- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm wondering if there are things echoing in your head
- 0:02Speaker 1: right now that are stopping you from living your best
- 0:05Speaker 1: life because you will outsilence them by speaking back. This
- 0:11Speaker 1: is the end. You're gonna lose everything. You won't come
- 0:18Speaker 1: out of this. You're not smart enough, you're not bright enough.
- 0:25Speaker 1: You waited too late. You should have started younger. Those
- 0:29Speaker 1: are the kind of voices that we all live with.
- 0:32Speaker 1: For me, our ministry was growing. We lived in a
- 0:36Speaker 1: nice house, nice house we've ever had, driving a nice car,
- 0:41Speaker 1: living from paycheck to paycheck, with making it every night.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I lay down at night after she goes to sleep,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I hear the voices. Those voices are the kind of
- 0:58Speaker 1: voices that stopped you from buying into your own life,
- 1:03Speaker 1: stop you from enjoying the good times and believing that
- 1:06Speaker 1: they will last. The anxiety and the pressure and the
- 1:10Speaker 1: strength that it took to get from where you were
- 1:12Speaker 1: or where you are doesn't go away, so you don't
- 1:17Speaker 1: really believe it's yours. You're driving it, but you don't
- 1:21Speaker 1: really believe it's yours, and you're scared to relax and
- 1:25Speaker 1: really rest in whatever it is or whoever it is,
- 1:33Speaker 1: because everything else went away. Maybe this will go away too.
- 1:39Speaker 1: We talk about faith for bad times, but you also
- 1:42Speaker 1: need faith in good times to actually believe the goodness
- 1:49Speaker 1: of God is not going anywhere. To silence the voices
- 1:56Speaker 1: they keep saying, you'll never make it, You're about to
- 1:59Speaker 1: lose everything. Fear gets in your heart. See, I know
- 2:05Speaker 1: what it's like to be poor, and I know what
- 2:08Speaker 1: it's like to be without, and I know what it's
- 2:10Speaker 1: like not to have dinner for my kids. Returning to that,
- 2:16Speaker 1: the idea that that could happen is terrifying, and the
- 2:21Speaker 1: enemy always has some sort of tool or memory or
- 2:25Speaker 1: situation that he uses to terrify you. Even though the
- 2:29Speaker 1: good times are here and the dream is there, the
- 2:32Speaker 1: blessing is there, and the goodness is there, but there's
- 2:36Speaker 1: always this haunting, nagging defiance that says, don't you relax.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You're not worth it, you don't deserve it, and it's
- 2:50Speaker 1: not going to last. Resting in what God has done,
- 2:57Speaker 1: it's often more difficult than received what God has done
- 3:03Speaker 1: to rest in it, to believe that it will last,
- 3:08Speaker 1: To believe that you will last, at love will last,
- 3:10Speaker 1: that life will last, that good times will come, that
- 3:14Speaker 1: things will be better. It's difficult because of the voices.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Then you are what you eat, and the voices are
- 3:20Speaker 1: the food that feeds your faith or fear. So if
- 3:26Speaker 1: you want to change your diet, you can change your outcome.
