- Brynne Erickson (00:28) Julie Perry, I am so thrilled to have you on tonight to chat. How are you feeling? Julie Parry (00:35) doing very well. Thank you. I'm super excited to do this podcast with you. So thank you for the opportunity. Brynne Erickson (00:39) Thanks. Yeah, absolutely. I'm thrilled that you're here with me tonight to talk about your beautiful skill that you've cultivated throughout your past couple of years. We'll get into that. So Julie is a professional foot zoner and she's going to teach us about what that is and her story of how she found it or it found her and how it can benefit all of us and then share her information so that we can partake of her foot zoning. So Julie, what? is foot zoning and how on earth did you become a foot zoner? What's your story? Julie Parry (01:13) So foot zoning, ⁓ your feet are an entire map of your body. So it's kind of like your foot is the keyboard and your body is the computer. So by accessing certain points on the feet, it's like reflexology. So by touching certain points on the feet, you're able to realign all the systems. ⁓ Our bodies have the physical body, the mental body, the emotional body, and a spiritual body. So the foot zone is just a loving way of getting on the feet and just kind of getting everything to communicate with one another, to get everything in balance and connected. And so that's what foot zoning is. And it's kind of funny. It kind of found me because I was at the gym back in the day, like years ago, I was at the gym and you know, when you get with your friends, you kind of start talking about all the things, you know, little kids and marriage and all the things and the stresses of life. And I was obviously doing that. And on the treadmill, my friend said, you did a foot zone. And I said, But what? She says, like a foot zone. It's this thing where these people get on your feet and they can tell what emotions are stored in your body and your organs. And they can tell like what you might be going through. And then they help you release the emotion. I've always kind of been connected to that kind of stuff anyway. looking back, even as a young child, I've been very sensitive to energy. didn't know it at the time, but I was just, it was just kind of like this, ⁓ yeah, that sounds really cool. Like sign me up. Brynne Erickson (02:13) You Uh-huh. Julie Parry (02:41) So my friend referred me to a friend who had zoned her. So I went in just totally open. Like, I don't know what this is, but I'm willing to try it. And that's kind of how I got introduced to the foot zone, as getting it done for myself. Brynne Erickson (02:50) Mm-hmm. So how long ago was this? Like I didn't know about foot zoning until like two years ago. Yeah. Julie Parry (03:04) Really, this was probably, I've lived in this house for seven years, so it was probably two years before that. I would say, so it's probably been about nine, 10 years that I started getting foot zoned. I didn't realize it had been that long, but it has. Brynne Erickson (03:17) it. Do you know the history of foot zoning at all? Is it in Eastern practice? Yeah. Julie Parry (03:22) it's an Eastern practice. Yeah. It's like way, way, way back. ⁓ they used it in other, yeah, long time ago. ⁓ it's come a long way, new techniques, new things, but I do know that Erzdahl, he, ⁓ when he was expanding on the zone and recreating the zone and getting more moves on the zone, he actually had it like in a dream. He visualized like what parts, what organs were and what. Brynne Erickson (03:27) Okay. Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (03:48) So, you know, just how things are kind of given to us in these days, it's like, if we're open to it, we can receive. And so he, he received like how things were connected on the feet. And that's kind of where, where it started. And people, think back in the day as well, they didn't want medication. were kind of looking for ways to, you know, our bodies can heal themselves. And, and in a lot of ways, I mean, medication is great. I love that right now at Western Eastern medicine is like, Brynne Erickson (03:49) Yeah. Hmm. Yes. Julie Parry (04:17) We need both. And so I love that there's a shift in that. So yeah, it goes way back. Brynne Erickson (04:23) Cool, yeah, I love that shift too of people don't just want to take pills, but they also want to know how they can alter their lifestyles to get the most out of the medication, you know, and maybe even wean off of it if possible, which is really, really cool. Okay, yeah. Julie Parry (04:37) Yes. I did have a client that actually did came to me and thought she was, you know, like, don't know if you can help me with my physical stuff. I've got high blood pressure, and all the things. So she was adamant that I said, well, there, you could have some emotions there. She's no, no, I don't think so. I'm pretty, I'm pretty, I need a physical. So I'm like, well, come give it a try. And so she's like, okay, well, I'll come give you a try. And I think she was kind of closed off to the emotional part of it. But when she came, and we addressed some of the emotions that I felt on the feet that connected to certain organs and certain parts of the body. All of she's in tears and she's crying and she's like, wow, I didn't realize I was holding on to all these emotions. And anyway, she has a blood pressure cuff in her car because she is in the medical field and she checks it regularly. She's like, I'm gonna go out and after we are done, she's like, I'm gonna go check my blood pressure. And she goes out and checks and she's like, okay, I haven't even taken my medication today. And it's like low. I would expect it to be high. So over time she's just tracked every time she goes and gets a foot zone. She checks her blood pressure and it's low. She also goes to a chiropractor believe it or not and he even said one time he said, wow your hip was really easy to adjust today. Like have you done anything to it? And she says, well I just had a foot zone like an hour ago. He's like go get a foot zone before you come to the chiropractor because it actually helps me able to adjust your hip more. Your hips never been this easy to adjust. So anyway there's the... Brynne Erickson (05:52) Hmm. Wow. Julie Parry (06:06) That was one client, but it was pretty cool. Brynne Erickson (06:08) I love it. That's a great story. Yeah, let's, towards the end, let's come back to that. And if you have other fun stories to share, then let's do that. Okay, so you're on the treadmill, you go get a foot zone, your mind is blown, then what? Julie Parry (06:16) Okay, perfect. Yeah, so I'm gonna be honest with you. When you go get a foot zone, you go and you're gonna get a different result every time you go. Every client is different, every body is different. Whatever you're receptive to, whatever your body is willing to let go is what kind of shows up in a zone. And so the first time I went to a zone, I'm a very open person. So I'm a verbal releaser. And so I love to just talk stuff through. So as I'm talking through the zone, she's like, wow. Brynne Erickson (06:44) Yes. Julie Parry (06:52) your liver feels really heavy. And so she muscle tested and I don't know, a lot of people may not know what muscle testing is, but it's, there's a lot of different forms of muscle testing, but it's where you can connect with the person you're working on subconscious where you can figure out like I have a book that has a lot of emotions. So with the liver, there could be like 15 trapped emotions possibly in the liver. So what I do is I muscle test out of the 15, which trapped emotion needs to be addressed, which one's ready to be released. So my friend, ⁓ was muscle testing the emotion in the liver. And she said, resentment. And I never considered that I had resentment because I'm a very, I love people. I love connection. I love relationships. I just love, love, love, love, love. But I realized through the zone, getting zoned, that I was loving everybody else but myself. And it turned into resentment towards other people. So people who I... Brynne Erickson (07:47) I can see that, yeah. Julie Parry (07:49) So the people that I love the most, like I went into my first zone, I was not mad at anybody. I was just like loving everybody. The next two days, cause your feet actually, after the zone, you will still align and your body will still shift up to 48 hours after. So the next two days after my zone, I was actually like angry, like at certain people. And it wasn't, they didn't do anything wrong to me, but I was just like, I was angry. Brynne Erickson (08:18) Mmm. Julie Parry (08:19) And it was because I allowed, because I realized I was a people pleaser, that I allowed people to, I just made all my choices based on how it was making everybody else feel. So if someone needed me to do this thing, even though deep down I didn't want to do that thing or sign up for that thing, I did it anyway. And so I thought I was happy doing that. But really what starts showing up in my foot zone was like, had some resentment because I deep down there was a part of me that was just suffocating. That was like, there was this person inside me that was like, I'm in here, I'm in here. And yeah, just stuck. And so I started to set boundaries. So I started getting zoned once a month. I figured that was something that I could do for myself. I was like, well, I could go to therapy and, I could do this, but this is just as I'm talking all this through and. Brynne Erickson (08:49) Yeah. Yes. Yes. Hmm. Julie Parry (09:09) and I'm releasing physically, was that I was feeling physical touch, which that's one of my love languages. So I was getting touched and I was releasing and I'm like, this is perfect for me. so, so yeah, I realized