- 0:52Speaker 4: listening land Glad to be here with you always.
- 0:55Speaker 7: It's it's just.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Something about starting the month any month on a Monday,
- 1:06Speaker 4: June first Monday. I don't know, it seems more official,
- 1:10Speaker 4: like every month should start on a Monday. It makes
- 1:14Speaker 4: you feel like, man, I got like some things I'm
- 1:17Speaker 4: gonna do. It just puts you more into an idea
- 1:21Speaker 4: of getting out because the first is a day that
- 1:26Speaker 4: you typically have things do, and Mondays are usually how you.
- 1:32Speaker 7: Start your week.
- 1:33Speaker 4: You start with a little more vigor about how you're
- 1:36Speaker 4: going to accomplish some things during the week. Usually you
- 1:40Speaker 4: want to you know, by Thursday evening you're hoping to
- 1:43Speaker 4: knock some things, but it starts with that energy of
- 1:46Speaker 4: Monday starting the month. So June first is here, it
- 1:49Speaker 4: is Monday. We are live, We are happy to be
- 1:52Speaker 4: here with you. We know one thing which has taken
- 1:56Speaker 4: a long time. I don't know if it's my age
- 2:00Speaker 4: or just actually realizing how long it takes to get
- 2:04Speaker 4: around to the NBA Championship. I'm serious. Command you. Greg
- 2:11Speaker 4: in the building with the do rag made me all jealous.
- 2:14Speaker 4: I haven't had a do rag since eighty three eighty
- 2:19Speaker 4: No Rida, how you last time? Now had a black
- 2:26Speaker 4: do rag? And you know when I was trying to
- 2:30Speaker 4: get waves, you know waves where you were. You were
- 2:32Speaker 4: born in eighty four, Okay, so before you were born,
- 2:38Speaker 4: big thing was trying to get some wave. And I'm
- 2:42Speaker 4: from Florida, so you know the thing about the do rag.
- 2:46Speaker 4: A house in central Florida with no AC and a
- 2:50Speaker 4: do rag just does not help you sleep. And it
- 2:56Speaker 4: ain't nothing funny until you get old enough to realize
- 2:59Speaker 4: you was sleep with a do rad butt naked on
- 3:02Speaker 4: the floor because it's not a decrease in here. You
- 3:07Speaker 4: got no clothes on.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Now, after you've become a grown man, that's a conscious choice.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You know that'd be a night out of experiment. You know,
- 3:16Speaker 3: am I right? I'm no clothes, got no clothes?
- 3:21Speaker 7: Can we do? And all been butt making in a
- 3:23Speaker 7: new rall. I got to join everybody.
- 3:31Speaker 3: On the floor, but making it no a c to
- 3:35Speaker 3: get to the different reason.
- 3:37Speaker 4: The old theory that heat rises comes into play. So
- 3:41Speaker 4: you do a lot of things on the floor. Uh
- 3:45Speaker 4: to come back that that's the coolest. That's As you
- 3:48Speaker 4: go down, you think, nah, nah, you you try to
- 3:52Speaker 4: fight it, but even at the level of the couch
- 3:55Speaker 4: and the bed, it's still. If your hand moves down
- 3:59Speaker 4: to the floor, you can feel that two degrees different.
- 4:06Speaker 7: Human.
- 4:06Speaker 4: As much as you think you in control of yourself,
- 4:09Speaker 4: you're not. Your body will deliver that coolness.
- 4:14Speaker 1: It will.
- 4:15Speaker 4: All you'll be doing is wrestling with it all night.
- 4:18Speaker 4: And it's cool on that floor. I don't know why
- 4:21Speaker 4: you're up here sweating And then you're just sitting there
- 4:23Speaker 4: with a do rag with some grease, trying to get
- 4:25Speaker 4: some wave naked buck naked.
- 4:28Speaker 7: And the next thing you know, that wood reminiscent. The
- 4:32Speaker 7: next time you know that that hardwood flow in your back.
- 4:35Speaker 7: You got it.
- 4:37Speaker 3: You stepped to the wood a little bit because you've
- 4:39Speaker 3: been sweating and then you start to cool off and
- 4:42Speaker 3: you just put that pillow up under your head and
- 4:45Speaker 3: you be like, this is what NBA finals.
- 4:47Speaker 7: That's why I'm just saying, I don't know.
- 4:48Speaker 4: If it's age Big Kenny is in the building or
- 4:52Speaker 4: if it's just being on realizing.
- 4:57Speaker 7: It seeing the basketball season does dry gone. It is
- 5:02Speaker 7: a long, long journey, and I know it when you
- 5:06Speaker 7: add it up.
- 5:08Speaker 4: All sports typically are, at least even the NFL, it
- 5:14Speaker 4: is a seven month journey. But it don't seem like
- 5:18Speaker 4: seventh seven months, did it? But the basketball season almost
- 5:23Speaker 4: seems like it started with Halloween. Well and now it's
- 5:27Speaker 4: Father's Day.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Do you do you ever think it's because remember when
- 5:31Speaker 3: we used to just see the games from our region,
- 5:36Speaker 3: or you know, we might just see the games from
- 5:38Speaker 3: this conference of whatever conference your team played in. Its
- 5:42Speaker 3: kind of only the games we were allowed to catch
- 5:46Speaker 3: on the weekends or whenever they broadcast them on network TV.
- 5:50Speaker 3: But now we see every game of every team from
- 5:53Speaker 3: every conference on every coast. And I mean by the
- 5:57Speaker 3: third week of the season, I'm like, man, a lot
- 6:00Speaker 3: of and so by the time you get to the finals,
- 6:04Speaker 3: because I've seen all of the playoffs, all of you know,
- 6:08Speaker 3: the semifinals on each side, and you just like it's
- 6:12Speaker 3: like the Super Bowl, just kick the ball off.
- 6:14Speaker 4: All and other than the economic part, and I know
- 6:21Speaker 4: that's the biggest domino of anything that you ever.
- 6:23Speaker 7: Money. Money does make the world go round.
- 6:27Speaker 4: It would be delightful if all these rounds were best
- 6:35Speaker 4: of five. For me, it just would be And as
- 6:40Speaker 4: I said, I do know those two extra games, just
- 6:43Speaker 4: like out in the West it went to a game seven,
- 6:46Speaker 4: but it seemed like maybe you would get a stronger,
- 6:49Speaker 4: heavier product, and maybe the championship is seven. But for
- 6:54Speaker 4: all four rounds to be the best of seven, it
- 6:58Speaker 4: just seems like it's a long Because the regular seasons
- 7:01Speaker 4: teams that didn't make the playoffs, those teams.
- 7:03Speaker 7: Are off April tenth, twelve.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Up in there in that middle time, you know, right there,
- 7:11Speaker 3: to pay taxes time. They've been off for a while.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I mean, they've been sitting home for two weeks. E've
- 7:19Speaker 3: been sitting at home almost a month. And this is
- 7:21Speaker 3: the thing. The only thing I think will affect that
- 7:25Speaker 3: change is if people stopped watching them extra games.
- 7:28Speaker 4: But no, not that I know, yeah, not I'm calling
- 7:31Speaker 4: for people. I'm saying it, but it seems like the.
- 7:35Speaker 3: League won't give up that extra money, and nobody's uncomfortable
- 7:39Speaker 3: enough to go. Man, I've had enough basketball, Like if
- 7:43Speaker 3: they put on six or seven more games, we would
- 7:46Speaker 3: struggle through the game and watch them.
- 7:49Speaker 8: I guess it's hard for leagues too. We haven't seen
- 7:52Speaker 8: any league like go back to less, like less games
- 7:58Speaker 8: or no, are you looking at the with We talked
- 8:01Speaker 8: about the NCAA Tournament going back to less teams. They
- 8:04Speaker 8: just added eight more teams. So I don't know what.
- 8:09Speaker 8: I'm not sure what it would take for the any
- 8:12Speaker 8: of the leagues to go back to less games, to
- 8:17Speaker 8: be more more efficient, to have more for players to
- 8:21Speaker 8: have more rest or more you know a little more
- 8:23Speaker 8: time between games.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Yeah, only gat get that. The only thing we've seen
- 8:29Speaker 4: is like the college football and Major League Baseball have
- 8:34Speaker 4: tried ways to speed up the game right where you know,
- 8:39Speaker 4: in college football, I can't remember exact procedure where the
- 8:45Speaker 4: clock starts a little sooner when you go out of bounds.
- 8:49Speaker 4: They're adapting more like the NFL. That's why the NFL
- 8:53Speaker 4: game typically is twenty twenty five minutes shorter because the
- 8:58Speaker 4: clock consistent like a.
- 9:00Speaker 8: First down or after a first down. In college, it
- 9:03Speaker 8: would stop, but I think now it's it's going to continue.
- 9:06Speaker 4: And I call high school games and what makes them.
- 9:10Speaker 4: They're shorter in time than even college. So college in
- 9:14Speaker 4: the NFL played fifteen minute quarters. High school plays twelve.
- 9:20Speaker 4: But they stop the ball almost every play. The clock
- 9:25Speaker 4: stops and in kind of way of fashion, which makes
- 9:29Speaker 4: those games even three hours.
- 9:31Speaker 7: So and as a league, is that my defense?
- 9:35Speaker 3: When you go, manya could shorten this season the shortness
- 9:39Speaker 3: playoff series, they go, come on, man, we start the
- 9:43Speaker 3: clock a lot faster now, like we got to pitch clock,
- 9:46Speaker 3: we got to this clock.
- 9:47Speaker 7: We be counting. So we're doing ours being considered on the.
- 9:52Speaker 8: In the NBA, I at the day job, we broadcast
- 9:58Speaker 8: some euro League games. They play for ten minute quarters,
- 10:02Speaker 8: like that's the Olympics, that's FOBA, and they are trying
- 10:07Speaker 8: to they're doing everything to try to speed up the game.
- 10:11Speaker 8: So we cut it by eight minutes. If we here
- 10:14Speaker 8: longer than an hour and forty five minutes, something's wrong.
- 10:18Speaker 8: So some leagues may try to speed it up or
- 10:22Speaker 8: to shorten it. But in America, I don't know what's
- 10:25Speaker 8: going to take. I think tennis is the only.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Sport that still benefits from people willing to make an
- 10:32Speaker 3: afternoon of the sport that in golf, Like I'm willing
- 10:37Speaker 3: to just give up the entire day to witness this
- 10:40Speaker 3: sporting event. Everybody else's got like the timeline mentality. I
- 10:44Speaker 3: want to get it in as fast as I can
- 10:46Speaker 3: before I go do seven other things today.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Well, the one thing that especially NFL, the major sports
- 10:53Speaker 4: in our country, like you to fit within the time
- 10:57Speaker 4: frame for advertising. They want you to come on at
- 11:01Speaker 4: one and be off at four, so they do all
- 11:04Speaker 4: they can to fit you in there. Tennis, if you
- 11:08Speaker 4: watch even the French opening, we got a lot of
- 11:10Speaker 4: things to talk about it today, they will just cut
- 11:14Speaker 4: away and go to the best action as it happened.
- 11:18Speaker 4: So I'm showing you this for Nadal versus Federal, but
- 11:24Speaker 4: they will quickly go over to a tie set on
- 11:30Speaker 4: another match to make sure you get that in. You know,
- 11:34Speaker 4: they're almost the inventors of the split screen. Real quickly.
- 11:38Speaker 4: They really need you that.
