Transcript
- 0:00Ross, Travis and Travis watching Taylor Swift sing Cowboy Like
- 0:04Me, You're a Cowboy Like Me, which is one of the gayest songs
- 0:06of all time. It's like Brokeback Mountain and
- 0:09both of them are listening to the song together.
- 0:21Hello my lovely Gaspers. Welcome back to GASP the Pod,
- 0:25the podcasts for the gays, the girls, and especially the gay
- 0:28girls. Happy holidays guys and happy
- 0:30Taylor Swift's docu series is finally out.
- 0:33There is so much to talk about. OK, Taylor Swift's long-awaited
- 0:36docu series all about her Heiress tour, which is the
- 0:39highest grossing music tour of literally all time, which is
- 0:44actually insane. It's out now and wow, there's
- 0:47just so much for us to talk about.
- 0:49It's given us more stripped back Taylor Swift content than we've
- 0:52had in probably years, I think since the Miss Americana
- 0:55documentary. Like usually we don't just get
- 0:58like behind the scenes content of Taylor Swift.
- 1:00She's not really active on social media anymore.
- 1:02The docu series is incredibly revealing and I think
- 1:06intentionally so. And I think a lot of people
- 1:08don't realize how much like direction there is to talk about
- 1:12certain topics for a documentary.
- 1:14You don't just film everything and then hope, hope that it kind
- 1:18of creates A seamless message, right?
- 1:21Like there are certain things that they wanted to talk about
- 1:23in this documentary and they wanted it to be shaped in a very
- 1:26certain way. And that's just how
- 1:28documentaries are. So I'm going to talk about the
- 1:30most notable things that we learned from the docu series so
- 1:33far and what they mean for Taylor Swift the person versus
- 1:38Taylor Swift the brand. I'll be analyzing all of these
- 1:41following things from the docu series.
- 1:43These are 10 things I'm really going to talk about and focus on
- 1:46that. I think the docu series, like,
- 1:48wants us to at least notice. OK.
- 1:51One, the intentionality and difficulty of eras. 2 are
- 1:54planning. 2, The highlights on queer and diverse hiring. 3, the
- 1:59queer flags. Yeah. 4, the wardrobe slash.
- 2:04Talk about reputation. 5 The absence of Scott Swift anyways.
- 2:106 The careful explanation of the Tavis narrative and timeline and
- 2:15performance art of their relationship and performance art
- 2:19of the tour. 7 The Ross Travis cameo. 8 The narrative of her
- 2:24departure from the era's AKA brand Taylor and her leaving,
- 2:29you know, the showgirl behind. 9 The careful crafting of her
- 2:33brand and 10 The loyalty of her team.
- 2:36There's so much that she, I think, wanted to cover in the
- 2:39docu series series without having to like make statements
- 2:42on, and this is her subtly like addressing a lot of things.
- 2:45I'm going to do my best to cover what I think were, you know, the
- 2:48highlighted important aspects of the docu series that we didn't
- 2:52know about her and we didn't know about the tour before this,
- 2:55because a lot of it was revealing And also as like I
- 3:00watched the docu series more, I'm going to pick up on things.
- 3:03So I'll obviously be posting more and talking about it more,
- 3:06etcetera, etcetera. So let's dive in.
- 3:09OK, I'm I'm sure you guys have probably seen most of it, and if
- 3:11not, I'd like describe the scenes that I'm talking about in
- 3:14this podcast episode. Also, just so you guys know,
- 3:17this is my last episode of season 3 and my last episode of
- 3:202025, which is so sad and so crazy.
- 3:23But don't worry, it's not going to be a long break.
- 3:26I'm still going to put out bonus content in between Season 3 and
- 3:30Season 4, so I'm probably going to make another bonus episode
- 3:35about the docu series. Like the more I watch it and the
- 3:38more things that I pick up on because I think there's so much
- 3:42here to talk about. Yeah, the last year of my
- 3:44podcast of all of 2025. I feel like my listeners, AKA
- 3:48you guys have just been so dedicated and so engaged.
- 3:51So thank you, seriously so much for listening.
- 3:54If there's anything you want me to talk about more or like want
- 3:58me to tweak, please give me your feedback.
- 4:00That can be on Spotify, comments on YouTube, comments, direct
- 4:03messages like on TikTok, on Instagram, literally whatever.
- 4:08Just like, tell me things that you want.
- 4:09Tell me like your favorite episode.
- 4:12Yeah. And I just love you guys so
- 4:14much. And I love this community.
- 4:15I love this podcast. I love doing it.
- 4:17So I'm excited for 2026. I think we all need a refresh.
- 4:20If you didn't know already, I'm partnering with Talkspace, $80
- 4:23off discount going on right now. This is a great cheap way to get
- 4:28into therapy as we go into like the dark, cold winter months.
- 4:31That promotion will be on my Gasp TikTok and Gasp Instagram
- 4:36linktree. So just go to my Gasp accounts,
- 4:38click the main link in the bio and it'll just be the first one
- 4:41there. Talkspace promotion.
- 4:44And also I made a Gaylord T-shirt.
- 4:48Someone had told me like a few months ago that I should make a
- 4:51goddess a Gaylord sticker. And I think I made AT shirt.
- 4:55I'm going to make a sticker as well.
- 4:56That's also on the linktree. You can just find it under
- 4:59merch. I think it's funny, but that was
- 5:02kind of half for me but yeah, last message is happy holidays.
- 5:05Have a great break and just be easy on yourself.
- 5:08OK like this has been kind of a crazy year refresh.
- 5:11We're starting new again in 2026.
- 5:13OK let's talk about the documentary.
- 5:15So the first category of things that I wanted to talk about with
- 5:19this documentary is just the intentionality of like
- 5:22everything. Obviously the docu series itself
- 5:25is very intentional. There's been a lot of talk from
- 5:28Swifty's that a lot of the things that Taylor, Taylor Swift
- 5:31does are just kind of like just happens to be there.
- 5:35And that we shouldn't think that deeply into every decision or
- 5:37every micro dance move or every TikTok or every poster, every
- 5:42Easter egg. We shouldn't think much into it.
- 5:45And I feel like this documentary has really exposed that.
