Kazuma Okamoto Shatters Rookie HR Record | Toronto Blue Jays News
Kazuma Okamoto just shattered Blue Jays rookie home run history with his 25th blast this season, breaking Eric Hinske’s 20-year-old record — despite battling an August slump that saw him go homerless since late July. Still leading the team in homers and RBIs, Okamoto’s power is a lifeline for Toronto’s struggling offense. Though his strikeout rate and average lag behind top ROY contenders, his Japanese pedigree and $60M contract are paying off in big ways — especially when he’s swinging for the fences.
