- 1:14Speaker 2: It really is. How's it going? Everybody good?
- 1:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:18Speaker 2: I'm checking in safe from the earthquake? Yeah, dude, that's crazy.
- 1:22Speaker 2: We Deva and I were sitting here in the studio
- 1:25Speaker 2: as we do every single day, kind of chatting it
- 1:27Speaker 2: up a little bit, figuring out what she's going to
- 1:28Speaker 2: do for news so it doesn't cross pollin, eate with
- 1:30Speaker 2: my topic list, and Deveror goes, hey, do you hear that?
- 1:35Speaker 2: And oddly enough, in our building we've been having some
- 1:37Speaker 2: air conditioning issues which we've talked about occasionally.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Said do you feel that? Y?
- 1:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:41Speaker 2: And what I thought she meant was is the AC
- 1:44Speaker 2: was on because it has been a coin flip this
- 1:46Speaker 2: week or this past week that when we come in
- 1:49Speaker 2: you know if you see this door open, we know
- 1:50Speaker 2: the AC is not working in our room. It give
- 1:52Speaker 2: me a little stuffy and then it'll kind of come
- 1:54Speaker 2: on during the day or whatever. And she's like, no,
- 1:56Speaker 2: it's not the AC. Do you feel that? And now
- 1:59Speaker 2: I had to stop for second, and then I felt
- 2:01Speaker 2: what she was talking about. And the damn building was moving,
- 2:05Speaker 2: moving like wasn't joking. It was shaking the TV behind me.
- 2:07Speaker 6: We literally watched your TV, which for folks who do
- 2:11Speaker 6: not know, that damn thing is hanging so precariously.
- 2:16Speaker 5: It's the one thing that we're all don't don't, don't
- 2:18Speaker 5: touch it.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It's like a seven foot TV on a on a
- 2:23Speaker 2: bracket that's supposed to hold like a cell phone. And
- 2:25Speaker 2: we watched five times a week.
- 2:27Speaker 7: Yeah, this gorilla comes in, grabs it with both hands
- 2:32Speaker 7: and just starts trying to pull it off the wall.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Exactly. It would do that anyway.
- 2:36Speaker 6: Well, today we watched it sway back and forth, crazy,
- 2:39Speaker 6: it was sitting And then.
- 2:41Speaker 5: We went and talked to sea Lane. Sealane was what
- 2:43Speaker 5: what was that?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and then I was just back in the sales.
- 2:45Speaker 7: Seelane was just so pleased that there was another human
- 2:48Speaker 7: who could verify it. He didn't imagine it. Whenever Jack's office.
- 2:52Speaker 7: He's back there in the by the sales pit, and
- 2:54Speaker 7: I would be. I was talking to Jack about it,
- 2:55Speaker 7: and Jack said he didn't feel it. But man, man,
- 2:57Speaker 7: the that's the first time every sales rep looked down
- 3:00Speaker 7: and said, hey, I'm pay attention, Like, yeah, we felt it.
- 3:02Speaker 2: We felt that. We felt that. Everybody felt it. Ye,
- 3:04Speaker 2: really everyone except Jazz six point five man, our sales manager.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You know why because we're working six point five on
- 3:10Speaker 2: the Richter scale just outside of Cuba, off the coast
- 3:13Speaker 2: of Cuba. Felt here for what are we like fifteen seconds,
- 3:16Speaker 2: twenty thirty seconds something like that.
- 3:17Speaker 6: That's about it. Yeah, just you know, but I did,
- 3:20Speaker 6: you know, grab my cell phone. I was about to
- 3:22Speaker 6: grab my car keys because yeah, I mean, I don't know.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Is it a sinkhole underneath?
- 3:26Speaker 8: Were going? I was going.
- 3:29Speaker 2: The building not shaking. That's where I'm going, anywhere where
- 3:32Speaker 2: the collapse cannot happen.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Jack.
- 3:34Speaker 7: Yeah, and thanks to evil, I with zero evidence, just saying, oh,
- 3:38Speaker 7: must be a sink called you guys should.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Get out of the building. All I know is once
- 3:43Speaker 2: I started waiting to start some panic there.
- 3:45Speaker 6: Once I started feeling something that had no explanation. Right,
- 3:49Speaker 6: it's not stormy. There isn't any going on.
