Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, discos, need a little more Disgraceland in your life,
- 0:05Speaker 1: just to touch to get you through. Yeah, me too.
- 0:08Speaker 1: This is the podcast that comes after the podcast. Welcome
- 0:12Speaker 1: to Disgraceland, the after Party. Welcome to the Disgraceland bonus episode,
- 0:30Speaker 1: a little thing we like to call the after party.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is the show after the show, the party after
- 0:36Speaker 1: the party, the bridge to get you from one full
- 0:38Speaker 1: episode of Disgraceland to the other, the backyard to dig
- 0:41Speaker 1: into the dirt. On this bonus episode, we are talking
- 0:44Speaker 1: about this week's subject of the Disgraceland full episode, Brandon
- 0:47Speaker 1: Lee from the excellent movie The Crow with the most
- 0:50Speaker 1: excellent soundtrack, more from the Sean Combe story, and some
- 0:54Speaker 1: special announcements from the world of Disgraceland. And of course
- 0:57Speaker 1: we are diving into your voicemails, text and more. As always,
- 1:00Speaker 1: a whole lot of rosie. All right, disc goes, let's
- 1:04Speaker 1: get into it, and they say there's a heaven for
- 1:19Speaker 1: those who will wait. Some say it's better, but I
- 1:21Speaker 1: say it. I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry
- 1:24Speaker 1: with the saints. The sinners are much more fun. You
- 1:28Speaker 1: know that only the good die young. That, of course
- 1:31Speaker 1: is Billy Joel from his nineteen seventy eight hit Only
- 1:34Speaker 1: the Good Die Young. Brandon Lee, the subject of this
- 1:37Speaker 1: week's Disgraceland after Party, died young at twenty eight years old.
- 1:41Speaker 1: By all accounts, Brandon Lee was one of the good ones.
- 1:45Speaker 1: His father, Bruce Lee, died young too, at the age
- 1:47Speaker 1: of thirty two years old. Lisa Lopez, Bob Marley, Amy Winehouse,
- 1:52Speaker 1: Nipsey Hustle, all previous Disgraceland subjects, they all died young,
- 1:57Speaker 1: and despite being complicated and sometimes protic individuals, I believe
- 2:01Speaker 1: them all to be good at heart. Other disgrace on subjects,
- 2:05Speaker 1: some real bastards are either still breathing or lived long,
- 2:09Speaker 1: full lives. Jerry Lee, Lewis, Big Lurch, var Vicinus, Ike Turner,
- 2:13Speaker 1: to name just a few. They of course not good people.
- 2:16Speaker 1: They were or are bad bad men. But Billy Joel
- 2:21Speaker 1: was onto something. Though that statement only the Good die young,
- 2:25Speaker 1: it isn't absolute. Tupac secure in the Notorious Big They died, okay.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Tupac was twenty five, Biggie was just twenty four. I'm
- 2:34Speaker 1: not saying either were good. Tupac especially was at times
- 2:37Speaker 1: a horrendous human being and Biggie had his issues too,
- 2:40Speaker 1: but still they were young men. Had they lived, you
- 2:43Speaker 1: can make the case that they could have probably redeemed themselves.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Who knows. Twenty four and twenty five far too young
- 2:50Speaker 1: to go though. Okay, Tupac and Biggie had a lot
- 2:53Speaker 1: in common. They were, of course friends, then famously enemies,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and now a part of the same unsolved murder mystery
- 3:01Speaker 1: conspiracy theory. They also shared a common friend at one
- 3:05Speaker 1: time anyway, and Sean Puff Daddy Ditty Comb's Biggie was
- 3:10Speaker 1: Ditty's meal ticket, the start that helped Ditty than Puffy
- 3:14Speaker 1: forever Shawn Combs to launch his career into the stratosphere,
- 3:18Speaker 1: and Tupac was if we're to believe the recent theories
- 3:21Speaker 1: floating around TikTok, Tupac was allegedly Sean Combs is lover.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I'm emphasizing allegedly because as far as I can tell,
- 3:30Speaker 1: this is just a rumor. That said, I'm not discounting it.
- 3:33Speaker 1: There is a credible source alleging that at the very
- 3:35Speaker 1: least Seawn Combs up until the right now, is and
- 3:39Speaker 1: always has been obsessed with Tupac. It should be noted
- 3:44Speaker 1: that there are less credible sources claiming right now that
- 3:46Speaker 1: Tupac's family has hired new legal representation to investigate Ditty's
- 3:49Speaker 1: involvement in Tupac's death. But again, like I said, less
- 3:52Speaker 1: credible sources, I'm not so sure Sean Combs killed Tupac.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's just too neat, tidy of an ending. It's too Hollywood.
