Latest / Podcast - Big 98.7 / Gen Z Doesn't Care About Manners
Transcript
- 0:00You know what I read in a book once when I was young, I
- 0:01was a young man, I was growing up. As in the library found
- 0:04a book of quotes, and I was looking to get a little inspiration,
- 0:07and I found one that really caught my eye. You know what it said,
- 0:09Amanda. It said, it's the manners that make the man. And
- 0:14since a sad way, I have lived by that word. Okay, And
- 0:19yet we have Generation Z, the young generation, entering you know, adulthood
- 0:24and ruining everything we've established when it comes to table manners. Because the study
- 0:29was done, and apparently as a generation, they are just deciding table manners
- 0:34are relevant. And you're talking table manners as in yes, please, thank
- 0:38you, that situation, no more so etiquette. Okay. So, for
- 0:41example, they say they do not care if people put their elbows, elbows,
- 0:47their elbows, albers, elbows on the table. Also, a strong
- 0:51majority of them they could care less about how somebody holds their silverware. I
- 0:55mean, to be fair, I'm not going to judge you on it.
- 0:58I feel like we've all gotten a little lack. It's not like I'm sitting
- 1:00in Pretty Woman every day making sure I'm you know, sitting proper, but
- 1:03I'm also not hovering over my plate. My friends always make fun of me.
- 1:08They act like it's the last meal I'll ever get, and I'm like
- 1:11protecting it from wolves. It's just like your last meal after wrestling, when
- 1:15you were cutting away and you're like, nobody's coming in for this. I
- 1:18think it's very primal. I think it's like instinctually I'm fighting off any attackers.
- 1:23As far is eating with the right utensils. I feel like everybody,
- 1:26like fancy pants, is kind of over how you hold it. Like,
- 1:30I'll hold my fork like the only time I really notice it. And love
- 1:34my grandpa when he was eating meat and taters, it was like a pitchfork.
- 1:38You know. There are certain people, yeah exactly that you would just
- 1:42see'd be mashing them down. But other than that, I'm not gonna judge
- 1:46you. No, it's so stupid. The ELP was on the table.
- 1:48Who cares? I mean, really, who cares? And that's the thing
- 1:52with a lot of like etiquette stuff, it's just so dumb. I mean,
- 1:55we're just like a bunch of really, to break it down, I
- 1:57mean, we're just a bunch of bags of me and we're just making these
- 2:00weird rules. Etiquette for me is and I do my best, but it
- 2:06is a struggle. Just make sure you don't have your phone out at the
- 2:08table, you know what I mean. We're really trying to instill that with
- 2:10our kids, that you know, we're we all sit down to eat together.
- 2:15My husband gets so mad at me because he's usually the one who cooks,
- 2:17but he doesn't always eat right away. It's the weirdest thing. He
- 2:22like watches us eat, but no, no, no, that's my job.
- 2:27But I do not understand. Like then he'll get mad at me.
- 2:30Sometimes he's like, you guys already ate you guys got up. It's like,
- 2:34well you're not. You didn't come and eat with us at the time.
- 2:36No, you got to eat right away. I totally get that.
- 2:38Lauren, for example, like if she'll cook, she'll want to clean up
- 2:40the entire kitchen, do all the dishes. And I'm sitting there with a
- 2:44plate of food in front of me, starving. I'm like, I'm not
- 2:46gonna wait, come eat. I'll help you clean up. I would love
- 2:50to, but I'm not gonna do it before as my food gets cold and
- 2:53I'm starving, looking at and smelling it, and we're a little lax when
- 2:55it's like, hey, can I be excused from the table. I would
- 2:59really like to instill that etiquette. I don't want my kids just up and
- 3:00you know one's upstairs trying to do something. Just those table manners. I
- 3:05would like to be a little bit better at. Well, here's some other
- 3:07ones that jen z are actually do care about. For example, they do
- 3:10care a little bit about loud chewing, and that's a manner or etiquette that
- 3:15I can get down with, because it's just like sensory wise, it's horrible.
