- 0:42Speaker 2: Doctor Trey. Did we see a Match of the Year
- 0:45Speaker 2: candidate this past weekend? My friend?
- 0:48Speaker 3: Oh, I mean that niat Jack's Bailey match was pretty smoking,
- 0:52Speaker 3: So I mean it's it's gotta be up.
- 0:54Speaker 2: There, jeffs I was talking about Rhea and Live, but
- 0:56Speaker 2: I guess I will digress from that. Welcome one and
- 1:00Speaker 2: all to this week's edition of SRTU. I am Jeff Peck,
- 1:04Speaker 2: Doctor Trey. Over there, Bad Blood Recap and review. We'll
- 1:08Speaker 2: talk a little bit about some of the business model
- 1:11Speaker 2: that WWE has been doing as of late during pl weekends.
- 1:15Speaker 2: AW has a major problem on its hand, and it
- 1:18Speaker 2: comes all from a former rival of theirs. Now and
- 1:22Speaker 2: of course, we will preview and predict a W. Russell
- 1:24Speaker 2: Dream taking place this Saturday from Tacoma, Washington, Doctor Trey.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Let's start with Bad Blood. It was this past Saturday
- 1:31Speaker 2: from the State Farm Marine and Atlanta, Georgia. Before we
- 1:34Speaker 2: begin with each match here, this felt like a bigger
- 1:38Speaker 2: than normal pay per view.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, this is I guess because there a
- 1:43Speaker 3: b pay per view, but I mean you look at
- 1:46Speaker 3: the I'm gonna say the co main events. That's some
- 1:51Speaker 3: SummerSlam quality matches right there. So yeah, it felt bigger.
- 1:56Speaker 3: They hyped it up bigger. I mean a lot of
- 1:58Speaker 3: the stuff about the history of Blood coming into play,
- 2:02Speaker 3: like they did a really good job of making this
- 2:04Speaker 3: feel like much, you know, way more than a Great
- 2:08Speaker 3: Balls of Fire Part two.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah, this they had legends there, They had segments with
- 2:12Speaker 2: the legends as well. Is that something WWE needs to
- 2:17Speaker 2: do more often during these pls. I don't think we
- 2:20Speaker 2: have a main roster PLD now until Survivor series, But
- 2:24Speaker 2: is this something that we need to see in between
- 2:27Speaker 2: the Big four or five that we does.
- 2:30Speaker 1: We do have Crown Jewel November Sex.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You're right, absolutely forgot about that.
- 2:33Speaker 1: One, so we do have that one.
- 2:35Speaker 3: But you know, I read some stuff from DDP, who
- 2:39Speaker 3: was featured at Bad Blood and he said that he's
- 2:44Speaker 3: excited because the current regime is kind of playing into
- 2:49Speaker 3: legend stuff. They're they like he said, they were backstage
- 2:52Speaker 3: people were giving them respect and you know, treating them
- 2:56Speaker 3: with dignity in class, which wasn't always the case in
- 3:00Speaker 3: years past. You know, I'm a big proponent of it
- 3:04Speaker 3: because as I get older and as you get older,
- 3:06Speaker 3: like these are some of the people that we grew
- 3:08Speaker 3: up watching, but they're also the ones who paved the
- 3:11Speaker 3: way for this current generation. Like we have a fondness
- 3:15Speaker 3: for Attitude Era. I have a fondness for like mid eighties,
- 3:20Speaker 3: late eighties wrestling, and that's kind of who you see featured.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And you know, a lot of our heroes have passed on.
- 3:26Speaker 3: So when I get to see it Arn Anderson and
- 3:28Speaker 3: a totally Blanchard, and I hear Corey Graves gush about
- 3:31Speaker 3: the Brainbusters, you know, it makes my heart feel good
- 3:34Speaker 3: when you see a DDP, when you see XPOT, when
- 3:36Speaker 3: you see those guys out there, you're like, man, like,
- 3:39Speaker 3: some of that stuff is just fantastic.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And you look at a guy like DDP, who was not.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Treated very well during his time in WWE, but was
- 3:47Speaker 3: fantastic in WCW. See him get that respect from you know,
- 3:52Speaker 3: the Triple H regime, it just it it's really good
- 3:55Speaker 3: for you know, the diehard wrestling fan in me.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I read the same comments from DDP.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It was I think he put it out there on
- 4:04Speaker 2: a tweet. I've never known WWE, even in the previous
- 4:10Speaker 2: regime led by Vince to being like jerks to the legends.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Maybe it was specific legends, maybe guys that came from
- 4:18Speaker 2: WW that was a little bit different, which DDP alludes
- 4:22Speaker 2: to in his comment. So I was surprised to see
- 4:24Speaker 2: those comments overall. But it does feel like in a
- 4:29Speaker 2: lot of different levels that Triple H and the current
- 4:31Speaker 2: regime are doing everything they can to write every single
- 4:35Speaker 2: wrong that the previous administration had, to make it more
- 4:39Speaker 2: of a welcoming company both inside and outside, internally and externally.
- 4:44Speaker 2: And it's another element as to why it feels like
- 4:48Speaker 2: which we'll talk about later on the show. We is
- 4:52Speaker 2: really stretching the gap between them and AW and the
- 4:54Speaker 2: United States right now.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean.
- 4:59Speaker 3: In ring and this is the year and I have
- 5:01Speaker 3: talked about many, many times over the last five years,
- 5:04Speaker 3: and ringwise, AW probably beats WWE a lot of the time,
- 5:11Speaker 3: but it's all the ancillary or you know, ancillary stuff
- 5:14Speaker 3: around it that is what is causing this this chasm
- 5:19Speaker 3: between WWE and AW I mean, you go back three years,
- 5:24Speaker 3: it was getting close. You know, the gap was pretty narrow,
- 5:28Speaker 3: and it just feels like, you know, ever since Triple
- 5:31Speaker 3: Ah took over, like thet it's been all gas, no
- 5:34Speaker 3: break for WWE, and they're just stretching this stuff out,
- 5:38Speaker 3: and you know it's like AEW sometimes can't get out
- 5:41Speaker 3: of their own way. So it's just you know, I mean,
- 5:44Speaker 3: aaw' has always been has been good to their legends.
- 5:47Speaker 3: You know, when Stein comes in and Flair came in,
- 5:49Speaker 3: a lot of those guys came in too.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I mean, the hell they've had Brett Hart.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I mean, they've had DDP, Like they've had like a
- 5:54Speaker 3: lot of these guys. And for some reason though, it's
- 5:58Speaker 3: just everybody kind of matriculates back to WWE and now
- 6:01Speaker 3: they're being treated on a different level, I guess, or
- 6:04Speaker 3: just made to feel more welcome and more home.
- 6:08Speaker 1: And a lot of that probably is because of Triple Agent.
- 6:11Speaker 3: The fact that you know, he grew up a fan
- 6:14Speaker 3: of wrestling, got into wrestling looked up to a lot
- 6:17Speaker 3: of these guys, or worked with a lot of these guys.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you treat your peers and your heroes with respect,
- 6:24Speaker 3: where maybe the previous administration just looked at them as
- 6:27Speaker 3: kind of employees. You know, there's a different context, you
- 6:32Speaker 3: know to it now as opposed to years past.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I've never understood some of that stuff, where like
- 6:38Speaker 2: the previous regime would would kind of ghost legends or
- 6:42Speaker 2: be upset if a legend appeared in TNA or AW
- 6:47Speaker 2: depending on the year of activity. It just seemed very
- 6:51Speaker 2: strange to me. So that was a huge point coming
- 6:53Speaker 2: out of Bad Blood. Like the overall vibe of the
- 6:55Speaker 2: show top to bottom was like this, this is a
- 6:57Speaker 2: big deal, ple and I did not get any of
- 7:00Speaker 2: that vibe going into it. I was like, this is
- 7:02Speaker 2: feeling like in the same equivalency as a SummerSlam or
- 7:05Speaker 2: Royal Rumble survivor series of WrestleMania. Probably not to the
- 7:09Speaker 2: degree of a WrestleMania or a SummerSlam per se, but
- 7:12Speaker 2: it was a lot of hype around it, and I'm like,
- 7:15Speaker 2: this could be something that they do all the time.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It does not need to be just you know one
- 7:20Speaker 2: show once in a while, because maybe they're trying to
- 7:23Speaker 2: impress the city of Atlanta to run another WrestleMania there,
- 7:27Speaker 2: which Cody alluded to towards the end of the night
- 7:30Speaker 2: once in I think the dark segment as the show closed. So,
- 7:34Speaker 2: I mean, Atlanta does have a lot of great wrestling history.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Maybe that has a lot to do with it. WCW
- 7:40Speaker 2: that was their home for the longest time. I don't know.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I thought it was just very very interesting. I'm like, man,
- 7:45Speaker 2: they are really putting a lot of care and time
- 7:47Speaker 2: into a show that well, there were some great builds.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I just never looked at it as like this is
- 7:52Speaker 2: a big deal ple for we, So let's get into
- 7:55Speaker 2: it here, doctor Trey. They kicked off the show with
- 7:58Speaker 2: c I'm Punk defeating Drew McIntyre and Hell in a
- 8:00Speaker 2: cell match. You and I both had see them punk
- 8:02Speaker 2: in this one heck of a finale for a really
- 8:05Speaker 2: great feud. This match out at all. It had violent
- 8:08Speaker 2: storytelling and emotion. Amazing job by both men over the
- 8:11Speaker 2: last ten months, and with the three matches that took
- 8:14Speaker 2: place during this feud, each match got better and I
- 8:17Speaker 2: am sad to see this feud conclude because it was
- 8:19Speaker 2: so damn good. I felt like Punkin McIntyre should have
- 8:22Speaker 2: taken about the end of this one for the feud.
- 8:24Speaker 2: But they put together this past year. Keep in mind
- 8:27Speaker 2: ten months feuding, like seven of them were spent with
- 8:31Speaker 2: one or both of them on the shelf, and then
- 8:34Speaker 2: three matches since SummerSlam. Tremendous, tremendous job by both men here,
- 8:40Speaker 2: doctor for the last ten months of entertainment and a
- 8:42Speaker 2: great feud. Your thoughts on the Hell in a Cell match?
- 8:45Speaker 3: I mean, I'll first of all, go with the feud.
- 8:47Speaker 3: The feud itself was fantastic. I mean it's you know,
- 8:50Speaker 3: to me, there's two feuds of the year as we
- 8:53Speaker 3: get towards the end of the year, and this one's
- 8:55Speaker 3: right there with you know, hang Man and Swerve, and
- 8:59Speaker 3: in this one probably maybe has slightly ahead of it,
- 9:02Speaker 3: you know, just kind of in the tail end of
- 9:05Speaker 3: twenty twenty four. But like this match, to me, this
- 9:09Speaker 3: is like the old school Helena Cel kind of matchups
- 9:12Speaker 3: like we've gotten I don't know, I don't know if
- 9:14Speaker 3: Helena Cell has gotten soft over the years, but you know,
- 9:17Speaker 3: you go back to this stuff with like Seth and
- 9:19Speaker 3: the fiend and maybe Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy and
- 9:22Speaker 3: I mean they've been okay, but I mean this was
- 9:25Speaker 3: like violence on the level of like you know, Undertaker
- 9:30Speaker 3: mankind Undertaker and Edge, like the Shawn Michaels Triple h ones,
- 9:34Speaker 3: like this is up there with those. It's like, man,
- 9:37Speaker 3: I I this was just an incredible match, some good storytelling,
- 9:41Speaker 3: but the violence, the brutality, I mean, stuff like that.
- 9:45Speaker 3: That's that's the stuff that we that we've missed in
- 9:48Speaker 3: pro wrestling, especially when it makes sense. This isn't you know,
- 9:52Speaker 3: Cody running into a wall at aw for no reason.