- 4:03Speaker 1: But a lot of other presumed good people in Shawn
- 4:08Speaker 1: Combs's orbit have died young ish, and it's kind of
- 4:13Speaker 1: weird and worth mentioning, Okay. Kim Porter, Shawn Combs's girlfriend,
- 4:17Speaker 1: the mother of three of his children, and former Uptown
- 4:19Speaker 1: Records employee and co worker of Shawn Combs. She died
- 4:23Speaker 1: some would say, very mysteriously at the age of forty
- 4:25Speaker 1: eight from pneumonia back in twenty eighteen. Andre Herrel, founder
- 4:30Speaker 1: of Uptown Records, the label where Diddy and kim Porter
- 4:33Speaker 1: started out. He died back in twenty twenty, a healthy
- 4:36Speaker 1: man from sudden heart problems. Uptown Records artists Heavy D
- 4:40Speaker 1: remember Heavy D in the Boys Heavy D. He died
- 4:42Speaker 1: back in twenty eleven from a pulmonary embolism. After Seawn
- 4:47Speaker 1: Combs and Andre Pharrell had a vicious falling out. Combs,
- 4:51Speaker 1: of course, then went on to start bad Boy Records,
- 4:54Speaker 1: where he signed, among other artists, Craig Mack. Craig Mack
- 4:57Speaker 1: died in twenty eighteen at the age of just forty seven.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Like Andre Harrell from Heart Problems, bad Boy artist Black Rob,
- 5:06Speaker 1: he died in twenty twenty one from cardiac arrest. Okay,
- 5:10Speaker 1: there's a lot of conjecture around the deaths of all
- 5:13Speaker 1: these music industry professionals and artists connected to Sean Combs. Now,
- 5:17Speaker 1: lots of people die from heart problems, lots of people
- 5:21Speaker 1: die young. But given the individual that we are talking
- 5:24Speaker 1: about here, Sean Combs, Diddy, this amount of people, all
- 5:28Speaker 1: whom were financially entangled one way or another with Sean
- 5:31Speaker 1: Combs VIA's record label business, you have to pause to wonder. Okay,
- 5:36Speaker 1: it's pretty pretty I'm channeling my inner Larry David. It's
- 5:43Speaker 1: just too damn coincidental. And I'm not saying that there's
- 5:47Speaker 1: some grand conspiracy at play here. I'm saying that this
- 5:50Speaker 1: deserves a little more research, a little more than I've
- 5:53Speaker 1: been able to give it. I have seen, I have
- 5:56Speaker 1: seen this conspiracy theory pop up numerous times on TikTok,
- 6:00Speaker 1: Jaguar right is all over it, but I have seen
- 6:02Speaker 1: nothing to substantiate it. I've seen nothing that actually ties
- 6:06Speaker 1: a thread of credible sourcing through all of this. It
- 6:10Speaker 1: makes me go, hmm, there's something there. There's motive, there's intent,
- 6:14Speaker 1: there's will, all that stuff. I have not seen any
- 6:16Speaker 1: of that yet. I've only seen, like I said, conjecture.
- 6:19Speaker 1: But still, I'm a grown man with my big boy
- 6:23Speaker 1: pants on. Okay, I'm not going to shy from a
- 6:25Speaker 1: conspiracy theory just because it's a conspiracy theory. At the
- 6:29Speaker 1: same time, I'm not going to promote it as being fact. This,
- 6:34Speaker 1: despite there not being any proof that I've seen yet,
- 6:36Speaker 1: deserves a little more research. So I'm going to dive
- 6:39Speaker 1: into this for you guys, and I will report back.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And I'm not sure how I'm gonna do that. Maybe
- 6:42Speaker 1: I'll do it in an afterparty. Maybe there'll be a
- 6:43Speaker 1: full episode on this. I'm not sure, but something's coming.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I'm going to look into this a little more fully. Okay.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Like I said, lots of conjecture around the deaths of
- 6:51Speaker 1: all these music industry professionals and artists connected to Combs.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Lots of people like I said, they die from heart problems,
- 6:56Speaker 1: they die young. I'm going to get into these desks
- 6:59Speaker 1: and the weeks. But I'm also I'm very compelled by
- 7:03Speaker 1: this one. Here the allegation surrounding Diddy jay z in
- 7:07Speaker 1: the death of Kathy White aka Becky with the Good Hair,
- 7:10Speaker 1: who died Okay, another one dying young while pregnant at
- 7:15Speaker 1: just the age of twenty eight suddenly from a brain aneurysm.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Wasn't heart related, brain aneurysm. I'm going to look into
- 7:21Speaker 1: this as well. This is this is incredibly salacious, and
- 7:25Speaker 1: I'm going to report back to you guys on what
- 7:26Speaker 1: I can find. As always, I will give you the
- 7:28Speaker 1: straight dirt on the sour, saying, Okay, who I think
- 7:31Speaker 1: is credible, who I think is not credible? And why
- 7:35Speaker 1: now I'm talking about these deaths because like it or not,
- 7:38Speaker 1: they're part of the Shawan Combs story, which is vast,
- 7:42Speaker 1: and this story is unfurling at in real time and
- 7:45Speaker 1: it's coming. It's all coming to light publicly. He's not
- 7:49Speaker 1: even near trial yet. Every day new news breaks, and
- 7:53Speaker 1: I suspect that by the time you hear this episode,
- 7:57Speaker 1: more news will have broken on Seawan Combs, perhaps rendering
- 8:01Speaker 1: this particular subject that I'm discussing with you right now,
- 8:05Speaker 1: the deaths around Combs. Perhaps new news breaks before you
- 8:09Speaker 1: hear this that renders this subject to be a little
- 8:12Speaker 1: less relevant. I say this because I'm recording this bonus
- 8:16Speaker 1: episode for you early. I'm recording on Tuesday. I usually
- 8:19Speaker 1: do it on Wednesday, get it out to you on Thursday,
- 8:21Speaker 1: so that I can be as close to the episode
- 8:22Speaker 1: as possible in the information while you're hearing it. However,
- 8:26Speaker 1: some of you may have heard there's a massive hurricane
- 8:28Speaker 1: coming my way. I'm in Florida and I need tomorrow Wednesday,
- 8:33Speaker 1: of the day I would normally record this episode to
- 8:37Speaker 1: you know, basically, hunker down and good chance I'm going
- 8:41Speaker 1: to lose power, So you're getting it now. I hope
- 8:43Speaker 1: everyone else there who's a little more fully in the
- 8:46Speaker 1: line of the hurricane. I hope you guys are getting
- 8:50Speaker 1: out of dodge. I hope you're safe. But anyways, that's
- 8:53Speaker 1: why I think there might be a chance of what
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm saying to you now being a little less relevant
- 8:58Speaker 1: by the time you hear it to days later because
- 9:01Speaker 1: of the hurricane. And we know this Shaan Combs story
- 9:04Speaker 1: is a hurricane. Nothing is going to stop it. There's
- 9:07Speaker 1: been some news over the last week since we last talked.
