- 0:00Speaker 1: And then the President of the United States, accompanied by
- 0:03Speaker 1: Erica Kirk.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Thank you very much, everybody, Please, this is such an honor.
- 0:35Speaker 2: This is the Please be seated. This is the first time.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We've been at the new and improved Rose Garden, and
- 0:47Speaker 1: people are loving it.
- 0:48Speaker 2: They're loving it like they've not loved a lot of things.
- 0:51Speaker 2: We have the.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Presidential Walk of Fame, which you just saw and just opened,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and we wanted to get it open for this occasion,
- 1:00Speaker 1: hoping we were able to get outside, and the weather
- 1:02Speaker 1: allowed us to.
- 1:03Speaker 2: They're supposed to be a terrible rainy day.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I was telling Eric and God was watching, and he
- 1:09Speaker 1: didn't want that for Charlie. He just didn't want that.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So it's really beautiful. Couldn't be more beautiful. Today we're
- 1:21Speaker 1: here to honor and remember a fearless warrior for liberty,
- 1:25Speaker 1: beloved leader who galvanized the next generation like nobody I've
- 1:30Speaker 1: ever seen before, and an American patriot of the deepest conviction,
- 1:35Speaker 1: the finest quality, and the highest caliber, the late.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Great Charlie Kirk.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Five weeks ago, our nation was robbed of this extraordinary champion.
- 1:53Speaker 2: He was a champion in every way.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I got to know him so well, he didn't like losing,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and he was able to fight people that were enemies,
- 2:04Speaker 1: and he didn't necessarily love those enemies so much.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And I heard he.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Loved his enemies, and I said, wait a minute, is
- 2:10Speaker 1: that the same Charlie that I know?
- 2:13Speaker 2: I'm not sure, but I didn't want to get into it.
- 2:17Speaker 1: But it was a horrible, heinous, demonic act of murder.
- 2:22Speaker 1: He was assassinated in the prime of his life for
- 2:26Speaker 1: boldly speaking the truth, for living his faith and relentlessly
- 2:30Speaker 1: fighting for a better and stronger America.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Loved this country.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And that's why this afternoon, it's my privilege to posthumously
- 2:39Speaker 1: award Charles James Kirk R. Nation's highest civilian honor, the
- 2:44Speaker 1: Presidential Medal of Freedom.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 2:55Speaker 1: As you know, only hours ago I returned from a
- 2:58Speaker 1: very historic trip to secure peace in the Middle East.
- 3:02Speaker 1: People said that couldn't be done. Charlie felt it could
- 3:04Speaker 1: be done. Charlie felt it could be done. Thank you,
- 3:14Speaker 1: thank you, thank you very much. But I raced back
- 3:22Speaker 1: halfway around at the lobe. I was gonna call Eric
- 3:25Speaker 1: and say, Erica, could you maybe move it to Friday?
- 3:31Speaker 1: And I didn't have the courage to call but you
- 3:33Speaker 1: know why I didn't call because I heard today was
- 3:35Speaker 1: Charlie's birthday, and I said, you know, now that was
- 3:38Speaker 1: a definite, And I said, we're gonna have to forget
- 3:41Speaker 1: about some of those very big, very rich countries that
- 3:44Speaker 1: expected me to be there. And I can tell you
- 3:47Speaker 1: based on the length of that flight, I wouldn't want
- 3:49Speaker 1: to go back tomorrow. But I would not have missed
- 3:54Speaker 1: this moment for anything in the world. Nothing, And it's
- 3:58Speaker 1: a very important time for our country. And our country
- 4:01Speaker 1: is doing so well, it's never done better. We are
- 4:05Speaker 1: a country with almost now eighteen trillion dollars of investment
- 4:10Speaker 1: coming in. Nobody's ever seen anything like that. Previous administration
- 4:14Speaker 1: at less than a trillion for four years, we have
- 4:17Speaker 1: more than eighteen. It'll be much more than twenty by
- 4:20Speaker 1: the time the year more than twenty trillion dollars. Has
- 4:22Speaker 1: never been a country in the world that had anything
- 4:24Speaker 1: like that. What's happened to our country is incredible in
- 4:28Speaker 1: a short period of time. Charlie was a big person
- 4:32Speaker 1: for sir, could we close up those borders please a
- 4:35Speaker 1: little bit? You know, they're really leaking badly, I said, Charlie.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I haven't gotten there yet. But you know, it came
- 4:41Speaker 1: out last four months. Literally nobody was allowed into our country,
- 4:46Speaker 1: and the only people that were allowed in were people
- 4:49Speaker 1: that came in legally. The borders are absolutely stone coll
- 4:53Speaker 1: closed and they reported zero zero, zero and zero, so
- 4:57Speaker 1: that's pretty good. But he was a big believer. He
- 5:02Speaker 1: wanted people in the country more than I did. Frankly,
- 5:04Speaker 1: he wanted them to come in legally, and he got
- 5:08Speaker 1: his wish. October fourteenth is Charlie's birthday, and he should
- 5:14Speaker 1: have been turning thirty two years old. I never when
- 5:18Speaker 1: I first met him, he was like twenty two, and
- 5:21Speaker 1: I said, boy, he's awfully young. But I thought he
- 5:24Speaker 1: was older than that. You know, he looked a little
- 5:26Speaker 1: bit older.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Than his age. That's okay.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You know, that's not good when you're old, but when
- 5:30Speaker 1: you're young, it's great. He had the best of all things,
- 5:34Speaker 1: but he was special. But instead, Charlie is attaining a
- 5:38Speaker 1: far more important milestone. We're entering his name forever into
- 5:43Speaker 1: the eternal roster of true American heroes. He's a true
- 5:46Speaker 1: American hero, an amazing person, way way beyond his years.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And I'm honored to be joined by a woman who
- 5:54Speaker 1: has endured unspeakable hardship with unbelievable strength. That's Charlie's widow, Erica.
