Transcript
- 0:00Just do me a favour and look at the the forwards that are left
- 0:02available. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 0:05It's a really good point. I'm looking at this.
- 0:07What it's Son who who knows what's going to happen there?
- 0:10And Jon Pedro, who knows Jimenez, Matetta Solanke?
- 0:16But there's. No one in there, yeah.
- 0:17You can feel the drop off, yeah. You can feel it.
- 0:21Oh yeah. Hello and welcome to episode 95
- 0:25of Dropped Off Sides. I'm with Enzo and Joe.
- 0:28My name is Keith. No Tico today, but we are joined
- 0:31with Joe. We're joined with Joe from Draft
- 0:35Society. He's here, I guess filled in for
- 0:39Tico a little bit where he's also gonna give us some insights
- 0:41and we're gonna, they had a mock draft that they did on their
- 0:45channel. And so we're gonna kind of go
- 0:47through that as well. But First off, Joe, just kind of
- 0:49talking to you a little bit, biggest question, most important
- 0:52question, who do you support? I'm a Liverpool guy.
- 0:54I'm a Liverpool guy, OK? So.
- 0:56So you're smiling this year? Yeah.
- 0:59None of us, none of us have to fight, at least not at the
- 1:01moment. Yeah.
- 1:03Yeah. So it was a good year.
- 1:05Actually, it was a really good year.
- 1:06Not just because, you know, obviously the title, but I
- 1:09fulfilled the lifelong dream of getting to Anfield this year,
- 1:12which was absolutely incredible. So yeah, my wife and I went
- 1:15there in February. We saw them narrowly beat
- 1:18Wolves. It was, it was a nail biter
- 1:21actually. But still it was amazing,
- 1:23incredible time, amazing year to to get my first one under my
- 1:26belt. So that was that was pretty
- 1:27incredible. I'm still chasing that.
- 1:30I still haven't been to Silver Bridge.
- 1:32I've been over there. So very jealous.
- 1:34That's very, very awesome. Yeah, it was cool.
- 1:37Yeah, I've been to White Hot Lane, but I haven't been to
- 1:39Tottenham Stadium yet, so you know, they got the longest bar
- 1:42in the world, so I wouldn't mind heading over there for a couple
- 1:46drinks. And and when did you kind of get
- 1:48into soccer, start kind of falling in love with it?
- 1:51I mean, I've played soccer my whole life, but in terms of the
- 1:54Premier League, it's been maybe just under 2 decades just about.
- 2:01I mean, I, I've, I fell in love with Liverpool because so I'm,
- 2:06I'm from Wisconsin originally and so I'm a Green Bay Packers
- 2:10guy. And so Liverpool had a similar
- 2:14like the city itself had a similar like, you know, very
- 2:17working. Class.
- 2:18Blue collar vibe to to Green Bay and I just yeah, I kind of fell
- 2:22for that. And then, of course, Stevie G
- 2:24was kind of my Ave. into really falling in love with a player.
- 2:28And yeah, I mean the rest is kind of history.
- 2:30So I've just been supporting them ever since.
- 2:31I don't have a like a an amazing reason other than that it
- 2:34reminds me of another team that I deeply adore and love.
- 2:38I think that's, yeah, that's a great reason.
- 2:40I think with most American fans, it's kind of, I always joke that
- 2:43you can kind of tell when someone became a fan based on
- 2:46when they, when somebody started watching, based on when they
- 2:49what team they support. You could always, yeah, what
- 2:51team they support because like, you know, it's like people that
- 2:53in the early 90s there was like, you know, or late 90s there was
- 2:56Arsenal, you know, then it was Chelsea and then it's, you know,
- 2:59so it's kind of funny like that. Yeah.
- 3:01That kind of shakes out. I feel like Liverpool, yeah,
- 3:03like there's a, there's a huge overlap with with Gerard, right,
- 3:06And Liverpool fans. And then I feel the same way
- 3:09about Chelsea and like like the drug but era for some reason.
- 3:14That was definitely yeah, yeah, 100% like you and you drag, but
- 3:17Lampard. So you're there for Stevie G
- 3:20Sammy, hope you're like some really good Michael Barrage back
- 3:24in the day. John and Arisa John on the.
- 3:26Day John on Arisa. What a left foot.
- 3:28Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, that goal.
- 3:31Yeah, yeah, that's a good thing. Absolutely.
- 3:33Yeah. Then.
- 3:33What about what? What about what about fantasy?
- 3:36How long have you been playing that and how did you get into?
- 3:38How did you get into that? I just looked because you, I saw
- 3:41you were going to ask me this question and I realized that
- 3:44this is year #9 nice. Yeah, fine, it's fine.
- 3:51But yeah, this isn't this is this will be 9.
- 3:53So 2 on Taga and then the rest on fan tracks.
- 3:57Amazing. Yeah.
- 3:59It was like the precursor, right?
- 4:00It was like that's what they call the scoring system.
- 4:02I know a little bit. I know, I know a little bit
- 4:04there. You go, yeah.
- 4:05So if you want to talk podcasts, I mean, we don't get, we don't
- 4:08have time to get into all the lore.
- 4:09But like, if you want to talk podcasts, there was a podcast
- 4:13that was called it was called Bang Average and it was the
- 4:17creator of Taga, John Wallin and a couple of his buddies would do
- 4:23the podcast, but they basically just talked shit the whole time,
- 4:27like not in about like they just like chatted about nothing.
- 4:29They just bantered and people would TuneIn to try to get
- 4:33fantasy advice and they're like, I none of this is actionable.
- 4:38I can't do anything with this information.
- 4:40So so that was when me and if you know the, if you know draft
- 4:43Genie, that's when me and him decided to start the Kick Around
- 4:47podcast and we pitched it to fan tracks and they actually picked
- 4:52it up and they were like, yeah, cool.
- 4:53You can be like part of our, our, yeah.
- 4:57You're. Awesome.
- 4:58That's cool, man. And then you and then you guys
- 4:59took that and kind of did your own thing with draft society,
- 5:02right? That kind of.
- 5:03Yeah, I mean, anybody who's had any amount of, let's just call
- 5:09it interaction with fan tracks or their their UI or their
- 5:12management, it was only natural that we needed to like do our
- 5:16own thing because we just were never going to see eye to eye.
- 5:19Love the platform that they run, love that they keep it free for
- 5:22us. But they, yeah, they're not,
- 5:25they're not great to, like, work under.
- 5:28Totally makes sense. And what's kind of your role
- 5:30now? Yeah.
- 5:32Yeah, yeah. What's kind of your role now?
- 5:33I know you read some articles, you're kind of just what's you
- 5:36kind of do a little bit of everything for the draft
- 5:38Society? Is that kind of your?
- 5:40I'm big in, I'm big into the draft kit because I have summers
- 5:42off. I'm a teacher, so I'm, I'm, I do
- 5:46a lot of work in the summers on the draft kit and then during
- 5:49the school year, which I don't have much time.
- 5:50I'm mainly just the, the voice. I I run the podcast and that's
- 5:53really about it. And what about so this year
- 5:55draft kit? Does it come out tomorrow?
- 5:56What's the day? Out.
- 5:57Yeah, I'm literally gonna. I'm gonna publish it after we're
- 6:00off the air. Amazing.
- 6:01So July 1st, so it'll probably be the 4th or something by the
- 6:04time this comes out. So it'll already be out.
- 6:07And what, what are you most decided about this year for the
- 6:09draft kit? I mean, we've got a lot of the,
- 6:12the best hits, like the, you know, the the greatest hits that
- 6:14we've got on there do not draft list.
- 6:16You know, we've got of course, the starting 11 of sleepers.
- 6:19We'll have all of our rankings from every single draft society
- 6:23analyst we will have. I mean, just like forecast for
- 6:27every single Premier League team.
- 6:29I'm excited about the flashback this time because the flashbacks
- 6:32are all in one place and you can read them kind of all at the
- 6:35same time instead of clicking to a bunch of different articles.
- 6:38So that'll be cool. And those, those will be live
- 6:41starting tomorrow. All of our flashbacks looking
- 6:43back at last year. I got 2.
- 6:45I got 2 questions. All right, One, you said you're
- 6:47a teacher. Are you a teacher or you're a PE
- 6:49teacher? What, what, which?
- 6:50Or you're a teacher. I love this.
- 6:54No. Is that a real?
- 6:55Is that a real question? It's a real question.
- 6:56It is. Well, I mean, it is.
- 6:58It is. So what?
- 7:00So there's, there's two like PE teacher goes hand in hand with
- 7:05like teaching an elective, which basically means like, you know,
- 7:08oh, you teach something that kids want to take.
- 7:11No, I I teach English so. OK.
- 7:14They have to take my class all four years and they hate every
- 7:16moment. Of it I like English.
- 7:18I did English later. What what what grades you teach?
- 7:21Mostly sophomores, I teach some AP as well.
- 7:24But but yeah, and then I teach speech class as well, so that
- 7:26would make sense. Very cool.
- 7:29And so we could probably use a little, we could probably use a
- 7:31little your little speech ability as sometimes I feel like
- 7:34we're all mispronouncing all that players names.
- 7:36It's so hard when they're also international, you know?
- 7:38I I say perfectly fine we talk about I have my English teacher
- 7:42would love me right now because my Annunciation since I came to
- 7:44America is excellent because I can't even slow my words.
- 7:48Second question, do you have like a ghost .11 on this?
- 7:52Oh. Look at that.
- 7:54I just gave an idea. You're welcome.
- 7:56Enzo, that is a fantastic idea. Guess what we do now.
- 8:00Oh. There you go, there you go.
- 8:02We do that. You heard it here first.
- 8:03Just. FYI, my team is going to be a
- 8:05staple to that because I'm doing money.
- 8:07All right, I'm going to I'm going to give you a shout out in
- 8:09the article. Yeah.
- 8:10What's OK that this might be a perfect kind of segue into this.
- 8:13What kind of metric do you think is overlooked for people, either
- 8:16that you guys talk about in the drop kit or just something that
- 8:19you see on fan tricks that you use that you think that maybe
- 8:21people aren't putting enough weight in?
- 8:23Is there anything that comes to mind?
- 8:25I mean, totally. I mean, I, I focus a lot on
- 8:27ghost points as as Enzo mentions, I focus a ton on that
- 8:33for, I have to say this every single time on our show, but
- 8:36for, for listeners who are unaware, those are points that
- 8:38you get from that are not linked to Gold's assistant clean
- 8:41sheets. So anything else that gets you
- 8:43points on the fantasy pitch, that's what we look at and
- 8:45that's what you want to give you a backbone of like a, you know,
- 8:48a good, a good floor for your players.
- 8:51Also, are you guys familiar with WAR?
- 8:54Yes, yeah, winds above replacement.
- 8:56Yeah, that is. That's one of the ones that I
- 8:59use really heavily when making my rankings.
- 9:04Interesting. Yeah, that's all.
- 9:06You guys have a bunch of that stuff in the draft kit cuz
- 9:08that's definitely not as accessible that kind of you
- 9:11know, so that's definitely where you can meet you guys.
- 9:14We need people that are a little more data centric to get that
- 9:17pulled in. Yeah, totally.
- 9:19Yeah, WAR scores are harder to come by.
- 9:21You're gonna have to, you're gonna have to kind of dig a
- 9:23little bit, but they are in, they are in the draft kit for
- 9:25sure. And basically what it means, let
- 9:28me just and then hold on until then.
- 9:30I'll, I'll sorry. But so basically what WAR is, is
- 9:35a measurement of how much better a certain player is then like a
- 9:40waiver wire level replacement for that position.
- 9:45So and then if you add up the WAR, basically what it will tell
- 9:49you is how many more wins your team could be expected to have
- 9:53just by having that particular player over a random waiver wire
- 9:57guy. So for example, Mohamed Salah
- 10:004.19 last year, which means that just by having him you could
- 10:05expect to have won four more games than you would have if you
- 10:08did not have him on your team. And but that's like an absurdly
- 10:11high number, right? Like a like a normal like elite.
- 10:14Maybe first round pick would be what close to like a 1.5 or
- 10:17something or two. Yeah, I mean Palmer and Bomo
- 10:20were 2 1/2 last. Half.
- 10:22OK, Yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
- 10:25Yeah. That's a, that's an interesting
- 10:26metric because it's, it's, it's interesting to see like how you
- 10:30comp that to like points per start, how you know how you use
- 10:33that in relation, how you weigh it when you're looking at other
- 10:35metrics too. Yeah.
- 10:36You know, I'd be really curious kind of how you do that a little
- 10:39bit. I mean, yeah, we could we could
- 10:41do a whole episode on this. So points per start is is super
- 10:46important. And I would just tell anybody
- 10:48who's still using fan tracks point per game, do you need to
- 10:52get away from that? Like just head over to Draft
- 10:54Society, go to our useful draft metrics and it's it's free.
- 10:58It's it's not charged for that at all.
- 10:59So you can look at this anytime. Points per start is what you
- 11:02want. I mean because points per game
- 11:04is going to take into account appearances as as a substitute.
- 11:07Yeah. Yeah, OK.
- 11:09All right. And then so let's get into a
- 11:10little bit what give us give us a little cheat on the from the
- 11:14draft, the draft kit. What's 1 player that you're
- 11:16staying away from this year in drafts?
- 11:18Oh man, I have a lot of these. It's a big red flag.
- 11:22OK, let me see, Let me pull this up quick, All right?
- 11:26Staying away from anybody who's super goal dependent, anybody
- 11:30who's not going to be on Enzo's Ghost .11.
- 11:34So we're talking about guys, you know, like Mathias Tell, Emil
- 11:40Smith, Rowe, Reese Nelson, any of these guys who, you know,
- 11:45people are still drafting for some reason, they end up giving
- 11:49you the same amount of points that you can get from from
- 11:51waiver wire guys. That's great.
- 11:54And what about a player to surprise us this season?
- 11:58Anyone who you're really, really excited about.
- 12:00Yeah, I mean, Enzo, you're going to love this one as well.
- 12:05Really late in drafts, you can get either Jed Spence or Destiny
- 12:10Udoggi. I can't tell you at the moment
- 12:13which one exactly it will be. Yeah, if you look online, a lot
- 12:17of the the chatter is about Spence.
- 12:19And I'll be curious to hear from you, Enzo, on this.
- 12:21But everybody's talking about like what an amazing player he
- 12:26could be under a Thomas Frank fullback system.
- 12:29And if we look at just like Michael Coyote to end the year,
- 12:33his stats were amazing and his ghost points were incredible.
- 12:37And I'm really excited, intrigued about the idea of
- 12:40maybe a Jed Spence under under Frank or maybe it's a Dokie.
- 12:44I'm not sure yet. But one of those you can get
- 12:46really late. You can probably get them both
- 12:47in in rounds. You know 1415.
- 12:50It's all going to depend on if Thomas Frank doesn't mind having
- 12:53a right footed player on the left.
- 12:54So I don't see him taking over Pedro Poro unless we sell him
- 12:57off this season, which I don't see us doing.
- 13:00I hope not. I hope not.
- 13:02That's what I mean. But but he's amazing attacking
- 13:04wise, defensive wise, he takes on players.
- 13:06So he's got dribble completions. He's got a goal threat.
- 13:09In this Thomas Frank sort of triangle football, we'll call it
- 13:13the triangle football where he overloads on one side.
- 13:16There's a lot of opportunity for him.
- 13:18So is Spence the left footer? Dog is right footer no.
- 13:21No Spence, right foot, your dog is left.
- 13:25Got it. OK, Good to know.
- 13:26I'm taking notes as we do this. Yeah.
- 13:30I like, I like them both. Yeah.
- 13:32Also, Charlie Alcaraz is another one I'm looking at.
- 13:35I like that. Yeah, I think he's gonna have.
- 13:36I think he's gonna have a big ear.
- 13:38I think he, when you looked on, when you looked on on fan
- 13:42tracks, his numbers were also skewed because, you know, he
- 13:44came in with like, you know, was subbing in for a few games and
- 13:47his numbers were so kind of didn't really reflect at how
- 13:50well he did every single time he started.
- 13:52So he's someone I picked up late last year and really enjoyed
- 13:55having. And so, yeah, definitely looking
- 13:57for that just. Didn't get the starts and now,
- 13:59you know, guys like Harrison are gone and even like De Coray,
- 14:03like I just think there's, there's places for him to start,
- 14:05even if it's maybe not his natural position.
