- 1:34Speaker 2: That's a very unique way. He came up through the
- 1:37Speaker 2: sim game. Willie sees on vacation with this family. So
- 1:40Speaker 2: our beautiful black Delandy Walker, he's hanging out with us today.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It's summertime. We got tans going on. Let's give a
- 1:45Speaker 2: big round of a boss for William iron Man. Thank
- 1:50Speaker 2: you got me electro stack ahead. You dude, I know so
- 1:54Speaker 2: you we were sitting here before. You were looking at
- 1:56Speaker 2: the bus. You're so excited. You're like, this is awesome.
- 1:59Speaker 2: We're gonna get all on into that. But you asked me,
- 2:00Speaker 2: how was the racist past weekend? And dude, we've done
- 2:03Speaker 2: Nashville three times now. This was our third time we went. Yeah,
- 2:07Speaker 2: the access that y'all give, like being able to walk
- 2:09Speaker 2: up to you hang out because like from a football
- 2:12Speaker 2: standpoint on game day on our Sundays. Yeah, if someone
- 2:15Speaker 2: were to be like, hey, you had to meet these people,
- 2:18Speaker 2: talk to these people before the game, I would I
- 2:20Speaker 2: would literally be like, there's no shots. Yeah, I would
- 2:23Speaker 2: be able to do this. And the fact that you
- 2:24Speaker 2: guys take the time, come out of your trailers, get
- 2:26Speaker 2: out of that zen mode and come over and say
- 2:29Speaker 2: what's up to the boys and hang out was awesome.
- 2:31Speaker 1: The people were great.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It was It was the coolest thing to me, dude,
- 2:35Speaker 2: was these pit crew guys because I see you, I
- 2:37Speaker 2: see you crazy athletes.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they just to jump over the wall
- 2:42Speaker 3: when the car's going fifty miles an hour. Yea, Like,
- 2:44Speaker 3: no one would do that in the right mind.
- 2:46Speaker 2: No, especially due that's like in the front. Yeah, one
- 2:48Speaker 2: guy who's pretending to be brave, he feels the court out. Well,
- 2:50Speaker 2: the other guys are running into the front line. Go yeah,
- 2:53Speaker 2: just go and get it out of there. How have
- 2:55Speaker 2: you ever you ever accidently smoked one of your born.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I'm sure I have. I'm I am sure I have.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I just can't remember. I mean, sometimes you lose breaks
- 3:03Speaker 3: and you think, man, like the pedals getting long. You're like,
- 3:06Speaker 3: I'm not sure if I'm gonna get slowed down here
- 3:08Speaker 3: but you just don't look at them like they coach
- 3:10Speaker 3: you to, Like you look at the sign, so you're
- 3:12Speaker 3: you're judging your depth perception off that sign, but you're
- 3:15Speaker 3: not even looking at the guys. They're just floating around.
- 3:17Speaker 2: There, ripping around, and they kind of have their own
- 3:19Speaker 2: little thing the way they go. Yeah, how often do
- 3:21Speaker 2: you guys practice that's our door cracking right there? For
- 3:24Speaker 2: the any of you wondering listening on audio, how do
- 3:27Speaker 2: you guys practice them getting in and out?
- 3:30Speaker 1: Like?
- 3:30Speaker 2: Do you guys practice pits like during the week? So
- 3:32Speaker 2: what's going to look?
- 3:33Speaker 3: So I don't because I feel like it's not it's
- 3:36Speaker 3: not realistic for me because I'm we can't have a
- 3:38Speaker 3: big enough runway to have like to meet for me
- 3:41Speaker 3: to go fifty miles an hour into the pit box.
- 3:43Speaker 3: So like for me, I just need to look at
- 3:45Speaker 3: tape and film and just study, like, Okay, at this place,
- 3:49Speaker 3: I'm going fifty miles an hour, So how do I
- 3:50Speaker 3: get slowed down? And there's actually we get clocked on that,
- 3:54Speaker 3: so there's data for us to look at if we're
- 3:56Speaker 3: not doing a good job.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So what's the margin of error though missing that spot?
- 4:00Speaker 1: How often does that happen pretty often.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I mean, those guys will get on you right, they're like,
- 4:05Speaker 3: just stop on the rail you know, we have like
- 4:07Speaker 3: two train tracks they call them. So it's just like
- 4:10Speaker 3: it's just like you know, a plane or whatever, Like
- 4:12Speaker 3: you're just trying to get on the mark. So yeah,
- 4:15Speaker 3: we're just trying to get those two railroad tracks, like
- 4:18Speaker 3: both sides of the tires.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Is it a penalty if you don't get on inside the.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Mark only if you're only if you're right front tires
- 4:26Speaker 3: outside the pit box. So yeah, there's like a white line. Yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 3: I know you'd have to be pretty off for that.
- 4:32Speaker 3: But if you're coming around another car, like sometimes you
- 4:35Speaker 3: can be outside the box and like they'll get really
- 4:37Speaker 3: pissed at you cause they're like you'll be parked in
- 4:40Speaker 3: front of them and they can't get out of It's
- 4:42Speaker 3: like parallel parking.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It's similar, dude, speaking of penalties, I know Hamlin he
- 4:47Speaker 2: took home the checker flag this past weekend, but there
- 4:50Speaker 2: was a bit of a scuffle, a bit of a
- 4:51Speaker 2: snaffoo that took place about I don't know if it
- 4:54Speaker 2: was him Starting early, I don't pretend to know everything
- 4:57Speaker 2: about NASCAR, but I know a couple of people I
- 4:59Speaker 2: think I don't know if it was the start of
- 5:00Speaker 2: the race or it was like in the middle of
- 5:02Speaker 2: the race, but he started early between these lines, which,
- 5:06Speaker 2: by the way, one thing I learned more than anything
- 5:08Speaker 2: else at being at NASCAR this weekend was the amount
- 5:11Speaker 2: of rules that take place. You go in that tent.
- 5:13Speaker 2: People are like, we're sitting here as people that we're
- 5:16Speaker 2: doing the Grand Marshal, and then I'm sitting next to
- 5:18Speaker 2: ray Lann who's doing the national anthem, and they got
- 5:20Speaker 2: a whole thing like, drivers, here are the rules if
- 5:22Speaker 2: your vision's impeded or you lose something like get off
- 5:24Speaker 2: the track, like all the things of dos and do nots.
- 5:27Speaker 2: But they talk about the line of when you can
- 5:29Speaker 2: go and when not, and Denny, am I saying that correctly? Yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 2: he goes and it apparently starts early, and a lot
- 5:34Speaker 2: of people are feeling pretty tired about that. Do you
- 5:37Speaker 2: know that's happening during the race. Are they telling you, hey,
- 5:40Speaker 2: this son of a bitch started a little early, we
- 5:42Speaker 2: need to get his ass, or like, what is the
- 5:45Speaker 2: game plan? Then?
- 5:46Speaker 3: So I think I came on the radio when he
- 5:48Speaker 3: pulled off for to serve as penalty, like you have
- 5:51Speaker 3: to pit under green and do a pass through. So
- 5:54Speaker 3: when he peeled off, I was like, didn't he go early?
- 5:57Speaker 4: Like it?
- 5:57Speaker 3: Because I started eighth and I was like, not like
- 6:00Speaker 3: I was sleeping. I was like, oh, he went, yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 3: here we go. So it was, uh, yeah, I think
- 6:05Speaker 3: he just I think he was excited, I guess, and
- 6:07Speaker 3: got going early.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you is there any like type of like
- 6:12Speaker 2: you say anything to him? Not you No, Like for.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Me, it didn't affect me because I'm like, I was
- 6:16Speaker 3: an eighth I'm like, well, as soon as he peeled
- 6:18Speaker 3: off for his penalty, I gained a spot, so I'm like, oh,
- 6:20Speaker 3: perfect other one one. So but yeah, for me, I
- 6:25Speaker 3: was just like kind of surprised because when he took off,
- 6:28Speaker 3: I was like, it did seem it did seem early,
- 6:31Speaker 3: like no one was ready for it. So there's not
- 6:33Speaker 3: really I guess there is a rule, which is what
- 6:35Speaker 3: we found out, and they've got it listed here. But
- 6:38Speaker 3: I guess you got to start in the restart zone.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I didn't know that either. I probably would have done
- 6:42Speaker 3: what he did at some point in my career, just
- 6:44Speaker 3: because you think at the start of the race the flag,
- 6:47Speaker 3: guy waves the green and you go. So you're just
- 6:50Speaker 3: kind of guessing.
- 6:51Speaker 1: So how many times do y'all go over the rules?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Because like in the NFL, we had that same problem too.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's so many rules. We really don't know the rules
- 7:00Speaker 1: until like someone tells us the rules.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So I'll be honest, I tune out most of that
- 7:05Speaker 3: driver's meeting because I should know the rules.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Like we're gonna cut that, we're get out of there.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Then we're not going to have that on the show.
- 7:14Speaker 3: We're sitting in our seats and they introduce you know,
- 7:16Speaker 3: all the all the guests and everything, and as soon
- 7:18Speaker 3: as that video comes on, I'm like start yawning. I'm like,
- 7:21Speaker 3: oh man, it's.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Just a video.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a video, And yeah, that's kind of when
- 7:26Speaker 3: I go into my zin, I'm like, get my little
- 7:28Speaker 3: mini nap in before the ras place. But if I
- 7:32Speaker 3: don't know the rules that by that point I probably don't.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I mean it's like new rules they always add, like
- 7:37Speaker 1: because we know the basics, right, we know the basics, Yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 1: we know. Something else comes in and they'd be like
- 7:44Speaker 1: you knew that rule, right, I'm like yeah, but I
- 7:47Speaker 1: didn't you know I'm like, definitely did not know that
- 7:50Speaker 1: rule for sure. Yeah, came out of the left field.
- 7:53Speaker 2: But you do all because for us, it's like every
- 7:56Speaker 2: week we would go over like what the stadium is? Like,
- 7:58Speaker 2: what is is it? Ground? Is a turf? These referees,
- 8:01Speaker 2: this is what they like to call this what to
- 8:02Speaker 2: let you kind of get away with right understanding the
- 8:04Speaker 2: rules and using to their advantage, where the coaches would
- 8:06Speaker 2: harp on.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It quite a bit.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Are there different rules per track, because I know every
- 8:10Speaker 2: track is different, Like I think Michigan is one of
- 8:13Speaker 2: the fastest tracks and all of Nascara, which we're playing,
- 8:15Speaker 2: we were playing driving in this weekend, and so is
- 8:18Speaker 2: there are there different rules from Michigan as opposed to
- 8:21Speaker 2: let this past weekend in Nashville.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Not so much between Nashville and Michigan, but between Michigan
- 8:27Speaker 3: and like Daytona. So at Daytona you can't pass someone
- 8:31Speaker 3: under the yellow line. So there's a there's a line
- 8:33Speaker 3: all the way around the track, and if you go
- 8:35Speaker 3: under that, it's dangerous, I guess so, like because the
- 8:39Speaker 3: track's not as paved down there, so it could cause
- 8:41Speaker 3: a big crash. So like in Michigan, we can go anywhere.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Like if if somebody blocks you all the way down
- 8:46Speaker 3: to the bottom, like you just keep going lower to
- 8:48Speaker 3: get under it.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You just keep going.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, you just like if they keep blocking you, you're
- 8:52Speaker 3: just like, I'm I'm just taking the real estate. So
- 8:54Speaker 3: in Daytona you'd have to stop with.
