- 0:10Speaker 1: Winter Insurance? Did I true? I'm a checktaburance?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Get true?
- 0:15Speaker 1: Than is?
- 0:31Speaker 3: Hey? Everybody, welcome to Conspiracy The Show. I'm your host,
- 0:36Speaker 3: Adam Todd Brown joining me as co host this week.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Conners here, how's it going?
- 0:40Speaker 4: Man? Hey? Hey?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Hey?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Also joining us special guest a Tiff Myers.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Hey, what's up? You know it's going to be sad.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we call in it the somber dulcet tones of
- 0:53Speaker 4: a Tiff. He's gonna lay it down hard.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Tiff is the ambassador of sad around.
- 1:01Speaker 4: These parts, which is like, because he's a pretty cheerful guy.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just well, I'm trying to break that.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Oh I see that's fun breaking breaking somebody. That's that's
- 1:12Speaker 4: that's that's a good time.
- 1:14Speaker 2: That's fair. It's working, it's working.
- 1:16Speaker 4: A lot kind of sucks up. You're doing it to
- 1:17Speaker 4: one of your African American guests, Adam, But that's what
- 1:20Speaker 4: you got.
- 1:23Speaker 3: And told me to do it.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Via my dog. That'd be that'd be a good conspiracy theory.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Was the son of Sam telling the truth? Maybe it
- 1:33Speaker 4: was maybe his dog was dogging a god.
- 1:35Speaker 3: There is a really interesting Son of Sam conspiracy theory, though,
- 1:38Speaker 3: which is that there were that was a team of
- 1:41Speaker 3: people and not just one guy at this and it
- 1:45Speaker 3: does a Netflix documentary about it. It's really interesting. OK,
- 1:49Speaker 3: next episode, I don't I think we might have covered
- 1:51Speaker 3: it on the True Crime.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Pod, but god damn it, we are covering.
- 1:57Speaker 3: An equally scary documentary on the here episode of Conspiracy
- 2:02Speaker 3: the show say twenty twenty two documentary called The Grab,
- 2:06Speaker 3: which is from Gabriella Colperthwait, the filmmaker behind Blackfish, which
- 2:11Speaker 3: I don't think I ever saw, but maybe I did.
- 2:14Speaker 2: No.
- 2:15Speaker 4: It feels like one of those things that everybody had
- 2:17Speaker 4: to watch, although I never saw it either.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I never saw it either.
- 2:20Speaker 4: How are we the three guys un Planet Earth that
- 2:24Speaker 4: haven't seen Blackfish?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yeah? I just know SeaWorld in Orlando had to cancel
- 2:29Speaker 3: a thirty eight special concert over that shit. That's not
- 2:32Speaker 3: what the Orlando deserve.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Oh man, Orlando loves thirty eight Special. I assume, yes,
- 2:38Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Also, don't feel bad for Fish like I don't. They're
- 2:41Speaker 2: all delicious. I don't know. I don't feel it too
- 2:43Speaker 2: bad for them.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah, fish are delicious. I agree with that one hundred.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Well they shouldn't be so heart healthy, then if they
- 2:50Speaker 4: don't want to get eight.
- 2:53Speaker 3: So this documentary we're covering, it's called The Grab. I
- 2:57Speaker 3: wanted to cover it because we just did an episode
- 2:59Speaker 3: recently about the theory that two billionaires own most of
- 3:03Speaker 3: California's water, which, as we discussed on that episode, not
- 3:08Speaker 3: exactly true. They own a shit ton of water, just
- 3:10Speaker 3: not as much. But one of the things we mentioned
- 3:13Speaker 3: on that episode is that the problem is actually worse
- 3:16Speaker 3: than just two billionaires owning water. There are countless rich
- 3:22Speaker 3: people out there who are buying up water and forwarding it,
- 3:27Speaker 3: and it seems like it's for when society collapses and
- 3:31Speaker 3: we're fighting wars.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I would describe it as being like bitcoin, but even
- 3:35Speaker 4: more useful. Yeah, bitcoin, you can shit it.
- 3:42Speaker 3: So this documentary I wanted to cover it because it
- 3:46Speaker 3: kind of gets into how severe this problem is. This
- 3:50Speaker 3: is an alarming documentary.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah. I think we were talking before the show. We're
- 3:54Speaker 4: all pretty bummed out by the end of this one.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, spoiler at the end of this one, it's trying
- 3:59Speaker 2: to do like eight minutes of positive spin right, like
- 4:02Speaker 2: they're like this could happen, and it's like Doc more
- 4:05Speaker 2: Too said.
- 4:06Speaker 4: It's like one guy one place somewhere that no one's
- 4:09Speaker 4: ever heard of, did something slightly that improved a little bit.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Like it was, Yeah, it was. It was reaching for
- 4:17Speaker 4: the happy ending. But I do think they were trying
- 4:20Speaker 4: to spark us to action a tiff, right, so we
- 4:23Speaker 4: could we could be the change we want to see
- 4:25Speaker 4: in the world.
- 4:26Speaker 2: We ain't doing shit.
- 4:27Speaker 4: I know, that's it. I mean, you know, it's you know,
- 4:29Speaker 4: it's fucked up. As the three of us are actually
- 4:31Speaker 4: right now by doing this podcast, doing more than most people,
- 4:33Speaker 4: and we're still not doing shit.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah, not really. Yeah, we're just letting people know this
- 4:37Speaker 3: documentary exists.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Just I'm just reading the Google Doctor, my buddy Adam standing.
- 4:41Speaker 4: I mean, I'm doing even less than that.
- 4:44Speaker 3: And yeah, this opens right away with a guy being like, yeah,
- 4:47Speaker 3: we're probably on the verge of World War three over water.
- 4:50Speaker 3: It covers a journalist named Nate Halverson who started looking
- 4:56Speaker 3: into the purchase of Smithfield Foods, which is a huge
- 5:00Speaker 3: American food company that was purchased by a Chinese company.
- 5:06Speaker 3: And they assured everyone at the time that the Chinese
- 5:09Speaker 3: government had no involvement with this company. Yes, yeah, they
- 5:14Speaker 3: fucking do. What are you talking about?
- 5:15Speaker 2: They always do they own like every business.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Well, they take up a majority of the population of
- 5:21Speaker 4: the earth, Like it would be kind of strange if
- 5:22Speaker 4: they weren't involved on some level.
- 5:24Speaker 2: The government is literally involved in like everything that leaves
- 5:27Speaker 2: China or has to do it, like the tech like
- 5:30Speaker 2: I know, security cameras go back to China. They're super
- 5:32Speaker 2: involved in everything.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yeah, oh good, I'm glad the cameras that I used
- 5:38Speaker 4: for the areas that are most secure to me have
- 5:40Speaker 4: been made in China or there couldn't possibly be a backdoor.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I sort of got like that's why the Pentagon had
- 5:46Speaker 2: to be like, we need to get all American cameras,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and they hit up because I sell security, so they
- 5:51Speaker 2: just like we need to get all American cameras and
- 5:53Speaker 2: it's like, why were you using the Chinese ones?
- 5:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that was the big push behind banning Huawei in
- 6:00Speaker 3: this country. Yeah, and their phones, which everywhere else in
- 6:05Speaker 3: the world, they're like the number two smartphone?
- 6:07Speaker 4: Did you have one? Do you? Did you have a
- 6:09Speaker 4: Wadwei phone?
- 6:10Speaker 3: I bought one specifically because the government yes, said not.
- 6:14Speaker 2: They look so cool, like one of them opens up
- 6:16Speaker 2: to like a tablet, Like no, they're dope.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Man, and it was like having like the high end
- 6:23Speaker 3: iPhone but you pay like two hundred and fifty bucks
- 6:26Speaker 3: for it. It was pretty great.
- 6:28Speaker 4: That's what a pitch.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm good.
- 6:32Speaker 2: How to get one?
- 6:33Speaker 4: Now that you couldn't even get the highest end iPhone
- 6:36Speaker 4: for two hundred and fifty bucks back in like two
- 6:37Speaker 4: thousand and four when they came out before the inflation hit.
