- 0:04Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:11Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. Not everyone liked our show last week, Free
- 0:18Speaker 1: from Indianapolis says, I won't read this, But screw you.
- 0:22Speaker 1: He says, this podcast has become an absolute show. Wow,
- 0:25Speaker 1: cover the effing team. What a joke. The only reason
- 0:28Speaker 1: I listen is because you're the official team podcast, and
- 0:31Speaker 1: I'm sure that's the only reason anyone listens to you.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Idiots do better, be better clowns. Every TV obviously has
- 0:39Speaker 1: the highlights, and he's like, turn that off. You know,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I wish I had not played like that. Yeah, I
- 0:46Speaker 1: can't stand it. And like people think it's becoming. It's not.
- 0:50Speaker 1: It's not. It's unbecoming. It's unbecoming. Daniel Craig is my
- 0:53Speaker 1: all time fond favorite. People will like searg Connor, you know,
- 0:58Speaker 1: like the diehards, but I think Roger Craig was better.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We talk about crazy things, especially in the offseason. Yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 1: so screw you. Right, this is Patriot's Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan.
- 1:12Speaker 1: All right, Welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday, here
- 1:16Speaker 1: at Gillette Stadium, and we're here for the next two hours.
- 1:20Speaker 1: The gang is all here. And when I say gang,
- 1:22Speaker 1: we have a lot of people in the studio today.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Deuce is back from Lace Triumphant. I don't know if
- 1:30Speaker 1: it was triumphant, but I'm back. Paul's back from Diet Millerland. Paul,
- 1:36Speaker 1: you were on a college tour, right, Yeah, so it's
- 1:38Speaker 1: very serious. Yeah, no time to nah. Yeah, I got
- 1:42Speaker 1: a good story. I'll save it full. Okay, Eric's here
- 1:45Speaker 1: as usual. Eric does not travel anymore, much to his chagrin.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Hopefully next year, next year, hopefully next year next Well,
- 1:52Speaker 1: it's starting now. Yeah, no, no, I got a plan
- 1:54Speaker 1: for my til he's waiting for like, I don't know.
- 1:57Speaker 1: There has to be there has to be complete at all. Yesterday. Yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 1: but the jackasses at the CDC, we're gonna go in
- 2:05Speaker 1: a peal. Thing's gonna run out in two weeks. It's
- 2:08Speaker 1: a personal choice if you want to wear the exactly exactly.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I don't have to get mad at people. Why are
- 2:13Speaker 1: you offending people? A lot of people had masks on.
- 2:17Speaker 1: That's fun bother me and that's fine, right, Why does
- 2:20Speaker 1: it bother you? No? It bothers me that they're forcing
- 2:22Speaker 1: us to wear. Okay, all right, exact won't I won't
- 2:25Speaker 1: be exactly. And a new uh we hope, regular addition
- 2:31Speaker 1: to the show, Tomara Brown, is here. And for those
- 2:34Speaker 1: people who uh watched the pre and postgame show, you
- 2:37Speaker 1: might have had a little bit of an introduction to
- 2:40Speaker 1: you last season, but now you're gonna be a regular
- 2:43Speaker 1: participant of the show. Tomara. Yeah, I'm really excited about it.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm yeah, um so um. We're gonna get to know
- 2:55Speaker 1: you a little bit more. Yeah, yeah, what you've been doing,
- 2:59Speaker 1: what you want to do and all that stuff, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: your takes and opinions, and I know you have them
- 3:04Speaker 1: because I would stop down on Tuesdays and talk with
- 3:07Speaker 1: you about what's going on in the NFL, So I
- 3:09Speaker 1: know you have a just talk about tech yeah, oh yeah, anything.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Virginia Tech college football was yes, yes, tamarras a VT
- 3:17Speaker 1: grad right, yes, yeah, a Hookey grad. But you've worked
- 3:20Speaker 1: at Notre Dame, You've worked at the University of Miami,
- 3:22Speaker 1: so you've been around. I wear many hats. Some days
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'll say go Irish, some days I will say go Hookey's.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Other days, maybe Cocaines. We'll see do you ever say
- 3:31Speaker 1: go Patriots? Now? We're all now? Yes, all right, all right,
- 3:42Speaker 1: so we the gang's all here, Matt's in the booth um.
- 3:45Speaker 1: So what's going on? What do we got going on?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Your guy wants to so okay, So everybody was talking
- 3:51Speaker 1: about Deebo Samuel yesterday. He wants out of the forty
- 3:54Speaker 1: nine ers. He's asked to be traded. Here's my problem.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I've said that I think he's probably the best football
- 4:00Speaker 1: player in the NFL right now. But if the rumor
- 4:04Speaker 1: is true that the reason he wants to be traded
- 4:06Speaker 1: is he doesn't like the way he was used. He
- 4:09Speaker 1: wants to be strictly a wide receiver. I got a
- 4:12Speaker 1: problem with that because that's what made me fall in
- 4:14Speaker 1: love with him. It's his versatility, and that's probably what
- 4:17Speaker 1: they would fall in love with. Two. Right, we're gonna
- 4:19Speaker 1: move you all around him. How about I just stay
- 4:20Speaker 1: outside at wide receiver the whole game? And yeah, that's
- 4:25Speaker 1: not what made you then? All pro play? I mean, like,
- 4:27Speaker 1: I don't want him to be my running back, but
- 4:29Speaker 1: I want him to be. Okay, if I say, hey,
- 4:33Speaker 1: line up in the backfield on this play. Yeah, I
- 4:35Speaker 1: don't want a problem if that that happens. Well, I
- 4:38Speaker 1: think I think he wants just not to be like
- 4:42Speaker 1: in the backfield, like if it was like fifteen percent,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I think he could do that. Okay, all right, are
- 4:47Speaker 1: you speaking for him? Because I can't speak for him
- 4:49Speaker 1: because according to his Twitter, he said, nobody knows the
- 4:52Speaker 1: real story except for him and his agent. Well, if
- 4:54Speaker 1: that's the case, then I'm okay. I'm okay. But if
- 4:56Speaker 1: he's gonna demand I'm just a wide receiver, then kind of,
- 5:00Speaker 1: you know, some of the shine comes off of him.
- 5:02Speaker 1: So yeah, I promised myself I've been away and I
- 5:06Speaker 1: don't want to come back in hot, because come on,
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm often accused of coming in hot. You will. So
- 5:12Speaker 1: I want to try to say, you guys, tell me
- 5:15Speaker 1: that you wouldn't be interested in Deebo Samuel strictly as
- 5:17Speaker 1: a wide receiver money. But he would. But but because
- 5:20Speaker 1: I would, okay, at how much money? Because he wants
- 5:23Speaker 1: he wants at least twenty five million. But that's the going, right,
- 5:26Speaker 1: He's a tremendous that's right. Fact that he is a
- 5:29Speaker 1: running back too, doesn't you know? That's not why I
- 5:33Speaker 1: want him. Yeah, Like I want him because he's a
- 5:36Speaker 1: tremendous player with the ball in his hands. Right, if
- 5:38Speaker 1: I don't have to hand it to him, I could
- 5:40Speaker 1: throw it to him, but I want I want to
- 5:41Speaker 1: be able to choose that, and I just don't want
- 5:44Speaker 1: someone coming in with those kind of demands like this
- 5:46Speaker 1: is all I want to be. Well, I mean I
- 5:47Speaker 1: totally get it from his perspective, like if he continues
- 5:50Speaker 1: to play seasons like he did last year, he's not
- 5:52Speaker 1: gonna last. He's not gonna last. No, I agree with that,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and he knows that. Yeah, and then he sees the
- 5:58Speaker 1: salaries where they're going for wide receivers, of which I
- 6:01Speaker 1: think he is in that category. Yeah. Yeah, he's a
- 6:05Speaker 1: young guy who's working his way into that group with
- 6:09Speaker 1: with some of those special players. Now, maybe he's not
- 6:11Speaker 1: Davante Adams, maybe he's not Stefan Diggs, but he doesn't
- 6:15Speaker 1: have to hold his head in shame around those guys.
- 6:18Speaker 1: He's a really really good player. Are we being like
- 6:20Speaker 1: just completely naive even thinking that he could come here?
- 6:24Speaker 1: And I never gave that a second of thoughts, Or
- 6:27Speaker 1: I'm not being naive. He's not coming here, Yeah, anytime
- 6:31Speaker 1: a great player like this becomes available. You do the dance,
- 6:34Speaker 1: and there's a fair amount of people on social media
- 6:37Speaker 1: that would literally trade the whole time, the whole team,
- 6:40Speaker 1: just to get him. Well, you know, he's not realistic.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Here's how you always have these conversations, where so, should
- 6:45Speaker 1: we blow the whole team up and everything for this
- 6:46Speaker 1: one guy? They're not. Here's how, here's how we'll know
- 6:49Speaker 1: for sure whether or not it's a possibility. Has Matthew
- 6:52Speaker 1: jude On tweeted at him? Oh yeah, yeah, he's done.
- 6:57Speaker 1: He wasn't the only person that tweeted at him. Brown
- 7:02Speaker 1: Brown has been like two minutes. Yeah, it's a group.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It's been pretty good this week. It may not be part.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Is that a new thing around the league with players
- 7:12Speaker 1: recruiting or is it just it's just just the Patriots,
- 7:16Speaker 1: just the Patriots. The teams don't have to do that. Well.
- 7:20Speaker 1: But but that's a good question that kind of leads
- 7:22Speaker 1: into it. Okay, so you don't think the Patriots would
- 7:24Speaker 1: be willing to give up what it's going to take
- 7:26Speaker 1: to get him, Well, any team like it's huge. I
- 7:29Speaker 1: take it has anything to do with the compensation. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: think it has to do with a salary they ain't
- 7:32Speaker 1: paying them. Well, I think it's both minute. The Dolphins
- 7:36Speaker 1: just shelled out thirty million a year for Hill, The
- 7:39Speaker 1: Raiders just shelled out twenty eight and a half for Adams.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I mean, yes, a team certainly would be interested in
- 7:45Speaker 1: that and would probably pay for and they gave and
- 7:47Speaker 1: they gave up a bunch of draft picks as well. Yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 1: so somebody it's two first round. It's already happened twice
- 7:53Speaker 1: this offseason. Yeah, and what is like I'm hearing also
- 7:58Speaker 1: that like the thing that disrupted everything was this Christian
- 8:01Speaker 1: Kirk contright, it's always fault like that was we weren't
- 8:06Speaker 1: in a bay where receivers anything Kirk. Yeah, so that
- 8:09Speaker 1: disrupted everything. Well, what if he's getting it right? Exacerbated
- 8:13Speaker 1: every receiver said he's average at best, and he got
- 8:17Speaker 1: that right. So I'm going to get more and a
- 8:20Speaker 1: lot of guys have gotten more, so my my Chian.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But I said, Paul, you weren't on the show Tuesday.
- 8:25Speaker 1: But what I said is, listen, if it's true that
- 8:28Speaker 1: the Patriots are going to have all this money next year,
- 8:31Speaker 1: then use your draft picks in the future, pay send
- 8:36Speaker 1: whatever it takes to the forty nine ers to get him,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and then next year use your money and filling the
- 8:41Speaker 1: team through free agency. You know, I agree with you.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I personally will go after him because then it takes
- 8:48Speaker 1: the pressure off trying to get a Jamison Williams at
- 8:51Speaker 1: twenty one in the draft next week. Um So I
- 8:53Speaker 1: would go after Deebo Samuel now and then hopefully be
- 8:56Speaker 1: able to use that pick on a guy like Nikobe
- 8:58Speaker 1: Deane if he's still available. I like Nicobe Deane. I've
- 9:00Speaker 1: started to look at linebackers. I mean, I think you're
- 9:04Speaker 1: I like the guy from Wyoming too, Muma, Yeah he's
- 9:06Speaker 1: not that yeah yeah, yeah yeah. Or you could go
- 9:08Speaker 1: with Walker favorite it's also good. He's good. Yeah. I
- 9:13Speaker 1: can't figure out which one I like better, Dean or
- 9:15Speaker 1: quite Walker. But I like Dean. I like Dean. He
- 9:19Speaker 1: seems super smart. Mechanical engineering major, so, I mean, you know,
- 9:23Speaker 1: he's really smart. So and his mom loves Bill Belichick. Yes,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I think, as he put it, she loves her some
- 9:30Speaker 1: Bill Belichick like, not so much the Patriots. She just
- 9:33Speaker 1: likes Bill Belichick. I don't We're not to confuse her
- 9:37Speaker 1: with Justin Bieber's mom. Because she doesn't love everyone. Just
- 9:41Speaker 1: remember that what about all that's what about a deep dive?
- 9:43Speaker 1: That's about Katie's mom was on the sideline at the
- 9:46Speaker 1: Celtics game yesterday given it to the ref. Yeah that
- 9:48Speaker 1: was awesome. That awesome. Yeah, I watched basketball yesterday. I'm
- 9:52Speaker 1: so excited to talk about it. I was on the plane.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I was like, I had I'm like, I have a
- 9:58Speaker 1: three point line. Now. The games changed a lot since
- 10:01Speaker 1: I watched. Watched the game, probably the first watch the
- 10:05Speaker 1: basketball game in forever. But I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it.
- 10:09Speaker 1: You know, your captive audience, you're on a plane, You're like,
- 10:11Speaker 1: two great we two great playoff games. The Celtics Kevin
- 10:16Speaker 1: Durant and allow the Pagrits to slap the ball out
- 10:18Speaker 1: of his hands. He credits the Patriots with the Celtics. Yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 1: like that's the only the only thing in the back
- 10:26Speaker 1: of I think the Celtics are probably pretty close to
- 10:29Speaker 1: being home free here. But the one thing that worries
- 10:31Speaker 1: me is the Nets have played two awful games. They
- 10:34Speaker 1: have two superstars, and Durant played awful in both games,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and Kyrie was a no show in one of them.
- 10:41Speaker 1: He played great in Game one. So Paul, everyone saying
- 10:44Speaker 1: some point that away or did the Celtics deserve to win?
- 10:48Speaker 1: I think they just the Celtics deserve to win both games.
- 10:50Speaker 1: They're in their heads, they out hustling them, they played
- 10:53Speaker 1: better down the stretch of both games. They deserve to
- 10:55Speaker 1: win both games. But my point is the Nets played
- 10:59Speaker 1: awful in both game games and had a chance to
- 11:01Speaker 1: win both on the road in an unbelievably raucous environment.
