- 0:00Sean McAllister: It is episode 333, 333 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:04Sean McAllister: We go behind the scenes of RuPaul's drag race live over at the Flamingo and chat with one of the stars.
- 0:11Dayna Roselli: Plus, did you know there's a free aquarium at a Las Vegas Hotel Casino where you can actually watch mermaids swim?
- 0:18Dayna Roselli: You can even take a mermaid class.
- 0:19Sean McAllister: Oh my.
- 0:20Sean McAllister: Finn slappin' good time.
- 0:22Sean McAllister: And in the same hotel, you can get a cowgirl dinner for 25 bucks.
- 0:28Sean McAllister: And you get a lot.
- 0:29Sean McAllister: You want to hear about this.
- 0:31Sean McAllister: Such a good deal.
- 0:32Dayna Roselli: And a multimedia rock tribute show is coming to the strat.
- 0:36Dayna Roselli: Also, you can now zip and dip.
- 0:38Dayna Roselli: We'll explain what that's about.
- 0:39Dayna Roselli: Let's get started on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:42Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 333.
- 0:46Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister and Dana Roselli with you here.
- 0:50Sean McAllister: That seems lucky, Dana.
- 0:52Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 0:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, three threes.
- 0:53Dayna Roselli: It's not three sevens, but it's close enough.
- 0:56Sean McAllister: It's close enough.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: There's gotta be something in the 333.
- 0:59Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's been a hundred since we did two two two.
- 1:03Sean McAllister: That's that's the truth.
- 1:05Dayna Roselli: So triple threes, we were saying last week we talked about triple mania.
- 1:08Dayna Roselli: We should have done it the during the podcast where we did tri triple threes.
- 1:12Dayna Roselli: But anyway, um, yeah, always always some good luck in when it comes to gambling in casinos in Las Vegas when there's three numbers in a row, right?
- 1:19Sean McAllister: Hey, and actually, speaking of uh three numbers in a row, uh coming up when we talk about the uh cowgirl dinner special, uh the same restaurant has another deal where if you land on three of a kind, you might get your dinner for free.
- 1:35Sean McAllister: Oh, I like that.
- 1:36Sean McAllister: So that'll be an an added tip.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: Yes, an added tip coming up.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: Hey, zip and dip rhymes with added tip.
- 1:43Dayna Roselli: And uh Fremont Street Experience is letting everyone know about this new package that they are offering.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: It's the all-new Zip and Dip Experience.
- 1:53Dayna Roselli: It pairs slotzilla tickets, and in case you don't know what it what that is, it's a uh Zip line under the Fremont canopy.
- 2:02Dayna Roselli: Um so they're pairing slotzilla tickets with admission to Circa Resort's year-round pool amphitheater stadium swim.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: It's available Monday through Thursday from noon to six all year round.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: So if you purchase the zip to dip package, you receive two slotzilla ride tickets for either the upper or lower line and two general admission passes to Stadium Swim.
- 2:28Sean McAllister: So if you do the zip line for 65 bucks, that gets you the two slotzilla zip line tickets and general admission to Stadium Swim.
- 2:37Sean McAllister: Or you can do the Zoom line package that's 85 bucks.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: That gets you two slotzilla zoom line tickets and also two general admission passes to Stadium Swim.
- 2:49Sean McAllister: So zip and dip.
- 2:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, it makes sense, right?
- 2:51Sean McAllister: It sure does.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: That's a fun day.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: And I think like that's the thing.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: Like, we I like these package ideas that folks are coming up with and doing collaborations because you can kind of like do your day and you don't have to think.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: Sometimes planning and having to do a lot of thinking when you're on vacation is a lot.
- 3:08Dayna Roselli: So if you get a package, you're like, hey, we're going here, we're gonna do the zipline.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: After that, it's gonna be fun.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: We'll walk down Fremont, but then we're all going over to Stadium Swim.
- 3:17Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 3:18Sean McAllister: And just keep in mind that a lot of the inclusive packages that we talked about at the beginning of the summer are still going on.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: So keep that in mind for your for your next trip.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: That's true.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: Hey, someplace that we went um recently to do a story for the television show, uh, we had to mention because we were there and we're like, you know what, this is really cool.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: It's the Silverton uh casino, and that is off the I-15.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: So as you're driving toward the Las Vegas Strip, it's gonna be off to your left, not too far away from the Las Vegas Strip.