- 6:40Speaker 3: No, no, they were way more than that.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Or two thousand. That was more like when I graduated
- 6:44Speaker 4: high school, like two thousand seven, okay.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Two thousand and seven.
- 6:49Speaker 2: What you can get it unlocked one for like one
- 6:51Speaker 2: hundred dollars twenty seven bucks. This is crazy.
- 6:54Speaker 3: See.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Sorry, I wouldn't take any dick pics on my unlocked fed.
- 7:00Speaker 3: They'll throw a stun grenade through your window if you
- 7:02Speaker 3: buy one. But you know, I don't think.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Adam Adam just like he's like, sometimes there's a list
- 7:07Speaker 4: I'm not on.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I know.
- 7:10Speaker 2: These things are so fucking cheap man, Okay, sorry sorry.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So yeah, of course it turned out that the Chinese
- 7:17Speaker 3: government is involved in the Smithfield Foods purchase. And not
- 7:22Speaker 3: only that, but what Nate Halverson finds. I love this
- 7:26Speaker 3: part because he goes to China, and they give him
- 7:29Speaker 3: this book that is just chock full of information and
- 7:33Speaker 3: it says right on the front, do not distribute in
- 7:36Speaker 3: the United States. So he's like, so I put that
- 7:38Speaker 3: in my pocket and flew back to the United States.
- 7:42Speaker 3: It's like, how how did China let that happen? The
- 7:45Speaker 3: book is massive?
- 7:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like a phone book sized. Yeah, like
- 7:51Speaker 4: a phone book of state secrets that was labeled state secrets.
- 7:55Speaker 2: But I feel like if they were willing to interview
- 7:57Speaker 2: with them, they're probably cool with him just taking book.
- 8:00Speaker 2: They're like, dog, just will say you stole it in
- 8:02Speaker 2: like a week to fucking go.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah. It could also be all lies that they want
- 8:07Speaker 3: spread in the United States.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Yeah, they're actually like, we're sticking with the minerals. We're
- 8:12Speaker 4: going for minerals. Fucking food is gonna be fine.
- 8:15Speaker 3: But these documents they just straight up say that's part
- 8:20Speaker 3: of China's national security going forward is buying up huge
- 8:25Speaker 3: swaths of land for agriculture purposes water American food companies.
- 8:32Speaker 3: And one of the risks that is brought up in
- 8:35Speaker 3: this as it pertains to that particular thing, is if
- 8:39Speaker 3: a foreign entity got control of enough of our food
- 8:42Speaker 3: supply they could just cut us off at some point
- 8:46Speaker 3: if like war broke out.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Although if they're buying the bar farmland and they declare
- 8:51Speaker 4: war on it, I think we take the farmland back.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I would hope, yeah, you would think, right, Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 4: It'd be pretty fucked up. We had to fucking it's
- 8:59Speaker 4: really bullshit. We do use all these planes to play
- 9:01Speaker 4: all these grain to the Russians that are kicking or ass.
- 9:04Speaker 3: So yeah, that's a good point.
- 9:06Speaker 4: I was worried that I would just about to say
- 9:08Speaker 4: the stupidest thing ever.
- 9:11Speaker 3: So this Halverson guy, Nate Halverson, he decides to try
- 9:16Speaker 3: and look into if maybe other countries are focused on
- 9:19Speaker 3: buying up land in other parts of the world. So
- 9:23Speaker 3: he consults wiki leaks as one does, and finds all
- 9:28Speaker 3: these Saudi records about how they need to buy as
- 9:33Speaker 3: much American food and water interests in the US as
- 9:37Speaker 3: they can in the name of national security. And they
- 9:42Speaker 3: show us this farm in Arizona that is Saudi owned,
- 9:46Speaker 3: that is just growing hay and shipping it to Saudi
- 9:51Speaker 3: Arabia to feed cows.
- 9:53Speaker 4: May'd be funny if there is just like farm arm,
- 9:57Speaker 4: big ass mosque on a farm they.
- 9:59Speaker 2: P it is like I noticed it was in there,
- 10:01Speaker 2: like an Arabic there's Arabic on the gate and yeah
- 10:04Speaker 2: there's nothing like again, I lived, I lived in Saudi Arabia.
- 10:07Speaker 2: There's no I didn't even think you could throw anything
- 10:09Speaker 2: over there, like it's it's all desert.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Yeah, there's there's like very little arable land in the
- 10:14Speaker 4: whole fucking tent. And it's a big place too.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yeah it's a massive. But dude, no, those Arizonians were
- 10:20Speaker 2: fucking pissed.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Let's say it was like a South Park sketch like
- 10:24Speaker 4: that took our land.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Like, but like they don't they they have more reasons
- 10:29Speaker 2: to hate Muslims.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Number four thousand and eighty nine, there was one.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Guy who talked about how the water level in his
- 10:40Speaker 3: water well at you know, his home dropped so low
- 10:45Speaker 3: that one of the parts overheated and it cost the fire.
- 10:49Speaker 3: And I mean, I'd be salty too if anyone was
- 10:53Speaker 3: doing that with the water in my area.
- 10:56Speaker 2: That's our fault though, for letting them do that.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Kind of a fucking water version of the I Drink
- 11:02Speaker 4: your milkshake Daniel plain View, you know.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah, And it seems like part of this one of
- 11:09Speaker 3: the things they talk about is global warming and climate change.
- 11:13Speaker 3: And this is the first time I think I've heard this.
- 11:16Speaker 4: But this blew my mind.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah, they mentioned that Russia is gonna kind of benefit
- 11:23Speaker 3: from climate change more than anything because the areas that
- 11:27Speaker 3: will just faw and turn into like farmland and they're
- 11:30Speaker 3: prepping for that shit.
- 11:31Speaker 4: It's it's like a it's like a fat guy and
- 11:33Speaker 4: there's a really hot dude under there, and it's just
- 11:35Speaker 4: all the snow is melting off of them.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Doesn't that kind of like explain why like Trump is
- 11:41Speaker 2: going after Canada and Greenland?
- 11:43Speaker 4: It could Yeah, Oh that's a very that's a very
- 11:45Speaker 4: interesting dot to connect, man. Yeah, I think it could
- 11:48Speaker 4: definitely be that.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah, because he's like, oh shit, if Russia is gonna
- 11:51Speaker 2: get all this because they're that high above the equator,
- 11:54Speaker 2: let's go after other countries that we know that are
- 11:56Speaker 2: that high above the equator. Fucking canon Greenland.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, or like it's kind of like the same
- 12:01Speaker 4: logic as like, well Toronto or is gonna be more
- 12:03Speaker 4: It's gonna be like San Francisco someday, or you know,
- 12:07Speaker 4: it's like everything's gonna kind of shift up one market.
- 12:09Speaker 4: You know, we're gonna be Mexico is gonna be San Francisco,
- 12:13Speaker 4: and San Francisco is gonna be the Coma. I think
- 12:16Speaker 4: I get that backwards.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But you know he's President's gonna be Bakersfield.
- 12:19Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, yeah, that is interesting. That could be
- 12:22Speaker 3: a big reason why Trump seems to be so hell
- 12:25Speaker 3: bent on getting Greenland and Canada.
- 12:28Speaker 4: That would be him acknowledging climate change too, though, so
- 12:31Speaker 4: that's one another. Maybe that's a counterpoint.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Well, the thing about Greenland too, I believe they have
- 12:36Speaker 3: a lot of minerals that are used in producing smartphones.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Oh, I think we're.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Trying to get it that too. It's probably where we
- 12:46Speaker 3: will send immigrants who their respective countries won't take them back,
- 12:51Speaker 3: will probably just send them to Greenland to do.
- 12:54Speaker 4: We're gonna make it into our own Australia. Yeah yeah, basically,
- 12:58Speaker 4: Oh well then that'll be fun someday.
- 13:01Speaker 3: It's got a prison country written all over it.
