- 0:00Speaker 1: This podcast is recorded on gadigal Land Always was, always
- 0:03Speaker 1: will be Aboriginal Land. Harry Jigs, I'm out and and
- 0:13Speaker 1: this is two broad chicks to show that shares life
- 0:15Speaker 1: lessons to be rich in the rich.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It's actually an assault to the sense is that noise?
- 0:25Speaker 2: I know, so that we need to make a public apology.
- 0:27Speaker 3: When we open like that.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It'll just feel so good. It feels so good. I
- 0:32Speaker 2: encourage everyone to do it.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Actually, Yeah, and we are in for a little Sydney
- 0:37Speaker 1: yap this and yap this and yap let's get yappin'.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Yeah, my yap's good and babies go brazy.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So basically we put up a little story box on
- 0:51Speaker 1: i G as we do every week as a let's
- 0:53Speaker 1: catch up, and we just got so many questions, questions
- 0:58Speaker 1: that people wanted to know about us.
- 1:00Speaker 5: I know, chicks, I am so sweet of you.
- 1:03Speaker 4: And then just some life advice.
- 1:05Speaker 2: So we thought we were kind of due for an
- 1:07Speaker 2: advice with the chicks and yeah, that's what we're here for.
- 1:10Speaker 6: Yep.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Some of these are jew seed, Yeah they are.
- 1:14Speaker 5: There was some rogue questions rolling in.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Okay, I appreciate it, I like it, I respect it.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I'm like tea.
- 1:22Speaker 2: But before we get into the episode, we got to
- 1:26Speaker 2: go through our.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Obsession cut the music obsession.
- 1:35Speaker 1: My obsession is the chick that wrote in last week
- 1:38Speaker 1: that said my favorite part of the episode was two
- 1:40Speaker 1: minutes in Alice going fuck me.
- 1:42Speaker 3: With the background noise of her.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Eyes last in the background, and nothing has ever been
- 1:48Speaker 2: so real. So I would also like to open this
- 1:50Speaker 2: episode with a fuck.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Me and a.
- 1:54Speaker 6: That one's just for you cheer.
- 1:55Speaker 3: All right, what are you obsessed with? Okay?
- 1:58Speaker 1: This week my obsession a bit of a bougie purchase,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but I think it's worth the bang.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Bang for Bark gives the bank for Bark. And we
- 2:08Speaker 5: got some.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Nifty gifties from crop Shop Boutique, which was very sweet
- 2:14Speaker 1: of them to send some stuff to us, and we
- 2:18Speaker 1: got to select a few picks and I picked these
- 2:21Speaker 1: petite boot leg.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Leggings. And I really struggle.
- 2:27Speaker 1: With any sort of flare or boot cut, like a
- 2:29Speaker 1: flared legging, yeah, because I'm only five to one, I'm
- 2:34Speaker 1: very short, and so usually they end up dragging on
- 2:36Speaker 1: the ground. Typically I would get something like that altered,
- 2:39Speaker 1: but I don't know when it comes to active where
- 2:42Speaker 1: that's like lower on my priority list of what to
- 2:44Speaker 1: get altered, and then they always end up really trashed
- 2:46Speaker 1: after wearing them a couple of times.
- 2:49Speaker 5: And because these are a petit style.
- 2:52Speaker 1: They're made for short girlies, and they're so flattering, they're
- 2:56Speaker 1: so comfortable, really really high quality, so the materials is
- 3:00Speaker 1: actually quite thick. I feel very supported, but also yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 1: but not suffocated, not suffocating, and it's not it's not
- 3:09Speaker 1: necessarily for the look that the village.
- 3:12Speaker 5: It's just like I don't I don't want.
- 3:14Speaker 1: To active way, it's kind of hugging you.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, because then it looks like an anxiety weighted blanket.
- 3:20Speaker 4: It's like anxiety active wear.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Hold me tender.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I like that because then it also means
- 3:32Speaker 1: they don't roll down and stuff. And while these leggings
- 3:35Speaker 1: are a little bit more expensive, I think they're eighty
- 3:37Speaker 1: nine ninety nine, so.
- 3:38Speaker 6: It's definitely more expensive for a pair of leggings.
- 3:41Speaker 5: But the quality is amazing.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And because of that bootcut style, I've actually worn them
- 3:48Speaker 1: like to brunch and with the blazer, but then also
- 3:52Speaker 1: warn them to the gym and am like hot girl
- 3:54Speaker 1: is Yeah, so I feel like you can really dress
- 3:56Speaker 1: them up and dress them down so you will get
- 3:58Speaker 1: like your cost per wear out of them. And if
- 4:00Speaker 1: you are a short girly, I think that if you
- 4:03Speaker 1: can find something that actually fits you properly that you
- 4:06Speaker 1: won't have to get tailored, that's also worth spending the
- 4:08Speaker 1: money on.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like a lot of active where is
- 4:11Speaker 2: kind of coming to that price point totally. That's really
- 4:14Speaker 2: I would actually say under one hundred dollars for a
- 4:17Speaker 2: good quality pair of active wear is like a reasonable amount.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I think it's like crazy when you start getting into
- 4:23Speaker 2: like the two hundreds totally closer to that, like the
- 4:26Speaker 2: one eighties or one sixties for like a pair of leggings,
- 4:28Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh, what's your obsession? My obsession is
- 4:33Speaker 2: a little question that I saw when I was going
- 4:36Speaker 2: through my daily doom scroll, and so I wanted to
- 4:39Speaker 2: ask it on podcasts.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Because I've been obsessing over what I would pick.
