- 1:02and I have been recapping Project Runway. A lot of people, Angela have
- 1:06messaged me saying like, thank you for getting me back into it because it's
- 1:08been some great season with all stars. It has, and we've just been
- 1:12having a blast doing it. And all of these shows are really ramping up.
- 1:17So like Bachelorette, you know, we're in fantasy suites. That was
- 1:21you know, last night, So Deanna Chang and I are going to be
- 1:25recapping that that will come out later today and then also later on this week

- 1:42Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm so used to saying sailing out with you below.
- 1:47Thank you, darling, thank you. But we have some dish,
- 1:49so let's get straight up into it. Okay, I'm excited, rights are
- 1:55you excited? Okay? Well, first of all, well this one,
- 1:57you know, I draw, I'm darling, you know, crosses over into
- 2:00the cult realm occasionally, as you know, so as as it should,
- 2:07thank you, because I mean, what other major drama is there other than
- 2:10like a cult. I mean, for a while, there was an embarrassment
- 2:15of riches. Let's be honest, and to think that there's still cult news
- 2:21is disturbing for our world in general. That they just can't continue and they're
- 2:24not going to stop speaking of cults. Join me over at patreon dot com
- 2:30backslash drama, darling. We have our own little cult over there, a
- 2:35harmless, harmless, harmless cult. We just want to society and the world,
- 2:40and then we are going to brand you, of course with a gorgeous
- 2:45darling. But it's like startistic. Yeah, it's artistic, it's arteasonal y,
- 2:51you know what I mean, it's organic. Anyway, Leah Remedy is
- 2:54filing a lawsuit against Church of Scientology and it's leader, David Misscavill psychological torture
- 3:00and harassment. So holler see that, Holler at your girl. I don't
- 3:06know. I have nothing to do with the lawsuit. I'm not a scientologist,
- 3:07but I still want to be hollered at by Lea Remany. Yes,
- 3:10because I'm sure you watched that whole documentary series, right, Oh, yes,
- 3:15kind of. And I don't know, I don't. I don't think
- 3:19it's just because we live where it's where it all takes place, at every
- 3:23corner, at every corner, But it is. It's just I watch anything,
- 3:30I can read, anything I can about like scientologists and their experiences.
- 3:39It's just fascinating to yes, it really really is, and to think it's
- 3:44still I mean, it looks like it's thriving. I don't know what's happening
- 3:49on the inside. I'm sure it went through a deficit because of what's happening,
- 3:53But to look at the property. You know, if you just if
- 3:55you're just looking at real estate, it's like it's not going away, which
- 4:00is terrifying, right, And it's because I feel it's because they are allowed
- 4:05that, like the chat status, so they just have millions and millions and
- 4:11millions that they can just buy properties. Yeah, to make it look like
- 4:15they're thriving. Yeah, it's and there's it's probably just if you were to
- 4:20walk in the door, it's just crickets, you know, yes, yes,
- 4:25crickets and cults, you know, and cults, but there is no
- 4:28cult. It's it's like and then anything that happens with like oh hi,
- 4:34and hey, here comes a little sweetie. Okay, let me plause.
- 4:40Okay, baby daughter is in the background. Here she's putting on her headphones.
- 4:44Okay, so gorgeous, Tiara, I might add, oh yes,
- 4:46yes, Indie, thank you. Okay, so yes. So I'm just
- 4:50so fascinated with scientology that I will even like like the whole Danny Masterson try
- 4:58like totally followed that and like because it's ridiculous what they do not only to
- 5:06members and then ex members, but then the fallout from those ex members and
- 5:12members when they do stuff like this, like, I'm sure these poor women
- 5:16that were assaulted by him have been harassed, stalked, docked, Like I'm
- 5:24sure they where his wife, David, Misscavage's wife. Yeah, that's one
- 5:30of the big things. Do we do you think she's alive? I don't
- 5:34think so. I don't know. I mean he disappears. And that's what
- 5:38Leo Remedy was like, where is she right? And that's when it all
- 5:42started to like click for her that she was like, oh, why are
- 5:46they treating me like this when I just asked where my friend was? Right?
- 5:53It's good that she's content consistently bringing this to the post, Yeah,
- 5:57because we need to have eyes on her at all times. Yeah, she's
- 6:00no bs. I like her. She makes me laugh. What's working?
- 6:04It's not? Yeah? Oh no, Well anyway, happy uh happy that
- 6:15lee Remedy is doing this. Let's move on to other news. You know,
- 6:18Whitney Rose from Salt Lake City basically confirmed in her instance story that The
- 6:23Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is returning on Tuesday, September fourth. She
- 6:27was just basically in her car and she's like, it's just over working on
- 6:31Wild Best Spitty and it's looking like we're coming back to Stay Sittender for fifth
- 6:40justin less to step, you know what I mean, like just wish she
- 6:44not supposed to say anything. Probably it seems like that, you know,
- 6:47basically, I know, Queens of Bravo on Instagram took that and ran with
- 6:51it and was like, looks like you know, but I mean it seems
- 6:55like they should have they should be speaking out about it, announcing it around
- 7:00the corner, right around the corner. So I'm sure we'll be getting a
- 7:03trailer soon, which is weird. That would that would I would think so
- 7:08because I feel like they we see trailers for established shows, they start teasing
- 7:15those like oh yeah they can you know what I mean, Like they're ready
- 7:17for it, And especially for Salt Lake, people are like dying to know
- 7:23what's going on there. I know. I'm I wonder if it's like a
- 7:27Snoozefest season, because you know how you typically hear stuff as their folks.