- 5:49Most of the things she does are overthought and she has a huge
- 5:53team around her. And so when she's posting
- 5:56something on her TikTok, that is the Taylor Swift brand TikTok,
- 6:00when she is deciding to make a dance move, it really is that
- 6:03deep. Obviously, we all thought that
- 6:05it was hard work to do the errors too, but not until you
- 6:09like really see all the little things you have to do with the
- 6:13stage design and with the dressing rooms and where you're
- 6:18going to go under the stage and the choreography and the
- 6:22choreography with Lawrence Welch and all of these things you have
- 6:26to account for. It is actually fucking crazy.
- 6:30One of the main things that I think we all saw from this docu
- 6:34series that is just striking is the choreography that Mandy
- 6:38Moore did with Florence Welch. Mandy Moore is Taylor Swift's
- 6:42choreographer. How intentionally they were with
- 6:44the dance moves. And I post this on TikTok, but
- 6:47there's literally a part where Taylor and Mandy are kind of
- 6:50explaining the choreography to Florence for Florida when
- 6:54Florence came on for that show. There's a part in the song where
- 6:57it says all of the bodies that have ever been on my body and
- 7:01both Florence and Taylor are holding girl dancers like next
- 7:05to them on their bodies. And when this happened, I
- 7:10remember during the live stream, gaylors were like, holy shit,
- 7:13the bodies are women bodies because they have been with
- 7:16women or Taylor at least has been with women.
- 7:19And people were like, it's not that deep.
- 7:20It just so happens that like the female dancers were like there
- 7:23or like it wasn't intentional that they were like girl
- 7:26dancers. And then we see from the
- 7:27document documentary an explanation of this entire thing
- 7:31and Taylor explaining to Florence and saying it kind of
- 7:35makes sense, bodies on my body. So like it kind of makes sense.
- 7:39And she's explaining that the reason why they're holding their
- 7:42heads right there is because of the lyric, which is all about
- 7:46sex stuff cause bodies. This docu series just shows that
- 7:51everything is thought out. None of this is random.
- 7:56And it's not just because, like, Taylor Swift is a mastermind.
- 7:59It's because like when we see themes over and over again, it's
- 8:03not just random. Like most of stage performances.
- 8:07And like big productions like this, every move is like
- 8:10micromanaged. So it just shows even more the
- 8:14genius behind everything, the work behind everything to like
- 8:17prove that point or exercise it exactly how they want it to be.
- 8:23You can't really make the argument that any of this is
- 8:25like not intentional anymore after seeing this docu series.
- 8:29The second main highlight from this docu series is all of the
- 8:33spotlights on queer and diverse hiring.
- 8:36I was really pleased with how many like team members had the
- 8:40focus of this docu series. And I think it makes a lot more
- 8:43interesting to see how like a tour of this size is even put on
- 8:47and like all the people behind it.
- 8:49Because again, it's one thing to just say it like, oh, there's so
- 8:52many people there. And it's another to like
- 8:53actually follow their job as it happens.
- 8:57And you do realize that it is bigger than Taylor Swift.
- 9:02It's bigger than her performing on there.
- 9:04And also like how influential you can be.
- 9:07And I'll talk about politics later on.
- 9:09Obviously, I do want her to be more specific in her language
- 9:13with how she talks about politics.
- 9:15I wish she said it more outright as she used to, but it doesn't
- 9:19erase the fact that she's doing and like making good statements
- 9:23with diversity through this tour and also this docu series.
- 9:28Like so for example, Wiley, one of the dancers really wanted to
- 9:31be part of the ready for it dance and the ready for it dance
- 9:35has only female dancers. He was just saying that like
- 9:38most times in professional dancing, it's very gendered and
- 9:41that he wasn't really allowed to express his like feminine side
- 9:44in dance and was usually kind of placed in like a masculine manly
- 9:49dance role or like choreography. And Taylor allowed him to be
- 9:53part of the ready for it dance. And he says quote, I want to be
- 9:57that example for anyone, any person, male, female, male, non
- 10:01binary. I want them to feel seen just
- 10:03like how I felt seen by Taylor. So first of all, saying the
- 10:06actual word non binary and having that make the final cut
- 10:11of this docu series. We can't overstate how important
- 10:16that is. Taylor Swift is one of the most
- 10:18famous people in the world right now.
- 10:19And especially in America when we have language specifically
- 10:23around trans and non binary people being erased.
- 10:26And people love saying just like equality instead of saying
- 10:29trans, saying non binary, that language is completely erased.
- 10:32And so they could have easily said, oh, just like I want to be
- 10:36that example for anyone, any type of person.
- 10:39But I really appreciate the wily said non binary and that it made
- 10:42the cut. Like that is really important.
- 10:45So we know obviously, that Taylor Swift supports queer
- 10:48people like she is queer. I know that she's liberal.
- 10:51I am not doubting that from her. But I still wish we had more.
- 10:56But this is still a very good moment, right?
- 11:00How many millions of people are watching this docu series and
- 11:03seeing that? Like that's really important.
- 11:05And then Cam, one of the dancers also was spotlighted and this
- 11:10and was talking about him and his brother who the chiefs,
- 11:14which by the way, we're talking, we're saying that that has no
- 11:16impact on Taylor meeting Travis. Like what?
- 11:20Anyways, we'll get to that trust.
- 11:22But Cam was talking about like, he always felt he had to like,
- 11:26lose weight and be in a different body in order to be a
- 11:29professional dancer. And that this opportunity, like,
- 11:32made him feel like accepted he was put on this grand stage that
- 11:35there was like, no element of like a certain body for the
- 11:39dancers of the Aristora. That's a really important
- 11:42message. So I just really liked that
- 11:43there was so many spotlights on the dancers, the team members,
- 11:47the band that she's had for so long, her stylist, by the way,
- 11:52all these people, mostly gays and girls.
- 11:55Anyways. Taylor also says about hiring a
- 11:58diverse cast of dancers and team members.
- 12:01She says, quote, we're not trying to make any points about
- 12:04gender, but we just don't really have any kind of restrictions.
