- 0:08[snorts] >> I survived. >> Yeah, you sound much better.
- 0:14>> I feel a million times better this week. I >> and sound a million times better.
- 0:19>> And I I actually didn't even go back to work last week because I actually got worse.
- 0:24>> Jeez. >> Yeah. >> Really? [ __ ] hell. All right.
- 0:27>> When I finally went to the doctor and got tested. Yeah. I had the flu.
- 0:31>> Huh? The real flu. >> The real flu. Not the flu where you hear
- 0:35where people come back from a day off work. Oh, you had the flu yesterday and
- 0:38then they're back at work after a day. No, you didn't. >> Get a little sniffle. >> Yeah,
- 0:42>> the flu is horrible. >> Yeah. No, I've had the flu. It's Yeah, it's sucks. >> Yeah,
- 0:48>> it's real bad. I got pneumonia, I think, when I got the flu the first time cuz I
- 0:52was like, "Ah, whatever." And then Yeah. No, don't do that. No, I don't know
- 0:58where people got the flu and the cold confused because they are very different
- 1:02things. I've had a cold. I've had the flu. >> I'd much rather a cold.
- 1:07>> The flu you just Well, when I get the flu, I only had a couple times. I think
- 1:11that's the thing. It's not as common as people say it is cuz they would go, "Oh,
- 1:15I had the flu." Like, no, you probably didn't. But it just everything [ __ ]
- 1:19hurts and it's just Yeah, it's brutal. >> Hurt. I couldn't talk. I was coughing. Um,
- 1:24>> you can see from my Xbox playing there was like 5 days I did not get a
- 1:31achievement. Like could not get out of bed. Could not do anything.
- 1:35>> That's how well, you know, normally you get asked for a doctor's note. Luke's
- 1:39work asks him for his [ __ ] achievement. [laughter] >> Yep.
- 1:43>> List print out from the last week and then they're like, there's no way he was
- 1:47he was slacking. [laughter] >> This would be much higher if he was not sick.
- 1:52>> Exactly. Now I have to go back to work next week.
- 1:55>> And it's not like I'm coming off from a holiday or anything. It's not something
- 1:58I did something fun. >> No, no, I'm back.
- 2:04>> You done anything fun? >> Um I'm kind of limited in what I can do
- 2:09because of my back. So I've done we did do some stuff. I did we went out um took
- 2:14LAR to a farm that was having a thing last weekend and I >> Yep.
- 2:17>> I did have to say at one point >> I have to stop walking around now. Mhm.
- 2:22>> So, which I hate, >> but uh Yeah. >> No, you do need to accept what your body
- 2:29tells you. >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they were digging around inside my spine. I'm going to
- 2:34give myself some cut myself some slack. [laughter] >> Yes. >> But I'm surprisingly
- 2:40mobile. I I Yeah, I'm surprised. >> Yeah.
- 2:44>> I mean, yeah. Like I said, the day after the surgery when the PT came in said,
- 2:49"All right, time to get out of I was like, "Yeah, right. >> They are horrible people."
- 2:55Physiootherapists. >> No, don't convinced that they tortured
- 3:00puppies as children and then grew up and went, "How can I get paid to hurt people?"
- 3:05>> One of the things, "Does that hurt?" And you say, "Yes." And they go, "Good. Keep
- 3:10doing that." [laughter] >> Yeah. Look, I know they're just doing their
- 3:15job and they are lovely people, but I still like and I've got friends who are
- 3:18physiootherapists and I say that to their face. >> Yeah.
- 3:20>> That you're a horrible person and I hate you. >> Yeah, she did. She got me, made me get
- 3:26up, made me walk around the ward. >> Yeah. >> With a frame and then took the frame off
- 3:31me and put it further down the hallway and said, "Walk to it. If you want it,
- 3:34come and get it." >> That [laughter] was a bit mean.
- 3:38>> I don't But they're just doing it cuz the sooner you do get up and moving
- 3:41mobile, the better it is. Like it's it's a fact. But
- 3:44>> and then mentally too, once I did it, I was like, "Oh, I can." >> Yeah. >> Like Yeah.
- 3:49>> Yeah. >> But >> yeah, lying there, I was like, "This is not going to happen."
- 3:55>> Like um and then But then once you're up, you go, "Oh, okay. I can Yeah.
- 3:59>> Yeah. Actually, once you're up, it's not as bad. It's the getting up."
- 4:04>> Well, in this case anyway. >> Yeah. No, I can understand that.
- 4:09Well, I did manage to get out last night. >> You escaped movies.
- 4:15>> Okay. All right. What did you see? >> I saw the end of Oak Street.
- 4:20>> This is the um You and McGregor in his shorts movie. >> He looks great in shorts.
- 4:24>> Yeah. Okay. >> We need more of that. >> More shorts.
- 4:28>> Um I think you're going to like the soundtrack. >> Okay.
- 4:32>> I don't know. For some reason, the soundtrack it just at one point I was
- 4:35listening to it. went, "Oh, >> who is who who did that street
- 4:39composer?" >> Oh, Michael Jino. Yeah. Okay, makes sense. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right.
- 4:45>> Cuz normally I don't hear the soundtrack. >> I I know I hear it, but not
- 4:51>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> You don't notice it. >> Yeah. Which is sometimes a good thing.
- 4:57>> Yeah. Depends. >> Depends. Like sometimes if you notice
- 5:01it, you go, it can be a bad thing as well. But this time I noticed I went,
- 5:04"Oh, I like this." I went Matt will like this as well.
- 5:07>> I probably will. He's pretty good. >> It was a strange movie.
- 5:11>> Okay. Okay. My understanding I've seen the trailer. Let me This is what it's about.
- 5:18>> The neighborhood gets transported somewhere else that is not planet Earth
- 5:22perhaps or not. >> It is Earth. >> It is Earth. Wrong time period or something.
- 5:26>> Wrong time period. >> There's a dinosaur. >> There's dinosaurs. And there's dinosaurs
- 5:30with feathers. >> Oh, like real ones. >> Yes.
- 5:35And it's it's a good movie. There was a few plot points that sort of were just I
- 5:39think thrown in but didn't really go anywhere or pan out I don't think. >> Okay.
- 5:44>> I think they were I could see what they were trying to do with trying to have
- 5:47like a little bit of a spoiler like the couple was having problems because he
- 5:53wasn't talking cuz he got fired and all this stuff like but it didn't really
- 5:56lead to any I don't think there was any resolution. It was just
- 6:00>> they were fighting a little bit and then they were happy. because they were dinosaurs.
- 6:04>> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And I enjoyed it. I watched it. Um it
- 6:10doesn't explain why they were transported back. >> Oh, it does explanation for that.
- 6:14There's no >> I mean that's probably for the best to be honest.
- 6:19>> Aliens all this. It was just >> this just magically happened and we go with that now.
- 6:25>> Yeah. >> And there were a couple of funny parts in it.
- 6:30>> Okay. Like when you knocks out a TR Tinosaurus Rex with a sledgehammer.
- 6:36>> Really? >> I laughed. >> All right. This is one of the many, many
- 6:42films that has Anne Hathaway in it at the moment, too. Right.
- 6:44>> Yes. She's really made a big comeback lately, hasn't she?
- 6:47>> We went to see Repo. Actually, it was Repo. Screening Repo. Rest in peace.
- 6:52Anthony Head. >> Stewart Head. >> Anthony Stewart Head. Yeah. >> Yeah. [laughter] Uh
- 6:58um our friend was mocking our pronunciation of Yes. >> Anthony Stewart Head's name
- 7:05>> and my eyebrows even. >> Yes. >> Anyway, uh at a screening of repo and
- 7:10all the trailers I think every trailer before it and Hatheraway was in the
- 7:14[ __ ] movie. It was like the Odyssey, the end of Oak Street, uh the
- 7:19>> what's that sequel? Devil. No, >> there was part of two. Yep.
- 7:23>> Yeah, I think I think it was that. >> I think it might have been that. Um It
- 7:26was just a whole bunch of them. It was And then somebody somebody
- 7:28[clears throat] said, "Is she in [ __ ] Every movie?"
- 7:31>> Um, and while I was watching this, there was a trailer for another movie that she's in.
- 7:37>> Good. >> Um, what is it? It's a movie. I think it's coming out this year. Um, where is
- 7:42it? It's She plays an author. It looks like a bit of a horror type.