- 3:20Somebody is just human nature. And also they do care when people have
- 3:23their phone at the table, probably a little less. I will say,
- 3:27and this is not for you, Amanda, I'll just talk to the person
- 3:30listening right now. I had dinner with Amanda or we had lunch on Monday,
- 3:32and she was on her phone the whole time. I was just gearing
- 3:37up for something. Well. I mean, I'm just saying, when you
- 3:38have a two person meal, if one person's on their phone, it's like
- 3:42doo do doo do doo. No. I was really multitasking and just getting
- 3:46better about your phone in general. Have you ever just like left your phone
- 3:50in the car. My husband does that all the time. I'm like,
- 3:52what are you doing? It's like I just left my phone in the car,
- 3:54Like we're gonna go do this? Oh it's I need to be better
- 3:58at that, Like you care if you're going out to eat, especially with
- 4:00two people. Maybe we try this Monday next time we have lunch, because
- 4:03go get it. When we're gonna do a Facebook Oh yeah, we do
- 4:05that. But if I go out with my wife, I love it.
- 4:08I won't say anything though, but I'll just leave my phone in the car
- 4:11and bes in there eating and she'll be like, oh, like what what
- 4:13time is it or something, and they'll be like, oh, I don't
- 4:15know, my phone's in the car, and Amanda, the look on her
- 4:16face is just like it is kind of like wow, you really truly like
- 4:20you're you're here for me in this moment. But also how many conversations do
- 4:25you have where you're trying to look something up? It's like, I don't
- 4:27have my phone right now. Oh, I don't have my phone right now.
- 4:29It's kind of fun. It's it's kind of fun to pretend like you're
- 4:30in the past where it's like if we don't know the answer, we just
- 4:33got to make something up for figure it out the library and an encyclopedia like
- 4:39a minute in the morning, big nutty eight points sound, Now here's what
- 4:44you need to know. Well, I had forgotten all about this, but
- 4:46the leak weading up to leading up to Remember that leak the week of the
- 4:50super Bowl. It was gross leading up to the Super Bowl. When Patrick
- 4:56Mahomes dad ended up with that third DUI in Texas, we kind of thought,
- 5:00Oh, he'll just get away with it. Not the case. I
- 5:03guess he could face up to ten years in prison if he is sentenced in
- 5:06a ten thousand dollars fine. Three of them though, And I don't know
- 5:10the laws in Texas, but usually it's three strikes, you're out of the
- 5:13old ball game. Well yeah, I mean I know people who have like
- 5:15eight or ten, you know. Really yeah, it's so it's possible,
- 5:19I mean over a lifetime. But still, yeah, no, it's not
- 5:23cool. I mean, Junior might have got away with it. I know
- 5:26he was not happy when his dad got it the week of the Super Bowl
- 5:28because it's such a distraction. Remember what he said pastro He went, God,
- 5:32oh, if I had a good impression, that would have been so
- 5:34bad. It would have been so funny, but it was. I can't
- 5:38even I sound like an idiot. You're really good. How about you,
- 5:41since you're not good at doing the kermit, how about you give us goofy.
- 5:44You're good. You have a good goofy impression, but let me cleanse
- 5:46everyone's palate with a little goofy. Fucks No, I do a Mickey impression.
- 5:51Oh yeah, Mickey, I do a wow an impression of Mickey saying
- 5:55goofy. Yes, here it is, goofy. We'll just move on going
- 6:03to O'Brian is sent a return to The Tonight Show on April ninth. The
- 6:06appearance will mark his first since his abrupt departure. This was fourteen years ago.
- 6:13Talk about feeling old. I know. That was so dramatic, remember,
- 6:16because it was like he had done the Late Late Show forever and finally
- 6:20the stalwart Jay Leno was going to back step down and it would be his
- 6:25shot. And then right away jay Leno was like, no, actually,
- 6:28I think I want to keep doing it. Yeah, And they ended up
- 6:30on what TBS for a while, and unfortunately that was just a program people
- 6:33weren't watching. But you have wasted a lot up because I think he came
- 6:36on after whose line is it? Anyway? Growing up? And so we
- 6:40were watching a lot of TBS okay it did she have also a lot of
- 6:44reruns? I remember Friends, but didn't they have Seinfeld reruns? Yeah?
