- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. After ten yard lives second to day free
- 0:08Speaker 1: wide receivers now in motion as bumpers left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones a single setback Matt pump fis looking at
- 0:14Speaker 1: the goal line. He throws it into the end zone.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Touchdown Seahawks. It's Michael Bumpus with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone our ten yard touchdown reception for puppas and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team powered by Seahawks dot Com. What folst?
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is Michael Bumpas here listens to Hot Talk the
- 0:36Speaker 1: recap edition. The Seahawks beat the Buccaneers forty to thirty
- 0:40Speaker 1: four and a thrilling overtime game. Like we usually do,
- 0:44Speaker 1: We're gonna start off this episode with Ray Roberts on
- 0:47Speaker 1: the phone. How you doing, big, Ray? Knowing? Pretty good man,
- 0:50Speaker 1: Just catching my breath after that game yesterday. I mean
- 0:53Speaker 1: it's just as the world win back and forth and
- 0:56Speaker 1: then overtime win was pretty incredible. Awesome game, awesome game.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So let's talk about the run game. You know you're
- 1:02Speaker 1: you're the old line guru. Um, how nice was it
- 1:05Speaker 1: to see the Seattle Seahawks run the football against probably
- 1:09Speaker 1: the best defensive line or run defense in the NFL. Well,
- 1:14Speaker 1: the thing that was good was the actual game plan.
- 1:17Speaker 1: They came out knowing that, you know, that they're gonna
- 1:20Speaker 1: have to sew the ball to win, and they got
- 1:22Speaker 1: the receivers into a good rhythm with Russell and then
- 1:25Speaker 1: that kind of opened up some lanes for the run game.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And for the most part, you know, my biggest concern
- 1:31Speaker 1: going into this game with Joey Hunt in the middle,
- 1:33Speaker 1: having to go against the Dominican Sue and and Vita
- 1:36Speaker 1: Via all these all for a bunch of snaps. Dues
- 1:38Speaker 1: had a bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic than he was.
- 1:41Speaker 1: But he did a really good job working with the
- 1:43Speaker 1: double teams with Flucker and with your Potty, and then
- 1:46Speaker 1: also working himself up to the second level defender to
- 1:49Speaker 1: the linebackers in order to create some priests for Carson.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I mean, Carson only had uh, you know, sixteen terryes,
- 1:55Speaker 1: but they had over one hundred, over one hundred yards Russian.
- 1:57Speaker 1: So did a really good job. I think, I think,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you know, for all the heat that Shotty gets and
- 2:03Speaker 1: the Seahaws get for uh, you know, wanting to run
- 2:06Speaker 1: the ball all the time. I thought they had a
- 2:08Speaker 1: really good game plan on how to get their run
- 2:10Speaker 1: game accomplished yesterday and they executed really well. So Russell
- 2:14Speaker 1: Wilson has a thirty fourth, fourth quarter or over time win.
- 2:17Speaker 1: What you see out of Russell Wilson, what makes this
- 2:19Speaker 1: guy so special? You know what it's? Uh? I heard
- 2:23Speaker 1: Pete Carroll talking about him earlier and he was saying
- 2:25Speaker 1: that the thing that makes them so special as you
- 2:27Speaker 1: never know what's gonna come next. The dude is always
- 2:30Speaker 1: coming up with some kind of way to win, completing
- 2:32Speaker 1: a pass, escaping a pass rush, uh, you know, picking
- 2:36Speaker 1: up yards with his legs. He finds a way to
- 2:39Speaker 1: to get the ball into the hands of the people
- 2:41Speaker 1: that can to make plays. And Tyler Lockett and and
- 2:44Speaker 1: DK Metcalfs and so to me, it was just another
- 2:47Speaker 1: one of those examples as to this year, hopefully more
- 2:51Speaker 1: than any other year, that people around the country are
- 2:54Speaker 1: really taking notice to Russell Wilson. To dude is in
- 2:56Speaker 1: complete command of the offense. He's in complete command his
- 3:00Speaker 1: talent and the skill set. He's in complete command of
- 3:03Speaker 1: the situation of the game and knowing when to do it.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You know what to do and how to do it
- 3:07Speaker 1: and when to do it, and it's just I mean,
- 3:09Speaker 1: it's just phenomenal. Like you knew that when we got
- 3:12Speaker 1: the ball in the overtime that we were going to
- 3:14Speaker 1: walk off the field with the victory just because the
- 3:16Speaker 1: way Russell was playing. He's a smooth operator. So let's
- 3:20Speaker 1: talk about this defense. The defense continues to struggle against
- 3:23Speaker 1: the past. What do you think they need to do?
