- 0:04Speaker 1: Carrying a lot of bags. When he checked in, he
- 0:08Speaker 1: told the attendant, I need to send one bag to Seattle,
- 0:14Speaker 1: one bag to Cleveland, one bag to Miami. She said, sir,
- 0:21Speaker 1: we don't do that. He said, you did last week.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Maybe you know what it's like to wonder if Something
- 0:34Speaker 1: valuable is going to reach its destination. Well, that's our
- 0:38Speaker 1: topic for this morning. And that is the commitment of
- 0:43Speaker 1: God to deliver the most precious, precious gift to heaven.
- 0:49Speaker 1: And that is you, your soul. And what he has
- 0:53Speaker 1: committed to do, he will accomplish. And the Holy Spirit
- 0:58Speaker 1: is the one responsible for delivering us to heaven. We're
- 1:02Speaker 1: talking about this because during these months, we're looking at
- 1:07Speaker 1: different aspects of the majesty and the ministry of the
- 1:11Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. Doing so by virtue of different word pictures
- 1:16Speaker 1: that the Holy Spirit gives us to help us understand
- 1:19Speaker 1: who he is. Wind, dove, next week we'll look at oil.
- 1:24Speaker 1: And this week, the Holy Spirit as the one who
- 1:28Speaker 1: seals us, who adopts us. At the end of this message,
- 1:34Speaker 1: we'll have a time of prayer because I believe that
- 1:37Speaker 1: this is truly a miracle of the Holy Spirit when
- 1:40Speaker 1: he convinces us that he's in charge of getting us
- 1:44Speaker 1: home safely. We want to pray toward that end. Also,
- 1:47Speaker 1: we'll be offering prayers for those who have any need
- 1:51Speaker 1: for prayer whatsoever. We call this a collective prayer. In
- 1:54Speaker 1: other words, we'll collect everybody at the front who wants
- 1:57Speaker 1: to receive prayer, and I'll offer that prayer on behalf
- 2:01Speaker 1: of us all. So if you feel prompted, you might
- 2:03Speaker 1: be aware of that opportunity and receive that prayer toward
- 2:07Speaker 1: the end of the message. Now let's pray and then
- 2:10Speaker 1: we'll get to work. Thank you, Father, for this opportunity
- 2:14Speaker 1: that you give us to open the Bible. We believe
- 2:17Speaker 1: you're talking to us through the Bible and we thank
- 2:20Speaker 1: you for it. We would like to ask you to
- 2:23Speaker 1: forgive our speaker his many sins, for they are many,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and help us to see Jesus today, just Christ. Through
- 2:31Speaker 1: Christ we pray. Amen. I have a childhood memory, one
- 2:37Speaker 1: that you might find familiar. It's a tender memory. My
- 2:42Speaker 1: parents and my grandparents conspired for me to spend a
- 2:47Speaker 1: week during a summer once at the home of my grandparents.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I was just a lad. I want to say nine
- 2:55Speaker 1: years old, maybe ten at the most. And my parents
- 2:59Speaker 1: and grandparents came up with this plan. My parents would
- 3:03Speaker 1: take me to the bus station, load me on a bus,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and there I would ride the three hours from my
- 3:13Speaker 1: home to my grandparents' home. And once I reached my
- 3:16Speaker 1: grandparents' home, they would meet the bus at the bus
- 3:20Speaker 1: station and they would take me to their house. My
- 3:24Speaker 1: job was according to my mother, and she told me
- 3:27Speaker 1: this if not once, a dozen times, was to get
- 3:31Speaker 1: on the bus, sit in the seat, and not get
- 3:35Speaker 1: off at any of the stops. If I had to
- 3:38Speaker 1: get off, let it be for biological reasons only. And
- 3:43Speaker 1: then get back on the bus as soon as possible.
- 3:46Speaker 1: She was wise to be concerned, right? I mean, things
- 3:50Speaker 1: can happen. The road can grow treacherous. Kids can grow restless,
- 3:55Speaker 1: even rebellious. And so she was wise to be concerned. Still,
- 3:59Speaker 1: my parents took the risk and they took me to
- 4:02Speaker 1: the bus station. When we reached the bus station, my
- 4:07Speaker 1: dad did something that to this day I find affectionate.
