- 0:00Speaker 1: Insight from the inside. This is 710WOR' s Mark Simone Show. Hey,
- 0:09Speaker 1: it's Monday. It's going to be a beautiful day today,
- 0:12Speaker 1: 70 and sunny. It's going to be really nice weather
- 0:14Speaker 1: all week. Lots to get to this morning. This just breaking.
- 0:19Speaker 1: As rumored, there is going to be an anthropic IPO. Anthropic,
- 0:26Speaker 1: let's just file the papers for an IPO. They want
- 0:29Speaker 1: to raise, well, If they get what they want, they'll
- 0:32Speaker 1: be worth $ 2 trillion. It'll be a $ 2 trillion company.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Ticker symbol will be ANT, A-N-T, A-N-T. They just filed
- 0:41Speaker 1: the papers moments ago, so there's no word on what
- 0:46Speaker 1: the price will be. But there will be an anthropic
- 0:49Speaker 1: IPO that's one of the big AI companies. Of course,
- 0:52Speaker 1: it's Claude and a lot of other stuff that they do.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Speaking of tech, the Apple folding phone called the Duo
- 1:02Speaker 1: was released on Friday. There were lines all over the place.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Lines up and down the block. The CEO of Apple,
- 1:11Speaker 1: what's his name? The new CEO, Tunis, whatever his name is,
- 1:15Speaker 1: showed up there for the press. He was greeting people
- 1:17Speaker 1: as he came in. Hey, by the way, he was
- 1:20Speaker 1: quite blunt. I mean, when asked stuff, he would say
- 1:24Speaker 1: something about, you know, the other... The other folding phones,
- 1:28Speaker 1: they were just crappy. He was pretty blunt with his language.
- 1:32Speaker 1: A lot of people liked that because it was Steve Jobs-like.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I mean, Steve Jobs told it like it was. Tim Cook,
- 1:40Speaker 1: a very low-key guy who stayed under the radar, very quiet, dignified.
- 1:44Speaker 1: But we like the Steve Jobs type of CEO, so
- 1:47Speaker 1: I think we got a new one. But the Duo,
- 1:50Speaker 1: it's a folding iPhone. It unfolds into a big screen.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Sold out immediately. Lines everywhere. You never saw lines like
- 1:59Speaker 1: this in the main Apple store at 59th Street. Who knows?
- 2:03Speaker 1: Apple could easily arrange for those lines. But who knows?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Some complaints about the phone. Android has had a folding
- 2:13Speaker 1: phone for a couple of years now. The problem is
- 2:15Speaker 1: when you unfold it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Can see the seam down the middle. So Apple had
- 2:21Speaker 1: this thing about not doing a folding phone. I think
- 2:23Speaker 1: it absolutely eliminate the seam, which they did. But some
- 2:28Speaker 1: people are saying when you open it, you hear a
- 2:30Speaker 1: little crunching, clicking in there. Some people have been complaining
- 2:35Speaker 1: that the layout of the apps on it, the way
- 2:38Speaker 1: you look at it, it's not the same. You know,
- 2:40Speaker 1: when you unfold it, it's basically the size of a
- 2:42Speaker 1: mini iPad, right? So just get a mini iPad. It's
- 2:47Speaker 1: the same exact thing. You don't have to worry about
- 2:49Speaker 1: the folding, unfolding. It's not that big. You can carry
- 2:52Speaker 1: it around. Hey, the truth is the current iPhone, this one,
- 2:57Speaker 1: the 18, it's big enough. I have a mini iPad.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I've had it for a year. I don't think I've
- 3:04Speaker 1: ever looked at it because the phone is fine. You
- 3:06Speaker 1: can use the phone. So don't worry about the Duo.
- 3:09Speaker 1: People are yelling and screaming, it's $ 2, 000. Well, check the record.
- 3:14Speaker 1: All those Android foldable phones were at least $ 2, 000. That's
- 3:18Speaker 1: the normal price, so don't complain about it. The Israeli
- 3:22Speaker 1: elections are tomorrow. Everybody, I guess, would want Netanyahu to win,
- 3:27Speaker 1: but the president and others saying quietly, if he doesn't win,
- 3:32Speaker 1: don't worry, it'll be fine. They'll get somebody they can
- 3:36Speaker 1: work with. They still want to go ahead right after
- 3:38Speaker 1: the election and finish off Iran with Israel. Israel will
- 3:42Speaker 1: be a big part of that. Israel's got the best
- 3:45Speaker 1: intelligence on Iran, best target information. And if the ground
- 3:50Speaker 1: troops are needed, it'll be Israeli troops. So the elections
- 3:54Speaker 1: are tomorrow. We'll know probably 24 hours from now what's
- 3:58Speaker 1: going to happen there. We'll be able to see. Hey,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I mentioned before that President Trump this morning put out
- 4:05Speaker 1: the longest truth social he's ever put out. 1,300 words.
