Latest / Mom Street USA / 86. How to Tackle Rope Drop at Disney
Transcript
- 0:05Welcome everybody to Mom St. USA.
- 0:07My name is Jackie AKA Wishes Mama.
- 0:10And for this episode of Mom St. USA, we are going to be
- 0:14revisiting a topic that we actually discussed about 5:00 or
- 0:18so months ago here at Mom Street.
- 0:21But we've got some new things to talk about and some new updates
- 0:24and that is early entry and rope drop at the Disney parks.
- 0:29So that is our topic for today. Like I said, Kate and I
- 0:33discussed this not too long ago, but there's some new strategies
- 0:39and some new kind of setup for some of these theme parks.
- 0:43So wanted to come with to you guys with some updated
- 0:47information regarding all of that.
- 0:49So before we hop in just some a quick rundown of what early
- 0:56entry and rope drop are in case you are unfamiliar or haven't
- 0:59heard or are new to this whole Disney Parks thing.
- 1:04Early entry is what Disney calls the time that resort guests get
- 1:12before the official park opens. So at if you are staying at a
- 1:17Disney resort, that would be any of the resorts on property at
- 1:20Disney World and the what three I think it is on property at
- 1:24Disneyland, you will get early entry, which is a 30 minute
- 1:29period before official park open that you will have access to the
- 1:34rides. So you'll hear me use that term
- 1:37throughout the evening tonight as we talk about the difference,
- 1:42different strategies for early entry.
- 1:46And you'll hear me talk about kind of on property versus off
- 1:51property because there are some differences in strategies when
- 1:54it comes to utilizing rope drop and early entry for that.
- 1:58So again, early entry is that extra time that you get if you
- 2:01are a resort guest, rope drop is basically just park open.
- 2:06It's when the, you know, for years and years and years,
- 2:10Disney had official rope drops, quote UN quote, where they would
- 2:14have cast members with ropes across a lot of the different
- 2:18pathways and things that you can find to gain access to those
- 2:22rides throughout the park. And rope drop is literally what
- 2:26it sounds like. It is the act of them dropping
- 2:28the rope to allow people to go through.
- 2:31So you'll hear kind of both of those terms used in this
- 2:36episode. So I wanted to make sure you
- 2:37kind of had an idea about what we were talking about so that
- 2:41way you can kind of stay on the same page as we go through each
- 2:44of these. Today's episode is going to
- 2:46focus on Disneyland and Disney World.
- 2:49We're not going to talk about overseas parks for this one,
- 2:51just wanted to focus on the US based parks.
- 2:54We did cover this in episode 69, so not too long ago.
- 3:00And the majority of what I'm going to talk about for
- 3:02Disneyland is still the same as what we talked about in that
- 3:05episode. But a couple of the parks for
- 3:08Disney World have had some pretty significant changes to
- 3:12either their early entry process or their rope drop process.
- 3:16So wanted to bring you guys that updated information so that you
- 3:21could best prepare for any upcoming trips that you may
- 3:23have. All of that being said, let's
- 3:27kind of hop into some general tips.
- 3:31One more thing I do want to mention is that we are going to
- 3:33talk a little bit about Lightning Lanes in this episode,
- 3:37but we are not going in depth. So this is not your guide for
- 3:41what to do with lightning lanes, how to do them, those types of
- 3:45things. I am planning to do an another
- 3:49refresher on Lightning Lanes and AQ and a here coming up in about
- 3:53a month or so. So we'll tackle all of the
- 3:57logistics of that in in a few, a few episodes down the line.
- 4:01But you will hear me mention some some strategies for
- 4:05lightning lanes just because a lot of this information for
- 4:09early entry and rope drop really can be swayed one way or the
- 4:13other by whether or not you are utilizing those lightning lanes.
- 4:16So I can't completely leave it out, but I'm not going to go
- 4:19super in depth with the lightning lanes for this
- 4:23particular episode. Now a couple of general tips for
- 4:27if you are planning to utilize early entry and planning to be
- 4:32at the parks for rope drop. Let's talk about those.
- 4:36First of all, you got to get some sleep.
- 4:38Those are going to be early mornings.
- 4:40If you're trying to do rope drop, you know you're you may
- 4:44have to plan accordingly to not be out for an evening show the
- 4:48night before you're planning on doing a big rope drop.
- 4:52It depends on your group, depends on how much sleep you
- 4:54need, depends on if you are early risers or not.
- 4:57But definitely planning out at least a little extra sleep
- 5:02before you need to get up early for that rope drop plan.
- 5:07The other thing that I will say is prepping the night before can
- 5:11be massively helpful. So depending on again, your
- 5:15party, your travel group, that could be laying out clothes for
- 5:19you, for your other adults, for your kids in your group, that
- 5:23could be being sure that your park bag is packed and ready to
- 5:27grab so you're not running around the room scrambling to
- 5:30find things in the morning, setting out things for breakfast
- 5:34if you're able to. So if you're doing granola bars,
- 5:39pop tarts, easy muffins, something quick to grab, kind of
- 5:43setting that out and prepping that the night before can be
- 5:46helpful. Also prepping your coffee.
- 5:49I know that's something that I, we, a lot of us do probably well
- 5:53at home, but maybe not so well at Disney or when we're on
- 5:56vacation. But prep your coffee so that way
- 5:59you can just hit start in the morning and you won't be stuck
- 6:01waiting for your coffee to brew before you want to get out the
- 6:05door. So those are kind of my night
- 6:08before suggestions. If you're planning to do an
- 6:12early morning for a rope drop, another suggestion that I have
- 6:15is give yourself more travel time than you think that you
- 6:19will need. Getting to the parks from your
- 6:22resort, whether you are on property, off property, no
- 6:26matter where you're staying, can take longer than you think.
- 6:30Because not only do you have to factor in drivetime, which is
- 6:33fairly easy to do with all of our technology and maps and
- 6:36things like that, but you're going to have to factor in
- 6:40parking time. If you're parking and if you're
- 6:42driving and parking, walking time from whatever transport
- 6:45you're taking, whether that's the bus, a sky liner, a car,
- 6:50that walking time. And then also security time.
- 6:52Because every theme park has those security gates that you
- 6:56will have to go through before you can get into the park.
- 6:59So factoring in extra time to be able to, to handle all of that,
- 7:05especially when it's a really busy season like the holidays,
- 7:09you really want to make sure you give yourself enough time.
- 7:13Another suggestion that I have is when you are looking for your
- 7:18rope drop ideas and we're going to talk about strategy and what
- 7:22what rides I suggest and my thoughts and things like that
- 7:25here shortly for each park. But you really need to have like
- 7:29an ABC plan, right? You need to have OK, top choice
- 7:33plan A, we want to go here and then here and then here.
- 7:36OK, maybe your top ride is the line is too long by the time you
- 7:41make it through security and through the gates and you have
- 7:43to pivot. You want to have some backup
- 7:45plans to pivot because standing around during early entry and
- 7:50having to make a decision in the moment is not only stressful,
- 7:55but it wastes time. Your time in the morning when
- 7:59you are getting to the parks can be so beneficial to getting
- 8:02through a ton of rides. The first, I'd say 2 hours that
- 8:08a park is open is really your best time to get through a ton
- 8:11of attractions and knock a bunch of things off your list.