- 9:54Speaker 3: It's put his head opened like this. The violence in
- 9:57Speaker 3: this made sense, and that that's what always made you know, guys,
- 10:02Speaker 3: I guess love the azwd Errs goes Hey, it's super
- 10:05Speaker 3: violent and it makes sense.
- 10:06Speaker 1: And these two guys.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Blurred that line of you know, work and shoot into
- 10:11Speaker 3: like do they really hate each other as much?
- 10:13Speaker 1: Because you got to really trust.
- 10:14Speaker 3: The other guy you're working with to go to that
- 10:17Speaker 3: level of violence, and if you hate some but it's
- 10:19Speaker 3: kind of hard to trust them. So just a phenomenal
- 10:22Speaker 3: job by these two guys showing them why they're two
- 10:24Speaker 3: of the best performers in wrestling today.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I feel like we talked about it one time on
- 10:29Speaker 2: the podcast that like did Hell and Hassel jump the
- 10:32Speaker 2: Shark because it felt like they you know, they do
- 10:35Speaker 2: it once a year basically at this point, and you know,
- 10:39Speaker 2: you've seen it all. And I felt like, similar to
- 10:43Speaker 2: you that with this match. While there obviously obviously are
- 10:47Speaker 2: spots that we've seen before, it just had a different
- 10:50Speaker 2: feel and vibe around it. And I don't know if
- 10:52Speaker 2: that was the build I certainly played a major part
- 10:54Speaker 2: in it. The match itself, like it just had a
- 10:58Speaker 2: different feel to all in a cell match that we
- 11:01Speaker 2: as fans have not connected with in some time.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean with this whole thing was you know created.
- 11:08Speaker 3: It was supposed to be like the ultimate way to
- 11:12Speaker 3: end a rivalry, like there was no escape, Like this
- 11:14Speaker 3: is just brutality for brutality, and you know, you go
- 11:17Speaker 3: back to you know, even Shawn Michaels undertaking some these
- 11:20Speaker 3: other ones that through the years, like they were like
- 11:24Speaker 3: big blowoffs to feuds and then over the last few years.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I mean to me, it was right around the time
- 11:30Speaker 3: that they actually made the Payer review about it.
- 11:32Speaker 1: But the Red, the Red Helena Cell.
- 11:34Speaker 2: That was bad.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Cemented me for it.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I mean they were chanting aed up at the end
- 11:39Speaker 2: of that one.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it was just like, dear God, it
- 11:42Speaker 3: was just so bad. But and it did kind of
- 11:45Speaker 3: jump the shark, so to speak, especially because they weren't
- 11:48Speaker 3: really using it any other so I think they only
- 11:51Speaker 3: used it one other time. I think they use it
- 11:53Speaker 3: at a WrestleMania was that Shane and Undertaker WrestleMania was
- 11:58Speaker 3: that Helena Cell that.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Was And they have used it in the past WrestleMania
- 12:01Speaker 2: as well for often forgotten match.
- 12:03Speaker 3: You know, but it's it's one of those things where
- 12:05Speaker 3: it's like, you know, for years, it was you know,
- 12:08Speaker 3: in the early days of it, it was we have
- 12:10Speaker 3: to settle this feud. It is a blood feud. We
- 12:13Speaker 3: need to settle this and move on. And that was
- 12:16Speaker 3: the way you did it. And you know, over the
- 12:18Speaker 3: years it's like, oh, we'll just do it at you know.
- 12:21Speaker 1: At Helena Cel.
- 12:22Speaker 3: We'll just have a pay per view and it's two
- 12:23Speaker 3: or three Helena Seale matches and you know, but then
- 12:25Speaker 3: we hardly ever see it anymore. It's like, man, it's
- 12:28Speaker 3: better like this where it's kind of sprinkled in to
- 12:32Speaker 3: kind of settle a rivalry as opposed to just having
- 12:35Speaker 3: it as you know, a pay per view gimmick, much
- 12:38Speaker 3: like the way TLC was done over the years.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Two questions free. I think the first one's really easy.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Not too sure where you're going to land on this one,
- 12:45Speaker 2: because it also may be tipping your hand. I'm certainly
- 12:47Speaker 2: tipping my hand. First question, is Doctor Trey end a year.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It's about eight weeks away here we'll have our award
- 12:55Speaker 2: show spectacularly closed out twenty twenty four, which is mind
- 12:58Speaker 2: blowing to say out loud. When we discuss feud of
- 13:02Speaker 2: the Year? Is this punk drumactar feud? And I laugh
- 13:07Speaker 2: when I say this because I think it's an easy question.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Is it a major candidate in that category?
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I was saying earlier to me, there's two feuds
- 13:15Speaker 3: of the year. This is one of them, and then
- 13:17Speaker 3: Swerve and Hangman is the other one. So it's one
- 13:20Speaker 3: of the top two.
- 13:21Speaker 2: And then I don't know about this one. You're ready
- 13:23Speaker 2: Match of the Year candidate? Does this match fall into
- 13:26Speaker 2: a match that we discussed at the end of the
- 13:28Speaker 2: year when it comes to Match of the year.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I think it will just because like there's I don't
- 13:36Speaker 3: I don't know if you can say that there is
- 13:38Speaker 3: some memorable moments in this match as far as like
- 13:42Speaker 3: I can't believe I just saw that. Maybe the Toolbox headshots,
- 13:47Speaker 3: you know, is one of them. But like as I
- 13:48Speaker 3: sit here five days posted, I can't remember other than
- 13:53Speaker 3: the finish and the Toolbox shots, Like I'm like, oh
- 13:56Speaker 3: my god, I can't believe I saw that. But I
- 13:58Speaker 3: remember the feeling I get, and I remember the brutality of.
- 14:01Speaker 1: It, so that puts it.
- 14:04Speaker 3: You know, It's in my conversation for Match of the Year.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I don't know if it is the match of the
- 14:09Speaker 3: year yet, but it's in the conversation at least.
- 14:12Speaker 2: And then bonus questionaire because it's the one that just
- 14:14Speaker 2: came into my hat. Compare this second chapter of cmpunk
- 14:19Speaker 2: the return professional wrestling that started in aw How does
- 14:22Speaker 2: this feud in match with Drew McIntyre. Matches with Drew
- 14:26Speaker 2: McIntyre compare to the stuff that he did in All
- 14:28Speaker 2: wrestling previously coming back to.
- 14:30Speaker 3: WWA, this feud is the best thing he's done since
- 14:35Speaker 3: he's returned to wrestling. This match is probably up there
- 14:40Speaker 3: with the MJF Dog color match, but the run itself.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I mean, this is.
- 14:47Speaker 3: If you want CM Punk and you want the good Cmpunk,
- 14:51Speaker 3: this is the rivalry to kind of showcase it because
- 14:54Speaker 3: it had you know, some I mean.
- 14:56Speaker 1: He's not the wrestler he was ten years ago. I
- 15:00Speaker 1: think we can all agree with that.
- 15:01Speaker 3: He's still pretty good, but a lot of that match
- 15:05Speaker 3: that we saw was kind of like, oh, it's the
- 15:07Speaker 3: you know, it's the best hits of CM Punk in
- 15:09Speaker 3: this match. Hits the knee in the corner of the
- 15:11Speaker 3: running bulldog, it's the little neck breaker he does. It's
- 15:13Speaker 3: kind of those things. He's not the technical. We saw
- 15:16Speaker 3: the Anacon device. There you go, there's another one. I remember,
- 15:20Speaker 3: he's not the technical wrestler he was ten years ago
- 15:23Speaker 3: when he left WW eleven years ago.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Ever long it's been.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Uh, he's still pretty good, but this is if you're
- 15:29Speaker 3: signing CM Punk. This is what you would show to
- 15:30Speaker 3: people and say, hey, we're signing this guy. And I
- 15:34Speaker 3: don't think AW ever really capitalized on it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And in part of it was Punk's fault.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Maybe Punk was trying to do too much and that's
- 15:41Speaker 3: why he kept getting hurt in AW which would then
- 15:44Speaker 3: short change some of those rivalries. But you know, really,
- 15:50Speaker 3: this is the best rivalry we've had in wrestling that
- 15:52Speaker 3: this in Swerving and Hayman in quite some time, because
- 15:55Speaker 3: it's gone on so long and it feels so personal.
- 15:58Speaker 3: But this is the best we've seen of Seam Punkin
- 16:01Speaker 3: in a decade.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I would say, ever since Brawl Out with Punk there
- 16:06Speaker 2: has been some doubt in regards to his innring ability,
- 16:09Speaker 2: his longevity. Does he still have it? And he found
- 16:13Speaker 2: it again during these last three matches with Drew McIntyre.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I thought this was like, Okay, there is that old
- 16:18Speaker 2: sampunk still in there. What's really cool about the entire
- 16:21Speaker 2: thing is when he came back to we eleven months
- 16:24Speaker 2: ago now, the immediate thought from everyone was, all right,
- 16:27Speaker 2: we're going to get the punk Rollin stuff. It was
- 16:29Speaker 2: everything that you thought. It was everything that you read,
- 16:30Speaker 2: It was everything that you thought what we were going
- 16:32Speaker 2: to see once you were watching television, and certainly feels
- 16:35Speaker 2: that way from what we saw on RAW this past
- 16:37Speaker 2: Monday night, that that is the direction now coming out
- 16:39Speaker 2: of this as well. Even though there were some rumblings
- 16:41Speaker 2: of punkin Gunther coming up here as well. To me,
- 16:47Speaker 2: this was never on my radar a feud with Dream McIntyre.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I was like, this is never on my radar and
- 16:51Speaker 2: became so organic, and it became so much fun, and
- 16:54Speaker 2: it became so much entertaining, and you really felt like
- 16:57Speaker 2: these two guys legitimately hate each other and it's possibly
- 17:01Speaker 2: true who knows with professional wrestling. Then I was like, man,
- 17:04Speaker 2: this is tough that we just don't get to see
- 17:05Speaker 2: and feel and experience anymore. So organic, so much fun,
- 17:09Speaker 2: so much entertainment. Major major props to both guys, and
- 17:12Speaker 2: I hope this leads to bigger and brighter things for them.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Here to close up twenty twenty four and WWII and
- 17:18Speaker 2: also head into the restu Mainting forty one season in
- 17:20Speaker 2: the early part of twenty twenty five. Let's get to
- 17:23Speaker 2: the next match here. Doctor Trey Nijacks defeats Bailey to
- 17:26Speaker 2: retain the WA Women's Championship. We both at Nia Jackson
- 17:29Speaker 2: this one. I thought this Ni Bailey match was much
- 17:32Speaker 2: better than their SmackDown match excuse me, SummerSlam match again.
- 17:35Speaker 2: My only concern is where does Bailey go from here?
- 17:38Speaker 2: I feel like she maybe do for a breakof of
- 17:40Speaker 2: TV for a bit to refresh your character or maybe
- 17:42Speaker 2: give her one of those refresh runts and antics. Now
- 17:44Speaker 2: that they are on the CW network and you've got
- 17:46Speaker 2: some really good talent in the women's division down there,
- 17:50Speaker 2: the slow build and character development of Tiffany Stratton as
- 17:53Speaker 2: of laid has been really good. However, I think I
- 17:55Speaker 2: like the NXT version of Tiffany over this current SmackDown
- 17:58Speaker 2: version of Tiffy time. I like the leader uh slash,
- 18:02Speaker 2: don't give a crap about other people Tiffany on NXT
- 18:05Speaker 2: and not the SmackDown version where she's she's afraid of
- 18:07Speaker 2: Nia Jackson takes a back seat. It's obviously leading to
- 18:10Speaker 2: something big as wc's something in Trapp which makes a
- 18:13Speaker 2: lot of sense, Doctor Trey your thoughts and this one
- 18:15Speaker 2: is Nijack's retains.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Yeah, much better than their summer slam match. Uh Naya
- 18:21Speaker 3: did a hur knrona jeff Or tried like like, I'm
- 18:26Speaker 3: kind of blown away by that.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Like that it was one of the craziest things. I like.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I give her credit for trying, because how didn't know
- 18:35Speaker 3: that she I thought she was kind of I thought
- 18:36Speaker 3: she had live with a Domino.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Where she was kind of afraid of heights.