- 4:10Speaker 1: denouncing Bill Maher, calling Bill Maher every name you ever heard,
- 4:14Speaker 1: trashing him. Now, why would he have such a nice
- 4:17Speaker 1: dinner and then do that? A lot of people think
- 4:23Speaker 1: that Bill Maher, when he came back from the dinner,
- 4:25Speaker 1: a Friday night show, and he said some great things
- 4:28Speaker 1: about Trump. He said some bad things, but he said
- 4:30Speaker 1: a lot of great things. And the audience at a
- 4:33Speaker 1: couple of points booed Bill Maher. And a lot of
- 4:37Speaker 1: people think Bill Maher has been getting so much flack
- 4:41Speaker 1: from the left, from the Democrats, from his audience, so
- 4:45Speaker 1: much flack. Some people think he asked President Trump to
- 4:50Speaker 1: do that truth social. He was getting too much flack
- 4:52Speaker 1: from Democrats, so he asked President Trump to denounce him
- 4:56Speaker 1: like crazy. Because even for Trump, it went overboard. I mean,
- 5:00Speaker 1: there was nothing at that dinner that night. There were
- 5:02Speaker 1: a couple of people who were there, watched the whole thing.
- 5:05Speaker 1: They said it was very Nice. There was nothing bad.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Why would he put out this over-the-top attack? They think
- 5:13Speaker 1: Bill Maher asked him. Please attack me because I'm getting
- 5:17Speaker 1: too much flack for hanging out with you. So that
- 5:21Speaker 1: could have been it. Oh, you know who was out
- 5:23Speaker 1: on the campaign trail? Kamala Harris taking a break from
- 5:27Speaker 1: happy hour to go out there and babble about nothing.
- 5:32Speaker 2: We've gone through the last year and a half.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Where many of us, whether we admit it or not,
- 5:38Speaker 1: have been saying things to the television that we would
- 5:41Speaker 1: not say where we pray. Well, when you're very drunk,
- 5:46Speaker 1: you do talk to the television a lot. Drunks are
- 5:49Speaker 1: always yelling at the television. The people get to speak.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And the people show their power. All right, now, if
- 5:59Speaker 1: you had no idea who this was, if you had
- 6:01Speaker 1: no idea, And I just played you this audio. I said,
- 6:04Speaker 1: who do you think this person is? The people get
- 6:06Speaker 1: to speak. And the people show their power. And they
- 6:11Speaker 1: make clear we're never going to let anyone take our
- 6:14Speaker 1: power from us. If you didn't know, and I played that,
- 6:17Speaker 1: you'd say, well, that's obviously a teenager. That's obviously a
- 6:20Speaker 1: not-too-bright teenager. It's obviously a teenager's little stone. If I
- 6:24Speaker 1: told you that was a former vice president of the
- 6:26Speaker 1: United States, you'd never believe it. Just a goofy, goofy person. Hey,
- 6:31Speaker 1: another controversy in this election is Alaska. The Republican candidates,
- 6:36Speaker 1: Dan Sullivan. So Democrats who love these dirty tricks found
- 6:42Speaker 1: a guy named Dan Sullivan, another Dan Sullivan, and got
- 6:46Speaker 1: him on the ballot. So there's two Dan Sullivans. And
- 6:52Speaker 1: the idea is that the real Dan Sullivan might get
- 6:55Speaker 1: more votes than the Democrat and win. So by having
- 6:58Speaker 1: two Dan Sullivans, it splits up the vote. People will
- 7:01Speaker 1: get confused. And that way the real one won't win.
- 7:04Speaker 1: It's a dirty trick. Believe it or not, it's legal.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Republicans could do that, although it's tough for Republicans to
- 7:11Speaker 1: do it because in Michigan, where the hell are you
- 7:13Speaker 1: going to find another guy named Abdul Mohammed El-Sayed? Go
- 7:17Speaker 1: try to find somebody else named that. It's not easy.
- 7:20Speaker 1: So this Dan Sullivan thing, it's a very dirty trick
- 7:23Speaker 1: and it's confusing the voters. So the Justice Department said
- 7:28Speaker 1: they may put a hold on certifying the election until
- 7:33Speaker 1: this is sorted out, the dirty trick. Now, elections are
- 7:37Speaker 1: certified within the state. I don't know how the Justice
- 7:39Speaker 1: Department is going to, it's the state that can certify.
