- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's get the same music going.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Get Elena on the phone. There she is Helena. Hello, bye,
- 0:08Speaker 2: good morning, good morning. Let's see I just know I
- 0:10Speaker 2: just now opened up the notes. Oh mental health. Well
- 0:15Speaker 2: well well that's it.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Oh, I hope you're going to take notes here. Well
- 0:20Speaker 1: I think I think Helene is going to be taking notes.
- 0:23Speaker 1: That's what I think.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I mean. I did write this mostly for myself.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yeah, let's okay, talk about take action for Mental health
- 0:32Speaker 1: Awareness Month?
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yes, exactly. So May's mental health awareness, as Gina just said,
- 0:39Speaker 3: and it's a really great time to check in with ourselves,
- 0:42Speaker 3: with our friends, with our loved ones. And I have
- 0:46Speaker 3: just a few tips that can help us to improve
- 0:49Speaker 3: our mental.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Health, okay, because it is, after all, just as important
- 0:54Speaker 1: as your physical health. It's healthcare. It's all healthcare.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Absolutely, yes, absolutely, they they all tie in together. And
- 1:02Speaker 3: my first recommendation is to spend some time in nature.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Nature has been shown to uplift mood, reduce stress, and
- 1:11Speaker 3: even help us to increase levels of concentration. If you're
- 1:16Speaker 3: able to take a short walk during your lunch break,
- 1:19Speaker 3: and if you aren't able to go outside consistently, they've
- 1:22Speaker 3: seen that even a houseplant near you can help give
- 1:27Speaker 3: you some of those same.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Benefits on the front porch for five minutes yesterday. That'll
- 1:32Speaker 1: do it.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Hey, that's great. Yeah, okay, are you yelling at the
- 1:36Speaker 3: neighbors all.
- 1:37Speaker 1: The cars that we're going by? Cars?
- 1:42Speaker 3: Hey? You kids?
- 1:45Speaker 1: But house plants, uh? I insist they be real. I
- 1:50Speaker 1: don't think you get the same benefit from a plastic plant.
- 1:56Speaker 3: You have lots of benefits. I can. I can send
- 1:59Speaker 3: you that study. I'll have to pull it up.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Okay, okay, what's number two?
- 2:05Speaker 3: My next recommendation is to connect with loved.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Ones, make connections of all those ties that I've severed.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yeah, not necessarily. I mean connecting with the people that
- 2:20Speaker 3: we truly care about and care about us. Of course,
- 2:23Speaker 3: has been shown to reduce stress. It also helps us
- 2:26Speaker 3: to live longer if we have a good social network.
- 2:30Speaker 3: So building those connections and putting an effort to keep
- 2:34Speaker 3: them strong throughout your life will actually help you to
- 2:37Speaker 3: live a lot longer and your mental health will be better.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Number three, Number three, and this one's a big one.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Take care of your body. You know, our mind and
- 2:49Speaker 3: body are not separate things. Supporting the one definitely supports
- 2:54Speaker 3: the others. So, not to sound like a broken record,
- 2:57Speaker 3: but eating healthy foods, drinking, getting your body. All right,
- 3:05Speaker 3: all of these things are going to help your mind
- 3:07Speaker 3: as well as your body.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You are such an egg.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I know I'm non stop with this.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I should want you to be healthy.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I want you to live a long, healthy life, exactly.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Nurses are funny that way.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Isn't it too much care?
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah? Next, we've got a creativity that's interesting.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah, So doing things like arts and crafts, writing, even
- 3:35Speaker 3: just dancing. Anyway that we can express ourselves in somewhat
- 3:40Speaker 3: creative ways. It actually helps to build emotional resilience, which
- 3:44Speaker 3: means that we'll actually manage stress and difficulties better when
- 3:49Speaker 3: they do a rise in our life.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Adult coloring books are those still a thing?
- 3:55Speaker 3: I think they are and they're fun. I like them?
- 3:58Speaker 1: Okay, all right? Next? Is this this is the final?
- 4:04Speaker 3: Yes, this is the final. Next is to relax. I
- 4:09Speaker 3: very strongly believe that rest is not something that has
- 4:12Speaker 3: to be earned. It is something that we need physically
- 4:17Speaker 3: emotionally in order to continue being a human on this planet.
- 4:23Speaker 3: So give yourself permission to wind down, Maybe take a
- 4:27Speaker 3: warm bath, listen to your favorite music. Do some breath exercises,
- 4:31Speaker 3: whatever it is that helps you to relax, even just
- 4:35Speaker 3: for a moment.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I would assume that you would encourage me to abandon
- 4:39Speaker 2: my saying I'll sleep when I'm dead.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Yeah, No, absolutely, I would.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Encourage Yeah, I'll take a break when i am when
- 4:50Speaker 2: I'm dead.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I will abandon. Can be too late, okay, Uh? These
- 4:55Speaker 1: are these are all I mean, they're they're they're there
- 4:58Speaker 1: are things that we should consider every day, each one
- 5:01Speaker 1: of them we should consider every day. If we want
- 5:04Speaker 1: to find out more about this stuff? What do we do? Atlana?
- 5:07Speaker 3: You can learn more about this as well as Nightingale's
- 5:09Speaker 3: amazing programs by visiting Nightingale dot du.
- 5:13Speaker 1: All right, thank you always a pleasure
- 5:16Speaker 3: Thank you, Take care Bye.
