Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Ah, the sun is shining, birds of tweeting, so we're assholes.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's a beautiful summer day on Nantucket, a little windy,
- 0:12Speaker 1: but I asked our host not to reference it. Opie
- 0:14Speaker 1: and Carl have just finished their breakfast, and now let's
- 0:17Speaker 1: check in with the boys on what will be the
- 0:19Speaker 1: last installment from our twenty eighteen Nantucket series. In no
- 0:22Speaker 1: particular order, The west Wood One Podcast Network presents Obie Radio.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Good morning, what's up, Carl Rowez? How are you, buddy?
- 0:43Speaker 2: We're all really fucking tired. We're on Main Street in Nantucket.
- 0:46Speaker 2: We're up here for the Nantucket Comedy Festival, and we
- 0:49Speaker 2: just had an awesome breakfast.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I was I had you wouldn't.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I can't imagine you managed to annoy me at breakfast?
- 0:57Speaker 2: What did I do this time?
- 1:00Speaker 4: With your little fingers like you had those little and
- 1:02Speaker 4: you keep putting, trying to put the capers on the bagel,
- 1:05Speaker 4: and you were doing it wrong, and you're.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Doing it wronger and wronger and wrong.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Like I think you want to say over and over again. No,
- 1:14Speaker 2: you ordered you ordered everything bagel with cream cheese. We
- 1:18Speaker 2: had cucumbers and tomatoes on the side. Some onions and capers.
- 1:21Speaker 2: So I was trying to build my breakfast sandwich, and uh,
- 1:25Speaker 2: I put the cream cheese on right right, and then
- 1:28Speaker 2: of course then you have to put the cucumbers on right,
- 1:31Speaker 2: and then you have to put the tomatoes on a
- 1:32Speaker 2: little onion, And then I was dropping capers from about
- 1:36Speaker 2: three inches above the bag.
- 1:38Speaker 3: All over the table onto my area.
- 1:41Speaker 4: It was capers everywhere you're supposed to you're supposed to
- 1:45Speaker 4: put the capers.
- 1:46Speaker 2: That place is jumping.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Were they giving out estrogen in me?
- 1:50Speaker 2: That's the smoothie shot, bro, that's why tho, this isn't
- 1:58Speaker 2: green enough. So you know, I was just trying to
- 2:03Speaker 2: place my capers on the damn thing and they're just rolling.
- 2:06Speaker 2: They're rolling off, bouncing off, falling on the floor.
- 2:10Speaker 3: This is really funny.
- 2:11Speaker 2: What's really fun What is this?
- 2:13Speaker 3: There's no farm on this island set up. White people
- 2:17Speaker 3: love to buy things in woodboxes. By anything in a
- 2:20Speaker 3: wood box, it's the.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Most likely all that shit's from a supermarket and they
- 2:25Speaker 2: just put in fancy farm boxes and then everyone goes
- 2:29Speaker 2: nuts and buys it, right, So that's.
- 2:32Speaker 3: The farm truck. It's spotless, you.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Know, like there's a dirt on it, like if you're
- 2:37Speaker 2: coming from a farm, things are going.
- 2:38Speaker 3: To be really muddy and dirty. Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Nothing, No, that looked like out of a movie set.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Last night was fun. Man, Oh my god, I got
- 2:49Speaker 2: to see Stephen Wright perform.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you haven't.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Seen Stephen Wright perform in a long long time. Before
- 2:55Speaker 2: he performed, we were like above looking down, uh to
- 2:58Speaker 2: the stage door right, and he's in an alleyway just
- 3:01Speaker 2: pacing back and forth, which I found amazing because here's
- 3:04Speaker 2: a comic. He's been added since the eighties and he still,
- 3:07Speaker 2: I guess, has a routine and gets nervous before shows,
- 3:10Speaker 2: and how he deals with it is to just pace
- 3:12Speaker 2: back and forth.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he was nervous before the show.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I was kind of filming him from above, just going
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yo Steven over and over again, pretty much ruining the
- 3:20Speaker 2: guy's preparation, like a black cloud.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Everywhere you go, something's wrong, something gets messed up. He
- 3:32Speaker 4: guy's been doing this for twenty years.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Here comes Ophie ruins it. Well, he's in an alley
- 3:37Speaker 2: there's no one else around, and he's starting to hear
- 3:39Speaker 2: this voice just go yo, Stephen, And now he's thinking
- 3:43Speaker 2: he's hearing voices. He starts looking around. He's so confused.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And then I finally go up here Steven, and he
- 3:48Speaker 2: looks up at me, and then I tell him who
- 3:50Speaker 2: I am and that he did my show once, and
- 3:52Speaker 2: then he kind of just walked back into the theater.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I'm believe. But that was fun. And then we had
- 3:59Speaker 2: an awesome them awesome dinner thanks to CARLZ who finds
- 4:04Speaker 2: the down in dirty places wherever we go, but the
- 4:06Speaker 2: best food. That's what I like about your Carl.