- 7:31Yeah, it's been pretty sleepy. It's pretty been pretty sleepy. Hello.
- 7:36But also I feel like, especially when they're Snoozefest, they like they're like,
- 7:42uh god, we got to get ahead of this, Like let's just
- 7:45like boost it up and make it, make this look like it's going to
- 7:48be an exciting season. Let's start right now. Let's you know what I
- 7:51mean. Right well, the thing that I do like about this is that
- 7:56we really haven't seen any spoilers for what's going on in the season. And
- 7:59that's just one of those things where we always get too many of them.
- 8:01I mean, every second we're getting like a Vanner Pump Rules, you know,
- 8:05update, and it's it's annoying. Can it's not sure? I tried
- 8:11to Nina. It's vague, it's too much, But can we please stop
- 8:20spoiling shows in the fucking headlines? Oh my god, I've had enough.
- 8:26I've had enough. I And so, yeah, you're right, Like I
- 8:30do appreciate that there's not a lot of anything out about the season, and
- 8:35here I am complaining, and here I am like, well, it's probably
- 8:39a sleepy hollow, you know, I mean, talk about a fan you
- 8:43can't be you. Yeah, but I agree, it's stop spoiling things for
- 8:50us people. We just like to watch it and be surprised as it comes.
- 8:54As it comes. It's very rare that that ever happens. So when
- 8:56it happens, let it be now also happening in September is Southern Charm.
- 9:01Southern Charm is coming back. I saw that trailer Baby September fourteenth, and
- 9:07wow, what an intense trailer. What did you think, Angela, Because
- 9:11I know you're a big Southern Charm fan. Correct I am. I am
- 9:15a big Southern Charm fan. I am very interested to see what really happened
- 9:22with Taylor Anne Green and Austin Not. I mean, obviously, I think
- 9:31good for her. I think she can do better than Austin. I don't
- 9:33get I don't get the attraction with him. Is it. He's just tall,
- 9:39There's no personality, there's he's such a he's such like a dummy,
- 9:46like he can't get out of his own way. He's like it's a typical
- 9:50Southern charmer, dude. I don't get it. Yeah, but I kind
- 9:58of love it, just because we've seen she being such a pig for so
- 10:03long. I know the fact that she and Austin are together after all that,
- 10:07Wow that was pretty shocks, Like are they together? Well, I
- 10:15think they probably had some sort of hook up or some kind of kiss.
- 10:18But you know, when they were filming together during that time, when shep
- 10:22wasn't treating Taylor right. And Austin and Austin and Taylor went shoe shopping,
- 10:28remember that, Yes, and he was like crying to her. Oh my
- 10:31god. I was like, why don't you two just get together? You
- 10:33know, I know, I mean it was just sometimes they are so ridiculous.
- 10:41So I'm curious to see what's going to happen between the two because when
- 10:46they were I was like, get together. This is I mean, even
- 10:48shep can't stand in the way of this match, I know. But Austin
- 10:52won't be able to stand. He won't be able to stay there. He
- 10:56No. I feel like he and Shut are the types of guys that are
- 11:03always like, what's new, what's shiny, what's next? I'm lately playing
- 11:09with this toy. What's what's the next toy that I can play with?
- 11:13Yeah, they're the Craig is the only one to come out of Southern Charm
- 11:16that has any interest in a relationship. What's you know? It is?
- 11:20Who? What a thought Craig kind of or Craig after working at that bourbon
- 11:26company for like a month, was like, I think I'm gonna be promoted
- 11:30to president. Like well the trailer, Taylor trailer looks really intense and heartbreaking
- 11:43too, because you know there's a do yes her brother and uh, it's
- 11:48just it's looking like it's going to be really wild. It doesn't look like
- 11:52Catherine Dennis is involved. She's not in the cast photo. I thought she
- 11:58was kind of like go after last year because there was so many times where
- 12:03she just didn't show up for filming and it was like, oh, it's
- 12:07probably better for her to take a break off. And also she has recently
- 12:11posted, you know, some positive things about her growth, so we'll see
- 12:16also those lawsuits, you know, the custody things and all that, all
- 12:20this stuff going on with her kids and Thomas Ravenel and I know, so
- 12:22it's that's a whole other show. And yeah, really okay. Well,
- 12:33also another show that's coming out which I was excited to hear about is Traders
- 12:37Australia. Now I don't know, are we going to be able to see
- 12:41this because I saw hands Okay, we will, like, yes we are.