- 9:10Speaker 1: The big news I suspect that we're going to get
- 9:12Speaker 1: in the coming days though, in the coming weeks is
- 9:15Speaker 1: the story that I mentioned last week with the quote
- 9:17Speaker 1: unquote more high profile individual featured in the sex video
- 9:20Speaker 1: with Combs. If you recall, attorney Aerial Mitchell Kid has
- 9:25Speaker 1: claimed publicly that the owners of this video of the
- 9:29Speaker 1: alleged more high profile participant, has been shopping a catch
- 9:33Speaker 1: and kill deal. Well, now this news has developed slightly.
- 9:38Speaker 1: An Aerial Mitchell Kid again, the attorney. She's back on
- 9:41Speaker 1: News Nation and she's making this news Okay, that the
- 9:44Speaker 1: high profile person in the video is trying to catch
- 9:48Speaker 1: and kill this themselves, trying to purchase this, but they
- 9:50Speaker 1: are bidding for ownership of the video. They are bidding
- 9:54Speaker 1: against two major news networks to gain control of this
- 9:57Speaker 1: video to keep it from coming out. Okay, we shall see.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Even if this is an A list celebrity on the video,
- 10:05Speaker 1: who really cares? Okay, it's not against a law to
- 10:08Speaker 1: have sex. It's not against a lot to have sex
- 10:09Speaker 1: on video, even if you're a very short, very funny
- 10:14Speaker 1: comedian who not only stars in commercials with Lebron James,
- 10:18Speaker 1: but who also MC's Diddy Parties and Tom Brady Roasi.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Even if you're that guy, it's not illegal to have sex. Okay.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So if you show up on this video, if your
- 10:27Speaker 1: heart gets broken and you show up on this video,
- 10:31Speaker 1: perhaps even if you're having sex with Sean Combs in
- 10:34Speaker 1: this video, end of the day, who really cares? Now,
- 10:39Speaker 1: if there's a miner in the room, if there's a
- 10:41Speaker 1: miner in this video with you, well then you're fucked. Okay.
- 10:48Speaker 1: You got more than a broken heart to worry about,
- 10:49Speaker 1: all right. And if you were to then say, I
- 10:52Speaker 1: don't know, die young of say a sudden heart issue,
- 10:56Speaker 1: I'm not so sure Billy Joel will be singing you
- 10:58Speaker 1: any songs. Right, You get what I'm saying here, all right?
- 11:01Speaker 1: Switching gears, we have an episode on the band The
- 11:04Speaker 1: Cramps coming next week. And uh, as you're listening, guys,
- 11:08Speaker 1: you'll hear that this is a story about a rock
- 11:11Speaker 1: and roll band, a real rock and roll band, real
- 11:15Speaker 1: rock and roll, not rock rock and roll. You'll hear
- 11:18Speaker 1: the difference in the episode. And when you're listening to
- 11:20Speaker 1: this episode, please be thinking about what band, what what
- 11:24Speaker 1: band out there made the greatest rock and roll of
- 11:27Speaker 1: all time? Gotta be a band, and I'm not talking
- 11:29Speaker 1: about rock music. I get into the difference. I get
- 11:32Speaker 1: into the difference and definition between rock and roll and
- 11:34Speaker 1: rock in the episode. I don't want to do it here, okay,
- 11:37Speaker 1: but just no rock and roll down, dirty fun, guitar
- 11:39Speaker 1: driven music for teenagers, music that makes you feel like
- 11:42Speaker 1: a teenager, okay, So loosely based on that definition, I
- 11:45Speaker 1: guess what band, in your estimation made the greatest rock
- 11:49Speaker 1: and roll music of all time? And why? I already
- 11:52Speaker 1: know my answer. It's a pretty basic one, but I
- 11:55Speaker 1: want to know your answer. So hit me back six
- 11:57Speaker 1: one seven, nine oh six sixty six three eight voicemail
- 11:59Speaker 1: on tech at Disgrace Lampod on the socials, Disgrace Lampod
- 12:03Speaker 1: at gmail dot com on email, and I will answer
- 12:07Speaker 1: answer you guys here in the next after Party Bonus episode.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But right now, let me take a quick break back
- 12:12Speaker 1: in the flash with some of your voicemails and texts
- 12:14Speaker 1: and dms from last week. All right, guys, A couple
- 12:38Speaker 1: of announcements the live stream event that we had scheduled
- 12:40Speaker 1: for Wednesday night, October ninth. It was, of course postponed
- 12:45Speaker 1: due to the hurricane. I was unable to live stream
- 12:48Speaker 1: live in the storm here in Florida. Tickets are being
- 12:50Speaker 1: refunded as it's unclear due to travel that I have
- 12:54Speaker 1: coming up, some other issues that we have going on,
- 12:56Speaker 1: when we're gonna be able to set up another date.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I'd rather just get you guys your bread back into
- 13:00Speaker 1: your pockets. You can do what you will with it,
- 13:02Speaker 1: and we'll do something around this story later in the
- 13:05Speaker 1: future at a to be determined time and place. All Right,
- 13:10Speaker 1: I am excited to get you guys this story, the
- 13:11Speaker 1: Tom DeLong story of government disclosure, government conspiracy ufology all
- 13:16Speaker 1: that when we do, you will be the first to know.
- 13:19Speaker 1: You'll be the first to know of the date, the venue, etc.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But until then, like I said, you got your bread back.
- 13:24Speaker 1: You can do with the what you want. Apologies to
- 13:25Speaker 1: those of you guys who bought tickets. I truly appreciate
- 13:29Speaker 1: the support, and if you were looking forward to this
- 13:31Speaker 1: event as much as I was, I just want to
- 13:33Speaker 1: say there was literally nothing that we could do about this.