- 3:48Dayna Roselli: Um, but they have a free aquarium in there, and we noticed so many families taking advantage of this.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: The area as you walk through the front door, it was packed.
- 3:56Dayna Roselli: Um, not too, too crazy.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: You could, it was still like there were a lot of was a lot of a lot of room and enough room for you to be able to see inside the aquarium.
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: But you know, it is free, and there's a lot to look out.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: They had some really interesting fish in there.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: So there are like a hundred and sixty different species of marine life that live in that aquarium.
- 4:18Sean McAllister: And the aquarium, by the way, is not small, it's 117,000 gallons.
- 4:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's nice, which is nuts, but there are there's like up to 5,000 fish swimming around in there, including uh stingrays.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:32Sean McAllister: One of them was from Australia, and one of the aquarium guys that I was talking to said you can tell because of his accent.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: That's funny.
- 4:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they do stingray feedings.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: You can watch them 1:30 and 4:30 every single day, and they can ask questions.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: Uh you can ask questions.
- 4:54Dayna Roselli: You can hand in a question to someone who will be on a microphone and they will repeat it to the scuba diver who's doing the stingray feeding, and they respond with answers.
- 5:01Dayna Roselli: So it's like an interactive.
- 5:03Sean McAllister: The scuba diver has a microphone in their like full face mask.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:07Sean McAllister: So it's like the and then you hear them, you know, answer your question.
- 5:11Sean McAllister: And that was really interesting.
- 5:13Dayna Roselli: So cool.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: So here's something else.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: They have free mermaid swims that you can watch too.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: This is Thursday uh to Sundays at the aquarium.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: You will actually see a mermaid swimming through the aquarium.
- 5:28Dayna Roselli: I think it's almost on the half hours.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: Um I think it is, yeah.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it is, I think it starts at noon for uh most of the days, but I think it was Sunday.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: And don't quote me on this.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: I think it starts at 10:30.
- 5:39Sean McAllister: It does, you're right.
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: So yeah, so that is really fun.
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: If you want to bring the kids to see the mermaid swim, it's worth it.
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: And why not, right?
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: I mean what a great, you know, in hearing the word free is just refreshing.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: People really want to know about free attractions.
- 5:57Sean McAllister: Well, and good on Silverton for uh keeping this a free attraction.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: I think there are probably, you know, there were there are probably ways that they could have transitioned this into something that you pay to see.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: But good on them for keeping it something that really attracts families and really anyone who's in the casino.
- 6:21Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:21Sean McAllister: There were a lot of people gathered around there.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: I know, a lot.
- 6:24Dayna Roselli: Um, so we did a behind-the-scenes story on this.
- 6:26Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be on our YouTube eventually.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's really cool.
- 6:29Dayna Roselli: We go up, you know, to where you can actually get into the tank and all that.
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: I forgot that we were gonna run a little interview, so why don't we do that real quick and then we'll tell you a little bit more about mermaid school.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: True, yes.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Our quest casino um has been here for quite a while.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: It used to be Boomtown way back in the day.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: And our aquarium has been here for over 20 years now.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: So the aquarium itself has been here for a very long time.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: When I started, I actually was an aquarist, which helps take care of the wildlife that we have here.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: And I worked my way up all the way up to aquatic safety manager, so now I'm in charge of the mermaids and the safety divers.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: So quite a crowd when we walked up.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: I mean, is that usually an everyday occurrence?
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, summer mermaids are very popular.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: It's a free show, so it's does something great if you want to take the kids out.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Um we run it Thursday to Sunday, and we start at noon, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and at 1030 a.m.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: on Sundays.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: It's kind of fun to hear all the wows.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, the kids get so excited.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: It's part of the girls' favorite thing when you go down and you see their faces light up because they're seeing a real-life mermaid, it's magical.