- 3:33Speaker 1: But you have to stop talking to yourself the way
- 3:35Speaker 1: you do, because if you continue to talk to yourself
- 3:39Speaker 1: the way you do, you will always be where you've
- 3:41Speaker 1: always been. It is what you say within yourself that
- 3:45Speaker 1: heals you. The woman with Israel blood said to herself,
- 3:50Speaker 1: if I can but touch him of his garment, I'll
- 3:52Speaker 1: be made hole. There was no scripture to validate that
- 3:57Speaker 1: she can say. She wasn't quoting doudno me or do
- 4:00Speaker 1: numbers or anything like that. Is just something she said
- 4:04Speaker 1: to herself. There was no doctrine around it. We've never
- 4:08Speaker 1: seen that happen before. But she said to herself, if
- 4:12Speaker 1: I can but touched to him of his garment, I'll
- 4:14Speaker 1: be made whole. And although she was crawling, she kept saying,
- 4:19Speaker 1: over and over again, if I can just touch it,
- 4:20Speaker 1: if I can just touch, if I can just touch,
- 4:22Speaker 1: if I can just touch him, And without Jesus' permission,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I was out the support of the disciples. She creeped
- 4:32Speaker 1: up on him and snatched a miracle, snatched it, snatched
- 4:40Speaker 1: it because of what she said to herself. You see
- 4:45Speaker 1: those voices that say, what you can't do, what you
- 4:47Speaker 1: can't have, what you can't be, what's not going to last,
- 4:49Speaker 1: what's not going to work, is how the enemy pulverizes
- 4:53Speaker 1: the promises of God in your life. And it takes
- 4:57Speaker 1: word to combat word. That's why when Jesus was in
- 5:01Speaker 1: the wilderness and Satan was throwing word at him, he
- 5:04Speaker 1: was throwing word back. And what we have to do
- 5:07Speaker 1: is put word on word. I'm blessed. I'm blessed in
- 5:12Speaker 1: the city, I'm blessed in the field. I'm blessed in
- 5:15Speaker 1: my uprising. I'm blessed in my down setting. I'll be
- 5:17Speaker 1: blessed in to my old age. I'll be blessed when
- 5:20Speaker 1: i'm an old man. My grandchildren will be blessed. My
- 5:23Speaker 1: body is blessed, my body is, my mind is blessed,
- 5:27Speaker 1: my head is blessed. I got this, I can handle it,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I can do it. Bring it home, heredeous. That kind
- 5:35Speaker 1: of talk, saying that to yourself, drives back the other
- 5:39Speaker 1: voices of negativity that we all have creep up behind
- 5:43Speaker 1: us and tell us that we're not capable and we're
- 5:46Speaker 1: not competent, and we're not gifted enough, and we're not
- 5:51Speaker 1: good enough, and we waited too late, or God is
- 5:54Speaker 1: punishing us to talk back to those voices shut seeing
- 5:59Speaker 1: me the pressure I was going through I was causing
- 6:08Speaker 1: because the pressure I was going through was coming from
- 6:10Speaker 1: the things that I allowed to reverberate in my head.
- 6:14Speaker 1: And I'm wondering if there are things echoing in your
- 6:17Speaker 1: head right now that are stopping you from living your
- 6:19Speaker 1: best life because you will outsilence him by speaking back.
- 6:27Speaker 1: You shall have whatever you say, so says the Word
- 6:34Speaker 1: of God. You shall have whatever you say. If it's betrayal,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you shall have whatever you say. If it's a life
- 6:44Speaker 1: without love, you shall have whatever you say. It doesn't
- 6:48Speaker 1: just work positively, it also works negatively. You shall have
- 6:52Speaker 1: whatever you say. She touched him and she was made whole,
- 6:55Speaker 1: And he says, who touched me? Which means he's oblivious
- 7:02Speaker 1: to what's going on. This is all happening in her head.
- 7:07Speaker 1: The whole thing happened in her head, and the Lord
- 7:09Speaker 1: who is on missing and ask a question who touched me?
- 7:14Speaker 1: And the disciples wanting to be important to answer to him,
- 7:17Speaker 1: said everybody touched you. He said, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 7:19Speaker 1: no no, that's not what I'm talking about. Everybody around me,
- 7:23Speaker 1: don't touch me. Everybody around me, don't touch me. You've
- 7:26Speaker 1: been said everybody around me, don't touch me. Just because
- 7:29Speaker 1: you're around me, don't mean you touch me. Somebody touched me.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Somebody touched me, And she came out from the christ
- 7:35Speaker 1: Chiefers League and said, it was me, It was me.