- 4:13Speaker 1: He handed me a little bit of money, not much,
- 4:15Speaker 1: maybe two or three dollars. And then affixed to the
- 4:19Speaker 1: money was a pre-written note. And he took the money
- 4:23Speaker 1: and the note, and he stuck them both in my
- 4:25Speaker 1: shirt pocket. My parents said goodbye to me, loaded me
- 4:31Speaker 1: on the bus, and off I went. And sure enough,
- 4:34Speaker 1: the bus stopped in thriving metropolises like Slayton, Texas, and Idaloo, Texas.
- 4:41Speaker 1: And finally, we made it all the way to Rawls, Texas,
- 4:45Speaker 1: where my Grandparents were waiting on me and I got
- 4:48Speaker 1: off the bus and there they were. The trip went
- 4:51Speaker 1: off without a hitch. In fact, the only reason that
- 4:56Speaker 1: event warrants a discussion today is because of that note
- 5:02Speaker 1: that my father wrote and stuck in my shirt pocket.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I wish I could recall the exact wording. I cannot.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It's been too long. But it must have read something
- 5:14Speaker 1: like this because I know the purpose of the note.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And the note might have read like this. This boy
- 5:22Speaker 1: belongs to Jack and Thelma Locato because the note had
- 5:27Speaker 1: my parents' address or my address and our phone number.
- 5:31Speaker 1: And the idea was that if, perchance, I was somehow
- 5:35Speaker 1: separated from the bus and ended up lost, that note
- 5:40Speaker 1: might reconnect me with my family. I am so glad
- 5:46Speaker 1: today to dedicate the next few moments to telling you
- 5:51Speaker 1: how and telling you that God has written that kind
- 5:56Speaker 1: of note for you. Affixed to your soul is a
- 6:02Speaker 1: message that says, this one belongs to me. The road
- 6:09Speaker 1: to heaven can be treacherous. Kids can get restless. His
- 6:14Speaker 1: children can grow rebellious. And the evil one can come
- 6:18Speaker 1: and he can tempt, he can woo, he can try
- 6:22Speaker 1: to trip us, but he cannot have us. Why? Because
- 6:26Speaker 1: we belong to him. And the responsibility for delivering us
- 6:32Speaker 1: safely into the kingdom that is to come is entrusted
- 6:37Speaker 1: to no one less than the third son, member of
- 6:42Speaker 1: the Trinity, the Holy Spirit. And he is the one
- 6:47Speaker 1: who has sealed us, and he is the one who
- 6:50Speaker 1: has made sure that we are adopted. If you'd like
- 6:54Speaker 1: to fill in the blanks, I want to try to
- 6:56Speaker 1: show you, first of all, that you are sealed. You
- 7:00Speaker 1: are sealed. When the Ephesian Christians believed the gospel, the
- 7:06Speaker 1: apostle told them, You were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Upon believing in Christ, they were sealed with the promised
- 7:15Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. This is, in the Greek language, a real
- 7:18Speaker 1: strong past tense called arist. And it means something that
- 7:21Speaker 1: happened once and for all and does not need to
- 7:24Speaker 1: happen again. It does not suggest any necessary occurrence in
- 7:29Speaker 1: the future. In other words, the phrase is not, we
- 7:32Speaker 1: are hoping we will someday be sealed. We have been sealed.
- 7:37Speaker 1: We have been sealed by who? The Holy Spirit. The
- 7:41Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. He has sealed us. How many of you
- 7:44Speaker 1: sealed something this week? Maybe you sealed a jar to
- 7:49Speaker 1: protect its contents. I've seen those mason jars that have
- 7:53Speaker 1: those rubberized lids, right? And you seal them and it's
- 7:58Speaker 1: locked safe. You sealed the jar to protect those pickles
- 8:02Speaker 1: because they're so valuable to you. Maybe you sealed an envelope,
- 8:06Speaker 1: you licked it and you double checked to make sure
- 8:09Speaker 1: it wouldn't come open. Maybe you notarized a document for
- 8:13Speaker 1: what purpose? So you could seal the deal. When you
- 8:19Speaker 1: seal something, you declare ownership and you protect the contents.
