- 0:10Speaker 1: Chapter eighty nine, verses one through nine, The Deluge and
- 0:14Speaker 1: the Deliverance of Noah, chapter eighty nine. And one of
- 0:19Speaker 1: those four went to that white bull and instructed him
- 0:22Speaker 1: in a secret, without his being terrified. He was borne
- 0:26Speaker 1: a bull and became a man, and built for himself
- 0:29Speaker 1: a great vessel, and dwelt thereon, and three bulls dwelt
- 0:33Speaker 1: with him in that vessel, and they were covered in
- 0:36Speaker 1: And again I raised mine eyes towards heaven, and saw
- 0:39Speaker 1: a lofty roof with seven water torrents thereon, And those
- 0:44Speaker 1: torrents flowed with much water into an enclosure. And I
- 0:48Speaker 1: saw again, and behold, fountains were opened on the surface
- 0:52Speaker 1: of that great enclosure, and that water began to swell
- 0:55Speaker 1: and rise upon the surface. And I saw that enclosure
- 0:59Speaker 1: till all its surface was covered with water, and the
- 1:02Speaker 1: water the darkness and mist increased upon it. And as
- 1:07Speaker 1: I looked at the height of that water, that water
- 1:10Speaker 1: had risen above the height of that enclosure, and was
- 1:13Speaker 1: streaming over that enclosure. And it stood upon the earth,
- 1:17Speaker 1: and all the cattle of that enclosure were gathered together,
- 1:20Speaker 1: until I saw how they sank and were swallowed up
- 1:23Speaker 1: and perished in that water. But that vessel floated on
- 1:27Speaker 1: the water, while all the oxen and elephants, and camels
- 1:30Speaker 1: and asses sank to the bottom with all the animals,
- 1:34Speaker 1: so that I could no longer see them, and they
- 1:36Speaker 1: were not able to escape, but perished and sank into
- 1:39Speaker 1: the depths. And again I saw in the vision till
- 1:43Speaker 1: those water torrents were removed from that high roof, and
- 1:46Speaker 1: the chasms of the earth were leveled up, and other
- 1:50Speaker 1: abysses were opened. Then the water began to run down
- 1:54Speaker 1: into these till the earth became visible. But that vessel
- 1:58Speaker 1: settled on the earth, and the darkness retired, and light appeared.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But that white bull, which had become a man, came
- 2:05Speaker 1: out of that vessel, and the three bulls with him,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and one of those three was white like that bull,
- 2:12Speaker 1: and one of them was red as blood, and one black,
- 2:16Speaker 1: And that white bull departed from them. Chapter eighty nine,
- 2:20Speaker 1: verses ten through twenty seven, from the death of Noah
- 2:23Speaker 1: to the exodus. And they began to bring forth beasts
- 2:27Speaker 1: of the field, and birds, so that there arose different
- 2:30Speaker 1: genre lions, tigers, wolves, dogs, hyenas, wild boars, foxes, squirrels, swine, falcons, vultures, kites, eagles,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and ravens. And among them was born a white bull,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and they began to bite one another. But that white bull,
- 2:49Speaker 1: which was born amongst them, began a wild ass and
- 2:53Speaker 1: a white bull with it, and the wild asses multiplied.
