- 3:17Speaker 1: Yeah, just we got all of it.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You want to buy our merch, you want to get
- 3:20Speaker 2: etched in stone with the Papa Team six community bwtv
- 3:23Speaker 2: dot com. We have all the merch. We won't talk
- 3:25Speaker 2: about the news.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We're talking about.
- 3:29Speaker 2: What are you doing? Hey, we got a Twitter community
- 3:31Speaker 2: started by Jared Ladd.
- 3:33Speaker 1: A Twitter So explain the Twitter community, Like somebody just
- 3:37Speaker 1: tweets in their product or they're on x X.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Hey, I'm gonna be completely honest with you, will I
- 3:45Speaker 2: don't know what these ex communities. I don't know what
- 3:48Speaker 2: it entails. Because I told Derek, oh, I think when
- 3:51Speaker 2: you tweet in the community, the tweet just stays in
- 3:53Speaker 2: the community. And then we tested this morning and the
- 3:56Speaker 2: tweet went out to everybody everybody, so it's like, oh, okay,
- 4:02Speaker 2: it just puts a tag that you're a part of
- 4:05Speaker 2: the community. So I don't know, we're figuring it out.
- 4:08Speaker 1: There was one I was a part of. I've been
- 4:10Speaker 1: a part of one in my life, and that was
- 4:12Speaker 1: the Severance community. How was that? I loved it because
- 4:16Speaker 1: Severance is such a you know the sickos out there
- 4:18Speaker 1: that love Severance seven siccos Yeah, Yeah, Severn's does a
- 4:23Speaker 1: great job. Similarly to like Game of Thrones, there's two
- 4:26Speaker 1: kind of shows or where there's a lot of easter eggs,
- 4:28Speaker 1: a lot of callbacks, a lot of like game within
- 4:30Speaker 1: the game within the game within the game where people
- 4:33Speaker 1: break down videos and you're kind of like, oh shit,
- 4:35Speaker 1: yeah that could happen, or damn, I didn't think of
- 4:37Speaker 1: it like that.
- 4:38Speaker 2: You're basically describing for the dads. So Severn's being a
- 4:42Speaker 2: good show with a bunch of inside game. It's just
- 4:45Speaker 2: like for the dads being a good show with a
- 4:47Speaker 2: bunch of inside game. Yeah, we need to start, you
- 4:49Speaker 2: know what we should do. We should start putting little
- 4:51Speaker 2: easter eggs we do for I don't even know where
- 4:54Speaker 2: to go from what I just said. Yeah, but if
- 4:56Speaker 2: we know something's coming in the future, maybe you put
- 4:58Speaker 2: an easter egg that they're like, I wonder why, you know.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Maybe a rizzle Jersey's hanging by it.
- 5:03Speaker 2: And then people are like, oh, that must mean Wristle's
- 5:07Speaker 2: coming on. Is Matt Stafford coming out? Yeah, Matt Stafford's
- 5:10Speaker 2: on that because he's on the Lord of the Ring sting.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Maybe wait and then when Stafford does come on, that's sicko.
- 5:16Speaker 1: That was like he's now got his own tweet.
- 5:18Speaker 2: It says, I broke this down back on February twenty five,
- 5:22Speaker 2: talk since March bro I knew that shit was going down,
- 5:27Speaker 2: and y'all slept on me. So we have an ex community. Yeah,
- 5:31Speaker 2: we have a Reddit community, a Reddit community and an
- 5:34Speaker 2: ex community.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Now join other communities. Man, this this this army, this
- 5:39Speaker 1: military is something special. It really is. We're gonna be
- 5:42Speaker 1: talking about. I was on family family vacation out on
- 5:44Speaker 1: Hawaii last week. Sherman and I were both solo parenting
- 5:48Speaker 1: over the weekends. We'll get into the solo parenting stories.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Sherman has a great lesson of the week for us,
- 5:53Speaker 1: he tells me. We'll dive into how he even got sick.
- 5:57Speaker 2: How did I even get hurt, not injured? How scarlet
- 5:59Speaker 2: it she under the weather, sick.
- 6:01Speaker 1: As a dog.
- 6:02Speaker 2: But no, you wouldn't be able to tell I'm serious,
- 6:06Speaker 2: her attitude, her all outlook on life as a seventh
- 6:10Speaker 2: or seven going on eight month old, she just ribs, dude, you.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Know what that comes from her parents. I helped her dad, Hey,
- 6:21Speaker 1: will you will you come over here? And daddy for real?
- 6:24Speaker 1: For real, brother, I actually really needed to hear that. Yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 1: like that actually.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Wore my heart.
- 6:34Speaker 1: With their daddy, man, she with their daddy. You prepped
- 6:37Speaker 1: her for moments like this. Hey, you let her know
- 6:40Speaker 1: the world's tough out there. Bro. It will beat you
- 6:43Speaker 1: to your knees and keep you there permanently if you
- 6:45Speaker 1: let it. Yeah. But it's not how hard you hit. Yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 1: it's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward,
- 6:52Speaker 1: how much you can take and keep moving forward. God. Sorry,
- 7:00Speaker 1: PT sixers, We're.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Just we're reminiscing, dude. My heart really needed that. That
- 7:05Speaker 2: was fucking good. We've been battling. We've been battling, dude, dude.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So we got back. We'll obviously break down all the
- 7:13Speaker 2: vacation stuff. But we land and Charlie reminds me that
- 7:17Speaker 2: she goes out of town. This was this past Saturday.
- 7:19Speaker 2: She reminds me, Oh, remember I'm going to New York
- 7:21Speaker 2: on Saturday.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Just gave her that, Look what.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Wait after after we just went on vacation.
- 7:30Speaker 1: We just went on vacation. She's not doing a work
- 7:32Speaker 1: trip on Saturday. Oh good, it's okay. I'll get back
- 7:35Speaker 1: Monday morning. My first question, you're not taking the kids
- 7:38Speaker 1: from me, are you? You can't. Don't don't leave me
- 7:43Speaker 1: alone for the weekend. She didn't do that, right, No,
- 7:46Speaker 1: she didn't do that. She let me keep the kids.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Oh good, yeah, thank god. Yeah, and uh, Sunday rolls around,
- 7:53Speaker 1: massive blizzard or a snowstorm hits New York City. Right yeah,
- 7:59Speaker 1: flight gets canceled from Monday. She now has to rebook Tuesday,
- 8:04Speaker 1: which that just means more solo time with you in
- 8:06Speaker 1: the kiddos. That means one word, good, good, good, can't wait.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I've been I've been sailing this shit the whole time.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Don't even worry. Stay out there, you know, and take
- 8:16Speaker 1: another vacation, fly back down to Hawaii while you're at it.
- 8:20Speaker 2: You offered that, I offered it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Then she hits me, what's today Tuesday? Yeah, she hits
- 8:29Speaker 1: me yesterday. We're sitting eating dinner yesterday, and she hits
- 8:32Speaker 1: me up. Their flight gets canceled on Tuesday. Oh good, wait,
- 8:38Speaker 1: so she's not coming in till tomorrow. My immediate response
- 8:42Speaker 1: right when she text me, I just put a good deal,
- 8:45Speaker 1: a great deal of it. Love it.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so she's not getting until tomorrow.
- 8:50Speaker 1: So she's an empty sixer. She ain't she she she
- 8:54Speaker 1: knows the game for every parent, every parent that's out
- 8:57Speaker 1: there listening right now. There's a sadness that consumes your
- 9:00Speaker 1: child when parents are out of town, more so mom
- 9:03Speaker 1: than dad.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Rue does get sad when dad leaves. We talked about it.
- 9:06Speaker 1: When I was in San Francis, San Francisco a couple
- 9:08Speaker 1: of weeks ago. A dad hack that I gave was
- 9:10Speaker 1: like it was actually this sweatshirt. Where I took her in,
- 9:13Speaker 1: she started crying. She laid on my lap. She didn't
- 9:15Speaker 1: want me to leave for five sleeps. It's only going
- 9:17Speaker 1: to be five sleeps. It felt like forever, and she
- 9:21Speaker 1: wasn't she wasn't handling it very well. And I was
- 9:23Speaker 1: so sad leaving to go to San Francisco. So I
- 9:25Speaker 1: took her into my closet. We picked out a sweatshirt.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It was this one that I'm rocking, and she essentially
- 9:30Speaker 1: carried it around all week like a stuffed animal. But Rue,
- 9:33Speaker 1: mom being out of town, that's a different It feels
- 9:36Speaker 1: like a different beast. I'm the one in the trenches,
- 9:38Speaker 1: so it feels like a different beast. We did the
- 9:40Speaker 1: same thing with Mom. Whenever Charles came down to leave
- 9:42Speaker 1: that morning, it was like five in the morning. Takes Rue,
- 9:44Speaker 1: Rue said, takes her downstairs, sleep the rest of the
- 9:47Speaker 1: night with or sleep the rest of the morning with dad. Dad.
- 9:49Speaker 1: But she went in with Charles and picked out a sweatshirt.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And now she rocks with the sweatshirt. She's been rocking
- 9:53Speaker 1: with it to school. She rocks with it everywhere because
- 9:55Speaker 1: she misses Mom. And we count down the amount of
- 9:58Speaker 1: sleeps each day. So I didn't even tell Rue and
- 10:02Speaker 1: you got your parents. You guys know the game. Whenever
- 10:04Speaker 1: the flight got canceled on Monday and got pushed to Tuesday,
- 10:07Speaker 1: when CHARLEI we were on FaceTime and she's in Rue
- 10:11Speaker 1: was like, Mama, one more sleep, one more sleep. And
- 10:13Speaker 1: I could see Charles's face start to lean into it's
- 10:16Speaker 1: actually gonna be two because we got a lot of
- 10:18Speaker 1: snow and the flight's canceled. I just chime in intercept
- 10:21Speaker 1: the conversation. That's right, one more sleep. Mama's got one
- 10:24Speaker 1: more sleep. I'm looking at the FaceTime like I'm looking
- 10:26Speaker 1: at you guys at home, right, yeah, like one more sleep.
- 10:29Speaker 1: That's right, one more sleep. So I'm thinking in my head,
- 10:32Speaker 1: this has got to be a process to get real
- 10:34Speaker 1: around to Hey, it's actually gonna be Mama's flight got canceled.
- 10:37Speaker 1: She's not gonna be here for two more nights. Then
- 10:39Speaker 1: eventually I'm like, oh, look at all the snow, Mom
- 10:41Speaker 1: showing her the snow. I'm like, looking at all the snow.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And then we get off the phone and I'm talking
- 10:44Speaker 1: to Rue.
- 10:45Speaker 2: And I'm like, uh, like, sweetheart, do you see all
- 10:48Speaker 2: that snow? Man?
- 10:49Speaker 1: I hope Mama and its flight doesn't get canceled, And
- 10:51Speaker 1: She's liked, my Mama's flight gets canceled. I like, because
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's dangerous out there, sweet o, there's a bunch of
- 10:54Speaker 1: snow on the ground. If there's too much snow, we
- 10:56Speaker 1: don't want Mama traveling. We don't want Mama risks, she
- 11:00Speaker 1: could get hurt. We might not be able to see
- 11:02Speaker 1: her for a while. And I was like, so if
- 11:07Speaker 1: it snows or the flights get canceled. We kin, that's
- 11:09Speaker 1: what we want because we want Mama to stay safe
- 11:12Speaker 1: so she can come home. The only thing that's the
- 11:14Speaker 1: worst part is she'll only will only have one more
- 11:16Speaker 1: sleep to go to, so it'll be two more sleeps.
- 11:20Speaker 1: It'll be two more But if that that even happens,
- 11:23Speaker 1: right now, she's going to be home tomorrow, knowing the
- 11:25Speaker 1: fly was already canceled, she already moved into right now.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Mama's going to be home tomorrow. Yeah, but if worst
- 11:31Speaker 1: comes the worst and there's too much snow in the flight,
- 11:33Speaker 1: the pilot says, we can't fly. That's what we want
- 11:35Speaker 1: that because we want Mama to stay absolutely, so we
- 11:38Speaker 1: massage that into her. She struggled for a moment, but
- 11:40Speaker 1: it really was smooth sailing. So that's a little dad hack.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So planes get bombarded and Mom's gonna be going on
- 11:48Speaker 1: extra sleep because dude, they love mom like Mom is.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Mom is the rock. Mom is the center of the universe.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Trio when we'll get into the zoo thing. But just
- 11:57Speaker 1: so for to hear.
- 11:59Speaker 2: If she's still on New York listening to them, Oh
- 12:01Speaker 2: she's listening right now.
- 12:02Speaker 1: There's no question.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Really, that's all really wanted to talk to me about,
- 12:07Speaker 2: was mama. Oh yeah, how many sleeps until you know
- 12:11Speaker 2: mama gets back? This is mama's sweater. Do you think
- 12:14Speaker 2: Scarlett would like my mama's sweater? Absolutely? Yeah, show her
- 12:18Speaker 2: the sweater because she's gonna love it.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So that's good to hear too. From Charro's sideev yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 2: it's it's been smooth for the most part. It's been
- 12:28Speaker 2: smooth for the most part. But yeah, well we'll get
- 12:31Speaker 2: to dive in. Because you were a solo parent as well.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Over the weekend, I was a solo parent.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You knocked out the greatest dad game that any father
- 12:40Speaker 1: out there could listen to. Yeah, and that was what
- 12:43Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, two weeks ago. Two
- 12:45Speaker 1: weeks ago, you flew the friends in town. You told
- 12:48Speaker 1: her mom your mom was coming to town. Turns out
- 12:51Speaker 1: her friends are there at the airport. You're gonna have
- 12:53Speaker 1: what was it four days? Yeah, four days with your friends.
- 12:56Speaker 1: They brought their kiddos. It's just mom and the kiddos.
- 12:59Speaker 1: You are a.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Champion Majong Wine Nights Babies. I mean, we're just talking
- 13:05Speaker 2: chill Sash and a lot of dads out there were
- 13:08Speaker 2: driving listening to this game, watching this game, being like
- 13:12Speaker 2: this man gets it, and I got to figure this
- 13:14Speaker 2: out because not only is this a massive win for
- 13:17Speaker 2: everybody involved, but sum is low key that school boards ticket,
- 13:23Speaker 2: it's rising, it was putting up points.
- 13:25Speaker 1: This is no huddle offense. Yeah, this is like what
- 13:28Speaker 1: is it, chip Kelly? You're running like a chip Kelly
- 13:30Speaker 1: spread offense like the first year was coming out. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 1: Oregon chip Kelly, Oregon organ chip Kelly. Yeah, yeah yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Mike Leach Texas tech type, Mike Leach, Texas tech type,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and like you know, two foot gaps between every offensive lineman.
- 13:45Speaker 1: People are looking at like what are we doing? You're
- 13:48Speaker 1: just telling him you're gonna pass. People are saying, what's
- 13:50Speaker 1: an RPO? What even is that run pass option? You
- 13:54Speaker 1: can do that in one play.
- 13:56Speaker 2: It's here's the deal with when the end pulls, all right,
- 14:00Speaker 2: we hit him with majong if they sit hit him
- 14:03Speaker 2: with the wine night, amen, brother, hit him with the
- 14:06Speaker 2: wine night. Either way, we're getting eight ten yards. But yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 2: I mean you would think, you right, you would think
- 14:16Speaker 2: to preface that now is Hubby's time.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you would think, now, Papa, you would think maybe
- 14:24Speaker 1: a little golf trip. Maybe a little golf trip. What
- 14:26Speaker 1: would you get hit with?
- 14:29Speaker 2: Honey, don't forget, I got that Bachelor red party. Hey, honey,
- 14:36Speaker 2: don't for don't forget. I got that Bachelor ad party
- 14:39Speaker 2: coming up. I don't think I can take a scarlett
- 14:43Speaker 2: to that. So I'm really devastated. So maybe you know
- 14:46Speaker 2: you And I was elated because I'm like, oh.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Don't take the kid. Yeah, don't take the leave me
- 14:51Speaker 1: so old games all week, don't do that. Don't do that.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Cold fran hits Nashville. It's really cold.