- 7:43Speaker 1: But President Trump talking about that.
- 7:45Speaker 2: We have a man named Dan Sullivan. So the Democrats,
- 7:49Speaker 2: maybe here they're not so dumb. They put another man
- 7:52Speaker 2: also with the name of Dan Sullivan. So we have
- 7:54Speaker 2: two Dan Sullivans.
- 7:55Speaker 1: How about that? Yeah, it's a really, really dirty trick,
- 7:58Speaker 1: but Justice Department threatening to hold it up if it
- 8:04Speaker 1: looks like the public got confused. Ilhan Omar.
- 8:07Speaker 2: So Ilhan Nur Sayyed Elmi, her real name is openly
- 8:13Speaker 2: admitted to fraud, and she will not be legally allowed
- 8:17Speaker 2: to be a member of that august body that sits
- 8:19Speaker 2: in Washington so beautifully.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it turns out her real name is Abner Alsad, whatever.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Who knows? Maybe her real name will turn out to
- 8:30Speaker 1: also be Dan Sullivan. You never know. But it looks
- 8:33Speaker 1: like she's got a real problem. She has lawyered up
- 8:35Speaker 1: with some very high-powered Washington, D.C. lawyers, lawyers who worked
- 8:39Speaker 1: for the Clintons, lawyers who worked for the Obamas, that
- 8:41Speaker 1: sort of stuff. Going to cost her at least a million,
- 8:44Speaker 1: maybe a couple of million, trying to raise money like
- 8:47Speaker 1: crazy for that. We'll see if she's successful with that. Now, again,
- 8:53Speaker 1: it's early voting time. You can vote early. Do it
- 8:57Speaker 1: this week. Don't wait for Election Day. First of all,
- 8:59Speaker 1: you do it early. You walk right in. There's no lines.
- 9:02Speaker 1: It's much easier. And who knows? We could get busy
- 9:05Speaker 1: on Election Day. Do it early. It's one thing about Democrats.
- 9:08Speaker 1: They do the early voting. People are turning out in
- 9:12Speaker 1: huge numbers for early voting. I think it's up to
- 9:14Speaker 1: 24 million now have early voting. But it tends to
- 9:17Speaker 1: be more Democrats. For some reason, Republicans wait till Election Day.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Early vote. Go do it this week. You can do
- 9:24Speaker 1: it any day this week. Early vote. It's easier. Lines
- 9:28Speaker 1: are low. You won't even see a line. You'll walk
- 9:31Speaker 1: right in, be able to vote. Hey, our colleague Sean
- 9:36Speaker 1: Hannity married Ainsley Earhart over the weekend. Small wedding, very
- 9:43Speaker 1: small wedding at the Church of Bethesda by the sea.
- 9:46Speaker 1: That's a beautiful old little church in Bethesda. Palm Beach.
- 9:50Speaker 1: That's where he actually proposed to her, in that church.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It's the church he goes to. President Trump goes there
- 9:55Speaker 1: when he's in Palm Beach. And they had a little
- 9:59Speaker 1: party the night before, Mar-a-Lago, with his family and all that.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Small wedding, small group. And President Trump showed up. He
- 10:07Speaker 1: was at Mar-a-Lago, came to the Friday night party. The
- 10:11Speaker 1: wedding was Saturday, beautiful ceremony. And then Saturday night, they
- 10:16Speaker 1: had a little gathering afterwards for the weddings party at
- 10:21Speaker 1: the Everglades Club, which is the old, old, old, very waspy,
- 10:25Speaker 1: very posh club. Now, when you go into Mar-a-Lago, people
- 10:30Speaker 1: will say to you, how are you? You're never going
- 10:34Speaker 1: to hear that in the Everglades Club. You will hear
- 10:37Speaker 1: nothing like that in the Everglades Club. If they heard
- 10:39Speaker 1: that in the Everglades Club, they would call the police immediately.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's a nice club. It's a little club. Very waspy,
- 10:48Speaker 1: very old, old, old private club. And it's beautiful. Now,
- 10:53Speaker 1: the difference is if you want something to eat, old
- 10:57Speaker 1: waspy country clubs, old waspy Everglades clubs, everything is blank.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You're not going to have anything good to eat. You
- 11:03Speaker 1: want to have some good food, you better go to Mar-a-Lago.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You're going to eat much better there. But Sean, actually,
- 11:09Speaker 1: he won't be here today. I'll be filling in for
- 11:11Speaker 1: him later today because he's on his honeymoon. And then
- 11:16Speaker 1: he'll be back to tell you all about it. Speaking
- 11:18Speaker 1: of Florida, they're doing better and better when it comes
- 11:22Speaker 1: to billionaires. This is like a new thing. Who has
- 11:25Speaker 1: the most billionaires? Florida is picking up billionaires at a
- 11:29Speaker 1: fast pace and is now only 15 billionaires away from
- 11:34Speaker 1: tying New York state. But guess who has the most billionaires?