- 4:44Speaker 2: So if you could change the price of something to
- 4:47Speaker 2: one dollar for twenty four hours, what would you change?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Okay, I would do a quick Google and find a
- 4:57Speaker 1: mansion that's on.
- 4:58Speaker 6: A rugged coast all cliff in New.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Zealand or perhaps Ireland.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Never been there, but I can imagine that would be
- 5:06Speaker 1: really beautiful too, and I would snap that up because
- 5:10Speaker 1: you can only choose one thing.
- 5:12Speaker 6: If I could furnish it and do all of that.
- 5:14Speaker 5: But imagine that if you could just buy, but you can't.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Even bloody get a parking ticket for that much these days,
- 5:22Speaker 1: let alone at fucking house.
- 5:24Speaker 5: That's what I would be doing.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, what about you see, that's what I thought originally, right,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and then after gold give me dead golden geese, given
- 5:36Speaker 1: dead golden geese?
- 5:37Speaker 5: Right anyway, magic beans? Can I say mine? I have
- 5:42Speaker 5: all these ideas.
- 5:44Speaker 1: She's an ideas man, So I thought that. At first,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I was like cliff house beach vibes, like live in a.
- 5:52Speaker 6: Forest castle inncestral Levante literally.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Right then I was like, then we're back to reality,
- 5:58Speaker 2: right back to the same paycheck around cho So I'm like, okay,
- 6:02Speaker 2: what's that like house tax I have to pay?
- 6:05Speaker 3: Well, probably it wouldn't be that, but.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Then like the upkeep or paying for I don't know
- 6:11Speaker 1: what kind of I don't know a house, so I
- 6:13Speaker 1: don't know what kind of feed. But then exactly the
- 6:16Speaker 1: cost of furnish it, Like am.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I just going to live in an empty house?
- 6:19Speaker 1: Right?
- 6:20Speaker 3: So I was like hmmm.
- 6:22Speaker 1: This also only sets me up for one thing.
- 6:25Speaker 3: So I was thinking.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Apple shares or Google shares.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I'm not picking one thing, and I realize I'm cheating,
- 6:32Speaker 1: But this is this I understand.
- 6:33Speaker 4: I would pick something that I'm like, Okay, I'm set,
- 6:36Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I would choose Henry Cavill for one dollar?
- 6:42Speaker 5: Why not? Only why not?
- 6:46Speaker 2: I'm so he's actually got like a family now, so
- 6:48Speaker 2: I probably should let go of it.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Appropriate, Well, don't wear leather pants in the Witch then okay. Anyway,
- 6:58Speaker 1: I'm going to rend it in button apples in season
- 7:01Speaker 1: one of Supernatural?
- 7:02Speaker 4: Where did one? That's what I think I think I
- 7:06Speaker 4: would or I would buy?
- 7:07Speaker 1: Like what company would we buy? Ooh?
- 7:13Speaker 3: Probably Google?
- 7:14Speaker 4: But I don't want to work.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, like I want to be like a ghost CEO
- 7:18Speaker 1: or like ghost founder.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Yeah totally. Like I'm like, y'all do it and just
- 7:24Speaker 3: send me my paycheck. Yeah totally.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But yeah, what's the one thing that you would change
- 7:30Speaker 2: to one dollar for twenty four hours?
- 7:32Speaker 1: Let us know in the comments? Yes, please, I want
- 7:34Speaker 1: to know.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Crazy anyway, that's my obsession.
- 7:37Speaker 5: I love it.
- 7:37Speaker 3: All right, let's get into a little captup.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Is it normal to feel scared in a new talking
- 7:49Speaker 2: stage relationship due to past relationship trauma.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I think if you have passed trauma and bad experiences
- 7:57Speaker 1: in a previous relationship, that seems pretty normal to me
- 8:00Speaker 1: that you would have insecurities or be scared when you're
- 8:03Speaker 1: in the talking stage with someone. However, I don't think
- 8:06Speaker 1: that necessarily could happen with everyone or every single time,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Like there might be some people that you talk to
- 8:13Speaker 1: that instantly make you feel secure and make you feel
- 8:17Speaker 1: good even when you're in the talking stages. I think
- 8:20Speaker 1: it really depends on what like the red flags are
- 8:23Speaker 1: that are flaring up, you know, some of those responses
- 8:26Speaker 1: from you.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's normal to have apprehension due to
- 8:31Speaker 2: like past experiences totally, Like if anything, that's just like
- 8:35Speaker 2: maybe being a little bit more like seasoned as you
- 8:38Speaker 2: grow older, being a yeah, yeah, Like as we get older,
- 8:41Speaker 2: you're not necessarily what's the word I'm looking for.
- 8:44Speaker 3: It's not gullible, but.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Like you're a little less naive.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yes, that's exactly the word that I'm looking for. Like
- 8:50Speaker 2: you kind of have a little bit more apprehension towards
- 8:54Speaker 2: things because maybe you've been burned before and you don't
- 8:57Speaker 2: necessarily like you know that people aren't always having the
- 9:02Speaker 2: best intentions totally, you know. And I think when you've had,
- 9:06Speaker 2: you know, a traumatic experience, which I am so sorry
- 9:09Speaker 2: that you have had that experience, it is very normal
- 9:13Speaker 2: and very easy to hold those with you when you're
- 9:17Speaker 2: kind of putting your toe back in the pond, right
- 9:20Speaker 2: or is that the.