- 8:56Speaker 1: That yellow line. Is that where all the gravel is
- 8:58Speaker 1: being kicked to.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Pretty exactly all the debris and so like if you
- 9:02Speaker 3: like at Daytona, if you go low down the back stretch,
- 9:05Speaker 3: that the part of that track is like super bumpy.
- 9:08Speaker 3: It's like car could.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Are you saying you're not getting as much grip too
- 9:11Speaker 1: as when you're trying to come back, because it's like
- 9:13Speaker 1: almost like a sling shot, right you go in and
- 9:16Speaker 1: swing back up. Correct.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yeah, So if you were like if you went under
- 9:19Speaker 3: the yellow line at Daytona and then tried to get
- 9:21Speaker 3: back up for the corner, like it could cause a big,
- 9:23Speaker 3: a big crash. So that's that's a big reason for
- 9:26Speaker 3: that rule.
- 9:27Speaker 2: He said, when you said slingshot, it remind me of
- 9:30Speaker 2: none other than the great one of the greatest movies
- 9:31Speaker 2: of all time, which is Talladega Knights. We had two
- 9:34Speaker 2: individuals on this buster last week Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Ryan Blaney was like, yeah, you know, solid movie. Whatever,
- 9:40Speaker 2: Bubble Wallace disgrace to the game. He called it disgrace
- 9:43Speaker 2: to the game. I want to just know your opinion
- 9:46Speaker 2: on Talladega Knights because I watched that and I'm like
- 9:50Speaker 2: that favorite part is the end of the movie.
- 9:52Speaker 3: As a purist, yeah, the end of the movie gets
- 9:55Speaker 3: a little off. It's kind of like the second Happy
- 9:58Speaker 3: Go More. It kind of just goes all at the end.
- 10:01Speaker 3: But uh so, I don't know. I feel like as
- 10:04Speaker 3: a purist, I feel like it's not the best representation
- 10:07Speaker 3: of the sport. But I will say when you go
- 10:09Speaker 3: to Talladega, which we go there twice a year, it's
- 10:11Speaker 3: not that different, like like the boulevard, like there's I mean,
- 10:17Speaker 3: there's like all kinds of stuff on the.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Just please be eighteen head right right there. So I was,
- 10:29Speaker 2: how was like Daytona so different? Like I guess the
- 10:31Speaker 2: difference is like that's clearly the mecca you guys race
- 10:33Speaker 2: at the beginning of the year, and then Nashville, Like
- 10:36Speaker 2: I thought the environment was awesome when we got there.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Your boy was able to get on the mic we
- 10:40Speaker 2: had fun. We heard some cheers in the bag like.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Yeah, how was that? By the way, I was so
- 10:43Speaker 3: I don't hear you guys like that question. We had
- 10:46Speaker 3: the ear muff soon. But I'm seeing the screen and
- 10:48Speaker 3: I'm like, like, man, they're they're getting into it. Yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 3: you guys had the American flag and everything.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Just trying to do the best we can for them,
- 10:55Speaker 2: the beautiful patriots out there. Man, sitting and watching laps
- 10:57Speaker 2: go by.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Dude.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Uh, one of the most nervous I've ever been in
- 11:00Speaker 2: my life because it's basically like, hey, you guys have
- 11:03Speaker 2: four words to say, and you're sharing it with your boy.
- 11:05Speaker 2: So in my brain it's like you obviously go to
- 11:07Speaker 2: Kevin James. Right, gentlemen, I got three words to say.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You know, God, bless our troops, God bless our God,
- 11:12Speaker 2: bless America, and gentleman, start your engines. And so I'm
- 11:15Speaker 2: sitting there like when when Klumpy comes over to me
- 11:17Speaker 2: and he's like, I got cool news for you. You're going
- 11:19Speaker 2: to be the Grand Marshal in at Nationale super Speedway.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I'm like, juice to the gills. First excitement you go
- 11:27Speaker 2: to bed for one night. Now anxiety starts to hit
- 11:29Speaker 2: the hell yeah, dude, And we did a dry run.
- 11:34Speaker 2: My dry one was nice, dude. My dry run was
- 11:36Speaker 2: like he lets it. He lets his boy shine when
- 11:42Speaker 2: he needs to shine a little bit, right, But then
- 11:44Speaker 2: he gets into this thing like crazy. So to answer
- 11:47Speaker 2: your question, like that was as nervous as you get
- 11:50Speaker 2: for a football game. But I was, yo, Yeah, I
- 11:52Speaker 2: was talking to you before and I'm like, hey, what
- 11:55Speaker 2: are your nerves like? And you're talking like, hey, the
- 11:57Speaker 2: first five to ten laps, you're kind of feeling out
- 11:59Speaker 2: how how competitive you are, which was such a unique
- 12:02Speaker 2: thought process to me because in my brain and I'm
- 12:04Speaker 2: sure and Delaney like, as a football player, you think
- 12:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna be the guy that changes the outcome of
- 12:08Speaker 2: whether or not we like you think you're the man
- 12:10Speaker 2: like main character syndrome is so relevant in football. And
- 12:14Speaker 2: you're sitting there like, yeah, ten to fifteen laps, I'll
- 12:16Speaker 2: figure out how competitive I am. You're starting an eighth
- 12:18Speaker 2: Like the whole thing like where do when does the
- 12:21Speaker 2: anxiety or the competitive nature takeover? Or like any of
- 12:25Speaker 2: those like butterfly type of feelings happened before, during, or
- 12:28Speaker 2: after a race.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say like an hour before the race,
- 12:31Speaker 3: you're kind of thinking about You're starting to get that
- 12:33Speaker 3: anxious feeling of what's going to happen today. I just
- 12:36Speaker 3: feel like in our sport, there's so much you do
- 12:38Speaker 3: for four hours of that's in your control that it's
- 12:41Speaker 3: like it's almost not worth thinking about, like the nerves
- 12:44Speaker 3: of it, because you're like, man, the quicker, I can
- 12:47Speaker 3: get into a rhythm. The quicker, I'm going to make
- 12:49Speaker 3: better decisions. So it's like, you know, I used to
- 12:52Speaker 3: get really nervous about like the first lap or things
- 12:54Speaker 3: like that, but it's you know, you just know that
- 12:56Speaker 3: you have so many decisions over four hundred miles that
- 13:00Speaker 3: you're like, there's no sense in really getting two worked
- 13:02Speaker 3: up about the first one.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, So and you're saying that with the four
- 13:06Speaker 1: hundred miles, does it really matter where you're placed when
- 13:09Speaker 1: the race starts.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Then you want to have a good start, but no,
- 13:12Speaker 3: like it doesn't like look at Denny this week. You
- 13:15Speaker 3: know he got a penalty the first lap, and I mean,
- 13:17Speaker 3: you'd like to start the race as good as possible though,
- 13:20Speaker 3: because you have stage points and there's a lot of
- 13:22Speaker 3: points on the line early in the race. So yeah,
- 13:26Speaker 3: but it's just I think I look at it as
- 13:27Speaker 3: like there's so many decisions that you just want to
- 13:30Speaker 3: try to find your kind of comfortable space and just
- 13:32Speaker 3: get into his own dude.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Blaney and Wallace were kind of breaking down for us,
- 13:36Speaker 2: how a third or third to third, like there's kind
- 13:38Speaker 2: of three points in the race where you can grab points. Yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 2: and is there do you do you have an understanding
- 13:44Speaker 2: of when those laps are and if you're in a
- 13:47Speaker 2: I guess the eleventh spot. I'm assuming it goes like
- 13:49Speaker 2: one to ten, you get a certain amount of points
- 13:50Speaker 2: ten to twenty and so on and so forth. Is
- 13:53Speaker 2: there like a level in the in that race that
- 13:55Speaker 2: you're pressing in that first third that's second third, and
- 13:58Speaker 2: of course like they'd be end of the race, Like
- 14:00Speaker 2: I got to make sure I can get up for
- 14:01Speaker 2: these points.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so the top ten get points, so like, okay,
- 14:05Speaker 3: it's only the only top ten, So like every time
- 14:07Speaker 3: you cross it's three times.
- 14:10Speaker 2: This racer was like on the ninety first.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Left, yeah, and then like one and then three hundred.
- 14:15Speaker 3: But I look at it. I don't know how all
- 14:17Speaker 3: guys look at it, but I look at every stage
- 14:20Speaker 3: is kind of a race end. It's kind of like
- 14:22Speaker 3: a practice race end. So you're you're if you're in
- 14:24Speaker 3: the top ten, like you're racing your heart out to
- 14:26Speaker 3: try to get stage points. And then if you're behind that,
- 14:29Speaker 3: you're kind of like, Okay, I have a chance to
- 14:31Speaker 3: work on it, adjust and get better. But I look
- 14:34Speaker 3: at every every third as kind of like a race end. Yeah, is.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Between the race ending on Sunday and now it is
- 14:44Speaker 2: Wednesday when we're filming this, how many legos have you
- 14:47Speaker 2: put together between them and.
- 14:48Speaker 3: The man not in a while? Really back in the
- 14:52Speaker 3: Lego zen mode, I feel like I was. I feel
- 14:55Speaker 3: like I was really into it. I've been golfing a lot.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I play a lot of golf, so I go the
- 15:00Speaker 3: range of hit balls. It's kind of my it's kind
- 15:02Speaker 3: of my space, my comfort space. But yeah, I need to.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I need to.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I gotta be honest. That kind of breaks my heart
- 15:08Speaker 2: a little bit because we were watching a video yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 2: yesterday and this morning, and then this Titanic got popped
- 15:14Speaker 2: up here. I'm in Park City, Utah with my two
- 15:16Speaker 2: kids and my wife, and I see this at a
- 15:18Speaker 2: Lego store in the airport, and I get this like
- 15:21Speaker 2: rose Kate Winslet, like that was the first time in
- 15:25Speaker 2: my life. I'm like, I know what side of the
- 15:27Speaker 2: fence I'm on on this whole thing. One of the
- 15:28Speaker 2: best movies I've personally ever seen. And to this day
- 15:31Speaker 2: I'll be like, Yo, Titanic rips and for you to
- 15:33Speaker 2: build that thing incredible.
- 15:34Speaker 3: I used to the tips of my fingers were destroyed
- 15:38Speaker 3: and it took three weeks and like I would stop
- 15:41Speaker 3: for a day or so like reflect. But I mean
- 15:43Speaker 3: that's a three part thing. So you build the back
- 15:46Speaker 3: in the middle and it was it was nine thousand pieces.
- 15:50Speaker 3: You just do it was destroyed.
- 15:51Speaker 2: You just get in a flow state mode. Yeah, you know,
- 15:53Speaker 2: three weeks you're just ripping that thing up.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Like nothing, nothing touches you. Like you're in this You're
- 15:58Speaker 3: buried in the book and you're like there's stuff going
- 16:00Speaker 3: on around you. You don't even you don't even know.
- 16:02Speaker 1: You don't kids, do you know?
- 16:04Speaker 3: I don't like I got three weeks to do that.
- 16:07Speaker 1: It's been three years.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I still haven't finish mine. I get back on that
- 16:12Speaker 2: thing because I think that I think that's sick.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a little bit of lego fatigue after
- 16:17Speaker 3: that one. But I think I'm gonna I think I'm
- 16:19Speaker 3: gonna build something else.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Can you see in the inside is any way
- 16:23Speaker 1: that it's like structure in the inside as well as.