- 8:14So making sure you have those plan A, Plan B, plan C can
- 8:19really help you not waste time and just go, OK, that didn't
- 8:22work, pivot to Plan B and so on and so forth and that will make
- 8:26it so much easier. The other thing is with those
- 8:29plans, when you physically get in the park and you're lining
- 8:34up, queuing up, ready to go, you need to put yourself in a
- 8:37position for success. So know where you're going, know
- 8:41what ride you're trying to get to, know which area you need to
- 8:46kind of set yourself up for success.
- 8:49Know where the stroller parking is.
- 8:51If you've got kiddos and strollers that are going with
- 8:53you and you know that OK, we want to hit Space Mountain
- 8:57first, know where you're going to dump your stroller so that
- 9:00way you're not wasting a ton of time getting in and out of the
- 9:03stroller before you get into the queue for that particular
- 9:06attraction. Just as an example.
- 9:09This can also help you avoid backtracking.
- 9:13So if you know that during, I'll just keep using this Magic
- 9:16Kingdom example, which will again, we'll talk about the
- 9:18parks here shortly. But that way if you know you
- 9:20want to hit, let's say, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and
- 9:25Winnie the Pooh during your early entry, you know what makes
- 9:29sense to go where. So that way you're not doing a
- 9:32ton of cross back tracking, especially if if you've got
- 9:36things in different spaces in the parks, different lands,
- 9:39different areas, you want to kind of cluster them together to
- 9:42help you avoid that. Knocking out an entire land or
- 9:46an entire half of the park or or section of the park on the map
- 9:50is really beneficial during your early entry time because then
- 9:53you don't have all that extra walking later in the day to try
- 9:57to backtrack and go back to where you were originally like
- 10:01first thing in the morning. So those are just kind of my
- 10:04overall general tips when it comes to rope drop and when it
- 10:10comes to early entry. But now let's jump into the
- 10:13parks and the the previous episodes that Kate and I did
- 10:17this, we did some really in depth stuff on, especially on
- 10:22Disneyland. Not a lot has changed at
- 10:25Disneyland. So I'm going to go over it
- 10:27again, but it's not going to be maybe as in depthly as we did
- 10:30before just because a lot of this is pretty standard for
- 10:34those parks out on the West Coast.
- 10:36So let's talk about Disneyland, a couple things about each park.
- 10:41We'll go over kind of a general idea of when I suggest you
- 10:47arrive. This can all vary greatly based
- 10:50on how busy the parks are, what time of year it is.
- 10:54Those types of things can all have an effect obviously on the
- 10:58crowds and what time you should arrive.
- 11:00But generally speaking, I'm going to give you guys some tips
- 11:03for easily on the crowds and what time you should arrive.
- 11:06But generally speaking, I'm going to give you guys some tips
- 11:09for each park and then talk about where I would go if I were
- 11:13utilizing early entry and then where I would go if I'm
- 11:17utilizing rope drop as a non resort guest.
- 11:20So for Disneyland, I suggest that you get there at least 45
- 11:26minutes before whatever time it is that you have access to the
- 11:30park. So you want to give yourself
- 11:33plenty of time to get in, get ready to go.
- 11:35So that way you can again, position yourself accordingly.
- 11:39So whichever side of the park you are planning to go to, you
- 11:44are ready to go at the correct time so that you do not miss
- 11:48that early entry access time for that.
- 11:51Or rope drop if you're doing rope drop for for park or non
- 11:55resort guests. Sorry if you are utilizing
- 11:59lightning lanes. The lightning lanes out in
- 12:01Disneyland are different than Disney World.
- 12:04So talking Disneyland, you will purchase your lightning lanes
- 12:08and book your first one as soon as you have tapped into the
- 12:11park. Keep in mind, if you have a
- 12:13large group, you need to make sure that you are that everybody
- 12:17has tapped into the park and that everybody's ticket has been
- 12:20scanned on your app. So you can book for more than
- 12:23one or for your whole group at one time.
- 12:26As far as order that you should book your lightning lanes again,
- 12:29going to briefly go over this. We have to touched on this
- 12:32before, but if you're booking Lightning Lanes for Disneyland,
- 12:37my suggestion to you is book Indiana Jones first, then
- 12:41Matterhorn, Smugglers Run and Big Thunder Mountain and then
- 12:44kind of go about your day from there depending on what rides
- 12:48you're able to do standby or during this rope drop time
- 12:51period. So those are my suggestions for
- 12:54the order for Lightning Lanes. Again, you book them one at a
- 12:57time out in Disneyland. Still for the single pass rides
- 13:02out there, Rise of the Resistance is the one that you
- 13:05have your single pass for. So if you choose to purchase
- 13:08that, if your budget allows, that is your option and you
- 13:11would do that again as soon as you tap in.
- 13:14So let's talk about rope drop and early entry.
- 13:18Your best use of time early in the park at Disneyland is to go
- 13:25to your Fantasyland area. Mostly because if you are using
- 13:30Lightning Lanes at Disneyland, the majority of the rides in
- 13:34Fantasyland do not have Lightning Lane access.
- 13:38Their queues are not set up to be that way.
- 13:40They don't have enough space for any additional lines, so they
- 13:43are not included in your Lightning Lane multi pass out in
- 13:47Disneyland. So I always suggest that you
- 13:51head there first to try to get a lot of those out of the way
- 13:54because there's just no option for helping you make those lines
- 13:58shorter. And again, that goes for
- 14:00Lightning Lane. No Lightning Lane, you know, or
- 14:04whether or not you are utilizing early entry.
- 14:07Fantasyland in the morning is going to be the best place for
- 14:09you. I'm going to give you kind of
- 14:11two different categories of the rides that I would prioritize.
- 14:15Dependent land in the morning is going to be the best place for
- 14:17you. I'm going to give you kind of
- 14:19two different categories of the rides that I would prioritize
- 14:23depending on your situation. And then you can kind of mix and
- 14:27match, mix and match and pick and choose what makes sense for
- 14:31your group that is visiting Disneyland.
- 14:33So if you've got non thrill seekers or a bunch of small
- 14:38children with you, I would suggest in the morning first
- 14:43thing again, you'd utilizing early entry or getting there
- 14:47right at rope drop. You're going to want to visit
- 14:49Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo, Snow White, the Carousel, Mr. Toad,
- 14:55Casey Junior, and then Small World.
- 14:57So you're knocking out that fantasyland section that we just
- 15:00talked about. I'm getting a lot of those done
- 15:02early on. That way you get through as many
- 15:04as possible before those lines get too long later in the
- 15:09afternoon. Now if you are a group that has
- 15:13older kids, teens, or thrill seekers that are tall enough to
- 15:17ride things, your early entry and or rope drop time is going
- 15:23to look a little bit different out of Disneyland.
- 15:26My suggestion for the the order that you do the rides out there
- 15:34would be to go to Space Mountain first.
- 15:36So that's going to be your first one that you hit.
- 15:38If you are a thrill seeker, then Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Big
- 15:43Thunder Mountain Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Star Tours.