- 2:57Speaker 1: But that bull, which was born from him, got a
- 3:00Speaker 1: black wild boar and a white sheep, and the former
- 3:04Speaker 1: begat many boars. But that sheep begat twelve sheep, and
- 3:09Speaker 1: one of those twelve sheep had grown, they gave up
- 3:13Speaker 1: one of them to the asses, and those asses again
- 3:16Speaker 1: gave up that sheep to the wolves, and that sheep
- 3:19Speaker 1: grew up among the wolves. And the lord brought the
- 3:23Speaker 1: eleven sheep to live with it and to pasture within
- 3:26Speaker 1: among the wolves. And they multiplied and became many flocks
- 3:30Speaker 1: of sheep, and the wolves began to fear them, and
- 3:33Speaker 1: they oppressed them until they destroyed their little ones, and
- 3:36Speaker 1: they cast their young into a river of much water.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But those sheep began to cry aloud on account of
- 3:42Speaker 1: their little ones, and to complain into their lord, and
- 3:45Speaker 1: a sheep which had been saved from the wolves, fled
- 3:48Speaker 1: and escaped to the wild asses. And I saw the sheep,
- 3:52Speaker 1: how they lamented and cried and besought their lord with
- 3:55Speaker 1: all their might, till that Lord of the sheep descended
- 3:59Speaker 1: at the voice of the sheep from a lofty abode,
- 4:01Speaker 1: and came to them and pastured them. And he called
- 4:05Speaker 1: that sheep which had escaped the wolves, and spake with
- 4:08Speaker 1: it concerning the wolves, that it should admonish them not
- 4:11Speaker 1: to touch the sheep. And the sheep went to the
- 4:14Speaker 1: wolves according to the word of the lord. And another
- 4:17Speaker 1: sheep met it and went with it, And the two
- 4:20Speaker 1: went and entered together into the assembly of those wolves,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and spake with them and admonished them not to touch the
- 4:27Speaker 1: sheep from henceforth. And thereupon I saw the wolves and
- 4:31Speaker 1: how they oppressed the sheep exceedingly with all their power.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And the sheep cried aloud, and the Lord came to
- 4:37Speaker 1: the sheep, and they began to smite those wolves, and
- 4:40Speaker 1: the wolves began to make lamentation, but the sheep became quiet,
- 4:44Speaker 1: and forthwith ceased to cry out. And I saw the
- 4:47Speaker 1: sheep till they departed from amongst the wolves. But the
- 4:50Speaker 1: eyes of the wolves were blinded, and those wolves departed
- 4:54Speaker 1: in the pursuit of the sheep with all their power,
- 4:57Speaker 1: And the Lord of the sheep went with them as
- 4:59Speaker 1: their leader, and all his sheep followed him, and his
- 5:03Speaker 1: face was dazzling and glorious and terrible to behold. But
- 5:07Speaker 1: the wolves began to pursue those sheep till they reached
- 5:09Speaker 1: a sea of water, and the sea was divided, and
- 5:13Speaker 1: the water stood on this side and on that before
- 5:16Speaker 1: their face. And their lord led them and placed himself
- 5:19Speaker 1: between them and the wolves. And as those wolves did
- 5:23Speaker 1: not yet see the sheep, they proceeded into the midst
- 5:25Speaker 1: of that sea, and the wolves followed the sheep. And
- 5:29Speaker 1: those wolves ran after them into that sea, And when
- 5:32Speaker 1: they saw the Lord of the sheep, they turned to
- 5:34Speaker 1: flee before his face. But that sea gathered itself together
- 5:38Speaker 1: and became as it had been created, and the water
- 5:41Speaker 1: swelled and rose till it covered those wolves. And I
- 5:45Speaker 1: saw till all the wolves who pursued those sheep perished
- 5:48Speaker 1: and were drowned. Chapter eighty nine, Verses twenty eight to
- 5:53Speaker 1: forty Israel in the desert, the giving of the law,
- 5:56Speaker 1: the entrance into Palestine. But the sheep escaped from that
- 6:00Speaker 1: water and went forth into a wilderness where there was
- 6:03Speaker 1: no water and no grass, And they began to open
- 6:06Speaker 1: their eyes and to see. And I saw the Lord
- 6:09Speaker 1: of the sheep pasturing them and giving them water and grass,
- 6:12Speaker 1: and that sheep going and leading them, and that sheep
- 6:16Speaker 1: ascended to the summit of that lofty rock, and the
- 6:19Speaker 1: Lord of the sheep sent it to them. And after
- 6:22Speaker 1: that I saw the Lord of the sheep, who stood
- 6:24Speaker 1: before them, and his appearance was great and terrible and majestic.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And all those sheep saw him and were afraid before