- 16:27Speaker 3: The engines, like the engine compartments are all built in
- 16:30Speaker 3: that back third, so there's like there's actual like and
- 16:33Speaker 3: there's bedrooms and stuff. And I saw a guy on
- 16:36Speaker 3: Amazon or they sell him on Amazon, you could buy
- 16:38Speaker 3: lights for the outside, so that I never got into
- 16:41Speaker 3: that part, but maybe one guy had him lit up
- 16:44Speaker 3: and he had it in his bathtub. I was like, bro,
- 16:47Speaker 3: that's a little.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Really taking your claim a little bit on that.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Yeah, he had it.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Floating and it was like a simulation. I was like,
- 16:58Speaker 3: I was like, oh, maybe I should do that. Yeah,
- 17:00Speaker 3: I think there it is. See that one kind of middle.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Go down down, you go to the right right there.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Yeah that's in a bathtub.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Well that one's not, but I think, yeah, yeah, it's crazy.
- 17:17Speaker 2: You can hear the all those guys in the violins
- 17:20Speaker 2: playing that song down just by looking at that photo.
- 17:24Speaker 2: You're like, oh, no, the.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Little ships to what are the little dingy boats on?
- 17:30Speaker 1: They had the dings on there too.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So you're thinking about getting back into it. What is
- 17:38Speaker 2: what's your grail? What's your lego grail?
- 17:40Speaker 1: Oh?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Man, I just I think building like the Colosseum would
- 17:44Speaker 3: be cool. They came out with that a little a
- 17:46Speaker 3: little bit ago, but I don't know. Yeah, they got
- 17:48Speaker 3: the Eiffel Tower. Look at this guy. He yeah, this
- 17:52Speaker 3: guy's he did a great job.
- 17:57Speaker 2: It's crazy like you, he did a great job. It's
- 17:58Speaker 2: like there's literally it shows you every single piece to
- 18:00Speaker 2: put all super This one goes right here, next page, Taylor,
- 18:08Speaker 2: I'm sure you're gonna miss some pieces. Poster site. People
- 18:14Speaker 2: like you didn'tet him, Like if you only knew about
- 18:15Speaker 2: the sixteen pieces. Yeah, the ad D takes over. Dude,
- 18:20Speaker 2: we are you familiar with football at all? It's okay, Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 2: football Orgon Ducks, Dan Landing the head coach.
- 18:26Speaker 3: We went he's a little psycho.
- 18:27Speaker 2: He is a little psycho. A little psycho is nuts
- 18:33Speaker 2: right there. I love that though, because he is a psycho.
- 18:37Speaker 1: We went to his.
- 18:38Speaker 2: House and one of his kids was literally working on
- 18:40Speaker 2: a different script from Minecraft because he didn't the movie
- 18:44Speaker 2: wasn't good enough for him, so he was writing a
- 18:45Speaker 2: different script for kids like ten years old.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:47Speaker 2: And he you look over in the corner and he
- 18:49Speaker 2: had a full setup of Hogwarts like through legos and
- 18:53Speaker 2: it was completely built out.
- 18:54Speaker 3: It was like the the building up on the hill, right.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Building on the hill, the towers that we beat Willow.
- 19:00Speaker 2: It was do we can we pull that up real quick?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Because I thought when I saw that, I was like,
- 19:04Speaker 2: this kid's special.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Wow.
- 19:06Speaker 2: He had a little background taking care of it and
- 19:08Speaker 2: everything too. Yeah, how was that?
- 19:10Speaker 1: Did he build it hisself or did he pay they
- 19:12Speaker 1: pay somebody to building?
- 19:13Speaker 2: Okay rich.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Some people, you know, some people say I built it.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah exactly. He's just like, yeah, but get it done
- 19:24Speaker 2: for me. Oh dude, I see you're rocking the uh
- 19:29Speaker 2: the Hurricanes tough loss watching you scored twenty five seconds
- 19:33Speaker 2: into the game.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Nikishin had a shot at the end of the game
- 19:37Speaker 3: that that was going in back in that Yeah, six
- 19:41Speaker 3: seconds left they put him in for that shot. Yeah,
- 19:44Speaker 3: and he shoots a laser and uh, what's his name?
- 19:47Speaker 3: Mitch Martin blocks it with his shin, which had to hurt,
- 19:50Speaker 3: no doubt. You see, he was walking off. He's like,
- 19:53Speaker 3: have you seen You've.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Seen some of those YouTube videos these guys that like
- 19:55Speaker 2: lay in front of pucks the skatal break and they'll
- 19:58Speaker 2: just keep like limping out there and using their he
- 20:00Speaker 2: as a rag doll.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Where is that crazy?
- 20:04Speaker 2: Because to me, like my dad, he grew up in Minnesota,
- 20:06Speaker 2: I grew up in Arizona. Yeah, so he was always
- 20:09Speaker 2: like putting us on hockey and we would go to
- 20:10Speaker 2: a lot of Coyotes games. And I was always thinking
- 20:12Speaker 2: to myself, like, this is like the most fun sport
- 20:14Speaker 2: to watch live. Football there's a lot of breaks that
- 20:16Speaker 2: take place. Nascar is also another one you can watch
- 20:19Speaker 2: live and a little enjoy. But like, is hockey for
- 20:21Speaker 2: you like the number one sport you enjoy ingesting?
- 20:24Speaker 3: I think so. I think so because so the backstory
- 20:27Speaker 3: when it's like my dad and I would go up
- 20:29Speaker 3: there when I was six years old, so like twenty
- 20:31Speaker 3: years ago. We have some pictures of when we went
- 20:34Speaker 3: up there, and I think I just I played the
- 20:37Speaker 3: NHL games on PlayStation and I love this and I
- 20:40Speaker 3: was like, you could like pass the puck around and
- 20:43Speaker 3: and I think I just got hooked on it. I
- 20:44Speaker 3: just started watching it. It's definitely a sport in person,
- 20:48Speaker 3: you know, is way better than on TV because it's
- 20:50Speaker 3: hard to follow on TV, but in person, like it's
- 20:54Speaker 3: cold in there. It's like, you know, it's just nice, like.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Nice, like he come like the flowing yeah, beers getting
- 21:01Speaker 2: getting after it a little bit.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Everyone's like got chance, like they hate the refs, like
- 21:05Speaker 3: people bring in the eye charts like refuse suck and
- 21:09Speaker 3: all these things. So it's just I don't know, it's
- 21:11Speaker 3: exciting in person.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I think, have you been to one of our matches
- 21:14Speaker 1: here against your team Predators.
- 21:17Speaker 3: I've been in a couple of games.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I love you called it a match. I do the
- 21:19Speaker 2: same thing.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Yeah, they have the catfish out there, which is for
- 21:24Speaker 3: someone to like like bring that in? Is do you
- 21:27Speaker 3: did that?
- 21:28Speaker 2: I've done that.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yes, did you bring that in?
- 21:30Speaker 2: Like on your Yeah, I'm really about theatrix.
- 21:34Speaker 1: This is he took a bear out of it.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, catfish lose. You didn't come out of its mouth.
- 21:41Speaker 2: But definitely come on.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I don't know if.
- 21:44Speaker 2: This is no, but you it's kind of like one
- 21:47Speaker 2: of those you're letting it wash all over your face.
- 21:49Speaker 2: You're not really trying to put as much in you.
- 21:52Speaker 2: That's a different one, but dude, yeah hard the Preds
- 21:56Speaker 2: go hard, and I love how the South is just
- 21:58Speaker 2: like embrace, like a northern sport. Because the Detroit wed
- 22:03Speaker 2: Wings they were the first ones. They did the Octopus.
- 22:06Speaker 2: That's when they would make it to the playoffs. The
- 22:07Speaker 2: octopus so far. So the Predators was was an expansion
- 22:11Speaker 2: team like the late nineties, early two thousands is right
- 22:13Speaker 2: around the when the Titans came in and uh they
- 22:17Speaker 2: took the Catfish and it's awesome, dude, like they just
- 22:19Speaker 2: they launched those boys. Peta has an absolute ship fit
- 22:22Speaker 2: every single time the Pedators make the playoffs. It's nuts. Man.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Did you ever you play NHL hits?
- 22:28Speaker 3: No? That was before. Was that kind of like blitz
- 22:31Speaker 3: and it was hockey?
- 22:33Speaker 1: I think the debate.
- 22:34Speaker 2: This is it right here. Yeah, this is me. That's
- 22:36Speaker 2: that's big boy Taylor right there. I'm not the guy that.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Could not have tasted.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I have a newborn child too during this time, so
- 22:48Speaker 2: you see where my priorities are at in that situation.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Not not the best in the world, but yeah, it's
- 22:54Speaker 2: so much fun. It is a great time. We interup
- 22:58Speaker 2: episode to bring you Form Energy for our Energy delivers
- 23:00Speaker 2: best in class taste with natural flavors and zero sugar.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Form Energy has natural caffeine derived from green tea comes
- 23:06Speaker 2: in a variety of flavors as well. We're talking about
- 23:08Speaker 2: screen and Freedom, Grape Smash, Blue Blitz, Orange Fury, a
- 23:10Speaker 2: couple more on the horizon. If you squinch your eyes
- 23:13Speaker 2: and look into the sun, you can see those beautiful
- 23:15Speaker 2: boys that taste them and they are delicious form energy.
- 23:18Speaker 2: We do the work back to the episode.
- 23:22Speaker 1: You talk about gaming, and you know, we know that
- 23:24Speaker 1: you was a Sam guy. Yeah, how did that go
- 23:27Speaker 1: about you being a Sam guy, not really being in
- 23:29Speaker 1: racing and then getting into this world just off Sam.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it was definitely a lot of like I heard
- 23:36Speaker 3: you say, imposter syndrome. I had a lot of that
- 23:38Speaker 3: growing up because I like I grew up in a
- 23:40Speaker 3: totally different way than my peers. So yeah, I was
- 23:43Speaker 3: just a huge fan of racing, like watched cars go around.
- 23:47Speaker 3: You loved like collecting little die cast cars, and eventually
- 23:51Speaker 3: that led to SEM racing because it was like I mean,
- 23:54Speaker 3: first it started just racing video games, like racing the
- 23:56Speaker 3: NASCAR video games, and then you know, then it was
- 23:59Speaker 3: like man sim racing. Like I heard I heard Dale
- 24:02Speaker 3: Junior at the time talk about it and he was
- 24:05Speaker 3: like the sim racing is getting like really accurate. So
- 24:07Speaker 3: as a fan, I was like, well, I want to
- 24:09Speaker 3: get on that and see see what that's like. So
- 24:12Speaker 3: that's how it started, honestly, and then just just got
- 24:15Speaker 3: really into it started, you know, winning races on there
- 24:17Speaker 3: and and doing well and that's kind of what set
- 24:20Speaker 3: up my career.
- 24:21Speaker 1: What was your first rig, like the first first one.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I know you probably got a crazy rig right now,
- 24:25Speaker 1: but what was your first rig?
- 24:26Speaker 3: Like, Yeah, I just had a little desk setup. So
- 24:29Speaker 3: I had a little HP laptop and like literally just
- 24:32Speaker 3: a wheel and pedals.
- 24:34Speaker 1: That was it.
- 24:34Speaker 3: My sister would be yelling at me in the background,
- 24:36Speaker 3: like I'm trying to watch TV. Get was locked down.
- 24:43Speaker 1: You used to have it loud so you can't actually
- 24:45Speaker 1: get the feel of like you getting into turn, of breaking,
- 24:48Speaker 1: hearing the cars come up on side of you and
- 24:50Speaker 1: stuff like that.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Like I had a very small, like very small setup,
- 24:54Speaker 3: but I could feel everything through the wheel and I
- 24:57Speaker 3: don't know it just like one thing after another. I
- 24:59Speaker 3: would just raise on there every afternoon, like all summer.
- 25:02Speaker 3: That's all that's all I did. Like I was just racing.
