- 0:01Speaker 1: I'll start Toyota Presents Off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn. Hester and Hester got ittle fat from
- 0:09Speaker 1: carrying each other to and Natty to carrying each other
- 0:12Speaker 1: on the air Control.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Live from the Raising Knees Studio.
- 0:20Speaker 3: It's Off the Bench, Yo, welcome back to Off the
- 0:32Speaker 3: Bench our number three football Friday. You're doing you're doing
- 0:38Speaker 3: this thing. Some said it couldn't be done. Some said
- 0:42Speaker 3: there's no chance. Some people doubted us. It's like getting
- 0:45Speaker 3: your first start. It's like getting a first start and
- 0:47Speaker 3: almost winning. I think you're willing, dude, but you got this.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Some people said, I don't know. I don't know if
- 0:54Speaker 3: these guys can even wake up early enough to show
- 0:57Speaker 3: up consistently. Wow, did that check so far? At least
- 1:03Speaker 3: grown ups. We're doing grown up stuff right now. I
- 1:05Speaker 3: got a grown up back injury from moving Christmas trees
- 1:08Speaker 3: out of the attic. And some people they keep telling
- 1:11Speaker 3: me it's because you're forty. No, it's not. I don't
- 1:14Speaker 3: believe that. There's young people all over the place that
- 1:16Speaker 3: hurt their backs. It's not just because I'm forty. No,
- 1:19Speaker 3: it just happens. He didn't stretch, I didn't stretch good enough.
- 1:22Speaker 3: It was a heavy, heavy ass Christmas tree, and it
- 1:24Speaker 3: was any kind of a weird spot. I was having
- 1:26Speaker 3: to like, so you're big, your big fake Christmas tree guy.
- 1:33Speaker 3: So for a long time I was a purist, Like
- 1:36Speaker 3: even when we had a house in Seattle when I
- 1:38Speaker 3: was playing for the Seahawks that was actually on this
- 1:41Speaker 3: little hill and right behind our house at the top
- 1:43Speaker 3: of the hill was a nursery and actually grew their
- 1:47Speaker 3: own Christmas trees that might have been. It was such
- 1:50Speaker 3: a nostalgic thing, goes great. We loved it. We loved
- 1:53Speaker 3: going there, getting the getting the saw, cutting it down, ourselves,
- 1:56Speaker 3: doing that whole deal, packing it up. I think my
- 2:00Speaker 3: relationship with the real trees began to sour that year, though,
- 2:03Speaker 3: because when we did we put the we put the
- 2:05Speaker 3: Christmas tree up, and it came from a farm, came
- 2:09Speaker 3: from the outdoors, straight from there. Chopped it down, put
- 2:12Speaker 3: it there ourselves with my mits, right, my hands, my bear,
- 2:15Speaker 3: my man stuff. I did that cut this tree down.
- 2:18Speaker 3: We were decorating it for like Clark Griswold, but with
- 2:22Speaker 3: the right size tree. But a couple of a couple
- 2:26Speaker 3: of days later we started knowing noticing that the tree
- 2:29Speaker 3: was infested with big black spiders and they were in
- 2:34Speaker 3: our homes. They had invaded our home. And these weren't
- 2:37Speaker 3: just small, white, little little guys. I don't know what
- 2:40Speaker 3: type it was in northwestern northwest spiders. They were harmless,
- 2:44Speaker 3: they weren't poisonous. But we had spiders in our house everywhere,
- 2:48Speaker 3: and it was brutal. So that kind of started souring
- 2:51Speaker 3: our relationship a little bit. And we were also you know,
- 2:53Speaker 3: Lacey and I were up there and we were we
- 2:55Speaker 3: were being adults really for the first time we had
- 2:57Speaker 3: a house. Uh we we when you when you're adult,
- 3:00Speaker 3: you have to do things by washing drives. You gotta do.
- 3:03Speaker 3: We bought our first vacuum. Who knew. We went to
- 3:06Speaker 3: a vacuum store. We got sold on this vacuum. They're like, oh,
- 3:08Speaker 3: look at this vacuum. The thing about this vacuum is
- 3:11Speaker 3: you'll never have to buy another one. And that's the
- 3:13Speaker 3: salesman's pitch right there. You don't ever have to buy it.
- 3:15Speaker 3: It's a lot you're always going to buy another one.
- 3:17Speaker 3: So we got there, We got this branded vacuum, spent
- 3:19Speaker 3: too much money on it, whatever, but you and know
- 3:21Speaker 3: what we'll never have to buy one again. That's what
- 3:23Speaker 3: it is. So it's a deal. Well, it turns out
- 3:28Speaker 3: you can't vacuum up Christmas needles, so when you move
- 3:31Speaker 3: the Christmas tree out, tell you that it clogged up
- 3:34Speaker 3: the whole thing. Vacuum dead. Now we had to send
- 3:38Speaker 3: it to get it. We took it in, it got refurbished,
- 3:41Speaker 3: they had to fix it a lot, but it was
- 3:42Speaker 3: never the same. Yeah. Guess what do you think? I
- 3:45Speaker 3: still have that vacuum.
- 3:46Speaker 4: No, no, you didn't buy an take it with you
- 3:48Speaker 4: from Seattle.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I think I've actually about two to three more vacuum
- 3:51Speaker 3: since then. I think we buy a vacuum out every
- 3:52Speaker 3: year and a half. It was mesked that salesman. I mean,
- 3:56Speaker 3: you got me hand in the air. I got guy.
- 3:59Speaker 3: But that started souring the relationship a little bit. And
- 4:03Speaker 3: then I think with the I just the you know,
- 4:06Speaker 3: respect to all the tree farmers out there. I don't
- 4:08Speaker 3: want to take your business away. I don't want to
- 4:10Speaker 3: hurt your business. I hope you sell a billion Christmas trees.
- 4:13Speaker 3: But for the Flynn family, the quality of these fake
- 4:17Speaker 3: trees have gotten so good. The lights are already built in.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You don't have to stringing anymore. They are built in.
- 4:22Speaker 3: They can change colors, they can flash, they can dance,
- 4:24Speaker 3: they can do all these different things. It's good stuff.
- 4:27Speaker 3: So just you know, I choose, I choose the ease.
- 4:31Speaker 4: See, I still buy the real tree. And I'm not
- 4:35Speaker 4: sure if it's anything other than if I had a
- 4:39Speaker 4: fake tree.
- 4:39Speaker 3: My wife woul already have it up. Yeah, that's true.
- 4:42Speaker 4: She would put it up November first, and you know,
- 4:44Speaker 4: right after Halloween it is all full blown Christmas. And
- 4:46Speaker 4: to me, you are skipping Thanksgiving, you're skipping the fall.
- 4:51Speaker 4: You know, I like to enjoy November. So for me,
- 4:54Speaker 4: like if we get a real tree, you can't get
- 4:57Speaker 4: them too early.
- 4:58Speaker 3: So you got it, that's true. So you you force
- 5:00Speaker 3: the forced, you force the way. Yeah, you force the weight.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Anything that is so now it is worth the weight.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Is that of saying it works and we get it.
- 5:09Speaker 3: You could have said it better, But Tea Pat in
- 5:11Speaker 3: the chat said, Flynn bought a vacuum that sucked pretty good.