- 12:46I know it's on the There was a Australian season on Hulu. Did
- 12:56you watch one? I didn't watch. We watched the UK. You watched
- 12:58the UK? I remember watched the American one. Okay, it's American one.
- 13:03I saw. I didn't see UK love the K Chastain version because it's
- 13:07just the K Chastain version. To me, it was. I loved her
- 13:13so much by the end where she was just like I don't care, you're
- 13:16not listening to me, like throwing away their like rewards or she was like
- 13:22kick me off please, you know. And so it was. And the
- 13:26UK version was also like they had they had they were in the same castle,
- 13:31and they had they had. Some of the challenges were the exact same,
- 13:39but they did something in the UK version that they did not do in
- 13:45the US version, Like really at the beginning, like there were a couple
- 13:48of things that we were like, oh did not see coming. Was great
- 13:56television like it. I would suggest maybe watching that the UK version as well,
- 14:03because okay, it was. It was really good. Oh I'm very
- 14:07excited. Well they're not going to be in the same castle this time.
- 14:11Oh Australia. Yeah, so oh, I forget. I forgot to mention
- 14:16that there are three like Southern charm new dudes. It's like Rod and so
- 14:24we have you know, to discuss that at some point, you know,
- 14:26well, I mean we don't need to discuss it until we watch it.
- 14:28But I just wanted to get you heads up that's happening. It's exciting anyway.
- 14:33Well, I think that we really need to get into the recap because
- 14:39you know what's stopping us. But duh. Baby daughter is in the background,
- 14:43she has her headphones on. I'm single parenting it as my husband is
- 14:48working, you know, at a convention and doing great. I could not
- 14:52find a babysitter to save my life today. So here I am back to
- 14:56back with podcasts and meeting and I've got this little sweetie on her iPad.
- 15:03Hi, honey, Oh do you hear me talking about you? Oh?
- 15:07You're cute, fie? Can you turn up your volume a little so you
- 15:11don't hear me talking so much? Okay, good, because I want to
- 15:16make sure you don't hear everything I say. All right, good, okay
- 15:20because something else. So this is an episode that you know, obviously,
- 15:28if you've seen it, you know we're going to be getting into but trigger
- 15:31warning for essays, and I just couldn't. I honestly didn't see this coming.
- 15:39Any of the trailers are promo promos as I call them promos. Did
- 15:45not you know, give us a heads up that it was going to be
- 15:48this way this season and get so dark and disturbing, and you know,
- 15:52without further ado, uh, the two people who were canned. I completely
- 15:58agree obviously, I'm sure or we all do, one hundred percent. And
- 16:03I like that Jason runs a very tight ship when it comes to not putting
- 16:07up with anything when it comes to boundaries and consent. Yeah, so I
- 16:15mean, my god, yeah, this was the fact that it happened.
- 16:18Also, you know, we see them, we see these fine lines,
- 16:22we see these gray these gray lines, these gray areas on blow deck,
- 16:27especially because you're working together, you're sleeping in cabins together, you're in and
- 16:33out of each other's cabins, and for the most part, from what we've
- 16:37seen, it's typically a consensual situation. And yet there have been some moments.
- 16:45I can't really pinpoint those exact moments, but I know that there have
- 16:48been moments that have been very uncomfortable at times, but they've never gotten to
- 16:52this level. Now. I think the I think the the one that I
- 16:59remember most. Yeah, I think his name was Pete and Captain sand It
- 17:07was when Malia was Boson and Captain Sandy and I think Bugsy was also there
- 17:15and just the things that he was. He would call everybody like all right,
- 17:18sweetheart, all right, oh right, darling, and it was it
- 17:22wasn't like that was the worst. Yeah, that was that was maybe the
- 17:26worst that we had seen where they had to be like, it's just kind
- 17:29of like degrading and uncomfortable and like, don't to do that, and so
- 17:33Captain Sandy had to talk with him and he handled it well, but they
- 17:37kind of pretty much edited him out of the rest of this st That's right,
- 17:41That's right. That was the problematic season where they edited h I feel
- 17:45like that that was like the closest we've come to anything remotely. It's wild
- 17:53that like this, I mean because he remained on charter. Yeah, so
- 17:57they edited him out, but like with this situation, they didn't edit anything,
- 18:03and they let us see it all, including the producers engaging with protecting
- 18:10Well, this is wild, especially on the heels of this lawsuit against I
- 18:15was NBC and Bravo right the same thing. I was thinking the same thing.