- 14:07But now that they've signed him, you know, long term, I I think
- 14:11they're going to have to find a way to get him in the team.
- 14:13And, and I think that, you know, the combination of him and
- 14:16Illaman Jai and Beto, I think could actually be really, really
- 14:19and and of course don't. Don't forget about Yeah, ghost
- 14:23point master, do I? Big deal.
- 14:25No, I was we we kind of talked about this a few times.
- 14:27We think that Everton attack is like deceivingly exciting, you
- 14:31know, especially going into this next year.
- 14:33So it could be a fun one. All right, let's kind of go
- 14:35through. So something we like to do,
- 14:37especially right now with transfer winners being crazy.
- 14:38Just talking if about a few of the kind of biggest news and
- 14:42notes and try not to linger too much on this because this could
- 14:44also be a whole episode if you really wanted to track it out.
- 14:48But a few big things. I guess the the biggest things
- 14:50are right now Jon Pedro and Jamie Gittens to Chelsea both
- 14:53happening. I know.
- 14:55I mean, as a Chelsea fan, I do not feel good about the Jon
- 14:59Pedro one, right? Like that doesn't like as it
- 15:02doesn't feel good. As someone who likes Jaal Pedro,
- 15:04you're like, oh, you're really losing a lot of his fantasy
- 15:07value A&B. Just like where, where do you,
- 15:09where does he end up? It seems like he can play in
- 15:11three different positions, you know, but he's not as he's going
- 15:14to be #1 in any of those three positions.
- 15:16You. That's that's that's the big.
- 15:18Thing, man, is he going to get the minutes?
- 15:19I love Jaal Pedro and so do you. That was your hips I picked two
- 15:22years ago and I don't know if he's going to get the minutes,
- 15:27but this is like the fourth player from Brian Chelsea's
- 15:29sport. So if you really think about it,
- 15:31what are the ones that they bought?
- 15:32Cucarella Casado. All right, Are you ready?
- 15:35Are you ready for this? I have this stat because it was
- 15:38it was thrown around. It was thrown around in the
- 15:40draft Society chat today our our little group chat that we have
- 15:44so over the last three years between coaches and players.
- 15:491313 from Brighton to Chelsea, Wow.
- 15:54OK, so if you combine that with the amount of players that they
- 15:57bought from Man City's Academy, it's pretty much the whole team.
- 16:01Like a legitimately when you look, it's like it's literally
- 16:03the whole team. It's between those two things.
- 16:06So it is kind of weird, kind of crazy.
- 16:09I think in my my job page actually goes like drops on drop
- 16:13boards now going to Chelsea, where I think if he was going to
- 16:16Newcastle or is pretty much going to any other team, you'd
- 16:18think he'd probably go up. Yep.
- 16:20So little little bit of a bummer as a as a fan of Jon Pedro, but
- 16:24I'm not mad about it as a Chelsea fan.
- 16:26Yeah, Thanks, Chelsea. No, it's definitely exactly, No,
- 16:30I it's sad. It's sad from a draft
- 16:32standpoint. What I can tell you is that we
- 16:35tomorrow we will also come out with our tiered rankings.
- 16:37So we don't have our consensus rankings yet, but we do have our
- 16:40tiers, our version, one of our tiers.
- 16:42And before launch here today, I definitely downgraded him one
- 16:46tier. So absolutely, yeah.
- 16:49And then I think Jamie Ginz is interesting.
- 16:51He's young, he had twelve goals, 5 assists, so you know, good
- 16:54numbers, but it's the Bundesliga, so it's kind of
- 16:55really hard to gauge that. But I think he's going to be
- 16:59just that like left footed winger.
- 17:00I think Jon Pedro can play it on the left too, though.
- 17:02So I think that's, you know, and then obviously we've seen Matt
- 17:05Reck play there, we've seen Pedro Netta play there.
- 17:07So it's not like there's this any sort of clarity about where
- 17:10any of those guys really go, you know?
- 17:13Right. So, so OK, we're making good
- 17:16time. Let's let's let's pause on this
- 17:17for a second. So Keith, tell me where you see
- 17:21these players playing, because I think Neto has been playing at
- 17:25the Club World Cup, I mean, pretty consistently.
- 17:27I've actually been really encouraged to see the minutes
- 17:29that he's been getting and the way that he ended the Season 2.
- 17:33I was really excited about him until this news yesterday.
- 17:36Funny, I I don't think that he effects Netzo that much.
- 17:40I think Netzo's probably playing off the right.
- 17:42I think we never played off the left.
- 17:43It just wasn't he wasn't as strong.
- 17:45OK, I think Gil Pedro can, I think what's nice about Gil
- 17:47Pedro's he can play in the like that ten that Cole Palmer plays.
- 17:51I think he can play as a striker if like Jackson goes down or
- 17:54gets sold or Liam dilapse injured and they need a sub.
- 17:57And I also thought Gil Pedro when he played for Watford
- 18:00played off the left too. So I think he can fit any of
- 18:03those three positions. So I think it's, you know,
- 18:07realistically, is he really gonna like battle out Cole
- 18:10Palmer and the 10? Probably not.
- 18:11Realistically, is he gonna battle out one of the two
- 18:13strikers and the nine? Probably not.
- 18:15So like, oh, great. Realistically, it's like the
- 18:17left wing where you would think that he has the best shot of
- 18:21locking down a Sonic starting spot.
- 18:23Yeah, you just mentioned like 20 players there that he has a bow
- 18:26with. You're giving me a headache.
- 18:28That's what I'm saying. I think you're gonna see.
- 18:29Yeah, it is. It's a, it's a headache.
- 18:31It's a total headache. The whole thing's a headache.
- 18:33Your complete. Optimism of how Enzo Mareska can
- 18:36fit all these players on one team.
- 18:39It's impossible. Well, what if you invert both
- 18:43the full backs, you get everyone up?
- 18:47No. Yeah, it's gonna be, it's gonna
- 18:48be a headache. It's I think the whole, I think,
- 18:50you know, barring like Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer, I
- 18:54think that whole attack's gonna be a headache.
- 18:55Well, yeah, I don't think there's anyone that's super
- 18:57safe. I think I will say though, Joe,
- 18:59to your point, like, I think Pedro Netto has looked really
- 19:02good and he was looking really good the last season with the
- 19:04Club World Cup. He looks great, but he's also
- 19:06like to me, he's so dependent on transition play to really
- 19:11thrive. He needs and like it's not
- 19:13necessarily the way that Maresca like loves to play, but you when
- 19:17you see what most of his goals come through transition when he
- 19:19was playing for Wolves is on that counter attacking team.
- 19:21So sometimes I think when they sit against that low block, he
- 19:24can struggle. So I'm not like I don't have a
- 19:26ton of confidence in him through a whole season where he has to
- 19:28play against the, you know, those type of like low block
- 19:32teams that are going to really lock in, you know, So, yeah, I I
- 19:35like I'm staying away from a lot of Chelsea assets this year.
- 19:38You. Know what this situation reminds
- 19:39me of? And Kun Ku last season?
- 19:44Yeah, swear. Like and then and then Jeff,
- 19:46Felix too, just how? And then they get there, then
- 19:48how unsettled they become really quickly when if Mareska is not
- 19:51going to rotate and it becomes a thing where, you know, he's
- 19:54getting a random FA Cup game or, you know, you know, there's no
- 19:59conference league this year. So it'll it'll it'll be really
- 20:01interesting. And I don't think Jon Pager's
- 20:03type of guy that's not going to he he seems like type of guy
- 20:05that would cause a fuss. You know, he definitely has a
- 20:07lot of personality, so. Sancho Mudrick, I mean, add it
- 20:11to the list and then you're the new boy, Keith, that you're that
- 20:15you a couple episodes ago were banging on about.
- 20:18Stadio. Yeah, I mean, he's that's he's
- 20:21toast. There's no way he's playing.
- 20:25Yeah, I I don't know. I don't know how he does it.
- 20:28I I'm not. Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:32We'll see. Could be a could be a civil war
- 20:35in that dressing room depending on what happens.
- 20:39Do you? Do you happen to have your?
- 20:40Do I happen to have my what? Your your rankings up at the
- 20:43moment. I know you made some rankings,
- 20:44do you have them? I do.
- 20:46Where do you have Neto? I have my I have mine done
- 20:49through #40 OK so I think mine are not complete but.
- 20:53I'm going to look right now and this is this is I was they were
- 20:56joking about this. This is changing quite a bit
- 20:59every week. Things are moving.
- 21:00I have that's right now at 44. Oh wow, I'm at 27.
- 21:04OK, yeah, See, I don't, I don't have faith that he's going to
- 21:07play 30 plus games, you know, And so to me that that's where
- 21:11the concern is because I think it's about, you know, when you
- 21:13look at everyone ahead of him, they're guys that you're going
- 21:15to start every single game that, you know, you're going to get
- 21:17day in, day in, day out kind of starts from.
- 21:21And to me like that, that becomes important, especially in
- 21:23the first four or five rounds, you know, maybe first 3-4 rounds
- 21:27and then after that is when I start to splash out on the on
- 21:31the riskier guys. Yeah, Yeah.
- 21:33I mean that's fair. You're we're going to in our
- 21:37conversation in a little bit. Well, I'm sure touch on the fact
- 21:39that forwards are very thin. And so it's going to be an
- 21:44interesting to see. I I just I loved what I saw from
- 21:47him at the to end the year and I I loved what I've seen from him
- 21:50so far this summer. And so if that were to continue,
- 21:55I'm I'm in like, I think he looks fantastic.
- 21:58He's like, he's like reborn. I, I totally agree.
- 22:00And I mean, and you, you also, he has the pedigree of, of being
- 22:03such an explosive player. And we've seen him just like
- 22:05have such high point returns, you know, for Wolves in the
- 22:08past. So, you know, it's a
- 22:09possibility. So I, I totally get it.
- 22:11And that, you know, he might move literally when we get off
- 22:14this call, I might move him just because I like, I changed stuff
- 22:17so much. But but, but yeah, no, I
- 22:20totally, I see that. Like I totally get it.
- 22:22I think I'm just, I'm being kind of pessimistic on most of the
- 22:25Chelsea attack at the moment. The amount of players there.
- 22:28I just don't, it's just not something I want to be taking a
- 22:30risk on, especially in the first 3 rounds.
- 22:32It's kind of where I'm at with it.
- 22:35I think that makes total sense. I mean, honestly, I, I'm, I'm
- 22:38coming around to that point of view as well.
- 22:39And I was, I was being a little bit hopeful this season for some
- 22:42of the Chelsea guys. And yesterday, you know, when
- 22:46that news came through, I thought you took the words out
- 22:50of my mouth when you said, like, if he'd gone anywhere else,
- 22:53anywhere else, it would have been an increase in value.
- 22:57Yeah. All right.
- 22:59I think that was that was enough there just really quickly, we're
- 23:01all just. Sad now?
- 23:03Not me. Yeah, I'm fine.
- 23:07Miles Lewis, Skelly contract extension, not that big a deal
- 23:10like, but I think in my mind it's just like the the more I
- 23:13think about the Arsenal back line and the amount of players
- 23:15they have now and with everyone back healthy, I like that to me
- 23:18just seems like such a rotation risk and that to me seems kind
- 23:21of concerning. Could be or does he go back to
- 23:25his natural position? In the midfield, but then even
- 23:30yeah, he's like a yeah, but he's playing left back.
- 23:32I'm not sure. It seems like Arsenal's been
- 23:33kind of using him to invert as like a piece, you know.
- 23:36But even without him, the amount of defenders they have, you
- 23:40don't feel great about a lot, you know, like Timber, like Cal
- 23:43Fiori's even, like it's even in the starting plans.
- 23:47I don't know. They have Timber.
- 23:48They have, you know, I just, I don't know who I don't know.
- 23:51I don't know who's going to be starting for them.
- 23:53I wouldn't be late. I would love to see him in
- 23:55midfield though. He's a strong lad.
- 23:56He's like not built like a kid, like from his age.
- 23:59He's he's built like a, a solid like 26 year old.
- 24:04And he the way he's playing, I think he'd be a lot better than
- 24:06Martinelli because he's more attacked forward and he doesn't
- 24:09just put his head down and run. He actually looks up, you know,
- 24:12I mean, so I think that could be a little bit more.
- 24:15Yeah, I don't know if he's a like an attacking man.
- 24:18Yeah, I don't know. I'm I'm curious to see where he
- 24:20ends up. That's a good, good point.
- 24:22I've talked, I've talked to Ryan Barnes about this and you know,
- 24:25die hard Arsenal fan just just had his son by the way and his
- 24:31wife did, which is cool. That's right.
- 24:34Just to give you some insight, his son's name is Santi David
- 24:37Barnes. So, so Ryan, right?
- 24:44So Ryan basically thinks that it's Lewis Kelly's spot.
- 24:49I mean, he he's only he's only skeptical about the fact that
- 24:55Sergey what's up, man? He's only he's only skeptical
- 24:59about the fact that that we don't know exactly how that
- 25:06translates to fantasy points because now if you go based on
- 25:10fan tracks default, we did recommend to them that this year
- 25:15they switched Lewis Kelly to a defender, which they have done,
- 25:19which is cool. The question now becomes adding
- 25:22in the clean sheets to his fantasy scores, which were
- 25:25really bad last year. Does he actually become a
- 25:27playable fantasy asset? I'm still not convinced, but but
- 25:32he will have those clean sheets now.
- 25:33So it's something that people could consider late in drafts.
- 25:38Yeah, I'm not mad at it. I'm not mad at all.
- 25:41I think they're just going to come second again anyway, so I'm
- 25:47not fucking mad. About that Oh.
- 25:48We could have the clean sheep boy.
- 25:49It's just what draws. You get nil nil draws.
- 25:51That's fine, You get the clean. All right, that next next big
- 25:56news is Luis Diaz. It's not.
- 25:59It sounded like the rumours that Saudi was prepping a big bid and
- 26:02then it sounds like that buyer today came into the mix as well.
- 26:05And so this is one of those sagas I could see dragging on
- 26:07until after drafts, you know, the the way Ivan Tony was last
- 26:11year and Kane was here before. And as this goes on, he's
- 26:14dropping down on my board. I just it's I do not want to
- 26:17like, especially in that like where he was for me.
- 26:19I had him pretty high before this news.
- 26:21I hadn't like it like the turn. I don't like 10/11/12, like
- 26:24right there And now it's like I do not want to touch anyone in
- 26:28those first few rounds that could potentially even have the
- 26:30potential to be gone. Yeah.
- 26:31There's so many bigger names and important names around it.
- 26:34Yes. You know.
- 26:35That was my boy, not my boy anymore.
- 26:39It's just, it's just too risk. It's just too risky.
- 26:42Yeah, no, I totally agree. I mean, I at the moment, I still
- 26:46have him at 14, but but you know, obviously enough people
- 26:51got burned by Harry Kane that I'm, I'm really, really wary of
- 26:58that. And I would, I draft him
- 27:00personally, I, I doubt it. I think I would probably go with
- 27:03whoever I have right around there.
- 27:06How far would he have to drop for you to draft him well?
- 27:10That's a good question. Tell you what, Tell you what.
- 27:12Here's what I would do if I drafted him in the third.
- 27:15Let's say I would. I would reach as far as I needed
- 27:20to on Cody Gacpo. Yeah, that's a good call.
- 27:23It's a really good shot. Yeah, I like that.
- 27:27All right. Just trying to speed through the
- 27:28last ones. Kudus, Tana, rumors.
- 27:30Enzo, do you like that? No, screw that guy for getting
- 27:33red card. Screw that guy.
- 27:35He doesn't need kind of ton him, you know, ruin the freaking
- 27:38change room. Get rid of him.
- 27:40Reverse reverse, reverse jinx. No, I don't want.
- 27:43Kudos. I want him two seasons ago.
- 27:45I don't want a kudos from last season.
- 27:47He can go kick rocks. Whoa.
- 27:50I did not think that was going to be a response.
- 27:51Sorry. I apologize.
- 27:53I think kudos goes up boards he was bad, but how much of that
- 27:56was like West Ham was pretty bad?
- 27:59I mean, sure, but Bowen seems to always deliver.
- 28:03Yeah, completely. That's.
- 28:04True, Bowen is like the most unsexy pick that I you know what
- 28:08I mean? He's like, but he's so
- 28:09consistent. He doesn't and he just got
- 28:12married so he's in a good bloody mood, so he should be all.
