- Larry McDonald: Welcome to You're Not Normal If, this week's episode Faith and Friction Podcast. Join Matt and his co-host the Rev as they discuss how nonconformity is Faith and Friction Podcast coming to you live. Live from Saturday night in New York, right? Or whatever that used to be. I used to love to watch that program. But here we are in the studio. Back, I like that you called it a studio. You know it is. You kind of turned us into a little studio. I did, didn't I? I've been working on this. That's nice. You know, we're trying some new things, so hopefully everybody's gonna be able to see us a little bit different video. Yeah. ⁓ coming here shortly. Right. So that'll hopefully not only see things differently, but thinking a little differently. You know, maybe just tweaking one little brain cell that goes, hmm, I haven't considered that. Maybe. That was one of my points on my talk on Saturday. Right at the at the retreat. So had a bunch of word maybe. It me invites possibilities. It does. Invites change. It can be a big change agent, quite frankly, in Namaste conversations, right? That was the whole retreat was about Namaste. So here we are. Living into the maybe. Into the maybe. And maybe, maybe there's some signs in your life that you're not normal, Rev. Some signs. I can't count them on my fingers and toes. There's a lot of signs. So we're gonna talk about that a little bit. We're gonna give each other some encouragement. We're gonna get listeners some encouragement, but I the other you know, more than a chuckle. More than a chuckle about some of these things. Sure, I hope so. You know, we can we can take comfort if you say, That's me. Wow, that's me. And knowing us and our pot this podcast and who we are and how we do things, we want to encourage some of these things to not run from them and even cultivate. Well, you'll be that was my talk last Sunday, ⁓ talking about the lost art of conversation, the lost art of of even disagreement, the lost art of just And I use Joan Rivers as the ⁓ the stepping off point. Can we talk? ⁓ Can we talk? Can we tell the truth is really what she was saying. And I hope this podcast is a place where the maybe is at the forefront of anybody listening where we can talk. Sure. And we cannot shut down the conversation because we're uncomfortable. Yeah. And also identify. I mean, these this is the why we do this. This is the fun part. ⁓ and we we've always talked about not running from the friction, but also ⁓ leaning into it and sometimes stuff. Well, when examining this idea of am I normal? Am I abnormal? W you know, am I even close? That's a friction within. That's that's I gotta confront some things, you know. ⁓ my gosh, what if I'm not normal? I'm giving you permission. We're giving you permission to go ahead and lean into Good. Good. So we're gonna talk about, you know, ⁓ I don't know, there's a little eight things here that that I found out there. Some of them are ⁓ they're kind of fun and it's depending on how much time we have left after that, you know, I'd like to go into some current events as well and just see what's out there in the field. ⁓ certainly from a faith standpoint, where's the friction? And so there's an organization ⁓ out there. It's it's an evangelical organization that ties together ⁓ finances and investing, you know, with your faith. And they've run into some issues here just recently, some credibility issues and things like that, which is not unheard of by any of the You know, one the things I think that's kind of cool about our current culture is we have a checks and balance system built in. Voices of people who aren't maybe normal or who are questioning what is normal that needs to be changed, willing to call out you might have crossed the line. Any organization, any individual Wait a minute, you know, let's let's talk more about this before you continue down that road. Well nothing should be immune from from any of that, from a little bit of scrutiny. Right. Well that becomes a dictatorship. The church, ⁓ country, ⁓ world. Sure. So we'll follow up with that. I think there was some interesting points there, but more than just that incident itself or that scenario, it it can go br in a in a lot of different ways just in our life. And what kind of discernment do we have? And what do we how do we take our spirituality and how does it intersect with our finances or, you know, with our ability? Well how do we look at it? What's the purpose? All that kind of thing. And it can get convoluted. The minute you throw the God card into the middle of all that, y sometimes common sense goes right out the freaking window, quite frankly. Okay. ⁓ so anyway, we'll we'll have a little fun with that too, depending on how much time we have left. All right. Well, I I have to say your eight little points or nine little points or signs ⁓ absolutely make my introverted heart very happy. It's like because I am an introvert by nature, so being on a