- 18:19I also wonder, you know, I don't know if they went back
- 18:22in and edited having allowing us to see the producers get involved and protect because
- 18:29I wonder this is a perfect example of how they they do have boundaries where
- 18:33they are watching and they don't let certain things happen where they where they are
- 18:37protecting their crew, which which yeah, and I don't know if that's the
- 18:42case everywhere, but at least we got to see an example of them stepping
- 18:48in and not putting up with any of it. The slamming of the door,
- 18:52Luke slamming the door, and I felt, I'm sure all of us
- 18:56had a visceral reaction to feeling protective and just like holding that door. I
- 19:02was like, oh my god, you got to bust that door. You
- 19:03got to put that door down. He's about to you know, the aggression,
- 19:07the violence of him shutting the door, it was. It was so
- 19:12aggressive to watch. It was so uncomfortable, and he and knowing like he
- 19:17was already amped up because of what he and Laura were up to. So
- 19:21it was just like all so gross and to your point of you saying,
- 19:27like you wonder if they edited it, edited it in light of the lawsuit
- 19:33to show us, to show us, I don't, I don't. I
- 19:37don't see how they could have re edited because it was just like what would
- 19:42it have been Yeah, you're right, I know what I mean, Yeah,
- 19:47we wouldn't have seen anything really like it was just or yeah, or
- 19:52they wouldn't have shown any of that, right, and then but that's the
- 19:56whole storyline because then exactly so we would have missed and all the up and
- 20:00he left. Yeah, right, So, I mean I appreciated seeing that
- 20:07to be like no, no, no, no, get out, get
- 20:07out. But even before any of that happened, Asha clocked it when they
- 20:14were on the night out where she was like, you need to come with
- 20:18me, and your heart at least my heart just broke for her because I'm
- 20:23sure with her with what happened to her, she was extremely, extremely triggered
- 20:30when she saw that. And I mean I was kind of too. It's
- 20:37just like, yeah, what the fuck, dude, Like what are you
- 20:41doing? Well? What would have happened? And I think we all know,
- 20:45Yeah, I mean, I don't think that there's a person who could
- 20:48have seen that scene and not thought something the worst would have happened. Right,
- 20:52There's nothing in between the fact that he was completely naked, the fact
- 20:57that he was already climbing on top of her, the fact that he was
- 21:03shutting the door. He wasn't going to stop being really aggressive and he was
- 21:07obviously this is the question I have. Was he blackout drunk? It seemed
- 21:11like he was it. Did it did? Like his nuh yeah, And
- 21:17that's what's terrifying. Yeah, and so and so was she. And you
- 21:21know that night when she was she was conscious, No, you know that
- 21:27night that she went downstairs and seeing Ramen with Harry, she seemed blackout drunk
- 21:33to me too. And when she leaned up and he said that thing to
- 21:36her where he was like, you know, I believe in like, you
- 21:42know, friendship and a connection and a personality. And she's like, that's
- 21:48the way I would do it too, And he's like, I mean we
- 21:51could just be friends or for the next five weeks, or we could have
- 21:55a connection. And he's looking at her and her eyes are gone. She's
- 22:00like, well I and then he leans in for a kiss. And see
- 22:03that to me felt really gross, Yeah, because I was like, she
- 22:08looks like no, So I thought that was really weird're right, you're right.
- 22:15And I didn't even I I said something. I was like, she's
- 22:19so wasted and that's the only reason she's kissing him. Right now, Like
- 22:22she's not Jack Gary, She's like so drunk, she's just gonna kiss this
- 22:26dude. But I didn't even think about it that way, which is so
- 22:30messed up. You're right, that was totally taking advantage of a completely not
- 22:37coherent girl. And how in the question is how drunk was he because if
- 22:41you know, the only excuse would be is if he was just as drunk,
- 22:45right, you know, because the thing, Yeah, but the way
- 22:48he looked, it didn't look like he was as far gone as she was,
- 22:51and that was I don't think so. But he didn't take it to
- 22:52the next level. I mean he did. He he let her lean in,
- 22:57he you know, but it did seem weird. It's it felt very
- 23:02uncomfortable. Totally did, and I didn't even think about that. But also
- 23:07I feel like he's he wants to read into her behavior because he wants her
- 23:14to like him so much, because he likes her so much, and I
- 23:18don't think I don't think she does. No, No, she doesn't.
- 23:22I mean he's there. She's so grossed out by by Luke at this point
- 23:29because he keeps bouncing back and forth between her and Laura, and now she
- 23:34sees who he really is. So she's like, oh, it grosses me
- 23:37out. Well, moving on, I mean would he would he like tried
- 23:41to push her head in the cake, like was super aggressive, and then
- 23:45tried to like miss her afterwards, and like he's just oh. Also,
- 23:49the first kiss that they had when they were out at the club, he
- 23:53was like, close your eyes and then he did that and there's no and
- 23:56then we remember the major problem with that, there was no consent there,
- 24:00right, And then she was like and then he was like she liked it
- 24:04so just so fucking gross and I'm so glad that he was fired. And
- 24:12can we say that also Laura was just as bad watching her continually whoa assault,
- 24:22Like if the if the Wolves were reversed and it was a guy doing
- 24:26to a girl what Laura was doing to Adam, Like you could tell she
- 24:30was grabbing him underneath the table. He's like, whoa, whoa, whoa
- 24:33whoa, Like if a guy was doing that to a girl, And it
- 24:37was so uncomfortable and he kept like how many times did we hear Adam say
- 24:41no? And then she kept going after him and it was just like and
- 24:45then the fact, I mean, this is just so gross to me because
- 24:51I don't know if you remember, I didn't. I didn't watch soap operas
- 24:53when I was younger, but my aunt no I did. But Laura,
- 24:59how I know? Is that irony or is that like, what a coincidence?