- 5:17Speaker 3: That's what they're supposed to do. That's exactly what they're
- 5:19Speaker 3: supposed to do. Yeah man, So yeah, so and then
- 5:23Speaker 3: we was but we'll buy some We'll go get some
- 5:26Speaker 3: like real garland. Put it around, but still that once
- 5:29Speaker 3: it dries up because you can't like it with the
- 5:31Speaker 3: Christmas tree or the real Christmas tree, You're supposed to
- 5:33Speaker 3: put water at the bottom, right, keep it water. It's
- 5:34Speaker 3: what you do with plants because they you know, they
- 5:37Speaker 3: like water, they need it. But with the garland, you
- 5:41Speaker 3: can't really keep it watered. So the garland dries up,
- 5:44Speaker 3: in my opinion, really fast, and the needles get brown
- 5:46Speaker 3: and they fall off. We got fake garland, real trees. Okay,
- 5:49Speaker 3: so that we're fake everything. Now then we got multiple trees.
- 5:52Speaker 3: At this point, we've accumulated so like every now and then.
- 5:55Speaker 3: You know about my girls, they wanted a flocked Christmas
- 5:58Speaker 3: tree this year. They wanted the snow on it, so
- 6:01Speaker 3: we got a We got one of those. So yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 3: lots of Christmas. Christmas is going down at the Flint
- 6:06Speaker 3: House right now. Yeah, there's not a lot of Thanksgiving. No.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I mean you kind of can reuse some pumpkins and
- 6:11Speaker 3: some things. It's just I.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Don't like one of my favorite and I love Christmas.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Christmas time. It's hunting season. It's yeah, it's cooler, not cold,
- 6:19Speaker 4: but I enjoy this time.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Of year.
- 6:21Speaker 4: But like my favorite time is like right after New
- 6:24Speaker 4: Year's when we put all the Christmas stuff up and
- 6:26Speaker 4: like the house is decluttered, like it feels like the
- 6:28Speaker 4: house really the house gains an extra you know, five
- 6:31Speaker 4: hundred square feet.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Yeah, when we're done with Christmas. Hmmm. I hear what
- 6:36Speaker 3: you're saying, Like, I don't think I agree with that.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I'm not a big clutter guy. I can't stand. I
- 6:41Speaker 3: get a lot of things in a room. I get it.
- 6:43Speaker 3: I just like when Christmas decorations go down, it does
- 6:46Speaker 3: make me a little sad because, like if you have
- 6:48Speaker 3: a Christmas tree on it like just provides a little
- 6:51Speaker 3: you get used to the lighting that it's prediding. Yeah,
- 6:53Speaker 3: the living rooms a little bit has the different nice glows.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I enjoy it for a month, month and a half. Yeah,
- 6:58Speaker 4: but you're ready for it. I'm like, man, I'm ready
- 7:01Speaker 4: to have my rooms looking away.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I like, how about your outdoor? Are you do you
- 7:06Speaker 3: string your own lights? Do you string you put up lights? Yeah?
- 7:09Speaker 3: Are you screwge? Like what do we do with the outside?
- 7:12Speaker 4: So I'm I'm lower level roof. I'm not going up top.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I've lower level roof. Okay with with my knees. I
- 7:20Speaker 4: tried to get up on the roof and like my
- 7:22Speaker 4: knees start to buckle, and yeah, I get really uncomfortable.
- 7:24Speaker 4: You should not do that. No, So like I was
- 7:26Speaker 4: scared of getting down. So now it's just lower level roof.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I got one of those guns that you can put
- 7:30Speaker 4: the clip on the rights too, and I don't even
- 7:33Speaker 4: get on the ladder. I can sit there and it's
- 7:34Speaker 4: like a four foot pole and I can pull the
- 7:36Speaker 4: trigger and it releases the clip.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Wait, it's just a clip that the lights go on.
- 7:40Speaker 3: So you got to the light on there.
- 7:41Speaker 4: You got the clip that goes to your roof that
- 7:43Speaker 4: holds the light, and there's a gun that comes with
- 7:45Speaker 4: it where you put the clip in the gun. So
- 7:47Speaker 4: that way you got the lights in and you can
- 7:50Speaker 4: put it all the way up.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah, so you don't even need a ladder. No, you
- 7:52Speaker 3: just pull the trigger and it shoots the clip on
- 7:54Speaker 3: to where you want it. Then how you get the
- 7:55Speaker 3: light on it?
- 7:56Speaker 4: You put the light on before you you put the
- 7:57Speaker 4: light on the clip clip on the gun holding the
- 8:00Speaker 4: lights and click, go down. Click as a game changer.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Someone showed me that about three years ago, and.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I got rid of the When you said gun first,
- 8:08Speaker 3: I thought of the uh the Grinch, the Grinch.
- 8:13Speaker 4: If someone has that one, I would I would buy it.
- 8:15Speaker 3: That'd be pretty cool. But it sounds like we're getting
- 8:17Speaker 3: pretty close to that technology based on what you just
- 8:18Speaker 3: told me.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's a it's a stick that basically remember
- 8:22Speaker 4: the old call that you used to pick up stuff
- 8:23Speaker 4: when you were a kid, like a little shark head
- 8:25Speaker 4: and he had a little trigger. Same concept, except it
- 8:27Speaker 4: holds a clip and it really.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Went to light. Yeah. What a world we live in.
- 8:32Speaker 4: I mean it every time I do it, and I
- 8:34Speaker 4: spend all day Sunday putting all the lights up, and
- 8:37Speaker 4: then we get excited to go out there when it's
- 8:39Speaker 4: dark and we turn them on and I'm like that
- 8:42Speaker 4: looks like crap. Yeah, I'm never impressed with the lights.
- 8:45Speaker 4: And I see the people who pay for it. I'm like,
- 8:47Speaker 4: I just I can't spend thirty eight hundred bucks on
- 8:50Speaker 4: Christmas lights.
- 8:51Speaker 3: You know, I think you can get a lot lot
- 8:54Speaker 3: more efficient than that. You can tighten that budget up. Yeah,
- 8:57Speaker 3: but it is it's, uh, there's a can venions factor involved.
- 9:01Speaker 3: But like if you're talking about this Christmas, like gun technology.
- 9:03Speaker 3: This is a game changer.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Yeah, you just get You got to go buy them
- 9:06Speaker 4: now because if you wait till December, every home depot
- 9:10Speaker 4: lows they all sold out of it.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing. It's like, I'm starting to learn
- 9:13Speaker 3: this now. I don't think I don't feel like you
- 9:15Speaker 3: used to be like this. I tried to go buy
- 9:17Speaker 3: one of those giant skeletons for Halloween, like that's coming
- 9:20Speaker 3: out of the ground that would say, I think they
- 9:22Speaker 3: were getting at Costco or whatever. I tried to do
- 9:24Speaker 3: that like October one, and I told my wife. I
- 9:27Speaker 3: was like, hey, let's go to Costco s week, Let's
- 9:28Speaker 3: go get one of those big And she just laughed
- 9:29Speaker 3: at me, and she's like, hah, that's funny. That's cute
- 9:32Speaker 3: that you think you can get Halloween decorations thirty one
- 9:34Speaker 3: days before Halloween.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Start trying to get candy the night of Yeah, yeah
- 9:38Speaker 4: I know. I say, hey, can you pick up some
- 9:39Speaker 4: candy on the way home?
- 9:40Speaker 3: Like where? Yah? Yeah, good luck with that. So anyway,
- 9:45Speaker 3: that's intriguing. So real Christmas trees. Do you have you
- 9:48Speaker 3: ever done to cut your own cut your own Christmas tree?
- 9:51Speaker 3: Like when you're in Detroit or anything in Detroit.
- 9:53Speaker 4: We had like one of them two foot faked ones
- 9:55Speaker 4: that it was me and will Heller. Yeah, we weren't
- 9:57Speaker 4: going to decorate too much. I think I spent in Detroit.