- 6:46I think had a lot of the big reruns. Well, I remember,
- 6:49I specifically remember his channel two hundred and forty seven on DirecTV growing up.
- 6:54I guess you were a big TBS guy. The reason he is going to
- 6:58be joining the current host, Jimmy Fallon, is to discuss his new series,
- 7:00Conan O'Brien Muscow, which is going to be streaming on Max. Andy
- 7:04Richter is a sidekick. That's who we were thinking of earlier. Very funny.
- 7:08Yeah, I mean, Conan's hilarious. He's got a podcast too.
- 7:11Not to tell you to listen to another form of audio entertainment, but listening
- 7:15to Pike and Amanda's podcast, of course, it might be the next thing
- 7:18you listen to, and you can just take up a little listen and then
- 7:21skip to our next podcast. He's great. I mean, he's just a
- 7:25legend Tiger Woods. He's gearing up for the Masters. Now, remind me
- 7:31did he play last year? Or did he not even make it to the
- 7:35No. He did. He played last year and it was because his problem
- 7:39right now after his leg injury. He has a hard time walk. He
- 7:42can golf. He just walking the courses in Augusta National where the Masters is
- 7:46in Georgia, a lot of hills, so he really he ended up backing
- 7:50out. He withdrew in the middle of the tournament last year, and he's
- 7:54been doing that a lot lately, most recently because he was sick. So
- 7:58I was kind of surprised that he was gearing up for the Masters. And
- 8:01apparently he is all in. One of his friends says that he is so
- 8:03focused. He's been really working hard at the gym. He's eating right,
- 8:07He is even eliminated intimacy. Does it affect your golf game? Is that
- 8:13why I'm so bad? Is that? Is that what's going on? I'm
- 8:18gonna have to break the news of my wife when I get home. Hey,
- 8:20all right, this summer we're really locking in. Okay that Rose Creek
- 8:26record love to hear that conversation go down. Well, apparently no relations until
- 8:31the tournament is over for that guy. He wants to stay focused and I
- 8:35can't be the only one thinking you were the best at the game when you
- 8:39were not necessarily focused on the game. You were focused on yeah, the
- 8:45other stuff. I wonder. You know, it's just over for him,
- 8:48unfortunately. And listen, would it change my life if he won the Masters
- 8:52again, because in twenty nineteen that was the greatest day of my life,
- 8:56you know. But I don't think he's gonna And he's still a good golfer,
- 8:58but he just can't hang with some of these big dogs. Yeah,
- 9:01who are you thinking is gonna? I mean, like Scotti, Scheffler just
- 9:03is unstoppable. Right now, if we really want to get into a golf
- 9:07discussion, macklroy, I really like to say Roy McElroy, Rory McElroy.
- 9:11I saw him local, the one who was playing. I always saw Hogy.
- 9:15Yes, uh Fargo South legend. I think it might be North Jesus,
- 9:20No, I'm pretty sure it is South Tom Hogy. Yeah, he
- 9:22isn't in the Masters. He didn't qualify. Oh, I know, it
- 9:24was kind of a bummer, but he still made us proud. I saw
- 9:28him. I went to a tournament in Florida when I was living there,
- 9:30and Tom Hogy. I was just me standing there and Tom Hogy walked by.
- 9:33He had just made a bogey, so he's not happy. But I
- 9:35looked him and said, Fargo loves you, Tom, I know you did
- 9:39not Yeah, And as mad as he was, he's like, God,
- 9:41I gotta say something to this idiot. So he looked over. He went
- 9:45thank you. Oh no, he didn't look you in the eye and go
- 9:48d G f loves you from the radio shooting me. You came all the
- 9:54way to Florida this see, and he had his bag. He said,
- 9:58why don't you carry the bag this weekend for me? Speaking of golf,
- 10:03the weather is going to beautiful today, sunshine, high fifty five. I
- 10:05don't know if any courses are open today. You had mentioned. I know
- 10:09Rose Creek, Village, Village in the breakfast place they're open. Village Green,
- 10:15Village Green is open. I believe I think more heads open. Fardo
- 10:18opens a Rose Creek anyway opens tomorrow. I get Amanda in the morning.