- 28:15Right, this is Enzo's latest thing is he's really looking at
- 28:18the everyone's relationship status before making decisions.
- 28:23Latest you've. Got to be in a good place
- 28:25mentally, you know what I mean? Like going for a divorce.
- 28:28Terrible scene with man. See, you know, yeah.
- 28:32I suppose, yeah. Did you guys see that Bowen got
- 28:36switched to a forward as well? Oh, did he?
- 28:38I did. I don't know, I love that I, you
- 28:41know, I it makes so much sense, but I was like kind of mad
- 28:44because he was someone I was really trying to target because
- 28:46of that mid position and the scar scarcity of it.
- 28:49No. You're going to have plenty of
- 28:50mids this year. I know I've heard we're going to
- 28:52get let's get into that one minute.
- 28:53One last one. I want to talk about Gorkarez.
- 28:55It sounds, I mean, it's still so in the air.
- 28:57If he was to go to Arsenal, just like that hypothetical, not Man
- 29:01United, because I don't want any other player going to Man United
- 29:03this this transfer window. But if Gorkarez was to go to
- 29:05Arsenal, where do where roughly do you think could go in drafts?
- 29:10Like where does he fall in in the in in your in your rankings?
- 29:13What? Do you think Enzo I.
- 29:14Fucking hate Arsenal, but he he scored a lot of goals.
- 29:18Something wrong? He he scored a fucking ton of
- 29:20goals, but it was in the Portuguese league.
- 29:22But regardless, if you're going to score a lot of goals, you go
- 29:24over the top like he's done. He's not first rounder, maybe
- 29:29late second, early 3rd. The way, so the way I see it is
- 29:33if we first of all you're not going to get in there.
- 29:36The way I see it is that if they go with Yokoresh, I think that
- 29:42that is a statement that they are putting all of their eggs in
- 29:46this year's basket like the. Winning.
- 29:49And I think that he ends up starting the vast majority of
- 29:52matches. If you see them bring in
- 29:55Benjamin Chesco, then I think that is an indication that they
- 29:59are sort of playing the longer game, two or three years and I
- 30:04think you're going to see him and Haverts split quite a bit,
- 30:07which terrifies me. I still think haverts will play
- 30:10a good deal. So my answer is somebody will
- 30:15take him at the end of the first round because there is a very
- 30:18significant drop off that we're about to talk about at the end
- 30:21of the first round, but it will not be me.
- 30:24It will not be me. I I feel this similar.
- 30:28I think I could, I would not laugh at someone taking him at
- 30:33like 11, you know, Yeah, I think earlier than that I would be
- 30:37doing the the Nelson ha ha. And then yeah, I think anywhere
- 30:42from like 11, but I think like by by mid second, if he's still
- 30:45there, I'd absolutely be taking him.
- 30:47Would you rather have him or Bowen?
- 30:49I'd rather have that Bowen just for consistency.
- 30:52Would you rather have him or Eze if he doesn't go to Arsenal?
- 30:55I think that's I think that's actually the line for me.
- 30:57I think Eze I'd rather take. But then like for me, like
- 30:59Munez, I'd rather have Gorkarez. I think I'd rather take that
- 31:03upside than a defender because I know for me defenders, we'll
- 31:07talk about it in a minute. But I think defenders have
- 31:09historically been a little less consistent as far as like your
- 31:13your generating points. Yeah, your name isn't Trent or
- 31:16chair ship here. So that that to me would maybe
- 31:19turn that like be the be the the line right there where I'd maybe
- 31:24be interested in it. What about him or staying in
- 31:26forward? What about him or Ollie Watkins?
- 31:30I like Ollie Watkins, but I think that's a really tough one.
- 31:34I have him at 18, so that would be Watkins.
- 31:36Yeah, Watkins at 18, huh? Yeah, yeah, it'd be quite the
- 31:40jump for me. So is that, is that kind of
- 31:42where you you are? So that's kind of where you feel
- 31:44like door crash would would be as well then?
- 31:47Not necessarily. I man, even later I might I
- 31:51might slot him in right before Luis Diaz if if there's still
- 31:55transfer rumors. So I might have him at that 14
- 31:57spot. Good to know.
- 31:59All righty, then let's get into it.
- 32:00So you guys did a mock draft. This was last week.
- 32:03So that what it was like the end of June, you guys did a mock
- 32:07draft. Yeah, we.
- 32:09Had to do 1 before the the draft kit.
- 32:11It was so early, but it was, it was, it was fascinating to
- 32:14watch. And I'm going to pull up the
- 32:16board right now on my screen so anyone on YouTube can watch it.
- 32:20We'll still kind of talk through it.
- 32:21Nice. And then OK.
- 32:24Yeah, we actually did a live podcast as well, which was fun.
- 32:26You, you were in the. You were in the.
- 32:28That was fun. That was like a great you you
- 32:29messaged me that morning and I like didn't really have plans
- 32:32and I was like, I can't wait to do this for the next hour.
- 32:34It was a. Blast.
- 32:36It was so much fun just just talking through each pic.
- 32:38And I mean, yeah, we felt like, we felt like proper
- 32:41sportscasters. Yeah, you guys can see the draft
- 32:46board. Yes, yeah.
- 32:48Great. All right.
- 32:49So we'll kind of just go through this quickly.
- 32:51I think the kind of want to focus on the first few rounds to
- 32:54start and then we can maybe just pick and pick and choose after
- 32:57that. The 1st 6 picks I think are
- 32:59pretty 6-7 are pretty standard, maybe the 1st 5 for sure.
- 33:04And that they go Saka, Muhammad, Salah, Cole Palmer, Bruno
- 33:06Fernandez, Alexander Isaac, and then worse than the six maybe is
- 33:10the first point of discussion for me that the choice was to go
- 33:15there instead of Holland. Again, I, I'd like, I think the
- 33:18only issue there, the only question mark there is just
- 33:21worth being a new player in the league.
- 33:22But I think we've talked about it a lot that the pedigree of
- 33:26both of Liverpool and the pedigree of him as a player kind
- 33:29of seem like that's not, not, I don't.
- 33:31I don't hate that at all, you know?
- 33:33And I think the bigger talking point is the fact that Holland
- 33:36is at 7 seven. Like what?
- 33:38Why is he not 5? Well, yeah, I, I, I mean, to me,
- 33:41the reason is, is because the amount of attacking talent that
- 33:44they're bringing in and like the Marmouche kind of rising and
- 33:47these other players where maybe it's not going to be Holland
- 33:49starting 36 games like he has the last Four Seasons, you know?
- 33:53Yeah. So I think that would that would
- 33:55be the reason. But I mean, at the end of the
- 33:57day, it's still he's still a machine.
- 34:00He's still on the machine of a team.
- 34:03So he. Can he can bounce basically
- 34:04bounce back season for CEO? I'm going to go do it
- 34:06back-to-back bad seasons. This is they can't, especially
- 34:09what they invested. And Alexander Esac, the reason
- 34:12he's 5th is because he's a baller.
- 34:13I've been saying this for two years, so.
- 34:15Yeah. Yeah, I think with ESAC, you get
- 34:17a little more. You know, Holland is so goal
- 34:19dependent. He's such a, you know, so
- 34:22dependent where ESAC, I feel you get a little more of a baseline
- 34:25there. Yeah, so.
- 34:27That's a great question. We should, we should look at
- 34:29that. Alexander Esac.
- 34:31Let's see, we have a stat that is called GACS which is goal
- 34:35assist clean sheet percentage. Meaning how many of their
- 34:38fantasy points do they get from or what percentage of their
- 34:41fantasy points do they get from goals and clean sheets?
- 34:44Alexander Esock gets 52% of his fantasy points from goals,
- 34:49assist and clean sheets, which is a lot.
- 34:51That's high, but forwards are high.
- 34:53But what? What's Holland?
- 34:54I bet you it's even more. 50. Is it OK?
- 34:56So I'm totally I'm totally wrong.
- 34:58Never mind then. So that actually changes OK.
- 35:01What do you think Cole Palmer is?
- 35:05Probably high 30s to mid 40s. 36 Nice. 36 yeah, yeah, I mean
- 35:11Palma, we we talked about Palma Fernandez to us in soccer like
- 35:15the the base, the baselines are so high with them because even
- 35:18if they're not scoring, they just create so much.
- 35:21I think Guemos is probably pretty good as well.
- 35:23I'm guessing, huh. Well, it was, yeah.
- 35:27It was 40. It was, it was 40.
- 35:30Yeah, yeah. We can talk about him in a
- 35:32second because that's who I took first round.
- 35:33Yeah. So after Holland, Yeah, Brian
- 35:36and Buemmo, that was you, Joe. You were in pick.
- 35:37Eight. I was in pick eight, yeah.
- 35:39Was there any concern, but was it between CUNY and Buemmo?
- 35:42Were those kind of the the two right there?
- 35:44Absolutely, absolutely. Those are the two.
- 35:46And then there's a drop off in my opinion.
- 35:47I mean, and even even pick eight, I felt like, so here,
- 35:53here's how this all happened. I organized the mock draft and
- 35:55I'd let everybody else pick their their draft picks and I
- 35:59just took whatever was left. And so the one that was left is
- 36:028, which should maybe tell people something about the draft
- 36:06slots that you want this year. Although arguably now that I'm
- 36:09looking at this, I think maybe 10-11 are actually the worst
- 36:13ones on this board because I feel like I'm Bomo and Cunya are
- 36:17natural after pick 7, but after that it's really starts to get
- 36:24murky. I completely agree.
- 36:26I think one through 7 right now is pretty like you can go any of
- 36:30those ways and it's fine. Then then 8-9 and Buen Mocuna,
- 36:34like you probably don't feel as good about it, but they're there
- 36:36and you'll take them. But then yeah, after that, you
- 36:39know, you do Eze and as a first rounder, as you know, love Eze,
- 36:43but as a first rounder it doesn't feel great, right?
- 36:46You know, cuz you just don't, he doesn't have that high, high
- 36:47upside like some of these other guys.
- 36:50And then and then you're talking about drafting the first
- 36:52defender off the board, which unless, you know, that never
- 36:55feels good, you know, Yeah. And he had he has European
- 36:59football and it oh man, I just. Yeah.
- 37:04So in this mock draft, Eze went 10 and then Munez went 11 and
- 37:09then Anthony Semenyo went 12 and that was the first round.
- 37:11So we was kind of talking a little bit about Eze, but I
- 37:13think that, yeah, let's talk about Munez a little bit.
- 37:15So, yeah, so as you mentioned, European football, so we're just
- 37:19talking more games and then that team is, you know, do you
- 37:23remember how bad they were to start the season?
- 37:26They obviously finished so strong.
- 37:28So like that, I mean, not that, you know, I don't, I don't
- 37:30necessarily think that that means that they're going to be
- 37:32great all next season either. Like Gloucester kind of
- 37:35Gloucester's kind of known for having really slow starts the
- 37:38seasons. So you might see, you might see
- 37:40a similar pattern next year as well with a slow start from that
- 37:43whole team. So that's interesting.
- 37:46And then and then with defenders too, it's like it's just, I
- 37:49think they're the most unpredictable position.
- 37:50Even with the the the scoring change that really helped them.
- 37:54I still think that that position to me is just makes me a little
- 37:56nervous. Yeah, I mean as evidenced by the
- 37:59fact that there were only two taken in the 1st 4 full rounds
- 38:03of this draft. Yeah, Yep.
- 38:06Well, there were two. I'm surprised Poro didn't go
- 38:10along with those two. Somebody got a deal on him at
- 38:125:00. Yeah, yeah, I think that's
- 38:14pretty wild. What else, Semenyo?
- 38:17What do you, what do you think about Semenyo?
- 38:22And you have something else. I'm, I'm just saying, I'm
- 38:23surprised that Bowen didn't go before Semenyo.
- 38:26I like Semenyo a lot, but we spoke about it before about his
- 38:29consistency, how he just does what he does in at West Ham, so.
- 38:33Bowen is my 11th right now. Bowen is my on my draft for it
- 38:37personally so I would take him over Munez and Semenya myself.
- 38:43I have just 11 too. Yeah.
- 38:45Look at that 11 frames. Yeah.
- 38:51Yeah. And so I'm curious what you made
- 38:53of the rest of the first round. Like what were your thoughts on
- 38:59on, on verts at six? Do you guys think that's too
- 39:00early? Just going on his his capability
- 39:04and the Liverpool team that is like you remember they didn't
- 39:07really, you guys only got Chieza last season, so that team won
- 39:10you the league, right. But now we've got Watts, Frim,
- 39:15Pong and Kurk has they've been bought for a reason, aren't they
- 39:19slots? Not buying them just to have
- 39:21them sit on the bench. So he's going to have a vital
- 39:23role and I think with the whole idea of Luis Diaz might be going
- 39:26to Saudi, he's going to have a big role in that attacking front
- 39:303. So I think he can score goals,
- 39:33but how fast is his start? Or is he going to have a slow
- 39:37start? And, you know, it's a it's a
- 39:38physical league compared to the Bundeslig.
- 39:41Yeah. So we'll see I guess the.
- 39:43Question is, who else do you take?
- 39:44I mean, look at this first round, right?
- 39:46Like there's a clear drop off between Holland and Imbombo and
- 39:49Kunya, and then there's another clear drop off between them and
- 39:52Eze. Yeah.
- 39:54And even those two, Imbombo and Kunya, are question marks on
- 39:57their on their new teams. I completely agree.
- 40:00I think that's that's always something I am a little leery of
- 40:03when I'm drafting is like new managers, new teams, both of
- 40:07those things to me. You just never know.
- 40:08There's just a little bit of an unpredictable factor there if
- 40:11everything's going to really gel the same way.
- 40:13So yeah, those those are kind of red, red flag guys for me.
- 40:16But I think just the upside of how well they did last year, you
- 40:19just have to kind of swallow it. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:22And you know, soccer being Arsenal playing, being number
- 40:24one, that's the only time they're going to be #1 on any
- 40:27chart, so. I love it every chance you get.
- 40:32This is fantastic. OK.
- 40:34So Simenio, 12 and Bowen at the at the turn the two one and then
- 40:40Enzo Fernandez 22 feels a little early to be well is it?
- 40:45Does that feel really on point for you guys here?
- 40:47Let's just pump the brakes. It all depends on his how he's
- 40:49going to treat his misses, You know what I mean?
- 40:51Is he going to be out of the turn?
- 40:53Is he going to be, you know, sending out tweets that I want
- 40:56to be single again? He's going to ball out, but if
- 40:59he's tired at home, he can't do nothing and that's to just do
- 41:01cardio. He's going to be tired for the
- 41:02game, so. I don't know your your your
- 41:06league needs to be called like fan tracks, Love Island or
- 41:09something. It's true.
- 41:14Man. It's true.
- 41:15To answer your question, I have Enzo at 16.
- 41:18Currently, so that's 12, so you have a little further back.
- 41:21Yeah, I mean, but he's still he just based on what he did, he's
- 41:24still, he's still a second round pick and he's not gonna go under
- 41:28the radar like he did last year. Unfortunately.
- 41:31He won people leagues, yeah. Totally, Yeah, yeah, I think it
- 41:35was just the different and that's just such a manager
- 41:38thing, right. With Pot, she was playing a
- 41:39little further back. He just didn't have that kind of
- 41:41freedom with with Moresca, it's like, yeah, he's just in a
- 41:46complete, complete different position that suits him so much
- 41:48better. Which is so great.
- 41:49He's playing the Dewsbury Hall role from Leicester, right?
- 41:53Yes, yeah, yeah. Which I mean, he set, I mean, he
- 41:56set the Championship a light that year, so.
- 41:58Yeah, totally. All right then in the 23, Ahmad
- 42:02Diallo, what do you that one is interesting to me.
- 42:07I, I personally am a little leery of him and I know, I know.
- 42:11I think I'm in the minority of thinking that how do you, what
- 42:14do you guys, what do you guys kind of fall on him?
- 42:16I like Diallo. I liked him last season.
- 42:18I think he's a ball. I think he just needs to play
- 42:21more minutes. But where is he going to play in
- 42:23this Amerem team with Brian and Gwenbo and Kunya coming in?
- 42:28Like, where's he going to play? That's that's a conversation we
- 42:31can try to have considering the fact that supposedly United are
- 42:36still being linked with strikers.
- 42:39Everybody thought that Kunya was going to go there, but
- 42:41apparently not. Yeah, Yep, that.
- 42:44And then I think his, what is it?