- 6:31Speaker 1: his face, and they all feared and trembled because of him.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And they cried to that sheep with them, which was
- 6:37Speaker 1: amongst them, we are not able to stand before our
- 6:40Speaker 1: lord or to behold him. And that sheep, which led
- 6:44Speaker 1: them again, ascended to the summit of that rock. But
- 6:47Speaker 1: the sheep began to be blinded and to wander from
- 6:49Speaker 1: the way which he had showed them. But that sheep
- 6:52Speaker 1: what not thereof, And the Lord of the sheep was
- 6:55Speaker 1: wrathful exceedingly against them, And that sheep discovered it, and
- 7:00Speaker 1: down from the summit of the rock and came to
- 7:02Speaker 1: the sheep and found the greatest part of them blinded
- 7:05Speaker 1: and fallen away. And when they saw it, they feared
- 7:08Speaker 1: and trembled at its presence, and desired to return to
- 7:11Speaker 1: their folds. And that sheep took other sheep with it
- 7:15Speaker 1: and came to those sheep which had fallen away, and
- 7:17Speaker 1: began to slay them, and the sheep feared its presence.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And thus that sheep brought back those sheep that had
- 7:23Speaker 1: fallen away, and they returned to their folds. And I
- 7:27Speaker 1: saw in this vision till that sheep became a man
- 7:30Speaker 1: and built a house for the lord of the sheep,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and placed all the sheep in that house. And I
- 7:36Speaker 1: saw till this sheep, which had met that sheep which
- 7:39Speaker 1: led them, fell asleep. And I saw till all the
- 7:43Speaker 1: great sheep perished, and little ones arose in their place.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And they came to a pasture and approached a stream
- 7:50Speaker 1: of water. Then that sheep, their leader, which had become
- 7:54Speaker 1: a man, withdrew from them and fell asleep. And all
- 7:57Speaker 1: the sheep sought it and cried over it with a
- 8:00Speaker 1: great crying. And I saw till they left off crying
- 8:03Speaker 1: for that sheep, and crossed that stream of water, and
- 8:07Speaker 1: there arose the two sheep as leaders in the place
- 8:10Speaker 1: of those which had led them and fallen asleep, literally
- 8:13Speaker 1: had fallen asleep and led them. And I saw till
- 8:16Speaker 1: the sheep came to a goodly place and a pleasant
- 8:19Speaker 1: and glorious land. And I saw till those sheep were satisfied,
- 8:23Speaker 1: and that house stood amongst them in the pleasant land
- 8:27Speaker 1: Chapter eighty nine, Verses forty one through fifty, from the
- 8:31Speaker 1: time of the judges till the building of the temple.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And sometimes their eyes were opened and sometimes blinded, till
- 8:37Speaker 1: another sheep arose and led them, and brought them all back,
- 8:41Speaker 1: and their eyes were opened, and the dogs and the
- 8:44Speaker 1: foxes and the wild boars began to devour those sheep,
- 8:47Speaker 1: till the lord of the sheep raised up another sheep
- 8:50Speaker 1: a ram from their midst, which led them, and that
- 8:54Speaker 1: ram began to bud on either side those dogs, foxes,
- 8:57Speaker 1: and wild boars, till he had just deed them all.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And that sheep, whose eyes were opened, saw that ram
- 9:04Speaker 1: which was amongst the sheep, till it forsook its glory
- 9:07Speaker 1: and began to butt those sheep and trampled upon them.
- 9:11Speaker 1: And behaved itself unseemly. And the lord of the sheep
- 9:15Speaker 1: sent the lamb to another lamb and raised it to
- 9:18Speaker 1: being a ram and leader of the sheep, instead of
- 9:21Speaker 1: that ram which had forsaken its glory. And it went
- 9:25Speaker 1: to it and spake to it alone, and raised it
- 9:28Speaker 1: to being a ram, and made it the prince and
- 9:31Speaker 1: leader of the sheep. But during all these things, those
- 9:34Speaker 1: dogs oppressed the sheep, and the first ram pursued that
- 9:38Speaker 1: second ram, and that second ram arose and fled before it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And I saw till those dogs pulled down the first ram,
- 9:47Speaker 1: and that second ram arose and led the little sheep,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and those sheep grew and multiplied, But all the dogs