- 12:09And I think that that could really be applied to how she
- 12:11views her own career, too, and how she's supposed to be with
- 12:15Taylor Swift, the brand, where she's trying not to be too
- 12:20overt. But the whole point is that
- 12:22there are no restrictions because she is not this straight
- 12:26heteronormative woman, at least I think.
- 12:29And so I think that's the presidential helicopter I can
- 12:32see from my window, You know, we just don't really have any kind
- 12:35of restrictions. I feel like that really goes to
- 12:38show like, she is not doing things restrictedly male,
- 12:42female, straight, because that's not how she lives her life.
- 12:46Yeah. Like, honestly, this docu series
- 12:48is pretty gay. And it wasn't necessarily, like,
- 12:50all Taylor Swift being gay. There's also a part where Cam is
- 12:54celebrating Wiley being able to dance the ready for dance.
- 12:57And Cam says do it for the gays. It's like she's surrounded by so
- 13:01many gays. You guys.
- 13:03She like. I just really like that that was
- 13:06so apparent in the docu series, like the gayness, right?
- 13:10Taylor also says Wiley can really channel that kind of like
- 13:14sexy femme side of himself when talking about his dancing.
- 13:18And I really thought this is really important because what do
- 13:20you mean she knows the word femme?
- 13:23She didn't say feminine. She said femme side of himself.
- 13:26And that might seem like a really minor thing, but I don't
- 13:29really know many straight people unless they're like super
- 13:32fucking plugged in that saying like femme, but like that's a
- 13:36queer term more than just like being feminine.
- 13:40She said femme. I don't know it just it's giving
- 13:44that she knows what she's talking about, right?
- 13:46OK, let's talk about the queer flags because there were many.
- 13:49And don't start with, OK, she doesn't Easter egg about her
- 13:53personal life. First of all, she does.
- 13:55We're not even going to go into the fact that we know she does,
- 13:57right? Because there's so many
- 13:59examples. But also what is an Easter egg
- 14:02versus what is a queer flag? It's already been proven to us
- 14:04that this docu series is showing how intentional everything she
- 14:08does is. And then we're going to see all
- 14:10these queer flags and people are still going to say that it's
- 14:12random and doesn't mean anything in the same docu series that is
- 14:16showing how intentional every micro decision is.
- 14:19Sure. Anyways, so we see the we can
- 14:22see you poster that a fan is holding up.
- 14:24This poster legitimately is the most gay poster I've ever seen.
- 14:30For example, me and my girlfriend when we went to the
- 14:33Portugal heiress to her we wore these shirts who were on the
- 14:37floor and Taylor saw us multiple times like me and eye contact
- 14:41with us smiled. It was fucking amazing.
- 14:43And me and my girlfriend wore these shirts that I made with
- 14:46daisies on it and I forget what it said.
- 14:49It was like, were your Daisy or like you're our Daisy or
- 14:53something where I thought that was the most obvious Gaylord
- 14:56shirt, right? And if she had put our shirts on
- 15:00the docu series, I would have been like confirmed.
- 15:04And that's how we should be treating this sign because I bet
- 15:06whoever made this sign, this girl like made this sign being
- 15:09like this is the most gaylor sign ever because you have to be
- 15:12a gaylor. You objectively have to be a
- 15:14gaylor to make a sign like that. That is confirmation.
- 15:17And by the way, even if Taylor is not gay, she knows gaylors
- 15:22exist and she knows what gaylors talk about, which is hairpin,
- 15:27Daisy, eye theory, rainbow flag, and all of those things are on
- 15:34this poster. So either she's queer or
- 15:38including this because they know she's OK with this and like
- 15:43giving the visibility to gaylors and she's queer flagging right
- 15:46now. She's queer by having this in
- 15:49the docu series or it's at least showing she is OK with people
- 15:54saying that about her. But I've seen some people be
- 15:57like guys, she's only including this to like give gaylors a win,
- 16:02but she actually isn't gay at all.
- 16:05If Taylor is straight, 100% straight, and she is
- 16:10intentionally doing things in order to get gaylors to watch
- 16:16something like something knowing we think that she's queer.
- 16:20Meanwhile she is straight. That is fucked up and I would be
- 16:26less of a fan so like that's not cool.
- 16:30Bad ally move to intentionally be doing that.
- 16:33So anyone's argument for that? I'm like why wouldn't you rather
- 16:36just her be queer instead of her being a bad ally?
- 16:39You want her to be a bad ally? Like I don't get it.
- 16:41Anyways moving on. The larger point is her her
- 16:45team, this being included in the final cut, which she has seen
- 16:49and she's a part of, you know, constructing this docu series.
- 16:54It's just like so queer. It's so gaylor confirmation,
- 16:58like it's it's it's the epitome of a queer flag.
- 17:02I can see you the lyrics, you know from I can see you the song
- 17:07and then the eye theory, the rainbow flag, the hairpin, the
- 17:10Daisy. That shape of the Daisy is from
- 17:14her and Karlie Kloss, the Big Sur road trip.
- 17:17That is an objective truth. Like I don't know.
- 17:23I don't understand how people are not freaking out as much as
- 17:25I am about it. But let's also talk about her
- 17:27gay ass outfits during like the behind the scenes of the heiress
- 17:32to her. You can see like her warming up
- 17:34and he's just like how she's sinning is just like the most
- 17:38bisexual sit I've ever seen in my life.
- 17:41Just gay. That's that's queer.
- 17:43That's queer flagging. By the way, looking gay is
- 17:45enough of a queer flag for me. Let's also talk about the
- 17:49rainbow slash American flag art piece in her New York City
- 17:53apartment. So First off, before we get into
- 17:56the fact that this is so queer, this is a queer flag.
- 18:00It's also a parallax, and we can talk about the meaning of that.
- 18:03It is also so annoying that people are saying like, guys,
- 18:07this shows that she's straight because this is such a bad art
- 18:12piece. It says loved ones, right?
- 18:15It's like from 1 angle it looks like the American flag.
- 18:19From another angle it says loved ones.
- 18:21Now anyone saying that like it's not gay because it's not cool.
- 18:26You guys really seriously need to think about what you're
- 18:31saying when you say those words. Do you know what you mean when
- 18:34you say those words? There are uncool gay people.
- 18:38Sorry there are non Gen. Z gay people.