- 7:27Dayna Roselli: You said you do offer a mermaid school.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: Tell me a little bit about that.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so we have two guest immersion programs right now.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: So our very popular one is mermaid school.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: So you can come in, we do ages seven and up, and we put you in a mermaid's tale with one of our mermaid instructors.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: They take you into our aquarium with all of our fish and show you a little bit about what it's like to be a mermaid.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so I looked it up.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Mermaid school is$200 for kids and$250 for adults, but what an experience.
- 7:52Sean McAllister: Oh, that's so cool.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, really cool that they do that.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: And they've been doing it for a long time.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: And you said you watched some documentary or something about mermaids.
- 7:59Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, let me look this up.
- 8:01Sean McAllister: It's on Netflix.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: And you was the Silverton in there?
- 8:04Sean McAllister: The Silverton was featured in this uh Netflix documentary, and it's all about like the lifestyle of um like being a mermaid.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: Wow, interesting.
- 8:17Sean McAllister: So there are people who uh like are mermaids professionally, like the ones who you see at the Silverton, but then there's also people who think that they are mermaids.
- 8:30Sean McAllister: And I don't mean to laugh, but they do.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: But they are and and there's a whole culture associated with that.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: There's mermaid pageants, there's mermaid conventions, uh, cruises.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: I'm sure people will be able to find it.
- 8:46Sean McAllister: Uh it's called Merrh People.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 8:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, and um it's a four-episode documentary, so it's not like a huge investment.
- 8:54Sean McAllister: Um, but there uh the Silverton was featured because uh a group of these myrrh people uh came and swam in the aquarium there.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: And got it.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: You'll have to watch and see what happens.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: Just so you know, at the Silverton Aquarium, they do they do use real mermaids.
- 9:14Sean McAllister: They do.
- 9:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, they do.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: Keep that in mind.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: And the steakhouse in the Silverton also is a gem.
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: We went over there to learn about everything they're doing.
- 9:23Dayna Roselli: And I must say, whenever we do this, you and I, our eyes kind of widen when they tell us, like, we offered this for this price, and we're like, I mean, the you can't beat the prices.
- 9:34Sean McAllister: Well, no, and the great thing about Twin Creeks Steakhouse over there at Silverton is that they have a really great quality restaurant, but it's not strip prices.
- 9:46Sean McAllister: So it does, it feels like you're getting a great deal on dinner.
- 9:49Dayna Roselli: They have this thing called a cowgirl dinner.
- 9:52Dayna Roselli: Listen to this.
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: It's on Friday and Saturdays, and it's$25.
- 9:58Dayna Roselli: You start with a martini, you get to what they call it, pick your ride, a smooth classic martini, or a bright, zesty uh lemon drop.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: Both look delicious.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: Um, then you get a Caesar salad in a bread bowl.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: Okay?
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: I mean, so filling, right?
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: Then you get truffle fries.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: So it's the golden fries dusted with the parmesan, the herbs, a whisper of truffle, served with a rich cravable truffle sauce on the side, the whole thing.
- 10:26Dayna Roselli: Then you get uh pasta, an alavodka, also a bowl of that.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: So you're getting a bowl of pasta, a Caesar salad and a bread bowl, truffle fries, and a martini for$25.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: I mean, that's insane.
- 10:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we looked at it.
- 10:42Dayna Roselli: The portions are not tiny, tiny.
- 10:44Sean McAllister: No, they're not.
- 10:45Sean McAllister: It's oh, it comes on like this long plate.
- 10:47Sean McAllister: And when you have the salad, the pasta, the fries, and your martini sitting in front of you, you're like, I mean, I looked at it and I thought, man, I could do a cowgirl dinner and be full.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: I know, be full, totally full.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: And that's the thing.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: It's amazing.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: Go to our Instagram, we put it up there, like a shot of it.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: You'll see a video of it.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, if you want to check that out, here's the deal.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: Um, I think they said it goes through the end of August, but they want to bring it back maybe during National Finals rodeo.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: They also told us they might be extending it.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: So we don't know when you're listening, if it's still um in play.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: However, to find the actual details, I did go to the website and it's listed there.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: So if you go to the Twin Creeks website, see if it's still there before you go.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: That way you don't get there and they don't have it.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: But they said it's definitely running through the end of August.