- 18:38Speaker 3: But the hell she pulled that, she tried to pull
- 18:40Speaker 3: it off, so I give her credit for it. Yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 3: Like this match was fine, Like, but you're right, Like,
- 18:45Speaker 3: what do you do with Bailey?
- 18:46Speaker 1: Now?
- 18:47Speaker 3: Who's the next person to challenge Naya? Because SmackDown kind
- 18:52Speaker 3: of has a gap in talent. It's similar to the
- 18:56Speaker 3: stuff with Cody Rose that we've talked about in the past,
- 18:59Speaker 3: Like who's the next person to step up here? Because
- 19:02Speaker 3: you've kind of ran through the two top baby faces
- 19:05Speaker 3: you had in Naomi and Bailey here maybe as as
- 19:08Speaker 3: an Osca return, but she's might she's on raw, Like
- 19:12Speaker 3: I just I'm unsure unless you turn Tiffany baby face
- 19:17Speaker 3: and I'm with you, like, I like, excuse me, I
- 19:19Speaker 3: like the arrogant cocky I run the show to Tiffany
- 19:24Speaker 3: better than this one.
- 19:25Speaker 1: But once again, Nya jacks is huge.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Who wouldn't be afraid of getting, you know, cornered by
- 19:34Speaker 3: Nia Jackson getting splashed? Like I'd be a little leery
- 19:36Speaker 3: of that as well, So I get the character.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I do just like the NXT version a little bit
- 19:41Speaker 1: better as well.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you bring up a great point, like where
- 19:46Speaker 2: does ni go from here? Because I feel like, if
- 19:48Speaker 2: you're going to execute the Tiffany strat and stuff, you're
- 19:50Speaker 2: doing it now. Obviously there's a little bit of a
- 19:52Speaker 2: buffer here for Nia Jacks because she is going into
- 19:55Speaker 2: a match with Live Morgan at Crown Jewel for the
- 19:59Speaker 2: Crown Jewel Champ Chip, which we'll talk about here in
- 20:01Speaker 2: just a few moments as well, So there is a
- 20:04Speaker 2: little bit of a gap that can kind of continue
- 20:06Speaker 2: to space out, maybe the slow burn of Tiffany Stratton
- 20:09Speaker 2: becoming a babyface. But if you're not gonna put Naomi
- 20:12Speaker 2: in that role, Bailey has been that role way too much.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Bianca and Jade are with the tag team division right now.
- 20:18Speaker 2: It's it felt like to me with the whole Queen
- 20:21Speaker 2: of the Ring stuff with Nia Jax, that this is
- 20:24Speaker 2: gonna be leading to the return of Charlotte Flair. But
- 20:27Speaker 2: it seems like she that is more of a twenty
- 20:30Speaker 2: twenty five thing than late twenty twenty four because of
- 20:34Speaker 2: her injury. It was so extensive and it's gonna take
- 20:37Speaker 2: a lot of time for her still, but it's it's
- 20:40Speaker 2: definitely a problem on the SmackDown brand. It's I guess
- 20:43Speaker 2: the good thing here is They've given themselves some creative
- 20:45Speaker 2: to build and buffer a little bit, but I don't
- 20:49Speaker 2: know how that's gonna work out fully yet because liv
- 20:51Speaker 2: is still really really feuding with Ryad Ripley, while Nia
- 20:55Speaker 2: Jacks is to be determined as SmackDown airs tomorrow night
- 20:59Speaker 2: on the Say Network. Next match here is Damien Priest
- 21:03Speaker 2: defeating Finn Baller. I had Damien, Doctor Trey and Finn.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I was really happy to see singles wrestler Finn Baller
- 21:08Speaker 2: on a pl in a big match. I feel like
- 21:10Speaker 2: he has been a little underutilized from an in ring
- 21:12Speaker 2: standpoint over the last several months. My biggest takeaway in
- 21:15Speaker 2: this one is Finn hit his coup de gras finisher
- 21:18Speaker 2: multiple times, could not put Damian Priest away during any
- 21:21Speaker 2: of it, and then Damien hits one South of Heaven
- 21:24Speaker 2: finisher for the victory on Finn, which seemed strange. I
- 21:29Speaker 2: wonder where there's a feud goes from here heading into
- 21:31Speaker 2: war Games, Doctor Trey. Your thoughts on this one is
- 21:34Speaker 2: Damien Priest defeats Finn Balor No.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I really I enjoyed this match.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I mean it was a solid It's not really a
- 21:42Speaker 3: filler match because they had storyline wise, but you know,
- 21:46Speaker 3: when you look at you know, you got the shark
- 21:48Speaker 3: cage match, you got the hell in the Cell match,
- 21:50Speaker 3: you got the big tag match.
- 21:52Speaker 1: This was just a straight up singles match.
- 21:53Speaker 3: So it was really good, really kept me on into
- 21:57Speaker 3: my sche because I didn't where it's going that that finished,
- 21:59Speaker 3: though within you brought three to Couti graz I will
- 22:01Speaker 3: say it's one coupdi gras and then two double stumps
- 22:05Speaker 3: to the back, so maybe technically not three coudi gras.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I guess that's where they're going with it. But then
- 22:11Speaker 3: one south of Heaven. I mean typically, I mean, unless
- 22:14Speaker 3: you're one of the top heels in the company, whether
- 22:17Speaker 3: you know your Roman or when he was a heel,
- 22:19Speaker 3: or your Gunther, you know, it takes to multiple finishers
- 22:23Speaker 3: to put you away when you're kind of the upper
- 22:25Speaker 3: mid card heel like finn Is. I guess one big
- 22:29Speaker 3: giant choke slam from a guy who's almost a foot
- 22:32Speaker 3: taller than you, you know, might make sense. But I
- 22:36Speaker 3: didn't hate the finish. I just, you know, kind of
- 22:39Speaker 3: wanted a little bit more out of it. I just
- 22:41Speaker 3: hate when the one good guy takes out four villain
- 22:44Speaker 3: or three villains to get the win. Uh, that kind
- 22:47Speaker 3: of bothers me, just because like typically three on one
- 22:50Speaker 3: you're gonna get your ass kicked, but overall not a
- 22:52Speaker 3: bad match. Just I'm just curious to see where this goes,
- 22:54Speaker 3: because I think they kind of said afterwards that this right,
- 22:58Speaker 3: like the tear twins are breaking up there in their
- 23:00Speaker 3: separate ways. So then what do you do with Finn?
- 23:03Speaker 3: What do you do with Damien? And where do they go?
- 23:05Speaker 3: So interestly, how this how they play these characters out,
- 23:08Speaker 3: because I thought this would be multiple matches between these
- 23:11Speaker 3: guys and looks like it might just be one and done.
- 23:14Speaker 2: There is ever an opportunity to like move someone to
- 23:17Speaker 2: another brand, I think, you know, if they were going
- 23:18Speaker 2: to do a trade, I feel like Damien Priest is
- 23:21Speaker 2: a candidate to be moved to SmackDown and be moved
- 23:24Speaker 2: up the chain a little bit more. But maybe that's
- 23:26Speaker 2: a discussion for another day, because yeah, it's like, what
- 23:29Speaker 2: do you do with Damien? What do you do from
- 23:30Speaker 2: Finn going forward? If this is the end of the
- 23:33Speaker 2: few that we've seen build out slowly over like the
- 23:35Speaker 2: last five months. In between here and we'll talk about
- 23:39Speaker 2: it triple h and now it's World Champion versus World
- 23:42Speaker 2: Champion matches for both the men and women at Crown Jewel.
- 23:44Speaker 2: The winner will be crowned the w W Crown Jewel Champion.
- 23:47Speaker 2: And then also Bill Goldberg, who has been in the
- 23:50Speaker 2: news for some time like pooh poohing w because they
- 23:53Speaker 2: never gave him the retirement match that they allegedly promise him,
- 23:57Speaker 2: which I can understand why he felt that way, and
- 24:00Speaker 2: he was in discussions with AW At some point there
- 24:02Speaker 2: was a rumor that he would be going on a
- 24:04Speaker 2: tour like a farewell tour on his own at some
- 24:06Speaker 2: point that didn't come to fruition. He appears to be
- 24:09Speaker 2: back in the w fole talking about legends who were
- 24:11Speaker 2: treated great or better than the last regime, and he
- 24:15Speaker 2: has an interaction with the World have aweight champion. That's sure.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Your thoughts on the announcement for the Crown Jeworld Champion
- 24:20Speaker 2: and then Goldberg and Gunther's interaction.
- 24:23Speaker 1: First of all, did you like the title the way
- 24:25Speaker 1: it looked.
- 24:27Speaker 2: It's a little too much for me, but it makes
- 24:29Speaker 2: sense for them trying to impress Saudi Arabia, if that
- 24:32Speaker 2: makes sense.
- 24:33Speaker 3: It reminds me of the old AWA title, which is
- 24:36Speaker 3: kind of a more squared look like this one is,
- 24:38Speaker 3: but just it's just bigger. It's a little gaudy, I guess,
- 24:42Speaker 3: but we know the Saudi Arabian officials like gaudiness at times,
- 24:47Speaker 3: so it's okay. I just don't know. I don't understand
- 24:51Speaker 3: this whole thing. It's like, we're gonna champion for the champion.
- 24:53Speaker 3: The winner gets this title, do they carry that title
- 24:57Speaker 3: around because by the time this show comes around next year,
- 24:59Speaker 3: for ground Joel Odds are nobody in this match is
- 25:03Speaker 3: going to be the world champion, So do they just
- 25:06Speaker 3: quietly take it away? I mean, is this like when
- 25:08Speaker 3: Braun Strowman won the Greatest Battle or the Greatest Role
- 25:11Speaker 3: Rumble ever and he got a trophy and then we
- 25:13Speaker 3: never saw the trophy again.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I don't know how this works.
- 25:16Speaker 3: So once again, wrestling fan, I need some logic to
- 25:19Speaker 3: come to play here. But I mean, it's I'm glad
- 25:24Speaker 3: to see that we're getting champion versus champion and we're
- 25:27Speaker 3: not getting unified champions out of this at least, so
- 25:30Speaker 3: I'm okay with that.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And then seeing.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Goldberback like I'm cool with it. I like the interaction.
- 25:35Speaker 3: I don't know about you know, but you know, since
- 25:37Speaker 3: Gage plays for Colorado's football team, I kind of want
- 25:41Speaker 3: to see Dion Sanders.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Showup at WWE. Now, I don't know.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I just want to see Primetime out there with Art
- 25:45Speaker 3: Truth doing some stuff.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I think that would be kind of fun. But I
- 25:51Speaker 1: just don't know.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Like the retirement match, like, who, there's nobody left on
- 25:54Speaker 3: this roster that I can go that's the guy he
- 25:56Speaker 3: needs to wrestle, maybe other than John Cena during je
- 26:00Speaker 3: seen as retirement tour.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I think Gun through Goldberg could
- 26:07Speaker 2: be a match that maybe takes place at Survivor Series.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I could see that. I don't think they're doing that
- 26:13Speaker 2: for no reason at all. I think WWE wants to
- 26:15Speaker 2: make it up to Goldberg and that is a title
- 26:18Speaker 2: or the history of that title that Goldberg helped make famous.
- 26:22Speaker 2: I think the problem with that would be, like, oh God,
- 26:24Speaker 2: if Goldberg becomes the world Champion, we are in deep,
- 26:28Speaker 2: deep trouble. The other thing here too, Doctor Trey is
- 26:32Speaker 2: the crown jewel stuff. This has everything to do with
- 26:35Speaker 2: in pressing Saudi Arabia again to me that the title
- 26:38Speaker 2: the world Champion versus World Champion match. It seems like
- 26:41Speaker 2: this is something that they want to give special to
- 26:43Speaker 2: Saudi Arabian Showcase, Like, hey, you know, this is a
- 26:46Speaker 2: big deal, big partnership to us, and this matches everything
- 26:49Speaker 2: that we believe in when it comes to the glitz
- 26:52Speaker 2: and glamor that comes with Saudi Arabia. So that appears
- 26:56Speaker 2: to me to be very Saudi Arabian based. It's it's
- 27:01Speaker 2: it's an exciting thing to see. We'll see it play out.