- 18:41Just because she's millennial doesn't mean she's not gay just
- 18:45because she doesn't have like the coolest art piece ever.
- 18:48And then it says love wins the HRC 2012 rainbow mustache
- 18:54millennial vibe. Just because she has that
- 18:57doesn't mean she's a straight millennial.
- 18:59There are millennial gays. You can be gay and not edgy
- 19:03Brooklyn latte drinking polyamorous girl.
- 19:09Like, do people know that? I'm so sick of this analysis of
- 19:13like, oh, because she's like kind of millennial, then she
- 19:18can't be gay. Like you are Gen.
- 19:21Z. There are gay millennials out
- 19:23there, whatever. But allies do not have art
- 19:26pieces like that. Allies do not have art pieces
- 19:29like that. And if they do, you're not
- 19:30actually that straight because if you're obsessed with gay
- 19:33people that much, you are literally gay.
- 19:35I don't make the rules. That's a fact.
- 19:38That is a fact. Let's talk about the Parallax,
- 19:40right? So when we see this art piece,
- 19:43huge art piece in her New York City apartment where it's like
- 19:46mostly white walls, and let's say it's not her apartment,
- 19:50which it is, by the way. If it's not, then they're
- 19:53choosing to film in this place with this.
- 19:57Not only is it kind of like important because it's in her
- 20:00house, but it's also important because it's literally parallax,
- 20:03which Taylor Swift has talked about on Jimmy Fallon, The Fate
- 20:07of Ophelia music video, and she talks about the importance of
- 20:10the parallax, right? She says it's the breaking of
- 20:13the parallax, right? Quote.
- 20:15You're looking at it from 1 angle and it shows a picture.
- 20:18But if you were to come around the side, you'd see that it's a
- 20:21different layers that are creating it.
- 20:23As soon as you turn, you see that we're backstage.
- 20:26In the front of this art piece, it looks like the American flag,
- 20:31one image from the straight on if you come around to the side,
- 20:35which is how the camera goes when we're watching her in the
- 20:37reputation outfit, which I don't think means nothing, right?
- 20:41Reputation is very queer. We're seeing it from a different
- 20:44angle from the side. We're seeing backstage, as she
- 20:48says, and Jimmy Fallon. And what is behind the scenes of
- 20:51this American Taylor Swift brand, All American Girl, Miss
- 20:56America? It is this queer other version
- 21:00of her love wins. It is the welcome to New York.
- 21:03It is the queer girl folklore evermore.
- 21:07It is this different girl, like the poet Taylor perhaps versus
- 21:12the showgirl up front, which is the American girl, the one that
- 21:15like doesn't ruffle too many feathers going from the side,
- 21:20the whole other person backstage, the real Taylor.
- 21:23And I just think the fact that not only is it like gay, but the
- 21:27fact that it's a parallax really shows that this is important and
- 21:31that this means something to just can't understate how
- 21:34important that art piece is. Like that feels really cementing
- 21:36to me. It should also remind people
- 21:38that she's not MAGA. And again, I wish that she would
- 21:41like, be more vocal. I think it's important for her
- 21:44to be more vocal. But I don't necessarily think
- 21:47that she's MAGA. OK.
- 21:48The last, like, super queer thing that I saw from the Stock
- 21:51You series, This is kind of random, but at one point, Taylor
- 21:55is watching the Chiefs game with her mom, and her mom is like,
- 21:59Travis has three guys on him, which gay.
- 22:03And Taylor goes, well, yeah, because he's special.
- 22:06And I just think that's a really gay thing to say.
- 22:09Let's move on to the wardrobe. And also this talk about
- 22:14reputation. That was kind of random and I
- 22:16felt like didn't really close the loop on what she was trying
- 22:20to say when she was talking about reputation.
- 22:22She is trying on the surprise song dresses with her stylist.
- 22:26And again, people are saying the surprise song dresses were kind
- 22:29of just like she wanted fun new dresses.
- 22:31And then in this scene she says, no, we should wear it for the
- 22:34first night. Like there's intentionality
- 22:36behind it. And there's a whole theory
- 22:38behind the surprise song dresses.
- 22:40Obviously they're pretty queer when they're like rainbow.
- 22:43There's, you know, koi fish interpretation.
- 22:46There's an interpretation that like it goes from Sun's set to
- 22:50dusk to dawn with the order that she was wearing the dresses.
- 22:56But the most important analysis of it is that one is like the
- 23:00lesbian flag. And then when she wears that
- 23:02dress, she wears it with Greasy Abrams, who is wearing a white
- 23:05dress to complete the lesbian flag.
- 23:07She says when she tries on this dress, she goes sunset.
- 23:11Like girl, we know that's the lesbian one, but go off and then
- 23:16also she when she tries on the lesbian bodysuit.
- 23:20And so this is the bodysuit that like everyone called the lesbian
- 23:24bodysuit and it was first on the Internet.
- 23:27Someone will like made it. Everyone at that point was like
- 23:30Gaylord bodysuit. And then she fucking wore one
- 23:33very similar to the drawing, which is fucking crazy.
- 23:36It looks so good in it. And I'm obsessed at her going
- 23:39like, oh, looking at herself and it like she knows she's hot.
- 23:43And then she goes, this is my new favorite for sure.
- 23:46Yeah, there's there's a reason for that.
- 23:47So there was mention of the reputation set a lot during this
- 23:50docu series. And as I said before, Wiley was
- 23:55planning and like learning the Ready for it dance because he
- 23:58wanted to be a part of that dance.
- 24:00But they're talking about the reputation bodysuit and listen
- 24:04for an album that is not supposed to be getting re
- 24:08recorded. I don't know why there's so much
- 24:10talk about it. I'm still thinking that there's
- 24:13going to be the vault tracks that are going to release.
- 24:16I I still believe that that's going to happen.
- 24:18She told us it was going to happen in that there would be a
- 24:20moment for Reputation. Where is it?
- 24:22I just think there's a connection between Reputation
- 24:24karma, the breaking of Parallax, the breaking of the mirror ball,
- 24:29everything like that. She says when she's talking
- 24:31about wearing a new Reputation body suit and surprising the
- 24:34fans, she says, I've never had an alternate outfit for the
- 24:38reputation section. And then she says not once.