- 3:24Speaker 1: Big Ray? You know what Mike's uh, you know, we
- 3:27Speaker 1: were talking on this on the show yesterday, and at
- 3:29Speaker 1: this point in the season, I don't know what there
- 3:31Speaker 1: is that you can do. I just know that they
- 3:33Speaker 1: need to find a way to disrupt the other team's
- 3:37Speaker 1: quarterback in his flow. Whether that's pressures and you're you're
- 3:41Speaker 1: chasing them off the spot and having them to throw,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you know, bad passes, or maybe create turnovers, or if
- 3:46Speaker 1: that's getting hits on the quarterback just so he can
- 3:48Speaker 1: hear the footsteps in the while he's in the pocket
- 3:51Speaker 1: and maybe that makes him a little nervous. And then
- 3:53Speaker 1: ultimately whether or not you can generate some sacks somehow.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I know yesterday they were doing everything. They brought different blitzes,
- 3:59Speaker 1: they were bringing Taylor off the corner. They Bobby Wagner,
- 4:02Speaker 1: who got thinking got his first sack of the season
- 4:04Speaker 1: a lot yesterday, and then also Kindred. So they're doing
- 4:08Speaker 1: everything they can, they're just not getting there. And honestly,
- 4:11Speaker 1: just from the eye test, without me like really going
- 4:14Speaker 1: into deep detail and deep study, I think as it
- 4:17Speaker 1: relates to off their defensive line, they have too many
- 4:20Speaker 1: similar type pass rushers. They seem to be all power
- 4:23Speaker 1: pass rushers, and it's really hard to collapse the pocket
- 4:26Speaker 1: and it's really hard to get real pressure and sacks
- 4:29Speaker 1: on quarterbacks when you're when you're bull rushing and using
- 4:32Speaker 1: power a lot, because that means that you're engaged with
- 4:34Speaker 1: the offensive linement a lot more than when you're using
- 4:37Speaker 1: athleticism or speed or quickness. And so I think there's
- 4:40Speaker 1: there could be a combination of the way they the
- 4:44Speaker 1: individuals rush to quarterback and then also just a combination
- 4:47Speaker 1: of not being able to get home do what they like.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But they have to figure out something because putting a
- 4:52Speaker 1: lot of pressure on those defensive back to secondary they
- 4:54Speaker 1: come up with big plays and big stops and also
- 4:57Speaker 1: giving up big yards is right the Seahawks defense since
- 5:00Speaker 1: the uh the perfect example of a bend but don't break,
- 5:04Speaker 1: and they will be ben and Russell Wilson will make
- 5:06Speaker 1: sure that they don't break. So moving on the root moving,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I was just gonna have to add to they might
- 5:12Speaker 1: be bend but not break, but they might be at
- 5:14Speaker 1: break but don't break completely because here's some breaking there.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Breaking will just tape it up and with some duct
- 5:20Speaker 1: tape and keep moving. So going on to next week
- 5:24Speaker 1: huge showdown against the undefeated forty nine is they're the
- 5:26Speaker 1: last undefeated team in the NFL, going down to California
- 5:31Speaker 1: on Monday. What do you think the Hawks need to
- 5:33Speaker 1: do to make this happen? Well, first of all, like
- 5:37Speaker 1: I know everyone this week is gonna be thrown out,
- 5:39Speaker 1: all the analytics and why the Seahawks are not gonna
- 5:41Speaker 1: have a chance or why the forty nine is are
- 5:43Speaker 1: such a much better team. But this is one of
- 5:45Speaker 1: those games where it's almost like like a college rivalry
- 5:48Speaker 1: where you kind of throw all that stuff out of
- 5:50Speaker 1: the book and you just throw it. I mean, you
- 5:52Speaker 1: sew it out the window like it's a rivalry game.
