Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: You need to understand that you are not starting over.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: You're not restarting.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: You are refining.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: Because you have years of accumulated wisdom.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_01]: You have years of achievements, years of data that you have survived every one of your bad days.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the be it till you see it podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor, and fitness business coach.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the update.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: But we are talking a permission to change again this week.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: We're going a little deeper.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: This is a little more nuanced.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: This is hopefully gives you some questions to ask yourself when it comes to finding your superpower and what it is that you do.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't have to start all over.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: Because oftentimes, it's not actually that we've to start.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: all the way over.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: We often just have to maybe just redefine our title or redefine who we're reaching out to or who we're inviting into our lives based on having like, oh, hold on.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is what actually lights me up.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is what people love about me.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: If I had some really great guests on the show who are all stringed fighters, coaches,
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: there was a woman we had recently in the last year who I loved so much.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm at a Utah and then there was a guy at a Texas that I really, really liked and like when you understand what your superpowers are, it really helps you sometimes really look at what your role is.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes that means you get to stay in that role but you just have different
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: responsibilities and sometimes you have to totally leave, right?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: Or you actually just do a lateral change like my neighbor.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: He actually took a lateral promotion because he really wanted to be working on developing people skillsets in the business.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: First is always talking about the data.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really cool.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: the guests we had, she talked about how she found herself really going to be a support tool, showing people where they could grow, like what their superpowers were, as opposed to doing the actual day-to-day work.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: For me, in the last episode, I talked about how I had created a niche that I wanted to explore out of.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: The reality is it's like, because I figure out what my superpower was in that role, it allowed me to apply it to another job.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I didn't get to stay in that job.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: I got to apply it to my personal, like my prophylized business, right, coach people.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Because what I'm super super good at is like helping people achieve what their goals are, right?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: So...
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to have ways of kind of figuring that for yourself because it may actually allow you to see, oh, maybe I'm spending too much time in the areas that are not in alignment.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: And this over the area over here that isn't alignment, if I could just spend more time there, I could actually like continue going doing things and be in more alignment.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Look, I love that you listen to this podcast seeking out support and inspiration and answers and that's awesome and I hope you keep doing that and also sometimes we're too often looking outside ourselves for the right answer or the next trend or the perfect formula.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: I see this all the time in applies industry.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's chasing whatever is going to get them more views instead of.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: Talking about what they do best.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's most of them don't know like we ask you all the time Who do you help?
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: How do you help people like what's your super power in that and they're like I help everybody with everything?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: No way no fucking way No way there has got to be people you would not help You know, I do help people who don't want to listen
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well, then you don't have everybody, right?
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: Do help people who don't wanna do private sessions or don't wanna do group sessions?
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, you actually do have a need.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: You do have something in there.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I really want us to, I hope that this gives you some permission to recognize that you can curate your own space.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: by going inward and really asking yourself some deep questions that could help you see that you're a badass, right?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: I did an episode with Balanced Body's podcast called Plyce Perspectives.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: It came out in June of 2026.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: So this year, I hope you listen to it because we talk about how like Joyce says, like, I created a niche with an niche.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, yeah, I'm like, I really created what I needed this needed because it didn't exist or at least if it did exist, I didn't
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: and I hope this is episode gives you permission to curate and create what it is that you need so that you can show up the way that you want to in full alignment.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's really easy people look at what I do and they're like oh my god she was just all knowing she's like like I don't know like I was dropped out of the outer space and exactly what I'm doing but I really did create it and I created OPC based on like
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was traveling a lot and I wanted my people to have a way to take class when I was traveling, but I also didn't want them to lose what it is that they loved about in-person classes.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's how I created OPC to be different than what's out there.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: I created agency, problem applies as a space not for franchise owners of 70 studios,
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like the homeowner, home business to single studio or two studio business owner, because they were being left out.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: The business advice out there is all bro, style, all about KPIs and numbers and not at all about impact, right?
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I created what is needed in the world.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Those people, those studio owners need that kind of support.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Because yes, they can make good money impacting great people.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: the way that business goes about there.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's based on churn.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually, it's actually going, except in the fact that people are not going to stick around.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: I want your people to stick around.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I actually want you to have client retention.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to get them the benefits that they want.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I am one of those people who, like, sees what's out there, and then makes it my own.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: If you remember, my decopage shoe story.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: I saw painted shoes and I was like, oh, I could do that with this thing.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: And then that would solve this problem over here.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not an inventor, but I am definitely someone who can spiral out a good idea to help a group of people who don't feel accepted in that.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: You don't feel seen, right?
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like in the place perspective, podcast, I talked about how like, I mean, I'm a wise instructor at the time, it was very weird to not be a dancer and be a wise instructor.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I just, like now it's not weird at all, but back then it was so weird and I felt kind of, I felt embarrassed.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so I really had to, I became a teacher who clients who didn't feel like they belong in those spaces could be with.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then that led to teachers feeling like they could be safe in my space and that led to this.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: And now that there's anything wrong with the danced teachers at all, that's not what I'm saying.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: But like,
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: you know, we all can't make everyone feel seen.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: Some of us are better off at making certain people who are who we once were filled the most scene.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: So how do you go inward and get into a self-awareness map, if you will, to figure out what unique things that you have so you can get alignment.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so you're gonna have three different little circles or groupings that you're
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: So when you go into your values and we actually, and I'm probably has had a great course on how to figure out what your values are.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: You can actually buy it.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's a really fun little tool that you can do.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: A little strategy can do, but your values, right?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: What are your values?
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to think of wherever in your life that you're trying to change, right?
