  [SPEAKER_00]: Cameron Wolf of NFL Network reporting that Travis Hunter is going to be used as a full-time cornerback by the Jaguar's and a part-time wide receiver.

  [SPEAKER_00]: the projection of that, but Cameron Wolfe who does a great job covering the NFL officially reporting that, I think is just another.

  [SPEAKER_00]: step in that direction where Travis Hunter is really going to be a full-time corner, which I think is going to be great for the Jaguars defense, great for Travis Hunter, and then still having him as a part-time player on offense can be great too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you look at the Jaguars receivers between obviously Jacobi Myers, Parker Washington, Brian Thomas Jr, Brent and Strange at Titan, and

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, obviously the jackwares needed more help at corner back when you have Greg Newsom and Buster Brown, but leaving and even when they were both there, there was still some Improvement, I think that could be had in the secondary.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Travis Hunter full-time corner, but right now We're gonna be talking more about the offensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: With the Jaguar specifically, I mean, every team's offensive line, it's critical.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like offensive line play is one of the most overlooked things by fans in my opinion, but one of the most important things as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And when you're not here in the offensive line, being talked about by fans, that's usually a good thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you are here and it being talked about that's usually because they're not doing enough.

  [SPEAKER_00]: From an analyst perspective, I think the Jack Wars Offensive Line is clearly good enough, like it's a good enough unit to win most games.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's good enough to hold up against most pass rushes in the NFL.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of my thought process here today, because it just doesn't get talked about as much right now because the Jaguars do have all five of their starting offensive linemen returning, and they also have multiple, I mean, four key backups also slated to return.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they have their nine deep at offensive linemen right now, at least when you talk about,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Starting left tackle Colman Lannon, who signed a three-year deal with the Jaguars during the season this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Starting left guard as a Cleveland is going into the final year of his contract with the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Robert Hainesy going to the second year of a three-year deal with the Jaguars at Center.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Patrick McCurray going into the second year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: of a three year deal with the Jaguars at right guard.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Anton Harrison going into his fourth year in the league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguars will have the opportunity to pick up his fifth year option and have him under contracts through 20 27.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Walker Little going into the second year of a contract signed with the Jaguars during the 20 24 season

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, agreed upon and executed by the former regime Trambalkian company.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have two second-year players, you know, Wyatt Milum and Jonah Monheim, going into their second years as draft picks by this regime by James Gladstone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you've got a lot of depth experience at this offensive line spot for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because Colvin Lannon, starting with left tackle the most important spot, I think, argue, I mean, you can argue anything, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think left tackle just is the most important spot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lannon again signed a contract with the Jack Wars during the year this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Came into the year, wasn't even gonna start.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he started the year injured with an injury and got past that and was able to,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Fill in admirably, when injury struck at guard and then left tackle and he took that left tackle job and he ran with it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Walker Little did not have a shot to get back on the field after Colvin and Lannon started playing or upset left tackle and he did a great job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Colvin Lannon's 28 years old, let's see, is that a official birthday?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think when I look at over the cap, sometimes I think they project like what will his,

  [SPEAKER_00]: He'll turn 28 in April.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So this is going to be his age 28 season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, the Jags signed him to a three year deal during the year this year with, it's three years, it's, what do we got here?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Our excuse me, 5.2 million against the cap in 2029 after the contract is over.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But in 2027, so for 2026, he's going to be the Jaguar starting left tackle, bottom line, no question about it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: For 2027, the Jaguars will have $11.35 million in dead money in his contract, but $7.85 million in cap savings.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars could legitimately, if they feel that they can upgrade the left tackle position,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think Colvin Lannon showed that he is a reliable, steady, a guy who can do a really good job in the run game, who can be very effective in efficient and past protection, but he just does not have the same skill set as an upper echelon superstar left tackle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he did, the Jaguars would have had to sign him to a bigger deal than they did.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the way Colvane Landon played, once he got the opportunity to play left tackle for the Jaguars, was more than admirable.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Beyond 2026, don't know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Do I feel like you have a pro bowl caliber player?