- 15:01Speaker 2: All of a sudden, it was really beautiful outside and good,
- 15:04Speaker 2: you know good. Oh you're going to West Palm good.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Oh good, I bet that's kind of warm. That's kind
- 15:10Speaker 2: of nice. Good. Uh, you know, I got I get hit.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Let your heart, let your hand down, have a little fun,
- 15:17Speaker 1: and hey, hey, I love you to death. We're joking.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we're joking. We're having we're having some And
- 15:25Speaker 1: you looked beautiful, beautiful with your nice son. Pay from
- 15:30Speaker 1: the beach, little party boat. Oh and hey, she deserves it.
- 15:36Speaker 2: And here's the actual dad act in the midst of
- 15:38Speaker 2: all this. Good just just celebrating it because I was
- 15:43Speaker 2: stoked and I'm you know, she's sending me funny videos
- 15:47Speaker 2: and stuff. I'm stoked. I'm having a time. But I
- 15:51Speaker 2: tried not to pepper it too much. I know some
- 15:53Speaker 2: partners are different, but like I try to let her
- 15:56Speaker 2: have her fun when what's fun?
- 15:58Speaker 1: What are we? What are we talking about?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Like too many like updates and check ins and stuff
- 16:03Speaker 2: from with Mama, Bear with Mama. Yeah yeah, I really
- 16:07Speaker 2: tried to just do face times with like, hey, we're
- 16:09Speaker 2: eating right now, yes, Hey we're sleeping.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Oh, we just woke up.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Good morning, Mama.
- 16:15Speaker 1: We do like you Mama, and letting.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Her because Jill was dying for the FaceTime stuff, which
- 16:20Speaker 2: that was great.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I would like to add to that, there's nothing better
- 16:24Speaker 3: than going There's nothing worse than going on a trip
- 16:26Speaker 3: with a couple buddies and one of them is consistently
- 16:29Speaker 3: having to lock in with the girlfriend or fiance and
- 16:33Speaker 3: having to like, hey, I got a call and text constantly.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It's the best.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Whenever you get to go somewhere and go hey, don't worry,
- 16:38Speaker 3: we'll catch up more on Sunday. You just kind of
- 16:40Speaker 3: keep me a little bit updated here and there.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, if you feel like call me
- 16:45Speaker 2: in the middle trip, give me a shout, give me
- 16:46Speaker 2: a shout.
- 16:47Speaker 1: But you put it on the Yeah, yeah, absolutely, I'll
- 16:50Speaker 1: tell you what you won't get from Papa Team six.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And that's a text message with a question of where
- 16:56Speaker 1: the diapers? That's a text message with the question what
- 16:58Speaker 1: should I feed her today? Yeah, that's a that's the
- 17:02Speaker 1: text message of Hey, how do I do the laundry? Hey,
- 17:07Speaker 1: not that I do the lie. I don't really hit
- 17:09Speaker 1: the but you know, but if I did, she ain't
- 17:13Speaker 1: getting no text about it, no, sir. And did you
- 17:16Speaker 1: see that outfit? Bro? I put that outfit together the
- 17:19Speaker 1: zoo crushed it. Yes, And I love because she's growing
- 17:23Speaker 1: into the bow. You know how I was kind of
- 17:25Speaker 1: a hater.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I kind of took some crazy shots
- 17:28Speaker 2: at scar scar Scarlet's face. Yeah, to her face, say
- 17:33Speaker 2: you look, Hey, you look dumb dude. Your dad put
- 17:36Speaker 2: you in it?
- 17:37Speaker 1: Did you choice that? Yeah? Because you look dumb dude.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Look at his bow and then flip the bow, knocking
- 17:44Speaker 1: off her head. You look like a candy wrapper. Just oh,
- 17:51Speaker 1: you can't say nothing, say so just go face dude,
- 17:58Speaker 1: your kid's a dud. It's such a bud, dude.
- 18:03Speaker 2: But yeah, she's she's grown into the boat and she
- 18:08Speaker 2: looks cute as hell. Your kids have done? You get
- 18:16Speaker 2: a little water, drip it on her face? Are you even?
- 18:20Speaker 2: Are you even doing that at home? Sir? She just
- 18:24Speaker 2: looked like she jumped off the Titanic when I poured
- 18:26Speaker 2: water on her face? What are you doing?
- 18:29Speaker 1: I don't know. I didn't know that you were supposed
- 18:31Speaker 1: to do that. Yeah, you're supposed to do that.
- 18:33Speaker 2: She have a good of a Daniel house in the water,
- 18:35Speaker 2: just like dumping water all over her patient. Oh, look
- 18:38Speaker 2: at her pantic You don't how used to the water, dude.
- 18:45Speaker 2: She's gotta get bullied out the assschool.
- 18:48Speaker 1: If you keep this up, what are you doing? You
- 18:54Speaker 1: can't bring it to the house. Scotty would eat her up, dude,
- 18:57Speaker 1: eat her alive. I don't even want to see it happen.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Don't bring her around here. Toughen her up and then
- 19:03Speaker 1: we'll talk. But uh, yeah, outfit looked great. Outfit was
- 19:09Speaker 1: on fleek. I even sent the outfit to mama's. She said, okay,
- 19:16Speaker 1: thatt us, I said, watch me work, watch me work
- 19:23Speaker 1: with my family. Pass to the zoo. Didn't forget the stroller.
- 19:27Speaker 1: This time brought the stroller. Will and I were trying
- 19:31Speaker 1: to figure out because I do have a family pass
- 19:33Speaker 1: and I was like, I technically could get all of
- 19:35Speaker 1: us in here together, but we're gonna have to, you know,
- 19:39Speaker 1: in the family passed. Yeah, we had a good laugh.
- 19:42Speaker 1: He's like, maybe if you want to get on the
- 19:43Speaker 1: family paths. Oh, we're gay. Hey, we're together, these are kids.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I'm cool with that, you know. Yeah, we were both
- 19:50Speaker 2: cool with you.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I still bought it my own tickets, but we're like,
- 19:53Speaker 1: support local business.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, obviously. Yeah, but zoo was great. Well we'll
- 20:01Speaker 2: get into zoo because that that's a crack. That's a crack,
- 20:04Speaker 2: a cold one together. I love that. I yeah, my
- 20:09Speaker 2: good Uh last night. I basically I think I have
- 20:13Speaker 2: the closest thing to a panic attack as far as
- 20:18Speaker 2: what the hell is going on with my body.
- 20:21Speaker 1: We have this little mister thing that's like a sailine
- 20:25Speaker 1: mister that helps like break up mucus. It's for infants,
- 20:30Speaker 1: and it's like, uh, you know those O two tanks
- 20:32Speaker 1: that they probably gave you on the sideline that you
- 20:34Speaker 1: just go like you have the mask on it. It's
- 20:37Speaker 1: like that. Never use it.
- 20:39Speaker 2: You didn't need it. Come on the way you were playing,
- 20:41Speaker 2: you didn't need that.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Are you all right? What was that? I'm good? That
- 20:50Speaker 1: was a loogie?
- 20:52Speaker 2: I'm really sorry. Good good. Hey, Hey, dads can't afford
- 20:56Speaker 2: to get sick, can't afford to be sick. No, they
- 20:59Speaker 2: can afford to get sick. You just can't be sick.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You can't be sick. Yeah, I did, I did check.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I don't have a fever this morning. Good. Yeah, good,
- 21:07Speaker 1: it's been better.
- 21:07Speaker 2: If you did it, would it would have been really good.
- 21:11Speaker 2: You come in, just get all of us sick. Hell yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 2: come on, let's raise our immune system, because that's what
- 21:16Speaker 2: I'm all about. I'm like again, don't bring him around
- 21:18Speaker 2: unless you toughing them up. I don't want to see
- 21:21Speaker 2: my kid boy and you get yeah, oh you want
- 21:23Speaker 2: to come over for a play date. First question is
- 21:24Speaker 2: you get sick? Oh, he's not staying at home. The
- 21:27Speaker 2: problem is it if my kid's bullying your kid, your
- 21:31Speaker 2: kid's allowing it. That's the issue.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Okay, But the O two tanks so too, thanks.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Two tank, And then I do it. You know, we're
- 21:42Speaker 2: trying to make Scarlet like it. So it's like, hey,
- 21:44Speaker 2: Mama's and dadas are going to do it. So I
- 21:47Speaker 2: started huffing this thing in front of Scarlet.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, this is so fun. Oh my gosh,
- 21:53Speaker 1: I have the mask on.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I'm just going like, dude, eight legit like broke up
- 22:00Speaker 2: my mucus and stuff in such a way that like
- 22:03Speaker 2: I started having because I have a ton of chest
- 22:08Speaker 2: congestion right now. Yeah, I all of a sudden lead
- 22:10Speaker 2: the room and I have a coughing fit where I'm
- 22:13Speaker 2: having a hard time breathing and I'm like feeling it
- 22:16Speaker 2: in my face, you know when you can kind of
- 22:17Speaker 2: like almost feel it like where your lymph nodes are,
- 22:19Speaker 2: where it's like tight like around your jaw. I could
- 22:23Speaker 2: feel my face getting red, and I'm like I can't
- 22:26Speaker 2: really breathe, and I like couldn't yell out to Jill,
- 22:29Speaker 2: and I'm leaned over the trash can just coughing, slash gagging,
- 22:33Speaker 2: and then I and so sorry for anybody with the
- 22:36Speaker 2: week summit. I just start puking Lougi's, which that was interesting,
- 22:41Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, I just start vomiting,
- 22:44Speaker 2: and then Jill's in the other room like what is happening,
- 22:47Speaker 2: like Sherman, Sherman, and I'm like unable to say anything
- 22:51Speaker 2: to her. As she turns the corner, I have this
- 22:55Speaker 2: coughing fit because I'm sure I'm dehydrated that all the sudden, dude,
- 23:00Speaker 2: my entire back just locked up, entire back to where
- 23:04Speaker 2: I just fall to my knees and like grab the
- 23:07Speaker 2: trash can. And Jill's like, oh my god, Sherman, Sherman,
- 23:13Speaker 2: and it's like talking to me. I'm on all fours,
- 23:15Speaker 2: just like still coughing.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And She's like, what is going on, Sherman, What is
- 23:22Speaker 1: going on?
- 23:23Speaker 2: In my mind? I'm going good, God, keep asking, yeah, yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 2: because we'll figure it out through me talking. And I
- 23:30Speaker 2: just go water like SpongeBob asking for water, but like
- 23:35Speaker 2: scream it and I'm still like unable to breathe.
- 23:40Speaker 1: She just keeps a good you don't need water.
- 23:43Speaker 2: You're choking, Sherman.
- 23:45Speaker 1: You're choking. You don't need one water, right God, like.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Visceral scream dude. And she didn't get me water for
- 23:56Speaker 2: like thirty seconds, like still asking me, and I like
- 24:01Speaker 2: start pounding to the ground with my fist and I
- 24:03Speaker 2: like vomit on the floor again and I'm like, give
- 24:07Speaker 2: me a goddamn water, Like I can't breathe. My back's
- 24:11Speaker 2: locked up. I don't know what's going on, but give
- 24:13Speaker 2: me a water. I'm dehydrated. Bro, It's crazy. And Jille
- 24:18Speaker 2: and I are still kind of on the frame. We're
- 24:20Speaker 2: still in the frints about it. My god, I know
- 24:25Speaker 2: it was crazy, dude, the backlocking up, Like, what what's happening?
- 24:29Speaker 2: Like I've always had really really bad hip flexers from
- 24:35Speaker 2: like tracking soccer days, which like led to my quads, yeah,
- 24:39Speaker 2: getting tight, and so that whole it band that like
- 24:42Speaker 2: goes into your lower back, like if those two muscles
- 24:46Speaker 2: are causing you to kind of hinge forward because you're
- 24:48Speaker 2: a little tightens sore it my glutes and my lower
- 24:52Speaker 2: back will tighten up really bad where it's like a
- 24:55Speaker 2: sharp pain, not a sharp pain, but it's like my
- 24:59Speaker 2: muscles are essentially in like on the sides to where
- 25:04Speaker 2: I wouldn't I wouldn't say like a sharp pain, like
- 25:06Speaker 2: a structural pain of like nerves, but it's like more
- 25:11Speaker 2: so just those back muscles on the sides of your
- 25:13Speaker 2: spine just basically saying, bro, sit down, stop trying to stand.
- 25:19Speaker 2: And that's why I use those KT tape and stuff. Anyways,
- 25:25Speaker 2: I'm not taking like the best care of myself. I
- 25:28Speaker 2: could stand to lose a good like forty pounds. I
- 25:30Speaker 2: could stand to lose or I could, you know, work
- 25:33Speaker 2: out way more, get in better shape, stretch way more.
- 25:39Speaker 2: But it's right, but you'd rather take the hard route
- 25:42Speaker 2: good the road less. Take the road less.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Take it.
- 25:45Speaker 2: And let's not forget what my new year's resolution is
- 25:48Speaker 2: to run a four hundred and under sixty seconds. Oh
- 25:51Speaker 2: that's right, let's not forget about that. But you want
- 25:54Speaker 2: to you know you're waiting. We're starting at the ground level. Yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 2: you're waiting until the week of did you show up world?
- 26:00Speaker 1: You can. You're a fucking cheetah. You don't need a stretch.
- 26:03Speaker 1: You don't need exercise and a couple shoulder impingement movements
- 26:08Speaker 1: and then take off.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Cheetah does not stretch, dude, you make a very good point.
- 26:13Speaker 2: A cheetah does not stretch. No, all that to say
- 26:16Speaker 2: on a very serious note, I do need to take
- 26:18Speaker 2: better care of myself. But when I get how you
- 26:22Speaker 2: get dehydrated. You know I'm drinking water, lollipop. I know
- 26:28Speaker 2: I do drink a lot of water and a lot
- 26:30Speaker 2: of lollipop.
- 26:30Speaker 1: But I need to drink more. If you drink enough,
- 26:33Speaker 1: you wouldn't be locking up like that. Yes, you know,
- 26:35Speaker 1: I think they issue it. He gets on a good plan. Yeah,
- 26:37Speaker 1: we need you.
- 26:39Speaker 2: We need one of those like selfish not team player
- 26:42Speaker 2: blah blah blah.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Like water. Yeah yeah, when you go and piss in
- 26:45Speaker 1: the bathroom every morning, every dude, it's not good. It's
- 26:50Speaker 1: not good letting the team down. I am.
- 26:53Speaker 2: We need you at a championship level. Yes, where you
- 26:55Speaker 2: were hydrated.
- 26:56Speaker 1: P'sing like a light yellow light, dude, because right now
- 27:01Speaker 1: you would think it's highlighter. It's Gatorade gold gold. It's
- 27:07Speaker 1: like the the like the no, no, no, no, the
- 27:10Speaker 1: what do you call the embroidery of my hate? A
- 27:14Speaker 1: nice little Vegas gold? That ain't good, brother, No, not
- 27:17Speaker 1: at all. Do you have a camera in the living
- 27:19Speaker 1: room to where you can go back home and then
- 27:21Speaker 1: watch tape with wifey? Would juck and wish? Dude?
- 27:25Speaker 2: If I had had a name, they remember right here.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I needed you to get me water. If you're deciding
- 27:29Speaker 1: in your mind you're not getting me water, would I
- 27:31Speaker 1: rather you have done? Is you start kicking me in
- 27:33Speaker 1: the face.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 27:37Speaker 1: If you're not gonna give me water, don't just stand
- 27:39Speaker 1: there and you know what's going on, what's wrong? Just
- 27:42Speaker 1: start kicking me in the face and knock me out. Yeah. Hey,
- 27:46Speaker 1: I'm glad his eyes were on it though. That's good.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Get something fall out some kind of flipped or fell out, right,
- 27:54Speaker 2: what happened?
- 27:56Speaker 1: Yeah? Something the board the SDI just it just stopped recording. Good.
- 28:01Speaker 1: I think that's got disconnected. But we're back.
- 28:04Speaker 2: That's probably that's probably the PT six gods going a
- 28:07Speaker 2: Sherman easy because you're still on thin ice with the wifey.
