- 0:29Speaker 1: dot com. Good morning, everybody, Happy Thursday. We have an
- 0:35Speaker 1: amazing show for everybody today. When do we have Crystal?
- 0:37Speaker 3: Indeed, we do.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Latest on the Iran war as Trump reportedly explores ground options.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I'm sure that will go great. He also seemingly is
- 0:45Speaker 2: announcing a cover up of what exactly happened when we
- 0:48Speaker 2: bombed that monob Girls school in Iran. Rocana and Thomas
- 0:52Speaker 2: Massey are going to join us live in studio.
- 0:55Speaker 3: They have a lot to talk about. They have a
- 0:57Speaker 3: new Epstein Transparency Act.
- 0:58Speaker 2: That they are pushing that would helped to enable prosecutions
- 1:01Speaker 2: in places like New Mexico with the Azora Ranch. They
- 1:03Speaker 2: also are just coming out the heels of this big
- 1:05Speaker 2: vote in the House on Massi's amendment to strip aid
- 1:08Speaker 2: from Israel, which created a whole fraction within the Democratic Caucus.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So very very excited to have.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Them live in person, have so many things that we
- 1:16Speaker 2: want to ask them about. We also have some news
- 1:19Speaker 2: here about Brad par Scale. I don't know if you
- 1:21Speaker 2: guys remember this guy, but he was the campaign chief
- 1:23Speaker 2: for Trump. He has now got a forty five million
- 1:26Speaker 2: dollar contract to run a pro Israel influence operation that
- 1:30Speaker 2: is effectively targeting undermining the Iranian war negotiations. So pretty
- 1:35Speaker 2: fascinating dynamics there, and always important to expose who is
- 1:38Speaker 2: getting paid and how these influence operations work. And I'm
- 1:41Speaker 2: taking a look at how Doge fueled the explosive diarrhea
- 1:45Speaker 2: epidemic and some other problems that are going on in
- 1:48Speaker 2: the country thanks to Doge as well.
- 1:49Speaker 3: So you definitely want to stay tuned for that one.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Excited for that one. A lot of viral panic around
- 1:54Speaker 1: this deal. Maybe it's not panic, maybe it's actually justified.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I'm excited to listen. Thank you to everybody who's been
- 1:58Speaker 1: subscribing to the show Breakingpoints at dot com. We of

- 2:10Speaker 1: Thomas Massey and Rocanna. This all came together very quickly,

- 2:20Speaker 1: people getting here early. That is only enabled by the
- 2:23Speaker 1: people who pay for our show. So Breakingpoints dot com
- 2:26Speaker 1: if you're able to do that. We actually we were
- 2:28Speaker 1: filming this a bit out of order and it was
- 2:30Speaker 1: just incredible, Like it's very rare to have that much
- 2:33Speaker 1: time with these high profile politicians here in Washington. And yeah,
- 2:37Speaker 1: just very thankful for our premium subscribers.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah, by the way, as a little teaser, you guys
- 2:41Speaker 2: are always asking us if Roe and Thomas Massey would
- 2:44Speaker 2: run together on a presidential ticket, so we doing that.
- 2:47Speaker 2: We do bring that up with them. So a lot
- 2:49Speaker 2: of interesting responses, some news that's made, etc. You definitely
- 2:51Speaker 2: want to check both of those blocks outs. As we
- 2:53Speaker 2: split it into.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Two ranking boys dot com. If you're able to support

- 2:58Speaker 1: please hit subscribe to our YouTube channel. Listen to the podcast.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We share an episode with a friend. But let's go
- 3:03Speaker 1: ahead and start, as Crystal said, with the Iran war.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Let's put a one up here on the screen. Some
- 3:08Speaker 1: very troubling news out from the Wall Street Journal. Trump
- 3:11Speaker 1: leans towards expanding US military options in Iran quote while
- 3:15Speaker 1: preferring diplomacy. Trump was briefed this week on options including
- 3:19Speaker 1: use of ground troops and the bombing of Pickaxe Mountain.
- 3:23Speaker 1: The long time watchers of the show will know all
- 3:25Speaker 1: about Pickaxe Mountain, which has become kind of this neo
- 3:28Speaker 1: con What's that castle the Israelis took in Lebanon, a
- 3:31Speaker 1: useless castle like Bingford Castle. So the Pickaxe Mountain is
- 3:34Speaker 1: the Buford Castle of the American neo cons where they've
- 3:38Speaker 1: just decided this this mountain, it's gotta go alleged nuclear
- 3:41Speaker 1: linked site. And you know, we can't finish the job
- 3:44Speaker 1: until we've taken Pickaxe Mountain. But what's even more troubling
- 3:48Speaker 1: here is that in the situation room meeting they discuss quote,
- 3:51Speaker 1: potential seizure of carg Island, which Trump has talked about,
- 3:54Speaker 1: territory all along the street of horn moves using US troops,
- 3:57Speaker 1: the bombing of the tunnel complex at Pickax Mountain, and
- 4:00Speaker 1: expanding air strikes against more targets in Iran, including energy strikes,
- 4:04Speaker 1: all including that as a possibility. So there are some
- 4:07Speaker 1: countervailing signs which will play for all of you. But
- 4:09Speaker 1: right now, all the signs currently point towards more war.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and put a two up here on
- 4:15Speaker 1: the screen. A very predictable thing is the same time
- 4:18Speaker 1: Trump is considering expanding military options, you have President Trump
- 4:22Speaker 1: says Ian called them a while ago, and now they
- 4:24Speaker 1: want to make a deal. And you also have, of
- 4:28Speaker 1: course the US stock market, which extended its rally immediately
- 4:31Speaker 1: upon the news. They never really learn, do they, although
- 4:33Speaker 1: they did end up closing down at the same time.
- 4:36Speaker 1: You know, and I know we do mention this quite
- 4:38Speaker 1: a bit, but you have to.
- 4:39Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I just feel like it's so titanic that and everything
- 4:43Speaker 1: seems like it's fine. But with the oil where it's at,
- 4:47Speaker 1: everyone who can read a chart, they're scared, and they're
- 4:50Speaker 1: beyond scared actually with the resumption of hostilities. Put a
- 4:54Speaker 1: three up here. The traders themselves, the people who have
- 4:57Speaker 1: been buying the Trump taco and all of that, largely
- 5:00Speaker 1: have been you know, on the side of it's not
- 5:02Speaker 1: as bad as some of the worst purveyors of doom
- 5:06Speaker 1: had said in the original war. They are now coming
- 5:09Speaker 1: out and saying we're close to running on empty as
- 5:12Speaker 1: the horn MoU straight is shut down again. So what
- 5:16Speaker 1: they write is that member countries have already released three
- 5:20Speaker 1: quarters of the planned four hundred million barrel emergency stock
- 5:24Speaker 1: release that was announced in March. Quote, we have burned
- 5:27Speaker 1: through all the buffers, we had everything, All of that
- 5:31Speaker 1: is gone.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Now.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Oil prices have now rebounded somewhere around eighty to eighty
- 5:35Speaker 1: five dollars a barrel. That's as highest since the original
- 5:38Speaker 1: ceasefire was announced over a month ago. And what they
- 5:42Speaker 1: also point out is that now the agreement that governments
- 5:45Speaker 1: in the West and Asia quote had pulled almost every
- 5:49Speaker 1: lever available to them to ensure a supply crunch would
- 5:52Speaker 1: not undermine the world economy. Western powers have already released,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you know, vast amounts of their strategic petroleum reserve. But
- 6:00Speaker 1: what they say here specifically, is that there's no more
- 6:03Speaker 1: slack left within the system. And so if we do
- 6:06Speaker 1: see another six to eight weeks or maybe even a
- 6:08Speaker 1: few more months of war, it is almost inevitable that
- 6:12Speaker 1: shortages will come up somewhere. It won't be here in America.
- 6:15Speaker 1: It certainly won't because we'll all just pay a very
- 6:17Speaker 1: very high price. But there's all of these other, you know,
- 6:20Speaker 1: factors that come into play. Where the Asian powers are
- 6:23Speaker 1: the ones who you know, you know, I read the
- 6:24Speaker 1: Asian press almost every day just to see what they're
- 6:27Speaker 1: saying about Iran, and they were actually pretty muted over
- 6:30Speaker 1: the last few months. We're back to panic. They're like
- 6:32Speaker 1: this is They're like, here we go. What are we
- 6:34Speaker 1: going to do? How are we going to get this
- 6:36Speaker 1: oil out? It's forty days away, you know, forty days
- 6:39Speaker 1: because in terms of tanker time. They're like, after that
- 6:41Speaker 1: we might run dry again. So the panic is setting
- 6:43Speaker 1: back across East Asia.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I mean, I think we should take the present's word
- 6:46Speaker 2: for it when he said, hey, another four weeks, I'm
- 6:48Speaker 2: going to be Herbert Hoover and we're going to have
- 6:49Speaker 2: all kinds of crisis because of the oil. I mean,
- 6:51Speaker 2: he said that when you signed the MoU and I
- 6:54Speaker 2: think he was telling the truth at that point. And
- 6:56Speaker 2: certainly he has analysts and also had all of the
- 6:59Speaker 2: CEOs of the large oil and gas companies who came
- 7:01Speaker 2: to him and were saying, hey, this is where we're at.
- 7:04Speaker 2: So that timeline, you know, is rapidly approaching. The clock
- 7:09Speaker 2: is ticking. And in this article from the Financial Times,
- 7:12Speaker 2: they have specific numbers that IEA on Friday said it's
- 7:15Speaker 2: members member countries had released almost three quarters of the
- 7:19Speaker 2: planned four hundred million barrel emergency stock release. I don't
- 7:22Speaker 2: know if you guys watch Ryan's interview with Robert Pape yesterday.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Pape was sounding the alarm about this as well.
- 7:27Speaker 2: You know, the idea was that Jade Vance floated, oh,
- 7:29Speaker 2: we're going to take this time to be able to refuel, restock, reload,
- 7:33Speaker 2: whatever the verbiage was. Part of that was refilling the
- 7:36Speaker 2: strategic petroleum reserve. They have not done that, so we
- 7:39Speaker 2: continue to have a dwindling of the strategy petroleum reserve
- 7:43Speaker 2: here in the US, where you're now getting down to
- 7:45Speaker 2: the literal bottom of the barrel. There isn't a lot
- 7:47Speaker 2: more buffer there. We don't know what China's going to do.
- 7:50Speaker 2: China has taken extraordinary measures himself to reduce the amount
- 7:54Speaker 2: of oil that they were importing from abroad. How long
- 7:57Speaker 2: is that going to last? It really, really is a
- 7:59Speaker 2: very troubling situation. And you know, so, I'm sure this
- 8:03Speaker 2: is why Trump's coming out and saying, oh, they want
- 8:05Speaker 2: to make a deal, et cetera. But I can tell
- 8:07Speaker 2: you this morning, I was just reading an article in CNBC.