- 5:54Speaker 1: It's gonna be an intensely played game. It's gonna be
- 5:58Speaker 1: a hard hitting game. And I say for the sales
- 6:00Speaker 1: offensively to be successful, they have to make it. They
- 6:03Speaker 1: have to make it a phone boot fighting game because
- 6:05Speaker 1: if they if they get into like a finesse game
- 6:07Speaker 1: where that front seven for the forty niners are able
- 6:11Speaker 1: to just ten their ears back and get after the
- 6:13Speaker 1: quarterback and things, it's gonna be a long, long day.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And then defensively, I think they have to make Garoppolo
- 6:19Speaker 1: prove that he is who people think he is. I'm
- 6:22Speaker 1: the jury is still out on him for me, so
- 6:25Speaker 1: they need they need to make that dude really show
- 6:27Speaker 1: who he is. And then obviously they need to shut
- 6:29Speaker 1: down the running game. They have some explosive, speedy running
- 6:32Speaker 1: backs that can take it seventy eighty yards for a touchdown.
- 6:35Speaker 1: So it has to be a phone booth kind of
- 6:37Speaker 1: a game. It has to be a physical type of game,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and the sealffs have to be the bully in that situation.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Be the bully. Hey, we're gonna find out who the
- 6:45Speaker 1: Hearts are on Monday. It's gonna be a great showdown.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Two NMC West teams going at it, the rivalry might
- 6:51Speaker 1: be renewed. Thank you, Big Ray for hopping on as usual, Yes, sir,
- 6:56Speaker 1: go Hawk. All right, man, So moving forward, now we're
- 6:59Speaker 1: gonna up into our main takeaways from the game. The
- 7:02Speaker 1: Seahawks improved to seven and two over the season and
- 7:05Speaker 1: have the third best record in the NFC. NASA chobe
- 7:10Speaker 1: seven and two. How you feel right? Feel great? Are
- 7:12Speaker 1: you kidding me? Again? We say it's every week because
- 7:15Speaker 1: we keep winning games. If you were told me at
- 7:16Speaker 1: the beginning year would be seven and two at this
- 7:18Speaker 1: point and have the third best record in the NFC,
- 7:20Speaker 1: I would take it all day and twice on Sunday.
- 7:23Speaker 1: This team, however you want to say it, they're winning games.
- 7:26Speaker 1: We'll get into that a little bit later, but they're
- 7:27Speaker 1: winning games in all type of ways. Another takeaway, Russell
- 7:30Speaker 1: Wilson is a bad man once again. He showed the
- 7:32Speaker 1: league that he can perform at a high level and
- 7:35Speaker 1: now only perform at a high level. Just his composure, man,
- 7:37Speaker 1: I mean goodness. He never looks stressed out to me, never,
- 7:40Speaker 1: not once. Drein again as he looks stressed out. Another takeaway.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Had two game winning drives to end the game. One
- 7:46Speaker 1: ended in the forty yard missfield goal by Jason Myers.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It's all mental with him. Right now, he's on the
- 7:51Speaker 1: tea box, his driver is struggling and he's thinking about
- 7:54Speaker 1: pulling out an iron or something. Right now. He just
- 7:56Speaker 1: has to get locked in. He you know, he will.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I mean, like we've talked about this a lot in
- 8:00Speaker 1: the postgame show. It's it's tough with kickers, man, because
- 8:03Speaker 1: there's you know, so much of it is mental. Jason
- 8:06Speaker 1: Myers has the leg. There's a reason we brought him back.
- 8:08Speaker 1: He was a pro bowler last year. He can get
- 8:10Speaker 1: a job done. Everyone knows that. Um so he just
- 8:13Speaker 1: got to figure out, let's just shocking up. He had
- 8:15Speaker 1: a bad day, had a bad day. He had a
- 8:16Speaker 1: bad day. The team had his back, and it's great
- 8:19Speaker 1: to see coach Pete Carroll come out in the postgame
- 8:20Speaker 1: press conference and met He'd be like, no, here's our kicker.