- 9:21Speaker 6: Same, yeah, dipping your toes back in the water. I like,
- 9:24Speaker 6: my I like putting your toe in the pond.
- 9:26Speaker 1: It kind of sounds sexual as well, put your toe.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, when you're putting your toe back in
- 9:34Speaker 2: the pond, it's totally not.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Like really have the vision of your toe specifically, like
- 9:43Speaker 1: and I'm looking from the bottom of the pond and
- 9:45Speaker 1: I can take your toe just going.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Just one, just your big toe.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Oh my god, get wrecked, trying to.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Have like annest moment.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Okay. But what I think holds you back, and I definitely.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Did this as well when I was trying to jump
- 10:15Speaker 1: back into dating or like making friends after that being burned,
- 10:18Speaker 1: is that you're going to hold yourself back if you
- 10:21Speaker 1: do expect every situation to be like that, if you think,
- 10:25Speaker 1: like sometimes maybe you think you're being on the front
- 10:27Speaker 1: foot by maybe having walls up and you may not
- 10:30Speaker 1: even realize it, but being like, oh, I'm not going
- 10:32Speaker 1: to put myself out there because they're going to do this.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I'm not going to say how I feel or what
- 10:36Speaker 1: I want because it shows that I care, and that
- 10:41Speaker 1: like that ends up shooting yourself in the foot to use.
- 10:44Speaker 5: The correct term.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Wait, is that wrong?
- 10:49Speaker 6: I just love that we keep coming back to the
- 10:51Speaker 6: foot metaphors.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Do I have a fetish?
- 10:54Speaker 4: But that's what I mean. I think you like a setting.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yourself up for failure if you expect everyone to behave
- 11:02Speaker 2: like the shittest people you've ever met, because not everyone
- 11:06Speaker 2: is going to be like the worst people you've met
- 11:08Speaker 2: in your life. And I think that's also a very
- 11:10Speaker 2: very hopeful thing. Like speaking from experience of dating people
- 11:16Speaker 2: and they weren't necessarily the nicest people in the relationship
- 11:19Speaker 2: or just like good good partners or good dates or
- 11:23Speaker 2: anything like that, you definitely can get a little bit bitter,
- 11:28Speaker 2: like I can. Yeah, jaded is a good word for it,
- 11:30Speaker 2: maybe not bitter. But then when you kind of meet
- 11:32Speaker 2: someone and you things are going really well, you can
- 11:35Speaker 2: kind of self sabotage and be like.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Totally wait, what's going on? Like this isn't normal? Is
- 11:40Speaker 3: this person? Huh?
- 11:42Speaker 2: And then I think exactly what you're saying that when
- 11:44Speaker 2: you meet the right people and it feels secure and
- 11:46Speaker 2: it feels good, try.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Not to question it too much.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Try to just like lean into it and enjoy it
- 11:51Speaker 2: and be open. But it is normal to have that
- 11:54Speaker 2: apprehension to like answer your question, but try to like
- 11:57Speaker 2: release it a little.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Bit and your toe back in the pond.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Get that toe toe in that pond. Right. I'll send
- 12:06Speaker 1: you a Google map with some options, some ponds I'll
- 12:10Speaker 1: be there's some duckies.
- 12:11Speaker 4: You can bring some bread. I ain't allowed to feed
- 12:14Speaker 4: ducks anymore.
- 12:15Speaker 5: I know, I don't think it's good for them the bread.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Okay, this is a spicy question.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So Sasha said, do you ever feel like you could
- 12:24Speaker 1: end up like Sophia and Alex from Call Her Daddy?
- 12:29Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 12:29Speaker 2: Actually, this is this is the breaker. We actually didn't
- 12:34Speaker 2: really want to say it this year, but this will
- 12:38Speaker 2: be our final season of two Broke Chicks.
- 12:41Speaker 3: It's actually just going to be one.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Broken chick and I'm actually leaving the show.
- 12:49Speaker 1: We're good, We're good.
- 12:50Speaker 4: I think it's a valid question.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I think I think so too, And I think working,
- 12:56Speaker 2: like the relationship of working and being best friends is
- 12:59Speaker 2: definitely not a simple one. Yeah, but it's like we've
- 13:03Speaker 2: been best friends for seven years, right, Yeah, and we were, like,
- 13:08Speaker 2: how long.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Are we friends before we even started the podcast? Yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: probably like four and a half to five years. Alex
- 13:15Speaker 1: and I met at work and we were both journalists
- 13:19Speaker 1: at the same publication, and I'd already worked there for
- 13:21Speaker 1: two years and then al joined and we clicked pretty
- 13:24Speaker 1: much immediately and became really close. So I think that's
- 13:28Speaker 1: the thing, Like we've already been best friends for about
- 13:32Speaker 1: four and a half years or so before we started
- 13:34Speaker 1: Two Broke Chicks. We already were spending all of our
- 13:37Speaker 1: time together at work in the office, and then a
- 13:41Speaker 1: lot of our outside time together socializing. So our relationship
- 13:45Speaker 1: already started with that like level of intensity of like
- 13:48Speaker 1: being together so much. Whereas for other people who you know,
- 13:52Speaker 1: may have been just friends first and then they go
- 13:56Speaker 1: into a business partnership together, that could be quite a shock.