- 7:47>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Another one. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I think that, too, actually. What
- 7:52is that? It's her and um >> yeah um >> who's the other girl? >> The other one
- 7:58>> and Josh Hartnett's in it. Um >> yeah and
- 8:01>> and Hathaway Josh Hartnet movie uh it's called Varity.
- 8:08>> Varity. Yes. >> And the other girl is Dakota Johnson.
- 8:15>> Dakota Johnson. >> God, she's very forgettable. >> I have not seen her in anything
- 8:18actually. I don't think she was in meant to be in she was in 50
- 8:23[laughter] Shades of Gray, wasn't she? That was her >> That was the Yeah, the main the the
- 8:27Yeah. >> Yeah. And I never saw that. >> Yeah. I haven't seen that.
- 8:32And I know she's in um what's that Spider-Man one? >> Oh, Madame Web.
- 8:38>> Madame Web. Yeah. >> Never saw that. >> No. >> Uh
- 8:43yeah. No, I've not I'm looking at I've not seen >> Austral Oh, no. Austin. [laughter]
- 8:50My eyes failed me. I thought it said
- 8:52Australia. No, Austin. Flesh impact.
- 8:58Okay. >> Yeah. No, there's nothing on here.
- 9:03That's [laughter] >> No. Oh,
- 9:09>> Job. I have no idea who she is in it. >> She's done some weird stuff. Oh, she was
- 9:13in the social network. I've seen that. >> I haven't seen that.
- 9:16>> Haven't you? You didn't see the social network. >> I just know of it.
- 9:20>> That's a good movie. >> Should watch that. >> Need for Speed. I haven't seen that. 50
- 9:26Shades of Gray. [clears throat] Oh, she's in Seria remake. I haven't seen that, but I
- 9:32should watch that. [snorts] >> Anyway. >> Yeah. So, yeah. No, that's why that's
- 9:37why we forget her cuz >> that's why I forget. >> Oh, she's just she's just kind of
- 9:40forgettable anyway. Anyway. >> Yeah. >> Um Okay. Okay, so Anne Hathaway is good in
- 9:45the end of Oak Street is >> she she's good in it. >> Y McGregor's legs amazing. [laughter]
- 9:51I don't know why he just looks funny wearing shorts.
- 9:56And he does look like that typical 80s dad. >> Sure,
- 9:59>> cuz it's like set in like 82 like that typical like >> Is it okay?
- 10:04>> Yeah. >> Interesting. Is it a prequel to Jurassic
- 10:09Park? Must be if they go back in time. >> That's how that works. Yeah. Yeah,
- 10:14there's a movie with dinosaurs in it. It's related to Jurassic Park. >> Mhm.
- 10:20Well, I've not Have I watched any movies this week? I don't think so.
- 10:25>> I have watched uh So, Silo's back. You've watched Silo?
- 10:30>> No, I didn't know Silo's back. Now, I'm going to have to get um
- 10:33>> Wait, you didn't know season 3 was airing? >> No.
- 10:37>> Oh, okay. So, season 3 is happening and it's uh it's excellent.
- 10:42>> Yes. I won't spoil anything. >> I'm hoping it's better than season two.
- 10:45Season two, I thought >> it is better than season two. >> Yeah,
- 10:48>> I I still like season two, but yeah, I I know what you mean.
- 10:51>> It felt like it was dropping off a little bit. I think it
- 10:54>> it felt like it was losing steam a little bit. So, I'm happy that season 3 is back
- 10:58>> and is better. >> Yeah, it's good. It's very good. It
- 11:01>> is it doing a sort of flash forward flashback thing?
- 11:05>> Does it focus on the before the time that >> How do you know that? But yeah, that was
- 11:10at the end of season. Yeah. >> Yes. Episodes are split,
- 11:17>> although it's still um mostly silo like mostly,
- 11:23>> you know, the Rebecca Ferguson. >> Yeah. >> Plot. >> Um
- 11:28although there are I think there was a there's one episode that was mo either
- 11:32mostly or completely I think mostly. I think it still had some silo stuff, but
- 11:36mostly in in like the I guess it's present day or or near future or whatever.
- 11:42>> Um, >> yeah. >> So, he did just steal from Fallout the writer.
- 11:48>> Well, it's interesting, right? because this I don't cuz I don't want to spoil
- 11:53anything, but [clears throat] >> I'm like we're learning things about the
- 11:59world and why things are the way they are and all that
- 12:02>> and I just have more and more questions and I'm like I [ __ ] hope there are
- 12:07answers to these questions that are satisfying. >> Well,
- 12:11>> because something happens and you go, wait, >> what? And I'm pretty like it's got to be
- 12:17intentional. They're really hopefully it is because the whole idea is it's based
- 12:21off the books. The books have already finished, right? So, it's not like
- 12:24they're doing a Game of Thrones where we're going to have to make it up as we
- 12:27go along at the end. >> And it's set for four seasons. So, I
- 12:31think they've already got everything mapped out for it. So, hopefully does
- 12:36>> I I just hope. And it made me wonder too like some of some stuff I'm like like
- 12:41what? And then to the point where I was thinking so he wrote the books, right?
- 12:46He wrote I know I know Wool is the first book and I think it's like roughly season one of
- 12:53>> Yeah. >> Hyo. >> And so like some of the stuff that we're
- 12:58finding out this season I'm like did he plan all that out and then just just
- 13:02have the restraint to write the book
- 13:05Wool that became Silo that like it wasn't really standalone cuz spoilers
- 13:11end of season one Jules goes out. >> Yeah.
- 13:14>> Right. But but it was like fairly
- 13:19restrained seemingly after like some of the like I said some of the stuff that
- 13:25you're finding out it's just like man like >> that it that could be sometimes it's
- 13:30like this he wrote the first book and it may have been a bit of a standalone
- 13:33because her just leaving that can be the end of that novel and then
- 13:37>> I mean it's interesting >> I want to know did he have all this
- 13:41other stuff in mind and he just restrained himself to make to kind of make this story
- 13:47>> or >> did is is this one of those cases where like you know like lost or whatever
- 13:53where he was making up [ __ ] as he went along and I'm and this is not going to
- 13:56go anywhere that's satisfying. >> Hopefully it's like the writer of
- 13:59Babylon 5. I forget his name but he had all five seasons like
- 14:04>> Mhm. worked out like and that's why he didn't let anyone add libert was no you
- 14:09have to read this and some of the things it was setting up stuff
- 14:13like in season one was setting up stuff for season 3
- 14:16>> like he was very strict on no you can't do this because
- 14:20>> this is he already knew what was going to happen
- 14:23>> yeah well I I hope that's the case I don't want to look anything up because
- 14:27I'm really enjoying it and I don't want to spoil anything like at the end when
- 14:30when the whole thing is finished I am going to look up more about the author
- 14:34And I'll probably maybe I'll read the books and just see like like was all
- 14:38this planned from the beginning or was he just pulling [ __ ] out of his ass. And I guess
- 14:42>> how satisfying the end is is probably going to tell me >> because
- 14:46>> I guess I'm going to have to get Apple again.
- 14:49>> It's good. It's good. Like I said, it's just that just >> more and more questions like
- 14:56Yeah, cuz and then like Yeah, like I said, we're watching it and then something
- 15:01comes up and then I'm like, "Oh, okay. Hang on. What about this thing? And then
- 15:05Jenna's like, "Oh, yeah." And then there's something else and you go, "Oh, okay.
- 15:09>> That's why." >> Like, and then I just hope it's all like that where it's like, "Yeah,
- 15:14satisfying." >> Unlike like when Seance when we had the goats >> and then
- 15:19>> Yeah. I didn't like that. >> And then I look up and it's like the
- 15:23goats and it's all like, >> "Oh, we just thought it'd be weird and
- 15:26cool to have the goats." Yeah. No. Okay. Don't do that. >> No.
- 15:32We if you got to do it, have a reason or it would have been best if they had have
- 15:36just not mentioned the goats ever again. >> Yes, I agree. Yeah.
- 15:41Yeah. Anyway, yeah, it all feels like it's going somewhere and I just really >> Yeah.
- 15:46>> Okay. Well, there's what two more episodes to come out. So,
- 15:52there's 10 episodes and the last one comes out 4th of September. So, I think
- 15:55it's a good time for me to get Apple. Also, I think Ted Leo's out as well.
- 15:58>> It is. Jenn's been watching it. I've never seen Ted Lasso. I've heard it's
- 16:02very good. Oh, Jenny's telling me it's very good, too.