- 8:26Speaker 1: When you seal something, you declare, you protect, I got
- 8:32Speaker 1: my words all mixed up there. I'm not as bright
- 8:34Speaker 1: as I look sometimes. You declare ownership and you protect
- 8:41Speaker 1: the contents. Now, when the Holy Spirit sealed you, do
- 8:46Speaker 1: you understand that he declared ownership and he is protecting you?
- 8:56Speaker 1: You are too valuable to God to leave unguarded. Yes,
- 9:02Speaker 1: the evil one may woo you. Yes, the evil one
- 9:05Speaker 1: may influence you. Yes, the evil one may come and
- 9:08Speaker 1: try to distract you. But God paid too high a
- 9:11Speaker 1: price for you to leave you unguarded. For that reason,
- 9:16Speaker 1: Paul writes later in the same epistle, remember, he is
- 9:20Speaker 1: the one who has identified you as his own, guaranteeing
- 9:27Speaker 1: that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
- 9:32Speaker 1: You are sealed. And you're adopted. You're adopted. Now we're
- 9:39Speaker 1: flipping over to the book of Romans. And here the
- 9:42Speaker 1: apostle Paul changes metaphors. And he says, all who are
- 9:46Speaker 1: led by the spirit of God are children of God.
- 9:50Speaker 1: So you have not received a spirit that makes you
- 9:52Speaker 1: fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's spirit when he, look
- 9:57Speaker 1: at this, adopted you as his own children. Now we
- 10:02Speaker 1: call him Abba Father. For his spirit joins with our
- 10:07Speaker 1: spirit to affirm that we are God's children. And since
- 10:10Speaker 1: we are his children, we are what, church? His heirs.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So Paul is contrasting here two types of relationships. the
- 10:19Speaker 1: master-slave relationship and the father-child relationship. He says we're not
- 10:26Speaker 1: in a slave relationship with the master. It's not a
- 10:31Speaker 1: relationship that incurs fear. You see, a master-slave relationship is
- 10:37Speaker 1: a relationship that depends upon performance and that stirs an unsettledness.
- 10:43Speaker 1: What if the master doesn't approve? What if the master
- 10:46Speaker 1: grows angry? What if the master sells me? The father-child relationship, however,
- 10:53Speaker 1: is one of security. One into which we've been adopted
- 10:57Speaker 1: into a commitment, a covenant relationship. Did you know that
- 11:01Speaker 1: in the Old Testament, God is called our father 15 times?
- 11:07Speaker 1: But in the New Testament, God is called our father
- 11:10Speaker 1: 200 times. And the New Testament is much slimmer than
- 11:17Speaker 1: the Old Testament. What happened? What happened between the Old
- 11:21Speaker 1: and the New Covenant? Simple. Jesus happened. Jesus happened. And
- 11:28Speaker 1: because He died on the cross for your sins and
- 11:31Speaker 1: for mine, we can be adopted into the family of God.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It's not a slave-master relationship. It's a father-child relationship. Now
- 11:43Speaker 1: this is important in any era. But to the readers
- 11:48Speaker 1: in Rome who read this it would have had added
- 11:52Speaker 1: significance because in ancient Rome, there were unique laws that
- 11:59Speaker 1: provided an opportunity for parents to adopt non-relatives to serve
- 12:04Speaker 1: not just as heirs, but as firstborn heirs. If for
- 12:09Speaker 1: some reason they were not happy with their firstborn son,
- 12:13Speaker 1: they could actually adopt someone and that person would become
- 12:19Speaker 1: the equivalent of of a firstborn in their family. And
- 12:22Speaker 1: that adopted person had four privileges. Number one, they lost
- 12:27Speaker 1: all relationship with their former family and everything was gone
- 12:30Speaker 1: and all rights were gained in the new family. Number two,
- 12:34Speaker 1: he became an heir to the entirety of the father's estate.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Number three, the former life of the adopted person was
- 12:41Speaker 1: completely wiped out. It's as if that old life never
- 12:44Speaker 1: happened and all the debts were canceled. And in the
- 12:47Speaker 1: eyes of the law, the adopted person was literally and
- 12:50Speaker 1: absolutely the son of the new father. Now, this is
- 12:54Speaker 1: what Christ made possible for us. We are undeniably God.