- 13:04Speaker 4: I don't know, Greenland sounds too nice to be a
- 13:06Speaker 4: prison planet, although I know Greenland is winning with the
- 13:08Speaker 4: ice in Iceland is the one with the green. Yes. Yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 4: just in case you didn't know, listener was I was
- 13:14Speaker 4: ignorant myself for many years.
- 13:16Speaker 3: And so because of this impending climate change that is
- 13:21Speaker 3: going to make farming easier in Russia, Vladimir Putin has
- 13:25Speaker 3: been super duper focused over the past decade or so
- 13:30Speaker 3: on reviving the cattle population in Russia.
- 13:35Speaker 4: The more time that passes, the more respect I have
- 13:37Speaker 4: for that man. He is really playing the long game,
- 13:41Speaker 4: the smart game. This is like, what would happen if
- 13:45Speaker 4: the world's like, you're the coolest secret agent in our
- 13:48Speaker 4: country who became the president, someone who had that ability
- 13:51Speaker 4: to assess real politique. It's it's just a masterclass watching
- 13:55Speaker 4: him work it.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I do love the shitty videos of him, like working
- 13:59Speaker 2: out though.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Barrel chest, Like no matter how fucking fit in the
- 14:05Speaker 4: old and like I believe Vladimir Putin could kick my
- 14:07Speaker 4: ass and works out. He still has this fucking nineteen
- 14:09Speaker 4: twenties boxer build.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's definitely got a gun. He's always got
- 14:14Speaker 3: a gun.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Oh yeah, in every room of his house he's got
- 14:17Speaker 4: a gun, and only he knows where it is.
- 14:18Speaker 3: There's video in this documentary that I've seen a bunch
- 14:23Speaker 3: of times, but it's just boot and walking into some
- 14:27Speaker 3: government function and he's doing what's called the gun slinger's gate,
- 14:30Speaker 3: which is where one of your arms moves when you walk,
- 14:33Speaker 3: but the other one doesn't, and it's because you don't
- 14:35Speaker 3: want the gun you're carrying to move, so you're like
- 14:38Speaker 3: keeping it against your body with the ardea.
- 14:41Speaker 4: He's like, fuck if I'm getting assassinated.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Yeah. I did find that really interesting, and that is
- 14:46Speaker 3: such a good point about Canada and Greenland. That could
- 14:49Speaker 3: absolutely be right so interested because what they're suggesting here
- 14:54Speaker 3: is that at some point Russia is just going to
- 14:56Speaker 3: kind of become the driver of global food supply.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I think he called it Iowa.
- 15:04Speaker 2: He did call it Iowa.
- 15:05Speaker 4: It's like underneath the frozen tundra of Russia as a
- 15:07Speaker 4: fucking Iowa. And when you when you think of how
- 15:09Speaker 4: valuable that is in terms of like farmland, it's kind
- 15:12Speaker 4: of incredible. And the Lord knows are gonna need they
- 15:15Speaker 4: have a gigantic population. But it also kind of makes
- 15:17Speaker 4: sense like Ukraine. The whole reason we're fighting over Ukraine
- 15:19Speaker 4: is that they call it the bread basket of Europe,
- 15:21Speaker 4: and it's like, well, this is like for right the
- 15:22Speaker 4: fuck next door. So I mean it stands to reason
- 15:25Speaker 4: that a couple more like cycles of climate change later.
- 15:29Speaker 3: And so yeah, that's Putin's plan.
- 15:32Speaker 4: That's one of his plants. That's one of his amazing plants. Yeah,
- 15:36Speaker 4: he has several amazing plans that are outlined in the
- 15:38Speaker 4: documentary and we will be getting to all of them.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Yeah. They also have been importing cowboys.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's just a cool plan. That's really cool
- 15:48Speaker 4: to steal our cowboys, Like fuck what you that's like.
- 15:52Speaker 3: There's this guy whose wife basically applied for this job
- 15:55Speaker 3: for him and he gets this zoom call and she's
- 15:58Speaker 3: like answer it. It's about a job and it turned
- 16:01Speaker 3: out to be a job in Russia and he got it,
- 16:04Speaker 3: and the wife didn't realize that part when she first
- 16:07Speaker 3: signed him up. So they up and moved to Russia
- 16:09Speaker 3: and they show all these videos of like Russian rodeos.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Cowboy culture is a huge thing in Russia now.
- 16:16Speaker 2: But it's weird they would just like turn their backs
- 16:19Speaker 2: in America, right, Like it's weird. There'd be like fuck
- 16:22Speaker 2: America when they're so you know, they're so anti Russia,
- 16:26Speaker 2: right and the whole why would they just jump ship
- 16:28Speaker 2: for that much money? Like I don't know, I'm trying
- 16:30Speaker 2: to how much did they ever saydwhich you got paid?
- 16:32Speaker 3: Every cup post got a price, tiff, I bet he's
- 16:36Speaker 3: getting paid a lot. To uproot your life and move
- 16:40Speaker 3: to Russia. You either have to be like an enemy
- 16:43Speaker 3: of the American government or getting paid a shit ton
- 16:46Speaker 3: of money or Fred Durst I think he moved. He
- 16:49Speaker 3: lived in Russia for a while.
- 16:50Speaker 4: So what was the song that bad? I didn't hated
- 16:56Speaker 4: that that much. I mean, geez.
- 16:59Speaker 3: So you're not gonna believe this, but companies in the
- 17:01Speaker 3: United States are doing this too. They talk to a
- 17:05Speaker 3: guy who runs this huge farm in Arkansas and it
- 17:08Speaker 3: seems like they just lease it out to foreign governments
- 17:12Speaker 3: to grow food. And meanwhile, the people who live around
- 17:15Speaker 3: that farm are like, can we have water please? And
- 17:18Speaker 3: they're like, no, of course not. So that's comforting. And
- 17:22Speaker 3: they talk to a whole wave of security experts who
- 17:26Speaker 3: talk about how we're like twenty five years away from
- 17:29Speaker 3: water being the thing we fight over. Like they literally
- 17:32Speaker 3: say like, yeah, twenty fifty something like that.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I'm just doing the math on how old they'll be
- 17:36Speaker 4: and how many years I have left to dead. Damn,
- 17:38Speaker 4: I'm going to have some of my decent years are
- 17:40Speaker 4: going to be afflicted by this. Yeah I could I
- 17:43Speaker 4: could be. These could be my old man sports car
- 17:45Speaker 4: driving retirement years. Motherfuck.
- 17:47Speaker 3: And instead you're gonna be mad maxing it up trying
- 17:50Speaker 3: to get water.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Yeah, no, shit, if I can't get into the bitcoin citadel.
- 17:55Speaker 2: How have we not like created water with science?
- 17:59Speaker 4: Just get some higher in an oxygen and just put
- 18:01Speaker 4: that shit together like legos.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Or even like a distill ocean salt water.
- 18:07Speaker 4: You're always talking about desalination, but I never really I
- 18:10Speaker 4: feel like it never is like scalable. They're like, we
- 18:12Speaker 4: can do it if it takes a week to make
- 18:14Speaker 4: a fucking sparklet's drug, But we can do it, Like,
- 18:17Speaker 4: but I'm talking on my ass.
- 18:18Speaker 3: No, you're right. I think it is just a we
- 18:20Speaker 3: don't have the right technology to do it on a
- 18:23Speaker 3: large scale, because yeah, that's the obvious answer. Let's just
- 18:26Speaker 3: drink the fucking ocean.
- 18:27Speaker 4: You know, Yeah, what if we hear me out, what
- 18:30Speaker 4: if we just drink it? Anyway, we start watering down
- 18:33Speaker 4: our water with the salt water, so we slowly introduce it,
- 18:36Speaker 4: and you beings evolved with the algae and the ship
- 18:40Speaker 4: that we drink. You know, and we probably get some
- 18:42Speaker 4: kind of powers.
- 18:42Speaker 3: If yeah, that's the future I want.
- 18:45Speaker 4: We could be like murderlocks from the World of Warcraft.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah, we get all those crazy ocean powers. Yeah, sharks.
