- 0:24Well, hello everyone, it is John C.
- 0:26Morley here, serial entrepreneur.
- 0:28It's great to be with you.
- 0:29It is a Monday.
- 0:31This is Memorial Day and a little bit
- 0:34different than Veterans Day for those of you
- 0:35that might be confused.
- 0:36So Veterans Day is the day we celebrate
- 0:39people that went to war for our country
- 0:43and they came back.
- 0:45They may have some bruises.
- 0:46They may have some lost limbs or legs,
- 0:50et cetera, arms, but they're alive.
- 0:52And so that's what Veterans Day is.
- 0:53Memorial Day is a little bit different.
- 0:55It's a time when we mourn those that
- 0:59unfortunately didn't make it back alive.
- 1:02All those men and women that went out
- 1:04there and didn't come home to their loved
- 1:07ones.
- 1:08And I was hearing a very interesting speech
- 1:10today from a gentleman who was in the
- 1:14service and he said that 1% of
- 1:18our nation is in the military.
- 1:22And that was interesting, at least that's what
- 1:24it was back then.
- 1:25So again, just a moment, we're not gonna
- 1:27basically have silence, we can't do that on
- 1:29the air, but really let's just think and
- 1:33let's be grateful for all the things that
- 1:35the men and women have done for us
- 1:37before and that they're doing for us today
- 1:38so we continue to have our freedom.
- 1:41All right, guys, this is Inspirations for Your
- 1:42Life, if you didn't know that.
- 1:43Again, it is May 25th, 2026.
- 1:47I'm gonna say the words happy Memorial Day,
- 1:49but really, it's not really a happy time.
- 1:52It's a mourning time.
- 1:54So that's the truth about it.
- 1:55We use it to kick off summer, but
- 1:57that's kind of the marketing, but it's really
- 2:00a sad time.
- 2:01If you guys are thirsty, feel free to
- 2:03go get yourself an RO water like I

- 2:5110, 100 or more, I'd like to take
- 2:53the opportunity to say welcome, thank you.
- 2:57But mainly, I wanna say welcome back.
- 2:59Thank you so much for being here, really
- 3:01do appreciate that.
- 3:02Let's dive into the show, shall we?
- 3:04We have an amazing master topic.
- 3:05We always have great master topics.
- 3:06So, ladies and gentlemen, what if the reason
- 3:10you are not getting the results you want
- 3:12has nothing to do with your effort?
- 3:15You heard me, I said, has nothing to
- 3:18do with your effort, your intelligence, or even
- 3:21your timing?
- 3:22What are you talking about, John?
- 3:24Everything to do with the signal you are
- 3:28sending every single day.
- 3:30John, what are you talking about?
- 3:31We'll get into it.
- 3:32Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Inspirations for Your
- 3:34Life.
- 3:35Who am I?
- 3:36I'm John C.
- 3:36Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 3:40podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student, passionate
- 3:44lifelong learner, and a graduate grateful published author.
- 3:49Today, friends, we're diving into something that is
- 3:52quietly shaping every interaction you have and will
- 3:56have, every opportunity that comes your way, and
- 3:58every decision people make about you before you
- 4:01even say one word from your lips.
- 4:03This is, yes, season or series five, show
- 4:0722, episode three, and it's all about understanding
- 4:11the signal, okay, understanding the signal.
- 4:15And if you were not here when we
- 4:17started the master topic off, I thought I
- 4:19would share with you what that is, because
- 4:21I think that's important to, you know, to,
- 4:24you know, basically to get into what that
- 4:26is.
- 4:27And that is belonging drives action.
- 4:31Whether you realize it or not, you are
- 4:35always signaling.
- 4:37Yeah.
- 4:39Your presence signals, your tone signals, your consistency
- 4:44signals, your clarity or lack of clarity signals.
- 4:48People do not respond to what you mean.
- 4:51They respond to what you show.
- 4:53They read your signal before they ever process
- 4:56your words.
- 4:58It's subconscious.
- 5:00If your results are off, if people are
- 5:03confused, if opportunities are not aligning, the issue
- 5:07may not be the effort.
- 5:09The issue may be your signal.
- 5:12So I have some insights to help you
- 5:14sharpen or tweak that signal.
- 5:16Number one, people notice what you signal before
- 5:20anything else.
- 5:23Before you even open your mouth, there is
- 5:26a signal.