- 13:00Speaker 1: We have access to all the resources of our Heavenly Father.
- 13:05Speaker 1: And the Holy Spirit is the one who convinces us
- 13:07Speaker 1: of this transaction. Look what He does. He joins with
- 13:11Speaker 1: our spirit to affirm that we are God's children. This
- 13:17Speaker 1: is a bit mystical, so work with me on this.
- 13:20Speaker 1: But the Spirit of God communes, interacts with our spirit
- 13:26Speaker 1: to affirm that something wonderful has happened. And that is
- 13:31Speaker 1: we have a relationship with God that is a father-child
- 13:35Speaker 1: relationship and that we can call God our Abba Father.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Now the Apostle Paul loved to talk about this. He
- 13:43Speaker 1: picked up this same theme in the book of Galatians. Galatians,
- 13:48Speaker 1: kind of a parallel paragraph from Galatians chapter 4. When
- 13:52Speaker 1: the time arrived that was set by God the Father,
- 13:55Speaker 1: God sent His Son, born among us of a woman,
- 13:59Speaker 1: born under the conditions of the law, so that He
- 14:03Speaker 1: might redeem those of us who have been kidnapped by
- 14:06Speaker 1: the law. Thus we have been set free to experience,
- 14:10Speaker 1: look at this, our rightful heritage. You can tell for
- 14:14Speaker 1: sure that you are now fully adopted as His own
- 14:17Speaker 1: children because God sent us. the Spirit of His Son
- 14:21Speaker 1: into our lives, crying out, Papa, Father, doesn't that privilege,
- 14:28Speaker 1: that privilege of an intimate conversation of God make it
- 14:31Speaker 1: plain that you are not a slave, but a child?
- 14:37Speaker 1: This mystical communion between the Holy Spirit of heaven and
- 14:41Speaker 1: the inner spirit of men and women affirms within us
- 14:46Speaker 1: that we can call God our Father. In other words,
- 14:49Speaker 1: apart from the Holy Spirit, we will not call God
- 14:52Speaker 1: our Father. We may say the words, but we won't
- 14:55Speaker 1: trust that we have access to the inner circle of
- 15:00Speaker 1: the King of Kings. That's too distant of a thought.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Most people keep God at a distance. They fear talking
- 15:08Speaker 1: to Him. They believe He's a distant deity if He
- 15:11Speaker 1: exists at all. But when a person gives his or
- 15:15Speaker 1: her heart to Christ... Christ sends the Spirit to assure
- 15:22Speaker 1: us that a legal transaction has taken place and we
- 15:26Speaker 1: have been adopted and that we can call our Heavenly Father, Father.
- 15:33Speaker 1: A supernatural gift has come our way. Romans chapter 5
- 15:37Speaker 1: and verse 5 says we can do this because the
- 15:39Speaker 1: love of God has been poured out within our hearts
- 15:45Speaker 1: through the Holy Spirit. who was given to us. Your
- 15:52Speaker 1: name's not written in the book of life with a pencil.
- 15:56Speaker 1: God's not hovering over your written name with an eraser,
- 16:00Speaker 1: just waiting for an opportunity for you to mess up
- 16:02Speaker 1: so he can erase you out of the book. Your
- 16:06Speaker 1: name has been written in the book of life with
- 16:11Speaker 1: the blood of Jesus Christ. He has already looked at
- 16:14Speaker 1: your life from beginning to end. And he has wrapped
- 16:19Speaker 1: his spirit around you as if to seal you. He
- 16:23Speaker 1: has adopted you as if to say, you call me
- 16:26Speaker 1: your father. I'll make sure that you get home safely. Again,
- 16:31Speaker 1: the apostle Paul loved this. He talked about it in
- 16:34Speaker 1: 2 Corinthians. He said, God affirms us, making us a
- 16:38Speaker 1: sure thing in Christ, putting his yes within us. By
- 16:42Speaker 1: his spirit, he has stamped us with his eternal pledge.