- 25:03What is that? It's messed up? No, I don't know,
- 25:06but I agree with you. It is weird, uh, messed up,
- 25:11messed up that. Like writers were like, oh, I have an idea
- 25:14for a storyline. Why don't we have Luke rape Laura and then she'll fall
- 25:19in love with him and they get married. You can do it. Yes,
- 25:23Yes, that was Luke and Laura's storyline. He sexually assaulted her,
- 25:30he raped her, and then they made her fall in love with him and
- 25:33marry him. You've got to be kidding me. No. And it was
- 25:37supposed to be seen as, oh it it ended up romantic and oh my
- 25:41god, it's so in love. I thought, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 25:45No, that was the storyline. Baby, Oh my gosh, I'm
- 25:51I'm at a loss for words. Yeah, okay, wow yeah. And
- 25:56then so I was like, yep, today I'm saying to Dan, I'm
- 26:00like, oh my god, their names are Luke and Laura. He's like
- 26:03I have no idea. I just thought, oh, the drama between the
- 26:07two of them and then these two I just thought, oh that's the man.
- 26:10That's weird. Okay, well that shines new light. I'm sure all
- 26:14the darlings are going, yeah, they knew that, which is weird.
- 26:18And for her to be like, Luke's gone, oh that was the weirdest.
- 26:23Yeah, so she didn't know and then they finally see that's the thing.
- 26:29Okay, So she didn't know what was going on, so finally okay,
- 26:32it is bliss. But then she really quick though. It was kind
- 26:34of funny and so it was made so obvious how much Asha hates Laura because
- 26:42she was like they you know, everyone's like, where's Luke? What's going
- 26:45on? And it's kind of like the music is very tense, and like
- 26:51no one's really sure what's going on with Luke. Just a couple of people
- 26:53know. And then it's just like can we have ani like an interior career
- 26:57meeting? And they're talking and she's like, Okay, why don't you go
- 27:00blah blah blah do this blah blah blah, And Marco was like, so
- 27:04what happened? And she was like, Okay, so and then she looked
- 27:10at Laura. I was like, actually, can you do want to go
- 27:11get started on rooms? Right? So Laura goes. Laura goes to start
- 27:17on the rooms, and then she's like, let's go, let's go to
- 27:22we'll get all the other girl out. But then but then Serena's like,
- 27:26what's going on? She's like, why don't you come with us? Right,
- 27:30So they're all talking and Laura's like cleaning. So, yeah, she
- 27:36had no idea what was going on. I know she had no idea what's
- 27:41going on. But I also loved the little discussion they had in the room.
- 27:48I thought that was really important because it really put a spotlight on how
- 27:52women feel in this situation. You immediately feel guilty. You immediately felt like
- 27:56you did something wrong. You're embarrassed. You're embarrassed, you feel stupid.
- 28:00You got too drunk. It was your fault. You could see it all
- 28:03over her face. She was like, well, if I wouldn't have done
- 28:07that, then this wouldn't have happened. No. No, you were in
- 28:10your room with the door shut. Yes, you were totally unconscious. Viola.
- 28:17It's called a violation. I just I'm so disgusted by the fact that
- 28:22you know, well later on when Laura was like, oh, no,
- 28:26he's just joking, like he wouldn't rape you, and it's like you're you
- 28:30have no idea, and then her saying like I should have kept him happy.
- 28:33Every single thing she said couldn't have been more wrong, or I'm just
- 28:38like where, well, it actually made me concern for her childhood and her
- 28:45upbringing, you know what I mean? That was what stood out to me.
- 28:48Well, now baby daughters out of the room. So we were talking
- 28:55about how, yeah, you're right because I you know, with having a
- 29:03niece and a nephew and with age and wisdom. I also was like,
- 29:08what happened to her? Where this is her mindset right? Right? That
- 29:15was very concerning and very sad to see. Yeah, it was. It
- 29:18was just so messed up on so many levels. And I was so appreciative
- 29:25of the fact that Zorena was because I say this all the time, like
- 29:30I should be able anybody, women, men, anybody should be able to
- 29:37walk down the street but naked, and people should be able to control themselves
- 29:45and not just It's so like in a history with like school dress codes and
- 29:53girls are dressing too enticing for the males. How about instead of put the
- 30:00onus on the girls to dress more modest, put the onus on the men.