- 3:51Speaker 2: The first thing it is we got the window se
- 3:53Speaker 2: if the wind was going. We didn't feel anything in
- 3:55Speaker 2: this damn building and where we felt that? And we're
- 3:57Speaker 2: on the fourth floor and something like, I guess ceiling
- 4:02Speaker 2: was saying Shawn didn't feel it at his house, right,
- 4:04Speaker 2: but it was like his house is like I mean,
- 4:05Speaker 2: I think it's two stories. But even then, I mean,
- 4:07Speaker 2: you're the building of the four and four, you'd feel
- 4:09Speaker 2: it the most type think, right, I would think, so yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 2: higher up, yeah, yeah, higher up, and the more you'd shake,
- 4:14Speaker 2: And we definitely felt and moving back and forth. I
- 4:16Speaker 2: gotta tell you, I got a little sketched out.
- 4:18Speaker 5: I had my hand on my keys, but I left
- 4:20Speaker 5: him in my perch.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Well, the reason why you get sketched up? What year
- 4:23Speaker 2: was this building built? It had to have been what
- 4:25Speaker 2: the early eighties? I think so, well, guess what Florida
- 4:27Speaker 2: buildings aren't built for earthquake because we don't ever have.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Them, especially when you consider that the bottom part of
- 4:33Speaker 6: this building used to be a bank drive through. Yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 6: so it's not a solid structure all the way around.
- 4:38Speaker 6: In fact, quite a few of our sales offices are
- 4:41Speaker 6: over that what used to be a drive through.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Crazy. You know. The thing is that we have the
- 4:45Speaker 2: biggest not want to be there during an earthquake. We
- 4:47Speaker 2: have a big you're right over the drive through right there. Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 2: we have a biggest generator out there. And I thought
- 4:51Speaker 2: they fired the generator up and we're doing a test
- 4:53Speaker 2: or something, and that's what we was shaking the building.
- 4:55Speaker 2: But that was no. Definitely a damn dude, that's crazy
- 4:58Speaker 2: an earthquake.
- 4:59Speaker 6: Lived in Cali, Fournia, and but it's living in Florida
- 5:02Speaker 6: to experience a tremor.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah, if you had a firepole that went to the
- 5:06Speaker 2: ground floor, you'd end up in the drive through. Oh yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 2: oh yeah, that's crazy because let's put in the firepole.
- 5:12Speaker 5: I like that idea, I do. I like that idea.
- 5:15Speaker 2: More fun to leave work exactly.
- 5:17Speaker 5: It'd be fun watching Jimmy try to get down that
- 5:20Speaker 5: thing back back.
- 5:21Speaker 2: The only time I ever felt anything like that, I
- 5:23Speaker 2: was in California in five like or no, not five,
- 5:27Speaker 2: whenever that that earthquake hit out there. We went on
- 5:29Speaker 2: a napa's trip out there. And earthquake had torn downtown
- 5:33Speaker 2: Napaup pretty good. And I felt an after and after
- 5:37Speaker 2: what's after sunk And that's kind of what it felt like.
- 5:39Speaker 2: The one I felt was a little bit more pronounced
- 5:41Speaker 2: than that, and it felt a lot like that.
- 5:43Speaker 6: See now, of all natural disasters, earthquakes freaked me out
- 5:47Speaker 6: the most. Really, tornadoes get me man, well, earthquakes because
- 5:50Speaker 6: everything is shaking, work, where do you go the ground?
- 5:53Speaker 7: That's something you count on not moving perfect, right, It's
- 5:57Speaker 7: always the stability, yes, and that you know when it
- 6:02Speaker 7: changes that reality for you.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a weird thing to accept for me though.
- 6:08Speaker 2: The tornado thing is like, you never know what's going
- 6:10Speaker 2: to hit. You know, it could tear the building apart.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You're in. With earthquakes, you run outside, just lay on
- 6:15Speaker 2: flat ass ground. We're nothing in following you. Theoretically you're safe.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Hurricanes you can prepare for.
- 6:20Speaker 7: You kind of have an idea on the path and
- 6:22Speaker 7: you know what to do, even though I think the
- 6:24Speaker 7: biggest mistakes are the people who kind of ignore the warnings. Right,
- 6:29Speaker 7: But but again, yeah, tornadoes and flooding, yes, yeah, yeah, flooding.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Flooding is another one. Oh yeah, flooding.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Gnarly sartars four seven nine six one four one text
- 6:39Speaker 2: us at seven seven zero three one. If you did
- 6:41Speaker 2: feel it out there, you can certainly text us again
- 6:43Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one. Tell us where you were
- 6:45Speaker 2: when you felt it. I'm gonna check my ring doorbell
- 6:47Speaker 2: camera and see if the little rumble.