- 16:47Speaker 1: a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Some time ago, a dear friend told me about the
- 16:57Speaker 1: day she became a Christian. She described it as the
- 17:00Speaker 1: most wonderful day in her life. And then the next
- 17:03Speaker 1: day she described as the worst day of her life.
- 17:06Speaker 1: And I said, why? She said, because I awoke with
- 17:09Speaker 1: this thought, what if I mess it up? What if
- 17:13Speaker 1: I mess it up? What if I can't finish? What
- 17:15Speaker 1: if I fall? What if I'm not faithful? And I
- 17:18Speaker 1: was so happy to tell her that she was sealed
- 17:22Speaker 1: and is sealed with the Holy Spirit. And what matters
- 17:26Speaker 1: is not our hold on God, but it is God's
- 17:30Speaker 1: hold on us. That he has taken responsibility for delivering
- 17:37Speaker 1: us into heaven. And I'm sensing even now in my
- 17:41Speaker 1: spirit that this is news to some of you. And
- 17:45Speaker 1: you know that fear. And you live in a, I
- 17:50Speaker 1: don't know, beneath a cloud, a doubt, concerned, anxious. And
- 17:56Speaker 1: you know that fear that comes from wondering if you
- 18:00Speaker 1: might not be able to hold out or hold on.
- 18:04Speaker 1: If so, you're not alone in this fear. Robert Harkness
- 18:09Speaker 1: was a gifted Australian pianist who traveled with a well-known
- 18:14Speaker 1: evangelist by the name of R.A. Torrey. They traveled the
- 18:18Speaker 1: world primarily in the first half of the last century.
- 18:23Speaker 1: He relates an occasion in which he was in Canada
- 18:26Speaker 1: with the evangelist and that a certain young man became
- 18:31Speaker 1: a Christian and then came several nights in a row.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And then after several nights, he approached the piano player
- 18:38Speaker 1: and he said, I have a question for you. He said,
- 18:40Speaker 1: what if I can't hold on? What if I let
- 18:44Speaker 1: go of God? This caused the young piano player to
- 18:48Speaker 1: sense the desire to help all Christians to believe in
- 18:53Speaker 1: God's ability to hold on to us. And true to
- 18:57Speaker 1: being a musician, he thought, well, the best way to
- 19:00Speaker 1: do this is with the songs. And he had a
- 19:04Speaker 1: friend in London who was a songwriter. In fact, she
- 19:08Speaker 1: was a co-worker of the famous preacher Charles Spurgeon. Her name,
- 19:13Speaker 1: Ada Habershon. He wrote her and expressed to her his concern.
- 19:19Speaker 1: In response, she wrote not just one song, but seven.
- 19:24Speaker 1: One of those songs is a treasure indeed. It's entitled,
- 19:28Speaker 1: Christ Will Hold Me Fast. That phrase, he will hold
- 19:33Speaker 1: me fast, is that old English way of saying he
- 19:36Speaker 1: will hold me securely. The lyrics read like this. When
- 19:40Speaker 1: I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast.
- 19:44Speaker 1: When the tempter would prevail, he will hold me fast.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I could never. keep my hold through life's fearful path,
- 19:53Speaker 1: for my love is often cold. He must hold me fast,
- 19:57Speaker 1: and He will. He will hold me fast. He will
- 20:01Speaker 1: hold me fast, for my Savior loves me so. He
- 20:05Speaker 1: will hold me fast. Those he saves are his delight.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Christ will hold me fast. Precious in his holy sight,
- 20:14Speaker 1: he will hold me fast. He'll not let my soul
- 20:17Speaker 1: be lost. His promises shall last, bought by him at
- 20:22Speaker 1: such a cost. He will hold me fast till our
- 20:25Speaker 1: faith is turned to sight when he comes at last.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Why is this important? Why is it important for you
- 20:38Speaker 1: to know that you are sealed by the Spirit and
- 20:42Speaker 1: adopted by the Father? Simple. There is power in assurance.
