Latest / The Vault: The Epstein Files / How 4Chan Scooped The Legacy Media The Morning Of Jeffrey Epstein's Death
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's death was reported at eight fifty four am
- 0:07by Aaron Katski for ABC News. The only problem with
- 0:13that is thirty eight minutes prior to that post going public,
- 0:19Jeffrey Epstein's death was already announced on four Chan. The
- 0:25question is who made the post on four chan about
- 0:27Jeffrey Epstein's death. And I've looked and looked and looked,
- 0:32and there has been no follow up reporting about this.
- 0:35So we had the initial story break on August thirteenth,
- 0:39and it was, you know, being reported that this post
- 0:42was made on four chan. And we know that the
- 0:44FDNY they initiated an investigation or a review into if
- 0:49it could have been one of their employees who made
- 0:52the post. Well, after that conversation with the chief of
- 0:55the fire department occurred where he said that they did
- 0:59the view and they found out that it was not
- 1:01one of them, Well, the story pretty much just went away.
- 1:04We haven't heard anything about it. There's been no follow
- 1:07up reports, there's been no media reports about it and nothing.
- 1:11So I thought that we'd go back and we take
- 1:14a look at that post from on four chan with
- 1:17the benefit of hindsight. Now again, I don't know what
- 1:22the deal is, right, and more than likely it was
- 1:24probably somebody who was working the crime scene, who I
- 1:28guess uses four chan as well, who decided that they
- 1:31were going to break the story themselves and post as
- 1:34an anon on four Chan and basically scoop the media.
- 1:38Now that's the most likely scenario, right, But who knows.
- 1:42We don't have any evidence, really any reporting at all
- 1:45about this except for the initial story. So I thought
- 1:48it was a good idea to go back and have
- 1:50another look at this with hindsight as a tool that
- 1:54we can use. You know, now that we know so
- 1:56much about the case, when we go back and we
- 1:58take a look at it, and maybe things will all
- 2:00into place, right, maybe we'll have a better idea of
- 2:02about who would be posting on four chan and what
- 2:05that motivation would be. So, again, more than likely it
- 2:09was somebody who was working the crime scene. There was
- 2:11a bunch of people working the crime scene obviously, right,
- 2:14so it was probably one of them who made the post.
- 2:17But that doesn't answer the question of who the person is, right,
- 2:21that's the likeliest scenario. But how come there was never
- 2:24any reporting about this after the fact. How come there
- 2:28was never no follow up or no digging or anybody
- 2:31trying to figure out who the initial author was. I
- 2:36think it's pretty interesting that they just let this story
- 2:38die out, because who knows, whoever made that post might
- 2:42be able to add a little bit of perspective to
- 2:44the case, a little bit of context.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:46Speaker 1: So we're going to go back and we're going to
- 2:48check out the first article. It's a BuzzFeed News article,
- 2:51and we're going to see what they have to say.
- 2:54This article was first published August thirteenth, twenty nineteen, and
- 2:59this this article was written by Jane Litvinenko. Headline Jeffrey
- 3:09Epstein's death was on four chan before officials announced it
- 3:13and authorities had to look into it. About thirty eight
- 3:16minutes before news outlets first reported Jeffrey Epstein's death in prison,
- 3:20a four chan user published a detail post about it. Now,
- 3:24that's pretty concerning in the best of times, right, very
- 3:27concerning when you see something like that and it looks
- 3:30like a breach from the inside an employee more than likely.
- 3:33But again, who knows, and you see this kind of thing,
- 3:36and A it's very unprofessional, right, and B you have
- 3:40to ask yourself, why would somebody that's in the middle
- 3:44of doing this work, you know, trying to resuscitate Epstein
- 3:48or showing up to the crime scene. What's their motivation
- 3:51for posting it on four Chan? And that's a question
- 3:54I've asked myself time and time again when I've looked
- 3:57back at this part of the case and pondered who
- 4:00it could be and what their motivation was making that post.