- 6:53Speaker 8: Yes.
- 6:53Speaker 6: We also wanted to mention that we do know that
- 6:55Speaker 6: this this is tragic, the seven point eight magnitude earthquake
- 6:58Speaker 6: that just hit the Philippines.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Oh yeah, we're over thirty people were killed.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, there's supposed to be a is it their
- 7:03Speaker 2: tsunami warning from that one as well?
- 7:05Speaker 8: That I do not know.
- 7:06Speaker 6: Yeah, but I do have an interesting story coming up
- 7:09Speaker 6: in JCS news about tsunamis in Florida.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Oh really yeah yeah, but we'll talk about that then.
- 7:15Speaker 9: Sure.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Thing. And then we went to the Monsters thing on
- 7:18Speaker 2: Friday night. Yes, yeah, what a good time. Monsters at
- 7:22Speaker 2: night is what they call it. Yep. I want to
- 7:23Speaker 2: make sure to get it right there. And what an
- 7:25Speaker 2: incredible setup. First things. First, you pull up to the
- 7:27Speaker 2: event there and they have the outside area has a
- 7:30Speaker 2: patio where beer garden was set up.
- 7:32Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Ryan Holmes's MoMA that they're selling kettle corn and stuff,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and people were kind of milling about having a good time.
- 7:37Speaker 2: They had a pet skunks and stuff out there. You
- 7:39Speaker 2: can pet of skunk. Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 7: There was a gator just called Moways set up as well,
- 7:43Speaker 7: and they had a bar out there.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Yeah that's Christian Beerford with the Care Foundation.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right. Yeah, Yeah, it's funny. I did
- 7:49Speaker 2: I get a chance because she was mobbed by the way,
- 7:51Speaker 2: Thank goodness. It's so funny because right when I walked up,
- 7:54Speaker 2: I mean I literally walked up and walk up to
- 7:56Speaker 2: the soul area. The second thing said to me was, hey, Jimmy,
- 7:59Speaker 2: glad you made get The second thing said, hey, over there,
- 8:02Speaker 2: you can pet a skunk, swear about life. The second
- 8:06Speaker 2: thing said to me this event was you could pet
- 8:07Speaker 2: a skunk. But yeah, the stage was amazing. I was
- 8:10Speaker 2: listening to the show this morning. Ryan Holmes is right,
- 8:12Speaker 2: Russ set that stage up. Looked amazing, total giant event.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Feel really fun.
- 8:18Speaker 6: You guys did a great job and it was so
- 8:20Speaker 6: cool seeing all of the phones go up in the
- 8:23Speaker 6: air when it was you know, you Russ and Bow
- 8:26Speaker 6: standing up on the stage, you know, and Russ talking
- 8:28Speaker 6: about how kick things off thirty five years ago and
- 8:31Speaker 6: here we are still going strong. It was cool to
- 8:33Speaker 6: see all the people taking photos.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean an amazing crowd. Everybody was super cool.
- 8:37Speaker 2: A lot of fans from the shows for many, many years.
- 8:40Speaker 2: A lot of people I haven't seen a long time
- 8:41Speaker 2: that I worked with with the monsters like Jeff Howe
- 8:43Speaker 2: and those guys. I haven't seen Dale Torberg in many years.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So very cool.
- 8:47Speaker 6: Yes, what I gave out lots of hugs, did you really?
- 8:50Speaker 6: And nobody complained? In fact, I bet they did.
- 8:53Speaker 12: More.
- 8:54Speaker 6: People were like, I stick out my hand, uh huh,
- 8:58Speaker 6: and then they looked disappointed.
- 8:59Speaker 7: Yeah, I hugged one person. Jimmy was making fun of
- 9:05Speaker 7: me for not hugging people, of course it was. It
- 9:09Speaker 7: was Ray Tranley after he bought me a drinks. All
- 9:13Speaker 7: right there, that's wild.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It's so funny. I've never seen him in street clothes.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I think I've seen him one time at street clothes.