- 10:22Did ninety point seven you want to spect a thing? When you hear that
- 10:28telephone room by friends? Lucky number, this lesson by friend in the sunny
- 10:37want arrested by friends? All right? So this one, Amanda, it's
- 10:41one of our young listeners high school student going out to college, and she
- 10:43wanted to have some fun with her mom. Who's I guess a little stressed
- 10:46about the whole situation. Okay, well, of course I can imagine.
- 10:48I can imagine. I mean, my god, your daughter said he will
- 10:50be graduating any day. Now back up, Bob, why would you do
- 10:54that to trying to make it? Cry? All right? Here see what
- 10:56we can do. Hello, Hi, Janine, this is tiny Boop Squig
- 11:03shorterly calling on a recorded line here from the College of Clowns and Entertainers.
- 11:07Did I catch you had a good time? Hold on? You are?
- 11:09Who calling from? Where? Yeah, tiny boop Squig shortly calling from the
- 11:15admissions office over here at the College of Clowns and Entertainers. You might know
- 11:18it more informally as clown You what you're kidding? Your name is Bob Squiggs
- 11:26shortly boop squig shortly yeah, and your name is Janine. How can I
- 11:31help you? Well, Janine, I'm calling because we seem to be missing
- 11:35a few things from your daughter Ava's financial aid application, and I was hoping
- 11:39that you could maybe just kind of help us fill in the blanks here.
- 11:41So, first, of all, she didn't put in what size clown shew
- 11:46she wears? So do you happen to know that information off the top of
- 11:48your head? You have the run person. My daughter did not fill up
- 11:52this oppersation. Okay, so your daughter isn't ava. Yeah, but there's
- 11:58no way she wants to go to nursing school. Nursing school, ma'am,
- 12:03with all due respect, nursing is a thing of the past. I can
- 12:05double check with our records department. I'm pretty sure we got the right person.
- 12:09But Janine, could I place you on a brief hold? Sure,
- 12:13but I have to hurry right, hang on real quick. Yeah, Janine,
- 12:22it definitely is your daughter. Oh my god, ma'am. You really
- 12:24should be proud of your daughter. I mean, our program here at Clown
- 12:28you both some pretty impressive job placement historically. It now you know, ninety
- 12:33five percent of our graduates are currently touring with the circus. Wow. In
- 12:37the other five percent work in the admissions office. No, no, no,
- 12:45no, no way is my daughter going to some stupid clown school.
- 12:48Okay, you need to check again. Okay, hold please, okay,
- 12:58Jane, are you there? Yes? Okay, So I did some digging
- 13:01and I did find something interesting here. It's not her, is it?
- 13:05Well not exactly, Okay, it wasn't her who applied to our clown school.
- 13:09You were correct. Well that's what I thought. Thanks for wasting my
- 13:13time. Finey boophead or whatever the hell your name is. No, Janine,
- 13:18it was your daughter who wanted us to prank call you. That was
- 13:20me? What yeah, Janine, hang on, hold on for this one.
- 13:26We're just clowning around. It's Pike and Amanda in the Morning on Big
- 13:31ninety eight point seven. Oh my god, the radio show. You say,
- 13:37freaking kidding me? I love it. Your daughter obviously just a prankster.
- 13:43I love this. Are you stressed about her graduating? Yeah? I
- 13:46am. I'm definitely dressed about her moving out. Obviously pretty high bar to
- 13:50get into, somewhat as prestigious as clown you now Aba reached out to us.
- 13:54It was super fun. I don't think we've pranked a mom before,
- 13:56but good luck to your daughter at the clown college nursing school. Yeah,
- 14:03thank you all. Like an in the Morning on Big Nutty eight point seven.
- 14:09This is important, though, Amanda, I feel like it's not said
- 14:11enough that you, as a mom and anybody who's a mom, Your taste
- 14:16buds still do matter even though you have young kids. Okay, Damm's gone
- 14:20away, but yeah, a lot of moms out there are just you know,
- 14:24every night it's chicken nuggets, or you don't put onions in the hot
- 14:28dish because your kid doesn't like it at Yeah, so a mom's gone viral
- 14:31for this TikTok, just proclaiming that moms make the food that you want.