- 28:12Speaker 1: That could be Jill hacking comes. I really could, Jill,
- 28:16Speaker 1: I really could. That's that's like you better come correct.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah, because I know we had that week with my
- 28:22Speaker 2: friends and I went on the Bacher the baucher atte
- 28:24Speaker 2: party and but like you're using up all your equity
- 28:28Speaker 2: for this moment. That's just you gotta understand.
- 28:32Speaker 1: There goes the golf trim.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Bye.
- 28:38Speaker 2: But yes, I digress. I digress that that truly is
- 28:42Speaker 2: the story. Yeah, that's why I'm sitting like an absolute freakazoid.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Right now, my back. You're Shelley yourself right now, I am.

- 30:37Speaker 2: like the great meme reset of like a nine of
- 30:40Speaker 2: the seven Kingdoms already took over Twitter. This is like
- 30:42Speaker 2: a week after he says, a nine of the seven
- 30:49Speaker 2: KINGDOMSMO finished episode three last night and what on twist
- 30:56Speaker 2: at the end, everybody's on my episod.

- 32:21Speaker 2: and then you know, we haven't done in a while.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Some of some of the good takes we say, good Carol, Yeah,
- 32:27Speaker 2: but we'll just get into some good lore.
- 32:30Speaker 1: We should for dads out there that's thriving, but also
- 32:34Speaker 1: there's suck. With the thriving, there's a balance. Yeah, we'll
- 32:37Speaker 1: dive into the to the suck. What does it mean
- 32:40Speaker 1: to embrace the word good? What does it mean? Yeah?
- 32:43Speaker 2: Does it mean to enter that mindset I have in
- 32:47Speaker 2: Woodward on YouTube and where we'd said my fiance has
- 32:51Speaker 2: officially gotten me hooked on the show. We get married
- 32:54Speaker 2: next month we were listening to the episode and Saran
- 32:57Speaker 2: was talking about his wife's just stational diabetes, and my
- 33:02Speaker 2: fiance just casually goes, is that what you have?
- 33:08Speaker 1: Good? Good?
- 33:14Speaker 2: I'm just now from the wording of this, I'm just
- 33:17Speaker 2: now figuring out this is coming from this is the girl,
- 33:23Speaker 2: our future, our St. Sixer, just it his betrothed with.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Is that what you have?
- 33:30Speaker 2: She replied, Sir, I am not pregnant, nor do I
- 33:34Speaker 2: have diabetes. What in the world that is wild? Future?
- 33:43Speaker 1: Mt sixer.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I apologize on the behalf of your ST. Sixer, But
- 33:46Speaker 2: we're just we're figuring.
- 33:48Speaker 1: We're all figuring out, Hey, you got that right? If anything,

- 33:57Speaker 1: on you. Right, What the fuck are you talking talking about? Oh, dyslexia?
- 34:05Speaker 1: Like you mix up words and said that's what you got? Right? No,
- 34:08Speaker 1: I got one here from Jorge. This is a new
- 34:10Speaker 1: dad comment. What's up, gentlemen. Jorge Medina reporting for duty.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Recently got recruited for the PT six and in boot
- 34:18Speaker 1: camp right now. He's in budge training. My wife and
- 34:21Speaker 1: I found out she is pregnant in January and now
- 34:25Speaker 1: about to finish our first trimester. Let's fucking go like huge.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I came across your podcast early this month and have
- 34:31Speaker 1: nothing but tears of joy listening to all the PT
- 34:34Speaker 1: sixers out there with encouraging messages. Lastly, I want to
- 34:37Speaker 1: give a shout out to my right, to my wife Raquel,
- 34:41Speaker 1: being the crown on my head and helping me find
- 34:43Speaker 1: my way back to Jesus.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Good. Good, that's a great that's a great comment, Jorge,
- 34:47Speaker 2: congratulations to.
- 34:48Speaker 1: You both, or well done shouting out your future empty
- 34:52Speaker 1: Siko And he gets it. He's been on for a month.
- 34:55Speaker 1: He's recently got recruited to BT six in boot camp
- 34:58Speaker 1: right now, so us finish buds training bringing until dad's status.
- 35:03Speaker 1: The seed has been planning.
- 35:04Speaker 2: To be good.
- 35:05Speaker 1: The heir to the throne might be there.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Oh, he didn't say whether or not.
- 35:11Speaker 1: He did not say whether. Okay, okay, he did not
- 35:13Speaker 1: say whether or not. That's what I'm looking for. They
- 35:14Speaker 1: just finished our first trimester. But he gets it, or
- 35:17Speaker 1: hey or hey understands the assignment.
- 35:20Speaker 2: That's a big thing we can get into.
- 35:21Speaker 1: I'm thinking for our next one that we purely do
- 35:25Speaker 1: not want to know we legit, want to find out
- 35:27Speaker 1: delivery date.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I think for the next one. Yeah, fingers crossed that
- 35:30Speaker 2: we even get opportunity. Fingers cross I have a couple
- 35:33Speaker 2: of general comments. Yeah, money Master twenty one on Spotify.
- 35:38Speaker 2: At what age can will and sums kids start listening
- 35:41Speaker 2: to the pod? Going to get some good feedback from
- 35:44Speaker 2: the kids crying, laughing emoji. That's a fantastic question by
- 35:48Speaker 2: money Master. Fantastic question.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I cannot wait for little miss Scarlett to be proud
- 35:55Speaker 1: of her father. We know at all that he's doing.
- 36:00Speaker 1: See us cry a lot, oh lot. They'll know how
- 36:02Speaker 1: much we love them, that is true. They'll get to
- 36:06Speaker 1: hear a lot of old stories. Hmm, you know about
- 36:09Speaker 1: bickering with their sister. Yeah, giving us problems, giving us hell,
- 36:13Speaker 1: how she struggled with bedtime, missing mama, some of the hacks. Yep.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I do think of like that age of like eight
- 36:22Speaker 2: nine and eight nine ten range where my mom would
- 36:26Speaker 2: break out the video camera with the red white yellow
- 36:30Speaker 2: chords and plugging into the TV and play some of
- 36:33Speaker 2: my baby tapes. And it was truly like watching a
- 36:38Speaker 2: bad American idol audition. I'm just sitting there like I
- 36:41Speaker 2: don't want I don't want to see it, put it away,
- 36:45Speaker 2: and it's like you and I are. That's that's just
- 36:48Speaker 2: on the internet. Yeah, Scarlet and Rue, not so much
- 36:51Speaker 2: the videos, but the stories. You're talking about, how I
- 36:55Speaker 2: shit on you shit on your arm?
- 36:57Speaker 1: Dad? What do we do?
- 36:58Speaker 2: We got to figure out a way to garden from shockwave?
- 37:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, damn well we've already done. So what a
- 37:05Speaker 2: great euphemism?
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah? What euphemism? What does that mean?
- 37:09Speaker 3: Uh?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Euphemism is like a it's like a nice little fun
- 37:14Speaker 1: code word that you can call something.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that, but it's not a code word. It's a
- 37:19Speaker 2: real roller coaster in Texas. Boom baby, you just boom baby.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Just ephem euphanized, you just euphanized, all over it, all
- 37:29Speaker 1: over it, Yes, sir, Yes, sir, shockwave baby, shockwave cow pow.
- 37:35Speaker 2: On Facebook. We have a Facebook, Yes we do. Just
- 37:38Speaker 2: learning that yo for the dads, but that makes sense.
- 37:43Speaker 2: You gotta be on Facebook. We're gonna be about the
- 37:45Speaker 2: dads a lot of that, a lot of the boomer
- 37:47Speaker 2: generations on face. We're down with the zuck.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Appreciate you guys, keeping it keeping it real in a
- 37:52Speaker 1: world where everyone acts as if they have it together.
- 37:54Speaker 1: So we have a few days when we don't feel perfect,
- 37:57Speaker 1: So we don't feel perfect, can feel alone. You guys
- 38:00Speaker 1: are bringing the laughs and the feels. Thank you for
- 38:02Speaker 1: showing the boys our love for the family is enough.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I'll be shipping out on deployment soon and im thankful
- 38:07Speaker 1: to have your podcast while I have to be away
- 38:09Speaker 1: from the family. Thank you for what you guys do.
- 38:11Speaker 1: It really does make a difference. God bless you gentlemen.
- 38:14Speaker 1: That what was his name, Kyle pout Goal, Thank you
- 38:17Speaker 1: for your service, brother, Thank you for your service. Dude.
- 38:20Speaker 2: We have touched on that so many times, but it's
- 38:23Speaker 2: worth touch on every single time every time. Dude, to
- 38:27Speaker 2: go and deploy and be away from your family and
- 38:29Speaker 2: to serve that idea means so much more now that
- 38:33Speaker 2: I have a family. Yeah, I think to myself, dang, dude,
- 38:36Speaker 2: that's that's a higher calling that they're wanting to go do.
- 38:40Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 38:41Speaker 2: It's a hardship and sacrifice that's involved with all of that.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, man Like having to pull yourself out, essentially
- 38:48Speaker 1: outside of yourself, to serve something greater than you for
- 38:52Speaker 1: your country, knowing how hard it is to leave the family. Yeah,
- 38:56Speaker 1: and put everything in place with a strong rock you
- 38:58Speaker 1: must have at home with wifey and just man, it
- 39:02Speaker 1: would be brutal to leave the kiddos.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, didn't grow up with a whole lot of
- 39:07Speaker 2: military families, although there's a really big base in Fort Worth.
- 39:10Speaker 2: But if if anything, every single military mom that I've
- 39:14Speaker 2: met it like, you're exactly right. It's like that rock mentality, dude. Yeah,
- 39:20Speaker 2: holding it down, dude. Jill's grandmother had eight kids while
- 39:27Speaker 2: dad was out serving.
- 39:29Speaker 1: What a monster?
- 39:31Speaker 2: What a monster?
- 39:32Speaker 1: Dude? Yeah, Yeah, dude, My grandpa, William Merle Sr. He served,
- 39:38Speaker 1: but he was always one of those guys. He never
- 39:40Speaker 1: really told you what he did. That's the best, you
- 39:43Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like he just told me. He
- 39:45Speaker 1: was a cook. It's like God, I just cooked for people.
- 39:48Speaker 1: And uh, he made incredible eggs. You talk about it.
- 39:51Speaker 2: You talk about this egg recipe. Now you go over
- 39:54Speaker 2: make the scrambled eggs. He put the bacon bits on tie.
- 39:58Speaker 2: He makes some bacon bits, put him on top with
- 40:01Speaker 2: some cheese. But the secret ingredient, that's a bad dude.
- 40:04Speaker 2: He put a little pack of sugar.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Sprinkle it on the eggs and every sugar crazy crazy,
- 40:12Speaker 1: I know, but to be egg scrambled eggs, bacon, and
- 40:15Speaker 1: a pack of sugar that he'd use inside the eggs.
- 40:19Speaker 2: And it was life changing for me. I always used
- 40:23Speaker 2: to always beside myself.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Like what do you put in here? And he wouldn't
- 40:25Speaker 1: tell me for the longest time. He finally told me
- 40:27Speaker 1: when I was in high school so I could show
- 40:30Speaker 1: off to the boys. I'm like, I'm trying to like
- 40:31Speaker 1: spread the spread the good word of these scrambled eggs.
- 40:35Speaker 1: How you doing it? Grandpa? Grandpa? Yeah? We were very
- 40:40Speaker 1: I guess traditional, Like everybody was just grandma and grandpa.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Like all the new stuff like Lowlandopa, that Rue and
- 40:45Speaker 1: Scottie or that Ru calls her grandparents. All the Mama, Papa,
- 40:50Speaker 1: all that stuff was not formed. But I'm just like, oh,
- 40:52Speaker 1: isn't that just grandma and Grandpa. Yeah. And then on
- 40:55Speaker 1: my mom's side, it was like Grandma Jerry and Grandpa Charlie.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Because on my dad's side we saw them all the time.
- 41:00Speaker 1: They lived the town over. That's all. It'd be like
- 41:02Speaker 1: Sunday we'd have Sunday dinner, so you all after church
- 41:05Speaker 1: you go over. It'd be either KFC. You get the
- 41:09Speaker 1: family serve stuff, KFC bro every now and then they'd
- 41:12Speaker 1: cook if it'd be a holiday, like they would cook
- 41:14Speaker 1: and my mom would cook, you know, Kentucky Fried Chicken.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Dude, fried chicken dinner. I don't care where it's coming from, KFC,
- 41:24Speaker 2: Chicken Express, you name it, dude.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Yeah, after he passed, eventually we find out like maybe
- 41:29Speaker 1: my brother's knew because my brother Cody, he was number
- 41:32Speaker 1: I was the oldest, Cody was middle White's the youngest,
- 41:34Speaker 1: or Cody hung out of grandma and Grandpa's all the time. Yeah,
- 41:38Speaker 1: but after he passed, you end up learning like we
- 41:39Speaker 1: found like a gun h'd used over you know, hit
- 41:44Speaker 1: some Germans damn. Yeah, found some other old stuff. But
- 41:49Speaker 1: so he just never talked about it. I always thought
- 41:51Speaker 1: he just cooked. And so when people talk about their
- 41:54Speaker 1: their family serving or whatever, it's not like I left
- 41:57Speaker 1: at the opportunity to talk about how my grandpa was
- 41:58Speaker 1: a chef. Yeah, because it's like it's not like, you know,
- 42:00Speaker 1: as a kid growing up, you're hearing your somebody in
- 42:03Speaker 1: the family like being a badass overseas. Yeah, you're like
- 42:06Speaker 1: telling your friends about it.
- 42:07Speaker 4: Did he stand when they did like things at church
- 42:10Speaker 4: or games. Because my grandpa was an accountant in Hawaii
- 42:12Speaker 4: during World War Two and so he like wouldn't stand
- 42:15Speaker 4: up doing military stuff like it was for the army.
- 42:18Speaker 4: But he was like, no, I didn't really like serve
- 42:20Speaker 4: like everyone else.
- 42:21Speaker 1: But we were never in situations like that because my
- 42:23Speaker 1: grandpa like pretty much the majority of my upbringing. Funny
- 42:27Speaker 1: the way they worked. My grandma she lost her hearing,
- 42:31Speaker 1: so she had hearing aids, so she was she had
- 42:34Speaker 1: a massive hearing brother. She wouldn't fully deaf, but she
- 42:37Speaker 1: was almost there. My grandpa was legally blind, so he
- 42:41Speaker 1: couldn't drive or doing it. He couldn't like leave the house.
- 42:44Speaker 1: But they just the perfect game. They needed each other,
- 42:47Speaker 1: They needed each needed each other and just be in
- 42:49Speaker 1: the house every afternoon, Like you know, you drive by,
- 42:52Speaker 1: you see him sitting on the swing on the front
- 42:53Speaker 1: porch waving. They had a house on the corner on
- 42:57Speaker 1: the awning. They had an awning over the window, you
- 42:59Speaker 1: know those old school lawn They had like a sea
- 43:01Speaker 1: plant that etched like on the awning, so you knew
- 43:04Speaker 1: it was the Compton house just sitting on the right
- 43:07Speaker 1: down the road from the park. You'd see him wave like.
- 43:09Speaker 1: We'd be over there all the time, especially in the
- 43:11Speaker 1: summertime when we were out of school. What we'd run
- 43:13Speaker 1: down to the to the community pull pay a dollar
- 43:16Speaker 1: to get in. We'd beat We were pull rats growing up.
- 43:19Speaker 1: He threw me twenty bucks to move the yard no way.
- 43:23Speaker 1: And he was a craftsman too, like he'd be out
- 43:25Speaker 1: in his little garage and he built me like this
- 43:27Speaker 1: wooden wooden bolt action rifle, a wooden't he built it
- 43:31Speaker 1: and then had a bolt, a bolt in the wood
- 43:34Speaker 1: a bolt action rifle. Well didn't shoot anything. It was
- 43:37Speaker 1: just a toy because he knew I wanted like a
- 43:39Speaker 1: beyond that. It was like, I'll make you something else.
- 43:42Speaker 1: When we had our first dog. We got our first dog,
- 43:46Speaker 1: he built a doghouse like a dope. Sturdy, lasted forever.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Chef gave me a and again legally like legally blind
- 43:56Speaker 1: like he was. He was nice bro in the garage.