- 10:01Speaker 4: We played on Christmas Day against Miami, Okay, and so
- 10:05Speaker 4: we were down in Miami for Christmas, came back and
- 10:08Speaker 4: my mom came up there because she still wanted to
- 10:09Speaker 4: have Christmas friends.
- 10:11Speaker 3: But yeah, it was we did. There was one year,
- 10:13Speaker 3: I think it was that, probably the same year we
- 10:15Speaker 3: played Thanksgiving Day, probably against Detroit, Christmas Day and New
- 10:21Speaker 3: Year's Day. So it was like every single holiday we're
- 10:23Speaker 3: playing on that day.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Well, you always had you had some good games against Detroit.
- 10:28Speaker 4: It was always fun sitting on the sideline trying to
- 10:31Speaker 4: be happy for you. Can't show that I'm happy for you,
- 10:33Speaker 4: cheering inside.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Come on.
- 10:35Speaker 4: My dad tells the story and it's still his favorite
- 10:37Speaker 4: story in the world when he came up there when
- 10:40Speaker 4: we were playing in Detroit. Yeah, in Detroit and me
- 10:43Speaker 4: and my dad would pick up you and Aaron and
- 10:45Speaker 4: what was it was it?
- 10:46Speaker 3: Graham Harrollias Me, Graham and Aaron and the quarterback.
- 10:50Speaker 4: Yeah, and Aaron's trying to hide with his beanie covering
- 10:52Speaker 4: up and they're like, take your head off, sir, like,
- 10:54Speaker 4: so he's like, oh whatever. We get back over there
- 10:57Speaker 4: and then you know, nicest steakhouse that we could find
- 11:00Speaker 4: over there, hanging out and you know, Aaron gets a
- 11:03Speaker 4: bowl of spaghetti and meatballs.
- 11:05Speaker 3: So we're sitting in the car blood.
- 11:07Speaker 4: And then the check comes out and my dad's like,
- 11:09Speaker 4: I got it, and Aaron's like, no, no, I got it.
- 11:10Speaker 3: He said, no, I got it.
- 11:12Speaker 4: He did that just so you me was like, I
- 11:15Speaker 4: bought Aaron Rodgers and Matt Flinn my big dog.
- 11:18Speaker 3: In my bottom.
- 11:19Speaker 4: But his favorite part of the story is like, but
- 11:21Speaker 4: I got kind of lucky because they had to play
- 11:22Speaker 4: the next day, so they weren't drinking.
- 11:25Speaker 3: If they were drinking, i'd probably made them pay. Yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 3: definitely made that pay. Yeah, that's so funny. Yeah, that
- 11:30Speaker 3: was we were staying so far out that that trip,
- 11:33Speaker 3: I don't know what you're saying, almost got stuck.
- 11:36Speaker 4: There, remember, because that's when y'all were going to Minnesota
- 11:39Speaker 4: and the dome collaps.
- 11:40Speaker 3: All's right, that's right, And so y'all.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Were trying to figure out planes and then it got dangerous.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Now that we're thinking about, well, yeah, well are we
- 11:48Speaker 4: going to we all want to go out tonight and
- 11:51Speaker 4: we'll gonna be in town. We might as well go
- 11:52Speaker 4: do something.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I was like, yeah that when the Dome fell down,
- 11:54Speaker 3: they played at the University of Minnesota Field for the
- 11:57Speaker 3: remainder of the season, and we liked that because we
- 11:59Speaker 3: never we didn't end up playing.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Maybe we were supposed to play their next I know
- 12:02Speaker 4: one of us was supposed to play their next.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I can't remember if we had played them at the
- 12:07Speaker 3: Dome earlier in the year. I just can't remember how
- 12:09Speaker 3: all that worked out. But I remember watching those like
- 12:11Speaker 3: late December games when the Vikings were playing in Minnesota,
- 12:15Speaker 3: and it looked so brutal.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Like I love the history of the Packers. There's nothing
- 12:20Speaker 4: I hate more than a cold football game.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Okay, oh, that's that's a great question. So Jake and
- 12:25Speaker 3: I talked about this yesterday and we disagreed on it.
- 12:28Speaker 3: In your opinion in Richard the Dick Dixon opinion, what
- 12:32Speaker 3: is football weather? How it is right now?
- 12:36Speaker 4: Like sixties, fifties, sixties, sixties.
- 12:39Speaker 3: And sixties is good.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I'm like, you know, growing up in the South, we
- 12:44Speaker 4: always felt like we beat teams early, especially when we
- 12:47Speaker 4: played somebody up north code.
- 12:48Speaker 3: We had such brutal summers.
- 12:49Speaker 4: But by the time you got into you know, late
- 12:52Speaker 4: October November when it started, when you could go out
- 12:54Speaker 4: there and wear like long sleeves at practice and you know,
- 12:57Speaker 4: it just was cool.
- 12:59Speaker 3: It was perfect football. Yeah, okay, I think cold weather
- 13:03Speaker 3: and not like there's the lemons of green Bery.
- 13:05Speaker 4: You didn't I remember when you first got there, how
- 13:07Speaker 4: much you complain about putting vaseline in your nostrils to
- 13:10Speaker 4: keep them from freezing.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah, because you had to keep the boggers from freezing,
- 13:13Speaker 3: so you had to put bas lane in your nostronge. Now, okay,
- 13:16Speaker 3: there's a limit, the limitation to that. But in my opinion,
- 13:19Speaker 3: football weather's like in the thirties. If I had to guess,
- 13:22Speaker 3: and I would say you could dip in the twenties
- 13:24Speaker 3: a little bit, but thirties, lower forties, that's probably to
- 13:27Speaker 3: me prime football, because cold weather football is usually football
- 13:33Speaker 3: that matters by every week matters, every game matters, and
- 13:36Speaker 3: so like it hurts more like the biggest games are
- 13:39Speaker 3: used like like even in high school, like if you
- 13:41Speaker 3: got to the state championship, your playoff games you had
- 13:44Speaker 3: never played for them South. I was from Texas, Like
- 13:47Speaker 3: you were in hot every single day. But like so,
- 13:50Speaker 3: cold weather to me signified the biggest games, and it does.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Got the playoff games, you have bowl games, you have
- 13:55Speaker 3: all these different things. It's always at the end of
- 13:57Speaker 3: the season where everything's coming together. You're playing in for
- 14:00Speaker 3: the most, it's the most on the line.
- 14:02Speaker 4: High school didn't bother me because it didn't come off
- 14:04Speaker 4: the field, you know, so you never got cold once.
- 14:06Speaker 4: The coldest part was warm ups, and then once you
- 14:08Speaker 4: were you know, I played offense, defense. Special teams didn't
- 14:10Speaker 4: come off the field, so I never got cold. Right
- 14:13Speaker 4: when I got to college and you weren't playing both ways,
- 14:15Speaker 4: and then you have an offensive series and then if
- 14:18Speaker 4: they had a long offensive drive and you had to
- 14:20Speaker 4: go sit on a bench in the cold waiting to
- 14:21Speaker 4: get go back out there, right, we didn't. It's not
- 14:23Speaker 4: like in the NFL. We didn't all have no no,
- 14:26Speaker 4: we didn't have heat benches, we didn't have the big heaters,
- 14:28Speaker 4: we didn't have the jackets. I mean we just sat
- 14:30Speaker 4: there and froze our butts off of it. There was
- 14:32Speaker 4: a few heaters, and it was always the guys that
- 14:34Speaker 4: weren't playing that would sit there and the coach would
- 14:36Speaker 4: like get out of there.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Oh no, that's wild. It's uh yeah, we believe certainly
- 14:42Speaker 3: been in some cold situations. But yeah, I think, like
- 14:45Speaker 3: but Jake was saying, hot, humid one hundred plus degrees
- 14:50Speaker 3: is football weather.