- 20:49Speaker 1: There's power in assurance. Over the past few weeks, I've
- 20:54Speaker 1: been in communication with a young college graduate. She requested
- 20:58Speaker 1: that I pray for her to be accepted into law school.
- 21:03Speaker 1: And she filled out the forms and she submitted her application.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And then for several weeks lived in anxiety, really a
- 21:10Speaker 1: couple of months. She was worried. And whenever I would
- 21:14Speaker 1: ask her about it, she would say, but what if
- 21:16Speaker 1: I don't get in? What if I don't get accepted?
- 21:19Speaker 1: What does that say about me as a student? What
- 21:21Speaker 1: will I do in the fall? But then came that
- 21:24Speaker 1: wonderful day. She received a letter that began with the phrase,
- 21:28Speaker 1: we are pleased to inform you. And that phrase changed everything.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Because now she knew she had been accepted. And the
- 21:37Speaker 1: next time I saw her, her countenance was different. She
- 21:41Speaker 1: had a brightness to her face. She had a spring
- 21:43Speaker 1: to her step. And she was making plans. And she
- 21:47Speaker 1: was confident she knew what was next. Oh, dear child
- 21:51Speaker 1: of God. God has given you something far greater than
- 21:56Speaker 1: acceptance into a law school. He has given you the
- 22:00Speaker 1: assurance of eternal life. And the affirmation of the Spirit
- 22:05Speaker 1: with our spirit is we are headed home. The apostle
- 22:11Speaker 1: picked up this theme, this time the apostle John. In
- 22:15Speaker 1: 1 John chapter 4 verses 16 through 19. He said,
- 22:19Speaker 1: so we will not be afraid on the day of judgment.
- 22:22Speaker 1: But we can face him, speaking of Christ, with confidence.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Because we are like Christ here in this world. How
- 22:29Speaker 1: are we like Christ, one might say. Well, we've been adopted.
- 22:33Speaker 1: We've been adopted into the family. Such love has no
- 22:36Speaker 1: fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we're afraid,
- 22:40Speaker 1: it's for fear of judgment. This shows that his love
- 22:43Speaker 1: has not been perfected in us. We love each other
- 22:45Speaker 1: because he loved us first. Would you let the spirit
- 22:49Speaker 1: of Christ mature and perfect the love of God in
- 22:53Speaker 1: your heart? And you know the love of God is
- 22:56Speaker 1: mature and perfected when his love casts out any fear,
- 23:02Speaker 1: any fear. any fear of the judgment, any fear of tomorrow,
- 23:06Speaker 1: any fear of your final moments or your first moments
- 23:09Speaker 1: in heaven, final moments on earth, your first moments in heaven.
- 23:13Speaker 1: You see, God loves you with a perfect love. What
- 23:16Speaker 1: does this mean? It means he has a perfect vision
- 23:19Speaker 1: of you. He has a perfect awareness of your past.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Every back alley, backhanded, backseat moment, he knows it. Every
- 23:31Speaker 1: thought that you pray no one else ever knows about,
- 23:34Speaker 1: He knows. He has a perfect awareness of you. There's
- 23:38Speaker 1: not anything you've ever done that's kept from Him. He
- 23:42Speaker 1: has perfect knowledge of you. What's more, He has perfect
- 23:46Speaker 1: knowledge of your future. He can see everything you and
- 23:49Speaker 1: I are going to do. Armed with perfect knowledge of
- 23:54Speaker 1: our past, perfect knowledge of the future, He is perfectly
- 23:59Speaker 1: willing to love us still. It is this perfect love
- 24:03Speaker 1: that comes and it washes out the fear. It gives
- 24:07Speaker 1: us that confidence, that assurance of saying, well, he knows
- 24:10Speaker 1: me anyway and he loves me still. The apostle said,
- 24:15Speaker 1: we'll not be afraid on the day of judgment, but
- 24:17Speaker 1: we can face him with confidence because we are like Christ.