- 6:04Speaker 1: And I just want to thank you, Erica. He loved
- 6:06Speaker 1: you so much.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I was with him. Please, thank you, darling, thank you.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I was with him before I met Erica, and he
- 6:25Speaker 1: told me he was going to get married. He said,
- 6:28Speaker 1: you won't believe how beautiful she is. I said, well, then,
- 6:33Speaker 1: now that I meet, he's right. But then he also said,
- 6:36Speaker 1: and you know what, she's like, the smartest person I know. See,
- 6:41Speaker 1: they do go together on occasion, not of it, not
- 6:45Speaker 1: of it, but on occasion they go together. But he
- 6:51Speaker 1: was in love with you. He was deeply in love
- 6:53Speaker 1: with you. It's great, Erica. You love and courage have
- 6:56Speaker 1: been an inspiration to all of us.
- 6:59Speaker 2: And we will always be here for you.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And we're always going to be here for your gorgeous,
- 7:04Speaker 1: beautiful children. And we'll never forget what your family has
- 7:08Speaker 1: sacrificed for our country. Man loved our country. When things
- 7:14Speaker 1: were going badly for our country, he was so as
- 7:18Speaker 1: you know, angry. We get angry because he said, it
- 7:20Speaker 1: doesn't have to be that way. We're also pleased to
- 7:23Speaker 1: be joined by an incredible group of Charlie's friends, very
- 7:28Speaker 1: powerful friends actually, and some not so powerful. And there
- 7:32Speaker 1: were actually better people. Okay, I know, well the less
- 7:35Speaker 1: powerful ones. I have to tell you that, all of
- 7:37Speaker 1: you power guys down here. The best ones in the
- 7:40Speaker 1: group are the ones that are less successful. But that
- 7:42Speaker 1: happens to now. They're all great and they're here. And
- 7:46Speaker 1: let's start with Erica's father. Where is Eric's father? Where
- 7:51Speaker 1: are you? Where are you dead?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Oh? Look at him? Well I want to get a
- 7:56Speaker 2: hat like that too. I like that. How are you
- 7:59Speaker 2: nice to see again?
- 8:01Speaker 1: Thanks as well to Vice President jd Vance, who's been fantastic.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Jd thank you very much, great doing a great job.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Did a great job on Sunday with George Slapadopolis put
- 8:19Speaker 1: him away pretty good. Second lady who's a phenomenal woman,
- 8:25Speaker 1: Usha Vanz, thank you very much, Yusha, thank you very much,
- 8:30Speaker 1: great woman.
- 8:31Speaker 2: President of Argentina. He wanted to be here.
- 8:34Speaker 1: That that's Argentina's a serious flight, right and he's become
- 8:39Speaker 1: a superstar and he's doing amazing things. It's he's a
- 8:44Speaker 1: maga person, but it's make Argentina great again. That's what
- 8:48Speaker 1: he does, right, And I want you to stand please,
- 8:50Speaker 1: Javier Javier Relay doing a great job.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Very many members of my cabinet here, just about all
- 9:03Speaker 1: of them here. I won't go into every single one
- 9:05Speaker 1: of them, but I'll announce a few of the people
- 9:08Speaker 1: that have really turned this country around and helped me.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Incredible people. Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, Where is Mike.
- 9:16Speaker 1: What a job you're doing, Mike, what a job you're doing.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And I watched you this morning and you're in there
- 9:23Speaker 1: trying to say, look, just let the country open.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Everything will be fine.