- 14:50Speaker 4: It made you feel like a man, like going out
- 14:53Speaker 4: there and like.
- 14:53Speaker 3: A sweaty man. You know. I was thinking about how.
- 14:56Speaker 4: You know, our practice back then, and if I'm trying
- 14:59Speaker 4: to remember if it was seven of six, what was
- 15:02Speaker 4: the one when the coaches got in a fight, like
- 15:05Speaker 4: arguing and we ended up running like thirty something.
- 15:06Speaker 3: That was before six? Before six? It could no, so
- 15:11Speaker 3: six because it was it was not Miles first year.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Yeah, so so six? Well, yeah, I know because I
- 15:17Speaker 4: was there and I wasn't second year. Yeah, because Jim
- 15:20Speaker 4: Jimbo wasn't here. No seven, that's right, that's right. So
- 15:22Speaker 4: it was six. That was the one. Like I remember
- 15:25Speaker 4: when you hear stories of like bad things happening and
- 15:27Speaker 4: kids getting overheated, like that was probably the scariest time
- 15:30Speaker 4: in football when I just remember like bodies getting drug
- 15:33Speaker 4: off the field and they didn't care. They're like, no,
- 15:35Speaker 4: y'all are still running and they're just dragging them off
- 15:37Speaker 4: the field. Moved the drill and they just kept going.
- 15:40Speaker 4: And then you know, everybody's dying trying to keep up.
- 15:42Speaker 4: And I remember getting to the practice being over and
- 15:46Speaker 4: there was no more ivs available. They were running, people
- 15:50Speaker 4: were sitting on the floor of the round, were tables,
- 15:51Speaker 4: There were people dragging guys into the shower just to
- 15:54Speaker 4: freaking getting cool down.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Yeah, football is a wild time sometimes the practice because
- 15:58Speaker 3: like the drill, football is bigger than one individ person, right,
- 16:00Speaker 3: so things have to go. You can't just like unless
- 16:02Speaker 3: something crazy like a damor hamlin thing happens, like then
- 16:05Speaker 3: then things stop, like if just injuries. I remember, you know,
- 16:08Speaker 3: there's a guy broke his ankle and practice one time
- 16:10Speaker 3: at LSU and like literally the side of his foot
- 16:12Speaker 3: is touching his calf up like we just moved to
- 16:15Speaker 3: drill fifteen yards and so they can deal with it,
- 16:17Speaker 3: like we don't care. Yeah I can't. I good luck, bud,
- 16:20Speaker 3: good luck with that ankle. Yea.
- 16:21Speaker 4: But yeah, especially when it was your bud, You're like, oh,
- 16:23Speaker 4: I want to go check on go. Yeah, we're not
- 16:25Speaker 4: practicing stuff, all right, Well you know, just football whole
- 16:30Speaker 4: war stories here. Sorry about that.
- 16:31Speaker 3: If you don't like taking a trip down memory lane,
- 16:33Speaker 3: this might not be the hour for you. But we're
- 16:35Speaker 3: gonna keep it going. Here, we're gonna go to break.
- 16:37Speaker 3: When we come back, I'm gonna get Richard Taylor Alandra.

- 19:02Speaker 3: is out dealing with a little uh little tummy, little
- 19:06Speaker 3: tom tummy. She knew it was.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Coming the whole house, out of the whole house.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it spread. It's like wildfire. The same thing happens
- 19:11Speaker 3: in our house. When somebody gets it, you know, it
- 19:13Speaker 3: usually takes a couple of weeks to get through everybody.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I feel like I'm the last one usually. Yeah, I
- 19:19Speaker 3: can see that. I feel like I am too.
- 19:21Speaker 4: And I'm also out of the house the most. Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 4: you know, it finally catches up with her.
- 19:25Speaker 3: So when they start, when the kids start getting sick,
- 19:27Speaker 3: Like you know, Lacey and I we're just walking, we're
- 19:29Speaker 3: whistling by the graveyard at that point, we just we
- 19:31Speaker 3: know it's waiting, just waiting, And.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I feel bad for my wife once she gets sick.
- 19:34Speaker 4: I'm like, I gotta go do all this stuff. Oh no, sorry,
- 19:40Speaker 4: I can't help you.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Sorry. Yeah, I want to tell you a little bit
- 19:43Speaker 3: about l su snacks. Richard having that little bag right there?
- 19:46Speaker 3: Are they good? LSU snacks? Heck yill there are they good?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Are you kidding me? Look at this's got the ls.
- 19:50Speaker 3: You got the tiger on the LSU snacks. We got
- 19:53Speaker 3: the the wind bar, pretty clever, right win bar, and
- 19:57Speaker 3: we got the win cookies fight right here. Then you
- 19:59Speaker 3: got the win. So every bite supports the LSU by
- 20:03Speaker 3: purchasing and enjoying and sharing win which is these win

- 20:25Speaker 3: think I walked by earlier. They're right by the cash
- 20:27Speaker 3: registers too, So like, do you want to support athletes,
- 20:29Speaker 3: you want to support l s U, Go pick up
- 20:31Speaker 3: some snacks. I'm gonna go buy them by checking a
- 20:33Speaker 3: little win bar, have a little clever name for you. Yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 3: we just buy them by the face gives them out
- 20:37Speaker 3: the customers. It's not like a snack on.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Yeah exactly, I'm about to go expense that right now.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Yeah, especially if you like, got some people you work
- 20:44Speaker 3: with that might like Arkansas. Here's a win bar bud. Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I don't work with any Arkansas fans. Got Like I said,
- 20:50Speaker 4: I got the family Arkansas fans. But they all are
- 20:54Speaker 4: big l Shues fans. Is what's funny. They're big Arkansas
- 20:58Speaker 4: fans and they're the only game that you against LSU
- 21:00Speaker 4: was when Arkansas is playing l s U every game.
- 21:02Speaker 4: The other game they're wearing LSU gear.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Wow, just not this week. I think Helms is
- 21:09Speaker 3: coming in.
- 21:10Speaker 4: I heard you He's coming on Friday, I believe. So
- 21:13Speaker 4: that's I probably won't see him.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Hey, you know his whole wife and your family. Of course,
- 21:18Speaker 3: they're all Arkansas, Arkansas folks except for the except for
- 21:21Speaker 3: the Helms is.
- 21:21Speaker 4: No Helms wears a little little maroon every once in
- 21:24Speaker 4: a while. Let's think about all.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Let's see their pictures, all the dang maroon ish dark
- 21:28Speaker 3: red ish teams in the SEC. I just never really
- 21:31Speaker 3: like thought about it until this morning.
- 21:33Speaker 4: All of them, miss Many State, Arkansas, South Carolina, Alabama.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Texas A and MT.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a popular color for the popular color schools.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I don't understand. I mean, you look around at other conferences,
- 21:47Speaker 3: you don't see that many. No, it's just in the SEC.
- 21:50Speaker 3: I mean tough color, tough color. Obviously it's not. I mean,
- 21:55Speaker 3: I mean that so many SEC teams.
- 21:57Speaker 4: I just I feel like it's tough guys, tough people.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I mean, think about like so MISISPI. State has never
- 22:02Speaker 4: been really good in our era, but I always felt
- 22:05Speaker 4: like that was the game.