- 11:05Speaker 1: That garden's been rocked in these two games. It's cool.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I mean, so I'm still a little worried, but I
- 11:09Speaker 1: think the Celtics are gonna be. I mean, I'm new
- 11:10Speaker 1: to this basketball analysis, but I thought then that started
- 11:13Speaker 1: out pretty well like yesterday, Like it was, they were
- 11:15Speaker 1: on fire and like they're hitting everything. You know, they
- 11:17Speaker 1: were getting turnovers early, and then the Celtics just hung
- 11:20Speaker 1: in there, kept fighting there. But until Durant becomes Durant,
- 11:24Speaker 1: they're not gonna be They're not gonna win the series. Yeah,
- 11:26Speaker 1: and you know he's going four for nineteen, which one
- 11:29Speaker 1: was he is? He good? All right? Fact before we
- 11:34Speaker 1: get yelled at to help it. When Boston has two
- 11:40Speaker 1: teams that are going to be in the postseason happening
- 11:43Speaker 1: right now, Patriots and the Celtics and all the Bruins. Okay,
- 11:48Speaker 1: that's right, that's just kidding. You know. What I was
- 11:50Speaker 1: thinking though, just to bring it back to Patriots, was, um,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know, everybody's really hard on the sports teams here,
- 11:56Speaker 1: but you see the environment at that Celtics game of
- 11:59Speaker 1: just how much people love sports here. And I think
- 12:01Speaker 1: that's what's cool about this city. Like they're hard, they're
- 12:05Speaker 1: hard on them, Like I mean, I only usually see
- 12:07Speaker 1: the Celtics through like a Felger and mass like side
- 12:10Speaker 1: side fire, Like I'm listening to the Celtics, so well,
- 12:14Speaker 1: what I'm saying earlier in the season, I would, you know,
- 12:15Speaker 1: catch the only narrative I knew of the Celtics was
- 12:18Speaker 1: what Felger and Masks kind of told me. So I
- 12:19Speaker 1: would just be, what are they all? Right? That's where
- 12:21Speaker 1: it's at. I would kind of listen to that and
- 12:22Speaker 1: then you see what team is. But it's just they're
- 12:24Speaker 1: hard on them, but people love sports here, and I
- 12:26Speaker 1: think that's what's cool. In the playoff atmosphere, you can
- 12:28Speaker 1: see what the atmospheres like here and how passionate people
- 12:31Speaker 1: are for as hard as they are on them they
- 12:33Speaker 1: get I'm gonna push back a little bit on that. Yeah,
- 12:38Speaker 1: they love sports as long as they're winning, except for
- 12:42Speaker 1: the Red Sox they seem to have, you know, they
- 12:45Speaker 1: were endearing during that eighty six year drought. But we'll
- 12:49Speaker 1: see what happens if the Patriots you know, don't get
- 12:53Speaker 1: back to you know, annual playoff contention. I I I
- 12:57Speaker 1: think that Boston fans have other things and they kind
- 13:00Speaker 1: of dropped their teams when they're not doing well. Yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 1: well that sounds that sounds like LA teams. Well yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 1: well LA they don't have They don't care until then
- 13:09Speaker 1: they care, and then they don't care. Yeah, it's so
- 13:12Speaker 1: we'll see it with the Patriots. We'll see. I Fred,
- 13:15Speaker 1: I think you're really not giving credit much to England fans.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I think much better pretty much pretty much anyway, Okay,
- 13:25Speaker 1: well you Parker said today in his press conference he
- 13:29Speaker 1: wanted to be traded here obviously for the organization. But
- 13:31Speaker 1: the fans, they're die hard fans. They come to every
- 13:34Speaker 1: single game, and so they do now. But like I
- 13:37Speaker 1: remember when Larry Burr was playing, that place was sold
- 13:40Speaker 1: out every game. And then after that, let you know,
- 13:43Speaker 1: Len Bias died and all that, and you know you
- 13:46Speaker 1: could you could, you know, go for free to those
- 13:49Speaker 1: games television ratings, but you're you're making a connection between
- 13:54Speaker 1: the end of the Bird era and then all of
- 13:56Speaker 1: a sudden it just collapsed. No, that took twenty years
- 13:58Speaker 1: of in comp putence to collapse. Well, it was the
- 14:01Speaker 1: steady collapse because through the nineties, you know, and then
- 14:05Speaker 1: when Reggie died, they were still a perennial playoff team,
- 14:08Speaker 1: in a deep playoff team at times, and they still
- 14:11Speaker 1: had rabid followings. Then mL card came in, they would
- 14:14Speaker 1: championship driven and they fell off, and then Rick Patino
- 14:18Speaker 1: was a complete disaster and it fell off and no
- 14:20Speaker 1: one went. But then they resurrected in the early two thousands.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Jim O'Brien got them to the conference championship. But then
- 14:27Speaker 1: Danny Ames came. Yeah, but it's been back. I say,
- 14:30Speaker 1: all the teams have rabid followers, but the question is
- 14:34Speaker 1: how many. And I think television ratings don't would argue
- 14:39Speaker 1: with that, Paul, They they television ratings aren't good for
- 14:41Speaker 1: anything but the NFL. I know, but that's a fact.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I'm talking about relatively speak. I mean, can you name
- 14:47Speaker 1: a fan base of a losing team that is rabbid
- 14:50Speaker 1: all the time. But the Celtics television ratings right now,
- 14:54Speaker 1: we're not great. Yeah, well that's that's the NFL's ratings
- 14:58Speaker 1: are the only thing that are great. I mean, any
- 15:00Speaker 1: team that goes through a bad spell is going to
- 15:02Speaker 1: see a decrease in fans. But there's a there's a
- 15:07Speaker 1: solid base of like people in this area love sports
- 15:09Speaker 1: in general. I think that was Mike's point. But they'll move,
- 15:11Speaker 1: they'll move to what's the but they'll move to what
- 15:15Speaker 1: is you know, the sports dojor you know what I mean. Like,
- 15:18Speaker 1: except for the Red Sox during that like it was
- 15:20Speaker 1: kind of like a badge of honor to be a
- 15:23Speaker 1: Red a long song suffer fan. I'm not sure that
- 15:27Speaker 1: the other teams have that type of you get here,
- 15:29Speaker 1: you know, anyway, get here. Sorry I derailed things a
- 15:33Speaker 1: little bit there. DeVante Parker did speak today, he did
- 15:36Speaker 1: mention and what did he have to say? How much
- 15:38Speaker 1: she said number eleven not set in stone? Evidently that
- 15:41Speaker 1: was the pressing issue with the I was like reading
- 15:43Speaker 1: the tweets, I was like this this. We got a
- 15:46Speaker 1: really big smile out of him for that question, Like
- 15:49Speaker 1: he really told me you didn't ask it. I would
- 15:53Speaker 1: have made fun of him earlier, had I know doing
- 15:57Speaker 1: just just wanted to ask you ye here lighthearted? Yeah,
- 16:01Speaker 1: he commented Mike kind of interesting asking Hi about chad
- 16:04Speaker 1: Osha in twenty nineteen being in Miami and a little
- 16:07Speaker 1: bit of connection to the offense and said, you know,
- 16:09Speaker 1: being able to move around a little bit. I think
- 16:11Speaker 1: that's part of how they do things here. Um impressions. Yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 1: said you know, he's got some zip on it and
- 16:17Speaker 1: there he goes. Everybody health No, no, no, We asked
- 16:22Speaker 1: the people was wearing eleven. No one asked the guy
- 16:24Speaker 1: who's hurt every year, how we felt. Yeah, I think
- 16:27Speaker 1: in passing. Someone said obviously injuries have played a role,
- 16:30Speaker 1: but but not how he is doing currently, but said
- 16:33Speaker 1: he's been running more on training, So I guess that's
- 16:35Speaker 1: those kinds of questions. I'd be interested. Has he done
- 16:38Speaker 1: anything differently as he tried running, tried anything different over
- 16:41Speaker 1: the years to to stay healthy because he's he's had
- 16:45Speaker 1: hamstring issues. Yeah, like chronic kind of hamstring problems. Twelve
- 16:50Speaker 1: get him up to TV twelve. Yeah, that was the
- 16:52Speaker 1: one thing you mentioned was he's running a lot more.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I felt like I felt like he kind of kind
- 16:56Speaker 1: of got stuck in that in the new Patriot thing
- 16:58Speaker 1: where what's okay to say and it's not just okay
- 17:00Speaker 1: to say, and you know, what do you bring to
- 17:02Speaker 1: the team, And he kind of started along, well, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 1: downfield thread and you know, contestic. I'm just trying to
- 17:08Speaker 1: do what, you know, be part of the team, right
- 17:10Speaker 1: like he feels like, all of a sudden, you could
- 17:11Speaker 1: just see the shift where he started talking about him
- 17:13Speaker 1: spell specifically what he can do, what his strengths are,
- 17:16Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, it was a quick
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'm just trying to help the team in any way, Yeah,
- 17:21Speaker 1: pointing at him few cards switch gears. But uh but yeah,
- 17:26Speaker 1: not a you know a little bit of a dry guy,
- 17:28Speaker 1: does It seems like he's got a big personality like
- 17:31Speaker 1: I don't care just or something, just catch, get open
- 17:34Speaker 1: and catch it. Yep, it's true. Stay healthy, stay healthy,
- 17:37Speaker 1: stay healthy, get open, open, open and catch it. I
- 17:40Speaker 1: don't even know if he needs to get open to
- 17:41Speaker 1: go up and get it. You know he can do
- 17:42Speaker 1: that too. But but good addition, I mean he's here,
- 17:45Speaker 1: So that's that's good. I mean, I like seeing just
- 17:48Speaker 1: really lowered the bar. He's here, I think. I mean,
- 17:52Speaker 1: but he's here in OTA's and as opposed to some
- 17:55Speaker 1: other wide receiver who may not be here. Oh what
- 18:00Speaker 1: what that's just funny, like from the guy had just
- 18:04Speaker 1: been killing him. He's not it's not he's not here.
- 18:07Speaker 1: He's not. Somebody caught a picture I guess of him,
- 18:10Speaker 1: like a tropical Yeah, like posting like, you know something,
- 18:13Speaker 1: thankful for another twenty four and not wasn't here. It
- 18:16Speaker 1: look like the metam in Arizona or something. Looked like
- 18:18Speaker 1: maybe a desert. But but no, I think just the
- 18:20Speaker 1: fact that the offensive pieces are are together here in April,
- 18:26Speaker 1: starting to work together. It's you didn't even have Matt Jones.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It's good you didn't, like. I mean, they're just you know,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I mean the fact that Matt you know, last year
- 18:32Speaker 1: he was a rookie. Um, he didn't come on the
- 18:34Speaker 1: team until after he's drafted, and then you're doing all
- 18:37Speaker 1: those others. Now he's gotten a head start on things
- 18:40Speaker 1: and he's taking advantage of that and you love to
- 18:42Speaker 1: see it. Yeah, yeah, I mean I think it's important,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but it's funny like getting away for a week and
- 18:47Speaker 1: you know, kind of just being more in the national scene.
- 18:49Speaker 1: It's just it is a blood bath in the AFC.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I mean, looking at what the teams do. I mean,
- 18:54Speaker 1: you know, turning into NFL Live or what's just every
- 18:58Speaker 1: week is just And that's I think the thing with
- 19:00Speaker 1: Mac for me and the offense and all this is
- 19:02Speaker 1: just getting bigger perspectives, like they just have such a hard,
- 19:05Speaker 1: hard task. Like there's so many good teams and you know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: you can stack up all the different talent around around
- 19:10Speaker 1: the AFC and the moves that have been made, but
- 19:13Speaker 1: it's hard. It's just really hard for them. And you know,
- 19:15Speaker 1: as much as I want them to be good and
- 19:17Speaker 1: you know, be the future here, that they're really going
- 19:20Speaker 1: to have to you know, find something special, I think,
- 19:23Speaker 1: to to do what they did last year and you know,
- 19:25Speaker 1: get into a playoff spot and win a bunch of
- 19:27Speaker 1: games in the middle. It's it's not getting any easier
- 19:30Speaker 1: at all. And I mean that's why it's like, all right,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm glad that the group is together and they know
- 19:34Speaker 1: what they they know what they're up against, because it's
- 19:37Speaker 1: i just don't really ever remember a time. And maybe
- 19:40Speaker 1: it's just because now we're kind of a middling team
- 19:42Speaker 1: now and looking up at some teams and not looking
- 19:45Speaker 1: down at as many as we used to. Uh, just
- 19:47Speaker 1: kind of how overwhelming it is of of how are
- 19:50Speaker 1: you going to challenge these teams? I mean then with
- 19:51Speaker 1: mac row too, you know talking about you know, acknowledging
- 19:55Speaker 1: the speed and the things around the league that have changed,
- 19:57Speaker 1: and how much are they going to do? And I
- 20:00Speaker 1: just think next next week is is huge. Once I
- 20:03Speaker 1: get over my jet lag, I think I'll start to
- 20:04Speaker 1: get a little more excited. But it's it's a huge week.
- 20:06Speaker 1: All right. Well that's today's show. Yeah, um, but that
- 20:12Speaker 1: is interesting. You brought up Matt grow and uh, you
- 20:14Speaker 1: guys weren't here, uh you know, Paul and Deuce, and
- 20:18Speaker 1: we didn't hear from you tomorrow. Did you hear what
- 20:21Speaker 1: mac rowe said in particular about what the wide receiver
- 20:25Speaker 1: position in that you have to be aggressive. You can't
- 20:28Speaker 1: expect it to come to you. You have to go
- 20:30Speaker 1: get those guys that are playmakers. What did you take
- 20:33Speaker 1: that from that? Yeah? I mean duh, you know, like,
- 20:36Speaker 1: well why haven't you well, what are you been doing
- 20:38Speaker 1: the last couple of years. You know, it's it's just
- 20:41Speaker 1: how have they ignored the draft? That that's since Nakeel,
- 20:43Speaker 1: they haven't really made a big investment in the draft.
- 20:45Speaker 1: And I think that that what you've seen. Unless you're
- 20:48Speaker 1: willing to trade a bunch of picks and pay a
- 20:50Speaker 1: bunch of money, you've you've got to get those guys
- 20:52Speaker 1: in the draft, and I think it's worth taking a
- 20:54Speaker 1: shot on one every year. I mean, you confirm what
- 20:56Speaker 1: we talked about on the show of all the proliferation
- 20:59Speaker 1: of seven on seven football and how these guys are
- 21:02Speaker 1: coming in and well, why haven't you tapped any of them? Then?
- 21:04Speaker 1: I mean you've had this offensive kind of problems for
- 21:07Speaker 1: a few years. I mean, you know, even when you
- 21:09Speaker 1: took Harry, you had to know, like, we need we
- 21:11Speaker 1: need talent on the outside. We're gonna we're not gonna
- 21:13Speaker 1: be able to continue with Edelman and Gronk and all
- 21:15Speaker 1: that when that was coming in an end. So I
- 21:17Speaker 1: like to hear him say it, but I think, like
- 21:20Speaker 1: you got to act in this draft and you've got
- 21:22Speaker 1: to continue to build because I think if they ignore
- 21:25Speaker 1: the position again, I'm gonna be annoyed if you go
- 21:29Speaker 1: and I would you rather, though, take a splash and
- 21:31Speaker 1: just get Debot or take a chance in the draft,
- 21:33Speaker 1: because half of them in this draft, the good ones,
- 21:36Speaker 1: all have torn acls or some sort of surgery. Sure,
- 21:39Speaker 1: and I mean that's a risk you're going to take
- 21:40Speaker 1: with anybody. But I think I'm at the point now
- 21:43Speaker 1: where build with the draft. Get these guys under contract
- 21:46Speaker 1: for four years on a rookie deal. You've got Mac
- 21:47Speaker 1: Jones for four more years. Potentially get somebody that can
- 21:51Speaker 1: stay with him and continue that continuity. I like that
- 21:54Speaker 1: everybody's working together right now. I don't want to go
- 21:58Speaker 1: out and all right, let's blow. I mean it's sure
- 22:01Speaker 1: on paper you could say, we go get Debo. It's
- 22:03Speaker 1: it's a great addition. I mean he will he absolutely
- 22:05Speaker 1: would he Chay, absolutely, but you know at what cost
- 22:07Speaker 1: and for how long? And you know, I just I'd
- 22:10Speaker 1: have to sign him, yeah, and he'd be around. I
- 22:12Speaker 1: mean I wouldn't Mac, No, I'm serious, I wouldn't make
- 22:14Speaker 1: that trade without signing exactly with Tamara. Like you can
- 22:17Speaker 1: sign into a five year contract and now you have
- 22:19Speaker 1: your thing with Jim and Mac. That would be my
- 22:23Speaker 1: preference to your question. That's my preference too, because I
- 22:25Speaker 1: think I'm looking at the draft board and the wide
- 22:27Speaker 1: receivers available, the really good ones. A lot of them
- 22:30Speaker 1: are coming off with torn acl or some sort of
- 22:32Speaker 1: core surgery that they just hadn't get to see them
- 22:35Speaker 1: at Pro Day or the combine. So it's like, are
- 22:37Speaker 1: they going to be the same dynamic, explosive player that
- 22:39Speaker 1: they were in college? Plus, we know Debo's good. Yes,
- 22:43Speaker 1: I know, I know there's something about Debo that Bill
- 22:45Speaker 1: really likes. That's why I'm more like, I feel like
- 22:48Speaker 1: he was close to being a Patriot at the draft.