- 24:42The reason why this is important is that usually when she was
- 24:44wearing a different type of outfit for an era on the tour,
- 24:48it was because she was going to announce a new album.
- 24:51Like when she changed a lot of her outfits.
- 24:54When she announced 1989, she changed a lot of the outfits to
- 24:56blue. And that was to show like, we're
- 24:59going to get 1989. I was actually at that concert.
- 25:01And so it was Karlie Kloss. But the reason why people went
- 25:04crazy for that is because we thought you were releasing
- 25:07reputation and then nothing came from it.
- 25:09And I just feel like that's to get our hopes up again for
- 25:12something. I don't really know why they
- 25:14would be so much talk about it if it wasn't.
- 25:17I don't know. I have some questions on that.
- 25:19Let me know your guys's theories on that one.
- 25:22But then when they're also showing like the social media
- 25:24reaction to the new Rep bodysuit, I feel like they were
- 25:28completely taking out the fact that people were freaking out
- 25:31'cause we thought Rep TV was coming, not because we were just
- 25:34like, Oh my God, gold, but the fact that it was gold.
- 25:37And then in the tweets and the post they were highlighting in
- 25:40the docu series, they were bolding the gold.
- 25:44And I'm like, what's going on here with the gold?
- 25:48I once believed love would be black and white, but it's
- 25:50golden. I'm just wondering what's
- 25:52happening here. Are we going to get ATS 13 gold
- 25:55album? That could be pretty fire.
- 25:58Is reputation going to lead into TS13?
- 26:01Is the new Rep TV album going to be gold?
- 26:03I don't know, like, but I just think that that might have been
- 26:06purposeful. Then I want to just mention the
- 26:10absence of Scott Swift from this docu series.
- 26:12Now, when I'm filming this, I have not yet seen the last two
- 26:16episodes and that is because I need to be able to film this
- 26:19before tomorrow because I don't want to release an episode or
- 26:22work on Christmas Eve. So sorry.
- 26:25But I will release a bonus episode talking about everything
- 26:29from the last two episodes of the docu series after Christmas,
- 26:34probably the 26th, the 27th, but from up to this point.
- 26:38So 4 episodes in, we're barely seeing Scott Swift.
- 26:42I think we saw him for maybe 1 millisecond when they were
- 26:45talking about the weather like at the Miami show.
- 26:48I think that's really intentional.
- 26:49I mean, Andrea has had a solid part of this docu series and I
- 26:54don't know, people theorizing that she's had a rift with her
- 26:56dad. Her dad is on 13 management.
- 27:00And as we've seen from Miss Americana, he was the one
- 27:04telling her not to talk about politics.
- 27:06Some theorize he's the one telling her not to come out.
- 27:09There's a lot of theories here, like I don't know what's going
- 27:12on. I just think that's interesting,
- 27:15right? Like, does she have more of a
- 27:16work relationship and less of like a close family bond?
- 27:20Is there a rift? Is it intentional?
- 27:22Kind of same thing with Jack Antonoff off.
- 27:24I wouldn't be surprised if she's not friends with Jack Antonoff.
- 27:26I would be sad about it. But also who knows?
- 27:29Like there's a lot of people that are not going to be
- 27:31included in this documentary that she's still like close
- 27:33with. But yeah, OK, let's get into the
- 27:35Juicy Tavis stuff because as we expected, there is a lot of
- 27:42Travis in this docu series and he's not really talking as much
- 27:47as I expected. Like he's not really doing a sit
- 27:49down interview with the camera yet.
- 27:52I wouldn't be surprised if we see that.
- 27:54But there's a lot of talking about him.
- 27:57It's good for his brand for sure.
- 28:00And as I already talked about in a few Tik Toks, the director,
- 28:04the main director of this docu series, his name is Don Arcot.
- 28:09He is not a Hollywood known director.
- 28:12He has made a lot of documentaries.
- 28:14It doesn't mean you're known by the industry.
- 28:16He is not a natural choice. No matter which way you spin it,
- 28:18he is not a natural choice. That's just an objective fact
- 28:21with how you look the industry and how you look at
- 28:23documentaries for major celebrities.
- 28:27The woman who did Miss Americana brought in feminist edge.
- 28:31Don Argot made the Kelsey documentary mostly about Jason
- 28:36Kelsey. The only reason he's on this
- 28:38documentary is through Travis Kelsey, so he is a part of
- 28:43crafting this story that is like working for both Taylor, Travis,
- 28:48Tavis, the brand in general. I think they wanted someone who
- 28:51could like craft this gateway for Travis, you know, to move on
- 28:56past the NFLI also think there's a lot of performance art alert
- 28:59going on here, right? Like they want to craft the
- 29:02narrative to make it make sense, to show the they're both
- 29:05performers, they're both entertainers.
- 29:07And together they are creating a new like superpower, like this
- 29:12power couple of entertainment. Not talk about TikTok again, but
- 29:15I made a TikTok about like breads and circuses and how I
- 29:20think Taylor and Travis are like feeding the people, giving the
- 29:24people what they want. Travis is like a modern day
- 29:28gladiator. They both said, are you not
- 29:30entertained? This gladiator reference from
- 29:34the movie Gladiator And Taylor keeps talking about Travis in
- 29:38these like kind of like warlike words.
- 29:42She says that he plays violent chess in the docu series.
- 29:47That, you know, sounds like a gladiator to me.
- 29:50And I feel like they are both entertaining the crowd in this
- 29:54PR relationship and whether or not they're in a real
- 29:57relationship. I think there's so much PR going
- 29:59on in this and they're doing performance art.
- 30:01They are keeping the crowd fed and happy.
- 30:05Are you not entertained? People are so entertained.
- 30:08They are the epitome of entertainment money makers right
- 30:12now. They're doing this to get to the
- 30:14point where they want to be in their career, I think to break
- 30:18the parallax so we can see what's actually behind all of
- 30:22this. We see one image, but what is
- 30:24behind it? All right, that's just my
- 30:26theory, but I think this is a lot of performance art going on.
- 30:31And together they like are this superpower.