- 25:04Speaker 2: When you're when you're doing that, how long until you
- 25:07Speaker 2: get like one of the most I think, the greatest
- 25:09Speaker 2: sports team, best NASCAR team. Hendricks like, yeah, this might
- 25:12Speaker 2: be our guy. Yeah, he's pretty good on this simulatory
- 25:15Speaker 2: it's not too bad. Let's see he does in a realm.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I want to I'm trying like it.
- 25:23Speaker 2: If you were a NASCAR driver, that'd be sick.
- 25:25Speaker 3: So that little setup there looks like that girl is driving.
- 25:28Speaker 3: If you zoom out a little bit, uh chef, that's
- 25:31Speaker 3: basically what I had down. Like it was even smaller
- 25:34Speaker 3: than that, but that's basically what I was doing.
- 25:36Speaker 2: No way. Yeah, and you look at this and you're like, wow,
- 25:39Speaker 2: I'm going pretty fast. You don't feel any of those things.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Well, you know, you just feel everything through the wheel,
- 25:44Speaker 3: and then your eyes track everything, so your eyes get
- 25:47Speaker 3: used to like tracking like where the grip is, and like, yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 3: it's just different. I mean it. Yeah, it's kind of
- 25:53Speaker 3: wild to think about. But you win pro off that
- 25:56Speaker 3: seven years later, yeah, seven or eight.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Seven only seven years yeah, seven or eight years. You
- 26:01Speaker 2: had to be murking cast yes on the scene.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I mean it was the sim was really the start
- 26:07Speaker 3: of it. And then I started to win races like
- 26:09Speaker 3: in legend cars. I won thirty three races my first
- 26:12Speaker 3: year in Legend cars and then I mean mister Hendrick
- 26:16Speaker 3: didn't call me until I was eighteen and a half.
- 26:18Speaker 3: You know, it was July of my yeah year in
- 26:21Speaker 3: truck Series, so it was twenty sixteen, and he he
- 26:24Speaker 3: called me and was like, but that was a totally
- 26:27Speaker 3: that was unexpected. Like I just had to do a
- 26:30Speaker 3: lot of racing to get to that point.
- 26:31Speaker 1: And so how did they get you in the door?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Like what was how was? How did that look? Like?
- 26:35Speaker 1: So you sim racing you at the top top ten,
- 26:39Speaker 1: how do they get you in the door to do
- 26:40Speaker 1: a test run to even see if you're capable to
- 26:43Speaker 1: drive a real car? Yeah, at that speed.
- 26:45Speaker 3: So that's where like growing up in Charlotte was a
- 26:47Speaker 3: big deal. So I was really fortunate that I grew up.
- 26:50Speaker 3: You know, we're kind of racing as the capital for
- 26:54Speaker 3: in Charlotte. So I went up to Concord Speedway and
- 26:57Speaker 3: did like a test drive in a legend car, and
- 26:59Speaker 3: like that was it. Like literally went up there testro
- 27:02Speaker 3: of a legend car, got to know a couple of
- 27:05Speaker 3: the crew chiefs that were working on them, and like
- 27:08Speaker 3: started to race a couple of times, but that was
- 27:11Speaker 3: the start of it.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Did you run a good heat? They put them there
- 27:14Speaker 1: up there on your practice run?
- 27:15Speaker 3: Was there had?
- 27:16Speaker 1: Like?
- 27:17Speaker 3: So there was a There was a couple guys that
- 27:20Speaker 3: were racing dirt at the time, like dirt go carts,
- 27:22Speaker 3: and I got in the legend car and I was
- 27:25Speaker 3: like the I think the lap time to beat was
- 27:27Speaker 3: like nineteen seventy and I ran a seventeen seventy and
- 27:32Speaker 3: they were there and they were like, I mean the
- 27:34Speaker 3: pro guy, the guy who raced legend cars was running
- 27:36Speaker 3: sixteen eighties. But I was like, only like a few
- 27:39Speaker 3: tenths off.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Being honest, how many times have you ran that track
- 27:42Speaker 1: on sealm?
- 27:43Speaker 3: Never?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Never?
- 27:44Speaker 3: It was just we're talking like a fifth mile like
- 27:47Speaker 3: behind behind a dirt road like behind the racetrack, wow, yeah,
- 27:52Speaker 3: or on a dirt road behind the racetrack, like it
- 27:54Speaker 3: was just a paved fifth mile track. And got out
- 27:57Speaker 3: there and.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Y'all using like Yamaha motors like basically zookies and stuff.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, like twelve fifties.
- 28:04Speaker 1: It was.
- 28:05Speaker 3: It was a legend like, yeah, that was right there.
- 28:08Speaker 1: They us like street bike motors or something like that.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Does he find the stuff? Yeah, there's me on the pole.
- 28:13Speaker 3: This was I was probably I crashed in this race,
- 28:16Speaker 3: actually crashed the second place guy.
- 28:19Speaker 2: But you crushed him or you crushed both, y'alls.
- 28:21Speaker 3: It was a little bit of both.
- 28:23Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 28:24Speaker 3: He kind of held me tight and I kind of
- 28:26Speaker 3: washed up. But this is us racing for the lead.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I was fifteen. Yep, yeah, you was fifteen years old
- 28:32Speaker 3: right here.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I a license, he didn't have a permit yet. And
- 28:35Speaker 2: there's let him rip around.
- 28:36Speaker 1: So did you do a dirt racing two with the
- 28:39Speaker 1: big tire little tire?
- 28:40Speaker 3: I didn't, only asphalt. I wish I had done some dirt,
- 28:43Speaker 3: but yeah, this is us race, race on for the win.
- 28:49Speaker 3: That was That was crazy.
- 28:50Speaker 1: These are the fun ones right here. Would like yeah,
- 28:53Speaker 1: you would like that.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I'm telling you honestly, like I've only been in this
- 28:57Speaker 2: game for a week or so and just knowing about
- 29:00Speaker 2: the go carts this now being at the racing, how
- 29:04Speaker 2: fast everything goes. We did a lap in one of
- 29:07Speaker 2: those Mustangs, the pace car, and I got I got
- 29:10Speaker 2: myself off the one fife. I love it a little bit,
- 29:13Speaker 2: so I felt very comfortable in the driver's seat. But
- 29:17Speaker 2: with Will drove, I was shitting myself. I was so
- 29:20Speaker 2: I was so incredibly nervous.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Yeah, because I don't know, oh there's oh wait, there's
- 29:25Speaker 3: that's yeah. So so yeah, we we came together and
- 29:30Speaker 3: I spawn and he yeah, he flipped over. That was
- 29:32Speaker 3: a bad night. But he was Yeah, they.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Roll cage and everything and those things, so so he
- 29:38Speaker 1: probably he was fine.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, we actually like we raced really well together
- 29:42Speaker 3: and he uh, it was just one of those racing deals.
- 29:45Speaker 2: So what was it like the first time you went
- 29:47Speaker 2: from SIM you go to these legend trucks and like
- 29:49Speaker 2: you're going like you're going I don't want to say
- 29:52Speaker 2: fake fast, but you're virtually going fast to going actually
- 29:55Speaker 2: fast where you can feel the energy, you actually feel
- 29:57Speaker 2: the car moving, you feel everything actually moving moving around.
- 30:00Speaker 1: He kind of got up on your tire and just flip.
- 30:04Speaker 2: How how was that? Like, were there any nerves there
- 30:06Speaker 2: or you feel like you've already done this a million times,
- 30:08Speaker 2: like this is this is? This is it?
- 30:11Speaker 3: The So you feel so much more in the car
- 30:15Speaker 3: than you do on the SIM obviously, but you like
- 30:17Speaker 3: feel it in the seat of your pants. So it's
- 30:19Speaker 3: like it's just the sensations you get are just massive
- 30:23Speaker 3: compared to the sim So it is honestly like exhilarating,
- 30:25Speaker 3: like you're getting so much sensory overload from driving a
- 30:29Speaker 3: car that I mean, the first couple of years I raced,
- 30:31Speaker 3: it was just like just sensory overload.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Lot of juices me up when you get the call
- 30:36Speaker 2: to NASCAR and you have like Bubba was talking about
- 30:40Speaker 2: the way he came up, Ryan his he was in
- 30:42Speaker 2: his family. Yeah, and so they kind of all grew
- 30:44Speaker 2: up racing. What is the perception of you to some
- 30:48Speaker 2: of these more traditionalist type of drivers, Like did you
- 30:51Speaker 2: you talk about impossibly? We kind of bounced that word
- 30:53Speaker 2: back and forth a little bit, like were they kind
- 30:56Speaker 2: of like scoffing at you, maybe a nose up and
- 30:58Speaker 2: in a little bit of way.
- 31:00Speaker 3: At first it was a lot of like man like
- 31:03Speaker 3: did he earn his way here? Like how did he
- 31:05Speaker 3: get here? You know? Who is this kid? So I
- 31:08Speaker 3: got a lot of that for a while, and and
- 31:10Speaker 3: like I'm I feel like I'm a pretty easy going dude.
- 31:12Speaker 3: So like I wasn't trying to like ruffle a lot
- 31:15Speaker 3: of feathers coming in, So I was just like trying
- 31:18Speaker 3: to sort of find my place in the sport, But uh,
- 31:21Speaker 3: there was definitely a lot of that growing up. I
- 31:22Speaker 3: think as soon as I got to the cup level
- 31:25Speaker 3: there was a lot less of that because I think
- 31:27Speaker 3: everyone has that mutual respect in the cup level that's like, hey,
- 31:31Speaker 3: everyone's gotten here in their own way, but they're all
- 31:33Speaker 3: they're all deserving. So once that, once I got to
- 31:36Speaker 3: that level, it kind of it changed. But I would
- 31:38Speaker 3: say going up through the ranks, it was definitely some
- 31:40Speaker 3: of that.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Did you feel like, was there ever in the beginning,
- 31:42Speaker 2: some dude that tested you you had to buck up
- 31:44Speaker 2: to a little bit, let him know who's.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Who in the zoo?
- 31:46Speaker 3: I mean definitely there There are a lot of sitting there.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I just imagine an old dusty tavern hanging out. Yeah,
- 31:55Speaker 2: sip of a sprite because you're not old enough to
- 31:57Speaker 2: drink yet, and something that walks up and goes you
- 31:58Speaker 2: think you can race?
- 32:00Speaker 3: Yeah, there is that exact thing.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Can we drop names.
- 32:04Speaker 2: We can't drop that.
- 32:05Speaker 3: I mean I don't want to drop names because I
- 32:07Speaker 3: don't even remember exactly. But there's a lot of like
- 32:09Speaker 3: intimidation at the late model track where you're like the kid,
- 32:13Speaker 3: the little kid, and they're like forty years old, like hey, dude,
- 32:16Speaker 3: like you gotta, you know, work on this thing. You
- 32:19Speaker 3: got to figure out like how you're gonna get to
- 32:21Speaker 3: this level. So there's a lot of that intimidation going on.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I'd be pretty intimidated if there was a sixteen year
- 32:26Speaker 2: old young buck and I was forty something still trying
- 32:28Speaker 2: to keep the dream alive. I mean here, there'll probably
- 32:30Speaker 2: be a little bit of a like, ah shit, this
- 32:32Speaker 2: kid's the truth and I'm out here still doing this.
- 32:35Speaker 3: There's definitely some tension, but it I mean, you just
- 32:38Speaker 3: earn respect by just racing hard and you know, doing
- 32:41Speaker 3: the right thing, like that's the only way you Our
- 32:43Speaker 3: sport is like that. It's it's kind of like what
- 32:45Speaker 3: have you done for me lately? And it's it's like
- 32:48Speaker 3: how are you on the track? That's how you're judged.