mic is intimidating. Being a minister in front of people is intimidating. I can do it. There is a longing to be an introvert. ⁓ that doesn't make sense. How can you be in front of a mic and people all the time? Well, I figure it out, but it is normal for me to get away from the mic. To get away from the the congregation and just be present to me. Yeah. Yeah. And I think that you've this these points you've got here kinda give me permission. I feel good about them. Good. Good. Well why don't you start out, you start out with number one. Go ahead. Well number one Let's do it. Everywhere. Not lonely. Just wired differently. Crowds drain you and silence fuels you. That is the Definition of introversion. And I've dealt with that. Yeah. You know, I and I think I've gotten ⁓ into the term ambivert. I can play very extroverted. But I'm telling you, when it says crowd strain you and silence fuels you, that's me. I'm all over that. So let's take a moment and just be quiet for a second. Doesn't make for a good podcast. No, that's not what it's. No, that's not what we're doing here. But you know, here's the thing. Let's start out with the first part of that. You feel different. everywhere. Now that you don't have to be an introvert for that. Nope, not at all. All right. And so I think I we've talked about mystics, we've talked about prophets, we've talked about all different mavericks, okay? You know, these kinds of people we can who encourage any enough to adopt some of these qualities and characteristics. And and why I let's just start it right up front. Why? Why. Let's give the why right up front. Why why is should you feel okay about this? Or why should you maybe think to yourself, well, maybe I could be a little bit more like that? Well, I think attached to that why is a societal mindset. It says, if you feel different, there's something wrong with you. And I'm you're told there's something wrong with you. Yeah. So what we do is we shut down. We shut down because I need to fit in. It's sort of the middle school gang. If you want to fit in. just get along to get along or go along to get along. Yeah. That you don't challenge anything. And I think that there's a lot of people that really feel different on the inside, but have again lost the ability to verbalize it. It's too I'm going to lose friends over it or I might lose community over it. So I'm just gonna feel odd on the inside but never express it. Hmm. Well I think that's a com I think we're all could be there to some some degree. But feeling different everywhere That's you know what that says to me? And it everywhere, that's kind of a pretty strong word. It doesn't have to it be everywhere. Just comfortable, like you're saying, in your own skin and be different isn't bad. Not at all. It's it's an expression. God the way I teach is that God, the universe, the the goodness of life, chose to do business uniquely as you and we have been trained for centuries to just be a an imitation of somebody else. And so that that difference, that that abnormal if you will, is calling and screaming for expression in us. Well we want people not normal. Yeah. Normal. No. We don't want normal. We don't do normal. Do we? I don't know. A lot of the world is moving towards just being normal, but that's such a subjective definition. I don't know what normal is. I don't have any normal friends. I can list my friends and it's like None of them are normal. Normal. No. So normal not normal's What's that a how do you measure it? Yeah. I don't know. Everyone's got a different stick to measure that. Well, you know, and I think I think the litmus to some ext you're exactly right. Some of that's just depends on who's saying it. But to me the litmus in some regards can be Are you acting pretty much the same way that everybody else does? Do you react in the same way? Do you say the same things? Do you use the same? Do you you know, it's the normality that you exhibit you know, in culture, in society. Well and you then you come up against a danger. ⁓ okay, well, I feel that way in one group, but then I go to another group and I don't, but I can behave in such a way so I fit in. Mm-hmm. And so what is normal? Is it normal to be a chameleon and change my skin based on the environment? I think it's been normal to try and just fit in. And what what is abnormal is actually most organically who we are. Be yourself, comfortable in your skin, comfortable with your ideas, no matter who's on the outside listening to you. Well, that wouldn't be normal. So I better get back into the box. That's one of the eight non-normals, right? Crowds drain you, silence fuels you. And again, removing yourself periodically from the busyness, from the hecticness, from the crowd, you know, and and having silence, to me, that's paramount. I mean, that needs to happen. Well, because you start listening to something different in the silence. You can listen to the silence. It's not even the absence of of of words