- 4:03And again, more than likely it was probably just somebody
- 4:06at the crime scene, right, somebody who is, you know,
- 4:10not so serious about their job obviously, and who decided that,
- 4:13you know what, I'm gonna ship post real quick to
- 4:14four chan and I'm going to scoop the media. That's
- 4:17that's what I would when when I first looked at this,
- 4:19this is what I you know, the scenario I came
- 4:21up with. And still, you know, going back and looking
- 4:24at it, I'm still leaning towards that as the scenario
- 4:28of the origination of this post. But I think it
- 4:31deserves further examination, and I think, you know, there's definitely
- 4:34a question to be asked as to who the author was.
- 4:39New York City Fire Department looked into whether an employee
- 4:42posted about Jeffrey Epstein's death on a notorious Internet message
- 4:46board prior to officials announcing it to the public. BuzzFeed
- 4:49News has learned after telling BuzzFeed News the post was
- 4:53under review and FDNY spokesperson set authorities determined this alleged
- 4:58information did not come from the fire department, all right,
- 5:01So it didn't come from fire department. What about the
- 5:04correctional officers that were on the scene. What about you know,
- 5:08anybody else who might have been there. Who's the doctor?
- 5:12I think this is, you know, something that should not
- 5:14have been ignored. And if somebody who was working the
- 5:17scene and working as an employee of the jail system.
- 5:23I think that people should act and conduct themselves correctly
- 5:26when it comes to something like this, so that there
- 5:28can be no outs for people like Epstein and their lawyers.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You know what, if Jeffrey Epstein would have survived this,
- 5:36and they would have conducted their investigation and the resuscitation
- 5:39and all of that stuff, and they would have done
- 5:41it in a manner that was considered sloppy, you don't
- 5:44think Jeffrey Epstein's attorneys, led by Alan Dershowitz, would have
- 5:47had a field day with that and found a loophole
- 5:49to get him some less time or whatever, because that's
- 5:52how they play this game. When you're dealing with somebody
- 5:54like Epstein, and you're dealing with somebody that's as powerful
- 5:58as he is when it comes to his manipul of
- 6:00the courts, you have to make sure that you have
- 6:02an ironclad case and you're following the rules to a t.
- 6:06And we know from everything that went on the day
- 6:09of his of Epstein's death, we know that literally no
- 6:13steps were followed. There was no pictures of the crime scene. Video,
- 6:16I mean video footage, bodycam footage by the officers who responded,
- 6:21they moved the body. All sorts of bad stuff happened, right,
- 6:24So this is just another question that has not been answered.
- 6:29An investigation is a formal is a formal act which
- 6:32brings about a process which includes interviewing witnesses, serving notice,
- 6:35determined incredibility of witness statements, and that was not warranted,
- 6:39nor did it take place here. This determination was made
- 6:43after a review of the incident. We looked at the
- 6:46information provided by a reporter, and we looked at our
- 6:49own records, and there was no match, said FDNY spokesperson
- 6:53Frank Dwyer, who added that the fdnwy's Office of Healthcare
- 6:56Compliance conducted the review. It doesn't match our medical records.
- 7:01Almost forty minutes before ABC News first reported Epstein's death
- 7:05on Twitter, someone posted still unverified details on four Chan,
- 7:09the anonymous message board popular with far right trolls and
- 7:12white nationalists. I think that they could probably tone that
- 7:16back a little bit right. How about a popular message
- 7:19board with all sorts of radicals and whack jobs. I mean,
- 7:23have you ever dipped your toe into four Chan? If
- 7:25you're looking for a look into the human psyche of
- 7:30the in cell or the psychopath, definitely four Chan would
- 7:34be the place to go. I'm talking if Sigmund Freud
- 7:36was alive and he went to four chan, he would
- 7:38have a field day the post. Don't ask me how
- 7:42I know, but Epstein died an hour ago from hanging
- 7:45and cardiac arrest. Screencap. This read the post, which was
- 7:49published at eight sixteen am, alongside an image of Pepe,
- 7:53the green frog that has become a mascot for right
- 7:55wing internet trolls. And again, the BuzzFeed obviously has their
- 8:00political bent. Right obviously has their own bias, and of course,
- 8:05if they get a chance to slam the football down
- 8:07and score some political points by pointing out that right
- 8:10wing trolls hang out on four Chan. Well, they can
- 8:12never help they can never help themselves. They have to
- 8:15do it, so they have to make sure they slam
- 8:18the football down and make sure that they're doing their
- 8:20part to keep the tribalism in play. Meanwhile, none of that,
- 8:24it's necessary. Just give us the information and don't try
- 8:28and divide the people. Let the people come together and
- 8:32force justice in the case. Right. But even when they're
- 8:35reporting on something as serious as this at a place
- 8:37like BuzzFeed, it has to be skewered, it has to
- 8:40be has to have a political bend right, And it's
- 8:42no different from other outlets on the right, you know,
- 8:45Bright Bart, etc. Etc. It's all the same thing. And
- 8:48what it is, folks, And why I point it out,
- 8:50it's just more gaslighting. It's more gaslighting by the legacy media,
- 8:55them trying to get you to think a certain way.