- 22:06Speaker 3: I felt the most beat up after. Oh I just
- 22:09Speaker 3: broke a chair. Goodness, that wasn't my back. Let's try
- 22:14Speaker 3: to pop my back. You're awake, though, I'll just broke
- 22:16Speaker 3: a chair. People. What about these tickets? To me? I
- 22:19Speaker 3: think it's obvious all the ticket prices. Oh, we're gonna
- 22:22Speaker 3: go through. All right, let's do it. Let's play a
- 22:24Speaker 3: little guess the what is it? Call it? Guess the ticket,
- 22:27Speaker 3: Guess the price the ticket? Whatever we call it? Price
- 22:29Speaker 3: is right? What did you say? What's the ticket? What's
- 22:32Speaker 3: the ticket? What's the ticket? All right? Yeah, I'm I'm
- 22:35Speaker 3: dummy sometimes. All right, So what we're gonna do. We're
- 22:36Speaker 3: gonna start with the lowest ticket price in the country
- 22:40Speaker 3: around the scene. So it's got to have a top
- 22:41Speaker 3: twenty five team. Minute, So we're gonna go. I'm gonna
- 22:43Speaker 3: give you. I'm gonna give you six games, so in
- 22:45Speaker 3: your brain, you gotta remember, you gotta think a little bit, Richard.
- 22:48Speaker 3: All Right, So we're gonna go with Clemson at Louisville, Okay,
- 22:53Speaker 3: Minnesota at Oregon, South Florida at Navy, Arizona at Cincinnati,
- 23:04Speaker 3: Utah at Baylor, Michigan at Northwestern. Okay, I'm gonna read
- 23:09Speaker 3: him again, quicker, Clemson at Louisville, Minnesota at Oregon, South
- 23:13Speaker 3: Florida at Navy, Arizona at Cincy, Utah at Baylor, Michigan
- 23:18Speaker 3: at Northwestern. Let's rich I'm gonna give you a little
- 23:21Speaker 3: time to think about it. Let's kick it back over
- 23:23Speaker 3: to the studio. Let's go to laundro and tay Day.
- 23:26Speaker 5: I kind of feel like it has to be Northwestern
- 23:28Speaker 5: because I don't feel like people really care about football
- 23:31Speaker 5: up there.
- 23:32Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 23:34Speaker 6: I was in between that one and Navy, and she
- 23:36Speaker 6: went Northwestern, and I'll go Navy, South Florida.
- 23:41Speaker 3: All right, Richard, That's where I was going Navy, South Florida. Navy,
- 23:44Speaker 3: South Florida. It's okay. This is one of those things
- 23:46Speaker 3: you don't have to be different. You can choose the
- 23:47Speaker 3: same because if you're right.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Hope and Taylor was still stuck in traffic. He made
- 23:51Speaker 4: it back, all right, So here we go.
- 23:54Speaker 3: The number six, all right, number six on this list,
- 23:59Speaker 3: the most out of those, at least out of the
- 24:01Speaker 3: out of this group. Michigan at Northwestern is actually I
- 24:05Speaker 3: kind of tricked you on that one. Is actually one
- 24:07Speaker 3: hundred and seventy nine dollars for that ticket. I thought
- 24:10Speaker 3: the same thing when I was looking at a launder
- 24:11Speaker 3: I was like, Northwestern, Yeah right, Michigan, okay, kind of garbage.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Connor stallions one hundred and seventy up for that one,
- 24:17Speaker 3: all right. The fifth most expensive or the least expensive,
- 24:20Speaker 3: South Florida at Navy. So nobody y'all got the most
- 24:23Speaker 3: expensive out of this. All of y'all did, all right.
- 24:25Speaker 3: The next one, the fourth is Clemson at Louisville at
- 24:28Speaker 3: forty five dollars apiece, and then Minnesota at Oregon thirty
- 24:33Speaker 3: four dollars. Get you into that game. And then Arizona
- 24:37Speaker 3: at Cincinnati twenty nine dollars and the cheapest of this
- 24:42Speaker 3: list this week Utah at Baylor, which is a little
- 24:45Speaker 3: surprised because it's at Baylor smaller stadium, so usually when
- 24:48Speaker 3: I do this game, I'm like thinking about the size
- 24:50Speaker 3: of the stadium. You know who the opponent is coming
- 24:52Speaker 3: in and Taylor, I know what you're thinking too, But
- 24:56Speaker 3: Miami's playing a home game. I didn't even put them
- 24:58Speaker 3: on the list because they win every single week. Is
- 25:00Speaker 3: the cheapest ticket North Carolina State at Miami. Do you
- 25:04Speaker 3: want to take a guest Richard at what it takes
- 25:06Speaker 3: to get get into the gates? Five dollars. That's a
- 25:09Speaker 3: little cheap seven dollars in the past has spent as
- 25:11Speaker 3: I think a six dollars ticket, But seven bucks, I
- 25:13Speaker 3: guess that ticket prices are up. North Carolina State's coming
- 25:17Speaker 3: into town, so yeah, seven dollars will get into that.
- 25:20Speaker 3: But from our game, Yeah, the number of the cheapest
- 25:22Speaker 3: ticket twenty two bucks for Utah State at Baylor, which
- 25:25Speaker 3: is surprising because Baylor's got a good little fan base.
- 25:27Speaker 4: The reason why I guessed five is when I opened
- 25:29Speaker 4: up this laptop over here, I didn't get to cheap
- 25:32Speaker 4: because none of the games that.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Were on here. As you said, I was pulled up.
- 25:35Speaker 4: But it's disappointing, depressing and said that LSU Arkansas is a.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Six dollar ticket.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Yeah, LSU Arkansas in Baton Rouge six dollar ticket.
- 25:46Speaker 3: So when you were.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Trying to talk bad about the other one, I was like,
- 25:49Speaker 4: it's got to be cheaper than LSU and it's not
- 25:51Speaker 4: still more expensive than other shoes to see.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I didn't even see that ticket price pop up because
- 25:54Speaker 3: obviously nobody's in the top twenty five in that game.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Is it really six six dollars to get into that
- 25:59Speaker 3: six Holy hell, that's embarrassing to get in to Death Valley?
- 26:04Speaker 3: And I got people still asking me for free tickets. Good,
- 26:07Speaker 3: go buy that ticket.
- 26:09Speaker 4: I don't want to expense a six dollars ticket.
- 26:12Speaker 3: That's a lot of receipt turning in right there. All right,
- 26:14Speaker 3: let's go over to the most expensive ticket in the
- 26:16Speaker 3: country this week in the top twenty five. All right,
- 26:19Speaker 3: let's start with South Carolina at Texas, A and m
- 26:23Speaker 3: Wisconsin at Indiana, Notre Dame at pitt Oklahoma. Traveling over
- 26:29Speaker 3: to Bama, Florida at Ole, Miss Texas at Georgia again,
- 26:34Speaker 3: South Carolina at A and m Wisconsin at Indiana, Notre
- 26:38Speaker 3: Dame at Pitt, Oklahoma at Bama, Florida at Ole, Miss,
- 26:41Speaker 3: Texas at Georgia. Richard, We're gonna start with you this time.
- 26:47Speaker 4: I'm gonna Notre Dame or Pitt or Georgia Florida or
- 26:51Speaker 4: Georgia Texas.
- 26:54Speaker 3: I'm gonna go.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I'm gonna go Notre Dame Pitt because I think it's
- 26:58Speaker 4: the first time game day has been I think I
- 27:00Speaker 4: heard like twenty something years might bring in.
- 27:02Speaker 3: The last pip.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of extra people into the game.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Well fanfare, huh. All right, it's kick it back over
- 27:07Speaker 3: to the studio.