- 30:34That's why I think they have this scene in the car where
- 30:36she's like, oh, we're both entertainers, like on the field
- 30:39and I'm on stage. You have your coach and I have
- 30:42my mom. Like she repeats this narrative
- 30:44a lot. And I think trying to show us
- 30:46that this like, makes sense in this performance, right?
- 30:51That's the epitome of why he was brought on stage.
- 30:53ANYWAYS, they're like both the showgirls, OK.
- 30:56Also, when the Travis section starts in the docu series, they
- 31:00straight up show the New Heights logo and the whole brand before
- 31:05they show the clip of Travis talking about the friendship
- 31:08bracelet gate. And it's just could not be more
- 31:10obvious that they're like promoting him and giving him
- 31:13such a stage. And again, it makes sense.
- 31:16This is a movie for both of them as a couple and what they're
- 31:20doing for the entertainment industry and not necessarily
- 31:24just Taylor Swift. Like this is kind of bigger than
- 31:26Taylor Swift. It's the show of it all.
- 31:29It's the heirs tour. It's the final chapter, the end
- 31:34of an era, the end of the showgirl.
- 31:36So it's not like behind the scenes Taylor Swift.
- 31:39It's the showgirl, it's the heiress to her.
- 31:42Like this is this larger production and the ending of
- 31:47this mega show that's not just on stage but also for the media.
- 31:54There's also a part where, like, I think it's Taylor that she
- 31:56goes, oh, do you want to tell the story, like to her mom about
- 32:00the Travis story? It just doesn't happen very
- 32:02naturally. It's like very outright that
- 32:04like, now you're supposed to talk about Travis.
- 32:07Whereas like in the Miss Americana documentary, she's
- 32:10talking about Joe and she's saying, amidst all of this, I'm
- 32:13falling in love and like kind of talking about her life more.
- 32:16And this seems so on purpose. And again, the theme of this
- 32:21docu series is intentional for sure.
- 32:24Story is being retold to us so they can make sure that we know
- 32:28that the connection between Taylor and Travis was because
- 32:32the friendship bracelet and not because of all of their other
- 32:35connections to the chiefs. Andrea Swift AKA Taylor Swift's
- 32:39mom is talking about how their cousins are like chiefs fans and
- 32:44like are always there. And we also hear from the new
- 32:47Heights podcast that Taylor's dad Scott Swift is like best
- 32:50friends with coach Reed, the coach of the Chiefs.
- 32:53And then we hear also in this docu series that Cam, one of the
- 32:57main dancers obviously of the heiress to her his brother plays
- 33:01for the chiefs. Oh and also Karlie Kloss, Chiefs
- 33:03fan pictured with Travis Kelce. They've been in like social
- 33:08parties together. There are so many connections
- 33:11with the Chiefs and we are supposed to believe that the
- 33:14reason why Taylor thought to even be interested in Travis is
- 33:18because of the friendship bracelet.
- 33:20And it just doesn't make any sense to me.
- 33:22There's so many ways especially you're like you're a grown man.
- 33:25There's so many ways to start dating someone.
- 33:28You probably could have easily gotten her number but you needed
- 33:31to make it a public thing from the get go.
- 33:34It just doesn't make any sense to me personally that that's
- 33:37really the way that they got together.
- 33:38There's also a scene where Travis delivers her flowers.
- 33:43I don't know if you guys have watched Selling Sunset, but it
- 33:45feels like Chelsea sending Mary flowers when she knows that the
- 33:50camera crew is there filming it. Like I mean, whatever listen,
- 33:54they could be together, but a lot of it just feels very
- 33:56performance. Also, this scene of Taylor
- 33:58playing hits different and welcome to New York before she
- 34:02plays it on stage. This combo for the surprise
- 34:06songs is so queer, right hits different.
- 34:09The line where she says I could still melt your world
- 34:12argumentative antithetical dream girl.
- 34:14And then she's combining it with Welcome to New York, where she
- 34:17says, and you can want who you want, boys and boys and girls
- 34:21and girls. It's the gayest mashup literally
- 34:24ever. And her mom is like, hearing her
- 34:27practice. And she says, oh, it really kind
- 34:29of tells your story, like when you first met.
- 34:31Taylor goes, who are we talking about now?
- 34:34And then Andrea goes, Travis, your boyfriend.
- 34:37And in the captions of the docu series, it does have a question
- 34:40mark, which is so funny. And it feels like Andrea just
- 34:43knows that she's supposed to talk about Travis.
- 34:46And then Taylor's like, no, these are literally 2 breakup
- 34:49songs. And then she explains the
- 34:51meaning of the mash up. She says this person is going
- 34:54through a horrible breakup and they go to a big city and they
- 34:57like find this other sense of self, which the whole song of
- 35:03Welcome to New York is want who you want boys and boys and girls
- 35:06and girls. You're like in this liberal city
- 35:08and you can finally like be yourself.
- 35:10Crazy shit right here. It's just so funny that like her
- 35:13mom is like, wait, are we talking about Travis now?
- 35:15I'm going to hype up Travis like just because she was like told
- 35:18she's she's playing her part very well.
- 35:20They're also talking about like what Travis brought to the tour.
- 35:24And Andrea says, oh, what has Travis brought to the tour?
- 35:28He brought himself onto the stage and she's talking about
- 35:32him coming onto the stage and performing during, you know,
- 35:35this transition to I can do with a broken heart and which is the
- 35:39most PR thing of all time. But it's just that could really
- 35:42be extended as a metaphor, right?
- 35:44Like what has he brought to the tour?
- 35:46Not He brought Taylor so much happiness.
- 35:49He made her happier to perform, which is like the whole role of
- 35:53him as a boyfriend, right? Instead, she says he brought
- 35:56himself onto the stage and that could be interpreted as like the
- 36:00stage of their relationship being public and on stage.
- 36:05Like the art of it all, the meta, this of it all.
- 36:09He brought himself onto the stage of Taylor Swift.