- 4:09Speaker 3: You would have never gone to that restaurant.
- 4:10Speaker 2: No, No, well now I would because you You've taught
- 4:13Speaker 2: me a lot. You know. It was time to eat,
- 4:16Speaker 2: and I'm assuming we're gonna go to some kind of
- 4:19Speaker 2: This wind is gonna drive Joey nuts. Hopefully we could
- 4:21Speaker 2: use this.
- 4:22Speaker 3: What where's the wind?
- 4:25Speaker 2: You don't notice the wind until you play this ship
- 4:27Speaker 2: back and they go, oh, that's great, that's a lot
- 4:29Speaker 2: of wind. Let's yeah, let's uh all right, Oh this
- 4:36Speaker 2: wind here, there's wind everywhere. Now we're in a tiny
- 4:44Speaker 2: alleyway just trying to find a place we could podcast
- 4:46Speaker 2: with no wind. Of course, there's wind. We're on an island.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Oh and now we got this.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Now we got a turbine.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Look that thing started up. If someone doesn't want us
- 5:00Speaker 2: to podcast, you walked. I just we just walked by
- 5:03Speaker 2: those things and the turbines just start spinning.
- 5:06Speaker 1: How about this idea, don't walk by those things? Please
- 5:09Speaker 1: try another way?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Ob all right, we could try this way.
- 5:13Speaker 3: No wind here.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I think you were explaining the cobblestones when we were
- 5:16Speaker 2: walking around just drunk last night.
- 5:20Speaker 3: So drunk, so fastest.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah you did, man.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I called it quits early.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you bailed on us.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I was dancing your fut Jamaican girl.
- 5:30Speaker 2: You were dancing up a storm, dancing and then everyone's like,
- 5:33Speaker 2: where did Carl go? You tapped out, You did like
- 5:37Speaker 2: an Irish exit. You just snuck out.
- 5:39Speaker 4: I just I know when I go over my limit,
- 5:41Speaker 4: I'm like, there's two things that are gonna happen here.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna get punched in the face and I'm gonna
- 5:45Speaker 3: punch somebody's face, right, I can get angry drunk lately? Why?
- 5:49Speaker 2: Oh no, well, I do know it was being sarcastic there.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Of course you've had a tough little run there, Carl,
- 5:57Speaker 2: tough run for the kid, Oh for the kid. Oh boy,
- 6:02Speaker 2: we're going to cross the street. Now this is where
- 6:03Speaker 2: Joey pops in and goes yoh the wind, the wind
- 6:08Speaker 2: too late, genius, I don't feel the wind.
- 6:12Speaker 1: You probably couldn't feel your face.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I know. Yeah. So where did we eat last night?
- 6:18Speaker 2: It was just a down and dirty place. And then
- 6:20Speaker 2: you're always like sitting at the bar, which is kind
- 6:22Speaker 2: of cool too because it's a little more social. You know,
- 6:24Speaker 2: you get to talk to the bartender a little bit.
- 6:26Speaker 3: That's now you just.
- 6:28Speaker 4: What remember all the shots that we did there, That's
- 6:31Speaker 4: what got me.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Well, we were doing okay.