- 42:47His XG numbers, he was pretty, he overformed his XG by a good
- 42:50amount. You know, I think it was +4 or
- 42:52something like that as well. Really.
- 42:54It was, it was pretty. It was higher than you'd think
- 42:56for the amount. I think he had eight goals and I
- 42:57think it's actually was like 4. +4 is a ton because I was going
- 43:00to bring up another player who over performed by plus four
- 43:04later. Oh.
- 43:06But so do you. Are you pulling it up right now,
- 43:10Joe? Because I don't have it.
- 43:10I don't have it right on me. But I think there was something,
- 43:13it was high, it was a higher number than I like to see on
- 43:17players. So that was something that was a
- 43:18little a points. Per start were high on him too.
- 43:21Yeah, I mean that's The thing is his points per starts are is
- 43:23incredibly high. So when he when he gets in and
- 43:25plays it's it's been exceptional.
- 43:27I just don't know that you can trust that type of return from a
- 43:31wing back that's, you know, that's not classified as a
- 43:35defender. 3.25. 3.25 yeah. That's a lot.
- 43:39That is a lot. Yeah, So that, that's my concern
- 43:43with Diallo. And I think in the same way that
- 43:44like I, I don't know if I'm, I'm gonna see Diallo in any drafts
- 43:47just because I just don't think I'm as hot as him on him as some
- 43:52people. And we have a few different
- 43:53Manchester United fans in our draft.
- 43:55So there's absolutely no chance I see it so ever.
- 43:58Segue into that. So how do you feel, Joe?
- 44:00Like we caught a couple player, couple guys in our league and
- 44:04they will they drop with their heart basically.
- 44:07And we have one guy, Kyle, he basically had like 8 Man United
- 44:10players at one point. Yeah.
- 44:12Like it's like win, win or lose, whether they win or lose, you
- 44:15know what I mean? So how do you feel about that?
- 44:17Is that you think that's a good strategy or not?
- 44:20I mean, this is the year to do it.
- 44:22Like I have a good friend who's also a Man United fan and he's
- 44:27he's basically been beaten down to the point where, I mean, it's
- 44:30where you want to see Man United fans.
- 44:31Like he's been beaten down to the point where where you know,
- 44:34he's just like, all right, you know, stop, stop.
- 44:36He's already dead. But, and he, he was, he was
- 44:40like, he was like, oh, well, you know, tell where are you ranking
- 44:43Man United players this year? And I was like, there's probably
- 44:47going to be 3 in the first round and four within the 1st 2
- 44:52rounds. And he's like, what?
- 44:55I was like, started listening to players.
- 44:56I was like, OK, Bruno Fernandez, Brian Umbomo, Matthias Cunha,
- 45:00Amad Diallo, Where where would you take him?
- 45:04And he's like, yeah, I guess. Yeah.
- 45:05OK. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 45:07So I mean, this is the year if you.
- 45:08But you can't stack those guys. There's no way to stack all.
- 45:10Of them, no you maybe you could maybe get 2 if you really lucky
- 45:14if like you know, you could get Cunha Diallo or Buembo Diallo
- 45:17maybe, but that's about it. I'm going to say the same thing
- 45:21I said last year. They can't do worse than they
- 45:23did last season. They they can't.
- 45:26They have to go higher than was it.
- 45:29I think they got 15 for the end, didn't they?
- 45:30Yeah. Wait, and you said the same
- 45:32thing last year. Good.
- 45:33They said the same thing because they because they came twelve.
- 45:36I was like, can't get any worse. Keep saying it because
- 45:40relegation has to happen soon. Oh, I'd fucking love it.
- 45:43It's what they get by having a leaky fucking roof.
- 45:46Throw your shit out. Best club in the world, my ass.
- 45:49All right, there you go. After after that 24 Gibbs White,
- 45:53I don't hate it. I know how.
- 45:55You know, I think he had a little bit of a from a points
- 45:57perspective, he didn't have his best season last year, but I
- 45:59think, you know, he's a he's a likable guy.
- 46:03You know, I think you're you're rooting for him.
- 46:05And then 25 Dwight McNeil. I feel like this is the first
- 46:07year I've seen him getting the respect he finally deserves from
- 46:11on draft boards all. Right, so here's where I can be
- 46:13honest with you. Yeah, this is where I can be
- 46:15honest with you. So that was me.
- 46:17I took Dwight McNeil after Brian Obomo, and I was hoping that
- 46:21either of Ahmad Diallo or Morgan Gibbs White would fall to me.
- 46:24And that's just it. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:27It's not bad though. Dwight Dwight McNeil?
- 46:30Was he 2425 in his prime? He's so much younger than he
- 46:33he's so much younger than he looks When he's I think of
- 46:36driving deal, I think he's like a 28 year old, you know, and he
- 46:39he. Didn't get to play.
- 46:40Yeah, he does. And he didn't get to play with,
- 46:42yeah, he didn't get to play with Moise that much.
- 46:45And I think he'll work in this moist thing, so.
- 46:49I think he will too. If you look at his stats, if you
- 46:52look at his stats to start the the last season, I mean, he was
- 46:55he was on track for, I mean not record setting, but he was on
- 46:59track for like one of those famous draft seasons.
- 47:01Like, yeah, I had in, I had in leagues and I was so smug.
- 47:05I was so smug. Yeah, you were so smug.
- 47:07You were a smug ball. And then and then I held on to
- 47:10him way too long because there was such a the injury was so
- 47:12uncertain for so long. And I just like, there's no way
- 47:14I was going to drop him and let someone else get him.
- 47:16So I held on to him for a disgusting amount of the season.
- 47:20I'll, I'll do the next one, Keith.
- 47:23OK, 26. 26 was Obi Wan Iwobi. I picked him up last season in
- 47:30the sixth round I believe. Beautiful pick, gets those Obi
- 47:34Wan like Jedi mind trick fucking points.
- 47:37I fucking love him. OK.
- 47:39But in the second round, do you still feel that way?
- 47:41I don't. Nope.
- 47:42I I think this is one of the ones.
- 47:43That's a big one. I think there's certain times
- 47:48where you when you look at a draft and you go you are
- 47:51drafting him for the absolute top, top, top of what is
- 47:56realistically possible. Well, this is 1 where it's like
- 47:59that's this is the absolute best case scenario for him as he
- 48:02maybe ends up around here at the end of the year.
- 48:03And I just don't like on a team like Fulham that's not as
- 48:06consistent. I just don't think that that's
- 48:08this is the the best that that spot for him.
- 48:10Well, the the tell that this guy, I don't know who picks Evan
- 48:13was, but I I love where he's at, but the five out of the next six
- 48:16players I would have picked right right before him in my
- 48:20opinion. Interesting.
- 48:22All right. So can we agree that last year
- 48:24was basically a banner year for a Wobi?
- 48:27Like, I mean, it was, it was the best you could possibly expect
- 48:31him to do, right? Yep.
- 48:32Mm hmm, I hopefully agree. And his points per start was
- 48:3511.2, which puts him just beneath players like Beto Dejan,
- 48:41Kulacewski, Dominic Sobuslai, Dango Watara, Harvey Barnes,
- 48:47Mats Wiefer, Yankuba Mente, Pedro Poro, etcetera.
- 48:52Yeah, so not not elite, not like that highest tier of players.
- 48:56The other thing too with Iwobi is I think he's another name
- 48:58that comes up if you look at XG over performers.
- 49:01I don't think he's quite as high as Diallo, but I think he was he
- 49:03had a pretty high over performance on XG as well.
- 49:07So that's 127. This is this is one I've been
- 49:11really struggling with on where to where to rank him is Omar
- 49:13Marmoush. And I think so much of it is
- 49:15just where he fits into the team and if he's gonna be a rotation
- 49:19piece or if him and Holland are gonna play in like a kind of a
- 49:22strike force up top together. And I feel like as pre season
- 49:26kicks on and we see a little more, I'll probably get a little
- 49:29a little more knowledge. But like as of right now in the
- 49:31Club World Cup, like they haven't, you know, they the last
- 49:34few games they haven't started together.
- 49:36So I don't know what that means. But I'm just it's I'm a little
- 49:40nervous by that one. Kara Matoma 28 and then Ollie
- 49:43Watkins 29. I have Ollie Watkins higher than
- 49:46this. I think I would have taken Ollie
- 49:47Watkins ahead of a few of these names here.
- 49:49I think Marmoush for sure, or will be for sure.
- 49:53And then arguably, you know, I think he's close to that Dwight
- 49:56McGill Gibbs white range for me. It's funny you say that because
- 49:59my rankings go McNeil, Watkins, Gibbs, White, but that's
- 50:0217/18/19. Funny, Yeah, Yeah.
- 50:04And then Luis Diaz, who we talked about, I mean, to me,
- 50:07this is a little bit of a drop if he stays, like I think you'd
- 50:11be stoked to get Luis Diaz here. A. 100%.
- 50:14Yeah, 100%. And then this next.
- 50:16Year, You're on track to winning this draft if you did.
- 50:18Yeah, the next 1 I actually wanted to spend a little bit of
- 50:21time on because Kyle Haver's at 2:11 and I just think the amount
- 50:25of noise around Arsenal getting a striker makes me feel like I I
- 50:29could never draft Kyle Haver to Yeah.
- 50:30He fucked me a lot. Because I think, you know, and I
- 50:32think it's also one of those ones that even if nothing
- 50:35changes between now and my draft, I still think that you're
- 50:39in danger of someone coming in at the end of the window and
- 50:42actually screwing your team over.
- 50:44Can we wait? Look at this pause.
- 50:45We're talking about Arsenal buying a striker.
- 50:49We're talking about that for three seasons.
- 50:51Here we go. Here we go.
- 50:52So the ultimate buying a striker is probably not going to bloody
- 50:55happen. You're going to see Kai Havers
- 50:57playing again up front. I think they will.
- 50:59I think they will. I think they will.
- 51:01I mean, I think they will too, but yeah, I know you mean.
- 51:06They're gonna buy. They're gonna buy a Championship
- 51:08striker. Remember when May and I did
- 51:10that? What was his name?
- 51:11Play for Watford, I think it was.
- 51:14Not then, not then. Weghorst.
- 51:17Yeah, there you go. That's what they're gonna get.
- 51:20And they'll say boom, league done second in the back.
- 51:24That was amazing. Oh my God.
- 51:27Yeah. So that's my concern with
- 51:28Harvard's. I think he falls quite far
- 51:30because of that for me. Not quite far, but farther down
- 51:33for me. Yeah, I mean, Ryan's argument
- 51:35for this one is that unless he didn't take him here, he even he
- 51:40thought this was a little bit early.
- 51:41But his argument is that essentially Arteta loves him and
- 51:48he's versatile. He can be used all over the
- 51:50pitch, that he can slot in in midfield, he can spell players
- 51:56that need to rest. And then also we'll start at
- 52:00striker regardless of who they sign.
- 52:03But I've already said I think if it's Yogaraj I think it's less,
- 52:06and if it's Cesco, I think it's more.
- 52:08Yeah, that great fair. And I think that with that role
- 52:13and a team, even a really good team, and I think Kai is a
- 52:17pretty good player. So to me, that's like fifth
- 52:19round, you know what I mean? Like I really, I just really do
- 52:24if, like if, if you're really if, if, if you know he's gonna
- 52:27be the starter, then I, I'm very OK with it.
- 52:30But not knowing that to me is just.
- 52:33I'm just really off it. I feel you.
- 52:35I won't get I won't get him either.
- 52:36And you won't saying that fifth round, you're not gonna.
- 52:38Get it? No, of course not.
- 52:40But all right, 12 to Anthony Gordon and then on the turn.
- 52:44So this was was Ryan one, right? Yeah, Ryan was.
- 52:47One, so then he went Gordon on and then Martin Odegard 31.
- 52:50So this was an interesting draft choice that he took, which is
- 52:53got 3 minutes, which is kind of kind of fun.
- 52:58I think he regretted it later, I think.
- 53:00But you know what, you know what show in the in past seasons, So
- 53:04I guess we haven't talked about this yet, but one of the things
- 53:06that you guys did is that you suggested a but a few different
- 53:09players get pushed up to forward, right?
- 53:11Yeah. Or no, sorry.
- 53:13Push to push back to mid, Push back to mid.
- 53:15Yep. So what what what that looks
- 53:17like is that now there's a little bit more of a balance
- 53:20between forwards and mids, correct.
- 53:22Well, hopefully. Yeah, ideally, ideally.
- 53:25That was ideally that was the idea.
- 53:27So, but then the further we got into this draft, we were like,
- 53:30oh man, mid is like super deep. And so we've kind of left
- 53:35ourselves hoping that more forwards would come into the
- 53:38league. The reason we do this is because
- 53:40when we recommend these changes to fan tracks, we say, hey, you
- 53:44know, when players come into the league, more often than not,
- 53:47Opta, which is the stats keeping company, whatever that fan
- 53:52tracks uses, Opta recommends that they go in as forwards.
- 53:55So we see a lot of those players come in as forwards, even if
- 53:59they're like wingers, we see them come in as forwards.
- 54:01So we're hoping that that happens and meanwhile now we've
- 54:05got, you know, kind of a boosted midfield, but now forward does
- 54:09feel a little bit light, I'll be honest.
- 54:11Must go and buy what what the next pick up was.
- 54:15Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, yeah, good,
- 54:18good. Good to know.
- 54:19But then I guess the next picks are three, two.
- 54:20Johann Wissa, what do you think about this pick?
- 54:22Because to me, this is another one where it's you're kind of
- 54:25drafting him on performance last year and not necessarily on
- 54:29projection for the year ahead. That that's a concern for me
- 54:34because I mean like love with side, obviously a great player,
- 54:36but I just without Guemo there, without Thomas Frank there, new
- 54:40coach. I don't know what that's gonna
- 54:41look like. I don't know.
- 54:42The system's gonna be. I just died.
- 54:45He's just a little not sure about that.
- 54:47Has some new coaches come out yet?
- 54:49Have they gone my new coach? No, they're.
- 54:51Saying it's gonna be. They're saying it's gonna be
- 54:53the. Pochettino.
- 54:54The the no the assistant, whoever that assistant.
- 54:57Oh, interesting. It's gonna be assistant.
- 54:59OK. Which they, that's what they did
- 55:02with Frank, right? And they?
- 55:03Yeah. They got fire in a bottle.
- 55:07So, yeah, I mean, with God, the man's a machine, honestly.
- 55:12I mean, he really is. The problem is he does not get
- 55:16ghost points. And so with Imbomo missing, I
- 55:20wonder what that looks like. I'm encouraged by the way that
- 55:24Shada ended the season. I'm encouraged by the season
- 55:28that Damsgard had. I feel like if they can bolster
- 55:31a little bit in attack that hopefully that you know, he'll
- 55:33be able to not replicate what he did.
- 55:36But because if you're if you're drafting on his last season,
- 55:39you're going to take him in the second round.
- 55:41So this is already a bit of a correction if you right, if you
- 55:44want to be kind of honest about that, I guess.
- 55:46Right. Yeah, but then you go look at
- 55:50you just said Damsgard there. I heard Norgaard might be out
- 55:53the door. I'm just worried that a few of
- 55:56their key pieces that creative players like Sade's not going
- 55:59nowhere. Loves Sade but if Norgard goes
- 56:03or even at dam like Damgard's a freaking baller.
- 56:06He shouldn't be playing at Brentford.
- 56:07But we'll see. But I just don't know if Wisher
- 56:09can do it on his own. Yeah, I think that's the
- 56:12concern. Shot us a forward now too, by
- 56:14the way, which is awesome. Snap.
- 56:16He he kind of felt like a cheat kind of felt like a cheat code
- 56:19as a mid last year because he was kind of he was he was one of
- 56:21the ones that I like sighed and I was like that one makes sense.
- 56:23Same with Bowen. I was like these are fair.
- 56:25Yep, adjustments, Yep yeah, next, next name 33 Yakuba Minta.
- 56:30This one is also interesting to me because I think like same
- 56:33with Amanda where he the points per start are good and like he
- 56:38has so many things that he does, like his dribbles and like his
- 56:40baseline is so high, but he only had 17 starts last season,
- 56:43right? And to me that's just a little
- 56:46too few of starts to justify this.
- 56:49And even if like and I guess the idea is that he's going to kick
- 56:51on and you're just being really optimistic that he gets more
- 56:53game time this year. Is that kind of what the thought
- 56:55process is? I think that's a thought
- 56:57process. I'm, I'm also concerned, I hate
- 57:00the rotation there. It's, it's madding.