- 11:41Speaker 7: But it's just a.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Long time to get to this Spurs Knicks battle that
- 11:46Speaker 4: will start on Wednesday. We'll talk about that matchup as well.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Today we'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right
- 11:54Speaker 4: after this.

- 14:34Speaker 10: of the Day on the Sports Jocksh's.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Taken it to a completely different level this.
- 14:38Speaker 10: Year where we highlight an athlete that has taken their
- 14:41Speaker 10: game to the next level.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Two years ago, a friend of mine acts needs to
- 14:58Speaker 3: save some mc rods.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Why I said this vibe? I'm about to say the
- 15:02Speaker 1: rhyme was death, but then it went this way. Welcome
- 15:05Speaker 1: back to the show.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I'm just for Shock Wayne againde Good morning.
- 15:11Speaker 4: To you out there and listening. Land glad to be
- 15:13Speaker 4: here with you. Comandi, Greg, Big Kenny in the building.
- 15:17Speaker 7: Uh.
- 15:17Speaker 4: The French Open is going on. We're in the second week.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Championship will be for the men's and women this coming weekend,
- 15:26Speaker 4: and a lot of the brand names for the men's
- 15:29Speaker 4: side really are unknown. Carlos Avarez, John Nick Center Uh
- 15:37Speaker 4: was out early. Alvarez didn't play because of a risk injury.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Those are probably the two biggest name names on the
- 15:46Speaker 4: men's side and on the women's side. Golf Coco, Golf,
- 15:51Speaker 4: uh Ig, swy Tech. Those names out already early, so
- 15:57Speaker 4: going into this week, gotta start learning how to pronounce
- 16:01Speaker 4: new names. Big Kenny, like swy Tech, wasn't hard enough.
- 16:08Speaker 4: But one story popped up and it made me wonder
- 16:14Speaker 4: because here in our country, America, USA, we kind of
- 16:20Speaker 4: have a idea in a green book approach to society
- 16:27Speaker 4: and the dudes and don'ts. You know some of them,
- 16:32Speaker 4: you agree with, some of them you don't. Some of
- 16:34Speaker 4: the you don't even know you have broken until you do.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Because people come up with some kind of label to
- 16:43Speaker 4: how you might address someone, and everybody's not up on
- 16:49Speaker 4: that cold book. I've talked about that, like you want
- 16:52Speaker 4: me to know instantly in a lot of situations, I
- 16:56Speaker 4: don't know the cold book, and you can be found
- 16:59Speaker 4: to be rude or insensitive, and from that point on,
- 17:04Speaker 4: if you're a good person, you move on and try
- 17:06Speaker 4: to do it that way. But everything you don't know
- 17:08Speaker 4: all the time. Here in this case, I was wondering.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Comanchi Big Kenny, the French Open has fined a Dalfo
- 17:18Speaker 4: for hey Yo.
- 17:21Speaker 7: Seventy six thousand dollars.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Knowing his match the other day, he felt like and
- 17:30Speaker 4: it went five sets and he lost, but he felt
- 17:34Speaker 4: like the match, as he said, should have had a
- 17:40Speaker 4: male umpire, not a female. So they find him seventy
- 17:48Speaker 4: six thousand dollars for being sexist, remarked, And I kept wondering,
- 17:55Speaker 4: Commanchi and that Kenny in Paraguay, where Adolfo is from,
- 18:07Speaker 4: do they know that it is sexist? Because remember, when
- 18:12Speaker 4: we're dealing in these different this is an international sport, right, correct,
- 18:17Speaker 4: You can't just.
- 18:17Speaker 7: Place certain your societal whatever.
- 18:21Speaker 4: You know, y'all aren't eating camel over here, but we
- 18:25Speaker 4: are over there. So now you're talking about, you know,
- 18:30Speaker 4: those little intricacies that sometimes we forgot. So in Paraguay,
- 18:34Speaker 4: which is in South America, right, have they their green
- 18:40Speaker 4: books say what he said was sexist?
- 18:43Speaker 3: Well, and this is not to defend what he said
- 18:47Speaker 3: or support it. It's just that I imagine that, like
- 18:52Speaker 3: most sports, tennis, being an international sport, has varied personalities,
- 19:03Speaker 3: but they are all governed by that sports rules and regulations.
- 19:09Speaker 3: So whatever the rules and regulations are, whatever your sensibilities are,
- 19:15Speaker 3: can't go outside of the rules of regulations.
- 19:18Speaker 4: No, I'm not trying to, really, I'm not trying to
- 19:21Speaker 4: lift the rules and regulation. Right, I'm trying to figure
- 19:25Speaker 4: out in your knowledge with this necessarily register. It's just
- 19:30Speaker 4: like we say, we used to say the M word
- 19:35Speaker 4: and now you say small people.
- 19:38Speaker 7: Yeah, and that's what I'm saying.
- 19:41Speaker 4: But in Bella Rus we still say that they don't
- 19:44Speaker 4: know that you're.
- 19:45Speaker 7: Not supposed to say M words.
- 19:47Speaker 4: What I'm saying in this case, well, I know what
- 19:51Speaker 4: the seventy six thousand dollars tells me that the Roland
- 19:53Speaker 4: Geros this is there?
- 19:55Speaker 7: But right would he? No? No, That's what I'm saying.
- 19:59Speaker 7: Ignorance of the law is no exception. Man.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Look where I come from, we call them tiny M words.
- 20:05Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. But that's not where you are.
- 20:08Speaker 4: And no, no, no, I think you're still not hitting
- 20:11Speaker 4: on what I'm asking you. Would you think he knows
- 20:16Speaker 4: not that he's not going to pay the fine? How
- 20:19Speaker 4: would he know that that sexist? I don't live in France.
- 20:26Speaker 4: I just play in the tennis circuit.
- 20:27Speaker 8: Where agree when they sent the email, it's a I think, well,
- 20:35Speaker 8: we're looking at like what's acceptable or what what is
- 20:39Speaker 8: considered you know, politically correct or polite in France or
- 20:46Speaker 8: just in the tennis realm in general versus Paraguay or
- 20:53Speaker 8: or you know, wherever he may have grown up. So
- 20:56Speaker 8: I think it's the expectations made me different. I think
- 20:59Speaker 8: it could be it's a cultural difference to where just
- 21:03Speaker 8: the expectations of what because his complaint was that the
- 21:10Speaker 8: crowd was a little unruly and it should have taken
- 21:16Speaker 8: a man to control that aspect of the match, and
- 21:22Speaker 8: he felt that the female referee did not do that.
- 21:27Speaker 3: So for American sensibilities, they were all just offended. Do
- 21:32Speaker 3: you know, females ain't got control and females shouldn't be
- 21:35Speaker 3: doing this. But again we talked off air about how
- 21:41Speaker 3: now the responsibilities on the customer. It used to be
- 21:45Speaker 3: like when I would film a television project, they would
- 21:48Speaker 3: have a whole day where you would meet with legal
- 21:50Speaker 3: people and they would tell you what you can and
- 21:53Speaker 3: can't say, what is too sensitive, and what is up
- 21:56Speaker 3: to the line. And now they just send you the
- 21:58Speaker 3: email and the email says these are the rules and regulations,
- 22:04Speaker 3: download them and by clicking agree, you have told us.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's what I'm saying. That's all I'm saying.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Find a doff hoole. I'm not saying not to. But
- 22:19Speaker 4: I'm saying there are things that without me moving, I imagine,
- 22:24Speaker 4: regardless of wherever I am on this planet, I can
- 22:28Speaker 4: have a spider sense that having this gun.
- 22:33Speaker 7: Probably is wrong, not in Georgia.
- 22:36Speaker 4: No matter where I go in Georgia, if I put
- 22:39Speaker 4: this gun on a plane, if I travel, I could
- 22:43Speaker 4: get in trouble with this gun. I don't know my words.
- 22:47Speaker 4: I wouldn't expect expect. I don't know what of my
- 22:51Speaker 4: words is wrong. Britney Griner might have had a better
- 22:57Speaker 4: spider sense that drugs is wrong. She didn't know the
- 23:03Speaker 4: weight of what the Russian law. Maybe I can give
- 23:07Speaker 4: her that America, a lot of places she probably passed through,
- 23:11Speaker 4: they just confiscate, throw it in the garbage, and get
- 23:13Speaker 4: on your flight and move on. But if I put
- 23:17Speaker 4: a gun in her purse, she probably like, oh it
- 23:19Speaker 4: got me. So that's all I was asking. As a person.
- 23:23Speaker 4: I'm not saying that you have to live under the
- 23:25Speaker 4: governing body. I wonder in Paraguay, is that the demeanor
- 23:30Speaker 4: of their society. That's not even the demeanor of how
- 23:35Speaker 4: men said the rule. Men are in those jobs. More away,
- 23:40Speaker 4: we sometime we forget places in this world, women can't drive,
- 23:45Speaker 4: they can't vote, they can't be had a household, they
- 23:50Speaker 4: can't open the door, they can't show their faces.
- 23:54Speaker 7: And I don't know, outside.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Of our governing rules and regulations, a lot of men
- 23:58Speaker 3: would have it like that here.
- 24:00Speaker 4: So I mean, that's what I'm saying. That's why I'm
- 24:02Speaker 4: not questioning the rules and regulation. No, I was wondering
- 24:05Speaker 4: the person.
- 24:06Speaker 3: My point is that, yeah, I think it was expect
- 24:09Speaker 3: My point is that as people, I don't think any
- 24:13Speaker 3: of us are allowed to be who it is we
- 24:15Speaker 3: truly feel like we are anymore.
- 24:18Speaker 7: That's my thing.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Regardless of where you're from the Paraguay or Marietta, I
- 24:24Speaker 3: can't really say how I feel anymore.
- 24:27Speaker 4: But Benny, for some reason, we're not on this. I
- 24:31Speaker 4: completely agree with you. I think maybe we're not connecting
- 24:36Speaker 4: on the idea of the Adolpho even know that that's
- 24:40Speaker 4: when people from the North.
- 24:42Speaker 7: Come to in this country.
- 24:43Speaker 4: When people from New York come to the South, they
- 24:46Speaker 4: don't They're not prone to say ma'am sir, you introduce
- 24:51Speaker 4: them to your mom. They just say bunny. They don't
- 24:56Speaker 4: know sir or maam like we know sir ahmn. They
- 25:03Speaker 4: just are and they're not trying to be rude. Right,
- 25:07Speaker 4: and my my thing, But we didn't have him a
- 25:09Speaker 4: green book. Hey, when you cross the Mason Dixon line,
- 25:12Speaker 4: make sure you learn in the South to say sir
- 25:16Speaker 4: may So. I was just wondering, did you think he
- 25:19Speaker 4: grew up in Paraguay understanding the difference?
- 25:22Speaker 3: And I'm saying no, he probably didn't. But when you're
- 25:25Speaker 3: in the South, people will still penalize you.
- 25:27Speaker 7: Hey, man, that's my mama.
- 25:29Speaker 3: You need to call her miss And he's on some oil.
- 25:33Speaker 7: I didn't grow up like that.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And again, because of where you are, they expect you
- 25:38Speaker 3: to it's at least be held account before it, and
- 25:41Speaker 3: I don't think that's fair. Him being fine for something
- 25:44Speaker 3: he may not have known isn't fair. But the rules
- 25:47Speaker 3: are the rules, and that's where I think the area
- 25:50Speaker 3: gets blurred.
- 25:50Speaker 7: You'll be back more to Sports Jock Show Red after this.
- 25:54Speaker 14: Take account one, two three cham that's the j front EMC.

- 26:12Speaker 7: That's what we were taught service before self.