- 22:50Speaker 1: And I know that we say that about all the
- 22:52Speaker 1: good players, all the guys that that work out around
- 22:55Speaker 1: the league were almost Patriots at the draft, and I
- 22:57Speaker 1: know that we tend to look at through Patriots centric glasses,
- 23:00Speaker 1: But I do feel like there was a connection there
- 23:03Speaker 1: with that meeting and that he was to see the
- 23:05Speaker 1: guy that there was a rumor that Bill was a
- 23:07Speaker 1: little upset that he was too open with his visit.
- 23:09Speaker 1: When he left, he took a picture of the front
- 23:12Speaker 1: and said, I'll be I'll see you in a month's right,
- 23:15Speaker 1: He's out. The word was that that that would be something.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I don't think Bill ever said anything publicly. No, The
- 23:22Speaker 1: word was that was something that they probably wouldn't like, right,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I don't know if they didn't like that or not.
- 23:26Speaker 1: They might they might have loved it. For Oh I know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: listen guy, Oh God forbid. The guy's enthusiastic about being here. Correct,
- 23:33Speaker 1: you know, like he took a picture. But unless they
- 23:36Speaker 1: unless he walked out the door and they said don't
- 23:37Speaker 1: take pictures and then he turned around and took one,
- 23:39Speaker 1: Now that that would be that would be different. I say,
- 23:41Speaker 1: you know, to to Tamara's point, you know, he was
- 23:44Speaker 1: a second round guy, you know, like that's what I mean, Paul, like,
- 23:47Speaker 1: take a chance on one of these guys in the
- 23:49Speaker 1: second round like that. You know, you don't love him,
- 23:53Speaker 1: you know, he's probably he's probably a twenty one Tray
- 23:56Speaker 1: Brooks is actually being compared to Deebo and what he
- 23:58Speaker 1: can do. Yeah, I mean he's a little bigger guy. Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you know, and people get people get the hairy jitters
- 24:04Speaker 1: with him because he's because he's big. I love him, Um,
- 24:06Speaker 1: I like trailing, But you know, Christian Watson, there are
- 24:09Speaker 1: other guys that have potential, uh, you know that you
- 24:11Speaker 1: can get in day two that you can slide in,
- 24:13Speaker 1: let him work out. You know, Dodsons somewhere down there
- 24:17Speaker 1: Day two, yell right, yeah, one Day two. I with Mike,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I think the last like four or five drafts, and
- 24:24Speaker 1: I did this for one of my notes columns during
- 24:26Speaker 1: the season, but there's an incredible amount of Day two
- 24:29Speaker 1: receivers and even Day three receivers that have really made
- 24:33Speaker 1: a mark. And this receiver class is not supposedly as
- 24:38Speaker 1: deep as say the previous three or four years, but
- 24:42Speaker 1: I think you can find a guy somewhere that should
- 24:45Speaker 1: be able to produce right away. And I'm with Mike
- 24:47Speaker 1: a little bit. And the fact that I can't understand
- 24:50Speaker 1: why Bill has neglected it in the draft, and I
- 24:52Speaker 1: know a lot of people this this is funny the
- 24:55Speaker 1: way it's gone. You know, it's starting with that Florio
- 24:57Speaker 1: piece that you talked about last week before we left, Mike,
- 25:00Speaker 1: like out of nowhere, like it's time to say it.
- 25:02Speaker 1: It's time to say the Bill. Bill has a blind spot.
- 25:05Speaker 1: You can't drapt wide receivers. And then and then you
- 25:07Speaker 1: see all of the the wall defenders tell you how
- 25:11Speaker 1: few wide receivers the Patriots are actually selected. See, I
- 25:15Speaker 1: can understand last year not taking a wide receiver in
- 25:20Speaker 1: the first couple of rounds because you spent all that
- 25:23Speaker 1: money on Agalore and born in two tight ends and
- 25:26Speaker 1: you know, so you know, I can understand you needed
- 25:29Speaker 1: the quarterback. You knew one of the first two picks
- 25:31Speaker 1: is going to be a quarterback. And then Barmore, you know,
- 25:34Speaker 1: you fell in love with him, and so I can
- 25:36Speaker 1: understand them not taking last year, you know, but then
- 25:39Speaker 1: prior years, you know, that's that's an issue. But we'll see,
- 25:43Speaker 1: you know. It seems like one of the things I
- 25:45Speaker 1: was struck by the and we've talked about it the
- 25:47Speaker 1: video that was on Patriots dot com about the scouting
- 25:50Speaker 1: department is the youth in there. You know, Patricia's got
- 25:52Speaker 1: experienced obviously, he's in personnel and Bill, but all these
- 25:56Speaker 1: guys like Marshall Oyam and matc grow In, uh Ziegler,
- 26:01Speaker 1: They're they're relatively young guys, and I like that, you know, yeah, yeah,
- 26:06Speaker 1: I mean I also think this is and I have
- 26:08Speaker 1: to like verbalize this wolf. Sorry, are there other people
- 26:12Speaker 1: out there that like, don't really want someone else's star,
- 26:15Speaker 1: You want to get your own? Star and develop them
- 26:17Speaker 1: there and have it be your guy. Like, I don't
- 26:19Speaker 1: know if that's kind of a weird thing that you know,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I have a little bit of just like Debo is great,
- 26:23Speaker 1: but I want to find our debot. You don't know
- 26:25Speaker 1: how it works? Oh, it's very simple to get past that.
- 26:27Speaker 1: How Bill is actually the guy who discovered debo. He's
- 26:33Speaker 1: been ours all along. He's been ours all along, just
- 26:35Speaker 1: like Ray Lewis come home. Just like, don't you understand
- 26:41Speaker 1: how it works? I mean when you do, when when
- 26:43Speaker 1: you look at purely money, though, there is something to
- 26:45Speaker 1: be said about drafting the guy, so at least you
- 26:47Speaker 1: get your four years or if he's the first round,
- 26:50Speaker 1: or five years of manageable money before you really have to,
- 26:54Speaker 1: you know, back up the Brinks truck. Yeah you know, Yeah, No,
- 26:57Speaker 1: I mean I get that from Robert's perspective. It's not
- 27:00Speaker 1: my money. I don't care, right, right, I don't, I don't.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I mean, I get it right, Robert has a budget.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I get that. But I'll pay for great players any day,
- 27:08Speaker 1: any day. Yeah, you know how I love debo. But
- 27:13Speaker 1: if I had my if I have my choice of
- 27:15Speaker 1: a Debo production on a rookie contract or paying debo production.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Of course I'll take the rookie contract, but yeah, what
- 27:22Speaker 1: are the chances the rookie is going to be debo
- 27:24Speaker 1: right right? And what are then? And if you get
- 27:26Speaker 1: that guy, you're gonna have to pay them if you
- 27:28Speaker 1: want to eventually will you will have to pay to
- 27:31Speaker 1: that eventually. But I just think the long term at
- 27:33Speaker 1: that position is far from set, which is born and
- 27:37Speaker 1: you know, potentially Parker being under contract next year. So
- 27:40Speaker 1: it's just a it's a long term question. And I
- 27:42Speaker 1: think there's so many guys that you could there's so
- 27:44Speaker 1: many guys that they could select on day two or three,
- 27:47Speaker 1: and you could run right down the list and I
- 27:48Speaker 1: wouldn't kick any of them out of bed, like I'll
- 27:50Speaker 1: take any of them. Any one of those guys would
- 27:52Speaker 1: come in. But any one of those guys would be exciting.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I mean, and and that's and there's a numb I mean,
- 27:59Speaker 1: there's ten ten names that you could list off day two,
- 28:02Speaker 1: day three. Oh wow, that guy's gonna bring a little
- 28:05Speaker 1: juice to the to the slot. That guy's gonna have,
- 28:07Speaker 1: you know, some size and some speed to the outside,
- 28:09Speaker 1: or you know, Christian Watson Wow, what's he gonna do?
- 28:12Speaker 1: Get him into a season three big? And yeah, Watson,
- 28:15Speaker 1: I circled him. One of the things I found with
- 28:18Speaker 1: him is he doesn't always catch the ball cleanly, you know,
- 28:21Speaker 1: like he kind of yeah yeah, but kersh not sold
- 28:25Speaker 1: on the hand. So I liked Watson. I circled him. Burks.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I mean, I talk about Burk's probably twenty one, but
- 28:31Speaker 1: but him, like I know, and they'll be certainly people
- 28:33Speaker 1: are like touch the next Harry, We're screwed um, But
- 28:37Speaker 1: I think he he is not the next Harry fel
- 28:39Speaker 1: like he takes part in like chats online that he's
- 28:43Speaker 1: got strong, like the captain of Like, guess what I
- 28:48Speaker 1: saw on Twitter day? Where did you find that, Paul?
- 28:50Speaker 1: There were people, there are people saying it. I just
- 28:52Speaker 1: wish differences. I show you what Paul has. Paul has
- 28:56Speaker 1: like chat groups coming out, like where's the negativity over
- 29:00Speaker 1: the Patriots draft picks when they make them. I'll tell
- 29:04Speaker 1: you there's plenty of negativity over Harry. Now, yeah, not
- 29:07Speaker 1: at the time. There weren't people at the time saying myself,
- 29:11Speaker 1: there are every receiver at the Patriots take if he's
- 29:17Speaker 1: on another team, he loves them, just swerved off the highway.
- 29:21Speaker 1: He's gonna calling about bro I agree with you're calling
- 29:23Speaker 1: about Burke. Could I'd be curious about him. I think
- 29:25Speaker 1: you know, you watch him versus Alabama and he's got
- 29:27Speaker 1: like a sixty or touchdown where he just pulls away
- 29:29Speaker 1: from everybody. Um, you know, So if they took a
- 29:31Speaker 1: guy like that, Wow, you know you've got size, You've
- 29:34Speaker 1: got a piece kind of like debo that you can
- 29:37Speaker 1: move around a little bit. Like Tamara said, you know
- 29:40Speaker 1: that that some kind of element that comes in. It's
- 29:42Speaker 1: just a little extra juice behind the scenes of a
- 29:45Speaker 1: We got some veterans in place that are gonna at
- 29:47Speaker 1: least teach this guy how to get in, how to
- 29:49Speaker 1: do it. Um. You know, because even when you think
- 29:51Speaker 1: of Harry when he got here, I mean, how many
- 29:53Speaker 1: what was the room like then? I mean I think
- 29:55Speaker 1: it was Edelman where there you know a lot of
- 29:57Speaker 1: guys that have been around. I don't know, um, but
- 30:00Speaker 1: I just think there's a lot you can do. The
- 30:02Speaker 1: preseason injury to Harry killed because that completely takes him
- 30:06Speaker 1: off of Brady's radar, and while he's spending half of
- 30:10Speaker 1: the season just trying to get physically up to speed.
- 30:13Speaker 1: He's not really getting the reps that he needs to
- 30:16Speaker 1: get that you know, that put him behind. Do you
- 30:18Speaker 1: think they could kill a guy like the Jamison's, the
- 30:21Speaker 1: Mechi's of the world, who are also gonna come. I
- 30:23Speaker 1: think it's the difference there would be that he is
- 30:27Speaker 1: not inheriting like if Brady were here, I would say, yes,
- 30:29Speaker 1: that's gonna really hurt a guy like that because he's
- 30:32Speaker 1: gonna Brady's gonna have him completely off the radar because
- 30:35Speaker 1: he's not gonna be able to work with him. But
- 30:37Speaker 1: I think with a guy like Mac, especially with with
- 30:40Speaker 1: Metchi who he actually played with, yeah, I think would
- 30:44Speaker 1: be less of an obstacle. I also think some of
- 30:47Speaker 1: these guys, I think our Bardie Burt Brier wrote about
- 30:50Speaker 1: this this week about um the lineman from the lineman
- 30:55Speaker 1: from the Eagles, Dickerson who had the torn acl and
- 30:58Speaker 1: a lot of people didn't know where he was going
- 30:59Speaker 1: to He ended up like playing thirteen games. So and
- 31:04Speaker 1: I understand the little bit dual perspective of the acal
- 31:06Speaker 1: injury that you're gone a little different with a little differentsive.
- 31:09Speaker 1: But if he could play half the year and you know,
- 31:12Speaker 1: like I said, you know, guy like MATCHI has some
- 31:16Speaker 1: comfort level. They're already with Mac. You know that that
- 31:19Speaker 1: wouldn't be Do you think that's overrated? And do you
- 31:21Speaker 1: think we're making too much of that? I don't know
- 31:24Speaker 1: of because he played a couple of years, Like you know,
- 31:28Speaker 1: I know everyone's on that just because they were together once.
- 31:30Speaker 1: But it's it's also like, but there's other guys who
- 31:33Speaker 1: might be better, and that will make like that. He
- 31:35Speaker 1: might not have played with Mac for a couple of years,
- 31:38Speaker 1: but he's a mixture. They've already played together, and Belichick
- 31:42Speaker 1: likes to draft sure. I think the bigger reason that
- 31:47Speaker 1: a lot of people are talking about it is because
- 31:49Speaker 1: of how well it worked with Waddle and Tua and
- 31:52Speaker 1: you know, the Chase and some of the other Right,
- 31:56Speaker 1: the league is such a yeah, it's like, oh that
- 32:00Speaker 1: work if it's broke, don't figure. Yeah, I can give you.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I can give you an even longer list of guys
- 32:05Speaker 1: that worked out that didn't play together. Yeah, most of
- 32:08Speaker 1: them don't. I guess in college it's just specific to Mechi.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I guess my thing with him is I feel like
- 32:13Speaker 1: he kind of is what he is in a good way.
- 32:16Speaker 1: But also I don't really see his ceiling as something
- 32:20Speaker 1: that like, you know, Watson might, yeah, and it might
- 32:22Speaker 1: be a little bit more of a of a chance
- 32:24Speaker 1: on a small school guy. But um, I don't know.