- 16:04>> I really enjoyed it because it was actually it's a nice show. Like even in
- 16:08the first season, in the first season, you feel like they're making out this
- 16:13person's going to be the villain. She's going to do all this evil stuff, but
- 16:15then no, she's just >> person's gone through a divorce and
- 16:18yeah, everyone's just nice. It was different >> apart from always having like an evil
- 16:23person and was just Yeah. Oh, >> one other thing with Silo, I was
- 16:29enjoying it so much that we've actually we started re-watching again from the
- 16:32start. And I will say this, >> there is stuff in season one that on
- 16:36rewatch I go, "Ah, okay. That has that was always there, just you didn't know
- 16:41what it was kind of thing." >> Yeah. >> So, okay, that is the case. >> All right.
- 16:46>> All right. Well, I will try I will get Apple TV and I will watch it. [snorts]
- 16:52>> You should. Damn you, Apple. Every time I get rid of you, you bring something up
- 16:58back in. They >> got [snorts] good stuff on Apple. >> They do, but then they don't.
- 17:02>> Mhm. >> Like, they've got good stuff. They don't have They don't They also don't have a
- 17:06big library. >> Yeah. But that's all right. You can just
- 17:09cancel it when you're not using it. >> Yeah. But the problem is is I get it and
- 17:12then I forget to cancel it. And then when I go in and cancel it, I'll see
- 17:15something I want to watch. >> Mhm. >> It's a never- ending cycle.
- 17:20>> I've got Netflix at the moment. Literally the only thing being watched
- 17:23on Netflix, as far as I'm aware, is My Little Pony. >> Oh, you've become a Brody.
- 17:30>> I've been dragged into it by my daughter. Yeah. [snorts]
- 17:32>> Kicking and screaming, I'm sure. >> She has watched all of My Little Pony.
- 17:38Like, as in the whole show, >> I think three or four times now. >> Oh god.
- 17:43>> She just keeps watching it. >> Wow. >> She's not doesn't watch anything else.
- 17:48Like whenever we whenever she's like and we don't always let her watch. >> No. >> Like
- 17:54>> that's that's all she wants to watch. >> I thought she'd be getting out of that
- 17:56age of just watching the same thing over and over, but
- 17:59>> No, this is the this is the most she's re watched and re-watched something. >> Okay.
- 18:04>> Yeah, she's done this before where she just becomes hyperfocused on one thing.
- 18:09>> That's us U usually what happens is she just watches the same thing a lot, but
- 18:12this has been a while now. >> Yeah. And well, it's a bit different.
- 18:16She's She's watching the entire thing, not just particular episodes now. And
- 18:20>> Right. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Cuz I said something about Blueie
- 18:23the other day. She has a Bluey bowl and I said something about, "Oh, yeah, Blue
- 18:26is good, right?" And she goes, "Yeah, I just don't really want to watch Blueie
- 18:29anymore." Fair enough. [laughter] >> Blue is dead to me.
- 18:34>> Yeah. Oh, did you see the Bluey movie? >> There's a Bluey movie.
- 18:38>> It's coming out. It's been uh somewhat controversial because it appears to be a
- 18:433D animated movie. 3D. >> Yeah. Bluey movie. Uh the little preview
- 18:50they show. Yeah. There you go. You can see. And people are like, "Why have you done this?"
- 18:57>> Yeah. Yeah. >> We moved away from 3D.
- 19:03>> And why would Blueie? >> Yeah, I know. Yeah. Look up. Yeah. Look
- 19:07up images of it. You can see Bluey and Bingo 3D. >> Yeah. Look full CG 3D animation make
- 19:13major shift. Yeah. That's seems to that seems very strange. >> Yeah, but
- 19:18>> this is a big swing. >> I mean, it certainly looks cute. And uh >> although
- 19:24>> I like Bluey. So, >> I haven't been hearing a lot about
- 19:26Blueie lately, so maybe they're trying to do something different to get people
- 19:30interested again. >> Oh, I was going to say you ha you've
- 19:33been hearing or you haven't been? >> No, I haven't. Like Bluey's sort of gone
- 19:36quiet here as well. >> Well, they stopped making episodes of the show like
- 19:39>> Oh, they did? >> Yeah. >> Oh, I didn't know that. >> Yeah. And then they wrapped it up
- 19:43basically with um season 3. So >> Oh, >> it was like a big >> really
- 19:49>> long episode at the end which was very good. >> Well, it isn't if you run out of ideas.
- 19:55>> Yeah. >> Stop printing money. >> Yeah. >> And all the kids all watch the same
- 20:01episode, two episodes only anyway. So, >> but like I mean there's a lot of
- 20:06episodes and if like I said if they felt like they were they'd run its course.
- 20:11>> Yeah. Yeah. Stop. Do it. >> Okay. And then they're making a 3D
- 20:16movie. >> Yeah. I mean, I'll go see it. I'll have to. I'll be forced to. My daughter will
- 20:22make me. >> Yep. Um, drum answers to why the movie is 3D
- 20:28and not 2D. >> And Oh, he's talking so I can't hear. >> Yeah. Okay.
- 20:34Um, I got a little bit of followup for you. >> Okay. We were talking about the God of
- 20:39War show. >> Yes. >> Dave Batista. >> Yep.
- 20:43>> Was uh rumored to have been up for the role of Kattos now that the the other
- 20:48guy hurt himself and they have to reshoot the whole [ __ ] show. >> Yep.
- 20:52>> Uh it's official. Dave Batista is >> Kattos.
- 20:56>> Yeah. And I'm still going off the thing that
- 21:01I think him getting hurt is still just it worked out well for him because he
- 21:05wasn't working as Kattos. >> Okay. >> Yeah. [clears throat] >> So they took this chance to
- 21:12>> That's rough. >> I I really do think it is though.
- 21:16>> You think they would have waited for him otherwise?
- 21:17>> I think they would have waited if he was really good with all the money that
- 21:20they'd already invested at. It's 6 months I think it was going to be. It's already been
- 21:26>> six months since they stopped [laughter] it. >> Like
- 21:32>> it does seem like it took a while, but Yeah. >> Yeah.
- 21:36>> While he signed on, it's not like they started yet. >> Yeah.
- 21:43No, it it didn't take long. Yeah. He's going to have to bulk up
- 21:48again. That's this article's pointing out, which I thought, too, because Yeah.
- 21:52De Batista is not as big anymore. You like He cuz I think he wanted
- 21:57>> he he was sort of I think even before The Rock was trying to go I want to be
- 22:01an actor not the muscle guy. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. He's always said that
- 22:05which was interesting because I I we talked last week I watched Spectre which
- 22:09I think is the one of the first films he did but he doesn't say anything much. He
- 22:13says one line. >> Yeah. >> Um >> and people were like he's a wrestler.
- 22:19He's not a >> an actor. And he was never he's never
- 22:26wait true. I haven't seen him in anything where he's actually like a main
- 22:32like a leading man, right?
- 22:34>> Um you would have saw that Living Dead movie. He was in that.
- 22:41>> You're right. >> Yep. >> All right. Fine. >> Yeah.
- 22:46>> Yeah. Okay. You're right. I know recently saw in something called Uber.
- 22:51>> It's about cars. Is it about getting >> him being a cop who can't see? So hire
- 22:56an Uber to take him around. >> Oh, okay. >> He was good in that.
- 23:01>> How do you be a whatever? [laughter] >> It's a comedy.
- 23:04>> He was getting um work done on his eyes and so was blind for a little bit.
- 23:10>> Oh, okay. Having a blind cop. That'd be a good sitcom. [laughter]
- 23:16>> Yeah. Anyway, I just Good luck to him. >> So, he's putting on the pounds now.
- 23:22>> He's gonna have to He's gone all small. He's gotten small.
- 23:25>> Yeah, when people were calling him out for it, it's Oh my god. >> What?
- 23:30>> Who is this guy? >> What are you? >> Ryan Hurst. God, he's scary.
- 23:35>> What? That's the guy who was Kattos before? >> Yeah. No, I just saw a picture of him
- 23:39>> as Kattos or just in life? >> Just in just him. >> Ryan Hhurst.
- 23:44>> Oh, yeah. I don't think I'd actually seen him. [laughter]
- 23:51>> Just not seen him in life. >> No, that's okay. So, yeah, David Pista, good
- 23:57on you. >> Yeah, congrats, mate. >> I'm probably still not going to watch this cuz
- 24:02>> I'm not a God of War fan. >> I've never I've played the old ones. I
- 24:07haven't played any of the new ones. Jenna played the the the new the the
- 24:12first of the new ones, just God of War, and said it was excellent. >> Yes.