- 15:47Now that list just kind of have to take a look at the list,
- 15:51figure out what makes sense for you.
- 15:53Because if you're someone utilizing lightning lanes, you
- 15:55heard me say earlier, Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, you know,
- 16:00those are two of the the ones that I listed earlier for
- 16:02lightning lanes. Those are also two of the ones
- 16:05that I listed on that priority list.
- 16:08So just pick and choose what makes sense and skip over the
- 16:12ones that you know you're going to have lightning lanes for,
- 16:15especially early in the morning. So again, you could also still
- 16:19do them during your early entry and rope drop time and then do
- 16:24them a second time with a lightning lane if you chose to
- 16:27later on in the day as well. So a couple different options
- 16:30for that if you are looking to hit some of those more E ticket
- 16:35or thrill seeking attractions at Disneyland.
- 16:39So that kind of in a nutshell is my suggestion for Disneyland.
- 16:43Again, Fantasyland is really important.
- 16:46And then for your thrill seekers, Space Mountain,
- 16:48Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain.
- 16:51So kind of just hitting the highlights of those big coaster
- 16:55style rides out there at Disneyland.
- 16:58Now California Adventure has its own set of of information that
- 17:04you need to know if you are visiting there.
- 17:07Again, you're going to want to arrive to California Adventure
- 17:10about 45 minutes before you can gain access to the park.
- 17:13That's to give time for you to go through security to get
- 17:19queued up at the gate. Figure out what you need to do
- 17:23again once if you are utilizing lightning lanes.
- 17:26Once you tap in and your whole party has tapped into the park,
- 17:30then you are able to start to book those.
- 17:36There is a virtual queue at California Adventure that is one
- 17:40of the only parks currently in the US that is utilizing virtual
- 17:44queue. And we'll talk about that more
- 17:45in Disney World here a little bit later.
- 17:48But there is the virtual queue for World of Color, which is the
- 17:52nighttime show at DCA. And the World of Color virtual
- 17:57queue drops at noon and it gives you a specific viewing area that
- 18:01you have kind of like reserved then.
- 18:03So definitely suggest doing that.
- 18:05It is free, anybody can do it. You just have to hop on your app
- 18:09at noon on your Disneyland app to join that for your group.
- 18:14Now if you are utilizing Lightning lanes at California
- 18:17Adventure, a couple just notes on the lightning lanes that I
- 18:23would suggest you look into first.
- 18:27As far as booking, I would grab a time for Guardians Mission
- 18:31Breakout first if you're utilizing Lightning Lanes at
- 18:34DCA. After that I would look at Web
- 18:36Slingers, Toy Story, Midway Mania, and Sauron.
- 18:40So that's kind of your short list.
- 18:42Again, there are more attractions other than that, but
- 18:44that's kind of your short list for priority for Lightning Lanes
- 18:47at TCA. As far as single pass goes,
- 18:51Radiator Springs Racers does have a single pass option there.
- 18:55So if that is something that you are budgeting for or you want to
- 18:59purchase, you will again do that as soon as you tap into, as soon
- 19:03as your whole party has tapped into the park.
- 19:07Just a word of caution for rope drop with DCA.
- 19:10You will hear a lot of people talk about rope dropping
- 19:13Radiator Springs Racers. That is your big ticket
- 19:18attraction back in cars land. I don't necessarily agree with
- 19:25that suggestion because a couple things everyone goes there so it
- 19:31immediately the line gets crazy long.
- 19:35It is also one that does not always actually frequently does
- 19:40not open on time. It's very slow to wake up in the
- 19:45morning. So keep those things in mind
- 19:48because you may get there. I talked about having plan A,
- 19:51Plan B, Plan C, you may get there and you may have to
- 19:55immediately pivot if it's not open.
- 19:57So plan accordingly. Make sure you know what you're,
- 20:00what you're thinking and what you're doing.
- 20:03The nice thing is at Disneyland in general with those two parks,
- 20:06it's easy to hop between the two.
- 20:09So that may help you out. With something like Radiator
- 20:12Springs Racers, because it does have a single rider line.
- 20:17So if you are a person who is able to or a group that doesn't
- 20:20mind, you know, if you've got a bunch of teenagers and adults
- 20:24you don't mind riding separately, that's a great
- 20:26option. Or riding it at the very end of
- 20:28the night, if it's a night where you've already seen the night
- 20:32time shows or you don't plan to see the night time shows for
- 20:35that evening, you can jump in line kind of close to park close
- 20:40to help alleviate some of the weights that you would have for
- 20:43that one. But now let's talk about what
- 20:46rides to prioritize. Again, this is regardless of if
- 20:52you're using lightning lanes or not.
- 20:54So if you have some of these booked for lightning lanes, then
- 20:57you don't need to necessarily rope chop them unless you want
- 21:00to do a second ride for these. But this order would be what I
- 21:05would suggest when it comes to rope drop or early entry
- 21:08depending on when you're entering the park.
- 21:12First ride you're going to want to do is Web Slingers, then head
- 21:15to Soren and then you're going to head over to Cars Land to hit
- 21:19Mater's Junker Jamboree and Luigi's Rollican Roadsters.
- 21:23Again, we are saving the Radiator Springs Racers for
- 21:29either later in the day or a single rider later on.
- 21:33And then after Luigi's you're going to do the Pixar pal around
- 21:38Toys R, Midway Mania and a credit coaster and then go from
- 21:42there. Just a note that you did not
- 21:44hear me mention Guardians Mission Breakout on that list.
- 21:50And that would be because I highly suggest if you have not
- 21:53purchased a Lightning Lightning Lanes and you're not planning to
- 21:56use a Lightning Lane for that, I would wait on that until the end
- 21:58of the night. So you may have to kind of
- 22:01decide, you know, if you are going to be doing just a single
- 22:05pass for Radiator Springs Racer, then Guardians would be your
- 22:09last ride. If you're not, then you just may
- 22:12have to kind of pick and choose and decide, one, what your
- 22:14budget will allow you to do and then two, which of those is most
- 22:19important if you only have one evening in DCA.
- 22:22Just a lot of things to consider when it comes to logistics for
- 22:26those rides. So all of that being said,
- 22:29that's kind of in a nutshell suggestions for what order to
- 22:34book your Lightning Lanes and what order to go to the
- 22:38attractions early on in Disneyland parks.
- 22:42Let's hop over now to Disney World, which has a lot more
- 22:48logistics to talk about. So we'll we'll hop into that
- 22:51here now. All right, so we are going to
- 22:54start with the park that I feel like has had the biggest change
- 22:58for their early entry whole situation, and that is Magic
- 23:04Kingdom. So let's talk about Magic
- 23:06Kingdom at Disney World. They recently adjusted the way
- 23:10that they are doing their early entry.
- 23:13Now we don't know if this is permanent.
- 23:15We don't know if this is just for the season because we're in
- 23:19the midst of kind of spring break into summer season.