- 9:27Speaker 1: We're dealing with some radical left lunatics. And I would
- 9:33Speaker 1: just wish Charlie was here to fight us. I think
- 9:36Speaker 1: the fight would have been over already. He would have
- 9:39Speaker 1: had a march on the Capitol by people whose average
- 9:42Speaker 1: age is about twenty one, because there's nobody that had
- 9:46Speaker 1: that relationship with young people, right, Mike, So thank you
- 9:49Speaker 1: Mike for being here. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Steve, thank.
- 9:55Speaker 2: You very much.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Brave, a brave guy and a friend. Majority Whip. Another
- 10:01Speaker 1: terrific man, Tom Emmer, Thank you, Tom.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso.
- 10:12Speaker 1: John, thank you very much. Yeah, all these senators I'm
- 10:17Speaker 1: going to get in trouble. I'm not going to read
- 10:18Speaker 1: all their names. I'll be reading all day. We'll be
- 10:20Speaker 1: talking about Charlie in about forty five minutes from now.
- 10:23Speaker 2: We can't do that.
- 10:24Speaker 1: So all of the senators, there's so many of you,
- 10:27Speaker 1: thank you very much. I do want to thank Senator
- 10:30Speaker 1: Thune for doing a terrific job. He's really been leading properly.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Do you agree, Mike. The team, the two of these
- 10:36Speaker 1: guys have been fantastic. So to Senator Thune, I want
- 10:39Speaker 1: to thank you very much. Incredible job. Watched him this
- 10:43Speaker 1: morning and he was out there pounding him this morning
- 10:45Speaker 1: on television two. And John Barrasso, thank you for the
- 10:49Speaker 1: work you've done and congratulations and your success. But I
- 10:52Speaker 1: want to thank you all in all of the congress
- 10:54Speaker 1: people that are here. And I see we have our
- 10:57Speaker 1: Attorney general here, so and you are doing a few
- 11:00Speaker 1: fantastic job. Thank you very much. Pamp, thank you, thank
- 11:03Speaker 1: you very much. We have everybody. Wow, that's a incredible Okay,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'm not going to do anymore, going to be here
- 11:11Speaker 1: too long, but I just want to thank you have
- 11:14Speaker 1: given him such support, but he always gave you such support.
- 11:18Speaker 2: That's why you're here, and very unusual.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Charles James Kirk was a visionary and one of the
- 11:25Speaker 1: greatest figures of his generation. He was truly an amazing
- 11:29Speaker 1: figure and growing leaps and vows. He knew that the
- 11:33Speaker 1: fight to preserve our heritage is waged not only on
- 11:36Speaker 1: the battlefield and in the halls of power, of which
- 11:39Speaker 1: we have tremendous power here, including.
- 11:43Speaker 2: The head of a place called war. We called now war.
- 11:46Speaker 1: We had defense, we had our secretary of defense. Now
- 11:50Speaker 1: have a Secretary of War, and somehow I think it's
- 11:54Speaker 1: more emblematic. And hopefully we'll never have to use war.
- 11:57Speaker 1: But the fact that we're ready is very good. Piece
- 11:59Speaker 1: through strength is very important, but also in the hearts
- 12:02Speaker 1: of our nation's youth. That's where Charlie Road's strongest at
- 12:07Speaker 1: age eighteen. That inside inspired Charlie to found the organization
- 12:11Speaker 1: that ultimately touched the lives of millions and millions of
- 12:15Speaker 1: people and so many young people that nobody's ever seen
- 12:20Speaker 1: anything like it. Frankly, turning Point USA. It's amazing and
- 12:25Speaker 1: it's actually bigger now. It's become bigger in the last
- 12:28Speaker 1: few weeks than Charlie ever thought. I think his end
- 12:34Speaker 1: vision in many years from now would have been just
- 12:36Speaker 1: a fraction of what had turned out to be in
- 12:38Speaker 1: a couple of weeks. Right, it's amazing with hard work
- 12:42Speaker 1: and joyful spirit and endless and enthusiasm and determination. And
- 12:48Speaker 1: he did have great enthusiasm. And I always say you
- 12:50Speaker 1: need enthusiasm to be successful.
- 12:52Speaker 2: He had great enthusiasm.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Charlie grew Turning Point into the largest conservative youth organization
- 12:58Speaker 1: in the entire country. He warded a personal bond with
- 13:01Speaker 1: countless young conservatives. He fought for free speech, religious liberty,
- 13:06Speaker 1: strong borders, and a very strong and proud America. In
- 13:10Speaker 1: everything he did, he put America first. He really put
- 13:14Speaker 1: America first. And ultimately Charlie became more than a leader
- 13:19Speaker 1: of an important organization. He became the leader of historic
- 13:23Speaker 1: movements all over the country. There were movements, individual movements,
- 13:27Speaker 1: one movement, but it was historic.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Everything he did was historic.