- 11:34Sean McAllister: And by the way, they did also say that um some customers order that cowgirl dinner as an appetizer for the table.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's a good idea too.
- 11:43Sean McAllister: So everybody gets a little scoop of something and snack on some fries, a little bit of salad, and then you order your entree.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:51Sean McAllister: Which is a great, I mean, a great way to do it.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: And obviously, if you don't want alcohol, you don't have to have it, you can pick a different, you know, drink, non-alcoholic drink or whatever.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: And you don't have to want if you don't want the martini.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and the pasta is like a twisted pasta coated in a spicy vodka sauce.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: Uh looks very filling.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: Little savory uh prosciutto bites.
- 12:09Sean McAllister: And so this was just one of the things that uh it caught our attention over there at Twin Creeks.
- 12:15Sean McAllister: Another one that I thought was phenomenal.
- 12:18Sean McAllister: They do this tomahawk for two.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: You know, the tomahawk steak is meant for two people.
- 12:23Sean McAllister: Um, but what they do is they have you roll dice to see if you could potentially get this tomahawk steak for free or discounted.
- 12:36Sean McAllister: So you get the steak, they bring you over.
- 12:39Sean McAllister: It's almost like playing Yahtzee.
- 12:41Sean McAllister: So you roll the dice in the cup and see what you roll.
- 12:44Sean McAllister: If you roll three of a kind, depending on the three numbers that you end up landing on, that tells you what kind of discount you get.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: It's fun.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: So it's always I love that.
- 12:55Dayna Roselli: A good game.
- 12:56Sean McAllister: With one set of numbers being completely free.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:59Sean McAllister: So I think they said two people uh have gotten that.
- 13:02Dayna Roselli: And then when they brought out that tomahawk, that was delicious as well.
- 13:06Sean McAllister: So good.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: It's a really nice interior too.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: They have booths and tables, uh, cute bars, not overly large, but nice.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: They have a social hour too with deals.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: So Twin Creeks at Silverton, definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a good deal in Las Vegas.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: And I think we mentioned Silverton not too far from the Las Vegas Strip, so worth a trip.
- 13:27Dayna Roselli: All right, let's switch to Icons of Rock now over at the Strat.
- 13:31Dayna Roselli: I think we told you about this in the past that they were performing at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip.
- 13:35Dayna Roselli: And now they're getting like a permanent spot at the Strat.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: This show's gonna kick off on August 25th.
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: Uh, tickets are available now.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: Now, this is a as it they're describing it as a high-energy concert style tribute to classic rock's most legendary artists.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: So you're gonna get your Ozzy Osborne Crazy Train.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: You know, you're gonna get your Kiss Classics.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: Um what else?
- 14:00Sean McAllister: Rock uh heart, some Barracuda mixed in there.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, all the classics.
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: And uh that we were looking at the video that they sent over to show, you know, how the show and some of the people that portray and tribute, and it looks excellent.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: It really does.
- 14:16Sean McAllister: Some Def Leopard mixed in there too.
- 14:19Sean McAllister: Um, and this is just great music, too.
- 14:22Sean McAllister: Like this is great classic rock.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: Because you know it all.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: We you and I say it out every time.
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: We like a good tribute show.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: Yes, give me more.
- 14:29Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: I want to know the songs.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: Yes, pour some sugar on me.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: It's a good one.
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: Um, and and apparently it has some great costuming, um, great uh vocals.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, they're playing the instruments, and it's gonna be uh having immersive visual effects too.
- 14:49Dayna Roselli: So it sounds like the whole thing is gonna be quite a production.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: So it should be really fun.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: Um it's at the Strat Theater if you're interested in tickets.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: Um you can go to the box office or the strat website.
- 15:00Sean McAllister: And they've done some upgrades over at that strat theater as well to make it possible to do these uh multimedia kinds of productions as well.
- 15:08Sean McAllister: So that'll be a great spot.
- 15:10Sean McAllister: I like that theater.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: All right, let's get to some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 15:17Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, the performers and queens in RuPaul's drag race are definitely celebrities.
- 15:23Sean McAllister: Oh, without a doubt.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: How many drag race versions are there now of the TV show?
- 15:29Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: So many.