or or sounds. It's the awareness of a deeper reality, a deeper normal, a more A more true normal spiritually. Mm-hmm. Well, there it is. So it's good. If if that's you, you're not normal and it's great. That's a sign. Welcome to the club. Welcome to the abnormal club. Thinking about the ⁓ Frankenstein and ⁓ E Igor. We got the jar when it said Abby normal. Abby normal. I think everybody's brain is a little abbey normal and that's okay. Yeah, it's okay. It is. That's it. I think that's the way we're made and we're wired that way. That's okay. It's a good thing. All right, how about number two? I'll take this one. You question everything. Rules. Glad you took this one. Yeah. No, no, no shit, right? All right. You question everything. Rules, trends, opinions. Nothing gets a free pass in your mind. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the world of math. Yeah, there I am, boy. There I am. I was so funny. We were I think it was on Saturday we were talking with small groups kind of, you know, you have the rules and you have the questions and you have the whole thing, you know. And I kind of said to some of those guys, I said, Look, I'm I'm not the greatest rule follower for the most part. S talk about whatever the hell you want to talk about, okay? Go ahead. You know, if it's not on this sheet of paper, then I don't care. Just say it. Well, this kind of courage and strength is needed in the world because it gives permission to To the people that are trying to be normal that aren't normal, it gives them permission to be it's different, to be unique, to be more true to yourself. Well, this is what this episode's about. We n not that anybody out there needs our permission, but we're gonna give you our encouragement and by example. You know, this is where I live for the most part. You know, I nothing gets a free pass usually in me. I will have to run it through my grid. No, no, not everything. I mean, come on, you know. But anything that's of any significance, I just usually have I'm really my whole life pretty much treated this way. Just wait a minute. Hang on. Hold on. Just give me a second here. Let me think about that. Yeah. Let me process it. Let me, you know, chew on it. Well, sometimes the questioning is a really good thing to create greater depth, not only for yourself, you get more information. Correct. I ask you, well, why? You know, I'd think of the the foster kids and kids were so good. This is the rule. Why? And then you explain why. Then you explain some more why. And actually you get to a place of death. It's annoying as hell. But the reality is it creates a greater opportunity. I really don't know why. I don't know why I'm holding this thought. And then we expose because I've tried to be normal. Because I've tried to fit in. That's why. And we wouldn't have gotten there without the people who question everything, who question the rules, the trends. The thoughts and the ideas. We need more people like that. It and this isn't being a naysayer. Let's just make sure I want to I want to make that clear. You know, it's not the devil's advocate. It's not the this is not a negative to where you're always just trying to stir the pot. You're always just trying to be the No. You know, if if everybody you you tend to think that the if everybody's thinking the same thing, then somebody's not needed here. Yeah, we're not needed. Okay. So we question everything, you're not normal. Well, I think the greatest ⁓ people who have caused the human race to evolve are in that number two. I agree. Questioning the rules, the trends, and the opinions. How did we get here? Is it still true? You know, it needs to be in balance. It needs to be delivered with kindness and love. But the reality is those people caused you to grow. And as somebody who spent his whole life trying to be normal, the people who did that for me are the ones that got me out of my shit. The ones that caused me to get a little uncomfortable where I was and go, hmm. I'm about to grow. Yeah. So thanks for being on my team of growth. Yeah. Yeah. To put it kindly. Meanwhile, you know, here talking behind their back. Well the reality is I pay it forward. Sometimes I am that person. It's all good. So you ⁓ eight signs you're not normal. Number two was you question everything. Rules, trends, opinions, nothing gets a free pass in your mind. All right. Number three, what do you think? What did that say? Well, it says you enjoy being alone. Too much. Mm-hmm. I'm not sure I understand that one. Because it it's kinda it's very similar to number one. Uhhuh. Too much. You know, there you can get to the other point, the extreme of challenging things where you just disappear and you go into a cave, you know, it's sort of the old adage of the tree falls in the forest and there's nobody there to hear it, doesn't make a sound. Well, you can feel enlightened and you can feel at peace and you can feel absolutely normal in a cave all by yourself, but