- 30:04The teachers that are adult men, and these boys that are learning to
- 30:10be men, maybe put the onus on them to control themselves. Well,
- 30:15I think the biggest issue in our society is that we don't have that type
- 30:18of learning in our educational systems. There is no sex. Sex ed doesn't
- 30:25take place until high school. You there should be a consensual program beginning in
- 30:34kindergarten where you're learning the basics about your body and consent, the simplicities of
- 30:42this is my body, this is my choice. There's nothing that if you
- 30:45know, if someone wants a hug, you have to ask very simple brass
- 30:51tacks. It's on the parents to do that, and it's it's you know,
- 30:55not all parents are going to do that. You know. One of
- 30:57the things that I've done with my daughter is a gotten books on you know,
- 31:02consenting, books on your body, things like that, and it's it's
- 31:07tough to do, and it's it's sad to do. In your head,
- 31:10you're like, it's sad that I have to do this because it's a conversation
- 31:14where you're it's like you don't really want to make them aware that anyone would
- 31:18want to ever hurt them in that way, because you don't want to bring
- 31:21it into their head like should I be scared of someone hurting my body?
- 31:26Like that's the other thing is like you you would rather them to not to
- 31:30be free and to not have to worry about those things. So it's a
- 31:32very delicate balance of making sure they feel they feel comfortable and yet not in
- 31:37fear of other people. And yet the reality of our situation of is sexual
- 31:44abuse takes place in it most of the time. The statistics say within the
- 31:49home, within the family, within the people that you know. And so
- 31:52it's so imperative for us as parents to educate our children. And yet in
- 31:57homes where people are busy, or it's a one parent home, or they're
- 32:01just not aware or they were raised in a different way, our education system
- 32:07needs to step up to provide that kind of structure because a lot of the
- 32:12times these things are happening in those structures churches, schools, you know,
- 32:17sports, anything, and for them to not have education to begin with is
- 32:22a huge fault of this system. I'm shocked that we don't have it.
- 32:29I'm shocked that we don't have it because it's not an elementary school. They're
- 32:32not teaching it. You know. What's concerning to me is that we're missing,
- 32:39we're dropping the ball as a society in the United States of America.
- 32:44The fact that our eyes are set on so many other different things this in
- 32:49the world, I mean, in our country, and yet the biggest thing
- 32:53that we can do to help our society is to protect our children. And
- 32:59we don't have those structures in place to do that. And how are we
- 33:02supposed to have a healthy society if we can't protect our kids. So and
- 33:07I don't you know. And this isn't just because Laura is like from another
- 33:10country, it's just from Leffia. It's not because it's a lot via thing.
- 33:14This could have happened from you know, Jill from Missouri. This could
- 33:17have happened from Susie from New Zealand, from Ben from down Under, like
- 33:23it can happen to anyone in this way of thinking. It's just wild that
- 33:28there were two people on this boat at the same time that are so unclear
- 33:32of boundaries and sexual assault and what that means, and they're on a public
- 33:38platform and they're on reality television. You know. Again, this mirroring the
- 33:44fact that this lawsuit is going on right now is huge because in many ways
- 33:50proves the point of this lawsuit, for one, but it also proves on
- 33:54the flip side that whatever the production company did, they did it the right
- 34:00way. They took care of business. Captain Jason as a captain of the
- 34:06boat and Asha as chiefs do did all the right things. Not only did
- 34:10they not put up with it for a second, they also were protective of
- 34:16Margo and with Laura's actions and got rid of her too. And just the
- 34:22fact that Laura was able to do well, not all her damage because she
- 34:29was crossing boundaries ridiculously with Adam for so long, but the fact that she
- 34:37did so much damage with Margo. After Captain Jason specifically had that conversation about
- 34:45respect and boundaries and safe, feeling safe, it was it was mine though,
- 34:52it was it was mind boggling. She just doesn't get it at all.
- 34:59Right. I loved what Jason said, Our cabin is our safety zone,
- 35:02that door is our boundary. To walk into someone else's room without consent,
- 35:07indecent is my limit. And then when they showed Laura's face was just
- 35:13blank because I was like, I wonder if this is gonna even clock with
- 35:15her, because she was like that with Luke too, and she was like,
- 35:20can you help me find my phone? And then she'd like so gross
- 35:23and creepy and like lured him into her. It was just yeah, And
- 35:27how about that massage with Adam. You know, that was strange that he
- 35:32okayed that. I thought that was weird that he was like Okay. I'm
- 35:37like, oh, that's just I think, very stupid. But also I
- 35:40feel like, because I don't know, like I've had guys that would just
- 35:46like leave me, just like wouldn't get the hint. So it was like,
- 35:51finally you gave him an inch so they would shut the fuck up and
- 35:53just leave you alone. And I wonder if that wasn't at all, but
- 36:00for for neither of them, I like for Luke or for Laura, for
- 36:05neither of them to kind of like they were both very dismissive of the producers,
- 36:09being like you have to get out of here. Yeah, like she
- 36:12said no, she said no. That was like that gave me the chills.
- 36:17You know. It was so like blessed those producers and the I know.