- 6:35Speaker 3: And then not okay. Well that's what I that's when
- 6:37Speaker 3: they're not okay. So now I remember I.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Was doing okay. I was pacing myself. But then that
- 6:41Speaker 2: bartender was really enjoying that we're hanging out because Shrod's
- 6:45Speaker 2: being loud and obnoxious and making fun of all the
- 6:47Speaker 2: really really rich white guys coming in with their sweaters
- 6:50Speaker 2: tied around their neck.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Like God, everyone had sweaters tighter. It's unbelievable. It actually
- 6:55Speaker 3: really happens.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I don't understand that because it's really obnoxious. Look at
- 6:59Speaker 2: this shot.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Unbelievable.
- 7:01Speaker 2: But you were in all sorts of clams last night.
- 7:03Speaker 2: They were so fresh, so nice.
- 7:05Speaker 3: They were nice. We ate clams for an hour.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I know every clam dish you could think of clams,
- 7:10Speaker 2: because raw clams.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Is that the whitest thing you've ever seen?
- 7:15Speaker 2: How could you tell which is whiter? Oh? Wind, all right?
- 7:22Speaker 3: Do you know that I figured out that you don't
- 7:23Speaker 3: have to pay for the whale museum. You can just
- 7:24Speaker 3: go through the gift shop and go through it in reverse.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Beautiful. Oh, we were in this store last night. Remember
- 7:30Speaker 2: you insisted that I get a terry cloth Nantucket sweatshirt
- 7:33Speaker 2: that I'll never wear again after I leave here.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Wasn't awesome though it.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Felt nice, really nice.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Everybody in there buys that sweater.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It's the best.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I don't know why everyone doesn't have that sweater, but me.
- 7:44Speaker 2: You and Sharad were all wearing those things. We look
- 7:48Speaker 2: like in a cotton ball. We looked.
- 7:53Speaker 3: We looked like a.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Very very very very old boy.
- 7:59Speaker 3: My god, we're the mortem. Unbelievable.
- 8:04Speaker 2: And then you try to tell me to like just
- 8:05Speaker 2: be cool before we went in there last night.
- 8:07Speaker 3: But you don't. But you don't be cool every time
- 8:09Speaker 3: I tell you.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Okay, thanks, not you? Oh all right, well, I'm she's
- 8:16Speaker 2: announcing it to the world. I thought I would should
- 8:18Speaker 2: react to that.
- 8:19Speaker 3: What's suing to you?
- 8:23Speaker 2: But why she have to be so loud?
- 8:25Speaker 3: She's outside with us and the earth.
- 8:28Speaker 2: You might not want to walk by her. Right now,
- 8:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell her, why do you have to be
- 8:31Speaker 2: so loud? Why can't you let me have my fone
- 8:37Speaker 2: have to fight? You're loud? He stopping, She's looking.
- 8:43Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 8:47Speaker 2: I refused to her husband just sized this up and
- 8:50Speaker 2: then decided he'd better walk. I'm serious. They're around the corner.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Look turning around.
- 8:54Speaker 2: But we're good. Look, we're good, say the guys. Is
- 8:59Speaker 2: that uncomfortable?
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah, something uncomfortable. Come on, let's keep walking.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Well that way, Well, there's wind that way.
- 9:05Speaker 3: We got to like to find a place.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Wow, we're standing all right. You're not the only one
- 9:12Speaker 2: walking around today. Man, I'm leaving.
- 9:16Speaker 4: You can't fighting people that they're living their lives.
- 9:19Speaker 3: They're just a little too loud, a little too loud.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Let's go this fight.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Look, there's stuff. I think there's a bakery.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but I see like the wind in the in
- 9:28Speaker 2: the trees. Now you've seen the wind, Yeah, you could
- 9:31Speaker 2: see the Well, you can't technically see the wind, but
- 9:33Speaker 2: you could see that there is wind because the leaves
- 9:35Speaker 2: are moving. Right, man, you understand, right, let's go. That
- 9:42Speaker 2: wasn't bad. That was just me being socialde me put
- 9:44Speaker 2: my hands on you. I do gotta say, if you
- 9:46Speaker 2: ever get to Nantucket, I've never seen so many gorgeous cheaps.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Here we go. Carl's actually taking a picture of this ford.