- 15:31Sean McAllister: I think there's like 14 different franchises around the world of RuPaul's drag race.
- 15:38Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:38Sean McAllister: There's obviously the original here, there's Canada, there's Mexico, there's I mean, countries around the world have uh picked up on the popularity of the show here in the US.
- 15:51Sean McAllister: And it has become a global phenomenon.
- 15:54Sean McAllister: That's not a stretch to even say.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: So the cast members who appear on the show really do become massive celebrities who really draw a big crowd.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we're lucky enough here in Las Vegas to have a show on a regular basis at the Flamingo.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: It kicked off, I think, 2020.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: And the numbers and the show is it have just it's been great.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: Like it's never slowed down.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: It's just been wonderful.
- 16:21Dayna Roselli: People coming in from all over the world to see the show.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: They do.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: Uh for over a thousand performances.
- 16:27Sean McAllister: Uh RuPaul's Drag Race has been going strong over at the uh Flamingo Showroom.
- 16:33Sean McAllister: And we went over there and got a backstage tour.
- 16:36Sean McAllister: We got to look at the costumes.
- 16:38Sean McAllister: I went up into the dressing room with Kylie Sonique Love, who you very well may know as the winner of season six of uh RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars.
- 16:50Sean McAllister: She is absolutely phenomenal.
- 16:52Sean McAllister: Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide backstage over there at the showroom.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: I know, because you were doing the interview and I was filming it, and everything she was saying I agreed with.
- 17:01Dayna Roselli: Like, she walks better in heels and flats.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I feel you, so do I.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: People think it's weird.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: I, you know, and like I really liked Kylie and all her perspectives on things.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: So why don't we listen to what Kylie had to say?
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: We went back to her dressing room, sat down, then she gave us a tour of some clothing.
- 17:18Dayna Roselli: Again, as we always say, you know, the visuals really complement stories like this.
- 17:23Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go to our YouTube channel and watch this story, it we'll put it there.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: Um, I don't think it's airing on TV until August 23rd.
- 17:32Dayna Roselli: So maybe we'll try and get it up before then.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: Um, so you can at least get over there and watch.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: But anyway, listen to this interview and backstage tour of RuPaul's Drag Race live at the Flamingo.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: What's up?
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: It's Kylie Sonique Love.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: I'm here with Vegas Revealed.
- 17:49Sean McAllister: The season six Drag Race All-Star is giving us all access backstage and behind the scenes.
- 17:55Sean McAllister: When you step into this dressing room, what's the first thing that happens?
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: Usually I'm trying to find all my makeup because it's normally not this clean.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: But I heard we were having company, so.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: And I just get in my own world and I transform into a show girl.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: What do you think makes the show such a uniquely Vegas experience?
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: Because of RuPaul's drag race, the queer culture is being celebrated by everybody.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: And the fact that, you know, you have a trans person like myself headlining a show on the Vegas Strip, I think is super iconic.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: And then all these people who have been doing drag forever before it was like like world famous are now getting kind of the flowers that they deserve.
- 18:45Sean McAllister: I'm always pleasantly surprised at the mix of people who are out in the audience.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, we have we have people from Bump.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, I can't say that.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: We have fans of the show, we have people that's never even heard of RuPaul's drag race come in and then we create new fans.
- 19:09Sean McAllister: Is there a single costume that makes that that like changes the way that you feel when you put it on?
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: I think anything that we put on uh does that.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: Like me putting on this versus my sweat.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: I feel like I I can run the place or I can, you know, marry rich.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: I also am a Gwen Stefani impersonator.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: I have like a replica made of like one of the outfits she wore.
- 19:32Sean McAllister: I was just gonna say this is very Gwen.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: It is very Gwen, yes.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: Um I've only worn this a couple of times on the show because I like to wear a heel and these shoes are like flats.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: We don't want to do flats.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: Not on the not on the drag show, honey.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Maybe I can show you guys what I wear on the the stage.
- 19:51Sean McAllister: This is your wardrobe station kind of on stage.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: So we we do all of our quick changes here.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: I usually don't go up unless I'm getting ready to drop down from the ceiling on a stripper pole.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: So you get your show girl on with this, huh?