- 14:01Speaker 1: But I think we also have the same alignment, Like
- 14:04Speaker 1: we have the same work ethic. We like we've always
- 14:08Speaker 1: said that we're really lucky in the fact that we
- 14:13Speaker 1: found each other because we are so similar in the
- 14:18Speaker 1: ways that matter, Like we're definitely different in like ways
- 14:22Speaker 1: are also are good for the friendship, Like we are
- 14:25Speaker 1: so similar in the way that you know, we really love.
- 14:28Speaker 2: To succeed and we've got a really big drive and
- 14:32Speaker 2: we both have a really good work ethic that like, nope,
- 14:35Speaker 2: not one person's doing more than the other.
- 14:37Speaker 4: We love each other as much as the other.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Like there's no you know how there's friendships and it's
- 14:41Speaker 1: like a dynamic. You know, if I didn't text them,
- 14:43Speaker 1: I'd never hear from them, Like that just would never
- 14:46Speaker 1: happen that I think because we know and we had
- 14:52Speaker 1: the friendship before the podcast, it doesn't go like start
- 14:57Speaker 1: a podcast, become best friends.
- 14:58Speaker 3: It was like we're best friend and we started a podcast.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah, So it's like if.
- 15:04Speaker 1: The podcast ever came or if two Broke Chicks ever
- 15:07Speaker 1: came between that as a friendship, that's the thing that
- 15:11Speaker 1: would go. We would just be like, Okay, do you
- 15:13Speaker 1: know what, Like this isn't bringing us join filling our
- 15:16Speaker 1: cup and making us silly, goofy, funny girls that we
- 15:18Speaker 1: know where that we are.
- 15:20Speaker 3: We would just stop it.
- 15:26Speaker 2: How to communicate with friends that I'm broke when they're not.
- 15:32Speaker 2: We actually go into a whole chapter in this in
- 15:36Speaker 2: the book Funny Your People by Alex Rigan and Adam McMullan,
- 15:39Speaker 2: but we'll.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Give you the TLDR. So this is such a.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Tricky one because with friends, like you know, there is
- 15:47Speaker 1: often like income disparity between you, and that can make
- 15:50Speaker 1: it really hard when you know somebody wants to go
- 15:52Speaker 1: to bottomless brunch for their birthday and that isn't within
- 15:55Speaker 1: your budget. I think the best way to communicate it
- 15:58Speaker 1: is to be open and straight up and you can
- 16:02Speaker 1: just say, hey, this isn't within my budget because I'm
- 16:06Speaker 1: saving up for X or whatever reason why you can't
- 16:10Speaker 1: afford it.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Could we do this instead?
- 16:14Speaker 1: Or do you mind if I miss out on this one.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I think sometimes people want to avoid it because they
- 16:20Speaker 1: feel embarrassed or that it's awkward, and I totally understand that,
- 16:23Speaker 1: but it's nothing to be ashamed of by putting that
- 16:26Speaker 1: boundary there and respecting your own financial decisions and situation
- 16:32Speaker 1: and being responsible about that. And I think that a
- 16:35Speaker 1: good friend is going to understand and they'd prefer that
- 16:39Speaker 1: rather than you know, those friends that you have, and
- 16:42Speaker 1: you'll invite them to something and they don't want to
- 16:44Speaker 1: go to whatever it is for whatever reason, and they
- 16:46Speaker 1: just like put it off and put it off, or
- 16:48Speaker 1: they go, oh, I'll see see how I feel, or
- 16:52Speaker 1: or they bail last minute or whatever like.
- 16:56Speaker 5: That's usually the annoying thing.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Whereas if somebody is, you know, straight up and tells
- 17:02Speaker 1: you how it is, You're going to respect and understand
- 17:04Speaker 1: that more so than if you know they're trying to
- 17:07Speaker 1: bury it, because I think then the reason why they
- 17:10Speaker 1: don't want to go to this thing isn't necessarily clear.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I think in that situation.
- 17:15Speaker 2: On the other hand, if you have a friend that
- 17:19Speaker 2: can't afford something, don't offer to pay for them. I
- 17:24Speaker 2: think it's obviously a gesture that is coming from a
- 17:29Speaker 2: really really good place. But more often than not, and
- 17:33Speaker 2: there is like a ten percent to this that it
- 17:36Speaker 2: doesn't apply to. But in my experience and when I've
- 17:39Speaker 2: spoken to friends about this, from my perspective and their
- 17:41Speaker 2: perspective and just in general, it's more offensive.
- 17:45Speaker 4: It's it's more embarrassing.
- 17:46Speaker 2: When you have someone coming in saying I'll just I'll
- 17:50Speaker 2: buy it or i'll get it.
- 17:51Speaker 1: You can feel a bit condescending, And it doesn't mean
- 17:55Speaker 1: to be condescending, but I think what it actually happens
- 17:58Speaker 1: is you end up feeling a little bit worse about yourself,
- 18:02Speaker 1: Like you feel a little bit like fuck, like I
- 18:04Speaker 1: can't afford it, that my friend has to pay for me,
- 18:06Speaker 1: like exactly, and it's and it kind of makes you
- 18:09Speaker 1: feel a bit not insecure because there's nothing to feel
- 18:13Speaker 1: insecure about, but it can end up making you feel
- 18:16Speaker 1: a little bit small.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I think.