- 13:36Speaker 1: It was a scheduled on the wrong day, October ninth.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Can't control the weather, but just wanted to voice my
- 13:42Speaker 1: gratitude to you guys. And yeah, we'll have something special
- 13:46Speaker 1: coming up for you guys soon. Okay, another couple updates.
- 13:50Speaker 1: We have tweaked our podcast episode release schedule very slightly.
- 13:55Speaker 1: You may have noticed that our full new episodes. I
- 13:57Speaker 1: talked to you guys about this. I asked you what
- 13:59Speaker 1: you thought. I received zero negative feedback on this for
- 14:03Speaker 1: what we're planning on doing. So you may have noticed
- 14:06Speaker 1: that our new full episodes, like the Brandon Lee episode
- 14:08Speaker 1: that you just got this week, like the Cramps episode
- 14:10Speaker 1: that you're going to be getting next week. These new
- 14:12Speaker 1: full episodes are now being released on Mondays after party
- 14:16Speaker 1: bonus episodes like this one here that you're listening to,
- 14:19Speaker 1: They're coming on Thursdays as usual. And Rewinds of course
- 14:22Speaker 1: released on Friday. All right, so Monday, Thursday Friday, that's
- 14:27Speaker 1: the release schedule. Now I mentioned the Cramps episode. I
- 14:30Speaker 1: cannot wait for you to hear this Cramps episode. It's
- 14:35Speaker 1: an instant favorite of mine. Okay, it's coming to you Monday.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I really hope you dig it. I want to hear
- 14:40Speaker 1: your comments. We're so inspired by everything we're doing here
- 14:44Speaker 1: in this dark and spooky October here, Halloween and Disgraceland
- 14:48Speaker 1: has turned into my favorite time of the year. Somehow,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I was never Halloween guy until I started this podcast.
- 14:52Speaker 1: But listen, we got a lot, a lot of great
- 14:54Speaker 1: episodes coming your way. We've got a Poltergeist Curse episode
- 14:57Speaker 1: coming next week, I'm sorry, the week after the Cramps episode.
- 15:00Speaker 1: We have the story of the Exorcist coming after that.
- 15:02Speaker 1: We've got a creepy episode on Harry Houdini coming in
- 15:05Speaker 1: the All Access feed this month, and and rewind episodes
- 15:08Speaker 1: on Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Robert Johnson in one of
- 15:11Speaker 1: my all time phase of course, the Misfits. Okay, final
- 15:14Speaker 1: bit of housekeeping, we have our book club meeting virtually
- 15:17Speaker 1: on October twenty ninth, where we will be reading and
- 15:20Speaker 1: discussing while discussing the book we read, which is The Exorcist,
- 15:23Speaker 1: one of the best books that I've ever read. This
- 15:25Speaker 1: book club is happening one day after our Exorcist episode
- 15:29Speaker 1: comes out, so that should make it even extra fun
- 15:31Speaker 1: and spooky. The Exorcist book club discussion goes down on
- 15:35Speaker 1: October twenty ninth, just a couple days before Halloween. Pumped
- 15:38Speaker 1: on this. So if you're looking for something cool to
- 15:40Speaker 1: do this Halloween, Thean get in on our book club.
- 15:43Speaker 1: All right, Okay, I have a confession to make. I lied.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I have one more piece of news for you. Okay.
- 15:47Speaker 1: We have new dark and spooky October merchandise coming your
- 15:51Speaker 1: way next week that we created in collaboration with a
- 15:54Speaker 1: great artist named Spencer Alexander. These new Disgrace Sland merch items. Guys,
- 15:58Speaker 1: we're doing two shirts fucking awesome. One is inspired by
- 16:02Speaker 1: Black Sabbath Okay, the other is inspired by the Cramps,
- 16:05Speaker 1: and we're doing it a bit different with these items.
- 16:07Speaker 1: We're only doing a limited release, okay. These shirts will
- 16:10Speaker 1: be available to purchase as a drop next week and
- 16:13Speaker 1: they're only gonna be available for one week and one
- 16:15Speaker 1: week only, and then they're going by bye. Okay, keep
- 16:17Speaker 1: an eye on our Instagram and our ex account at
- 16:20Speaker 1: the Gray Sam Pod, and of course our website to
- 16:23Speaker 1: view the items. I'm gonna send them out. They look great,
- 16:26Speaker 1: they look fantastic, The designs are awesome. You guys are
- 16:29Speaker 1: gonna be stoked. And again that's coming next week and
- 16:32Speaker 1: those items are only going to be available for one
- 16:35Speaker 1: week's time. Okay, all right, enough for me. Let's hear
- 16:37Speaker 1: from you, guys six one seven nine O six six
- 16:39Speaker 1: six three eight Send me a text or a voicemail
- 16:42Speaker 1: just like this caller from the nine to seventy.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Hey Drake, this is the show from Lowell for Wilmington.
- 16:50Speaker 2: So mass Joesus Gurly Lou. My answer to your question
- 16:55Speaker 2: from the last after party about who the good dying
- 16:58Speaker 2: young is the actor Anton Yelchin. I don't think enough
- 17:03Speaker 2: people think about him or like recognize how awesome he
- 17:08Speaker 2: was and in my heart continues to be. He also
- 17:12Speaker 2: had the same birthday as me, so I had a
- 17:14Speaker 2: soft spot for him. But also the way he died
- 17:18Speaker 2: was like the most fucking insane and tragic thing. His
- 17:22Speaker 2: fucking jeep rolled down the driveway because like it had
- 17:26Speaker 2: like some sort of parking break fanism issue, and it
- 17:30Speaker 2: rolled down the driveway and pin him against his mailbox.