- 36:13Like in the media, he has added a whole other dynamic to Taylor
- 36:18being a showgirl and being forced to perform one version of
- 36:22the Parallax when Taylor is describing this dance scene and
- 36:26wanting Travis to be in it, this like vaudeville performance
- 36:31right before I can do with a broken heart, she says, quote, I
- 36:35had this very dramatic idea where I'm a soldier fatally
- 36:38wounded. And then we have this very sort
- 36:40of like abouret dramatic vaudeville kind of skit where I
- 36:44have to perk up immediately to perform.
- 36:47If there was ever a point to put Travis in the show, I think this
- 36:51would be the one she's thinking back on when she first decided
- 36:55to put him in the show here. And it's just showing she was
- 36:57forced to perform, perform, right?
- 36:59She goes from being really sad to have a force to perform.
- 37:02And Travis, she says, would be perfect in this role.
- 37:07That's forcing her to perform on the show.
- 37:10This is like a metaphor for her life as well.
- 37:13And when he went on to do this performance, when we all saw
- 37:17this live, we were like, the fact that she chose this point
- 37:21of all other points is crazy because it's showing that he's
- 37:24forcing her to perform this relationship too.
- 37:27She's has to be the showgirl. And it's a transition from TTPD
- 37:31into the next era, the showgirl and how the showgirl is how she
- 37:34is behind the scenes of the heirs to her and on stage.
- 37:37And she said in the Press of life of a showgirl, she says,
- 37:41you know, for this album, I'm still in the exact place I was
- 37:44when I made the album. When she made the album, she was
- 37:46on tour. So she's showing.
- 37:48She's still on the stage, right? She's still performing for the
- 37:52crowd. The crowd is your king.
- 37:54Also, when Travis goes to the indie show, they like record
- 37:58them beneath the stage or whatever, which really quick
- 38:01point, when Taylor goes to greet him, Travis is literally not
- 38:05turning his head to like kiss her and whatever.
- 38:08It doesn't really mean that much.
- 38:09I just think it's kind of funny that he's like not like trying
- 38:12to kiss and hug her. But anyways, I was at that night
- 38:16of indie with Sophia, my girlfriend, and it's just pretty
- 38:20funny that like they were there and I was there for the mash up
- 38:23of Cowboy Like Me and Maroon, which she chose for Travis.
- 38:28And there's a still shot of Travis.
- 38:30And this is moving on to the Ross Travis cameo of Ross Travis
- 38:34and Travis watching these surprise songs, watching Taylor
- 38:38Swift sing Cowboy Like Me, You're a Cowboy Like Me, which
- 38:41is one of the gayest songs of all time.
- 38:43It's like Brokeback Mountain. And both of them are listening
- 38:45to the song together. It's crazy.
- 38:48The fact that I also was blessed to hear a mash up of Maroon and
- 38:51Cowboy Like me. I I blacked out the entire time.
- 38:54She's talking about Travis. She also says a lot of like this
- 38:57guy's the right fit for me, blah blah blah blah instead of like
- 39:02he's perfect because I love him or I fell in love and I'm not
- 39:06doubting their love. I just think it's interesting
- 39:09choice of words, like all of this is intentional, how they're
- 39:13talking about everything in this docu series but also the
- 39:16relationship. She also talks about how much
- 39:18the fans love Travis and how like he's perfect for the show.
- 39:24Crazy the fact that the Ross Travis cameo is straight up in
- 39:27the docu series that he is a part of this wild shit.
- 39:31Few more things here at large. This docu series is intentional,
- 39:36right? I think it's really refreshing
- 39:38to be able to see Taylor have stripped back, especially like
- 39:42watching her like warm up and watching her prep for the tour
- 39:48and all of this. Seeing her kind of in her
- 39:49natural state. I don't know, remind me of like
- 39:51why I became a fan. Like she's just like so, so
- 39:54captivating, but also so different on stage and off
- 39:57stage. And Florence Welch was even
- 39:59saying that too. She was like, I just know Taylor
- 40:03as like such a cozy person. And then I get on stage and holy
- 40:07shit, that's Taylor Swift. I don't know if she said holy
- 40:09shit but how she is off stage and how she is just walking
- 40:12around and everything is just so.
- 40:15Like seems so refreshing. She seems like such a like
- 40:18normal person, but even how she talks in interviews seems so
- 40:22different and seems so she seems so on It's docu series.
- 40:25It's not supposed to like reveal and strip back the true Taylor.
- 40:30It's supposed to strip back the errors to her.
- 40:32And with that we get a little glimpse of the real Taylor.
- 40:36It's supposed to also show the narrative of her departure from
- 40:39the eras. Like it's literally called the
- 40:41end of an era. And that era is not just the
- 40:44eras to her era, but it's also the era of her being a showgirl
- 40:47her whole career and perhaps her entering into a new era, which
- 40:51is the real tailor and her not having to be forced to perform
- 40:55and be the showgirl. And we can like look beyond the
- 40:58parallax. And we're seeing like the real
- 41:00her underneath it. I think we're seeing glimpses of
- 41:03that right now. But I think this is the last
- 41:06final chapter. She says all that's left to do
- 41:08is close the chapter, close the book, like the manuscript,
- 41:11Right. Dear reader, this has to end.
- 41:14This like big performance showgirl, It has to end at some
- 41:19point. We can only fit so many eras in
- 41:21the lover house, you know? But that's just my theory.
- 41:25I think this is the end of brand Taylor, AKA the showgirl.
- 41:29And there's just so much crafting of her brand, a very
- 41:32careful crafting of her brand. We see this and how she talks
- 41:36about her breakups. She doesn't name names,
- 41:38obviously. She rarely, rarely does that.
- 41:41She says, I went through two breakups, which is like a lot of
- 41:44breakups. And she says men will let you
- 41:46down. The heiress to or never will.
- 41:48And I love the reframing of like, obviously women being the
- 41:51center of the heiress to her. Like not just women, but like
- 41:54maybe like non men. She talks about girlhood a lot
- 41:58in the heiress to her, which is kind of the epitome of the
- 42:00heiress to her. And it's like true men will let
- 42:02you down. She also says the Tortured Poets
- 42:04album when she's talking about writing that album and the
- 42:07breakups, like, again, all of this is carefully presented to
- 42:10us. It's never like too much.
- 42:12It's just enough to inform the tour.