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: And this is the headdress that I um designed and made.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: That looks like a legit vintage piece.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Not vintage.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: I'll take it.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: I'll take it.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: Vintage piece is good.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: This is a neck piece that I wear that's fully rhymed stone.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: I wear it.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: I usually have somebody helping me do that.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: Um, help me.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: So it's so great.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: I look like one of the girls from Jubilee.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: My bob knacky fantasy, you know.
- 20:42Sean McAllister: Well, I know that we're getting close to showtime here.
- 20:45Sean McAllister: Thank you so much for letting us into your space in your dressing room and backstage here.
- 20:51Sean McAllister: And we love having you here.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Oh, thank you.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: This is where you're gonna have to be if you want to see me and the rest of my girls from RuPaul's Drag Race, because this is the only place you can see this show.
- 21:03Dayna Roselli: Sean, I've seen the show twice.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: Um, I couldn't stay to watch it this particular night right after this interview, but you did.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: And is the show still changing all the time?
- 21:12Sean McAllister: The show is always changing.
- 21:14Sean McAllister: So the great thing about RuPaul's Drag Race Live is that they have a rotating cast of uh cast members who have been seen on the TV show.
- 21:25Sean McAllister: And that keeps it fresh so that when uh people's favorite queens uh end up joining the the cast, it's like, ooh, we gotta go back to Vegas and see that show again.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 21:35Sean McAllister: You know, and it really does draw people in.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: And like what uh Kylie was telling us, she was like, This is the only place in Las Vegas where you can see me on stage.
- 21:47Sean McAllister: I'm not doing other drag shows.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: This is it.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: This is where you can see me.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: And you know, that's a a really cool thing.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: I it's great.
- 21:56Dayna Roselli: And I think that's what makes Las Vegas shows special.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: And always adds a little bit of exclusivity to it.
- 22:02Dayna Roselli: You gotta come here to see so-and-so.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: Now, who was the host that I was watching put makeup on?
- 22:07Sean McAllister: Chanel.
- 22:08Sean McAllister: Chanel.
- 22:08Sean McAllister: Chanel is from Las Vegas.
- 22:11Sean McAllister: She's been a Vegas queen for a long time and was actually the first queen to enter the workroom on RuPaul's Drag Race season one.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: That's a big deal.
- 22:23Sean McAllister: It's a huge deal.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: Now I feel like I was with royalty.
- 22:27Sean McAllister: She is royalty.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I was watching her put.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: I said, can you mind if I film a little bit?
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: Because I when I'm in the world of filming, I'm kind of concentrating on all that.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: And I was like, watching the process, it's amazing.
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: And they look so good after.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: They are experts at that.
- 22:42Sean McAllister: And the the clothes, the outfits that they wear are like couture level creations.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: And uh like Kylie, you heard Kylie talk about the fact that she's also a Gwen Stefani uh impersonator as well.
- 22:57Sean McAllister: And the outfit she had matched exactly the outfit that Gwen just wore uh on stage with No Doubt at the sphere.
- 23:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she had some great stuff, and I could see that.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: She I would love to see her do that.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: When where can we see her do that?
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: Do we know?
- 23:14Sean McAllister: Well, let's see, probably on YouTube.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Okay, well, we can yeah, all right.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: Well, we'll we'll look it up.

- 23:24Dayna Roselli: I really enjoyed Kylie.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: That was a lot of fun.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: You know, when when we were told that we could go backstage and do this interview and look at all the costumes, I was like, wow, this is like a big honor.
- 23:33Dayna Roselli: Like this show is, you know, worldwide and so popular.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: So I'm so glad that it it moved over to the flamingo and it's still there today, doing well.
- 23:45Dayna Roselli: If you want to see a fun show, have some laughs, you know, sing some songs, do all the things.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: Um, this is definitely one to see.
- 23:52Sean McAllister: And the and like I said in the in that piece, uh, there is a wide cross-section of people in that audience.
- 24:00Sean McAllister: There are like uh grandparent-aged people who are in there like uh couples.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: It's so cute.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, it's showbiz.
- 24:09Sean McAllister: It's showbiz, it's so entertaining, it's so well done, it's a great uh it's a great night out.
