  Today we're going to talk about why it's merciful for God to

  allow people's souls to be destroyed in hell.

  I'm an annihilationist. I believe in the second death
• 1:30
  that the Book of Revelation talks about, as well as many
• 1:33
  other passages. I believe that the soul can
• 1:36
  eventually die. The first death is obviously
• 1:39
  physical and the second to soul death.

  The Bible speaks in many verses about this.
• 1:46
  Jesus says it is not my desire that anybody perish.
• 1:50
  But unfortunately there are people out there who want to
• 1:54
  perish. They want to be destroyed.

  They don't want to follow God. They don't want to obey God.

  Interestingly enough, earlier today I was playing some Fallout
• 2:04
  4, and when you start off, you're standing in the mirror
• 2:09
  with your wife, character named Nora, and Nate.

  You play a character named Nate. Now you can rename the character
• 2:18
  and you can give him attributes and you can make him look like
• 2:21
  yourself if you want to. But what ends up happening is
• 2:25
  you're walking around in this pretty house and you hear a baby
• 2:29
  crying. You go and you check on it, and
• 2:31
  there's also a robot Butler named Codsworth.

  And you're just chilling and you're listening to news report
• 2:37
  on the television set. What happens is, is that
• 2:41
  suddenly the television, you notice people are running around
• 2:44
  outside in the television set says that all of a sudden
• 2:47
  nuclear bombs have been basically shot up.

  The world is firing nuclear missiles back at one another.
• 2:55
  The countries are going to basically devastate everything
• 2:59
  globally. Well, the news report, the

  television goes static, the door flies open and you and your
• 3:08
  spouse, your spouse grabs the baby, your baby, apparently your
• 3:12
  character's baby, and you go running down the sidewalk, which
• 3:16
  will then lead to a hill. And everybody's talking about we
• 3:20
  need to get up to the vault. We need to get up to the vault.

  Well, once you get up to the vault, you're standing there and
• 3:27
  you can see an A bomb go off in the distance and it just
• 3:33
  explodes. Big mushroom cloud.
• 3:36
  Well, there's a bunch of people that are still outside.
• 3:39
  There are people that were not on the list to be saved, and
• 3:44
  apparently because your character served in the military
• 3:47
  or whatever, you are on the list as well as your family to be
• 3:51
  protected. The robot doesn't get to go with
• 3:54
  you though, unfortunately. So the vault door opens just as
• 4:00
  the mushroom cloud is going up, and the people around you that
• 4:04
  are also on the list are getting really anxious because they see
• 4:09
  that although the bomb hit from a far away distance, there's all
• 4:12
  this radiation and ground that's being tore up coming towards you
• 4:17
  at a very fast rate. The last words you hear as you
• 4:21
  go down the elevator into the vault is, Oh dear God, that's
• 4:27
  the last words that you hear from people.
• 4:31
  And you know, as you're going down into the vault in a safe
• 4:35
  area that the people that were outside the vault, the people
• 4:40
  who were not on the list and saved, they all got obliterated.

  No way they could have survived, period.

  Well, that is basically in a nutshell what Christianity's
• 4:52
  teaching that if you're not on the list, if you didn't do a
• 4:57
  simple thing like accept Jesus Christ, accept God into your
• 5:01
  heart, accept that Jesus Christ did the miracles that he
• 5:04
  performed in the Bible such as the resurrection and then
• 5:10
  ascending up into heaven. If you don't believe that, well
• 5:15
  then you're in serious trouble. And even if you do accept Jesus
• 5:20
  Christ and you do all that, you also have to believe that you
• 5:23
  have to strive to be Christ. Like that's the very definition
• 5:26
  of Christian, to be like Christ. And Christ did good things.

  Christ did good works, He did miracles, He did great things,
• 5:38
  and he also taught and he showed by example, by his own fruits on
• 5:44
  why it was that he was the Messiah, the Savior of humanity.