- 44:00Speaker 1: A legend.
- 44:00Speaker 2: He's a true he's a true Willie One show. He is.
- 44:04Speaker 1: What was actually about it?
- 44:06Speaker 2: Well done? By the way. On social media, when you
- 44:08Speaker 2: posted something from your house and somebody said you hang
- 44:11Speaker 2: that TV, and you said, I just threw shells. Check
- 44:17Speaker 2: out the pod.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yeah, buddy, buddy, check out the pod. Yeah. I'm a
- 44:21Speaker 1: shelf guy. One shelf to be exact. I don't do
- 44:24Speaker 1: more than one.
- 44:25Speaker 2: I audibly chuckled at that comment. I was, well, that
- 44:28Speaker 2: was really funny.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:30Speaker 2: I don't know where I was going with that, but yeah,
- 44:32Speaker 2: you were talking about their grandfather serving all that stuff.
- 44:38Speaker 2: We read a military comment.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you kind of just don't know the tails.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I guess until they share or even after they pass.
- 44:43Speaker 1: I felt like I learned a lot more stuff about
- 44:45Speaker 1: him in the military because when he passes, like the
- 44:47Speaker 1: military comes and does like this, uh has like this
- 44:50Speaker 1: moment where they fire off the the weapons. Yeah, they
- 44:54Speaker 1: do all these things, and you kind of just learn
- 44:56Speaker 1: more about it because he never really talked about it.
- 44:57Speaker 1: All the time. They like fold the flag and yeah,
- 45:00Speaker 1: yeah that's really really cool. Yeah he was a beast though, Bro,
- 45:04Speaker 1: he was a beast man.
- 45:06Speaker 2: You're making a custom toy bolt action rifle, Like, that's
- 45:11Speaker 2: a guy that I just want to be in his orbit.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Yeah. He tell me how to draw and sketch, Like
- 45:15Speaker 1: he'd take his magnifying glass and he's like, you know,
- 45:18Speaker 1: he's like drawing foto pictures for me. He was a
- 45:21Speaker 1: beast man. What a legend. He'd be yelling at my
- 45:23Speaker 1: grandma because she was hard hearing my grandma, and I'd
- 45:27Speaker 1: do there was this one story.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Could you hear? Could you hear the like your own
- 45:31Speaker 2: voice in the hearing aids because they were turned up
- 45:33Speaker 2: so loud. Oh, I have no clue I've come across that.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Sometimes my grandma.
- 45:37Speaker 1: She'd just be chilling, you know what I mean. She comes,
- 45:40Speaker 1: she'd want hugs. She'd want to kiss you, like ten
- 45:42Speaker 1: to fifteen times. Are you'd be leaning down there, all right, Grandma,
- 45:45Speaker 1: she'd just be sitting in a rock She would just
- 45:48Speaker 1: be sitting in a rocker. You were never too big
- 45:51Speaker 1: to sit on her lap. She wanted you just sit
- 45:52Speaker 1: in her lap so she could do so she could
- 45:54Speaker 1: balance you on the knee and just back wump diddy
- 45:56Speaker 1: womp diddy, woo woo woo. I do that with my
- 45:58Speaker 1: kids now. But even when I was a high schooler,
- 46:01Speaker 1: she'd want me. She tap her lap, I come in
- 46:04Speaker 1: said on her last she's back. Want did Want was
- 46:06Speaker 1: just like an eighteen year old.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Seventeen year old, Oh, Scollie did Nebraska just getting bounced
- 46:13Speaker 2: by my grandma. What a good woman, dude.
- 46:17Speaker 1: When I was that good, I was gonna tell when
- 46:18Speaker 1: I was young, my grandpa yelling at her. Oh, when
- 46:21Speaker 1: I was young. I forget how old it was. I
- 46:23Speaker 1: was single digits. I was a little jit.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're playing checkers. I was playing my
- 46:27Speaker 2: grandma and checkers.
- 46:29Speaker 1: She was moving. All of a sudden, she stopped moving,
- 46:32Speaker 1: and I'm like, my grandma, your turn, you gotta go.
- 46:34Speaker 1: And my grandpa sitting there, her name was Maxine. He
- 46:38Speaker 1: called her Mac, Mac, you gotta move, and Grandma, it's
- 46:42Speaker 1: your turn. He beg Mac, you gotta move. The peace.
- 46:47Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, Mac, dammit, hey, and
- 46:50Speaker 1: then my grandma's sitting there.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Her teeth fall out, starts having a stroll. Hey, and
- 46:59Speaker 2: I'm yo, I see her teeth fall out. She plumps
- 47:04Speaker 2: in the chair, her teeth fall out. I screamed, bloody, murdered,
- 47:08Speaker 2: sprint to the living room.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Her teeth fell out. Well, what the hell is going on?
- 47:13Speaker 1: Because he can't fell out of fella.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Grabbed the phone down nine one one, grabbed the wired
- 47:26Speaker 2: phone off the wall, and.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Ambulance everybody comes and get at the hospital. She was
- 47:35Speaker 1: good that she was because I know I'm sitting here
- 47:39Speaker 1: having like the cynical humor about it. Grandma has a stroke.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Don't play, don't play your checkers. Then my dad one.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Time was helping get her in the car because he's
- 47:51Speaker 2: taking it to her her beauty appointment, her salon appointment.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because she'd have this perm and she was like
- 47:59Speaker 1: traditional school.
- 48:00Speaker 2: She roll all the time.
- 48:01Speaker 1: She rocked the perm and wore gowns like you know
- 48:04Speaker 1: those like prettier gowns or whatever. Oh, you know, you
- 48:07Speaker 1: had to kind of help them everywhere. Yeah, And my
- 48:10Speaker 1: dad was.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Helping her in the car one time. And they're Catholic,
- 48:12Speaker 2: right yeah, oh no, not not not my dad's side.
- 48:15Speaker 2: They're back, sorry, your mom's side.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Yeah, my mom's side was like Roman Catholic. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 48:19Speaker 1: but my dad has to take her to the to
- 48:21Speaker 1: a salon appointment, helps get her in the car, doesn't
- 48:24Speaker 1: fully shut the door. My dad walks around to the
- 48:26Speaker 1: other side, gets in the car, and all of a sudden,
- 48:30Speaker 1: my grandma falls out of the will falls out. There's
- 48:32Speaker 1: like a little slope in the front yard. She's like,
- 48:35Speaker 1: she will, what did Bill do? He was shit oh shit,
- 48:49Speaker 1: you get get up. Damn it, Mac get up.
- 48:53Speaker 2: You're good. That's gonna be us, dude, Grandpapa, team, that's
- 49:00Speaker 2: gonna be us.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, Bro.
- 49:04Speaker 2: They sound like legends did They were legends, Man, they
- 49:08Speaker 2: were legends.
- 49:09Speaker 1: God, I love that.
- 49:10Speaker 2: The only funny story that comes to mind as far
- 49:12Speaker 2: as my grandfather had Parkinson's. Yeah, and so, like I
- 49:16Speaker 2: didn't really get to know him like you would like
- 49:19Speaker 2: your typical granddad because you know, he just wasn't talking
- 49:22Speaker 2: at that point. A sentence would take like five minutes
- 49:26Speaker 2: to get out. So I had some talks with him.
- 49:28Speaker 2: One thing he did say to me when he was
- 49:30Speaker 2: watching the Miami Alabama National Championship on his special edition VHS,
- 49:36Speaker 2: and I was at that game and my mom was
- 49:38Speaker 2: tummy by the way, it took him about fifteen minutes
- 49:42Speaker 2: to get it out because he would kind of shake
- 49:45Speaker 2: and he would work the word up into his mouth
- 49:48Speaker 2: that he'd get it out. And basically the sentence he
- 49:51Speaker 2: told me, he said, ain never gonna be a team
- 49:54Speaker 2: better than the Todd told me that took him fifteen minutes.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Tell me they never gonna be it. He's sitting there
- 50:02Speaker 2: like better than the Todd, you're right, and I'm like, yes, yes, sir,
- 50:06Speaker 2: cha cha. But he had this wheelchair and they had
- 50:10Speaker 2: a nurse that had to like live in in the
- 50:12Speaker 2: house to like take care of cha cha. And he
- 50:15Speaker 2: was obsessed with girl scout thin mints that was like
- 50:18Speaker 2: his poison, dude, Like, and he couldn't he couldn't like
- 50:24Speaker 2: use his hands or anything. Once the Parkinson's got really bad.
- 50:28Speaker 2: But one night, dude, this is after like him not
- 50:31Speaker 2: being able to really do anything by himself, the nurse
- 50:34Speaker 2: starts hearing stuff in the kitchen and it's like Julie, Julie,
- 50:37Speaker 2: which is my grandmother's name, because obviously it'd be her, yeah,
- 50:41Speaker 2: not Charlie. He can't even get out of bed, yeah,
- 50:43Speaker 2: And she comes into the kitchen and flips the lights
- 50:46Speaker 2: on and he's sitting in his wheelchair. He can't. He
- 50:50Speaker 2: kept the thin mints in the freezer because he liked
- 50:52Speaker 2: him cold, and the entire bar of thin mints is
- 50:55Speaker 2: sticking out of his mouth and he's sitting there in
- 50:58Speaker 2: his wheelchair just shaking with the thin He was a
- 51:02Speaker 2: sinko for the thin mins. Dude.
- 51:04Speaker 1: What a legend and big, big, big time right now
- 51:07Speaker 1: for Girl Scout Cookies, Big Times metals border on the
- 51:10Speaker 1: other side that's sitting in there. Yeah, shout out.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Shout out the Girl Scout.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Shout out Brett Maze and his fan. Shout out for hooking. No,
- 51:16Speaker 1: shout outs to Brett Mazi, He's a beat.
- 51:19Speaker 2: Sicco bring bring us the more girls Scotty, bring us
- 51:21Speaker 2: some more Girls Scout cookies. Shout outs. You gotta deliver
- 51:26Speaker 2: some girl Scout cookies.
- 51:28Speaker 1: You every day you'd walk in, my grandpa be sitting
- 51:31Speaker 1: in his room because he loved the Westerns.
- 51:34Speaker 2: But he'd be sitting there, have this, you know, the
- 51:35Speaker 2: little box TV.
- 51:37Speaker 1: But he'd be sitting there because again he was he
- 51:39Speaker 1: was he was legally blind, so he could just kind
- 51:41Speaker 1: of see the what like the the shade around the
- 51:45Speaker 1: shape of you. He kind of just knew based on
- 51:47Speaker 1: size who was who. But you'd walk in and bang
- 51:50Speaker 1: a left and just look in the room and he'd
- 51:52Speaker 1: be like, say, this is the TV. He'd just be
- 51:56Speaker 1: He's just sitting up in his chair. He'd be like
- 51:58Speaker 1: this close, this close watching his Westerns. Will you just
- 52:08Speaker 1: actively making his site so much more? Dude, parenthood, barhood, parenthood.
- 52:20Speaker 2: I got one last one from Gibson eighty eight on Spotify.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Gibson says, Milk Team six here. My husband and I
- 52:27Speaker 2: are first time parents. Who is six month old little
- 52:30Speaker 2: boy and we love listening to your show together on
- 52:33Speaker 2: drives to Saint Louis. Well no family come home hoping
- 52:38Speaker 2: to get your uh, hoping to get y'all's thoughts and
- 52:45Speaker 2: realize it is not medical advice. We were advised against
- 52:49Speaker 2: circumcision at birth due to most likely needing a procedure later.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Now the specialist says, we don't have to do the procedure,
- 52:59Speaker 2: but they can do it if we want him circumcised.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Would he be made fun of later in life if
- 53:07Speaker 2: we don't do it? Help?
- 53:11Speaker 1: Do you want my personal opinion that about? So they
- 53:15Speaker 1: gotta advise against circumcision. They want our advice if they should.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Do it now, our wait for later in life because
- 53:21Speaker 2: now like they were gonna circumcise, whether they're like, hey,
- 53:24Speaker 2: if we circumcise, there's gonna have to be a follow
- 53:26Speaker 2: up procedure just because of what's going on. But then
- 53:29Speaker 2: they are like, hey, what we thought was going on
- 53:31Speaker 2: isn't going on. It's a normal like everything's good. So
- 53:34Speaker 2: if you want to circumcize them.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Now you can. We can do it.
- 53:39Speaker 2: So they want our They know we're not medical experts,
- 53:41Speaker 2: but they want they know we're not.
- 53:43Speaker 1: They're basically asking will they be made fun of? You
- 53:47Speaker 1: came to the right spot. You can't.
- 53:48Speaker 2: This could not be a better podcast for this question
- 53:53Speaker 2: because I got an answer. He's gonna get made fun of.
- 53:57Speaker 2: We we had a quoteque unquote and eater because we
- 54:05Speaker 2: had an ant eater on our soccer team in high school.
- 54:09Speaker 2: And uh, yeah he knew that.
- 54:11Speaker 1: We knew that.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Everybody knew and it was talked about a lot, and
- 54:15Speaker 2: he was called an eater. He was called an eater. Yeah,
- 54:21Speaker 2: I had a D piece, had nothing to worry about.
- 54:23Speaker 2: But you know it wasn't a German army helmet. It
- 54:26Speaker 2: was like, do have some some weapons on them? Yeah, dude,
- 54:30Speaker 2: they got a little extra something something. Of course, it's
- 54:34Speaker 2: gonna it's a D piece. Conversation.
- 54:37Speaker 1: It's a conversation piece. Yeah, conversation starter. You're in the
- 54:41Speaker 1: shower shower with the boys. You just gotta equip him
- 54:43Speaker 1: with some some wit.
- 54:44Speaker 2: And some humor. Yeah, if that's the route you're gonna take.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you sit there a shower and you realize the
- 54:50Speaker 1: boys everybody's meat peeking in the shower and you just
- 54:53Speaker 1: look over you. I gotta clean him. Yeah, I call
- 54:55Speaker 1: him the Hooded Strangers. So what yeah, yeah, you know,
- 54:58Speaker 1: it's not that big of a deal. We play hide
- 55:01Speaker 1: and seek every day. Yeah, you gotta name him. I
- 55:07Speaker 1: mean he's gotta yeah, yeah, yeah, he's gotta. He's gotta
- 55:10Speaker 1: have a name.
- 55:11Speaker 2: And he also needs to have a superhero name for
- 55:13Speaker 2: when you know, yeah, it's almost more like a reverse
- 55:18Speaker 2: because he's got the cape on. But then when he
- 55:21Speaker 2: becomes a fucking megas order.
- 55:23Speaker 1: And then when it's like when it's habsy and it's
- 55:26Speaker 1: like almost like a turtleneck on him, giving like a
- 55:29Speaker 1: professor name. He looks very you know, well educated. Yeah,
- 55:36Speaker 1: he came to the right place. Yeah, have a little
- 55:38Speaker 1: fun with it, you know, bag and tagget if you will,
- 55:44Speaker 1: bag and tagget. But yeah, what's the answer? Hey? You
- 55:49Speaker 1: do you?
- 55:50Speaker 2: I don't think we have no fucking clique how to
- 55:53Speaker 2: handle this question. So we're just going to our defense
- 55:56Speaker 2: mechanism as humor. Who might be think we're being immature
- 56:00Speaker 2: and stupid about this, Yeah, but you are asking, you're
- 56:05Speaker 2: asking a podcast producer and a former NFL player, whether
- 56:08Speaker 2: or not a lot. But you know it's not his tip.
- 56:13Speaker 1: We don't know.
- 56:15Speaker 2: I know it involves a lot of extra cleaning. It's
- 56:17Speaker 2: an actually step with hygieney.
- 56:23Speaker 1: That's a big bis. You close it up being it
- 56:27Speaker 1: and drop a piste bomb in the show. Yeah, like,
- 56:34Speaker 1: oh yeah, we'd be doings bombs in the shower. Biz
- 56:37Speaker 1: would not be cut Like that makes all this in
- 56:40Speaker 1: the world. That's awesome. Yeah, it's just like and dude,
- 56:44Speaker 1: our guy that would get the ant eater comments and stuff.
- 56:47Speaker 2: He was the man.
- 56:49Speaker 1: He was the man.