is it really a a deep sense of peace? if you're you're not being you're not challenging it. Yeah. So I don't know. ⁓ you're not you're not normal if you want to be alone. The world will will judge that. But that one I'm a little bit on the fence about. Okay. No and and I agree with that. I think I think these tend to be you t a little bit too inclusive that says too much. That would probably be not normal. That you like you said, y No, I haven't seen you for four weeks. Where have you been? No, I've been in my cave. Yeah, so that's so some of these are not necessarily good not normals. Yeah, yeah. Right? You know, some of these are ⁓ red flag not normals. Well, you I think at number three as I read down beneath the the line here, it's it's an escape from the should, you should, you could, why didn't you? All those questions of the world that are trying to put you into the box. And so they will tell you too much. Yes. You're being alone too much. You know, the reality is only one person can answer that question of too much. That's you. Right. You know, you can have people telling you, We miss you. We miss your contribution. You're alone all the time. We never see you. But that's only information for the person who's actually in the cave to go, Is it too much? Is it too little? I can't answer that for them. Well, I'm going to use what we used to talk about all the time, and that's this more than zero. Yeah. You know, that that neither one can be all or nothing. You know, that if you're going to be going mock six with your hair in fire all the time, you need the solitude. I'm questioning everything, I'm questioning all the rules. Yes. You might want to take a moment to balance and go, let me be alone. Let me question my own self. Well i the part of this is solitude isn't scary for you. Which is cause some people k gotta be busy. They gotta have stuff going on all the time. Looking at what they might find when they're alone. Right may have to do some introspection. All right. it's where if you you recharge and think clearly. Now see that a lot of times that's not normal for people to do that. And we want everything we can possibly do would be to encourage people to do that. This is the definition of an introvert. Yeah. Is I need that time to remember. To learn, to go and to integrate. Yeah, to connect to just s the unseen, the mystery, the whole you know, the whole thing, right? I look at the monks, both Buddhist and Catholic and and and you know, people who have ⁓ adopted that kind of lifestyle. Not a lot of people can do that. ⁓ no it's very solitary. And I think it's 'cause there's a little bit of fear. And for them, that solitude isn't normal. Taking a vow of silence for a year? For them that's normal. What? For many that's debt. Yeah, you just might as well shoot me now. So again, circumstance determines what normal is. It's such we're throwing darts at a board. Your normal is gonna be different than mine. Yes. And I need to be okay with your normal and my normal. And you need to be okay with your own definition of how you're not normal. Because everybody looks around them. Yeah. And can say to themselves, well, how come I'm not as like them? How come I'm not as normal? I'm you know, it it is again, it's this questioning of yourself, right? That says, go for it. Well, you know, and and again, when I talk on Sunday, the somebody has the guts to say, has anybody else felt like this? And the whole room erupts with, Me too. Yes, I have. Except for maybe narcissists. Most people, if you're feeling it and thinking it and experiencing it. They're having the same thought. Sure. And you get to be the one who goes, Wow, I'm not alone here. We're all feeling this together. This is why we're in community to share stories. How powerful your story is. First of all, it's your story, and nobody can tell you that it's not your story or you're wrong. Run from them if they do. Yeah. I mean, it's your story, and I can't tell you many times. Me in my life have been able to say, ⁓ my gosh, exactly that same thing. I'm out here in the Dang desert man. I don't I I'm parched. I don't ⁓ it sun's beaten down on me and I don't have a clue about what's going on and I'm alone. And then something comes in the field, a person, a book, a movie, it doesn't matter, and you go, ⁓ my God, they're thinking the same thing. Who's the most powerful words to create connection? ⁓ you too? Yeah. I thought I was alone in the desert. You're here too. ⁓ that goes along with maybe. I like it, man. I like it. You too. All right. So there we are. Number three was all right, what about four? Let's go to four. What's it say? It says small talk feels exhausting. I'm I'm getting tired thinking about it. It says you crave depth, meaning, and real conversations, not noise. Think about that for a second. I would completely agree that if that's you, that ain't normal. Yeah. Okay. Right? And that's okay. I love it. ⁓ yeah. I love it. Though those