- 24:17>> Um I mean, I have it. I just >> like I've played like some of the originals and just
- 24:23>> you bash stuff up. >> No, apparently >> I play the new ones with story.
- 24:29>> I should watch I should play it. I mean, but >> but look, if I didn't finish watching
- 24:34The Witcher, I'm not going to watch this. I didn't finish The Witcher either. I
- 24:39didn't get through season two of The Witcher. >> I watched all the Caval. Wait, did I
- 24:45>> I dropped out of season? Yeah, The Witcher. >> It dropped off really quickly.
- 24:51>> Yeah, season one was very good. >> Yes. >> Um
- 24:58>> Oh, this is a little bit of follow-up, I suppose. >> Yeah. >> Uh X-Men. >> Yes.
- 25:04>> Seen the news? I haven't. >> Have you? >> No. >> You don't know who Rogue is? You don't
- 25:10know who's playing rogue? >> Who's playing rogue? >> It says it there in the uh in the uh
- 25:15>> indeed >> article list. >> Navareti. >> Yeah, >> Navareti. >> You know her.
- 25:21>> Who do I know? What do I know? >> You know her from Obsession. >> Oh,
- 25:28>> yeah. >> She's great. She's not rogue. >> No, she is Rogue. That's what I'm
- 25:33telling you. I don't see her as being rogue. >> Well, you you will see her.
- 25:38>> You will see her being rogue because she is rogue. [laughter] She has been cast
- 25:42as rogue. >> So, uh yeah, last week we I think we said Samara Weaving was um
- 25:48>> Frost. >> Uh Adam Driver has been cast as Mr. Sinister, which is interesting. I
- 25:53haven't seen Mr. Sinister in any of this stuff yet. >> That's a big name.
- 25:58>> Mr. Sinister. It's quite long. >> I mean, Adam >> Oh, right. >> Yeah.
- 26:02>> Yeah. Yeah. Uh Maya Boyd, who I don't know who that is, but she is Storm. >> Storm.
- 26:09>> Um we already know Sadie Sink is Jean Gray. And what else we got? Uh oh,
- 26:15someone named Christopher Abbott is Professor X. Someone named Kit Connor is
- 26:20Cyclops. >> Okay. >> So, [clears throat] we don't get to see
- 26:26Patrick Shur come back. >> No. And there's no Wolverine. And
- 26:30there's no um Magneto. Well, >> not yet anyway. And um
- 26:36>> wonder if they'll give in and go with um Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine. [laughter]
- 26:42>> [ __ ] Daniel. [snorts] >> Hey, I've seen him. He has put on some
- 26:47muscle. He can put on muscle if he needs to. >> All right.
- 26:52>> But he's definitely no Hugh Jackman Wolverine.
- 26:56>> No. Or uh Henry Cavl.
- 27:00>> No. I actually watched that this week as uh last week. >> Yeah.
- 27:05>> Yeah. Just put why not threw that on. >> Deadpool vers Wolverine.
- 27:12>> Uh and as we we said Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider that's like kind of the
- 27:16Marvel casting news, I think. Um >> yeah.
- 27:19>> Now, are we going to see all of these in was it Doomsday this year?
- 27:25>> No. No. This is for like uh X-Men movies. And then also they said
- 27:31something about these guys are all signed on long term for like a bunch of
- 27:34movies and uh like okay that's interesting like I guess they're
- 27:39thinking of this like >> this is Spider-Man for a while now. I
- 27:44think they that's the plan is these guys are going to be the X-Men for a long time.
- 27:48>> Yeah. >> Cool. Uh, and the other thing that they
- 27:54did, Marvel put out, uh, I said last week I was going to have to rewatch some
- 28:00stuff and or or catch up before Doomsday. Uh, hopefully Marvel has or
- 28:05Disney has >> put up a watch list. >> These are things.
- 28:12>> Yeah. These are the things you should watch before Doomsday. And it's
- 28:14interesting to me because it includes, you will notice, look at the first two,
- 28:19>> the original X-Men movies. >> Yeah. Very interesting. >> That's interesting.
- 28:25>> I mean, I know uh Patrick Stewart and um Ian Mckllum
- 28:32are in it doomsday. So, I guess that's why >> uh interesting that it's just X-Men and
- 28:36X2 and none of the others. >> Um >> well, I think with X3, remember, I think
- 28:41that's where they've got the cure and stuff like that, which might throw a bit
- 28:44of a dampener on >> Last Stand. >> Yeah. And >> um I do like the fact that they do tell
- 28:49they the last two were the two movies I said that you should probably watch before
- 28:53>> which is just Thunderbolts and Fantastic 4. >> So well the thing that bothered No, it
- 28:58bothered me. The thing that annoyed me is that most of the ones I haven't seen
- 29:00are on here. >> Not all of them. So like X-Men obviously
- 29:04I've seen X2 seen Captain America the first Avenger. I'll rewatch that. It's a
- 29:07good movie. The Avengers good movie. Infinity War. Endgame. Uh Loki the show.
- 29:12I'd never watched season two. So that reminded me I do need to do that. Season
- 29:152, I don't think, was as good as season 1, but it was still good. >> Okay. >> Yep.
- 29:19>> Uh Shangi, uh I have seen that was that was all right. Uh Spider-Man No Way
- 29:24Home. Uh I have seen >> the one where they're in Europe, I think.
- 29:29>> No, that's the one where he they forget him, right? Isn't it? Isn't No Way Home
- 29:34>> or maybe I don't know. We've already gotten more confused.
- 29:37>> Not the one where they forget him. The one where he with all
- 29:40>> Oh, yes. The one where they forget him. >> Yeah. At the end they forget who he is. Yep.
- 29:44>> Um, Black Panther, Wakanda Forever, which is the one I haven't seen.
- 29:48>> Captain America: Brave New World. Haven't seen that.
- 29:51>> Deadpool and Wolverine, I have seen. >> Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of
- 29:54Madness. I did. >> Definitely seen that. >> Sam Ramy, I saw the [ __ ] out of that and
- 29:58I loved it. >> Uh, Thunderbolts, haven't seen. And Fantastic 4, haven't seen. So, I've got
- 30:04some homework. >> I do want to watch Doctor Strange again.
- 30:06Just the end of that where he's just the dead Doctor Strange. Just
- 30:11>> I [ __ ] loved it. I know it was I know it was not widely
- 30:15liked, but it was just so Sam Ramy. I
- 30:18[ __ ] loved it. I really did >> just for that just that last part of the
- 30:24movie I think is just worth watching the entire thing for
- 30:27>> dead souls and like oh man I loved it. >> So you do have a little bit of homework.
- 30:33You do have time. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I do. Well, do I? [laughter]
- 30:40But yes, uh maybe over the next few weeks I'll try and
- 30:47>> Yeah, I think there's only one thing on here I haven't seen, and that's Brave
- 30:50New World. >> Oh, all right. >> Cuz that's the
- 30:56Hold on. Have I? No, that's the Hulk one. Yeah. No, I haven't seen that one.
- 30:59>> The one with Harrison Ford. >> Yeah. Well, not Yeah, it's not Hulk, but it's Hulk.
- 31:04>> Yeah, Hulk. Hulkson Ford. >> Yeah, Hulkson Ford.
- 31:09I haven't seen X-Men and X2 in a long time and I will I'll rewatch those.
- 31:15Revisit our old friend Brian Singer. >> Mhm. >> Controversial popping his films on this
- 31:22list. [laughter] Controversial.
- 31:24This was pre the rumors
- 31:29and they're just rumors. >> Yeah. Yeah.
- 31:35>> Moving on. [laughter]
- 31:39Uh yeah. So, oh yeah, and then also I didn't put this in, but Dave Harbor, I don't know if
- 31:46this is like actually accidental or not. Dave Harbor in an interview recently
- 31:52was asked to say one of his lines from Doomsday. >> Okay.
- 31:58>> And the line he said, what he said was, "You're Tony Stark."
- 32:05And sorry that's a spoiler, but Dave Harour [ __ ] said it first, not me.
- 32:09And everyone's like, "Oh, does that mean
- 32:13Doom is Tony Stark in some capacity or will they address the fact that it's
- 32:19Robert Downey Jr. or because people were wondering like are they just going to
- 32:23not mention it?" >> Well, which would be ridiculous.