- 32:27Speaker 1: There's a certain names that continue to pop up. All Okay,
- 32:30Speaker 1: you just ran out of here. Yeah. This conversation reminds
- 32:36Speaker 1: me of our conversation with Robert Kraft at the owners
- 32:39Speaker 1: meetings about how he wasn't concerned that the Patriots haven't
- 32:42Speaker 1: made a huge splash in the off season because of
- 32:45Speaker 1: the gems that can be found in the draft. Yeah. Yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 1: I'm got to find them. But but he emphasized you
- 32:50Speaker 1: have to draft. Well yeah, I mean he said that
- 32:52Speaker 1: now two years in a row, and I think the
- 32:55Speaker 1: message is clear. You know, when we can we can
- 32:58Speaker 1: think that from the outside, but when it's you hear
- 33:00Speaker 1: it from the inside, it carries a little bit more yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 1: more weight. I thought there was some of that with
- 33:04Speaker 1: Grow too, of of of what he was saying, and
- 33:06Speaker 1: again to go back to some of the stuff like
- 33:08Speaker 1: are you sure you should be saying that right now?
- 33:10Speaker 1: There was a couple with grow a little bit on
- 33:12Speaker 1: that call too. Um, But but you know, I go
- 33:15Speaker 1: back to something I said too. I mean, I think
- 33:17Speaker 1: Bill gave Matt Grows a lot of credit for the
- 33:20Speaker 1: draft last year, So I mean, I think he needs
- 33:22Speaker 1: to do that again, you know. So I'm hopeful that
- 33:24Speaker 1: if they have another draft where you come out of
- 33:26Speaker 1: it where you know, of course, with Mac quarterback, the
- 33:30Speaker 1: excitement was palpable there Friday morning. You know, we came
- 33:34Speaker 1: back and Max coming here and we got a quarterback.
- 33:36Speaker 1: If they can just get a touch of that kind
- 33:39Speaker 1: of energy of oh okay, we got a couple of guys.
- 33:42Speaker 1: The problem is that the other teams are going to
- 33:44Speaker 1: get those guys too, and so you know, it's it's
- 33:46Speaker 1: it always you always forget you're fall in love with
- 33:48Speaker 1: someone and you're like last year we're at fifteen. Now
- 33:52Speaker 1: you're six picks behind that, you know, which is significant,
- 33:56Speaker 1: and teams with multiple picks in front of you. How
- 33:58Speaker 1: does that all play out? I mean, I think the
- 34:00Speaker 1: quarterback situation is something to watch because that could really
- 34:04Speaker 1: you know, help push some guys down to them. Um,
- 34:07Speaker 1: but we were, you know, we were talking upstairs a
- 34:08Speaker 1: little bit about draft, and I just, yeah, but they
- 34:10Speaker 1: need a cornerback. I kind of look at the quarterback thing,
- 34:14Speaker 1: and a lot of people have talked about it, like
- 34:16Speaker 1: Mike just did I look at it a little bit
- 34:18Speaker 1: of the opposite. Yeah, it'd be great if three or
- 34:21Speaker 1: four quarterbacks get taken, but the class is so bad
- 34:26Speaker 1: it's unlikely to happen, right, I know I agree with that,
- 34:28Speaker 1: and that's why I want to see as anybody willing. Oh,
- 34:31Speaker 1: I think how much are people willing to take a
- 34:32Speaker 1: show on Kenny Pickett? How much do you like Kenny
- 34:34Speaker 1: pick Well? I think it's more likely that there'll be
- 34:36Speaker 1: a run on cornerbacks and the Patriots will miss out
- 34:39Speaker 1: on one of those guys. I think this is going
- 34:41Speaker 1: to be the most unpredictable first round we've we've Yeah,
- 34:44Speaker 1: it's all over the place, Yeah, picks, trades, ye, movement.
- 34:49Speaker 1: It just nobody's there's no consensus on anything. Yeah. Food
- 34:52Speaker 1: in the top food. Are you hungry? I'm okay, sure, Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I didn't want to. First of all, it was too
- 34:59Speaker 1: late for you, I did ask, okay, all right, all right,
- 35:02Speaker 1: all right, eight five five? After the food. I don't
- 35:05Speaker 1: like him. I don't like eating in front of people,
- 35:07Speaker 1: you know, unless it's Eric, because what I eat he
- 35:11Speaker 1: doesn't eat, so it doesn't matter. He's got his carrots
- 35:13Speaker 1: don't work. Yeah, it's an Apple. Five hundred is the
- 35:17Speaker 1: ticket line, eight five five pass five hundred. Web radio
- 35:20Speaker 1: at patriots dot com is the email address. Um, let's
- 35:24Speaker 1: uh see what's going on in the phones. We'll start
- 35:26Speaker 1: with Patti and agawam. What's up? Patty Brett? Yes, I'm
- 35:33Speaker 1: dead to you? Why how dare you see? I'm sorry? Man?
- 35:41Speaker 1: If you if you're gonna, if you're gonna drink one
- 35:43Speaker 1: of those types of beverages, it's coke, and I know
- 35:46Speaker 1: that we're at Pepsi house. You're wrong. Pepsi's far superior.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Pepsi Okay, No, I don't always drink soda. Pepsi's for kids.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Do you have Do you have a opinion on that?
- 36:00Speaker 1: Tomorrow Coker Pepsi? Um? Personally, I don't like dark soda, Okay,
- 36:07Speaker 1: I like sprite. Sprite is my favorite. But let's expand
- 36:11Speaker 1: upon that and you go. Now, you got to get
- 36:12Speaker 1: Sierra missed? How do you feel about that Pepsi family?
- 36:15Speaker 1: I don't like miss see. I don't love it up.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I don't love really No, seven up the same seven
- 36:22Speaker 1: up Sprite kind if we did a blind taste test slice,
- 36:26Speaker 1: you would be able to tell the difference. No, that's
- 36:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying. They all taste the same to him. Wait,
- 36:30Speaker 1: I think I would be able to tell that Spright,
- 36:32Speaker 1: Sierra Miss and seven Up taste completely different. I would
- 36:34Speaker 1: be able to tell the I think I could do
- 36:36Speaker 1: that one. Really, I think I smell it. We have
- 36:38Speaker 1: an office taste test soda soda off. I like it.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I always I've been waiting for the bud light cause
- 36:46Speaker 1: light middle light challenge myself. I could see that I
- 36:49Speaker 1: could could as no way I could. I'd at least
- 36:52Speaker 1: get close. I could pick out minimal lights between anything else,
- 36:55Speaker 1: because that's my brand. But I want to kind of
- 36:58Speaker 1: piggyback off of something you'd say on Tuesday. And that's
- 37:02Speaker 1: if it's able to hit on at least three guys,
- 37:04Speaker 1: I mean that that could be a home run. I
- 37:06Speaker 1: think we could be pretty good shape too. And I
- 37:09Speaker 1: do have a list of three guys that I would
- 37:11Speaker 1: like to see and take and hopefully hit on. Yeah,
- 37:14Speaker 1: and it's it's realistic. I don't think it's unrealistic that
- 37:18Speaker 1: we could get all three of these guys and that
- 37:20Speaker 1: they turned out to be good players. Now, last year,
- 37:23Speaker 1: coming in, we knew that we needed a quarterback. You know,
- 37:26Speaker 1: I know those reports about wide receiver. I hate to
- 37:29Speaker 1: say it fans, but our biggest position in need is
- 37:32Speaker 1: interior offensive line. My number one guy is Dilond Johnson.
- 37:36Speaker 1: My number two guy would be Kyler Gordon, and number
- 37:39Speaker 1: three John Metchi douce I put a lot of stock
- 37:42Speaker 1: into him as a rapport with Max, just because Eric
- 37:45Speaker 1: you discussed on Tuesday. Yeah, you could draft somebody and
- 37:48Speaker 1: they could develop a rapport, But you have guys on
- 37:51Speaker 1: your team that already had at least a year of
- 37:53Speaker 1: rapport with Max. Why not bring somebody in that all
- 37:56Speaker 1: that you don't have to like change the system around
- 37:59Speaker 1: a lot that he already knows that well. Mac is
- 38:01Speaker 1: like and he likes to play, you know, yeah, yeah,
- 38:04Speaker 1: I mean what if he doesn't like it, Well, I
- 38:09Speaker 1: guess no, doesn't mean Matchi's gonna be a bust. Maybe
- 38:16Speaker 1: MATCHI doesn't like the way Mac Jones play. I mean,
- 38:18Speaker 1: I'm just making that up, but like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 38:21Speaker 1: I kind of I'm with Fred on that. There's a
- 38:24Speaker 1: lot of college guys that go to play with Yeah,
- 38:27Speaker 1: different teams that develop just far. Yeah, I'm not. I'm
- 38:29Speaker 1: not so hung up on that. I really I just
- 38:32Speaker 1: think it's give me a good I just think it's
- 38:33Speaker 1: an interesting layer in to the situation. Yeah, because of Patty,
- 38:37Speaker 1: like the amount that has happened recently. Yeah, and I
- 38:39Speaker 1: and I like MATCHI I just I feel like I
- 38:41Speaker 1: want to swing for the fences a little bit. I
- 38:43Speaker 1: want a little bit of I like them. But I
- 38:47Speaker 1: just think they're gonna be together for four years. He's
- 38:49Speaker 1: gonna catch up their professionals now, they up to whatever
- 38:52Speaker 1: experience they have together. And I just know that cousin
- 38:54Speaker 1: Patty is right. They're gonna take Zion Johnson in the
- 38:56Speaker 1: first round like a guard in the first round. I'm
- 38:58Speaker 1: gonna throw up Todd's in North Carolina. Hey Todd, Hey guys,
- 39:03Speaker 1: I just want to say that with Yoman's work, where
- 39:05Speaker 1: for you to taking care of us as a couple
- 39:07Speaker 1: of days. I really appreciated, do you guys? Well, thank you.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I really appreciate tomorrow bringing some physicality and athletic system
- 39:16Speaker 1: back to the show. Hey. My big thing is I
- 39:22Speaker 1: was talking to some people and they don't seem to
- 39:23Speaker 1: think that any of Bill's draft picks were involved in
- 39:27Speaker 1: the first, like I know, the very first super Bowl,
- 39:29Speaker 1: it was mainly he took the team over. But the
- 39:33Speaker 1: next two, the second and Thursday one, I thought that
- 39:36Speaker 1: he had some guys on there wasn't wasn't Will Park
- 39:39Speaker 1: on one, and sure the guy that's going to go
- 39:42Speaker 1: into Richard Richard Seymour started on the first one, yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 1: and the third one, first one and the third one, Yeah,
- 39:49Speaker 1: you're in the second one and the second one, right,
- 39:51Speaker 1: not like okay, Yeah, I was just I was in
- 39:54Speaker 1: a a little bit of a heated debate because no,
- 39:56Speaker 1: the first the first part of the dynasty was largely
- 39:59Speaker 1: a nucleus of hold over players. I mean, that's fat.
- 40:02Speaker 1: You can't you can't escape that. But Richard Seymour, Matt light,
- 40:07Speaker 1: Ty Warren Um, Eugene Wilson, Sante Samuel, Vince Wilford, Yeah,
- 40:14Speaker 1: Daniel Graham, these guys were all draft picks. They were
- 40:17Speaker 1: all parts of those you know, either one, two or
- 40:20Speaker 1: all three of those three championships. Am wrong on that
- 40:24Speaker 1: they carried Tom Brady clearly. I just feel like we're
- 40:28Speaker 1: I mean, he's never drafted a single good player in
- 40:30Speaker 1: twenty two years. How he goes into this this like
- 40:34Speaker 1: deep dark web. Dude. I just wish you're you're jet
- 40:38Speaker 1: like would wear off and you could bring some energy.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to that. Because they can draft corners,
- 40:44Speaker 1: I don't think they can really hit on receivers tun
- 40:46Speaker 1: in them. Wait until late What about the second round corners?
- 40:48Speaker 1: They've had some missus Terrence Wheatley, Rosie Dowling, Duke Dawson
- 40:54Speaker 1: and Williams. First round they just he bucked it. But
- 40:59Speaker 1: there's a million of them, like six guys they talk
- 41:01Speaker 1: in the second round and none of them could play. Yeah,
- 41:03Speaker 1: we'll just wait if you get they get on drafted wars.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Just getting on the drafted wanted a work? Are you
- 41:08Speaker 1: getting on an airplane? Todd? What's going on over there?
- 41:10Speaker 1: Out of his car? Oh? It's getting out of his car? Okay,
- 41:12Speaker 1: all right, thanks for the call. People calling on the run,
- 41:16Speaker 1: they're like doing errands and calling the show and gotta
- 41:18Speaker 1: get it in. Hey, yeah, get calling while you can.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Christians in La, what's up, Christian? Christian Kirk Oh, I
- 41:24Speaker 1: didn't see you while I was there, Christian, Thanks for
- 41:26Speaker 1: blowing up the wide Christian? Are you there calling? Christian? No,
- 41:30Speaker 1: he's not there. I didn't appreciate what you guys had
- 41:33Speaker 1: to say about my contract the Jaguars. Hey, they offered it.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna take it. Okay, all right, what do you want?
- 41:39Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break. Lots of emails coming in right,
- 41:42Speaker 1: so we will when we come back right after this.

- 51:19Speaker 1: And now great moments in history. I'm gonna push back
- 51:25Speaker 1: here on everybody. What what? What does everybody have against
- 51:28Speaker 1: Robbie Anderson? He's never made an important catch in his
- 51:31Speaker 1: career like against US has done well when oh, I
- 51:34Speaker 1: remember game, and don't make me go to my phone, Deuce,
- 51:40Speaker 1: you have a computer there. He's a thoroughly average player.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Who yeah, is He's like a David Gibbons type, isn't he? Yeah?
- 51:48Speaker 1: I have no interest in David Gibbons right now, okay,
- 51:50Speaker 1: all right, right now? They need a number one receiver.
- 51:55Speaker 1: David Gibbins isn't there, And I don't think Robbie Anderson
- 51:58Speaker 1: is either. No. No, but that's why I'm not interested.
- 52:01Speaker 1: He's still gonna get number one money. Of course he is.
- 52:04Speaker 1: You think that's what he makes. Why do you think
- 52:05Speaker 1: he's on the block. Okay, so you guys want to
- 52:07Speaker 1: hear about thanks, please do because I have the prolific career.
- 52:13Speaker 1: There was one reasonably good game. There was one reasonably
- 52:16Speaker 1: the game where he was targeted twelve times and had
- 52:18Speaker 1: four catches for seventy six. Is the apex. Here we go,
- 52:23Speaker 1: two for thirty four, none for none, one for two,
- 52:27Speaker 1: three for twenty four, three for eleven, one for ten,
- 52:29Speaker 1: and one for two. He is O and nine career
- 52:31Speaker 1: against the Patriots. He's had. Maybe I'm thinking of Wayne Krabet.