- 9:54Speaker 2: What year you think this is?
- 9:55Speaker 3: Sixty seventy two?
- 9:59Speaker 2: Gorgeous rides, sir? All right, I've never seen so many
- 10:03Speaker 2: old jeeps in my life, I guess gorgeous like they're
- 10:08Speaker 2: all in incredible shape.
- 10:11Speaker 3: There's every jeep ever made. Oh look, there's a breastfeeding
- 10:14Speaker 3: here for you.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Oh thank god, that's what I need for that. I'm hungover.
- 10:22Speaker 2: It's your right, ma'am. It's your right to breastfeed in public.
- 10:26Speaker 2: What are you doing, dude, I'm just supporting her.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I'm five minutes from running away from as fat as
- 10:32Speaker 3: I can supporting her.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Fucking they can't see this. It's radio. Well, it's not even.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Radio really doing a podcast.
- 10:43Speaker 2: How old is that land Rover that's from the fifties?
- 10:47Speaker 3: Is it really? Let's go take a picture.
- 10:50Speaker 2: These jeeps are pristine. If you go to support Chef
- 10:53Speaker 2: on Instagram, he's been taking pictures of all these vintage
- 10:57Speaker 2: jeeps here on Nantucket. There's a lot of wind. Wow,
- 11:04Speaker 2: that's really really nice.
- 11:08Speaker 3: That is badass.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Sopor chef on Instagram. If you want to see some
- 11:11Speaker 2: of these cheap pictures, you got it beautiful.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Wow, that's gorgeous, isn't it all?
- 11:18Speaker 2: That's amazing. I don't understand why you're You're leading me
- 11:22Speaker 2: away from all the action. Now we're on a side street.
- 11:25Speaker 2: This is boring to me.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Well, let me tell you what's not boring to me.
- 11:28Speaker 3: It's exciting to me not to get into a fight
- 11:31Speaker 3: with you tell people to be quiet. Breastfeeding is your right,
- 11:35Speaker 3: and she's just sitting there with a child. Everyone's looking
- 11:38Speaker 3: at Well, it's a big deal.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Some people get really pissed off by that. I just
- 11:42Speaker 2: wanted to support the mom in that situation.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Maybe you're own sick fetish. It has nothing to do
- 11:47Speaker 3: with the law.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Maybe she was trying to be incognitio. But I also
- 11:50Speaker 2: felt like I had a support You don't understand things
- 11:54Speaker 2: you don't I.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Don't understand anything you do.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Everything you do. I'm always in a state of confusion.
- 12:02Speaker 5: I shake my head for hours, like what the hell
- 12:05Speaker 5: just happened?
- 12:09Speaker 2: So, yeah, dinner was awesome, really awesome. I love stuff
- 12:13Speaker 2: like this.
- 12:13Speaker 3: What is it? Just like the old doorways and stuff here?
- 12:16Speaker 3: Look how small that's an old door?
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, motherhood jeeves, what do you think this is?
- 12:23Speaker 3: It's a bar murders.
- 12:27Speaker 2: It looks almost like an old school, like speakeasy or something.
- 12:31Speaker 3: This is a good color, good design. Yeah, they got
- 12:34Speaker 3: it all figured out. And you can tell there's alcoholics here.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Whenever you see three smoking pits, right, that means they're
- 12:41Speaker 2: getting things done. Floriesas state rules. Bro alright, man, No,
- 12:47Speaker 2: everybody gotta socialize, but you're not socializing.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I think people are scared of you.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Man. There's nothing wrong with socializing, right, but just socializing,
- 12:57Speaker 2: just being nice. Okay, alright, sorry.
- 12:59Speaker 3: We got the mace.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Okay, okay, then alright, all right, maybe maybe not everybody.
- 13:09Speaker 2: She just gave me a look, holy, that was a death. Yeah.