- 8:10Speaker 2: The Iranians are threatening aggressive retaliation because Trump is once
- 8:16Speaker 2: again saying, oh, We're going to blow up their bridges,
- 8:17Speaker 2: their power plants, et cetera, with some credibility because they
- 8:19Speaker 2: have a tax civilian infrastructure with no qualms. In the past,
- 8:22Speaker 2: the Iranians said, everything in the region that is still intact,
- 8:26Speaker 2: all the infrastructure in the region will be crushed under
- 8:29Speaker 2: the steel blows of the powerful armed forces of the
- 8:32Speaker 2: Islamic Republic of Iran. So no trace of them remains,
- 8:35Speaker 2: and it is as if they never existed in the
- 8:37Speaker 2: first place. They added that under no circumstances and in
- 8:40Speaker 2: no way what we allow Americas, a foreign an extra
- 8:42Speaker 2: regional country to interfere in the Strait of Hormus. This
- 8:46Speaker 2: is Iran's invincible red line. Now, obviously there's a lot
- 8:50Speaker 2: of propaganda bluster there, but in terms of the Strait
- 8:52Speaker 2: of Hormuz being a hard red line that they will enforce,
- 8:56Speaker 2: I think they have a lot of credibility at this
- 8:57Speaker 2: point on that front.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I think you're totally right. I think what, really, you know,
- 9:01Speaker 1: is worrisome is the disconnect in the messaging from the
- 9:04Speaker 1: US government. And so Trump yesterday gave an interview where
- 9:09Speaker 1: you know, he was said, well, maybe we'll just wipe
- 9:12Speaker 1: them out, like in terms of the IRGC, and of
- 9:14Speaker 1: course some Fox News interview, these people have, you know,
- 9:17Speaker 1: their IQ has got to be like bottom of the barrel.
- 9:19Speaker 1: He goes, are you just gonna wipe out the IRGC
- 9:21Speaker 1: like you did? Isis? I'm like, yeah, it's not like
- 9:23Speaker 1: we didn't just try to wipe out the IRGC. Are
- 9:25Speaker 1: you an idiot? Anyways, I digress, and Trump goes, yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 1: maybe I will. Meanwhile, the Vice President on the Joe
- 9:32Speaker 1: Rogan podcast is making this tortured effort to say diplomacy
- 9:37Speaker 1: is still on track. These are just blips in the radar, right,
- 9:41Speaker 1: And I mean, in some ways he does say the
- 9:43Speaker 1: truth out loud, which is for the people who want
- 9:45Speaker 1: us to keep bombing, there's nothing else that can be done.
- 9:48Speaker 1: He's like, eventually, we do have to sit across from
- 9:50Speaker 1: the table, but you have to convince Trump of that.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So here is jd vance A seven. I'm gonna start
- 9:57Speaker 1: with saying, look, the people who want us to keep
- 9:59Speaker 1: bom bombing, they have no solution. I would just add
- 10:02Speaker 1: the addendum is here He's trying to go after the neocons.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Trump is also one of those neo cons at least
- 10:07Speaker 1: as of right now. Let's take a listen.
- 10:09Speaker 4: What is their proposal? The people that think you shouldn't
- 10:12Speaker 4: negotiate with you, Ron.
- 10:13Speaker 5: I think that their proposal is to bomb and bomb
- 10:15Speaker 5: and bomb. And the honest view Joe is that they
- 10:19Speaker 5: do not actually have a solution.
- 10:22Speaker 4: If you actually ask them, what.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Do you want us to do? What is the goal
- 10:25Speaker 5: that you're trying to achieve, They'll say things like, well,
- 10:29Speaker 5: just bomb them to oblivion. Okay, we can do that.
- 10:33Speaker 5: We can drop a lot of bombs, but what does
- 10:35Speaker 5: that accomplish if there's still a crazy person who's still
- 10:37Speaker 5: unwilling to shoot a few drones of the strait of
- 10:39Speaker 5: Horn moves? What the president has done, I think, very
- 10:42Speaker 5: very capably, is said, we're going to use military force
- 10:45Speaker 5: in this situation when it's connected to something we're trying
- 10:49Speaker 5: to achieve. So if you shoot at ships, we're going
- 10:52Speaker 5: to shoot at the facilities at which you used to
- 10:55Speaker 5: shoot at the ships. But we're not just going to
- 10:57Speaker 5: do something open ended indefinitely. We're not just going to
- 11:00Speaker 5: bomb and bomb and bomb. We're going to try to
- 11:01Speaker 5: use our military force as one of the many tools
- 11:04Speaker 5: that we have to solve the problem.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So you could see there, I mean, what he's talking
- 11:08Speaker 1: about is the inevitable logic. But again, like Trump is
- 11:11Speaker 1: the person who wants to keep resumed bombing, and this
- 11:14Speaker 1: is the basic like fracture in the administration. JD's very
- 11:18Speaker 1: committed to like the negotiation track, but there are other
- 11:22Speaker 1: elements in the government which just don't care at all.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You know, our friends at drop Site, Jeremy Skahill and
- 11:28Speaker 1: Ryan Let's go to their story aight up here on
- 11:31Speaker 1: the screen. They say Iran sent a message to JD
- 11:34Speaker 1: warning that Kushner and witkof quote were abusing their inside
- 11:39Speaker 1: access to negotiations. By the way, the White House totally
- 11:42Speaker 1: denied it. They said this is all, you know, completely fake,
- 11:44Speaker 1: et cetera. But here's what a senior Iranian official who
- 11:47Speaker 1: said directly to drop Site, we have transmitted data and
- 11:50Speaker 1: assessments through an exclusive channel to mister Vance, but with
- 11:53Speaker 1: direct knowledge of the effort communicated to Vance. They believed
- 11:57Speaker 1: Wikoff and Kushner were abusing the diplomatic process, effectively disrupting
- 12:01Speaker 1: the overall negotiating atmosphere. At one point, they claim that
- 12:05Speaker 1: Iran had calculated profits from such a legend manipulation from
- 12:09Speaker 1: Wikoff and Kushner that reached nine billion dollars and formally
- 12:13Speaker 1: requested in writing that Iran should have to share in
- 12:15Speaker 1: the proceeds of all of their insider trading. Again, to
- 12:19Speaker 1: be very clear, Wikoff and Kushner completely deny it. The
- 12:22Speaker 1: White House says that none of this ever.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I think the American people need to formally submit our
- 12:27Speaker 2: request to share in those proceeds.
- 12:29Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, let me in, Let me in.
- 12:31Speaker 2: But I mean, the crux of this, the allegation here
- 12:34Speaker 2: is that their corrupt inside trading is screwing up the
- 12:39Speaker 2: effort to come to some sort of negotiated deal here.
- 12:42Speaker 3: It's an obstacle.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It creates a problem in terms of actually sitting down
- 12:46Speaker 2: having some sort of negotiation that is perceived as remotely
- 12:50Speaker 2: in good faith when all you see is these guys,
- 12:52Speaker 2: you know, it's got all these development deals in the region.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You see all these market manipulations from Trump and what
- 12:57Speaker 2: he tweets, et cetera. That is making it actively more
- 13:01Speaker 2: difficult to not be in this war. So it's not
- 13:04Speaker 2: just a question of like morality. And it's disgusting the
- 13:07Speaker 2: number of people in the Trump administration, including Trump and
- 13:10Speaker 2: his family at all, who are just using the country
- 13:13Speaker 2: as their personal piggybank. But it has a direct impact
- 13:17Speaker 2: on what is happening to our country, on the way
- 13:19Speaker 2: our foreign policy is conducted, and on what is actually
- 13:21Speaker 2: possible in terms of these negotiations.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And what I think is the worst is we just
- 13:26Speaker 1: don't see a realistic path to actual resolution. Like do
- 13:31Speaker 1: I think there will be another fake memorandum of understanding? Yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 1: because inevitably you have to write like oil has got
- 13:39Speaker 1: to flow eventually. But can we really going to solve
- 13:43Speaker 1: the nuclearation? Like it just seems so impossible. If we
- 13:46Speaker 1: can't even sit without firing bombs for three weeks, how
- 13:51Speaker 1: can we possibly get to a situation where the United
- 13:53Speaker 1: States has to accept Iranian tolls and control of the
- 13:57Speaker 1: Strait of hormones and then furthermore basically guarantee Iran hundreds
- 14:03Speaker 1: of billions of dollars while they give up their nuclear
- 14:07Speaker 1: ambitions for fifteen years. Yeah, I mean, it just seems impossible.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And it's like, you know, I'm gonna kick right now.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm reading a lot of World War One and World
- 14:15Speaker 1: War II history, like more so even than normal. And
- 14:18Speaker 1: when you see what it takes to either defeat somebody
- 14:22Speaker 1: or bring them to the negotiating table, haven't bled enough.
- 14:25Speaker 1: And I know it's a horrible thing to say, but
- 14:27Speaker 1: it's just empirically true, either from loss of life or economically,
- 14:32Speaker 1: like the vast majority of Americans really only pay attention
- 14:35Speaker 1: when gas prices are high. How many know that as
- 14:38Speaker 1: of right now today while you and I are speaking,
- 14:40Speaker 1: Kuwait is under fire from cruise missiles, not many, and
- 14:43Speaker 1: they don't particularly care, right They're not going to care
- 14:45Speaker 1: honestly until gas is seven dollars a gallon. Iran knows this.
- 14:48Speaker 1: That's why they continue to close the straight of Horn moves.
- 14:51Speaker 1: But there's just enough wiggle room there and you know,
- 14:53Speaker 1: crazy stuff from the Trump administration other to try and
- 14:56Speaker 1: just push it off further. And then same on the Iranians.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I agree with treat I think they dramatically overreacted by
- 15:03Speaker 1: trying to undermine this memorandum of understanding, as in immediately
- 15:06Speaker 1: shooting instead of calling. But I also get it from
- 15:09Speaker 1: their perspective when Trump is like, I'm going to kill
- 15:11Speaker 1: you while you're in the middle of Geneva. Like if
- 15:13Speaker 1: somebody said that to me, you know, it's like if
- 15:16Speaker 1: I were to negotiate with a pro Israel person immediately,
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm always like, you're lying. You know. It's like my
- 15:22Speaker 1: absolute going in. How could we ever establish any baseline
- 15:26Speaker 1: of trust this somebody who's a concerts undermind you try
- 15:28Speaker 1: to kill you.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I understand where they're coming from too, So I just
- 15:33Speaker 1: I don't see how we can get out of this.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Like somebody has got a bleed a lot, and I
- 15:37Speaker 1: hope it's not us, but I seem to think so well.
- 15:39Speaker 2: And on the politics of it, we already recorded the
- 15:42Speaker 2: interview with Thomas Massey and Rocanna, and Congressman Massey said
- 15:46Speaker 2: something that was I think important for people to hear
- 15:48Speaker 2: because there's a lot of sense because you see the
- 15:51Speaker 2: Tuckers out there, you see the Tim Dillon's out there,
- 15:54Speaker 2: you know, who were unhappy we're on the right and
- 15:55Speaker 2: unhappy with the Zagger and Jetties of the world who
- 15:58Speaker 2: are unhappy with the Iran War. The MAGA base supports it.
- 16:02Speaker 2: They're all in. It's like seventy eighty percent of the
- 16:05Speaker 2: magabase that's like, yes, Iran War. And so when we
- 16:08Speaker 2: were asking Thomas Massy about the nature of his primary defeat,
- 16:10Speaker 2: he made sure to bring up, Yeah, it was Israel lobby,
- 16:13Speaker 2: it was going against Trump. It was also the Iran
- 16:15Speaker 2: War being opposed to it because it's very popular, and
- 16:18Speaker 2: we're asking about his future political ambitions.
- 16:20Speaker 3: He's like, that's going to be a real.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Obstacle for me in the Republican Party for now. You
- 16:24Speaker 2: know that Draanine may ship, but for now it's a problem.
- 16:27Speaker 2: And I think it's very different from how people are
- 16:30Speaker 2: perceiving the politics of it, because for Trump, looking at
- 16:34Speaker 2: the mid terms, the landscape is already really bad. You know,
- 16:37Speaker 2: people are unhappy, Republicans are sort of disenchanted over the
- 16:41Speaker 2: Epstein files and other things.
- 16:43Speaker 3: There's a lot of malaise there.
- 16:44Speaker 2: So they're already less likely to turn up at the
- 16:47Speaker 2: polls than Democrats. We've seen that in all kinds of
- 16:49Speaker 2: special elections. You ask them to also swallow a humiliating
- 16:53Speaker 2: Iran war defeat that is actually going to make your
- 16:56Speaker 2: midterm results even worse than they already are.