- 13:31Speaker 1: And a true evangelist for the cause of freedom and
- 13:37Speaker 1: the word of Almighty God God was very.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Important to Charlie.
- 13:41Speaker 1: He would say, you know, if you don't have religion,
- 13:43Speaker 1: you're not going to.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Have a strong country. It's true. He was so wise
- 13:47Speaker 2: beyond his years. You know. I talked to him sometimes.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I said, this guy is like a young guy.
- 13:52Speaker 1: He was really a wise man from the time Charlie
- 13:56Speaker 1: worked on my presidential campaign in twenty sixteen, and he
- 13:59Speaker 1: was there right for the bigin and he liked me.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I don't know, I have no idea. Why what the
- 14:04Speaker 1: hell was he thinking? He said, you're gonna win, sir.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I said, you know, I'm running against seventeen senators and
- 14:11Speaker 1: a lot of tough people and governors.
- 14:14Speaker 2: We have all these people.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And he said, no, you're going to win, sir. He said,
- 14:18Speaker 1: not going to be close. And he made it happen.
- 14:21Speaker 1: He helped make it happen. I'll tell you that without him,
- 14:24Speaker 1: who knows what would be Maybe you'd have Kamalist standing
- 14:28Speaker 1: here today. That would not be good. I will tell
- 14:31Speaker 1: you how he you don't know who Kamala is, promised
- 14:34Speaker 1: it would not be good. You agree with that, Howard.
- 14:38Speaker 1: He also mobilized countless citizens to go vote. It's called
- 14:41Speaker 1: go vote, very simple, and with his help, in twenty
- 14:45Speaker 1: twenty four, we won more young people than any Republican
- 14:48Speaker 1: by far in the history of our country, and we
- 14:52Speaker 1: won the popular vote.
- 14:54Speaker 2: We won the swing states, all seven of them.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Remember they said, oh, well, if Trump could win four,
- 14:58Speaker 1: that would be nice. I would by a lot, by
- 15:01Speaker 1: a landslide. But the popular vote was massive, and we
- 15:06Speaker 1: won the electoral college. I remember they said, well, it's
- 15:08Speaker 1: going to be very hard. I'd say two hundred and seventy.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Well we got three hundred and twelve to twenty six.
- 15:15Speaker 1: And then we won something called districts and councils and
- 15:19Speaker 1: different things. But in one case we won two thousand,
- 15:22Speaker 1: seven hundred and fifty to five hundred and twenty five.
- 15:27Speaker 1: That's the one where you see the map is almost
- 15:29Speaker 1: entirely red except to have a little blue line on
- 15:31Speaker 1: one side and a little blue line meaning New York
- 15:35Speaker 1: and a little bit Los Angeles. I have a feeling
- 15:37Speaker 1: that if the vote were one hundred percent, we would
- 15:40Speaker 1: have won that too.
- 15:41Speaker 2: You want to know the truth.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But he knew, and he knew very well, and he
- 15:45Speaker 1: also understood honesty, and he was always concerned with honesty.
- 15:50Speaker 1: He said, the only way we can lose is if
- 15:53Speaker 1: the cheating gets so bad. And that's where we came
- 15:55Speaker 1: up with a little phrase, too Big to Rig. We said,
- 15:59Speaker 1: go out and vote, Just go out and vote.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And we had that.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Remember we used to say that all the time because
- 16:05Speaker 1: people would say, oh, they're going to win, we don't
- 16:07Speaker 1: have to vote, Let's go to a movie. We'll come
- 16:09Speaker 1: home and watch later. And he wasn't about that. So
- 16:12Speaker 1: we had we come up to with really together.
- 16:15Speaker 2: We came up with that phrase. We got to make
- 16:17Speaker 2: it too big.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I never made a speech where I didn't say at
- 16:19Speaker 1: the end, now, look the polls are showing good. Don't
- 16:22Speaker 1: believe the pulse. He said, We're going to make.
- 16:25Speaker 2: It, Susie Ray too big to rig.
- 16:28Speaker 1: So if you think we're going to win by a lot,
- 16:30Speaker 1: doesn't matter. Pretend we're losing. You got to go out
- 16:33Speaker 1: of vote. They voted, and at nine oh two, the
- 16:35Speaker 1: whole thing was over right nine oh two. Remember they said, oh,
- 16:39Speaker 1: this could go a few days, well a few minutes
- 16:42Speaker 1: nine oh two.