- 32:51Speaker 2: But it's a very good parallel to football. Yeah really,
- 32:56Speaker 2: oh absolutely. I mean NFL we all say in the
- 32:58Speaker 2: sense we're not for long. Yeah, It's like if you
- 33:00Speaker 2: had a good game this week, it's great, everyone's gonna
- 33:02Speaker 2: patch you on the ass. Yeah, you a bad one
- 33:04Speaker 2: next week, They're okay, you shit in our hand, Like
- 33:06Speaker 2: you need to be better. Everyone forgets twenty four hours
- 33:08Speaker 2: after a game, how you played unless you played bad,
- 33:11Speaker 2: and they want to bring it up unless it was him.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Yeah, no, they bring it in for me.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I'll tell you what this dude association this guy really.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I mean, they'll come to me before to me and
- 33:19Speaker 1: be like, hey, we're gonna just talk about that one
- 33:21Speaker 1: drop you had. I'm like, yeah, sure, go for it.
- 33:23Speaker 3: What I think is fascinating about y'all is like you
- 33:25Speaker 3: guys like shake hands, wap up after the after the game,
- 33:29Speaker 3: like and there's that respect, But you guys are going
- 33:32Speaker 3: at it super hard during the game and like, but
- 33:35Speaker 3: I guess, like there's just that respect. I have a
- 33:37Speaker 3: hard time understanding that as an outsider, Like you guys
- 33:40Speaker 3: are all like trading jerseys and stuff after.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Well, it's different. Like it'll be some guys we clash with,
- 33:46Speaker 1: we're not gonna shake their hand, We're probably not gonna
- 33:48Speaker 1: talk to them. But when we trade jerseys, it's either
- 33:51Speaker 1: someone we trained with, we know, we went to school
- 33:54Speaker 1: with him. Like because at the end of the day,
- 33:56Speaker 1: y'all not hearing everything we say. I mean, this guy
- 33:58Speaker 1: he stopped talking after a while, but he was crazy,
- 34:02Speaker 1: Like it's some players like they may not like Taylor
- 34:05Speaker 1: ever just because he talked, and it is it's like
- 34:09Speaker 1: I'm like you, I don't say much. I just show
- 34:12Speaker 1: you know, I'm gonna do my job and I'm not
- 34:14Speaker 1: gonna talk much and just you know, let them do
- 34:17Speaker 1: all the talking because at the end of the day,
- 34:19Speaker 1: it is a respect level, I think. But we are
- 34:21Speaker 1: going were playing against each other, like I may not
- 34:23Speaker 1: like you right now, but at the end of the game, like, dude,
- 34:27Speaker 1: it's a game.
- 34:27Speaker 3: It's a game.
- 34:28Speaker 1: It's a game. Like I almost shake your hand, you
- 34:30Speaker 1: can take pictures. I may be on your team next year.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Like let's be cool, you know.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I find that cool. I find that I wish we
- 34:37Speaker 3: had a little bit more of that in Nascar.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Why y'all don't though I don't get it jump over
- 34:41Speaker 2: on coms, dude, I think I think everyone's kind of
- 34:43Speaker 2: like got their teams right, Like you feel like you're
- 34:46Speaker 2: these little armies of like people.
- 34:48Speaker 3: You're like, well, I gotta I gotta look, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 3: good for my team. I gotta like represent and there's
- 34:53Speaker 3: no there's less of that like fraternity afterwards, where it's like, hey,
- 34:57Speaker 3: that was that was fun, Like joyed racing with you
- 35:00Speaker 3: or whatever is there.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Is there more of an expectation being with Hendrick Motorsports
- 35:03Speaker 2: of like how to dress, how to act like a
- 35:04Speaker 2: little more pr because Mitch is telling me like this,
- 35:07Speaker 2: you guys are essentially like the New England Patriots of
- 35:09Speaker 2: the sports or it's like yeah, yeah, yous are massive.
- 35:12Speaker 3: I think in a good way, like and I mean
- 35:14Speaker 3: that like I think I think in a way that
- 35:16Speaker 3: like there's a respect from that starts with mister Hendrick,
- 35:18Speaker 3: and it's kind of like this is the this is
- 35:21Speaker 3: the standard and you want to uphold that that standard
- 35:23Speaker 3: from him. So but I've never been like they've never
- 35:26Speaker 3: told me like, hey, chill out, like you're doing too much,
- 35:29Speaker 3: Like you're you're being too much of a which I'm
- 35:32Speaker 3: not really. That guy probably said you're such.
- 35:36Speaker 2: A well individuals strictly a nice guy.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Yeah, but I appreciate it.
- 35:41Speaker 2: You go to Michigan this weekend and you're like, call
- 35:43Speaker 2: some dude to pussy over the column, are you?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Closest is like me and Joey got into in twenty
- 35:49Speaker 3: twenty two and and you know they caught some audio
- 35:52Speaker 3: of being Jeff talking after the race and I was like,
- 35:54Speaker 3: you know, I said some choice things, but yeah, never
- 35:57Speaker 3: no one ever told me like chill out. I mean,
- 36:00Speaker 3: I think they they kind of welcome our passion for
- 36:03Speaker 3: the sport. But but yeah, I think within the drivers
- 36:06Speaker 3: there's definitely I think it's a little bit of ego
- 36:08Speaker 3: of like, hey, you know, I don't want to like
- 36:10Speaker 3: show all my cards, you know, after the race, Whereas
- 36:13Speaker 3: I think it's cool you guys like are just like, hey,
- 36:16Speaker 3: we just played our asses off and let's kind of,
- 36:19Speaker 3: you know, shake it out.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I think it's like a rule though in the NFL,
- 36:22Speaker 1: it's just like, yeah, we went out there trying to
- 36:23Speaker 1: knock your block off, but let's shake hands and you
- 36:27Speaker 1: know what I mean, let's let's try.
- 36:28Speaker 2: To keep the Peace's a gentleman aspect.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Yes, at the end, at the end, we're all kind.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Of playing characters for sixty minutes and then you finish,
- 36:35Speaker 2: and it's like, at least that's how in my brain
- 36:37Speaker 2: it was like I need to get this individual across
- 36:39Speaker 2: from me to make them only solely focus on me
- 36:42Speaker 2: and be mad at me so they don't think about
- 36:44Speaker 2: him or our quarterback or these types of things.
- 36:46Speaker 1: So to me, it was.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Like like a mental game of like I was always
- 36:51Speaker 2: considered I always consider myself like a high conditioned person
- 36:53Speaker 2: from being able to run for a long time. So
- 36:55Speaker 2: I would use my mouth to kind of like people's.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Minds like, yeah, you're already your heart rates not up,
- 37:01Speaker 3: so you don't need Like.
- 37:02Speaker 2: I don't need the Yeah, I wasn't think I needed
- 37:05Speaker 2: a rest, how to get a water catch my breath.
- 37:07Speaker 2: I was always like willing to go a little extra mile,
- 37:09Speaker 2: especially in conditioning because I was I'm tall, yeah, and
- 37:13Speaker 2: I'm I was a bigger guy. I was at three
- 37:15Speaker 2: h nine, But like there is dudes that were, you know,
- 37:17Speaker 2: three fifteen, three twenty three thirty that I would play
- 37:20Speaker 2: against sometimes. So it would be like by the fourth quarter,
- 37:23Speaker 2: you're going to be way more tired than I am,
- 37:24Speaker 2: and I'm going to make sure that you know X
- 37:26Speaker 2: Y and zah. Meanwhile, Delaney's got a grill in a
- 37:28Speaker 2: sick chain and he's he looks Lanne looks cool as shit.
- 37:33Speaker 3: I'm like, this.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Guy's the fucking man, you know.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Look at that dude.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I was, and this dude I love, Yeah, Willie,
- 37:45Speaker 2: let me tell you this buddy, Like he says, I
- 37:47Speaker 2: didn't talk very much. That's a bunch of bullshit, dude.
- 37:49Speaker 2: We would get in, we would get into locker rooms
- 37:52Speaker 2: and guys would would be drafted guys every single year
- 37:55Speaker 2: and there'd be an undrafted like a crew of like
- 37:56Speaker 2: fifteen people, and they would come over and just like
- 37:59Speaker 2: you're saying, mister Henx, we're going to figure his first
- 38:01Speaker 2: name in a little bit. But they would go up
- 38:03Speaker 2: to mister Walker over here, but it's pleasure to meet you.
- 38:05Speaker 2: This man played over a decade in the league. And
- 38:07Speaker 2: they would go to shake his hand and Delenda would
- 38:09Speaker 2: just look up at them and be like, get out.
- 38:11Speaker 2: You know. He'd be like, get out, Like I don't.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I'll learn your name when you make the team.
- 38:14Speaker 3: You know.
- 38:15Speaker 2: He would tell guys that they suck to their faces.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's a hundred, it's a hundred of us.
- 38:20Speaker 1: You want me to learn your name? You may not
- 38:22Speaker 1: be here tomorrow, so good hey play hard?
- 38:30Speaker 3: Yeah, like come on my respect? Yeah yeah if you like?
- 38:35Speaker 1: Do you like? Okay? I hate losing. Now if I
- 38:38Speaker 1: got to do it, I feel like it's not helping
- 38:40Speaker 1: this team. Why is he out? You got to get
- 38:43Speaker 1: him out? Yeah? We burn the grass to find the snakes. Yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 1: he legit.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I wore a choker and you're about to tell that
- 38:56Speaker 3: reporter that.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Oh no, because we just beat the Browns and they
- 39:02Speaker 1: everyone said they was going to the super Bowl that year.
- 39:04Speaker 1: We blew their ass out first game of the season.
- 39:07Speaker 1: And I was like, I literally hit him with the
- 39:10Speaker 1: cors like commercial, crown him. If you want to crown them,
- 39:13Speaker 1: you still got to play football. That is so good.
- 39:19Speaker 2: That is the hell of it.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Yeah, they are who we thought they were. Yeah, who
- 39:22Speaker 1: they are who we thought they were.
- 39:24Speaker 2: My first interaction with Delaney ye walking through the locker
- 39:27Speaker 2: about to go out to the to the outdoor for
- 39:29Speaker 2: like a Friday Is it the first time like the
- 39:31Speaker 2: rookies and the bets I came together. And I started
- 39:33Speaker 2: walking by, and I'm like aware of Delaney because we're
- 39:36Speaker 2: on a team that we don't have a lot of names,
- 39:38Speaker 2: so but I know, like of the three names we
- 39:40Speaker 2: have football players. So then he goes, oh, you that
- 39:42Speaker 2: first round pick we got?
- 39:43Speaker 1: Huh.
- 39:44Speaker 2: I'm like, oh yeah, he goes, man, you seem a
- 39:47Speaker 2: lot bigger on TV you got I walked out, dude.
- 39:52Speaker 2: I was so insecure. I was like, oh dude, I'm
- 39:54Speaker 2: not gonna make it here.
- 39:55Speaker 1: This sucks.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Hey that boy came out, he came out. It was
- 40:01Speaker 2: our only look at that.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Look at that. Yeah, I got you were, I got
- 40:04Speaker 1: to you were.