- 5:27I think that's pretty cool, guys.
- 5:30Pretty cool.
- 5:31Number two, clear signals attract clear responses and
- 5:36faster decisions.
- 5:39Number three, what you emphasize gets repeated by
- 5:43others.
- 5:45So be careful what you repeat and what
- 5:47you stay harping on.
- 5:49Number four, strong signals cut through even the
- 5:52loudest noise.
- 5:53You know, guys, you don't have to be
- 5:55loud to be successful, but what you do
- 5:57need to do is be intentional.
- 6:00And you need to know what it is
- 6:02you want so you can broadcast it.
- 6:06Number five, the message should be obvious without
- 6:10explanation.
- 6:11It should be really simple.
- 6:14Number six, guys, people read cues before they
- 6:17read words.
- 6:19This is true about movies.
- 6:20It's true about people.
- 6:22People even read a book before they read
- 6:24it, right?
- 6:24They read the cover.
- 6:25We always say, don't judge a book by
- 6:26its cover.
- 6:26But how many people you know that actually
- 6:28judge the book by its cover?
- 6:30A lot of people, guys.
- 6:32A lot of people judge the book by
- 6:33its cover.
- 6:34And you know what?
- 6:35That might be a big problem because they
- 6:37decide, oh, I don't want to read that
- 6:39because of the way it looks.
- 6:40But that might be a great book.
- 6:41Number seven, guys, your signal shapes who shows
- 6:44up in your life.
- 6:48So there's more power in you and things
- 6:56you don't say, but how you be.
- 7:03I think that's an important one to actually
- 7:06understand.
- 7:07Number eight, guys, confusing signals always create confusion
- 7:12in return.
- 7:15They create confusion in return.
- 7:18Consistency is one of the strongest signals you
- 7:24can send.
- 7:27Number 10, tone always sends a message, whether
- 7:32you intend it or not.
- 7:34The way you present matters just as much
- 7:37as what you say.
- 7:45That's important, guys.
- 7:47That is very, very important for us to
- 7:49be aware and for us to know about,
- 7:52how we understand those things.
- 7:54I think that's a really clear thing.
- 7:57Every detail communicates something about you.
- 8:00Every detail.
- 8:01Number 13, clear signals save time, energy, and
- 8:07missed opportunities.
- 8:10Number 14, people trust what feels aligned and
- 8:15consistent.
- 8:18Number 15, ambiguity weakens interest and slows momentum.
- 8:23When people don't understand something, they get confused.
- 8:29They decide to back out.
- 8:33They change their mind on things because it's
- 8:36not clear.
- 8:37People want things to be clear in their
- 8:40lives.
- 8:41They don't want to be confused.
- 8:42They want things that are transparent.
- 8:45Number 16, guys, the strongest signal you can
- 8:48ever send is this, clarity.
- 8:53Clarity is something that, when we get clarity,
- 8:58our world changes.
- 9:00Our world changes because we now understand the
- 9:06signal.
- 9:13That's important, guys.
- 9:19It helps you get where you want to
- 9:22be.
- 9:30That's important, guys, to know that.
- 9:34That's important to know what that is.
- 9:39Number 17, what you lead with is what
- 9:45people remember most.
- 9:48So if something is changing how you act,
- 9:52pay attention to that.
- 9:54Pay attention to that.
- 9:56Because if you pay attention to that, your
- 9:58life is going to change.
- 10:01And I mean immensely, guys.
- 10:03I don't just mean like one thing.
- 10:06I mean a lot of your life is
- 10:08going to reshape itself, to remold itself.
- 10:14But the crux of the matter, ladies and
- 10:16gentlemen, is this.
- 10:19You have to show up.
- 10:21You have to be present.
- 10:25You have to be present.
- 10:27And if you're not present, guys, your life
- 10:30is going to be unfulfilled.
- 10:39That's pretty cool, right?
- 10:42Very cool.
- 10:46And I will tell you something.
- 10:48It's about who you're with.
- 10:51It's about your thoughts inside, okay?
- 10:54It's about your thoughts inside.
- 11:00And your thoughts inside matter more than anything.
- 11:03Number 18, guys, a good signal reduces hesitation
- 11:07and builds confidence.
- 11:09But yet some people, they get taken off
- 11:13their track or derailed.
- 11:16Sometimes temporarily.