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: So if it's a friendship role or a family role, like what are your personal life values?
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: Or if it's a role in an a job that you have or in your business, what are your business values?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: What are those values?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then when you have those down, it's going to help you really understand why you're going to say no to things.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Because if things don't align with your values,
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to work.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, how do you use those values to find life alignment?
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I want you to kind of think about if you are in your values, you are actually protecting your piece, you're honestly in your nervous system, right?
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: And your values will have probably changed from today, then 10 years ago.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: So you haven't done this in a while.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably time to update them.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: But when you look at those values, it's really going to be helpful to go, okay.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: So in the area that of my life that I'm trying to change and the niche that
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: What about it is out of alignment of these values?
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: This way, you're going to understand what you should be avoiding, and then also what about it is in alignment with my values.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: So then you're not like throwing the friendship, the job, the event, the thing, the routine, out, the window.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: You're going, okay, I can keep this part, but this part has to change, and then you can use your values in a way to figure out how that's going to change.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: We can ask questions.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: We can sit and pause and percolate on it, but you can also just say, hey, moving forward.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm upside down with these three things that I said I would do.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: These two things over here I'd love to meet with you to see how we can find a new way of doing them, right?
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: Because I just feeling misaligned.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: All right, skills on this bucket, you're in a right term.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: All of the things that you have, all the professional certifications, or all achievements you've made, like,
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: This is where you're going to have hard time because you're going to think, I don't have any skills.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: No, I have friends who have perfect penmanship.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's a skill.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Or I can read really fast.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: I have also the skill of like, I can really read a person really fast.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: It drives Brad crazy.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I really don't want to judge but books by the cover, but I haven't been wrong yet.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Not been wrong yet.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: So what are your skills?
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a good terror reader?
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Are you a really good cook?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: Are you a really a data analyst?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are your skills?
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: Then I
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: This is fun.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is the thing that people like ask you questions about all the time.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: So people all my weird skills are actually like day and a vice.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really good at dating advice.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Some day I want to just be a tequila Somalia who talks about dating advice with people, because I truly, like, so grateful that I was not in the day in life so very, very long at all.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: But I did it terribly.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so therefore, I made lots of mistakes.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: And then I found a really great person and I love helping people from my experience do that.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: So what are your weird skills?
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: What are the things that people touch out?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: I have friends who texted me about volunteering.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: I have people who text me about weird makeup tips on something.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm good at makeup hair brow stuff like what are your weird skills right those down?
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Because my love if there's things that you're doing and job relationships friendships Neighborhood maybe you're part of your neighborhood group that require skills that you don't have no wonder it feels misaligned
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Or maybe there is something that people are needing that would happen to your weird skills, right?
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you're really good at listening, maybe you're really good at organizing.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: Right now.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: next bucket I want you to write down your interest.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: So if it's a business, if it's what you do, like, what are the most interested in?
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I people who are so interested when they come to get coaching for me, I'm like pelvic floor, scoliosis, neurological conditions, osteoporosis, great.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: That write it down and then go back through.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have all the skills that you need for that?
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: No, okay, that's on your to-do list.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, how does it align with your values?
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, all these things
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: What are the world's interests?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like what are the people in the community that are what are their interests?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: Because like you want to know what your interests are and then what are their interests?
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Because there's going to be a happy little medium and that's that's where you're going to plant yourself right.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: What do you naturally research or talk about or what do you do in no one's paying attention or no one's paying you right those are your interests.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so when you can get these things written down and you can look at them and you can start to see, okay, this is where these overlap this is where I'm missing some stuff this is where this is going on oh my interests is this thing over here, but their inches is this thing over here, okay, what would they feel really far apart is there a place where those two things overlap in one sliver so little sliver
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: Right, like if you like Italian and someone's like Mediterranean, there is a sliver of overlap on those two things.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: So how can you put all this down and then take a moment to see like this is yourself awareness tool.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is how you're going to figure out how to continue to align yourself and things that makes sense for you.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is how you're going to sort of change things because if you if you base things on your values because of really great filter.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: if you say yes or raise your hand for things that are within the skill sets that you like and overlap with your interests.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, you're gonna feel like everything is something that's enjoyable and not a heavy lift even on bad days.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: So you, my love, you need to understand that you are not starting over.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: You're not restarting.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: You are refining.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Because you have years, the accumulated wisdom, you have years of achievements, years of data that you have survived every one of your bad days.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we know everything evolves.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: And we let other people change their minds and other people do new things.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: We've got to allow ourselves.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: to pivot, because we're not throwing away our past.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: We are taking every lesson, every communication skill, every ounce of confidence we've ever had, and we're channeling into something that's lighter and better focused.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's in alignment.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: And so, no, it's hard when your professions over cheaper, but I want you to normalize like taking some action, some imperfect action, something messy, because that is how you're going to get clarity in your refinement.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you try to plan this entire pivot out, this realignment out without actually taking steps, it is not going to work out because you're not going to be getting to collect data along the way, right?
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Just like when we do Pilates, I don't watch someone stand still to see if they're aligned.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: I could, but I actually watch them move because it lets me see, is there any part of that
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: Or, oh, no, they always are imbalanced.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: So that's exactly why when they're staying still.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: Right, we find alignment when we move.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: You will find alignment in taking action.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: You will find clarity, and you're refining who you are.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: So full permission, care granted, to refine who you are.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: They more align with what feels good to you.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I would love to hear the changes that you make or the things you discover, the values and interests that became more clear, just send it into the bapod.com class questions.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: You can send your wins in there as well.

- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: And my love, I hope you like the series.