- 9:19Speaker 2: It was some other party, some othersation event, and I
- 9:21Speaker 2: didn't even recognize him. I look over there and he's
- 9:23Speaker 2: all suited out, and I'm like, what are you doing here?
- 9:25Speaker 2: Like in a suit he goes. I had to leave.
- 9:27Speaker 5: I probably came right from the office.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. It was cool to see a bunch
- 9:31Speaker 2: of old faces man from the Monster years. Those guys
- 9:34Speaker 2: have so much penetration when it comes to their audience.
- 9:36Speaker 2: A lot of those people have been around for a
- 9:37Speaker 2: long time and it was cool to see some faces
- 9:39Speaker 2: I haven't seen it in a whiles. A lot of
- 9:41Speaker 2: good times man, and a big big thanks for us
- 9:43Speaker 2: for the invite to come out and hang out for
- 9:45Speaker 2: a little bit. And it was a lot of fun.
- 9:47Speaker 2: It was a lot of fun. I mean everybody was
- 9:48Speaker 2: just having a blast. That little band they had, that
- 9:51Speaker 2: sad bad Sandy. I think they were great man. And
- 9:56Speaker 2: that that country guy, the big country guy, the rapper, Yeah,
- 9:59Speaker 2: he was cool to a matter of fact, bad Send
- 10:01Speaker 2: And they got a gig. They're doing Christmas in July
- 10:03Speaker 2: at west End Trading in Stamford on July twenty sixth.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Are they really Yeah, that's funny. As I was taking
- 10:09Speaker 2: off for the evening, I heard them doing a Van
- 10:10Speaker 2: Halen cover. Yeah right, they're good.
- 10:13Speaker 8: Hey.
- 10:13Speaker 5: And not to mention those cool city people too.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah, what do you mean the cool city people?
- 10:18Speaker 5: Well, you know the people that work with the city
- 10:20Speaker 5: and outwork the event.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody do a good job and it was great.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And thank Chris for the adequate for the for the
- 10:26Speaker 2: upfront parking. That's great, all right, Chris is the Yeah, Chris,
- 10:32Speaker 2: I need three parking spots so we can just pull
- 10:36Speaker 2: right in and sure enough, bot right in and right
- 10:38Speaker 2: into the event. Dude got us so close. I think
- 10:40Speaker 2: I could have done the gig for my truck. I
- 10:42Speaker 2: literally could have done it from the cab my truck.
- 10:43Speaker 2: We were right there. Also, Jack was in marrit Island.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Did you get to see Inner Circle?
- 10:47Speaker 4: I did?
- 10:48Speaker 2: That was the last night I got to introduce him
- 10:49Speaker 2: on stage. Oh cool? Is that that's the they did
- 10:53Speaker 2: the song bad Boys, Bad Boys from Cops.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:56Speaker 7: They've been the reggae band since like the late sixties. Wow,
- 10:59Speaker 7: they hit it big with that that when that became
- 11:02Speaker 7: the theme song for Cops.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yeah, well okay, so were they also at one of
- 11:06Speaker 2: our July fourth events, like a couple of years ago,
- 11:09Speaker 2: like either at some aris one of these other things.
- 11:10Speaker 7: Yeah, they occasionally pop around. They continue to tour. Yeah, man,
- 11:15Speaker 7: so many years cheap. What was really cool? Yeah, what
- 11:20Speaker 7: was really cool is this was at the Merit Island
- 11:23Speaker 7: Amphitheater and it was Merit Island Fest and they had
- 11:27Speaker 7: article sound system on Saturday night. They had Inner Circle
- 11:31Speaker 7: on Sunday, but it was the first time using it
- 11:36Speaker 7: was a brand new facility that they just built, this
- 11:38Speaker 7: Amphitheater because Merritt Island, for many people is something you
- 11:42Speaker 7: go through to get from Coco to Coco Beach, you know,
- 11:45Speaker 7: to get to the Barrier Islands are going to get
- 11:47Speaker 7: back mainland. But this was, you know, having an event
- 11:50Speaker 7: to go to in Merit Island was pretty neat and
- 11:54Speaker 7: that that venue, that facility is great. So they had
- 11:57Speaker 7: this new Amphitheater. It was and the weather was perfect.