- 23:23We're not really sure. So at the time that I am
- 23:25recording this, this is what I know starting basically when the
- 23:31when Main Street opens, which is typically 75 minutes before
- 23:36posted park open time, you still scan in as a resort guest in the
- 23:42same space that you were kind of on the Tomorrowland side of the
- 23:46hub. But after that you can go get in
- 23:50line for whatever attraction it is that you are planning to ride
- 23:55first. So previously they they had two
- 23:58holding areas. You would scan in on that side
- 24:02of the hub and then they would hold you either at the
- 24:04Tomorrowland Bridge or the walkway between Tomorrowland
- 24:10Speedway and Cosmic Rays. Those were the two holding
- 24:15places that they used to use. That is no longer how they are
- 24:18doing rope drop at Magic Kingdom.
- 24:20You now have the ability to go to the attraction that you are
- 24:25planning to rope drop. So this kind of drastically
- 24:28changes the way that rope drop looks for early entry.
- 24:33We're talking about early entry because you don't necessarily
- 24:40if, if you're not there at that point in time, it may, it may
- 24:45affect those wait times for some of those big attractions that a
- 24:49lot of people like to utilize early entry for.
- 24:52So that being said, your group is going to have to decide just
- 24:57how early you think you are able to be at the parks.
- 25:01Because you've got to realize if the park open is posted at 9:00
- 25:05AM, that means that early entry for resort guests will be 830.
- 25:12But starting at 7:45, you can get in line for rides.
- 25:19So that means that you're going to want to be in the park at or
- 25:25at the gates, I should say at least 30 minutes prior to that
- 25:29happening. So basically there's not a
- 25:31second holding pattern that happens for those for the rope
- 25:35drop for early entry guests anymore.
- 25:39So keep in mind Tomorrowland and Fantasyland are still the
- 25:43sections that are open for early entry guests.
- 25:46Frontier and Adventureland. Frontierland and Adventureland
- 25:50do not open still until official park open which would be your
- 25:55non resort guest rope drop. So park open rope drop is still
- 26:00the Frontierland and Adventureland side.
- 26:04Another note that if you're thinking about early entry
- 26:07attractions, Tron, which is a big attraction at Magic Kingdom
- 26:13does not open for early entry. So you've got a lot of decisions
- 26:19to make it Magic Kingdom when it comes to your early entry
- 26:22strategy. The other thing to note is there
- 26:26are no more virtual cues being utilized in Magic Kingdom.
- 26:30So previously when we talked about this, there were virtual
- 26:33cues there. Tron had one, Tiana's Bayou
- 26:37Adventure had one. Those have now gone away.
- 26:40So everything is standby or lightning lanes of varying kinds
- 26:45at Magic Kingdom. So if you are using lightning
- 26:49lanes, let's talk about a a very brief strategy for lightning
- 26:56lanes. Remember that Lightning Lanes at
- 27:00Disney World are now booked ahead of time.
- 27:04If you are a resort guest, seven days ahead is of your check in
- 27:08day is when you can book. If you are a non resort guest,
- 27:12three days ahead of your first park day on your ticket is when
- 27:16you will be able to book. So the biggest key especially at
- 27:22Magic Kingdom for lightning lanes is you are going to be
- 27:26able to utilize these lightning lanes probably the most at Magic
- 27:30Kingdom of all of the parks. So you want to get your times
- 27:33that you pre book to be as early as possible.
- 27:37That being said, if you remember there are tears setups for the
- 27:40rides for your lightning lanes at Magic Kingdom.
- 27:43My suggestion for what I have seen with Lightning lanes at
- 27:47Magic Kingdom is for your tier one pre booked ride I would
- 27:52choose either Peter Pan or Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
- 27:56Those would be my 2 top choices for tier one.
- 28:00For Tier 2 my top choices would be Buzz Lightyear, Haunted
- 28:05Mansion, or Pirates. So you can book 1 tier one and
- 28:08two tier twos for your multi pass at Magic Kingdom, but those
- 28:13would be the ones that I would choose from.
- 28:16And that's going to depend greatly on who is travelling
- 28:19with you. You know what your interests are
- 28:23for your travel party, all those types of things.
- 28:26If you're looking at single pass options for lightning lanes,
- 28:29that would be 7 Dwarves, Martin Train, and Tron.
- 28:32So even though Tron is not open during early entry, another
- 28:36option you do have is that single pass.
- 28:39Again, depending on your budget and the wants and needs of your
- 28:42group. So let's talk about if you are
- 28:46utilizing early entry, where should you go?
- 28:50So on property early entry suggestions for where to head if
- 28:57you've got small kiddos that are not thrill seekers that just
- 29:03want to do all the dark rides and and the a lot of the stuff
- 29:06in Fantasyland. Again Fantasyland is super
- 29:09popular just like at Disneyland. At Magic Kingdom same thing,
- 29:12although most of the attractions for Fantasylands have lightning
- 29:18lanes at Magic Kingdom which is different than Disneyland but
- 29:22small children. For early entry, I would suggest
- 29:25Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh and Buzz Lightyear as some good
- 29:29options for your early entry time.
- 29:33And that may depend also on what you're doing with the thrill
- 29:36seekers in your group. So you may want to pick
- 29:38something that's kind of close by for the non thrill seekers to
- 29:41do while your thrill seekers do a big E ticket attraction.
- 29:45Now your thrill seekers, again, early entry, we're talking
- 29:49Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. You have kind of three options
- 29:56to start with. You can do Space Mountain.
- 29:59That is logistically probably your easiest option for rope
- 30:04drop for your thrill seekers for early entry.
- 30:08Now you can, if Tron is a big deal for you, you can go and
- 30:14queue up for Tron, keeping in mind that you are going to be
- 30:21waiting 75 minutes for that queue to open.
- 30:26Do I think that's the best use of your early entry time?
- 30:29No, but do I understand that there are people that will
- 30:33choose to do that? Yes.
- 30:36I would suggest figuring out your budget to get that single
- 30:39pass for Tron because that's going to be the easiest way for
- 30:43you to ride it without wasting an hour plus of your day at
- 30:46Magic Kingdom. The other option that you have
- 30:49would be to go to 7 Dwarfs. That is a very popular rope drop
- 30:53attraction for early entry, but it is definitely an option.
- 30:58Typically speaking, if you are not queued up early for seven
- 31:05dwarfs, you're still going to be waiting 45 minutes to an hour.
- 31:09So again, you just have to kind of decide about with 7 dwarfs,
- 31:13do you want to budget accordingly to be able to get
- 31:18that single pass for seven dwarfs or do you want to wait in
- 31:22line? Couple different options again,
- 31:25Tron Space Mountain 7 Dwarves Space Mountain would be what I
- 31:28personally would do because I would likely budget for Seven
- 31:32Dwarves and Tron If I want to ride them I would budget for
- 31:35that single pass. For those.
- 31:37After that, I would highly suggest heading over again.
- 31:41Now, this is a little tricky because Big Thunder Mountain is
- 31:44currently closed at Magic Kingdom at the moment that we
- 31:47are recording this and is set to be closed for the rest of of the
- 31:51year. But that being said, that would
- 31:54be my option for after the ones that I just talked about.
- 32:00So I would do something like Space Mountain, maybe hit one
- 32:04more ride on the way over and then hit Big Thunder Mountain
- 32:08and go from there. Without Big Thunder Mountain
- 32:11being open, you really just have to decide what makes the most
- 32:15sense kind of geographically and logistically for your group
- 32:21based on what your first rope drop early entry ride is.