- 8:23Speaker 1: There's no doubts he had a bad day. He's our
- 8:25Speaker 1: kicker moving forward. So instill something that confidence back in him,
- 8:28Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, And it's not like you can just
- 8:29Speaker 1: go on like Washington Boulevard and find you a kicker
- 8:32Speaker 1: just you know, if they're not here there. If they're
- 8:34Speaker 1: not on a team right now, it's probably for a
- 8:35Speaker 1: reason for is exactly. Another takeaway. Joey Hunt stepped up
- 8:39Speaker 1: against the Bucks. He had a tough task going against
- 8:41Speaker 1: Videvere and Sue, but definitely held his own. He's a
- 8:44Speaker 1: little undersized, but he's probably one of the smartest guys
- 8:47Speaker 1: on that offensive line. I thought he played well yesterday. Yeah, well,
- 8:51Speaker 1: because you didn't hear it in Dominican Sue's name at all.
- 8:53Speaker 1: You heard his name on a holding penalty, and then
- 8:56Speaker 1: Vita Bay obviously is a problem. He was, you know,
- 8:58Speaker 1: not necessarily always matched up on Joey. He's kind of
- 9:00Speaker 1: all over the line. But Joey, he stepped in there
- 9:02Speaker 1: and it didn't there wasn't it. You didn't skip a beat.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I mean, Russell was still able to function. He had
- 9:07Speaker 1: a great pocket, clean pocket for most of the game.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So big up to Joey Hunt for sure, big shoe.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Another takeaway, Seahawks receiver stepped up in a huge way.
- 9:14Speaker 1: DK had over one hundred locking that over a hundred.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Even Jacob Hollister got into the mix. Another tough day
- 9:20Speaker 1: on the defense, Tampa had four hundred and eighteen yards
- 9:23Speaker 1: of offense and only one turnover. However, the Bucks were
- 9:27Speaker 1: one of seven on third down in the second half,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and I think that's huge. Not a lot of takeaways,
- 9:33Speaker 1: a bunch of yards, but if you can get them
- 9:35Speaker 1: to not be efficient on third down, you're doing something right.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And I think at this point we have to focus
- 9:41Speaker 1: on what they're doing right. You can always point out
- 9:43Speaker 1: the negative. All they're doing this, they're doing that. Hey,
- 9:46Speaker 1: they're seven and two, and when they have to step up,
- 9:48Speaker 1: it seems like for the most part they're not breaking,
- 9:51Speaker 1: they're just bending a little bit. Yeah, it was tough
- 9:52Speaker 1: in the first half. I think that I'm pretty sure
- 9:54Speaker 1: the Bucks were like five or six or five and
- 9:56Speaker 1: seven on third downs, which was tough. Obviously had a
- 9:58Speaker 1: penalty d one of them, you had a nearness option
- 10:00Speaker 1: on one of them. Maybe just weren't really closing the
- 10:02Speaker 1: deal in the first half, and they definitely improved. Obviously,
- 10:04Speaker 1: holding him one of seven is great. They like we said,
- 10:06Speaker 1: they've bended a little more than we would like as
- 10:09Speaker 1: the viewing audience, but they still did what they needed
- 10:11Speaker 1: to do and we got a job done. He got
- 10:13Speaker 1: out of their last takeaway. Mike Evans is a problem man.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I mean shucks. This guy can go up top, he
- 10:20Speaker 1: can go underneath. He has run after the catch. He's
- 10:22Speaker 1: a complete receiver. As a analyst, I enjoy watching him play.
- 10:27Speaker 1: As a Seahawks supporter, he stresses me the heck out
- 10:30Speaker 1: because he feels like he can hit the home run
- 10:33Speaker 1: at any moment. Well, I mean, look at his dude's numbers.
- 10:36Speaker 1: We said this in the last week in the preview
- 10:37Speaker 1: edition that he was a problem and that was true.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Not rocket science, but we had twelve receptions one hundred
- 10:42Speaker 1: and eighty yards in one touchdown. The dude's just really good, man.
- 10:45Speaker 1: He's a possession receiver. He's able to stretch you down
- 10:48Speaker 1: the field. He has great hands. It was a tough
- 10:50Speaker 1: day for any Seahawks tvatouts against him. Man, tough day.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Mike Evans is a baller and if you don't know
- 10:55Speaker 1: his story, man, look him up. He has a great story.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Good guy. So we're gonna talk about performers now. Gotta
- 11:01Speaker 1: mention the man. Russell Wilson twenty nine to forty three,
- 11:05Speaker 1: three hundred and seventy eight yards and five touchdowns, no
- 11:08Speaker 1: picks on the year. He has twenty two touchdowns and
- 11:11Speaker 1: only one interception. He's completing sixty eight percent of his passes.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Now all he needs to do is reach that seventy mark.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I mean, he's doing pretty much everything he needs to do.