- 18:54Speaker 3: So yeah, all of these security experts they talk to
- 18:57Speaker 3: all seem highly, highly concerned over food and land and
- 19:02Speaker 3: water resources becoming a thing that other countries are just
- 19:07Speaker 3: snatching up. And so then they talk about the trove,
- 19:09Speaker 3: which Nick Halverson doesn't even want to really talk about
- 19:13Speaker 3: it at first. They just keep referencing this thing called
- 19:16Speaker 3: the trove, and he and his team are really reluctant
- 19:20Speaker 3: to discuss it. Nate assumes he is always being surveilled.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Is that why they went to the fucking cabin in
- 19:26Speaker 2: the woods? I don't understand why they couldn't live in
- 19:29Speaker 2: a city.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Can there be a little bit of cinematography at the
- 19:31Speaker 4: end of the world, If it's alright with you, it
- 19:35Speaker 4: all have to be a part of the conspiracy. I'm kidding.
- 19:37Speaker 2: And I was like, what they they're driving back to
- 19:39Speaker 2: like a we work like what it seems like weekly, Like,
- 19:42Speaker 2: I don't know why they just can't live in a city.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know this trove, it's a trove of documents,
- 19:50Speaker 3: emails from a guy named Eric Prince, who, if the
- 19:54Speaker 3: name isn't familiar, that's the Blackwater guy. That's the guy
- 19:58Speaker 3: who just like made a corporate military that you can
- 20:02Speaker 3: hire out to topple governments and things of the like.
- 20:06Speaker 4: That guy came out looking very hirable in this. He
- 20:08Speaker 4: seems to have the Midas touch Everything that he gets
- 20:11Speaker 4: involved with just fucking blows up huge.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it really does.
- 20:17Speaker 4: And again it goes back to Putin. It's like, when
- 20:19Speaker 4: you have like a fucking cold operator with like just
- 20:23Speaker 4: that access to real politique, what is it really? It's
- 20:27Speaker 4: about who owns the fucking pork adam, you know, like
- 20:29Speaker 4: who sees that shit?
- 20:31Speaker 3: And everyone is so nervous about even having these documents.
- 20:36Speaker 3: And I completely understand why the Blackwater guy could he
- 20:40Speaker 3: could have one of us killed, like on this call
- 20:42Speaker 3: probably if.
- 20:43Speaker 4: Oh yeah he needed before we get to the plugs.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's to the point they tell this Nate
- 20:51Speaker 3: Halverson guy, the main journalist that they're covering in this,
- 20:56Speaker 3: They're like, uh, well you are talking on an unsecure,
- 21:00Speaker 3: sure wireless microphone. Is that okay? And even that he's like,
- 21:05Speaker 3: I don't know, which I don't get all the secrecy
- 21:09Speaker 3: when you're talking for a documentary that you're gonna release. Yeah, like,
- 21:14Speaker 3: is the thinking that well, by then it's too late
- 21:15Speaker 3: and they can't do anything.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Because you probably give them a little more than what
- 21:19Speaker 4: they need and you dial it back to what's right
- 21:21Speaker 4: to put out and you know, in that little thin
- 21:24Speaker 4: margin there could be something compromising.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but like they reached out to Eric Prince multiple times,
- 21:29Speaker 2: like he's aware that they're doing this. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 2: that's a good point, Like they're already probably watching as
- 21:35Speaker 2: soon as you like can't want to interview, he's probably
- 21:37Speaker 2: sending over someone to hack your computers, hack your phones.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, so yeah, again, the secrecy a little showy
- 21:45Speaker 3: for me.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Oh the fucking trailer of this made this part seem
- 21:50Speaker 2: like he had a snitch in his group.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Oh I didn't. I didn't watch the trailer.
- 21:54Speaker 2: It was just like it was like we might have
- 21:55Speaker 2: them all and I'm like, oh, fuck, are they gonna
- 21:57Speaker 2: reveal a snitch?
- 21:58Speaker 4: They don't, but they gotta they got to educate people
- 22:02Speaker 4: at the end of the world somehow, and if they
- 22:04Speaker 4: need to use a little trickery with the trailer to
- 22:06Speaker 4: manipulate our fucking drama loving minds. I don't blame them.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yeah, speaking of drama, they talk about all the things
- 22:13Speaker 3: they did to the computer that they got this trove
- 22:16Speaker 3: of documents, so.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Do they Yeah, the glue and the ether that port, Yeah,
- 22:20Speaker 4: WiFi ripped out.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah, no, they it's never been on the internet. They
- 22:24Speaker 3: took the Wi Fi capability out. They put blue in
- 22:27Speaker 3: the Ethernet port. They call it air gapped. That's when
- 22:31Speaker 3: there's just like the Internet cannot connect to a device.
- 22:36Speaker 3: That's what's so fascinating about that time we hacked Iran's
- 22:41Speaker 3: nuclear plant. The virus that we did that with all
- 22:46Speaker 3: their nuclear stuff is air gap, so you can't just
- 22:48Speaker 3: like get online and hack it. So we had to
- 22:51Speaker 3: send someone in with a fucking USB stick to install
- 22:55Speaker 3: that shit.
- 22:57Speaker 4: I mean, that's that definitely sounds like one of the
- 22:58Speaker 4: better ant Man movie. I'd watched that one.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Also, I think it was actually Israel that did it
- 23:06Speaker 3: and not us.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Oh the Mesade. Yeah, those those guys are good.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's another documentary. So Frontier Resource Group that is
- 23:14Speaker 3: the name of Eric Prince's company. They have his emails.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I don't blame them. For being nervous that they have them.
- 23:23Speaker 3: They managed to talk to some mercenaries they were at
- 23:27Speaker 3: first they were like, we're obviously not going to get
- 23:29Speaker 3: mercenaries to talk to us, and they sure do.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Yeah, they had. They had one guy they talked to
- 23:34Speaker 4: where he's like, well, Prince is a friend of mine,
- 23:36Speaker 4: and it's like, why are you fucking talking to these guys?
- 23:38Speaker 3: Did did they trick you?
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's crazy. One of the mercenaries they talked to
- 23:44Speaker 3: is a guy named Simon Mann.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Simon Man.
- 23:49Speaker 3: He was hired to overthrow the government of Equatorial Guinea,
- 23:54Speaker 3: which you.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Put on your resume.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's kind of thing you think only happens
- 24:00Speaker 3: in movies. But these motherfuckers are out there like they're really.
- 24:04Speaker 3: The A Team is real.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I thought. I mean, it's there's so many
- 24:08Speaker 4: guys that made it so corny, like to talk about
- 24:11Speaker 4: this shit over the years, that you forget there's like, oh,
- 24:13Speaker 4: I guess there's got to be someone that assassinates the
- 24:15Speaker 4: president Yeah of whatever country, not this one, not certainly,
- 24:19Speaker 4: not this one.
- 24:20Speaker 2: How did they find them?
- 24:21Speaker 3: I wonder how they find like, yeah, do you like,
- 24:23Speaker 3: I mean, maybe it's dark web stuff.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Oh they find you right, isn't that of the eight
- 24:28Speaker 4: team works?
- 24:30Speaker 3: Yeah? I forgot about that part.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Looks like you might need the services of a team
- 24:35Speaker 4: of super evil superspies.
- 24:38Speaker 3: So this mercenary they talked to, he talks about how
- 24:42Speaker 3: there's just a shit ton of undeveloped land in Africa
- 24:47Speaker 3: that all of these governments and corporations are going after.
- 24:52Speaker 4: You know where. I first learned that from the unreleased
- 24:55Speaker 4: Kanye West song Last Name from the unreleased Kanye West
- 24:58Speaker 4: album Yandi Who Interesting? In this weird, unhinged freestyle, He's like,
- 25:03Speaker 4: and I heard the Chinese buying Africa sooner than we
- 25:05Speaker 4: could get it. And I was like, hm, I wonder
- 25:07Speaker 4: if the Chinese are buying Africa sooner than we can
- 25:09Speaker 4: get it?