- 8:59That message was posted thirty eight minutes before the first
- 9:01tweet about Epstein's death from Aaron Katski, an ABC News reporter,
- 9:06at eight fifty four am. Five minutes later, the main
- 9:09ABC News account tweeted an article about Epstein's death After
- 9:14publishing the post, other four chan users egged on the
- 9:17author when they expressed doubt. The original poster added more
- 9:21information to the discussion thread, including a detailed breakdown of
- 9:24the procedures allegedly used to resuscitate Epstein, which suggests the
- 9:29poster may have been a first responder, medical worker, or
- 9:32otherwise privy to details about efforts to resuscitate the disgraced
- 9:36financier pedophile. So that's interesting, right. The details that the
- 9:41poster posted afterwards match up with what happens at a
- 9:45scene like this, suggesting that it was a medical worker
- 9:48or somebody that was a medic or with training. Now,
- 9:51who knows who else was around? Do we have a
- 9:53full accounting of who was in that cell when Epstein
- 9:55was being resuscitated. Maybe there was a doctor there that
- 9:58we didn't know about. Could be right, We don't know.
- 10:00That's the problem, folks. That's the biggest problem here. There
- 10:03has not been any transparency when it comes to the government.
- 10:06There has been zero transparency when it comes to the
- 10:09circumstances that led to Jeffrey Epstein's death, and therefore, in
- 10:14lieu of that, there is going to be questions, there's
- 10:16going to be skepticism. Nobody's gonna believe that the narrative
- 10:21that they're trying to push when the only person who's
- 10:24seen these supposed tapes is bar right of what was
- 10:27going on in the cell. Oh, I saw the tapes.
- 10:29You can trust me that nothing occurred. Sorry, buddy, I
- 10:31don't trust you. You see all these coincidences that are
- 10:35around Jeffrey Epstein's death, It warrants more investigation, and it
- 10:40certainly warrants more than you have to trust me and
- 10:43believe me, especially when all of the players that are
- 10:46involved in this are at the highest levels of power.
- 10:49How do we know that you're not covering for them?
- 10:52Nobody who's gonna trust just your word on something like this? Right,
- 10:56and again, we don't know who is at the scene.
- 10:58We don't have a detailed listing. We don't have an
- 11:00account of the actual personnel that showed up when Epstein
- 11:04supposedly killed himself. We don't have We don't have those details.
- 11:07So it's money. It could be anybody. It could be
- 11:10a fireman and the review missed it. It could be
- 11:12a medic and the review missed it. It could be
- 11:14an employee of the of the prison and the review
- 11:17missed it. Who knows who it was? And that's the
- 11:20question I'm asking, who could have possibly made this post
- 11:24and why has it not been of interest enough to
- 11:28the legacy media for them to come back and take
- 11:31another look at this. Dwyer told BuzzFeed News he could
- 11:37not verify the accuracy of the information in the four
- 11:40chan post, but he said any medical professional who divulges
- 11:43patient information without consent is in violation of a federal
- 11:47health privacy law HIPPA, and that FDN Y would look
- 11:50into it again. Another case of the investor, the the
- 11:53investigated investigating themselves. You know, don't get me wrong. The
- 11:57fire department in any in the world are is filled
- 12:01with brave souls, right, absolute modern day heroes. Anyone who
- 12:05runs into a building that's on fire has a big
- 12:08set on them and deserves respect. Right. So I'm not
- 12:11talking about the the the actual fireman here, but when
- 12:14you get into the bureaucrats, Look, this is big business man,
- 12:17especially in a place like New York. It's big business.