  Even whenever he existed, even whenever he walked the earth,
• 5:52
  there were non believers, there were skeptics, there were people
• 5:56
  who felt that it was OK to mock him and insult him and spit on
• 6:01
  him all the way through everything that he did,
• 6:04
  everything that he showed them, they chose not to.
• 6:08
  Now here's why it is that people end up in hell.
• 6:11
  Ladies and gentlemen, I'll make it very clear.

  You're standing outside the vault.
• 6:17
  God is the the sustainer of life.
• 6:20
  If you were to imagine for a moment that God is the vault,
• 6:23
  he's the only thing that can protect you from what is
• 6:26
  inevitably going to happen. God sustains the universe, He
• 6:32
  sustains reality, He sustains life itself.
• 6:36
  If you are separated from God, it's like the human being who is
• 6:41
  separated from the vault and left to the open world to be hit
• 6:45
  by all those damn nukes. When the universe dies, you will
• 6:49
  not be able to survive. Even if you were in a spaceship
• 6:52
  or if you were in a rocket, you can't continue to exist.

  You don't. You won't have any earth to be
• 6:59
  able to stand on when the world ends.

  You won't have any kind of world that you can be on if the
• 7:04
  universe itself implodes in on itself.

  The only reason why all of these laws of the universe exist is

  because of the Lawmaker himself. So if you decide that you don't
• 7:19
  want to be with God, he's not some kind of tyrannical alien
• 7:24
  who's going to enslave you and force you to be with him, even
• 7:28
  if you don't want to or you wouldn't want to be interested
• 7:32
  in that kind of life. Once our physical bodies are
• 7:37
  gone, our souls need to go somewhere.
• 7:41
  Our souls are either going to be with him or they're going to be
• 7:44
  destroyed. And if you didn't want to be
• 7:48
  with him, he's a gentleman. He's not going to force you to
• 7:51
  do things that you don't want to do.

  Throughout your entire life, you've been given free will.

  From the moment that you became sentient, from the moment you
• 7:59
  became conscious, you were given the ability to make every
• 8:04
  decision that you have, including accepting or
• 8:06
  disobeying him. It was your choice.

  Unfortunately, as you tried to erase God, you erased yourself.

  It's like a battery trying to drain itself.

  You did this to yourself. That's the reason why Christians

  tell you you need to get saved. You need to get yourself on the
• 8:26
  list. The vault is only going to be
• 8:28
  around for so long. It's only going to exist long

  enough for you within that moment.

  You have to take the opportunity.

  If the vault shuts and you're on the outside and you get blown to
• 8:41
  smithereens because of a stupid choice or stupid decisions,

  well, that's your damn fault. It was your choice now.

  God loved you, and He already proved that He did.

  He offered you the opportunity He gave you your entire life.

  You were given the opportunity to get on that list, to be
• 9:05
  protected, to be safe, to be with the very figure who

  sustains your life. If you're separated from he who

  sustains your life, then your life goes dead, flat, lying.

  Period. And that's why it's good,

  because God knew whenever He created free will and gave
• 9:29
  people the choices, He had the knowledge.

  He didn't force it. He just simply had the wisdom

  and understanding to know that not everyone was going to love

  him, not everyone would care for him.

  That was the consequences, every action.

  As a consequence, he knew that some people would not love him,

  some people would believe in him because they love him and they
• 9:50
  appreciate all the blessings. Other would love out of fear.

  Others would love out of respect.

  For whatever reason or understanding they had, they

  did. And of course, unfortunately,

  there are some people out there who claim to come in his name.

  They claim to be a part of the flock.

  And it'll turn out that once they get in and they take the

  what is called the GOAT test, if they can, if they actually can

  pass, go collect $200. I don't think you have to be a
• 10:26
  Fallout 4 fan or Fallout fan in general in order to understand

  this concept. If you are separated from God
• 10:34
  and you choose not to be with God, and he's the one who
• 10:37
  created you and breathe life into you, and that breath is no
• 10:42
  longer there, you cannot continue to exist.

  You will cease to exist. So that's why it's merciful.

  It's merciful because you will either choose to be saved or you
• 10:55
  will choose your own self execution.