- 25:10Speaker 3: They sure are? They sure as shit are?
- 25:13Speaker 4: Kanye called it back in like twenty eighteen. Man, he's
- 25:15Speaker 4: a broken clock motherfucker.
- 25:18Speaker 3: And what's crazy is this guy He talks about how
- 25:23Speaker 3: there is just all of this land out there that
- 25:26Speaker 3: these private military corporations are helping foreign governments steal. Basically
- 25:31Speaker 3: because when he says undeveloped land, he clarifies and he's like,
- 25:35Speaker 3: don't get me wrong, people live on it, and people
- 25:38Speaker 3: are farming it and you know, using it to grow
- 25:41Speaker 3: food so they can live. It's just they don't technically
- 25:44Speaker 3: own it.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Because why would you have the deed to something you owned,
- 25:47Speaker 4: like in your family since the guy put it it's
- 25:49Speaker 4: since time immemorial, like since like history was kept. You know.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Yeah. I found my name on one of those lists
- 25:57Speaker 3: where the state government is like, hey, we owe you
- 26:00Speaker 3: money for something and you haven't claimed it, are you?
- 26:03Speaker 3: If you like contact us, you can have that money.
- 26:05Speaker 3: And I went online to claim it. And the address
- 26:09Speaker 3: I lived in lived at at the time, it was
- 26:11Speaker 3: like a childhood address, and they wanted proof of residents
- 26:15Speaker 3: from a place I lived at when I was eight.
- 26:18Speaker 4: I didn't keep an electric.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Bill report card. You can show them the report.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Card, right, I don't have my report car, just third
- 26:24Speaker 3: grade report card. I don't have any of that shit.
- 26:27Speaker 4: I like, it's trying to like, what do you work
- 26:29Speaker 4: for the fucking Unclaimed Money Department? Like you got a
- 26:32Speaker 4: report card? Right, It's just on you if you don't
- 26:34Speaker 4: save your report cards.
- 26:35Speaker 1: No.
- 26:39Speaker 3: So, yeah, these corporations, these private military corporations, are buying
- 26:45Speaker 3: up land. Halverson decides he wants to go to Zambia
- 26:49Speaker 3: to see what life is like for people who are
- 26:52Speaker 3: getting their farmland taken.
- 26:54Speaker 2: They did that well, they did that graph where it
- 26:56Speaker 2: was like no water restrictions, like no water, your own restrictions,
- 27:00Speaker 2: and like no government and like Zambia was at the top.
- 27:03Speaker 2: It was like America was like at the bottom of
- 27:06Speaker 2: the Zambia was like this gold mine. And it goes like,
- 27:09Speaker 2: why don't these African governments step up and be like no,
- 27:12Speaker 2: we're we are going to own this shit now? Is
- 27:15Speaker 2: how That's how you get assassinated.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how you get your country overthrown. Yeah, that's
- 27:19Speaker 3: what happens there. Yeah. They mentioned Somali pirates in this
- 27:23Speaker 3: and I've talked about that a bunch. I don't think
- 27:25Speaker 3: we ever did. We might have done a full episode
- 27:28Speaker 3: about it. But Samali pirates that all started because other
- 27:32Speaker 3: countries were coming into Somalia and just stealing their resources.
- 27:38Speaker 4: It's kind of like, you know how that's like in
- 27:39Speaker 4: my country. I was a surgeon. It's like, well, yeah,
- 27:41Speaker 4: they're called Somali pirates because before that they were called
- 27:43Speaker 4: Somali fishermen.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, And Samalia didn't have a Navy. They couldn't
- 27:48Speaker 3: fight any of these people off, so they fucking took
- 27:52Speaker 3: it into their own hands.
- 27:53Speaker 4: So fuck Tom Hanks, which is kind of badass. It's
- 27:56Speaker 4: sort of like if everyone, like, I don't know that
- 27:58Speaker 4: worked that your garbage truck was like, let's you're in
- 28:00Speaker 4: the garbage druck into a battle mobile to keep the
- 28:02Speaker 4: Ruskies out, like I'm trying to That's oitty American version.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Pretty fucking rad.
- 28:08Speaker 4: That's a movie I want to see. Actually, take another trash.
- 28:11Speaker 3: When they get to Zambia, they get detained at the
- 28:16Speaker 3: airport and they're in this room for hours and hours,
- 28:20Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, one of them just notices
- 28:22Speaker 3: that on the wall behind them is a list with
- 28:25Speaker 3: all of their names and passport numbers on it.
- 28:28Speaker 2: That shows how shitty of investigative journalists they are for
- 28:32Speaker 2: that long to notice, Like, how much other shit are
- 28:34Speaker 2: they missing?
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that is crazy.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Well, I mean that's no wonder. That's when you're white.
- 28:38Speaker 4: That's where your computer's air gaped. You're like, after you
- 28:40Speaker 4: see something that terrifying, you're like, I am no longer
- 28:43Speaker 4: fucking around.
- 28:45Speaker 3: And they get kicked out of the country because it's
- 28:48Speaker 3: decided that they're reporting on other countries. Buying up land
- 28:52Speaker 3: in Zambia is a national security risk, so they get booted.
- 28:57Speaker 3: But he had already gone there once before in twenty seventeen,
- 29:01Speaker 3: and we see footage from that visit. They talk to
- 29:04Speaker 3: a guy who is awesomely named Dexter Tomato, and he
- 29:09Speaker 3: describes what happened exactly as you would imagine it. He's
- 29:13Speaker 3: like a white man showed up and was like, I
- 29:15Speaker 3: own this land. Now you move. You have to vacate
- 29:19Speaker 3: this land. And that's just been happening to person after
- 29:23Speaker 3: person all over Africa. And the only assistance he got
- 29:28Speaker 3: as far as moving was a tent from the government
- 29:32Speaker 3: and that's it. And he still lives in that tent.
- 29:34Speaker 3: He and his wife lost a kid that died mostly
- 29:37Speaker 3: because of sleeping in the cold. So that sucks.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Yeah, in't got nothing funny to say about that.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Yeah, And yeah, they describe it, I think pretty accurately
- 29:47Speaker 3: as this is like the new colonization of Africa, or
- 29:52Speaker 3: after minerals last time, and now everyone's after land, and China,
- 29:56Speaker 3: the United States, every country you can imagine is just
- 30:01Speaker 3: scrambling to buy up land in Africa and people are
- 30:05Speaker 3: having to like sue to get their land back, if
- 30:08Speaker 3: they're able to get it back at all. And in
- 30:11Speaker 3: that trove of emails they find one that is from
- 30:16Speaker 3: Eric Prince's right hand man, and he's talking about if
- 30:20Speaker 3: you see someone in Africa who's injured, like if they've
- 30:23Speaker 3: been shot or beaten or anything. This is an actual quote,
- 30:27Speaker 3: we don't help bleeding Africans. And the argument is they're
- 30:32Speaker 3: in Africa, they're gonna die at like forty two anyway,
- 30:36Speaker 3: and you know, less people bitching about us taking their land.
- 30:40Speaker 3: So yeah, if you see anyone who's dying, just let
- 30:43Speaker 3: them die, especially if they're bleeding.
- 30:45Speaker 4: It's crazy, yeah, because I mean it's a private corporation.
- 30:49Speaker 4: There's not even like a voting public to be like
- 30:51Speaker 4: outraged by this. So it's like, yeah, fuck it. Why
- 30:55Speaker 4: the bottom line to speak so loudest.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Yeah, And that is kind of what happened with the
- 31:00Speaker 3: Resnics in all the water they owned, that water bank
- 31:03Speaker 3: that they owned, fifty six percent of it used to
- 31:05Speaker 3: be owned by the state, and the state just like
- 31:08Speaker 3: set up a secret deal and gave it to a
- 31:10Speaker 3: bunch of private interests without any voter input or anything.
- 31:14Speaker 3: And it's because there's not a ton of regulation around
- 31:18Speaker 3: what you can and can't do with water, which is nuts.