I had boundary issues that I, yeah. Brynne Erickson (09:25) Has that been helpful? How have you been able to address that moving forward then? What did you do? Julie Parry (09:32) boundary was tricky because when you don't have boundaries and when you are a people pleaser, you don't have a voice. You bury your own voice. And so it gets uncomfortable before it gets better. So I had to realize that sometimes I had to start making decisions based on what was best for me. Because if I started going backwards and saying, okay, but If I make this choice and I stick up for myself and I say, no, this is where this ends and this is, it's gotta get better or whatever. I always start to go into my head and say, okay, well, if I make this decision, they're going to say this, this, this, and then they're going to act like this. And then it's going to make me feel that and then da da. So then I want to talk myself out of that. But then ultimately what it comes down to is like, wait a minute, I'm sacrificing my own happiness and peace. Like the inner peace that I do not feel for their happiness and peace. Like that just felt so. wrong to me, like inside. it was like, just have to start making little choices and start cutting the little cords and start kind of setting those boundaries and knowing that it was probably going to be ugly for a minute before it got better. And over time it, it's beautiful how it lays out because you start setting those boundaries and at first it's like, Whoa, who are you? What are you, what are you doing? Like, cause it makes them uncomfortable because they're used to how I normally react. Brynne Erickson (10:50) Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (10:55) But then they realized like, oh, this is okay. Like she can make these decisions and, but it is uncomfortable, then it's, they, you start to get this respect. don't demand respect, but you get this sort of people go, oh, this is what she needs and this is what she expects. And so I'm going to honor that and I'm going to love her in that. And yeah, cause I've always been told I was sensitive a lot. And I used to think it was a bad thing. Like, oh, you're just too sensitive. Cause I feel real deep. And so I've had to come to terms that, you know, like it's okay to feel stuff. And that was uncomfortable for people. And that's where one of the boundaries I had to set was like, no, no, I'm going to cry this through and I need to work it through and, it's okay. This is me. So. Brynne Erickson (11:32) It is. huh. Nice. I love it. All that such good work, Julie. I'm sure there are plenty of people listening that are recovering perfectionists and people pleasers too that would appreciate that. So thank you. And it definitely creates a lot of resentment because you don't and you don't even know who you are and you don't even know what desires are yours because you're always just catering to everyone else's. Julie Parry (11:46) Thank you. You're welcome. Yep. Yeah. And what's, what's, what's cool is the clients that come to me that have found me through way, like there's so many cool ways where people have found me where it's, it's not by coincidence that they found me, but there's a lot of people who, when I first started zoning and getting clients that kind of found me that had the same story that had the same problem. I problem, whatever you want to call it, but the same Brynne Erickson (12:09) Mm-hmm. I love it. Julie Parry (12:29) thing they were dealing with in life with a partner or family member or whoever. And I was like, wow, I kind of knew within 10 minutes of them sitting in my chair, in their chair that like, wow, I think I know why they're here. And that's the beautiful part of being vulnerable and sharing our stories is that we were here to help other people and God sends people our way who need our help to get through things. Brynne Erickson (12:43) Yes. I believe it. Now you mentioned ⁓ emotions that are ready to be released. Why would an emotion not be ready to be released? Julie Parry (13:07) I love that question because there's emotions that are in our body and so if someone's going through something specific like a hard time and they're working through a relationship issue with mom or dad or brother, sister, husband, spouse, whoever it is. So when it's not ready to be released it's because their body wants to hold on to it because it's protecting them. There's a reason that they're hanging on to it. So if I feel an emotion in the heart, sometimes I can feel like a little heart wall that's kind of building up in their heart. And sometimes it feels like it's cement. Sometimes it feels just like it's just kind of barely starting to get the brick and mortar, know, and so it'd be easier to knock down. But if someone has been hurt deeply by someone that they love, ⁓ they may have that little bit of a guard up, not really ready to release that. Sadness or the hurt that they felt and same with grief if you recently lost somebody due to death, you know ⁓ You're not ready. Let that go. It's still sir. It's still serving you sometimes emotion service but there are some times where emotions like resentments like why is that serving you and If you can ask the question why four times? Well, why well why you can usually get down to the root cause of why they're they're hanging on to that emotion and then they realize ⁓ This is not helping me. This is hindering me Brynne Erickson (14:27) Hmm. Julie Parry (14:28) So sometimes, and there's times where I'll try to help someone, I can kind of feel what sometimes when an emotion's tight and wound up and when it's starting to loosen, when they start to talk or when it starts to be ready to release. And if it's not ready to be released, just, I'll say, you know what? this might be ready next time, but you're hanging on to this for some reason. You're not letting me in and that's okay, but just consider that you might be hanging on to this for something. And so, and the awareness, and that's the beautiful thing about the zone is you give people awareness. You're not there to fix them. You're not there to heal them. I don't call myself a healer. I am not there to fix. I just bring them what I feel and what I muscle test. And sometimes I hear words that Heavenly Father wants me to say. Brynne Erickson (14:58) Yes. Julie Parry (15:14) And so sometimes randomly I'll say, don't know why, but this has come to my head three times. I'm just going to say it. If it resonates with you, great. If not, we can figure out why it's come into my mind. But every time it resonates with them. So I just try to be really in tune and, but yeah. Brynne Erickson (15:29) I love that. So after you got your own foot zone and you love this work, how did you become a foot zoner yourself? Julie Parry (15:39) this is one of my favorite stories because I was working with my husband. I love my husband doing it and we worked so well together. ⁓ But there were some people in our office that I found I didn't work well with and learning more about personalities and different, I did all the tests and stuff. I realized like, ⁓ so and so is a one, I'm a two, my husband's a three. And okay, we might bite heads, but we all can bring something to the table, you know. But there was so many things I was discovering about myself through this. getting zoned that I found my voice. And there was just certain things where I was feeling, I don't want to make this sound like sexist writing, but I was feeling like I was in a man. I was trying to like make mine, use my strengths in a place that no one was accepting them. It was almost like I was trying to say, well, if we could treat people this way and if we could implement this and if we could do this, the employees might be happier. This, you know, I was Brynne Erickson (16:36) Yeah, Julie Parry (16:37) I was trying to use my voice. Yeah. And I wanted Brynne Erickson (16:37) you're operating from you masculine more than you're feminine. Yeah. Julie Parry (16:42) to bring my feminine, but I would, kept getting shot down, you know? And there were times where there were times where it was like, I probably should have listened to her, you know? And that's okay. But I felt like I was trying so hard to prove myself in an environment that was, I wasn't getting anywhere. And I just felt like a hamster in a hamster wheel. And I was working like sometimes up to my, see my body is actually reacting when I talk about this story, because it's. Brynne Erickson (16:44) Mm-hmm. Hmm. Julie Parry (17:06) It was a very, ⁓ like it's to like shake. It's okay. I've worked through it, but maybe there's still something there. I love that our body communicates. Okay. So, ⁓ so I, I found that I was just overwhelmed. I was wearing five hats. I was the office manager. I was HR. I didn't plan on that, but I ended up being HR. I have a safe place for people. So I'm HR. I write all the personal lines insurance in the office. I helped all the agents outside of Utah in Utah. Brynne Erickson (17:08) stressful. Yes. Yes. Julie Parry (17:36) with the systems and how to operate their agencies. So I was kind of wearing lots of hats and my daughter got her mission called Oregon. And we thought as a family, Hey, let's go on this, let's go to Oregon. And I thought I've never been to Oregon and I've heard it's beautiful. So let's, let's go there and let's go on this family vacation for a whole week. And at the time my son Jackson was in the ⁓ Congo on his mission. So we had my two daughters, my in-laws and Russ, we fly into Oregon and all my emails are being forwarded to other girls in the office, which is never a thing. Like I usually have some sort of access to something and I didn't. It was like we land in Oregon and we rent a car and we're driving