  [SPEAKER_00]: No, but do I feel like you have an above average starting left tackle in the NFL?

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguar is fine to player, they think can do a better job heading into 2027.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Colvin Lannon's career are key will understand that like, if he gets beat out by somebody who's just more talented, whatever it may be, he can again be like your six men.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Colvin Lannon, beyond 2027, like if he locks it down for 2026 and 2027,

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have $2.4 million in dead money in 2028 and $17.8 million in cap savings in 2028.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So another good football player, Robert Hainesy, Robert Hainesy signed a two year deal prior to the 2025 season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he is somebody who is critical just to the development and stability of this offense, having experience in this offense, being a leader, being a smart football player, all those things for the Jack Wars in 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It would not be shocking if some time during this contract, gentlemen, on time overtakes Robert Hainesy at center.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There could be somebody else that's not in the building right now that could overtake Robert Hainesy at center in my opinion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Every time I've seen gentlemen, I'm playful ball in the NFL, he's looked like a starting center.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's my most likely projection that gentlemen, on time, will be the starting center in 2027.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's like in a above average starting center.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a pretty middle of the pack starting center, but he is smart.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars this year, dead money, six point nine million dollars and cap savings by moving on from him would be

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's worth it to move on from Robert Hainesy by any stretch of the imagination this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars basically just they don't have any way of making it make sense to move on from him this year and I don't think that they should move on from him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They can try to bring in like a day two, they don't have any day one picks, but like a day two offensive lineman, that can replace Chuma, Doga who can play tackle or guard, who,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the key long term is hitting on an offensive lineman in this draft at least one, developing Jonah Monheim into a starter, developing why it might lead to a starter, continuing the growth for Anton Harrison, who's coming off of a very good year,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully, COVID and land and sustaining this level of play that we saw in 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's where you feel good, but overall, the jag wars are in a spot where there's just not going to be a lot of change in the starting line up in 2026 compared to what you had in 2025 at the end there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the long-term health and the overall health of the offensive line is in a good place, but is it good enough to help you win a Super Bowl?

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's good enough to pass protecting against almost every team in the NFL.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would have loved to have seen the Jaguars have the opportunity to try to pass protect against the Seahawks in a big game, but they did it against a lot of good teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Broncos being example number one, they did enough for Trevor Lawrence to have an incredibly effective game in Denver, and I think that shows you pretty much enough to feel good about that past pro.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It needs to improve.

  [SPEAKER_00]: How does that happen when you have the same group?

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar starting offence of line, there was a lot of not big injuries, but there was injuries that made guys miss a game here, a couple of games there, and you look up in all of a sudden, the starting offence of line just did not play a ton of games together as a full group, but they have continuity and they have continuity 9 deep heading into 2026 and continuity can do a lot for an offensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Gladstone talked about it at the season-ending press conference.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're excited to have all their guys slated to be back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean that Chima Doge is a lock or if they actually get a contract or a trade offer for Walker Little that they won't accept it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they will get a trade offer for Walker Little, but if they did get one that they thought made sense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But they're going to have their starting five back, and they're going to have their two top draft pick offensive linemen back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they're, you know, at least 70 of continuity in 26, which continuity, there's always that argument that that makes a huge difference.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The level of starting play, like talent, also is a key factor.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you've got one Pro Bowl caliber guy, two above average guys, and two average guys in my opinion, and you're starting lineup.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I think that the Jaguar should push in the draft to continue to upgrade that offensive line for the long term,

  [SPEAKER_00]: maybe you end up finding a guy who actually has the ability to push in 2026 for a starting job and maybe why at my loom has that ceiling that that maybe a McCary doesn't have or maybe Jonah Monheim has that ceiling that that Haynesie doesn't have.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you're going to see a lot of changes in the starting line up this year, but they definitely need to continue to build that infrastructure long term.