- 26:15Speaker 1: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 26:18Speaker 7: When was the last time you reached out for help?

- 28:20Speaker 3: Welcome back to the sport Shock Shout. I'm the spoy
- 28:22Speaker 3: Shock Wing GAMEY. Good morning to you.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Naomi Asaka and Sablenka run Ya Sablinka will play tonight.
- 28:34Speaker 4: First time two women have played at night at Roland
- 28:37Speaker 4: Garros on a Monday. It's been thirty three years from
- 28:44Speaker 4: what I saw that match this early, and as I
- 28:50Speaker 4: said in the opening, I think a lot of that
- 28:52Speaker 4: is just there's no big brand names. Remember we're still
- 28:55Speaker 4: in producing television and all sports are are definitely gearing
- 29:01Speaker 4: up and moving in a direction where they have that
- 29:04Speaker 4: flexibility to be able to bring you the biggest name,
- 29:08Speaker 4: the biggest match when they need to. In the NFL
- 29:11Speaker 4: they call it flex. They have that flex option in there.
- 29:15Speaker 4: That last kind of six weeks from like Thanksgiving on
- 29:20Speaker 4: to where the team we thought was going to be
- 29:24Speaker 4: ten and two rights four and eight. So we're going
- 29:28Speaker 4: to go over here to the other two more competitive
- 29:31Speaker 4: and I think that's the function of this match here, right.
- 29:35Speaker 7: You would go to the guide on your cable.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Subscriber service and it would say Seattle versus Indianapolis, But
- 29:45Speaker 3: now it'll say to be announced, and you just clicked
- 29:49Speaker 3: to the channel. You know a game is going to
- 29:51Speaker 3: be on, but you don't know exactly which one till
- 29:53Speaker 3: that morning.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Yeah, even when they put out schedules, they'll give you,
- 29:57Speaker 4: like the Auburn football schedule, and they may give you
- 30:01Speaker 4: the times and dates, but they give you the date,
- 30:04Speaker 4: but they might give you the time for the first
- 30:06Speaker 4: two three games, and then after that it starts being
- 30:10Speaker 4: you're gonna have to wait till the week up because
- 30:14Speaker 4: based on their records of both teams, is how I'm
- 30:17Speaker 4: gonna move them. If it's a noon game or is
- 30:21Speaker 4: it three point thirty, you know they move that. So
- 30:24Speaker 4: they give you the best product that matches to night.
- 30:27Speaker 4: The most interesting thing of the first week, well, one
- 30:30Speaker 4: of the most interesting things of the French Open is
- 30:34Speaker 4: Naomi Osaka and her wardrobe. She has been coming almost
- 30:40Speaker 4: doing a wardrobe change out on the court where she
- 30:44Speaker 4: comes out with her tennis outfit covered up in some
- 30:48Speaker 4: kind of gownwear. And what stood out for me is
- 30:53Speaker 4: not that that's what the pageantry in which she brings
- 30:56Speaker 4: is more of guys we just saw her in or
- 30:59Speaker 4: the last two three years be the first one to
- 31:04Speaker 4: not want to be in the media. She was one,
- 31:10Speaker 4: as we're going to talk about, wants to skip postmatch interview.
- 31:17Speaker 4: She always always has been kind of selling us how
- 31:22Speaker 4: the media is part. She doesn't like attension. But then
- 31:28Speaker 4: you're coming to the court right in these things, command you, Greg,
- 31:34Speaker 4: When you don't want like attention, you usually wear brown, gray, black,
- 31:40Speaker 4: navy things like that. When you want a little attention,
- 31:42Speaker 4: you wear bright colored neon and that kind of how
- 31:47Speaker 4: you see it, right? So where does this fit for Naomi?
- 31:55Speaker 7: Command you, Greg? You want to address that first? I
- 32:01Speaker 7: don't know.
- 32:02Speaker 8: I don't I don't know what. I don't know what
- 32:03Speaker 8: she's going for. Is it a rollout for for for
- 32:09Speaker 8: I think she's with Nike for those outfits.
- 32:13Speaker 7: This is look at me though, right? Or do I
- 32:15Speaker 7: have itro Have you seen she's calling it her court
- 32:20Speaker 7: tour reveal. Okay, but what your but this is look
- 32:24Speaker 7: at me, well.
- 32:26Speaker 3: And see for for for me sports jock uh commanded
- 32:31Speaker 3: Greg say he doesn't know what she's going for. H
- 32:33Speaker 3: I agree with you that it's not only saying look
- 32:39Speaker 3: at me, it's spectacle. You will look at me. I'm
- 32:44Speaker 3: not going to give you a choice to do anything
- 32:46Speaker 3: but stare me down. I am going to make myself
- 32:50Speaker 3: a distraction. And she's doing so knowing that the viewing public,
- 32:55Speaker 3: the media that covers her is bound by the sensibilities
- 33:01Speaker 3: that we just talked about that guy, the other player
- 33:04Speaker 3: find She knows that the media is not going to
- 33:09Speaker 3: be allowed during a post game press conference to quote
- 33:15Speaker 3: ta her ass up about this. Wait a minute. A
- 33:20Speaker 3: couple of matches ago, you was crying all in the
- 33:23Speaker 3: locker room talking about we were do in truth. If
- 33:26Speaker 3: you just want to kind of fade in the background
- 33:29Speaker 3: and be a regular, and then you come out here
- 33:32Speaker 3: dressed like a samurai soldier before a tennis match, and
- 33:38Speaker 3: then you want us to let that slide. And now
- 33:41Speaker 3: if you have a bad game, you're thinking you think
- 33:44Speaker 3: any of that had to do with your geisha girl,
- 33:46Speaker 3: And now you know, and now people are, oh, you're
- 33:48Speaker 3: so cruel, and she ought to be allowed to but
- 33:52Speaker 3: this ain't got nothing to do with tennis.
- 33:54Speaker 7: But what did this got to do with? What did
- 33:58Speaker 7: you call a collection?
- 34:00Speaker 1: They call it court.
- 34:01Speaker 7: Tour court court c.
- 34:04Speaker 3: O U R T like tennis court, like like co tour,
- 34:07Speaker 3: but put on that T like a play on network,
- 34:10Speaker 3: because why not just make it even worse than it
- 34:13Speaker 3: already is.
- 34:17Speaker 8: Or maybe she's doing other things so if she has
- 34:19Speaker 8: to do media, they'll ask her about, you know, the
- 34:24Speaker 8: the hat that she came in with, and do you
- 34:27Speaker 8: think that had anything to train from her? From the outfit?
- 34:31Speaker 8: So she's she's taking the approach of like arriving kind
- 34:36Speaker 8: of like how we maybe it's been forced on some people,
- 34:40Speaker 8: NBA players walking through the tunnel and in their outfits.
- 34:43Speaker 8: What was the boy to the tennis court?
- 34:46Speaker 6: Who was?
- 34:47Speaker 4: And all that is cool if without your earlier statements
- 34:51Speaker 4: about how you were protecting your mental health, she's she
- 34:55Speaker 4: missed one or two majors on things like that. She's
- 35:01Speaker 4: had press conferences about it as well. But then you
- 35:08Speaker 4: seem to be this is the epitome of what you
- 35:12Speaker 4: were talking about. So I don't get it so, but
- 35:17Speaker 4: good for her. I'm not saying don't if that's what
- 35:19Speaker 4: you're about to drop a line.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Of court tool.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I'm all I'm saying is we got to come to
- 35:26Speaker 3: a point where we're not gonna have it both ways.
- 35:30Speaker 3: We can't have a vegan beef burger. It's just it's
- 35:35Speaker 3: not possible. So stop selling me that. If you don't
- 35:39Speaker 3: want to be bothered, then go away and sit out
- 35:42Speaker 3: and be quiet. Stop coming out dressed in a Scooby
- 35:48Speaker 3: Doo outfit and then talking about you don't want to
- 35:51Speaker 3: talk about cartoons. You just you're making life hard. That's
- 35:56Speaker 3: all I'm saying. Life ain't got to be this difficult.
- 35:58Speaker 4: Well, tonight she has a difficult cool match against them
- 36:01Speaker 4: one in the world or runya cyblenka uh the onasaka.
- 36:06Speaker 7: That will be tonight.
- 36:09Speaker 4: Over in Rolling Garrels, as they roll into their last week,
- 36:16Speaker 4: Francis Tia Folk and Jamie Faria of Portugal got into
- 36:22Speaker 4: a little word play at the net. Tia photoed Faria
- 36:30Speaker 4: that you aren't hard, bro. Have you ever seen two
- 36:35Speaker 4: tennis players fight? Have we ever witnessed that.
- 36:40Speaker 3: At the at the at the you know, at the
- 36:43Speaker 3: net I don't think I've ever because it's it's it's
- 36:46Speaker 3: one of those like weapons.
- 36:49Speaker 7: It's a gentleman's sport. It's supposed to be. But I
- 36:52Speaker 7: don't think i've seen. But we've seen them. I've seen them.
- 36:57Speaker 3: We've seen them super angry, breaking stuff and screaming, but
- 37:01Speaker 3: we've never seen him.
- 37:02Speaker 4: I've ever seen now, I've never seen him. Fistical interesting,
- 37:06Speaker 4: but you ain't hard, Bro. I didn't even know they
- 37:08Speaker 4: even talked like that. And bro, Bro, well, I wonder
- 37:13Speaker 4: if you understood that's another exactly. That's what we don't
- 37:18Speaker 4: in our mind. Everything is the American way.
- 37:21Speaker 3: But coaches talked to players hard from Portugal, so he
- 37:26Speaker 3: speaks Portuguese in the United States.
- 37:29Speaker 4: He might not really know what's a very respided like
- 37:32Speaker 4: you see what he's saying.
- 37:33Speaker 7: So I don't know. Maybe he might have misinterpreted the
- 37:36Speaker 7: whole thing I just said, I've never seen.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Well, maybe maybe they watch a lot of American football
- 37:44Speaker 3: and they thought it was a good thing because you're
- 37:46Speaker 3: not the coach is talk you.
- 37:47Speaker 7: Stupid, I'll knock you out.
- 37:49Speaker 3: You ain't hard, you stupid, And they go, wow, okay,
- 37:51Speaker 3: do you hear what he's saying?
- 37:52Speaker 7: He thinks I'm cool.
- 37:53Speaker 4: We'll be back with the NBA Finals coming up on Wednesday.
- 37:57Speaker 4: Talk a Little wimby Caitlyn Clark or Naomi Osaka. We'll

- 40:33Speaker 3: the middle school athletes that are repeating the eighth grade
- 40:39Speaker 3: for athletic age.
- 40:42Speaker 7: This is something I've I do.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Or have had knowledge of as far as or a
- 40:51Speaker 4: lot of school systems around the country. You you know
- 40:58Speaker 4: where you can pick to whether based on your birthday
- 41:05Speaker 4: when your birthday falls like late August or September or
- 41:10Speaker 4: something like that. You can either go back a grade
- 41:13Speaker 4: or you can go be a young person moving up,
- 41:21Speaker 4: So you're almost a year behind the kids. You're on
- 41:27Speaker 4: that fringe.
- 41:30Speaker 7: Do they call it reclassification? Is that what it is?
- 41:37Speaker 7: With this? What's going on?
- 41:39Speaker 8: It's not that, I mean, that's another thing where they
- 41:42Speaker 8: you know, move up. Or it could be if they repeat,
- 41:48Speaker 8: like voluntarily repeat a grade and then they could go
- 41:53Speaker 8: reclassify to the class that they were supposed to graduate
- 41:57Speaker 8: with in the first place. You may see that. But
- 42:01Speaker 8: with this, like I have the clip here, this is
- 42:04Speaker 8: from Good Play the clip.