- 17:00Speaker 3: So it's danned if you do.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Damned if you don't from Trump for a political perspective,
- 17:04Speaker 2: but it actually, you know, his political incentives are not
- 17:07Speaker 2: necessarily to end the war now. His political incentives maybe
- 17:11Speaker 2: to keep it going through the midterms, so he doesn't
- 17:14Speaker 2: have to fully swallow the level of humiliation that will
- 17:17Speaker 2: be required to bring this thing to a close. And
- 17:19Speaker 2: so I think that's another dynamic here that we have
- 17:21Speaker 2: to take into account as well. His base wants this
- 17:24Speaker 2: war to keep going. They want to see the bombs
- 17:27Speaker 2: dropped and carg Island taken and him to be you know,
- 17:30Speaker 2: a heroic, tough guy, et cetera. They don't want to see, oh,
- 17:34Speaker 2: now we've done sanctions, relief in Iran, has all of
- 17:36Speaker 2: this newfound power in the region, that is not where
- 17:38Speaker 2: they are.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I mean, that's where pape escalation trap, you know, model
- 17:43Speaker 1: is just so it is so obviously true at this point,
- 17:47Speaker 1: and it is also I mean, very tragically for the
- 17:51Speaker 1: US and even for Iran. You know, look, Iran is
- 17:55Speaker 1: Iran is desperate because what they're what they also knows
- 17:58Speaker 1: I was reading this morning, is the world will eventually
- 18:00Speaker 1: figure it out, like we did with Ukraine and Russia.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Right at the beginning it was a crisis. After a
- 18:05Speaker 1: couple of years, you figure out how to get natural
- 18:07Speaker 1: gas to different places. It's bad, but everyone kind of
- 18:11Speaker 1: moves on. Iran has got to actually force hand now,
- 18:14Speaker 1: so they have a direct incentive. And at the same time, America,
- 18:17Speaker 1: which has not bled, and Trump, who cannot admit total
- 18:20Speaker 1: defeat at least not yet, has got to do something extra.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And in any one of those extra maneuvers, it brings
- 18:28Speaker 1: death and immense costs to America. You know, one of
- 18:31Speaker 1: the because we had Thomas Massey and Rokana added at
- 18:34Speaker 1: last minute. You know, there was this whole segment that
- 18:36Speaker 1: I was going to do about all of the lack
- 18:39Speaker 1: of munitions. It is, it is so much worse than
- 18:42Speaker 1: even I thought. Five hundred million dollars we put into
- 18:45Speaker 1: a factory, it hasn't produced a single round not one,
- 18:47Speaker 1: five hundred million, and we gave three million of these
- 18:51Speaker 1: rounds to Ukraine. The whole point of the money. Remember,
- 18:54Speaker 1: Biden was like, this is good for America because we'll
- 18:56Speaker 1: make all these weapons here. They haven't been made. It's
- 18:59Speaker 1: impossible to make apparently just from a manufacturing backlog. I'm
- 19:02Speaker 1: looking at the state of the US Navy the F
- 19:04Speaker 1: thirty five. For the first time in twenty years, the
- 19:06Speaker 1: Pentagon is blocking an open source report about the F
- 19:09Speaker 1: thirty five. Why do you think after one just got
- 19:11Speaker 1: hit over Iran? I'm looking at this and then the
- 19:14Speaker 1: oil I mean again, you know, you have to read
- 19:16Speaker 1: only a few books to say it may not be
- 19:18Speaker 1: the Iran war that breaks us. It may be that
- 19:20Speaker 1: the total destruction and depletion of the American Empire as
- 19:23Speaker 1: a result of this. Then when the next one comes
- 19:26Speaker 1: completely out of nowhere, that's how you find yourself broken
- 19:29Speaker 1: completely and you lose everything in a matter of a month.
- 19:32Speaker 1: That's the stuff that just absolutely terrifies me. And you
- 19:35Speaker 1: can just see it. You know, every day, four missiles here,
- 19:38Speaker 1: cruise missiles there, drones going here, Iranian ships or Iranian
- 19:42Speaker 1: you know, the United States bombed an oil tanker which
- 19:46Speaker 1: was docking at carg Island for the first time ever.
- 19:49Speaker 1: We had never done that before. As a result, they
- 19:51Speaker 1: blew that up and potentially some oil infrastructure. Iran is saying, like,
- 19:55Speaker 1: very seriously, you are going to burn if you continue this.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I just I don't see a way out. The one
- 20:01Speaker 1: last you know, piece potentially of good news, you know,
- 20:04Speaker 1: I don't want to say that it hasn't happened is
- 20:06Speaker 1: let's put a nine up here on the screen. Is
- 20:09Speaker 1: it does appear that there was some American woman. Trump right,
- 20:13Speaker 1: Iran has allowed an American citizen who is wrongfully detained
- 20:16Speaker 1: in December twenty twenty four under Joe Biden to leave
- 20:19Speaker 1: the country. She is now safely outside of Iran and
- 20:21Speaker 1: in good condition. America appreciates this gesture of goodwill from Iran,
- 20:24Speaker 1: So that could be a good thing. I just don't know.
- 20:27Speaker 1: But my only you know, again, I have no idea
- 20:31Speaker 1: who this woman is. There's no open source reporting or
- 20:34Speaker 1: any of this. This could potentially try to be a
- 20:36Speaker 1: sign of, you know, putting things back on track. But
- 20:39Speaker 1: just like America has internal factions and domestic politics, so
- 20:43Speaker 1: does Iran. It's very clear their hardline faction doesn't want
- 20:47Speaker 1: to give another inch, so we'll see that. That's what
- 20:49Speaker 1: else can we say. Let's get to Minab.
- 20:54Speaker 2: So you all will recall that in the early days
- 20:56Speaker 2: of the Iran war, we dropped a bomb on a
- 20:59Speaker 2: little girls school, the Monob School, and killed over one
- 21:02Speaker 2: hundred and fifty children. There has been an investigation internally
- 21:06Speaker 2: allegedly launched here within the US government. Trump keeps claiming though,
- 21:11Speaker 2: making this claim that, oh, we may never know what happened,
- 21:13Speaker 2: even though that appears to be patently false. It is
- 21:16Speaker 2: very findoutable what actually happened. We have reporting on what
- 21:19Speaker 2: actually happened. Let's go ahead and take a listen to
- 21:21Speaker 2: his latest claims.
- 21:22Speaker 6: Democrats released a letter calling on your administration to unveil
- 21:27Speaker 6: the findings of the investigation into a strike that killed
- 21:31Speaker 6: more than one hundred children on the first day of
- 21:34Speaker 6: the war. Will you commit to releasing the findings of
- 21:37Speaker 6: this investigation?
- 21:38Speaker 7: Well, I have to speak to the generals that are
- 21:39Speaker 7: doing the because we mostly have a general's you know,
- 21:43Speaker 7: I don't think anybody's going to ever be able to
- 21:45Speaker 7: say what happened there.
- 21:46Speaker 6: There are images from this site that show fragments that
- 21:49Speaker 6: appear to be from US Tomahawk missiles. Is it possible
- 21:53Speaker 6: that old intelligence or a mistake during a very active
- 21:56Speaker 6: time in the war led to this event?
- 21:59Speaker 7: It is, But it's also so possible that those images
- 22:01Speaker 7: that you have are AI generated. Now I know we're
- 22:04Speaker 7: waiting for a conclusive report. I don't think they can
- 22:08Speaker 7: be a conclusive report.
- 22:09Speaker 6: Were there are the reports when it is finished?
- 22:11Speaker 7: I guess so, I mean I have to ask the military,
- 22:13Speaker 7: but there might be a reason why they can.
- 22:15Speaker 3: And I'll tell you what that is.
- 22:16Speaker 2: That is the announcement of a planned cover up. Because
- 22:19Speaker 2: we already have reporting about what happened here, it was
- 22:22Speaker 2: not difficult to figure out. We can put let's put
- 22:25Speaker 2: this CNN report up on the screen.
- 22:27Speaker 3: This is B three.
- 22:28Speaker 2: They say that senior US military commanders bypassed warnings in
- 22:32Speaker 2: critical databases that intelligence about potential targets in Iran was
- 22:36Speaker 2: severely out of date and approve some strikes, including one
- 22:40Speaker 2: that hit a school, killing nearly two hundred children and adults.
- 22:44Speaker 2: According to three sources, familiar messages indicating the intelligence was
- 22:47Speaker 2: based on years old intelligence that needed to be revetted.
- 22:51Speaker 2: We're embedded in a system used for developing targets and
- 22:54Speaker 2: required a senior officer to approve adding a site to
- 22:57Speaker 2: the strike list. According to the sources, the decision by
- 22:59Speaker 2: senior commanders to ignore the warnings was made for expediency.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Two of the sources set in a rush to provide
- 23:05Speaker 2: targets at the start of the war. It also directly
- 23:08Speaker 2: contributed to the accidental strike on the school, according to
- 23:12Speaker 2: those sources. In addition, they identify the fact that Hegseth
- 23:16Speaker 2: has made drastic cuts almost to the point of eliminating
- 23:20Speaker 2: these civilian harm mitigation and response programs, slash their staff
- 23:24Speaker 2: at military commands by more than ninety percent. That included
- 23:27Speaker 2: removing civilian harms specialists from target development strike teams and
- 23:31Speaker 2: reducing the team of ten at Central Command to only
- 23:35Speaker 2: one full time staffer. Again, according to CNN, so you
- 23:39Speaker 2: had two separate databases, one that's older, one that they're
- 23:42Speaker 2: trying to use AI automated systems. Both of them had
- 23:46Speaker 2: instructions in there that the intelligence on these particular type
- 23:50Speaker 2: of targets was outdated. We know that the satellite imagery
- 23:54Speaker 2: shows that there were clear changes to this site, transitioning
- 23:57Speaker 2: it from part of a base to this girls' school.
- 24:01Speaker 2: But because they just wanted to rush and have a
- 24:03Speaker 2: massive list of targets, they decided not to go and check,
- 24:07Speaker 2: and so you end up with the worst civilian death
- 24:11Speaker 2: incident caused by the US military that we know of
- 24:14Speaker 2: since the first Gulf War. I mean, that's how serious
- 24:17Speaker 2: and how severe it is. We have the investigation, and
- 24:19Speaker 2: now Trump is saying, oh, we may never know, and
- 24:21Speaker 2: I'll have to talk to the generals about whether.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I don't think that we understand how impactful this strike
- 24:29Speaker 1: was in Iran, Like the Iranians call their delegation for
- 24:34Speaker 1: negotiations the minob one sixty eight. They have pictures printed
- 24:39Speaker 1: out all the school girls in their plane on the
- 24:43Speaker 1: backs of the seats, so they know who they're fighting for.
- 24:46Speaker 1: The team them did a tribute to the MINAB one
- 24:51Speaker 1: sixty eight. They have pins that they wear. One of
- 24:54Speaker 1: the reasons they didn't want to shake JD's hand was
- 24:55Speaker 1: because of the Minab incident in the negotiations engine. Like,
- 24:59Speaker 1: I don't I think you can understand the psyche of Iran.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Actually maybe you can if you just you know, maybe
- 25:05Speaker 1: watch our show or not mainstream media, but like, look
- 25:07Speaker 1: at the crowds for the Iatola command, who by the way,
- 25:09Speaker 1: I mean, they liked him, but a lot of people
- 25:11Speaker 1: were very frustrated by his regime. Millions of people came out.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Sarabamari remember in the middle of the war, came on
- 25:17Speaker 1: our show and he was like, he said, he was
- 25:18Speaker 1: watching stay TV. He's like, all they do is just like,
- 25:22Speaker 1: you know, worship martyrdom, not just of the Iatola. They're like,
- 25:26Speaker 1: there was this janitor, he was killed in his strike,
- 25:28Speaker 1: and he's a national hero. Now like in Iran, these
- 25:31Speaker 1: people's names are you know, everybody knows that. In America,
- 25:35Speaker 1: we all just kind of move on. But as you said,
- 25:36Speaker 1: it's the worst civilian death incidents as a Gulf war.