are my people. Right there. They're not they don't want to stay in the filler. Yeah. And I think a lot of the world's living at a very surface level of just fill. Let's just fill the time and create sound for the sake of because I'm afraid of the silence. Some of the most meaningful conversations I've ever had Did not involve language. It's a spoken word. It was in the presence. We all felt something and made the eye contact, the physical contact with an embrace. It's like we just felt everything we needed to feel without words getting in the way. The filler. Now I'll be honest, I I spent a lot of time I had to learn to be okay with quiet. So I've I'm a master at filling. The Knicks are a good minister, I guess, for a very long sermon. But the reality is ⁓ it it you're not normal. Right. And that's that's a good thing. We need we need more of it. We just need I'm not saying you can't talk about your favorite sports team and you can't talk about the weather, and you can't talk about how the kids are doing, or blah, blah, whatever. That that's not the point. The point is do you ever have any other kinds of conversations but them? There's the question. See. I mean, I I'll be honest, I enjoyed immensely and this might alienate some audience members that the Atlanta Falcons had their way with the Green Bay Packers. But if that was the dominant conversation, man, I am a kind of a dull boy. Well yeah, it it we just I think have dumbed ourselves down as a culture and a society. Because we need to be safe. Yes, because we just aren't doing our homework anymore. We're letting AI think for us. Well, what if what I'm saying or what I'm learning and I'm sharing openly is not considered normal? ⁓ now I'm ostracized. Now I'm alienated from the group. Yeah. So just don't say it. Do the filler. Do the small talk. Talk about the weather and the sports. Yeah. And never go and and fit in. And then fit in I believe it's death. Yeah. For a lot of people, the abnormal people, it is death. Well y here's a here's a good question. And I don't think people are are tuned in to having to answer this question much anymore. What do you think? Yeah. Well, okay. ⁓ you know, I see. What do you think about it? Give me, you know, ⁓ just give me some of your own intelligent thoughts on whatever we're talking about. And again, we don't think it's super philosophical about it or anything, but can't we just mine a little bit deeper? I mean things like You know, CS I I just always think about C. S. Lewis and Tolkien sitting there in the in the pub in in you know, in London, just creating, doing their thing, solving ideas, sharing ideas, some of them obscure, some of them absurd. And then it's like you get to a place, ⁓ now that's interesting. Right. But it must be what do you think is tossed out as filler sometimes? I d They don't really care. Right. I don't really want to know what you think, but I'm gonna be nice here and ask you. ⁓ you're calling it out here now, man. I'm I'm calling it out. You know, what do you think? Do you really want to know? You know, like when you ask somebody how you doing? Yeah. It's like yeah, I don't really want to know. I don't I don't have time right now. I'm really not doing well. ⁓ God, it's gonna get dip. I'm talking to the not normal person. Well, I think it's an encouragement. Here here's the encouragement here. Think about the conversations that you have during the week through normal life, just doing your deal, and how many of them have more than superficial content, depth, thought, you know, just that whole idea that you know there's more to everything. Are you willing to go there? You know what I mean? I talked on Saturday about this whole idea about exposure. How does things change? Whether spiritually, it doesn't really matter. And a lot of it has to do with exposure. Being exposed to different thoughts, different perspectives, different ideas, different feelings. I mean, just different. ⁓ well, and and I value that in you. Because don't expose that we're in a culture that says don't expose yourself to those different ideas because they're wrong. They're evil. They're bad. They're They're gonna lead you down a dark path. Wow. We need to stretch ourselves. Yes. And that means being well doesn't mean I have to adopt the new idea or a new thought. I'm just gonna listen to it. So when I ask you, what do you think? I may completely disagree with you. But there's a greater intimacy. And I think the human population has gotten afraid of intimacy. Yeah. So they don't really sincerely ask the question, what do you think? You just keep rolling on. Let just tell you what I think. And that you can be normal if you just accept it. All right. Well that's not normal. That's that's about as abnormal from our way we're designed, I believe. Creating depth ⁓ craving death depth meaning and real conversations. Yeah. ⁓ my gosh. I love number five. Well go ahead. Number five isn't is mine. Okay. It's you