- 18:18Speaker 1: So it's just a good thing to keep in mind
- 18:19Speaker 1: that if someone say like I can't afford something, like yes,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I know, it feels nice to offer or you know,
- 18:26Speaker 1: be there, but sometimes that's also not.
- 18:28Speaker 3: The best way forward.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Maybe it is being like, oh, well, what would you
- 18:31Speaker 4: like to do?
- 18:32Speaker 1: We can do something together next week, or giving that
- 18:35Speaker 1: option rather than being like, no, come do this, yeah,
- 18:38Speaker 1: you know what, I think, being like conscious of that
- 18:40Speaker 1: as well when you're making plans, like I know for us,
- 18:44Speaker 1: when we've organized like a birthday dinner for either ourselves
- 18:48Speaker 1: or for a friend, we'll be like, we're thinking of
- 18:50Speaker 1: going here, here's the menu, what does everybody reckon? Have
- 18:54Speaker 1: a look, and then we can book it to give
- 18:56Speaker 1: people the opportunity to be like, oh that's a bit pricey,
- 19:00Speaker 1: or you know, if it is like a you know,
- 19:02Speaker 1: a set menu or a bottomless brunch situation where like
- 19:04Speaker 1: it's this much per person, what do we think and
- 19:07Speaker 1: put it out there rather than being like, I booked
- 19:09Speaker 1: this so that if anybody is like, actually, no, that's
- 19:12Speaker 1: out of my budget, you know, you're giving some flexibility
- 19:16Speaker 1: for people to voice that and hopefully feel less embarrassed
- 19:20Speaker 1: about it, because it's not embarrassing. If anything, it's so responsible.
- 19:23Speaker 1: We should be really proud of yourself. You like, stand
- 19:26Speaker 1: up for your financial boundaries, get them check literally, slay
- 19:31Speaker 1: slay so hard, okay, unrequired.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Love tips, Oh my god?
- 19:37Speaker 3: I really The answer who is quite simple?
- 19:40Speaker 5: Move on?
- 19:41Speaker 3: Dump him?
- 19:42Speaker 5: Yeah? Yeah, I think it depends on what the scenario is.
- 19:45Speaker 1: If you've put yourself out there and they've knocked you
- 19:49Speaker 1: back or haven't reciprocated, move on, there's no point. But
- 19:53Speaker 1: if you're unsure, if you are sort of just crushing
- 19:56Speaker 1: on someone and you're not sure if they are are
- 19:58Speaker 1: vibing you, like, you know, put yourself out of your
- 20:02Speaker 1: misery and just shoot your shot.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Yeah I think so.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And then once you get the response leave it there,
- 20:08Speaker 1: like there are so many other fish in the sea
- 20:10Speaker 1: and you're just wasting your.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Energy one percent.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Okay, what do I want for my thirtieth as a
- 20:18Speaker 1: present from family and friends? So as someone who recently turned.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Thirtyeth sound, oh my, what you put on their wish
- 20:28Speaker 2: list for when they turn thirty?
- 20:31Speaker 1: I think a trip like potentially with like some of
- 20:34Speaker 1: your friends and family, Like, could you do a weekend
- 20:36Speaker 1: away somewhere, or if you have somewhere that you really
- 20:40Speaker 1: want to go, could they like all put in like
- 20:43Speaker 1: some cash together to put towards your trip, or maybe
- 20:46Speaker 1: a nice evening, Yeah, even if that's a bit too spenny.
- 20:49Speaker 6: Exactly, Like an experience of some sort that like.
- 20:52Speaker 1: The memory of your thirtieth Yeah, that you can share
- 20:55Speaker 1: with some of those people I think would be so nice.
- 20:57Speaker 5: So yeah, whether it's a.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Nice away somewhere or yeah, a nice dinner or a
- 21:04Speaker 1: concert or something like that where you can have a
- 21:07Speaker 1: nice experience with those people.
- 21:08Speaker 5: I think, you know, the gift of a memory is.
- 21:11Speaker 1: The best gift of all I do, and I know
- 21:14Speaker 1: it's probably done and some people would disagree. I do
- 21:19Speaker 1: like something that is like that's my ex that my
- 21:25Speaker 1: family got me for my thirtieth and it's like that
- 21:27Speaker 1: thing that you have all the time. My favorite thing
- 21:30Speaker 1: for that is some kind of like personalized or like
- 21:33Speaker 1: one of a kind item that like my go to,
- 21:36Speaker 1: Like my in my brain, my go to would be
- 21:37Speaker 1: like a vintage ring of sorts, like one that you
- 21:42Speaker 1: would get at.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Like a vintage shop that it's like one of a kind.
- 21:45Speaker 1: It's so beautiful you can't get it anywhere else, and
- 21:49Speaker 1: like that's the ring that like your friends and family.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Got you for your thirtieth.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I think a piece of jewelry is really nice because
- 21:55Speaker 1: that's something that you can keep and wear forever. So yeah,
- 21:59Speaker 1: like a piece of antique jewelry or something that is
- 22:03Speaker 1: sentimental and significant to you, whether that's like a clatter
- 22:05Speaker 1: ring or something.