- 40:06Speaker 3: You're a big Michigan guy. Yeah yeah yeah, Michigan Race
- 40:09Speaker 3: coming up, Michigan Race. The team actually we staying in arbor,
- 40:12Speaker 3: so lot.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'll tell you what, that's a cool photo.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Trader started coming to That's what I was like, no, no, no,
- 40:19Speaker 2: hopefully they'll get a photo. So I got this guy,
- 40:24Speaker 2: still have a scar to the stay a little crack
- 40:26Speaker 2: in my helmet and would like kind of like puncture
- 40:27Speaker 2: it like a scab. And then every game it would
- 40:31Speaker 2: like repuncture. It would open up. So at the first quarter,
- 40:34Speaker 2: I look like a mad man.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I was like, I ain't gonna cat That was scared me.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I look at I want to get hit by him,
- 40:42Speaker 1: and because he's gonna spit that blood on you when
- 40:44Speaker 1: he gets when they tackle you, like y'all don't see
- 40:46Speaker 1: what happens in the pals is just.
- 40:50Speaker 3: So you guys played alongside on offense.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, man, him only I can only do certain
- 40:56Speaker 1: calls with him because we had another guy gonna say
- 40:58Speaker 1: his name, but we can't say all the calls like
- 41:00Speaker 1: man had dummy calls because we man it was a good,
- 41:04Speaker 1: good defensive end.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Yeah, he would say some crazy stuff. He'd be like,
- 41:08Speaker 1: if I say Chance, it's fake, it's dummy. Hey, don't
- 41:11Speaker 1: don't bite on it. So he'll be like, hey, chip
- 41:13Speaker 1: chip Chance, Chip chip Chip. Due will be looking at me.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Come over there, we get it. He'd be like, hey,
- 41:18Speaker 1: we're gonna keep that up. We read red. We'll say
- 41:21Speaker 1: like all type of crazy.
- 41:23Speaker 2: D lady and I once I got past this first
- 41:25Speaker 2: insult of me, like we went out delan I kind of.
- 41:27Speaker 2: We were in the streets a little bit. I'm twenty
- 41:31Speaker 2: one years old. The lady's like thirty two, but like
- 41:33Speaker 2: just a well forties. I'm with a vent right now.
- 41:39Speaker 2: There's got it was ship we had. We had a
- 41:43Speaker 2: lot of fun.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Speaking of vets though. You driving number twenty four, Jeff Bordon,
- 41:49Speaker 1: how is that? How is that on you?
- 41:50Speaker 3: Like? Dude? I mean he's my boss, dude, so yeah,
- 41:54Speaker 3: that's gotta be terrible. It was at first. I mean
- 41:57Speaker 3: he definitely kind of I remember my first conversation with
- 42:00Speaker 3: Jeff to drive it Indrick. He pulled me into his
- 42:03Speaker 3: bus at Pocono and he was like, he's like, yeah,
- 42:07Speaker 3: I get you.
- 42:07Speaker 1: You know, you're.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Driving these trucks like you're winning some races, but like
- 42:11Speaker 3: this cup car isn't a truck, so like you better
- 42:13Speaker 3: figure out how to drive stuff with like lower down
- 42:16Speaker 3: force and you know. So he was he was pretty
- 42:18Speaker 3: tough on me at first, and I think we have
- 42:20Speaker 3: a great relationship now where it's like like I've had
- 42:24Speaker 3: some success, so he's been able to see that and
- 42:26Speaker 3: like and be there for that and kind of mentor me.
- 42:29Speaker 3: So it's been awesome.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Was how was the process of getting the number twenty four?
- 42:33Speaker 2: Was it just given to you right away or did
- 42:35Speaker 2: you have to like ask permission for that? Like how
- 42:37Speaker 2: did that all?
- 42:38Speaker 3: So I kind of got put into that place because
- 42:42Speaker 3: my teammate Chase wanted to go to the nine car
- 42:45Speaker 3: and that was his dad's number, and so I was
- 42:49Speaker 3: coming in as a rookie and they were like, hey,
- 42:51Speaker 3: you know, we want to keep the twenty four going,
- 42:53Speaker 3: Like do you do you want to drive that number?
- 42:55Speaker 3: And I was like sure, absolutely, d just like that.
- 42:59Speaker 3: I mean it was a lot of presser, sure, but
- 43:00Speaker 3: I'm like, take it. You don't say no to that.
- 43:02Speaker 3: You don't You're like, man, like you're I was nineteen
- 43:06Speaker 3: at the time. I'm like, I'll handle it. We got
- 43:09Speaker 3: it now. It was a rough couple first couple of years,
- 43:11Speaker 3: but a rough first year, but I mean once you
- 43:14Speaker 3: get past that. But but yeah, it was cool.
- 43:17Speaker 2: How do you you talk about a rough couple of years, Like,
- 43:19Speaker 2: clearly you're rocking the twenty four, Jeff Gordon's now your boss,
- 43:21Speaker 2: your your other boss. Mister Hendrix, he's I'm sure just
- 43:25Speaker 2: the way you tell you said his name, it seems
- 43:27Speaker 2: like he's a very dominating presence. And then rough couple
- 43:30Speaker 2: of years when you first start out in the NASCAR series. Yeah,
- 43:33Speaker 2: how is it like trying to block out all of
- 43:37Speaker 2: the noise from like fans and the negativity that takes
- 43:40Speaker 2: place sometimes when you're going in racing and race out
- 43:43Speaker 2: and essentially fulfilling a dream of yours.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the first couple of years are you know,
- 43:49Speaker 3: there's a big learning curve. I'm sure, like just like
- 43:51Speaker 3: any sport, there's just a big there's a big jump
- 43:54Speaker 3: between the second series, which is O'Reilly to the Cup Series.
- 43:58Speaker 3: So I don't. I feel like I wasn't immune to that.
- 44:00Speaker 3: I just kind of went through those rookie struggles and
- 44:04Speaker 3: just had to kind of learn those things that I
- 44:06Speaker 3: needed to do better and focus on as a as
- 44:09Speaker 3: a race car driver. But yeah, I think the biggest
- 44:12Speaker 3: thing was that, you know, Rick Hendrick, he just kind
- 44:16Speaker 3: of never questioned me, like he was like he just
- 44:19Speaker 3: stuck by me the whole time, and he was like
- 44:21Speaker 3: it was really that that first year and a half,
- 44:23Speaker 3: I think was was when it was the toughest, and
- 44:26Speaker 3: then we started to kind of get it rolling after that.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Do you ever do you ever play the search bar
- 44:31Speaker 2: game on Twitter?
- 44:32Speaker 3: I try not to try not to, but hey you do? Yeah,
- 44:36Speaker 3: you do here? And then the way the algorithm is
- 44:38Speaker 3: now like sometimes they mention you and you don't even
- 44:40Speaker 3: want it.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I would. I remember like finishing games, I mean
- 44:44Speaker 2: like kind of killed it this game. I'm going to
- 44:46Speaker 2: go juice myself a little bit more and I type
- 44:49Speaker 2: in Taylor Lauwan in the search bar and I look
- 44:51Speaker 2: at him like ten comments, this dude the dog, He's this, X, Y,
- 44:53Speaker 2: and Z, and then be one guy, be like this
- 44:55Speaker 2: guy got fucking ran over all day.
- 44:57Speaker 3: He sucks and you see what he did on Lap
- 44:59Speaker 3: thirty nine.
- 45:01Speaker 2: In my heart would like I'd have like nine great
- 45:03Speaker 2: comments and then it'd be like one and that's the one.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I'd be like, yeah, I'll never make it. Yeah, while
- 45:08Speaker 2: it's a sixty year in the league, Like, yeah, you're
- 45:10Speaker 2: still doing your thing.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 3: I recently got some advice where it's like, don't read
- 45:14Speaker 3: the comments.
- 45:17Speaker 2: How much harror is that not to do? Though, Like
- 45:19Speaker 2: it's so much easier said than done. It is because
- 45:21Speaker 2: I gotta I gotta think of my brain where it's
- 45:22Speaker 2: like I want to know the information, Like if someone
- 45:25Speaker 2: knows something that I don't know, I kind of want
- 45:26Speaker 2: to whatever, so I feel fully informed. Agree, but like, yeah,
- 45:30Speaker 2: the best thing for your mental is just kind of
- 45:32Speaker 2: stay away because there's always gonna be the supporters, Like
- 45:34Speaker 2: you're always gonna have your those top tier fans are
- 45:36Speaker 2: gonna love you no matter what. But there's there's people
- 45:38Speaker 2: that want to see the world burn. You just might
- 45:40Speaker 2: be their subject that day.
- 45:41Speaker 3: I agree, And so it's just tough. It's hard when
- 45:43Speaker 3: somebody calls you out on something that you feel like
- 45:45Speaker 3: is accurate, like you're you're like you know, like you're like,
- 45:49Speaker 3: I might have made that mistake and then they see
- 45:51Speaker 3: it and you're like, ah, yep, got me, Like and
- 45:54Speaker 3: that's that's a tough kind of thing to get over.
- 45:56Speaker 3: But yeah, I don't know. I think it's just yeah,
- 45:58Speaker 3: try to try to keep your head down and keep
- 46:00Speaker 3: I always feel like the closer I can be with
- 46:02Speaker 3: my team, the more I'm like less susceptible to to
- 46:05Speaker 3: kind of hearing those things.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Do you get the guys who bet and they're like,
- 46:09Speaker 1: you cost me money? Like everything.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Even people close to me, like buddies of mine, are like, bro,
- 46:20Speaker 3: is it gonna be a good weekend this weekend? And
- 46:22Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't know. I'm not answering that, so
- 46:26Speaker 3: I appreciate you. I'm like, are you asking for are
- 46:28Speaker 3: you asking as a friend? Are you asking like because
- 46:31Speaker 3: you want to know? But yeah, I don't know. I
- 46:34Speaker 3: try to stay away from that, but it's it's definitely
- 46:36Speaker 3: like I feel like, yeah, people people always have interests,
- 46:40Speaker 3: Like they're always like or they'll be like, you know,
- 46:43Speaker 3: my dad's a big fan. So then they're like, oh,
- 46:45Speaker 3: you got to win for my dad. I'm trying, bro,
- 46:48Speaker 3: you're trying.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I was actually lacking motivation today out of your dad's
- 46:53Speaker 2: a fan of definitely.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Now you told me like it's a big weekend.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Yeah, have you.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Ever like dude being there this weekend? Like there was
- 47:01Speaker 2: actually a hilarious clip of some dude from it was
- 47:04Speaker 2: the Prime broadcast that took place, and there was a
- 47:06Speaker 2: dude in a like he had a tied ice shirt
- 47:09Speaker 2: on and you can just tell he was in zombie mode,
- 47:11Speaker 2: like he was out there. You've seen him, right, And
- 47:17Speaker 2: have you ever had like the sun was really bright?
- 47:21Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:22Speaker 2: Yeah, he was the walking Dead out was hilarious.
- 47:25Speaker 1: He probably was. He was like, yeah, and he's just
- 47:29Speaker 1: any interview he interviewed people.
- 47:31Speaker 2: No, bro, he doesn't live broadcast in the on the
- 47:34Speaker 2: it's like the Prime broadcast.
- 47:35Speaker 1: He was behind me and there's a dude back there
- 47:38Speaker 1: that truly.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Is like two am on Broadway type of Have you like,
- 47:43Speaker 2: what's the most interesting or probably uncomfortable interaction you've had
- 47:47Speaker 2: with a fan? Just a hammered guy at the end
- 47:49Speaker 2: after a big dub think the team.
- 47:52Speaker 3: So we have this is a good one. I'm gonna
- 47:54Speaker 3: say it's it's a positive one. But we have this
- 47:56Speaker 3: fan at Phoenix. He stands So the giry in Phoenix
- 48:00Speaker 3: you have like fans can stand right behind the car.