- 7:40Speaker 1: She got a miracle. Wow, Jesus wasn't looking because of
- 7:46Speaker 1: what she said to herself. That's what I want you
- 7:51Speaker 1: to see. And stop letting those other words question. When
- 7:57Speaker 1: I say excellent, you say excellent, excellent, excellent. The problem
- 8:04Speaker 1: is we all said the same word, but we don't
- 8:09Speaker 1: all mean the same thing, because what you call excellent
- 8:13Speaker 1: what I call excellent may be two different things. Based
- 8:17Speaker 1: on the lives we've lived, the things we've experienced, the
- 8:21Speaker 1: places we've been exposed to. Our ideas of excellent may
- 8:26Speaker 1: very drastically based on how we define excellence. The problem
- 8:32Speaker 1: with the English language is that it is limited to interpretation.
- 8:37Speaker 1: So how do you know when I say I love
- 8:39Speaker 1: you that I mean what you meant? When you said
- 8:40Speaker 1: you loved me. So we're having a conversation and I
- 8:45Speaker 1: am making an assumption that your love is my love,
- 8:48Speaker 1: and it may not be at all. Or we're planning
- 8:52Speaker 1: a banquet and I make an assumption that your excellent
- 8:56Speaker 1: is my excellent, and it may not be at all.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Because the reality about it is, your definition of excellent
- 9:06Speaker 1: rises no higher than your level of exposure, whatever you've
- 9:13Speaker 1: been exposed to. That becomes the new paradigm of what
- 9:17Speaker 1: excellent is to you, and it shifts from day to day.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And the hardest thing in the world is to have
- 9:24Speaker 1: a conversation with somebody and all you have to use
- 9:27Speaker 1: the words because I'm not sure that you mean what
- 9:33Speaker 1: I mean when I say excellent. I'm not sure that
- 9:38Speaker 1: you mean what I mean when I say love. I'm
- 9:40Speaker 1: not sure you mean what I mean when I say loyal.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I'm not sure you mean what I mean when I
- 9:50Speaker 1: say hurt. Because all we have it's worse. The reality
- 9:59Speaker 1: is we have to make up in our minds that
- 10:04Speaker 1: whatever our definition of excellence is, it's gonna change. It's
- 10:12Speaker 1: gonna get higher, it's gonna get broader, it's gonna get better,
- 10:15Speaker 1: it's going to be different, or it's gonna go down.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And a lot of it depends on who you hang
- 10:22Speaker 1: around and what you're exposed to. There are people that
- 10:25Speaker 1: take you up, there are people that bring you down.
- 10:27Speaker 1: They bring you down to their level of excellence. That's
- 10:31Speaker 1: what a job description for a hater looks like. The
- 10:35Speaker 1: job description of the hater is to bring you down
- 10:38Speaker 1: to the level that they are on, so that while
- 10:43Speaker 1: they're trying to pull you down, I'm trying to get up.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And if I'm going to get up, I have to
- 10:49Speaker 1: know that there's gonna be a cost in getting up.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to put my back to it or
- 10:53Speaker 1: it's not gonna happen. God wants somebody to work with
- 10:56Speaker 1: him and give what it takes to make it happen.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Is it worth it? Absolutely? I do not want to die.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Let me explain. I was born in between two dead babies.
- 11:13Speaker 1: The baby before me died, the baby after me died.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I was raised by dying father, and I do not
- 11:20Speaker 1: want to live my life and die. And at the
- 11:24Speaker 1: last moment of my life, I asked this question, wonder
- 11:28Speaker 1: what would have happened if I'd have pushed it a
- 11:31Speaker 1: little harder. I don't want to get down to the
- 11:35Speaker 1: end of the road and wonder what would have happened
- 11:39Speaker 1: if I'd have pushed a little harder. I don't want
- 11:42Speaker 1: to wonder that. I want to get down to the
- 11:45Speaker 1: end of the road. Like Paul and say, I fought
- 11:47Speaker 1: a good fight, I kept the faith, I finished my course,
- 11:51Speaker 1: and now later for me is a crowd of rights
- 11:54Speaker 1: and there. I don't want to get down to my
- 11:56Speaker 1: last breath and wonder what would have happened if I
- 11:59Speaker 1: went back to school, if I took a course, if
- 12:01Speaker 1: I worked a little harder, if I changed the way
- 12:03Speaker 1: I address, if I changed the way I talk to people,
- 12:05Speaker 1: if I forgave somebody, if I release somebody. I don't
- 12:08Speaker 1: want to wonder about nothing, because that it's excellence, excellence.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It's to come out with the conclusion I have no regrets.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I have no regrets. The wine he is reducing is
- 12:37Speaker 1: greater than the pain you are experiencing. And if you
- 12:41Speaker 1: allow him to take you through the process, when he
- 12:45Speaker 1: says excellent and you say excellent, they will mean the
- 12:51Speaker 1: same thing. The dying words of the thief on the cross,
- 13:00Speaker 1: what's remember me? The words of Jesus at the Last
- 13:05Speaker 1: Supper is as often as you do this, you do
- 13:09Speaker 1: this in remembrance of me. What does remember me? Remember?