- 13:12Speaker 2: She wasn't happy with that. No, so we went and
- 13:15Speaker 2: got the turry cloth nantucket hoodies. And you begged me
- 13:20Speaker 2: not to say anything outside that store last night, And
- 13:23Speaker 2: I think I was well behaved.
- 13:25Speaker 3: You're well behaved.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, in the store where we got the turry cloth.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Did fucking screaming.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Oh my god, look at all the sweater everybody.
- 13:34Speaker 2: There were a lot of people.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Everybody the whole nantucker was in the store. Were all
- 13:38Speaker 3: the same time.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Ah, we are you leading to me, Carl?
- 13:42Speaker 3: Taking you away from people?
- 13:43Speaker 2: I know, what the fuck?
- 13:45Speaker 3: This is a nice little walk? Is it just nice?
- 13:48Speaker 3: There's sidewatch up big for both on the street. There
- 13:51Speaker 3: you go, buddy.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Oh wait, wait, they love podcast noises beautiful.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I hate this podcast.
- 14:02Speaker 2: That's beautiful. What kind of bird there? You? Red spattle,
- 14:10Speaker 2: dread spattle.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I don't have the energy, Fred Spattle. You know.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I saw eagles recently, an eagle, lots of them. We
- 14:19Speaker 2: were in Philly hanging with the you know, the in laws,
- 14:23Speaker 2: and they took us to this really cool zoo, not
- 14:25Speaker 2: the Philadelphia Zoo, and another zoo in the suburbs, and
- 14:28Speaker 2: they had a wind man, a lot of wind as
- 14:33Speaker 2: I'm trying to talk about eagles. Oh this dog. I'm
- 14:37Speaker 2: allergic Jesus, I'm allergic to dogs. All right, let's move on.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Come here. I found a spot where there's no wind.
- 14:49Speaker 3: I'm not gonna get in the creepy with the bushes
- 14:51Speaker 3: look like two creeps.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Well, let me tell my eagles story. So no, for real,
- 14:55Speaker 2: it was kind of cool. Yeah, so they in this
- 15:00Speaker 2: zoo they have like a eagle you know, an eagle sanctuary,
- 15:04Speaker 2: so it's all eagles that can't fly anymore. They had
- 15:05Speaker 2: about a dozen or so, maybe closer to twenty one second. Yeah,
- 15:09Speaker 2: what do you know about eagles?
- 15:11Speaker 3: All I know is since you started store, you're playing
- 15:13Speaker 3: with your pud. You don't stop.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Get your I didn't mean to do that in front
- 15:17Speaker 2: of you, ma'am, your pud playing. I didn't even notice.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I was. I'm sorry.
- 15:25Speaker 4: God tell me to sort about the eagles, sweet Philadelphia awesome.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Ah, and uh, you know they can't fly and they
- 15:33Speaker 2: take care of them there, right, and they're they're happy.
- 15:35Speaker 2: They just hop around. But you got to think, like
- 15:39Speaker 2: an eagle wants to soar. I want to start of
- 15:46Speaker 2: be over, you know, you gotta think they want to soar,
- 15:54Speaker 2: and there they are just hopping around. So I actually
- 15:57Speaker 2: asked the lady she was feeding him at the time,
- 15:58Speaker 2: like are the eagles happy? She goes, absolutely, whatever. Two
- 16:02Speaker 2: quick things I learned.
- 16:02Speaker 3: About they're happy.
- 16:04Speaker 2: She's with them. She knows, she knows she's happy. She
- 16:07Speaker 2: knows their names and everything. But I guess, I guess
- 16:11Speaker 2: by their behavior or something, she knows they're happy. I
- 16:13Speaker 2: don't know. That's a very good question, because I think
- 16:15Speaker 2: they just want to soar. As dumb as that sounds what,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I agree with you.
- 16:20Speaker 2: If you're an eagle, you know I want to soar.