- 32:26>> Which would be ridiculous. And this might be like your Tony Kakus be like
- 32:31they're thinking he is, but he just cuz he looks like
- 32:34>> Yeah. [ __ ] with them as well. Like >> all I think it is is Doomsday cuz at the
- 32:40spoiler for the end of Fantastic 4, >> there's the end credit scene where you
- 32:44just see him there. Not you don't see Tony Stark or you just see Dr. Doom
- 32:50there. >> And so all it is is parallel universe. You got someone who look like Tony Stark
- 32:57is now Dr. Doom. Problem solved. And you can just go, "Hey, you're so I don't
- 33:02really think, but I know he would have got in trouble for that."
- 33:06>> Maybe, unless he was Well, yeah, I guess either way he might have got in trouble
- 33:09for it, but >> yeah. >> Yeah. I don't know. I just don't know if
- 33:11it means anything. Maybe he was [ __ ] around because >> maybe he is cuz it's it's
- 33:15>> because the same actor like >> Yeah, same actor. They have to address
- 33:19it somehow. can't just ignore it. That hold on, this bad guy we're fighting
- 33:23looks like our best friend who just died. >> Like, he might have just been messing.
- 33:28Maybe that's not a line from the movie. Maybe he's just being silly because I
- 33:32like We don't know. >> I think they're reading people are reading far too much into it.
- 33:37>> Or maybe they're not. Maybe that is a line from the movie and he did [ __ ] up.
- 33:39Who knows? >> And he did. But also, it doesn't change anything cuz I think they have to
- 33:45address that. >> Yeah, you'd think so. >> You look like our best friend. an accent
- 33:49too, right? So, obviously something's very Whatever. Who knows?
- 33:54>> Yeah. Look, I will let you know in December. >> Well, I'll see it, too. >> Oh, good.
- 34:00>> If I can manage to see all these other movies, I'll see it. [laughter]
- 34:03>> No, I feel like this is one This is I know it sounds silly because we were
- 34:07laughing about the fact that, oh, they think they have to bring everybody back.
- 34:09And I know I've said this before, but it seemed it has worked.
- 34:13>> There's way more interest in this one than there has in any other. I what I
- 34:16think it is is I think after Endgame I don't think they had a real big
- 34:20>> they did have a plan but I don't think it was well thought out. >> Mhm.
- 34:23>> I think they were still rushing to get movies out at the same flow without
- 34:27really having that interconnected thing. Whereas now I think coming into here I
- 34:32think they've they've got that plan. It was a bit more sturdy.
- 34:35>> Well they know where they're going. >> They had these characters people were
- 34:38very invested in in particular Captain America and Tony Stark and and then
- 34:41those characters just went away and so it was kind of like
- 34:44>> Yeah. And you can't, it's not like the comic books where you go, "Oh, now this
- 34:47person's that." And we just live with that. It's the comics are different. And
- 34:52also the comics reset every few years because >> because Yeah. [snorts]
- 34:58>> But they basically gave everybody a perfect jumping off point. So people >> like, "Yep,
- 35:04>> they're like, "Okay, I've had enough." What they should have done was just left
- 35:08it that left it for a few years and then do what they're sort of doing now but
- 35:12they're sort of not. It's just starting again. >> Yeah.
- 35:15>> Whereas they sort of are but they're sort of not. But I do feel like we are
- 35:20going to a new story arc this time as opposed to when we're getting like love
- 35:24and thunder and all of that. H I wonder if
- 35:30Captain America's back back or if he's in it just for a little bit or if he's
- 35:35in the whole movie and then he goes away at the end of the I feel like I don't know. It's
- 35:42>> Yeah, >> like if he dies at the end or something. It's
- 35:46>> all I know is like you've done this. >> All we know is Robert Downey Jr. is just
- 35:49so happy just going to the bank and cashing his checks. >> Yeah. >> [laughter]
- 35:56>> Yeah, >> cuz I think he he brings in the highest paycheck of all of them, I think.
- 36:01>> Mhm. Oh, he definitely he must. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. No, they've they spent a lot of
- 36:07money on uh on him for this movie, clearly. >> Yeah. >> And he's just going to be all the
- 36:12villains from now on. >> I don't even think they would have had
- 36:14to cuz I don't think he he I don't think he wanted to stop being
- 36:18>> Iron Man or anything. I don't think he wanted to leave. I think it was just his
- 36:22story to come to an end. If he had if dad had kept him around, he would have
- 36:24been happy. I think he's quite happy to >> just keep them. >> It's not like
- 36:29>> other characters who look I want to move on to other things. I think he will
- 36:32quite happily play this character until he dies. >> Well, why wouldn't you?
- 36:38>> Yeah. I think too the the uh Chris
- 36:42Hemsworth as well. I think as long as because he's complained before about um
- 36:49[clears throat] although I sorry he's complained that bulking up for Thor was
- 36:52difficult but he does this for everything now. So it's kind of like I
- 36:56feel like that complaint's kind of >> Yeah. >> can't be taken seriously because he's
- 37:01bulked up even more for other things. So >> but [snorts] you look at Tony Stark, he
- 37:05didn't need to bulk up at all. >> No, he didn't have to do that. Yeah. Exactly. like
- 37:10>> you just got to make a suit around you and away you go. Just don't put on any weight.
- 37:14>> Mhm. >> Don't get fat. >> Speaking of bulking up,
- 37:19uh I also watched the first episode of Reacher season 4. >> Ah, and uh
- 37:25>> Yeah, it's good. It's Yeah. Yeah. More the same thing. Yeah. It's just that
- 37:29whole thing where you got to get over the fact that he Yeah, exactly. He's in
- 37:32Philadelphia now and then something else happens.
- 37:35>> Yeah. gets involved and it's just like I mean that's the show. That's
- 37:40>> the show. You can't complain about it because that is it.
- 37:42>> Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. He he just gets mixed up in this [ __ ] and it's just like
- 37:47okay we're doing this again and >> and then he'll fight people and save the girl and
- 37:52>> do all that stuff. Yeah. >> And be enormous. >> Yeah.
- 37:56>> Um but I mean yeah it's more of the same. I like it. >> Yeah.
- 38:00>> But yeah, I think I think it's I think it's a good show. I don't think you
- 38:03could watch sit down and watch like all seasons in a I think you need a break between
- 38:07>> Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. Because I think if you were to
- 38:11watch them back to back to back, I think you go, >> "This is the same thing I'm watching
- 38:15again." Just [laughter] >> they've just changed this scenery around it.
- 38:20>> Yeah. Like he just happens to be in the right place when this big conspiracy
- 38:24thing happens. Yeah. Again. >> Again. >> Yeah.
- 38:28>> Like, okay, whatever. Just switch your brain off for a little bit and then
- 38:34>> Yeah. Yeah, it's it's fun. >> You need to do that every now and again.
- 38:40And I think it's good to switch your brain off. And it's like what Bruce
- 38:43Campbell's trying to hint at with the Evil Dead at the moment.
- 38:47>> Yeah. There a couple of two two pieces of Bruce Campbell Evil Dead news. >> Yeah. Um
- 38:52>> now the first one on here, I thought he'd said this a while ago that he's
- 38:56done playing Ash. >> He said that, but then he did it again.
- 39:00So I think maybe I don't know. Do we believe him this time? No, but he said
- 39:04after the television show. >> Yeah, I but I think what he said the
- 39:08first time was that he wouldn't be Ash in a movie or anything like that, but I
- 39:13think he's done video games and stuff since then. And this this is seems to be
- 39:17him saying he's completely done. He's not doing anything else as Ash.
- 39:20>> Oh, I I I I thought Yeah, I thought when he came out cuz I would
- 39:25>> You might be right. classify a video game as sort of being out of the picture because
- 39:31you go and do a little little bit of voice work and then you leave because
- 39:34the I don't think there's any major games out at the moment where like he's
- 39:38the main character or anything. >> Yeah. Okay. He specifically said Ash is
- 39:42done. I'm not going to do any animated voice work either.
- 39:46>> Okay. Yeah. I think he um cuz wasn't there uh
- 39:52dead was that dead by Dawn? What's that game? Is that dead? Dead by Daylight.
- 39:57>> Until No, not Until Dawn. Dead by Daylight. >> Dead by Daylight. Is that what it's
- 40:01called? Dead by Daylight. Yeah, >> Dead by Daylight. Yep. >> I think there was an Ash
- 40:06add-on for that. And I think he might have done stuff for that, but I Yeah,
- 40:08this is him saying he's not doing anything anymore. He's done. >> Yeah.
- 40:11>> Uh he may appear in photo frames in the background of a film. That's a [laughter]
- 40:16slight spoiler for uh The New Evil Dead.