- 25:39Speaker 1: It's by the way that one was handled very differently.
- 25:41Speaker 1: If you want to look at how the United States
- 25:42Speaker 1: military reacted, I covered some horrible incidents, the Taliban or
- 25:47Speaker 1: the Kundu's hospital incident. I was a Pentagon correspondent at
- 25:50Speaker 1: that time. Dramatic difference in the way that the lies
- 25:54Speaker 1: were the same, but the you know, reaction from Congress
- 25:57Speaker 1: and others was totally different. Like, we have have to apologize,
- 26:00Speaker 1: We have to admit that this was a massive mistake
- 26:02Speaker 1: in the generals who are involved, like somebody has got
- 26:05Speaker 1: to pay this time around Trump and the entire cover
- 26:08Speaker 1: up of it. Not only does it givey Ron you know,
- 26:11Speaker 1: really a moral high ground in some cases, like whenever
- 26:13Speaker 1: they come at us for their strikes, but it also
- 26:17Speaker 1: creates this culture of there will be no price paid,
- 26:20Speaker 1: and that's exactly the opposite of what you want, not
- 26:23Speaker 1: just in terms of the morality, but I just laid
- 26:26Speaker 1: out how much of a disaster it was. Like the
- 26:29Speaker 1: entire point was we want regime change. Let's murder one
- 26:31Speaker 1: hundred and sixty eight girls on day one of the
- 26:34Speaker 1: entire war. You think that's going to engender the whole
- 26:36Speaker 1: population to you know, they hate us for this, Like
- 26:39Speaker 1: those those schoolgirls will like everyone will know about them
- 26:43Speaker 1: fifty years from now.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, inside of you, it's not hard actually
- 26:47Speaker 2: to imagine, because imagine that, you know, a foreign country
- 26:52Speaker 2: bombed one of our girls' schools.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I will tell you, think about unforgettable.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Yeah, think about Sandy Hook. Horrified.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I still remember covering that, like viscerally, how horrifying it is.
- 27:03Speaker 2: It's still just like unconscionable to imagine that was twenty children.
- 27:07Speaker 2: We're talking about one hundred and sixty eight little girls.
- 27:09Speaker 2: And here's the other thing that I don't know if
- 27:11Speaker 2: people realize, but because you know, we've had we've had
- 27:16Speaker 2: various Iranian analysts and Ranians on the show to tell
- 27:18Speaker 2: us from the Iranian perspective, they don't believe it was
- 27:21Speaker 2: an accident. They think that it was an intentional and
- 27:24Speaker 2: you know, I can't really blame them for this after
- 27:26Speaker 2: seeing what we ate and embedded with Israel and Gaza.
- 27:29Speaker 2: They believe it was an intentional effort to put pressure
- 27:32Speaker 2: on some of the IRGC because a lot of their
- 27:36Speaker 2: children were the ones that were going to this school.
- 27:39Speaker 2: So they think that it was intentional. So again, not
- 27:43Speaker 2: that they would believe the report that we put out,
- 27:46Speaker 2: but at least if you had some information out here
- 27:48Speaker 2: about Look, guys, here's how we fucked up.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:50Speaker 2: We didn't actually mean to do this. Here's what happened.
- 27:53Speaker 2: It was human error, it was incompetence. Again, they may
- 27:56Speaker 2: not believe that, but that would be important to put
- 27:58Speaker 2: out to the world as at least saying we are
- 28:02Speaker 2: different than Israel. We actually do take seriously civilian deaths
- 28:05Speaker 2: and civilian casualties but I do think because of the
- 28:09Speaker 2: barbarism that Israel and Gaza has put on the table,
- 28:12Speaker 2: it makes it very easy for Trump to just shrug
- 28:14Speaker 2: his shoulders and say, yeah, we may never know what happened.
- 28:17Speaker 2: What happened, you know, a fog of war, et cetera, etcetera.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I guess I'll talk to the generals. But anyway, it
- 28:20Speaker 2: also could have been AI. So we're moving on really
- 28:23Speaker 2: disgusting and really quite ominous for the future of warfare
- 28:27Speaker 2: and the way that we conduct ourselves. And speaking of which,
- 28:31Speaker 2: we had another horrifying situation here. It can put before
- 28:35Speaker 2: up on the screen. US missiles struck a near a
- 28:38Speaker 2: children's cancer hospital. There is, you know, a dispute over
- 28:42Speaker 2: whether this was a direct hit or whether it's some
- 28:45Speaker 2: nearby debris that causes fire at the children's cancer hospital.
- 28:50Speaker 2: They say this is the first US strike on Iranian
- 28:52Speaker 2: hospital in months. Additional strikes also causing damage to residential homes.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Trump talks openly about committing war crimes. This is just
- 28:59Speaker 2: you know, hit civilian infrastructure. This is part of his
- 29:01Speaker 2: plan that he announces brazenly and openly.
- 29:04Speaker 3: We've sort of gotten used to it.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I guess already again because of Gaza and because of
- 29:08Speaker 2: the way that Trump and Headseth operate. But in any
- 29:12Speaker 2: previous era this would have been a horrifying scandal. You
- 29:15Speaker 2: never would have admitted this publicly, you know, you never
- 29:17Speaker 2: would have celebrated or incorporated this as an explicit tactic.
- 29:21Speaker 3: It's just become completely uninjined, insane.
- 29:23Speaker 4: I know.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And yeah, to your point, Professor Morondi, let's put B
- 29:26Speaker 1: five up here on the screen. He says, the Trump
- 29:29Speaker 1: regime is just bombed a children's hospital in the city
- 29:31Speaker 1: of of Oz. It is being evacuated. Again. You know,
- 29:34Speaker 1: it's nobody from the US side is confirming not can
- 29:38Speaker 1: you even take any of it seriously? Like that's part
- 29:40Speaker 1: of the problem. And that's exactly what all of this
- 29:43Speaker 1: demonstrates to us about the sheer dishonor really upon you know,
- 29:47Speaker 1: upon the American people, upon all of us. We paid
- 29:50Speaker 1: for all of these bombs, and you know, we're gonna
- 29:53Speaker 1: have to live not just with the consequences of what
- 29:55Speaker 1: they've done, but just also with our government just casually
- 29:59Speaker 1: saying that there's nothing wrong really with what they did.
- 30:02Speaker 1: If the leader really the culpability lies with Trump ordered
- 30:08Speaker 1: a last, you know, a very haired US operation. And
- 30:11Speaker 1: then it comes down to hag Seth and others saying
- 30:14Speaker 1: we don't care, dust off the plans from fifteen years
- 30:16Speaker 1: ago and go. I also, frankly, you have to depentagon.
- 30:20Speaker 1: You pay these guys all sorts of money. There's an
- 30:22Speaker 1: entire room that's bigger than this studio where all they
- 30:26Speaker 1: do is just talk about eron war plans all day.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Even when things were going well with Iran, nobody ever
- 30:31Speaker 1: updated the target set.
- 30:32Speaker 2: I mean that is the other thing that struck me
- 30:33Speaker 2: to is how much money do we give you?
- 30:36Speaker 3: Like, what are you doing? Yeah, you know, you couldn't
- 30:39Speaker 3: get anyone to go in and hey, let's take a
- 30:42Speaker 3: look at this.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Let's go check the satellites and see if this intelligence
- 30:45Speaker 2: is still you know, to eate.
- 30:47Speaker 3: And they knew that it wasn't and it still didn't.
- 30:49Speaker 3: I mean, it's just insane.
- 30:50Speaker 1: There are guys in the CIA, there's a whole room
- 30:52Speaker 1: like a tackle operation center and all this where all
- 30:54Speaker 1: they do is just look at it around all day,
- 30:56Speaker 1: just update you know, all these different target sets. But
- 30:59Speaker 1: then oh somebody and tell DoD or they did tell
- 31:01Speaker 1: do d do d never updated the file, nobody updated
- 31:04Speaker 1: the package.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Well, there was a situation like that where apparently someone
- 31:07Speaker 2: had flagged that that it appeared from the satellites that
- 31:10Speaker 2: there had been changes to the site, but it was
- 31:12Speaker 2: in a different system, and it didn't map onto this system,
- 31:15Speaker 2: and this system had the flag in it of hey,
- 31:18Speaker 2: you should check it out. But then when it was
- 31:20Speaker 2: when it was go time and it wasn't done, they're like,
- 31:22Speaker 2: all right, we'll just do it anyway and hope for
- 31:24Speaker 2: the best.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's disgusting.
- 31:26Speaker 2: And you know, hagset part of how he ended up
- 31:29Speaker 2: in this job is because of his advocacy for war
- 31:32Speaker 2: criminals who had been turned in by their own comrades
- 31:35Speaker 2: in arms. And Trump admires him, but that I talked
- 31:37Speaker 2: about the fact that he appreciated that Hegseth was willing
- 31:40Speaker 2: to go to bat for these, you know, convicted war
- 31:43Speaker 2: criminals in the military. So it's no surprise that that
- 31:46Speaker 2: is the culture that we have instilled here. And as
- 31:48Speaker 2: I said before, also because of the bipartisan support for
- 31:52Speaker 2: a literal jedocide occurring before our eyes, containing the worst,
- 31:56Speaker 2: most unimaginable atrocities, you could you know that really truly
- 32:00Speaker 2: were beyond belief, beyond what anyone could have possibly pictured.
- 32:03Speaker 1: All right, we have Congressman Rocan we recorded already, but
- 32:07Speaker 1: we're going to edit it in now. So let's throw
- 32:08Speaker 1: to our interview with congress and Rocanna and Congressman Thomas mass.
- 32:14Speaker 2: So we've got a special trait this morning in studio.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Both congressmen part of the dream team here, Thomas Massey
- 32:21Speaker 2: and Rocanna. Great to see you both, Welcome, Thanks to you.
- 32:24Speaker 2: So you guys have obviously teamed up on a number
- 32:27Speaker 2: of initiatives, but you have a new one that you
- 32:29Speaker 2: wanted to bring to us today. Congresson Massey about the
- 32:32Speaker 2: you know Epstein Transparency, tell us what you're pushing forward now.
- 32:35Speaker 8: Well, yesterday was the one year anniversary of the introduction
- 32:39Speaker 8: of the Epstein False Transparency Act that Rocanna and I wrote,
- 32:42Speaker 8: and we thought it was time to do a sequel
- 32:45Speaker 8: because the first bill has been very successful. We've got
- 32:48Speaker 8: three million documents released, but there have been some dragging
- 32:54Speaker 8: of feet by the Attorney General and the Acting Attorney General,
- 32:58Speaker 8: and so you know, this is to spur the next level. Specifically,
- 33:03Speaker 8: the main thing that this new bill does that we've
- 33:05Speaker 8: introduced is forces the US Attorney General to cooperate with
- 33:10Speaker 8: state attorneys general that want to prosecute Epstein co conspirators
- 33:15Speaker 8: under state law. And it turns out in New Mexico
- 33:19Speaker 8: that's where the Zoro Ranch was. You hear a lot
- 33:21Speaker 8: about Epstein Island. You hear almost nothing about Zoro Ranch.