- 56:49Speaker 2: He owned it. He had a great personality. That's all
- 56:52Speaker 2: you need, man, a ton of fun. Great dude totally
- 56:56Speaker 2: owned it. And like, yes, it was like a part
- 56:59Speaker 2: of his identity, Like it will be a part of
- 57:02Speaker 2: your identity. But like to superpower, Yeah it really, it
- 57:06Speaker 2: kind of is a little bit.
- 57:07Speaker 1: It kind of is he's got to know you got
- 57:10Speaker 1: something that most people don't have. Yeah, and so you're
- 57:13Speaker 1: gonna get questions. I'm sure at times are feeling awkward,
- 57:15Speaker 1: But that's the moments for you to come in with
- 57:17Speaker 1: the ice breakers. Yeah, you just get equipped with the
- 57:19Speaker 1: icebreakers and have the personality with it.
- 57:21Speaker 2: You're gonna own it. He's gonna crush it. He's gonna
- 57:24Speaker 2: crush it and'll get in college and word will get
- 57:26Speaker 2: around and blah blah blah. And he's gonna be at
- 57:28Speaker 2: a party and the girls gonna come up to him,
- 57:30Speaker 2: be like the rumors trail. Yeah, yeah, we can find out.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Yeah that was the Green Ranger. They were called Megasors, right,
- 57:47Speaker 2: powers Ord Megazor. You know when he had the flute.
- 57:53Speaker 1: And the gods will of Megazor like comes out of
- 57:55Speaker 1: the water. Hey, I kind of heard he just pulls
- 58:00Speaker 1: out a flute.
- 58:07Speaker 2: And I know we're talking about your sweet six month
- 58:09Speaker 2: old baby boy.
- 58:16Speaker 1: That I'm sure is just a sweetheart.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Yeah.

- 1:02:42Speaker 1: the kiddos out of the house. We're gonna burn some time,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: have a little bit of fun. We go to the
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Nashville Zoo Local Nashville Zoo, Phenomenal Zoo, Phenomenal Zoo to
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: take the kiddos. They love absolutely every animal that comes through.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Scarlett was just chilling the entire time, just being a warrior.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: We're just having fun, checking the vibes. Where are we at,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: what are we doing, doesn't matter. Just give me the
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: banky dude. And Rue was really team leader at the
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: end of the day. Yeah, Ru wanted to see certain things,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: but also like she's helping try and show the kiddos.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I had Scottie. I brought out the double stroller. I
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: knew Ru would want to, uh, probably sit in the stroller,
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: not walk around everywhere, so that always think on your feet,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: bring the double better to have it not need it
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: than need it and not have it. Yeah, dude, Scarlett
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: was ripping around in the stroller. We're duoing up. Got
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: a couple four of the dad's fist bumps. You at him.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: I had almost six encounter, which, yeah, that'll be fun too.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I hope that who PETI siko that you knocked me
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: and did Yeah. I was holding Scarlet up on her
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: stroller with both hands to where like she needed to
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: be held with two hands.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like the back end. We were finding
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: the exit. So yes, getting ready to leave. We've been
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: there a couple hours.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: And I totally just neglected my daughter to give out
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: a little for the dad's fist pump. As soon as
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: I let go Scarlet, she's almost eats it.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: It's like stroller goes sideway chef. Hey, buddy, I love
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: your dad.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Podcast nuts.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Oh let me let me almost kill my kid nuts. Yeah.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Oh she's good. Good five second roll.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: You caught it, though, I caught her saved close one.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: It was closed, dude. But we ripped around, had a
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: great time. I was really engaging with both Scotty and Scarlett,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: trying to point at all the Oh look at this
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Scotty squealing. She's got this little squeal when she sees.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Like birds or any animal, really, Bro, Rue is fully
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: I don't want to speak for you about your daughter
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: for her or for her, but my takeaway of Rue
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: from that is like she is at the age where
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: she is very much a help. She is not a hindrance,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: and I'm sure she could be if she had an episode,
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: but godly, dude, I mean just an absolute tour guide
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: through the zoo for Scarlet. I'll be honest, Bro, she
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: is an asset.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: She is an ass when like say, well, I don't
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: remember the last my mom was out of town, but
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: days where it's like me and the girl, so maybe
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Charles out for the day whatever, which is me at home.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: But when Mom's not there, something goes off in Rue's
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: brain as I have to help this poor old man.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Let's go, dude, I have to help that dat, let's go.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: And so she's always she's been helpful every day that
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: mom has been gone. Yeah, like on top of it,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: like she she's one of those, she's very much a firstborn.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: She's very much like an oldest. Yeah, like got some
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: of the type a that she'll have in her very
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: like structure. Needs to understand the mission, understand the rules,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: and she'll carry it out. She's a stud. She is.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: She knows when it's time to put Scottie down, and hey,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I need you to put on your pj's a night
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: and do all the things. Makes your brush is ready
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: when I get back downstairs, Let's draw. Let's let's draw mom.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: She loves drawing. Mom pictures every day. Big into the
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: arts and crafts. Love that. But she'll just be quietly
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: doing it downstairs.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Wall. I'm upstairs putting Scottie down and everything I need.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Can you help me do this? She's yeah, Bro, she's
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: been in an asset the entire I'm.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Very open to learn too, dude. That was so much
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: fun of She would ask me questions.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: There was the tiger thing that you saw where it
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: will show the picture of a tiger, but then it's interactive.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: If the kids flip it around, it shows the muscular
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: bone structure of the tiger. And so ru was like,
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Uncle Sherman, what's that pink stuff? And the tiger? What's
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: that pink stuff? I was like, that's the tiger's muscles.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: She was like inside the body. I was like, yeah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: she goes, muscles are pink? I go yeah, And she's like,
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: I have you know I have muscles, blah blah blah.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: I was like, that's right. And then when she started
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: pointing out the bones, she was like, these are bones.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Tigers have bones.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: I was like, they do.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: I was like, and these are ribs. I was like, ru,
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: if you feel right there, can you feel your ribs?
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: And she started feeling it and she was like, a
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: tiger has way bigger ribs than me. And I'm like, yeah,
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: it does, totally, dude. She was just such a joy
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: to interact. Dude.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: We got in the truck to drive home after because
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: you know how she was having a moment with Scarlet
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: where she's doing throwing the SWR mom sweatshirt up in
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: the air.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: I'll give you that video, chef, because that actually is
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: very cute.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and Scarlett's laughing because rus like throwing the sweatshirt
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: like up in the air and making her laugh. We
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: got in the car and I was like, grow, you
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: were so kind of Scarlet like, thank you, Like that's
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: very helpful for Dad and Uncle Sherman. It's very helpful
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: for us. And she was just super curious and like
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: why it's helpful. I'm like, well, it's always good when
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Uncle Sherman and I we get to push your showlers
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: and catch up and talk with each other. And sometimes
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: the babies, the kiddos, they need us, So we got
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: to be basically at their beck and call all the
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: time for whatever they need, if they need a snack,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: or they need the beanky, or they need this, or
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: they need to be entertained. I was like, and you
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: were doing such a great job keeping Scarlet entertained, talking
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: with Scottie, pointing at the animals and help sherman dad
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: add a talk and have fun with each other, watch
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: you guys. And then she'd be like, why is it helpful?
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: And she just had you know, they're in such a
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: why question phase years old and four years old, but
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: everything's a question, and she's just super curious on learning,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: like why was so, why was that good? Or why
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: did that help you out? It helps Sharm, But yeah,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: it helped Sarm because Sharm, you know, he's their mama
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: is gone for the weekend, just like your mama is
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: gone for the weekend. So Sharm is hanging out with
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Scarlet solo. So he's tending to Scarlet all the time,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: all day long. Yeah, making sure she has everything and
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: probably has to entertain her, make her laugh and make
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: her smile. And you were doing that while we were
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: at the zoo with her, So Uncle Sharam got to
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: just have fun hang out with you.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I literally leaned up against the car while she
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: was doing it. I truly thought to myself, that is
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: so awesome. Like I literally was just leaned up against
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: your truck with my arms folded, just watching her make
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Scarlet laugh and giggle. Yeah, And I'm like, dude, that's
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: so cool.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: That's so cool, just seeing our kids interact. Yeah, and
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: like Ru being like, oh Scarlet that you know, Sharm, Sharm,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: are you watching she I'm making her laugh. I'm like, yeah,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: you're killing it, like you keep doing it.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Like she's a showman. She wants people watching. I didn't
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: tell you what she told me. When she was like,
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: hold on, I gotta tell Uncle sherman by she came
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: up to me and she said, will you tell Scarlett's
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: mom that I liked making her laugh with my sweater today?
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: And I said, I will gladly pass out along. I said,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: thank you so much for sweetheart.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: That's such a sweetheart.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Jesus me up.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, she's a good one.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Yeah, she's she's a beast. Man doesn't come without trials
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: and tribulation a hundred percent doesn't come without trial tributa.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: She dominated the twelve hour travel time to Hawaii, dominating.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Yeah, how was all that, dude?
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: It was because we didn't even getting into that at
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: the zoo, like how the kids did traveling scott Zilla
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: was scott Zilla. Love it good? She's a beast, dude.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Good she during the travel time, it was again, our
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: first flight took off from Nashville at seven thirty in
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: the morning, so we had the kiddos up early. And usually,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: you know, as a parent, you're hopeful that your little one,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Scotti is around fifteen months old, but you're hopeful that
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: they like you know, they'll eat their food or take
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: their bottle and then like go to sleep or like
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: zonk out, and you're hoping for like an hour at
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: a time. Absolutely, out of the twelve hours of travel,
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Scotti probably slept a total of ninety minutes sporadically. Yeah,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: maybe like combined. And then outside of that, like, Scotti
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: is a busy body. She is like a she's just
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: she handles herself like a reckless, abandoned bro like has
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: to be moving, has to be doing stuff. What I
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: hated too is Mom had to essentially hold her the
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: entire time because she's a big she's a big mommy's girl,
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Like she'll play with me, but she'll play with me
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: from mama's arms, or if mom's in the vicinity and
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I'm holding her, she just she reaches and like you know,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: yells and does all this stuff. So you're trying to
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: like you're trying to think about everybody. You're trying to
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: think about everybody around you on the plane because it's
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: a long travel time. Like the first flight in Arizona
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: was like four hours. Then you had like a four
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: or five or five hour flight to Hawaii from Phoenix
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: after a couple hour layover. Wasn't it wasn't terrible, but
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: it's like there was no Mom didn't get to nap
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: at all. I passed out for a few minutes one point.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: But yeah, Scotty, Scotty was tough. Scotty was tough. There
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: are moments where you're like you want to put a
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: bullet in your head and hey, take the plane down.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Were over the water, put in the water, Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: that looks good. Yeah right there.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: She seems that age too. Of like Scarlett, I feel
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: like is at the tail end of if we hit
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: her with a bottle. If we've been playing with her,
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: playing with her, playing with her, getting that energy out,
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: and then we hit her with the bottle. We can
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: then wrap her in a blanket and incentivized sleep and
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: she'll take Yeah.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: Yeah, You'll be like, yeah, I guess I could conk
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: out for two hours.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Yeah, right here.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: But Scotty's in that phase where she's she's curious about everything. Yeah,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: she wants to play, she wants to climb again. It'd
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: be like Rue in the middle seat, because Scotty's a
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: lap child, so we're sitting in a three piece row.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Rue's in the middle seat. We have this cool little
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: like suitcase, a roller suitcase where you can take out
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: and kind of turn it into something like four plane seat.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: That's kind of a shut out. That's a dad hack
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: right there. I can't really I don't know what the
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: product is.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: If one of you guys can search it up, I
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: have no clue what to call it, but it's like
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: a little kid's roller, like a roller suitcase. We can
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: turn it into basically an extra little platform. So if
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: rude does want to sleep. She can lay back. We
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: have her pillow, she can kind of lay down on
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: the seat and also in that little space next to
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: the legs, she kind of sprawl out. But Scotty didn't
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: want to stand in the middle part and just hold
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: the seat and like engage as people behind us. The
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: people behind us were great, everybody around us great. Knew
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: that we were just in a in trench warfare the
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: entire time of Scotti. But she wants to climb. She
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: wants to do all the stuff.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: It's a suitcase, you said, will right, Yeah, because I
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: found one that's like a ride on suitcase.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: It's like a ride on suitcase, a real ride like
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: a horse and you'll have this like longer laying yourd
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: thing that you're kind of dragging her and moving around
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: the air.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: It might be stoke looks I mean, there's like foot
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: pedals and stuff on this.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: It looks like she doesn't have foot pedals, but it's
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: something like that. That sounds unreal.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's it. Yeah, Yeah, is there foot pedals
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: on it? Now it's more like grooves, I guess, like yeah,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: but it's got like.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Stickers that they can put on on just Yeah, that's
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: it right there. If you want to show the graphic
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: for a that hack, shout out product, shout out to use.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: It works wonders for us. But we'll have like her blanket,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: stuffed animals pillow, and then like some arts and crafts
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: or books or whatever in there. So it's like her
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: little dang like her little setup. But she rude dominated
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: very good, very patient, you know, would ask how much
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: longer we have kind of be bummed every now and then,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: but not she never had any real meltdowns or anything else.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Scotty was a tough one. Scotty was a tough one.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: Jill said that about Ru when I like described the
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: zoo thing. She was like, she's a firstborn. Yeah, girl
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: through and through.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, she's super helpful. Yeah. And then for any parents
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: out there, like thinking about traveling or doing family vacations, dude,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: just do it like it sucks. The traveling sucks. I
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: even told my wife when we were talking about doing
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: a vaca. Yet good, like doing a vacation, I also
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: want to stay somewhere like in like on the mainland
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: to where you're not flying that long. Yeah, because I'm like, dude, Scott,
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: he's gonna be a nightmare. She is every time we travel.