- 9:55Speaker 1: and foxes and wild boars feared and fled before it.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And that ram butted and killed the wild beasts, and
- 10:02Speaker 1: those wild beasts had no longer any power among the sheep,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and robbed them no more of aught. And that ram
- 10:10Speaker 1: begat many sheep and fell asleep, And a little sheep
- 10:13Speaker 1: became ram in its stead and became prince and leader
- 10:17Speaker 1: of those sheep. And that house became great and broad,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and it was built for those sheep, and a tower
- 10:23Speaker 1: lofty and great was built on the house for the
- 10:26Speaker 1: Lord of the Sheep, and that house was low, but
- 10:29Speaker 1: the tower was elevated and lofty, and the Lord of
- 10:32Speaker 1: the Sheep stood on that tower, and they offered a
- 10:34Speaker 1: full table before him. Chapter eighty nine, verses fifty one
- 10:39Speaker 1: through sixty seven, the two kingdoms of Israel and Judah
- 10:43Speaker 1: to the destruction of Jerusalem. And again I saw those
- 10:48Speaker 1: sheep that they again aired and went many ways, and
- 10:51Speaker 1: forsook that their house. And the Lord of the Sheep
- 10:54Speaker 1: called some from amongst the sheep and sent them to
- 10:57Speaker 1: the sheep. But the sheep began to slay them, and
- 11:00Speaker 1: one of them was saved and was not slain, and
- 11:04Speaker 1: it sped away and cried aloud over the sheep, and
- 11:07Speaker 1: they sought to slay it, But the Lord of the
- 11:09Speaker 1: Sheep saved it from the sheep and brought it up
- 11:12Speaker 1: to me and caused it to dwell there. And many
- 11:15Speaker 1: other sheep He sent to those sheep to testify unto
- 11:18Speaker 1: them and lament over them. And after that I saw
- 11:21Speaker 1: that when they forsook the house of the Lord and
- 11:24Speaker 1: his tower, they fell away entirely, and their eyes were blinded,
- 11:29Speaker 1: And I saw the Lord of the sheep. How he
- 11:31Speaker 1: wrought much slaughter amongst them in their herds, until those
- 11:35Speaker 1: sheep invited that slaughter and betrayed his place. And he
- 11:39Speaker 1: gave them over into the hands of the lions and tigers,
- 11:42Speaker 1: and wolves and hyenas, and into the hands of the foxes,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and to all the wild beasts. And those wild beasts
- 11:49Speaker 1: began to tear in pieces those sheep. And I saw
- 11:53Speaker 1: that he forsook that their house and their tower, and
- 11:56Speaker 1: gave them all into the hand of the lions, to
- 11:59Speaker 1: tear and devour them, into the hand of all the
- 12:02Speaker 1: wild beasts. And I began to cry out loud with
- 12:05Speaker 1: all my power, and to appeal to the Lord of
- 12:07Speaker 1: the sheep, and to represent to him in regard to
- 12:11Speaker 1: the sheep, that they were devoured by all the wild beasts.
- 12:14Speaker 1: But he remained unmoved, though he saw it and rejoiced
- 12:18Speaker 1: that they were devoured and swallowed and robbed, and left
- 12:20Speaker 1: them to be devoured in the hand of all the beasts.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And he called seventy shepherds and cast those sheep to them,
- 12:27Speaker 1: that they might pasture them. And he spake to the
- 12:30Speaker 1: shepherds and their companions, let each individual of you pasture
- 12:35Speaker 1: the sheep, henceforward, and everything that I shall command you
- 12:39Speaker 1: that do ye, and I will deliver them over unto
- 12:43Speaker 1: you duly numbered, and tell you which of them are
- 12:47Speaker 1: to be destroyed, and them destroy Ye. And he gave
- 12:51Speaker 1: over unto them those sheep, and he called another and
- 12:55Speaker 1: spake unto him. Observe and mark everything that the shepherds
- 12:59Speaker 1: will do to those sheep, for they will destroy more
- 13:02Speaker 1: of them than I have commanded them, And every excess
- 13:06Speaker 1: and the destruction which will be wrought through the shepherds.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Record namely how many they destroy according to my command,
- 13:15Speaker 1: and how many according to their own caprice. Record against
- 13:18Speaker 1: every individual shepherd all the destruction he affects, and read
- 13:23Speaker 1: out before me by number, how many they destroy, and
- 13:26Speaker 1: how many they deliver over for destruction, that I may