- 33:24Speaker 8: But it was expansive, it was massive that people were
- 33:28Speaker 8: going there all the time. Crimes were committed there, and
- 33:31Speaker 8: some of those aren't barred by statute of limitations, and
- 33:34Speaker 8: so the Attorney General in New Mexico would like to
- 33:37Speaker 8: prosecute those crimes, and so we're making it easier with
- 33:40Speaker 8: this bill.
- 33:41Speaker 4: That's one of the things it does.
- 33:42Speaker 1: What's really interesting about this is that it did create
- 33:45Speaker 1: a political crisis for the Trump administration. The Vice President JD.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Vance actually was on the Joe Rogan podcast just yesterday.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I do want curious for both of your response. Congressman Connae,
- 33:55Speaker 1: you've can start. The Vice President said that it was
- 33:58Speaker 1: quote nonsense that the President was forced to sign the
- 34:01Speaker 1: Epstein Files Transparency Act. He said that he did it
- 34:04Speaker 1: completely of his own volition, that the idea that the
- 34:07Speaker 1: two of you kind of dragged them to it was
- 34:10Speaker 1: ridiculous because nobody controls Donald Trump. I'm curious for both
- 34:14Speaker 1: of your reactions, Congress, mcconnor you could start.
- 34:15Speaker 9: When the history of the Trump administration has written, what
- 34:18Speaker 9: Massey and I did will be seen as the most
- 34:21Speaker 9: decisive blow to Trump that began the unraveling of his presidency.
- 34:27Speaker 9: I mean, no one had stood up to Donald Trump
- 34:30Speaker 9: before effectively. And Trump tried everything from including intimidating Thomas's
- 34:37Speaker 9: colleagues Lauren Boubert and Nancy Mays and Marjorie Taylor Green,
- 34:42Speaker 9: some of them he brought into the situation room to
- 34:44Speaker 9: get them not to support this. They adjourned Congress, they
- 34:50Speaker 9: didn't swear in at Alita Grihova. They tried everything. Then
- 34:54Speaker 9: what happened, Not only did they realize that we were
- 34:57Speaker 9: going to pass the Act, Donald Trump realized that he
- 35:00Speaker 9: was going to get probably eighty to ninety Republicans to
- 35:04Speaker 9: be willing to overturn his veto. And that's when he
- 35:07Speaker 9: signed the Act and he told Jade Vince to go
- 35:10Speaker 9: into the situation room and start the cover up. But
- 35:14Speaker 9: what this did, it's not just about justice for survivors,
- 35:16Speaker 9: which is important. After this, now there were was one
- 35:19Speaker 9: hundred discharge petitions. Now suddenly everyone is willing to defy
- 35:23Speaker 9: Donald Trump, and we changed the entire culture in the Congress.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Do you agree with that, Carson?
- 35:29Speaker 4: Yeah? Absolutely.
- 35:31Speaker 8: I mean we dragged him kicking and screaming to signing this.
- 35:34Speaker 8: I asked to be invited to the bill signing. I
- 35:37Speaker 8: think I'm the first congressman who's ever got a bill
- 35:39Speaker 8: passed that wasn't invited to the bill signers. I did
- 35:43Speaker 8: the big fat sharkney, and they did it in secret,
- 35:46Speaker 8: like in a room with no cameras.
- 35:49Speaker 4: Mean, you never see that happen.
- 35:50Speaker 8: And at one point the White House said that it
- 35:53Speaker 8: would be a hostile act towards the President for any
- 35:56Speaker 8: Republican to co sign the discharge petition. And you had
- 36:00Speaker 8: Jeff Freeland, who's the Legislative Affairs director for the President
- 36:05Speaker 8: on Capitol Hill. I saw him going up and down
- 36:07Speaker 8: the street and through the halls, running around trying to
- 36:10Speaker 8: get people's names off of this bill, trying to keep
- 36:12Speaker 8: people from sponsoring it. There's no way they wanted this
- 36:16Speaker 8: to happen. And then what was the fallout? I mean,
- 36:18Speaker 8: Howard Blutnik. We found out that the guy who's.
- 36:21Speaker 10: Behind Donald Trump on Air Force one and behind the
- 36:24Speaker 10: Resolute desk, the guy who's always standing there. That guy
- 36:27Speaker 10: took his family to Epstein Island for a little picnic
- 36:30Speaker 10: after claiming on TV that he had nothing to do
- 36:33Speaker 10: with Jeffrey Epstein.
- 36:34Speaker 4: The man was so disgusting, he would have nothing to
- 36:36Speaker 4: do with him.
- 36:37Speaker 8: And you know, but what we need right now is accountability,
- 36:41Speaker 8: and that's what this bill gets to. There's a couple
- 36:43Speaker 8: other things that bill does that I'd love to explain.
- 36:47Speaker 8: So you know, in the hearings we saw yesterday, what
- 36:50Speaker 8: was with Todd blanche with his nomination. What was painfully
- 36:54Speaker 8: obvious is he's ignoring the victims and they can't even
- 36:58Speaker 8: get their own files. Still withholding files the testimony that
- 37:03Speaker 8: the victims gave to the FBI, and we know it
- 37:05Speaker 8: exists on three h two forms. The victims, the survivors,
- 37:08Speaker 8: the ones who are still alive, they know it's there
- 37:11Speaker 8: and they can't get it. So our bill gives those
- 37:13Speaker 8: victims standing in the US court to sue the Attorney
- 37:17Speaker 8: General to get their own files. That's really important. The
- 37:21Speaker 8: other thing it does is the DOJ. This hasn't been
- 37:25Speaker 8: widely reported, but twice they've told us in Congress and
- 37:28Speaker 8: like these little notes or memos to Congress that we're
- 37:31Speaker 8: using deliberative process privilege in order not to give you
- 37:35Speaker 8: some of these documents. And our bill, our original bill,
- 37:39Speaker 8: said you've got to tell us about your decisions on
- 37:41Speaker 8: whether to prosecute or not prosecute.
- 37:43Speaker 4: But they're withholding all those files.
- 37:44Speaker 8: That's the nub of this is why didn't they prosecute
- 37:47Speaker 8: people like Leslie Wexner, Leon Black, Jess Daley, people who
- 37:51Speaker 8: in their own files showed that they had information on
- 37:54Speaker 8: enough that at one point Leslie Wexner was listed on
- 37:58Speaker 8: an FBI document as a co conspirator and a child
- 38:01Speaker 8: sex trafficking rank.
- 38:03Speaker 4: Also, so was Leslie Groft, that.
- 38:05Speaker 8: You know, the Epstein's main assistant who helped traffic the women.
- 38:11Speaker 8: So what this will do is it takes away unambiguously
- 38:15Speaker 8: we believe our first bill did anyway, but unambiguously it
- 38:18Speaker 8: says you don't have these special privileges that you can
- 38:21Speaker 8: exert to withhold files. And finally, it gives Rowani standing
- 38:25Speaker 8: to go to a court, get in front of a
- 38:27Speaker 8: judge and have a judge. Have the third branch of
- 38:30Speaker 8: government adjudicate whether the executive branch is complying with the
- 38:33Speaker 8: law that the legislative branch wrote and the president signed.
- 38:37Speaker 2: And Conmerstan MASSI, you know, you were successfully defeated in
- 38:40Speaker 2: your primary.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Thanks successfully defeated. What a jump trum there?
- 38:45Speaker 3: Yeah, that respective.
- 38:46Speaker 9: By the way, if Trump wanted to voluntarily sign this,
- 38:49Speaker 9: he should have been endorsing Massy, not campaign and not.
- 38:52Speaker 2: The point is, you know, you cross Trump, and you
- 38:55Speaker 2: cross the Israel lobby. They dumped what thirty million dollars
- 38:58Speaker 2: in against you there effort from their perspective was successful
- 39:01Speaker 2: in getting you out. But I am curious if you
- 39:03Speaker 2: agree with Kyrasmoncanna that your efforts on Epstein were a
- 39:08Speaker 2: blow to the Trump administration. And I don't think that
- 39:10Speaker 2: that was your goal. That's not the way you have
- 39:12Speaker 2: framed it. But it does seem like it created a
- 39:15Speaker 2: fracture in the base and was kind of, you know,
- 39:17Speaker 2: the start of his approval rating really beginning to fall off.
- 39:20Speaker 8: Well, I think it was self inflicted by the president.
- 39:23Speaker 8: He went on TV and said, if you think there's
- 39:25Speaker 8: any there there in these Epstein files, you are no
- 39:27Speaker 8: longer a supporter of mine. I don't want your support.
- 39:30Speaker 8: He told Maggot, you're no friend of mine if you
- 39:33Speaker 8: still want to pursue this promise that I made. Right,
- 39:36Speaker 8: So he basically fractured right in half Maggot, and he
- 39:41Speaker 8: lost Marjorie Taylor Green on this.
- 39:43Speaker 4: I mean this was he called her a trader for
- 39:46Speaker 4: pursuing the.
- 39:46Speaker 8: Epstein Files Transparency Act, right, like I might have had
- 39:49Speaker 8: other infractions like voting against the Big Beautiful Bill or
- 39:53Speaker 8: not voting for Mike Johnson. But Marjorie Taylor Green had
- 39:56Speaker 8: been loyal to the president and the only place that
- 39:59Speaker 8: she deviated was on the Epstein files. He told her
- 40:01Speaker 8: on the phone, and she related this to me immediately
- 40:04Speaker 8: when it happened, that you're going to hurt my friends
- 40:07Speaker 8: if you persist in getting these files released, and so it.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Was I wouldn't. I don't. Ro gives us too much
- 40:15Speaker 4: credit for inflicting this damage.
- 40:18Speaker 8: At MIT, we called this ballistic pedietry, which is shooting
- 40:22Speaker 8: yourself in.
- 40:22Speaker 4: The foot right.
- 40:26Speaker 11: The original cause, right, We gave him the opportunity, But
- 40:32Speaker 11: also I really think the credit goes to the survivors,
- 40:36Speaker 11: And it was it was Roe who invited them for
- 40:39Speaker 11: the first time to be heard on the steps of
- 40:41Speaker 11: the Capitol.
- 40:42Speaker 8: Right there in front of the Capitol, we gave him
- 40:44Speaker 8: a voice. There were people who had never been public before.
- 40:47Speaker 8: It wasn't worth the risk to them. They came out
- 40:50Speaker 8: it said that they were you know, had been victims,
- 40:53Speaker 8: were survivors and told their stories. And I think that's
- 40:56Speaker 8: what motivated our colleagues eventually to nearly unanimously to pass this.
- 41:03Speaker 9: Now, one thing I haven't said one of the reasons
- 41:06Speaker 9: the partnership with Massey and I works. Thomas is an
- 41:09Speaker 9: MIT guy.
- 41:11Speaker 4: He knows all the details.
- 41:12Speaker 9: You know, you want to understand discharge petition, this rule,
- 41:15Speaker 9: that rule. Thomas knows all of that, and you need
- 41:18Speaker 9: to know all of that achieve what we did. I
- 41:21Speaker 9: helped bring the survivors and organize that press conference twice
- 41:27Speaker 9: in front of the Capitol, and that changed public opinion,
- 41:30Speaker 9: and that helped make sure that we could pass it.
- 41:33Speaker 9: And it was the teamwork with different complementary skills, not
- 41:36Speaker 9: just across the aisle, that allowed us to get the
- 41:40Speaker 9: Epstein files passed.