- 42:07Speaker 20: And freshman is now emerging among eighth graders. A growing

- 42:28Speaker 21: grades up, little lady, or you're gonna repeat eighth grade?
- 42:31Speaker 21: Well now some thirteen year olds are doing it by choice,
- 42:34Speaker 21: hoping to get into a better school. A bigger scholarship
- 42:37Speaker 21: or more nil money.
- 42:41Speaker 4: So basically, these young kids should be moving on to
- 42:47Speaker 4: the ninth grade, but are staying in the eighth grade. Now,
- 42:51Speaker 4: why do they have that option?
- 42:53Speaker 7: Uh? And now sports? Y.
- 42:55Speaker 3: I'm surprised that we're just now talking about this because
- 42:59Speaker 3: I think it was the twenty twenty five twenty four
- 43:04Speaker 3: school year that I became aware of this when my wife,
- 43:08Speaker 3: who is a middle school teacher, told me about parents
- 43:13Speaker 3: who had.
- 43:15Speaker 7: She said, reclassified their child.
- 43:18Speaker 3: And it confused me because it broke down to the
- 43:21Speaker 3: child being held back, and I was like, why would
- 43:24Speaker 3: they hold it? And they said it's because to for sports,
- 43:28Speaker 3: and I was like, but you would want. Most of
- 43:30Speaker 3: these kids are going to college early, but being held back. Now,
- 43:34Speaker 3: I'm what we just heard here a ninth grader technically
- 43:39Speaker 3: playing against eighth grader, so I'm more dominant and it
- 43:42Speaker 3: gets me seen more. And that's I didn't understand it then,
- 43:47Speaker 3: but the way they just explained it now helped me
- 43:50Speaker 3: connect to their trying to give their kid better footage,
- 43:55Speaker 3: better highlight film by putting them against talent that they
- 43:58Speaker 3: think isn't as proficient.
- 44:02Speaker 7: Yes, I understand why they're doing it. Right.
- 44:05Speaker 4: I'm trying to figure out how they how are they
- 44:08Speaker 4: doing it, because the only time I've known about being
- 44:10Speaker 4: able to move back is based on birthdays, like when
- 44:15Speaker 4: a lot of kids' birthdays who were born in the
- 44:17Speaker 4: same year as the class they're with. Sometimes when you're
- 44:21Speaker 4: born in October November, the parents have the option of
- 44:26Speaker 4: not putting you with the current class. And I believe,
- 44:31Speaker 4: and you can and you go back. So you are,
- 44:34Speaker 4: and technically you will be nine ten months older than
- 44:40Speaker 4: your classmates instead of being eight nine months behind the
- 44:46Speaker 4: class you was supposed to be with. But I don't
- 44:48Speaker 4: know how I voluntarily get to go back. I know
- 44:52Speaker 4: how we can reclassify and go forward well, And I think.
- 44:56Speaker 7: That was the big controversy was.
- 45:00Speaker 3: To technically to be held back, there had to be
- 45:05Speaker 3: some sort of deficiency as a student or some sort
- 45:10Speaker 3: of medical situation that held you out of school. So
- 45:14Speaker 3: the parents were manipulating those types of situations. I'm gonna
- 45:18Speaker 3: keep my kid out of school. They're not gonna turn
- 45:20Speaker 3: in assignments to the point where you're forced to repeat
- 45:24Speaker 3: this grade by law because you didn't do the necessary work,
- 45:29Speaker 3: or yeah, my kid was real sick. Now he got
- 45:32Speaker 3: a personal trainer, but he wasn't well enough to go
- 45:35Speaker 3: to school, so he's gonna have to reclassify. And it's
- 45:39Speaker 3: you know, they manipulate the ages and all of those
- 45:42Speaker 3: things that are hopefully to give them a better shot
- 45:46Speaker 3: at getting these lucrative nil deals.
- 45:51Speaker 4: So now we are moving back and not forward, because
- 45:56Speaker 4: you commonly hear eleventh grader reclassify himself as a senior. Yeah,
- 46:04Speaker 4: I haven't really heard where a senior had the ability
- 46:07Speaker 4: to move himself back.
- 46:09Speaker 3: We heard where you can move I'm not going to
- 46:11Speaker 3: finish my fourth year. I'm going to go straight to the.
- 46:14Speaker 8: Couple of times a J. Debonta, who could be the
- 46:18Speaker 8: first pick in this upcoming NBA draft.
- 46:21Speaker 7: Uh he he he did.
- 46:24Speaker 8: He went through this by repeating the eighth grade so
- 46:31Speaker 8: that he would And now it's.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Going to and it's particularly to the eighth grade. That's
- 46:36Speaker 4: what I'm saying. I never heard of senior get to
- 46:39Speaker 4: go and say I'm not a senior, I'm a junior.
- 46:42Speaker 8: It's not even it may not necessarily be just that
- 46:45Speaker 8: eighth grade.
- 46:45Speaker 7: There are.
- 46:47Speaker 8: Because it reminded me of the there's a clip that
- 46:49Speaker 8: we have about the we talked about the pre first
- 46:52Speaker 8: grade where you found out about that where some parents
- 46:55Speaker 8: will hold their kids back.
- 46:58Speaker 7: To repeat kindergarten. And then so it could be for
- 47:06Speaker 7: the kid to be.
- 47:09Speaker 8: More socially adept or to you know, to mature or
- 47:14Speaker 8: in that way, or it could be for athletic.
- 47:17Speaker 7: Reasons, but it could it could be at any time.
- 47:19Speaker 8: See, and those other end at the high school level,
- 47:22Speaker 8: because now nil is in play.
- 47:25Speaker 3: And those are the nuances I was talking about that
- 47:28Speaker 3: the parents are manipulating, and to give them chance to
- 47:31Speaker 3: mature more, give them a chance to develop socially, are
- 47:34Speaker 3: the things that they're taking to the administration. But in
- 47:38Speaker 3: my desire to make him develop and be more mature,
- 47:42Speaker 3: I still want him to play varsity.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Well, we have to do a little resurgency. If you
- 47:46Speaker 4: was you in high school, that's what I'm saying. I've
- 47:48Speaker 4: never heard of a high school player being able to
- 47:50Speaker 4: move back. I haven't either. I haven't, and again, my
- 47:53Speaker 4: life to me to move forward. But I've never heard
- 47:56Speaker 4: of a high school a tenth grader saying, oh no,
- 48:01Speaker 4: I'm not I'm just gonna repeat the tenth grade.
- 48:04Speaker 8: The closest is the after a they've gone through high school,
- 48:08Speaker 8: they'll do like that extra year like that of some
- 48:12Speaker 8: kind of prep school before going on to college. But
- 48:17Speaker 8: we could just look at that as more of a
- 48:19Speaker 8: Juco esque situation.
- 48:21Speaker 3: I'm scause most of them don't even really go to
- 48:23Speaker 3: traditional high schools anymore. It's like overtime elite and places
- 48:27Speaker 3: like that, these academies.
- 48:28Speaker 7: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 48:54Speaker 9: Don't Go awayne Board of the Sports John Show with
- 48:56Speaker 9: Wayne Gambias coming up next.
- 49:00Speaker 11: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 49:02Speaker 11: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 49:04Speaker 11: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 49:07Speaker 11: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 49:10Speaker 11: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home.
- 49:12Speaker 12: Hey, hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 49:16Speaker 12: may ask if there are any unlocked guns in your home.
- 49:19Speaker 13: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 49:22Speaker 13: the kids can't access.
- 49:24Speaker 7: Awesome.

- 49:38Speaker 1: Mom. We are so high up.

- 50:47Speaker 14: Wal two coptics and almost stage at Live Aid, all
- 50:53Speaker 14: the people, games and speakause a.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Welcome back to the swar shock Shah the what shock
- 51:09Speaker 4: Wayne can the good morning to you out there listening,
- 51:12Speaker 4: Land Uh, Victor Women Yama Caitlin Clark. Right now, those
- 51:18Speaker 4: two names are the most the biggest names UH in
- 51:23Speaker 4: their prospective sport when you talk about Victor now taking
- 51:29Speaker 4: the Spurs after twelve years to the NBA finals or
- 51:32Speaker 4: the young man in his third year being able to
- 51:34Speaker 4: do that.
- 51:35Speaker 12: Uh.
- 51:36Speaker 4: And Caitlin Clark, who has really thrust the w n
- 51:41Speaker 4: B A into a new order. When you talk about
- 51:47Speaker 4: in her three years, viewership is up. Also, ticket sales
- 51:54Speaker 4: are up. Also, notoriety is up. Also money for the
- 52:00Speaker 4: players is up. All in her three year being at
- 52:05Speaker 4: the w NBA. She's struggling right now, which is odd,
- 52:13Speaker 4: not that she's struggling, but because we call her struggling
- 52:20Speaker 4: not living up to what we see as the standard.
- 52:22Speaker 4: She's still top five in scoring the WNBA, she's number one,
- 52:25Speaker 4: sister leader and the WNBA. But for her standards we
- 52:31Speaker 4: say struggling. It's amazing. Her struggle is player number three's
- 52:38Speaker 4: career numbers. Right, I lead the league and assists and
- 52:41Speaker 4: I'm top five in scoring and you say I'm having
- 52:44Speaker 4: a bad year. But for her standard it is Victim
- 52:47Speaker 4: women Yamba after a tough loss about two weeks ago.
- 52:50Speaker 4: Same thing we talked about Naomi Osaka. And it's different
- 52:55Speaker 4: is these you know gen Z players and we've seen
- 53:01Speaker 4: a lot of them skip interviews. It's happening to Caitlyn
- 53:06Speaker 4: Clark after frustrating loss last week, Victor, as I said,
- 53:10Speaker 4: Naomi we've talked about, and there's other names as well
- 53:13Speaker 4: that have just skipped interviews postgame interviews, guys, just is
- 53:21Speaker 4: that that component where the old schools are talking about
- 53:27Speaker 4: they feel this missing in the new generation, that kind
- 53:31Speaker 4: of mental toughness to be able to absorb because all
- 53:35Speaker 4: three of these people are under tremendous pressures at young age, Victor, women,
- 53:39Speaker 4: Yamba is like twenty one, as old as you think,
- 53:43Speaker 4: as familiar you with Caitlyn Clark, she's like twenty four,
- 53:48Speaker 4: twenty five years old. Most of you and most of
- 53:52Speaker 4: us are still coddling our kids at that age. You know,
- 53:56Speaker 4: they're coming by and washing their clothes at your house
- 53:58Speaker 4: at twenty five. These three people of Naomi's only about
- 54:02Speaker 4: what twenty six right in there, so just getting around
- 54:07Speaker 4: to renting rental cards without penalties. But is that that component,
- 54:11Speaker 4: guys that we're just been There's a certain mental that
- 54:17Speaker 4: participation trophy idea that just shows up in these kind
- 54:22Speaker 4: of times where they we've kind of.
- 54:27Speaker 7: Deflected how they're going to have to discrutiny.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Well, I want to ask generally, as far back as
- 54:37Speaker 3: a Marshawn Lynch, I became aware of the fact that
- 54:41Speaker 3: the postgame press conference is something that is mandatory. Generally,
- 54:45Speaker 3: you have to make yourself available to the media, and
- 54:47Speaker 3: if you don't, there's some sort of fine.