- 40:20It's not a spoiler, but yeah. Um, and he's retired, but he also said something
- 40:27this week. Uh, I guess he saw the New >> board with Yeah.
- 40:32>> Yeah. He saw the New Evil Dead as well. And he says they need to lighten the hell up.
- 40:36>> Yeah. >> Which we said the same thing. They're not funny anymore.
- 40:40>> They're not funny anymore. They are just full on horror. That sort of that comedy
- 40:44aspect is gone. >> Yes. And it's it's not that they never had the horror,
- 40:50right? Because they do. They're they're extreme. They they've always been like on the
- 40:56extreme end of like gore and like that kind of thing, but they were light
- 41:02>> in a weird way. It was like comedy horror. >> Yes. >> And >> not anymore.
- 41:07>> Down with you could watch this when you were quite young and
- 41:11>> Yeah. Less so the first one. The first one. >> The first one. No, the first one was
- 41:16that far too young. >> Yeah. The first one was more
- 41:19>> But two and three. Oh, especially three. Two, I think is >> two's funny, too.
- 41:23>> Two. I think two is probably the right level. And >> I think Lost Horror.
- 41:29>> Yeah, you're right. A bit. Yeah. >> Three was just more of a comedy
- 41:33>> and also three was like a fantasy film time and all that [ __ ]
- 41:37>> Like Yeah. He goes back and he fights for King Arthur and >> Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 41:41>> I mean, it's a great movie, but >> Yeah, it's a great movie, don't get me
- 41:44wrong, but I think two was where they had that right mixture. [snorts]
- 41:48>> Yeah, Evil Dead 2 is great. Are they making a new Evil Dead soon?
- 41:52>> They are definitely making more Evil Dead. >> Um, in the newer movies they're coming.
- 41:57Evil Evil Dead. Ra Wraith. Wrath. >> Wrath. >> Wrath. Wraith. Wrath.
- 42:02>> So, but but I mean spoilers.
- 42:07What's her name's back somehow? We saw at the end of Evil Dead Burn. >> Ah, yes.
- 42:13>> Girl from Evil Dead Rise. >> Rise. Yes. is back. >> Yes.
- 42:20>> So, somehow, like I said, I thought she got they all got combined into that big
- 42:25[ __ ] monster demon thing at the end of that movie that >> But remember the rules about
- 42:32>> Oh, evil des. It makes no sense. [laughter] >> Yeah.
- 42:37>> Like sometimes this person could be um what what's the word I'm thinking of?
- 42:44>> Dead eye. >> The dead eye. Yeah. Some people can just
- 42:47turn into deadites and some people can't. And >> Oh, yeah. >> It's just
- 42:50>> Yeah. Sometimes people just turn into dead ice for no reason. Other times
- 42:53something needs to trigger it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Sometimes deadites can get decapitated
- 42:58>> and they're still >> alive and doing things. Other times they
- 43:02get their heads smashed and then they're just gone. They're dead. >> Yeah.
- 43:06>> So, yeah, the rules are whatever you feel like at the time.
- 43:10>> Yeah. Whatever serves the movie. >> Yeah. Which I'm okay with. But yeah, go
- 43:14I with Bruce just a little bit. >> Don't think about it too much. It's a It's
- 43:19>> If you think about it, it's not going to be good. >> But when they're funnier,
- 43:23>> it matters less they make sense. >> Yes. >> Because that's not the point. Yeah.
- 43:28Whereas with um Burn was, we've talked about this already. Burn was very dark. >> Oh yeah.
- 43:34>> And like >> still that that one scene where that fight's going in the background, she's
- 43:40scrambling away. That was that was awesome. But that could also be in one
- 43:44of the funny ones. Yeah, they still had those moments of like horror like >> Yeah.
- 43:49>> Yeah. >> So, we'll wait and see. I don't think it's going to happen this next movie.
- 43:55>> No, I mean they've set the set the tone, I think, for them.
- 43:59>> Yeah. I think when they go back and reset again,
- 44:01>> but I do think he's right. Like they should lighten up. Um >> Yeah.
- 44:06>> Yeah. Because they've lost the fun. Well, it's a different kind of fun.
- 44:10They've become more of like a gore porn kind of.
- 44:14>> Yeah. Or if I like the I like the fun. >> I like the silliness sometimes.
- 44:19>> The dancing furniture and the like I mean Army of Darkness is like the
- 44:24ultimate of it. It was basically a comedy. >> Yeah. I still for the longest time
- 44:30didn't know the actual ending to that movie was he just goes back to the real world
- 44:36>> cuz the only copy I had >> director's cut. >> Yeah. That's the only copy I'd ever seen.
- 44:41>> He sleeps too long and it's >> 20 years. He slept too long.
- 44:44>> Yeah. And the world's destroyed. >> Yep. And it was years later I was
- 44:48watching it on social thing and I went, "This isn't the ending."
- 44:51>> Yeah. He goes back and the dead are at Esmart. >> Yeah.
- 44:54>> Yeah. The the version I saw was the Esmart one.
- 44:58>> Yeah. I like the sleeping too long one. >> I just
- 45:02>> I would have loved to have seen a sequel to that. >> Yeah.
- 45:06>> Unfortunately, they've done that. He's done that to us twice. He did that for
- 45:09the ending of that army of darkness and then the ending of the television show.
- 45:14>> I don't remember the end of the television show. >> He ends up in the future and
- 45:21>> Oh, >> there's >> I'm going to rewatch the whole show. Maybe the end. >> I don't know.
- 45:27>> Yeah, he ends up in the future and they're not You need to come save us.
- 45:30Jump on the back of this thing. And there's a girl I think with like an arm
- 45:35missing, but it's a robotic arm now and chain gun. And it's been a long time.
- 45:40But yeah, there was a >> You know what? Maybe I never watched the
- 45:42end of the show. I should I should rewatch it. Yeah, I know. The show was good. >> Yeah.
- 45:46>> How many seasons were there? Three. >> Three. >> Yeah, I should rewatch that.
- 45:50>> And it was good. And that's why And that's what I remember him saying he was
- 45:53done with Evil Dead. >> Well, the show was the tone of >> Evil Dead,
- 45:59>> like the the the OGs where That's what Yeah. >> But also >> there's still
- 46:06>> still some horror and gore in it, but yeah, it was funny at the same time.
- 46:11>> Yeah. >> Well, he's not going to be involved
- 46:15anymore, so it's not really up to him. >> But should we talk about something else
- 46:20that was a bit of a horror? >> Go on. >> For at least for Christopher Roberts anyway.
- 46:25>> Oh, yeah. Do you remember game that we we've been talking about on this podcast
- 46:30since it started called Star Citizen? >> Mhm. A game that I'm glad I didn't give
- 46:35them any money for. >> Yes. Cuz why they have raised over a
- 46:40billion dollars and they continue to make millions of dollars a month somehow.
- 46:44>> Million dollars. [ __ ] hell, man. It's so odd.
- 46:49>> It's just not out. And they were showing off this week. They
- 46:54will go we get a stream to show you like where it's at. And so in their ideal
- 47:00setting like this is on their servers their computers like
- 47:03>> this is their opportunity to show it at its best. >> It didn't work.
- 47:08>> No, it was buggy as [ __ ] >> Like game breaking bugs and you could
- 47:12see the people in there were not having fun. >> No. the developers were getting angry at
- 47:17each other and like being really passive aggressive and
- 47:21>> like I I I could be I think the reason they did this is because they had this
- 47:26out in the beta and people were complaining about it and I think this
- 47:28kind of to show you okay this is what it's going to be like when it's ready
- 47:32and you know we're making progress or whatever and it just >> it was a disaster
- 47:36>> disaster. One thing I did find funny is someone brought up a quote
- 47:42>> and it was like this marks 10 years since this announcement came out and it
- 47:47was a test from Star Citizen going I've already played through Squadron 42 start
- 47:52to finish. There's just a little bit more polish to go and it'll be out in
- 47:55six months. So that's the single player portion of the game. 10 years ago they
- 47:59said it was ready. >> Okay now. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, the stream was not going
- 48:05well and then basically they um >> they would whatever the the the kind of
- 48:10quest adventure that they were trying to demo crashed and bugged out so many
- 48:14times and they got they got locked out basically and then one of the said,
- 48:18"We're not going to be able to finish this. Should we restart?" And then
- 48:22>> some executive looking person comes in >> and puts his hand on his shoulder and
- 48:27says, "We're out of time. Wrap this up. This is your show."