- 27:04Speaker 2: World Champion versus World Champion matches are pretty cool. I
- 27:07Speaker 2: liked it to doing it for both both brands, and
- 27:10Speaker 2: we've seen this in the past, like fifteen years ago
- 27:12Speaker 2: when they did like the brand matches. Remember the ECW
- 27:15Speaker 2: versus World Ofweight Champion wee Champion match. I think with
- 27:18Speaker 2: big show Booker t and John Cena, I like that
- 27:20Speaker 2: back then. We'll see how the build goes from here.
- 27:23Speaker 2: So Cody T's that at the end of Raw. We'll
- 27:26Speaker 2: have to see how the women handle that going forward,
- 27:28Speaker 2: because again Live Morgan is fully involved with everything that
- 27:32Speaker 2: is going on between her and Rhea Ripley. Speaking of
- 27:35Speaker 2: Live Morgan, doctor Trey Reed Ripley defeats Live Morgan via disqualification.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Live Morgan remains the WE Women's World Champion due to
- 27:42Speaker 2: the DQ. You and I both had rie in this one.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Some takeaways on this match. Roquel Rodriguez making this say
- 27:49Speaker 2: for Dominic Masterian and Live Morgan was a nice call creatively,
- 27:52Speaker 2: and I like the assumed edition of rock Kel Rodriguez
- 27:54Speaker 2: to the a judgment day. Maybe Roquel helping Live tips
- 27:57Speaker 2: off who is getting the women's Wargames match at Survivors Series. Hmm,
- 28:01Speaker 2: something to think about. I wish this match God a
- 28:03Speaker 2: little bit more time, as it felt like it was
- 28:05Speaker 2: just building up to something good. A dom stunt falling
- 28:08Speaker 2: headfirst out of the shark cage only to be caught
- 28:10Speaker 2: by the chain Legit got me nervous, like almost like
- 28:13Speaker 2: profusely sweat there for a second because I have a
- 28:16Speaker 2: semi fear of heights. It looks like people trash this match,
- 28:20Speaker 2: but Rhea and Live continue to have a really good,
- 28:22Speaker 2: strong feud. I didn't think it was as bad as
- 28:24Speaker 2: the online said. Now, Trey, your thoughts on this one.
- 28:27Speaker 3: I thought the match was really good until the end,
- 28:30Speaker 3: Like I thought from opening all.
- 28:32Speaker 1: The way through it was really good. Once Dom came
- 28:36Speaker 1: out of.
- 28:36Speaker 3: The cage and I'm with you, Like when he fell out,
- 28:39Speaker 3: he's hanging upside down to the chain. I'm like, first
- 28:41Speaker 3: of all, like props to him for being upside I
- 28:44Speaker 3: can't even hang upside down off my bed before I
- 28:47Speaker 3: start getting.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Lightheaded and dizzy.
- 28:48Speaker 3: And here's Dom like up there for a good five
- 28:51Speaker 3: eight minutes upside down. I know he was pulling himself
- 28:55Speaker 3: up to kind of alleviate the pressure at times, but
- 28:57Speaker 3: that is not an easy thing to do. As soon
- 29:01Speaker 3: as they did, the ref spot with Rhea telling him, uh,
- 29:06Speaker 3: I got some unfinished business to do. I didn't like
- 29:09Speaker 3: that because the ref stopped the refting count and I'm like, no, like,
- 29:13Speaker 3: you still do the count.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Did you hear what the ref said?
- 29:16Speaker 1: Yeah? He said go ahead.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Yeah, he was like you've earned that one.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh come on.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Not with the camera on though, Like, come on, at
- 29:25Speaker 3: least give me a reason why you're not counting. I mean,
- 29:29Speaker 3: like that's you're no longer unbiased at that point, So
- 29:32Speaker 3: that kind of threw me.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Raquel kind of messed up the finish.
- 29:36Speaker 3: I think she was actually because when she came out,
- 29:38Speaker 3: the ref was looking right at it because you saw
- 29:40Speaker 3: the ref as so she came out go oh crap,
- 29:41Speaker 3: and he tried to look away like I didn't see
- 29:44Speaker 3: her do this, but.
- 29:45Speaker 2: He legitimately mouthed, oh crap.
- 29:48Speaker 3: You could see, like because I've seen it in actual
- 29:50Speaker 3: rep like in like over stuff, when you accidentally catch
- 29:54Speaker 3: the bad guy doing something cheating, like you see him
- 29:58Speaker 3: walking back towards the ring and then as soon as
- 30:00Speaker 3: she jumps out, he turns back towards the crowd for
- 30:04Speaker 3: no apparent reason. So I think the finish was actually
- 30:08Speaker 3: supposed to be Live getting the pin.
- 30:09Speaker 2: That's what they're saying. Yes, that was supposed to be
- 30:12Speaker 2: the finish.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was seeing from you know, my
- 30:16Speaker 3: semi expertise eye. But you can see the ref go
- 30:19Speaker 3: oh crap. I wasn't supposed to see her, and because
- 30:22Speaker 3: she literally like bounced into him, you know, and then
- 30:24Speaker 3: he just had to throw the DQ in there. But
- 30:27Speaker 3: the finish kind of messed it all up because you
- 30:29Speaker 3: can see like she did the big the big Tejanobaum
- 30:33Speaker 3: put Live on top, and then you see her just
- 30:35Speaker 3: go crap, the ref's not here, Like you can see
- 30:37Speaker 3: it in her face that she kind of messed it
- 30:39Speaker 3: up as well. But I'm excited to see where it
- 30:42Speaker 3: goes because I like Raquel as a villain, and I
- 30:47Speaker 3: liked it back when she had to code Kai with
- 30:48Speaker 3: her kind of was the mouthpiece. If you put her
- 30:51Speaker 3: with Live Lives the mouthpiece you put it with Judgment Day,
- 30:53Speaker 3: that seems like a better angle than the eck. It
- 30:56Speaker 3: could be another love interest for Dom at some point,
- 30:59Speaker 3: if you want to make a baby face out of this.
- 31:02Speaker 1: So it does add.
- 31:03Speaker 3: A little bit more to it, plus to give somebody
- 31:05Speaker 3: for Rhea to fight that measures up physically, because I mean,
- 31:09Speaker 3: I don't know about you, Jeff, Watching Rhian live fight is great,
- 31:12Speaker 3: but when you're watching somebody who's just that much bigger
- 31:16Speaker 3: than the other person, you kind of really really have
- 31:20Speaker 3: to suspend your disbelief at times. But Live plays a
- 31:23Speaker 3: heel really well. But like I said, I like this
- 31:26Speaker 3: match all the way up until that whole referee stuff.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Once the referee stuff happened, it kind of turned into
- 31:32Speaker 3: a little bit of a train wreck.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I actually thought watching from home that at no
- 31:37Speaker 2: point I was like, oh God, they screwed up the finish. Obviously,
- 31:39Speaker 2: the reports afterwards you read like that wasn't supposed to
- 31:42Speaker 2: be to finish, I thought wwe did a good job
- 31:44Speaker 2: of covering that up. And one of the things I've
- 31:46Speaker 2: been saying throughout this entire Rehea Live More coanfued is
- 31:50Speaker 2: to your point where it's like you get us suspend
- 31:51Speaker 2: this belief a little bit between the height and all
- 31:53Speaker 2: that stuff in the size, I think they have done
- 31:57Speaker 2: a very good job, as has Rihea Ripley and her
- 31:59Speaker 2: role to that Live Morgan is just as much as
- 32:02Speaker 2: a badass as she is on the same level. While
- 32:05Speaker 2: visually it looks different, and I appreciate that the attention
- 32:09Speaker 2: to the detail that's going on there. Again, I didn't
- 32:14Speaker 2: dislike this match. I think, knowing what I know now,
- 32:16Speaker 2: if we recorded the show on Saturday night early Sunday morning,
- 32:20Speaker 2: it's like, let's recap this match, I would have said.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I felt like they cut time out of this one
- 32:26Speaker 2: because of the match that would take place next. I
- 32:29Speaker 2: was like, this is the match that got the acts.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Maybe Helen USL ran a little bit too long, but
- 32:33Speaker 2: coming out where Raquel and the finish was kind of,
- 32:36Speaker 2: you know, screwed up in a little bit of a way.
- 32:38Speaker 2: It makes sense now why they did what they did,
- 32:42Speaker 2: so I like the pairing of Raquel and Live. I
- 32:45Speaker 2: like your thoughts there that you know, later on, maybe
- 32:48Speaker 2: the love interest goes from Live to Raquel. For Dom,
- 32:51Speaker 2: that would be a really good thing for his character.
- 32:54Speaker 2: That would be really fun and interesting. And overall, I
- 32:57Speaker 2: think Raquel in this role is really good, and I
- 32:59Speaker 2: think Live's character should have a character should have someone
- 33:02Speaker 2: like that in her background. And I think, and we
- 33:04Speaker 2: always do this from time to time when there's a
- 33:07Speaker 2: female bodyguard and a male wrestler, But I could see
- 33:09Speaker 2: Roquel being the China to Dom's Triple H two. So
- 33:13Speaker 2: it's it was good. I didn't dislike it as much
- 33:16Speaker 2: as the people online did. I saw it got like
- 33:18Speaker 2: a really bad rating from Cage Match, and it's like, God,
- 33:21Speaker 2: I've seen worse matches in the last year, and I
- 33:24Speaker 2: didn't feel like that was as bad as other ones
- 33:26Speaker 2: I've seen. And then finally the main event here, Doctor Trey,
- 33:30Speaker 2: Cody Roads and Roman Reigns defeat Solusico and Jacob fat two.
- 33:35Speaker 2: We both had. I had Cody Roads and Roman Reign
- 33:37Speaker 2: Doctor Trey and Solosico and Jacob fot two. This match
- 33:40Speaker 2: struck all the courts. For me, it was good in
- 33:42Speaker 2: reperformance with solid storytelling. The Jimmy User return and the
- 33:45Speaker 2: pop he got was awesome. Jimmy convincing Roman help Cody
- 33:49Speaker 2: during this postmatch beat down from the new bloodline was
- 33:51Speaker 2: a solid moment, and then the Rock returning was off
- 33:54Speaker 2: the charts. I also liked the post event social media stuff,
- 33:57Speaker 2: including Soloicicoa telling the crowd that Therox return is quote
- 34:01Speaker 2: part of the plan, and Kevin Owens taking out Cody
- 34:03Speaker 2: Rose as he entered his tour bus. Post show was very,
- 34:06Speaker 2: very well done. Everything in WW is really well done
- 34:10Speaker 2: lately and hitting on all cylinders. Doctor Trey, your thoughts
- 34:14Speaker 2: on this one.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you hit my thoughts exactly. There wasn't
- 34:18Speaker 3: anything about this match. I disliked the storytelling. The trepidation
- 34:22Speaker 3: at times between Cody and Roman was great. Those moments
- 34:27Speaker 3: of where you see like Solo like ordering Jacob to
- 34:30Speaker 3: do something, and I love Corey Grays on commentary basically
- 34:33Speaker 3: you know, just alluding to that, like Jacob's gonna do whatever.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Solo says like there's no you know, there's no tension
- 34:39Speaker 3: in that bloodline. All the Cody dive from the top
- 34:44Speaker 3: rope to splash and giving Roman the.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Salute like all right, dude, you got this.