- 16:25Speaker 2: You don't want to be hopping around. But I really
- 16:27Speaker 2: believe the eagles were happy. So anyway, she told me
- 16:30Speaker 2: two things about if they mate and they lay eggs,
- 16:34Speaker 2: they're not allowed to hatch the eagle eggs. But isn't
- 16:38Speaker 2: it isn't the eagle and endangered species. I have no
- 16:42Speaker 2: idea they have to call uh. I think that's a Kardashian.
- 16:47Speaker 3: That's not a Kardashian.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I love the show.
- 16:50Speaker 3: They're not Kardashians.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I think that's like the like the middle one, that's
- 16:56Speaker 2: like the middle sister. You don't have butts, Oh yeah,
- 16:59Speaker 2: the Kardashians all have breast and plants. Oh you licked
- 17:03Speaker 2: that ice cream?
- 17:04Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you look, oh you oh you tripped a
- 17:07Speaker 5: little on your cleavage.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Oh you licked that ice cream. They're not getting yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 2: I got you. I'm taking video right now to prove
- 17:17Speaker 2: they weren't kids.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I got you.
- 17:20Speaker 2: How to get you?
- 17:21Speaker 3: You old petal jokes?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Kids'll take the.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Smirkle off your face.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Man, they came from there. Why don't we hang outside
- 17:28Speaker 2: the ice cream shop and watch girls licked white.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Place with the whole time we're get locked up? Get
- 17:32Speaker 3: your hand out of your hands.
- 17:33Speaker 2: You want to you want to watch girls lick cones?
- 17:37Speaker 3: No, not even the slightest.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I thought it would be a great way for me
- 17:41Speaker 2: and you to to bond. You could smoke outside the
- 17:44Speaker 2: ice cream shop. I smoke outside of everything, and we
- 17:46Speaker 2: can fucking watch women like licked. That awful idea morning
- 17:52Speaker 2: have fun at yoga. I was nice to her. I
- 17:56Speaker 2: was nice to her.
- 17:57Speaker 3: But she's laughing.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Man, was that nice to you? I was nice? Right, yeah,
- 18:01Speaker 2: of course, thank you, she said so nice. There you go.
- 18:04Speaker 3: She's running.
- 18:05Speaker 2: No she's not. She's late for yoga. So listen really fast.
- 18:09Speaker 2: So the eagles so well, I don't know. I'm scared
- 18:13Speaker 2: of the wind.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I know, but people come out of the bushes and
- 18:15Speaker 4: you say something to everybody like you have fucking turets
- 18:17Speaker 4: or something.
- 18:18Speaker 2: No, I didn't say anything to this lovely lady's laughing. SA,
- 18:24Speaker 2: she's laughing, She's laughing her heads off.
- 18:28Speaker 3: I'm so uncomfortable and angry hat you.
- 18:31Speaker 2: We're not even on the main street. We're on a
- 18:32Speaker 2: side street.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I took you to the darkest street I know, and
- 18:35Speaker 4: I still figured it out.
- 18:37Speaker 2: So the eagles they hatch the eggs, they're not allowed
- 18:41Speaker 2: to keep them. This is really interesting for real.
- 18:42Speaker 5: They have to destroy the eggs or call the wildlife
- 18:45Speaker 5: whatever people, and they take the eggs, well, they're supposed
- 18:49Speaker 5: to poke, they're supposed to poke holes in it and
- 18:51Speaker 5: destroy the egg.
- 18:53Speaker 2: And then they have to destroy the shell. They're not
- 18:55Speaker 2: allowed to keep the shells.
- 18:56Speaker 3: What kind of stupid law is that?
- 18:58Speaker 2: What don't you want to read these things? That's what
- 19:00Speaker 2: That's what I can't figure out. And maybe if someone
- 19:02Speaker 2: could help me out with that. I didn't get it.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And then they're also like the eagles shed and they
- 19:07Speaker 2: have like you know, their feathers are falling out in
- 19:09Speaker 2: the sanctuary, right, you're not allowed to keep the feathers. Really, Nope,
- 19:13Speaker 2: if you call it with a feather, it's like a
- 19:15Speaker 2: massive fine. Is that weird? But I think that's so
- 19:19Speaker 2: people aren't, you know, poaching fucking eagles, so they make
- 19:22Speaker 2: it really tough, so noone has a pet eagle.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I guess right.