- 17:33Speaker 2: So he died agonizing and flow and just like one
- 17:38Speaker 2: of the worst things I could possibly imagine. You know,
- 17:41Speaker 2: there was no fucking reason for that to happen, So
- 17:44Speaker 2: I remained devastated and also, come on, guys, Anton gave
- 17:48Speaker 2: us the green room, like, please put the respect on
- 17:52Speaker 2: this Sand's name. See, he died way too young and
- 17:55Speaker 2: way too soon, and I will probably never get over it.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Thanks Michelle. I am one of those people who I
- 18:04Speaker 1: don't know who the hell you're talking about, how to
- 18:05Speaker 1: look them up? And yes I can. This is the
- 18:07Speaker 1: way the death. My gosh, damn, that is brutal. That
- 18:13Speaker 1: is brutal. I have many thoughts. I need to collect
- 18:16Speaker 1: myself though, and learn more about this and think about
- 18:19Speaker 1: it a little bit more. My first thought this is
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm just gonna be real with you. My first thought
- 18:23Speaker 1: was I should do an episode on this, because this
- 18:26Speaker 1: cause of death is insane and I would love to
- 18:28Speaker 1: write about it. Anyone ever watched Six Feet Under. I
- 18:31Speaker 1: loved that show. I loved how they opened every episode,
- 18:34Speaker 1: how they had that kind of cold open bit and
- 18:36Speaker 1: it was all just a different cause of death. I
- 18:38Speaker 1: found that to be fascinating. That's that's what your story
- 18:41Speaker 1: reminded me of, Michelle. All right, let's check in with
- 18:43Speaker 1: Christina here in the nine to one seven.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Thank Callings from Brooklyn in regard to a transformer who
- 18:52Speaker 3: has left way too early. Absolutely hands down, Adam out
- 18:58Speaker 3: from the Beastie Boys MCA. So it was an incredible person,
- 19:02Speaker 3: incredible performer and a tremendously impact my childhood and youth
- 19:09Speaker 3: and first person to affect me when they had passed
- 19:17Speaker 3: absolutely too soon.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Thank you, great one. Christina. I didn't, I don't. I
- 19:22Speaker 1: don't know why yau MC eight did pop into my
- 19:24Speaker 1: head when I pose this question, but kind of the
- 19:28Speaker 1: perfect example that you're providing here, and Christina, I'm thinking
- 19:33Speaker 1: about doing a Beastie Boys episode. It's one of these
- 19:36Speaker 1: things where I'm going to be a complete hypocrite every
- 19:38Speaker 1: time someone requests an episode and I'm like, yeah, well,
- 19:41Speaker 1: what's the crime. It's Disgraceland's what's the crime at the
- 19:45Speaker 1: core of it? So I can make it true crime
- 19:46Speaker 1: and make it work on our side of the street.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And I don't have an answer to that my own
- 19:51Speaker 1: question when it comes to the Beastie Boys. But I
- 19:53Speaker 1: just love the Beastie Boys so much that I want
- 19:56Speaker 1: to figure out a way to do this. I want
- 19:58Speaker 1: to figure out a way to write about that. And
- 20:00Speaker 1: I know there's got to be something there. There's got
- 20:02Speaker 1: to be something, some sort of crazy transgression, if not
- 20:06Speaker 1: a crime that I can use to anchor this story,
- 20:08Speaker 1: and so I'm looking into that. Christine in the nine
- 20:10Speaker 1: one seven. Thanks for bringing up yelp. I appreciate it
- 20:13Speaker 1: all right, Matt, Let's do one more voicemail here. Let's
- 20:18Speaker 1: check in with the two six.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Jake was going on, Brother Tony from the two six.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Just listening to the Brandon Lee episode. Believe it or not,
- 20:29Speaker 4: you know me being from the TUTI six. I actually
- 20:32Speaker 4: went to Brandon and Bruce's final resting place a year
- 20:37Speaker 4: after Brandon was tragically killed, and I'm I didn't even
- 20:42Speaker 4: put it all together until years later that I had
- 20:45Speaker 4: went because I went with a daycamp group of mind.
- 20:48Speaker 4: But it was so surreal to see it. And at
- 20:52Speaker 4: that time, Bruce Lee's headstone had it has a picture
- 20:55Speaker 4: on it now, but at that time that part had
- 20:58Speaker 4: been stolen because who would do is they would come
- 21:01Speaker 4: into the cemetery and they would take that part off
- 21:04Speaker 4: and they would sell it on the black market. So
- 21:06Speaker 4: now it's been bolted down. Another thing I wanted to
- 21:09Speaker 4: talk to you about real quick was last week to
- 21:11Speaker 4: tra have stid episode. Brother. I was in Vegas when
- 21:15Speaker 4: that happened, and I remember when I put the gist
- 21:19Speaker 4: of it together because I was going for another concert
- 21:22Speaker 4: even though that happened in Houston. I remember I texted
- 21:24Speaker 4: my friend who was coming in to meet me in Vegas,
- 21:27Speaker 4: and I said, Hey, we're treading very carefully at this
- 21:31Speaker 4: concert tonight that we're going to, so you can bet
- 21:33Speaker 4: your last moneys. When I saw ghost Face with ak
- 21:35Speaker 4: One and Jizza at that show, I was looking at
- 21:40Speaker 4: for all the exits. But thankfully we had a great time.
- 21:43Speaker 4: And you know, I said, it's a respectful nobody was
- 21:45Speaker 4: hurt anyway, doing what you do. Much love, talk to
- 21:49Speaker 4: you later, Tony.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Thank you for the call. Thank you for the insight
- 21:52Speaker 1: into Bruce's grave. That's a wild story. I had no
- 21:54Speaker 1: idea what was the part that was stolen though you
- 21:56Speaker 1: didn't mention that the part of the grave. Hit me
- 21:58Speaker 1: back and let me know. And I'm also I'm happy
- 21:59Speaker 1: to hear the Vegas show, though it was filled with anxiety,
- 22:03Speaker 1: did not go off like Astorworld. All right, thanks Tony.