- 14:35Your tastebuds matter, the kid will figure it out. But doesn't mean if
- 14:39you love a meal that you should never make it again because your kid doesn't
- 14:43like it. I guess I'm really selfish because I've never changed my ways,
- 14:46really not at all. No, do you ever make like a second like
- 14:48you make something for you and nick and then something separately for your kids.
- 14:50Let's let's just back up a whole chapter here. My husband does ninety five
- 14:56percent of the cooking, so not usually doing a lot of that. But
- 15:00Briggs ended up so Sydney was never a picky eater. She never had any
- 15:03food allergies. She is the girl who, at two years old, is
- 15:07loving mussels, sushi, oysters like it's bizarre too. Love that now,
- 15:13Briggsy's a little bit more picky. He does have a little bit of a
- 15:16food allergy, so we're kind of, you know, I think just making
- 15:18that up now it seems like everybody does. I know, he like actually
- 15:22breaks out in hives and went into anaphylactic shock ones Pike, OKG. Sorry,
- 15:26I take it back, So there was that, and make it up.
- 15:28Fine, he's got a tree nut allergy. He can eat peanuts,
- 15:31thankfully, eat peanut butter. But it's the cashew's pistachios. Oh those are
- 15:35the best knuts. No, and you forget what's all in certain things anyway,
- 15:39I digress. Bottom line is is we're going to be whipping up whatever
- 15:43and the kids can choose to eat it if they want something different. We're
- 15:48not gonna say no. I mean there's been times like, for instance,
- 15:50last night we had some leftovers, they weren't having it, and they had
- 15:54some cereal okay cereal for dinner, uh huh with some bananas. Oh geez,
- 15:58anything goes over the kind of yeah. Yeah, I mean as long
- 16:00as they just I feel like, because we all know people as adults who
- 16:04obviously grew up very picky eaters, and we're never told no, Yeah,
- 16:07that they just got fed whatever they liked, which you know is like hot
- 16:11dogs and you know, macaroni and cheese, just easy stuff like that.
- 16:15So you know people as adults, they're the ones at the party you have
- 16:18to order a cheese pizza for it because they don't like the icky toppings.
- 16:22I have totally gotten away from it. Like macaroni and cheese. I love
- 16:26it. It is so good, and I tend so long whenever I make
- 16:30stuff for my kids, I'm eating like ninety percent of the I'm like,
- 16:33that's just not good for me. And I know that's what I'm going to
- 16:34be diving into. That's partially to blame for the dad bod, you know,
- 16:38because dads eighty are busy, they don't get to work out, and
- 16:41then they got to eat whatever. The heck is just easier. You're making
- 16:44it for your kids, so you might as well as eat it like you
- 16:45said, or they'll eat two bites. It's like, well, I'm not
- 16:48gonna throw away that whole bowl of mac and cheese, So Mama getting after
- 16:51that after eating my meal and yeah, and then and then you do it
- 16:56again and again, and then they're five and then it's weird. You still
- 16:59have lost your baby way and all that happened like a mena in the morning
- 17:06on Big ninety eight point seven. Oh no, Amanda Stills. Let's see.
- 17:11Let's see Ronzi by JD. Peel Electric Happy Gilmore too is in the
- 17:15works, and Adam Sandler wants to pay tribute to the original cast because unfortunately,
- 17:18I mean, think about a Bob Barker he passed away. There's also
- 17:22Carl Weathers who played Chubbs. Yeah, yeah, that was not that long
- 17:26ago. Also Apollo Creed that's who that is, Yeah, legend. And
- 17:30then what's the other guy's name is? Joey I just signed That was just
- 17:34the other day, right I think so, yeah, yeah. He he's
- 17:37a crazy guy that hits Sandler with a Gilbert with the car. There's just
- 17:42so many great moments in this movie. And he sat down for this interview
- 17:47and he said they had written in all of those people in like some way,
- 17:51shape or form, they were going to partake because they are older now
- 17:53obviously because how old Burker Oh yeah, ninety nine, he was almost one
- 17:57hundred. And that's right, yes, but he say it does sucks.