- 11:20Speaker 1: This next goal is to have a seventy percent completion rate,
- 11:24Speaker 1: and he was at seventy for most of the year.
- 11:26Speaker 1: He just had that one tough game against Baltimore which
- 11:28Speaker 1: kind of brought him back down a little bit. But
- 11:30Speaker 1: I mean he's right there, dude. And every we mentioned
- 11:32Speaker 1: this every week, every single week there's more stats about
- 11:36Speaker 1: Russell Wilson and NFL. So what's what's this week's stating now?
- 11:39Speaker 1: I mean I could go, I could read a hundred
- 11:41Speaker 1: of him, but the first one. So with his five
- 11:43Speaker 1: touchdown passes in the game versus the Bucks, Russell Wilson
- 11:46Speaker 1: has twenty two, like you said, touchdowns on the year,
- 11:48Speaker 1: only one interception on the season. He's the only player
- 11:51Speaker 1: in the Super Bowl era with twenty two passing touchdowns
- 11:53Speaker 1: and one fewer interceptions in his team's first nine games
- 11:56Speaker 1: of the year. Ridiculous. And on top of that, he's
- 11:59Speaker 1: now one of the seven players in NFL history to
- 12:02Speaker 1: have three games of five touchdown passes, zero interceptions. Other
- 12:06Speaker 1: people on the list or Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning,
- 12:08Speaker 1: Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, DeShawn Watson. I mean, you got
- 12:11Speaker 1: guys that are pretty much all gonna be in the
- 12:13Speaker 1: Hall of Fame. Pretty much all these guys are going
- 12:15Speaker 1: to all of Fame. Deshaun Watson still has a little
- 12:17Speaker 1: bit to proved, but he's headed in the right direction.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Another top of former, Tyler Lockett, had thirteen receptions, one
- 12:23Speaker 1: hundred and fifty two yards and two touchdowns through just
- 12:26Speaker 1: nine games. Tyler Locke has set a career high in
- 12:28Speaker 1: receptions for a single season. That's wild. I didn't you know.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I figured last year he had about he had sixty catches,
- 12:35Speaker 1: but he's already at fifty nine receptions for the year.
- 12:38Speaker 1: He is clearly the goal to guy, he's a number one.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Please stop hating on this man. He's getting it done well.
- 12:44Speaker 1: It's crazy too, because he was bawling last year. Yeah. Right,
- 12:47Speaker 1: So I would assume when I saw that in the
- 12:49Speaker 1: game notes, I said, hold on a second, this is
- 12:51Speaker 1: game nine. I assumed that that number was around seventy
- 12:55Speaker 1: year eighty. But as much as we run the ball.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I guess it's not a surprise, and I'll do you
- 12:58Speaker 1: one more. Tyler. It's now on pace to have one
- 13:01Speaker 1: of the best seasons in Seahawk receiver history that includes
- 13:05Speaker 1: I don't know, Hall of Fame receiver Steve Largent. Yep,
- 13:08Speaker 1: he's on pace to have the most receiving yards in
- 13:11Speaker 1: the season, the most receptions in the season. So I mean,
- 13:14Speaker 1: get your popcorn ready, man. He's passing up with guys
- 13:16Speaker 1: like Largent, Bobby Ingram, who was my mentor when I
- 13:18Speaker 1: was on the team, and Doug Baldwin. So, Tyler Lockett,
- 13:23Speaker 1: keep eating your wheaties, keep doing whatever you're doing, spinning
- 13:25Speaker 1: that poetry because you're balling Man. Now the top performer
- 13:28Speaker 1: d K six receptions, one hundred and twenty three yards,
- 13:31Speaker 1: one touchdowns. Now, this guy, his progression has been nice
- 13:37Speaker 1: to see. Week one, he was a goal ball guy.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Week two or three, I saw him running a slam.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Week Week three or four, he's running across the field.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Last week I saw him running out against press coverage
- 13:48Speaker 1: and was so technical. Man, he's showing that he's working
- 13:51Speaker 1: hard and he's getting better at his craft. He's not
- 13:54Speaker 1: satisfied with just being a deep, deep filled guy. No,
- 13:57Speaker 1: Like the last couple of weeks, you've seen him mixing
- 13:58Speaker 1: some double moves. You see him do things in the
- 14:00Speaker 1: receiving game where it's like, that's that's veteran stuff. Yea.