notice details that others miss. Tone changes, body language, patterns, your mind is always observing. This is the opposite of a shutdown reality. I'm looking for what's in the environment. What is is everybody else missing? And I often tell my congregation, find the God that everybody else missed. Find the possibility. Find the love that everybody else is missing. ⁓ huh. Find the communication underneath the communication. And and you it's an intimacy and it's a it's kind of a fun game, but then opening yourself up to being the one who leads the charge. Hey, did you notice this? When you know, we take a trip every year to Europe or to some far off place to have a mystical experience. And I'm telling you, you have an itinerary and I we set the intention. Let me find the God that's not in the itinerary. Let me find the God that's not in the conversation. Every single trip, the miracles and the things I remember were unplanned. Because she had the eyes and the ears to find what everybody else was missing around the corner from the cathedral. Was the most beautiful exchange and conversation. Yeah, I totally agree with that. And you know what I call that? Just getting your antennas up, man. Yeah. You know, just getting them up to receive energy, the waves, the whatever you want to call it that vibrates out there everywhere, that you just never would have if you're just, you know. Got the blinders on. You're just doing your checklist. You're doing your itinerary. You're just doing whatever. Okay, next stop, next stop, next sentence, next conversation. Yeah. Just be sensitive. Be looking around. This is so I think we've lost this ability too. We aren't looking for other people because we don't want to have to interact with them. So we're not looking for opportunities to engage. We're looking for opportunities Not to engage. Not to engage. You know, serendipity is a word that's thrown around a lot of spiritual circles. ⁓ this unexpected happening. I'm saying be the one who expects it. Right. Be the one who creates it. It's not serendipity. It's not by chance. It's because I'm actively intentional good. God, love, peace. I don't care what you call it. Yeah. It's there and it's waiting for you to look your its way. I love it. And again, y you don't have to be some clairvoyant here. Just Pick up and watch people. Do people watching if nothing else. Yeah, that's fun to do. And look for people's countenance and just do the best you can to try to either send you to engage with them necessarily, but again, it's ⁓ just about opening yourself up, I think is what really is what we're talking about. From very sincere place. I want to understand people better. I want to know the story underneath the story. Better, better, better. All right. So that was a good one. I love that. You're great about that for sure. How about this one, number six? ⁓ gosh. I chuckle when I read this. Seriously? You don't fit one label. You're calm but intense, kind but firm, logical yet emotional. A maverick and a mystic, right? Yeah. Exactly. I love this is exactly right. And they're not. Mutually exclusive. So you don't first of all to even adopt a label, you know, we've already kind of narrowed something down just by a word. We need labels to traverse the earth and to get along in relationship with each other, but we're not those labels. Right. It's just a a mechanism to have order. Yeah. ⁓ and if you're communicating if you're just one, yeah. If I'm okay, I'm the man. Or no, I'm a minister. No, I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm all of these things. I have all these roles, but none of them really are truly who I am because I'm a multidimensional being. You are a multidimensional being with the ability to you know, if a you paint a picture on a canvas and all you use is one color? Wow, what a boring picture. Yeah. It's texture and shape and color. That's the way we were designed in the vastness of a beautiful universe. So don't let one label. And ⁓ they'll tell you you need to You need to be more normal. Just use one color. It's ⁓ not normal. Right. Exactly so not normal means you can be both and. Use your yellow. Don't just suppress it. There it is. You think that's gotta be you that's a meme somewhere too. Use your yellow. Or pink. Or purple. I don't care what don't eat the yellow snow. Right. What's the next one? Okay. Number seven is you feel misunderstood often. Not because you're wrong. Because most people think shallow. Now there's a there's a pretty condemning statement right there, but I'm gonna say it's damn true in a lot of cases. It truly is. You know, I and you just you see it all the time. You it was is you come against and up against a lot of times people that are just good grief. What do we say that the the ⁓ people in the shallow end of the pool make the most amount of noise? Yeah, they do. Right? It's just and and i is that a judgment? Is that condemning? Well, you know what? Define shallow. We