- 34:49Speaker 3: I'm out and just diving to take Jacob I thought
- 34:52Speaker 3: was really well done too. Then you know, Jimmy getting
- 34:55Speaker 3: that big pop. I don't know about you, but like
- 34:58Speaker 3: I almost feel bad at times for Jimmy. Hu's so
- 35:00Speaker 3: because you know, like Jay's gotten super over, He's the
- 35:04Speaker 3: inner con Neil champion. Jimmy's been kind of I don't
- 35:08Speaker 3: want to say injury prone, but he's had his issues.
- 35:10Speaker 3: He get, you know, dinged up. I mean, Solo passed
- 35:14Speaker 3: him in a sense as well. But that crowd response
- 35:17Speaker 3: when he got that big pop. I felt so happy
- 35:19Speaker 3: for him, and then just showing how important he is
- 35:21Speaker 3: the Roman, like he's gonna gonna be kind of the
- 35:23Speaker 3: conscience for Roman as Roman goes down this babyface path again,
- 35:28Speaker 3: you know, getting him to go back in and help
- 35:30Speaker 3: Cody and all that stuff. That was great the Rocks return, Like,
- 35:35Speaker 3: I'm interested to see how this goes because you couldn't
- 35:38Speaker 3: tell who he was sighting with. I mean, you got
- 35:41Speaker 3: the the stuff you know post show with you know,
- 35:43Speaker 3: so the crowd hearing Solo say is all part of
- 35:46Speaker 3: the plan. But if you go back to the beginning
- 35:48Speaker 3: of this, after WrestleMania, Solo kept saying that he was
- 35:52Speaker 3: doing stuff for the Tribal Chief, and we know we
- 35:55Speaker 3: always kind of questioned who was he actually referring to,
- 35:58Speaker 3: Was it Roman or was it the Raw. Now that
- 36:01Speaker 3: kind of plays back into it again, so it's a
- 36:05Speaker 3: great dynamic. Maybe we're getting the Ce's planet for the
- 36:08Speaker 3: og Blood line against the New bloodline.
- 36:11Speaker 1: So just a really fun way to end the show.
- 36:15Speaker 3: And then the Cody stuff after the show with the
- 36:17Speaker 3: beatdown from Kevin Owens. I'm gonna be interesting with how
- 36:19Speaker 3: they played down on SmackDown because they've basically played it
- 36:22Speaker 3: off like it was a legitimate thing. You know, we're
- 36:26Speaker 3: handling this internally, we're not allowed to talk about it.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Brandy Rose posting a picture of her, Cody, their daughter,
- 36:35Speaker 3: and Ko at Disneyland. I don't know if you saw that.
- 36:38Speaker 3: That was great because her daughter's just eyeballing Ko like
- 36:41Speaker 3: he's the devil. That was all really fun. So just
- 36:45Speaker 3: a really really good way to end Bad Blood.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we talked about on last week's show. I mean
- 36:50Speaker 2: Pat McAfee had said after the Cody interview that was
- 36:52Speaker 2: picked up on their social media. I heard the Big
- 36:54Speaker 2: Guys coming back, and we discussed on the show. It's
- 36:56Speaker 2: like he's either talking about Hayman or The Rock. And
- 37:00Speaker 2: as things got closer, it came out to The Rock
- 37:04Speaker 2: was going to be going to the high school that
- 37:06Speaker 2: was involved with the school shooting earlier this year to
- 37:09Speaker 2: go watch their football team play, which was like less
- 37:12Speaker 2: than one hundred miles away from in Atlanta, Georgia. It's like,
- 37:14Speaker 2: oh God, so Rock is in town, he's in state,
- 37:18Speaker 2: he's nearby. And as it got closer and closer, it
- 37:22Speaker 2: just felt like, Okay, this is The Rock's return, and
- 37:26Speaker 2: this was It was really nice. It was a good
- 37:29Speaker 2: way to end the show. And according to Wressell votes,
- 37:34Speaker 2: this is the potential beginning to the build the Wrestle
- 37:37Speaker 2: eighty forty one Doctor Trey that we saw And maybe
- 37:39Speaker 2: that's part of the reason why this was such a
- 37:41Speaker 2: big deal show is you know Rock countdown like three, two,
- 37:45Speaker 2: one and then left and it appears tentative plans right
- 37:49Speaker 2: now always can change, as we know from last year.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Earlier this year, Cody Rhoads versus Roman Reigns versus The
- 37:56Speaker 2: Rock at Wrestlem eighty forty one is potentially on the
- 38:00Speaker 2: table right now for a match at RUSS many forty
- 38:03Speaker 2: one in Las Vegas. So overall, great stuff. I mean,
- 38:09Speaker 2: very very very very enjoyable finish of the show, which
- 38:13Speaker 2: is everything with the Bloodline. It's we've got a path
- 38:15Speaker 2: now for Cody Rhodes coming out of this one, and
- 38:18Speaker 2: where there's intrigue heading in the SmackDown. I love the
- 38:21Speaker 2: Gorilla creative video. You know that took place. They did
- 38:27Speaker 2: not put out we cameras purposely outside when that angle
- 38:30Speaker 2: took place with Ko and Roads. They knew the fans
- 38:33Speaker 2: were gonna take care of it. I'm sure there were
- 38:35Speaker 2: some plants out there just in case they got some
- 38:37Speaker 2: really bad videos. But overall, I mean just completely, very
- 38:41Speaker 2: very well done. So lots of different layers here, Doctor Trey,
- 38:46Speaker 2: You've got the layer of is there wargame implications Jimmy
- 38:49Speaker 2: Usso's back. Does Cody get away now from Roman for
- 38:52Speaker 2: a little bit? Does he get away from the Bloodline
- 38:53Speaker 2: for a little bit. Does this lead to a feud
- 38:55Speaker 2: with Ko that carries us the next couple months? Where
- 38:58Speaker 2: does the rock play into this entire thing? A lot
- 39:01Speaker 2: of questions coming out of this one. Good questions, intriguing questions,
- 39:05Speaker 2: entertaining questions, and overall a very good way to finish
- 39:08Speaker 2: the show. So pay p review prediction record I gave it.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I got five and oh Doctor Trey went three and two.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I'm one hundred and seventeen thirty on the year one
- 39:16Speaker 2: oh six and forty one for Doctor Trey pay per
- 39:19Speaker 2: view event ratings and Match of the night. I gave
- 39:23Speaker 2: Bad Blood a four point one out of five. My
- 39:26Speaker 2: match of the night was CM Punk and Drew McIntyre
- 39:28Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, What say you?
- 39:31Speaker 3: I had it at a four point two, so slightly higher,
- 39:33Speaker 3: and I had CEM Puck and Drew McIntyre as well,
- 39:36Speaker 3: like this is you.
- 39:38Speaker 1: You can't really put a show together where you have.
- 39:41Speaker 3: Like a great beginning and a great end, very memorable stuff. Yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 3: maybe the Naya Bailey match wasn't as up to pars,
- 39:50Speaker 3: maybe we hoped, but it was still better than most
- 39:52Speaker 3: Naya matches, and Finn and Dami was good. I like
- 39:56Speaker 3: living rheas. So we got five matches and I thought
- 39:59Speaker 3: they were all solid. Two fantastic coming out of this one.
- 40:03Speaker 2: There was a lot of discussion throughout the week about
- 40:06Speaker 2: w I think Fightful had a report out there that
- 40:08Speaker 2: ww likes doing the five matches events, that they're taking
- 40:12Speaker 2: the page out of NXC take Over, something that we
- 40:14Speaker 2: have pointed out and noticed here on the show over
- 40:17Speaker 2: the last year or so under the triple A terrain.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It then took another step there where WWE's business model
- 40:23Speaker 2: now for PLA weekends is where they have a big
- 40:26Speaker 2: match on SmackDown and a big match on Raw, or
- 40:29Speaker 2: matches on Raw and SmackDown, which is what we saw
- 40:34Speaker 2: this past week. We're heading into Bad Blood. You had
- 40:37Speaker 2: a triple threat ladder match for the tag team titles
- 40:40Speaker 2: with the Bloodline, DIY and Street Profits. That was a
- 40:42Speaker 2: very good match. And on Raw you had Gunther and Sammy,
- 40:46Speaker 2: you had Jay Usso and Xavier Woods. I like this idea,
- 40:50Speaker 2: Doctor Troy. I like that they're lending credence to the
- 40:54Speaker 2: importance of the shows leading into and out of the
- 40:57Speaker 2: pay per view, and I like that pl pay per
- 41:00Speaker 2: view quality matches are taking place on both before the
- 41:03Speaker 2: pl E and after the p l E. It seems
- 41:06Speaker 2: that there are some fans that are up in arms
- 41:08Speaker 2: a little bit about this, like this is something new
- 41:11Speaker 2: that WWE has done. Worded. There have been five matches max,
- 41:13Speaker 2: and they've been doing stuff on Friday or SmackDown on
- 41:16Speaker 2: SmackDown and then Monday and Raw. I guess it's a
- 41:19Speaker 2: little bit more concrete. I guess it's the plan that
- 41:21Speaker 2: they're going to be doing moving moving forward. Your thoughts
- 41:23Speaker 2: on the pl E weekend business model now for w A.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Uh Like, I wish there's maybe one more match, like
- 41:31Speaker 3: maybe one or two at times, but you know, the
- 41:35Speaker 3: business models changed and in the old days, you got
- 41:38Speaker 3: the workers got bonuses for working pl E slash pay
- 41:41Speaker 3: per views, and they don't really get that as much anymore.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Uh So, if if you can kind of pack the
- 41:48Speaker 3: whole weekend with having a great match on Friday, come back,
- 41:51Speaker 3: have the ple and then have another big match on Monday,
- 41:54Speaker 3: you're you're kind of getting it all and you're spreading
- 41:57Speaker 3: it out.
- 41:57Speaker 1: And one thing you and I.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Love is when they spread it out and we're not
- 42:02Speaker 3: stuck watching something for five hours. Like if you can
- 42:05Speaker 3: give me some big matches over three days, I'm fine
- 42:08Speaker 3: with that because I can kind of pick and choose
- 42:09Speaker 3: my spots then and I'm not tied to the couch
- 42:14Speaker 3: for an entire afternoon. I mean, we're in college football season, Jeff.
- 42:17Speaker 3: I can't watch college football a day and then go
- 42:20Speaker 3: into a poe right after it. My family will actually
- 42:23Speaker 3: up and leave me at some point.
- 42:24Speaker 1: So I like how it spread out.
- 42:27Speaker 3: I don't hate it as much as maybe I did
- 42:30Speaker 3: early on when they were only doing five matches and
- 42:32Speaker 3: we were getting kind of just solid stuff on Raw
- 42:35Speaker 3: and sotallid stuff on SmackDown. But like now, but that
- 42:37Speaker 3: triple threat match on SmackDown was really good Gunther and like,
- 42:42Speaker 3: not only did you have gun through Sammy and Jane Xavier,
- 42:44Speaker 3: you also had that Donnie Brook with Seamus and Pete Dunne.
- 42:47Speaker 3: I mean that was a fully loaded Raw also with
- 42:51Speaker 3: you know, the CM punk stuff, the seth rawl and
- 42:53Speaker 3: stuff like that was a fully loaded show. So I'm
- 42:57Speaker 3: fine with kind of spreading the wealth around. Plus what
- 42:59Speaker 3: that should is actually also helped increase ratings or increase
- 43:03Speaker 3: viewership to Netflix if you're going to have I mean,
- 43:06Speaker 3: we don't get the world title defended on Raw very
- 43:10Speaker 3: very often over the last ten years. I mean, if
- 43:14Speaker 3: that's a model they're going with, which if you look
- 43:17Speaker 3: at it, we talked about this a couple weeks ago.
- 43:18Speaker 3: The Gunther on the pecking order is kind of down
- 43:21Speaker 3: below quite a few guys. It's probably gonna happen a
- 43:25Speaker 3: little bit more often going forward until you get him
- 43:27Speaker 3: up in to where he's the main Evan guy on RAW.