- 11:17Sometimes permanently.
- 11:18Because they lose sight of what they want.
- 11:23They lose the thought of gratitude.
- 11:30And when we lose that thought, it's like
- 11:33we lose our way.
- 11:38And you might say, well, John, I can
- 11:39always find my way back.
- 11:40Yes, you can.
- 11:41But it will be very hard.
- 11:43And it will be expensive.
- 11:45Not just in the costs of money.
- 11:48But your time.
- 11:49Your resources.
- 11:51Your frustrations.
- 11:53I think that's the biggest thing I want
- 11:56to hammer home today.
- 11:58Is that your signal doesn't have to be
- 12:02something that is, you know, perfect.
- 12:06But it needs to be clear.
- 12:10It needs to come from your core values.
- 12:14When it comes from your core values, your
- 12:16integrity starts to shine, guys.
- 12:19It starts to shine.
- 12:21And when you notice these changes, like, oh,
- 12:23my gosh, I can't believe what I'm doing.
- 12:25People are like, wow, you're doing quite a
- 12:28bit.
- 12:29Yeah.
- 12:32I think when we focus for a moment
- 12:35on understanding this concept that I started about,
- 12:39I started talking about, you know, in the
- 12:41beginning of the show.
- 12:41And that's what the master topic is, ladies
- 12:44and gentlemen, for this entire week of Inspirations
- 12:47for Your Life.
- 12:48And that is this.
- 12:51Belonging drives action.
- 12:53When you feel belonging to a situation, environment,
- 12:57people, group, you want to act.
- 12:59You want to be part of it.
- 13:02Because when you contribute something, you kind of
- 13:07take a little piece of it away with
- 13:08you.
- 13:09You take away the pride.
- 13:12You take away that feeling of gratitude.
- 13:16That feeling of, oh, yeah, I did it.
- 13:19It's not to say that you are better
- 13:22than anybody.
- 13:23But everyone deserves to be recognized.
- 13:25Everybody deserves to be recognized.
- 13:29That's important, guys.
- 13:33That is so important to be recognized.
- 13:35But it comes when we do things from
- 13:38our integrity.
- 13:42Our integrity is what causes this to happen.
- 13:46And when you know what integrity is all
- 13:49about, I know that you will say, oh,
- 13:53my gosh.
- 13:54Oh, my gosh.
- 13:55Like this makes sense in my life.
- 14:00This resonates with me.
- 14:03This resonates with me.
- 14:05And when it resonates with you, you're like,
- 14:07oh, my gosh.
- 14:08Like something clicked.
- 14:10I just had an epiphany moment.
- 14:12I had an epiphany moment.
- 14:13And that epiphany moment just got me to
- 14:16say, wow.
- 14:19Wow.
- 14:21That's like incredible, guys, when we can say
- 14:25wow.
- 14:26But it's not a wow that's loud.
- 14:30It's a wow that internally empowers us.
- 14:40Being grateful for things, guys, is a big
- 14:44gift in life.
- 14:46Getting up every morning and saying thank you
- 14:48to God and my creator, the Lord, is
- 14:51something I used to never do many years
- 14:53ago.
- 14:54But that's the first thing I do when
- 14:55I get up.
- 14:55And if I forget, I'm like, oh, my
- 14:56gosh.
- 14:57Thank you, God.
- 14:58Thank you, Lord.
- 14:58Thank you for another great day.
- 15:01There are people older and people younger than
- 15:03me that are not here anymore.
- 15:07God wants me to be here for a
- 15:08reason.
- 15:09God wants you to be here for a
- 15:10reason.
- 15:10Take a moment to say thank you to
- 15:13him.
- 15:14Thank you.
- 15:15You're grateful to be alive.
- 15:18And you're going to find that more blessings
- 15:21start to appear in your life.
- 15:24Now, when you do this, you open up
- 15:27to a certain signal.
- 15:31A certain signal.
- 15:32A signal that says, hey, this really matters
- 15:36to me.
- 15:38I think that's a very important thing, guys.
- 15:42When you can say, guys, this matters to
- 15:46me, then you now know that you're in
- 15:52alignment with it.
- 15:54Okay?
- 15:55You're in alignment with this.
- 15:57And when you're in alignment with something, oh,
- 15:59my gosh, guys.
- 16:00That's like, that's incredible.
- 16:05All right?