- 52:37Speaker 1: That's another great moment from all right back here in

- 52:56Speaker 1: at accents, impressions and spelling. What is your favorite Patriots
- 53:00Speaker 1: related memory? And why I know your many years? Last
- 53:06Speaker 1: year this morning when Vante paid about the fact, well
- 53:10Speaker 1: I've only been here since July, not even a year.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Huh no, not even a year yet. Um, you've had
- 53:17Speaker 1: a lot of good interviews though you've talked to a
- 53:19Speaker 1: lot of the different folks right now they know well,
- 53:23Speaker 1: you know, talking to people at the comments off the record,
- 53:26Speaker 1: off the record. Um, I would say my favorite interview
- 53:29Speaker 1: definitely Kendrick Bourne. Um I would agree with David Andrews
- 53:32Speaker 1: to say that he is the energizer Bunny and energizer Bunny.
- 53:36Speaker 1: But favorite moment, um I would have to say the
- 53:40Speaker 1: Patriots winning streak, like that was just a really fun
- 53:44Speaker 1: stretch of games to be doing, especially for our PUTV,
- 53:49Speaker 1: Like it was great. We had plenty of talk about
- 53:51Speaker 1: yeah and then we didn't. It was good at last year.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Hopefully we can get you some more memories. Yeah that instead,
- 54:01Speaker 1: you know, that winning streak, Like we look at twenty
- 54:04Speaker 1: years of what we've been through when yeah, this this
- 54:06Speaker 1: poor person, I know, So how about this? What's your
- 54:12Speaker 1: favorite memory in you know, working for Notre Dame Miami,
- 54:17Speaker 1: Like was there something like that stood out there? Because
- 54:20Speaker 1: I know neither one of those teams won a national
- 54:22Speaker 1: championship or anything, but like anything that happened there that
- 54:25Speaker 1: was like wow, that was a great experience. Um, the
- 54:28Speaker 1: Notre Dame women's basketball team winning the national championship. Oh okay,
- 54:31Speaker 1: so you weren't just football there, Yeah, everything there. Um.
- 54:35Speaker 1: So Muffette McGraw getting her second national championship was amazing
- 54:39Speaker 1: and the fact that it happened like the same day
- 54:43Speaker 1: I think, like two decades later was crazy and so
- 54:46Speaker 1: that was cool. Um. Going to the Frozen Four in
- 54:49Speaker 1: Minnesota was amazing. With the hockey team, that was great.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Football wise. I was there with Brian Kelly like his
- 54:56Speaker 1: like rough season where they were like three and eight,
- 54:59Speaker 1: so that was rough. Next year they went to play
- 55:01Speaker 1: LSU before they won the national championship, So that was
- 55:04Speaker 1: kind of cool too. That's where you got his accent.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Probably he picked it up one time. Um, as far
- 55:14Speaker 1: as accents go, I've heard that I have a little
- 55:17Speaker 1: bit of a Southern accent because I'm from Virginia, so
- 55:20Speaker 1: that might come out a little bit when I say, y'all,
- 55:22Speaker 1: maybe yeah, But I don't like stupid a lot. What
- 55:24Speaker 1: about stupid impression accents? Because that's that's that's more when
- 55:29Speaker 1: when when on this show, when they refer to accents,
- 55:31Speaker 1: it's people giving an impression of an accent. So we
- 55:34Speaker 1: had an accent off Eric and I because Eric, you know,
- 55:38Speaker 1: he's a traveler. So yeah, so I challenged it to
- 55:43Speaker 1: an accent off and people randomly said, okay, Germany and
- 55:47Speaker 1: we had to come up with a German accent. Yea,
- 55:49Speaker 1: then that a little I'm going to be pretty bad
- 55:53Speaker 1: at this. Well, just so you know the fact that
- 55:56Speaker 1: your eyes just got why there's the appropriate response because
- 55:59Speaker 1: I know you were immediately thinking, yeah, this can't be good.
- 56:02Speaker 1: It's twenty twenty two. I don't really want to be
- 56:05Speaker 1: involved in that, and you are correct, Samerath. That is
- 56:08Speaker 1: why you will have a long and prosperous career. Where
- 56:11Speaker 1: As Fred and I are on the way out. What
- 56:13Speaker 1: was the last one we had? Uh an off? What
- 56:16Speaker 1: was the off that we impression? The impression off? Yeah,
- 56:19Speaker 1: now that was different. That was like, we mean, no offense. Yeah,
- 56:23Speaker 1: you have to do like you know Clint Eastwood or yeah,
- 56:26Speaker 1: you know famous people. Yeah. I feel like this is
- 56:29Speaker 1: y'all's um version of charades. Well pretty much. Now see
- 56:33Speaker 1: what happens is Eric Eric, Eric likes to fashion himself
- 56:36Speaker 1: as an expert in a lot of areas that's not.
- 56:39Speaker 1: And then I challenge him on and I say, okay,
- 56:41Speaker 1: because did you know that he was a stand up
- 56:43Speaker 1: comedian at one time. I did it for a little while. Yeah,
- 56:46Speaker 1: I didn't make a living off of it, but I
- 56:47Speaker 1: did it for about a year after college. You got
- 56:49Speaker 1: out there and did it. I think that it is cool.
- 56:52Speaker 1: It's it's I wouldn't have the and and just they
- 56:56Speaker 1: don't ask you back, you're not good. I wouldn't have
- 56:58Speaker 1: involved and did it for a year. Oh yeah, right.
- 57:01Speaker 1: And I also think it's one of the hardest things
- 57:02Speaker 1: to do in entertainment. I'll tell you something a funny
- 57:05Speaker 1: story when I kind of like maybe in my second
- 57:09Speaker 1: or third year here with the organization, you know, uh,
- 57:13Speaker 1: the crafts like me, you know, and they really really
- 57:16Speaker 1: like So I got invited not just to the you know,
- 57:20Speaker 1: the craft the Patriots Christmas Party, but I get invited
- 57:24Speaker 1: to the IFP International Force Products Christmas parties, that the
- 57:27Speaker 1: big one. And so they decided, like without telling robes,
- 57:31Speaker 1: like they had me like kind of be the host
- 57:33Speaker 1: of it, oh the saster of ceremonies. So I got
- 57:36Speaker 1: out there and I roasted and you know, like made
- 57:43Speaker 1: fun of him, and the whole room was just like
- 57:45Speaker 1: people were laughing after week because you think you're funny.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Did you know you were going to be hosting it
- 57:52Speaker 1: or do you think you were going like as a
- 57:54Speaker 1: guest and they're like, no, you're you're the host. Get
- 57:55Speaker 1: up there a couple of days in advance. I like, yeah,
- 57:58Speaker 1: I was told, okay, I had some jokes about you know,
- 58:02Speaker 1: him and Myra and how Myra did you plan the
- 58:04Speaker 1: jokes a little bit? Yeah, and how Myra's work shop
- 58:07Speaker 1: them a little bit. I didn't have any place to
- 58:09Speaker 1: workshop them out. I got the Q standing in front
- 58:12Speaker 1: of the mirror. I didn't have the show then, so
- 58:14Speaker 1: he didn't have a place to workshop. I remember for applause.
- 58:17Speaker 1: I remember Myra at the that was funny. And then
- 58:20Speaker 1: he comes out. You think you're finding you're fired. I
- 58:25Speaker 1: didn't like that. Oh, but the end of the story,
- 58:28Speaker 1: I never got invited back. That was it. We gotta
- 58:31Speaker 1: get a better host that well, they probably by that,
- 58:35Speaker 1: but they had somebody famous coming in. Yeah, it did
- 58:37Speaker 1: be the MC like an actual yeah, get that guy
- 58:40Speaker 1: over to Elton John for the entertainment. Right. That was
- 58:43Speaker 1: the end of that. Kersh Elton j H. Jacket and
- 58:47Speaker 1: Arbor says, I took the so called Pepsi Challenge after
- 58:50Speaker 1: completing a five mile charity running an arbor. The challenge
- 58:54Speaker 1: was conducted at an official Pepsi trailer with the name
- 58:56Speaker 1: Pepsi painted on it. The challenge consisted of drinking two
- 58:59Speaker 1: paper up of cola, the first cup being room temperature
- 59:02Speaker 1: coke and the second being ice cold. Pepsi, being a
- 59:06Speaker 1: coke drinker, I immediately recognized and preferred the coke, even
- 59:09Speaker 1: though it was lukewarm. Beware of taste tests that serve
- 59:13Speaker 1: lukewarm drinks. That's not fair. What's your perfect soda like
- 59:20Speaker 1: style of service? Like for me? Crushed ice, the crushed dice.
- 59:24Speaker 1: Oh you like that, fountain soda, crushed ice, fountain soda.
- 59:27Speaker 1: For me, that's that's as good as it gets. Yeah,
- 59:29Speaker 1: crushed ice, crushed ice. Actually, mine is an ice cold
- 59:34Speaker 1: can of coke. No, you don't want to water down
- 59:37Speaker 1: ice cold, but ice coal, you know, ice cold can
- 59:41Speaker 1: of coke. Yeah. I like the big, the big ice
- 59:43Speaker 1: like cubes of ice. But I don't like that because
- 59:48Speaker 1: getting an ice cube in like the top lip or
- 59:49Speaker 1: the nose. While we're talking about a fine whisky, very
- 59:52Speaker 1: little drinking experience obviously due huh. Got a drinking problem.
- 59:55Speaker 1: It's not too much. I just don't know how the
- 59:57Speaker 1: problem with drinking? What do you pouring it on his forehead?
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Bottled soda? I love bottles, see, I love the old
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: coke bottle. But it doesn't keep it as cold. Yeah,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: I just I need ice. I need I need ice
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: in it. That's that's ideal. Crushed ice. Crushed ice is
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I just we just once again, I always agree with you.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Push back, Paul, I don't push back, push back wrong.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Crushed ice is terrible. I just remember like being a
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: little kid, and back in those days, like parents would
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: feed their kids soda like it wasn't a big deal.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Now I didn't know that. Yeah, I think parents think more,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: you know, like it's it's not really good for you.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: You know when you were a kid, they served sasaparilla, right.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: But my dad would take me into the store like
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: whether it's you know, whatever store, and they'd have like soda,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: and I would just be amazed at how fast he
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: could drink the soda, Like how how does because I
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: would get it up my nose and like the whole
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: thing and now I can Yeah, looks like that that
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: coke commercial with the me and Joe Green where he
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: takes the kids thing, because when you're a kid, you
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: try to soda, the bubbles go up your nose and
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: everything like that, and like like wow, we drinks that
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: so fast. And I drank way too much soda as
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: a kid. I means free rain. I don't I can't
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: even imagine how many cokes I would have drank in
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: a given day when I was thirteen years Oh yeah,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: just five. I don't know what she's talking about. I
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: would drink like a lot of whatever. Like I would
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: literally drink a quart of orange juice, like standing in
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: front of the fridge, like in two gulps, Like I
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: was just high liquid intake. Yeah, you know, same with soda,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Like I just drank too much of everything. But you know,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: whatever doesn't show soda. What's going on with Jimmy? Yeah,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: subway commercial was grandma. Yeah, it's a good thing. He's
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: so handsome. I don't cook. Jimmy's got himself a commercial
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: subway commercial. He's in the eat Fresh Refresh thing. They've
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: got him doing it too, and his grandmother's in it.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: That's cute. Yeah, Grandma Garoppola. Yeah, let's see. I thought
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I had another welcome to Marek email. But I lost it.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: There's so many emails in here. Good job, Fred, But
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: let's go to the phones. Uh five pats, five hundred.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Let's go to Sean and Vancouver. What Sean he gave
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: up on it will be We'll go down to New
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Orleans where Jared is. Hey, Jared Pelicans fan. Hey, how
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: y'all doing good? How you doing? We're good? I got
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: two questions and a tribute question for y'all fail Are
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: okay with that? All right? All right? First question is, um,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: what are the chances of Derek Stingley becoming a Patriot
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: after his dad play? What is I think? Thirteen point
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: six percent? Yeah, it's he's probably gonna be gone before
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: I think he's probably gone. I feel the same way.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I think he'll be gone. And just you know, for clarification,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: he's Darryl's grandson. Not right, okay, But there's a little
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: uncertainty with with Stingley because he had the great year
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: in nineteen and then battled injuries in twenty and twenty
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: one and hasn't been nearly as productive now. The talent
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: is off the charts. He watched watch some of the film. Yeah,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: he's really really talented. Being from New Orleans and seeing
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: him play at Las Shoe that you're right about him
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: only playing in twenty nineteen. Yeah, but he's uh, yeah,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: he's a really really talented player. I don't think he'll
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: be there at twenty one. Do you think that he's
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: so talented because he had the opportunity to practice against
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Burrow and Chase probably didn't hurt, Probably didn't hurt. Yeah,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: I mean he was a true freshman on that team too. Wow. Yeah,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: I mean it's I think it's a good question for
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: all those guys. I mean, it's a question with Mac,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: it's a question with Nakobe Dean playing. You know, all
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: those Georgia defenders. It's something you got to out defensive
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: players too, Mike. The trivia question is what is the
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: most lapside in championship score like the NFL. In the NFL,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: I mean Super Bowl San Francisco fifty five to ten
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: over Denver? Is that right? Oh? Champions championship like not
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: not just super Bowl seventy seventy three to nothing? Whoa
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Chicago seventy three nothing? Yeah, yeah, seventy three nothings? Right?
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: How did you know that he was at the game.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: He's got his like you know, his raccoon firmo, you
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: know his panel. They didn't even have the forward pass.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: That's what made it even more Chicago and Washington, right, yeah, wow,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: funny he knew I didn't always the next him at
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: the game. Well did you did? You used to travel
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: in a rumble seat in the back of the car.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I used to travel in a Deloreans. Wow, when you
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: were at the IFD Christmas Parking All right, thanks Jared.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Random trivia question seventy three to no. I liked it.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: What year was that? It was thirties? Mightbea way, mightbe
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: you're yeah, oh yeah, NFL champion That's why when he
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: said championship, that's why I said super Bowl, right, I
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: thought he was talking. I was taking super Bowl. That's
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: why I went with the fifty five to ten. I
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: thought that was the biggest because also NFCAFC those are
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: considered championships too, So you gotta define it, you gotta yeah,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: right that super Bowl is one through three. I think
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: we're NFL AFL championship games technically, yeah, right, right, Because
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: then the merger happened, and let's see, Burton's in New York,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Kate Burton, what's going on here? Who's part Harty Arty? Yeah?
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: What's going on with the Hell's going on over here?
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I think people call it work and then the boss
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: comes and they have to hang up. I don't know,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: does see it seems sometimes people are like, I can't
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: really talk right now. I have to get this question
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: in though. What do you think of John Mitchell? I'll
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: take it. I'll take it off here. Uh. Sean is
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: in Vancouver. Hey Sean, Hey, guys about that. The call
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: wasn't there. I wasn't sure if I was on there
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: or not. But anyways, welcome to the show. Tamara. Are
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: you going to be here next week for the draft? Yeah,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: it would be pretty cool. I will do rivers, have
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: tides careful it is. We don't want to hear that.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Do your research and come back on Thursday. So so,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: like Yeric, I love Jordan Davis to be false. But
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: another thing I kind of have a question about is
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: do the Patriots currently have someone who could set the edge,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: like be the next Frable or Nikovich. Could Ronnie Perkins
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: or Joshua do that? Or if Jermaine Johnson is there
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: at twenty one, do they take him. I think it's
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: an excellent question, Sean. And something I'm surprised people don't
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: talk about more is, you know, say what you will
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: about high Tower and van Noy and Collins, but those
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: were guys who played a lot last year. And you know,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I think setting the edge is an important part of defense.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: And I don't know who's really going to do it
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: across from Jude On it's right now, it's an unproven person.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: So like I just I look at it, and I say,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: we need defense in that first round. I don't really care.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I would love, you know, a versatile defensive front guy. Um,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: I don't know if there's gonna be one there, Like
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: I mean, Jermaine, sure absolutely. I think that that's you know,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: like it's like Chandler Jones, it's I mean, I equated
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: to the Chandler. God, I can't break it. I can't
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: break it Schandler. You know what's fun to quick aside?