- 32:26And I hope that makes sense. I know it's a little
- 32:28complicated, but that's just kind of the nature of the beast
- 32:31when it comes to early entry at Magic Kingdom if you're trying
- 32:35to get those big throw rides in. Now let's talk about if you are
- 32:39staying off property and you are utilizing rope drop at Magic
- 32:43Kingdom. So rope drop at Magic Kingdom is
- 32:46at park open and that is when you will have a standard rope
- 32:50drop over at the Frontierland and Adventureland side of the
- 32:53park. That is for any guest that does
- 32:57not have access to early entry. That is your official rope drop
- 33:00for the park open. If you have small children, you
- 33:04are off property and you are utilizing the official rope drop
- 33:09park open time. My suggestion to you would be
- 33:13Jungle Cruise first, then Pirates and then while you're
- 33:16over there I would do Alad Aladdin's Magic Carpet so you
- 33:20don't have to backtrack and do that later.
- 33:22So I would kind of hit that little pocket of rides and then
- 33:27go from there. If you have Thrill seekers and
- 33:30you are utilizing that rope drop time for official park open
- 33:35currently, I would go to Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
- 33:40If you are listening to this podcast in the future and Big
- 33:46Thunder Mountain has opened again, I would hit Big Thunder
- 33:48Mountain 1st and then go to Tiana's because Tiana's does
- 33:51tend to sleep in in the morning. So it's really tricky right now
- 33:57at Magic Kingdom that rope drop because you're better off doing
- 34:01something like Pirates Haunted Mansion, taking a look and see
- 34:06sometimes the line at Space Mountain will have come back
- 34:08down from the early entry time and you could maybe hit over
- 34:12there. So that ones a little trickier
- 34:14because it really kind of depends on the day and it
- 34:17depends on when Big Thunder Mountain reopens and when
- 34:21Tiana's decides to wake up for the morning.
- 34:25So again, Magic Kingdom is a little tricky.
- 34:28You just have to have that ABC plan to make sure that you know
- 34:32where you're going to pivot to if you end up needing to pivot
- 34:35from your initial thoughts on rope drop.
- 34:39So that is Magic Kingdom sort of the best way that I can describe
- 34:43it in a general sense. Let's talk about something much
- 34:46easier. Let's talk about Animal Kingdom.
- 34:50As far as Animal Kingdom goes, the only things that have really
- 34:53changed recently are the fact that Triceratops Spin has closed
- 34:59and It's Tough to be a Bug has closed.
- 35:01So they are down a few attractions over there right
- 35:04now, which makes it pretty easy to navigate and truly makes it a
- 35:09not a full day park. Unfortunately, when the new
- 35:12stuff over there opens, it's going to be amazing.
- 35:14They're going to have a ton of new things for everyone to enjoy
- 35:18and experience, but as of right now, we're down to attractions
- 35:22over there at Animal Kingdom. I do still suggest arriving to
- 35:27the park 30 minutes before park open.
- 35:30Logistically, this one is really easy to deal with.
- 35:32You go through security, you go through the gate they will hold,
- 35:38resort guests will go to the left around the what is that
- 35:43Oasis I think is what they call it.
- 35:45But that front little section where you kind of have to choose
- 35:48left or right. Resort guests will go to the
- 35:50left, non resort guests will go to the right to be queued until
- 35:55park open and rope drop. But I would still arrive at
- 35:59least 30 minutes to give yourself time to get scanned in.
- 36:03You could need longer more time if it's a super busy time of
- 36:08here. So keep that in mind.
- 36:10If you're using lightning lanes, there are no tears at this at
- 36:15this park. So for your lightning lanes, my
- 36:18suggestion for the three that I would book ahead of time would
- 36:22be Navi River, the Safari, and then Expedition Everest.
- 36:27So those will be the three if you're planning to use lightning
- 36:29lanes that I would book ahead of time.
- 36:31Flight of Passage, which is your other avatar ride over in
- 36:36Pandora. It does have a single pass.
- 36:39I do suggest it if you're able to budget because I think it
- 36:42just makes logistics a lot easier at this park.
- 36:45I would say if you are able to purchase the single pass for
- 36:51flight of passage, chances are really good that you don't need
- 36:54multi pass at this at this park, especially being down a few
- 36:58attractions. There's not a ton here that is
- 37:02hard to get to if you utilize early entry and if you're there
- 37:05at the park early. So let's talk about what pathway
- 37:10to take for Animal Kingdom. If you are utilizing early
- 37:15entry, you have kind of two options.
- 37:18If you have purchased your Flight of Passage single pass,
- 37:21you do not need to worry about rope dropping.
- 37:23Flight of Passage and then I would go to Navi River Journey
- 37:28and then the Safari. Now the Safari typically opens
- 37:31about 15 minutes after official park open time.
- 37:36So if you get on Navi River fairly quickly, you may still
- 37:39have to wait 20-30 minutes for that the Safari line to open.
- 37:46So keep that in mind. Take a look at your timing.
- 37:49But I do think that's the best use of your time.
- 37:51If you do not plan to purchase that Flight of Passage single
- 37:55pass, you definitely are going to need to rope drop Flight of
- 37:58Passage. You may still wait an hour or
- 38:02so, but that is your best bet for riding that particular
- 38:06attraction. After you have visited Pandora I
- 38:08would again go over to the Safari.
- 38:12If you are planning to rope drop flight of passage, I would not
- 38:15suggest also trying to do Navi River at the same time unless
- 38:19you are in and out of Flight of passage very very fast because
- 38:24the safari. Once you get about 3045 minutes
- 38:27into park open, your chances of seeing active animals on the
- 38:32safari starts to greatly decrease as the temperature
- 38:35increases. So I always suggest trying to
- 38:38get to the safari as early as you possibly can just for that
- 38:42alone. Your experiences will be better,
- 38:46generally speaking when you can get there early.
- 38:51So again, keep in mind that Safari typically doesn't open
- 38:54until about 15 minutes after park open.
- 38:57You can find that in your My Disney Experience app.
- 39:00The easiest way is to check the map feature, click on Animal
- 39:05Kingdom and then click the Safari to see.
- 39:08When you Scroll down it'll show you the hours for the day.
- 39:13So all that being said, then after you hit the safari, I
- 39:16would do, I would continue your way clockwise around the park
- 39:20and I would do Expedition Everest and then Dinosaur.
- 39:24If you're a water ride person, throw Cali river Rapids in
- 39:27there. But I would just kind of work
- 39:28your way clockwise starting in Pandora all the way around until
- 39:31you have finished Dinosaur. Now if you are off property and
- 39:36you are planning to utilize standard rope drop at Animal
- 39:40Kingdom, your best bet is going to be to head to the safari
- 39:44first. Like I said, it does typically
- 39:47open about 15 minutes after park open, but that means you're
- 39:50waiting 15 minutes and then you're walking straight on
- 39:53through that queue and getting on your safari truck to go take
- 39:58a look at the animals. For off property guests, it's a
- 40:01little trickier to navigate the Pandora section of the park
- 40:06because you really need to hit that safari first.