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: She's talking me in to Hawaii. Love Hawaii. But I'm like, bro,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: it's such a long travel. But they happy wife, happy life.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Come on, you want to go to Hawaii. Let's go
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: to Hawaii. The resort was beautiful.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: But my advice for those people, if you have a
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: wife who is adventurous and wants to travel and see
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: things in going vacations, dude, just just eat the grenade
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: and do it. Because as hellish as it was travelveling
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: there because we were wiped out, we got there and
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: it just when you get to the destination, it's just
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: so worth it, especially when you you know, we had
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: nothing on the schedule because it was kind of a resort.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: It wasn't like all inclusive or anything, but it was
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: a beautiful resort. We got upgraded when we got there
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: the agent. Because everybody, anybody who's followed me for a
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: long time or a few years probably knows or understands
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: the lore of Expedia when we traveled to Italy a
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: few years ago.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Travel has been a nightmare for the Compton family, and
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: to nothing that y'all have done right, Like y'all say a.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Nightmare situation with Expedia. I took the country to war
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: against Expedia. We got it figured out eventually, but we
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: didn't fly to Italy the time we wanted to fly
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: to Italy. We had our bat, we had everything set up,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: we had our tickets, but we apparently weren't in the computer.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I was going to do that in the computer, and
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: that was a nightmare. So from that, we used one
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: of Charles's friends who's a travel agent and apparently she's
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: set up for whoever she works with shout out making
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Taylor go check her out on Instagram. But she was
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: our travel agent and whoever she works with, like they're
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: eligible for upgrades like this list of like five to
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: ten upgrades. If the resort of hotel has it available
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: when you're there, she could qualify for an upgrade. We
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: got upgraded bro to the most. I mean it's I
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: did my best not to flex, yeah, because I just
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: had that vibe where you go and you're you're a part,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: and you're staying somewhere that you feel like you shouldn't
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: be here, you don't belong here, where you feel like
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: you made it like it was a four bedroom suite
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: with a private pool and it was insane. Hello, and
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: I'm grinning here to hear the entire time, just like,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: how how do we have this? But it was amazing, bro.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: We got to chill, we pool beach every day, Ruth
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: swimming like six seven, eight hours at a time. It
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: was very relaxing. It was great to get away. But
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: it was a phenomenal vacation. Dealt was some jet lag
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: good it looked at dude, just the little outfits, the
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: little outfits for the girls, and those family pictures that
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: you had, just everything that comes with the vacation that.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: Probably is a pain.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: I feel like that is applied across fatherhood of just
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: everything's gonna suck to some extent, but all the extra steps.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: But then the payoff, dude.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: The payoff is huge. And if you're a dad or
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: a parent out there like me, like I, we went
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: on zero family vacations growing up. Yeah, all of our
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: stuff basically went into sports for myself, and so all
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: of my vacations were essentially like baseball tournaments or football camps,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: like whenever my parents can muster up and put towards
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: that they did. I would also be the kid where
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I traveled with a buddy. So say we're on the
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: baseball team, I'd be in the car with you and
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: your family going and staying. We'd be sleeping in the
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: same bed. I'd be like to tag a long kid.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: My parents did everything I can. We were middle class.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: They worked hard, but all of it went towards us
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: with sports, our passions, everything else. But we went on
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: zero family vacations because didn't have the time, didn't have
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: the money, and so it just never happened. Charle kind
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: of opened my eyes to vacationing, like even growing up
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: in the sports world and playing in college in the NFL,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Like when I would go on vacations, it would be
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I never wanted to be anywhere past like three or
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: four days because you feel like you're out of the structure.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: You feel like you're taking away from things you could
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: be getting better at or chasing that one percent to
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: get better.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: For Charle, get me to go on week long vacations.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Two week long vacations.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: We spent I want to say, five or six nights
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: in Hawaii, DoD family vacations, going and seeing going and
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: seeing different parts of the country, seeing different parts of
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: the world, Like, dude, it is those are core memories
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: that you're gonna have with your kids that you're gonna
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: look back on and you're gonna be happy you did them,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: especially at a young age, because we want to get
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: them in a rhythm to where we do a family
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: vacation every year, or we get to do it a
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: couple of times, Yeah, to where they grow up going
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: and seeing different parts and being excited. I did to
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: see new things and experiencing new things. But man, take
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: the family bacon.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: In the shay, and there are so many ways to
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: do it from your standpoint of Like you can do
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: the family vacations where you are driving to the Grand Canyon,
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: you know, Yeah, and you're driving you find the campsite
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: that has like some nice little cottages that are affordable whatever,
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: like whatever the trip looks like just going on a
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: trip with family, dude.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're one hundred percent right, Like you don't
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: need much on the family vacation because there could be
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: listeners out there. Yeah, it sounds amazing. You get upgraded
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: to a four better and sweet. Yeah.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, like you got a lot of money, you got
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: the world. You can do all these different things.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: But there would be moments where we're sitting there on
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: the beach and all rou wants to do is throw
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: rocks into the water. And I'm thinking of my head,
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: you don't need all of these things to have like
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: a phenomenal experience. It's nice.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: It's nice that we get to enjoy it, that we
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: get to do these things. This privileged life that they have.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: They have no clue that they're on a beach in
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Hawaii right now and this is the peak of life.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: They just want a rock and they want to throw
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: in the water. They just want you to join them
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: wherever it might be and throw that rock in the water.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: We like, truly, I was blessed enough to like get
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: to go on some vacations and stuff. And my grandmother,
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: I told you, lived in Blue Mountain Beach, Florida, like
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: right by Grayton and Seaside and stuff, So like getting
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: to go see her was pretty much a vacation. But
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: some of my favorite memories were just like going out
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: into the country with my dad, like west of Fort Worth,
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: where people that know Texas are like, yeah, there's not
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: a whole lot out there until you hit Abilene. Yeah,
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: and throwing huge pieces of wood into like a stock
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: tank so that they would float like battleships, and then
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: sitting there with my brother and my dad and throwing
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: rocks at the sticks until you can snap them and
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: break them enough that they would sink. Like that is
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: literally one of my favorite memories as a kid is
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: finding a good stick to go throw in this stock
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: tank and then try and sink it with the rocks.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: And it's like that cost almost negative dollars. Did Like
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: that costs nothing, and you can create that any sort
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: of way. So to your point, like, yeah, any type
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: of travel, dude.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: Like I remember we'd have like a we do like
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: a we go camping after like a baseball season was over.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: So I remember having fond memories just being in the
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: sleeping bag, being in the tent. But I'm sitting here
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: like as i'm as I'm thinking through it. It's like
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: the parents, you just enjoy watching your kids have fun
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: and engaging and playing with your kids because your kids
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: are they're so in the moment that again, all they
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: need is some sticks, All they need is some rocks,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Like they don't need much. It's just knowing that you
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: guys are embracing the suck together, figuring out learning things
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: in real time about each other getting to the destination.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: You mom and dad, you're kicking back, You're enjoying whatever
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: you can, because it's still work when you travel, like
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: when we went to Destined last year. Like it's constant
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: work when they're at certain ages being young, like under
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: three years old. Yeah, but the moments where you are
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: finally relaxing, or you are finally playing, or you are
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: just watching your kid play by themselves and the smallest
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: thing entertained them like that is like the joy that
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: you have behind going out on any adventure. Yeah, you
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: don't have to go far. And again I say that,
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: it's like I'm sitting here thinking through It's like, yeah,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: I'm sure people listen to It's like you have the
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: means to do YadA, YadA, YadA. That's true. I'm very
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: blessed that I get to do that, which is sick.
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: Dude, that's nothing. Yeah, yeah, I'm not ashamed of I'm
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: just thinking how it gets to where even it's relatable
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: to people that could be feeling that way.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: And it's like, dude, it doesn't take much man.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: At all, and it will suck loading up the car.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: Oh good good, you're gonna forget to pack a couple
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: of things for the kids.
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: Go.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they're screaming the whole time in the car ride
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: because you're not playing the same song over and over. Good.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: Good, they're not taking a nap when it's finally nap time.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: You just want them to relax.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: Your two year old three year old's fighting you on
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: that time. I don't want to sleep. I don't want
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: to sleep. I know you don't want to sleep. I'm
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: just letting you know. If you want to close your
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: eyes and let your head back and relax a little bit,
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: you're more than welcome to. I don't want to. That's good.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: That negotiation, that yelling is good.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: She keeps on hitting the same drum button on her
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: little Cube game and goes play the dru plate, the
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: drop plate, play play play plate bike play plate, play
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: the drums. Good, this is life, this is what it's
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: all about. Good. Keep hitting that annoying sound, Scotty.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: That hit the little karaoke box out the other night,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: and Scotty was taking a microphone and just putting the
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: next of the speaker, so it's making the.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Blaring, rotten ass noise and Rue's laughing.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, Scottie, stop and she just looks up
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: at me as those shit eating grant and keeps doing it.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Good Scott, this is bro. Scotty's alt.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: Scotti is an animal. You're at whatever hotel you're.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: At, they have a pool. Your kid wants to swim
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: all day. It's finally time to relax. They don't want
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: to go any dinner. They want to go pool.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Hey, can we go to the pool after you finally
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: just say, oh, okay, fine, we go to the pool
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: after for the love of God. Good Scotty get the
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: microphone and getting microphone feedback and just evils.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Bro. She's a menace. That's incredible. She's a menace.
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: Bro.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: She'll go and take She'll go and like takes toys
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: like say, Rue, there's this there's this little game that
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: we have from from like the Everly the Everly boxes.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, where it looks like connect four. That's a
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: sequence of colors go down the line. So Rue fills
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: them all right, Scotty will come over and grab one.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Rue will get pissed. Scotty knows Scott. They'll be sitting
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: there hand fighting. Scotty ends up grabbing one and immediately
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: when she grabs one, turns around and takes off running
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: like Scotty, give that back to Rue, and Rue will
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: be kind of like crumbling a little bit, standing by
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: the toy, like, Ru, you got you can't.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: I'm like kind of laughing. You just can't let her.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: She knows you want that, so she sees that you
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: give her a reaction. That's what she wants.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: She thinks you guys are playing and Scotty, as I'm
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: telling Rue that when she's about to crumble by the toy,
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: Scotty standing at about five feet away, just standing there
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: looking at Rue, just wanting her to get up to
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: kind of go after Rue. No, I'll beg see if
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: Scotty will give it to you. She be Scotty, can
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: you give me that?
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Please? Scotty will hold it out and take three steps
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: and then once re reaches out, she'll drop a no
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: turn and run. No swear, I swear I'll get it
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: on film for you every all the.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: All the time, y'all at the zoo. I'm sitting there
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: and Scotty was like kind of in her own world,
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: but she was interacting a ton. But she's like kind
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: of in her own world like Scarlett is, but she's
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: able to actually see animals, point at animals and make
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: you know that, like.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: And like look at me, like look I see it,
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: like you look too.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: So she was kind of sitting there and like eating
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: her snacks, and you were interacting with Rue showing them
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: the monkeys, I believe. Yeah, the girl ill looking at that,
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: and Scarlet and Scotty they are both just kind of
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: in their own little world and their stroller. And I
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: know that Scotty understands, like y'all talk to her and
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: tell her things, and she does so, so I'm like,
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: I know she understands.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: She's great hiking her head no. Yeah.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: So I was like, I'm just going to talk to
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: her like an adult, and I was like, hey, Scotty,
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: I was like, this is my daughter Scarlet, And I
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: was like, you do a really good job of waving
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: at people. I bet that she would like it if
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: you waved at her. And Scotty literally turns to me
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: and looks at me like this and just keeps on staring.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: I go, if you want, dude, you don't have to,
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: but if you want to wave at Scarlet, you can
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: wave better.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: She probably like that. And she's still just looking at
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: me like this and she looks over her shoulder at
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Scarlet and she goes, I was like, that was in
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: You're right though, she is like in her own world. Yeah,
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: most of the time she's so she's she's such a
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: joy to be around. Did you see uh the training
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: for the A Gap video. We're in our We're at
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: our spot on vacation. No over there going.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: Oh oh sorry, she justing the doors. You can see
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Ru's reflection in the door.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: I sent you the video last night to where she
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: climbs up on her own little slide that where she
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: like she like kick her like pull her heels so
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: that way she can get some traction to go down
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: on this little I mean it doesn't stand very high,
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: but she like falls down and kind of falls down sideways,
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: hits her head against the wall, like falls in between
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: like and like bad, Yeah, hits her head. You can
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: hear the thud, falls like in between the beam back
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: a little bit, and she just gets up smiling. Bro
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: gets up smiling and makes like a little like e no.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: He's like yeah yeah, And I'm like I showed that
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: text you back on that yeah, yeah, okay, because I
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: was like that was hilarious.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: But I showed instantly Jill that video. I was like,
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: that's not normal, baby, But I mean, like, that's like
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: pretty fearless, right.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: She's Yeah, Scotty is that way. She's way different than Roof.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: We would hit her head going down, she'd have been crying. Yes,
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: she'd been like, Okay, maybe I'm hurt here. I'm kind
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: of embarrassed that I fell down. Yeah, very much like
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: the first child that thinks about everything. Yeah, but Scotty's
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: got like this reckless abandon about her where she is
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: kind of fearless.
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: She is, to Jill's point, because she sees a bunch
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: of toddlers at her job. The only reason that I
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: was interested in hearing like her perspective. And she was
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: like yeah, like that's like a high thing that she
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: just was like, I'm gonna climb that and then hey,
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: guess what I think I'm gonna jump off that too.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: Oh didn't stick the landing and just like ate it
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: against the wall. Good goods, Like what a stud dude.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: We were in the because we're at the kids pool
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: most of the time most of the days, and Scotty's
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: in like this one where it's like one foot or
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: it might be six inches eight inches foot deep and uh,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: you know, she'd be walking and she would literally tip
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: or fall over her slip and she'd be sideways like
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: under the water in the water and I like, go down.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: I'll be laughing, come over and just kind of pick
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: her up and she's just like ah, and then get
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: back up and just keep it going, bro. Or I'd
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: like throw a little torpedo rocket in the water, shout
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: out JPJP got.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: Root for those are electric and the kids loved them.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: But they'd be right underwater where Scotty can reach on
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: a grab, but sometimes she'd miss and just go like
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: head first down in the water and she's like, you know,
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: reaching and get up and we'd go oh snap.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: After the first couple of times, she realized like, man,
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: she isn't she doesn't care. She's not even phased, like, bro,
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: you're drowning.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: That's going to be I mean that's literally like let's
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: say she's playing soccer, volleyball or whatever like in high school.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: She's gonna like eat it, like she's gonna get like hurt,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: and she's literally just gonna be like.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: And just keep going. Just like that was so bad ass.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: And I even think about anything else.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: Anything.
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that didn't hurt. That didn't hurt. God, dude, Hey,
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: by the way, flying back was hell. The worst part
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: about I feel like vacation two is when you're leaving
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: vacation you don't want to leave and you travel back.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: We took a red eye back for so we left
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: local time in Hawaii. Six point thirty was the flight,
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: and then we flew seven hours to Dallas. Kids slept,
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: kids did a great job sleeping. Mom and dad we
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: got zero sleep for whatever reason. I just can't get
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: comfortable on the plane. Yeah, zero, bro.
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: So when we got back, operated after a red eye, good, yeah,
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: good operate on fumes.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: Charles's parents were over, ol and open were over at
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: the house. They helped for a little bit. But transitioning
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: off a jet lag, that's probably the hardest part. Yeah,
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: coming back, because going there it's not that bad. They
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: still fall asleep. They're exhausted, so they're tired. You might
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: have a couple meltdowns right before bedtime, but overall they
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: go to sleep fairly quick.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: And then they're waking up early. You're waking up early,
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: like four or five in the morning.
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's a four hours Yeah, but traveling back
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: is a nightmare. It is, and it hit us on
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: on Saturday. Charles leaves Saturday, I gotta wake up. This
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: is my dad lost a guy. Gotta wake up because
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: I'm handling everything for the weekend, weekend activities. Rue had
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: ballet Saturday morning. Rue wanted to go. Her and Mom
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: have me up in Roue's room the night before, prepping
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: me on ballet, like I know the outfit, but it's
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: like she wants a ballet bunch. She gets a ballet
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: a ballet bunch every weekend because Mom was a phenomenal
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: ballet dancer growing up, so Mom always has her prepped
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: and ready to go to the pristine amount like perfect
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: little uh ballet bunt. And Charles is showing me the
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: bobby pins will be way too hard for you. You
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: can twist it or wrap it around and you put
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: another hair tie in. And Rue's kind of trying to
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: coach me through it too, and I'm like, I got you,
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: I got you, We'll get you right. I'm watching YouTube
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: videos that night before, like I watched episode one and
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: two of A Night of the Seven Kingdoms. Then I'm
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: watching a YouTube video on how to do like a ballet,
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: watching film, just watching till watch watch you tape, fail
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: to prepare, Prepare to fail. Yeah, dude, I don't set
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: an alarm the next morning because usually the kids are
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: up around six thirty seven all the time. Yeah, And
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: I wake up in a panic because I think the
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: monitor dies because I can't hear Scottie. And I kind
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: of woke up on my own at eight thirty after
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: Mom comes down, leaves, puts her in the bed. She's
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: got to get mom's shirt, sweatshirt.
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: We got to talk about what things we love them
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: about mom, what we're gonna miss about mom, what we're
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: gonna do while Mom's gone.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: And then we finally get back to sleep around like
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: six fifteen in the morning. And I wake up at
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: eight thirty bro in a panic. You know the feeling
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: when you're just like, oh shit, something happened here. And
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: I'm on I'm on the wall, I'm on watch Rue,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: still passed out my bed. I'm like, okay, she's good.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: I see that's eight thirty. I'm like, oh shit, ballet's
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: at nine. We're not gonna make ballet. I text my wife.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I just text hey, So I just woke up and
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: we're not gonna make ballet. And my wife's like, do
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: you feel like you could just get the kids up
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: and getting ready to go, Scotty can go in to pajamas,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: like basically make it happen. Yeah, it's probably not gonna happen,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: but I see because I think the monitor might have
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: died because Scotty is usually up crying something. Because she
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: went down at normal time the night before, Scotty was
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: face down. She slept about nine fifteen.
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: But she was getting those hours back.
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Hawaii caught up to us. But Rue was bummed
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: that we couldn't do ballet because we go upstairs. I'm like,
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: let's get dressed, like we're gonna go to the zoo
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: with Uncle Sherman Scarlett. She's like, but what about ballet?