- 22:06Speaker 1: All right, let's do some text guys. There are so
- 22:08Speaker 1: many texts, Like I said, so many texts. I just
- 22:11Speaker 1: first of all, thank you, second of all, know that
- 22:13Speaker 1: I'm reading them. If I'm not responding to all of
- 22:15Speaker 1: them here in the after party, and if I'm not
- 22:19Speaker 1: responding via text, just know that I read them all, okay,
- 22:23Speaker 1: and I'm just stoked on the engagement. So this one
- 22:26Speaker 1: comes from the seven oh three. Hey, Jake, this is
- 22:28Speaker 1: Mary from the seven oh three. It's a long one, Mary,
- 22:30Speaker 1: so I'm going to read part of it. Mary says.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I listened to the Travis Scott episode as well as
- 22:34Speaker 1: the Bonus episode, although for that one I was more
- 22:36Speaker 1: curious about your take on the additional charges for Sean Combs. Anyhow,
- 22:40Speaker 1: I wholeheartedly agree with you on your opinion of Travis
- 22:42Speaker 1: Scott being completely selfish and greedy. It actually brought back
- 22:46Speaker 1: a memory of when I saw Eminem and DC back
- 22:49Speaker 1: in two thousand and two. The crab is becoming out
- 22:51Speaker 1: of control and people were likely in danger of being trampled,
- 22:53Speaker 1: so he told everybody to stop, and if they didn't,
- 22:56Speaker 1: he was leaving the stage. Now I read that part
- 22:59Speaker 1: of Mary's text because Eminem, before this is all said
- 23:03Speaker 1: and done, now listen to you guys who are super
- 23:05Speaker 1: disgrace sandheads. You know I have a complicated history with Eminem. Anyways, Eminem,
- 23:11Speaker 1: we did an Eminem episode, and I you know how
- 23:14Speaker 1: I do that bit at the beginning of every episode
- 23:16Speaker 1: where I'm like, and they made great music, blah blah blah. Well,
- 23:20Speaker 1: I said Eminem did not make great music. And I
- 23:23Speaker 1: did it in part because I truly felt that way
- 23:25Speaker 1: at the time, and also in part because I really
- 23:28Speaker 1: wanted to fuck with Eminem's fans, who I know are
- 23:31Speaker 1: very precious, and there's nothing I like more than fucking
- 23:34Speaker 1: with precious fans of musicians, because everyone really needs to
- 23:37Speaker 1: just lighten up a notch. In twenty twenty four or
- 23:40Speaker 1: whenever this went live, anyhow, I've since grown into an
- 23:44Speaker 1: Eminem fan, largely because of my kids. I can't believe
- 23:48Speaker 1: I went as far as I did when I said that,
- 23:50Speaker 1: even it's not entirely because of all the shit I
- 23:53Speaker 1: got from everybody, but just came to that realization on
- 23:55Speaker 1: my own. But more importantly, I think when this Diddy
- 23:58Speaker 1: story is set and on that Eminem is going to
- 24:01Speaker 1: be part of this, and not in a bad way.
- 24:04Speaker 1: There's a lot of things that have popped off in
- 24:06Speaker 1: the last few years where Eminem has been on the
- 24:08Speaker 1: right side of the argument, and this don't take this
- 24:11Speaker 1: as a blanket endorsement of everything Eminem has said or
- 24:14Speaker 1: done in the past. That's not what this is. I'm
- 24:16Speaker 1: just like, the guy raises my eyebrows every now and then.
- 24:18Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. I'm like, huh, I agree with
- 24:20Speaker 1: this guy, and he said some very interesting things about
- 24:23Speaker 1: Diddy and guys. You got to know, I want to
- 24:26Speaker 1: get into him here, but I could make every single
- 24:29Speaker 1: after party episode about Shawn Combs, and I'm trying really
- 24:32Speaker 1: hard not to do that. But this is one of
- 24:34Speaker 1: those one of those wormholes that I kind of want
- 24:37Speaker 1: to dig through a little bit and get more information
- 24:39Speaker 1: for you guys. So anyways that you know, the seven
- 24:42Speaker 1: or three brought up Mary brought up the Travis Scott
- 24:44Speaker 1: thing with Eminem, and I thought that was a good
- 24:46Speaker 1: way for me to connect the two. Let's do another
- 24:48Speaker 1: text here, this one from the three to ZHO four,
- 24:50Speaker 1: also on the subject of Diddy. Three oh four rights,
- 24:53Speaker 1: I want to disgrace san T shirt that says that's
- 24:55Speaker 1: a lot of fucking baby oil. That's not a bad idea.
- 25:00Speaker 1: That's not a bad idea. Eight five six Rights and
- 25:03Speaker 1: listening to your after party and your response to Steven
- 25:06Speaker 1: reminded me of a young e mackay. Hey, Steven, well,
- 25:08Speaker 1: at least I'm trying. What the fuck have you done?
- 25:11Speaker 1: That's Mark from the eight five six. He's referencing a
- 25:13Speaker 1: Minor Threat lyric from the song in My Eyes, and
- 25:18Speaker 1: I feel like I lost some punk rock credibility because
- 25:20Speaker 1: when I said that last week's episode to Stephen, I
- 25:24Speaker 1: should have known I was paraphrasing Ia mackay from Minor
- 25:29Speaker 1: Threat and in my Eyes I was literally roommates with
- 25:32Speaker 1: the guys in the band in my Eyes back in
- 25:35Speaker 1: the day. I should have got that one. Fuck. I'm sorry, Mark.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Good catch though eight to eight Rights and the Crow
- 25:41Speaker 1: has been my favorite movie since I've seen it in
- 25:43Speaker 1: theaters while a senior in high school. For the question
- 25:45Speaker 1: of the week, of course, i'd say Brandon Lee. You
- 25:48Speaker 1: can see the range in the few actual scenes he
- 25:50Speaker 1: is in in the Crow, and Heath Ledger comes to mind.