- 43:29Speaker 3: So I like the trajectory there on with this.
- 43:33Speaker 2: It's gonna be interesting in the type of influence this
- 43:35Speaker 2: business model has now on the rest of the industry,
- 43:39Speaker 2: because I think AWS has had a very large influence
- 43:42Speaker 2: and changing the way that we's business model has taken
- 43:44Speaker 2: place with creative in ring stuff. The house shows the schedule,
- 43:50Speaker 2: taking care of the wrestlers, paying them more money whatever,
- 43:53Speaker 2: locking them up long term. There's been a big influence
- 43:55Speaker 2: on AAW. This is going to bleed into a little
- 43:58Speaker 2: bit about what we'll discuss your head in a Wrestle Dream.
- 44:01Speaker 2: But spoiler alert, this may be the least I have
- 44:05Speaker 2: been excited or interested in an AW pay per view
- 44:09Speaker 2: potentially ever in the entire five year existence of the company.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Heading into this Saturday for Wrestle Dream and I find
- 44:16Speaker 2: the AW pay per views, and I know this is
- 44:18Speaker 2: not a popular opinion amongst the hardcorese I find four
- 44:22Speaker 2: hours on a Saturday night or Sunday night of just
- 44:25Speaker 2: NonStop wrestling, great entering stuff, but kind of lacking a
- 44:30Speaker 2: little bit of entertainment. Out of the entertainment I'm seeing
- 44:32Speaker 2: from the inn ring to be a bit boring than
- 44:34Speaker 2: what I'm seeing in WE right now. And I think
- 44:37Speaker 2: W has influenced that where I like these shows where
- 44:41Speaker 2: they get in and get out, they get done what
- 44:44Speaker 2: they need to get done from an n ring standpoint,
- 44:46Speaker 2: they get done what they need to get done from
- 44:47Speaker 2: an entertaining standpoint, and even though it's five matches, I
- 44:51Speaker 2: feel like I'm getting most banged from my buck and
- 44:53Speaker 2: then heading into those pl weekends, I know that SmackDown
- 44:56Speaker 2: may have one or two great matches on the car
- 44:58Speaker 2: that are very intriguing and interesting for free television, and
- 45:01Speaker 2: I know Raw will have one or two great matches
- 45:03Speaker 2: that will be intriguing coming out of PLS on television
- 45:06Speaker 2: for free aw heading into Dynamite in Collision or in Rampage,
- 45:12Speaker 2: it's heading into those pay per view weekends. It's like
- 45:15Speaker 2: almost throwaway shows. Dynamite this past Wednesday was not good,
- 45:19Speaker 2: and we'll break down those viewerships here in a little bit,
- 45:21Speaker 2: and you're heading into the pay per view. I did
- 45:24Speaker 2: not personally enjoy that. So I wonder if there's any
- 45:27Speaker 2: influence here, Doctor Trey where the WWE pay per view
- 45:31Speaker 2: pl model will be reflective in AAW. At some point,
- 45:34Speaker 2: I think AW is gonna be too stubborn. I don't
- 45:36Speaker 2: think they're going to make any changes. I think they're
- 45:37Speaker 2: gonna stick with that four hour mark and ten matches
- 45:40Speaker 2: a card, and whether there is a lot of build
- 45:42Speaker 2: or very little build. I don't see AW changing it.
- 45:46Speaker 2: But I like that I'm getting most banged from my
- 45:47Speaker 2: buck from WWE and they're doing less matches than AW
- 45:51Speaker 2: is doing right now.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, the one thing we can say about
- 45:55Speaker 3: AAW is they are stubborn as hell at times. Like
- 45:59Speaker 3: they have their model, they run with it, they'll tweak it,
- 46:03Speaker 3: but for the most part, you never see wholesale changes.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I mean, if it gets to a point where we're.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Looking at an AW card it's got five or six
- 46:11Speaker 3: matches and that's all they have for the night, then
- 46:13Speaker 3: you know, then I'll take a little more notice. But
- 46:15Speaker 3: right now, like I just can't see Tony Kahan and
- 46:20Speaker 3: the upper management going, you know what they're doing. We
- 46:22Speaker 3: like that because that's why we get five hour pay
- 46:25Speaker 3: per views because they give those guys twenty to thirty
- 46:27Speaker 3: minutes every single match to go work it.
- 46:30Speaker 1: W You didn't do that in the past.
- 46:31Speaker 3: If they had eight matches on the card, you know
- 46:33Speaker 3: they're gonna be there's gonna be a five minute match
- 46:35Speaker 3: in there. There's gonna be something that's kind of a
- 46:37Speaker 3: throwaway now with that NXT model that they did so
- 46:41Speaker 3: successfully in the past, or and the Black and Gold era,
- 46:44Speaker 3: like you're getting fifteen twenty minutes for everybody on the
- 46:48Speaker 3: on the pl I mean, the women aren't getting cut short.
- 46:51Speaker 3: The tag matches, if it's on the pl is not
- 46:52Speaker 3: getting cut short. It gives guys a chance to really
- 46:55Speaker 3: do what they love the best. And I love that
- 46:57Speaker 3: fans are upset about this because the knock WWU has
- 47:00Speaker 3: always been oh, they talked too much, there's not enough wrestling.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Now you're getting more wrestling on the plees and people
- 47:07Speaker 3: are still not happy about it. So I guess you
- 47:10Speaker 3: can't please everybody.
- 47:12Speaker 2: So let's get into a doctor trey. This past Tuesday,
- 47:15Speaker 2: NXC versus AW head to head. NX did not load
- 47:19Speaker 2: up the box like they did a year ago, where
- 47:20Speaker 2: they had Cody and Cina an undertaker, et cetera, et cetera.
- 47:24Speaker 2: They just had Randy Orton and Saint Louis and that
- 47:25Speaker 2: was to move ticket sales, and that quasi didn't work folks,
- 47:28Speaker 2: because they moved from the arena that RAW was in
- 47:31Speaker 2: the night before into a much smaller arena at the
- 47:34Speaker 2: Factory in Saint Louis. This past Tuesday, AW has their
- 47:39Speaker 2: title Tuesday because of the MLB playoffs. Their headlined with
- 47:42Speaker 2: Wheeler You and Brian Danielson the world champion against Claudie
- 47:45Speaker 2: Ow and Pac. And this is a headhead matchup and
- 47:48Speaker 2: it's a head to head from the nine to ten
- 47:50Speaker 2: PM hour, I must say as well, So it actually
- 47:52Speaker 2: went from eight to ten. AW went from nine to eleven.
- 47:55Speaker 2: And I don't know why they did that. I don't
- 47:57Speaker 2: know if it was because the Baseball playoffs, I'm not
- 48:00Speaker 2: necessarily sure. Nonetheless, the viewership came out, So NXT did
- 48:06Speaker 2: eight hundred and seventy four thousand viewers a point two
- 48:09Speaker 2: four rating. AW did three hundred and twenty nine thousand viewers,
- 48:13Speaker 2: a point one zero rating for both eighteen to forty
- 48:17Speaker 2: nine for both NXT and AW. Dave Melt who is
- 48:20Speaker 2: often criticized as a staunch supporter of AW, wrote tweeted quote,
- 48:26Speaker 2: it's very clear at this point aw's audience, unlike two
- 48:29Speaker 2: years ago, is choosing WE, and they have less of
- 48:31Speaker 2: an exclusive audience than before. Doctor Trey. This is this
- 48:36Speaker 2: is very telling. Your thoughts here on the Head to
- 48:40Speaker 2: head were NXT like bitch slapped AW this past Tuesday night.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's concerning in a lot of ways, not
- 48:50Speaker 3: only the viewership, but I mean you can see from
- 48:52Speaker 3: from the arena in Spokane, like it just it was
- 48:58Speaker 3: mostly empty and you're looking going you got Darby Allen
- 49:02Speaker 3: and Brian Danson on the show, and those are Washington
- 49:04Speaker 3: State guys, and you couldn't draw a bigger crowd. Like
- 49:09Speaker 3: it's it is noticeably concerning, and like you said, like
- 49:14Speaker 3: WW didn't go out and sell out, Like there's no
- 49:17Speaker 3: undertaker coming out to beat up braun breaker.
- 49:19Speaker 1: John Sena is not on the building.
- 49:21Speaker 3: It's literally Randy Orton and Javon Evans, who outside of
- 49:24Speaker 3: NXT fans, nobody knows who John Evans is. So it's
- 49:30Speaker 3: it's kind of one of those things where like I
- 49:31Speaker 3: think even WW kind of went yeah.
- 49:33Speaker 1: We don't have to sell out for this one.
- 49:35Speaker 3: We can just go out there and be solid and
- 49:37Speaker 3: I think we can take them, and they kind of
- 49:39Speaker 3: prove their points. So it does make you nervous because
- 49:42Speaker 3: it was like I was. I had a friend of
- 49:44Speaker 3: the other day asking me about AW. I'm like, the
- 49:45Speaker 3: thing about it is like, it's a very solid operation.
- 49:49Speaker 3: It's a very solid show. It's a you know most
- 49:52Speaker 3: of the time. But there's nothing that's must see right now.
- 49:56Speaker 3: And I think with WW, you can say, man, I
- 49:58Speaker 3: got to see what's happening with the Roman and the Bloodline.
- 50:00Speaker 3: I gotta see what's happening with with Drew and cm Punk,
- 50:03Speaker 3: I gotta see what's happening with Rhea and Live. Like
- 50:06Speaker 3: there's enough stuff going on that you have to tune
- 50:09Speaker 3: in to watch. Where with AW right now is like
- 50:12Speaker 3: maybe the stuff with Moxley and Danielson, But outside of that,
- 50:17Speaker 3: is there really anything that is, you know, driving people
- 50:19Speaker 3: back to the TVs or into the arenas that's making
- 50:22Speaker 3: it a musty show.
- 50:23Speaker 1: I don't really think there is.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Yeah, they're having tough tough time selling tickets. It's very
- 50:28Speaker 2: noticeable on their website. If you out there and take
- 50:30Speaker 2: a look. There was a couple of markets I looked
- 50:32Speaker 2: at prior to the show and it's still very readily
- 50:34Speaker 2: available and it's next month, and these are markets where
- 50:36Speaker 2: they were selling out. The viewership is very concerning the
- 50:39Speaker 2: head to head with NXT. Who's very concerning this past
- 50:42Speaker 2: Wednesday's edition or Tuesday's edition of Dynamite heading into Russell
- 50:47Speaker 2: Dream again. I mentioned earlier on the show, this is
- 50:49Speaker 2: the first time for me, Doctor Trey, I could care
- 50:52Speaker 2: less about an AW pay per view this on this Saturday.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I walked out of that show and I was like,
- 50:58Speaker 2: what am I excited for? Intrigued to see where Moxley
- 51:02Speaker 2: and Danielson go because I want to know if this
- 51:05Speaker 2: leads to Sea McMahon potentially join an AAW. Outside of that,
- 51:10Speaker 2: Osprey Ta Takeashka, Ricochet, the return of Swerve. I mean,
- 51:17Speaker 2: it's a lot of stuff that I'm not looking forward to,
- 51:19Speaker 2: and it's like AW has a problem right now, and
- 51:24Speaker 2: all things considered, this isn't like me being a w
- 51:26Speaker 2: W homer, which I'll be criticized for on X or
- 51:29Speaker 2: on Facebook post show here. I legitimately think NXT is
- 51:33Speaker 2: better than AW right now. I am finding nxta more
- 51:37Speaker 2: entertaining than watching AW right now. And that's why on
- 51:40Speaker 2: Tuesday night for me personally, I watched NXT first, AW
- 51:44Speaker 2: second two three years ago, four years ago when it
- 51:47Speaker 2: was the Wednesday Night Wars, I was watching AAW first
- 51:50Speaker 2: NXT second And that's because I could watch NXT also
- 51:54Speaker 2: on demand on Peacock, but AW was better back then.