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: I was like, oh, sweetheart, I told you we we
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: over something. You overslept, you didn't wake you didn't wake
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: that up real and uh wait, yeah, what do you
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: feel like we overslept? Dad did a poor job getting up.
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: I couldn't get everybody going like we missed ballet. We
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: can't do ballet today. Yeah, but I want to do
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: the ballet bun. I want to do ballet and I'm like,
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: oh shit, and you start feeling that something could be
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: coming on if you don't figure out ballet. So how
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: about this, how about we get you ready for ballet
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: and I'll throw on a ballet class downstairs on the TV,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: and you can do a ballet class. She's like, I
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: wear the dress or what they call him in ballet too, too,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: like wear leotard, can wear my leotard like sweeter. Yeah,
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: let's do the whole get up. I'll put you in
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: a ballet bun. So I'm doing the ballet bun. Brushing
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: her out takes me like three or four tries to
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: get the ponytail on the right spotom twisting around. That
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: failed a couple of times. I'm like, good, you know,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: I finally just get it good, failing over and over.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: You're up there, sweating a little bit, trying to do
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: your daughter's hair.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and I get that sorted out. We go downstairs
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: and I turn on the ballet this twenty minute ballet class.
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: I kind of moved the living room towards she has space.
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: She locks in and knocks it out, focus the whole time,
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: doing everything the person on TV's doing. So she ripped
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: an entire ballet class on her own. I was so
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: fired up in gas that we figured that out. Turn
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: the dad lost into a dad win, parlay it into
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: a zoo Visit gets Scottie up and going. She's eating,
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: having a good time watching Rudu ballet.
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: And I'm telling you, dude, I know for a fact
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: that really loved it, because she told me about it
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: at the zoo.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: Oh doing ballet on TV.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Told me about it at the zoo. She asked what
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: Scarlett's leggings were and I said, those are leggings. I said,
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: ballerinas did they wear leggings? And she was like, they
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: used to, but I wear socks. I don't wear leggings.
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: I was like, that's right. The only reason I knew
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: that that was called the leotard is because I blanked
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: at the zoo of what that was called. And I said, wait,
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: what's the pink thing called? And she kind of looked
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: at me, and I was like, I really have forgot,
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: like what was that pink thing that the ballerinas wear?
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: And she goes my leotard? I go, that's that? Is it?
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: Good job row? I was like, that is a hard
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: word to say. Slash. She nailed it. Yeah, she was
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: fired up. She was pumped. We did.
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: She was pumped, dude. So she was bragging a little
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: bit about it.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: That's a good one. That's awesome to hear. Just a
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: warning to you.
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: Both were getting close to an hour, getting close to
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: an hour. So if we want to hit some hobby,
- 1:35:51Speaker 4: Wifey shout out and then gets a voicemail.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: Yeah, good, oh man, We're just dude, we're just going.
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: We're getting close to.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: Does not mind we we apologize. I hope you've enjoyed
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: the stories.
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: I have a nice little dad hack. You guys, there's
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: some dad hacks. There's some different stuff. Yeah, to rip
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: through some of the comments if you want, and then
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: we can get over. We have two voicemails today.
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: Let's go. So I have a nice little dad hack
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: because I have a dad hack of my own that
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: I'll parlay after this. It's a very short one, but
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: are uh. Our dad hack comes from Will Shear. Will
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: says Hey, Will and sherm and boys in the back.
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: This is Will Shear from Plumas Lake, California. For the
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: Dads is my new favorite podcast. My wife is amazing
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: and just gave birth to a toddler weighing ten pounds
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: five ounces. Yo, so much jugarnut, God bless me. Yeah
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: for anybody like bounce five ounces, yo, so much for
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: the all newborn clothes in the closet.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: Yeah truly. His name is William Sheer the fourth. Yeah,
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: he will go by Liam. Got a dad hack for Pt. Six.
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: When changing a newborn's diaper, their hands try to help.
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: That's very true. When the onesie is un zipped from
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: the bottom, pull it up to get it out of
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: the way, and tuck their arms in the onesie to
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: keep them secure. I've never heard this one. That's really
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: that's a great hack. The pod encourages me to stay
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: locked in and present.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: Keep it up. Boys, I got I gotta, I got
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: a dead hack, right clear. You throw your throat by
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: the way. William Sheer the fourth, gonna go by Liam
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: if if if I get a boy someday my wife
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: and I are fortunate enough to have a boy one day,
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: William the fourth, because I'm William Earl the third, and
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: in my brain he's gonna go by Liam, So shout
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: out will William. William Sheer is William Shear, williams shere
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: the fourth shout out Williams. Yeah, Liam, dude, just being
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: a torpedo coming.
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: Liam's a great name. I think that's cool.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: Dad hack right here from Jordan on Spotify, Chase on,
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: Jordan Chase on, come on, dad. Tip if you can't
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: remember the month, the months sixteen, eighteen, twenty three, just
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: say when their birthday was. Example, they turned two in August,
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: or they will be three in February. Nice hack. That's
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: why I get stuck doing the math. That's why it's
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Jordan Chase on, not Jordan Chase off.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Yeah, right there, he's locked in.
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: I got Ryan McCollen on X just trying to get
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: that fast pass to the shockwave.
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: So this was sent into our for the dads. This
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: was DM to us, I believe.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: This was the message that he wrote on a little
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: breakfast sandwich that he got for the WiFi and a
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: little vanilla latte right there, and he wrote to the world,
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: you are just a mom, but remember to Brooks, you
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: are his whole world. Happy Friday and.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: I love you. Hey.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: That is phenomenal, yo, Ryan, Ryan, shut up. I bet
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: that shock wave hit.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I bet that. I got to get down in
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: the bag immediately.
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And I dude, I have a little dad hack
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: very quickly. It's called a hook on high chair. You
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: can get them on Amazon for like starting at thirty bucks.
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: And it's a high chair that is portable that you
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: can take to any restaurant and it slips onto the
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: table and you can tighten it and it will hook
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: onto any table. Dude, it's the best. I'm just I'm
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: telling you guys. Hook on high chair look into it.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: There's some very affordable options on Amazon, and it just
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: it gives the waiters and servers so much more room
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: at restaurants.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: Dude.
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: You can have it in the booth with you sick.
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Great dad hack, I got one here from time tell
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: me Bennett on Spotify, Dad act, create a playlist for
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: baby with your favorite slow songs. I included our first dance,
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: what We Walked down the Aisle to, and other special
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: songs for me and wifey. Play for baby when you're
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: rocking them in the early days and they will associate
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: those songs with peace and calm. Now at eight months,
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: it has become our bedtime playlist, a car meltdown playlist.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Can't wait for baby girl to watch our wedding video
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: down the road and recognize these songs.
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: MM.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: That that is heartwarming right there. That's wholesome. That's a
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: wholesome dad hack. We want to get to Collins voicemails if.

- 1:40:49Speaker 1: He had a stroke in August, which has taken his
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: mobility and his speech for now, and he still shows
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: up for the kids. He was dancing in a harrisalon
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: today with our three year old. He just lights up
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: when our kids entered the room. He still tries to catch,
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: he still tries to play catch. He still wants to
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: tell them good night. His first real word after a
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: stroke was our son's nickname. He's just so determined to
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: let our sens know how much he still loves them,

- 1:50:37Speaker 5: Hey boys. Twenty six year old female here who watched
- 1:50:41Speaker 5: the pod big fan listening to the episode where Taylor
- 1:50:46Speaker 5: announced it says new baby on the way. Congrats Taylor.
- 1:50:50Speaker 5: Congrest and one forty seven forty eight. You read your
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: lesson of the week about how you never know when
- 1:50:58Speaker 5: your kid agreeed to you about the door for the
- 1:51:00Speaker 5: last time. I just want to say, even as a
- 1:51:03Speaker 5: twenty six year old, I don't live with my parents anymore.
- 1:51:06Speaker 5: I live states away from them, but every time that
- 1:51:10Speaker 5: i'm home, once my dad comes to the door, I
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: still go up and greet him. So it's still in
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: your future. It doesn't go away if you raised right.
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: So yeah, I love my dad. I always will have
- 1:51:23Speaker 5: a great day.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: Sweet sweet Victory. Dude, that felt so good. I'm glad
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: you made us listen to that. Yeah, I am too.
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: That felt so good to hear, dude. She remained anonymous,
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: so to anonymous, his dad shout out, shut out. You're
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: a good one, dude.
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: Yeah that's again. Shut out moms again, shout out moms again.
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: I know we sit here and act the full and
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: act obnoxious, but moms are great. We know who the
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: real ones are. We we will say we know who
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: the real ones are at all times where we're just joking.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: We love the bus balls and have fun. We do
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: we're joking.
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: Courtney Strong wrote an email Tourney Strong will and sure
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: advice needed. I'm a twenty nine year old single woman
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: looking to find my Ptsicico. Your show gets me in
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: the feels on every sde hearing the love and grace
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: you have for your wife and kids and all the
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: ptsiccos that share their time in the trenches or their
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: crack of cold ones. I get to live my dream
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: vicariously through all of you killer PT sixers. I was
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: blessed with meeting a superman of a single dad and
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: imagine being his daughter's step MT six in the future.
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: It didn't work out, and that took all the wind
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: out of my sales for that new chapter I desired.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: As a youngest child of four by over a decade
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: and eight nieces and nephews, there's an unspoken pressure to
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: find my ptsicico before the unthinkable happens to either of
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: my parents. I'm a hardworking, self sufficient, loyal, financially stable,
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: and very laid back, go with the flow type of girly.
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: I was blessed to purchase my own home last August.
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: My nine year old golden doodle dog is the center
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: of my world, as he is all I got for
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: the day today. In parentheses, I have a wonderfully close
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: and supportive family, and as he gets older, the fear
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: sets in. I'll be alone. Advice needed? Where should I
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: be looking to find a good quality man that will
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: be a great ptsiico. I hesitate to go on dating
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: apps and don't go out to bars as often. All
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: my friends are either in long term ships or getting married.
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: This is a Midwestern Michigan girly that needs help from
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: the real ones. Blessed for you, boys, Courtney.
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: Strong Courty sounds like a catch. He sounds like a catch, Dude,
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: We do we need to have our own dating app.
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: There's gotta be an st sixer out there, A little
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: curious wait.
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: She has her own house, she's got a cute dog,
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: she's financially stable, and she's like, go with some.
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: Send your submissions to our email and we'll maybe ford
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: them along. Maybe we'll forward it to Courtney who knows.
- 1:54:24Speaker 4: Send your picture and what you do PT six for
- 1:54:27Speaker 4: a living, and like why you could be her pt
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: Siko or whatever we'll make love.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Here or if you're an ST sixer that wants to
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: be a future PT sixer. You know, Yeah, what advice
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: would you give? I feel like it's hard, obviously, what's up?
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: You got advice from our Semen Team sixer advice from
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: Chef our Semen.
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: Team Courtney Codney Courtney. I'm very serious when I say
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: that this. Go find the guy that if you're from
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: Michigan when the Mazon Blue are on, he's screaming at TV.
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: Now that that sounds crazy off the bat, but let
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: me tell you there's no one more loyal than a
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: man who screams at his TV at the TV during
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: a game while his favorite college football team is playing.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: I will stand by that to the day I die.
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: Yeah, you get a guy who is like, I don't
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: care what, No, it doesn't matter if we losing is
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: not an option. That's a guy that's going to stick
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: with you through thick and thin, especially if he comes
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: from I would like to I'm wearing a Nebraska shirt
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: by any corn Huskers.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: Those are loyal people.
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you know any Big ten team, a lot of
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: SEC squads out there that those are the winners right there.
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: And then you just got to put up with the
- 1:55:39Speaker 3: fact they scream at the TV.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: But that's okay. So a fan of college football, a
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: sicko fan of college football, or good NFL franchise or
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: good NFL the team that they love. Maybe Courtney's not
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: a sports girl.
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: I would say this to Courtney as far as where
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: I found the most success dating slash, how I met
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: Jill because I was set up on a blind date
- 1:56:06Speaker 2: is the go.
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: You were set up on a blind date too, Derek,
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: you were too.
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: I would say friends that you are very close with,
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: that know you know what you love, and love you
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: and want to see the best for you, want to
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: see you succeed. Finding people that are like minded to
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: that friend group that you really resonate with, and being
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: set up I think is a great way to meet
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: somebody that would be awesome.
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's great advice.
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: I Yeah, I just I couldn't. I'm not I'm not
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: a gur real, I not a love gurrial.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: I didn't have a lot of game either. Now I
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: can only imagine what the dating world's like now because
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: a lot of it is, unfortunately on the apps and
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: everything else. I would say, dip your toe in it.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: You probably don't want to pour a lot of energy
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: into it because you seem like a real one. You
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: don't want to mess around with the nonsense or the bullshit.
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: But maybe there's a gentleman or a pt of potential
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: pet siko on the apps and they you guys just
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: both you haven't found each other yet. Yeah, nothing against
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: the apps, nothing against the apps.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: At all, but you know, obviously it's like dudes ain't shit.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: So a lot of times you're on there, guys are
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: trying to get car washed, have a little bit of fun,
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: surface law, you know, keep it service level, maybe go
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: on a date. In that date, they want something to
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: happen that night or that action. Like, you know who
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: you are, you know what you're worth, and so if
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: you're interested in getting to the dating scene, it's just
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: I feel for when she's like, I don't I don't
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: hit the bars at offen, it probably seems like a
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: hassle doing that. I get it. But if that's what
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: you're Opolini calling me, I love that so much. Bo
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: you gotta good lord that actually I kind of mind
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: you to do. Yeah, but if a priority in your
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: life is finding a man, I would say you approach
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: you like anything else, like no, you know, no stone
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: left unturned, Like trying to figure out what the vibes are.
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: You're gonna I hate some of them, but it's worth trying. Yeah,
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: but oh, Courtney finds somebody. She seems like a she
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: seems like a good one, somebody who who's bought their
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: own house, has their own shit together, laid bag vibes.
- 1:58:12Speaker 4: Bro, she sounds like a chiller. And yeah, twenty nine
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: is nothing. I found mine at thirty one. Loads of
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: time left twenty nine. You got loads of time.
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: I got married at thirty, Courtney, I got married at
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: thirty Yeah.
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Rue is what three?
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: How old am I?
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: You're four years on thirty six?
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: You're thirty six?
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: Rue is three?
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: So yeah, I got married at thirty two. Yeah, you
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: got married a thirty two.
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: You have plenty of time.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: You got plenty of time. I know those fears are real,
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: but you want the fears to be so real that
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: you're forcing the issue and you settle.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: Yeah, So continue to pour into things that give you energy, yeah,
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: and the things that don't do away with them. I'm
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: telling you, at some point you're gonna find You're gonna
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: find your person.
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: And if you find your person through things that bring
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: you life and bring you to and happiness, I would
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: say nine times out ten, that's going to be a winner. Yeah,
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: Rather that's Hobby's friends, family, whatever.
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: It was a good question. That's kind of a tough question.
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: That's a tough question, especially without knowing Courtney and knowing
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: you know more context and everything else, and respect to
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: her for trustedness. Yeah with that, Yeah, I have an
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: email here from Hector Santa Maria. What's up, boys, Hector
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: here from Washington State. I'm here watching the Valentine's episode
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: with my five day old on my chest. Good, good
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: wifey next to me, getting the very much needed sleep.
- 1:59:30Speaker 1: I had called in earlier this week saying I was
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: in the hospital with WIFEI while she was getting induced.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: Let's just say this week has been a very traumatic one,
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: from sitting with my wife in the labor room to
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: getting rushed out due to needing an asap emergency c
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: section and my wife going into full anesthesia. Our babies,
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: our baby girl's heart was dropping low. Not knowing how
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: my girls were doing, all I could do was cry.
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: I hated to help us, feeling or the unknown of
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: what could happen. Thankfully, our little our little fighter pulled through.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: Hearing or watching you guys every weekends made me feel
- 2:00:02Speaker 1: ready to be in the trenches and raise our first girl.
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: Keep up the hard work boys. You guys are doing
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: the lord's workout here. Rue, Scottie and Scarlet will be
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: so proud of their dads. Ps.