- 54:49Speaker 7: Correct you just said that.
- 54:51Speaker 3: In Caitlyn Clark's three year tenure in the WNBA, the
- 54:56Speaker 3: money has increased for the players significantly over the years.
- 55:00Speaker 3: We've talked about how the money has increased significantly for
- 55:03Speaker 3: these players, to the point where I don't know what
- 55:06Speaker 3: the fine for missing a postgame interview is.
- 55:09Speaker 7: But I remember.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Ricky Williams used to do his postgame interviews with his
- 55:14Speaker 3: helmet on and his dark face mask, and people said
- 55:17Speaker 3: that that was very distracting and it put people off.
- 55:22Speaker 3: And then later he came out and confessed that he
- 55:24Speaker 3: had anxiety, but he had to contractually do these interviews.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Some people ain't making what Ricky Williams was making. So
- 55:33Speaker 3: I'm gonna do to interview because I can't afford a
- 55:35Speaker 3: fifteen to twenty thousand dollars fine every time I get
- 55:38Speaker 3: nervous in front of people. Now, the money has increased,
- 55:41Speaker 3: I make more money. There's a report Shadur Sanders make
- 55:44Speaker 3: more money than all the players with just the sales
- 55:47Speaker 3: of his jersey. So with all of these other income streams,
- 55:51Speaker 3: I can afford to prioritize my mental health. Maybe players
- 55:58Speaker 3: have struggled since the game began, with the getting in
- 56:02Speaker 3: front of people, having had a heart loss, struggling with
- 56:06Speaker 3: my emotions, struggling with the feelings about my performance and
- 56:10Speaker 3: how I should have done better. I've got all of
- 56:12Speaker 3: this going on inside me. But I got to talk
- 56:15Speaker 3: to these people because I ain't finna pay them thirty
- 56:17Speaker 3: thousand dollars for not talking to them. But I'm gonna
- 56:19Speaker 3: just go home and get drunk and maybe jump on
- 56:21Speaker 3: my kids, or maybe I'm gonna go home and I'm
- 56:24Speaker 3: gonna get into a fight at a bar later because
- 56:27Speaker 3: somebody said something that a reporter said to me, And
- 56:30Speaker 3: if I could have avoided that question, it would have
- 56:32Speaker 3: never happen. And I'm not excusing that they may need
- 56:36Speaker 3: a higher degree of mental toughness and that all of
- 56:38Speaker 3: these fleas come with the dog that they've chosen. But
- 56:42Speaker 3: still are some of them just saying, you know what
- 56:47Speaker 3: it's worth? It to me to not have to add
- 56:53Speaker 3: this to my struggle to add something you said about
- 56:56Speaker 3: the way you feel about me and my You ain't
- 56:59Speaker 3: never played the game, and you just said something about
- 57:02Speaker 3: my lack of effort. And you know what, man, I'm
- 57:05Speaker 3: not gonna go through this with you today. Take the
- 57:07Speaker 3: thirty thousand dollars. I'm going to my car.
- 57:11Speaker 7: Do you ever think that it could possibly be that?
- 57:14Speaker 8: I think so, And I think I would also add
- 57:16Speaker 8: that there are more there are more eyes and more
- 57:22Speaker 8: voices with the advent of social media, where like everyone
- 57:27Speaker 8: feels like they it's you know users seven three eight
- 57:32Speaker 8: nine three says, uh, you know Naomi didn't show any
- 57:36Speaker 8: kind of effort today Aside from that reporter, right, some
- 57:41Speaker 8: some random social media userly gonna say the same thing,
- 57:44Speaker 8: and it's something that they the athletes, may pay attention
- 57:48Speaker 8: to more or may even value more in some capacity.
- 57:52Speaker 4: That then why then why have social media? See the
- 57:56Speaker 4: toughness that you're trying to avoid comes from the idea
- 58:00Speaker 4: that I don't really owe you anything. The toughness is
- 58:04Speaker 4: your opinion really doesn't matter. The toughness draws the line
- 58:09Speaker 4: that you speaking it's irrelevant. But the toughness means I
- 58:15Speaker 4: go to the podium stay relevant. Oh I'm still shooting
- 58:19Speaker 4: the ball. You don't have to chase fame. All you
- 58:23Speaker 4: got to do is score the ball. Now, we talked
- 58:26Speaker 4: about that. Well, you just have hold on now. He
- 58:29Speaker 4: just asked me, how do you stay famous? I wouldn't.
- 58:35Speaker 4: I didn't tell you I wanted to be famous. You
- 58:38Speaker 4: made me famous. I was just shooting the ball. There
- 58:44Speaker 4: are fame chasers who lived their life to get fame
- 58:50Speaker 4: from what they're doing, but namely something that Caitlyn Clark
- 58:53Speaker 4: has done in her career or Whimby so far that
- 58:56Speaker 4: made you feel like they was chasing the fame.
- 58:59Speaker 3: No, I'm saying sports Jack is they're not chasing the fame.
- 59:02Speaker 3: But we talked about the ten year mindset shift with uh.
- 59:07Speaker 4: We'll be back. We'll talk about it on the side
- 59:09Speaker 4: of break. More to the Sports Jock Show, I need to.
- 59:16Speaker 19: Take that new back catch all attack because they's nothing
- 59:19Speaker 19: in the world that run the level of cold till bore.

- 1:00:10Speaker 18: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own

- 1:00:54Speaker 2: You May, I'm gonna go on the way.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Welcome back to this one. Shock Shaw, I'm the one
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Shock Wayne Candy. Happy Monday to you out there and
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: listening Land. Glad to be here with you on this
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: first day of June.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: As we move into the madness of the World Cup,
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: this month is finally arriving. We will get deeper into
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: it as the month comes around. But we left off
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: talking about skipping interviews some of the younger generations, and
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: over time we've had different people miss interviews. So these
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: aren't the first three, won't be the last three. It
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: just seems to be a mindset, and especially when two
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: of the biggest faces of their sport right now Victor
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: Women Yamba with the NBA, Caitlin Clark with the w
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: n and as we mentioned, Naomi Osaka. And if Greg
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: did a quick dive he could find four or five
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: other people who skipped interviews here in the last couple
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: of months. It seems to be centered around a certain
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: age group. And that's why I had mentioned, for you know,
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: most of those three, I think maybe Osaka is the oldest,
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: and she's probably only about twenty six, twenty seven years old,
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: twenty eight, twenty eight, Okay, years old, so Caplan about
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: twenty four to twenty five victim Women Yamba twenty one,
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: twenty two years old, skipping interviews both the women Yama
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: and Caplin Clark after bad games and the mental stress
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: of being able to handle the media. Now, this generation
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: has different than thirty years ago, with the advent of
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: social media and the idea that some person you've never
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: met mindset ideas you need to And I'm not a
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: social media guy to what most of the time you
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: would have to say about me. I only know at
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: the time I'm airing. So when I do different shows
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: and we look up things and comments, and if I
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: do another show, the comments of which you would have
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: about whatever I said, I would only know at the
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: time I'm doing the show. The other five days a week,
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: six days a week, I wouldn't have an idea. Most
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: people listen to scrutinize. They the whole you too. You
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: said three, Oh see, you got that wrong?
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: It was four.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: Why that is a thing with people, I don't know
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: where they think every moment, being on something, being in
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: something does not take away that you are still human
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: and can make an error. It's just like watching referees
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: because the guy says he's a referee doesn't mean that every.
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: Call he was gonna get right. He may not even
- 1:04:14Speaker 7: know all the rules.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: It could not, It may not be.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: But I know what these three they're skipped out that
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Kenny was asking, is it I guess, is it a lie? Well,
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: I'm saying we give them that that grace. And see
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: when we.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: Talked about the tennis player and the sensibilities of where
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: he was from, these athletes only know a time where
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: being liked and being relevant on social media was priority.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: That is, long before they knew that they would be
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Caitlyn Clark and Wimby, long before she the Naomi Osaka.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: They cared about being liked and relevant to their friends
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: on social media. So then the sport made them more relevant.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: And now the sport is sort of secondary to the relevance.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: I could keep shooting and be having Well we're talking
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: about skipping media day. Well, I'm saying the reason I
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: skipped media day ain't really because I'm mad about What's
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: going to be said at the press conference. I'm trying
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: to process all the negative stuff I'm finna see on
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: my timeline. And now it's easy for you to say
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: don't look at that stuff. Why do you have social media?
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: But I've had social media since I was seven.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: Yeah, but when I played, the social media was the media.
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: And I'm giving you all I can give you is
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: the reference of what I would have had. Social media
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: was just the newspaper to write articles. It wasn't the world,
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: but it so. I didn't watch sports during the season.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: I never watched Sports Center. I never picked up a
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: paper good game or bad. I never tap into any
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: of that. I really don't care. You don't do anything.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: You're never going to applaud me more than you're gonna
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: tear me down. And so all I'm saying, if I'm
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: advising any of them, why do you care what somebody thinks?
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: And for me, I take it away from the caring
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: what other people think. I've always blamed it on sportsmanship.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Is that something that we're not teaching anymore? We've seen
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: people getting the fights in the handshake line. It used
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: to be weigh in and lose with dignity.
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: I blame it on that we expect these people to
- 1:06:52Speaker 7: interview too much.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: I did the pregame, I did the court. Yeah, I
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: did the side of the game. I did the lead
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: up to and now the game is over and you
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: got you got another question, Yes, access to all the time.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: I've interviewed this coach four times today for this game,
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: for this one game, and right and now you're asking
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: me the same question after the lost.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: Before the game, in the first half, in the second
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: half up to date, play to play. I was telling
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: you about the one game where they put the headphones
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: on the young lady, Sophie Conningham on the bench. Yeah,
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: when she checked out, I put it on the bench.
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: I was Doug about the interview. What do you think
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: about that?
- 1:07:42Speaker 23: Last?
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: I was going to ask you have you seen that
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: with baseball?
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: I saw at the college World Series is going on
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: and they've got a player in the dugout with the
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: major leagues.
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: The Braves are playing Cincinnati Reds.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: They've got a player who just got off the field, like, well,
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: I think it's the game's gonna be good.
- 1:08:02Speaker 8: And I don't know if they do it anymore, but
- 1:08:05Speaker 8: they have where the player is in the game, like
- 1:08:08Speaker 8: it was a third baseman and they're like interviewing him
- 1:08:12Speaker 8: at a groundball got hit to him, And so are.
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: We pushing the mental toughness line? Are we moving that
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: it used to be. Yeah, I had to read it
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: and be concerned with the people in Pittsburgh. But now
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: after the the game, the postgame conference, you're on some Hey,
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: my name is Franz Heckler from the German Tribune. We
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: in Buffalo and you reporting for the German Tribune. So
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: now them people got something to say about me.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: It's all intrusive. And that's where you know, we'll talk
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: about it. You know, we'll move on, and I'm quite
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: sure to come up again. All the way back a
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: couple of tournaments ago with Cocoa Golf, when she slammed
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: her racket after she walked off, and I'm like, well,
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: how far she has to have to go to be
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: emotional before she She's doing the best she can.
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: She didn't know what doing on the court. She didn't
- 1:09:06Speaker 7: do it in the first tunnel. Now I'm up in
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: the rail and I gotta let it out.
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: There's another camera and there's another camera. Hold on, I
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: thought I was in the safe zone. It's almost like
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: they need to put, you know, a marker up like
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: okay when you get here.
- 1:09:24Speaker 7: But I gotta act robotic.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: So when I really thought about it, I thought about
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: the over the intrusiveness of how everything.