- 16:43Speaker 2: And he knew that, and I felt it. But he
- 16:46Speaker 2: knew it. He knew it. I think he knew it
- 16:48Speaker 2: more than anybody.
- 16:49Speaker 1: But Charlie never missed an opportunity to remind us of
- 16:53Speaker 1: the Judeo Christian principles of our nation's founding, or to
- 16:56Speaker 1: share his deep Christian faith and his final moments early
- 17:00Speaker 1: testified to the greatness of America and did the glory
- 17:03Speaker 1: of our Savior, with.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Whom he now rests in heaven. And he is going
- 17:08Speaker 2: to make heaven.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I said, I'm not sure I can make it, but
- 17:12Speaker 1: he's gonna make it.
- 17:13Speaker 2: He's there, he's looking down.
- 17:15Speaker 1: On us right now. So incredible. Look at this, how
- 17:18Speaker 1: this turned out. This was supposed to be so dark
- 17:21Speaker 1: and cloudy. Not dark and cloudy, is it? I look
- 17:24Speaker 1: at that, How beautiful that is. There's no artist that
- 17:27Speaker 1: can can capture it as beautiful as it is today.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Wow, it's amazing.
- 17:33Speaker 1: As I said on the day that he was assassinated,
- 17:36Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk was a martyr for truth and for freedom,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and from Socrates to think and to Saint Peter, from
- 17:46Speaker 1: Abraham Lincoln to Martin Luther King, those who change history
- 17:50Speaker 1: the most, and he really did. Have always risked their
- 17:54Speaker 1: lives for causes they were put on earth to defend.
- 17:58Speaker 1: He was put on earth to do exactactly what he
- 18:00Speaker 1: was doing. He didn't want to waste time. He would
- 18:02Speaker 1: have been a top student at any college in the country.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I know, to college as well. He's smarter than the guys.
- 18:09Speaker 1: He was so smart, but he almost, I guess, didn't
- 18:12Speaker 1: have the time.
- 18:13Speaker 2: He knew what he wanted to do.
- 18:14Speaker 1: It wasn't like Jae I want to sit in the
- 18:16Speaker 1: classroom for four years listening to people teach me liberal principles,
- 18:20Speaker 1: because they were never going to teach him that anyway.
- 18:23Speaker 2: But he didn't have the time. He really didn't have
- 18:24Speaker 2: the time.
- 18:25Speaker 1: But every time the enemies of goodness and virtue tried
- 18:29Speaker 1: to silence the voice of righteous and noble leaders like Charlie.
- 18:33Speaker 2: They failed, They seemed to fail.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Ultimately, they look like they're doing well, and then they
- 18:37Speaker 1: end up failing because the truth has been unrelenting over
- 18:41Speaker 1: the years, over history, and people like Charlie, it's just
- 18:46Speaker 1: they've got a power that others don't have, and very
- 18:50Speaker 1: few people will ever have. So today, like those martyrs
- 18:54Speaker 1: before him, Charlie's voice, his message, and his legacy are
- 18:57Speaker 1: stronger and greater than before.
- 19:00Speaker 2: They are greater than ever before.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Look, this is a horrible event, but it brought out
- 19:06Speaker 1: the greatness of Charlie. Nothing could have ever supplanted this.
- 19:13Speaker 1: It's incredible the way people are talking about them, and.
- 19:18Speaker 2: With great love.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I mean, I read so many stories about some of
- 19:22Speaker 1: the enemies. But I watch the enemies. It's hard for
- 19:25Speaker 1: them to speak badly about them because they just don't.
- 19:28Speaker 2: And then you do have people.
- 19:29Speaker 1: In the days since Charlie's killing, we've seen exactly why
- 19:33Speaker 1: our country so dearly needed his example. We've watched legions
- 19:39Speaker 1: of far left radicals resort to desperate acts of violence
- 19:43Speaker 1: and terror because they know that their ideas and arguments
- 19:46Speaker 1: are persuading no one. They know that they're failing. They
- 19:50Speaker 1: have the devil's ideology, and they're failing, and they know it,
- 19:54Speaker 1: they feel it, and they become violent. They seem to
- 19:59Speaker 1: become very vile on the left. They've rammed vehicles into
- 20:04Speaker 1: federal law enforcement, fired sniper rifles at ice agents and me.
- 20:09Speaker 1: You know, but I was I made a turn at
- 20:12Speaker 1: a good time. I made a turn at a good time.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I turned to the right. Charlie couldn't believe it, actually,
- 20:19Speaker 1: he said, and I, hell.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Did you make that turn?
- 20:21Speaker 1: I said, I don't know, but fired rifles and threatened
- 20:26Speaker 1: the lives of our Supreme Court.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Justices are great justices. They have to be protected. We
- 20:32Speaker 2: just issued it a lot of money, sixty.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Million dollars to protect the Supreme Court justices very important.