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: Can Andy record himself reading the book so we can
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: play them for bedtime? Shut shout out, Andy.
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: There's right there. We have tier jerkers. I do have
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: a sad alert one. So while I'm just feeling the vibe, like,
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: let's just okay, let's just dive in by the way, hector,
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: shout out you man, there's nothing you know, your little
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: five dale laying on your chest. Will mom gets you
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: much much needed sleep. It's been a grind with the
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: kiddos at times, doing the solo dad parenting with Mom
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: out of town. But it's a grind that's worth it.
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: It's like the diaper, the diaper pel, you know, fills
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: up and you're sitting there pushing on it.
- 2:00:51Speaker 2: And you're like, all right, I gotta take out the
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: goddamn trash. I gotta take out this diaper pel. It's
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: smelling up the place. You got to do all these things.
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: Rue has been we do sleepovers with I'm out of town,
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: or if I'm out of town and real do sleep
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: over with mom, or she sleeps on our bed. So
- 2:01:04Speaker 1: she's been ripping with me for like four nights in
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: a row, and it's some of the best times of
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: my life, dude, of my life. Like last night, I
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: crawled in bed around ten thirty and Rue just rolls
- 2:01:14Speaker 1: over and like lays on my shoulder and I'm just smiling,
- 2:01:17Speaker 1: like kissing her on top of the head, and she's
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: be like, man, this is it's gonna fly by. It
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: is flying by, and it is incredible because some nights
- 2:01:25Speaker 1: that I forgot to tell this. This is actually a
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: fun little update because a while back I talked about
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: how I hadn't read the book that my mom filled
- 2:01:33Speaker 1: out and wrote in for me. Cracked it open. Over
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: these last few nights I did because Rue was missing
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: Mom so much that I was trying to find ways
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: to calm her down. And I'm like, I know, sweetheart dead,
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: I miss his mama too, And I'm like, you know,
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: I missed my mama, and kind of telling her about
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: my mom and talking about what happened on my mom
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: passed away. How'd she show your mom died? I was like, yeah,
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: my mama died, and she's like, cow out, I'm taking
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: her through it. And I was like, Mama, my mom
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: wrote me a little book over here, and and I'm
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: like I miss hey. Look, I miss my mama too.
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: I missed my mama every day. Your mom is going
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: to be back in a couple of days, and that
- 2:02:18Speaker 1: is amazing that mom was gonna get to come home.
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: And you're gonna be so happy when my mama comes
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: home because I miss your mama. I missed mama too,
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: And I empathize with you because I missed my mama.
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: And there are things like you have your sweatshirt right here,
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: you have things to remember by because again she's going
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: to come back, and I have a couple of things
- 2:02:34Speaker 1: that I get to remember with my mama too. You know,
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: I'm showing her a couple of photos, the wedding photos,
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: and telling her how excited she was to meet you,
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: and we're connecting over all this stuff just because of
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: missing mom. And so I pull out the book because
- 2:02:46Speaker 1: we do bedtime stories and it felt like just the
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: stars aligned to pull out the old book, and I'm like,
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: you know what, like I'm going to read this book
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: and she's just filling out a bunch of things where
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: it's like memories and asking questions and my mom growing
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: up up and when I was first born and what
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: she got. I hate crying what she envisioned for me
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: and all these things. And we're just sitting here going
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: through and I'm just reading to her and she'll see
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: tears coming out of my eyes dead while you said,
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I missed one.
- 2:03:17Speaker 3: You know what.
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: I miss mom too. So we can lay here to together,
- 2:03:24Speaker 1: we can cry together, like it's you know, Mama's gonna
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: come back.
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: It's gonna be awesome. Mama loves you so much and
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: it makes dad. I feel good to talk about my
- 2:03:32Speaker 2: mom to you, yeah, because I'm sadly it's like you'll
- 2:03:35Speaker 2: never get to meet her. But so your boy read
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: your boy read the book and Honestly, when I got done,
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: the next night, she wanted to read that book.
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: She's sitting on the bed. I have a photo She's
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: on the bed flipping to the book. I take a
- 2:03:49Speaker 1: picture and send it to Charrow because I'm telling her.
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, I read I read the stuff my
- 2:03:55Speaker 1: mom filled out and wrote for me, and it's been
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: all it. It felt like that was like the perfect
- 2:04:03Speaker 1: moment to bring it out and do it because she
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: was just she was struggling with mom out of town
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: because you do FaceTime and Mom's at dinner and it's just,
- 2:04:11Speaker 1: you know, it's just brutal. It's just brutal how much
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: she likes it's sad and miss his mom. And then
- 2:04:17Speaker 1: these last few nights, I've just been We've read different
- 2:04:19Speaker 1: parts of the book. I'll be like, oh, well, here's
- 2:04:21Speaker 1: a question that was asked to mom. Here's what Here's
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: what she said, you bet are those pictures of the
- 2:04:25Speaker 1: of those your brothers, are those your family? And it's
- 2:04:27Speaker 1: you know, it's just drawings and illustrations of other people
- 2:04:30Speaker 1: in the book. And uh, but yeah, dude, each night
- 2:04:33Speaker 1: I've gotten a like crack up in that book and
- 2:04:35Speaker 1: read just a different different portion.
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: Well, I've read through it all.
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: It's not like the longest thing in the world. But uh,
- 2:04:41Speaker 1: it's been a joy, Like it's been fun and we
- 2:04:44Speaker 1: get to connect over it just because of just the
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: fact of like missing mom. So I'm trying to tell her.
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: I'm just like, sweetheart, and you know, I'm thinking, hey,
- 2:04:50Speaker 1: I miss my mom too. That and miss his mama too,
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: your mama. Where's your mama? Beck?
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: Was it?
- 2:04:57Speaker 2: Is it the lady that grandpa's with. I'm like, no, oh,
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: that was that's not mama. You didn't get to meet mama.
- 2:05:03Speaker 1: And we just get to go through. I'm like, that's
- 2:05:05Speaker 1: your grandma. You know the pictures we see. I'm like,
- 2:05:07Speaker 1: that's grandma she wrote in this book. That's her handwriting.
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: But so an update, I did read the book. I
- 2:05:16Speaker 1: love you very much and I'm very proud of you.
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: I'm very happy for you. Thank you, brother.
- 2:05:23Speaker 2: That makes me very happy.
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it was good man. It's when when I got
- 2:05:28Speaker 1: done and I'm like, you know, sitting there laying through
- 2:05:30Speaker 1: and everything else, I was like, I was like, damn,
- 2:05:33Speaker 1: it felt like this was the moment, like it all
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: this was, this was how I was supposed to go down.
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: So I tell myself anyway, but uh moment, Yeah, so
- 2:05:43Speaker 2: let's dive into this satellite.
- 2:05:45Speaker 1: Lord, dude, I know Grant Overholser on Facebook sad Alert
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: love the content. Here's my story. I'll keep it brief.
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: My daughters and I lost their mom in twenty seventeen.
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: I was stationed in New York and they lived in Arkansas.
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: The military kept us apart. I moved to Arkansas the
- 2:06:20Speaker 1: same day she passed. Guys, what a shock. I took
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: lessons on how to do hair, how to cook, and
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: how to raise girls. And I'm still learning. When I
- 2:06:37Speaker 1: moved to Arkansas, the crew I flew with in the
- 2:06:40Speaker 1: Marines in New York all died in a plane crash
- 2:06:43Speaker 1: five months later. Not only did I have to navigate
- 2:06:53Speaker 1: being a single dad, but I had to figure out
- 2:06:58Speaker 1: figure my shit out mentally. If their mom hadn't passed away,
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: I would have been damn man. He would have been
- 2:07:14Speaker 1: on that plane.
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: He would have been on the plane. Yankee seventy two
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: was the crew. Here I am nine years later. My
- 2:07:22Speaker 2: daughters are crushing it. I'm crushing it, and my wife
- 2:07:26Speaker 2: adopted our daughters.
- 2:07:30Speaker 1: And we have a son. Now. Thanks for being great dudes,
- 2:07:34Speaker 1: and thanks for being a great outlet to escape. Grand
- 2:07:41Speaker 1: hats off to you, brother, I you can't imagine going
- 2:07:48Speaker 1: through something like that.
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: Thank you for considering us as great dudes. Yeah, because
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: to hear that somebody that's been through all that, it's
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: a pleasure to have you listen to our show and
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: five joy of it.
- 2:08:00Speaker 1: It's a pleasure, man.
- 2:08:04Speaker 2: And it's like that now I sit here, I'm like,
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: we talk about put a boat on it and shock Wave.
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: We obviously talk about all you know, great stuff that
- 2:08:13Speaker 2: we love and the passionate about Grant, bro, dude, we
- 2:08:21Speaker 2: love you.
- 2:08:22Speaker 3: That is.
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: It's just another perspective. It's just another story that reminds
- 2:08:27Speaker 1: you that whatever you're going through, there are things out
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: there that people have went through that just that just
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: shock you and then make you think, dude, how lucky
- 2:08:36Speaker 1: aren't we? Yeah, and even Grant, I'm sure there's other
- 2:08:40Speaker 1: perspectives that he finds. He's like, man, it's still how lucky?
- 2:08:42Speaker 1: Am I? You know that sucks? That's brutal, but no one.
- 2:08:47Speaker 1: Nine years later, Yeah, he found a wife who adopted
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: her to his girls who he grinded to help raise.
- 2:08:55Speaker 1: And I'm sure he was super protective along the way,
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: like letting anybody else come into that world, do you
- 2:09:00Speaker 1: know what I mean? Yeah, Like you know how hard
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: that would be, just thinking if I was in that situation,
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: how like guarded you'd be for anybody to kind of
- 2:09:08Speaker 1: come into your house or help raise your girls with you,
- 2:09:10Speaker 1: or have other opinions or things that kind of might
- 2:09:14Speaker 1: hit insecurities of yours or triggers or things where you're like, no,
- 2:09:16Speaker 1: I need to protect my daughters with anybody that I
- 2:09:20Speaker 1: bring in my house. Yeah, and to find somebody to
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: like have a family with to feel like, hey, yes
- 2:09:25Speaker 1: I would, I would. It would be an honor for
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: you to adopt my daughters and then you know, have
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: a have a son. That's hard man finding your way
- 2:09:37Speaker 1: with all that going down. He's imagine your wife passing
- 2:09:42Speaker 1: away and you're you're you're off in the military.
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: But that added guilty of like the only reason that
- 2:09:48Speaker 2: he's still here and kicking in his mind is his
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: wife's passing as well. Yeah, added layer is like that
- 2:09:55Speaker 2: has a lot to work through mentally. Yeah, that's crazy
- 2:09:59Speaker 2: on the.
- 2:09:59Speaker 1: Mental side of with your unit being with your team,
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: a team that it's all sacrifice. It's all I'm responsible
- 2:10:04Speaker 1: for the group, not myself, and the guilt that you
- 2:10:07Speaker 1: probably carry, like I should I should be I should
- 2:10:10Speaker 1: have been on that plane. And also like no, God
- 2:10:13Speaker 1: was telling me something because I shouldn't have been because
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: if I was on that plane and both of them
- 2:10:17Speaker 1: were lost, Yeah, like I don't know what happened. I
- 2:10:25Speaker 1: don't know what happened with his wife, but if he
- 2:10:26Speaker 1: goes down on that plane, because Mom's still alive, and
- 2:10:28Speaker 1: then whatever happened to Monta happened after that, and then
- 2:10:32Speaker 1: baby boys not even in the picture. Yeah, man, Golly.
- 2:10:39Speaker 2: Grant Overholzer on Facebook.
- 2:10:42Speaker 4: I crept a very heavy Happy birthday Grant. It was
- 2:10:44Speaker 4: February second, So happy birthday to Grant.
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: Happy birthday Grant and Green.
- 2:10:49Speaker 2: If you've listened to this episode, you get two funk coupons.
- 2:10:57Speaker 1: Got to break up this sadness? Do you want me
- 2:11:01Speaker 1: to put a bow on it with a little Dan Gable? Yeah,
- 2:11:05Speaker 1: please give us a day in Gable quote the BT
- 2:11:07Speaker 1: six So that we've been that, we've been laughing, We've
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: been trying to chime in with opinions, trying to find
- 2:11:13Speaker 1: the next BET sixer for Courtney like feeling all things, crying,
- 2:11:16Speaker 1: being sad, like what are we talking about? Moments?
- 2:11:20Speaker 2: We need a day in Gable quote cerumission dude. In
- 2:11:25Speaker 2: the book it was my mom wrote it was something
- 2:11:30Speaker 2: about when I was born. The first thing my dad said,
- 2:11:35Speaker 2: and it was he was asked to cut the cord
- 2:11:38Speaker 2: and or asked, Hey, do you want to cut the cord?
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: And his first his response that my mom has written
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: in there is do you have somebody more qualified?
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:11:52Speaker 2: I believe so.
- 2:11:56Speaker 1: Oh Billy boy, Billy, what a legend. Oh you got
- 2:12:01Speaker 1: somebody more qualify? That's the Duke of Monte right there.
- 2:12:04Speaker 1: I can see him laugh after that joke. I'll cut
- 2:12:06Speaker 1: the gord, go right here, give me that shit? What
- 2:12:10Speaker 1: do I do.
- 2:12:12Speaker 6: This?
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: This comes from a young Dan Gable back in the
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: nineteen seventies. This comes from a very rare source of
- 2:12:20Speaker 2: material of him talking to a wrestling camp of kiddos
- 2:12:23Speaker 2: in the seventies. And I quote everything my high school
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: coach told me was exactly right back then. When I
- 2:12:33Speaker 2: listened to him and he told me you do this,
- 2:12:36Speaker 2: you do that, you'll be a better person, and all
- 2:12:40Speaker 2: this and all that, I just thought it was a
- 2:12:42Speaker 2: bunch of garbage. But everything he said was right. If
- 2:12:46Speaker 2: I would have done what he said, I'd be a
- 2:12:48Speaker 2: lot better off today than I am right now. You
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: don't really learn from the clinics and wrestling by yourself.
- 2:12:55Speaker 2: You learn from watching. I don't care how good you
- 2:12:58Speaker 2: good the guy is or how bad the guy is
- 2:13:01Speaker 2: in wrestling. I can learn things from watching you guys wrestle.
- 2:13:05Speaker 2: Almost every one of you probably have has a certain
- 2:13:10Speaker 2: thing you do differently, or a favorite hold. If I
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: can pick that up, that's just going to add a
- 2:13:16Speaker 2: little bit more to my wrestling knowledge, and it's going
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: to help.
- 2:13:20Speaker 1: Me a lot. Day. Gable was he was a little jit,
- 2:13:27Speaker 1: and he was like, this is garbage. This guy doesn't
- 2:13:29Speaker 1: know what he's saying.
- 2:13:30Speaker 2: He don't know what he's saying. But I should have
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: listened to him. Every single thing he said was right.
- 2:13:35Speaker 1: That's cud, That's that's that's life right there. That's life.
- 2:13:38Speaker 2: That's us right now thinking about everything our parents told us. Yeah,
- 2:13:41Speaker 2: that's going to be our kids thinking about what we
- 2:13:43Speaker 2: tell them one day, what our grandparents were telling us. Yeah, dude,
- 2:13:50Speaker 2: one of my I just want to say this, one
- 2:13:51Speaker 2: of my favorite sades. I try not to do that
- 2:13:54Speaker 2: at the end of sets. But this was truly one
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: of my favorite sets.
- 2:13:57Speaker 1: This is a great so this was. Yeah, it's fantastic.
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: If you got you got something out of it. If
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: you have a win, a loss, something you want to share.
- 2:14:06Speaker 1: Do not hesitate to comment. Yeah, do not hesitate to
- 2:14:08Speaker 1: call in even if you want.
- 2:14:09Speaker 2: To just say, I fucking forgot to take out the trash.
- 2:14:12Speaker 1: See you, Well, don't forget you said the comment to
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: pt FIT.
- 2:14:18Speaker 2: That's why we've covered a lot of this episode.
- 2:14:22Speaker 1: We gotta get pt FIT. God save these people. Are
- 2:14:28Speaker 1: this spot? Hey after four months?

- 2:14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, the transformational photos. I'm a PT fiddo just.