- 16:06That's absolutely, absolutely incredible.
- 16:10And I say that to you because things
- 16:15that connect with us a certain way allow
- 16:20us to make differences in our lives.
- 16:24Now, this doesn't happen again overnight.
- 16:26It happens when we can be connected with
- 16:32who we are.
- 16:34Who we are.
- 16:39Think about that for a moment.
- 16:47What does that mean to you?
- 16:49Just think about that for a moment.
- 16:50Number 19.
- 16:52Repetition strengthens your signal over time.
- 16:58The signal gets stronger.
- 17:00The signal gets more valuable.
- 17:02The signal not only gets stronger, but it
- 17:05becomes clearer to you as the sender.
- 17:10And, guys, you know who else?
- 17:12The recipient.
- 17:13The receiver.
- 17:16I think that's something that probably will blow
- 17:19you away.
- 17:24That'll blow you away.
- 17:28Because it's so real.
- 17:33It will blow you away.
- 17:40And maybe you haven't taken a moment to
- 17:42do this, but I can tell you that
- 17:48when you do this, your life changes.
- 17:52Just taking time to say thank you is
- 17:56huge, guys.
- 17:57It's absolutely huge.
- 18:01So very huge.
- 18:05That's key, guys.
- 18:08That's key.
- 18:11And if you know that that's key, you're
- 18:15like, oh, wait a minute.
- 18:15I actually get this.
- 18:17I now understand why this was hard before.
- 18:21Number 20, guys.
- 18:22People follow what feels defined and certain.
- 18:28Doesn't have to be perfect.
- 18:30But when people get into this pattern, it's
- 18:34like, oh, my gosh.
- 18:37They suddenly just realize that it's changing.
- 18:42It's changed.
- 18:43Okay?
- 18:45It's changed.
- 18:47And that change, I think, is huge.
- 18:52That change is huge.
- 18:54And I say it's huge to you because
- 18:57it matters.
- 19:01It matters.
- 19:03Because you matter.
- 19:06Number 21, guys.
- 19:07The right signal filters in the right audience
- 19:10naturally.
- 19:11So when you're giving the right message, it's
- 19:14going to flow to the right audience eventually.
- 19:17So if you get a few stragglers, hey,
- 19:19don't worry about that.
- 19:21Let the message get to where it's got
- 19:23to be at.
- 19:27That's the message I have for you.
- 19:30Refine your message.
- 19:32Keep it clear.
- 19:34Make the message about others.
- 19:39Get them excited about things.
- 19:43Become creative and become genuinely interested in them,
- 19:48as Dale Carnegie once said.
- 19:51Ladies and gentlemen, number 22, silence can send
- 19:53a message just as strong as words.
- 19:58Right?
- 19:58When you're silent, people pay a lot of
- 20:00attention to that silence, like, oh, wow.
- 20:11Oh, wow.
- 20:13Oh, my gosh.
- 20:15That change, guys, is so unbelievable.
- 20:18Unbelievable.
- 20:22But this is where I call it a
- 20:24realization.
- 20:26Because you may not realize this overnight.
- 20:32But you will come to appreciate and gain
- 20:38insights into this over time.
- 20:43Number 23, guys.
- 20:45Make your point unmistakable and easy to grasp.
- 20:49Don't try to put it into a million
- 20:51different vocabulary words that nobody understands.
- 20:55Speak in the words you use every day.
- 20:58If those are words you use, great.
- 21:00Don't try to use words to impress somebody.
- 21:03Use the words that are natural to you.
- 21:06Number 24, people respond to certainty and direction.
- 21:12Whether you've been a leader or you're new
- 21:13to being a leader, I can tell you
- 21:15this.
- 21:18People follow those that know what they're doing.
- 21:26Okay?
- 21:33I think that's an important one to understand.
- 21:48I think sometimes people get scared about what
- 21:51that might be.
- 21:56But I still want you to understand that
- 21:57everything is possible when you believe.
- 22:01My slogan is when you believe, you'll achieve.
- 22:04Right?
- 22:04Believemeachieve.com.
- 22:10And I think when we can do these
- 22:12kinds of things, our life sort of re
- 22:15-augments itself.
- 22:17In a good way.
- 22:19Right?
- 22:20In a good way.
- 22:23But people get scared about this.
- 22:26People oftentimes get scared.
- 22:29So respond with certainty.