- 51:58Speaker 2: So they've got a problem on their hands. Doctor Treya,
- 52:02Speaker 2: do you do you feel the same way? Do you
- 52:04Speaker 2: feel like there's a major problem here? Could you care
- 52:06Speaker 2: less for wrestle during this Saturday? Where do you stand
- 52:08Speaker 2: on this entire thing?
- 52:10Speaker 3: Like I think I'm about where you're at, Like there's
- 52:12Speaker 3: nothing that to me is must sye like the like
- 52:17Speaker 3: the closest thing would be Danielson Moxley. And that's just
- 52:20Speaker 3: because I'm intrigued to see.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Where it goes.
- 52:23Speaker 3: I mean because supposedly they you know, Danielon loses his
- 52:26Speaker 3: last match, or they can put the title back on Boxley.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Does the shame thing happen? Does Wheeler turn on Danielson?
- 52:33Speaker 3: Like I am intrigued about that, and then Darby and
- 52:36Speaker 3: Brody King I'm intrigued by just because I really like
- 52:39Speaker 3: Brodie King. I think he's very, very underrated, So I'm
- 52:42Speaker 3: I want to see that match, but really everything else,
- 52:45Speaker 3: like we have the Young Bucks in Private Party kind
- 52:48Speaker 3: of like it, and when you look at the picture
- 52:51Speaker 3: of the of the card, it's featured pretty prominently.
- 52:53Speaker 1: And I'm like, Private.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Party has been getting their ass kicked for like the
- 52:57Speaker 3: better part of you know, three years, and all of
- 53:00Speaker 3: a sudden, now they're in line for a title shot
- 53:03Speaker 3: just because they kind of asked for one.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Like some of the stuff just doesn't make sense to me.
- 53:07Speaker 3: So their issue is once again, like there's nothing compelling
- 53:12Speaker 3: about their show that makes me want to watch other
- 53:16Speaker 3: than just wrestling action. Like I mean the stuff with
- 53:20Speaker 3: Osprey and Kyle Fletcher and Takeshka and Don Kallas. That's
- 53:25Speaker 3: a little interesting, but that's kind of where I kind
- 53:27Speaker 3: of thought that was going to go at some point.
- 53:29Speaker 1: But I mean, Jeff, is there anybody on.
- 53:32Speaker 3: This show that you just go, Man, I have to
- 53:34Speaker 3: see the entire show for this one guy or this
- 53:38Speaker 3: one segment. And I just I mean, I know you
- 53:41Speaker 3: love Aspray. I'm coming around. I'm becoming a bigger, bigger
- 53:44Speaker 3: will Ospray fan. Every single week but I mean, you
- 53:48Speaker 3: got no MJF. Jericho's kind of like there's Danielson's still
- 53:55Speaker 3: not a great by the way.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I hate his hair. I hate when he does the braids.
- 53:58Speaker 1: It looks ridiculous.
- 54:01Speaker 3: But there's just nothing exciting about the show right now
- 54:05Speaker 3: that makes me go, man, I gotta see what they're
- 54:08Speaker 3: gonna do. And those guys go out there and damn
- 54:10Speaker 3: near kill themselves in the ring. It's just the storytelling
- 54:14Speaker 3: and the stuff that goes on around it is just
- 54:17Speaker 3: not good right now, and it makes me just go,
- 54:20Speaker 3: like you where I'm just like, I'll probably check out
- 54:23Speaker 3: the highlights. I might check out a couple of matches.
- 54:25Speaker 3: I'm definitely not putting any money down for this show,
- 54:28Speaker 3: but I mean you don't have I mean, you spend
- 54:32Speaker 3: all this money on Oca Ocada's not even on the show, seriously, Like,
- 54:36Speaker 3: come on, guys.
- 54:38Speaker 2: I will say here so creatively, there's a couple of things,
- 54:41Speaker 2: and you brought up the Young Bucks private party stuff,
- 54:45Speaker 2: and I've actually enjoyed the character build a private party
- 54:49Speaker 2: for the last couple of weeks where the hand gets
- 54:52Speaker 2: smashed from John Moxley on Isaiah Cassidy and they start
- 54:57Speaker 2: lining themselves up to try to get back at the
- 54:59Speaker 2: Young and get back into a match, and they asked
- 55:02Speaker 2: for the match, they didn't get one. Then they were
- 55:04Speaker 2: getting victories. They got to win over the Young Bucks
- 55:07Speaker 2: and Jack Perry when they teamed with Katti or Shabada
- 55:11Speaker 2: on the previous edition of Dynamite. Then they win the
- 55:14Speaker 2: triple Threat match on Collision to become the number one contenders.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Here's the missing point though. Okay, Young Bucks were not
- 55:20Speaker 2: there on Wednesday, so they did not further that storyline
- 55:23Speaker 2: outside of a backstage segment with Private Party where they
- 55:27Speaker 2: cut a promo that pissed me off. Hangman Adam Paige
- 55:31Speaker 2: versus Jay White any other given time, and I expect
- 55:34Speaker 2: this on Saturday to be a great match, but that
- 55:36Speaker 2: deserves a great bill. Jay White comes back, he takes
- 55:40Speaker 2: out Hangman Paige who's attacking Juice Robinson. You figure Hangman
- 55:44Speaker 2: Page and Jay White will further this thing on Wednesday's Dynamite. Nope,
- 55:48Speaker 2: Jay White just cuts a Babyface promo for quasi Babyface
- 55:51Speaker 2: promo and that's that. It's like, what are we doing here?
- 55:56Speaker 2: And you mentioned Okada. I didn't even think about it.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Okata is not on the card for Wressel Dream. The
- 56:02Speaker 2: show is called Wressel Dream, right well, who is a
- 56:05Speaker 2: dream wrestler right now? Kazushka Okada, He's off the card.
- 56:10Speaker 2: I would have preferred that it was Ricochet versus Osprey
- 56:14Speaker 2: at this match, and they didn't do it at the
- 56:15Speaker 2: five Year Dynamite show. I would have preferred one on
- 56:19Speaker 2: one there. Then Kenoski Takeshka being randomly thrown into this one,
- 56:23Speaker 2: and there's been some good character arc with that. But
- 56:25Speaker 2: the build has just been met, and this is what
- 56:28Speaker 2: we've been saying. People are saying it as well. Again,
- 56:30Speaker 2: I will say that AW had a really rough time
- 56:33Speaker 2: until AW Revolution back in March. From AW Revolution to
- 56:37Speaker 2: about all Out, I felt like creatively entering wise and
- 56:41Speaker 2: as a company, they were starting to climb upwards again.
- 56:45Speaker 2: They were sending the ladder where I wanted to see
- 56:48Speaker 2: them as a fan of the business. Ever since all Out,
- 56:51Speaker 2: it's like, I don't know if a lot of different
- 56:53Speaker 2: stars align where Mjoff is off television because he's filming
- 56:57Speaker 2: right now. He's involved with the Happy Gilmore sequel and
- 57:01Speaker 2: he has a major role in that movie. Swerve Strickling
- 57:03Speaker 2: was rumored to be doing something in television. That's why
- 57:05Speaker 2: he's been off television in the last couple of weeks.
- 57:07Speaker 2: It's like, you know, Adam Copeland is still out with injury,
- 57:11Speaker 2: FTR is dealing with stuff at home from Helene, but
- 57:14Speaker 2: they haven't really been featured as much as they used
- 57:17Speaker 2: to be prior to all this. The Outrunners are really
- 57:19Speaker 2: climbing upwards and ascending, similar to the Acclaim did several
- 57:23Speaker 2: years ago, and they're not on the paper view card
- 57:25Speaker 2: to capitalize on that. It's like a bunch of things
- 57:28Speaker 2: that is just mind boggling. And as I watched Dynamite
- 57:31Speaker 2: Doctor Trey, all I could think of was again, and
- 57:35Speaker 2: I hate saying this, but I will if we didn't
- 57:38Speaker 2: do a podcast, I think I would stop watching AW
- 57:42Speaker 2: I legitimately thought that there would be the topic on
- 57:44Speaker 2: this show, and maybe there isn't a couple of weeks.
- 57:45Speaker 2: If this continues onwards, where how is this any different
- 57:48Speaker 2: from TNA in two thousand and nine, twenty ten when
- 57:50Speaker 2: we started this podcast and we decided this is just
- 57:53Speaker 2: so bad I can't watch it anymore. I mean, imagine
- 57:55Speaker 2: if you remove Dynamite Rampagent Collision from your viewing, you know,
- 58:00Speaker 2: that you do for professional wrestling. That's five hours each week,
- 58:02Speaker 2: and I just watch clips on YouTube like everybody else,
- 58:05Speaker 2: and it's like I can get five hours back of
- 58:07Speaker 2: my life and we don't cover it as much on
- 58:08Speaker 2: the show. Do we become a strictly WWE type podcast.
- 58:12Speaker 2: These are things that I've legitimately thought about in my
- 58:15Speaker 2: head because I was so damn disappointed with Tuesday's edition
- 58:18Speaker 2: in Dynamite. I thought it was missed opportunities. I think
- 58:20Speaker 2: it's been a very poor build overall with there are
- 58:24Speaker 2: some hits, a lot of misses. Heading in a wrestl
- 58:27Speaker 2: tream on Saturday. If I was someone that staunchly reported
- 58:30Speaker 2: AW and I bought every pay per view and I
- 58:33Speaker 2: tune in all the time, It's like, why the hell
- 58:35Speaker 2: would I spend fifty plus bus bucks on the show
- 58:37Speaker 2: other than the sport AW. I mean, there's very little
- 58:40Speaker 2: on this card that we will run through here momentarily
- 58:43Speaker 2: where I'm like, oh, I've been really happy with this build.
- 58:46Speaker 2: I can't wait to see the match on Saturday. Very
- 58:48Speaker 2: little and it's like AW continues to shoot themselves in
- 58:51Speaker 2: the foot. I see the viewership come out NXT versus
- 58:54Speaker 2: AW on Tuesday, and it was a complete bitch slap.
- 58:57Speaker 2: It was not seven hundred and fifty thousand with AW
- 58:59Speaker 2: six and fifty thousands of the NXT. It was a
- 59:01Speaker 2: five hundred thousand plus difference in both. I mean, mind Boline,
- 59:06Speaker 2: I know they did not both start at the same time,
- 59:08Speaker 2: but I thought that was very, very shocking and should
- 59:10Speaker 2: we talked about a lot more than it is right now?
- 59:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, to me, the one thing AW has
- 59:16Speaker 3: had a hard time with through the five years is
- 59:19Speaker 3: when somebody organically gets over or somebody gets hot, they
- 59:24Speaker 3: stop it way too short.
- 59:26Speaker 1: And that's one thing.
- 59:28Speaker 3: And I know what the documentary and everything else, everybody
- 59:30Speaker 3: goes on this anti vinceling, But the one thing Vince
- 59:32Speaker 3: Is always did and Triple H has been successful with
- 59:36Speaker 3: as well, is when somebody gets hot or gets over organically,
- 59:39Speaker 3: we feature the hell out of them because there's something
- 59:43Speaker 3: there we have to capitalize on. And when you have
- 59:46Speaker 3: somebody like the outrunners or whether it was the acclaimed
- 59:49Speaker 3: last year or somebody else just gets hot and the
- 59:51Speaker 3: crowd really gets into them, why the hell are they
- 59:54Speaker 3: not on the show, like, you have to capitalize on that.
