- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Do your thing, Big Daddy.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning, everybody. You are listening to The Voice. Come on,
- 0:08Speaker 2: dig me now. One and only, Steve Harvey. Got a
- 0:11Speaker 2: radio show. Ain't God been good to me. But then again,
- 0:15Speaker 2: ain't he been good to you too, though?
- 0:17Speaker 1: I mean, really, man. Think of all the blessings God
- 0:20Speaker 1: has given you. You know what? There's some good news today, though, y'all.
- 0:25Speaker 1: In the face of.
- 0:27Speaker 2: The world being the way it is, the evilness that's
- 0:30Speaker 2: out there, it just seems like that's all that's on
- 0:32Speaker 2: the news sometimes. We got news of parents not really
- 0:37Speaker 2: standing up being parents. We got news stories of children
- 0:40Speaker 2: turning on their parents. You got everything. The economy, you
- 0:44Speaker 2: got places you thought used to be beautiful places to go.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Now they got travel alerts. It's all over.
- 0:53Speaker 2: But the good news is, There's something that you can
- 0:58Speaker 2: have in this relationship with God that gives you a
- 1:04Speaker 2: way to deal with it all. And I'm not saying
- 1:07Speaker 2: that it'll protect you from every single thing out there
- 1:10Speaker 2: that's happening because some things are going to happen to you.
- 1:14Speaker 2: You're going to be in an accident from time to time.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You're going to make a mistake and fall down from
- 1:20Speaker 2: time to time. But man, wouldn't it be incredible for
- 1:24Speaker 2: you if you understood that you had some insurance in
- 1:28Speaker 2: all of this, that no matter what happened to you,
- 1:31Speaker 2: you know, you were covered. You know, look, insurance companies,
- 1:34Speaker 2: as good as they are, you know, like our friends
- 1:37Speaker 2: at State Farm or any other insurance company, you know,
- 1:40Speaker 2: they do some amazing things. Insurance is a really, really
- 1:43Speaker 2: good thing to happen in the event that something happens
- 1:46Speaker 2: to you. You know, you may not want to pay
- 1:49Speaker 2: the premium, but guess what? In the event that something
- 1:51Speaker 2: happens to you, that insurance is absolutely critical. Well, but
- 1:57Speaker 2: guess what? They cover certain things. You could get life insurance.
- 2:00Speaker 2: You can get auto insurance. You can get accident insurance.
- 2:04Speaker 2: You can get health insurance. There is nothing that you
- 2:08Speaker 2: can buy to safeguard you against life's decisions. You know,
- 2:15Speaker 2: if you make a mistake, if you cheat, if you lie,
- 2:22Speaker 2: If you fall down and you can't seem to get
- 2:25Speaker 2: it together and you make a crazy decision about how
- 2:28Speaker 2: you're going to go about securing an income, there are
- 2:32Speaker 2: no policies you can buy for that. You can't buy
- 2:35Speaker 2: a policy if you stop being the man you're supposed
- 2:40Speaker 2: to be and give up on your children. You can't
- 2:44Speaker 2: buy a policy if something happens as a mother and
- 2:47Speaker 2: all of a sudden you're not the mother you're supposed
- 2:49Speaker 2: to be. But there is some insurance coverage out there
- 2:53Speaker 2: for you. And that relationship that you form with God,
- 2:58Speaker 2: that friendship that you form with him, that alliance, that partnership,
- 3:04Speaker 2: that prayer that you put in all the time, there
- 3:09Speaker 2: is an insurance policy that you have taken out when
- 3:13Speaker 2: you form a relationship with your Heavenly Father, when you
- 3:17Speaker 2: form a friendship, when you form a bond, that protects
- 3:21Speaker 2: you when these things happen in the event that they happen. Now,
- 3:27Speaker 2: here's the great thing about prayer. Prayer can head off
- 3:31Speaker 2: some stuff from happening. It really, really can. Prayer can
- 3:34Speaker 2: prevent some things from happening. You know, I'll give you
- 3:38Speaker 2: an example in my life. Okay, here we go. Because see,
- 3:41Speaker 2: this is the best way for me to do it.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Because see, what I don't like to do is talk
- 3:45Speaker 2: to people without letting them know, hey, look, I'm in
- 3:48Speaker 2: this hole with you.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I feel where you're at. okay, here we go. I
- 3:53Speaker 1: was making some decisions a few.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Years ago because what I thought I was doing was
- 3:59Speaker 2: counterbalancing something that was happening in my life. You know,
- 4:03Speaker 2: I thought that since I wasn't happy or well, for
- 4:09Speaker 2: whatever the reason, I thought I wasn't happy. If, if I,
- 4:12Speaker 2: as wrong as I am, wanted to blame somebody else
- 4:15Speaker 2: for my unhappiness, that that's, that's really, if, if, If
- 4:18Speaker 2: I make a bad decision because I'm thinking I'm unhappy
- 4:21Speaker 2: with somebody, well, hold up on two wrongs don't make
- 4:25Speaker 2: a right. And I make a decision to do something wrong.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And now the consequences come when I do something wrong. See,
- 4:33Speaker 2: then I already know as an intelligent thinking man, as
- 4:37Speaker 2: most of you are, that when you do something wrong, that,
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know, there is a consequence for that.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I teach that to my sons. When you do something wrong,
- 4:46Speaker 1: there is a consequence.