along the coast and we're in, we're driving by the ocean and we're by the mountains and the temperature, I love the mid seventies is perfect for me. And I just remember feeling like, I feel so much peace. And I thought this is not real. Like, Brynne Erickson (18:32) Wow. Julie Parry (18:33) this is not real, like you can't, like how am I feeling this much peace? And so I started having a conversation in my head and I was like, wow, I wanna feel this all the time. And of course, know, if you think about devil and angel on your shoulder, cause devil, it was like, but you can't feel this much peace, you gotta go back to work. If you feel peace, that means you're lazy because the only way to feel peace is to do nothing. And I'm like, no, that's not right. So this whole trip, I mean, it's kind of quiet in the car, but it was very peaceful and very, all my loved ones were with me. Brynne Erickson (18:53) Mmm. Nice. Julie Parry (19:02) So I found myself like having this conversation for the full vacation. Like what? Like I want to feel this peace forever. This is amazing. And I remember just starting to pray to Heavenly Father, just in the car. Like Heavenly Father, I know you put me in this on this earth to do more than save people money on their car insurance, which is fun, but it's not that fun. You know, there's more to life than that. So. Brynne Erickson (19:28) Yeah. Julie Parry (19:31) I was like, I know. And I started to, it was almost like a movie reel playing in my mind of all the past things that I used to do before I started working in crazy shifts and crazy hours. I used to check up on neighbors. I used to call my mom all the time. I would check up on my sisters. would sign up for the, to bake things for people who are sick in the ward. I I used to take care of my disabled neighbor and all of that went away after I started working. And Brynne Erickson (19:43) Yeah. Julie Parry (19:59) And I loved working too, so don't get me wrong, but I started to replay all these things that I used to do, but I no longer was doing. mean, was dodging people at the market place because I was so strapped for time all the time. I had no time for anything. was like, I just wanted to go home after work to do nothing. So I would see people in the store. Sorry for those of you listening to have seen me and I dodged you, but I used to dodge people in a store because I just, can't, I couldn't have another conversation with another human being. Brynne Erickson (20:05) Mm-hmm. ⁓ Wow. Julie Parry (20:27) did not have time or the energy. And so all these things started playing in my head. And I was like, I miss that though. Those are that that's what makes me tick. That's what makes me happy. That is fuel to my gas tank. Like that is what gets me going every day. And that part of me was dead. It was gone. And I started to mourn that. I was like, wow, where is she? So I started praying to my father. I'm like, I know you have something more for me to do. Like I know there is something more. And I heard it three times, this thought voice, whatever you want to call it. It was like, there's something for you. It's bigger than you'll know what to do with, but there's a purpose for it and you need to get on board. It was as plain as day. And so I kind of have this excited feeling of like, there's something, right? So as we end our trip, we get home on a Saturday and... Brynne Erickson (21:16) That's awesome. Yeah. Julie Parry (21:25) Then there's Sunday and then Monday's back to the daily grind. So on Sunday, I'm just praying really hard. And it was kind of one of those prayers where I was kind of demanding. wasn't like, heavenly father. was K heavenly father. Like, yeah, Monday, Monday's come in and it's gonna be back to the daily grind. So whatever it is you have for me, I need you to throw it in my face. I need you to throw it right in my face. And I kind of demanded. then I, Monday comes around and I go to work and it's Brynne Erickson (21:33) Yeah, I need this and yeah. Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (21:52) nine to six o'clock and of course we have no groceries because we were out town. So I went to Costco, Walmart by the time I got home and unloaded and fixed dinner. It was like 10 o'clock at night I think by the time and I was just exhausted and we say this funny thing at my house where I'm like, oh, it's Groundhog's Day. It's like same thing every day. And I kind of mumbled it and then just kind of laughed about it. And the next day Russ was out ministering and I was home alone. was at a wedding and I... Brynne Erickson (21:56) Mm-hmm. Hmm. Julie Parry (22:21) just happened to scroll through my phone, which I don't, I'm not a big scroller, but I was scrolling and I know a foot zoner who, ⁓ her little story bubble popped up and I thought, that's a beautiful picture of her. And so I just felt inclined to click on it. I was just like, ⁓ I wonder what she's up to. And it was like, hey, I'm teaching foot zoning. My classes start in October, which is it was a month away. And it was like, someone lit a fire inside my body. It was like fireworks going off. It was like, ⁓ I literally was in my kitchen like, ⁓ my gosh, I want to do this class. I didn't realize at the time that's what it was that he was wanting me to do shortly after I did. But I was like, my gosh, I got to do this. It was almost like this knowing of like, why wouldn't I? I have experience with the zone. It's changed my life. Why wouldn't I do this? And so normally I would talk to Russ and I would say, hey, you know. Brynne Erickson (22:50) Hmm. Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (23:17) There's this opportunity. I don't know if it's going to interfere with work or not, or, know, the financial part, financial part of it. No, I didn't even normally would talk myself on all of that. I'm like, it's just not the right time. No, I didn't. I sent my down payment before Russ even got home. I signed the paper, sent the deposit, all the things. And when he got home, I said, this is what I'm doing. He said, makes perfect sense. Like, yeah, I was like, awesome. And then Grace comes home and it was the cutest thing. This was the coolest, one of the coolest parts about it. She gets home from her. Brynne Erickson (23:26) Yeah. Hmm. You Julie Parry (23:47) wedding that she went to and I just said, Christ, guess what I'm doing? And I told her, as I'm telling her, she's crying. And I'm like, why are you crying? She's like, mom, last night when you said it was Groundhog's Day, she said, I went down and I said a prayer specific for you because you have just always taken care of us and you've always done things for everybody else. You don't work with dad, you just always do things for everybody else. I prayed that you would find something that would make you happy and that would bring you joy. And so that was another witness. I'm like, okay, yeah. Brynne Erickson (24:13) Wow. Julie Parry (24:17) So that's how I started to go through the process of learning. It was just this no brainer. It was almost like this knowing like, yeah, there was no hesitation whatsoever. No hesitation. So, yeah. Thank you. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (24:17) Sheesh. Mm. that is such a good story. I can see why you love it so much. that just, to me, it just proves the power of going inward and being like, who do I want to be? Like, what is missing in my life? What do I want more of in my life? And like you were going to church amidst all the busyness, right? Which you would think is a time for quiet and reflection, but let's be real. How often is it truly the time and place for that? At least it's not for me in my world with three little kids right now, as much as I would love it to be. But it sometimes takes a lot more intention than just going to church. And even at church, you've got people that you need to talk to and connect with, and you've got callings and assignments that you need to fulfill. And it's more just like another thing to do. Julie Parry (25:07) Yeah. Brynne Erickson (25:25) like going to work and getting the groceries, right? And cooking dinner for your family. That it doesn't become a time for respite and reflection. And we need to create those moments other times than at church or in a temple or someplace like that. So I think this is a big plug for making time for quiet and reflection. Julie Parry (25:25) Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh, if that's one thing I can help try to help people with it's you have to find that time. And the stillness looks different for everybody, right? Some people can't necessarily go and go on a trip to Oregon, you know, but some people it's just, I just need to be in the bathroom by myself for a five minutes, you know, but honestly, I. Brynne Erickson (26:01) Yeah. Julie Parry (26:08) Stillness for me. I'm more I feel more in tune with the spirit even being alone for five minutes going on my walks everywhere with my husband I'm in tune with nature. I set the intention for the day. We say a prayer together. I This the spirit and how many fathers speak to us in so many different ways but because I'm open to it and because I I am yoked with him I'm constantly feeling him in all things my I'll get chills. I'll get Brynne Erickson (26:23) yeah. Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (26:35) she was in my head, I lost the different things to where I'm like, just, I know that that's the spirit and I just had to start recognizing it. Cause he's all, it's all, I feel like it's there. We just, sometimes we're not in tune to know because of all the busyness of life that we don't feel it as often, but it's there. So. Brynne Erickson (26:47) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm with you and I know a lot of other people and of different faiths and beliefs would talk about that energy or those vibrations and other forms. But for you and I, we accredited it as a spirit and a guide of some sort. And I think that that that's what works for me and you. And I think it's pretty cool, but I do think no one is excluded and whoever, however you choose to, ⁓ name that in, you know, Julie Parry (27:21) Yeah. Brynne Erickson (27:22) that insight that you get. Julie Parry (27:23) And I have clients that, yeah, and I have clients that actually have, that don't believe in a God or, and I just, you know, I just, it works out how it's supposed to work out. You know, I just kind of, speak each other, I speak their language and, you know, I just talk on their level and wherever they're at so that I can respect where they're at because. That's how else better to be. don't know. I don't know. we just love each other that just loving each other, right? And just showing up for one another. So. Brynne Erickson (27:56) Mm-hmm. Yeah, absolutely, and helping and sharing. So cool. So at what point did you start practicing and sharing your gift with people? Julie Parry (28:09) So after I learned the complete zone, the course was that I took was seven months. And after the fifth month is when I learned the complete zone. I started throughout that whole month, those months I was practicing on people, know, but once I learned the entire zone, I was able to like have clients come and charge them like a student fee until I graduated. That's when I started charging my full price, but I started to build up clientele. So yeah, it was probably like, yeah, seven, eight months in until after school started about seven, eight months. Brynne Erickson (28:12) Okay. Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (28:38) That's when I started building up my clientele and sharing that. Brynne Erickson (28:40) Cool, so were you pretty open about telling people like, hey, you should come and get a FET zone from me? Julie Parry (28:48) You know that practice ones were easy. You know it was on one through four. It was like, hey I need to practice on people. So that was easy. But once I started charging that was harder because comparison is the thief of joy. So you know when you're in a class full of lots of people, lots of people have different gifts and strengths, right? Some people are more intuitive in certain ways. Some people are intuitive with the physical body. Some are intuitive with emotions. And it's easy to want to compare yourself to other people. Brynne Erickson (29:07) Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (29:17) and their gifts and strengths. And so, you know, when my instructor was charging 65 for a zone, at graduation was like, I can't charge 65. I'm not as good as her. And I was like, is that true? You know, through the zone, it helped me realize like, no, I'm worthy of, you know, but you do have that little bit of a struggle. Brynne Erickson (29:31) Mmm. Julie Parry (29:39) totally Brynne Erickson (29:40) Yeah, so it's so interesting how money, once we start asking for it, it dictates all of our abilities, which is so interesting. So did you just kind of? Julie Parry (29:51) Yes. Brynne Erickson (29:55) Like how did you get over that? And just being like, no, I really am worth X amount of money and people are going to love my offer so much and how I help them that they're gonna pay it and keep coming back. Like what was your little pep talk or how did you get to that point? Julie Parry (30:13) I had an instructor, the teacher who was amazing. She always told us, you know, time and time again, intention overrides technique. Once you learn the zone, the zone is the zone is the zone. We are just the tool. So the client shows up. If they're open and willing to receive, they're going to receive something, right? I'm not a healer. I'm not. So I realized, you know what, if I forget a spot in the zone on a client, well, I don't have to have it memorized, you know, once you get it memorized, you, if they leave and you're like, wow, I forgot to do the heart, huh? I always just chalk it up as maybe they didn't need that spot today. But I just had to realize that, you know what? The zone is the zone and it's going to help them regardless. And I don't have to be as good as so-and-so. I know the exact same moves as they do. I'm going to discover my own strengths and gifts throughout the journey and it'll come and it's, and it's going to be fine. And I had to literally let. those thoughts just go because it's so easy just to compare and but I yeah it was just one thing I just literally had to let go like no I'm trying and I started seeing my value in it too because it takes time and it takes energy so when you're with people and if they talk a lot it and you're working with them a lot and you're just you're literally pulling energy from their feet it can weigh on you so there's boundaries you have to kind of set up with a bubble and you set your intentions and Brynne Erickson (31:12) Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Julie Parry (31:38) so you don't take on their stuff, which is a practice in itself to learn how to do. But until you can do that, it kind of can weigh heavy on you. ⁓ yeah, so I was like, no, this is this, no matter the zone is the zone. So I'm, it's worthy of charge. It's worthy of clients. I'm worthy of what I do. Brynne Erickson (31:56) Very cool. Yeah, and I'm sure the more that you practiced, the more like evidence that you had that, yeah, this really is helping people and I really do love this and I am good at this. Julie Parry (32:07) And you know, I love words of affirmation. So it's always fun to get that text back from a client the next day or the next day. And I like to do follow ups, but sometimes people will just, oh my gosh. And they will tell me their miracle, tell me what they experienced. it just, so if I am having doubts in any way, or form, that is just, oh, okay. I'm good. That helped somebody and the zone helps somebody. So. Brynne Erickson (32:10) Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. ⁓ Can you work on people that are skeptical though and completely closed off? Can you still make a difference? Julie Parry (32:40) Yes, so I worked on a gentleman that was I think he's close to 50 now and he says I'm here because my wife told me that I needed to try it and I'm like so what's going on and he's like he comes to my house and he's like well on Monday I'm going to a doctor I got shoulder pain I got this and I got this and I got this he told me like seven physical things and I'm thinking at that point I was more confident in my emotional zoning which I still am. Brynne Erickson (32:53) You Yeah. Julie Parry (33:08) But was like, ⁓ boy, okay, so you're having lots of, so my first thought is, wow, there's emotional stuff here. And a lot of people can't wrap their heads around that. They think that the physical is what's happening, but whenever there's dis-ease in our body, dis-disease, dis-ease, it stems from emotion. So emotions that are stored cause our physical pain. Our physical body manifests. when there's dis-ease in our body. So our body is basically saying when our knees are hurting and our hips are hurting for no reason, I mean we didn't fall and they're just hurting, our body is lovingly telling us, hey, pay attention to me, something's off. Remember eating that food and we're hurting or hey, thank you body for telling me, for warning me that this might be something that I need to be aware of, you know? So this gentleman comes in, he's thinking I'm gonna tell him that there's a certain spot on his shoulder that I was able to tell him a muscle, all the things and I'm just like. I didn't know this at the time. So I'm zoning him and I'm on his right foot and that's your more masculine side where you would feel things. I would feel things on the client's foot for their physical self. So what their life experience is, what they're feeling. The right side is more, or excuse me, the left side is more of your spiritual feminine side. So that's where you might tend to hold things for other people. ⁓ So I'm on his, we usually start on the right foot. It's not a rule, but it's what we usually do. And so I started on his right foot and I'm feeling these things and it was like, hey, so do you experience this? And he's like, and I didn't know that he didn't know I was an emotional zoner. I figured it was why I filled him in because I had zoned his wife and kids. he's just like, I'm like, so tell me about this emotion on the liver, whatever emotion it was. And he's like, no, no, that's a red, no, don't think, no, no, I don't think so. And I'm thinking, I know so though. Like, it was like, this is it. Like I, I muscles, you know, I trust it. And he just was. Brynne Erickson (34:59) Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (35:01) not open at all. And so I was like, okay, this is one of those things that my instructor warned us about that some people may come and they're just, they're skeptical and they, they're going to receive something. So physically they're going to align somehow, but it's like an, it's like an onion. You, you, you just generally peel away each layer as they're ready and as it comes. And so, but I get on the left foot and all of sudden his whole body is just like more relaxed and he's just kind of like this. And this happens on the left side a lot. And all of sudden I start talking about emotions on that side that I felt. And all of sudden he's in tears. He's like, I don't know what you're doing. He says, I don't know, I'm crying. Like don't ever cry. Like no one sees me cry. I don't know what was happening here, but you're like, it's okay. Like I say, like