- 19:25Speaker 2: No, I mean if you're if you have eagle feathers,
- 19:28Speaker 2: then they're gonna wonder did you kill the eagle to
- 19:30Speaker 2: get that.
- 19:31Speaker 3: It just seems odd to me.
- 19:33Speaker 2: What the hopping eagles? They want to soar and then
- 19:36Speaker 2: they and then they can't even have kids.
- 19:38Speaker 4: It was an interesting story, but I couldn't concentrate so
- 19:40Speaker 4: terrified of people saying shit to people?
- 19:42Speaker 2: How did you find the most desolate street in Nantucket
- 19:46Speaker 2: in the middle of summer.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Because of your embarrassing fucking brintain? What the shit you
- 19:51Speaker 4: do is embarrassing?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Hey, anyone around here? Hey, hey, anyone here? Your white
- 19:58Speaker 2: privilege is that twenty thousand? Oh birds?
- 20:02Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 20:04Speaker 2: Even the birds shut up? There?
- 20:05Speaker 3: They are.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Birds. If it's something to drink a part, that's a
- 20:15Speaker 2: nice bird noise for the podcast, Thank you birds.
- 20:18Speaker 3: I like how every house has a name swanh. That's
- 20:22Speaker 3: really nice. They do a nice job. Here.
- 20:25Speaker 2: That's wind yep, that's whend Sorry Joey morning. You see
- 20:32Speaker 2: it was nice to you.
- 20:32Speaker 3: What I saw the wind.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, what's stuck in over here?
- 20:37Speaker 3: You know what I saw that I loved? Huh Nantucket.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I saw a land Rover with Bahama license plates?
- 20:46Speaker 2: Really something?
- 20:47Speaker 3: How the fuck do you have Bahama license plates? So
- 20:50Speaker 3: I stop and ask the gus did you port this
- 20:53Speaker 3: car from Mohamas? He goes, no, it's on my yacht.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Really they drive a fucking car off the fucking How
- 20:59Speaker 4: much money do you have?
- 21:00Speaker 3: What kind of yacht do you have?
- 21:02Speaker 2: That's right, I mean that's rich.
- 21:04Speaker 4: You're pulling out your Bahama license plate, lader, I mean
- 21:07Speaker 4: it was I just I ruly clapped the guys.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Let's cut through his back your home. Well, there's no
- 21:15Speaker 2: wind this way, though, Yes there is.
- 21:16Speaker 3: There's a tornado over there.
- 21:19Speaker 2: No, that's pretty cool, isn't that awesome? That's money, man.
- 21:24Speaker 3: That is money.
- 21:25Speaker 2: It's broken.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I hope it's broken. I hope you're equipment break.
- 21:32Speaker 2: This is really quiet.
- 21:34Speaker 4: I don't like quiet, of course, you know, because you're
- 21:37Speaker 4: tank castrists or whatever they call.
- 21:39Speaker 2: It, no tackers. I will deal with it. Oh, I
- 21:44Speaker 2: think the ice cream ladies walked around the block. How
- 21:47Speaker 2: are the ice creams?
- 21:47Speaker 4: That's not the ice cream ladies how do you know
- 21:50Speaker 4: because they're not eating ice cream.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Maybe they were done with their cones. Maybe they were
- 21:55Speaker 2: done with their cones.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Can we go back with everybody else?
- 21:58Speaker 2: And now they just want to see an eagle sore?
- 22:01Speaker 3: All right?
- 22:01Speaker 2: Which way you want to go? Let's go this way
- 22:05Speaker 2: for a reference point, We're on something called ash Lane,
- 22:08Speaker 2: the most boring street in Nantucket. I thought I could
- 22:11Speaker 2: have a little farm of carl and you know, interact
- 22:13Speaker 2: with people. But no, we go back to the hotel.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I'm embarrassed. Yeah we could do that. Oh here's main street.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Let's go back to me. Oh no, why not? Man?