- 31:22Speaker 3: But it also seems like maybe that ship has sailed
- 31:24Speaker 3: now and regulations probably wouldn't help at this point.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know. They're so easy to demonize too.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Yeah. And one of the things they find out is
- 31:33Speaker 3: that Eric Prince is being at least partially bankrolled by
- 31:38Speaker 3: a guy named Sheikh Tanoun runs national security for the
- 31:42Speaker 3: United arab.
- 31:43Speaker 4: That's the Mario suit with the raccoon and he could fly. Yeah,
- 31:47Speaker 4: is that what to do?
- 31:48Speaker 3: And he's the secret backer behind Eric Prince and his
- 31:53Speaker 3: efforts to buy up all this land in Africa. So
- 31:56Speaker 3: now add them to the list, Saudi Arabia, China, the
- 32:00Speaker 3: United States, all these countries just converging on Africa.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Dude, we could buy land in Africa right now for
- 32:07Speaker 2: like four grand.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Well you looked into it.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking at it right now. I'm like, how
- 32:11Speaker 2: expensive is that?
- 32:12Speaker 3: How much land?
- 32:13Speaker 4: We only need one more investor.
- 32:15Speaker 2: One heck tail, So it's like two point seven one acres.
- 32:19Speaker 4: That's a decent little patch.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah, two hundred thousand gets your prime one hundred plus
- 32:23Speaker 2: acre farm next to a river in Ghana.
- 32:26Speaker 4: I mean, what's the tiger situation.
- 32:28Speaker 2: If these whites are doing it, we got to do it.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to do what the whites are doing.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Yeah, those damn whites.
- 32:36Speaker 2: They're taking everything. This is a wild it's wild that
- 32:39Speaker 2: it's just this open to do this. You can just
- 32:41Speaker 2: do this. That's crazy.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Sorry, it's not like a scam website. I mean you
- 32:45Speaker 3: have to pay in gift cards.
- 32:47Speaker 4: You gotta. Yeah, it's like four thousand dollars. I mean
- 32:50Speaker 4: it's like, I don't know. That's like, you know what
- 32:51Speaker 4: I contribute to my IRA every year? Why could I
- 32:54Speaker 4: diversify my portfolio with the little African land?
- 32:57Speaker 3: I just this could be the new side hustle.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Who knows, but I would you know what I would do.
- 33:02Speaker 4: I would give it back to the Africans and I
- 33:03Speaker 4: would make it like the one holdout house in a
- 33:05Speaker 4: nice new neighborhood that's like a weird old house. It
- 33:08Speaker 4: doesn't fit with any of the other houses.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yeah. So how about Robert Young Pelton. He is a
- 33:14Speaker 3: for real, for real mercenary that they interview. Motherfucker has
- 33:18Speaker 3: an Isis flag in his souvenir.
- 33:21Speaker 4: That was so fucking sick to me.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Yeah, who doesn't have one? I don't have one. I don't.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I don't have one. I don't have one. American Government,
- 33:28Speaker 2: I don't have one, do I I don't. I don't think.
- 33:31Speaker 3: So you probably get one on Etsy or something, or I.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Could make a couple of calls. Maybe, I don't know, I'll
- 33:38Speaker 2: see it.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that is quite the flex to take someone down
- 33:43Speaker 3: to your basement and you're like, you're not gonna believe,
- 33:46Speaker 3: like that's real. Yeah, it's a real isis flag? You
- 33:49Speaker 3: should take it on hand stars.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Fifty bucks? So so m's the best I can do. Yeah.
- 33:57Speaker 4: He brings me an expert and he's like this, this
- 33:59Speaker 4: is all. This has only been the flowing headings maybe
- 34:02Speaker 4: three tops.
- 34:05Speaker 2: This is as flag from Meron, not Syria. It's is worthwhiss.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Now if you have flag from the Levant, that is
- 34:13Speaker 4: really where the money is.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I'd watch that episode. I fuck with Stars.
- 34:18Speaker 4: I like Punt Stars as far. You know how some
- 34:20Speaker 4: TV is just like a warm goo that you did.
- 34:22Speaker 4: They just they just inject into your mouth. It's like, yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 4: give me the fucking chocolates are at Punt Stars?
- 34:27Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, I went to the Pond Stars pawn shop once.
- 34:32Speaker 4: I was it. I hear it smaller than you think.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Pretty small. Yeah, it's very small. And they weren't there.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Chumley was gonna be at his candy shop sign.
- 34:40Speaker 2: It isn't he dead? Didn't one of them die?
- 34:42Speaker 3: The old man?
- 34:44Speaker 2: Oh okay, the.
- 34:45Speaker 4: One who was supposed to die.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I mean have you seen Chumley?
- 34:50Speaker 4: Well, I mean you know he's a young man. We
- 34:52Speaker 4: haven't seen his redemption arc. If STEVEO did it, so
- 34:54Speaker 4: can Chumley.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Chumly is tiny, now, oh that's fine, he's a tiny man.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Yeah, you guys doubted his redemption arc and here it is, right,
- 35:02Speaker 4: it's already.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Upon it already happened.
- 35:06Speaker 4: I believed in you, Chumbley.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I thought the stuff about the Arab spring was interesting.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that the boiling point was really what out of
- 35:16Speaker 4: food prices.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Grain prices in particular, And it was because Russia just
- 35:23Speaker 3: refused to distribute the grain they normally distribute. There was
- 35:28Speaker 3: a crisis, there was climate change, lots of fires. Russia
- 35:31Speaker 3: was like, now we got to keep it this time.
- 35:33Speaker 3: And that led to unrest in a bunch of Arab countries,
- 35:37Speaker 3: and that led to revolution. And I'm sure, the CIA
- 35:41Speaker 3: was so bummed out all of that and didn't have
- 35:44Speaker 3: a hand in any of it, because it's like, yeah,
- 35:47Speaker 3: the food prices were probably pretty high, but were we
- 35:51Speaker 3: there also going, hey, you know you should do about
- 35:54Speaker 3: these high food prices, should overthrow your government. That was
- 35:56Speaker 3: like John McCain's whole job he ran and a NGO
- 36:02Speaker 3: that just went to the Middle East and talk people
- 36:04Speaker 3: about democracy. Baby, that's all just.
- 36:07Speaker 4: I mean, this was the guy who wanted to bomb
- 36:08Speaker 4: bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran. You remember that, Yes, what
- 36:13Speaker 4: McCain said, said that he's saying it like with more
- 36:17Speaker 4: gusto than I did, like at a speech or like
- 36:19Speaker 4: out remarks to some people at like whatever, but said
- 36:22Speaker 4: the shit out loud in public.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Yep, Jesus, did he hit the high note like bomb An?
- 36:30Speaker 4: If he did, it would be legendary, But I don't
- 36:32Speaker 4: think so.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Unfortunately, lazy piece of shits.
- 36:36Speaker 4: I'm glad he can't lift his shoulders above his head
- 36:39Speaker 4: arms head.
- 36:40Speaker 3: There's another Eric Prince backer they talk about in this
- 36:43Speaker 3: guy named Johnson Coe, who is a high ranking Chinese
- 36:47Speaker 3: government official. One of his companies makes jet packs and
- 36:50Speaker 3: invisibility cloaks.
- 36:52Speaker 4: So insane man, they were those were they were both
- 36:56Speaker 4: really cool. Like when they said that, I thought it
- 36:58Speaker 4: was like, oh, this is gonna be some like lame
- 36:59Speaker 4: science thing that is like we've made an electron invisible
- 37:02Speaker 4: with you know, but it was a fucking like Harry
- 37:06Speaker 4: Potter invisibility cloak. Yeah.
- 37:08Speaker 2: But like and the hovercraft was like they were like,
- 37:10Speaker 2: in case a rich guy is about to get overthrown,
- 37:12Speaker 2: we can swoop in and carry him out, like they don't.