- 1:09:34Speaker 23: Is.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: And even that's what I'm saying. Imagine Caitlin Clark, who
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: is not having you know, what we would as her standard,
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: but she's like fourth in the league in scoring and
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: first in assists.
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: You think Naomi Osaka's what she's doing with her colt tour.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: Court tour is like a trauma response. Y'all gonna follow me,
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: so I'm gonna give you something. You want a spectacle, Well,
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: here it is this what you've been looking fun.
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'm okay, but as you said doing that segment,
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: but you got to pick a side now on I'm
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: okay with you wearing the gowns. I'm okay with the
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Dennis Rodman approach. But Dennis Rodman didn't come back. He
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: was the worm in Detroit, and then once he went
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: through that phase that he embraced it, he never went
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: back to some kind of apologetic He went and married hisself.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and whatever he went, we're talking about how man
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: I was going through it when I married myself. I
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: really couldn't pull myself together. But he didn't come out
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: with like, y'all need to leave me alone, him and
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: his self dealt with it.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: And that's the thing. Don't go You don't get to
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: do both. I can respect either way you're on, but
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: the thing of oh, I don't want you in my
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: personal business, then don't pull me in.
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: Right right.
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: Out there.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: You're not on social media, so you never see the
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: post that goes. I don't want to talk about it,
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: but I just need prayer right now. And what do
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: you mean you don't want to talk about it. Why
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: am I gonna pray for you? And I don't know
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: what I'm praying for. So you know, people do now
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: respect my family's privacy, but please pray for us what
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: we didn't even know to pray or that anything was
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: private till you posted it.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: So and guys and people like a Shade, Gilchris Alexander
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: in the league and the MVP has won a championship,
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: handles itself in a professional way, minimizes what he at
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: least can control to put out there, so we're not
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: deep into his business business like that. But other players
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: that might be equal even less at his level, keep
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: putting things.
- 1:11:51Speaker 8: You think it's an accountability thing, Like with Shade, he
- 1:11:57Speaker 8: was interviewed after the game, and then I think had
- 1:12:00Speaker 8: their exit interview yesterday, and he would he they asked
- 1:12:07Speaker 8: him the you know, he took the tough questions and
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: but they're at But then also they're asking about other
- 1:12:15Speaker 8: players that we have not necessarily heard from, not that
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: I've seen, Like, you know, Chet didn't have a good
- 1:12:22Speaker 8: game seven, What did we they did they talk to
- 1:12:26Speaker 8: him or you know, so it's taking the being accountable for,
- 1:12:32Speaker 8: you know, losing or however the performance was. That is
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: what maybe some at some points Caitlyn Clark or Victor
- 1:12:41Speaker 8: would avoid or name we would avoid.
- 1:12:44Speaker 7: Well, I think to.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: Answer those kinds of questions, Naomi really doesn't have. All
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: of Naomi's outcome depends on her. But I understand what
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: you're saying is like SGA, I got to get up
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: and answer questions about why Chet had off game. You know,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: why don't y'all asked Chi those questions? But nobody wants
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: to talk to Chick because he wasn't m v P.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: So I gotta sit here and account for having lost
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: and you weren't a good enough leader for Chet or
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: something like that when I know that Chet just partied
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: too hard last night.
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: So we'll be back on the sports Jock show right
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: after this got.
- 1:13:25Speaker 9: From me.
- 1:13:28Speaker 19: Jack.

- 1:22:02Speaker 3: And if they did, and if they did, you know,
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: the child protection people opened up investigation for a minute.
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: She got to school sonz Zazzi beat. Oh yeah, ya,
- 1:22:14Speaker 7: we got we got a file. The National Spelling Bee
- 1:22:17Speaker 7: was last week.
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: Uh Sray Perique, fourteen year old young lady won the
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: National Spelling Bee. I question to you guys, just real quickly,
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: are you surprised that they even still have this in
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: a time of AI where they don't even teach writing
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: in twenty twenty six, Really, they don't teach cursive they
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: don't want you to and a kid wouldn't know how
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: to put a step on an envelope.
- 1:22:50Speaker 7: On like none of that.
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: And then I think it's interesting because of I wonder
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: about the security measures that have had to change and
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: be modified and grow with the technology, because now they've
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: got the glasses, they've got the ear pieces, they've got
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: all of this technology that could help you because what
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: fifty thousand dollars checks is some parents would hey, you
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: know that's worth cheating. So there's all of this stuff
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: that you probably have to do in advance to make
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: sure that these kids are just up there with their
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: own minds doing this spelling that I'm surprised they still
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: do it.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just surprised because it seems that the basic
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: of education we've dismissed to AI everything of knowing, we
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: don't even test. And the only thing about that that
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: kills me is we are the inventors, so we're the
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: people who put but we have decided the foundation.
- 1:23:52Speaker 7: Is no longer needed. So little things like that always is.
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: But it's interesting, why why I spent of class teaching
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: you how to write or spell when I can just
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: teach you how to talk to the computer. But this
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: is the thing the I know it was one the
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: last time you use the pen comntion. Just how often
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: do you yesterday, Big Kenny using one? Now, Yes, that's
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: what I'm saying.
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: But this is the thing I know that I got
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: two girls in college right now. They both make the
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: Dean's list. Shout out to that. But they'll take tests,
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: and the test will be remote. But it has a
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: fail safe that prevents you from researching anything during the
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: test or using some sort of AI assistance, like if
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: you use something, it'll block the test or stop it
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: or something like that. And so I guess they're trying
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: to keep up with the technology. But still I wonder
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: is it going to be fool proof.
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: I don't understand remote testing either, because you're blocking this computer.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: But who says the computer not on the floor right?
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: Who says I don't have somebody underneath this table?
- 1:25:07Speaker 7: Yeah, and it it just has to be the AI
- 1:25:15Speaker 7: can scan the room. I don't know.
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: It just has to be cage. I got wires all
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: around me. We'll be back more to Sports Duck Show
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: right after this.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: I'm sad, but I'm laughing.
- 1:25:31Speaker 9: Don't go away board of the sports Josh Hill with
- 1:25:34Speaker 9: Wayne Damtidias coming up next.
- 1:25:37Speaker 23: I'm a pretty great multitasker. I can wash dishes and
- 1:25:41Speaker 23: do laundry. I can roller skate while walking my dogs.
- 1:25:44Speaker 23: I can even order lunch while doing my homework. But
- 1:25:47Speaker 23: I can't use my phone while driving. A distracted driver
- 1:25:51Speaker 23: is one of the leading causes of death in the
- 1:25:53Speaker 23: United States. So when it comes to driving, please don't
- 1:25:56Speaker 23: be a multitasker.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:25:59Speaker 16: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:26:01Speaker 16: Safety Administration, Project yellow Light and the AD Council.
- 1:26:07Speaker 26: Hurting the game, We tough it out, feel exhausted, we
- 1:26:11Speaker 26: push on feeling down. We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps.
- 1:26:17Speaker 26: But there are times when bootstraps aren't enough, when stress
- 1:26:20Speaker 26: gets to us and we need to talk to someone
- 1:26:22Speaker 26: about what we're really going through. So we're going to
- 1:26:25Speaker 26: reach out because sometimes mental health.
- 1:26:28Speaker 7: Is not a one person job. Is it Love your
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: Mind Today dot org? That's Love your Mind Today dot org?
- 1:26:33Speaker 26: Brought to you by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and
- 1:26:36Speaker 26: the Head Counsel.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: And now back to the Sports Job. Wayne Gandy.
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: Players lounge have been given full access to the player's
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:27:05Speaker 7: On this stage.
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: But I want you to know what.
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: And when I say who's out, you don't know what
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: time it is?
- 1:27:16Speaker 7: Who look back to this what shock show? I'm just
- 1:27:24Speaker 7: what shock?
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: Wayne can d A roast of Kevin Hart has had
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: a lot of controversy here over the last week. I
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: don't know if it's Kevin Hart and the powers that
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: be at Netflix UH that have started this UH idea
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: of this roast, it seems that, you know, to draw
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: people to go watch it. I have not watched the roast.
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: I had heard of it, and a lot of the
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: controversy came last week, at least from a joke about
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: George Floyd. It seems like any time a comedian does
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: any kind of special now the world just looks for
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: that one joke that they just didn't agree on, and
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: they harp on that. They don't really tell you whether
- 1:28:07Speaker 4: the roast or the comedic show was funny or anything.
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: They just tell you about the one thing they found
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: offensive in the kind of they skit, which used to
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: be something that really rolled off of people's back to
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: a degree, but we take it to be personal shots
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: a lot of times. And out of this roast, Stephen A. Smith,
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: the number one sports face in this country, has takenception
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: to a joke that Kevin Hart made doing the roast
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: The Roast.
- 1:28:50Speaker 27: Of Kevin Hart special on Netflix, Kevin Hart made a
- 1:28:56Speaker 27: pointed joke about his personal Mount rush More of racism
- 1:29:06Speaker 27: unless the people he claims hate black people. Alongside Jane
- 1:29:14Speaker 27: Shane Gillis, Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Hard included my name,
- 1:29:26Speaker 27: Stephen A.
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: Smith, that is Stephen A Smith not liking that. Kevin
- 1:29:33Speaker 4: Hart during the roast put him on the mount rushmore
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: of people who hate black people alone with who, he said,
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: hok Hogan, who's passed away Kid Rock and Shane Gillis
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: o'k hogan kid Rock for their stances, I guess with
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: the Republican Party have been people that.
- 1:30:03Speaker 7: Seemed to.
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: Brand get that brand for me, and I don't, as
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: Big Kenny pointed out, commands Greg, I'm not a big
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: social media guy. I don't pay a lot of attention
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: to that. I do know that until recently, neither one
- 1:30:21Speaker 4: of these two performers had that mark. Oak Hogan didn't
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: have the racist mark as far as I know, in
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: the eighties, nineties, early two thousands, no people would let
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: their kid go to wrestling and watch and be Hulk
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: Hogan kid Rock. He just was kind of like the
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: trailer guy kind of rocker, so it didn't really know
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: him to be. I didn't see them really shift any
- 1:31:01Speaker 4: and you never know what somebody has in their heart,
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: but they did become where people kind of put them
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: as a face because they supported the current president. Don't
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: know much about Shane Gillis, but stephen A taking offense
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: that Kevin Hart would put him on the mount rushmore
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: of hating black people. Big Kenny is in the comedic world.
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: That's what he has made his mark in life. Command
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: Craig is an up and coming, inspiring comedian. We have
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: talked about here. We make jokes and as I said
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: when I started, it used to be people could roll
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: with the punches of jokes. That seems to have fallen
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: to the wayside, and Kevin Hart being asked to answer
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: to stephen A Smith for making this joke about stephen A.
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: And I would imagine he manifests this through how stephen
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: A's point throughout his commentary on television comes across.
- 1:32:10Speaker 7: I don't know him.
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: I know there's been reports about him in the political
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: I aultly know what he usually says through sports, I don't.
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: I don't know much about the political part. I've never
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: watched the stephen A show other than times we use clips.
- 1:32:25Speaker 7: But I'm not a big you know.
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: My only part with stephen A is not even him
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: as a media guy covering sports. There is a step
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: he goes too far sometimes where he steps into the realm,
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: where almost he forgot You've never taken the shot. And
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: there's a there's a difference in tone and voice and
- 1:32:47Speaker 4: verbiage two different people. That's why he's in it with
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: Jalen Brown, and he's been in with it with different guys.