- 48:03Speaker 3: So when I get to the car, I'm walking in
- 48:05Speaker 3: the garage, I'm like head down, kind of think about practice,
- 48:08Speaker 3: and this guy at the top of his lungs just
- 48:11Speaker 3: is like, let's go Byron Like he just yells and
- 48:14Speaker 3: he's like he's excited.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Man, no stop like a chant.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, like and he's into it. Like his energy.
- 48:21Speaker 3: I try to match his energy because it's impressive.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Get up shirt off next time.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Yeah, how old is he?
- 48:29Speaker 3: I think? I don't know. I think he's like probably
- 48:30Speaker 3: in his thirties or forties. But he has like all
- 48:33Speaker 3: of our gear and yeah, usually suit, but he has
- 48:38Speaker 3: like the picture of my face on it or the
- 48:41Speaker 3: shirt of my face on it, stuff like that.
- 48:43Speaker 2: You gotta get him a suit. We look him up.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he gets fired up.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Do we had When we had Bubba and Ryan on
- 48:50Speaker 2: last week, we talked about gifts that we do for
- 48:52Speaker 2: our team and they kind of like, yeah, we do dinners.
- 48:54Speaker 2: We want to get to know everybody I am is
- 48:57Speaker 2: my personal goal to get drivers to start giving out
- 49:01Speaker 2: gifts to their pit crew guys.
- 49:02Speaker 3: Have we given up gifts like like the.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Chris for example, the year like going to championships. You know,
- 49:10Speaker 1: you give them some winning championship.
- 49:12Speaker 2: As an offensive lineman, like our quarterback every year would
- 49:15Speaker 2: get us a gift marks, a nice pair of boots,
- 49:17Speaker 2: he has a suit, jacket, watches. Russell Wilson got his
- 49:20Speaker 2: boys stock in Amazon, like ten thousand dollars in stock
- 49:24Speaker 2: at Amazon.
- 49:24Speaker 3: I saw when they gifted all the like cars and stuff.
- 49:27Speaker 2: We do all that, you know what sneaky?
- 49:29Speaker 3: Give sponsorship that's not sto that.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Yeah, shouts of this stuff for free. Yeah, they gave
- 49:37Speaker 1: most of this stuff free.
- 49:38Speaker 3: I think we should. I mean, honestly, we do a
- 49:41Speaker 3: lot of like we do bonuses and stuff. But I
- 49:43Speaker 3: think get creative with it and maybe do something that
- 49:45Speaker 3: people would people would like.
- 49:47Speaker 2: But you should get everybody to coliseum, like the first
- 49:52Speaker 2: person to finish this, Like the first person to finish
- 49:54Speaker 2: this is gonna get this watch or something like that.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Just tear them out. Yeah, yeah, I get all your
- 50:00Speaker 2: boys to go use these big brilly men trying to
- 50:02Speaker 2: figure out this little time.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Usually. Oh you know, I ain't trying to give away
- 50:07Speaker 1: the secret. But if you got a sponsorship, you know
- 50:09Speaker 1: you'd be like, hey, I'm trying to do something with that.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Your supply yeah, you know, like yeah your supply yeah
- 50:15Speaker 3: Jim Jim stuff from form Energy. Yeah that could be good. Yeah, dude,
- 50:19Speaker 3: want to do that.
- 50:20Speaker 2: One thing I read that was super cool is you
- 50:22Speaker 2: obviously went to Liberty University. Yeah, and on your car
- 50:25Speaker 2: sometimes Liberty University is like your hood sponsor. Like how
- 50:29Speaker 2: does that feel knowing that, like your alma mater is
- 50:31Speaker 2: investig in you like that.
- 50:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of wild because when I went there
- 50:34Speaker 3: on campus, which was you know, a little bit short
- 50:36Speaker 3: lived because I started racing, you know, around the country
- 50:39Speaker 3: every weekend, but I would come I would go there
- 50:42Speaker 3: and all my friends there would be like, oh, you
- 50:44Speaker 3: know how the race go, And it was just a
- 50:46Speaker 3: cool sort of interaction. So yeah, they've done a lot
- 50:49Speaker 3: for my career. I mean, I'm super thankful that they've
- 50:52Speaker 3: been a supporter of mine for for years, and yeah,
- 50:56Speaker 3: I think that it's just it's cool, like we've done
- 50:58Speaker 3: a lot of stuff with the football team coach Chadwell
- 51:01Speaker 3: and they've been doing a good job over there too,
- 51:03Speaker 3: So yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 51:05Speaker 1: How does it feel like switching from cars to cars?
- 51:08Speaker 1: I know, you drove the eighty eight car and automle parts. Yeah,
- 51:12Speaker 1: like yeah, so how how does it transfer over?
- 51:16Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't transfer over, Like they're they're so different,
- 51:21Speaker 3: not good. It's like driving a van versus a sports car.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Like honestly, it's that different. Like the the cup car
- 51:30Speaker 3: is like very stuck to the road. You know, it's
- 51:33Speaker 3: got a really like tight, you know, kind of y'all moment,
- 51:37Speaker 3: so it's like got to really you know, it's basically
- 51:41Speaker 3: the tire feels like your Corvette, Like yeah, it's just
- 51:44Speaker 3: like that that finnicky and and then the the Riley
- 51:48Speaker 3: cars like driving a bus, it's like you can just
- 51:50Speaker 3: kind of like hanging out. Yeah, you can just hang
- 51:53Speaker 3: it out and like nothing really bad happens. So really
- 51:55Speaker 3: it's a lot different. But you learn the track, which
- 51:58Speaker 3: is a big thing.
- 51:59Speaker 1: What's the g's don't those cars? Like getting into a turn?
- 52:03Speaker 3: How many can you probably pol like two and a
- 52:06Speaker 3: half three g's lap? Yeah, so you're just like yeah,
- 52:10Speaker 3: you're just you're stuck over there. Yeah, you got everything
- 52:13Speaker 3: padded up so you just don't have to move, but
- 52:15Speaker 3: like your head rest is like there, so you're just like, wait,
- 52:20Speaker 3: so how much how much you're like, yeah, it's bumpy, so.
- 52:25Speaker 1: How much turn can you get with the helmets?
- 52:27Speaker 2: Oh?
- 52:27Speaker 3: Nothing? Nothing. We're locked in, which is for safety too, right,
- 52:31Speaker 3: like when we take an impact, like like I crashed
- 52:33Speaker 3: this last weekend and like I fly through the front
- 52:37Speaker 3: of it like if I wasn't locked in. Yeah, So
- 52:41Speaker 3: like you're your helmet and everything is like as tight
- 52:43Speaker 3: as you can get.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Yeah, because I always wonder, like what's a view? Like,
- 52:47Speaker 1: so you just you can only see like from right here.
- 52:51Speaker 3: You just like move your eyes, you move. Yeah, you
- 52:54Speaker 3: can see like out the left side better than you
- 52:56Speaker 3: can see out the right.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Really.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Yeah, So when you're in this like this jam packed
- 52:59Speaker 2: caution like just comes comes over. You guys are all
- 53:01Speaker 2: kind of condensed back together, and you got guys on
- 53:03Speaker 2: all angles of you.
- 53:04Speaker 1: M h.
- 53:05Speaker 2: You're just kind of winging it.
- 53:07Speaker 3: You can see him up until like they get like
- 53:09Speaker 3: forty five, Like if they get here, you can't you
- 53:12Speaker 3: can't really see him.
- 53:13Speaker 2: And are you relying on comms to be like hey,
- 53:15Speaker 2: you're good to pass, you're good to move.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Like you're it's like your peripheral like you feel it.
- 53:19Speaker 3: So you're like you kind of like feel that guy
- 53:21Speaker 3: next to you, Like I don't know if it was
- 53:23Speaker 3: like that in football, like side to side, whether you
- 53:25Speaker 3: like feel someone next to you, but you you can
- 53:28Speaker 3: see them out of your peripheral but you're mostly just
- 53:30Speaker 3: like feeling for where they are with the air.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Because I don't have to like know that Taylor's right there,
- 53:36Speaker 1: like if I'm doing we doing like a double or
- 53:39Speaker 1: Tripp block. Yeah, I'm not looking at him. I just
- 53:42Speaker 1: know he's supposed to be there, so and you kind
- 53:45Speaker 1: of feel him.
- 53:46Speaker 3: That's how we are. Like you you you expect that
- 53:49Speaker 3: guy to be like in a certain spot, yeah, okay,
- 53:52Speaker 3: and you can you can see, you know, from here
- 53:55Speaker 3: to here, but you can't obviously see.
- 53:57Speaker 1: What about the noise? What is what's happening in the car?
- 54:00Speaker 1: Can you hear? Are you just hearing your car? Do
- 54:02Speaker 1: you hear a car coming up?
- 54:04Speaker 3: You hear like changes in tone? So, like we have
- 54:07Speaker 3: a lot of noise canceling stuff, So like the sound
- 54:11Speaker 3: inside the car is probably like ninety decibels something like that.
- 54:15Speaker 3: It's still pretty loud, but it's not like to the
- 54:19Speaker 3: point where you're like your ears are irritated, but like
- 54:22Speaker 3: you can hear changes in tones, so like if the
- 54:25Speaker 3: exhaust comes next to you, like someone's getting close to you,
- 54:28Speaker 3: you can hear that, so you kind of like you
- 54:30Speaker 3: hear that noise buffer differently and you're like, all right,
- 54:33Speaker 3: he must be he must be trying to make a
- 54:35Speaker 3: pass or you know, you kind of gauge off of that.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Is it is it a down shift that you can
- 54:41Speaker 1: kind of tell that he probably about to try to.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Well and restarts. That's the big game is like you
- 54:45Speaker 3: can hear them, but you can't necessarily like you're looking
- 54:48Speaker 3: at them, but you can't necessarily like just be staring
- 54:51Speaker 3: at their car, like you have to kind of be
- 54:52Speaker 3: looking out at other things, like whatever it is. You
- 54:55Speaker 3: might be looking at the guy behind you, but you're
- 54:57Speaker 3: listening for for q's to know when to go.
- 55:01Speaker 2: After the race, how long does it take you to
- 55:02Speaker 2: kind of calm down and get to sit Like this
- 55:04Speaker 2: race ended. I know you didn't finish the race, but
- 55:06Speaker 2: this race ended at one am. Yeah, Like I know,
- 55:09Speaker 2: if we ever played a night game and I get
- 55:11Speaker 2: back at one am after an away game, I'm up
- 55:13Speaker 2: till four am. I'm still playing the game in my head,
- 55:15Speaker 2: and all that is the same.
- 55:16Speaker 3: For you yeah, same for us. Yeah, like it takes
- 55:18Speaker 3: probably I would say three four hours and the adrenaline
- 55:21Speaker 3: finally kind of wears down. So for us, an ideal
- 55:25Speaker 3: scenario would be like to end at seven, because if
- 55:27Speaker 3: you end at seven, you're like by eleven, you're like,
- 55:30Speaker 3: all right, I can go to that. But until then,
- 55:33Speaker 3: like you know, if you had a bad day, you
- 55:35Speaker 3: might you know, pop a slide or something. You might
- 55:38Speaker 3: like just kind of try to decompress, but you still
- 55:40Speaker 3: are like, yeah, you're still in the zone and like
- 55:43Speaker 3: your head's kind of still buzzing from the race. So
- 55:46Speaker 3: adrenaline and like that all that build up for sure.
- 55:51Speaker 1: How does it go about though? Because I know you
- 55:53Speaker 1: guys are teammates, but we're striving to win a championship.
- 55:57Speaker 1: I am striving to win a championship. How do you
- 55:59Speaker 1: guys go about sharing data information knowing that I still
- 56:05Speaker 1: got to beat my partner, yeah, to be champion, but
- 56:09Speaker 1: this still he's still part of my team. How does
- 56:11Speaker 1: that look to you guys?