you're just releasing emotions. And I said, you don't have, and people don't have to talk about stuff. Like that's one thing I think people think about foot zoning is they have to divulge everything and that we can tell the future and that we can tell like. Brynne Erickson (35:47) Great. Okay. Mmm. Julie Parry (35:55) Mistakes they've made in the thing. No, no, no, we just feel an emotion and we present it to you and you You take with what what you want and some people will text me days later and say you know that thing you told me about It didn't I didn't think about it until now, but I know what it means now. I like so it's really cool You just trust what you feel and be out of sky start crying. But yeah, there are skeptics that Come you know, this is this is crap. I don't know. I don't know. I don't believe this but well, you know, but Brynne Erickson (35:57) Hmm. Yeah, yeah. Julie Parry (36:25) But they do receive a cool miracle. Like lot of times, and I always pray with intention before people come that they'll receive what they're ready for and what Heavenly Father wants to have them receive and that their body will align how it's meant to align. And that I will just be the conduit to be able to help in any way I can. But the zone is what's, I'm just the tool. So, but yeah, there are skeptics for sure. Brynne Erickson (36:46) Yeah. I love that. And I think it's cool that people don't have to speak with like with therapy and, ⁓ counseling, like that's an integral part. Like you kind of have to do that. Whereas this foot zoning, can kind of just be present and listen to the foot zoner and then internalize it as, as a part of your session. So that's cool. I didn't realize that, but that makes sense. Julie Parry (37:12) Yeah, and it's kind of, know, where I'm so, where I've usually my first, lot of my clients were very like communicated a lot to me and were open. I remember my first client that was a female that came that wasn't talkative. Like I would say, wow, your shoulder feels heavy. Like, and I said in emotion, she's like, oh yeah, okay, let me just relax for a minute. And so you just kind of start, I started paying attention to like not every client is a talker. And so I love that the zone teaches me things about people too. Like, oh, she may not verbally be comfortable talking. So. Brynne Erickson (37:20) Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Julie Parry (37:42) She just lets me do the releasing and she feels better. She sleeps better. So there's no wrong or right way to even zone. It's just, you literally do the moves and they receive what they need. It's just beautiful. And I don't ever force people to talk. just, you read the room kind of in a way, right? You read the person and you're like, they must not want to be a talker, you know? And sometimes it's the fourth time they're coming and they're like, Brynne Erickson (37:52) Yeah. Julie Parry (38:10) All of they're like open to talk. So they have, some people just have to get comfortable with you. So. Brynne Erickson (38:14) Right. And when we talk about, when you say moves on the foot, like what could someone expect with you handling their feet? Like what might, what would that entail? How can you verbally tell the audience that? Julie Parry (38:22) ⁓ So, okay, so we start with, it's kind of like we start externally and then work inward. So like the first part of the zone, I'm basically just doing little circular motions or straight up lines. It's like a very, like it's like a massage. It's like getting a facial on the feet. And so there's very intentional moves. So I'm working lymphatic system of your lower body, lymphatic system from your waist up. I'm working your sinuses, I'm working your eyes, your ears, and all of those have emotions and all of those have spiritual functions. So. Brynne Erickson (38:41) There you go. Yeah. Julie Parry (38:57) we get to address all the things. so whatever comes up, we don't want to give, there's a zone flu. There's something called the zone flu. So depending on how much someone's open to release, like some people will actually need a rest day the next day. They're like physically or their, their bowels are working so well that they have to take a sick day because they can't stay in bathroom because, but it's a good thing, right? It's a very, they're, they're physically releasing stuff they're holding onto that they're emotionally are trying to process. And so Brynne Erickson (39:03) Wow. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (39:23) So yeah, we work on the lymphatic system, then we start working into the organs and the, you know, we just, oh, it's amazing. We work every part of the body. And so it's just a good massage, but it's very intentional. Every move is intentional. It's not just, just, don't just like, oh, rub. It's no, it's, there are certain techniques and moves and very relaxing and people with ticklish feet will say, I can't have my feet touch. And everyone who has said that is like, they're so relaxed. Like, wow, this is so different than what I thought. Brynne Erickson (39:38) Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's different. Okay, awesome. And we've kind of talked about some of your obstacles that you've had to overcome with your own thought process regarding it. But is there anything else that comes to mind? Anything specific? Julie Parry (40:06) like obstacles. Well, I would say an obstacle for me and it's more of a personal obstacle. But you know, unfortunately, not the whole world hasn't caught on to this shift that's happening with this Eastern medicine. And so like, for instance, I went into a rock shop when I was in Arizona, and I was so excited because I just felt like grabbing these certain rocks. And then the lady checking me out was like, Oh, I need to cleanse your rocks before you go. And I know what that means. But a lot of people don't know what that means. So I'm excited about it. And I'm Brynne Erickson (40:17) Yeah. Julie Parry (40:35) telling these people that I've met on this business trip with my husband, like, yeah, and then she cleansed my rocks and russians like, honey, honey, they don't, they don't know what you're talking about. Like, and so it's almost like, I like, I have a small group of people that I can talk to. So it's almost like when I start talking emotions or when my husband's like, my shoulders are like, well, we should probably go to the book of emotions. Let's figures, you know, and he's very open to it now. But at first he was just like, Julie, Julie. So I just kind of feel like my gifts are not Brynne Erickson (40:43) Yeah. ⁓ Yeah. Yes. You Julie Parry (41:03) they're well received to a certain audience and a certain group of people. I just, that's why I love teaching the zones because I want, I think every house needs to have a foot zoner and because it is just, it's such a beautiful thing. And so yeah, that's an obstacle I'm trying to overcome. And I'm working on a client who had a double lung transplant and his team of doctors are asking him like, you know, how he, how he recovered so well. He's like, Brynne Erickson (41:22) Wow. Julie Parry (41:30) he's an anomaly at the University of Utah of how fast he's recovered. Like people don't recover that fast. So starts like, what are you doing? And he was really scared to tell them that he had a foot zoner because he's even scared of some pushback that he's getting from neighbors and people like, you believe in that stuff? That's weird. So, and he's receiving so many beautiful gifts in that zone, in the zones I give him once a week. And, and so, you know, sometimes I don't think this kind of work gets enough. Brynne Erickson (41:46) Yeah. Julie Parry (41:59) I don't know if that's the right word, it's kind of positive. Yes, thank you. Positive attention that it deserves because it's almost like I'm doing this amazing thing that God has given me to do to help people. And it's kind of like, and I think that's where my spiritual experience happened in Oregon where it was like, hey, there's a big need for this in the future. And you just need to jump on board. it's like, I almost feel like it wasn't, it's something that's not well known now, it's, but hang on because. Brynne Erickson (42:01) Positive attention maybe. Yeah. Yeah. Julie Parry (42:28) It's gonna, yeah. So that's just something I'm personally overcoming, the fact that not everybody knows about it, not everyone loves to talk emotion, or they're not everyone like, so. Brynne Erickson (42:36) Yeah. Well, and talking emotions is kind of a newer thing. Like even within my lifetime, I feel like I was born into, we don't talk about emotions. And now in my thirties, it's like, actually we need to talk about our feelings and our thoughts. Like maybe we should just talk about ourselves and our desires. And it's a real thing. And I love it. I'm here for it. Cause I'm with you. think Heavenly Father gave us Julie Parry (42:54) Anyway... Brynne Erickson (43:05) everything to help us like all of it. Emotions are just an integral part of our bodies as every other physical part of our body. Julie Parry (43:18) Yeah. Well, I had a cool story about that, about the emotions. There was a relationship that I was worried about. There was something that happened in a relationship I was in with a friend that was a big change. And I didn't know how our relationship was going to move forward with this difference in our life now. I didn't want it to change because I love this person dearly. And I remember feeling physically, my kidney was just Brynne Erickson (43:19) So I am here for it. Okay, let's hear it. Julie Parry (43:48) screaming. It was hurting so bad. And on my first thought was, okay, have I had enough water today? I'm like, yes, I