- 18:00We love those guys, but now he's thinking about having the current prices right
- 18:03host Drew Carey make an appearance just kind of why because Bob Barker did that.
- 18:08I don't know. That feels weird to me. I mean cool,
- 18:11I guess, isn't it crazy? Though, the Drew Carey thing, it's
- 18:14still it will always feel like it's this new thing. But he's probably hosted
- 18:18Prices right more in my life than Bob Barker, did you know what I
- 18:22mean? Like, how many years has it been that long? I mean
- 18:23quickly with the year up. I'm curious like a cat, and it'll never
- 18:27be the same. He just doesn't have the same aura about him, you
- 18:30know in that game show. It feels so old school because it kind of
- 18:33is still. I just true, carry doesn't the vibe isn't there for me?
- 18:37He started in two thousand and seven. Yikes, yeah, just about
- 18:40half my life. Yeah, i'ven't tuned in a couple of times. I
- 18:42mean, because of course I grew up with Bob. I it's hard to
- 18:47watch. Yeah, I pretty much sick days in the summer, and then
- 18:49if you ever had to like go to the er or the walking clinic and
- 18:52you just watch it in the lobby. I'm preparing myself because Wheel of Fortune
- 18:56is gonna get Pat out of there. September is when c Chris starts,
- 19:00and trust me, I love see Chris, but that is going to be
- 19:02just I just don't know. It's kind of like when Who Wants to Be
- 19:04a Millionaire went to Meredith Vieira, like, so when you have that household
- 19:08name, it's tough. It's just comfort. It's like they're part of your
- 19:11home. It's just not the same, absolutely speaking, a tough. You
- 19:15know, I'm a j Lo fan, but this has got to sting a
- 19:18little bit. You remember, I haven't even heard any of her new music.
- 19:22She had a whole new album that dropped January. It was this is
- 19:26Me Now, and she is going out on tour and tickets aren't selling,
- 19:30and so now they're calling it a Greatest Hits Tour. It's quite the pivot.
- 19:36I mean, it's just the reality when you get to the age she
- 19:37is, which is like going around fifty. Yeah, and you've had so
- 19:41many hits that were twenty thirty years ago. People that's just what they loved.
- 19:44It's the nostalgia. It's just unless your name is Blink. When eighty
- 19:48two. People just aren't going to care about the problem on now, just
- 19:51the reality just in general, though, I would assume that you were going
- 19:53to go to her show. I would have if I knew she was coming
- 19:56to the Fargo area, I would have got tickets just because it's j low.
- 20:00But also you're assuming she's going to be playing Jenny from the Block and
- 20:04love don't costing all of that. I mean, God, you would assume,
- 20:07and I don't know. I only know probably a handful of her songs,
- 20:11I guess, So you think you could find room for them. Yeah.
- 20:14Absolutely, it just get louder. It's just a different way to promote
- 20:17it, you know what I mean. And Travis Kelsey just a smitten kitten.
- 20:22He sat down for an interview and said, I'm the happiest I've ever
- 20:25been. I'm a guy that some people say is glass half full, half
- 20:27empty, and my glass is all the way full. It's all the way
- 20:30a full. I'm oozing life right now. I mean it's almost too much,
- 20:36no, but you can just see the twinkle in his eye. He
- 20:38also did an interview for his uh Kelsey jam was the whole reason that he's
- 20:42making the media rounds. He's got that Kelsey Jam in Kansas City. It's
- 20:47been going on for years. It's a local music festival, but yet here
- 20:51he is promoting it on Entertainment tonight. Gee. I wonder what they were
- 20:53wondering about. Uh huh they were. Yeah, I mean, I think
- 20:56we're both very career driven, and you know, any chance that I can,
- 21:02you know, show my support to her, and knowing that she's shown
- 21:04me all the support in the world throughout the season, it's just been an
- 21:07amazing experience, you know, getting no Tay. It's just weird that her
- 21:11first question the host was about Taylor Swift. Do you think she'd come out
- 21:15maybe maybe asking about like where you can buy the tickets or what time do
- 21:19the gates open? But props to him for acknowledging that they are a power
- 21:25couple. People have the question so many people, and we've done interviews with
- 21:27people before they give you the things like here's what she can't ask about.