- 12:00Speaker 7: They say, the weather was absolutely purse right on the river. Yeah,
- 12:03Speaker 7: you had this lovely breeze. It was just it's awesome. Yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 7: what a way to spend a summer afternoon. That's the
- 12:08Speaker 7: best way ever. Rights and some beers. Yeah, if you
- 12:11Speaker 7: live in Barvarn, keep an eye on future events there. Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 7: it was pretty neat. That's cool, all right, four seven
- 12:15Speaker 7: nine six four one. Again, you can always text us
- 12:17Speaker 7: at seven seven zero three one to I bet I
- 12:19Speaker 7: got some news.
- 12:20Speaker 6: Yeah, we're gonna talk a little bit more about Florida
- 12:22Speaker 6: residents feeling that earthquake. Wes the jury trial is set
- 12:26Speaker 6: to begin in the Palisades fire, and Elmo claps back
- 12:31Speaker 6: at his critics.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Yes, the Muppet. We'll talk about that next, daring JCS news.
- 12:35Speaker 2: All right, take little break, we'll come back and get
- 12:36Speaker 2: Dev's news and do more than Jim Golbert shows say
- 12:38Speaker 2: right there.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Good afternoon, jameson crew Evil.
- 12:46Speaker 8: I hear, it was great to see.
- 12:48Speaker 13: You last night.
- 12:49Speaker 14: Jimmy complaining about the tolls Jack thinking that I was
- 12:53Speaker 14: standing in front of them when I was behind him,
- 12:56Speaker 14: and then me and just chugging some cigarettes out side
- 13:01Speaker 14: while Chris was sweating his ass off and worried about
- 13:05Speaker 14: his job.
- 13:08Speaker 15: Play the texts, Yeah, yeah, So I call in and Jimmy,
- 13:12Speaker 15: I bust her chops all the time with these messages,
- 13:16Speaker 15: and I do it with love. So I think it's
- 13:18Speaker 15: the baseball player in me, you know, just busting chops
- 13:22Speaker 15: in the dugout or whatever you get it from back
- 13:24Speaker 15: in the day.
- 13:24Speaker 16: I do.
- 13:25Speaker 15: But man, when I saw that picture you three up
- 13:27Speaker 15: on stage, Man, you know, there's always those things in
- 13:30Speaker 15: life that bring back those really good memories, those core
- 13:33Speaker 15: like nostalgic memories and yeah, that picture was one of them.
- 13:37Speaker 17: Men.
- 13:37Speaker 15: Now, thank you for being there.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it was fun. Another big thanks for Rustling,
- 13:42Speaker 2: the crew for having us out, and we had a
- 13:44Speaker 2: really good time mixing it up with those guys. It
- 13:47Speaker 2: was a good time. And standing next to those two guys,
- 13:50Speaker 2: you look thin, not young though I look taller too.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:57Speaker 2: All right, four seven night one four one text seven
- 14:00Speaker 2: seven zero three one. If you want to send a
- 14:01Speaker 2: talk back, that's easy. You heard that, young man. You
- 14:03Speaker 2: can do the same thing as well. Grab the iHeartRadio
- 14:05Speaker 2: app good a real radio and use it, Mike to
- 14:07Speaker 2: send your comment over to Jack. We'll get you on there.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'm Jim. There's Jack and Deb has your news.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Good's time for JCS news. Wow this this guy got
- 14:19Speaker 3: to push name on everything.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It's in my contract ed.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Here's the news on the Jim Colberg Show.
- 14:24Speaker 6: And as always, JCS News is brought to you by
- 14:28Speaker 6: that mortgage guy, Don all right. People all over Florida
- 14:31Speaker 6: say they felt an earthquake that was centered just west
- 14:33Speaker 6: of Cuba. The USGS says the six point one hit
- 14:37Speaker 6: the Southern Gulf. Today, there is no tsunami threat and
- 14:40Speaker 6: no reports of any damage yet. Social media posts show
- 14:44Speaker 6: people as far north as right here in central Florida
- 14:46Speaker 6: reporting that they felt the quake, and someone texted us
- 14:48Speaker 6: at seven to seven zero three one saying that WFTV
- 14:52Speaker 6: Channel nine said to expect small aftershocks, possibly for the
- 14:56Speaker 6: next couple of hours.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Cool.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, because then Jack, you'd be like, hey, I
- 14:59Speaker 5: felt it too.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't want to be part of this. Meanwhile, right
- 15:02Speaker 2: into the building collapses.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Florida's emergency managers are always preparing for hurricane season, right, okay,
- 15:09Speaker 6: oh yeah, but at least one is also getting ready
- 15:12Speaker 6: for something that's unlikely but not impossible. Flagler County Emergency
- 15:18Speaker 6: Management Director Jonathan Lord says his county has almost completed
- 15:22Speaker 6: the process to get National Weather Service certification as tsunami ready.