- 22:31And when you do, other people will be
- 22:32like, oh, wait a minute.
- 22:33He knows what he's talking about.
- 22:36When you're certain, the world unfolds for you.
- 22:39So even if you're scared, act as though
- 22:42you know, you know, you know.
- 22:44And when you know, guys, the world will
- 22:47change for you.
- 22:54The world will change for you.
- 22:59The world will change for you.
- 23:00And when the world changes for you, your
- 23:02life will become very special.
- 23:05It will become like something you never imagined
- 23:09was possible.
- 23:12When you become that very unique person.
- 23:16Okay?
- 23:16When you become that neat person, things will
- 23:24change for you.
- 23:34That's important.
- 23:37And that can open some very amazing doors
- 23:40for you.
- 23:41Number 25.
- 23:42A simple signal always beats a scattered one.
- 23:45Right?
- 23:47Let's send the message in the least amount
- 23:50of bits or the least amount of data.
- 23:53And what we'll find is that signal will
- 23:56get through.
- 23:57A shorter signal will get through easier than
- 24:00a faster signal.
- 24:03A bigger, I should say, a more robust
- 24:05signal.
- 24:06Speed isn't the issue.
- 24:07It's more of the size of the signal.
- 24:09Sometimes people, there was a gentleman talking today.
- 24:12Great talk.
- 24:13But it was long.
- 24:15And it was getting into promotion at the
- 24:16end.
- 24:18And I've learned that when you give a
- 24:21short talk, it needs to be short.
- 24:24It can't be a half hour.
- 24:26People start doing this and looking at their
- 24:28watch.
- 24:29Oh, we don't like it.
- 24:30Okay.
- 24:31Number 26, guys.
- 24:34Good signals create momentum and have forward movement.
- 24:45That's important, guys.
- 24:51That's important to know.
- 24:55Extremely important to know.
- 25:03But you need to understand that.
- 25:10You need to understand what you're doing.
- 25:12And why you're doing it.
- 25:15You need to realize that everything in your
- 25:17life has to align with your core values.
- 25:19If it doesn't, you've got to look at
- 25:22what you're doing and why you're doing it.
- 25:26Like, what's the purpose behind it?
- 25:30What kind of value are you creating?
- 25:33Right?
- 25:34What kind of value are you creating?
- 25:37And I think that's a very important thing
- 25:40to understand.
- 25:42I think
- 25:52when you can understand value in a certain
- 25:55way, it changes the perception of where you're
- 26:00going.
- 26:04Where you're going.
- 26:09That's the key, guys.
- 26:11That is ultimately the key.
- 26:17Number 27, guys.
- 26:19The clearer the message, the faster the decision.
- 26:22When somebody gives you a presentation and they
- 26:25want you to make a decision, you're like,
- 26:27what are you asking me?
- 26:30What are you even talking about?
- 26:33When the message is clear, you're either going
- 26:34to get a yes or you're going to
- 26:35get a no.
- 26:36And if you get a no, the reason
- 26:38you got a no is because your message
- 26:41didn't get them to feel the pain.
- 26:46It didn't appeal to them emotionally.
- 26:49People make decisions on logic, yes.
- 26:52But to be truthful, a lot of people
- 26:54make them on emotion.
- 26:55Now, we shouldn't make business decisions on emotion.
- 26:57But a lot of people fall into that
- 26:59trap.
- 27:01Number 28.
- 27:03What you project becomes the frame others see
- 27:05you through.
- 27:06So project yourself with that great light.
- 27:09With that great energy.
- 27:10Number 29.
- 27:11Strong signals create trust without needing to persuade.
- 27:15Be who you are.
- 27:17Don't be someone else.
- 27:18Be authentic.
- 27:19Be original.
- 27:20Number 30.
- 27:21Clarity is and always will be your best
- 27:24signal.
- 27:24So stop trying to muck up the signal
- 27:27and just send it clear and short.
- 27:29Now, ladies and gentlemen, ask yourself this.
- 27:31What are you signaling right now?
- 27:33Because when you take control of your signal,
- 27:35everything in the world changes.
- 27:37You stop chasing.
- 27:38You start attracting.
- 27:39You stop explaining.
- 27:40And you start connecting.
- 27:41You stop being overlooked and start being understood.
- 27:45And the world of noise, the clearest signal
- 27:48will win.