- 25:52Speaker 1: You're right, and they're both similar to me. They both
- 25:54Speaker 1: occupy the same sort of space in my head. Good text,
- 25:57Speaker 1: eight to eight, I appreciate it. Do one more here,
- 26:00Speaker 1: one more? In the text from the nine to one six,
- 26:02Speaker 1: it comes from Brook who writes saying, Hey, Jake, just
- 26:05Speaker 1: wanted to let you know I've been listening to Keith
- 26:07Speaker 1: Jarrett The Rich and the Poor non stop on repeat
- 26:11Speaker 1: since you recommend it. It's so good Brooke from the
- 26:13Speaker 1: nine to one six Brook. You got it, Brook, I
- 26:15Speaker 1: got another one for you, Hank type for one second,
- 26:17Speaker 1: let me check this out. This is this other Keith
- 26:20Speaker 1: Jarrett album that I've been onto in the last couple
- 26:23Speaker 1: of days. I think I mentioned that The con Concert
- 26:25Speaker 1: a couple episodes ago, but there's also this record called
- 26:29Speaker 1: Belonging by Keith Jarrett that is also incredible. That one,
- 26:33Speaker 1: the Belonging one, is more like what you're hearing on
- 26:35Speaker 1: that song The Rich and the Poor con Concert is
- 26:38Speaker 1: solo piano. I believe the entire thing, and Belonging is
- 26:43Speaker 1: him with the little I think it's a quartet like
- 26:46Speaker 1: he has in The Rich and the Poor six one
- 26:48Speaker 1: seven nine oh six six six three eight. Hit me
- 26:50Speaker 1: up on voicemail, hit me up on text at Disgrace
- 26:53Speaker 1: slampod on the DMS. Our buddy Chris on It writes
- 26:56Speaker 1: in via Facebook regarding the Crow soundtrack, which we discuss,
- 27:01Speaker 1: of course, in this week's full episode on Brandon Lee.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Maybe the best movie soundtrack I've heard. That's a bold statement.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Chris appreciate it, though, what else we got here? Teresa
- 27:11Speaker 1: Hamley writes in Oh Jesus Christ, I'm about to listen
- 27:14Speaker 1: to this. Holy shit. Ah, Teresa, you talk about one
- 27:19Speaker 1: of our episodes, and she writes it, I love this
- 27:21Speaker 1: version of After Midnight. You rock, Jake Lowell. I can't
- 27:24Speaker 1: sleep without your podcast. You got it, Teresa. We're gonna
- 27:27Speaker 1: keep pumping them out so you keep getting those eight
- 27:29Speaker 1: hours eight hours a night. Teresa, do you do the
- 27:31Speaker 1: eight hours or you do about six or seven? Where
- 27:34Speaker 1: are you at? The older I get, the more sleep
- 27:36Speaker 1: I need, I get to say. I don't know what
- 27:37Speaker 1: it's like for you guys, but I just it's so important.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's so important for the brain power, the physical stuff
- 27:43Speaker 1: I can get through. It's not a drag on me
- 27:45Speaker 1: physically so much as it is just on making the
- 27:47Speaker 1: brain work in the morning in the way that I
- 27:49Speaker 1: needed to work. Okay, let's see Disgrace Lampod at gmail
- 27:53Speaker 1: dot com. That's how you email me at Disgrace Lampod.
- 27:55Speaker 1: That's how you send me some dms. I'll do emails
- 27:58Speaker 1: in a second. We do a couple more dms here.
- 28:00Speaker 1: This one comes from listener Joshua. Matthew Blevin says, Hey,
- 28:04Speaker 1: listening to Brandon Lee episode and just a warning, blanks
- 28:07Speaker 1: are dangerous at close range. I know more than one
- 28:10Speaker 1: actor in the past, thinking blanks were safe, have killed
- 28:12Speaker 1: themselves playing around the guns that fire blanks. The firearm
- 28:15Speaker 1: safety rule should always apply when handling any type of firearms. Recently,
- 28:20Speaker 1: Airsoft has been making guns that have a fake muzzle
- 28:22Speaker 1: flash and smoke, and this is probably gonna make movies
- 28:25Speaker 1: with guns a lot safer.
- 28:26Speaker 3: You know.
- 28:27Speaker 1: One thing that Joshua's reminding me of here that we
- 28:30Speaker 1: didn't talk about is the film Rust and the Alec
- 28:32Speaker 1: Baldwin thing, and perhaps there's an episode there. I went
- 28:35Speaker 1: to see David Spade the other night do a live
- 28:37Speaker 1: set and he was talking about how they're finishing the
- 28:41Speaker 1: film Rust, and he had some really funny things to
- 28:43Speaker 1: say about it. But it reminded me this Alec Baldwin
- 28:46Speaker 1: stories is completely just dropped out of my head, and
- 28:50Speaker 1: I think it's an interesting one and I think perhaps
- 28:52Speaker 1: it could make for a good episode, And you know,
- 28:54Speaker 1: it's obviously connected to this Brandon Lee topic that we're
- 28:57Speaker 1: talking about real quick shout out to Justin g Over
- 29:00Speaker 1: on Instagram, my buddy who sends me a whole bunch
- 29:02Speaker 1: of great content. He's going through a rough time right
- 29:04Speaker 1: now with his job. Justin. I hope it turns around
- 29:07Speaker 1: for you. If it doesn't, you know, just listen to
- 29:10Speaker 1: some Johnny Paycheck. I'm gonna take a quick break. I'll
- 29:12Speaker 1: be back in a flash with some emails and reviews. Okay,
- 29:30Speaker 1: dis Gray sand pod at gmail dot com. You guys
- 29:33Speaker 1: want to hit me up? Grayson Schmidt writes in Garage

- 29:51Speaker 1: tell if you're making fun of me because I have
- 29:53Speaker 1: a I don't know. I don't want to call it
- 29:56Speaker 1: a speech impediment, but I've clearly got a problem with
- 29:58Speaker 1: this word. I've been open about it, you know. I
- 30:00Speaker 1: try to try to face my problems head on, Grayson.