have. I was like, wow, why is my kidney screaming at me? So I went to my emotional book and I muscle tested an emotion. And I can't remember exactly what the emotion was, but it led me to think, ⁓ it was something about a relation, fear of a relationship, fear of something in a relationship. And it was like ding, ding, ding. I knew exactly what it was. And so I worked on it, released that emotion, just like, okay. Brynne Erickson (44:08) Yeah. Julie Parry (44:16) I see you, hear you, I feel you, like it's okay. Everything's going to be okay. We're good. Like, thank you for telling me. And it went away for a couple of weeks and it came back. So I sat with it, just literally sat on my couch for a few minutes to think, okay, why is this kidney pain back? Cause kidney is where you hold fear, fear type of motion. So I was like, what am I fearing in this? Is it that relationship that I'm fearing? Brynne Erickson (44:20) Mm-hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Julie Parry (44:42) I thought I cleared that like what it's so there was still, I was still hanging on to that beard because I wasn't done with it yet. I was, it was serving a purpose for me because I, so I ultimately came down to the conclusion where I needed to talk to this person and I needed to verbally say, Hey, I know there's this difference now. How can we navigate this relationship with this new, this new thing? And we had the most loving conversation about how to navigate. And it's like, nothing has changed. And so we just set boundaries with each other, like how we can lovingly move forward with this relationship and love each other with even our differences. And my kidney pain has not come back. I mean, for that reason, like there might've been other things that have come back for fear, but that kidney pain went away. So our physical bodies, it doesn't always have to be, I have a kidney stone or I need, know, sometimes there is those physical things, but. I usually address the emotions first because I know that's how my body takes on stuff. That's why my physical body hurts a lot of times because I physically feel a lot of emotions from others, from myself. And that's what I always address first. yeah, my physical body feels great when I address it. Brynne Erickson (45:54) Yeah. I love it. Yeah. I keep saying that emotions are just information. And I love that once you figured that out, you were able to be honest and vulnerable. And that usually tends to have better results when we're honest and vulnerable, which is a hard thing to do. Julie Parry (46:15) Yeah, I've learned that that that vulnerability is very hard and I've learned to embrace it and because why not help other people with Share what we know share what we feel? Show the hard right? Because that's what Christ did ultimately when he was on the earth. Yeah, that's what he did He sought out the people who he and that's what a lot of empaths and people who are in energy work do like and in the Brynne Erickson (46:28) Yeah. Julie Parry (46:42) Eastern medicine and the healing route, they tend to see the need. They can sense the energy in a room. They can see when someone feels sad. Some people don't have that gift. And so when you see it, and that's how Christ did it, he sought out the one. He saw the ones that needed the extra love and he went after them. That was his job. That was what he did. So I figure with us being vulnerable, like we have these hard times in life and that's, it's Brynne Erickson (47:03) you Julie Parry (47:10) I've learned through all the hard, I've been through a lot of hard and you know, we're taught that like there's good and bad. And I've ultimately come to my own realization that, you know, I've made some choices and they were hard, but I came out a way better person coming through, like working through all of it stronger than I ever would have if I hadn't have made that choice, even though it sucked and I would never want that. Brynne Erickson (47:27) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Julie Parry (47:39) want to go down that road again or whatever, like fill that again. So it's just, we make choices and we're here to help each other through them. Because if life was easy and we didn't make any wrong choices, who are we here to help? Brynne Erickson (47:53) Yeah. Right. if there, yeah, if no one had any hard things, there would be no reason to help. So there has to be that contrast. There has to be opposites in all things, whether we like it or not. Like it's an integral part and you're going to make mistakes because that's just part of the plan. Like literally you're meant to make mistakes. Julie Parry (47:56) You know, and. Yep, yes. Yep, yes. Yep, it's how we come out of those and how we, know, must write what I'm looking for. It's how we can choose to let it hinder us or help us and grow. it's our choice, it's a choice. And there's people all along the way to help us work through it. We're not alone, ever, ever, ever alone. Brynne Erickson (48:28) Pro. absolutely. Right, and I'm team helper. Like, how can I help? How can I support? How can I love? How can I lift? I think it's more fun that way. Julie Parry (48:45) Yes. And I feel that from you. really do all the time. like, she, you've loved, I just feel that from you. Yeah, in a genuine way, you know? yeah. Well, thank you. Brynne Erickson (48:49) You you're so sweet, Julie. ⁓ You're so sweet. I do love it. Have you gotten much criticism from people regarding foot zoning? ⁓ that's good. Julie Parry (49:03) Um, not to my face, but, but yeah, but maybe like, like, Oh, you're doing what Julie does. Like, Oh, that's crazy. Or, you know, but, but no, not, not any criticism, but sometimes like I'll get a little made fun of, even by family sometimes, you know, like when I'm pulling oils and, and Jackson just kind of rolling his eyes, like, whatever Mike, whatever Jackson, whatever, you know? And so, you know, what I've learned through that when people are skeptical, when there's a little bit of like, Brynne Erickson (49:14) Mm. Hahaha Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (49:34) I'm like, you know what? They just don't know yet. Like, they just don't know. And one day they'll receive their miracle. One day they'll understand it. But I'm so confident in it and how it helps people that it's just a matter of time. like, it doesn't even ruffle my feathers because I know the importance of it and what it does for people. so I just think, they'll have their time while they understand it. But it's okay if they don't. Brynne Erickson (50:02) Cool. Yeah. Julie Parry (50:03) Like it says nothing about me. So yeah. Brynne Erickson (50:06) good. Good. Good. And then have you ever come up with like anything regarding religion and your gift? Has ever gotten complicated or no? Julie Parry (50:20) No, I mean, I've just had a couple clients that have come that will say, oh, I've either left the church or I don't believe in the God and they know that I'm religious. And so I just honor them where they're at. And so I don't ever push anything and I'll say higher power or whatever they like to refer to. But yeah, I've never had any. Yeah, I don't think I've ever tried to think of I have. Brynne Erickson (50:44) And no, but you know how it's kind of like woo wooey? Like, I don't wanna say like witchcrafty, but that's kind of more where I was going. Like, has anyone been like, no Julie, this is like dangerous or harmful? Like, has anyone ever said that too? Julie Parry (50:49) Mm-hmm. No, not in my circle. So there's other schools that kind of operate on that where they think, it can hurt people or you don't zone people after a surgery and stuff like that. I don't, you know, we get what energy we put out. So whatever we give out to the universe, we get back. So I think that's why I don't draw a lot of clients that Brynne Erickson (51:07) Okay. Mm. I believe that. Julie Parry (51:30) I draw a lot of clients that are like-minded or I mean they might have different beliefs but like it just works and I think it's because I don't put out that intention of like what if I get somebody who is this and I don't know how to work on them. I don't ever put out the scarcity of like who I might get. No I think of like I want to help whoever is ready and who I can help with my gifts like what I have to offer whoever needs me like let them find me. Let them find me. Brynne Erickson (51:55) Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (51:59) So that's how I put it out there. So some zones are a little different from other zones, depending on what we talk about and if they believe in a God or Christ or whatever. ⁓ But it's beautiful because it just shows you like, God loves people no matter what. Like it doesn't matter. He loves everyone. So it doesn't, yeah. So I just, like I said, the zone is just a tool. And that's one thing I love about it is he's allowed me to see people the way he sees them and I don't know if that sounds braggadocious or if it sounds weird. I don't know how to explain it any other way though. But when you sit with people and they're hard and you realize that everyone has their hard and you just sit there and when they're crying and they're divulging their stuff and they're just aching for a relationship that they haven't talked to someone for years and they yearn for that relationship connection and you just feel it. just. You hold space for them on their feet and you love them. And it's a beautiful thing. There is no judgment. There is no like, you should be doing this or why this or why did your daughter say that or what? There is none of that. It's everyone has their side of the story. Everyone has their experience, their emotions, how they interpret things. And there's no shame in that. There's