- 22:07Speaker 2: You can get these things called like fingerprint rings and
- 22:11Speaker 2: so like it.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Maybe if you have like.
- 22:13Speaker 1: A partner, or you want your mom or your dad
- 22:15Speaker 1: or someone and they put or your pet, you can
- 22:17Speaker 1: get it with your pets nose print.
- 22:19Speaker 3: So I know, I'm like.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Thank you, that's coming with me.
- 22:25Speaker 1: And yeah, you put your fingerprint like in a mold
- 22:27Speaker 1: and you send it back and then they make it
- 22:30Speaker 1: of you know that person that I just think that's
- 22:32Speaker 1: the kyotest like president in the world because it's.
- 22:35Speaker 3: So personalized and love shit like that. Yeah, that's so beautiful.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yeah, something that is meaningful if you got this is like,
- 22:43Speaker 1: this is a make believe universe. Okay, let's say you
- 22:46Speaker 1: got given your partner, your make be partner gave you
- 22:50Speaker 1: Chris not Chris, not Chris not Chris.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Let's go with Let's go Nikki six.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Nix like an eighteen carrot gold ring with his fingerprint
- 23:02Speaker 2: in it. Right, it's like three thousand dollars his fingerprint.
- 23:06Speaker 5: He can afford it.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Let's he's not famous anyway. Okay, Let's pretend.
- 23:11Speaker 2: They're not famous and they give you a fingerprint ring,
- 23:14Speaker 2: but you break up.
- 23:15Speaker 4: It's a really, really bad breakup.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Do you keep the ring?
- 23:23Speaker 5: If I had their fingerprint in it, I wouldn't.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Day it was just a piece of jewelry that they'd
- 23:27Speaker 1: given me, and I still really loved it. I probably
- 23:30Speaker 1: would keep it, you know, unless I had like their
- 23:33Speaker 1: name or something in it.
- 23:36Speaker 3: But yeah, no, I wouldn't.
- 23:38Speaker 1: On Facebook, marketplaces, engagement, yeah, people send their engagement rings,
- 23:42Speaker 1: but they've got the whole backstory in it.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Oh my god, Sow, I've got to show you them.
- 23:46Speaker 3: They're so good.
- 23:47Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 23:47Speaker 1: You would have to take that down to the sea
- 23:49Speaker 1: and like cleanse them under the full moove.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's like that would be like anyone want
- 23:53Speaker 2: a ex carrot engagement ring from a cheating bustard.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Like get it pay and yes I do.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I was like, I'll take it for fifty Yeah. Yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 3: it's so good.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Okay, next one, when is the Rack collab dropping?
- 24:11Speaker 4: I need so if you.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Miss the memo, Sala and I announced last week that
- 24:21Speaker 2: we will be doing a collab with Rack Apparel.
- 24:25Speaker 4: If you haven't heard.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Of Rack, they are literally the perfect swim where brand
- 24:30Speaker 1: for the people where they're big oh Racks, They're for
- 24:34Speaker 1: the tig ol bitty committee yep, the big busty babes. Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 2: And we've been wearing Rack for years, so this is
- 24:43Speaker 2: something that we're really excited about. When we are first
- 24:47Speaker 2: like signed with a management, which was maybe like a
- 24:51Speaker 2: year ago now, which was at the time also Cristi.
- 24:56Speaker 4: They were like, what's like your what's your goal?
- 24:59Speaker 1: You really and.
- 25:00Speaker 4: We're like a Rack a power of collapse.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Yeah, like they're like that's niche, and we're like, that's
- 25:05Speaker 1: what we want. Yeah, So that was like one.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Of our goals for this year. So it's so wild
- 25:11Speaker 4: that it's actually happening.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Yeah, because yeah, I think a lot of people that
- 25:16Speaker 2: have similar bus sizes to us could relate to the
- 25:21Speaker 2: highs and lowers of high school football and having really
- 25:25Speaker 2: really big breasts that you know, walking into swimwhere stores
- 25:30Speaker 2: it's not the greatest of experiences. Yeah, it's such a
- 25:32Speaker 2: struggle finding something that is supportive but also cute and
- 25:39Speaker 2: good quality that you can wear swimming into the beach
- 25:42Speaker 2: because yeah, like Al said, you can't just walk into
- 25:45Speaker 2: any store and buy swimmers when you have a D
- 25:48Speaker 2: cup or larger.
- 25:50Speaker 1: So ones that don't fall apart after that one summer exactly,
- 25:54Speaker 1: and you want to.
- 25:54Speaker 6: Feel confident and supported.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And like your nipple isn't going to fall out when
- 25:58Speaker 1: you're playing Mermaids. Yeah, so, and we know that that
- 26:03Speaker 1: can be a real struggle and a real nock to
- 26:05Speaker 1: your confidence when you're going swimwear shopping or when you're
- 26:08Speaker 1: at the beach and you don't feel comfortable. So we
- 26:11Speaker 1: were so excited for this collaboration because it is honestly
- 26:15Speaker 1: the cutest swimwear dream bikinis.
- 26:19Speaker 5: We've ever seen.
- 26:20Speaker 1: And I know we may be biased, but also based
- 26:22Speaker 1: on your chicks reactions, like.