- 41:41Speaker 8: Well, one more thing, if the president is so gung
- 41:44Speaker 8: ho to get these files out, why are they still
- 41:45Speaker 8: dragging their feet and exerting every privilege they can to
- 41:49Speaker 8: redact anything they can.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Well to both of your point, you know you met
- 41:52Speaker 1: Christ mentioned the Israel lobby. There's been a lot of
- 41:54Speaker 1: speculation about Jeffrey Epstein's connection to Israel. The administration is
- 41:57Speaker 1: officially denied it. I believe Todd Blanche in this interview
- 42:00Speaker 1: with Gleainne Maxwell, and yet the Vice President again yesterday
- 42:03Speaker 1: on the Joe Rogan experience, said it is clear that
- 42:07Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein had connections to the highest levels of American
- 42:10Speaker 1: intelligence and Israeli intelligence. Let's take a listen and we'll
- 42:13Speaker 1: get both of your reactions.
- 42:14Speaker 5: He clearly had connections to the upper the highest levels
- 42:19Speaker 5: of American intelligence. He clearly had connections to the highest
- 42:23Speaker 5: levels of Israeli intelligence. In fact, one of the interesting stories,
- 42:26Speaker 5: one of the interesting things the Epstein saga reveals about,
- 42:29Speaker 5: and I try to make this point is one of
- 42:31Speaker 5: the reason why I'm always careful and I say there
- 42:34Speaker 5: are some elements within the Israeli government who don't like
- 42:38Speaker 5: our peace process, because there are a lot of elements
- 42:39Speaker 5: within the Israeli government that actually do like our peace process.
- 42:42Speaker 5: They recognize that this indefinite campaign is not good for them.
- 42:46Speaker 5: Either the Epstein thing is interesting because as much as
- 42:50Speaker 5: I know, you know, Prime Minister nt Yahoo not a
- 42:53Speaker 5: particularly popular person in the United States of America right now,
- 42:59Speaker 5: Epstein seems to be connected to the elements of the
- 43:02Speaker 5: Israeli deep state that were left of center. Like I've
- 43:05Speaker 5: always found that fascinating. It wasn't like he was super
- 43:09Speaker 5: connected to the right of center of Israeli politics.
- 43:13Speaker 1: So an interesting clip there, you know, both Conft well,
- 43:16Speaker 1: at least you know he's the highest fewest official on
- 43:18Speaker 1: record to say connections to the US intelligence and to
- 43:21Speaker 1: Israeli intelligence never been confirmed before either by the most
- 43:24Speaker 1: actually been denied by Mosad and definitely also been denied
- 43:27Speaker 1: by the US intelligence. But he also seems to try
- 43:29Speaker 1: and to separate Epstein from the current coalition government in
- 43:33Speaker 1: leading Israel. Congressman Condom. I'm just curious for your reaction considering,
- 43:36Speaker 1: you know, these comments from the vice presidents.
- 43:38Speaker 9: All, he's not a pundit, he's the sitting vice president.
- 43:41Speaker 9: He could release the remaining files, he could declassify the
- 43:45Speaker 9: documents and explain to the American public what exactly happened
- 43:49Speaker 9: with Epstein, who he was. He should if he believes this,
- 43:52Speaker 9: he has an obligation to release the files and have
- 43:55Speaker 9: a report on Epstein's tied to intelligence. And this is
- 43:59Speaker 9: a state under line where he politicizes everything. Oh that
- 44:02Speaker 9: were connected to the left, not the right, but the revant.
- 44:06Speaker 3: But anyway, But the relevant.
- 44:08Speaker 9: Point is, Okay, why isn't he taking action? Instead he
- 44:11Speaker 9: was in the situation room covering up at every step
- 44:15Speaker 9: of the way the release of the files and transparency, and.
- 44:19Speaker 8: To some degree he's just admitting or curating what's in
- 44:22Speaker 8: the files.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Right.
- 44:23Speaker 8: We got an audio tape now of Ahoud Barock asking
- 44:26Speaker 8: Jeffrey Epstein while Ahudbrock was still the defense minister for Israel,
- 44:30Speaker 8: how am I going to make money? What's my grift
- 44:33Speaker 8: going to be on the outside once I'm no longer
- 44:35Speaker 8: a public official? And you get Epstein telling him, well,
- 44:39Speaker 8: think of everybody who owes you something because of your
- 44:41Speaker 8: public position and leverage. That told him to get on
- 44:44Speaker 8: the boarder pallunteer. Right, So, and that's all audio. So
- 44:48Speaker 8: for the vice president to admit that it's no big revelation,
- 44:51Speaker 8: I think it's a political admission on his part that
- 44:54Speaker 8: it's he's being tainted. It's toxic his association with the
- 44:59Speaker 8: present cident and this administration that's trying to cover these
- 45:02Speaker 8: things up. So he's giving you something that's already known.
- 45:07Speaker 8: But also Epstein was he met with Obama's CIA director,
- 45:12Speaker 8: you know, acting CIA director. Can't remember his name, right, Barns, Yeah,
- 45:16Speaker 8: that's right. So obviously he was tied to the highest levels.
- 45:20Speaker 8: That stuff needs to come out as right.
- 45:22Speaker 9: I just to take Van seriously, not much more concerned
- 45:24Speaker 9: Massy is going to be the nominee. On the other side,
- 45:26Speaker 9: I mean, look, the vance was tainted with Epstein. He's
- 45:31Speaker 9: literally running the cover up for Epstein. He's been tainted
- 45:35Speaker 9: on this war in Iran. He's literally now cheerleading, and
- 45:38Speaker 9: he's been tainted on Israel, as even he knows. So
- 45:41Speaker 9: he's going out well, no, no, no, I'm not terrible
- 45:44Speaker 9: on Epstein. No, no, no, I'm not terrible on Israel.
- 45:46Speaker 9: But you know it's actually a contradiction to some of
- 45:49Speaker 9: the things he said before he had to do.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Donald Trump spidding no question conson.
- 45:53Speaker 2: I'm curious connorson Massey, I'm curious if what you learned
- 45:57Speaker 2: in the Epstein files changed your worldview at all, because
- 46:00Speaker 2: you know, as a leftist I'm looking at this, I'm like, oh,
- 46:02Speaker 2: a bunch of billionaires showing a lot of class solidarity here.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Very much comports with my view, although it was much
- 46:07Speaker 2: more explicit than perhaps I even had imagined. You're giving
- 46:11Speaker 2: the examples of like, hey, let's connect you with Palenti. Here,
- 46:13Speaker 2: here's you know, a country's resources you can go and exploit,
- 46:16Speaker 2: et cetera. But I wonder, as a libertarian, if it
- 46:18Speaker 2: shifted your view or if it changed your perspective at all.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Looking at some of the revelations here.
- 46:24Speaker 8: Well, I joke, I tell people more of a conspiracy
- 46:28Speaker 8: theorist than I was before I got elected. Now that
- 46:31Speaker 8: they let me in the skiff and I can hear
- 46:33Speaker 8: the top secret stuff, I'm like, yeah, well that was true.
- 46:37Speaker 8: But my opinion on the Epstein thing definitely has shifted
- 46:40Speaker 8: over time.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Like I you know.
- 46:42Speaker 8: In Congress, people want you to solve healthcare, they want
- 46:45Speaker 8: you to take care of taxes, national defense, all of
- 46:49Speaker 8: this stuff, And so I didn't give it enough attention.
- 46:52Speaker 4: For the first several years.
- 46:53Speaker 8: It was one of those things to me on the internet,
- 46:55Speaker 8: maybe it's a conspiracy. And then as I started paying attention,
- 46:59Speaker 8: and then particularly when I saw that Pambondy did sort
- 47:02Speaker 8: of this spoof, almost a caricature of releasing these binders.
- 47:06Speaker 8: And then I personally asked Pambondy to her face at
- 47:10Speaker 8: a dinner, when are you going to release the rest
- 47:12Speaker 8: of the Epstein files, just as and I looked her
- 47:14Speaker 8: in the face. And her answer to me was, oh,
- 47:17Speaker 8: there's nothing left but child, you know, sexual exploitation material,
- 47:21Speaker 8: and you'd be a pervert if you'd want to see
- 47:23Speaker 8: any of that stuff. And she tried to shut me
- 47:25Speaker 8: down that way, and I thought, all right, there's there
- 47:28Speaker 8: there right.
- 47:28Speaker 4: That's what raised my suspicion.
- 47:31Speaker 8: And then in the last summer, they said closing the case,
- 47:35Speaker 8: no prosecutions, there's nothing here, it's done. And that's when
- 47:39Speaker 8: Row and I said, no, it's not done, and we
- 47:41Speaker 8: filed the bill. But that moment, that audio tape of
- 47:47Speaker 8: Epstein talking to Ahudbarock, it gave me some insight into
- 47:52Speaker 8: Jeffrey Epstein. That's when I decided he probably didn't kill
- 47:57Speaker 8: himself like he had so much levery. I believe he
- 48:01Speaker 8: thought his time in the prison was temporary. Either he
- 48:04Speaker 8: had enough blackmail material or he was friends with enough people.
- 48:07Speaker 8: If you just sat there and didn't say too much
- 48:09Speaker 8: that they would eventually get him out. And so that's
- 48:13Speaker 8: the one thing that also transitioned in my mind. I
- 48:15Speaker 8: went from Okay, maybe this is a conspiracy that he
- 48:20Speaker 8: was killed or he's still alive or whatever, to no,
- 48:23Speaker 8: that's probably true. He is probably killed or somehow sprung
- 48:26Speaker 8: from the jail because he had that much leverage over
- 48:29Speaker 8: these powerful people.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Interesting. So one of the things you mentioned there
- 48:32Speaker 1: is blackmail. The vice president also addressing a claim that
- 48:36Speaker 1: the president is being blackmail. Obviously this connects to the
- 48:38Speaker 1: war in Iran, which you're both against as well. Let's
- 48:40Speaker 1: take a listen to that. We'll get your reaction.
- 48:42Speaker 5: What I have seen, and I've looked at most of
- 48:44Speaker 5: the files is that they're just wasn't dispositive evidence, and
- 48:51Speaker 5: if that dispositive evidence ever existed, it was probably destroyed
- 48:54Speaker 5: after two thousand and six, two thousand and seven. Now,
- 48:56Speaker 5: look again, in our defense, Yes, was there some you know,
- 49:00Speaker 5: bitching and moaning, and was there some back and forth, Yes,
- 49:03Speaker 5: but there we eventually collected six million documents as part
- 49:09Speaker 5: of the effort the president. People say the president was
- 49:13Speaker 5: forced into releasing the documents. Like again, the idea that
- 49:17Speaker 5: Donald Trump could not have killed that legislation, especially with
- 49:20Speaker 5: the United States Senate, is a joke. He absolutely could
- 49:23Speaker 5: have killed it.
- 49:24Speaker 4: What did he do?
- 49:24Speaker 5: He actually said, no, we're going to release these files.
- 49:27Speaker 5: He thought, you know, he was annoyed by the story.
- 49:29Speaker 5: He was annoyed by the Democrats accusing him of doing
- 49:32Speaker 5: things bad. By the way, like, do I think there
- 49:35Speaker 5: is any I've never seen a single piece of credible
- 49:39Speaker 5: evidence that the president of the United States engaged in
- 49:41Speaker 5: wrongdoing with minors.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Ever, so that was the claim there about blackmail. It
- 49:46Speaker 1: is later connected also to the war with Iran. I'm curious,
- 49:49Speaker 1: you know, for both of your reactions, because the Epstein files,
- 49:51Speaker 1: transparency becomes a political crisis, and of course the war
- 49:54Speaker 1: gets launched with Iran. It's impossible not to at least
- 49:56Speaker 1: look at that and be like, is there some connection,
- 49:58Speaker 1: Like what exactly is how in Congress mc conna curistory reaction.