- 36:22And this was only the second and third time I think that we've ever
- 36:24seen producers step in on below below deck and the first was when Ashton,
- 36:32right Ashton, when he got caught in the in the rope, your brain
- 36:39really is it's a Wikipedia for below deck knowledge. How do you forget a
- 36:47decky almost drowning? I don't. I wouldn't remember. It would have taken
- 36:54me a while to come up with Ashton. That wasn't ye, I wasn't
- 37:00quite sure, but then it was like, oh no, it was Ashton,
- 37:01but yeah, that was that was. This was only like the second
- 37:04and third time in the same episode that producers had to step in and stop
- 37:09and stop Laura. That was I can only imagine that Adam said yes to
- 37:15that because he was so drunk, but he was fine by saying no,
- 37:19no, no, no no, and the jacuzzie and she's like, I
- 37:21give massage, nothing else, and I'm like you was like, not sexual,
- 37:24nothing's going to happen, And I'm like, what He's just he was
- 37:28naive and and silly even I know that, I like, what do you
- 37:30say? Are you doing? Come on? But then again, you know,
- 37:36the rule goes both ways. Just because he said, yes, do
- 37:37a massage doesn't mean that he can get right sextually assaulted, so exactly like
- 37:45and I loved that. Like you said, Jason was like immediately no,
- 37:50by you're done, and Laura was like, he should have got warning.
- 37:54I know, are what? So like, God, she just doesn't get
- 38:01it. And I really really hope she heals from what I do too,
- 38:07and I happen to her. Yea. I also wonder, you know,
- 38:12at this point with Margot, thank God that Marco's okay and nothing happened.
- 38:17But I would imagine that it would be very helpful for some sort of therapists
- 38:22to be tendered in to that boat and just have us sit down and talk
- 38:27and just you know, with everybody okay, but you know what, you
- 38:30know, I'd like to talk to you about the thing with below deck,
- 38:32which is that just across the board. You know, from the very get
- 38:36go, the reason why we tune in is this voyeuristic appeal to watching people
- 38:44live their lives. There are cameras in their rooms, they're having sex with
- 38:47each other, they're hooking up, they're in and out of each other's rooms.
- 38:50It's this blatant, you know, this spring break attitude while you're working
- 38:55at the same time, and that's why we like it so and then you
- 39:00have these crew members who are you know, heavily under the under pressure to
- 39:06perform in certain situations for the guests in sexual ways and be flirty and teasing
- 39:14with their bodies and and so you've got this whole realm of the below deck
- 39:21charters where that's what guests expect, you know, some more than others,
- 39:25not this charter. But yeah, but when they're told, you know,
- 39:30they're told, like, we never say no. We can never say no
- 39:32anything any request. We can never say no, and that's dirty dance this
- 39:38guest and like do this stuff. So where I mean, where does the
- 39:43line start, Where does it end? Where's the middle. It's like it's
- 39:46so tricky serving because that's why it attracts the industry attracts these types of people
- 39:52who really don't have boundaries, who are okay with doing these things, and
- 39:55who want to have one night stands. They don't want, you know,
- 39:59relationship. They all say it. So you know, it's hard to move
- 40:04forward, you know, with a below deck situation because you're never going to
- 40:07have a perfect situation. And if you do it probably will be a very
- 40:12boring season. And I don't mean that because I want to see darkness and
- 40:15essay, it's just that, you know, but you want to have people
- 40:20be educated enough to know about consent and to know like, yes, let's
- 40:24also maybe there should be some sort of drink limit. Who's going to monitor
- 40:29that? I don't know, because it depends on like when you get blackout
- 40:32drunk like that. You know, first, I can't believe people haven't fallen
- 40:37overboard at this point, but the fact that this is where we are it
- 40:42doesn't necessarily surprise me. But it is shocking in this day and age when
- 40:45these people are you know, they're young, they're not my generation, so
- 40:51my generation I can expect this to happen. You know, I'm sure that
- 40:54you feel the same way. I mean, how many times, I mean,
- 40:58it's sad to say. It's sad to say. I think a lot
- 41:00of people listening have been in a million situations. Yeah. I was in
- 41:05a situation with me and my cousin kind of similar to what happened with Margo,
- 41:08where we were sleeping on we were like at this house party, we
- 41:12were sleeping on couches like across from each other, and I woke up because
- 41:16my cousin was pulling this guy off from on top of me, and I
- 41:22remember, oh god, I was like trying to like fight him off.