have a common idea of what that means, okay? And we see it it goes back to the one above that it's all superficial. It's all just sort of you know, e without any depth, without any meat and You know, I have a long line of people in my life since I was incarnated on this earth that are beautiful, amazing, wonderful people. No judgment. But they wanted to keep me in their comfort zone. Not mine. So when I began to stretch and to grow and to go to the deep end, they wanted to pull me back. ⁓ they say there's a good point too. Wow. I cut now come back over here because I'm not comfortable with who you are and who you're becoming. Yeah. I said this, I did two weddings this week and one of the and the vows is I love you for who you are. For who you were not and for who you are becoming. That's what the world is beautiful. You're becoming, you're stretching no and since instead of going, come back to the shallow end because now I'm uncomfortable with who you're becoming. Well, no. We don't want to. You're wrong. You're wrong over there. Come back. Yeah, don't don't play in this too much too long and just use the shallow end to get to the deep end, okay? Yeah. You're not normal. Because most of us it's spiritually that's normal, but humanly, no, no, no. Just stay Get again, I guess we said earlier, getting along to get along in my comfort zone. Don't rock the boat. All right. Number eight. And this is one of my favorites because this ties in with Tamma, you know, with her saying. You don't want an average life. Normal feels like a cage, and you refuse to live inside it. Amen to that, man. And you know what? Here's the thing. If we go back up, you don't fit. label, you notice other details, guess what's gonna happen? You're gonna find if that's you, if you're the non-normal, guess what will happen? You'll find other non-normals. Yes, they're waiting for you. They're out there. You know, ⁓ I have this image of a video that's been on the on the the internet for a long time. It's cows that were kept in a cage their whole life. Okay. And they made a decision. I guess they were done with their use. And they opened the barn doors. And for the first time, those cows, it was a whole herd of cows that had never really seen the sun, never but seen the grass, cows were dancing. They were absolutely dan I've never seen anything like it. It was like utter joy. And what I'm telling all the people that feel that you don't want to be in the normal barn of existence anymore, go ahead and dance. Was it Nietzsche who said that those who were seen dancing were thought crazy by those who could not hear the music? You're not normal. And I really that quote has helped me stretch those who the cows that were seen dancing were were thought crazy by those who couldn't hear the music. The music is calling us to prance and to frolic in the grass, enjoy the sun and not fit into the barn mentality, the herd mentality. Well, there's the calling. We're we hopefully have opened the doors so that some of our listeners can actually frolic. Right? We would like nothing better than for those that are listening to frolic a little bit like they've never frolicked before. Yep. I love that. ⁓ my gosh. So your barn doors open has a different connotation. Remember I did a meme one time about that? Okay, yeah, yeah. Just unzip your fly and resist the temptation to zip it back up again. All right. Welcome to the other side. Yeah. All right. So you're not normal and and ta ⁓ I said this on ⁓ on Saturday in my talk. Tam's Tamma Keeves. Yeah, Tam McKeeves is beautiful. You know, I'm willing to set aside common sense because I don't want a common experience. Yep. You know, and that is hard for a lot of folks. It was hard for me because I was a very type A linear thinking person for ⁓ a lot of my life, okay? And I'm engineered the whole thing. So I love it. I love it. If we don't want to be average, then be non-normal. And I'm giving you permission to not be average. There it is. Don't be average. Be amazing, unique, beautiful you, just the way you were created. I will You know, was it the Gospel of Tom? It says, Bring forth that which is within you, and it will give you life. And if you don't do it, it will kill you. It's it's needing expression. Go ahead and dance in the grass. You got me, Reb. I love it. Let's dance together. All right. There it is. We won't we'd even get we'll talk next week maybe we'll talk about ⁓ what's going on with the organization and the ⁓ the finances in God's name kind of stuff. 'Cause I think it's a pretty interesting story, but we'll get that next week then. This was awesome. I these are great little points and I love the way we just fleshed them out. So thanks for your wisdom, NMF. Thanks for being kept saying abnormal, but I I'm okay with that. Thanks for being abnormal. Abby normal. All right. Have a great one. Thank you everybody for listening and we'll see you next week. Catch you on the flip side. Take care.