- 22:22Speaker 3: Well, because he say crazy ship the hold.
- 22:24Speaker 4: So the cobblestones, ballast bricks, some of these they would
- 22:30Speaker 4: put them on.
- 22:31Speaker 3: They come from them, They bring them on the boats
- 22:32Speaker 3: from England.
- 22:34Speaker 4: They would take off these boat these bricks, solid bricks
- 22:37Speaker 4: to the people. They would build the streets with them,
- 22:40Speaker 4: and then they would load up the ship again.
- 22:42Speaker 3: So the ship was always nicely weighted.
- 22:44Speaker 2: So they needed these, uh I call them cobblestones. They
- 22:48Speaker 2: needed these cobblestones to bounce out the fucking ships for
- 22:52Speaker 2: the long voyages across the ocean. So then they would
- 22:55Speaker 2: drop them off here and then they would get goods
- 22:57Speaker 2: from this area to bring back to their country, right
- 22:59Speaker 2: act big port. But now it's just I mean, it
- 23:02Speaker 2: looks really nice, but I've driven a car in Nantucket
- 23:05Speaker 2: many years ago. It's it's obnoxious. There's nothing fun about
- 23:09Speaker 2: driving a car over cobblestone.
- 23:11Speaker 3: It ruins your car too.
- 23:12Speaker 2: And then you know, the historical society here probably would
- 23:15Speaker 2: lose their minds if they paved over the cobblestones.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Another this is this is a great market car. You
- 23:24Speaker 3: hear its cars.
- 23:29Speaker 2: It's illegal.
- 23:30Speaker 3: You said, why they brought that car from England. That's
- 23:34Speaker 3: not even from here. It's a diesel. It's a Diesel
- 23:37Speaker 3: Land Rover one time. That car was never made for
- 23:39Speaker 3: this market.
- 23:41Speaker 2: It's awesome there it goes gorgeous for real. Man, the jeeps,
- 23:46Speaker 2: I'm sure you could just google image jeeps of Nantucket.
- 23:50Speaker 3: I've tried to document them as best.
- 23:52Speaker 2: You've done a good job.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Where you going?
- 24:00Speaker 2: Huh? What? Yeah? How much to check out the whales today?
- 24:08Speaker 2: Twenty dollars? Damn it, brah what twenty dollars check out whales?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Want to do it?
- 24:14Speaker 3: So you you so?
- 24:15Speaker 4: Let me get the open through the museum yeah, you
- 24:17Speaker 4: ask them how much and then you complain and leave.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what that.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Looks like to the other person. That looks awful.
- 24:23Speaker 2: He shrugged his shoulders. He knew, he knew it was overpriced.
- 24:27Speaker 3: That's what you think. That's what he was talking about. Yeah,
- 24:29Speaker 3: that's jeep, Jesus.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Too much wind, too much, too much wind.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Let's leave it alone, go see the whales.
- 24:39Speaker 2: All right?
- 24:40Speaker 3: Oh cute, that's cute.
- 24:43Speaker 2: It's going on everyone. How's everybody today? What just trying
- 24:51Speaker 2: to be nice? Do you want a whale tie? You
- 24:54Speaker 2: want to choke you the fucking bro? Which whale tie
- 24:57Speaker 2: do you want? Let's get the gang whale ties from
- 25:00Speaker 2: I want zero whale ties. Do you want the Nantucket
- 25:03Speaker 2: Island tie? It's not good, It isn't bad, right, don't
- 25:05Speaker 2: get them both? Oh a whale bow tie. They seem
- 25:11Speaker 2: to have a theme in this story. It's the whale museum.
- 25:17Speaker 2: You guys seem to have a theme. All right, let's go.
- 25:23Speaker 2: You're embarrassing man Jesus Christ.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Because Obie couldn't part ways with a twenty I have
- 25:29Speaker 1: the misfortune of breaking the bad news that we don't
- 25:32Speaker 1: get a whale museum. Segment Instead, Opie decides to visit
- 25:35Speaker 1: vic Henley for a much cheaper activity that doesn't involve walking.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Right after this