- 24:23Speaker 1: here in this world. Just like Christ, we're a part
- 24:26Speaker 1: of that holy family. Just like Christ, we can talk
- 24:29Speaker 1: to God with that intimate prayer language of Abba Father.
- 24:37Speaker 1: The National Center for Fathering is dedicated to helping dads
- 24:41Speaker 1: be better dads. They hold seminars all over the country.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Part of their seminar includes this simple question. How many
- 24:50Speaker 1: of you dads were told by your dad that your
- 24:55Speaker 1: father loved you and he told you this on a
- 24:57Speaker 1: regular basis. According to the director of the National Center
- 25:01Speaker 1: for Fathering, only three to four percent of the hens
- 25:06Speaker 1: go up in the air as an answer to that question.
- 25:09Speaker 1: When I read that, I thought, I wonder how many Christians,
- 25:13Speaker 1: I wonder how many Christians could answer the question positively
- 25:21Speaker 1: that they sense the Spirit telling them They are loved
- 25:25Speaker 1: by their Father. Do you sense the Spirit even today?
- 25:30Speaker 1: I cannot think of a more important message for you
- 25:32Speaker 1: to receive by virtue of the Holy Spirit than that one.
- 25:37Speaker 1: That you are loved by God and that He knows you.
- 25:42Speaker 1: The Apostle Paul says, we know how dearly God loves
- 25:47Speaker 1: us because He has given us the Holy Spirit to what?
- 25:50Speaker 1: Fill our hearts with Would you let him fill your
- 25:54Speaker 1: heart with love today? Would you please? Would you let
- 25:59Speaker 1: him remind you that you are sealed by the Spirit,
- 26:02Speaker 1: you're adopted by the Father, and that affixed to your
- 26:06Speaker 1: soul is a note written by your Father that says,
- 26:11Speaker 1: this one belongs to me. Heavenly Father, we now welcome
- 26:17Speaker 1: your presence as you minister unto us. we welcome the
- 26:22Speaker 1: presence of the Holy Spirit. To say these words, maybe
- 26:26Speaker 1: for the first time, maybe for the millionth time.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Loving you alone feels so beautiful. And yet, it hurts
- 26:42Speaker 2: the most.
- 26:47Speaker 3: You became my quiet sunrise A dream I never dared
- 26:52Speaker 3: to say.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Every smile you gave.
- 26:56Speaker 2: So freely Took my breath a little away I.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Held this love like fragile glass So precious, soft and true.
- 27:08Speaker 2: But every beat inside my heart Was only reaching out
- 27:13Speaker 2: to you.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Unspoken love is sweet and painful Like honey mixed with
- 27:22Speaker 4: rain A tender hope I hold so tightly While it
- 27:28Speaker 4: slowly breaks me Loving you from just one side now
- 27:33Speaker 4: Leaves my soul in silent blue Cause the deeper that
- 27:38Speaker 4: I fall alone The lonelier I do I.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Can't blame my heart for choosing Someone it could never keep.
- 27:53Speaker 3: So I smile through hidden heartache and love you quietly.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Unspoken love is sweet and painful like honey mixed with rain.
- 28:07Speaker 4: A tender hope I hold so tightly while it slowly
- 28:13Speaker 4: breaks me. Loving you from just one side now leaves my.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Soul in silent bloom.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Cause the deeper that I fall alone, the lonelier I do.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Maybe loving you in silence is the closest I can stay.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Though it leaves behind a sorrow that may never fade away.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Unspoken love is sweet and painful, like honey mixed with rain.
- 29:09Speaker 4: A tender hope I hold so tightly while it Slowly
- 29:14Speaker 4: breaks me loving you.
- 29:17Speaker 2: From just one side now.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Leaves my soul in silent blue Cause the deeper that
- 29:24Speaker 4: I fall alone The lonelier I do