- 37:15Speaker 2: We just shoot down to fucking hubbercraft.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Yeah, if one of our James Bond villains is facing
- 37:20Speaker 4: mortal peril, they can fly the fuck away.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Imagine flying away in that thing and just thinking,
- 37:26Speaker 3: oh man, I'm getting away, and then someone just shoots
- 37:29Speaker 3: you as you're fucking ascending into the sky. Because you're
- 37:32Speaker 3: not covered, you have no fucking cover from anything on
- 37:35Speaker 3: the ground, someone can just shoot you.
- 37:38Speaker 4: You know, they'll get that shit bulletproof by twenty thirty two.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true, and.
- 37:43Speaker 4: We'll be using lasers by then, so you know, maybe
- 37:45Speaker 4: it's maybe.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Probably what all those drones were, remember those.
- 37:50Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, God, it's been a time. It's speeding up. Yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 4: those drones are such bullshit. But that's for another episode. Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 4: those drones are like an older brothers bag full of
- 38:00Speaker 4: a Regan though he's like, oh no, it'll get you
- 38:02Speaker 4: fucked up man.
- 38:05Speaker 3: So this is called the grab because that's what they
- 38:08Speaker 3: call the scramble for land and water in Africa by
- 38:11Speaker 3: corporations and foreign governments.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Well, but also in America, right, Like China looks at us,
- 38:17Speaker 2: so like we're there Africa in Saudi Arabia, like, it's
- 38:21Speaker 2: crazy that we have like no protections here. It's crazy,
- 38:23Speaker 2: no one has any protection.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and the way it works here is more foreign
- 38:28Speaker 3: countries buying farms. So they're still buying land, it's just
- 38:31Speaker 3: not they're just not kicking poor Africans off that land
- 38:36Speaker 3: to take it. That's really the only difference. But otherwise, yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 3: they buy all this farmland, and it is specifically because
- 38:46Speaker 3: we are headed for a fight for resources in this
- 38:49Speaker 3: world and all these countries want to be ready.
- 38:53Speaker 4: You know the opening prequel of every Mad Max movie
- 38:56Speaker 4: where they kind of tell you how we all got here.
- 38:58Speaker 4: We're in the like you know, we're in the middle
- 39:01Speaker 4: of the end of that.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Yeah, this is the rare documentary that, at least in
- 39:08Speaker 3: one small way made me agree with Christi Nome a
- 39:11Speaker 3: little bit because Christi nom former governor of South Dakota.
- 39:16Speaker 3: She's gonna be our fucking what is she director of
- 39:20Speaker 3: Homeland Security? Now?
- 39:21Speaker 2: I think, oh god.
- 39:23Speaker 3: She at one point signed a bill in South Dakota
- 39:27Speaker 3: that outlawed Chinese companies from buying farmland in South Dakota,
- 39:33Speaker 3: and people were like, oh, fucking racist. It's like, ah,
- 39:37Speaker 3: I don't know if that's the worst thing Christy Nome's
- 39:40Speaker 3: ever done.
- 39:41Speaker 4: Interesting, Yeah, Jane, I probably looked crazy at the time.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Yeah, well, it's the same thing with COVID and Trump
- 39:48Speaker 3: shutting down the border to China. When he did, motherfuckers
- 39:52Speaker 3: howled about how racist that was when it happened, and
- 39:56Speaker 3: it was absolutely the right choice, like we should I
- 40:00Speaker 3: have done it a little sooner, if anything, but you know,
- 40:03Speaker 3: broken clock.
- 40:04Speaker 4: And you know how mad I was when on top
- 40:06Speaker 4: of all that, I found out that Christinom is not
- 40:09Speaker 4: three feet.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Tall, she doesn't even have a beard.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Waste of fucking time, and forget about a cool hat
- 40:17Speaker 4: with a little dingleberry at the bottom.
- 40:20Speaker 3: I did not know Russia is responsible for twenty nine
- 40:22Speaker 3: percent of the global wheat trade. That's a lot, old, ye,
- 40:26Speaker 3: that's a lot.
- 40:27Speaker 4: That's that's even in their frozen state. Imagine when they
- 40:30Speaker 4: go full Iowa mode, when when fucking comme unlocks their
- 40:35Speaker 4: true potential.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I had no idea that was happening.
- 40:39Speaker 2: But I mean it's older, like Europe and like the
- 40:41Speaker 2: Middle East, right, Like it makes sense based on their placement,
- 40:44Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, and highlighting like the War in Ukraine
- 40:48Speaker 2: for fucking was is for resource is fucking crazy.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Speaking of the War in Ukraine, one of the things
- 40:54Speaker 3: they talk about is when Russia annexed Primea. The first
- 40:59Speaker 3: thing Ukraine did when Russia went into Crimea is they
- 41:04Speaker 3: cut the water supply to Crimea off And they interview
- 41:08Speaker 3: the guy who made that decision, and he was like, well,
- 41:12Speaker 3: that's how you make your occupier spend the most amount
- 41:15Speaker 3: of money. They're gonna need water for whatever they're trying
- 41:18Speaker 3: to do there, and if they're constantly having to like
- 41:21Speaker 3: truck water in from somewhere else because there's no water
- 41:24Speaker 3: flowing to that area, that's gonna be really expensive and
- 41:27Speaker 3: time consuming. And it does seem like in part that's
- 41:31Speaker 3: why the War in Ukraine ended up happening. The first
- 41:35Speaker 3: thing Russia did was blow up the dam that Ukraine
- 41:38Speaker 3: put in place to stop that water from flowing into
- 41:41Speaker 3: crimea crazy.
- 41:43Speaker 4: Vladimir putin baby on day one, he bombs the dam.
- 41:46Speaker 4: About how long did it take Richard Nixon and Henry
- 41:49Speaker 4: Kissinger to blow up the dikes?
- 41:50Speaker 3: Right? What did we think of brig That guy was cool?
- 41:54Speaker 2: Its cool?
- 41:54Speaker 4: Aside from the what's what's Haverson Holversen Halverson Halliverson? Yeah,
- 42:01Speaker 4: aside from Harveston. He came off really as the hero
- 42:04Speaker 4: of the piece. And uh yeah, like just like one
- 42:06Speaker 4: of those stories about someone doing something very important that's
- 42:09Speaker 4: like barely working out, but it's working on just a
- 42:11Speaker 4: little bit, and that's Yeah.
- 42:15Speaker 2: He could have just stayed he went to Georgetown. He
- 42:17Speaker 2: could have just chilled and not but he went back.
- 42:20Speaker 4: He could have made some cash.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And he does successfully get a whole group
- 42:25Speaker 3: of people there. Not only he gets their land back,
- 42:28Speaker 3: but also they get reimbursed for all the shit that
- 42:32Speaker 3: corporation destroyed and they took their land. At least that
- 42:35Speaker 3: was the court ruling. Whether they've gotten that ship back, yeah,
- 42:39Speaker 3: who knows, but at least you know, the last part
- 42:43Speaker 3: of the documentary is very upbeat granted. It starts with
- 42:47Speaker 3: them basically saying, you know, this is pretty much unstoppable.
- 42:51Speaker 3: This is just gonna keep happening and there's not much
- 42:53Speaker 3: we can do about it. But then they're like, but
- 42:56Speaker 3: unless these things happen, and I don't think any of
- 42:59Speaker 3: those things, is it gonna happen.
- 43:01Speaker 2: No, we'll give.
- 43:02Speaker 4: It to them book, Come on, Adam, give it to
- 43:04Speaker 4: them straight.
- 43:06Speaker 3: It seems like we're counting on a team up of
- 43:09Speaker 3: like venture capitalists and the intelligence community to save us,
- 43:13Speaker 3: and that doesn't seem likely.
- 43:15Speaker 4: Yeah, and then there's like, you know, a lot of
- 43:17Speaker 4: community active activism angles, and it seems like brig is
- 43:21Speaker 4: good like one some some cases and gotten people like
- 43:23Speaker 4: the rights to their land back. But this is the
- 43:25Speaker 4: chick out in Arizona who's like leads this bipartisan group
- 43:28Speaker 4: of people trying to reclaim their water rights. I mean,
- 43:31Speaker 4: I don't remember any happy ending with her attached to
- 43:34Speaker 4: her story at the end of the montage, just so
- 43:36Speaker 4: she continues to fight on blah blah blah. Yeah, which
- 43:39Speaker 4: is not the shit on this lady. It's just to
- 43:41Speaker 4: say that this is a very uphill battle.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Not only is there not a happy ending, for her.