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Driving through LA and I'm like, do I go left
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: on Chandler because there's a road called Chandler in LA?
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: And and Lan's like, what did you just call it?
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: I like, lane makes fun of you? Yeah? No, yeah, yeah, no,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: it's hilarious, But I think it's a great point. I
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: don't think enough people talk about it. You know, everybody
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: wants to talk about wide receiver at twenty one. I
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: think this defense they haven't touched the front seven. They've
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: lost a bunch of guys from it. I think it's
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: in need of a twenty twelve double dip. Two guys
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: that can come in and play in the front Sean.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: I wish we knew what Perkins could do. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: I mean, but we haven't seen Perkins since like the
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: last preseason. I mean, he looked okay in the last
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: preseason game. Other than that, I didn't know nothing, really
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: nothing at all during the season. Double dip and get
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Walker and Dean. Oh don't please Walker to me, I
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: love him. I mean, well, you just made a whole
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: new thing for me to worry about, because you know,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I live for things to be concerned the whole Georgia
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: defense thing. I've been like, well, look at all these guys,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: they're all like, who's the real superstar and who's the
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: one just they're going to get the two guys that
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: are only good because of the one guy who made
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: it right. And I mean, and I think you could
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: probably make a case that any one of them is
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: the weak links. I mean, they're all good football players obviously,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: but you know, Walker didn't have a ton of production, Davis.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: You got some concerns about how is he going to
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: come in and play all three downs? Dean is under size. Um.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: You know, I think Walker probably a little bit less
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: just because he's not viewed as one of those top,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: top top guys. But I think it's valid, you know,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: all right, thanks for the call, Sean. I love Salman
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: in the Bay Area rights in. First off, welcome to
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Marrow to Patriots Unfiltered, You've already increased the intellect in
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: the room tenfold, kidding. Just take it easy, Eric, look
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: forward to having an additional voice to hear on all
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: things Patriots and TV shows. I don't believe the Brady
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: to the Finns rumor was covered on any of the
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: recent shows. It's not a direct impact of the Patriots,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: but could have indirectly impacted the Patriots since they're a
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: division team. I don't know. I think we talked about
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: it in every show. Yeah. Absolutely. What do you make
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: of this rumor that he was going to come back
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: as a minority owner? Unretire and play for the Finns
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: with Sean Payton as the coach. We talked about that
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: many times. I don't buy it. It seems a little
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: out there. And also I believe the Bucks would still
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: retain his rights if this unfolded. But I will say,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: if this is true, Belichick was already two steps ahead
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: because of the text of Flores. Yeah, I heard that
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: this guy's being sarcastic. I think them out. Yeah, I
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: because I assume you guys did talk about Yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: we did. And he's got another episode of The Man
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: and Arena coming out. I thought, I what else? What left?
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: So how's he? I it's just the one that never did? Yeah,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: this is so? This is this season, this season or
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: the last chance. I think he talks about I think
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: he talks about leaving the Patriots in this one. That's
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: that's how it was built. To me, what took so long?
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Like the other ones that are banging him out? Banging
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: him out? And so is he gonna touch on the retirement?
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Maybe maybe they had to re redo it a little bit, right,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: I mean since since the last one he retired and
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: came back, right, So is he gonna shine insight? Into
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: that is he going to comment on what everybody's saying
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: right now? I mean, it's it's become a tradition with
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: him when he makes these these these documentaries from Tom
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Versus Time. The fifth one didn't come out until like
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: a month later. This one, it's like been six months.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Everybody said it was because they lost the game, right,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: It's like the poor editor on the on the Tom
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Brady production and we have to do another cut, like
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm actually unretiring now. Yeah, I just it's
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: also clunky. And that's just I don't get with Brady.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: Like he the first part of his career, everything was
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: so well managed. He's kind of stayed out of the
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: spotlight as much as he could. He wasn't you know,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: and then you know it kind of became TB twelve
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: and it's just everything is so clunky, Like I can't
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: get over like he just can't seem to get out
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: with grace um And I'm just surprised. Interesting, Wow, interesting.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: I was with him a thousand percent until the last
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: that word Grace. Yeah, Grace, what's the opposite of clunky? Like,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: so I think he's I think he's been clunky. I
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: think every and I think the way you said it,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I thought he I thought he was really image conscious,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: like maniacally so throughout the first part of his career.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: And I love the way you said it that he
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: became TB twelve. It's like people used to say about
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Terrell Owens. He was he was Terrell Owens and and
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: then he made that catch to win that playoff game
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: on the last play the game, and he became t
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: O R from that point on, and he was kind
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: of a different persona. Yeah, and I you know, I
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: think Brady was kind of similar. He was like that,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: the ultimate winner, the ultimate team guy, the ultimate anything,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: you know, team first, and then he kind of became
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: TV twelve and he wanted his guy on the plane,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: his guy to treat the other players, and I'm going
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: to throw the receivers that work out with my guy.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: And yeah he's still great. So he still won, just
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: like TiO was still a great receiver, right even though
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: he kind of left the reservation there for a little while.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Um clunky, I would say, is a good way to
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: put it. Yeah, he can't seem to do anything with Grace,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: like like, I mean, what does he really I mean,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: what has he really done that's lacked grace? Yeah, I
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: would be the only thing I would sort of question, Yeah,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: maybe a weird weird coming out of retirement. It's not
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: necessarily like an ungraceful move. I think this is his
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: last year. I think he kind of set that, Um
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: did I did he on something that was out This
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: is it? That's all he said. Sorry, Brett thinks he's
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: gonna retire after this season for good Yeah, win or lose.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: He had some kind of I was on the plane,
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: so I was just sort of reading all the little
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: I wasn't listening, and they were saying that he you know,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: I believe me. I understand that I'm close to the
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: end and my best football was behind, you know, sort
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: of seem like, yeah, I also think we're gonna notice
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: a little bit of hitch, a little bit yeah, and
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: not like not like not a cliff, not a cliff,
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: not like nah no, no, not nah. It's tough though,
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: because he's had moments where you're like and then all
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: of a sudden, he just clicks back into zerker moment.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: No listen, it's it's in his blood. He knows what
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: to do. I went to do it, but I just
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: I think this is it. It's also like the new
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: match thing that they're starting to promote, and and and
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: I've always believed to be a good quarterback. And what
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: makes Brady so great is that he is annoyingly competitive
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: and and it just it's one of those people motivated
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: just doesn't need anyone to really say you can't do it.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: It's just in his head. He's got people are saying
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: I can't do it. It's just it's it's like a
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: lot like and now he's like talking trash with Josh.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I'm like, just we get it. You're competitive, you want
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: to win like all Like I just I just feel
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: like he's he's also a promoter, so he wants to
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: promote everything, right, And then you gotta go, Okay, all right,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: Tamara's leaving debut, good solid, t go watch the tape.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: Leave him wanting. I started talking Brady and then she
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: laughed on like what did I do? Well? You know,
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: we'll see you next week, Tomara. Um, Matt gave me
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: the quotes that I was talking about for Brady, so
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: I'll just read a couple of He says, I knew
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: my body physically could still do what it could do,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: and obviously I have love for the game. I think
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: I'll always have love for for the game, Brady told ESPN.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: I do think physically I'll be able to do it.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: I just felt like there was still a place for
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: me on the field at the end of the day.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: I just loved the competition on the field, and last
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: year was a very bitter ending to a season, and
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: we've got to make a lot of corrections to try
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: to improve and put ourselves in a better position to
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: succeed moving forward. I know I don't have a lot left.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: This was the part that I was thinking about. I
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: know I don't have a lot left. I really do.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I know I'm at the end of my career. I
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: wish you could go forever, but it's just not in
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: football comes at too high of a cost. Now my
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: kids are getting older, and it's just getting harder and
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: harder to miss these things. But I wanted to give
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: myself and my teammates in our organization another incredible opportunity
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: to accomplish something that we'd all be very proud of.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: That to me, is that's as close as saying this
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: is it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that's what goes against
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: when I suck all quit like, and he feels like
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: he's flirting with it, and I just I would have
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: preferred to see him go out on his terms. And
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I just worry that he's kind of wishy washy right now.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: And that's when I feel like you get hurt, you know, like,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: that's when you get you're just not locked in. Yeah,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like it's when you start
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: thinking about retirement. You you retire. Yeah, yeah, so I
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: guess this episode. Speaking of former Patriots, UH want to
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: remind everyone that the voting is open for the Patriots
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Hall of Fame. The three finalists are Vrabel, Will Fork,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: In Mankins and you can go to Patriots dot com
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: and vote on those and Paul Um. We had a
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: couple of people calling last week. Who do you think
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: that they're both voting for Wilford. You're correct, Yeah, we
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: had one that was a writing though, wasn't it. No,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: that was the call. The others were writing, oh right,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: two writings for will Fork, one call for Vrabel. Yeah.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: But I converted him, Yes, yeah, I converted him. Yeah, good. Yeah. No,
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: I think any of them would be worthy picks. This
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: isn't like one of the ones that I will be
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: ranting about in five years, you know, Kevin fut Light.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: But I do think that we dropped the ball as
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: a committee. I think we didn't put the in my mind,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: the most deserving candidate on the ballot. And I can't
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: even fathom that he wasn't one of the top three.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: And that's west welcome. I don't think, say John Smith,
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I don't understand. I don't understand it. Um. But yeah,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: there'll be no arguing if Mike Rabel is the next inductee,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: or Vince Wilfork Um or Logan Mankins. I think all
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: three of those guys are Patriots Hall of famers. I
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: don't really think there's much discussion that needed to be had,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: you know, for for each of their characteracy. I do
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: think Wilfork will win. UM. I think he's more of
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: a fan favorite, and I think that's what ends up
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: winning these things. I'll see. I mean, i'd be Variable. Yeah,
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: you can't keep doing this, Like I know, I'm I'm
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: on the varie and I think everything that you out
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: of all these three, I think i'd be Mankins. Really,
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: I think everything you love about Wilfork, I feel like
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: Variable has it and has a little more of it,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: and I think Vince. Vince is more of a lovable
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: character and that's why he'll probably get it. Verybel was
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: a little bit rough around the edges, which is what
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I liked about him, but I just did so much
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: he can't. Also think Rabel was more of a factor
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: in the locker room, and I think with Vance, I
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: think that they really had to go out of their
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: way to sort of try to get that out of
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: him toward the end of his career. I think that
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: was a big part of why Bill stuck with him,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: is because he wanted that from him. I think Rabel
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: did it throughout his time here. Mankins, to me, is
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: the best player of the three. Um, which as hard
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: as I mean to to, I mean that says a lot.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: But you talk about the toughness, you know, playing an
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: entire year with a twenty acl moving out to left
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: tackle seamlessly when needed, which he did right in he
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: You know, a lot of people in the organization say
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: unequivocally he's the second best offensive lineman this organization has
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: ever seen. Yeah, behind only John Hannah. Dante said that recently. Yeah, Um,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: who am I game? I was hoping to Marry would
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: stick around so I could introducer to the game, but
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: she's not here. We know how it works. So these
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: are all current or former Patriots. Right. I was named
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: to Football Digest nineteen ninety nine All Tough Guy Team.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Nineteen ninety nine All Tough Guy Team was awarded a
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: game Ball by Bill Belichick for Manning managing to defecate
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: on the sideline of an NFL game without anyone noticing.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Lario was correct, that goes to deuce. No, just yeah,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: they got him a bucket in the really yeah, kind
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: of disgusted, very disgusted. Hbody who has to handle the bucket?
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: The bucket guy? They got a guy. I am a
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: linebacker from Florida who went to two National Championship games.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Brandon Spikes correct, that was my pick. Yeah, that's two.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: I'm over two and I knew them both, which was
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: sp We can do it after the game. I was
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: named to captain during the two thousand and three season
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: during Rodney Harrison Rodney Harrison is correct. Wow, the wording
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: there was crucial. Right. Um. Two more, My hometown is Suffolk, Virginia,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: and I went to William and Mary College. M next one,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: I began my coaching career as a receiver's coach. I
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: mean I did write a feature about him which day,
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: but two months later and finally I'm known to have
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: small hands. I'm always I'm always very positive. I have
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: a sore bath from carrying the show last Tuesday. I
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: missed this because I was reading this state I am
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: Paul Parillo. But what was on the show? Yeah, I
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: don't know. Mike. Yeah, it was good, Mike. That's from
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Mike and San Marcos, Texas. It was good up until
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: that last I missed that. I missed. That's a that's
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: a joke of small hands. Yeah, you have small hands.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Pull Oh, I do have small hands. Yeah, small hand
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: that small? You don't think so, I mean not egregiously
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: so like look at his little baby hands over there,
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: like that Kristen wigg thing, you know. Yeah yeah, um
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: Cole writes in from Eugene, Oregon. No, uh, he says Deebo.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: Samuel is an incredible player, but it's wrong place, wrong
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: time for the Patriots to make that move. Assuming the
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: trade will require a haul somewhere between the Davante Adams
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: and Tyreek Hill trades, I wouldn't give up a first
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: and a second round pick for this player, because I
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: don't think it would make us a championship contender. Chances
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: are there will be another wide receiver available next year.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: If Mac develops well, that might be a better time
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: to invest at that position. Another wide receiver available next
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: year for what, I don't know. I don't know what
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: he means free agency. Maybe he just doesn't think Max
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: ready for I think, like, I don't understand, and I
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: think that's a that's a very sound argument. I yeah,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I know. I think you could say that it's not
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: worth it to go up a first in the second
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: round pick plus a contract. But I think that's, like
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I said, I think that sound. But now you're saying
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: you can get that guy next year. But you're not
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: gonna have to go up like any of that to
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: get a guy next year, right, Like like the wide
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: receiver contracts that people are up in arms about now,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: and they're not going to go the other way, right,
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: So if you think you can get a free agent
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: next year, you're gonna have to pay him a lot.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: And it's funny too, because I think the and I'm
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: guilty of it too, saying oh, well, you get a
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: guy and then you got him for four years, you
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: might only have him for two if he's awesome. And
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: then he pulls the Ebo and he says, hey, I'm
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: also tapping the same things happening with Tennessee with A J. Brown,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: and you see John Robinson our old friend. Yes, Jay
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: rob Um saying that they're not trading him either. Maybe
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: they won't. I know San Francisco said they're not going
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: to trade Debo either, but wouldn't be the first time
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: a GM said. Guy's noting like Andrew Brandt, like I say, translation,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: we're open for business. Translation, you know, give us your
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: your your best offers because someone will do something quote
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: unquote stupid. And I think these guys can be had.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: But to Mike's point, I'm sure that Tennessee said we
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: got our guy for the next several years. They just
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: like Corey last year because A J. Brown is our
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: number one. Now all of a sudden he's gone, you know,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: maybe saying with deep Debo like yeah, it's great to
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: say we got this guy for four years until he's
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: unhappy after two with what he's making or how you're
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: using them, Like Roger from Saint Louis him in a while,
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: here's a game of what do you think is more
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: likely one no rookie quarterbacks start Week one, or a
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: defensive player wins MVP. What's more likely? How likely a
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: defensive player wins MVP? Yeah? Right? A team with a
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: losing record wins a division or an entire division makes
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: the playoffs Vision West, a super Bowl rematch from last year,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: or no division winner from last year repeats super Bowl
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: super Bowl rematch. Uh and continuing and aside from Eric
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: on Tuesday, I really don't think there's a Patriots player
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: besides Mac that you get a first rounder from another
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: team in a trade. I don't know if that means
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: anything deeper, but it could also signal a real lack
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: of talent on the roster. I don't you think you're
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: getting the first from I'm not sure you are. I know, uh,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: you know, maybe after this year you would, Yeah, if
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: he if he has like a step up, But right now,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: this might be a record either on This might be
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: a dumb question. Um, but is it mathematically possible for
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: an entire division to the playoffs? Yes? Yeah, yeah, because
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: they you have the three wild cards on the seven entrance,
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: so I mean, obviously I know that there's slots available.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: But obviously, well, if you play each other, like, dude,
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: think of it this way. If you play each other
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: and they all go three, Yes, if they all go
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: three and three and then they have a winning record
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: in their remaining games, it's possible. I mean they could
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: already got three losses though, right, so they could all
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: go defeated, all undefeated the word. But I'm just saying
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: like it's mathematically possible for them all to go for
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: fourteen and three. Yeah, yeah, okay, that's right. Question, You're right,
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: thank you? Not just saying like from a master is
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: it likely? No? But yeah, okay. Interesting. Let's go to
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: the a sticket hut line eight five five pats five
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: hundred and William and philam, what's up? William? William? I'm sorry,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: just getting my food? I got that people, That's always okay.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: No where are you? Where are you getting the food?