- 4:47Speaker 2: So as an adult, I fully understood the consequence. And
- 4:51Speaker 2: so what I was doing was I was making some
- 4:53Speaker 2: decisions that was causing some consequences in my life that
- 4:57Speaker 2: was delaying my happiness, delaying my progress, causing my business
- 5:03Speaker 2: not to go the way it could go, so forth
- 5:05Speaker 2: and so on. Well, what I started doing was I
- 5:08Speaker 2: took out this insurance policy called prayer and I started
- 5:12Speaker 2: putting it in my mix on a daily basis. And
- 5:15Speaker 2: then I started putting it in my mix, you know, two,
- 5:17Speaker 2: three times a day. And then I found myself using
- 5:20Speaker 2: it all the time. And then I really started putting
- 5:23Speaker 2: it in when I didn't need any help. When I
- 5:26Speaker 2: wasn't in trouble, I started putting insurance in. I started
- 5:29Speaker 2: making deposits into the bank. I started paying my premiums down.
- 5:34Speaker 2: And prayer is like a premium. You just pay into it.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Then when situations started coming up now, That prayer that
- 5:43Speaker 2: I had put in, those premiums I had paid, it
- 5:46Speaker 2: started preventing me from making the decisions I was making
- 5:49Speaker 2: in the past. Thus, I didn't have to suffer the consequences. Thus,
- 5:54Speaker 2: my businesses didn't have to be delayed in its progress
- 5:58Speaker 2: because I had put some payments on some premiums. I
- 6:01Speaker 2: had taken out an insurance policy with my life, my
- 6:06Speaker 2: real life. I'm talking about your life where you make
- 6:08Speaker 2: your day-to-day decisions in. I'm not talking about, see, life
- 6:12Speaker 2: insurance is only good if you die. God has a
- 6:16Speaker 2: policy that's available for you while you're living. See, in
- 6:22Speaker 2: order for an insurance policy to pay, something bad got
- 6:25Speaker 2: to happen. Now, there may be some others out there
- 6:28Speaker 2: I don't know nothing about, but all the ones I got,
- 6:31Speaker 2: my car insurance, they only come into play if I
- 6:34Speaker 2: have an accident. I have an accident insurance policy where
- 6:38Speaker 2: if something happens to me, I got accident. I got
- 6:42Speaker 2: my voices covered in case something happened to that.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I got that.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But I got to not be able to talk to
- 6:48Speaker 2: cash that one.
- 6:49Speaker 1: You understand? I got homeowner's insurance.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Nothing show up on my homeowner's insurance unless it's a flood,
- 6:58Speaker 2: a fire, a theft. Something bad got to happen for
- 7:02Speaker 2: my insurance to even make sense. When you take out
- 7:06Speaker 2: the policy with your heavenly father, when you pay the
- 7:10Speaker 2: premiums of prayer, and that's all it costs, man. You
- 7:14Speaker 2: ain't got to have no money for this policy.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I put into the policy.
- 7:19Speaker 2: It pays me dividends and benefits for living. Ain't nothing
- 7:26Speaker 2: got to go wrong for me to cash in on
- 7:29Speaker 2: this policy. I use this policy for good things. I'll
- 7:35Speaker 2: give you an example. I use this policy to ask
- 7:39Speaker 2: God to watch over my family when I travel. Make
- 7:42Speaker 2: the decisions to pay your premiums in prayer.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Talk to your Heavenly Father. Get you some insurance in
- 7:48Speaker 1: your life.
- 7:49Speaker 2: And when you have little things like that, keep on stepping, man.
- 7:52Speaker 2: God loves you, man. Man, I sure hope you talk
- 7:55Speaker 2: to God today because guess what? He sure would like
- 7:57Speaker 2: to hear from you. That's for sure.
- 7:59Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