- 27:09Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Texas at Georgia.
- 27:12Speaker 6: I was gonna try to be different, but I can't.
- 27:14Speaker 6: I'm also gonna go Texas at Georgia.
- 27:17Speaker 3: All right, very good, All right. I went away from
- 27:19Speaker 3: that because we'd all through that. That'd have been like
- 27:21Speaker 3: electric radio for sure if you would have done it. Richard,
- 27:23Speaker 3: all right, let's go the sixth on the list. So
- 27:27Speaker 3: out of this group, the least expensive is Oklahoma at Bama,
- 27:32Speaker 3: which is it's forty one dollars to get into that game.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Forty one bucks football not cool. Anymore. I know that
- 27:38Speaker 3: especially with Bama. I know this is the size of
- 27:40Speaker 3: the stadium, but I mean that's the top twenty five
- 27:42Speaker 3: matchup right there. Oklahoma's eleven yes year coming out a
- 27:45Speaker 3: year number four in the country. That's forty one dollars
- 27:48Speaker 3: to get in the Bamagain, that one actually kind of
- 27:50Speaker 3: surprised me at this whole deal. All right. The next
- 27:53Speaker 3: one is Wisconsin at Indiana one hundred and five bucks.
- 27:56Speaker 3: We'll get you in to see the Badges taking on
- 27:59Speaker 3: Fernando Mendos Gang. Then the fourth one, I'm sorry Richard
- 28:03Speaker 3: Notre Dame at pitt You can get into that one
- 28:05Speaker 3: for one hundred and fifteen smack aoos. And then try
- 28:09Speaker 3: to be the third on the list. Florida at Old Miss.
- 28:13Speaker 3: One hundred and fifty seven dollars will get you a
- 28:15Speaker 3: ticket into that game. And then drum roll please, the
- 28:19Speaker 3: number two. It is like this is like a pageant.
- 28:22Speaker 3: It was like first runner up, Yeah, first run up,
- 28:25Speaker 3: first loser. South Carolina at Texas A and M one
- 28:29Speaker 3: hundred ninety four dollars will get you in to Kyle Field.
- 28:33Speaker 3: And then the most expensive ticket in the country. Week
- 28:36Speaker 3: twelve college football, you guessed it elandro Tte ding ding
- 28:40Speaker 3: ding ding ding ding you win.
- 28:42Speaker 4: So I didn't want to cheat. That ark is also
- 28:45Speaker 4: on the screen. Oh come on, what the Notre Dame
- 28:48Speaker 4: game wasn't So I was just gonna gamble and picked
- 28:50Speaker 4: the one.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I didn't see the fighting arc Manning's headed on the road,
- 28:54Speaker 3: did jo Jah two hundred and thirty eight dollars. We'll
- 28:57Speaker 3: get you into that game, which is actually one of
- 28:59Speaker 3: the deeper most expensive prices of the week of the year.
- 29:03Speaker 3: I think the most expensive one was Oregon at Penn
- 29:09Speaker 3: State in the wide out early in the season. It
- 29:11Speaker 3: was four hundred and eleven dollars per ticket to get
- 29:13Speaker 3: in that one, and there's one hundred, like one hundred
- 29:15Speaker 3: and ten seats two one hundred and ten thousand seats
- 29:18Speaker 3: in that state. It makes some money. Yeah, I think
- 29:20Speaker 3: we did the math, like if you were going based
- 29:21Speaker 3: on that, and I know this is all resale values
- 29:23Speaker 3: and all that, it's not like the ticket value. I
- 29:25Speaker 3: get it, But if you just did that math, it
- 29:27Speaker 3: was like over one hundred million.

- 32:03Speaker 3: And I guess he's got to go talk like real
- 32:05Speaker 3: sports with Hanny for a little bit.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I don't believe that.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I guess not a lot a ton of like just
- 32:10Speaker 3: crazy real sports being talked here today.
- 32:12Speaker 1: But I mean, well, if you're hoping for it to happen, now, yeah, awesome,
- 32:18Speaker 1: really bad news for you. I know.
- 32:20Speaker 3: So I know you were just listening, but we had
- 32:22Speaker 3: the what's the ticket? And I just saw someone in
- 32:24Speaker 3: the chat here. You're gonna find it Nelson in the chat.
- 32:28Speaker 3: So the cheapest ticket for LSU women's basketball versus two
- 32:31Speaker 3: Lane is eighty four dollars, which is twelve times more
- 32:34Speaker 3: expensive than the tickets to get into a Miami football
- 32:38Speaker 3: game this week.
- 32:39Speaker 2: That's incredible, incredible?
- 32:40Speaker 3: Is that good for us? Good?
- 32:42Speaker 1: I mean U LSU Women's U LSU women's basketball, And
- 32:45Speaker 1: you keep doing your think Kim Molky is she is.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Back in action.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I saw her her sweater. She's back into her crazy outfits.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I love the what's the what's the fun? Mike's name?
- 32:54Speaker 3: I forget the old Mike logo with the hat on.
- 32:57Speaker 3: I can't remember what his name is, but she had
- 32:59Speaker 3: that on her.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Yep.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, I'm probably not the one to ask on
- 33:03Speaker 1: I'm not just s.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Have walk, bully. Thank you.
- 33:08Speaker 3: So you've been Missippi State a couple of times this year, right,
- 33:10Speaker 3: I have?
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 33:11Speaker 2: I was there.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I was there last weekend for the Georgia game, which
- 33:16Speaker 1: you know, was really something. It was something for about
- 33:21Speaker 1: seven minutes where Mississippi State led us to believe they
- 33:26Speaker 1: might show up. They do that every time. And then
- 33:30Speaker 1: my kids. I took my kids to the game. So
- 33:32Speaker 1: they've gotten to the age where I feel like I'm
- 33:34Speaker 1: comfortable about taking them to the games. But I feel
- 33:36Speaker 1: like kids are so spoiled now. I take my kids
- 33:38Speaker 1: of the game, they won't snacks. They're like, where's my tablet?
- 33:40Speaker 1: Which I don't bring, but like they're still asking for it.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I can remember so many times growing up where my
- 33:46Speaker 1: dad took me to football games.
- 33:48Speaker 2: I didn't have a tablet.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I was not allowed to leave, like I had to
- 33:51Speaker 1: sit there and just be there.
- 33:53Speaker 3: You know.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Well, anyways, so I take my kids back to the tailgate.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I guess around the end of the first quarter, and
- 33:58Speaker 1: from the time I left the state to the time
- 34:00Speaker 1: I made it back to the tailgate, everything had.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Just fallen apart everything.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Yeah, everything.
- 34:04Speaker 3: But you know, you get as a parent, like you
- 34:08Speaker 3: you get judged a lot. I feel like by an
- 34:12Speaker 3: older generation at restaurants or aut things like when you
- 34:14Speaker 3: have iPad. Yes, but like I remember, like our parents
- 34:18Speaker 3: would give us their generations up.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, like whatever it was.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Yeah, that's where do you think crayon menus came from?
- 34:24Speaker 3: A distract?
- 34:26Speaker 2: Exactly?
- 34:26Speaker 3: If our parents had.
- 34:27Speaker 2: To take my magrata in peace, you know, if.
- 34:30Speaker 3: They had access to iPads, you don't think Ruth and
- 34:33Speaker 3: Album Forever were giving me an iPad if I was
- 34:35Speaker 3: like misbehavior.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I know, I try to think about it.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I mean, I definitely feel like my parents would have,
- 34:40Speaker 1: but they didn't.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I mean, gosh, I tell this story.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I went to I was at the snow Bowl, which
- 34:45Speaker 1: was the Independence Bowl Missoot State, Texas A and m
- 34:49Speaker 1: I guess.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I was going into eighth grade.