no shame in feeling it how you feel it. There's no shame in it. Brynne Erickson (53:01) Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (53:22) you can take a situation and everyone could feel something different from that situation. Like a movie, I could go to the same movie you go to and I could literally hate it for a reason. You'd be like, that was the best movie ever. Are you crazy? And I'm like, well, no, don't, you know, so it's, that's what I love about the zone is I've realized that everyone has their hard and there, yeah, no judgment. Brynne Erickson (53:28) Absolutely. Yep. I once heard that we are all healing from something too. No one is exempt from that. Julie Parry (53:54) And there's generational work too. I mean, we do carry generational work. so I've loved learning more about that. My last class I taught wanted to learn more about generational. So I studied and studied and worked hard and learned so much about generational. So yeah, there's stuff that we come with that we just come with through, wasn't ours or we come with from childhood, from childbirth. mean, I came with a twin. Brynne Erickson (53:57) Yes. Wasn't ours. Mm-hmm, you inherit. Julie Parry (54:23) my sister needed blood transfusion. They didn't know why I was even coming until I was born. They're like, there's another one. And my mom and dad were like, what the heck? Yeah. Yeah. So, like we all come with, or, what moms feel when mom, if moms had an emotional upset or emotional stuff during pregnancy, baby can feel that and bring that on. There's no, it's not a bad thing. And moms, we, we shame ourselves and be like, I, I can't live. Like, you know, I feel so bad. gave you, know, like, no, it's a part of life. It's just, Brynne Erickson (54:27) I didn't know that. my gosh. I believe it. Yeah. Hmm. Julie Parry (54:54) It's how we all love and it's how we all navigate and it's how we all show up for one another and we just work through it. We're all working through it. All of it together. Brynne Erickson (55:04) And I love the more of us join on team help and love and lift, the more we can all move to the side of healing and or healed instead of just constantly being hurt all the time and carrying and suppressing and all of the hard things in our lives. And if we are willing to allow people to help us. in whatever way, whether it's foot zoning or religion or spirituality or whatever works for all of us, there's lots of different ways to find peace and healing. Julie Parry (55:45) Yeah. And you know, I love to set my intention for the day to help, help someone help my eyes see someone, whether it be just a smile that they need or a thought to text somebody, you know, it's, I just think the world could just be such ⁓ a more happy place and heal from all the stuff that's happening in the world. If we could all just look for one person to, to Genuinely help not as a chore not as like I have to do this thing but as a who can I see today? You know because that's what Christ did he saw the one you know he sees the one and goes and helps and When we can do that for other people we heal ourselves when we help others we truly heal and It's it's awesome Brynne Erickson (56:28) Yes. Yeah, the loving others was not so much for other people as it was for ourselves. Julie Parry (56:40) Yes, and that's something I've learned a lot about with that was, wow, like, how can I love others if I can't love myself? I don't have to love myself first because that's been a cool journey for me to go on as well. Like as women, especially because we're taught, you know, and not just women, but, know, we got to care for everybody, everybody, everybody. And somehow along the way we forgot ourselves and I can show up much better for people when I've done something for me in the day. Brynne Erickson (57:03) Hmm. Same. Julie Parry (57:10) or right so can better give. Yeah. Brynne Erickson (57:11) Yeah, totally. Awesome. What's one nugget ⁓ that you've learned from accepting and sharing your gift? Anything come to mind? Julie Parry (57:25) one nugget that I've learned. Say that one more time. Brynne Erickson (57:29) Is there anything in particular that you've learned from accepting and sharing your gift? Like any little nuggets of wisdom or insight or? Julie Parry (57:41) Well, yeah, it's one of those things where we all came with specific gifts that he gave us. think when we came to earth, he literally, I've given a talk on this, but the backpack, it's the analogy of the backpack. It's when we came down to earth, how many followers like, Julie, I need you to go down to earth and I need you to do this and this and this in order to do those things. I'm gonna equip you with Brynne Erickson (57:46) Mmm, okay. Julie Parry (58:08) these gifts. So let's say tools, hammer, a nail, a sawzall, whatever it is. And with these tools, you'll be able to do those things I need you to accomplish. Can you do these things? And I was like, heck yeah, I can do those. And then we come down and of course, because we gained our spiritual body, our physical body, ⁓ we have to figure out what those gifts are, right? Our spirit knows because our spirit signed up for that. But when we come down, get in our physical body, Brynne Erickson (58:31) Mm-hmm. Hmm. Julie Parry (58:37) That's what our spirit is trying to speak to us in this whole life is what our purpose is and it's here to remind us. So if we're like busy, busy, busy, busy, are we supposed to pay attention to where we're going? So when I had to learn, when I started to figure out what my gifts were, I'm a good listener. Like people randomly tell me like their whole life story and I don't even know them, huh? Or I can make connections to things people are saying and help them feel. Brynne Erickson (58:46) Yeah. Julie Parry (59:03) get unstuck in certain situations. You know, I started just recognizing how it was showing up in my life clear back to when I was six. I always was friends with not the most popular people. I would just, I didn't care about that. Like you start to look back and you go, Oh, I've had these gifts all along and I just didn't know what they were. didn't know what there was a name to them. didn't know how to use them because our strengths can become our weaknesses. Right. And that's where Satan is so awesome and comes in and says like, Oh, let's make this your weakness. And so I think what's Brynne Erickson (59:10) Hmm. Yep. Yeah. Julie Parry (59:32) The thing that I've learned the most is it's okay to find strengths in your, to be okay with your strengths. to, because sometimes I think we put some negative thoughts behind, ⁓ I'm good at this or I'm good at this, or I'm naturally good at this, right? But I've learned that, no, in order for me to be who he wants me to be and to help people, I have to be okay with saying, no, I'm okay, I can do this. This is where I'm strong. This is where I can show up. Brynne Erickson (59:48) Mm-hmm. Hmm. Julie Parry (1:00:02) and I can use my gifts and my strengths because that's what I'm here to help do. Right? So that's something that ⁓ I think we all have them. And so being okay to know what your strengths are and to not bury them, like to use them because we all came with gifts. We all came with things to help benefit one another along the path. And you know, when you think about marriage, I don't know who, don't, I can't, have not talked to one married couple who are, who are like, I'm the same too. And I like this and I like this. No, like a lot of the times we're opposites from our spouses. Like there are so many differences, right? And that's the beautiful thing about marriage is my husband has taught me so much and his strengths are things that weren't my strengths and my strengths. I've helped him see those. And so that's where we come together and we've taught each other. And that's what relationships, not just marriages, but relationships all about. Brynne Erickson (1:00:36) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Julie Parry (1:00:59) Hey, have, I am good, I am okay, I'm good at this, I've navigated this, this is something I'm good at, let me help you with this. So being okay with who we are and being confident in it to help. Brynne Erickson (1:01:12) That was very wise. Thank you, Julie. Julie Parry (1:01:15) You're welcome. Brynne Erickson (1:01:16) Okay, before we wrap up, because this is the fastest hour I've ever spent on any podcast, it's just blown by, this has been so fun. I know, we just chat so much, I love it. Is there one more favorite story you wanna share? Or have we shared enough? Yeah, there's one? Okay, let's hear it. Julie Parry (1:01:24) I know I can look at the time like, I could talk for five more hours. ⁓ yes. Well, there is one. ⁓ I always try to think how can I make a long story short? But I had a client get referred to me and she came to my house and she looked, she put on that face of like, I'm good. Like she was the sweetest lady and I could see her eyes were sunken in and I could just tell I'm like, something's not, she's not okay. And then she sat in my chair. ⁓ Brynne Erickson (1:01:42) You Julie Parry (1:02:01) I was on her feet and she was very just tender and soft and her feet were just aching and she started to talk to me about things and ⁓ my daughter Grace, that's another story, but we found out she's an empath and so she takes on a lot in her organs and her physical body take on a lot because she naturally absorbs things in a room, didn't even realize it. So she's. Brynne Erickson (1:02:20) what it means to be an empath as you take on other people's emotions. Julie Parry (1:02:25) Yes, and you feel it. You don't just take it. You feel it as if they felt it. So if it affects five people, feel the way you imagine it, how every person