- 15:28Speaker 6: Lord says Florida is not an earthquake zone, but events
- 15:31Speaker 6: in the Caribbean like what we saw today, Northeast US,
- 15:34Speaker 6: and even the Canary Islands could shake things up here.
- 15:38Speaker 18: Those three areas do have fault zones that could create
- 15:41Speaker 18: the right earthquake that could cause a tsunami to travel
- 15:45Speaker 18: our way.
- 15:45Speaker 6: So there's the potential for earthquakes in the Caribbean again,
- 15:48Speaker 6: Northeast US and Canary Islands triggering a tsunami. Indian River
- 15:52Speaker 6: County and the City of Indian Harbor Beach and Brevard
- 15:55Speaker 6: County are also designated tsunami ready.
- 15:59Speaker 8: That is crazy.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy? You'd have to say that the state.
- 16:02Speaker 8: But here we are.
- 16:03Speaker 6: We have audio talking about earthquakes in the Caribbean, and
- 16:06Speaker 6: we just got done feeling crazy.
- 16:08Speaker 5: An earthquake in the Caribbean.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah, all right.
- 16:10Speaker 6: To the Brevard County man who's accused of intentionally starting
- 16:14Speaker 6: the deadly California Pacific Palisades Fire faces a jury today.
- 16:19Speaker 6: Twenty nine year old Jonathan Renderneck was arrested in Melbourne
- 16:23Speaker 6: in late twenty twenty five. He's accused of starting the
- 16:25Speaker 6: Lachman Fire on New Year's Day. It smoldered underground for
- 16:29Speaker 6: about a week before eventually turning into the Palisades Fire.
- 16:34Speaker 6: A dozen people were killed, thousands of homes were destroyed.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Render Neck pleaded not guilty to all of the charges
- 16:41Speaker 6: and is facing up to forty five years in prison,
- 16:43Speaker 6: which to me seems like a pretty poultry sentence when
- 16:47Speaker 6: you consider twelve lives and thousands of people were burned.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Out of their homes.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I mean hundreds of millions of dollars that got into
- 16:53Speaker 2: the billions in damage because where that did this damage.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I mean, those homes are very expensive, the palisades. We're
- 16:59Speaker 2: actually talking to Rache about that very thing today, so
- 17:01Speaker 2: we'll get a little bit more clarification on why those
- 17:04Speaker 2: charges aren't more severe, because I agree with you one
- 17:06Speaker 2: hundred percent. I cannot imagine that they shouldn't be more
- 17:09Speaker 2: than forty five years. He's only twenty something years old
- 17:11Speaker 2: here ready twenty nine with good with good behavior or whatever.
- 17:15Speaker 2: If that still existed, he could be out in like
- 17:18Speaker 2: thirty years. Something could be out when he's fifty five
- 17:20Speaker 2: sixty years old.
- 17:20Speaker 6: I wonder if it has to do with the fact
- 17:22Speaker 6: that I think he's facing federal charges and I'm not
- 17:25Speaker 6: state charge.
- 17:25Speaker 3: May be so.
- 17:26Speaker 6: The trial is expected to last one to two weeks.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Florida's chief financial officer is touting the property tax cut
- 17:33Speaker 6: plan going on the November ballot as he calls out
- 17:36Speaker 6: the City of Jacksonville for excessive spending. Blazing Golia says
- 17:41Speaker 6: his FAFO campaign found two hundred and seventy five million
- 17:45Speaker 6: dollars of wasteful spending In Jacksonville, property.
- 17:49Speaker 13: Taxes have been going up, not not because of essential
- 17:54Speaker 13: services or the need for additional services or the increased costs,
- 17:59Speaker 13: or because you need more fire, more police.