- 57:02It's absolutely madding. As somebody who rostered Matoma
- 57:04last year, I mean, it's just, it's just madding.
- 57:09I agree. I know this is one of the
- 57:10players that Ryan had mentioned when he you know, he he's the
- 57:13nickname the wood whisperer. You know how he called out Wood
- 57:16last season, but he also. On our draft, yeah.
- 57:18Yeah, but he also called out Minter also, you know, even
- 57:21coming from Newcastle. But yeah, he looks like a good
- 57:24player. But like you said, the rotation
- 57:26at Brian is is murderous. It's terrible.
- 57:29Yeah, that's the concern and I think, you know that.
- 57:33I think that's the other reason why the job pager thing, it was
- 57:35like anywhere but there. You know, I think Mita falls
- 57:38into that same thing where I think if a lot of other teams,
- 57:40like if if Newcastle had been able to hold on to him, you
- 57:43know, if they had just been able to do a loan and got him back
- 57:45this year, you think that he'd be an elite player.
- 57:49You know a. 100% yeah. The the one position that they
- 57:53desperately need and they decide let's go ahead and just we'll
- 57:57just sell him. No big deal.
- 57:59He never even put on a Newcastle jersey, so it's fucking
- 58:02ridiculous. Well, it's, it's really, it's
- 58:04not their fault, even Newcastle, because it was, it was a PSR
- 58:06thing. They had to do it at the last
- 58:07minute to not get zapped by PSR. So it's just such a, it's just,
- 58:10it's, it's a yelling at the gods of PSR and not so much Newcastle
- 58:15there. Yeah, I don't feel bad for the
- 58:16Saudis. Sorry.
- 58:17I. Was gonna say oh, you just like
- 58:20pay the same lawyers that see yeah, see he's got.
- 58:23The true yeah, that's true. Or find the same accountants
- 58:26that Chelsea has is. That the whole what you mean
- 58:29you're doing like Dodger deals like 10 years?
- 58:31I just don't get paid for like 20 years.
- 58:33Selling, selling the women's team to ourselves, you know, so.
- 58:36Yeah. Do you see?
- 58:37Did you see Alison Villas doing the exact same thing?
- 58:39Really. Yeah, they're doing the exact
- 58:41same thing. Yeah.
- 58:42Classic. I love it.
- 58:44First they get pissed at us and they start copying at us.
- 58:46Yeah, Oh my God. OK, so 3-4 Declan Rice a little
- 58:51early for me. I thought Enzo has had a good
- 58:53theory about him kind of kicking on and he's he's a really
- 58:56Goodyear. Was Zuba Mendi there thinking
- 58:58that he's gonna play more advanced?
- 59:00He's a false 9. Four years.
- 59:02He's not. A false 9.
- 59:04He's a false 9. He's.
- 59:05A false, I don't know what he's a false.
- 59:07He's not a false no. No, no, sorry, not a false 9.
- 59:09He's a false 10. He's he plays up, he plays in
- 59:12the middle. That's what he can.
- 59:14That's what it was. He's a false 10.
- 59:15He's he can be attacking. There's over many there.
- 59:17He's and I hate this. I'm I'm a top fan.
- 59:19I fucking hate it, but I love I love deckers.
- 59:21If he can get the ball and if he can learn how to turn on the
- 59:25half turn, he's going to be freaking ridiculous.
- 59:27That's the only thing he's got against it.
- 59:28He can carry the ball and he can set up play corners.
- 59:32I think he's gonna get a few more, few more free kicks off
- 59:34the way he did the Real Madrid and we'll see how it goes.
- 59:36Arsenal midfielders are going to frustrate you like they they
- 59:39just are from time to time. Like Odegard will have stretches
- 59:43of three games where he doesn't score more than 5.
- 59:47Martinelli, same thing. Like when you look at Rice and
- 59:50the way that he ended the season, 1019 point
- 59:532518.501713.5, it's incredible. But that zero in 90 minutes
- 1:00:01against Crystal Palace is wild. But regardless, I mean, that's
- 1:00:05that's a pretty epic end of the season.
- 1:00:07And if that's what he's going to look like starting this season,
- 1:00:10then it's hard not to buy in. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:13Fair enough. After that 35 Pedro Netto, we
- 1:00:16kind of talked about him at the top of the show.
- 1:00:18Yeah, I don't I don't hate it. I think it's optimistic that
- 1:00:21he's going to be playing every game.
- 1:00:22But I think he has the pedigree and I like I, I can't really
- 1:00:25blame anyone for for taking that three six well.
- 1:00:29Hold on real quick, real quick, Keith.
- 1:00:30So also as you say that, just do me a favor and look at the the
- 1:00:34forwards that are left available.
- 1:00:35Yeah, yeah, yeah, It's a really good point.
- 1:00:38I'm looking at this. What?
- 1:00:39It's Son who who knows what's going to happen there, and Jon
- 1:00:42Pedro who knows Jimenez, Mateta Solanke.
- 1:00:48But there's and. You're going in the Yeah.
- 1:00:50You can feel the drop off. Yeah.
- 1:00:52You can feel it. Oh.
- 1:00:55Yeah, and what Madoeke is now a mid, huh?
- 1:00:59Yeah, Savio Savio's now a mid. Yep, yeah, yeah, Madoeke was
- 1:01:03Savio. Oh, he wasn't.
- 1:01:04Is now a mid. Yep, yes, yeah.
- 1:01:07I mean, that's a really good point.
- 1:01:08That's a really good point, Joe, that that that drop off is scary
- 1:01:11and that's there's not much there that this almost makes me
- 1:01:14feel like going for a forward, an elite first round forward.
- 1:01:17It seems like a must in the 1st 2:00.
- 1:01:19So pick two goes Salah, Haverts, Whisa.
- 1:01:23I'll be curious to see what you guys think about their midfield,
- 1:01:26you know, going forward. And then, of course, pick 12
- 1:01:30goes Semenyo Bowen, and then we'll get to their pick.
- 1:01:32But yeah, yeah. Yeah, that looks.
- 1:01:38Good. Yeah.
- 1:01:38So then 36 Anthony Robinson. I actually think I'm not mad at
- 1:01:42this pic. I think it's pretty good.
- 1:01:44This person got a claim in the chat for getting value there.
- 1:01:49Yeah, totally. I think I might have been the
- 1:01:51one that gave that a claim, actually.
- 1:01:52Was that you? Yeah.
- 1:01:54But I, I just think that, like, Muniz and Robinson, to me,
- 1:01:57aren't that far apart as far as like what their potential are.
- 1:02:01Robinson at 11 assists or 10 assists.
- 1:02:03Robinson. Munez had what, six goals, 4
- 1:02:06assists? I think Anthony Robinson has
- 1:02:09some of the best. Like, you know, she's such a
- 1:02:12good just gets up and down the field the same way Munez says.
- 1:02:14I just don't see that much daylight between them as far as
- 1:02:18potential. So I think getting him in the
- 1:02:21sixth round is amazing value compared to Munez in the first.
- 1:02:24Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:26And then who were talking about a minute ago, Damsgard 37.
- 1:02:30Pretty, pretty good. So I'm not at it.
- 1:02:32Yeah. I think it's that's appropriate.
- 1:02:34Yeah, Kulasefsky 3/8 So I, I just.
- 1:02:37Felt my feelings all right. Enzo, I need positive or
- 1:02:41negative. I need to talk to you about
- 1:02:42this. Yeah, OK.
- 1:02:44This was my pick Enzo. So my my question for you is so
- 1:02:49that Damsgard role in the frank system, who takes it?
- 1:02:53Is it so I so I OK, so I I took this pick on the on the
- 1:03:01supposition that Kuleski takes that Damsgard role.
- 1:03:06I believe the same thing. That's value.
- 1:03:09That is definitely value. That's why I'm upset that he got
- 1:03:12picked in the third round. Oh, you want him to fall more to
- 1:03:16you? I see.
- 1:03:16What are what are the chances like?
- 1:03:18You don't think there's any chance Madison takes that role?
- 1:03:21That's the other one. That's the other one that it
- 1:03:23could do. But if you look at the way
- 1:03:25Damsgard plays, I think Kuleshevsky can play that better
- 1:03:30with more carrying the ball, the way he the way he protects the
- 1:03:33ball. If he can just get that pass
- 1:03:35along, which I think there'll be more runs into the box compared
- 1:03:39to with, you know, big Ange, rest in peace.
- 1:03:43I think Krasinski could be more creative and that he he's going
- 1:03:47to be big this year. Just hope so.
- 1:03:50That's big. Yeah, that was my thinking
- 1:03:51there. Yeah.
- 1:03:53I mean, I think with that, so all that being said, I, I don't
- 1:03:57hate it. I, I think to me it's just, it's
- 1:03:59just that that uncertainty, it's not a locked in thing that he's
- 1:04:01guaranteed that position and we won't really know until the
- 1:04:03season starts, you know, if it is him or if it is Madison that
- 1:04:07kind of locks that in. So that's that's where I get
- 1:04:09nervous. I just get nervous, you know?
- 1:04:11No, I get that Keith. Are there mids taken after that
- 1:04:14that you would rather have? I mean, looking at it, I might
- 1:04:19go Foden just on just on the on the upside that that's there,
- 1:04:24you know, and just the fact that I I think that Foden's a good
- 1:04:27enough player that that one bad season, I could see him coming
- 1:04:30back and being delivering second value pretty easily, especially
- 1:04:34with KDB gone. Yeah, and I think after that, I
- 1:04:39get it. Like there's no one that stands
- 1:04:41out as, you know, super, super exciting so.
- 1:04:45Did Chucky, I mean did Chucky get picked up?
- 1:04:49Yeah, he's at 5:11. Yeah, he's later.
- 1:04:53And I mean that. That to me is one that's such a
- 1:04:55dice roll. Like that could be a such a high
- 1:04:57reward pick, but it's also with in a City team where there's so
- 1:05:01much rotation, it's so hard to really know kind of what that's
- 1:05:03going to look like. I mean, I I just wrote an
- 1:05:05article about the the effects of the Club World Cup on draft
- 1:05:10fantasy assets and one of the things that stood out was that
- 1:05:14Turkey has only played 30% of the minutes available at the
- 1:05:18Club World Cup. Yep, doesn't surprise me.
- 1:05:21I mean, it's Pep's so funny cuz for years it was like, oh, Pep's
- 1:05:24gonna, he takes a while to bed players in and then maybe last
- 1:05:27year if there's like or certain players all of a sudden it feels
- 1:05:29like now he just throws them in right away and they play a ton
- 1:05:31of minutes. Then you don't see them again
- 1:05:33for like 2 months. Yeah, you know, it's so he's so
- 1:05:35fickle. It's like you can't really ever
- 1:05:37get a sense of how he how he's gonna do things.
- 1:05:40So that that's to me where the hold up is there.
- 1:05:42He's a genius. Yeah. 39 Morgan Rogers goes not
- 1:05:48mad at it. And then 310 Phil Foden.
- 1:05:51Morgan Rogers is interesting to me because I think a lot of his
- 1:05:53value is in that he's going to improve.
- 1:05:56You know, like he had a he had a good season, but what's his
- 1:05:59points were starting were exceptional.
- 1:06:01He's one of the most frustrating fantasy assets you can ever get
- 1:06:04in bed with. I I would highly recommend
- 1:06:07nobody if if you are at all irritable, I would say do not
- 1:06:12draft Morgan Rogers. You're going to be so frustrated
- 1:06:15by this man. That's.
- 1:06:17Well, yeah. And that that that is that just
- 1:06:19a inconsistency thing. So there's.
- 1:06:21Yeah, yeah, he's going to. Yeah, he's going to score.
- 1:06:23He's going to score 35 one week when you didn't actually need
- 1:06:26him to because you were already winning, and then the next week
- 1:06:28is going to get you .5 when he was, you know, the last match up
- 1:06:32of the game week and you needed him to win.
- 1:06:33I mean, Morgan Rogers points per start 9.5 that's that's not
- 1:06:37really that great. What do you think about it?
- 1:06:40Right. It's like, so yeah, I, I
- 1:06:42totally, I I'm not mad. I totally get that.
- 1:06:45I totally got your shot there, but.
- 1:06:46I would I would 10 times out of 10 have gone tila months in
- 1:06:50that. Situation tila months I think.
- 1:06:52I just saw him right there. I feel like he dropped a little
- 1:06:55bit and I think it's cuz he's not as sexy as some of the other
- 1:06:57midfielders. You know, he's a little bit more
- 1:06:58of that kind of efficient midfielder, kind of does both
- 1:07:01sides of the work, you know, works on both sides of the ball
- 1:07:04and stuff. And people just tend to kind of
- 1:07:05overlook those types of mids. So 310 Foden, then 311 Son.
- 1:07:10And I think this is such an interesting one too, because
- 1:07:12it's just about what he's going to be, you know, what he's going
- 1:07:15to be, what his role is in this Tottenham team.
- 1:07:17Tell a cento. It's like he's getting older.
- 1:07:21I love Sonny, you know, I mean, I love him.
- 1:07:23I love him, love him, love him. But he doesn't run at players
- 1:07:27anymore. I don't know if that's just the
- 1:07:28coach. And I think it might have been
- 1:07:30lost the last couple season of Avenge.
- 1:07:32You didn't see the runs they used to make.
- 1:07:33He doesn't cut inside, doesn't take the long shots, but he
- 1:07:37still had a good season last season.
- 1:07:39But under Thomas Frank, I don't know what he's going to be.
- 1:07:45Is he going to do what and Bwenbo did?
- 1:07:48Is he going to do what Whisa did?
- 1:07:49I don't. Think about the wingers under
- 1:07:52Frank. Yeah, I mean, it's mouth
- 1:07:54watering. It is, but he hasn't done it for
- 1:07:57two years. I don't know if he's got it
- 1:07:59still, if he's got the leg. In his worst year of all time,
- 1:08:04in his worst year of all time, he was 318 fantasy points, 10.6
- 1:08:10points per game. I don't have the points per
- 1:08:11start in front of me, but but yeah, that's that's not bad.
- 1:08:15No, it's not bad. I agree.
- 1:08:17I think. I think it's just a matter of if
- 1:08:18he, it's a matter of him, like potentially leaving 12. .1
- 1:08:22points per start. And it's worse, Yeah.
- 1:08:24I mean, even last year, people were so people were so
- 1:08:26disappointed in him. And when you really look at the
- 1:08:27numbers, you go, that wasn't that bad at all.
- 1:08:29It's pretty good. Yeah.
- 1:08:30It. Wasn't it's, I guess what that
- 1:08:32point it's, it's .1 ahead of Eberici Eze, Yeah.
- 1:08:37Who goes in the first round? Yeah.
- 1:08:40I mean, that might be one that's a like kind of a not like a
- 1:08:43sleeper, but like a value pick for where you're gonna, where
- 1:08:45he's gonna drop in drafts. It's a really good shot
- 1:08:47actually. Well, I'm a sucker like the top
- 1:08:49of them players so of. Course you are.
- 1:08:52Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if Kudos goes there then
- 1:08:55without effects on. No play on the right.
- 1:08:58They both want to come up. Kudos plays on the right, I
- 1:09:00think. Oh yeah, I guess you are right.
- 1:09:01No. Kudos plays on the right, he'll
- 1:09:02take over Bart Simpson on the right hand side.
- 1:09:06Brendan Rodgers. Yeah, Brendan Ross.
- 1:09:08Brendan Brendan Rodgers. He does.
- 1:09:11He does have a little, he does have a has a little Simpson
- 1:09:13Levada. We've talked about that sort of
- 1:09:15our shout out. It's the teeth, man.
- 1:09:18It's the teeth. Just thinking about Brendan
- 1:09:21Rodgers still trying to play football at this amazing, all
- 1:09:26right. OK, 312 Tavern A This one was
- 1:09:29really weird, right? Was that?
- 1:09:31Yeah. Is there anything else that you
- 1:09:32can say? All right, 12th pick was Toddy
- 1:09:34and he was just on one like he I told people not to try to blow
- 1:09:40up this draft with weird picks, but as you can.
- 1:09:43See if. If you look at his team, he was
- 1:09:47just swinging for the fences. Like he he wrote an article
- 1:09:51years ago called Drafting for First or Last, meaning like you
- 1:09:56don't draft, you know, you don't draft your like, let me just
- 1:09:59pick a player like you don't draft Ryan Christie, right?