- 13:18Speaker 1: Re put back together again, remember me. When we remember
- 13:28Speaker 1: what God has done, that becomes the foundation on which
- 13:32Speaker 1: we build our lives. Now, a house is not a foundation,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and nobody can live in a foundation. But it has
- 13:40Speaker 1: to have a foundation in order to be a house.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And I'm not suggesting that your life begins ends and
- 13:46Speaker 1: all through the middle is nothing but Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Because you got to take out the trash, you gotta
- 13:51Speaker 1: brush your teeth, you got to come your air, you
- 13:53Speaker 1: gotta get your nails done, you got to get your
- 13:54Speaker 1: feet done, or you're gonna cut your blankets when you
- 13:56Speaker 1: land in the bed at night. All of that happens.
- 14:00Speaker 1: But I am saying that God is the foundation. When
- 14:04Speaker 1: God delivered the children of Visua out of Egypt, he
- 14:06Speaker 1: did it as a foundation for them to remember. And
- 14:10Speaker 1: all through the whole Testament he says over and over again,
- 14:12Speaker 1: am I not the God who brought you out from
- 14:15Speaker 1: the Red sea? Am I not the God who brought
- 14:18Speaker 1: you out by my own hand and my strong arm.
- 14:21Speaker 1: It becomes a point of reference to which you face
- 14:24Speaker 1: the future remembering what he did in the past, remembering it,
- 14:29Speaker 1: putting it back together again again and again, and recreating
- 14:33Speaker 1: it as a point of reference to fight from, to stand,
- 14:36Speaker 1: to drive from, to preach from, to teach from. What
- 14:41Speaker 1: do you have to remember? It's important that you have
- 14:45Speaker 1: something to remember, something on God's resume that you know that,
- 14:49Speaker 1: you know that, you know that He did for you,
- 14:52Speaker 1: and it tells you that if God would do that,
- 14:54Speaker 1: he can do this. If he can drive back the
- 14:57Speaker 1: Red Sea and bring me across on dry land, then
- 15:00Speaker 1: he can fight you off. He can deal with their
- 15:02Speaker 1: Alakites and the Hittites and the Jefis Heights and the Gharashites.
- 15:06Speaker 1: God does certain things so you will have something to remember,
- 15:09Speaker 1: a point of reference to what you build your life upon.
- 15:13Speaker 1: And you stand on it and you say, I'm not
- 15:15Speaker 1: sure about this, and I'm not sure about that, but
- 15:18Speaker 1: this one thing I do know. You have to know this.