- 12:20When you become the chief or you're the head of
- 12:22the fire department, you're not You're no longer a man
- 12:25that's running into buildings you're in a different circle, right,
- 12:28You're in another food range. At this point. You're dealing
- 12:31with politics. You're dealing with politicians, city councilmen, et cetera,
- 12:35et cetera. So of course they're going to lean on
- 12:37you and they're going to suggest that you move things
- 12:42in a forthright manner. And you know, look, these guys
- 12:47are not above being pressured. Right, you're a police chief,
- 12:50whatever it may be. These guys are pressured all the time.
- 12:53We see it all the time, and that's probably what
- 12:56was happening here as well. They you know, they were
- 12:58pressured to get initiated in a review, and they probably
- 13:02did a review, but not a long one, not a
- 13:05good one, not one that truly vetted everybody that was there,
- 13:09kind of just like a save face review. In my opinion,
- 13:16The department will review this incident, he said at the time.
- 13:19The FDNY later said that it is reviewing the incident,
- 13:23but there is no investigation. That's interesting, haun. Just a
- 13:26review that didn't even warrant enough for an investigation, huh,
- 13:30even if it was just something as as basic as
- 13:36one of the medics or the fire department guys that
- 13:40were on scene, or a police officer, a corrections officer,
- 13:43I should say even if it was something like one
- 13:46of them made the post, then that should you know,
- 13:48they should they should say that they shouldn't conduct this
- 13:51shoddy review and then come out and say, oh, well
- 13:52we don't know who made the post, because that doesn't
- 13:55really cut it right. There were only certain members that
- 13:58there certain people that were there, so there's a list
- 14:00of people that it could have been. I just don't
- 14:02understand how this doesn't warrant more investigation to find out
- 14:06who made the post. Or In Barzilai, the president of
- 14:15the Union for EMT Workers Local twenty five oh seven
- 14:18in New York, said, our members do not release this
- 14:20type of confidential information. This looks like third party info.
- 14:25All right, well, what third parties were there? Again? That's
- 14:28the question I have. Doesn't mean that there was something
- 14:31devious going on with this post, or that it was
- 14:33part of a grand conspiracy, but it certainly warrants further
- 14:37investigation and for some context, right and some clarity going forward.
- 14:42This is another problem I have with the legacy media.
- 14:45They like to report stuff and then never go back
- 14:47and do a follow up. And what they do is
- 14:50they just you know, keep it moving, and they act
- 14:53like it wasn't important or it wasn't a useful piece
- 14:55of information in the case, and they just bury it.
- 14:58And I don't understand why they would do that and
- 15:01not try and figure out where this post originated. I
- 15:05think that that would be an interesting investigation and the
- 15:09person who wrote the post, I think that would be
- 15:11one hell of an interview. Barslay also told BuzzFeed News
- 15:17the union would investigate the potential breach of confidentiality if
- 15:21such a claim came forward. There's serious consequences for those violations, discipline, suspensions,
- 15:27civil penalties, etc. Barslay set in an email, Oh yeah,
- 15:31we can tell. We can tell that you guys really
- 15:33initiated an investigation. Huh. Again, nothing against the union, right
- 15:37they have to protect their members. I get it. But
- 15:40where is the independent oversight of all of these bureaucracies.
- 15:43There is none. It's supposed to come from Congress or
- 15:47of the city council locally, but we never see that.
- 15:49They're too busy advancing whatever their own motivations are, whatever
- 15:53their own private personal projects might be. They don't have
- 16:00time for oversight. Oversight, Yeah right, they'll conduct their own
- 16:03investigations and then when something horrible happens and someone like
- 16:09Jeffrey Epstein dies in jail, the finger starting point begins, right,
- 16:12they start blaming each other. Oh, this part of the
- 16:15department was lax, or this part department didn't do their job.