- 18:02Speaker 6: If sixty percent of Florida voters approved the measure, it
- 18:05Speaker 6: would increase or current fifty thousand homestead exemption to one
- 18:09Speaker 6: hundred fifty thousand and twenty twenty seven and two hundred
- 18:13Speaker 6: fifty thousand and twenty twenty eight. There is an exemption
- 18:16Speaker 6: for public schools, but critics worry it will defund local government.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I reached out to some of the mayors around
- 18:22Speaker 2: here to get some response. We're having Sandford's mayor, Art
- 18:25Speaker 2: Woodruff on Wednesday, and hopefully we'll have more people who
- 18:29Speaker 2: run these municipalities on to kind of explain how it
- 18:31Speaker 2: could affect people who live in those communities. Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker 6: Like that beautiful new Amphitheaar that they just had in
- 18:37Speaker 6: Merritt Island, right if that thing probably has municipal bonds
- 18:40Speaker 6: on it.
- 18:41Speaker 7: I don't know about that, Yeah, but I mean to
- 18:43Speaker 7: help them may Yeah, Yeah, just any city. Anything that
- 18:46Speaker 7: a city does, you know, their funding comes through taxes.
- 18:50Speaker 6: We have a new resource center that's getting ready to
- 18:52Speaker 6: open a Mount Dora, and it'll be interesting to see
- 18:54Speaker 6: what happens with that. In the meantime, a watchdog group
- 18:57Speaker 6: is flagging hundreds of spending items in the new state budget.
- 19:01Speaker 6: What Florida tax Watch identifies six hundred and twenty one
- 19:06Speaker 6: so called budget turkeys totally nearly eight hundred and thirty
- 19:11Speaker 6: million dollars, saying they bypass normal review or budgeting rules.
- 19:15Speaker 6: The report also points to another four hundred and eighty
- 19:18Speaker 6: four projects worth more than four hundred and forty one
- 19:20Speaker 6: million dollars that it says should get closer scrutiny before
- 19:24Speaker 6: the budget takes effect.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah, blaze, why don't you go check that exactly?
- 19:28Speaker 6: While they're running around looking atybody Arsol's books, When the
- 19:30Speaker 6: hell do we get to look at Tallahouse's books.
- 19:32Speaker 19: Ye.
- 19:33Speaker 6: The findings come despite calls for spending restraint, with tax
- 19:36Speaker 6: Watch urging Governor Ron DeSantis to carefully review questionable projects
- 19:40Speaker 6: before signing the plan. Speaking of budgeting, Florida drivers are
- 19:44Speaker 6: getting more relief at the pump. Triple A says the
- 19:47Speaker 6: state wide averages down to three seventy eight a gallon.
- 19:51Speaker 2: And I saw it lower than that this week and
- 19:53Speaker 2: I saw a three thirty nine a gallon this weekday.
- 19:55Speaker 5: Nice, Well, that three seventy eight.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I think I might buy it today. I'll celebrate.
- 20:00Speaker 6: The three seventy eight is about twenty cents twenty six
- 20:03Speaker 6: cents lower than a week ago, seventy two cents less
- 20:06Speaker 6: than a month ago.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Checked Oof's car run by a chainsaw, and he's bragging
- 20:10Speaker 2: about his gas mileage. What a douche.
- 20:12Speaker 6: Spokesman Mark Jenkins says increase confidence and easing tensions between
- 20:16Speaker 6: the US and Iran has helped push oil prices lower,
- 20:19Speaker 6: cutting fuel costs, but he warns prices remain volatile and
- 20:23Speaker 6: Florida's weekly pricing cycle could still bring short term spikes,
- 20:26Speaker 6: and again, July is the heaviest month for gasoline purchases,
- 20:31Speaker 6: the biggest traveling.
- 20:32Speaker 7: That said, I passed the double wah today and it
- 20:35Speaker 7: was three ninety nine a gallon. Then whoa exactly? I'm like, hey,
- 20:39Speaker 7: wait a minute, no, no, no, we're going to your roll.
- 20:41Speaker 7: We're going the other way. Slow your roll.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Wah to the wall.
- 20:46Speaker 6: A SpaceX is setting a new reuse record with a
- 20:50Speaker 6: sunrise launch from Central Florida. A Falcon nine rocket lifted
- 20:53Speaker 6: off from cape canaverleet six thirteen this morning, carrying twenty
- 20:57Speaker 6: nine Starlink satellites into orbit. The first stage booster flew
- 21:02Speaker 6: for a record. How many times did this first stage
- 21:05Speaker 6: booster fly before?
- 21:06Speaker 2: Six?
- 21:07Speaker 19: Oh?