- 14:03Speaker 1: When people, all the people, all the haters want to
- 14:05Speaker 1: talk about him as a one trick pony, a straight
- 14:07Speaker 1: line guy coming out of college, week after week after week,
- 14:11Speaker 1: he matures, he impresses, and he shows that, hey, he
- 14:13Speaker 1: can do it all and he's without question, the best
- 14:16Speaker 1: rookie receiver in the NFL. Yes, sir, And they gave
- 14:18Speaker 1: him a jet sweep as well. So when you start
- 14:21Speaker 1: giving your guys jet sweeps, that means the coach of
- 14:23Speaker 1: staffs trust you and they like you. Another top performer,
- 14:26Speaker 1: Chris Carson, has sixteen carries one hundred and five yards,
- 14:30Speaker 1: his fourth hundred yard game this season, and had a
- 14:33Speaker 1: nice run in the second half, a big I think
- 14:35Speaker 1: it was a fifty nine yard game though he did fumble,
- 14:39Speaker 1: but let's not even talk about that. Let's focus on
- 14:41Speaker 1: the positive. Well, Chris Carson got his fourth the hundred
- 14:44Speaker 1: yards well, you watch the play. If you watch that
- 14:45Speaker 1: play from the end zone side, he runs he runs
- 14:48Speaker 1: through about four or five tackles just to start, so,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I mean the dude, he'll shake you up. Earlier in
- 14:53Speaker 1: the game, he had a really nice spin move to
- 14:54Speaker 1: get another, you know, ten plus yard game. He can
- 14:56Speaker 1: do it all. Chris Carson's a bad man. Seems like
- 14:58Speaker 1: every every week he's adding something to his game. There's
- 15:01Speaker 1: a spin move. I remember early in the season he
- 15:04Speaker 1: put his foot in the ground and shook a safety.
- 15:05Speaker 1: He's running over guys. I mean, goodness, grated, Chris Carson.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Keep doing your thing, man. So the receiver round up.
- 15:10Speaker 1: We talked a little bit about him already. Tyler Lockett
- 15:13Speaker 1: thirteen catches, one hundred and fifty two yards, two touchdowns,
- 15:15Speaker 1: DK six for one twenty three in a tub. Jacob
- 15:18Speaker 1: Hollister love seeing this dude. Ball practice squad guy worked
- 15:22Speaker 1: his way up. Things about a practice squad You just
- 15:25Speaker 1: have to be ready when your number is called because
- 15:27Speaker 1: you might only get a shot for this week and
- 15:29Speaker 1: then someone's health and you're back on the practice squad.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You gotta do things like score two touchdowns and have
- 15:34Speaker 1: the game winner, like Jacob Hollister, to make sure that
- 15:36Speaker 1: if they're gonna bump you down, they're gonna think long
- 15:39Speaker 1: and hard about putting you back on that practice. Oh yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 1: and and for Russell, you said this in the post game,
- 15:42Speaker 1: for Russell will have the confidence to go to Jake
- 15:44Speaker 1: with the game on the line right there and not
- 15:46Speaker 1: bat and night. I mean, good for you, Hollister, humble
- 15:49Speaker 1: guy from Bend, Oregon getting things done up here. Baby.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Oh it's in the Northwest, okay. Chris Carson two catches
- 15:54Speaker 1: twenty eight yards. Luke hat two for twenty What I
- 15:56Speaker 1: appreciate about Luke His rib is jacked up. I just
- 15:59Speaker 1: got done talking Pete. He says he probably had a
- 16:01Speaker 1: rough night sleeping soul um. But that doesn't surprise about Luke.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Luke seems like a tough guy. I just rubbed some
- 16:07Speaker 1: dirt on it and then let's get back in there.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Like having Luke back here. David Moore had two catches
- 16:12Speaker 1: for eighteen yards as well. Now, David Moore is not
- 16:15Speaker 1: doing a lot, but every game he has a cash there.