- 21:32And because Taylor is so famous, I wouldn't be surprised if that could have
- 21:36been the case. Yeah, it would be such a turn off for them
- 21:38to like just ignore it completely. Yeah, but he leans into it.
- 21:41He said, yeah, I'm going to Europe. I'm going to be,
- 21:42you know, there supporting her. But I always wonder what is it like
- 21:47to be dating somebody Now she's a billionaire, we found out that yesterday,
- 21:49and just how she lives her life. Here's a little tidbit about her music.
- 21:53I mean, it's definitely been fun to experience her taste in music for
- 21:57sure. I mean, she's so at what she does and to find that
- 22:03creativity, to see where she likes to pull things from, and just really
- 22:07how she listens to music is very eye opening to me. So it's it's
- 22:10been fun getting to hear her taste on it. Do you think it would
- 22:14be a turnout for him if he started dating Taylor Swift and he realized that
- 22:18she only listens to Taylor Swift music, that'd be hilarious. Like you looks
- 22:22over her phone, it's just a playlist of all of that her song.
- 22:25Speaking of her new music, Swifties are thinking that there was some sort of
- 22:30easter egg that was dropped that she's going to be releasing one of her songs
- 22:33maybe this week from the Tortured Poets with the albums out this month, right,
- 22:37Yeah, so it wouldn't surprise me if we got one song. They
- 22:41think they're onto her. It's like, oh, or is it? Because
- 22:42her album's almost out and generally there's a lead single before the album. Pike
- 22:48such a hater. The Swifties are onto something like it A minute in the
- 22:52morning, big Nutty eight points seven. Couples who drink together stay together.
- 22:59That's what they say. That's the old saying, right, you've heard that.
- 23:02Wow, well this is not just me saying that, this is actual
- 23:06research. I didn't realize I think I've ever heard that. Isn't there another
- 23:07saying like those that, oh, it's just work out together. That's a
- 23:11that's a real fill in the blank. Those who eat cookies together stay together.
- 23:17Those who those who have a thing in common, right, stay together.
- 23:21And I'm kidding. But this study, it's been going on for twenty
- 23:23years. They've been doing the study on couples, so they have over four
- 23:27thousand couples throughout this twenty year span they've been researching on how much they drink
- 23:33and how it affects their marriage. Okay, And the determination was that couples
- 23:37whose behavior you know, are drinking moderately, they are like an a line,
- 23:45they are the happiest. Okay, it revealed that they survived the longer,
- 23:52so literally are living longer, not just their marriage. Really it's taken
- 23:56them longer to die too. Now. They found that if you don't drink
- 24:00at all, or if one spouse drinks and the other doesn't, or if
- 24:04you it probably goes with that saying if you both drink heavily, it's usually
- 24:08not a good thing. You're probably toast. Yeah, well, I mean
- 24:11it could be, It could be. It could be. You know,
- 24:15listen, we all love. I love occasionally tying went on with my wife,
- 24:19you know, for vacation or whatever. Oh. Absolutely, But I
- 24:22also think it is there's something about like if hey, we're gonna have a
- 24:26beer, you're gonna have a glass of wine. Like those are moments to
- 24:27look forward to as well, like through your week it's like, hey,
- 24:32let's meet up in It's just kind of like that oh yeah, just that
- 24:34moment that you have together, especially after having kids. I'm like, oh
- 24:37my gosh, this is like our time to like really yeah, a little
- 24:41chummy chummy. Yeah. I like it. Yeah, I really look forward
- 24:44to having like just just a happy hour couple drinks, my wife. I
- 24:47do have one case study though, that really solidifies this. I would love
- 24:52to hear it. Ninety six year old grandma Milly her boyfriend Danny, who's
- 24:56ninety. Yeah, you know, they're still going to the VFW and Morehead.
- 25:00They came over for Easter Sunday. Yeah, they walk they walk in
- 25:04with a bottle of Captain and their their cokes and hey, a little light
- 25:10on Millie's today or you know. And but they're they're drinking the same cocktails.