- 41:24He wasn't naked, but I was like trying to fight him off, and
- 41:28I just remember being like, oh my god, he's so strong, and
- 41:30it was like he wasn't like super big or anything, but it was like,
- 41:35yeah, like, yeah, we've like it's all happened. And I
- 41:37don't know what would have happened if my cousin hadn't been there to be like,
- 41:40get the fuck off er and beat the shit out of him. But
- 41:45that's terrifying. Angela, Yeah, that's absolutely terrifying. And even in a
- 41:50situation like that where you may not even know the person, you've also got
- 41:53the flip side where in this situation you do know the person. And I've
- 41:58been in that situation where you feel like, Okay, now we've gotten to
- 42:01this point. Now this person is expects this from me, right because now
- 42:06I've you know, we've been hanging out all night or you know, we've
- 42:09been talking, and now they think that that I owe, that they deserve
- 42:15something from me, and the pressure of that it's so gross, and I
- 42:21know it really is date rape. You know. I look back and I'm
- 42:23like, well, that was date rapie. I didn't really want to do
- 42:28that, but I felt obligated to or you know, And this is what
- 42:34I want for the future of our kids is to never have that type of
- 42:39feeling. And you know, when you look at Margo, and we kind
- 42:42of joked about this when we saw her how she handled that kiss situation,
- 42:47and we're like, oh my god, she's so right. So Midwest,
- 42:51and I know it's not just Midwest, but it's an exaggerated you know.
- 42:57I think when you're looking at the coastal cities, know they're just they're not
- 43:01as bad. You know, when you're going to mid West territory, middle
- 43:05of the country, you are a lot more appeasing because of the culture.
- 43:08And I know that that is a grand assumption and a grand statement to make
- 43:15a blanket statement, and I know that's not one hundred percent true, but
- 43:17I'm just saying it resonates with me from what I've seen growing up in the
- 43:22Midwest. It resonates with me from what I've seen when I lived in New
- 43:25York, when I lived in Chicago, when I live in LA and what
- 43:30I have experienced, and you know, to have someone who is young and
- 43:36be on this charter and be a YACHTI experienced this. I thought she's way
- 43:40in over her head. And again education, education, education, about consent,
- 43:45and the default response being guilty. It was my fault. I shouldn't
- 43:52have done this, I shouldn't have done that. He probably felt like this,
- 43:55No, you know, we can't. We cannot keep feeding that beast.
- 44:00And again, you know it needs to stop, and it needs to
- 44:04stop with obviously at home with education, but again outside of your home,
- 44:08at school. It should be on our political and our it should be in
- 44:15our political system, it should be in our government. It should be trailing
- 44:17down. They barely care about protecting our children, let alone educating them.
- 44:24They don't want a bunch of educated, truly truly truly educated pele women coming,
- 44:31especially women, you're right, especially and people of the global majority.
- 44:36They don't want them getting truly educated as they get older and older and more
- 44:42and more truly truly educated, not just with the things of like learning how
- 44:46to be a robot and learning to follow the teacher. They don't want them
- 44:51growing up and taking over, which is what's going to happen. Sorry,
- 44:54Like I feel like this these like the generation of chi that our generation is
- 45:00raising, they are going to be hopefully so empowered with their body autonomy and
- 45:08like with consent and with boundaries and with just being a general decent human being.
- 45:16Like I feel like they have a little bit more of a chance than
- 45:20we did because we were absolutely absolutely respect your elders, you know, don't
- 45:24ask questions, do as Yeah, and not to say that there should be
- 45:28some rules and structure, because there should be. It's just I honestly think
- 45:32in every religious institution, every sport, every group activity that involves children,
- 45:40there should be immediately when you're like, these are the bathrooms, this is
- 45:45where you wash your hands. No one should be touching your body or your
- 45:50space without your consent. I mean I'm talking in every single thing that you
- 45:53do until we can level out, because this is where it's happening. It's
- 46:00so it's really triggering for everyone. I'm sure this episode is resonating among the
- 46:07Bravosphere. Yeah, Bravo sphere with like you know, chicken and Rice and
- 46:13the fact that she had to google that. I was like, well,
- 46:15I mean it had to be right, it had to be Cuban food,
- 46:17but she has. I mean, that chef is really screwing up. Thank
- 46:22god she got it right. Thank god, Angela. I was so worried.
- 46:25I was like, you're not going to get chicken thighs. I'm gonna
- 46:28die. Those are first of all, those are my favorite thing in the
- 46:30world. I'm a dark meat person, so I was like, you better,
- 46:32you best be getting those chicken bibes. I I worry about her because
- 46:42she's clearly good. She's she knows what she's doing, but I don't know
- 46:46what it is. It's throwing her off to be like, oh, these
- 46:50two people, I'm the preference. She says that don't eat red meat,
- 46:52and you gave them lamb and you have prepared to steak for them. Well,
- 47:00Angela, because it's such an intense episode, we're gonna we're gonna close
- 47:04it there and we're just gonna let We're gonna let it the rest of it
- 47:07lie. You know, when we revisit, we can talk about all the
- 47:09other fun you know, things that happened and things like that. But I
- 47:14think it's an important message too. Yeah, it was an intense it was
- 47:20episode, and I would you know, love to get you know, I
- 47:23would love if anybody knows about, you know, how to push education into
- 47:30our the education of consent into our school systems. If you know of anything
- 47:36where there is a platform, oh my gosh, a platform yeah, where
- 47:42you know people are trying to get this to happen. Please let me know
- 47:45because I would like to be a part of that, you know. Yeah.
- 47:47Anyway, So Angela, thank you so much for like joining me on