- 26:25Speaker 3: I think that they might be the cutest.
- 26:27Speaker 4: I I'm so excited.
- 26:28Speaker 1: So we can't say the exact date, but we can
- 26:31Speaker 1: say it will be the first week of October, so.
- 26:35Speaker 6: Market calendars, market cows.
- 26:36Speaker 1: It'll be the first week of October.
- 26:38Speaker 2: But we will have a lot more info coming very
- 26:41Speaker 2: soon and we'll have like a bit of a try
- 26:43Speaker 2: on hale.
- 26:44Speaker 1: We'll show you how you can tie the multi way top.
- 26:46Speaker 1: There's like four different.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Ways you can style these, so you're kind of getting
- 26:49Speaker 2: like four bikinis in one. It's a sligh it's bang
- 26:52Speaker 2: for your buck and I'm just so happy.
- 26:54Speaker 4: People are really.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Excited and they really like it.
- 26:57Speaker 6: Yeah, we hope you love it.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Samesi's okay breakup advice suddenly single at thirty three. Sal
- 27:04Speaker 2: and I've been talking about this recently. We're going through
- 27:07Speaker 2: a bit of a breakup season at the moment. Yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 2: we've been getting a lot of dms from.
- 27:11Speaker 1: People saying that they that they're going through a breakup,
- 27:15Speaker 1: which I thought Breakup Day was on December eleventh, let's
- 27:19Speaker 1: come early.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I think there is always like two rounds of black
- 27:22Speaker 2: breakup seasons. Yeah, it's always halfway through the year and
- 27:25Speaker 2: then at the end of the year, start of the year.
- 27:28Speaker 2: And I honestly think the best thing you can do
- 27:32Speaker 2: is like give yourself the space to grieve. Yeah, Like,
- 27:35Speaker 2: breakups are one of the roguest things that can happen
- 27:38Speaker 2: to you at any point in time. Like, I think
- 27:41Speaker 2: we think about breakups as being like such an exclusive
- 27:44Speaker 2: thing to your twenties, but you experienced multiple breakups with
- 27:48Speaker 2: multiple people throughout your entire life, whether it's romantic, whether
- 27:52Speaker 2: it's with friends. The best thing that you can do
- 27:54Speaker 2: is give yourself space and time and do the things
- 27:58Speaker 2: that you genuinely enjoy doing.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Pull your self back to what's really helpful is.
- 28:01Speaker 2: The things that you enjoyed doing when you were younger,
- 28:04Speaker 2: Like what movies did you enjoy watching? Put on Miscongeniality
- 28:08Speaker 2: and practical magic like watch Sex in the City. Really
- 28:12Speaker 2: reintroduce yourself to the things that made you an individual.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I think it's really really easy to lose yourself in
- 28:19Speaker 2: relationships and your entire life becomes a partnership that when
- 28:23Speaker 2: you go through a breakup, you lose a part of yourself,
- 28:26Speaker 2: which is true, but it's about refeeling that cup.
- 28:30Speaker 1: It's about refieling that other half and finding what that is.
- 28:34Speaker 3: I think as well.
- 28:35Speaker 1: There are some really really exciting parts of breakups that
- 28:39Speaker 1: we don't think about, that we don't celebrate, right, Like
- 28:42Speaker 1: when you go through a breakup, you can watch whatever
- 28:45Speaker 1: movie you want to watch, you can.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Order whatever takeaway.
- 28:49Speaker 2: It is like this really the truest phase of independence
- 28:54Speaker 2: that I think lean into, that being like I can
- 28:56Speaker 2: do whatever the fuck I want, which you should be
- 28:58Speaker 2: able to.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Do in a healthy, reallyfationship anyway.
- 29:01Speaker 1: But all relationships also include compromise exactly, So even if
- 29:05Speaker 1: like you should be able to do that, but you
- 29:07Speaker 1: also do have.
- 29:07Speaker 2: To compromise, Like you can't decide what you want to
- 29:09Speaker 2: watch every night, like sometimes you watch what your partner
- 29:12Speaker 2: wants to watch even though you don't want to. Whereas
- 29:14Speaker 2: now you don't have to do that. You don't have
- 29:16Speaker 2: to watch The Wolf of Wall Street or the Godfather
- 29:18Speaker 2: or American Psycho anymore.
- 29:20Speaker 5: That is like worth celebrating in itself, right.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I also love when you see like the girlies who've
- 29:26Speaker 1: just gone through a breakup and all of a sudden,
- 29:29Speaker 1: like their Instagram.
- 29:30Speaker 6: Is popping the fuck off, like the selfies.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Yeah, they finally tell Yeah.
- 29:36Speaker 1: You can tell you should be studied. Yeah, the instagram
- 29:40Speaker 1: of like a post breakup. I might wait, you're slaying
- 29:43Speaker 1: a bit too close to the sun. Yeah, you single,
- 29:47Speaker 1: and you're like I know that, Like you're my ex
- 29:50Speaker 1: colleaguess cousin who I met one time at their twenty
- 29:52Speaker 1: fifth Yeah, but I can tell you've got a new
- 29:55Speaker 1: spine now too.