- 40:10So after you hit the safari, check the wait time for Navi
- 40:13River. If it's like 2025 or less, head
- 40:18over there and do that before going back over to Everest and
- 40:21then Dinosaur. But if not, you may just have to
- 40:24kind of. Keep an eye on the wait times
- 40:26for Navi River and see what it does throughout the day for
- 40:30flight of passage. May just have to kind of keep an
- 40:33eye on the wait times for Navi River and see what it does
- 40:36throughout the day for flight of Passage.
- 40:39If you are off property and you are not utilizing the single
- 40:42pass, your best bet is to get into that line like right at
- 40:47park close or again, just keep an eye on the wait times to see
- 40:52for that one. If you get anything under about
- 40:54an hour, it's a the time to go get in line, generally speaking
- 40:58for that. So that is your animal Kingdom
- 41:01plan for your early entry and rope drop at that park.
- 41:09Let's now to talk about Epcot. Epcot again, very similar to
- 41:16what we've heard previously. However, the big, big, big thing
- 41:21here is that there is no longer a virtual queue option for
- 41:25Cosmic Rewind. So that virtual queue went away
- 41:29the same time that the virtual queues over at Magic Kingdom
- 41:32went away. You no longer have the OP mind.
- 41:35So that virtual queue went away the same time that the virtual
- 41:38queues over at Magic Kingdom went away.
- 41:41You no longer have the the option to utilize that for
- 41:43Cosmic Rewind, so that will drastically change how you plan
- 41:48your early entry if you are a resort guest.
- 41:52All that being said, we'll get to that here in just a second.
- 41:55I would arrive to Epcot at least 30 minutes before park open.
- 42:00Do keep in mind that something unique to Epcot is there are two
- 42:04entry points to this park. The one is at the front by
- 42:07Spaceship Earth, the big golf ball and the other one is at to
- 42:12the International Gateway, which is between the UK and France
- 42:17pavilions of World Showcase. So two different entry points
- 42:22for your rope drop or early entry depending on what you're
- 42:26utilizing. Both of those are accessible to
- 42:30both resort guests and non resort guests.
- 42:33Although I will say your non resort guests are typically
- 42:37going to come in the front. It's a lot harder to get to
- 42:39International Gateway if you are not staying on property.
- 42:44The only exception to that would be like the Swan and Dolphin,
- 42:47but those would be considered on property in this situation.
- 42:50So typically off property, you're going to end up at that
- 42:53front entrance by Spaceship Earth.
- 42:55Again, no more virtual queue for Cosmic Rewind can drastically
- 42:59change your approach to rope drop for this.
- 43:02But before we get there, let's talk about Lightning Lanes just
- 43:05briefly. There are two tiers for
- 43:08Lightning Lanes at this park as well, so for tier one, you're
- 43:13really choosing between Frozen or Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.
- 43:19You're going to have to make a decision.
- 43:21I always suggest Remy. If you are a family that wants
- 43:25to do both, I always suggest booking Remy.
- 43:29It is a harder lightning lane to get, it sells out more quickly,
- 43:33and it is less likely to have times.
- 43:36Extra times pop up throughout the day as you're refreshing to
- 43:39try to modify, so I always suggest Remy.
- 43:42If your group doesn't want to ride Remy, then definitely book
- 43:45a frozen time for your tier one. For Tier 2, really any of those
- 43:50options are are pretty equally matched for the rest of the
- 43:54rides that you have as options for Tier 2.
- 43:57If it's me, I'm going to be choosing Figment, Nemo, and
- 44:00Spaceship Earth for my tier twos, but really any of those
- 44:04are fine options for your tier twos.
- 44:06Again, utilizing an early time as much as possible for one of
- 44:11those Tier 2 attractions is going to help increase your
- 44:14chances of getting additional Lightning Lanes throughout to
- 44:17the rest of your day at Epcot. Now, we talked about no more
- 44:21virtual queue for Cosmic Rewind. It does still have a single pass
- 44:25option. So if you're utilizing Lightning
- 44:27Lanes and you want to do a single pass option for Cosmic
- 44:29Rewind, I highly suggest you do. The single pass options are
- 44:33selling out very quickly, so you need to be ready for that on
- 44:37your seven day out. If you are an off property guest
- 44:42that's using Lightning Lanes, Guardians of the Galaxy is
- 44:45likely to sell out before your three day window.
- 44:49It doesn't make it completely impossible to find a time.
- 44:52You will have to be on your phone refreshing and hopefully
- 44:56get lucky for times to pop up for that one kind of day of.
- 45:01But chances are really good for my non resort guests trying to
- 45:05get a single pass for Guardians. Chances are very low
- 45:08unfortunately for that one. Now let's talk about early
- 45:13entry. If you are someone utilizing
- 45:16early entry and you have small children, you are going to want
- 45:21to hit either Remy or Frozen 1st and I would go to the opposite
- 45:27of whichever 1 you have a lightning lane for right?
- 45:30So if you booked a Remy lightning lane like I suggested,
- 45:33then you're going to rope drop frozen.
- 45:35If you booked a frozen lightning lane because you don't need to
- 45:39do Remy, well then you're in good shape.
- 45:41But I would do either Remy or frozen for your rope drop to
- 45:45start. And then from there, it really
- 45:49just depends. But I would head over to kind of
- 45:53the Seas in the land area from there.
- 45:55And I would hit things like Nemo, the Moana walkthrough,
- 46:00Figment, that side of the park. But that's where you're going to
- 46:04want to spend a lot of your times with time with your little
- 46:08littles. You can also hit living with the
- 46:10land while you're over there. There's lots of options and
- 46:13things for your your little ones to do over on that side.
- 46:17Now if you are utilizing early entry and you have thrill
- 46:21seekers, you can attempt to rope drop Cosmic Rewind.
- 46:29I know that it is right now the the most popular rope drop ride
- 46:35probably in any of the parks. So you just really have to to
- 46:40determine with Cosmic Rewind, am I buying a single pass?
- 46:44Am I going to try to rope drop it?
- 46:47Times for that one are still varying greatly.
- 46:53Typically at rope drop for that it gets about a two hour wait.
- 46:59We have seen a trend of kind of a little bit after park open, it
- 47:04dips down closer to maybe 45 to an hour, but that's about as low
- 47:10as you're going to find it. So some decisions are going to
- 47:14have to be made based on your budget and your wants and needs
- 47:18of your travel party. When it comes to Cosmic Rewind,
- 47:22if you are doing Cosmic Rewind over there on that side of the
- 47:26park and you want to do mission space, that's a great time to do
- 47:30mission space while you're over on that side of the park running
- 47:33during early entry. Now if you are off property,
- 47:38let's talk about rope drop and a a pathway for you for rope drop,
- 47:43for small kiddos. For rope drop, you may get lucky
- 47:49and still be able to hit frozen at a lower weight.
- 47:55It's not a guarantee. It really just depends on the
- 47:58day and what you are planning to do for the rest of your day.
- 48:03So if you've got small children, you may be able to hit frozen
- 48:07Remy is very unlikely that you're going to be able to do
- 48:11that at rope drop for off property guests.