- 50:02Speaker 9: Well, I think they both are terrible decisions. The way
- 50:06Speaker 9: you believe that he went into Iran to distract from
- 50:10Speaker 9: the Epstein No, I don't think it was that. But
- 50:13Speaker 9: I think he broke a fundamental ledge of not getting
- 50:17Speaker 9: into foreign wars. But he got talked into conquest, and
- 50:21Speaker 9: he saw what happened in Venezuela and he said, okay,
- 50:24Speaker 9: I can turn around the regime in Venezuela. I was
- 50:26Speaker 9: opposed to what he did in Venezuela, and he thought
- 50:29Speaker 9: he could just march into Iran and ultimately betrayed his
- 50:33Speaker 9: fundamental promise to the country of not getting into foreign wars.
- 50:36Speaker 8: I know it's easy to pick apart something like a
- 50:39Speaker 8: Joe Rogan interview, but I have to take issue with
- 50:42Speaker 8: the fact that he said they found six million files.
- 50:44Speaker 8: Why have they released only three million? And then also
- 50:47Speaker 8: the vice president says he's read or seen most of them.
- 50:50Speaker 8: I don't believe that. I've spent hours at the DOJ
- 50:53Speaker 8: and we barely just like scratching the surface. Three million
- 50:56Speaker 8: files is hard to consume, and then to connect all
- 50:59Speaker 8: the dots, so.
- 51:01Speaker 4: That on its face the claim that he makes there,
- 51:04Speaker 4: and then.
- 51:04Speaker 8: Also the ridiculous claim that the president this was something
- 51:07Speaker 8: the president wanted to do or wanted to do is fosse.
- 51:11Speaker 8: If he still wanted to do it, he would direct
- 51:13Speaker 8: his attorney general and acting Attorney General to just go
- 51:16Speaker 8: ahead and release all this stuff.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Right when is a transition to talk about this amendment
- 51:24Speaker 2: that was a big vote in the House yesterday. Congressman Massey,
- 51:27Speaker 2: you offered this amendment, we can put d one up
- 51:30Speaker 2: on the screen here. Ultimately, it failed, but created quite
- 51:33Speaker 2: a lot of intrigue in the Democratic caucus. In particular,
- 51:36Speaker 2: you are the only Republican that voted yes on this amendment,
- 51:40Speaker 2: which cut all funding for Israel. You actually had a
- 51:43Speaker 2: narrow majority of Democrats who did vote for the proposal,
- 51:46Speaker 2: which is just such a sea change in the positioning
- 51:49Speaker 2: of the Democratic Party. I mean, previously, the relationship with
- 51:53Speaker 2: Israel was really lockstep across the board. So I'm curious
- 51:57Speaker 2: for your reaction to how this vote broke down, and
- 52:00Speaker 2: if you're surprised that none of your colleagues are where
- 52:03Speaker 2: you are right now on this issue.
- 52:05Speaker 8: Well, the reason I was able to get this vote
- 52:08Speaker 8: on the floor of the House I sincerely wanted to vote.
- 52:10Speaker 8: I offered three amendments to defund foreign aid to Egypt,
- 52:13Speaker 8: foreign aid to Jordan, and foreign aid to Israel, and
- 52:17Speaker 8: the Republican leadership, to my surprise, allowed me to get
- 52:20Speaker 8: the vote on Israel. But I think that's because they
- 52:24Speaker 8: made a political calculation. I believe it's a miscalculation, but
- 52:27Speaker 8: they made a political calculation that this would be a
- 52:29Speaker 8: hard vote for Democrats, and it did turn out to
- 52:31Speaker 8: be a hard vote for Democrats. It should have been
- 52:34Speaker 8: a hard vote for Republicans because now they've all locked
- 52:38Speaker 8: into this idea that American taxpayers should give weapons and
- 52:42Speaker 8: billions of dollars. I pointed out in my floor speech,
- 52:45Speaker 8: we spend more on offensive weapons to Israel than we
- 52:48Speaker 8: do on homeless veterans in the United States, and so
- 52:52Speaker 8: every Republican has voted to send offensive weapons to Israel
- 52:56Speaker 8: three point three billion dollars. The vote was successful, though
- 53:01Speaker 8: my litmus test. We've had votes like this in the past.
- 53:05Speaker 8: You get maybe six or ten people to vote for
- 53:07Speaker 8: amendments like this. In fact, my vote to defund Jordan
- 53:10Speaker 8: got six votes. But this was different. This moment in
- 53:14Speaker 8: time is different because you can't objectively look at what's
- 53:18Speaker 8: happening in Gaza and say that there's no moral hazard
- 53:21Speaker 8: here for American taxpayers. Seventy thousand people have died in
- 53:25Speaker 8: a country of two million people. I mean, it's it's incredible,
- 53:30Speaker 8: it's horrific, and so but the fact that I thought,
- 53:35Speaker 8: let me just say, my own secret number in my
- 53:37Speaker 8: head was people were like, how many votes are you
- 53:40Speaker 8: going to get? I would say dozens, because I thought
- 53:42Speaker 8: I would get twenty four votes and sixty. If I
- 53:46Speaker 8: got sixty, I would have considered it a success. And
- 53:49Speaker 8: one hundred was beyond what I imagined we could get.
- 53:53Speaker 8: But eventually Nancy Pelosi endorsed the amended.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Now it was shock.
- 53:58Speaker 8: I can only say that because I lost my prime
- 54:00Speaker 8: like I think part of the reason I lost my primaries, Rotekanach.
- 54:10Speaker 8: But you know, Nancy Pelosi came out for it, the
- 54:12Speaker 8: minority whip came out for it, but the minority leader
- 54:18Speaker 8: came out against it. So it really did split the Democrats.
- 54:23Speaker 8: I think in time, this for the one hundred and
- 54:26Speaker 8: three Democrats and myself who voted not to send this
- 54:29Speaker 8: money to Israel, it's as time goes on, that's going
- 54:32Speaker 8: to be a better and better vote. And the people
- 54:35Speaker 8: that were on the other side of that, including all
- 54:37Speaker 8: of my conference except for me, are going.
- 54:39Speaker 4: To regret this vote.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Congress Mcconnach, Yeah, curious for your react. This was a
- 54:42Speaker 1: major intrademocratic war. The House Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries, who
- 54:47Speaker 1: voted for you the majority of Whip, who then, of course,
- 54:50Speaker 1: you know, said that they would cut to vote eight.
- 54:52Speaker 1: I'm curious for your reaction here about this split within
- 54:56Speaker 1: the Democratic Caucus. You were an original leader on a
- 54:59Speaker 1: movie meant like this to watch a significant portion of
- 55:02Speaker 1: your Democratic colleagues eventually come to your position. What does
- 55:06Speaker 1: that foretell for the future of the Democratic Party.
- 55:09Speaker 9: I was joking with Thomas that we had more caucus
- 55:11Speaker 9: meetings discussing his amendment than any Democratic legislation.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Wow, that's crazy.
- 55:16Speaker 9: Yeah, like Sunday afternoon calls to discuss the Massi Amendment
- 55:20Speaker 9: and caucus meetings. But this should have been a such
- 55:24Speaker 9: a simple vote. I mean, there are we have to
- 55:26Speaker 9: go beyond this. But obviously we shouldn't be giving them
- 55:29Speaker 9: US tax dollar aid for military weapons. In my view,
- 55:33Speaker 9: we shouldn't be giving them military weapons to be killing civilians,
- 55:37Speaker 9: and we need to be sanctioning the banks and government officials,
- 55:41Speaker 9: or engaged in the settlement and work on recognizing the
- 55:45Speaker 9: Palestinian state. But in my view, you had one hundred
- 55:49Speaker 9: and three folks, and the new Congress you're going to
- 55:52Speaker 9: have even more, and that it's going to become a very,
- 55:55Speaker 9: very small minority eventually that is going to be saying
- 55:58Speaker 9: let's just have a continue to Israel.
- 56:00Speaker 2: It's pretty wild to see Nancy Pelosi vote for it
- 56:04Speaker 2: and Haiqem Jeffries vote against it, and Pelosi people are
- 56:08Speaker 2: sharing all kinds of clips of her now saying like,
- 56:11Speaker 2: if the capital were to crumble, the one thing that
- 56:12Speaker 2: would remain is our you know, solidarity with Israel. And
- 56:16Speaker 2: now here she is on her way out, She's like, yeah,
- 56:18Speaker 2: we'll vote to defund this, and I think she sees
- 56:20Speaker 2: the writing on the wall. She's a very savvy political
- 56:22Speaker 2: operator of where things are going.
- 56:24Speaker 3: I cannot, for the life of me, really understand HIKEM.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Jeffries calculus here, because while there is such a split
- 56:31Speaker 2: in the House Democratic Caucus, there is not a split
- 56:35Speaker 2: among the Democratic base overwhelmingly. You know, it is now
- 56:40Speaker 2: a small minority that want to maintain the status quo
- 56:44Speaker 2: with regard to our relationship with Israel. So you know,
- 56:46Speaker 2: what were those internal conversations like to the extent that
- 56:49Speaker 2: you can share some of the details, because it's just
- 56:51Speaker 2: very hard for me to understand why any cynical politician
- 56:55Speaker 2: would look at this landscape on the Democratic side at
- 56:57Speaker 2: this point and say I want to stay with this
- 57:00Speaker 2: position that has like fifteen percent support among my own
- 57:03Speaker 2: voters at this point.
- 57:06Speaker 9: Look, people were saying, oh, you're going to cut the
- 57:09Speaker 9: Middle East diplomacy program. I said, by definition, that's probably
- 57:13Speaker 9: one of the programs that should be cut through something you.
- 57:18Speaker 4: Want to look at.
- 57:19Speaker 9: Government don't work or something. But beyond that, okay, fine,
- 57:23Speaker 9: you want to have those programs. That was less than
- 57:26Speaker 9: one percent of the AID. And you could have voted
- 57:28Speaker 9: for Massy's bill and then still said an amendment saying well,
- 57:32Speaker 9: we want to keep the program for Middle East pace.
- 57:36Speaker 9: But I do think it's a mistake for anyone who
- 57:39Speaker 9: voted this way.
- 57:40Speaker 4: Morally but also politically.
- 57:42Speaker 9: If you look at Claire Veldez, you look at Brad Lander,
- 57:46Speaker 9: you look at Millot, you look at an Alilia, you
- 57:49Speaker 9: look at Adam Amawi, you look at the Platinum before
- 57:53Speaker 9: the scandals, Abdul. The driving line in these issues is
- 57:57Speaker 9: the funding on Israel and Gaza, and the Democrats want
- 58:00Speaker 9: to kind of whitewash that part.
- 58:02Speaker 4: Oh is oroan or.
- 58:03Speaker 9: These candidates won because of affordability. They won because they
- 58:06Speaker 9: wanted free childcare, frees the rent or medicare for all.
- 58:09Speaker 9: All that matters, But the first point of the animating
- 58:14Speaker 9: difference that is motivating these candidates and the energy is Israel.
- 58:19Speaker 9: I mean a lot would have been no shot to
- 58:21Speaker 9: be to get to get was good on all the issues.
- 58:23Speaker 9: She was for medicare for all, living wage. Why did
- 58:26Speaker 9: she lose? She lost on this issue?
- 58:29Speaker 4: Wow?
- 58:29Speaker 9: And I just think that the political leadership hasn't grappled
- 58:35Speaker 9: with that reality.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Congressman Matt, Yeah, I was come to you because you
- 58:38Speaker 1: were the only Republican voted for it. I knew you
- 58:40Speaker 1: speak to many of your colleagues. You and I both
- 58:42Speaker 1: know you're not the only person who thinks something like this.
- 58:44Speaker 1: So why do they all, well, like, why do they
- 58:47Speaker 1: still see political utility in supporting Israel?
- 58:50Speaker 4: Because I just lost my election.