- 20:40Speaker 1: We can't let anything happen in places of worship. We're
- 20:44Speaker 1: protecting our people. We've seen that a candidate for attorney
- 20:49Speaker 1: general and Virginia boasted that he would want to see
- 20:53Speaker 1: the Republican legislature a legislator in Virginia shot in the
- 20:59Speaker 1: head and to see his children murdered. They actually said this,
- 21:03Speaker 1: and now he continues to run for office, and most
- 21:06Speaker 1: people continued to back him, but he said he wants
- 21:08Speaker 1: his man shot said shot in the head, and to
- 21:11Speaker 1: see his children murdered, and they keep running. Pretty amazing. Right,
- 21:17Speaker 1: that's a bad one. Let's see how that turns out.
- 21:20Speaker 1: But that's a really bad one. Nobody's heard that one before,
- 21:24Speaker 1: especially in the wake up Charlie's assassination. Our country must
- 21:27Speaker 1: have absolutely no tolerance for this radical left violence, extremism
- 21:32Speaker 1: and terror. We're done with the angry mobs and we're
- 21:36Speaker 1: not going to let our cities be unsafe. We're going
- 21:39Speaker 1: to make sure our cities are safe. When you have
- 21:41Speaker 1: Chicago where they had four thousand people murdered over a
- 21:44Speaker 1: very short period of time, four thousand people, and then
- 21:48Speaker 1: we have a governor's stand up and say, oh things.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Are going swimmingly. No, they're not.
- 21:54Speaker 1: We're going to make Chicago safe, just like we're going
- 21:56Speaker 1: to make Look what we did in DC. It's so
- 21:59Speaker 1: nice that we start here because this was one of
- 22:01Speaker 1: the most violent places in the United States. It'd be
- 22:04Speaker 1: dangerous to be right out here. But you couldn't go
- 22:07Speaker 1: to a restaurant. The restaurants were all dying. The whole
- 22:10Speaker 1: place was dying. You'd have these gorges. Look at the
- 22:12Speaker 1: Washington Monument over there. You'd have these gorges, buildings and
- 22:16Speaker 1: monuments and structures, and people were afraid to leave their apartment.
- 22:20Speaker 2: They were afraid to go to work.
- 22:23Speaker 1: They'd get into an uber and they'd feel safe, and
- 22:26Speaker 1: then the uber would be attacked. They thought they made
- 22:29Speaker 1: it the safety and then the uber was attacked on
- 22:31Speaker 1: the trip end. But we've done a great job and
- 22:34Speaker 1: now it's considered a totally safe city. We haven't had problems.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Took us twelve days to make it great. We took
- 22:41Speaker 1: out pam seventeen hundred hard criminals, career criminals in many cases,
- 22:47Speaker 1: but these are hardened criminals. Many of them came in
- 22:49Speaker 1: through the Biden open borders. We brought them back to
- 22:52Speaker 1: the countries, and a couple was so violent that we
- 22:55Speaker 1: put them in jail. We don't want to take a
- 22:56Speaker 1: chance that they could get back in because no matter
- 22:58Speaker 1: how good we do, somebody can sneak in. They were
- 23:01Speaker 1: so violent and so so bad. One arrested twenty eight times.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Every time he left prison, he'd get into a violent
- 23:08Speaker 1: incident twenty eight times. And we put him away for
- 23:12Speaker 1: a long time. But we're done with the angry mobs.
- 23:16Speaker 1: We're done with it. This is such an unbelievable place
- 23:20Speaker 1: right now. You take a look where you can walk
- 23:23Speaker 1: down the middle of the street with your wife or
- 23:24Speaker 1: your husband. Your children can walk, they can walk alone,
- 23:27Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. They can walk anywhere in Washington, and
- 23:30Speaker 1: they're safe now. If this were a year and a
- 23:33Speaker 1: half ago, a year ago, they'd have a serious chance
- 23:37Speaker 1: of being badly hurt, even killed, even killed.
- 23:42Speaker 2: They'd come in from Indiana, they'd come in from Iowa,
- 23:45Speaker 2: they come from Florida.
- 23:46Speaker 1: They see their nation's capital, and somebody would have to
- 23:50Speaker 1: call the parents.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but your son or your daughter has been killed.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Not anymore.