- 43:46Speaker 3: At one point, the filmmaker comes to her and it's like, hey,
- 43:50Speaker 3: you're not gonna believe what I found, But your pension
- 43:52Speaker 3: fund it actually financed, oh right, the takeover of that
- 43:57Speaker 3: farm by side interests. She's just like, fuck, man, what
- 44:01Speaker 3: do I do? What does anyone do? And like, I
- 44:04Speaker 3: don't know what to do. This is gonna have to
- 44:07Speaker 3: be a thing where you just make a law against
- 44:11Speaker 3: foreign countries buying our land, I think, right, dude.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I mean I don't know, Like when I watching this,
- 44:17Speaker 2: I just see a bunch of fucking middlemen that are
- 44:20Speaker 2: totally cool with it. Yeah, I'm like, it's just it's
- 44:24Speaker 2: stunning again the fucking cowboy who went to Russia to
- 44:26Speaker 2: help them, Like, it's a lot of fucking middlemen that
- 44:28Speaker 2: will just sell out for I don't know. It can't
- 44:31Speaker 2: be a shit ton of money.
- 44:32Speaker 3: I don't know. I bet, like, if it means that
- 44:36Speaker 3: much to Russia, I bet they're paying pretty well.
- 44:39Speaker 4: I think I think cash on hand for this kind
- 44:41Speaker 4: of shit, you know what I mean, Like sketchy country
- 44:43Speaker 4: like Russia, they got cash.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Yeah, or even like just the people who are like
- 44:47Speaker 2: working on those like foreign farms here in America.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so much.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Middleman.
- 44:52Speaker 3: They interview the I think it's the guy with the
- 44:54Speaker 3: British accent. I didn't write his name down, but he's
- 44:58Speaker 3: like a CEO or something of one of these corporate
- 45:00Speaker 3: owned farms, and they just kind of straight out ask
- 45:04Speaker 3: him like, you know, don't what if people like can't
- 45:07Speaker 3: get water and they die because of what you're doing?
- 45:10Speaker 3: And he's just like, ah, how you gonna do? You
- 45:13Speaker 3: know if we're gonna die? Baby?
- 45:16Speaker 2: Is that the guy that who also like turned at
- 45:18Speaker 2: the end and is now growing bacteria? Like right, they're
- 45:22Speaker 2: just they want to grow bacteria now to fucking feed
- 45:24Speaker 2: the cows?
- 45:25Speaker 3: Yes, they that seems.
- 45:27Speaker 2: The very last of us.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it does.
- 45:31Speaker 4: It's that seems like what does it suck to be
- 45:33Speaker 4: a cow? Hmm? Can't wait for that? By bacteria?
- 45:38Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 45:38Speaker 4: Can I give a complete dumb guy take just not
- 45:41Speaker 4: stupid as hell? I okay, So, knowing nothing about the
- 45:44Speaker 4: law as I do, when I found out that foreign
- 45:47Speaker 4: countries could buy land in America at all, it sounded
- 45:51Speaker 4: fucking insane to me. I thought, you got like one
- 45:52Speaker 4: embassy and that's it. That's all the fucking America you get.
- 45:55Speaker 4: Motherfucker I was very I didn't even know. It seems
- 45:58Speaker 4: weird that it's even something that it's allowed in the
- 46:00Speaker 4: first place.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean racism concerns aside, because that's what people
- 46:05Speaker 3: always bring up, is well, that's racist or that's xenophobic.
- 46:08Speaker 4: But I was taking America's a pretty racist country.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:12Speaker 3: And also, we need some level of control over our
- 46:15Speaker 3: food supply. That's a pretty fucking important aspect of national security,
- 46:21Speaker 3: and that where this lacks about it is really concerning.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Well, that's what happens when you make capitalism your god.
- 46:28Speaker 4: You have a better access to your supply of the
- 46:31Speaker 4: fucking scrunchies and yo plays. Then like, well, you'll play
- 46:36Speaker 4: this food, but you get what I'm saying, just meaningless products.
- 46:39Speaker 4: Then you do like actual the fundamentals of life, food
- 46:42Speaker 4: and water. You'll play though your plays. You fucking go
- 46:45Speaker 4: pretty hard. Especially you get that little metal lid you
- 46:47Speaker 4: can fuck around with.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good luck snack.
- 46:50Speaker 4: You can lick the lid.
- 46:51Speaker 3: I like it. It's great, pretty.
- 46:52Speaker 4: Good amount of You always get a nice amount of
- 46:55Speaker 4: yogat stuck to the lid, so it's like a little
- 46:56Speaker 4: extra bonus.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I give that to the kiddy.
- 47:00Speaker 4: Oh, that's because they like milk. That's cute.
- 47:02Speaker 3: So Brigg did win that lawsuit. We get that happy ending.
- 47:06Speaker 3: But yeah, a.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Lot of there's a reason his name's not brag.
- 47:12Speaker 3: But yeah, a lot of the ending is just like,
- 47:14Speaker 3: you know, if we stop eating so much meat, maybe
- 47:18Speaker 3: things will be fine. It's like, we're not gonna stop
- 47:20Speaker 3: eating meat.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Aren't they growing meat in labs? Where's that ship?
- 47:24Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:24Speaker 4: I mean I think it's right. It's it's across the
- 47:26Speaker 4: hall from the water. Desalination like not scalable.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Okay, in the middle school somewhere, I knew a kid
- 47:32Speaker 2: who built like a little desalination thing. So this was
- 47:35Speaker 2: sixth grade, So like, why can't we do that in
- 47:37Speaker 2: larger scale?
- 47:38Speaker 4: Because I think there's more than There's more than table
- 47:40Speaker 4: salt in the water. There's like like shit that could
- 47:43Speaker 4: grow in your stomach and kill you, like right, like
- 47:45Speaker 4: bacteria and shit.
- 47:46Speaker 2: But like again, I think that's what those titties when
- 47:49Speaker 2: you go to San Diego for.
- 47:50Speaker 4: Those are nuclearies milk the actor, are they?
- 47:55Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:55Speaker 4: Yeah, those are nuclear titties, ti radioactive titties. You never
- 48:00Speaker 4: saw was it naked gun or airplane or which movie,
- 48:02Speaker 4: like one of those movies.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Maybe we can be sure, why is desalination so difficult?
- 48:08Speaker 3: We should figure that out on this episode. So yeah,
- 48:12Speaker 3: that's kind of I mean, that's where the documentary ends.
- 48:15Speaker 3: It's a lot of Yeah, if we make some changes,
- 48:18Speaker 3: we could put a stop to this, but it's probably not.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Oh and desalination is horrifically expensive.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Yeah that makes sense.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, but see that's the kind of thing.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Where it could get cheaper at some point. You never know, Like, yeah,
- 48:33Speaker 3: that's always the thing you have to keep in your
- 48:36Speaker 3: in the back of your mind about alarming shit like this.
- 48:40Speaker 3: There are people working on it, and there might be
- 48:43Speaker 3: advances in the technology that will make desalination so much
- 48:47Speaker 3: cheaper and easier that we can just implement that wide
- 48:50Speaker 3: scale and then we'll just drink all of the ocean,
- 48:53Speaker 3: fucking all of it.
- 48:54Speaker 4: But at the bottom of the ocean gets what we
- 48:56Speaker 4: find Atlantean technology, and that is what we're stores the
- 49:00Speaker 4: balance of Earth. Yep, yeah, that's literally that's the That
- 49:03Speaker 4: is the most plausible scenario where shit works out fine.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Atlantean technology, dude, I.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Mean, this whole movie just made fear. This whole documentary
- 49:11Speaker 2: made me feel fucking stupid as shit for having a
- 49:13Speaker 2: kid right now, because she's gonna grow up with like