- 34:52Speaker 1: I don't know, it was like my eighth grade year,
- 34:54Speaker 1: but I was so mad about it. My dad makes
- 34:57Speaker 1: me go to this Bowl game in Shreveport, Louisiana, and
- 35:00Speaker 1: it's New Year's Eve. All my friends are doing something fun,
- 35:04Speaker 1: so I.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Have to get this game.
- 35:05Speaker 1: And I just remember him sitting me down before we
- 35:06Speaker 1: left for the game because it was cold, and him
- 35:09Speaker 1: being like, I don't care what you have to do,
- 35:11Speaker 1: layer it up, put whatever on you need to.
- 35:14Speaker 2: We are not leaving this game. You are there.
- 35:17Speaker 1: And you know what, we did not leave that game,
- 35:19Speaker 1: which was cool now in retrospect because we won, but uh,
- 35:22Speaker 1: there was there were times during that game where I
- 35:24Speaker 1: was like, I hate this.
- 35:25Speaker 3: This is all tough it.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Out, check it out.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Yeah, sorry, not sorry about you, just this is what
- 35:30Speaker 3: we do.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Well, I'm not as tough as my dad, because my
- 35:31Speaker 1: kids started complaining.
- 35:32Speaker 2: And I was like, well, we're gonna leave. Now, we're
- 35:36Speaker 2: gonna leave.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Now, Well that's all right. It's uh, it's just every
- 35:41Speaker 3: parent goes through it. There's no handbook for that. We
- 35:43Speaker 3: got to figure it out. Uh huh. You got to
- 35:44Speaker 3: toughen up your kids as much as they you know,
- 35:47Speaker 3: as you feel they can be tough enough.
- 35:48Speaker 1: I will say I'm pretty proud of me and my husband.
- 35:51Speaker 1: We don't give my kids the tablet a lot unless
- 35:54Speaker 1: they know that, like I go to We don't have
- 35:55Speaker 1: a lot of family traditions, but one of my only
- 35:57Speaker 1: family traditions is that we go to Superior every Friday night.
- 36:00Speaker 1: There you go, and they know they get the tablet
- 36:02Speaker 1: at Superior.
- 36:03Speaker 3: There you go. So I look forward to that. Yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 3: we limited. It's like a reward system in our situation.
- 36:07Speaker 3: So it's not there are like because of that. Sometimes
- 36:11Speaker 3: the access they have to information where you got. Of
- 36:13Speaker 3: course you gotta be careful with ye our kids are
- 36:15Speaker 3: way smarter.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Than like, be real careful with YouTube, you.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Know, even unless you're watching off the bench.
- 36:21Speaker 2: And smashing, unless you are watching off the bench.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Well, okay, so I was in Starkville. I went to
- 36:26Speaker 1: the Georgia game. But before that, the night before I
- 36:28Speaker 1: went to something very interesting that I think I'm so
- 36:31Speaker 1: confused as to while as she has not done this,
- 36:33Speaker 1: but it was I went to an alumni baseball game
- 36:36Speaker 1: in the Mississippi State game.
- 36:38Speaker 2: And so they.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Brought Rafael Palmero and Will Clark back and it was
- 36:43Speaker 1: the Diamond Doll Classic, and so they both coached teams.
- 36:46Speaker 1: They drafted their teams of all former Mississippi State baseball players,
- 36:52Speaker 1: some who obviously like went on to play in the
- 36:55Speaker 1: professional league, some of them didn't.
- 36:58Speaker 2: It was a good mix of bow. But they went
- 37:00Speaker 2: out there and.
- 37:01Speaker 1: You were asking here, like was this like a softball game? No,
- 37:03Speaker 1: it was straight up base They played baseball. They aired
- 37:06Speaker 1: it on the SEC network. Plus every single dollar that
- 37:09Speaker 1: was brought in from the Diamond Dog Classic went to
- 37:12Speaker 1: the Bulldog Initiative, which is the NIL thing for Missoppi State,
- 37:17Speaker 1: and they like they auctioned off experiences and like batting
- 37:20Speaker 1: practice before SEC games or a suite or signed jerseys.
- 37:24Speaker 1: But anyways, all that money went to the NIL, like
- 37:27Speaker 1: the collective. And I just wonder why LSU is not
- 37:32Speaker 1: looking in to do especially for baseball.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Especially if somebody's already got the blueprint for it. Yeah.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Do you think at this point in your life, as
- 37:41Speaker 1: a former professional athlete and football player at LSQ, that
- 37:45Speaker 1: you could go back on that field and just perform?
- 37:48Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you think tackle football.
- 37:54Speaker 2: It's a little different than baseball.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Jake and I told the story a couple of weeks ago.
- 37:57Speaker 3: We did the We played a flag football game where
- 37:59Speaker 3: we had to run for speed because.
- 38:01Speaker 1: We couldn't walk up the stairs the next day.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but we did it. We did, but there was
- 38:05Speaker 3: a grown human man chasing us, and we haven't been
- 38:08Speaker 3: chased by like a grown human in a while.
- 38:10Speaker 2: That's true.
- 38:11Speaker 1: These baseball players were not getting tackled so like, but
- 38:13Speaker 1: you know.
- 38:14Speaker 2: They were some of these pictures.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I know one of the pictures I mean was older
- 38:18Speaker 1: than me, or some of them might have. I know
- 38:20Speaker 1: that I ran into a former picture before I went
- 38:23Speaker 1: to the game and I was asking him. I was like, wait,
- 38:24Speaker 1: so you're not doing it, and he's like, no, you can.
- 38:26Speaker 1: You're not getting me out there. He was like, but
- 38:28Speaker 1: I did offer to do batting practice with some of
- 38:30Speaker 1: you know, the guys that are my age, like hittings
- 38:32Speaker 1: see if they wanted to like go out there, but man,
- 38:34Speaker 1: I just don't know that blink my body would perform.
- 38:39Speaker 3: We gave that up.
- 38:40Speaker 1: And you know what, though, to their credit to all
- 38:43Speaker 1: of these players, I mean, and again, the ages ranged
- 38:45Speaker 1: from I don't know, mid forties to like mid twenties,
- 38:50Speaker 1: and it's like these guys who haven't played in twenty
- 38:52Speaker 1: years pitching to Jake Mangum, you know.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Who was fresh.
- 38:55Speaker 1: He's fresh in the professional leagues.
- 38:58Speaker 3: So I was very it seems like a really like
- 39:00Speaker 3: a no brainer idea, like give your give your fan
- 39:02Speaker 3: base an opportunity to go.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Imagine I think I mean there were there were ten
- 39:06Speaker 1: thousand people at this game.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Imagine if l SU did that right.
- 39:09Speaker 3: And if you're listening l s U, you're like usually
- 39:12Speaker 3: raise money in those type of situations for like a
- 39:14Speaker 3: charitable cause whatever, But like, can you like and imagine
- 39:16Speaker 3: a fan base raising money to help buy Yeah, yeah,
- 39:20Speaker 3: that's it's pretty wild. We're living in that world. But
- 39:23Speaker 3: here we are.
- 39:24Speaker 1: We are.