- 23:55Speaker 1: You hear those sirens going off, that's good, that's a
- 23:57Speaker 1: good sound. That means they either got the bad guy
- 24:01Speaker 1: or they going to stop the bad guy. You didn't
- 24:03Speaker 1: hear that sound because nobody wanted to do anything.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Nobody listened to the beauty of that sound. Seriously, and
- 24:12Speaker 2: that's the real deal.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Sirens, they're not politically correct sirens here. They're about three
- 24:17Speaker 1: miles away. That's great, what a beautiful sound. They're stopping crime,
- 24:22Speaker 1: that's what they're doing. So we're done with the voices
- 24:26Speaker 1: of fools. They're fools and death threats, and we're going
- 24:30Speaker 1: to make our city's safe. And I thought it was
- 24:33Speaker 1: Charlie's one of his biggest dreams was that he couldn't
- 24:35Speaker 1: believe it. Chicago's going to be a great city again.
- 24:40Speaker 1: We've already you know, we send people in there six
- 24:42Speaker 1: months ago and this governors said, well, crime is down. Yeah,
- 24:45Speaker 1: that's because we had the FBI in there for six
- 24:47Speaker 1: months just preparing it for the bigger surge. And they've
- 24:52Speaker 1: done a great job, the cash and the FBI. They've
- 24:56Speaker 1: done a great job. And they love doing it. You know,
- 24:58Speaker 1: they love being able to do it. We're restricted from
- 25:01Speaker 1: doing it. They couldn't do anything, and now they're totally unrestricted.
- 25:06Speaker 1: They well, they have to do is stop crime, and
- 25:09Speaker 1: they're doing it. By the way, Memphis, as you know,
- 25:11Speaker 1: you heard they went in about a week ago, one
- 25:14Speaker 1: of the most dangerous places in the country.
- 25:16Speaker 2: It's really in the world. It's not just the country.
- 25:18Speaker 1: They have very few cities that would compare to some
- 25:21Speaker 1: of these cities. You go to Afghanistan, you say, oh,
- 25:23Speaker 1: that's unsafe. Well, the crime numbers are much better than
- 25:28Speaker 1: the crime numbers and places that we have. So Memphis,
- 25:31Speaker 1: I understand, is doing unbelievably. In one week, it's like
- 25:35Speaker 1: a different place. And this took twelve days, and then
- 25:38Speaker 1: after that we just perfected it. But after twelve days
- 25:42Speaker 1: we had good safety here. After one month, it's like,
- 25:45Speaker 1: it's really amazing. And by the way, restaurants are booming.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Restaurants are opening up. The big problem we have. You
- 25:52Speaker 1: can't get into a restaurant in DC anymore, so they're
- 25:55Speaker 1: opening up.
- 25:55Speaker 2: It's a beautiful thing to see.
- 25:57Speaker 1: It's called safety, it's called law enforcement and letting them
- 26:01Speaker 1: do their job. And that's why I said last month
- 26:05Speaker 1: that I have directed the Attorney General and the Department
- 26:08Speaker 1: of Homeland Security to confront the very real threat of
- 26:11Speaker 1: left wing terrorism in our country. It's a real threat,
- 26:15Speaker 1: not when you confront it. It's not because they're not
- 26:19Speaker 1: brave people. In fact, they're cowards. When you confront them,
- 26:23Speaker 1: they immediately fold. You have to see them fold, you
- 26:27Speaker 1: have to see them crying. They fold. But it includes
- 26:32Speaker 1: dismantling the networks that fund them and finance them. And
- 26:35Speaker 1: we're finding out who those networks are. We already know
- 26:38Speaker 1: quite a few of them. When you see these violent
- 26:42Speaker 1: incidents and then you see people holding this gorgeous sign
- 26:46Speaker 1: with beautiful wood, beautiful cardboard, wood, everything, everything's perfect paint job,
- 26:53Speaker 1: and they're all the same. There are thousands of them.
- 26:56Speaker 1: You know that they weren't made in the basement out
- 27:00Speaker 1: of love. They were made by anarchists and in some
- 27:05Speaker 1: cases wealthy. I'll probably find some of my nice friends
- 27:08Speaker 1: that are up there being so nice to me, especially lately,
- 27:12Speaker 1: they're being very nice. But it surprises you who they
- 27:17Speaker 1: may be, and you almost wonder why would they do it.
- 27:21Speaker 1: But they're hurting our country and we're really taking it
- 27:24Speaker 1: back one by one. If we didn't go into Los
- 27:26Speaker 1: Angeles early on in the administration, the Commissioner of the
- 27:31Speaker 1: Chief of Police Los Angeles said, if they didn't go in,
- 27:35Speaker 1: we would have lost our city. Now they already lost
- 27:37Speaker 1: twenty five thousand houses to fire because they wouldn't let
- 27:39Speaker 1: the water come in from the Pacific Northwest, which they
- 27:42Speaker 1: should have done, and I said her, you'd better do it.