- 56:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of like one one guy winning helps
- 56:15Speaker 3: us all. Like it's kind of like high tide raises
- 56:19Speaker 3: all ships, Like you're just trying to get everyone on
- 56:21Speaker 3: the same playing field so that you can battle it
- 56:24Speaker 3: out between like we saw with Gibbs this past weekend,
- 56:26Speaker 3: like they're all battling for the win. Like that's what
- 56:29Speaker 3: you want. You want to battle between your teammates because
- 56:32Speaker 3: you feel like, Okay, now I have a chance to
- 56:34Speaker 3: win as well, so you're you're happy for them, but
- 56:37Speaker 3: you're trying to like constantly raise your team's level so
- 56:41Speaker 3: that you guys can all kind of build to that.
- 56:43Speaker 1: So if you're winning, do I bring So if I'm winning,
- 56:46Speaker 1: say I'm in this league and I'm bringing my team
- 56:49Speaker 1: with me because I'm winning, or how does that work? Yeah?
- 56:51Speaker 3: You try to like I mean no, like everyone's results
- 56:55Speaker 3: are independent of each other, but you're trying to like
- 56:58Speaker 3: share enough so that you guys can all kind of
- 57:01Speaker 3: improve at the same the same rate. So because I
- 57:04Speaker 3: feel like if you have someone as a teammate, it's
- 57:07Speaker 3: better or it's easier to share information with them and
- 57:09Speaker 3: know how it works then than it is a competitor
- 57:12Speaker 3: that's not an Hendrick.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Yeah, as the driver, I understand, but what about the
- 57:15Speaker 1: crew chiefs? Do they feel the same way?
- 57:17Speaker 3: They share everything they're up there actually during the race,
- 57:20Speaker 3: like talking to each other each other, yeah, like they'll
- 57:21Speaker 3: be like, you know, the nine team will be like
- 57:24Speaker 3: talking to the twenty four like, hey, do you think
- 57:26Speaker 3: you're gonna pit here? That way they cover each other and.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Cover each other yecause they're not keep going.
- 57:31Speaker 3: Yeah, because if one guy's like, no, I'm gonna pit,
- 57:34Speaker 3: and now you don't have any any coverage, Like now
- 57:36Speaker 3: the other guys are gonna queue off of that guy
- 57:38Speaker 3: and now you're by yourself. So the teams try to
- 57:42Speaker 3: like a lot of times, you know, work together to
- 57:45Speaker 3: to pit.
- 57:47Speaker 2: This might be a very unique situation. But if you
- 57:49Speaker 2: guys are like you said, Gibbs is all kind of
- 57:51Speaker 2: racing for the win this past weekend, if Hendricks is
- 57:54Speaker 2: in a similar situation and one guy needs more points
- 57:57Speaker 2: to make it in the playoffs or somebody, do you
- 57:59Speaker 2: guys kind of have that in your head, like just
- 58:01Speaker 2: take you for instance, like hey, Willy Willie boy, he
- 58:03Speaker 2: needs a couple extra points again, maybe we give him
- 58:05Speaker 2: the dub today if I'm racing one, two and three,
- 58:07Speaker 2: or is that just when it comes to the checker flag.
- 58:10Speaker 3: It's very war it is. It's like it's it's definitely
- 58:14Speaker 3: like subjective, like you have to make someone. You have
- 58:17Speaker 3: to be fast enough for someone to help you, Like
- 58:20Speaker 3: is how I always look at it, Like you have
- 58:21Speaker 3: to be up front leading, like for them to cut
- 58:25Speaker 3: your break, I think. And until then you can't. You
- 58:28Speaker 3: can't expect him to.
- 58:29Speaker 2: You can't be sitting there too, being like let me
- 58:31Speaker 2: get this one.
- 58:31Speaker 3: You can't be like in tenth like, hey, buddy, can
- 58:33Speaker 3: you slow down up there?
- 58:34Speaker 2: Like yeah, this point, dumb question? All good.
- 58:40Speaker 3: It's like Cal, Notton and and Ricky.
- 58:42Speaker 1: You know.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Cal's like, hey, can I can I win a couple?
- 58:44Speaker 3: And He's like, well, you gotta if you won, And
- 58:46Speaker 3: how that makes sense?
- 58:50Speaker 2: So you do like the movie?
- 58:51Speaker 3: I like that.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Fires me up, fires me up.
- 58:56Speaker 3: It's true.
- 58:57Speaker 2: We're gonna get you out of here in just a second,
- 58:58Speaker 2: but I want to play a quick little game you okay,
- 59:00Speaker 2: And this this game is nothing more than we're going
- 59:03Speaker 2: to show you a photo and you shoun give me
- 59:06Speaker 2: one word to describe that photo to you how it
- 59:08Speaker 2: feels in your heart.
- 59:09Speaker 3: Okay, all right, So.
- 59:10Speaker 2: We'll start with the first photo.
- 59:12Speaker 3: Oh my teammates. Oh we're going over teammates here, Kyle,
- 59:17Speaker 3: word one word funny?
- 59:22Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, Kyle's funny.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Northern Californian guy. Right there.
- 59:27Speaker 3: I would say Chase. I would say, uh, cerebral wow, balance,
- 59:38Speaker 3: big word, okay, Alex, I would I would say, he's
- 59:45Speaker 3: a he's a dog guy.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Dog got hyphenated?
- 59:49Speaker 3: Love dogs, and I love dogs. We talked about usually
- 59:53Speaker 3: talk about that.
- 59:53Speaker 2: What's his dog?
- 59:55Speaker 3: Ah, he's he has mini dogs?
- 59:58Speaker 2: Mini dogs? N okay, he's yeah, yeah, the big boys.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Are you a small dog guy? Medium sized dog guy? Man?
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: I have a soft spot for small dogs.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: Talk to me.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you got a frenchy.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: I don't have any dogs, but if I if I did,
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: I think i'd have like one that's like fifteen to
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: twenty five pounds, so small.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: To medium, but also get around.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Exactly, like a mini husky or something.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, but I have to tell you I
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: got two huskies. You don't want to you don't want
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: right now? My wife, yeah, my wife loves animals. I
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: loved animals, but I have so many animals. I don't
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: know if I love animals anymore. Really, it's a lot
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: of responsibility. You got a real zoolander, dude, I got yeah, exactly,
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: all right? Next photo? Please?
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Oh? Uh, I would say one. Mm hmm chaotic?
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Oh is he that chaotic?
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: So I have not met Carson. I am a fan
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: of car because of yours and Ryan's and Bubba's response.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I've heard the word ass while be thrown around. I've
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: heard chaotic. This guy just doesn't give a ship, does he.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I mean it's for me. It's like it's sensitive because
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: he caused the crash I was in this week, so.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Really, but you come over those calms on him a
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: little bit.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: We'll see. It didn't driving like that. I didn't see
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: it until after. But he's gonna have to I don't know.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: People are gonna have to get after that one a
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: little bit.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: He's a tall boy, right, tall Like he's Slenderman type, right,
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: you got to check his ass ad Michigan, dude, come on,
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: be like, we fucking let me tell you.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: Something, right, We'll see, We'll see.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: But that'd be a fun little game. You and Carson,
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: just a little rivalry.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: I don't know about rivalry. I think a lot of
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: people might have a rivalry with him right now.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: And is he Do you think he's just unfazed by
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: the idea of people maybe not liking him the most?
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: It seems like it seems like it. Yeah, so we'll
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: see all right, fair enough? Yeah, yeah, it was a
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: tough one.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Yeah, what are you running here at this time? Like
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: what we were not?
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: We weren't great. We had to come from the back.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: So I think we were like I want to say,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: like fifteen.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: But now was that when you watched that film back?
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Did that feel intentional?
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: I don't know. I didn't see it, Like, I didn't
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: see it until I kind of watched it back and
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: then I.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Was like, all right, so what's he bumping up on
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: me before?
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: When they when they threw me the phone in the
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: garage as I'm sitting on jack stands, I'm like, I
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: was a little pissy about that one.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Yeah, can I commentate? Can you commentate what you see?
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Because I don't see it. I just see a lot
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: of bumping and then.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Feels to me listen as a guy watching it, feels
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: to me like Carson feels a little bit of pressure
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: on his back right and kind of bumps him up
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: a little bit. Oh buddy, you want to you want
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: to play this game. You're not gonna pat boom hit
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: him into the wall a little bit.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I feel like they was scrubbing that like Everyoneinitely was,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: It definitely was.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: There was a lot going on, but I think just
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: kind of late move into the corner and then and
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: then washed up. You know, if you hold the bottom there,
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: you don't you don't wash up and crash everyone else.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Is there a point when you get hit like
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: that and there's a bunch of people coming, You're like,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: if I'm gonna be out, so is everybody else? Kind
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: of slow down, kind of tangle everybody like just that.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: I feel like that would be that would hurt, like sacrifice, Yeah,
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: sacrifice myself just just crashing enough.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: For two un dumb questions. Let's get let's get the
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: next head shot up?
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: I would say Ross, I would say blue collar. Yeah,
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: he works, he works hard at it, and he's aggressive,
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: but I think you know he uh, there's definitely respect
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: there because I feel like he he works hard at it.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: All right, blue collar, but there's respect there because he
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: works hard at it. All hyphenated a lot of quote
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: graphic on that, all right.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Last one, Oh man, I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say iconic.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Yeah right there, savage.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Have you ever seen the movie?
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: What is that movie?
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Is it air? Bud air Bud. Have you seen the
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: movie of the air Bud where the the dog. You've
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: seen that movie.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: I have seen that.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Movie, okay, And at the end of the movie, and
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: then in the movie, there's the bad guy who has
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: the newspaper and he's doing this, and then there's the
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: kid who's like, come on, buddy, come on, get over here,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: and the dog's essentially choosing which side he's gonna go on.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: If Jeff Gordon was on one side and Jimmy Johnson
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: was on the other, which way you're going. I mean,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: that's a hell of a question. Remember where your boss
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: and an icon versus your favorite driver.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: Of all time before? Yeah, I was gonna say before
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: Hendrick like I was a big Jimmy Johnson fan. I
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: still am. Not that Jimmy Johnson an I e No,
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: Jimmy's the man. I mean, I gotta I'm a little biased.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: He he was my Yeah, he was my idol grown up.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: So I love both of them, though I was a big,
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: big Hendrick fan. So it's closed, no doubts.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: I will say this. You didn't answer the question. You're
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: gonna sit down. You're gonna sit down and be like, yeah,
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: you guys are both the best.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys, all right, don't take it sid dude.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: We appreciate you coming on, taking the time flying in here.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: It's absolutely incredible. It's been so awesome here first in
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: the NASCAR world.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: De lady.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: I know we'll talk about after, but I thought you
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: were incredible during this interview. You did an amazing job
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: as well. We we asked Bubba and Ryan this at
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: the end, and truly this is up to you. How
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: do I feel some type of way about those individuals? Yes,
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: but I asked him at the end of the interview.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: There's a show that comes out called Radioactive, and we
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: watched it. We were watching the show now, Mitch watched it,
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: and we asked Ryan and Bubba to say, shoutout racing
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: with the boys somewhere on the com and see if
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: we would make it on Radioactive. They did not do that.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: They didn't do it.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: They didn't do it. So here's an opportunity for because
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: I'm I'm sweet.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Win, I'm showing you guys.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Were coming in energy.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: They absolutely ripley. How about racing with the boys?
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Am I right? Thank you? Thank you?