- 48:14It's going to have an hour or more wait at that point.
- 48:18So I would again suggest going over to that world discovery
- 48:22section, hitting things like Nemo living with a land figment
- 48:26Moana, that whole section. Again, like I talked about for
- 48:29on property, really the same. A lot of those wait times in the
- 48:32morning are going to be are going to be fairly low and
- 48:35remain low. So you'll have it a good
- 48:37opportunity to get through some of those with your littles.
- 48:41If you are a thrill seeker, again, this one's really hard
- 48:45and you're off property and you are not able to utilize early
- 48:48entry. Cosmic Rewind is going to be off
- 48:50the table for your rope drop ride because it unless, because
- 48:55it typically has a very long line unless you get really
- 48:58lucky. And again, there's no way to
- 49:00know. It's really just going to depend
- 49:02on the day. That's why I talked about having
- 49:03a plan A, Plan B, Plan C So I would suggest for thrill seekers
- 49:07heading to Soren first and then you can crossover to do mission
- 49:12space and then Test track is another one to consider when it
- 49:17reopens, hopefully later this year.
- 49:20That's another one to consider for your thrill seekers because
- 49:24that typically is not going to get as bad of a wait during your
- 49:31early entry or during early entry.
- 49:33So then trickle into having a big weight during your rope drop
- 49:36time. So that's kind of the idea for
- 49:41Epcot. It's a little tricky right now
- 49:44with Cosmic Rewind and without having test track open.
- 49:49So we'll have to do an update on that one once we see what a test
- 49:52track does to to rope drop there.
- 49:55So that'll being said, let's talk about Hollywood Studios,
- 50:00which is arguably the hardest rope drop park, I think out of
- 50:06all of the ones that we've talked about South lately,
- 50:11Hollywood Studios has been going back and forth for their rope
- 50:15drop early entry setup. Typically it was always that
- 50:20they held you at the front gate and then they had two separate
- 50:24areas, one for early entry guests to check in and one for
- 50:29off property guests to check in. They have experimented with more
- 50:36of a system like what we were talking about with Magic Kingdom
- 50:39earlier where they will let everybody in and then you can
- 50:43queue up for specific rides and specific areas and tap in to
- 50:48show that you are eligible for early entry.
- 50:51So right now, last I knew they had gone back to holding you at
- 50:59the front gate, but it's gone back and forth a couple times.
- 51:03So it may be a surprise when you get to the front gate based on
- 51:08the crowds and what they're planning to do and what they
- 51:11think the the what they're planning for, for crowd levels
- 51:14that day. So just be be ready for either
- 51:19option, which is why I suggest arriving at least an hour before
- 51:24the park opens for Hollywood Studios.
- 51:26That also being said, if they are holding people at the front
- 51:30and it starts to get too crowded, they will open early
- 51:33entry early, earlier than what is being posted for resort
- 51:39guests. So I've seen it be 15 minutes
- 51:41earlier, I've seen it be a whole half hour earlier than what was
- 51:44posted. So you definitely want to be
- 51:46there early to make the most of that time.
- 51:51There are so many E ticket and throw rides here.
- 51:54Rope drop is really, really dependent on what your group
- 51:58wants to do and what rides they want to hit.
- 52:02That being said, we talked a little bit about this with like
- 52:05Radiator Springs Racers at Disney, at Disney California
- 52:09Adventure. I do not suggest rope dropping
- 52:12Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios because it is
- 52:15very slow to wake up in the morning and you all have heard
- 52:18me say that before. I will continue to say it.
- 52:20It doesn't like to wake up on time, it doesn't like to open on
- 52:24time. It do not suggest rope dropping
- 52:26it. Your best bet compromise of the
- 52:29resistance. Now it does have a single pass,
- 52:32but your best bet is to check for when it goes down and try to
- 52:36catch it when it comes right back up so you can hop in line
- 52:39and have a shorter line. If I'm being completely honest
- 52:41with you, that may or may not work with your family vacation.
- 52:44So decisions will have to be made about that.
- 52:48But let's talk about if you are using Lightning lanes.
- 52:51There are two tiers for lightning lanes at Hollywood
- 52:54Studios. Tier one.
- 52:56I'm always going to suggest booking Slinky Dog for your tier
- 53:00one. I know there are other fun
- 53:02attractions in tier one. I always suggest Slinky dog.
- 53:05It's the hardest 1 to get. It sells out the fastest.
- 53:08It is the least likely to have additional times pop up
- 53:11throughout the day. Book Slinky dog for your tier
- 53:14one. For Tier 2 there are a couple
- 53:17different options. Summer shows.
- 53:19I don't suggest doing shows for your Tier 2 for pre booking.
- 53:24You might utilize those shows later in the day after you've
- 53:27done the rides. That's perfectly fine.
- 53:30But I do not suggest doing the shows for your pre booking for
- 53:35lightning rides. That's perfectly fine.
- 53:37But I do not suggest doing the shows for your free booking for
- 53:42Lightning Lanes. I suggest to Toy Story Mania and
- 53:46Tower of Terror as your options for that.
- 53:49So those would be your Tier 2 ones that I was that I
- 53:52personally would suggest. Now that being said, you're
- 53:55going to have to look at your group.
- 53:56You're going to have to look at what rides everybody wants to do
- 54:00to make it make sense for your travel party for that.
- 54:04Again, Rise of the Resistance has that single pass option.
- 54:07If your budget allows for that, they do suggest it because that
- 54:11ride is so finicky. You never know when it's going
- 54:14to be up, when it's going to be down.
- 54:16So having a single pass for that is really the easiest way to get
- 54:20on that ride if you are able to budget accordingly for that.
- 54:26Rope drop here for early entry really highly depends on what
- 54:31your group wants to do and whether or not you're using
- 54:34lightning lanes. So I'm going to have a couple
- 54:36more categories for this one because of that because it
- 54:41really just depends on your situation going into the park.
- 54:45So if you are on property and you are using lightning lanes,
- 54:53which is what I suggested earlier to do Slinky Dog, Toy
- 54:57Story Mania, and Tower of Terror as your 3 lightning lanes.
- 55:00So if you are on property using lightning lanes and you have
- 55:04small children during early entry, I suggest going to
- 55:09Runaway Railway, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania.
- 55:13Those are going to be your three best options for small kiddos.
- 55:18I would suggest the problem is with those 3 during early entry.
- 55:24Toy Story Mania tends to get a longer line because people pivot
- 55:27away from Slinky Dog and go there.
- 55:29So I would almost go there first and then maybe come back to
- 55:33Runaway Railway and then go to Aliens Swirling Saucers.
- 55:36It's a little bit of backtracking, but Toy Story Land
- 55:39and the Chinese Theater for Runaway Railways are not too far
- 55:43away. Hollywood Studios is just
- 55:45terrible for for Pathways and navigating anyway, so you're
- 55:50going to end up backtracking. But my suggestion would be maybe
- 55:53to do them in those orders Toy Story Mania first so you can
- 55:56skip some of those pivoting crowds and then come back to do
- 56:00Runaway Railway and then Alien Swirling Saucers after that.