- 11:38Speaker 1: Guess which state? It's not New York, the financial capital
- 11:41Speaker 1: of the world. It's actually California. California has the most billionaires,
- 11:46Speaker 1: 255 of them. Now, the reason for that, California is
- 11:51Speaker 1: where the tech industry is. So you got Silicon Valley,
- 11:55Speaker 1: which just has tons of billionaires. So that's the reason.
- 11:58Speaker 1: So California has 255 billionaires. New York has 153. It's
- 12:00Speaker 1: pretty impressive. California beats us by 100 billionaires. New York
- 12:04Speaker 1: has 153 billionaires. Florida has 138. So that's not bad.
- 12:18Speaker 1: They're slowly but surely catching up. Texas, well, now Texas
- 12:25Speaker 1: has 88 billionaires. Texas has 88 billionaires. That's still a
- 12:29Speaker 1: lot for a state. But Texas has the wealthiest guy
- 12:33Speaker 1: in history. Texas has Elon Musk. That's where he lives.
- 12:37Speaker 1: He's at 925 billion. He will be The first trillionaire
- 12:44Speaker 1: in the history of the world. He'll be the first
- 12:46Speaker 1: trillionaire pretty soon. Do you know who the richest guy
- 12:51Speaker 1: in New York is? We've got a lot of billionaires.
- 12:53Speaker 1: We've got 153 billionaires. Who's the richest guy in New York? No? No,
- 13:00Speaker 1: it's Michael Bloomberg. Believe it or not, Michael Bloomberg at
- 13:04Speaker 1: $ 95 billion. The richest guy in New York. Who's the
- 13:09Speaker 1: richest guy in Florida? Out of all those billionaires, you've
- 13:11Speaker 1: got a lot of billionaires there. No? It should be easy.
- 13:17Speaker 1: It's Jeff Bezos. He's officially a Florida resident. Bezos is
- 13:22Speaker 1: worth $ 380 billion. Richest guy in Florida. Not bad. Not bad. Connecticut,
- 13:29Speaker 1: you've got a few billionaires. Who's the richest guy in Connecticut?
- 13:33Speaker 1: That's right. Steve Cohen, richest guy in Connecticut. Billionaire. So...
- 13:41Speaker 1: Let's see, what else? President Trump, over the weekend, a
- 13:45Speaker 1: lot of rallies. He's going to do that all this week.
- 13:47Speaker 1: He's going to be traveling nonstop. And it's a brutal schedule,
- 13:52Speaker 1: but he's going to do it. He was going after
- 13:55Speaker 1: the Wall Street Journal. You know, a lot of people
- 13:57Speaker 1: don't understand what the hell happened to the Wall Street Journal.
- 14:00Speaker 1: It used to be a reliable, prestigious newspaper. Now nobody
- 14:04Speaker 1: knows what the hell it is. Scott Besson saying he
- 14:07Speaker 1: can't read it anymore. They ought to call it the
- 14:09Speaker 1: Main Street Journal. Uh, it's very, uh, uh, it can
- 14:14Speaker 1: be very anti-Trump. That's okay. If you want to be that,
- 14:17Speaker 1: but it's become very unreliable, totally unreliable with the Starlink
- 14:22Speaker 1: Musk stuff and, uh, Trump going after them now, because
- 14:27Speaker 1: apparently they totally ignored the Democrats ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Once the Epstein files were released, it was pretty obvious
- 14:36Speaker 1: that there were more Democrats tangled up with this guy
- 14:39Speaker 1: than any other group. Lots of Democrats. Very few Republicans.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And Trump, if you read the Epstein files, had nothing
- 14:46Speaker 1: to do with Epstein. In fact, throughout the files, you
- 14:49Speaker 1: see that Epstein is the biggest Trump hater on earth.
- 14:52Speaker 1: You see him plotting with that sleazeball Michael Wolff on
- 14:55Speaker 1: how to bring Trump down. But go through the Epstein files.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You'll see he was very close to a lot of Democrats. But,
- 15:05Speaker 1: of course, Wall Street Journal ignoring that. Lots to get to.
- 15:09Speaker 1: We'll take some calls next. 800. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Give me a call. 800-321-0710.