- 16:18Speaker 1: He has a couple catches there. He still has value
- 16:21Speaker 1: to this football team. And I like seeing my guy
- 16:23Speaker 1: be able to make some plays. So now we're gonna
- 16:25Speaker 1: go to the coaches corner for this addition to coaches Corner,
- 16:28Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about DK Mancalf's deep fifty three yard touchdown.
- 16:32Speaker 1: The play fact by Russell who stops, looks, throws backside,
- 16:36Speaker 1: man Calf catches and Galla sid thing fun then touchdowns Shawks,
- 16:45Speaker 1: and if Tampa Bay can do it, the Shahawks can
- 16:49Speaker 1: do it one better. From fifty three Russell with a
- 16:52Speaker 1: beautiful rainbow shot from man Calf who ran away from
- 16:57Speaker 1: the defense Jamal team was chasing. He was not gonna
- 17:01Speaker 1: catch the rookie, and the Seahawks back out on top
- 17:05Speaker 1: thirty three twenty seven. The Seahawks are the masters of
- 17:09Speaker 1: the deep cross. Every receiver on this team has to
- 17:12Speaker 1: be able to run a deep cross, and if you
- 17:14Speaker 1: can understand spacing and leverage while doing it, you're gonna
- 17:17Speaker 1: get the football and have chances to make big plays.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Right here, excuse me. DK was lined up tightened the
- 17:22Speaker 1: foremassion he got a match up on number thirty five
- 17:25Speaker 1: the safety, and all he did was run across his face.
- 17:27Speaker 1: That's all it is. On the other side, you got
- 17:29Speaker 1: Tyler Locker running a deep cross, so now you're forcing
- 17:31Speaker 1: those safeties to communicate. You gotta pass him off, pick
- 17:33Speaker 1: him up, pass him off, and pick him off. Number
- 17:35Speaker 1: thirty five had a tough day and that shows right
- 17:38Speaker 1: there with DK. When DK caught that football, I got
- 17:41Speaker 1: flashes of t O. I'm not saying he's gonna be
- 17:43Speaker 1: as good as t O, but the way he runs
- 17:45Speaker 1: in that long stride, in that gallop, it's like he's
- 17:48Speaker 1: just eating up the turf. Well. The thing about it, too,
- 17:50Speaker 1: is there are certain guys. When you watch him out
- 17:52Speaker 1: there and they're running full speed, it looks like they
- 17:55Speaker 1: are giving everything they got and they are the arms
- 17:58Speaker 1: and movement. It just looks it looks right. Yeah, guys
- 18:01Speaker 1: like DK. You watch him, it just looks effortless. He's
- 18:04Speaker 1: just gliding and in separating. That's the thing I mean
- 18:07Speaker 1: when you watch him. Yeah, it smooth is the right word.
- 18:09Speaker 1: He's a thoroughbread man. All right. The best thing we
- 18:12Speaker 1: took from this game this team can win games in
- 18:14Speaker 1: any style and they can grind them out. They can
- 18:17Speaker 1: go on the shootout, they can dominate the run game,
- 18:19Speaker 1: they can have throw the ball forty times. They can
- 18:21Speaker 1: win close ones. All right. I'm still waiting to see
- 18:23Speaker 1: him blow somebody out, but that's just not what the
- 18:25Speaker 1: Hawks do, but we'll take it. Only three NFC teams
- 18:28Speaker 1: have a better record than the Hawks, the Niners, the Packers,
- 18:31Speaker 1: in the Saints. We've already played the Saints, sick the
- 18:33Speaker 1: eld there got the Niners on Monday. Cannot wait for
- 18:37Speaker 1: This has to be the biggest game of the year
- 18:39Speaker 1: in the NFL on Monday, no question about it. I
- 18:41Speaker 1: think Dorry brought up in the postgame show yesterday that
- 18:44Speaker 1: and the storied history of Monday Night Football. This is
- 18:47Speaker 1: the third highest winning percentage between two teams and the history,
- 18:50Speaker 1: so it's good. It's I mean, there's been some duds
- 18:53Speaker 1: this year, but this one is not going to disappoint.
- 18:55Speaker 1: That's for damn sure. This one will not Adds seven
- 18:58Speaker 1: and two going down, down and Callie, let's go Niners.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Let's see what you got. It's been real, folks. I
- 19:04Speaker 1: am Michael Bump as your horse along with my producer
- 19:06Speaker 1: Nasa Choby. We will see you next time.