- 59:58Speaker 3: I mean, you you go back two months ago to
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: the like Darby and Jack Perry with the coffin match
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: and Darby's one of the hottest guys in your company
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: and he loses in his specialty match basically clean, Like,
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: I just don't get it. It's like they kind of
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: it's very clickish and how they book their show where
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: it's like, yeah, certain guys that are kind of the
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: favorites are always going to get and you know, Crowby,
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: dam it's a little bit that Vince stubbornness that you
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: and I have talked about for damn near a decade
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: kind of coming out in aw and Tony Con where
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: it's like, yeah, if you're not part of the inner
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: circle quote unquote, yeah, you may not be seen, you
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: may not be featured, you may not get over it.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: If you don't get over because of us, if you
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: get over on your own and not with us, then yeah,
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: you might not be seen anyway. So it's just it's
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: doesn't make sense to me. And then it is a
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: little bit bad timing. Somebody gets hot, somebody has a
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: great match, and then they have another commitment that they
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: have to take, which boggles my mind as well, Like,
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: like I know MJFS wanted to dip his toes into
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: the Hollywood stuff, but you got to swerve coming out
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: this great angle with Hangman Page and you know he's
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: gonna go off and do something.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: It's like, where are your priorities?
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: I mean, Ww's always like, hey, your priorities to the company.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: If there's something else going on, we can work around it. Great,
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: will work around it. But your priority is us. And
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: I think that aw is almost too nice in that
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: where it's like somebody's hot, he gets it offered to
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: do TV. Oh yeah, well yeah, you're hot right now.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Everybody wants to see you. Yeah, I go take six
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: weeks off, out of sight, out of mind.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: People forget.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: So it just that they've had a knack of doing
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: that for their entire history in this show or of
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: their show. Is some again is hot, They get featured,
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden they're just gone, and
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: people kind of forget about it.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: I know they've got the big deal one hundred and
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: eighty five million each year for the next three to
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: four years and a Warner Brothers Discovery. That's great, very
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: very talented roster. I enjoy the work that they do.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I've really liked that they've pushed the envelope in the
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: world of professional wrestling, but the gap is getting wider
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: between them and w WAE right now, and they need
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: to do stuff now to close that gap again. Because
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: they were knocking on the doorstep of just strictly me
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: wanting to watch AW over we several years ago, and
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: it's like ever since then, all out twenty twenty one,
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: it's it's been very much a slow downturn for AW.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: It really reminds me a lot of TENA Doctor Trey.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: I watched them in and out from like two thousand
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: and two when they launched till about the Monday Night
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Wars when we started doing this podcast, and then I
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: never really returned outside the pandemic. I would tune in
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: and I would watch them on a regular basis when
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: they were back as Impact Wrestling, I'll watch them from
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: far and check out some stuff on YouTube. But I
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: feel like that could be the direction it's going for
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: me as a fan, where I mean, it's just reminiscent
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: to me in my mind of like two and nine
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: twenty ten TNA, where it's like this is the beginning
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: of the end of their popularity, and I don't want
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: that to be true, but I'm just like sick and
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: tired of the last three years of this stop start.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: You know, good stretches are creative. Really bad stretches are creative,
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: no character build, no character development, great entering stuff, but
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: like potentially boring at the end of the night. And
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: that's kind of where I'm at right now. Not true.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: I think AW is a major problem, and I think
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: doing this podcast kind of saves them for me. I
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: don't know if you're there yet, but that's that's how
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: I feel.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: I mean, if you look at the five year run,
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: it's reminiscent of TNA from two thousand and six to
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: twenty eleven, where it was really cool at first, people
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: were checking it out, people were tuning in. They try
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: to go bigger, they try to do something else, and
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: then stuff goes sideways. It's reminiscent of WCW from about
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: ninety six to about two.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Thousand and one.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: You know, the launch of the nWo, all the excitement,
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: all the craziness, all these new stars coming up, and
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: then by the end the inmates are the inmates are
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: running the asylum, and stuff's gone off the rails and
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: we're getting the Magnificent Seven and all the other presents.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: That went on New Blood.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: It's just yeah, I mean, it's just sometimes like you know,
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: it's it's the common thing that we have said for
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: five years is that Tony Kahn's a really nice guy
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: and he wants to be friends with everybody.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: But sometimes you have to be an.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: A hole when you're in charge and go, look there,
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: there's a system, there's a way that things work.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: There's and there's enough guys that.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Have crossed over from WWE into AW that knows the
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: formula and knows the system and knows how stuff should
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: be structured to where this stuff should make more sense
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: and put on better television. I think they forget that
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: they're a television show. There's I mean, my common complaint
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: for five years has been like, leave me with a
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: cliffhanger at the end of the show where I have
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: to tune in the next week to see what happens.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: And they have very seldom done that.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: And when and they have done it, they've blown the
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: angle up like within a couple of weeks. I'm talking
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: like the firm, you know, we talked about it last
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: week's show, just in passing. I'm like they come up
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: with a cool angle and you're like, oh, this is great,
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: and then either they blow the angle up or somebody
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: gets hurt because they do too much in the ring,
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: and then they're out for a year and the whole
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: angle just goes away.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: It's really frustrating at times when.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: You try to go, look, I'm giving you guys every
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: opportunity to win me over and make me a die
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: hard fan, and right now I'm just on the peripheral
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: checking out YouTube clips.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm right there. It's it's an interesting time, so
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: let's get into it. AW Russell Dream Prever predictions this
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Saturday for the Tacoma Dome and Tacoma Washington. Hopefully it
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: turns itself around as being a solid card. I hope
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: when we get back here next Thursday. People that are like,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: you guys are being too harsh on AW. Doc Train
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: and I sit here and we're like, yeah, we didn't
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: enjoy the build, but that was a four point zero
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: plus show and that's very well possible because they have
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: the n ring talent to do it. Heading into this one,
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: it's like, man, this is a very out of character
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: build for AW, which is concerning because they should be
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: capitalizing right now, not falling backwards when w w W
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: is hitting stuff out of the park. First match here,
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: case of point, Doctor Trey Atlantis Junior defends the ROH
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: World Television Championship against Brian Cage. I have no idea
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: how they got to this point. I don't watch r OH.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: It's on the card. I'm gonna take it. Atlantis Junior.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I just learned this week that Brian Cage portrayed
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Mortis in WWE briefly in some dark matches.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: I did not know that, really.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: I thought that was I thought that was Chris Kanyon.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: No.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: I actually saw him posts on his Facebook page. He
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: actually posted that Canyon Lent gave him the Mortis outfit, uh,
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: to kind of carry on the Mortis Mortis legacy when
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: he was doing the MVP stuff. So, uh, yeah, I
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: did not know. I'll send you. I'll screenshot and send
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: it to you this week. But yeah, I didn't know
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: Lantis Junior was the Ring of Honors.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I wasn't champion.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: I thought Atlantis Junior was a small casino in Erna, Nevada.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: But I'll take him to win because Brian Cage doesn't
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: win titles in AAW, so I'll take it.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Atlantis Junior.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Next match here is Hologram taking on the Beast Mortos
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: in a two out of three falls match. They're really
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: pushing Hologram doctor Trem. I'm going to take Hologram.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And they were really pushing Mortos a month ago,
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: and then he's now in L I J L I G.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: I don't know who it is now.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I'm taking Hologram because I think this way, he actually
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: gets a loss, so that way, he's technically not undefeated
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: because he gets pinned at one point, but I think
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: he wins the match two out of three, So I'll
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: take Hologram as well.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Yeah. And by the way, talking about on last week's
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: show with Don Kallis and l I J, they did
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: a trade with Lance Archer going to Don Kallis's family
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: and of course the guy that you would think of,
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Jake Roberts now being the man for L I J.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: Going forward. Jake Roberts, who I have not seen on
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: AW television maybe a year, is back as manager MXM Collection,
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: who I do enjoy, and they are taking on the
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Acclaim and a tag team match. I really want to
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: pick MXM Collection, but I'm going to take the Acclaimed
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: in this one.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I totally agree with you.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I really want to pick MXM, but I'm taking the
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: Acclaimed as well.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Hangman Out Page takes on Jay White. I'm going to
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: take hang Man Out in Paige.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: I'm taking a hanging Man as well as and that
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: was a Jay's promo on Dynamo is actually really good,
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: but I'm taking a Hangman as well.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Maria May defends the AW Women's World champions against Willow Nightingale.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: I will take Mariah May.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: I don't know how many of these were gonna disagree
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: on because I'm with you on this one as well.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: I'm taking Mariah May getting the win.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: That's part of the reason when I was like building
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: this card out for the show, I was like, man,
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: I don't see many title changes here. The Young Bucks
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: defend the AW World Tag Team Champion against a Private Party.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: I would love to pick Private Party, but I'm going
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: to go with the Young Bucks.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: I'm taking the Young Bucks as well.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Will Osprey to the AW International Championship against Rikoshet. Knoski
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: Takeshka in a three way match. Who do you like
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: this one? Doctor?
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: Try this This is the one where I was like,
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: I don't know where I'm going with those one because
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: I could make a case for Takeshka, but uh man,
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: I think I'm gonna take Ospray retaining. I just think
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: he's on a hot streak, so I think you gotta
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: run with it for now. So I'm taking Ospray's on
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: this one.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna take Osprey as well. Jack Perry defends the
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: AWT and T Championship against Katti or Shabata, Doctor Tree,
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: who do you liking this one?
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: I'm going with a scapegoat because when you have a
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: goat that headbutts against the Japanese minute head.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: But you picked the animal.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: I'm going to take Jack Perry as well. Darby Allen
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: take it on, brody Kin. I'm gonna go with Darby Allen.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: As much as I want to pick Brody King.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: I'm picking Darby because Darby needs a win because he
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: got beat by Jack Perry and then got beat by
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: John Moxley, so Darby needs a win.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: This is the next two matches, the one I'm having
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: trouble with. You got Mark Briskett defend the ROH World
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Championship against Chris Jericho. Who do you like this one? Doctor? Try?
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: This one's tough because I think Joe Samo. Joe might
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: have gotten done filming Twisted Metal, so I can see
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: Joe coming out to help Briscoe win. I think I'm
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: gonna take Jericho regaining the ROH title of making him
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: the what comes after?
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Ohow he said the Nueva. He actually said that in
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: a promo.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: I missed the promo because God knows, I don't watch
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: all his promos, so I can see Jericho becoming the Nueva.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: So I'll take Jericho.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Jericho as well, because I think
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: they want to have another ROA show towards the end
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: of the year, and they gotta put some butts in
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: the seat. And then finally, this is a tough one,
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Doctor Trey. Brian Danielson defends the AW World Championship against
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: John Moxley. I'm gonna pick John Moxley this one. I
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: think wheelder you to turns and Danielson goes away now
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: for a little bit. I don't think you've done. You
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: do this six to eight week build with John Moxley
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: being a major focal point for your AW television, only
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: for him to lose the first time he gets a
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: World Championship match. So I think this leads to an
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: another era in chapter where they take over the company,
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: because if he lost, it's be like, what was the
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: point of that. Now I'm gonna take Moxley in this one.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with you, Like it's funny because it was
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: just a short time ago you and I sat here
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: and said who's gonna be the guy to have thrown
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: Danielson at I don't know if we had Moxley on
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: the list, but yeah, I'm taking Moxley as well, And
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: it's all for the same reasons, like I just see
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: you to turning the BCC kind of taking over. I
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: don't know if Shane comes in or not, but you
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: know they've declared war on aw for being and this
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: is I'm actually for me. That makes him a baby
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: face because I agree with everything Moxley's saying. So I'm
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: taking Moxley get the win as well.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they kind of alluded to a Wheeler
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: turn there a little bit of foreshadowing that tag team
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: match where Danielson was off the apron for a decent
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: amount of time and Wheeler went for that tag several
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: times and he was not there, so that could certainly
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: be a storyline reason as to why he turns on Danielson. Yes,
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: after try to.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: Mention he's still part of the six man tag team
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: or the six man Tag Team Champions, that is true.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: I mean, how often do you see that where the
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: trios champions are a feud with one another?
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I forgot that was the phrasing my bat No problem.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: So let's get a couple plugs and spots out of

- 1:13:06Speaker 3: this is a city that is actually on the state
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: line between Tennessee and Alabama, so there's one city in
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: two different states.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: It's really cool. I love that town.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: But I'll be up there helping support their local police
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: departments on the twenty six But most importantly, go out