- 29:57Speaker 4: I think this is.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Actually one of my LinkedIn skills. How many times have
- 30:00Speaker 1: I messaged you, yeah, at like eleven thirty at night
- 30:03Speaker 1: about someone we met six months ago once and I'm
- 30:05Speaker 1: like X and X broke up and you're like, how
- 30:07Speaker 1: do you know what? I'm like yeah, and then scroll
- 30:10Speaker 1: through it all will bump into them and I remember
- 30:12Speaker 1: it happened one time and I was like, I think
- 30:14Speaker 1: this person, this person broke up.
- 30:15Speaker 2: And you're like, no matter, and then you saw them
- 30:18Speaker 2: and you're like they did and I was like, oh,
- 30:20Speaker 2: I know it.
- 30:20Speaker 5: Yeah I knew it.
- 30:22Speaker 3: But anyway, sorry, back to the cue.
- 30:24Speaker 1: But yeah, I also think don't jump into like dating
- 30:28Speaker 1: dating too quickly.
- 30:29Speaker 3: I think jump into flirting.
- 30:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I think you have.
- 30:33Speaker 1: A flirt if you want to download an app and
- 30:36Speaker 1: like have a little have a little vindication through that, yeah,
- 30:39Speaker 1: gell little ego boots.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Yeah, ye, little ego boosts.
- 30:41Speaker 4: But I think definitely have a little bit of a.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Rest and recover.
- 30:44Speaker 2: That's not to say people can't move on within a
- 30:47Speaker 2: certain timeframe. I'm like, that is so open to whatever
- 30:50Speaker 2: people want to do.
- 30:51Speaker 5: So like, listen to your heart and follow your gut
- 30:53Speaker 5: with that.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Yeah, what do you think about?
- 30:55Speaker 2: Have you ever heard the theory of the bad pancake?
- 31:01Speaker 6: Do you want to walk the chicks through it? If
- 31:03Speaker 6: they haven't heard it, I wonder.
- 31:04Speaker 1: I don't know if this is true, but the theory
- 31:09Speaker 1: of the bad pancake is or the first pancake. Maybe
- 31:14Speaker 1: I'm remembering wrong, whatever, the theory of the first pancake
- 31:17Speaker 1: is that the first person you date after a breakup
- 31:21Speaker 1: is the bad pancake.
- 31:23Speaker 6: Yeah, because you test it.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Yeah, the first pancake you make when you're making pancakes
- 31:27Speaker 1: is always a bit of a write off.
- 31:28Speaker 3: You're like, oh, it's the.
- 31:29Speaker 1: First pancakes, a bit weird shaped, it doesn't quite Yeah,
- 31:34Speaker 1: it's got heaps of bubbles in it.
- 31:35Speaker 4: It's not quite right. Yeah, it's still tastes good.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's just not it's just not it.
- 31:41Speaker 5: It's not the best you can do.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's your first pancake. So it's your first try
- 31:45Speaker 4: and you're like, you know what I can do better,
- 31:46Speaker 4: and you get to the next pancake. I don't know
- 31:50Speaker 4: if that theory is true.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I think there's some instances in my life that there's been,
- 31:53Speaker 2: you know, the first pancake, and then there's been others
- 31:55Speaker 2: that haven't.
- 31:56Speaker 6: Yeah, but I think there's some truth to it.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I think there's definitely a bit of truth to it,
- 32:00Speaker 2: because sometimes you rush into things.
- 32:02Speaker 4: And then you're like, oh wait, actually I'm not ready.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And I think something that I'll add as well is
- 32:06Speaker 1: that the chick who wrote this in said that she's
- 32:09Speaker 1: thirty three, and I think that for women especially, there
- 32:14Speaker 1: is a lot of pressure just due to the conversations
- 32:18Speaker 1: around you know, the sorts of milestones that we should
- 32:20Speaker 1: be hitting by a certain age. Unfortunately, you know, the
- 32:23Speaker 1: biological clock is a real thing and something that a
- 32:26Speaker 1: lot of women feel a lot of pressure by. But
- 32:29Speaker 1: I just want you to maybe release yourself from a
- 32:32Speaker 1: bit of that pressure. It's something that's completely warranted to
- 32:37Speaker 1: be thinking about and be concerned by. But from my
- 32:41Speaker 1: experiences and conversations with you know, my friends or people
- 32:45Speaker 1: who i've you know, known in my life who are
- 32:47Speaker 1: in their thirties now, I sometimes think like, are you
- 32:51Speaker 1: rushing into this because you feel like you don't have
- 32:54Speaker 1: any time left? And I don't want to downplay that
- 32:58Speaker 1: concern because it's a serious. But in your thirties, you
- 33:02Speaker 1: still have so much life left to live, and I
- 33:06Speaker 1: don't want you to throw it away on the bad
- 33:09Speaker 1: pancake because of societal pressures. I think it's okay to
- 33:13Speaker 1: have it in the back of your mind, but give yourself,
- 33:16Speaker 1: you know, you still have time, give yourself time to
- 33:19Speaker 1: get to know yourself, like al was saying, and to
- 33:22Speaker 1: give yourself the space to meet the right person. Because
- 33:25Speaker 1: I also think of, you know, like all the people
- 33:28Speaker 1: who would be in their fifties and sixties who get divorced.
- 33:31Speaker 4: And then they find the love of their life.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, it's never too late to find that person.
- 33:39Speaker 1: So I think, also remember that you still have plenty
- 33:42Speaker 1: of time and concentrate on getting yourself back to the