- 1:10:02Instead, you draft somebody who potentially has a chance of
- 1:10:05blowing up and absolutely winning you a leak.
- 1:10:08So that is his kind of that's his, that's his approach here.
- 1:10:13And yeah, it got a little bit wild at times, so.
- 1:10:16It's like, it's like the the Ricky Bobby approach.
- 1:10:18You might say it's more. Like your last.
- 1:10:22No, I think it's more like the hope kills you.
- 1:10:26About two. So his probably his best week is
- 1:10:28the week before the game start a lot of times.
- 1:10:30Right, Right, right. All right.
- 1:10:33So in the interest of time, I'm not sure Joe, where you're at,
- 1:10:35but if you kind of if we just want to maybe just kind of pick
- 1:10:37and choose some names here instead of going through
- 1:10:39everything you think? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:41Yeah, no, you're good. I got, I mean, I got, I got
- 1:10:42time. But we can also Fast forward
- 1:10:44whatever you want to. Do yeah, maybe we just do that
- 1:10:47so that we don't, you know, we could stay here for four more
- 1:10:49hours. Yeah, totally the best.
- 1:10:51OK, One question for me is the Savio and Doku situation.
- 1:10:56And not so much because they play the same position, but so
- 1:10:58much that they both are wingers and they both had really high
- 1:11:01points for starts and are every single time they start start a
- 1:11:04game, you need to play them, but they don't.
- 1:11:06They didn't start a consistent enough amount of games.
- 1:11:09Do you feel like is that does that hurting their fantasy
- 1:11:11value? And I'm surprised at the
- 1:11:13distance between them because to me they're almost like
- 1:11:15back-to-back and drafts because it's just like, you just don't
- 1:11:17know kind of what goes where, what goes where.
- 1:11:21I drafted Savio here because I thought he would have been good
- 1:11:25for more minutes than Doku, and I still think that's probably
- 1:11:31true, but it's maybe negligible. If I can nerd out on you for a
- 1:11:35second, like I told you, I wrote that Club World Cup article.
- 1:11:38So what we're seeing from Pep is a crazy new system where
- 1:11:43basically on offense, they are running like a 136 where
- 1:11:51literally all of the attackers are pushed up as far as they
- 1:11:54possibly can on the defensive line.
- 1:11:57And then their midfielders, if you want to call them that, are
- 1:12:02dropping into space to kind of receive the ball.
- 1:12:06So these are going to be your Photons, your Gundo ones, your
- 1:12:09Silvas, your Rinders, etcetera. So they're dropping in and then
- 1:12:14all the other players are just making runs, cutting in.
- 1:12:18I mean, it's, it's crazy. And it is like balls to the
- 1:12:21wall. I think they're going to score a
- 1:12:23buck ton of goals this year. I fucking told you, Keith, he
- 1:12:27was going to do something fucking crazy.
- 1:12:29I fucking told you he's going to play center, mid by center, back
- 1:12:32to the midfielders. I fucking knew it.
- 1:12:35I, I like it. I mean, I, I had Savio last year
- 1:12:38and Tiko Doki last year and we both, I mean, the headache is
- 1:12:41just not knowing they're going to start games.
- 1:12:44Yeah, we we have. AI think that's a concern?
- 1:12:47Yeah, we have a senses among the three of us that we don't like
- 1:12:49waking up at 4:30 to see that. I think that's, yeah, exactly.
- 1:12:53It's a legitimate concern as a West Coast viewer too, that that
- 1:12:56is actually something you really need to consider.
- 1:12:58It's like, do I really want to be waking up at 4:00 in the
- 1:13:01morning like 100% out of the month to to make it to see if
- 1:13:05this guy's playing or not? Yeah.
- 1:13:07So, but I mean, I think just it's about if you were if you
- 1:13:10knew they're guaranteed 25 plus starts.
- 1:13:14I think they're no brainer, you know?
- 1:13:16Yeah, no brainer. It's a little concerning, but.
- 1:13:18But if I'm you guys on the West Coast, maybe I take Tila ones
- 1:13:21there instead. Yeah, totally.
- 1:13:23I think that's fair. Another name James Murphy here.
- 1:13:27Like my concern, I keep trying to say this to Enzo Tico and
- 1:13:30they don't seem to be getting it to me as much as that's
- 1:13:33concerned, is that the amount of interest Newcastle has in all
- 1:13:36these right sided attackers. It makes me think that they they
- 1:13:40don't have a lot of faith that Murphy is going to be that guy,
- 1:13:42the guy for like a whole another year.
- 1:13:44So I I'm concerned someone's going to come in.
- 1:13:46No. And that's why I have a hard
- 1:13:48time drafting Murphy in this spot.
- 1:13:52Dude, Charlie Murphy is a fucking bowler.
- 1:13:55James Murphy. No, Yeah.
- 1:13:56But I'm calling him Charlie Murphy.
- 1:13:59The way he plays on that right hand side, the creativeness, I
- 1:14:02know he was a little bit inconsistent.
- 1:14:03I think that was what I was looking for a little bit more
- 1:14:05from him, but I don't see, I told you guys he's he's in
- 1:14:09Europe, so they're going to rotate.
- 1:14:11I just don't know if he's going to play in Europe or the league.
- 1:14:12But my, my guess is if they get someone that's, you know, higher
- 1:14:15class, he's going to get rotated.
- 1:14:17But I still think Murphy's a big piece, especially in the fourth
- 1:14:20round. I think that's a great thing.
- 1:14:21Not for me. Yeah, I, I mean, it was such an
- 1:14:26amazing story last year, right? Just how well he came on and how
- 1:14:29good he did. And he, he's probably someone
- 1:14:31that won. So if you picked him up off
- 1:14:33waivers, he won you leagues. He won people leagues last year
- 1:14:35totally. But yeah, I think that's my
- 1:14:37concern too. It's just is it is that was that
- 1:14:40the future was that are you dropping him off, you know, a
- 1:14:43little bit of what happened last year and is and then how
- 1:14:46realistic is that? I mean, they're, they're
- 1:14:48actively shopping for, right? Wingers, yeah.
- 1:14:51And, and I just generally like if I'm looking at the players
- 1:14:54that are available, I'm I'm going to take Clivet ahead of
- 1:14:57him. I know he ended the year
- 1:14:58terribly, but still, I'm going to take Clivet ahead of him.
- 1:15:01I'm going to take Doku ahead of him.
- 1:15:03I'm going to take Sobuslie ahead of him.
- 1:15:05Yeah, that's maybe even Mcal's. I don't know, maybe.
- 1:15:11OK, what about Chris Wood dropping to 5 seven?
- 1:15:14I think we've talked about this and when you were talking about
- 1:15:17your players to avoid, he was the one I was thinking of.
- 1:15:19Everything you were describing was streaming Chris Wood to me.
- 1:15:21Where? It's well, he.
- 1:15:22He was the one. You know, he was the one I was
- 1:15:24going to bring up in terms of XG over performance.
- 1:15:27Yeah, that's you. Have you looked?
- 1:15:30He he scored, he scored twenty goals, he over performed his XG
- 1:15:36by almost 4.5. Yeah.
- 1:15:40I mean think of how that what affected his fantasy scores.
- 1:15:42Absolutely. And also just, I think the thing
- 1:15:44about force is like they over performed every X metric, you
- 1:15:48know? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:49Conceded X points. It was just, yeah.
- 1:15:51So I think it's a little bit of lightning in a bottle there to
- 1:15:55some extent, so. And now did they?
- 1:15:58Am I wrong? Did they have Conference League?
- 1:16:02They do. So they're gonna have Thursday
- 1:16:04nights in Uzbekistan. Yeah.
- 1:16:08You know about that kid? And and Chris Woods, yes, I do.
- 1:16:12I know about that trophy too though, so I'll.
- 1:16:14Take this. Absolutely.
- 1:16:15You had to round up the trophy cabinet.
- 1:16:17Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I got Europa.
- 1:16:18You'd be like Mourinho. Yeah.
- 1:16:20Never going back. I'll be getting the tattoo, you
- 1:16:22know, just like Maria. The three trophies, That trophy,
- 1:16:24Yeah, 3 trophies. So then right after that, so
- 1:16:28Chris Wood went 5-7. After that you took Liam de Lapp
- 1:16:31and then I then we kind of noticed and Sergey wanted us to
- 1:16:34bring up that then at 65, you took Nico Jackson.
- 1:16:37This was totally just a total handcuff situation, huh A?
- 1:16:39100% And of course, given this, given what happened yesterday, I
- 1:16:43would never do this again. Uh huh.
- 1:16:46But, or given what even what happened maybe a week ago with
- 1:16:48Jackson getting that red, it was.
- 1:16:50A red card game. Yeah, that second red in five
- 1:16:52games or whatever it was. Yep.
- 1:16:54But yeah, I actually, I, you know, obviously prior to that
- 1:16:57news, I really like the idea though.
- 1:16:59And I think this is something that people should do more in
- 1:17:01fantasy drafts is like protect your assets a little bit.
- 1:17:05I mean, you tell me. So like, would you rather have
- 1:17:08had, let's see, Kevin Schott already went Oh, God.
- 1:17:12OK, so would you rather have had Evan Nielsen?
- 1:17:15And what the fuck? Evan Nielsen and Strand Larson,
- 1:17:21two every week starters, 90 minutes versus Dilap and
- 1:17:27Jackson. It's an it's an honest question.
- 1:17:29I don't know what what my answer is.
- 1:17:32I I think if, if job pages out there, I think I might go to
- 1:17:37dilap Jackson because it's you're lucky in a position on an
- 1:17:39elite team, you know, elite, quote UN quote.
- 1:17:42But I think with the what the the value of Evan Nielsen and
- 1:17:45Trent Larson is that you it's just just more chance that one
- 1:17:48of them is going to pop, you know, yeah, you have a really
- 1:17:51good season. But I think at the end of the
- 1:17:53day, like the smart thing to do would probably just be lock in
- 1:17:55the Chelsea striker. Then then two guys that even as
- 1:17:59someone who likes Evan Nielsen, Strand Larsen and I think he had
- 1:18:02good moments last year, but obviously a little inconsistent.
- 1:18:05But I think getting that top position, I think I'd rather
- 1:18:07have that, yeah, personally. Are you, are you not in
- 1:18:11hindsight, do you kind of think opposite?
- 1:18:13I, I wrote a whole article on this.
- 1:18:14I mean, I, I did AI did an entire analysis of this draft
- 1:18:17and which people can look at on the, on the draft kit.
- 1:18:20But, but basically, yeah, I did regret it a little bit.
- 1:18:24I mean, if you look at my, my third forward was I waited until
- 1:18:29the 12th round to get for Lopez, who I don't even actually
- 1:18:32believe in all that much. So I, I, I'm just going to end
- 1:18:35up trotting out two forwards week in and week out, which is
- 1:18:38fine honestly. But you know, I, I think I would
- 1:18:41have rather, probably strengthened a little bit more.
- 1:18:45I think one of one of the midfielders I took in the 1st 7
- 1:18:49rounds I probably could have substituted for a forward.
- 1:18:52Fair enough, fair enough. Yeah.
- 1:18:54So I guess the the question is, is cuz these picks were so close
- 1:18:57together is what the problem is. So it's like maybe it's if
- 1:19:00you're getting Saka and you got in wary in the area like in the
- 1:19:0412th and that's that's like a really safe way to kind of
- 1:19:07protect your asset, right. But maybe it's maybe it's when
- 1:19:10it's guys too close. Like you wouldn't you wouldn't
- 1:19:12necessarily want to get Savio and Doku, you know, even though
- 1:19:16they they will yeah, so you wouldn't want to get them
- 1:19:19back-to-back, especially when they're going in drafts.
- 1:19:21So maybe maybe that that handcuff, it should be more of a
- 1:19:25like a first 3 rounds and then. I'm trying to think of another
- 1:19:30parallel to that like Enzo, would you ever consider drafting
- 1:19:34like a a handful of son Brendan Johnson and Matthias Tell?
- 1:19:40Together. Yeah, that's only from, only
- 1:19:42from Psycho I was. Going to say that seems silly,
- 1:19:46right? Like that's.
- 1:19:46Yeah, yeah, that doesn't. Yeah, I wouldn't.
- 1:19:48It's just because tell. We don't know what's going to
- 1:19:50get from him, but maybe Son and Solanke.
- 1:19:53Maybe because Solanke. What about what about Foden and
- 1:19:58they getting shirky in like the 6th?
- 1:20:00Or you know, if you have Foden the third and then Shirky in the
- 1:20:035th or something. Yeah.
- 1:20:05I mean the the question of course is always like, like who
- 1:20:09is, who's the handcuff to any position on city?
- 1:20:13Yeah, that's true. Like you've no, you've no idea.
- 1:20:17I mean, you know that Holland and Marmouche are, but you're
- 1:20:22not going to get them together unless you spend your second and
- 1:20:25third round pick. Which is suicide.
- 1:20:27Yeah, I wouldn't do that ever yeah, I mean, so it handcuffs, I
- 1:20:31think are they can be a poisoned chalice if if you don't do it
- 1:20:34right. Five and six.
- 1:20:35I I guess I was willing to to try it in this draft.
- 1:20:39I think looking back, I wouldn't do this in a real.
- 1:20:40Draft, Yeah, good, good to know. And then Speaking of 6/10 for in
- 1:20:45way in yare to me is way too high.
- 1:20:48Way too early. Insanely, insanely early.
- 1:20:51And that is he in 611? I'm sorry.
- 1:20:53Is he in also fan #3? It's the only way I could
- 1:20:56justify I. Can't remember who that was.
- 1:20:59You can't even justify it to be honest.
- 1:21:00No, it's I think Ryan at Noy at 611 is a really good value.
- 1:21:06I personally. I, I, I want to, I want to be
- 1:21:11careful how many times I say this out loud.
- 1:21:15He is going to be massive this year.
- 1:21:20Yeah. I, and I'm not going to
- 1:21:22publicize that often because I really want to get him in my
- 1:21:26draft. He is going to be fucking
- 1:21:28massive. He has been insane at the Club
- 1:21:30World Cup. He has been just absolutely
- 1:21:33incredible. He's played the vast majority of
- 1:21:36minutes at that position. He's in Pep's plans.
- 1:21:39I mean, he, he's just, he's going to be great.
- 1:21:43We've, yeah, we feel, I think we feel the same way.
- 1:21:45We've loved him for years and the only thing that was holding
- 1:21:47him back was playing for wolves, you know?
- 1:21:49Yeah. So I, I think we feel the same
- 1:21:52way. I, I think he, I mean, I don't
- 1:21:54know exactly where I would take him, but like if I'm 611 fourth,
- 1:21:59if I'm in the fourth round and he's still there and I don't
- 1:22:01have a defender yet, I would be considering it.
- 1:22:04Depending who's. There.
- 1:22:06Yeah, maybe. Wait, So what What pick is 611?
- 1:22:10Oh so 12243648 about 56 in the 660 something.
- 1:22:18OK so I I I have him ranked at 40.
- 1:22:20Yeah, yeah. I think that's I think that's
- 1:22:23pretty close to the. Right as well, yeah.
- 1:22:26On him, OK, some of the any other names kind of shouting out
- 1:22:29or you're like kind of speaking out to you here?
- 1:22:31Do you feel like a goalkeeper is necessary to get drafted?
- 1:22:37No, I just did goalkeeper Tears. And what I will tell you is that
- 1:22:44you probably want to get one in tier one or two.
- 1:22:50Like Tier 1 is going to be your guys, like your Pickfords,
- 1:22:56Popes, Kelleher, and then your tier twos are going to be kind
- 1:23:03of a lot of the names you're used to hearing.
- 1:23:05David Raya Sanchez. Allison.
- 1:23:09Allison Yeah. And then your tier threes is
- 1:23:12where you get into, you know, those guys who are bordering
- 1:23:16more along like a 7 point per start and there's going to be
- 1:23:20games where they will get you like 2 or 0.
- 1:23:25So yeah, you want to ideally avoid those guys.
- 1:23:28They become more kind of streamers.
- 1:23:30So anybody in Tier 3 and Tier 4 is basically like.
- 1:23:35Playable guys, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:36Like for Brugans down there and Belier.
- 1:23:39I, I think last year I didn't, I didn't draft a keeper in my, I
- 1:23:44just said I'll figure it out on waivers.
- 1:23:46I'd rather get an extra guy and see kind of how, how things
- 1:23:50shake out and then make a decision last minute.