- 39:26Speaker 2: We should get you out there.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Look, I've screwed kind of this whole flow up. We
- 39:29Speaker 3: were supposed to be parking in Parlay, and we're gonna
- 39:32Speaker 3: do it next time. We're going to close the show
- 39:33Speaker 3: out with that. So we got a little carried away
- 39:36Speaker 3: in the Mississippi State fund raising baseball game, which is
- 39:40Speaker 3: awesome because they got you know, Will Clark, Ruffel Palma,
- 39:42Speaker 3: all those guys, all those guys. But you know, this
- 39:44Speaker 3: is this is our show. We're killing it. Jake left us.
- 39:47Speaker 2: You're killing it. Before we go to break here, I
- 39:49Speaker 2: would like to give you some credit.
- 39:51Speaker 1: You were a little fluster when you showed up the
- 39:52Speaker 1: strorning nervous, you were a little frantic.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I'm so impressed you did great.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Old gang has stepped up. Taylor showing up.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Here with hands running systems.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Landra has like killed it to like working like two
- 40:08Speaker 3: systems back there video and like everybody stepped up, Ribs,
- 40:11Speaker 3: you stepped up. Richard came in out of the room.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I sent him, sent him an S O S. So
- 40:18Speaker 3: everybody came up so big shout out to the whole
- 40:19Speaker 3: team here. I appreciate it certainly, and I think we
- 40:22Speaker 3: all appreciate Jake appreciate it. So uh yeah, everybody today
- 40:26Speaker 3: has been a part of the Fox Hall and stepped up.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Next man up situation. But yeah, all right, so we're
- 40:30Speaker 3: gonna come back in our last segment here of the day.
- 40:32Speaker 3: We are going to get in make you some money

- 42:10Speaker 3: has been grown, milk packaged right here in South Louisiana
- 42:13Speaker 3: since nineteen thirty six. That means when you grab a
- 42:15Speaker 3: bag of Supreme rice, you're not just getting quality, you're
- 42:17Speaker 3: supporting Louisiana farmers, the Louisiana families, and Louisiana flavor. Whether
- 42:21Speaker 3: you're cooking up jumble eye for the tailgate, red beans
- 42:23Speaker 3: on Monday or family feast on Sunday, Supreme Rice always
- 42:26Speaker 3: cooks it up, light, fluffy, and full of that homegrown taste.
- 42:30Speaker 3: We all know rivers. What's your favorite type of rice?
- 42:31Speaker 3: I'm a medium grain guy.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Okay, jazzmin obviously, I really like jasmine.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Jazzmines you go to I like it?
- 42:38Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 42:38Speaker 3: Medium grain? Who just grain?
- 42:41Speaker 2: That's that media so specific.
- 42:42Speaker 3: It's the most underrated.
- 42:44Speaker 1: It's I'll tell you about me. One thing about me
- 42:46Speaker 1: is I'm going to eat rice. It doesn't matter what
- 42:49Speaker 1: kind of rice, like it doesn't matter. Yeah, it doesn't
- 42:52Speaker 1: matter what like the you know, jazzmine whatever. Yes, I'm
- 42:55Speaker 1: going to I'm going to eat all rice now really quick,
- 42:59Speaker 1: just a little pop quiz here, because the last time
- 43:02Speaker 1: I came to help set out, you all talked about
- 43:04Speaker 1: this that song.
- 43:05Speaker 2: That was playing on the way in there. Do you
- 43:07Speaker 2: know what that song was?
- 43:10Speaker 3: I'm trying to remember what it was?
- 43:11Speaker 2: One headlight?
- 43:12Speaker 3: Okay, do you see that?
- 43:14Speaker 2: Uh, the Wallflowers? Do you know who's the lead singers?
- 43:19Speaker 1: No?
- 43:19Speaker 3: I don't remember this. I don't remember this.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 43:22Speaker 3: I'm serious? Nobody does. Bob so Bob, that's right, that's
- 43:33Speaker 3: on me, Like that's still super obscure knowledge.
- 43:37Speaker 5: It's just not I just don't believe that.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Okay, we have to get to this because people got
- 43:46Speaker 3: to pay their bills next week. All right, So what
- 43:48Speaker 3: we're gonna do with Pontoon Parley. We'll see if we
- 43:50Speaker 3: have time for the party barge if not. If we

- 43:54Speaker 3: We'll tell everybody what it is. But all right, let's
- 43:56Speaker 3: kick it back to studio for our picks for the
- 43:59Speaker 3: pont parlay.
- 44:01Speaker 5: All right, So my pick for the parlay this week.
- 44:04Speaker 5: I'm looking at TCU versus b YU. BYU the four
- 44:08Speaker 5: and a half point favorite there now TCU is five
- 44:11Speaker 5: and five against the spread, so like about a fifty
- 44:14Speaker 5: percent chance for them to get it or not. But
- 44:17Speaker 5: I think I'm gonna go with TCU to cover versus BYU.
- 44:21Speaker 5: My plus four and a half.
- 44:23Speaker 6: Pit Panthers who playing really good football right now. They've
- 44:25Speaker 6: won five in a row, seven and two college game days.
- 44:28Speaker 3: There. Are they going to beat Notre Dame?
- 44:30Speaker 6: Probably not, but they are twelve and a half point
- 44:33Speaker 6: home underdogs. I'm gonna take PITT to cover the twelve
- 44:36Speaker 6: and a half at home against Notre Dame.
- 44:38Speaker 5: I like that pick.
- 44:38Speaker 2: I was looking at that one too.
- 44:42Speaker 3: God, Taylor, that was gonna be mine. Hey, riffs, you
- 44:46Speaker 3: want to jump in on.
- 44:47Speaker 2: I don't have any bets. I didn't know that this
- 44:49Speaker 2: is gonna be a thing.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Today, all right, six and a half versus.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Stop it stop Lolandre stop every time.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Every time? All right? So what I'm gonna do. I'm
- 45:00Speaker 3: gonna go over to I'm gonna go to Miami. The
- 45:03Speaker 3: seven dollars ticket North Carolina State traveling to play Miami
- 45:07Speaker 3: Miami started out hot, one of the best teams in
- 45:09Speaker 3: the country. It was Carson Beck gonna be that now
- 45:11Speaker 3: thurther is he gonna be in the Heisman Race? No,
- 45:13Speaker 3: I don't think so. Fourteen and a half points spreader,
- 45:15Speaker 3: I'm gonna take North Carolina State, saiding at five and four. Okay,
- 45:18Speaker 3: I get it. Not great, but there's not gonna be
- 45:21Speaker 3: much juice in that stadium. I'm gonna take North Carolina
- 45:24Speaker 3: State plus four and a half. I'm sorry, fourteen and
- 45:28Speaker 3: a half excuse me versus Miami.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I'm sure if Jake steps thrown up for long enough,
- 45:32Speaker 1: he'll sing all something.
- 45:34Speaker 2: He'll get that fourth win in. Can you get get
- 45:36Speaker 2: fourth one in?
- 45:36Speaker 3: Yeah? It's all right. So right now, it's gonna be
- 45:39Speaker 3: a three man pond two parlay. Actually, Leandra, you've been

- 45:50Speaker 5: Hang on, I'm not gonna do the Mississippi State one river.
- 45:53Speaker 5: Y'all can't hear her. But Rivers is, like I swear,
- 45:55Speaker 5: if you play Mississippi State, okay, I mean six and
- 45:58Speaker 5: a half is okay, Texas at Georgia. Georgia is a
- 46:05Speaker 5: six and a half point favorite, but the points is
- 46:09Speaker 5: forty nine and a half. I kind of am looking
- 46:13Speaker 5: at the over on that one. So over in Georgia
- 46:16Speaker 5: versus Texas. Yeah, over forty nine and a half.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Points, all right. So to recap TCU against BYU plus