- 48:32>> Yeah. wrap it up in a very like >> you said this was a good idea. You're in
- 48:38a lot of trouble the second these cameras are off
- 48:40>> and then you could Yeah. Yeah. The guy the the developer I forget I can't
- 48:44remember his name but he looked worried. I know just it was just like what a disaster.
- 48:48>> But there were things like guns not reloading and >> yeah basic stuff.
- 48:54>> Yeah. It's ah man, it's just so much money to have like
- 49:00this kind of thing going on still. >> It didn't stop them making money though.
- 49:07>> Like the week that this stream came out, they still made half million dollars. >> H
- 49:12>> and I don't know what. >> See, I think the pro Look, this is just
- 49:17it's scope creep. That's all this is. They just got too much money and just >> Yeah. like
- 49:23>> let's just add this and add this. >> I guess at this point I don't know what
- 49:28the scope of the game is intended to be anymore. >> Well, there's now remember there's two
- 49:32games now. >> Okay, >> there's the single player game Squadron 42. >> Okay.
- 49:39>> And then there's the MMO which is going to be the travel anywhere, do anything,
- 49:44and gonna be create your I think it's like create your own type of stories to
- 49:49some degree as well. if it works. >> But I don't think it I think it's too big to work.
- 49:56>> Yeah. >> Have you seen some of the ships that you can buy?
- 49:59>> I [snorts] mean, not in a long time. I remember they were selling them at a
- 50:02pack we were at 10 years ago >> and I was like, "Nah, I'll hold off." I
- 50:08remember talking to uh one of the girls at the booth and she was saying like
- 50:12Chris Roberts is sort of saying like like yeah we're still a few years away
- 50:17but the top of the line computers now today this is 10 years ago are going to
- 50:22be like the minimum specs you'll be needing to play this game. Well that's out the window.
- 50:27>> Yeah. Um, but there are some ships you can buy that are
- 50:34you need like lots of people. >> Oh, to crew them.
- 50:38>> Yeah, I have seen that.
- 50:41>> For $50, I can buy a oneman ship.
- 50:45And let's see. Let's go for expensive. How do I do this?
- 50:52>> Over $500. >> Over $500. See, I can buy a six-man
- 50:57exploration thing for $600 for $650. I can buy a heavy duty drop ship with a
- 51:03spectum of seven crew,
- 51:05a combat heavy gunship with six crew,
- 51:10and I think this is I think there used to be other ships as well
- 51:17that maybe not available anymore. >> So, this is playable in some form, right? If you buy
- 51:22>> Yes. Yes. You can go and play it now, but it's
- 51:27definitely still beta and buggy as hell. >> Um, >> yeah. So,
- 51:32>> I guess I don't know enough about it like like I know that this this developer
- 51:38stream was showing something new, right, that obviously was buggy. Is there like
- 51:43a base game of this that's like playable at the moment that's like stable and
- 51:47playable or No, >> I don't think stable or playable, but
- 51:50there is a game out there. But I just found a ship that's not available anymore. >> Okay.
- 51:56>> That was a battle cruiser with 65 crew. You could have
- 52:02>> [ __ ] hell. >> Guess the price. >> $1,000.
- 52:08>> Higher. >> 2,000 >> higher. >> 10,000.
- 52:13>> Little bit lower. It's $5,900 US.
- 52:17>> What the [ __ ] Why?
- 52:21and people would have purchased this. >> Okay, someone's saying, "Is it playable
- 52:27now?" In general, yes, you can earn enough credits. Will you encounter a lot
- 52:31of bugs? Yes. The game is basically the incarnation of the old joke, patient,
- 52:36doctor, it hurts when I do this, doctor, then don't do that. [snorts]
- 52:41>> Oh, the reason experienced players have fewer issues playing the game is that
- 52:45they just know what not to do. >> Don't do this.
- 52:48>> Yeah, that's okay. Okay, let's >> I know. I'm never going to play this.
- 52:54>> I was so excited for this originally, but now I've just given up
- 52:59>> because I've seen the example, too, is remember this was announced around the
- 53:03same time as Elite Dangerous, a game that came out >> 13 years ago or something. >> Yeah.
- 53:08>> And was a perfectly fine and complete game. >> Yep. It worked. It was fine. It was
- 53:15>> I tried to play it once and it was very in-depth. >> Yeah. Yeah, >> like a lot. And
- 53:20>> I played a little bit and I was like, nah, it's a bit more complicated than my
- 53:23brain wants to deal with when I'm >> The problem is is with this type of
- 53:26game, especially if you're playing the I could I'll probably play the single
- 53:29player or probably won't cuz it never come out. But I don't think I play the
- 53:33MMO version because this would be definitely one that you need to play all the time,
- 53:39>> right? >> Yeah. To get to to afford anything.
- 53:45[laughter] >> Yeah. Well,
- 53:49>> but yeah, I just a prime example of just
- 53:54having getting too much money. >> Yeah, >> it's not a good thing all the time.
- 53:59>> Don't know what to call it. Like Duke Nikon forever where it was just like,
- 54:04>> "All right, let's build it again on a new engine." >> Yep.
- 54:09>> But yeah, I think it's Yeah, it's just they keep getting more money. They keep
- 54:12wanting to add more things. And then they've also got to you want to make it
- 54:16look good. So you got to keep up with >> you got to call it sometimes, Chris. Just do it.
- 54:22>> Yeah. >> Focus. Just don't >> make half a million dollars a month. Maybe they
- 54:28>> Well, no, that was a week. >> A week. Half a million.
- 54:30>> Half streams. I think they still made they're they're making over this still.
- 54:35>> Well, then maybe everything's fine and uh people are just
- 54:41stupid. Um, something else that's been getting
- 54:46slagged this week is the Wolverine game.
- 54:50>> Really? Yeah. They they released some um footage
- 54:56and uh people are [ __ ] on it and saying it
- 55:00looks like it's a PS2 PS3 era game. Uh
- 55:04looks too simple. And um the developers or sorry the head of
- 55:11the studio uh Insomniac's director of community and marketing Steve sorry
- 55:17James Stevenson said I think the wild way this algorithm amplifies and forces
- 55:22negativity upon you has me reconsidering my philosophy on telling devs to look or
- 55:25post here. >> It's a relentless onslaught that I cannot believe is good for anyone's
- 55:30mental health or nor representative. Yeah, people are just [ __ ] on this game now.
- 55:35Oh, cuz I remember seeing the first one going and I'm going
- 55:39>> I thought people were really into it. >> Yeah. And I'm going, I wish I had a
- 55:43PlayStation because I'll never get to play this game.
- 55:45>> I mean, I'll be honest, I saw it and I was like, I don't care.
- 55:50>> I don't know. This doesn't interest me. I I don't find Wolverine interesting. I
- 55:54just never really have. But >> I would have I would have played this. I
- 55:57don't think it looked bad. But I think he's right in saying that the negativity
- 56:00is the first thing that goes to the top. >> Oh, yeah. like
- 56:06>> totally >> and it's very easy to be negative
- 56:12>> the white post stop thing if >> yeah
- 56:17uh it's currently still the third most pre-ordered game in the US so
- 56:21>> oh and see and that's the thing like the negativity that all these people are
- 56:25probably getting is doesn't match what's actually going to happen
- 56:30>> they're still going to buy it but >> yeah anyway they Uh
- 56:36yeah, I I'm not going to play it. I don't care, but I wasn't anyway. So
- 56:40>> I I wish I could, but stupid Sony exclusives.
- 56:45>> I could, but I won't. >> They must be paying a fortune. Oh, no.
- 56:50It's because it's a PlayStation studio, >> right? Insomniac. Yeah. >> Yeah,
- 56:55>> that's who did Spider-Man. >> Yeah. And I wanted to play Spider-Man as well.
- 57:00>> I've got Spider-Man. Haven't played it.
- 57:04Just I want to play it. Who did Batman?
- 57:11>> Uh Rock Steady. >> Rock Steady. I want Rock Steady to make another game.
- 57:15>> Those were good. Well, they did. >> I want them to make a game that I want
- 57:19to play. That's not >> Suicide Squad game. >> Yeah,
- 57:24>> they need to a lot of these things. I I know why they do it. It's because the
- 57:28execs go, "Hey, these live streams games can make a fortune." And yes, the small
- 57:33handful of them that make money make a lot of money, but there's only a handful
- 57:38of them that actually make that. The rest of them go nowhere.
- 57:42>> I feel like that's the game industry in general.
- 57:47>> I don't want it to be. I want single player games that I enjoy.