- 15:21Speaker 1: You have to know this, and you know it. You
- 15:24Speaker 1: have to know this when your girlfriend doesn't know it,
- 15:26Speaker 1: when your prayer warriors don't know it, when your children
- 15:28Speaker 1: don't know it, when your mama doesn't know it. Something
- 15:31Speaker 1: that you know that you know, that you know becomes
- 15:34Speaker 1: the catalysts against the trials, against the traumas, against the
- 15:38Speaker 1: sleepless knights, against the virus, against the crisis, against the
- 15:42Speaker 1: times that we're living in. We have been living in
- 15:45Speaker 1: the most perilous times that we have seen in one
- 15:48Speaker 1: hundred years. We are living in a time where nearly
- 15:51Speaker 1: seven hundred thousand people are now dead from something we
- 15:55Speaker 1: can't even see. We are fighting an invisible enemy. The
- 16:00Speaker 1: enemy has friends that has created trauma and distress until
- 16:06Speaker 1: we are overwhelmed, even when nothing else is going wrong,
- 16:09Speaker 1: just as the feeling that other people are going wrong
- 16:12Speaker 1: gives us a certain degree of stress and trauma. How
- 16:15Speaker 1: do we stand up against this unseen foe we fight
- 16:19Speaker 1: right now. I'm talking about your emotions, your will, your spirit,
- 16:22Speaker 1: your fight, your drive, your tenacity, your sense of normalcy,
- 16:27Speaker 1: your courage to get out of the house, your courage
- 16:29Speaker 1: to get out of the bed, the courage to continue
- 16:32Speaker 1: when there's a threat. Requires that there's something about God
- 16:41Speaker 1: that you have to remember. For the children of Israel,
- 16:45Speaker 1: it was the blood of the lamb that was painted
- 16:47Speaker 1: on the doorposts, and death angel passed by and said,
- 16:50Speaker 1: when I see the blood, I will pass over you.
- 16:53Speaker 1: It was walking out to the Red Sea and hearing
- 16:57Speaker 1: six hundred chosen chariots coming with chasing them down, saying
- 17:02Speaker 1: I'm going to get you back. He was going to
- 17:04Speaker 1: get them back. But let me tell you a secret,
- 17:06Speaker 1: he was also trying to get back the wealth they
- 17:08Speaker 1: take it for the wealth of the unjust had been
- 17:11Speaker 1: laid up for the just, and they had borrowed all
- 17:14Speaker 1: the gold and all the silver, and they had broken
- 17:16Speaker 1: the GDP of Egypt. It wasn't just the slaves he wanted.
- 17:20Speaker 1: He wanted the money by. He wanted the jewels, he
- 17:22Speaker 1: wanted the gold, he wanted the silver, he wanted the
- 17:25Speaker 1: things that the tabernacle would actually end up being built by.
- 17:28Speaker 1: He was trying to get it all back. He could
- 17:30Speaker 1: have got some more slaves anywhere. He was trying to
- 17:32Speaker 1: get what they had borrowed. They had borrowed. The whole
- 17:35Speaker 1: economy of Egypt was running through the Red Sea. For
- 17:40Speaker 1: the wealth of the unjustice laid up for the just.
- 17:44Speaker 1: And when God brings you out, he brings out enough
- 17:46Speaker 1: for your children. The Bible says that God put so
- 17:49Speaker 1: much wealth on them that their children had to carry
- 17:52Speaker 1: on their backs the wealth that God placed on them.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I want the kind of blessing that affects my children
- 17:58Speaker 1: and my children's children, my children's children's children. I want
- 18:03Speaker 1: my grandchildren to blow kisses at my picture when I'm
- 18:05Speaker 1: Deady's gone. I want them to be able to say,
- 18:08Speaker 1: if it hadn't been for that old man, I'd have
- 18:10Speaker 1: never been able to go to college. I'd have never
- 18:12Speaker 1: been able to get a job. I'd have never been
- 18:14Speaker 1: able to work for Google. I'd have never been able
- 18:16Speaker 1: to work for Xerox. I'd have never been able to
- 18:18Speaker 1: preach the gospel. I would have never been able to
- 18:20Speaker 1: do it. I want that for them. So I have
- 18:25Speaker 1: to have something to remember that I can count on
- 18:29Speaker 1: that won't break. And I want to ask you, what
- 18:33Speaker 1: do you remember when life get hard, when things get tough,
- 18:39Speaker 1: when friends get few? There are how to be something
- 18:42Speaker 1: in your life that you remember God brought you through,
- 18:46Speaker 1: or brought you from, or brought you out of, that
- 18:50Speaker 1: feeds you. That is the foundation that makes you to
- 18:56Speaker 1: rise above the question and turns craped yous. It's an
- 19:01Speaker 1: absolute one