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: And and that's where, just like he feels, Kevin Hart
- 1:32:56Speaker 4: has crossed the line. That's where the athlete start. There
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: is a part where you have to there is a
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: point big Kenny, come out. Yeah, I was willing to
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: lead you to you up until yeah kind of thing. Yes, yeah,
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: you wasn't in the foxhole. No, no, you I can
- 1:33:11Speaker 4: talk about what but then I have to give way
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: too if you weren't in the foxhole in Afghanistan.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: It's easy for you to say that, as Mike Tyson,
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: I act unhinged sometimes, but when you start with that,
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: you should have dropped your left shoulder. Wait a minute, hello, Steven,
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: did you just did you try and give me boxing advice? No,
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: we're not gonna We're not gonna do that.
- 1:33:38Speaker 7: And here on the show.
- 1:33:39Speaker 4: That's why I can you can transfer sports as a
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: person that has done it from a mentality now, but
- 1:33:51Speaker 4: you can't, as you're saying you can't. There's a step
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: where I can't tell you which foot you should have
- 1:33:57Speaker 4: been driving off of right while you're ab is not,
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: then you have to give way.
- 1:34:02Speaker 7: Stephen act like he was in the title fight.
- 1:34:06Speaker 4: And go like you're saying telling somebody was to see
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: if he had doubled up on his jab and and
- 1:34:12Speaker 4: and Kevin.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: It feels like he does that primarily to just black athletes,
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: or is Stephen A.
- 1:34:19Speaker 8: Smiths does yeah, just well to two black people outside
- 1:34:24Speaker 8: of sports. And not that I've seen a lot of
- 1:34:28Speaker 8: the footage either, but it seems that whenever black people
- 1:34:35Speaker 8: are critical of if they're critical of the president, or
- 1:34:41Speaker 8: if they're critical of perhaps an athlete that he likes
- 1:34:48Speaker 8: or covers, then that's where he would that's where his
- 1:34:52Speaker 8: response is.
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: He puts his cape on and you know, okay. And
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: I haven't seen the Kevin Heart roast. Like with most
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: things that are quote unquote viral in social media and
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: things like that, I try to delay my viewing so
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: that I can give my honest feelings about it. After
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: all of the uproar about it, I don't think I
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: want to watch it now because it's going to tank
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: the comedy part of it. I'm looking for the wood
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: offended people more than I'm just hearing the jokes, you
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 1:35:27Speaker 12: And I.
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: Sit here now and in this moment realize that this
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: is the time that I started worrying about years and
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: years ago as a comedian, when people started having expectation
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: that you would change how you do comedy, change the
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: things you say in comedy, because it offended me. When
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: comedy used to be about we don't care if you're offended,
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: We're just going to give the joke, and everybody accepted that.
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: Now we're having whole panel discussions about what a comedian
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: should have or should not have said. And I think
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: it's just, you know, Stephen A. Smith is only fueling
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: the fire of that getting out of your lane because
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: it was a joke. It was a joke, and sometimes
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: people say a hit dog a hollow So if it
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: wasn't nothing but a joke, you could have just moved on.
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: But the fact that you want to use your platform
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: to address it may mean that you've heard this criticism before.
- 1:36:35Speaker 4: So and when it comes a thing I haven't watched,
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: I don't I didn't watch the Tom Brady Roast, I
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: don't watch any of a lot of roast. I usually
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: just watch comedy specials if anything, But I'm one of
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: those people Kevin Hart making a joke like this. Comedians
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: making jokes are jokes. Some of them hit home, some
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: of them you agree with. Some of them you might feel.
- 1:37:04Speaker 4: That's just the energy and the up and down of
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: watching a comedy show. But now, when a comedian gets
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: on the sexual part of their comedy, I unplug a
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: lot of times. But when they get past that and
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: go back to something else, I plug back in. So
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: it's something they I could have. You know, I'm not
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: looking for their whole forty five hour show everything. I'm
- 1:37:29Speaker 4: gonna plug in. But if I can tell a Charlie
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: Kirk joke and you was cool with it, don't get mad.
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: If I do a George Floyd joke, yeah and see that.
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: But that's how people like to do. It's like, oh,
- 1:37:42Speaker 4: I can go to a comedy show and I agree,
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: we'd agree with Then I can't ever you know, what's
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: good for the goose, good for the gander mindset, I
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: can't well go the other way.
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: To all comedians out there, if you ever have an
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: opportunity to roast, take in mind that roasting is a
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: specific skill set in comedy. It's not something that you
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: just Okay, I'm gonna take a shot at it. You
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: really have to apply yourself to. Getting on the day
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: is coming up with specific material for this moment, knowing
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: that I'm only going to use this material once, and
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: if you can one of the things that I do,
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: make it as digestible and funny as possible. You're not
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: here to offend people. You're not here to insult people.
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: You're here to make them laugh about quirky weird.
- 1:38:33Speaker 8: I think that's part of it, too, is writing a joke.
- 1:38:39Speaker 8: Some people may I think some comedians may just like
- 1:38:43Speaker 8: try to write something and it'll be offensive, and it'll
- 1:38:47Speaker 8: be just the fact that it's offensive, like it's just
- 1:38:51Speaker 8: and they're not like taking it. You don't know what
- 1:38:54Speaker 8: roasting is about.
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: You think it's just about being offensive, so you're you're
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: happy just to be invited to the roast without thinking
- 1:39:00Speaker 3: about what you're actually doing in the perform.
- 1:39:02Speaker 7: We'll be back well a sports job show right after this.
- 1:39:06Speaker 14: Early, Oh what's kind of curly, We're to a house
- 1:39:10Speaker 14: and bust out ahead.

- 1:41:37Speaker 3: big Cany.
- 1:41:38Speaker 7: We had a couple of comments online.
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: Yeah, our loyal online listeners are with us this Monday morning,
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: first day of June Sports Job.
- 1:41:45Speaker 7: Yes it is.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: When we came on uh, our loyal listener Jared Lloyd
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: said the bad producers missing because he injured himself trying
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: to train for their mm A match, so he's still
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: ready for the smoke. Antwine Lily said the best of
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: five would get more folks interested and short in the season.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: He believes that the playoffs and the championship finals should
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: be moved to best of five.
- 1:42:09Speaker 7: We also had.
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: Him say that he thought upping the pay per game
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: to balance the difference in what they would have to
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: give up. Uncle Charlie wanted to know is he saying
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: that a male has more knowledge of the game than
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: a female referee when we talked about the tennis player,
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: Was his right that? And I said, I think he
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: said she would have had more of a presence of authority.
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think that's why I was alluding to
- 1:42:37Speaker 4: it at that time, just in Paraguay. Right, the attention
- 1:42:42Speaker 4: of the audience or the room can be managed by,
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: in his mind, a male figure, Right, that's who's in
- 1:42:51Speaker 4: his mind, who's used to calling something to order order?
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:42:54Speaker 7: Yes. Yeah.
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: We had Antoine also ask when we were talking about
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: Naomiles and her court tour, imagined that Serena was doing this,
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: and then he said they almost lost their mind over
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: the black cat suit. And I remember once he bought
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: it up that there was talk about she should have
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: been suspended and that was disrespectful to the game. Now
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: she actually played in what she walked out in the
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: cat and suit, yes, but they said that that was
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: far too distracting and this was a you know, basically
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: a civilized gentleman's type game. And now you know Naomi
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: coming out in ball gowns and having to actually change
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: into something to play in later. So times have changed
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: and sensibilities definitely have changed as well.
- 1:43:42Speaker 4: And that's why I started more on that, just from
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: Naomi and how she has since what does she win?
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: She won some major, and from the time she's won
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: that major until now has completely changed her stands. Everything
- 1:43:58Speaker 4: has been more about something other than winning a major.
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: Winning a major, yeah, her issue with the media, her
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: issue with opponents. Ever, if something other than when are
- 1:44:10Speaker 4: you gonna win your next major?
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: And and for Antoine, thank you for reminding us about
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: that black cat suit on Serena. I appreciate that I
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: researched it and went down the rabbit hole a little
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: bit and it brightened my Monday morning.
- 1:44:22Speaker 7: Thank you, sir.
- 1:44:23Speaker 4: I appreciate that big noise coming once again out of
- 1:44:26Speaker 4: this hole. And it's just the ability of the media.
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: I'm a I'm a big history guy. I watch a
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: lot of history shows all throughout our world history different
- 1:44:40Speaker 4: regimes from Gengas come to the Nazis, to Russia, to
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: every continent. If I have it, if it comes up,
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: you make a special about it.
- 1:44:53Speaker 7: I click on just get informed of the times.
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: I look at our country when we get to this
- 1:44:59Speaker 4: rep Republican Democrat thing, and watched the coloring of it
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: and how it is just it's unimaginable. It lays into
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: some of those shows I watched those miniseries or documentaries
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: just about how divisive and you wonder how people got
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: that separated, that lived in the same place. And I
- 1:45:29Speaker 4: watched this with the Jackson Dark, the Abduke Carter, Jameis
- 1:45:34Speaker 4: Winston up there talking about church bombings and his interview.
- 1:45:38Speaker 7: About all this and.
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: How politics have infiltrated sports, how the politician uses it
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: the platform. President Trump says he's going to the nickgame.
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: Mayor New York says that he's gonna avoid him like
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: it just becomes the whole idea soap opera with politics
- 1:46:12Speaker 4: in a way. I guess I just never imagine it
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: was gonna be them versus us, us versus them, Alabama
- 1:46:25Speaker 4: versus Auburn kind of mentality. Auburn doesn't sell they do
- 1:46:31Speaker 4: now because of the money. But I got Auburn. They
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: didn't sell Alabama merchandise. You couldn't go to the local
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: Dicks or Champs or whatever foot locker back in those
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: days and order up anything Alabama. You had to drive
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: to a neutral city. You had to be halfway to Birmingham.
- 1:46:50Speaker 4: You had to be out of Auburn territory. That's how
- 1:46:52Speaker 4: it used to really work, like it was a thing
- 1:46:54Speaker 4: of you got to pick a choice, and once you
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: pick that choice, now we can't be friends no more.
- 1:46:59Speaker 4: Go at you, Greg, I know, remember we was in Vietnam.
- 1:47:04Speaker 4: We say each other's lives and all that, but then
- 1:47:07Speaker 4: we got back down.
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: If you had ball shrimp and grail shrimp and now
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: it was the fried shrimp and uh.
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: And then the media doesn't help. They take anything Jackson Dart.
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: This starts from Jackson Dart introduced and the President being
- 1:47:26Speaker 4: asked to introduce the president at another politicians convention rally
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: or whatever. So name commander name the person who's convention it.
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: I still don't know.
- 1:47:42Speaker 7: I don't remember.
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: He's running for I think I think so commander running
- 1:47:50Speaker 4: for God introduces you, who's going to introduce me? But
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: nobody remembers me. They just remember that introduced introduce you.
- 1:48:01Speaker 7: Pretty much.
- 1:48:01Speaker 4: It wasn't even and it just is something that just
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: a soap opera that two teammates now we're at arms
- 1:48:08Speaker 4: and I can't.
- 1:48:09Speaker 7: Believe they're actually not and they're actually not.
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: That's why I said, the media right because they like
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: they Abdul Carter came out and said, like he doesn't
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: need to apologize because and of course you you have
- 1:48:23Speaker 4: seen this where they're different, people have different political perspectives
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: in a locker room.
- 1:48:32Speaker 7: But that's not.