- 30:04Speaker 1: You know, I try to really just kind of figure
- 30:06Speaker 1: out what's going on, you know, I diagnose the issue
- 30:09Speaker 1: and then try to deal with it. If you're making
- 30:12Speaker 1: fun of me, though, I don't know what that says

- 31:29Speaker 1: exactly what this story needed. As a matter of fact,
- 31:31Speaker 1: it's perfect for all the stories you tell. Your podcast
- 31:33Speaker 1: is one of my favorites. Gotta go. Gotta go watch

- 32:09Speaker 1: gmail dot com. Guys, leave a review, We really, really
- 32:12Speaker 1: really appreciate it. Now for this episode, I try to
- 32:15Speaker 1: steer clear. Oh, I got into the ditty stuff a
- 32:17Speaker 1: little bit, but I tried to not turn the B
- 32:18Speaker 1: block into an entire piece of ditty content. I'm not
- 32:22Speaker 1: sure I succeeded. Like I said, this Diddy stuff is
- 32:26Speaker 1: hard to put down, it's hard to ignore. There's a
- 32:29Speaker 1: lot here to discuss. Every single one of these bonus episodes.
- 32:32Speaker 1: I could spend the whole thing talking about Diddy, but
- 32:35Speaker 1: I'm not going to do that. I am not going
- 32:37Speaker 1: to do that. I am, however, in the all access
- 32:40Speaker 1: portion of this podcast, I am going to talk a
- 32:42Speaker 1: little bit more about ditty. All right, that's gonna happen

- 32:48Speaker 1: access Well, if you don't know, you should know. You

- 33:27Speaker 1: are back. I want to get into the archive here.
- 33:30Speaker 1: A little bit before I take off, we talked about
- 33:32Speaker 1: Nipsey Hustle. Okay. That episode is episode number fifty seven,
- 33:36Speaker 1: release date May twelfth, twenty twenty. Lisa Lefti Lopez was
- 33:41Speaker 1: mentioned that episode. OG episode from season one, episode six,
- 33:45Speaker 1: release date April seventeenth, twenty eighteen. If you can believe that,
- 33:50Speaker 1: Bob Marley was also part of season one, Bob Marley
- 33:52Speaker 1: was also mentioned in this episode. Bob Marley was episode nine. Okay,
- 33:56Speaker 1: came out a couple weeks after Lisa left I Lopez.
- 33:59Speaker 1: That's released date May twenty ninth, two thousand and eighteen. Okay, now,
- 34:04Speaker 1: back in season one, we did a single episode on
- 34:07Speaker 1: Tupac and Biggie and my take on that episode, it's
- 34:12Speaker 1: one of my least favorite episodes. But I invite you
- 34:14Speaker 1: to listen to it, because the take my point of
- 34:17Speaker 1: view on that episode I think is original. I just
- 34:20Speaker 1: think the execution of that episode it's just never I
- 34:24Speaker 1: could you know, it's fuck You know, when you make
- 34:27Speaker 1: something you're just like, I can't fucking get it right.
- 34:29Speaker 1: That's what it was with that episode. Episode ten released
- 34:31Speaker 1: day June twelfth, twenty eighteen. And my point was that
- 34:35Speaker 1: the media did it. That the media really just stoked
- 34:37Speaker 1: the whole East Coast West Coast rivalry to such a
- 34:40Speaker 1: fever pitch that it resulted in murder. And I'm not
- 34:43Speaker 1: so sure I believe that anymore. Okay. I was actually
- 34:47Speaker 1: thinking the other day in light of this whole Diddy thing,
- 34:49Speaker 1: and in light of the fact that there's this rumor
- 34:51Speaker 1: that Tupac's family have retained new legal representation to look
- 34:55Speaker 1: into Sean Combs related to the murder of Tupac, I
- 34:59Speaker 1: started to think of about what what do I actually
- 35:01Speaker 1: think about Tupac's murder? What do I actually think about
- 35:04Speaker 1: Biggie's murder? And after doing that episode that I just mentioned,
- 35:09Speaker 1: after writing and releasing another two part episode on Tupac Secure,
- 35:15Speaker 1: episode sixty nine, released on January twenty six, twenty twenty one,
- 35:18Speaker 1: and episode seventy released on February second, twenty twenty one.
- 35:22Speaker 1: After those two episodes, I still don't know. And then
- 35:27Speaker 1: we did two episodes on Biggie Smalls, and those episodes
- 35:31Speaker 1: are from that same season, that same year. I believe
- 35:34Speaker 1: that's season eight. Those are released on Those are episodes
- 35:37Speaker 1: eighty and eighty one, released May eleventh and May twenty fifth, respectively,
- 35:41Speaker 1: a two part Biggie Smalls episode. I have a bit
- 35:44Speaker 1: of a theory, but I'm not so sure I believe
- 35:46Speaker 1: it anymore. And the person who I have sort of
- 35:50Speaker 1: theorized hunched who may have been involved, I don't actually
- 35:56Speaker 1: know that I believe that anymore. I really don't, and
- 35:59Speaker 1: I'd love to talk to that person, and that person
- 36:02Speaker 1: is not that hard to get to, so I'm thinking
- 36:06Speaker 1: I might try to do that in relation to this
- 36:10Speaker 1: Diddy story as well. I am going to go back
- 36:14Speaker 1: and I'm going to listen to all those Tupac and
- 36:16Speaker 1: Biggie episodes that I just mentioned, because I really got
- 36:18Speaker 1: to get my thinking right on this. I think the truth.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I think we're all just we're way off. We're way off.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I could be wrong, but that's my current thinking. Anyways,
- 36:28Speaker 1: all those episodes are there for you to check out.