- 25:15They're drinking them at the same time, talking about their next happy hour
- 25:18together. I mean, ninety six and ninety I'd say that's pretty solid.
- 25:22That's powerful research, I know. But they're kind of a hot new thing,
- 25:26though, aren't they. No. I mean this is I think it's
- 25:27probably been over six years, okay, but percentage wise, that's like four
- 25:32percent of their lives, so it doesn't count. Stop trying to ruin my
- 25:37case study here, Amanda in the morning on seven. I mean, we're
- 25:42both in our workout era, aren't we? You a little longer? I'm
- 25:45I'm seven days in. I'm pretty steady, but there's weeks where it's like
- 25:52I'm all in, and then there's weeks where it's like I'm lucky if I
- 25:55get on one or twice. Hey is on I mean the bike, Well
- 25:59how it goes as let me clarify, getting on once or twice, that's
- 26:03a good week for me. But you know how it is like once you
- 26:07hit oh, now I only do it once or twice and take this week
- 26:10off. Once you take a week off, it's like, shut it down,
- 26:11You're done. I am here one summer hits. I don't know what
- 26:15it is. It's just like I feel like I'm trapped inside working out,
- 26:18like and I'm not a runner outside, so I just try to get some
- 26:22steps in. Yeah, going back and forth to the park and that's it.
- 26:25But yeah, other than that, let's talk about what you're wearing,
- 26:29not right now, but when you're working out. Because they did a survey,
- 26:33half of gym goers admit to reusing their sweaty workout underwear. What and
- 26:38I got a gross oh my gosh, okay, okay, say this,
- 26:41but I wear I guess I would wear the same sports bra as long as
- 26:45I'm not like it's not sopping wet, like if it's not stankies, you
- 26:49know what I mean? Like that kind of thing, but I will wear
- 26:52the same sports bra. But undy's not a chance. Well, the survey
- 26:55does include sports bras as underwear undergarments. Oh okay, underwear, sports bra,
- 27:00jockstraps for my felons? Can I reverse my ew? Gross? Too?
- 27:06Oh funny? How you no problem? I guess I do that as
- 27:08sick. Oh well, even just briefs or box of briefs, what I
- 27:11wear, I'll rewear them for workouts. Who cares? You're barely close proximity
- 27:15to anybody, and even if you were, I mean truly, how many
- 27:18times do you have to wear sweaty underwear for it to be like a noticeable
- 27:22odor in your vicinity? Yeah, because that's a I hate washing clothes.
- 27:26We all do. So it's like I'm going to reuse them. I'll just
- 27:29leave them in a nice little spot. These are sweaty underwear. And so
- 27:32if I'm gonna work out, especially especially if you're gonna work out and then
- 27:34go do something afterward, you don't want to have this sweaty underwear, so
- 27:37you just swap them out with an old, dirty pair, or what I
- 27:41used to do when I used to work out in the morning, I would
- 27:42just use the underwear from the day before my normal underwear and save those for
- 27:47the workout and what process you had with your undies. I really had a
- 27:51system. Now the scholars should study the systems I had for my sweaty underwear
- 27:56because it does sound gross, but I think there's a lot of gross things
- 27:59we do that a lot of people just do not admit to. I know,
- 28:02and some are afraid you I'm not. I'll tell you no. Yeah,
- 28:06when a doubt you've got your little chony route that you got going on,
- 28:08here went in down, I'll wear a sweaty shirt. I mean,
- 28:11it depends on how hardy working out. Some of my workouts you could probably
- 28:15just you know, when I was going to like a couple fitness places in
- 28:18town, like you're dripping with sweat where it's like you just put instantly into
- 28:21the wash. But at home it's weird. I'm not motivating myself while I'm
- 28:25sitting there. I did. I did start wearing just like a sports bra
- 28:27and pants. So it's like, Lady, because we were talking about that
- 28:30couple that was working out naked, and I thought that kind of makes sense.
- 28:34So the less clothes I'm wearing, am I going like hmm, maybe
- 28:38work out a little harder. As you're you can see like my wing flap
- 28:41going here. I'm like, hey, I want to see the muscle.