- 58:52Speaker 8: I mean thirty million dollars and ninety eight percent of
- 58:55Speaker 8: that came from APAK or Republican Jewish Coalition or Miriam Adelson.
- 59:01Speaker 8: It was all the race against me was fueled and
- 59:05Speaker 8: funded by the Israeli lobby, and they made an example
- 59:08Speaker 8: out of me, and it worked. I mean, you're getting
- 59:10Speaker 8: senators who are changing their positions, You're getting House representatives
- 59:15Speaker 8: folks who are just going underground on the Republican side
- 59:18Speaker 8: not saying anything about it. But the one thing I
- 59:20Speaker 8: want to talk about. Two things they're trying to They
- 59:23Speaker 8: realize this.
- 59:24Speaker 4: Is a political liability, the Israeli lobby.
- 59:26Speaker 8: So they're trying to take away the transparency of this
- 59:29Speaker 8: money that's being spent, and they're trying to integrate it
- 59:32Speaker 8: into our military budget, so it won't be a line
- 59:34Speaker 8: item that Congress votes on. It'll be inside of one
- 59:37Speaker 8: of these giant military omnibus type programs and we won't
- 59:40Speaker 8: even know because we'll just instead of giving them gift
- 59:43Speaker 8: certificates for Raitheon and Lockheed Martin, will give them the
- 59:47Speaker 8: bombs from Raitheon, and that would developed.
- 59:50Speaker 4: Them with us right almost integrated.
- 59:52Speaker 8: Well, that's the second part is that Section two nineteen
- 59:55Speaker 8: of the NDAA is now it's very toxic, and I'm
- 1:00:00Speaker 8: trying to get a vote on that to strip that
- 1:00:03Speaker 8: Section two nineteen is I think what Rose was alluding to,
- 1:00:06Speaker 8: which is integration of our intelligence and military with supply
- 1:00:10Speaker 8: chains to supply lines and technology with Israel.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: It's a country of ten million people.
- 1:00:18Speaker 8: It's not even like NATO, where they're at least the
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: third of the size of us, and there might be
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: some reciprocal arrangement that could help in a world war.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: That's not going to help with Israel. Can't help us in.
- 1:00:29Speaker 8: A war of a scale where our sovereignty is affected.
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: It's only going to hurt us anyways. I'm trying to
- 1:00:36Speaker 8: get an amendment in order to strip to nineteen from
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: the NDAA, and if I can't get that done or
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: they don't allow us to have that vote, I think
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: they're jeopardizing the NDAA. That stands for National Defense Authorization Act.
- 1:00:49Speaker 8: It's one of the most pass pieces of legislation, like
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: a farm bill or a highway bill, that passes every year.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Commerson masse I wanted to ask you some about that
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: money that was spent against you, and I think you're right.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: They definitely wanted to make an example of you. A
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: lot of that money came from the Israel lobby. They're
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: now trying to do a similar thing with Abdulah Sayad
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: in the Michigan primary on the Democratic side. I think
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: fifty million dollars have come in and again, Ads have
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: nothing to do with Israel.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: They're claiming he's the sexist.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Because he one time mildly criticized Michelle Obama. I mean,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: this is the sort of stuff that they're going with here,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: and I do wonder, you know, again, from your perspective
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: as a libertarian, if that changes any of your view
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: of the ability for democracy to coexist with billionaires, the
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: impact of money and politics, you know, what are your
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: views there? Has that shaped your philosophy or thinking about
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: how we handle this flood of money, which is not
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: just Israel Liab, is big pharma, its big oil, it's
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: the banks, it's all sorts of interests.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: Are you asking that?
- 1:01:48Speaker 8: Did the ass whipping I took from the billionaires change
- 1:01:50Speaker 8: my perspective?
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: I should have asked it that way.
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: It was a beat.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: How are you feeling about billionaires in these days?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:02:00Speaker 8: Well, you know, we were able to raise twenty million,
- 1:02:03Speaker 8: and so we had enough money. It's just they played
- 1:02:07Speaker 8: dirtier than we were willing to play. They made artificial
- 1:02:09Speaker 8: intelligence ads that showed me in a three way relationship
- 1:02:13Speaker 8: with AOC and ilhan Omar, and you know, people fell
- 1:02:18Speaker 8: for those ads they thought they were real. So again
- 1:02:20Speaker 8: there's another libertarian conundrum that I have in addition to
- 1:02:23Speaker 8: campaign finance, which I do equate with speech but also
- 1:02:26Speaker 8: here's another.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Example of speech.
- 1:02:28Speaker 8: Should they be able to make ai ads and run
- 1:02:31Speaker 8: them with my image in it? There you have to
- 1:02:35Speaker 8: think very carefully about the legislative solutions that you don't
- 1:02:38Speaker 8: make the situation worse. I think I could be okay
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: with campaign finance. That said, if you're running a congressional race.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: Only the money.
- 1:02:47Speaker 8: The only people who can donate are the people who
- 1:02:50Speaker 8: can vote in your district. Now, Miriam Madelson may have
- 1:02:54Speaker 8: moved to Kentucky.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Casino on top of your house.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: I think that is interesting because I know in the
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: past you've pushed for transparency, which I think is an
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: important first step. But you know, at this point there's
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: a lot of mass education about who a pack is
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: and what they are, et cetera. It's not that transparency,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: you know, isn't there necessarily. But the problem is that
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: just when you have so much money, of course it's
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: going to impact outcomes. And we can see it, you know,
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: in the in this vote from yesterday too. So many
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: of your colleagues take money from APAC or other similar groups,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: so many of the Democratic Caucus. You know, it should
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: be based on the Democratic base, It should be overwhelming
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: and not a problem for Democratic congressmen to vote, you know,
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: for an amendment like that, so you can see the
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: impact of this money in the legislative process, not just electorally.
- 1:03:42Speaker 8: Well, ultimately, there was a win in my loss, which
- 1:03:45Speaker 8: is I knew they would have to spend insane amounts
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: of money. This is the most expensive congressional primary in
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: the history of the United States, and I knew that
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: if they would have to spend insane amounts of money,
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: and if they did an I law, it would sort
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: of proved the point that they have too much influence
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: in our own government that the Israeli lobby does. Now
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: they'll argue these are American citizens or dual citizens who
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: are donating the money, But I would still say they're
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: operating on behalf of a foreign country, and so they
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: are foreign agents. I think they should have to register
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: as such. But there was a victory in it. It's
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: really there was a big waking up. I don't think
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: we would have gotten as many votes on my amendment
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: if people hadn't watched me lose because there was thirty
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: million dollars of Israeli lobby money poured into a little
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: Kentucky race.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't know what the solution is. And
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: then also on these ai ads.
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: This fall is going to be the wild West, like
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: I got a taste of it in my own race,
- 1:04:44Speaker 8: and you don't.
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: These weren't online ads.
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: These were like local you know, Fox Cable affiliates running
- 1:04:51Speaker 8: these ads, so not a lot of people saw what's happening.
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: But this November, both parties are going to run the
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: most ridiculous ai ads. And if you write a piece
- 1:04:59Speaker 8: of lledge that says you have to put a disclaimer
- 1:05:02Speaker 8: on there, it doesn't help.
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: That gives them a safe harbor to do anything. They
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: could show you.
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: Doing anything and say, by the way, this was made
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: with artificial intelligence, and people are still going to believe
- 1:05:12Speaker 8: it because people watch videos and they don't read the
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: little stuff at the bottom.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Yeah. My last question for you starting running a bit
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: short on time is about Senator Mitch McConnell. Do you
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: believe the proof of life photo and do you there's
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: a lot of speculation that they're continuing to keep him
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: in his Senate seat in order to prevent you from
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: being able to run or in a special primary or
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: special election in the state.
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: Your reaction, well, the special term would be less than
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: six months. Sure, and I'm not interested for that. I
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: just broke news. I guess to help people.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: You did, Yeah, Now they didn't come clean about McConn.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Tell us what's going on.
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: I mean, I think the public does deserve to see
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: somebody walk up to a podium and say something. Now,
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: whether we can believe that this day in a is
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: also another question. Yeah right, But you know I've said
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: I'm going to introduce term limit legislation called three strokes,
- 1:06:09Speaker 8: and you're out because we've seen this in the House.
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: We saw one of our colleagues disappear for four months. No,
- 1:06:17Speaker 8: by the way, he won his primary and I lost mine.
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: Maybe that was the answer. He was depressed, right, depressed,
- 1:06:22Speaker 8: which is a catch all. It could mean, I mean,
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: what do you do when you're depressed. Maybe you drink,
- 1:06:27Speaker 8: Maybe you're doing something. I'm not saying that he did.
- 1:06:30Speaker 8: But and then we had Kay Granger who was basically
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: had dementia and was still a congress person for many months.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: One hurt, the one who was in a memory care facility.
- 1:06:42Speaker 12: Yes, yes, remember that, yes, yes, uh, you know we
- 1:06:46Speaker 12: had yesterday we marked up a bill in Judiciary called
- 1:06:50Speaker 12: the National Fossils Act, and I asked him if this
- 1:06:53Speaker 12: was about senators?
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: This is what?
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Well, that is.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: Actually my last question. It's kind of for both of you.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: I'm you know, we get every time we do an Ama,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: we get a question. Do you think that Thomas Massy
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: and Rokonic could run for president together and have some
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: bipartisan kumbaya.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: I've been skeptical of.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: That because I know you guys collaborate on a lot,
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: but I also know there are a lot of ideological
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: differences there would be hard to sort out.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: But what are you thinking about your future politics?
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: Still?
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: In your future senate run, presidential run?
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: What are the sorts of things that you're podcast all
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: sorts of things you don't do a lot.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: Well, I'm not going to rule anything out, how about that?
- 1:07:33Speaker 8: But the political terrain right now in Republican primaries is
- 1:07:37Speaker 8: uphill for me. Yeah, the war and I ran. This
- 1:07:41Speaker 8: doesn't get reported enough. Is seventy percent popular among Republicans?
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Yeah? Still is.
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: And you know that's in Kentucky where you have Ram
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: Paul and Thomas Massey. In Oklahoma, where you don't have us,
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: it's eighty percent popular. According to the polster that I used,
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: so you know there's still And then you saw the
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: vote on Israel sending the four or a people. Republicans
- 1:08:01Speaker 8: say they're conservative, they all want to send money overseas,
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: but then they have a little asterisk and they say, except,
- 1:08:05Speaker 8: we'll give Israel as much money as they need, you know,
- 1:08:09Speaker 8: and we'll empty our coffers for that. So that I
- 1:08:12Speaker 8: do have a few political positions that I think are
- 1:08:16Speaker 8: going to be right in four.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: Years, eight years.
- 1:08:20Speaker 8: Maybe it only takes two years, but right now I'm
- 1:08:23Speaker 8: against the grain of where you can win certain races.
- 1:08:29Speaker 8: So yeah, I'm going to watch for the terrain see
- 1:08:32Speaker 8: if it changes. Do I eventually get the high ground
- 1:08:35Speaker 8: or not? But in the meantime, I am just so
- 1:08:37Speaker 8: happy to have my life back. I should send Miriam
- 1:08:41Speaker 8: Madelson a thank you card.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: Sometimes these things work out in a way that you
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: don't expect. So appreciate both of you guys for coming in.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: We've been wanting to have you here. We have role
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: all the time. We always appreciate your time too, but
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: to have you both together, you really are sure.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Exit interview before you go, you'll come back here.
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: Yes, and Roue and I have decided to run against
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: each other.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: I thought you were going to endorse my reelection. You
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: did that for me.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: We see what that happened, Like the Dynamic Duo themselves.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Seriously, Yeah, I'd love for you to come back so
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: I can fight with you more about libertarianisms.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, we'll do it.