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: Forgetting a cheese cheese steaks? I'm buddy, I'm buddy, No
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: where are you? What? What? What place are you buying from? Now?
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: I'm just crossed the street from my job. I'm at
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Popeye Popeyes? O. What do you? What's your go to Popeye?
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: From Popeyes? Just a number two. They give you a biscuit, right,
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I love it. I love it. I love Popeyes.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: But I heard y'all talk about by stand. Everybody's talking
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: about this guy. No, we ain't gonna hit this, gonna
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: do that. No, he just he just not. But my
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: question is, can we uh do do y'all want to receiat?
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: I mean, okay, don't want to pay for one. Y'all
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: don't want us to rap a first round? So what
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: do we? I mean you don't want one long term?
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: I don't. I don't understand what to be doing. You
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: know I want one in the second round. Yeah, I
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: mean I couldn't. I wouldn't cry if they took one
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: in the first round. Like I just I think that
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: there's other needs that are probably a little bit bigger
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: that might line up. But first two days, I think
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: you gotta get a receiver. Oh do you know what?
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Do y'all know? Where I got y'all one? One? I
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: mean I know probably all y'all want something different. I
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: know who Fred wants well trailing Burks, but I don't
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: know if he's going to be there at he might
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: whatever their second round pick is, well, I'll tell you
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: what he could be there is if you trade it
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: down from the first round. Yeah. Yeah. Christian Watson's another
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: guy that I circled. I mean John Dotson he's another one.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: I mean about background, more guy, more falls guy. He's
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: a George Pickens. I think he's an intriguing guy. Yeah,
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: you're thinking of Khalil Sorry, Sail Shakira Shakira here here,
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: But George Pickens is a guy who is intriguing. Mike
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: is right. He's the guy Freddie towards Aco in the spring,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: came back for the stretch drive in the playoffs for Georgia.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: Really talented guy. Um plays angry. David Bell is another one,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: although he didn't test great, so the numbers aren't there.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: He's slow. Yeah, he's kind of a Patriots type receiver.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: And I don't say that because he's slow, I mean
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: because he's productive. Um. Yeah, So I think there's a
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: lot of different different options. Day two. Yeah, Watson's another one.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: We've talked about a lot. Uh. I just I think
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: there are options. There are options, and I just like
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: the guys with potential, and you know that you can see,
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: all right, this is what they are. But that's I
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: think Pickens is a lot of potential and he got
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: a little bit derailed this year. But you know, any
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: I just I would there's not a single receive were like,
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: I mean, I know Jamison Williams like absolutely, like give
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: me one of those guys. But again, I just think
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: the defense, you can't play too much attention to the offense.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: The defense really needs a lot more than the offense.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: I think no chance whatsoever that they trade up. I
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: would not say never because I wouldn't say never, no, no,
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: because I again to go back to twenty twelve, I
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: think they needed immediate impact guys on the defensive side
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: of the ball. And here's the thing. If you could
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: pick any guy at all in the draft, who would
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: it be? Walker? Really quay Walker, Trayvon Walker from Georgia. Yeah,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: who just you know would do everything I talked about,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: Play everywhere up front, play all three downs. You know,
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: they move them all around, they stand him up, they
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: put him on the inside on passing downs. He'd set
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: the edge. I mean, he's just about sauce the cornerback. Sure,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: I mean he's not far behind. You know, I don't
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: know if there's a guy for me, I don't and
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: I think you guys make good Those are good, good suggestions.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: What do you think of Hutchinson? Yea, yeah, yeah, see
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: I don't like great player. But that's like talk about
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: a guy I don't think like plays the style that
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: they want. I watched him against Michigan in that game,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: and he would in the Ohio State he disappeared. He
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: was like nowhere to be found or which game we're
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: talking about it? Okay, so that was against Georgia. Georgia,
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: he was nowhere to be found. And that's a big time,
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: big time component you're going to be playing against big
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: time about now. So yeah, I don't like this. There's
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: something about a lot of these guys that I can
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: make an argument against. And you know, like like Thibadeau
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: is a guy I really I mean, I'm intrigued by
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: watching when I see like I saw him play against
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: Ohio State and he played really well and you're talking
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: him on the screen like you're listening, and then I've
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: seen him disappear completely and I know the knock on
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: him is doesn't play hard all the time, So like,
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: do you really want to target a guy like that?
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: That's not a shure thing. I don't know. Is that
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: kind of like Chandler Jones. That was the knock on
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: him for a while when he was here. He'd have
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: great stretches and then he'd disappeared for game. He was
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: great in the beginning of the seasons for the Patriots,
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: and then he kind of disappeared at the end for
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: some of those early ones. But yeah, I mean, I
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: but yeah, I mean, how many of these drafts, though
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: he spent all this time talking about, I look back
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: at one and you look at the first round and
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: you're like, there is not really any good players in
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: this day. You know, there's a guy here, a guy there,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: But this is going to be one of those drafts.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: You know. Right now you're you're like, well, this guy
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: and everybody. But at the end of the day, not
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: all these guys are gonna hit. And some of these
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: guys are certainly gonna be. But the good players out
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: of this draft they're gonna be. They're gonna be first rounders,
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: they're gonna be second rounders, they're gonna be third rounders.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: I don't think it's some drafts, it's just all concentrated
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: at the beginning. I don't think it's gonna be like
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: that for this one. I think they're gonna be some
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: missus because I think there's a lot of confusion and uncertainty. Yeah,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: as to how this board falls, how do you stack
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: it vertically and horizonts as well? Yeah, and put the
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: quarterbacks kind embodying that right, like if Pikett and Willis. Now,
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: if I had to pick a quarterback, I would be
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: really bummed out. But Willis would be the guy because
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: I think there's there's some upside there. I don't think
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: he's very good. I gotta be honest with you, but
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: I do think that if if I'm a good coach
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: and I can sort of he has stuff that I
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: can't teach the other guys. Yeah, and the other guy
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: and Pickett's got two gloves and pick forget and non
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: start ups like that would worry me. Reno from Knoxville, Tennessee.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: I really don't understand the undying love for Edelman that
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: people think number eleven should be retired. I always been
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: more of a welker guy myself, but I never wanted
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: his jersey retired. Can you explain to me why any
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: number besides twelve should be retired? Why didn't people freak
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: out when someone wore eighty seven, seventy five, eighty one.
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: I think will Fork just had just as big of
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: an impact on New England as anyone, by the way,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: he deserve there's the Hall more than Vrabel in my
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: opinion and Paul's. I'm okay with fifty six being retired
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: for this organization. Yeah, I mean, Andre, great guy. Sure
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: those guys are retired. I think he's talking about guys
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: from from here on in. So you know, based on
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: what we've seen, twelve is the only one in his mind.
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. My bar is you have to
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: be you have to be a like like one of
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: like the best players of all time at your position
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: for you to get your number retired. Twelve, fifty six,
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: seventy three. Yes, I'm fine with those others. I'm just
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: for all for numbers being back in. Like I think
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: is that's why we have I think it's more a
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: tribute to watch someone new were a number than to
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: just never see that number again. Now Brady is braid
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: that's twelve. Yeah, I'd put everything else back into rotation.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: I mean, I I'd love to see a new fifty six.
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: I think that does more to honor Andre Tippett to
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: see another fifty six out there and talk about him.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: Then well, like you know, you have the whole of again,
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: get it. I getta agree with Mike, because that's what
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: it always happens. Yeah, I mean it's I think it's
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: a very small universe of numbers that should be you know,
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: maybe a year or two reprieve like, oh hey that
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: was great for a little bit for a year, right,
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: But I agree with you, and this is something I
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: think the college game has over the pros. There are
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: different college programs that have special numbers forty four Syracuse,
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: eighteen at LSU, fifty five at US and it's you
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: know Jim Brown, Floyd Little, and you know all all
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: the different guys and you know Junior saying Willie McGinnis.
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: And I think that there becomes a special meaning to
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: the number within that program, and everybody who participates in
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: that program and is a part of it understands it, right,
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: And certainly the fans that follow those programs closely know
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: those numbers. I think that's the way to do it,
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: and I agree with Mike. I think it would be
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: great if you had the opportunity for another like Edge,
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: you know, rushing monster to wear fifty six and be
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: like Andre Tippett. And I think that the pros don't
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: do that as much, and I think that that would
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: That's one thing I think the college game has that.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: I think it's kind of neat the way they do that. Well,
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: there's a lot of them that you don't even knowledge
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: that they'll have a hundred people on the team at
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: one time, So they kind of need the numbers, right,
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: they can't really afford to retire a lot of jerseys. Well,
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: they also they also have double numbers, right, but like
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: they have the thing at LSU where they have the
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: famous walk on is number twelve, the twelfth Man, and
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: that means something to that program. It's an honor to
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: wear that number. Must mean something to the player too.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's an honor. Yeah, it's like talking about
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: who's fifty Vabel, you know, to see Nikovich then have
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: some success in that. The Patriots made a mistake early
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: on in their existence is starting to retire numbers before
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: anyone was really worthy. And now they're stuck. They should
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: just have a seven. Stuck. You have a ceremony, and
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell these guys, we're on retiring your numbers. Ye,
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: but you painted as the angle of we're gonna have
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: a ceremony rehonoring you, and we're gonna put these numbers
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: back as a way and maybe do what the what
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: you know what ring of honor that kind of Yeah,
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: you know, put then you have them up. You have
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: a Hall of fame, but have fame. That's that's I mean,
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: like it's better than a ring of honor. You have
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: an entire building dedicated to the greatness of those players. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: maybe when next time they do in New Jersey, that
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: could be, you know, a good opportunity to reintroduce some
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: of those numbers. I'd like a ceremony where they actually
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: hand it off its entire who's getting I'm giving giving
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: you the shirt off my back. So so, knowing that
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: they have a Hall of Fame and they have retired numbers,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: do you believe that whatever they do for Brady has
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: to be different than that? I mean, I think twelve
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: twelve is I would get on board with that one.
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: Just being untouchable. I mean, the guys the greatest, but
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: they have other numbers that are untouchable. So he's now
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: in the category with any number of guys who don't
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: have that many super He's got his own. He's got
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: his own. So what I'm saying is you need to
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: do something to differentiate Brady from everybody else. Put everybody
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: else's back in circulation and then just take that. That's
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: what makes it different. You could do that, right, and
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: there's only one number that's retired and that's it. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: And unless you rise to his level in the future,
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: you don't get your number of retired. Are they gonna
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: have to like red the hall for him? They'll probably
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: have ably the Brady Room. Yeah, So I don't know, Uh,
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: other people will worry about that. Uh. Connor a cousin,
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: Patty and agawam my eyes. Fair warning to all of
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: you guys. This public service message. I'm in. I'm the
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: refrigeration technician for PEPSI out in Hartford. One of my
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: primary jobs is cleaning ice machines. That's actually what I'm
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: currently doing. Never ever, ever ever get ice from an
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: ice machine. What kind of ice machines, like one of
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: those you know machines. I'm just like those different kind
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: of ice machines, are you I don't really you mean
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: like at a like at a fast food place or
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: a restaurant, whether you have like okay, all right, yeah,
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: I was just I was just like thinking like something
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: like we have a machine here at the stadium that
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: the ice is never there. Um. But I was trying
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: to think, like where would you get your own ice machines?
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: Like are you saying, like on at a restaurant when
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: you go out, you shouldn't get ice. I think he
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: means like a like a McDonald's or a Panera or
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: you know, one of those places where you have the
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: vending machines self serve kind of machines and you found Yeah, yeah,
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: I don't really do that, um very much. Isn't that
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: where you get the shaved ice though? Isn't it normally
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: what they have? Isn't that kind of like my refrigeent
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: rater at home is where I get my crushed ice?
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: Oh you have a crushed ice? Oh? Really? Because I
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: just make the blocks in the you don't crush I
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: don't have one of those refrigerators like hau block out.
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: When it's like the old right, I guess from the
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: ground Providence. This guy's walking very quick. It's hot. The
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: guy comes in with the you know the big right
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: Eric Chips, some off, um Mike and Maryland. Right, San Fred,
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: I was a little disappointed that a lacrosse enthusiast like
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: yourself didn't bring up the best or most iconic lacrosse
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: athletes a few shows back. Um, so Brown would be
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: one of them. Right well, he says, Let's compare Fred's
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: choices to the other esteem hosts and run through. Um
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: he has most icon of college player. I mean you
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: mentioned Jim Brown, you know, I mean Gary Gate gave
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: another guy, you know, yeah, remember the brothers, the Powell brothers.