- 16:19When we know it's a systematic problem. The whole entire thing,
- 16:24from top to bottom is broken, including the two tier
- 16:28justice system. When are we going to address that? When
- 16:31are we going to fix that? The Medical Examiner's Office
- 16:36and the Metropolitan Correctional Center both declined to comment. Spokespeople
- 16:40for the New York Presbyterian Hospital have not responded to
- 16:43repeated emails and calls requesting comment. That's interesting. Now, I
- 16:48don't have any evidence of anybody who could have made
- 16:51this post, right, But in my opinion, I bet you
- 16:53it came from the Medical Examiner's office. It sounds like
- 16:56something from a medical examiner's office in my opinion. Now,
- 17:00who that could be, I have no idea, And if
- 17:01that's even the case, I have no evidence to prove that.
- 17:04That's from reading this and knowing about the circumstances surrounding this.
- 17:09In my opinion, that's the likeliest place for this leak
- 17:13to have originated. The full details of Epstein's death won't
- 17:18be known until the final coroner's report is released, meaning
- 17:21the four chan post laying out the alleged treatment he
- 17:24received cannot be fully verified. An EMS expert contacted by
- 17:28BuzzFeed News said the details in the post are consistent
- 17:31with standard practices, and again they'll do they're trying to
- 17:35make it seem here like you know, we still can't
- 17:37verify the what happened afterwards, the stuff that the poster
- 17:41talked about afterwards. But I think while that's important, the
- 17:45most the biggest thing here is the fact that the
- 17:48poster broke the story before Legacy media thirty eight minutes
- 17:52before legacy media. Where did he get that information? As
- 17:58we all know, the legacy the media is on everything.
- 18:01You know, they was something salacious like this, They have
- 18:04contacts everywhere. The fact that they were scooped for so
- 18:07long is it's crazy to me to think that they
- 18:12didn't get their clause on the story first and they
- 18:14were scooped by four Chan. Information released by the Federal
- 18:22Bureau of Prisons also appears to line up with some
- 18:25of what was posted on four Chan. Again, it look
- 18:29in my opinion, there's zero doubt that this post originated
- 18:32from the site of Jeffrey Epstein's death from the jailhouse. Now,
- 18:37the question is who made the post? Right? That is
- 18:40the whole point of tonight's episode, And the whole point
- 18:44of the question that I'm asking is who could have
- 18:47possibly made this post and why has there not been
- 18:50more of an investigation into the origination of this post.
- 18:56Doctor Keith Wesley, an emergency medicine physician who has authored
- 19:00several EMS textbooks and articles, viewed the four chan posts
- 19:03at BuzzFeed News request and said it lays out standard
- 19:06procedures for paramedics. This sounds like standard American Heart Association guidelines,
- 19:13which most EMS agencies use. Wesley said. Parts of the
- 19:16post refers to telemetry advised BYCARB. According to Wesley, this
- 19:21could mean the first responders were also speaking with the
- 19:24hospitals as they were trying to resuscitate their patient. That's
- 19:29pretty interesting, right, they were talking to the hospital, according
- 19:32to that post, and they were seeking guidance. Right, they
- 19:35were in the field and they were seeking guidance from
- 19:37doctors as these medics attempted to resuscitate Jeffrey Epstein. Telemetry
- 19:45implies the paramedics were in contact with a medical control
- 19:48hospital who then gave orders to give sodium bicarbonate BYCARB,
- 19:53which is designed to reverse the acid build up in
- 19:55the blood from prolonged cardiac arrest, Wesley said in an email.
- 20:02So here was the follow up post by the anon
- 20:05who sent the original post about Epstein being dead.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Worked as assstall arrest for forty minutes, als intubated in
- 20:16the field, EPI two leaders n s infused telemetry advised
- 20:21BYICARB and D fifty in the field.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Patient transported to Lower Manhattan Er and worked on for
- 20:26twenty minutes and called hospital administrator was alerted preparing statements.
- 20:32So that was the follow up post to the original
- 20:35post where they stated that Epstein had been was dead, right,
- 20:40So they added this later on. I don't know how much.