- 13:30Speaker 1: have this as a testimony against them, and know every
- 13:34Speaker 1: deed of the shepherds, that I may comprehend and see
- 13:37Speaker 1: what they do, whether or not they abide by my
- 13:40Speaker 1: command which I have commanded them. But they shall not
- 13:43Speaker 1: know it, and thou shalt not declare it to them,
- 13:46Speaker 1: nor admonish them, but only record against each individual all
- 13:51Speaker 1: the destruction which the shepherds affect each in his time,
- 13:55Speaker 1: and lay it all before me. And I saw till
- 13:58Speaker 1: those shepherds pastured in their season, and they began to
- 14:02Speaker 1: slay and to destroy more than they were bidden. And
- 14:05Speaker 1: they delivered those sheep into the hand of the lions.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And the lions and tigers eat and devoured the greater
- 14:12Speaker 1: part of those sheep, and the wild boars eat along
- 14:15Speaker 1: with them. And they burnt that tower and demolished that house.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And I became exceedingly sorrowful over that tower, because that
- 14:24Speaker 1: house of the sheep was demolished. And afterwards I was
- 14:27Speaker 1: unable to see if those sheep entered that house. Chapter
- 14:31Speaker 1: eighty nine, Verses sixty eight through seventy one, first period
- 14:37Speaker 1: of the Angelic rulers, from the destruction of Jerusalem to
- 14:40Speaker 1: the return from the captivity. And the shepherds and their
- 14:44Speaker 1: associates delivered over those sheep to all the wild beasts
- 14:47Speaker 1: to devour them. And each one of them received in
- 14:50Speaker 1: his time a definite number. It was written by the
- 14:54Speaker 1: other in a book, how many each one of them
- 14:57Speaker 1: destroyed of them? And each one slew and destroyed many
- 15:00Speaker 1: more than was prescribed. And I began to weep and
- 15:04Speaker 1: lament on account of those sheep. And thus in the
- 15:07Speaker 1: vision I saw that one who wrote, how he wrote
- 15:11Speaker 1: down every one that was destroyed by those shepherds day
- 15:14Speaker 1: by day, and carried up and laid down, and showed
- 15:18Speaker 1: actually the whole book to the Lord of the sheep,
- 15:21Speaker 1: even everything that they had done, and all that each
- 15:24Speaker 1: one of them had made away with, and all that
- 15:27Speaker 1: they had given over to destruction. And the book was
- 15:30Speaker 1: read before the Lord of the sheep. And he took
- 15:33Speaker 1: the book from his hand and read it, and sealed
- 15:35Speaker 1: it and laid it down Chapter eighty nine, Verses seventy
- 15:40Speaker 1: two through seventy seven, second period from the time of
- 15:44Speaker 1: Cyrus to that of Alexander the Great, and forthwith I
- 15:48Speaker 1: saw how the shepherds pastured for twelve hours, and behold,
- 15:51Speaker 1: three of those sheep turned back and came and entered
- 15:54Speaker 1: and began to build up all that had fallen down
- 15:57Speaker 1: of that house. But the wild boar tried to hinder them,
- 16:01Speaker 1: but they were not able, and they began again to
- 16:04Speaker 1: build as before, and they reared up that tower, and
- 16:07Speaker 1: it was named the High Tower. And they began again
- 16:10Speaker 1: to place a table before the tower, but all the
- 16:13Speaker 1: bread on it was polluted and not pure. And as
- 16:16Speaker 1: touching all this, the eyes of those sheep were blinded,
- 16:19Speaker 1: so that they saw not, and the eyes of their
- 16:22Speaker 1: shepherds likewise, And they delivered them in large numbers to
- 16:26Speaker 1: their shepherds for destruction. And they trampled the sheep with
- 16:30Speaker 1: their feet and devoured them. And the Lord of the
- 16:33Speaker 1: sheep remained unmoved till all the sheep were dispersed over
- 16:36Speaker 1: the field and mingled with them, in other words, the beasts,
- 16:40Speaker 1: and they, in other words, the shepherds did not save
- 16:43Speaker 1: them out of the hand of the beasts. And this
- 16:46Speaker 1: one who wrote the book carried it up and showed
- 16:49Speaker 1: it and read it before the Lord of the sheep,
- 16:51Speaker 1: and implored him on their account, and besought him on
- 16:55Speaker 1: their account, as he showed him all the doings of
- 16:58Speaker 1: the shepherds, and gave time testimony before him against all
- 17:01Speaker 1: the shepherds. And he took the actual book and laid
- 17:05Speaker 1: it down beside him, and departed. And of section thirteen