in that room has felt that situation. So this girl, as she's sitting in my chair, she's telling me that she's gone to doctor after doctor after doctor, and they keep trying to tell her that there's something wrong with her, but they don't know what it is. She's had two doctors tell her that, hey, are you sure this isn't just in your head? This woman has four kids from age. Brynne Erickson (1:02:32) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Julie Parry (1:02:52) eight down to, she just barely had one about a month ago. So when I zoned her a year ago, she came to me in desperation. She was physically throwing up almost every day a few times. She could only eat like five foods. Her kids write, mommy, can you not come to church? Mommy, can you come to this thing? Sweetie mommy's really sick. rather throwing up diarrhea, no energy. mean, she was just thin and you could just tell she was frail. She worked in the medical field at the time and she was just Brynne Erickson (1:03:03) my gosh. Julie Parry (1:03:19) And so I, knowing what my daughter went through, you'll, I started to I started to get clients that you've experienced things and made connections to things. And then all of sudden someone finds you that needs you that anyway. So as she's sitting there, said, Hey, have you, have you considered that you're an M that you could be an empath? And all of a sudden she just broke down into here. She's like, Oh, yes, that resonates with me. Yes, think, yes, that makes sense. And she's in the medical field, so she knows. Anyway, it was beautiful to watch her just like all of a sudden just, oh. And it wasn't like I labeled her. I just said, you know, with these doctors telling you there's nothing wrong with you. And I said, I believe you that you feel like crap. I believe you that you don't feel good. And it resonated with her and it was almost like it gave her body permission to go, oh, I can let this go. Brynne Erickson (1:04:20) Mm-hmm. Julie Parry (1:04:21) I'm not just making this up, but what if I do feel deep? mean, she's a nurse. She feels everything. She's like, this makes sense to me. So I started just talking to her more about empaths and things that I'd read and Grace's experience. And she was like, yes. And as I'm talking to her right before she leaves, she, I mentioned that I taught put zoning and she actually signed up for my course that was starting in four months. And she learned how to do the zone. But I will tell you the next day after her zone, she texts me the most amazing text. So it was two days later. goes, Julie. I have all of sudden craving bread. I'm craving dairy. She goes, I haven't thrown up. I have so much energy. She listed like, I actually post a story like it was a year ago, but it was one of the coolest texts I'd ever gotten because this woman was physically drained, exhausted, her body suffering. and clear up till she just got pregnant nine months ago and had a baby, but up until so it'd been. Brynne Erickson (1:04:58) Wow. Yeah, she was like suffering. Yeah. Julie Parry (1:05:18) like eight months, she had not had those symptoms come back. All through the foot zoning course, she would say, yep, I'm still, I'm still, physically feel good. I haven't, I can eat. So it, the zone, just, it was amazing for her just to experience that. Like I'm okay. And her body released. And when she left her physical face looked, I don't know how I've never seen this in a zone before. Only her. Brynne Erickson (1:05:30) There you go. I love it. Yeah. you Julie Parry (1:05:47) but she physically looked different in her face. Like a light had just been switched back on and there was hope. I don't know how to explain it other than that, but the gauntness under her eyes had gone away and she looked, I was kind of just staring at her like, sorry I'm staring at you, but you physically, you look different to me. Like you just, and she just said, I feel there's so much hope. And I was like, that's what I'm seeing. So there's so many cool. Brynne Erickson (1:05:50) Wow. Hmm. Yeah. Wow. Julie Parry (1:06:15) Stories like every zone is different like if you go in if you go in thinking that every zone is the same Or that you're I can help you because I help this person. No, you're not you I don't profess to fix I don't diagnose I don't do I just I do the zone and whatever shows up shows up Brynne Erickson (1:06:31) Bodies are so cool. And the body, head, heart connection, it's so real. Julie Parry (1:06:32) awesome. The heart and the brain is what I'm working on for my next course. Like I feel so called to work on the connection from the heart to the brain because yes, that's what I'm working on for my October course. So yes. Brynne Erickson (1:06:47) Cool. That'll be powerful. Awesome. Well, on that note then, Julie, you teach foot zoning, right? Yeah. Will you briefly share with us a little bit about that for anyone that's interested? Julie Parry (1:07:07) Yes. So I, it's a seven month course and I, and I didn't realize I was going to teach until one day I was in a class and I was like, Oh, I think I could do this. I was like, wait, what, what, what? And it just happened. was like, they probably just plants those little thoughts and if you entertain them and if you just keep them there when the time is right. And anyway, I wanted, I just wanted everyone to have it be as owner. I feel like everyone should be a daughter. It's okay. Not everyone. It's not for everybody, but um, Brynne Erickson (1:07:31) Love it. Julie Parry (1:07:34) But yes, this is my fourth class starting, but I start every October and there's graduation in May and there's five parts to the zone. I teach the same curriculum as my friend Heidi McKay. ⁓ She has her own school called the foot zoning school. So I use all of her material, but have my own school. so I have my own lectures and own things that I teach about. We teach about chakras, how to muscle test. We talk about emotions, how to process and how to name them, generational stuff. We talk about the heart. the brain. ⁓ call there's so much grounding, how to protect yourself in a zone. There's so much. So over seven months, you learn the entire zone and all the extra nuggets of information and lectures. And you know, you think you're learning the zone, which you are learning the zone in the course, but I didn't realize when I went through the course and that's what I want for my students as well as my same experience. But I, I left a new person, like I healed through the process of the class. Brynne Erickson (1:08:16) Mm-hmm. Yeah, I imagine so. Julie Parry (1:08:34) And it's a beautiful thing. yeah, I teach them. So my next course is starting in October and yeah, it's awesome. It's doable. It's once a month. It's a Friday and a Saturday once a month. So it's like totally doable. It's a full day Friday and a half day Saturday once a month. So. Brynne Erickson (1:08:52) Awesome. And if people want to reach out to you with more information or for a foot zoning session, where can they find you or contact you? Julie Parry (1:08:59) So I have my Instagram, or Facebook. So on my Facebook, it's just Julie Knight Perry. And then my Instagram is Holistic Jewel. So I guess I can share that link with you. OK, perfect. And then I love just when people text me. I'm kind of one of those that's, hey, book with me personally. I like to text, so I can share my number as well. Brynne Erickson (1:09:14) Yep, I'll add it in the show notes. Do you, is it your private number or do you have a business number? Julie Parry (1:09:28) No, it's my private number, but I'm okay with that. Yes, absolutely. But yeah, I love that personal connection and just so I love when people just reach out to me on my cell phone typically. Brynne Erickson (1:09:29) Okay. Would you be comfortable adding that in the show notes too? Okay. Okay, typically. Julie Parry (1:09:44) Yeah, like, yeah, it's just easier. Brynne Erickson (1:09:46) Okay, yep, sounds good. Yeah, we'll get all the information so people can reach out and hopefully they'll sign up for a session, because it is life changing. I went and helped a friend who was a student at the time, so she just needed to practice on people. So, and I had no clue what zoning was at this moment, and I just showed up. And this was in the thick of like my faith ⁓ deconstruction, and I wasn't open about it yet. And she was working on my foot and she opens her book as she was working on one area. She's like, oh, this is like the, your faith and spirituality. And I was like, I haven't said anything to anyone, let alone you. And it was like, what? And it would just kind of blew my mind. And I was like, okay, this is kind of legit and kind of weird. And I don't know, but now I'm a total believer. So everyone should get fit zoned. Julie Parry (1:10:21) Thank Yeah. And you know what's so cool? Yes. And everyone, I have two zoners that I go to sometimes three, depending on what I need. Everyone has different gifts in their zone. So I love that people go to me and other people. Like you get what you need and I don't off, I, you know, I don't know. There's a zoner for everybody and it's just amazing. So I love that you have that experience. That's awesome. You're welcome. Thank you. You're welcome. Brynne Erickson (1:11:00) Thanks. Yep, I'm promoting it. It's awesome. So thank you, Julie, for sharing your gift with the world and informing us tonight on what we can add to our lives and so much beautiful wisdom. You're the best. Julie Parry (1:11:12) Well, thank you for your work that you're doing. love that you're getting your voice out there and sharing. I love this. This is perfect. So thank you. You're welcome. You too. Bye bye. Brynne Erickson (1:11:19) You're so sweet. Thanks Julie. Have a good night.