- 20:43Let's see what time later. This was added about the
- 20:48eight forty seven fifty six. So still this post, the
- 20:53second post that he made was still seven minutes roughly
- 20:57before ABC scooped, I mean before ABC came out and
- 21:01reported the news. So that's pretty interesting, right, This poster
- 21:06fired off two posts about Epstein's death before ABC News
- 21:11even picked it up. If one of the medics posted
- 21:15this separately. That's a breach of protocol, he added if
- 21:17there was an identify if there was identifying information on
- 21:20the patient, that is a violation of federal hippo law.
- 21:24The four chan user made six posts about Epstein's death.
- 21:27One of them claimed that attempts to resuscitate Epstein was
- 21:30made for forty minutes before he was transported to the hospital,
- 21:33at which point medical personnel tried to revive him for
- 21:36another twenty minutes. Those details are at least partially consistent
- 21:40with the information regarding Epstein's death that have been publicly
- 21:44released by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. So I think
- 21:47it's pretty fair to say at this point that the
- 21:49person who made that post was in the know. They
- 21:52knew what was going on. They had an idea, a
- 21:55very good idea of the situation on hand, and they
- 22:00knew exactly what went on, meaning the steps that were
- 22:02taken to try and resuscitate Epstein and bring him back
- 22:06to life after he was found unresponsive in his cell,
- 22:09which suggests to me a medical professional of some sort
- 22:15pt transported to Lower Manhattan Er and worked on for
- 22:19twenty minutes and called hospital administrator was alerted preparing statement
- 22:23said the four chan post staff requested emergency medical services
- 22:27and life saving efforts continued. Set a statement released by
- 22:31the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons on Saturday,
- 22:34mister Epstein was transported by EMS to a local hospital
- 22:37for treatment of life threatening injuries and subsequently pronounced dead
- 22:41by hospital staff. So you see how it adds up, right,
- 22:45This is what the poster originally said, and then you
- 22:47have the Department of Justice giving us their very cryptic
- 22:52releases like usual, just enough information, right, So it's unbelievable
- 22:56how much they keep back from the American public. It
- 22:58is unbelievable how they play games with the American public.
- 23:04It's not clear who posted the news of Epstein's death
- 23:07on four chan, but first responders and hospital staff would
- 23:10have access to information laid out in the post. The
- 23:13reaction of four Chan to the news was explosive. Some
- 23:16users didn't believe the author, while others launched straight into
- 23:19conspiracy theories that have since engulf news of Epstein's death.
- 23:24The four chan thread was first found by Conrad etterby
- 23:27a developer based in Barcelona who was researching conspiracy surrounding
- 23:31Epstein's Epstein online. That'll keep the conspiracies forever. I Urby
- 23:36said about the four Chan post, and again, look, folks,
- 23:40we I don't have any information that's saying that this
- 23:43is some kind of you know, huge part of the
- 23:46case or anything like that. This isn't like a piece
- 23:49of information that's gonna blow this case wide open. But
- 23:52it's very interesting that nobody has reported on this since
- 23:55we have no news reports about who the post might
- 23:59have been made by, no follow up stories about it.
- 24:03And it's pretty significant that a story as as big
- 24:07as this was broke on four chan as opposed to
- 24:10buy the legacy media. Pretty amazing in my opinion. Now again,
- 24:16and all signs lead to a medical professional being the
- 24:22person who posted this. Now the question would be who
- 24:25were the medical professionals that were on scene, And of
- 24:28course we don't have that information, so we can't even
- 24:31begin to speculate. All I can say is that this
- 24:34post definitely was made on four Chan before Jeffrey Epstein
- 24:37was dead. This post called it before Jeffrey Epstein was dead,
- 24:42and then went into the procedures that were supposedly used
- 24:46on Jeffrey Epstein to try and resuscitate him. And this
- 24:49was all before ABC even reported that the guy was dead.
- 24:54Crazy times we're living in, folks, Crazy times that we
- 24:58are living in. There are so many different rabbit holes
- 25:06to go down in Jeffrey, in this Jeffrey Epstein case
- 25:09that it's it's it's mind boggling that every single time
- 25:14you think that you have a question answered in this case,
- 25:16another one arises. So again, folks, what do you think?
- 25:20Who do you think could have been the author of
- 25:22that post? It could have a medical professional, maybe one
- 25:26of the guards. What do you guys think? You can