- 1:23:53I mean. But I'll, I'll raise you this
- 1:23:55Keef. So I agree to the for the most
- 1:23:58part, but last year I was able to draft.
- 1:24:02I think I drafted Fleck in in at least two of my leagues and that
- 1:24:11was set and forget all season. So I think.
- 1:24:13If you can, yeah, If you. Can find that Kelleher might be
- 1:24:17that this season. He might be, if you can find
- 1:24:20that Trafford could be one of those this season.
- 1:24:23That's one. That's one we talked about last
- 1:24:24week that we like. I mean, that's a rumor, but
- 1:24:27we'll see. If he does, maybe even better.
- 1:24:33I I love the idea of Trafford at Burnley.
- 1:24:35Just the amount of points you can get from saves though like
- 1:24:37that. It'd be a little less exciting
- 1:24:39to have him if he plays for Newcastle.
- 1:24:40I feel like even though it might, it might be better, it
- 1:24:42just wouldn't be as fun. Yeah, pathetically.
- 1:24:45But Enzo, to answer your question, Pickford in round 9 is
- 1:24:48insane. I recommend nobody do that.
- 1:24:51That's crazy. Yeah.
- 1:24:53Yes, that was what I was looking at.
- 1:24:54So we're we're totally in agreement there.
- 1:24:57Trying to think of some other names here.
- 1:25:00Mason Mount lost pick Who did that?
- 1:25:03Who? Did that.
- 1:25:04That was Mason Mount. Mason Mount was in our draft 16.
- 1:25:07Oh, really? OK, that makes sense.
- 1:25:09Yeah. Yeah, that's about as that's
- 1:25:11about as far as he backs himself too all.
- 1:25:15Right, I have, I have some other ones for you guys.
- 1:25:16So how do you all feel about about previous draft darling
- 1:25:22Josh Brownhill round 12? I know I did see his name.
- 1:25:30He did well when he was in the league couple seasons ago.
- 1:25:33He could be OK, yeah. He could be OK by a 12th round.
- 1:25:36You're not going to complain, right?
- 1:25:38Well, it's it's a bench player at the end of the.
- 1:25:40Day, is that a, is that a Christie thing though?
- 1:25:43Like are you? I think I'd maybe rather be
- 1:25:45swinging for the fences there a little bit more where I think
- 1:25:48it's like it kind of depends on your draft composition a little
- 1:25:50bit, right? I think you have some, I think
- 1:25:51if you have some stability, you I would probably be swinging for
- 1:25:54the fences. But if you have some risky picks
- 1:25:56and you might need a guy just to plug holes, yeah, then that,
- 1:25:59that's not a bad pick. I actually, I, I'm totally with
- 1:26:01you. I think that's drafting for
- 1:26:03first or last. Toddy would hate that.
- 1:26:05Which interestingly, look at Toddy's team 12/1.
- 1:26:08He takes Barry on Gruda, which with Jauprejo leaving could be
- 1:26:14an incredibly valuable pick. So I actually really like that
- 1:26:18pick from him. And then there's a couple other
- 1:26:23value picks that I particularly thought were were really solid,
- 1:26:29as I mentioned, you know, like the Udoggi slash Spence pick
- 1:26:33late I think is is a really, really good one.
- 1:26:36I think people can do that for sure.
- 1:26:38This is going to be, I mean, maybe unexpected for some Danny
- 1:26:42Welbeck. Like who?
- 1:26:45Who else is it going to be? Not unexpected.
- 1:26:48He's going to have a great, he's gonna have a great three months
- 1:26:51trying to sell him off and then just.
- 1:26:54It was so funny. Yeah, trade high, trade high.
- 1:26:56Yeah, it was so funny because he, the beginning of the season
- 1:26:59last year was so good and Enzo had him and Enzo was trying to
- 1:27:02sell him to everybody in our league and just everyone was
- 1:27:05like, no, it's fine, I'll pass. Which was so felt so unfair for
- 1:27:10how well he was doing. But we all no one really
- 1:27:13believed it. Damn it, you like you had the
- 1:27:15game plan. Yeah, he totally did.
- 1:27:17Yeah, didn't. Walk.
- 1:27:19Well, I do like O'Brien too. For Evan in the last pick in 69.
- 1:27:24I like O'Brien. I think he could be in this
- 1:27:28again. Voids he was.
- 1:27:29Pretty darn dependable for Everton at the end of the year
- 1:27:32last year, but so for him to go 16 I think is pretty solid.
- 1:27:35I completely agree and The funny thing about him is that there
- 1:27:40was all this news about Kenny Tete having a verbal agreement
- 1:27:44with Everton. Well, turns out today that
- 1:27:48potentially that was all just gamesmanship to get a new
- 1:27:52contract with Fulham and so gotcha.
- 1:27:56Nice gotcha. So I I actually.
- 1:27:58I like O'Brien too, I think. I think he could be good.
- 1:28:01He what I also especially like about O'Brien is that he looks
- 1:28:04like he's an like American football player.
- 1:28:06He's so big and he's like the biggest, like meaty head.
- 1:28:09So I, I like, I, I kind of root for guys that don't really look
- 1:28:12like football players, like soccer players, you know, they
- 1:28:16look like the body types just do not seem.
- 1:28:18To be like Keef. So Keef, this is a Midwestern
- 1:28:21thing. I don't know if you, I don't
- 1:28:21know if you're familiar with this and I'm sure you're not,
- 1:28:24but I bring this up on our podcast all the time because I
- 1:28:26always call, what the hell is his name?
- 1:28:29Milenkovic? I always call him Big Hoss.
- 1:28:33Are you familiar with the term Big Hoss?
- 1:28:35Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's like a.
- 1:28:36Strictly American term when you call someone a hoss.
- 1:28:40And that's exactly how I see O'Brien.
- 1:28:42Yeah, they're both they're very similar in that way.
- 1:28:45OK, what about the Chelsea, Chelsea boy defenders Mark
- 1:28:49Cucarella 11/3. I think the role that he has in
- 1:28:52his team in the same same as Enzo where the years prior like
- 1:28:56absolutely irrelevant, but this year under under Moresca and the
- 1:29:00way that he kind of gets so advanced, it's I think that's a
- 1:29:03pretty good value there. I will.
- 1:29:05Be targeting him for sure. He has been dominating in Club
- 1:29:07World Cup. I think he's a great pick.
- 1:29:10He's fantastic. I I'm all in.
- 1:29:12And then the other two, Reese James to me is interesting just
- 1:29:15for his set piece, delivery stuff, center back.
- 1:29:18It's just a question, I think. I think when you're going tenth
- 1:29:20round I'll take the injury risk. Do you know Crazy bastard?
- 1:29:24But I, I, you know, yeah, soft spot for him.
- 1:29:26The other one I really like is a Supion at 9:12.
- 1:29:30I think he's had a little bit of a rocky time, but he was like,
- 1:29:33what? He was an elite defender, what,
- 1:29:35two years ago? Yeah, yeah, no, yeah, for sure.
- 1:29:37I think you just, you need to be realistic when it comes to a
- 1:29:39soupignon. You need to, you need to
- 1:29:41understand that they're going to leak goals.
- 1:29:43And you need to understand that like, though he has attacking
- 1:29:46returns in his locker, he's not going to be the guy who's going
- 1:29:49to give you 10 points per start because of the, the the goals,
- 1:29:54goals and his anger is going to rotate.
- 1:29:58What is interesting is that we did a little thing where we
- 1:30:00looked up like ghost points per start and like like the top
- 1:30:04ghost points per start players and he showed up on that list as
- 1:30:06like a top 25 ghost points per start player.
- 1:30:09Well. Sure, but how many points did he
- 1:30:10lose to go against? Yeah, but no, I mean with this
- 1:30:14new, with the new, with the new adjustment that happened that's
- 1:30:17came into effect last year, way less than he would have Sure
- 1:30:20too, you know. Sure.
- 1:30:21So, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:30:23So he's I don't know, he's interesting in that nine.
- 1:30:25I'm not not at it. Oh yeah, Yeah, I am.
- 1:30:28Maybe I will. Let me really quickly, let me
- 1:30:31tell you about playing time at the Club World Cup.
- 1:30:36So as far as Chelsea's concerned, Cucarella has played
- 1:30:3977% of available minutes. So has Neto.
- 1:30:44So has Colwell. So is Kaiseto.
- 1:30:48Palmer's at 72, Fernandez is at 70.
- 1:30:51Malo Gusto is a name I want to talk about 66% of available
- 1:30:57minutes he has played. And Rhys James in certain games
- 1:31:01has actually played in that midfield double pivot instead of
- 1:31:07playing in defense, which I find interesting doing that kind of
- 1:31:11Trent, you know, back and forth midfield.
- 1:31:13Is he a midfielder? Is he a defender kind of thing?
- 1:31:16Yeah, Yeah, he does that. And I think also, yeah, I mean,
- 1:31:19it's interesting. I think Gusto is, if you, you
- 1:31:23know, in the Chelsea community, he was very beloved for a while.
- 1:31:26And I think in the last six months has really kind of become
- 1:31:29a villain of Chelsea fans a little bit.
- 1:31:31Like, I think they've been really disappointed with how
- 1:31:33he's played. And I think it's no fault of
- 1:31:35his. I think it has a lot to do with
- 1:31:36what Maresca is asking of him. And I don't think it's
- 1:31:38necessarily how he's played his whole career.
- 1:31:41Yeah. So I think I, I and I feel like
- 1:31:44Maresca is the only one that seems to be high on him.
- 1:31:48Yeah, he's getting a lot of, he's getting a lot of minutes.
- 1:31:50Yeah. So I, I don't know exactly with
- 1:31:53gusto, but I'm, I'm not super interested there, I think.
- 1:31:55But I think as in the context of Reese James, he's definitely
- 1:31:58taking some of those minutes. And I think a lot of that has to
- 1:32:00do with James being just the injury concerns and they're
- 1:32:03really trying to manage that as much as they can.
- 1:32:04Keith, I'm sorry, I don't want to take over, but I I want your,
- 1:32:07I want your take on mod awake. He's only played 35% of
- 1:32:11available minutes. And I, I feel that there has
- 1:32:15been sort of a rift that's been developing and I think it's only
- 1:32:18widened since the end of the season.
- 1:32:20There's been rumors of him being sold.
- 1:32:23I think he's paying the price for distancing himself from
- 1:32:27Chelsea. And yeah, I I worry about him as
- 1:32:31a draft asset. So we've talked about Madeloki
- 1:32:33before and I think for me it's like he is one of the few guys
- 1:32:37where his fantasy value is like much higher than his real value.
- 1:32:41He just seems like the the type of guy where everything he does
- 1:32:43is like very direct. So like, OK, he shoots from
- 1:32:47these like impossible angles, but like, you know, but it's
- 1:32:49like where he's never going to score from.
- 1:32:50But like that's two points he's getting.
- 1:32:51You know he drives that he's, you know, contestant dribble,
- 1:32:54you know, successful dribbles like he just is so we.
- 1:32:57Call that a Trezegue. A Trezegue, yeah, he's so he's
- 1:33:00such an effect. He's much more effective fantasy
- 1:33:02asset than I think he has a real asset.
- 1:33:05So I think that's how always been my kind of rub with
- 1:33:06Mademeke is that like he's he's like gonna start, but I just
- 1:33:09don't have faith that he's locked that in and I just I
- 1:33:11there's all the things you brought up makes me feel like
- 1:33:14that's even less likely that he's gonna be that consistent
- 1:33:17starter. And then then what?
- 1:33:19Then what we've talked about too earlier with the amount of
- 1:33:21players there. It's just I'm, I'm not super
- 1:33:23interested because but you know, I think at the end of the day, a
- 1:33:27lot of it is who's gonna if, if, you know, if you were promised
- 1:33:31an XX amount of starts from one of these guys, you'd be, you'd
- 1:33:34be chopped out a bit. You know where he played really
- 1:33:36well for what team. England.
- 1:33:40I would love him like I love him for England, but I told him I
- 1:33:43think he'd do Wolves tell him. Yeah.
- 1:33:45I think if he goes to Newcastle, which there's some rumors saying
- 1:33:48he might, I think he jumps into what, Yeah, third round.
- 1:33:53Yeah, I mean, he's better than no offense.
- 1:33:55He's better than Murphy for sure, you know.
- 1:33:57He's better than Murphy. All right, Yeah.
- 1:33:59Look guys, look at look at the seventh round with me quick.
- 1:34:02So Mado Wake is there. What what midfielders there?
- 1:34:07Would you take him over in that entire round?
- 1:34:10So we have, we have Illimanjai, we have Dango Attara, Ismail
- 1:34:14Azar, Bruno Gimareish, Harry Wilson, Tizani Rinders and
- 1:34:18Elliot Anderson. That's an interesting crop of
- 1:34:20midfielders. Yeah, that is, it's like.
- 1:34:22A tier, It's like a tier 3, right?
- 1:34:24Tier 4, kind of. I think I go.
- 1:34:26I thought I was ranking from here.
- 1:34:28I might go man, when I go and die over about.
- 1:34:30I don't know if I could do that. I think the thing with Maduweke
- 1:34:33is he gets points when he starts and that that's that's what
- 1:34:36makes this so hard, you know, is it's not like a, a like for like
- 1:34:39situation because I think, I think I go and die.
- 1:34:41I think and Die is going to start the most games and then I
- 1:34:43probably go Maduweke and then I think I go.
- 1:34:46Bruno, maybe? Bruno G.
- 1:34:48No, I think I was. I think I go SAR Rynders, Bruno
- 1:34:52Wilson. I think I think Reinders is
- 1:34:54really interesting. I think Reinders scored about 10
- 1:34:56plus goals for AC Milan last year from a midfield position.
- 1:35:00Yeah. And he's he's a really good ball
- 1:35:01carrier, like contested dribbles, which is like what a
- 1:35:04huge ghost point indicator, you know.
- 1:35:06So I think I think there's I think there's more value there
- 1:35:08than people are giving credit. And I also think his age profile
- 1:35:11lends himself to starting more games than a lot of these young
- 1:35:14attackers that City are getting, you know, and I think if if
- 1:35:19Silva leaves, if Gundolin leaves, I think there's going to
- 1:35:21be some availability in that little more of a industrial
- 1:35:26midfield role that they have, you know, as opposed to like the
- 1:35:28Shirky's not that guy who's got a, you know, that surprise
- 1:35:32balance of the team where I think Ronders does that.
- 1:35:34So I don't know. And So what do you think?
- 1:35:39Out of all those I like Ndii too, but I think Bruno GI think
- 1:35:43we're downplaying him a little bit.
- 1:35:44I like Bruno G, especially in that newcast.
- 1:35:46It's one of the strongest midfields in the league.
- 1:35:48Harry Wilson shouldn't be there. He shouldn't be.
- 1:35:53I like Adam Sutton too. He he did well last season for
- 1:35:56Forrest by getting Kenny replicate it.
- 1:35:59But out of those, it'll just be Ndii, Bruno, G, and maybe saw.
- 1:36:05Whoa, my luck just went out. Nice.
- 1:36:07Sorry, there we go. It was a movie.
- 1:36:09You're you're so focused on the draft.
- 1:36:11You were still. What about you, Joe?
- 1:36:12I it sounds like you have do you have a different vision?
- 1:36:14I thought I mean Atara as well. I guess that he that that throws
- 1:36:18a wrench of it too. He's probably.
- 1:36:19I love, I honestly love model Wake.
- 1:36:21I rostered him this year and I he was, he was a backbone of my
- 1:36:26winning team as the first league I've ever won and well in in one
- 1:36:31of the community leagues. Like I mean, these things are
- 1:36:33Uber fucking competitive. So if your listeners are
- 1:36:36interested, I would encourage them to get involved because
- 1:36:38like these you've never seen competition like this in in any
- 1:36:41league. It's it's crazy.
- 1:36:42And so I finally won one this year and I had Mataweke in
- 1:36:45there. I had Kunya.
- 1:36:47It was a great, it was a great team.
- 1:36:48Anyway, so but I'm I'm now I'm I'm nervous given what's
- 1:36:52happened at the Club World Cup and and everything else.
- 1:36:54So I probably would pass on him for I don't know any number of
- 1:37:01these guys. Like Dango before his injury was
- 1:37:03putting up insane numbers. How much of that though was his
- 1:37:08him playing forward because Eilson was injured.