- 57:52>> I never bought uh I didn't get First Light um the James Bond one. I should do
- 57:57that. I still >> Oh, yeah. I should play that. I think at
- 57:59this point I'll wait till it's on sale because I just don't have time. So >> yeah,
- 58:03>> seems silly to pay full price. But >> yeah. >> Oh, I resigned up for Game Pass.
- 58:07>> Oh, you did? >> Yeah, cuz I wanted to play The Outer Worlds 2 and I was like, well,
- 58:14I'll just do Game Pass cuz I actually don't know how much I'll play it. So, >> yeah.
- 58:18>> So, instead of playing the full game. Yeah. And if you get if it's on the base
- 58:22version, that's you can get Game Pass for like six months for the cost of the
- 58:27game or something. I got the I got the the norm the full one. But [laughter]
- 58:34>> because the other thing is I wanted to go back to Indiana Jones cuz I've got
- 58:38one achievement I've got to still get or one sorry not one achievement. I
- 58:42probably got more achievements. One item. >> Yeah.
- 58:46>> And it bugged out. So I want to see if they fix that.
- 58:49>> Um it does mean that I think next month we could play June.
- 58:53>> I'm already playing that. >> But we could play together. We could. I don't know.
- 58:58>> We won't, but we could. >> Can I use my same character? Probably not. >> Probably not.
- 59:04>> No, >> I doubt it. I think it comes out next month
- 59:09>> and comes on Game Pass. [snorts] >> Good game.
- 59:15>> I'm still enjoying it. I still jump in and play it every now and then. They've
- 59:19um doubled how long your generators stay operational through the end of August.
- 59:25So, it's actually 40 days. >> Oh, wow. Fully charge them. So, you
- 59:29don't have to log back in >> because you need generators shields
- 59:33otherwise your base decays. >> I have seen that they've removed the MMO part of it
- 59:39>> for the consoles. >> No, no, just in general from it being an
- 59:43MMO type of game cuz while >> it is, but it's not.
- 59:48>> There's a lot of So, yeah, a lot's changed. the there were
- 59:54PvP areas that were just PvP areas and they've now shifted them around. Like
- 59:58the deep desert just used to be PvP. Now >> half of the map is not PvP.
- 1:00:04>> Yeah. I think I trying to focus on the fact that you don't need to.
- 1:00:08If you do want to play this by yourself, you can. Like it's not
- 1:00:11>> because a lot of people were and just complaining that life is very hard because
- 1:00:16>> Yeah. you get shot down or whatever by >> [ __ ] There's a lot of griefing. >> Yeah. M
- 1:00:23>> which rules the game for everyone. >> But yeah, been playing it single player
- 1:00:27and actually it's funny to watch like to go on Reddit and see like if you have a
- 1:00:31clan how quickly you can progress versus how long >> it takes me to do anything but like
- 1:00:37whatever. I'm I'm enjoying it. Who cares? >> Just cuz you could just share in
- 1:00:40everyone's resources and >> Yeah. You could just go, okay, today
- 1:00:44we're all going to go mine [ __ ] Stravidium or whatever. >> Yeah.
- 1:00:47>> And like whereas I have to do it all myself.
- 1:00:50>> Yeah. Whereas Yeah. I I would I wouldn't be able to.
- 1:00:54>> No, I'm not playing with people. >> No. Except me. >> Except you. >> Probably won't.
- 1:00:59>> Probably won't. >> Yeah. [snorts] >> Um
- 1:01:04it's about that time >> already. >> I know >> it is. >> It is. >> Time has gone quick.
- 1:01:11>> Yeah. >> So, >> uh it's time for the afterparty.
- 1:01:14>> It is. So, I know how to get there. Do you know how to get there?
- 1:01:18>> I do. Uh, and if the listeners want to know, they can go to patreon.commultiplener
- 1:01:23nerdgasm and you can sign up for our Patreon. If you sign up for free, you
- 1:01:28will get access to our Discord server and uh you will get odds and ends in
- 1:01:33there um and sometimes bonus stuff on the Patreon. But if you sign up for a
- 1:01:38dollar a month, which helps support the show, you get the show early uh and you
- 1:01:42get even more odds and ends on there. Mhm. >> Um, but the main thing is the after
- 1:01:46party, which is five bucks a month, and then we keep talking for a while.
- 1:01:51>> Oh, just to finish off, also, I'm just I'm coming up to that time of year where
- 1:01:55I'm going to give away a PAX pass, so keep an eye out for that. >> Oh,
- 1:01:59>> interesting. All right. >> Don't know what I'm going to do yet, but >> Pax O.
- 1:02:04>> Pax warned. >> Yes. Better more beneficial if you're in
- 1:02:07Australia, unless you want to fly to Australia, which I recommend. >> Great.
- 1:02:11>> Yeah. Come down and see me in Melbourne. I haven't been there in a while.
- 1:02:16>> I would love to come and see you in Melbourne.
- 1:02:18>> Be great. We'll have so much fun. We'll drink really expensive beer. >> I enjoy Yeah.
- 1:02:23>> Stupid expensive. >> Everything's probably more expensive in
- 1:02:26Australia. Although I saw Pauline Hansen's going to fix the price of cigarettes. >> Yeah.
- 1:02:32>> Which is stupid cuz the only reason I quit was because of the cost. >> Come on.
- 1:02:37>> That's the only reason a lot of people quit was because of the cost.
- 1:02:40>> Yeah. It it is from what I hear prohibitively expensive.
- 1:02:44>> It is. I could not afford. It's like $70 a pack or something. >> [ __ ] what? >> Yeah,
- 1:02:50>> cuz I saw the article said that she's going to slash them down to 30 bucks a
- 1:02:53pack and I was like 30 bucks a pack of cigarettes is [ __ ] insane.
- 1:02:57>> But they're 70 bucks now. >> Well, I think I don't know. Um cuz I I
- 1:03:02know they're really expensive. Cost of
- 1:03:07>> six. Cost Australia. Um, budget and discount brands range
- 1:03:13from 38 to 43 >> for 20. >> Premium brands like Benson and Hedges.
- 1:03:19Benson Hedges range from 62 to 65. >> I can't for a pack of 20s
- 1:03:25>> is 500 bucks. Far out. That's crazy.
- 1:03:32>> All right. >> Like if I was still smoking Benson's special filter.
- 1:03:36>> Who's still smoking at that price? Who? Not me, but I would be spending $120 a
- 1:03:42day, >> man. >> Because I used to smoke two packs of 25.
- 1:03:49>> Now a pack of Yeah. When I when I was smoking, I would Now you can buy You can
- 1:03:55buy a pack of 20s for 60 bucks. [snorts] >> That's nuts. That's nuts, mate. Well,
- 1:04:02she's going to slash them down to 30 bucks apparently. >> Yeah.
- 1:04:06I think it's just an efficient chip shop presumably. Is she still in a fish and
- 1:04:10chip shop? Isn't that what she >> still owns it? >> But I think it's a terrible terrible
- 1:04:15idea because at that price people should just be quitting.
- 1:04:21>> Yeah. Yeah. >> At the slash price you >> That's just ridiculous. Well, that's
- 1:04:26what they want. Well, >> yeah. >> Yeah. >> That that's really what it is. It's
- 1:04:30basically they want you to quit or they want you to pay for the health care that
- 1:04:35>> Yeah. Yeah, smoke is a costic. That's all it is. >> Anyway,
- 1:04:39>> anyway, yeah, uh packs is the point. Pax is what we're talking about. Yeah.
- 1:04:43Australia, uh come to Australia, don't smoke. >> Don't smoke. >> When you smoke,
- 1:04:48>> prepare. >> And also, you can't bring lots of smokes
- 1:04:51with you either. You're allowed to bring a packet of smokes into the country with you.
- 1:04:54>> Oh, is that true? >> Yep. You can try you can think sometimes you
- 1:04:59can be sneaky and have like an open packet and a closed packet but it's kind of a day
- 1:05:04>> anymore. I can't think of a single person I know here who smokes anymore.
- 1:05:09>> I don't work with people. >> Oh that's that's smoking.
- 1:05:16>> Well it is but it doesn't cost $50 a pack. >> Yeah but still just as bad for you know
- 1:05:21what it costs. Anyway. >> Anyway, >> multiple nergasm. We'll see.
- 1:05:27>> Buy me a beer. >> Yep. >> And I'll give you a hug >> and a cigarette.
- 1:05:33>> Not a cigarette. I can't afford it. >> Not unless people join the Patreon.
- 1:05:39>> Please join. >> That's all for this week. Thank you for