- 27:45Speaker 1: They didn't do it, and we had twenty five thousand
- 27:48Speaker 1: homes where they had no water in the sprinklers, they
- 27:51Speaker 1: had no water in the fire hydrants. It would have
- 27:54Speaker 1: been a different kind of thing if they did what
- 27:56Speaker 1: they were supposed to do.
- 27:57Speaker 2: We had to break in. We broke in and had
- 27:58Speaker 2: the water come down.
- 28:00Speaker 1: They actually they said for the environment, great, They lost
- 28:03Speaker 1: twenty five thousand houses.
- 28:05Speaker 2: It's incredible.
- 28:06Speaker 1: But the commissioner said, without the federal government and President
- 28:10Speaker 1: Trump's intervention, we would have lost the entire city.
- 28:13Speaker 2: And we have the Olympics going there soon. I got
- 28:16Speaker 2: the Olympics.
- 28:16Speaker 1: We have the Olympics, we have the World Cup, and
- 28:19Speaker 1: we have most importantly, we have the two hundred and
- 28:22Speaker 1: fiftieth anniversary of our country. That's going to be most important.
- 28:26Speaker 1: And all of these things are happening, and we're gonna
- 28:28Speaker 1: have safe cities. We're gonna have very very safe cities.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So one month after Charlie's death. We still feel the
- 28:34Speaker 1: terrible shock and the pain of his loss.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Like just about nobody I can think of. Charlie Kirk
- 28:41Speaker 2: was one of a kind.
- 28:42Speaker 1: He was unstoppable and he really was boy. When he
- 28:46Speaker 1: had an idea in his head. Oh, he would call me, sir, please,
- 28:50Speaker 1: you haven't done it yet, said Charlie, Relax, just relax.
- 28:55Speaker 1: He didn't relax it called me the next day again.
- 28:58Speaker 1: It got it done. But he was like indomitable and
- 29:02Speaker 1: always will be. He's really irreplaceable. Nobody's going to replace him,
- 29:07Speaker 1: but they're going to do great. But you can't replace
- 29:09Speaker 1: that kind of person and that kind of talent. Frankly,
- 29:13Speaker 1: the word talent is an important word, but that kind
- 29:15Speaker 1: of talent.
- 29:16Speaker 2: So we hold his memory in our hearts forever.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Every single day of this administration, we will continue to
- 29:22Speaker 1: carry out the mission for which he lived, and he
- 29:25Speaker 1: really did. He lived for this country. He lived for
- 29:27Speaker 1: his wife and his family, but he lived for this
- 29:29Speaker 1: country too. In Charlie's honor, we will continue like we
- 29:35Speaker 1: have been, to fight, fight, fight, and to win, win, win.
- 29:38Speaker 1: We're going to win so much so the Presidential Medal
- 29:48Speaker 1: of Freedom is a big deal. You have the Congressional
- 29:51Speaker 1: Medal of Honor military and the Presidential Medal of Freedom
- 29:55Speaker 1: which is civilian. And the Presidential Medal Freedom is a
- 29:59Speaker 1: real big deal. Very few people get it. Very few people,
- 30:04Speaker 1: frankly qualify. It's a decision of the president, but it's
- 30:07Speaker 1: a qualification that's a very hard one to get. And
- 30:12Speaker 1: I would like to ask if I might the military
- 30:14Speaker 1: aid to read Charles James Kirk's citation for the Presidential
- 30:21Speaker 1: Medal of Freedom.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Thank you.
- 30:47Speaker 3: The Presidential Medal of Freedom is awarded to Charles James Kirk,
- 30:52Speaker 3: accepting on behalf of Charlie is his wife, missus Erica Kirk.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Charlie Kirk was one of the most infl uential American
- 31:01Speaker 3: political figures of his generation. At just eighteen years old,
- 31:05Speaker 3: he founded Turning Point USA and grew it into the
- 31:09Speaker 3: largest conservative youth organization in the nation. For over a decade,
- 31:13Speaker 3: he tirelessly traveled the country, leading a movement to restore
- 31:17Speaker 3: respect for our founding principles, reawaken our national identity, and
- 31:23Speaker 3: inspire a renewed spirit of religious devotion. He was one
- 31:28Speaker 3: of the great debaters and communicators of his time. Despite
- 31:32Speaker 3: receiving repeated threats, he remained undeterred and modeled courage, logic, humor,
- 31:39Speaker 3: and grace to the next generation. On September tenth, twenty
- 31:44Speaker 3: twenty five, at age thirty one, Charlie Kirk was assassinated
- 31:48Speaker 3: while addressing a group of students. The United States honors
- 31:52Speaker 3: him of a martyr for truth and freedom.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Sh