- 1:37:11So right. So that that's a factor there, I
- 1:37:13guess. But sorry.
- 1:37:14No, it's a tough group of midfielders right here.
- 1:37:17I mean, honestly, you're you're honestly, you're happy to get
- 1:37:21any of them in the seventh round because it feels like it's too
- 1:37:23late to get good midfielders, but you really are, which is
- 1:37:26wild. So like when you look at these
- 1:37:28guys, it's like you'll kind of take any of them.
- 1:37:32Harry Wilson, you know, push him back a few rounds and he would
- 1:37:34he'd be value in the 10th, I feel like.
- 1:37:36But other than that, yeah, I mean, like any of these guys I'm
- 1:37:40I'm kind of happy with. But also if I have to take my
- 1:37:45choice, God, I guess, I guess I'm going to go like Element Jai
- 1:37:56or or maybe Bruno. I don't know.
- 1:37:59I don't know. This is hard.
- 1:38:00I think, I think SAR is kind of slept on this year.
- 1:38:02I do like SAR, Isabella, SAR for Christopher Paulus.
- 1:38:06I think that there's some underlying metrics with him that
- 1:38:09kind of lend itself to that. He really improved as the year
- 1:38:12went on. And yeah, I think there's, I
- 1:38:13think there's something there too totally as well, though.
- 1:38:16Do we think Matawecki's going to be the same as how Liam Bailey
- 1:38:19was? You know what I mean?
- 1:38:21Like he had a great season 2 years ago, you know what I mean?
- 1:38:24And you pick up. That's that's that's still
- 1:38:25stings. That was my guy, no.
- 1:38:30That's that's actually a really good comparison.
- 1:38:32I mean, to be honest with you, Enzo, I'm hoping for, I'm hoping
- 1:38:35for a transfer from auto AK. Yeah, me too.
- 1:38:38I think that's the best course of action for him in his career
- 1:38:41and everything. Like just to not get mired down
- 1:38:44in this Chelsea bullshit. Yeah, and he knows.
- 1:38:46Fair enough. He wants, he wants to play
- 1:38:47Champions League football, so he might as well play with us, you
- 1:38:49know, with this new, I'm just saying all.
- 1:38:53Right. How we feeling guys?
- 1:38:54I think, I think this has been a this has been a pretty long,
- 1:38:59pretty long episode. Is there any other any other
- 1:39:01last shots before we kind of called into this?
- 1:39:05What about Fulcrug 1512 with the scarcity of forwards?
- 1:39:09No, get the hell. Never, never again.
- 1:39:12Not for me. What about in Cuckoo with the
- 1:39:14hope that he goes to United or goes somewhere else?
- 1:39:16That's for you, Keith. You take that all the way.
- 1:39:20Not for me. What about Gar Nacho 15/8?
- 1:39:23That I took him yeah, just on the hope that he got a move
- 1:39:27that's like a, you know, 15th round gamble, but notice like in
- 1:39:31in the in the later rounds. I don't do a lot of I don't do a
- 1:39:34ton of lottery picks. I'll I'll do mostly that's where
- 1:39:37I take a lot of my defenders. So I went Miklenko.
- 1:39:39I went Konate Adrian true fair. I think is being slept on a
- 1:39:43little bit. He is Bournemouth replacement
- 1:39:46for Kirkez. They already have him in he's
- 1:39:49he's presumably already, you know, working with the team or
- 1:39:52will be in like a week. So I'm I'm kind of excited about
- 1:39:55him. I'm not expecting Kirk has
- 1:39:56numbers, but still. Jay, he this was before the
- 1:39:59Liverpool news, unfortunately. So yeah, yeah.
- 1:40:03And then Garnacho was kind of like my one, my one lottery
- 1:40:05ticket just to see. And then of course, for Lopez.
- 1:40:08But. Yeah, Was for Lopez like a a
- 1:40:11spite pick for Ryan. We, we have a, we have a thing
- 1:40:13with our friends where we're like, we'll pick a guy that our
- 1:40:15friend really wants that he knows he's coming up just like
- 1:40:17a, like a gotcha. We like a good spite pick, mate.
- 1:40:20We like a good spite pick. No, you could say us, It's all
- 1:40:22right. I don't.
- 1:40:23I don't really mention that's one of his guys.
- 1:40:25I have no spite for Ryan, but it's my boy, like if if we're if
- 1:40:29we're ever in a lead together, we're fucked because we we talk
- 1:40:33strategy so much. And actually that would be my
- 1:40:37one final thing is just to tell people to get on Discord like
- 1:40:42you have. You have to get on discord.
- 1:40:45There's so much incredible knowledge on there, like people
- 1:40:50just sharing, you know, transfer updates and various strategy and
- 1:40:55like if you don't want your league mates to see it, you go
- 1:40:57in there, you know, you'd like make a couple friends on Discord
- 1:40:59and you just chat with like it's just the place to be and there's
- 1:41:02no neo Nazis like on Twitter. It's just really awesome.
- 1:41:05I just. Oh man, yeah.
- 1:41:08It was funny. We had a new guy come into one
- 1:41:10of our leagues, Nate, and he he go on there.
- 1:41:13He's a neo Nazi. No, no, no.
- 1:41:16He was on, he was on Discord. He was on the Discord.
- 1:41:19Of it and like this is the first time in playing with us and this
- 1:41:21guy won by 6 games. Yeah, he dominated.
- 1:41:25He dominated. I mean, he was doing trades like
- 1:41:27left, right and centre that you were like you got, you must have
- 1:41:29a crystal ball or something because.
- 1:41:31Oh. That's right, he was on your
- 1:41:32pod. Like 2 weeks ago he was yeah,
- 1:41:34yeah, he, he mentioned that that was one of the things he did is
- 1:41:37he got super deep in the banter boys discord and got really,
- 1:41:40yeah involved there. Banter Boys is completely free.
- 1:41:44We have one on draft Society where if you remember the inner
- 1:41:46circle, you can join it. And of course it it does cost,
- 1:41:50but I mean, it's you know, a fee for the season.
- 1:41:52But but one of the things I'll say is like every single time
- 1:41:56there's a transfer, it's there before I see it anywhere else,
- 1:41:59which is pretty amazing. That is really amazing.
- 1:42:01So yeah, that's pretty cool. But yeah, I mean, like Bantam
- 1:42:04boys is I can't say enough good things about Sanji.
- 1:42:06He's he's such an incredible dude.
- 1:42:08Good friend of mine finally got to meet him in person when I
- 1:42:11went to to London. And yeah, my, my wife adopted
- 1:42:15him actually, which is pretty cool.
- 1:42:16So he's he's now, he's now basically our adopted son, which
- 1:42:22is, which is. Kind of.
- 1:42:23I love that, Yeah, yeah. I think they were when I the
- 1:42:25very first when I was really trying to find content just for
- 1:42:29any, any sort of resources. I think even before I found
- 1:42:31Jurassic Society I like stumbled upon banter boys.
- 1:42:34What are we doing wrong? How?
- 1:42:35How did you find Banta boys before?
- 1:42:37Trying to, I think I like, I think I typed in podcast, you
- 1:42:40know, I think I typed in a very specific thing and that that
- 1:42:42showed up. But but yeah, no, but you guys,
- 1:42:45I mean, draft society is the ultimate resource.
- 1:42:47You guys totally like, I don't really know how this whole thing
- 1:42:51works without you guys kind of being here providing information
- 1:42:54for people. Oh dude no props to you guys as
- 1:42:56well. Like, I mean, you, you, us and
- 1:43:00Banta boys are the last three vestiges of any sort of advice
- 1:43:06for this platform at all. Like isn't that isn't that
- 1:43:10crazy? Like there used to be even as
- 1:43:14even as like recent as last season, there were several
- 1:43:18different websites. I won't mention them, but there
- 1:43:20were several different websites that were offering, like,
- 1:43:22subscriber packages to people who wanted to, you know, have
- 1:43:27exclusive this or that, and they fell off not even halfway
- 1:43:32through the season like this. This community is just so niche,
- 1:43:36but also it's so incredible. That's why you gotta get in.
- 1:43:39Yeah, people have to go on Discord.
- 1:43:40The community's incredible. Agree.
- 1:43:42Yeah. So I also think that there's,
- 1:43:44you know, as niche, it's really fun 'cause it's niche right now.
- 1:43:46But I also really could see it growing as, you know, as as the
- 1:43:49years go and as this as soccer just gets more mainstream in the
- 1:43:53United States. Yeah, you know.
- 1:43:55Stop Corning soccer we've been hoping might get bigger.
- 1:43:57Soccer. Yeah, soccer.
- 1:43:59All right, I want to, I want to wrap up Joe, something we do
- 1:44:02kind of the end of episodes. We do like a would you rather,
- 1:44:04I'm just going to say 2 names you have to choose between OK,
- 1:44:07OK, so you, you start and then Enzo can follow up after you.
- 1:44:09OK. So would you rather Chris Ward
- 1:44:11or Evan Nielsen? Evan Nielsen I rostered Chris
- 1:44:15Wood at the end of the season and wanted to jump out of
- 1:44:18window. OK, Well then, Enzo, where are
- 1:44:21you at? I agree.
- 1:44:22I think he's he's going to give in.
- 1:44:24He's going to get some more penalties, so he'll get those
- 1:44:26assists. I'm going Evan Nelsen.
- 1:44:28Draft 3 penalties in a game again.
- 1:44:30Yeah, he's going to give Clive. I'm going to hand clip him and
- 1:44:33Clive it. I'm going to win a fucking
- 1:44:35league. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:44:38Yeah, Yakuba Minta or Pedro Neto at the moment.
- 1:44:41Neto Yeah, I agree. And Neto for me, yeah, I agree.
- 1:44:46Neto too. Minta's just, I just don't know
- 1:44:47if he's going to stop or the way Neto's playing in the Club World
- 1:44:51Cup. It looks good.
- 1:44:53Oh man, I almost want to go mid to here.
- 1:44:55I'll go mid to here just to be the the opposite.
- 1:44:57But obviously I love Pedro Netto, but nicely.
- 1:45:00I'm so nervous on that. Chelsea, Chelsea's going on OK
- 1:45:03Alexis McAllister, Bruno Gemaraish.
- 1:45:05That's pretty straightforward, huh?
- 1:45:08I mean. I'm in penalties, I'm in Bruno.
- 1:45:12Huh. I'm going to go McAllister only
- 1:45:15because there's some monster scores there and the potential
- 1:45:18that Liverpool potentially even do more this year.
- 1:45:23But it's that one's very close. Like, very, very close, yeah.
- 1:45:28I. Also 9.9 points per start.
- 1:45:32Bruno Gimmer Rage 8.5 Maybe it's not as close as I thought.
- 1:45:35Yeah. No, not that close, but I I
- 1:45:38still got Bruno GI think. I know they're back in Europe
- 1:45:42and I know they had a little bit of down spell after that, but I
- 1:45:44think this is Newcastle's just getting better and better.
- 1:45:47I think Bruno G will be a part of it.
- 1:45:49All right, Chris Richards or Ben White.
- 1:45:51Oh, it's my boy. Damn.
- 1:45:54It's my boy, don't do it. Don't do it, mate.
- 1:45:58I got it. I got to go Richards only only
- 1:46:03because of the ghosts. And also Ben White has Yurian
- 1:46:06Timber to contend with, who I know he plays across the entire
- 1:46:10back line. But still, Ben White's still
- 1:46:13getting into the groove of things and Chris Richards has
- 1:46:16just shown he can do it. I know there's you're up to to
- 1:46:19account for, but still, you know, I'm going to go Richards.
- 1:46:23One of the most slipped on defenders of last season.
- 1:46:27Like less than 50% roster most of season.
- 1:46:31Richards gets headers and clearances made and when you get
- 1:46:35like 10 of those you're golden. And also they kept a surprising
- 1:46:38amount of clean sheets, I feel like too at the at the latter
- 1:46:41half of the season, the back half of the season Palace.
- 1:46:43So I I agree, I think it's Richards.
- 1:46:46OK, given the news on how to throw this one in there.
- 1:46:48Jiao, Pedro. Anthony Olenga.
- 1:46:51Oh God. Well, there's also news about
- 1:46:52Anthony Olenga, right? Potentially to Newcastle, so
- 1:46:55there's that potential as well. What's the latest on that?
- 1:47:01Let's see so oh Football Insider 12 hours ago sources Anthony
- 1:47:07Olenga to Newcastle latest as $60 million bid accepted.
- 1:47:12And I, I, I think it's that's. Without buying it?
- 1:47:15No, no, don't find it. Even even without buying it, I
- 1:47:19think I still go I. Agree.
- 1:47:21Yeah I agree. Just because Joe Pedro has now
- 1:47:24ruined his career by going to Chelsea.
- 1:47:26So. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:47:28Thank you. Yes, exactly.
- 1:47:29Maybe not his, maybe not his personal, his professional
- 1:47:32career, but definitely his fantasy career.
- 1:47:34The. Only way he's going to do well
- 1:47:35is if he gets married, if he's not married already.
- 1:47:38I love this from you, this is incredible.
- 1:47:41And so it's going to be a relationship guru by the end of
- 1:47:43this year. So if you're calling up the
- 1:47:45players and speaking to them, no, no.
- 1:47:47It's not just go points, it's emotional points too, OK, That's
- 1:47:50why I'm going. How?
- 1:47:51How do you keep abreast of all this information?
- 1:47:55And you know, the Internet's an amazing thing.
- 1:47:58You subscribe to Like Wags rus.com.
- 1:48:02My algorithm is fucked just at work, yeah.
- 1:48:06Your wife. Your wife would be pissed if
- 1:48:07she's talking algorithm probably.
- 1:48:09Why are you following all these these British women exactly?
- 1:48:12Yeah, I swear it's for fantasy. Just tell her, I swear she
- 1:48:16understands. They just look like Sherba.
- 1:48:18It's fine, they don't have to worry about it.
- 1:48:20And you know, all the wags like their Instagram pictures are all
- 1:48:23bikinis and everything. Like it's the most chop.
- 1:48:26Yeah, actually that's. That's.
- 1:48:27Brilliant. That is brilliant.
- 1:48:28Yeah. All of a sudden you see
- 1:48:29something like a guy that isn't a Lango on on his girl's
- 1:48:32shoulder. You know he's pissed and he's a
- 1:48:34squat hackery. That's a good point.
- 1:48:37Or he's gonna absolutely miss every single chance.
- 1:48:40You don't know. I don't know.
- 1:48:41That's my issue is what is this info really helping?
- 1:48:44If you go to one of two ways, we could have an amazing turn or
- 1:48:47like if they could do an Enzo Fernandez where it goes
- 1:48:49amazingly or it could be like a, you know, a pep where it goes
- 1:48:52horribly it. Doesn't matter if it helps or
- 1:48:55not, I just love the fact that he's so bought into.
- 1:48:57It yeah, It's so funny. It's like all about it.
- 1:49:00Goes think I'm crazy. Now think I'm crazy.
- 1:49:04Well, this has been episode 95 of Draft Offsides.

- 1:49:29It always does that, Always it. Was great, but I blocked out I
- 1:49:33blocked out about this much time so I'm I'm happy with it yeah,

- 1:50:01ever like that would be amazing. I would love that.
- 1:50:03You don't want you don't want Tico on there, trust me.
- 1:50:08I was hoping to get Tico. I was going to give him some
- 1:50:10shit about Real Madrid. I was, I mean.
- 1:50:13So maybe we'll have you, maybe we'll have you on again later in
- 1:50:15the year. Yeah, because.
- 1:50:17You gotta hear some of the stuff that he fucking says.
- 1:50:19He's a fake Man United fan. He should have been a Fuller
- 1:50:21fan. I would have respected it.
- 1:50:22Yeah. You go, Megan.
- 1:50:23Yeah. You can't pick Man United.
- 1:50:25Come on, can't pick, Man. United, I know that's how we
- 1:50:27feel. We're just, we're disgusted by
- 1:50:30him to be honest. Yeah, and he won and he won the
- 1:50:33league, so he's even more. I know, even worse.
- 1:50:35Just so smug. Yeah, we'll stay.
- 1:50:38We'll stay in contact. I'll talk to you soon.
- 1:50:40Joe, keep your window open for a few minutes after because it
- 1:50:42sometimes takes a minute to load it all up.
- 1:50:44Alright, cool, cool. Cheers guys.
- 1:50:45Sounds good. See you guys.
- 1:50:46Bye. Bye.