- 56:04Now, if you are on property using Lightning Lanes and you
- 56:07have thrill seekers, remember we booked Slinky Dog, Tower of
- 56:12Terror and Toy Story Mania. You can do rock and roller
- 56:17Coaster as a rope drop option for early entry.
- 56:21You might as well do Tower of Terror while you're down there
- 56:23and get a second ride on that. And then after that, I would
- 56:26head probably back to the Star Wars area and do something like
- 56:29Smugglers Run to kind of round out your early entry time.
- 56:35The thing about Hollywood studios that's so tricky is
- 56:38there's not as many rides. There's a lot of characters and
- 56:44a lot of shows and not a ton of rides for littles.
- 56:49A lot of them have a height requirement.
- 56:52A lot of them are more thrill rides.
- 56:54So you just really have to keep that.
- 56:57Keep that in mind. Now, if you are on property and
- 57:01you are not doing Lightning Lanes, I would do the same thing
- 57:06that I talked about earlier for small children.
- 57:08I would hit Toy Story Mania, Runaway Railway, Alien Swirling
- 57:12Saucers for your littles. If you are a thrill seeker and
- 57:16you are not using lightning lanes and you were staying on
- 57:18property, you're going to have to rope drop Slinky Dog and
- 57:21you're going to have to be line it there and get it there very
- 57:25promptly when the early entry time starts.
- 57:29After that, unfortunately, I would suggest kind of
- 57:32backtracking all the way back towards the front of the park to
- 57:35go down and hit Rock and Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror
- 57:39after that. So those would be my thrill
- 57:42seeker options after you hit tower and Rock and then you can
- 57:46head over to Star Wars and kind of knock some of those rides out
- 57:49as well. Chances are good that if you've
- 57:51got thrill seekers, they can utilize some single rider lines
- 57:54for things like Smugglers Run or Rise of the Resistance if
- 57:58they've done it before, which I hadn't mentioned earlier.
- 58:03If you're someone who has done Rise of the Resistance before,
- 58:05they do have a really great single rider option.
- 58:07I do not suggest single rider for your first time because you
- 58:10will miss out on some of the storytelling elements in the pre
- 58:13shows, but I do suggest that for people who have been on it
- 58:17before Now if you are off property and you are either
- 58:26using lightning lanes or not using lightning lanes, same
- 58:29suggestion for your small kiddos.
- 58:31Toy Story Mania, runaway railway aliens, swirling saucers.
- 58:36For thrill seekers that are off property.
- 58:39I I would suggest doing rock and roller coaster in Tower of
- 58:43Terror first because those are still even during early entry
- 58:47those still don't tend to get the crazy wait times.
- 58:51You're still going to be able to find those probably at like a 20
- 58:54maybe 30 minute wait which is not terrible.
- 58:57And then after that, head over to do something like Smugglers
- 58:59Run and check on the status of Rise of the Resistance for the
- 59:03day. So lots of different options at
- 59:07Hollywood Studios. It's really hard.
- 59:10It's a really hard park to navigate because it really
- 59:13depends on your travel party, what attractions you want to do.
- 59:17Are you using lightning lanes? Are you getting the single pass
- 59:19for Rise of the Resistance? There's so many variables that
- 59:22come into it that that makes it makes that park really, really,
- 59:26really hard to to navigate, unfortunately.
- 59:30So all of that being said, that is kind of your Fast and furious
- 59:35updated guide to early entry and rope drop.
- 59:39I hope that all of that can be helpful to you.
- 59:43If you are planning an upcoming trip to either Disneyland or
- 59:45Disney World, Hopefully we touched on a couple things that
- 59:49can help guide you as you are making your plans.
- 59:52I do highly suggest at least planning out your morning for
- 59:55these parks. You know, planning out the the
- 59:59list of attractions. Things that are your priority
- 1:00:02and working in what we talked about during this episode to
- 1:00:06help you kind of figure out what order to do things in and what
- 1:00:09lands to go to 1st and kind of what will be leftover after your
- 1:00:14early entry time. That will hopefully help
- 1:00:17formulate those itineraries for you.
- 1:00:19If you ever need help with a park itinerary for your group,
- 1:00:25please send us an e-mail or reach out to us on social media.
- 1:00:29I love helping people do that. It's so fun for me to problem
- 1:00:33solve and figure out what the best course of action for you or
- 1:00:37your group. Maybe you can always reach out
- 1:00:40via e-mail to Mom St. usa@gmail.com.
- 1:00:45You can find us on tons of social media.
- 1:00:48We are on Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook all at Mom
- 1:00:53St. USA and as always, you can reach
- 1:00:55out on our good friend Kirk at Walrus Carp, his Discord server.
- 1:01:01We do have a mom St. channel on there that you are always
- 1:01:04welcome to ask questions or give input on there as well.
- 1:01:09We love to hear from you, especially with some of this
- 1:01:11Lightning lane stuff like I mentioned here in the next month
- 1:01:14or so, I am going to be doing another Lightning Lane overview
- 1:01:18Q&A kind of set up. So if you've got questions about
- 1:01:22lightning Lanes or something that I said about lightning
- 1:01:25Lanes in this episode or it doesn't make sense, please send
- 1:01:29me a message so that way I can make sure in that episode I
- 1:01:34cover it more in depthly and go over it.
- 1:01:37Lightning lanes are so tricky and they're so dependent on your
- 1:01:40travel party that it's really hard to kind of give a general
- 1:01:44overview. But I do the best I can to make
- 1:01:46it make sense. And in that episode coming up,
- 1:01:50we will go through kind of step by step what you need to do for
- 1:01:54Lightning Lanes when it comes to primarily Disney World, because
- 1:01:58Disneyland has been the same system for the last several
- 1:02:02years. Disney World is the one that
- 1:02:04keeps us on our toes and keeps changing.
- 1:02:06So that is coming up in the future.
- 1:02:10Now, next episode that we have for Mom St.
- 1:02:13USA, you're stuck with me again. Like I mentioned, our hub
- 1:02:18friends are currently all traveling and busy with work
- 1:02:22trips and vacation trips. So I'm holding down the Mom St.
- 1:02:28USA Fort again for another episode.
- 1:02:31Next. The next episode we're going to
- 1:02:33be talking about something totally random and fun, but I'm
- 1:02:37excited and we're going to be talking about speaking the
- 1:02:39Disney park language. So talking about abbreviations
- 1:02:43and different terminology, kind of like we talked about early
- 1:02:46entry and rope drop today. We'll include those in our next
- 1:02:49episode, I'm sure. But we'll be talking all about
- 1:02:52speaking the Disney parks language and what terms do you
- 1:02:55need to know when you are planning and when you go to the
- 1:02:59parks. So if you've got input on that,
- 1:03:01I was, I'd love to hear it on our Discord channel.
- 1:03:04If you've got some fun things to include in there, please post
- 1:03:08that there. So that way I can be I can be on
- 1:03:11the lookout for it and I can include it in our next episode.
- 1:03:15Thank you guys all so much for your support and for listening.
- 1:03:18And I will catch you guys on the next episode of Mob St.
- 1:03:21USA. Bye everyone.