- 42:14It's just enough to inform the era and the performance we're
- 42:17seeing right now. She says, quote, the Tortured
- 42:20Poets album is like this purge of just like everything,
- 42:23everything bad that I felt for two years.
- 42:26And I think that's really interesting because she was
- 42:28unhappy with Joe for two years and they didn't break up that
- 42:32time. Like doesn't make sense.
- 42:33There's something different going on from the timeline that
- 42:36we are told. And I think that that is
- 42:38intentional, right, For telling us that like everything was bad
- 42:42before Travis, but also to kind of just say this general
- 42:47everything was bad, not just her relationship, but everything was
- 42:50bad. I think there's something to be
- 42:52said for Masters maybe trying to come out.
- 42:55Who knows what her real life relationships were like then.
- 42:59She's not being specific and people will just fill in the
- 43:02blanks with what they think to be true with their assumptions
- 43:06of the narrative. But she's really not telling us
- 43:09what specifically happened. Right.
- 43:11I went through two breakups. Men will let you down.
- 43:14But then also there were two years of her feeling bad and she
- 43:19says, quote, no one sees me as a real human being and like
- 43:22especially not men that I date. And she said nothing.
- 43:26Nothing works with men that she dates.
- 43:29We're seeing the song hits different and how hits different
- 43:31was put in this docu series too. I used to switch out these cans.
- 43:36I just ghost moving on. Was always easy for me to do,
- 43:39but it hits different. Why are you different than all
- 43:41the cans? Right?
- 43:42I could still melt your world. Argumentative antithetical dream
- 43:46girl. So like she's talking about all
- 43:48the Kens and why this person is different.
- 43:50Then we hear Taylor saying that her mom told her, you know,
- 43:53after these breakups you have to do something different.
- 43:56And then we have this hits different song in the docu
- 44:00series where she's talking about why it's different.
- 44:03She says nothing is working with these men, right?
- 44:06Her mom says try something different.
- 44:08She puts hits different in the docu series.
- 44:11What's different than a man? It's a woman.
- 44:13Like I don't know. I mean, it's possible that like
- 44:15she had been mostly dating men and then like only recently
- 44:18switched to dating women. That's a possibility to like we
- 44:21don't know. I just think that was pretty
- 44:24striking. Finally with this like careful
- 44:28crafting of her brand and like the careful words she is using
- 44:31to like fit every narrative because at this point, again,
- 44:34she is entertaining us. She is showing us just enough,
- 44:37OK, just enough to get a glimpse behind the parallax, but not too
- 44:40much. We see the behind the scenes of
- 44:41her making the TikTok of her in the orange sweatshirt next to
- 44:45the 12 sign. This was obviously to foreshadow
- 44:48TS-12, which ended up coming out almost exactly a year later.
- 44:52And the theme is orange. She's telling an entire team to
- 44:55film this TikTok for her. We have this idea that she's
- 44:58like, wait, let me just film a TikTok real quick.
- 45:00And that's not what's happening. She brought her one cat for it.
- 45:03She put on a specific outfit. There's a whole team watching
- 45:06her film this TikTok because most things she does with Taylor
- 45:10Swift TM are intentional. She's on the job, right?
- 45:15Everything she's doing when she's making public media is
- 45:19public. Taylor Swift, it is the
- 45:21showgirl. And then finally, you have her
- 45:23talk about the election. Now listen again, she's in Indy.
- 45:27I was there that weekend. She's talking about the
- 45:30election, just kind of mentions it.
- 45:33She goes, it's my last American tour day.
- 45:36The election is in five days, and I want to provide an escape
- 45:40for people. And at Indy, there were a lot of
- 45:45protesters, really homophobic protesters.
- 45:47And I wonder if she was maybe thinking about that when she was
- 45:51saying this and maybe trying to be like, I wanted to give people
- 45:54like a safe space inside the heiress to her from what was
- 45:57happening outside with the election.
- 45:58I don't think it's enough of a statement.
- 46:00Obviously, we know she did endorse Kamala Harris before
- 46:04this, so we know how she stood, but I think it would have been a
- 46:09good time to also double down on that, obviously.
- 46:13But yeah, just interesting that she's saying like it's a
- 46:16distraction. I want people to have a space
- 46:19away from politics, which is exactly my theory of breads and
- 46:22circuses, giving the people what they want, keeping them fed and
- 46:25happy, right? There's a negative connotation.
- 46:28There's a positive connotation. I think the positive connotation
- 46:30is like, you don't need to have to worry about the outside
- 46:34world. Let's just have this safe space
- 46:35together. And then there's a negative
- 46:37connotation where it's like, are giving the people what they want
- 46:40and giving a false image in order to expose how the industry
- 46:46will just keep feeding people entertainment so they will stay
- 46:49docile. And I think that could be her
- 46:51proving a point later, breaking the mirror ball, breaking this
- 46:56performance, being the real tailor in order to, like, make a
- 47:00better situation for other artists in the future.
- 47:03And yeah, like, just like last note, I think I just really
- 47:05loved how much she talked about her team.
- 47:08It is so rare for artists this big who've been in this industry
- 47:12for so long to have such a loyal team, down to her stylist, for
- 47:16singers that have been with her for a while, her band that not
- 47:19only performs with her on stage at like every tour, but also
- 47:23records with her, her management.
- 47:26And this is what I'm saying with people who don't believe that
- 47:30she could be so different than her public life is, is that she
- 47:36has such a committed team that knows her really well and they
- 47:41would not fuck up her life. Like she doesn't have a
- 47:44revolving door of people that are in and out.
- 47:47She has these loyal fucking people that can keep a secret
- 47:50that she literally told Stephen Colbert they could.
- 47:52But I just think it goes to show that like you can say whatever
- 47:56you want about Taylor Swift, but she is a good boss.
- 47:59You can say that her talking about how good of a boss she is
- 48:02is annoying, but she would not have this committed of a team
- 48:06through decades if she was not a good person to work with.
- 48:10And that's just a fact. Wow.
- 48:12So that was a lot. And there's still stuff that I
- 48:16feel like I didn't even cover. But that's why I'm going to be
- 48:19talking about more of this on my bonus episode that will be
- 48:22coming out after Christmas. Please keep me updated with your