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: I mean yeah, I mean so out now, Yeah, that's it. Yeah,
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: the brothers and that's all. Yeah, I mean but Jim Brown,
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: they had to change the rules, put it over his
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: chest everybody. Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know technically if
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: he was like the greatest, you know Gate, I mean
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: those that whole family has done amazing things. This is
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: the players now. Every year of the like new kids
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: that come up and they just seem to get better
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: and better. Oh no, there's this kid, um, oh what's
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: his name? He probably this this person from Maryland's writing
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: in I think he played at Maryland. Um Soldenburger or
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: something like that. He was a great player and now
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: he's going to try out for the NFL. Oh really, yeah,
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: thats what position. I think wide receivers that good an
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: athlete really, Okay, So I don't I would forget about
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: Deebo Samuel that that's that's the guy we got to
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: look out for, right, I think it's Soldenberg or something
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: like that. Question for the uh Shellenberg. I don't know
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: the lacrosse expert on the panel here today? Why is
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: it the mid Atlantic States are known so much for lacrosse? Yeah,
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: it's a great and Long Island, it's a great question. Um, well,
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: long Island, long Pole. That makes a little sense, right, No,
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: But yeah, I guess for whatever reason, you know, John
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: Hopkins and all those schools right down there, that's kind
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: of the cradle of lacrosse in America, in the United
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: so to speak, in the United But I wonder why,
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: how did it? How did it develop? I don't know,
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: it always was, and that's it feels like it's a
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: lot more popular now because I mean, I know for
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: me growing up, you know, around the corner in Holliston,
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: like they didn't have lacrosse at my high school when
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: I was there, and then when I went to prep school,
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: I was like, I really want to try it. But
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: now they have it. I mean it's across everywhere. Yeah,
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: it was very It was always popular at the prep schools. Oh,
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: they always had. But I don't get it's why, because
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: it's definitely like a rich, rich man's sport. Like that's
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: how it sort of developed, and that's what it's the
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: the England prep schools and that mid Atlantic order, yeah,
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: which is obviously very affluent there or yeah, but why
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: yeah that was always in Long Island. Long Island another
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: affluent area. Yeah, for the most part. And then you know,
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: you could make a for Northern New York, like Upper
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: State New York has always been a hotbed for lacrosse
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: as well. And you can say, well, that's because they're
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: close to Candidas where Hobart is Hobart, all the Cornell
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: and all those schools. It was a Canadian sport originally, right,
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: It's it's their net. Everyone thinks hockey is the national sport.
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: They have two Lacrosse is there other way? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: it's funny than there's also like box lacrosse, which I
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: think was like, oh, that's a whole different it's a
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: whole different thing. But players love playing box lacrosse. Well
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: Adam Adam oates famous Bruins center. Um, but yeah, he
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: was a big center. Sounds like Paul picked up a
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: little of covid down smoke us cough. Can a guy
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: get a light, he's getting a cuban. It's gonna be
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: talking out of his throat soon. Oh that's not that's awful.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: I know. But you know, don't smoke. He doesn't. You know.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: I was on a plane, on the Jeff Blue plane.
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: I'm amazed that they still build the planes with ashtrays
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: and yet they cover them in no small king. I'm like,
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: why do you just and they still have the light
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: that says no smoking. I think we're all this point.
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: I think we all know. It's like Paul in the cap.
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: I think we're all adults here. We know we're not
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: smoking on a plane anymore. We don't. But why are
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: you putting the ash trays too? Just in case? It's
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: like driving flight like light everybody's light out time. They
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: don't have to sign somebody like okay, why smoking? Maybe
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: I got him know that's you're not you're not smoking
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: these days are never smoked the day in my life.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: Not even a puff, all right, you know that, I know,
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: I know. So I did have an interesting story. Oh okay,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: story time with I'm soaking it up in the hot
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: tub with my soul mate. Um. One of the first
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: it was like Sunday night. We are getting black um stokes.
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: So we're hanging out. It's kind of late, just kids
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: are all running the market. It was. It was great,
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: great time. So I'm We're in the hot top and
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: this guy is there, huge super Bowl ring on his hand.
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: Now it was one of ours. No, it wasn't. No, Um,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: it wasn't. It was clearly not a player. He was
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: an older guy, you know, so it was clearly a
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: situation like us. Yeah, you know, just someone who works
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: for a team. So I looked and I was like, hey,
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: is that a championship ring. He goes, yeah, it's a
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: super Bowl ring. And I said, oh wow, it's pretty cool. Yeah,
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: he had it in the hot hands. I was like, wait,
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: I got a bunch of them. So and you know
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: that I never I never do. Yeah, that's part of
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: the that's a good part of the story. So he's like, yeah,
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: he goes, it's a Super Bowl ring and I said, oh,
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: that's really cool. I go, I have six of them,
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: and he goes, so do I He worked for Pittsburgh
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: and I just gave it. That's awesome. Wow, Beth is
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: just cracking up. He was an accountant for Pittsburgh. He
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: retired like two years ago. Wow, that is that's a
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: great story. But he was. He was really good, really
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: nice guy. He goes, yeah, he goes, I just decided
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: to put it on today. And I'm thinking to myself,
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: I've never had any of them on ever, you know,
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: for any reason, like other than just to show people, right,
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: And I couldn't even imagine that he had it on
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: in a hot tub. I know, right, I think ours
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: are nicer. I mean, yeah, I kind of think that.
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: But he was. He clearly was working there in the
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: seventies obviously. Was he a single guy? Was he putting
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: out the vibe? Maybe that was? Yeah, opener, Yeah, Well
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: the only thing I have, um let's see Nate is
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: in Northeast Pennsylvania. Wonderful offseason discussions so far. Thanks for
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: the content. I've been listening for about five years now,
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: and when I was new to the show, I distinctly
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: remember someone calling in saying that your best shows come
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: in the off season. At the time, I found that
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: hard to believe, considering I was turning in to hear
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: all things Patriots. But that caller was right. Some of
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: the most memorable stuff from you guys comes in the
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: off season. So forget about that weirdo last week who
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: was all pissy about non Patriots talk. People have really
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: rallied to our defense. That's what they had a problem with.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: A non killed us. Yeah, you guys stank'd you'd be
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: working at Jimmy Lube if you want, you know, if
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: you didn't work if if we so, if we didn't
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: get the jobs that we got, right, Yeah, it was
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: somebody who's never that's great, that's a great comeback. It
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: was somebody who's never written in the show. But I
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: don't remember recognize the name at all. I might have recognized,
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: but it's all right, I don't I don't care. He said,
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: I wouldn't read it. I read a podcast. You'd be
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: working at Jiffy Lube, right, But that that implies that
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: we're not talented enough to have a podcast. The team
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: that has won six Super Bowls can hire anybody they want.
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: To do this podcast, and they chose Fred. So I
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: don't think that Fred would be working at Jiffy Lube
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: if he didn't do this. That's how I separated myself. Yes,
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: maybe Speedy Lube. I don't know. If I did Jiffy Lube,
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: I would try to be really honest about it, because
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: I've gotten hosed at Jiffy Lube a couple of times. Yeah,
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: I just say, I'm not going to try to tell
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: you that you're connectic zoint needs to be fixed for
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: one hundred dollars. Oh yeah, you know, let's charge it.
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: Or they forget to screw things back. They forgot to
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: screw something back, and then you got to come back in.
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: And that I've heard they do a lot, really because
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: I used to go there a little bit and I
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: won't anymore because of that. I heard that they intentionally
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: do something when they're changing your oil. If you're just
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: going for then you have to go back. That's happened
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: to me, not at Jiffy Loube, but it just mechanics
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: in general. I've had that happened so many times, like
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: a week later, I have to go back for I
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: just hate dishonesty in general. You know, like just treat us.
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: You know, I think in life, if you find a
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: mechanic that you trust, yeah, like it is worth its weight. Absolutely.
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: You are just in a contract. You gotta have a Mac. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: a Mac and a front with truck too. So just
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: out of curiosity and about um, what was some of
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: the what were you guys talking about? You want to
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: hear him now we were talking. We're talking about a
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: lot of grammar and a lot of different other sports. Yeah.
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: So I was involved in one of the grammar days. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: I take pride in that. No, no, but it was
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: one of these hardos that it's like you must talk
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: team and football twenty four seven all the time, talk Patriots.
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: It's not like we didn't tin it was day when
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: there's nothing. I threw it out. What are you? What
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: are you binging? Yeah? What we're talking about? So people
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: were calling in about what they're watching, and you know,
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: he took offense at that, because you know, I think
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: he took more offense Paul at the fact that we
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: never read any of his emails and that we always
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: read other people's emails. And you know, if you write
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: it in a good email, I get read fifty emails here.
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: I'm not going to get to them all. Sorry, So
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: you're gonna get forty five negative emails next show, right?
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: Um uh? Continuing with Nate's email, because so far it's
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: so good. Speaking of that, you mentioned in your response
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: to that guy that you've been doing this show for
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: twenty two years. Perhaps a good offseason topic a little
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: history of Patriots Unfiltered. This may come off as a
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: dumb question, but how did you broadcast this radio show before?
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Patriots dot com slash podcast apps would love to hear
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: more PU history. And lastly, a few grammar word pet piece.
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: One burnt toast verse burned toast. In my opinion, burnt
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: with a T, which is recognized as a word, is
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: just the slang ain't version of the word burned, So
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: burnt is slang in his opinion? In his opinion, yeah,
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: I don't, but I don't think I think that's an
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: acceptable form of the word. Burnt toast seems like a
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: state of the toast, where burnt toast means Kanye you
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: did it, like I don't. Yeah, yeah, he didn't burnt him,
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: but after he got burnt, he was burned off. Might
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: it might be? But but you could also say he
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: was burned. Your one could be an adjective, and one's
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: the you know, verb tense. I don't know. That's a
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: good one though, that's dangles dans and his other one
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: is corporate over usage of the word leverage. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: we're leveraging our plus up, I'm over leveraged. Bonus. Fun fact.
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: Did you know slang is slang for shortened language? No?
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: I did not. I did not know that. Very good.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: That's an excellent Yeah, I didn't know that either. Shortened language. Funny,
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: I like it. Oh. There was another sharp term on
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: the radio this morning when a ref w yes, when
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: a ref has influenced on the game going in, you know,
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: like because of his style, or that's a wrangle, a
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: referee angle to the game, A wrangle has a referee.
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna yeah, any wrangles And they said in both
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: Celtics games, I would say the wrangle is a very
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: I mean, people can correct me that that are into
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: uh betting a lot more than I am. But I
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: would say the wrangle is not really real. I think
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: that's something that coincidental. No, I'm saying it's people that
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: get beat and they blame it on you know what
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: I'm saying. But there was an excuse. Yeah, I don't
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: want it's an excuse for losing. We already taught Celtics.
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: But Ian is in more of a predicament. He says,
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: I am literally on the way to Jiffy lou right now.
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: He says, he's turning around. It's just amazing. No matter
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: what we bring up, somebody knows it or is doing
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: it or has done it. You know, well I I
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: you know, if you need your oil change, you got
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: to get your oil change. I mean it's a great
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: business idea. Everybody is such a pain in the butt
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: thing to get your car's oil change. It's great to
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: prolong the life of the car. And they but I
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: like my small town guy who my neighbor. My neighbor
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: owns his own UH garage and it's very you know,
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: he's done very well for himself with it. And I
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: if I have something little like that, then I need
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: done on the quick. He's right down the street. He
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: takes here of me all the time. It's you're driving
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: a SOB. I am two hundred and thirty four thousand
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: miles right, Yeah, a commercial. They should retire York car
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: put in the Hall of Fame. There are some sobs
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: that have that have gone like, uh because the mechanic
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: at the old dealership, uh, that no longer exists. He
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: would take a lot of the old ones and tinker
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: with them and fix them up and keep him going.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: His record was like five hundred thousand miles. I think,
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: on wow, that's quite a SOB story. Oh but that
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: was good. I like that. Eric can't do anything, but sir,
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: well done to you, sir. Yeah, thirty four. With the
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: miles I'm putting on my car, I'll get up there.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: I'm putting like over thirty thousand a year. Now, what
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: are you driving, Lexus Ux? Do you like it? Yeah?
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: It's a hybrid so at least. But my next guy,
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: I think, is gonna be an electric truck, electric pick up.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: If I can figure out how to pay what what bank,
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna rob to get it. But you should have
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: seen the gas prices. Oh, what's like seven eight dollars?
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: Six at least six? Ye everywhere that's crazy. They're going
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: down a little bit. Yeah, it was under four. Question
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: for the guys who weren't here there, have you ever
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: heard it? Maybe you were here, but I think you're
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: already gone. A vocal fry is that what it was called?
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: You've never heard a vocal fry from la. I'm surprised.
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: You don't know what else. I don't know what it
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: was either. And they were everyone who was jumping down
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: my throat, you know, people at the end, like, you know,
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: my name is Mary and that's that's a vocal fry. Yeah,
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: I hate it. I hate it. It's like one of
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: the worst effects. You know, dogs that would be an
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: example of it. Yes, so your voice is like two
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: weak to actually, yeah, like at the end you just trail,
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: you know. And the Kardashians were famous for it and
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: somebody who but somebody said they sing and ask everything
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: like a question. Yeah. They up talk as well, which
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: it's called up talking. I hate that, but some of
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: the worst developments in history. Yeah, the up the up talking.
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: I cannot take anybody seriously that talks like I know
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: and everybody talks like so, I'm gonna be going to
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: New York. There lives Mike to Lemmo. Are you asking
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: me if you're going to New York? Are you going
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: to New York? I think I'm asking I'm going to
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: New York. Yeah, it's not becoming. It's not becoming unbecoming.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: I just want to be becoming. You want to become
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: my goal. You want to becoming all the good thing.
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: Next Tuesday. I had a couple today that I had
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: in minds, and I said, probably about the right time.
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: We'll have to work her in and get her dec
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: in size. Based on her reaction to the accent of yeah,
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: good luck, I'm telling you, there was a look of
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: fear on her face, and it's like, I want to
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: alleviate that fear. I get it, you're right, but she
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: it's obvious she had brushed up on a little draft stuff.
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: I told her to get ready. Yeah, oh it is
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: a week away. Yeah, she's, she's, she's she's smart. Cookie.
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: It's hard. I always had so much respect from Megan,
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: just because she didn't grow up around here, and she
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: has to go toe to tell with a bunch of idiots.
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: So you can say the ninety two Patriots and you
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: know exactly what you're talking about, and somebody she's a
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: little off too, in a good way. Oh yeah, mean
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: three oh six, yea impressive. I know she was disappointed
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: because she wanted to break three. But that marathon, Yeah
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: she ran in Boston. Yeah, oh I didn't know that. Yeah,
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: three or six? No, I just don't go on social media.
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: I just thought she was ducking me because I went
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: to Orlando when she left the Orlando to come to Boston.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: So I think it was pretty obvious. I want to
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: get yelled at by me anymore. Justin and Alabama, welcome back,
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: Mike and Paul. I agree, let's bring back the retired jerseys.
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: It would be an honor for the player to wear
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: numbers like fifty six and seventy three, but let's leave
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: twelve retired. What do we do with sweatshirts with cut
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: off sleeves? Do we let future coaches wear classic sweatshirt?
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: Look of the greatest coach of all time? Have to
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: worry about that? Yeah, put your sleeves back on. And
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: by the way, my last name is England, but I
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: am from Alabama, but been a Patriots fan a long time.
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: Because I said, it is it Justine or just In England?
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: So it's just In England from Alabama, from Alabama, England,
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: and take a cup. If I could talk, We'll take
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: a couple of quick calls. Get him off because we're
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: coming up to the end. We'll start with you guys.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: But Seawan in New Jersey. What's up with Sean? But
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Sean still there? Oh that's a shame. He was on
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: me hanging out for like half an hour. Eldred's in
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: North Carolina. Hey, Eldred, Eldred name of the day. Well,
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: already had quite a day today, about eleven. We had
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: about four of those, right, yeah, yeah, all right, Well listen.