- 1:48:36Speaker 8: It's not prioritized. It's not a I mean, y'all may
- 1:48:40Speaker 8: talk about it, but it's not like it's going to
- 1:48:42Speaker 8: affect you know, if if the guard next to you
- 1:48:47Speaker 8: doesn't vote the same way you do, are y'all not
- 1:48:49Speaker 8: going to talk through each other on the field.
- 1:48:51Speaker 7: Well, and this is the thing.
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: Now, it's gotten to the point, and we've talked about
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: it before where it seems like this exposure is secondary
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: to the profession And I don't know if any of
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: these people really feel like any of this in real life.
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: If I want you to mention my name, I just
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: say something in scendiary and then you talk about me
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: for four or five days, and then eventually, because we're
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: so fickled, it goes away. And I'm like you said,
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: it used to be if you're Alabama, then I named
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: my son after you.
- 1:49:26Speaker 7: But you can't come to the house no more. You
- 1:49:28Speaker 7: know what I'm saying. I'm gonna have to tell.
- 1:49:31Speaker 3: Lil Wayne and he'll never see Uncle Wayne again because
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: that's just But now I can be mad at you
- 1:49:38Speaker 3: on Tuesday and be like, hey man, remember that name
- 1:49:40Speaker 3: I called you. On Tuesday, you can come through and
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: have a beer. And on Wednesday you'll come through and
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: have a beer. So I don't know if they're just
- 1:49:46Speaker 3: doing this stuff to draw attention to themselves or if
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: they really.
- 1:49:51Speaker 7: Feel like this anymore. We'll be back more to Sports
- 1:49:54Speaker 7: Jock Show. Right after this, it was gym, look at
- 1:49:58Speaker 7: anybody that were looking at you. I love.
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:50:07Speaker 9: Board of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Danbidio's coming up.
- 1:50:10Speaker 10: Next, and now let's talk about something exciting life insurance.
- 1:50:14Speaker 10: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 1:50:18Speaker 10: piece of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually
- 1:50:22Speaker 10: have life insurance.
- 1:50:23Speaker 29: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:50:24Speaker 29: just getting started with our family and thought we lived
- 1:50:27Speaker 29: forever life insurance. What's the last thing on my mind?
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:50:32Speaker 29: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:50:34Speaker 29: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:50:36Speaker 29: survive without me. That's when I'm in an appointment with
- 1:50:38Speaker 29: the insurance informant.

- 1:52:28Speaker 5: how they intermingle on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: Welcome back to the sport Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: Shock Wayne Kandy.
- 1:52:57Speaker 7: What do we have here?
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: A member of Michael Jordan's racing team suspended after attacking
- 1:53:03Speaker 4: elderly gentleman with a golf cart.
- 1:53:05Speaker 7: Did y'all see that young lady?
- 1:53:08Speaker 19: God?
- 1:53:08Speaker 4: I wonder what he said. I kept waiting on an
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: article to come out about what would have been spoken
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: to make her want to hit him with that golf cart?
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: Because you know Big Kenny's always on the course.
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: How about saying, judge, because we didn't all ran over
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: an old person with a golf cart right now?
- 1:53:27Speaker 7: You know how they get out there with that old
- 1:53:30Speaker 7: young man? Boom? What about that? What about that old dude?
- 1:53:34Speaker 7: What about that?
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: Though I'm saying, look at you, you can't get up now?
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: Asking you why you got your hat backwards? Why I
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: got my hat backwards while you got your cane on
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: the Why you got dirt all on your your shirt?
- 1:53:47Speaker 18: Sir?
- 1:53:48Speaker 7: Something that would be nice to see what it was
- 1:53:50Speaker 7: said for her to hit her gentleman.
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: She intentionally ran into him with the golf cart. There's No,
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: I accidentally lost control. There was on I had a
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: medical emergency. Is he wanted to smoke, so I bought
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: hardwood cherry flavor.
- 1:54:06Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:54:06Speaker 8: She was said she was going the wrong way on
- 1:54:09Speaker 8: the cart, and then people tried to get her attention.
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: She turned around and then she just hit Someboddy just
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: ran the game like I don't know which direction. I
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: know I'm going the wrong way, Sir Bawn.
- 1:54:23Speaker 7: Well, now, but.
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: The other day, kid comes through the neighborhood on a
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: mini bike and my neighbor runs out to the street
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: to chastise him with his finger waving and hey, hey,
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: you slowed hei. And I was like, how dangerous can
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: that be? Because the kid could have defin It wasn't
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: like a little bitty kid. He looked like he might
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: have been sixteen. And what if he had turned around
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: and was like what you say to me, old man
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: and jumped off to school and wanted to scrap you.
- 1:54:55Speaker 7: Want some old man.
- 1:54:57Speaker 4: No sad news Unfortunately, coming out of the Sports World
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: Claude Lemieux passing away at sixty by what they have
- 1:55:10Speaker 4: declared as suicide.
- 1:55:12Speaker 14: Uh.
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: They say that his brain will go to Boston University
- 1:55:15Speaker 4: for CTE even if they do find that, I would
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: like the family or agent or something to I don't
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: like CT just to be a blanket something.
- 1:55:26Speaker 7: People.
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: You let me know what else was going on in
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: Claude's life that could have also been contributing fact just
- 1:55:36Speaker 4: always took him, because that's not what about someone who
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: passes the day that didn't play sports, right, like, so
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: be careful with that. I've always said that, yes, CT
- 1:55:47Speaker 4: is something you can't find out until, but is there
- 1:55:50Speaker 4: other attributing factors you know, of his own life, of
- 1:55:56Speaker 4: how he saw life. Anthony Bourdain killed himself a couple
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: of years ago, and he never played a day of
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: professional football. He said he just never really wanted to
- 1:56:07Speaker 4: be old, if you know, I think in the book
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: or in one of the shows, he was mentioning like
- 1:56:13Speaker 4: he was gonna check out for the older years. Like,
- 1:56:16Speaker 4: so I'm not, you know, I want the research to
- 1:56:18Speaker 4: be done, but I do also because he was a
- 1:56:21Speaker 4: great hockey player. But I also just don't blanket it
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: with that because in our media were quick to blanket something,
- 1:56:29Speaker 4: and then we find out that Claude might have had
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: always had been dealing with some whether it was childhood trauma,
- 1:56:36Speaker 4: or financial strain or whatever else that could drive you
- 1:56:41Speaker 4: that way.
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: I thought it was interesting that when he passed, ESPN
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: reported on the story and it was ours. In their
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: initial reporting, they never mentioned suicide. They just mentioned he
- 1:56:55Speaker 3: had passed. They talked about his accomplishments as a hockey player.
- 1:56:59Speaker 7: I thought that was.
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: The most humanitarian coverage of a story like that I
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: had seen to date, because usually that's the bold title
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: of the story, hockey player commits suicide. But it wasn't
- 1:57:18Speaker 3: until I saw that his brain had been donated that
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: I learned that it was from suicide.
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: That he pad and coming out of Ball State, young
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: man just going to be a freshman a school here
- 1:57:30Speaker 4: in Georgia. I've called the games for Lownes County High School.
- 1:57:34Speaker 4: He was on that team last year, early enrollment at
- 1:57:38Speaker 4: Ball State, so he was home for graduation, but down
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: in Tallahassee caught in crossfire. Gavin Yates Lyons, eighteen years old,
- 1:57:51Speaker 4: caught in some crossfire. Two other gentlemen. Young man got
- 1:57:55Speaker 4: shot as well. This happened about a week ago. Seems
- 1:58:00Speaker 4: that when he was in the hospital three or four
- 1:58:05Speaker 4: days before, he just succumbed to his injury. His injuries.
- 1:58:09Speaker 4: In that case, Nicks and the San Antonio Spurs. Wednesday Night, guys,
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: early prediction. I gotta go now, can't. I gotta ask
- 1:58:21Speaker 4: you now, comand you Greg, who's winning the series. I'm
- 1:58:27Speaker 4: going with the I hate the Knicks, but I'm gonna
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: pick them to win. Okay, Okay, I like that. Don't
- 1:58:37Speaker 4: let you hate get in the way of your understanding.
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: Based on the conversations we were having earlier about Wemby
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: and his mental toughness, I'm going to give it to
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: the Knicks. They seem a little more gritty. I mean,
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: Wemby's got his flashes of grit, but then you get
- 1:58:56Speaker 3: under his skin too much and he starts kind of
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: pouting a little bit it and I think the Knicks
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: will exploit that and give them the advantage.
- 1:59:05Speaker 7: Okay to Knicks to Knicks. I'm gonna go with the Spurs.
- 1:59:09Speaker 7: Oh yeah, you know, San Antonio taking home the championship.
- 1:59:14Speaker 4: I just think that the better conferences. I thought whoever
- 1:59:20Speaker 4: was coming out of the West would beat whoever was
- 1:59:23Speaker 4: in the East this year.
- 1:59:27Speaker 7: So I have to stick to that. How many games
- 1:59:32Speaker 7: six okay to take them? Six to do it?
- 1:59:37Speaker 4: Okay, So it won't be a sweet No, won't be
- 1:59:42Speaker 4: a sweet six games. You're taking the Knicks in six
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: and you're taking the Knicks in seven and seven.
- 1:59:54Speaker 7: Okay, Well, we will start this series on Wednesday night
- 1:59:59Speaker 7: and we are in those The truth is he will

- 2:01:04Speaker 4: the salute the US as a I know that's a
- 2:01:10Speaker 4: lot the United States, specially Sports Association. I like when
- 2:01:16Speaker 4: people drop the real hammer on the people. Oklahoma, Nebraska
- 2:01:25Speaker 4: in a baseball battle, Oklahoma's head coach Michael Ryak, the
- 2:01:32Speaker 4: thirty eight year old mister Ryak instructed his son, got
- 2:01:38Speaker 4: his son implicated in the crime sound like a big
- 2:01:41Speaker 4: Kenny kind of thing. Hey with the family business in
- 2:01:46Speaker 4: the had his son in the sixth inning when the
- 2:01:48Speaker 4: game was, you know, out of reach to pitch one
- 2:01:54Speaker 4: of the balls into the dugout, throw the fastball into
- 2:01:59Speaker 4: the since they all got something to say, gonna teach
- 2:02:04Speaker 4: the whole somebody gonna get it because we can't get
- 2:02:07Speaker 4: this victory. Well for his action, they have suspended the coach.
- 2:02:15Speaker 7: Forever. Why not for the rest of the season, not
- 2:02:20Speaker 7: next year.
- 2:02:21Speaker 4: Lifetime band, but Michael Ryak for instructing his twelve year
- 2:02:25Speaker 4: old son to throw the ball and try to hit
- 2:02:29Speaker 4: somebody in the opposing doug out.
- 2:02:34Speaker 7: Just can't have that kind of around the kids.
- 2:02:37Speaker 3: And then you got your son he got he has
- 2:02:40Speaker 3: to sit there and get this black mark off of him.
- 2:02:45Speaker 3: As his career of role, he has to work and
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: get people to hope he don't have anger management, you know,
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: is his daddy's henchman right there.
- 2:02:56Speaker 4: You know that you would do this, but to compromise
- 2:02:58Speaker 4: your son to comfortm My youth baseball, it seems that
- 2:03:02Speaker 4: we have forgot the spirit of sports and the idea
- 2:03:06Speaker 4: of sportsmanship completely. When we don't win, we feel like
- 2:03:12Speaker 4: everybody need to suffer. But for that Michael Riatus like lifetime, man,
- 2:03:27Speaker 4: I like that lifetime, Lifetime, lifetime. But come at you, Greg,