- 21:08Speaker 2: No, I think they are much higher than that. I'm
- 21:10Speaker 2: going to go thirty points Jack, thirty fifth damn, really
- 21:14Speaker 2: that's crazy. Thirty fifth time. This is awesome. I love
- 21:18Speaker 2: the fact that they're able to land these recycle and
- 21:21Speaker 2: reuse it, and they're so cool to watch them land.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And it's fast too, right, Yeah, turnarounds less than like
- 21:26Speaker 2: it's months, isn't it.
- 21:27Speaker 6: Yeah, So it's successfully landed on a drone ship out
- 21:31Speaker 6: in the Atlantic. This morning's launch also marked the thirty
- 21:34Speaker 6: ninth from the space coast this year, as SpaceX continues
- 21:38Speaker 6: to push to recover and reuse its rocket stages all
- 21:42Speaker 6: right over on the other side, astronauts on the International
- 21:44Speaker 6: Space Station are back to their normal routines. Nothing to
- 21:47Speaker 6: see here after newly detected air leak race concerns last week.
- 21:51Speaker 6: NASA says the leak was found in a transfer tunnel
- 21:54Speaker 6: connected to a Russian service module. While cosmonauts worked to
- 21:58Speaker 6: repair the problem, the rest of the crew took shelter
- 22:01Speaker 6: inside the Crew Dragon capsule in case of an emergency.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Okay, we'll come back and get you guys.
- 22:07Speaker 20: So you hang here.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, let's exercise your options and you stay
- 22:14Speaker 2: right here. Now, cover your eyes and no peaking.
- 22:16Speaker 6: The issue was addressed and operations have resumed as usual,
- 22:20Speaker 6: and in the meantime, NASA is getting ready to reveal
- 22:23Speaker 6: the astronauts who will conduct the Artemis three mission. The
- 22:26Speaker 6: big announcement will happen this Tuesday tomorrow at Johnson Space Center.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Let's see the goal of the Artemis program is to
- 22:34Speaker 6: create a lasting human presence on the Moon. Artemis three
- 22:38Speaker 6: will launch in mid twenty twenty seven. Folks can watch
- 22:40Speaker 6: the live event at space dot com starting at eleven
- 22:44Speaker 6: am Eastern. I'm thinking this crew maybe the one that's
- 22:47Speaker 6: going to have the astronaut who is from DeBerry.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Oh really yeah wow Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 7: Artimist three is just when they go outside in the
- 22:55Speaker 7: I think it's low Earth orbit, but they're going They're
- 22:58Speaker 7: not going to the Moon. It's just testing, I think,
- 23:02Speaker 7: sending the vehicle out, yeah, the lander out and then
- 23:06Speaker 7: reconnecting like that whole docking situation that has to happen.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Then Artemis four is the one that lands on the moon.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Armist four is the one where he fights the Russian. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:16Speaker 2: I would break you.
- 23:18Speaker 17: Uh.
- 23:18Speaker 6: Tennis legend does tennis legend and Palm Beach residents Serena
- 23:23Speaker 6: Williams is shocking the sports world with a surprise return
- 23:27Speaker 6: to professional tennis. The forty four year old is ending
- 23:30Speaker 6: her four year retirement on the grass courts of London's
- 23:33Speaker 6: Queen's Club. She's pairing up in doubles with nineteen year
- 23:37Speaker 6: old Canadian rising star Victoria and BOCO player twenty five
- 23:41Speaker 6: years her junior.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah, have the kid do all the running?
- 23:44Speaker 21: Yeah?
- 23:44Speaker 6: Right, And when asked why she's returning now, the twenty
- 23:48Speaker 6: three time Grand Slam champion said the reporters quote, why.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Not, yea, I'm bored end quote. And by the way,
- 23:54Speaker 2: she still looks amazing, but she's still an unbelievable specimen
- 23:59Speaker 2: of an athlete.
- 24:00Speaker 7: So yeah, she's been on the row the GLP one,
- 24:03Speaker 7: she's lost weight, and I believe her husband is involved
- 24:07Speaker 7: with the company.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I think there's some connection there, but I mean, so
- 24:12Speaker 2: why not. Hey, yeah, if it works, it works. Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I saw her working out in an in issue and
- 24:16Speaker 2: some videos of her doing a workout, still ripping those
- 24:19Speaker 2: top hands like right down the line like it was
- 24:21Speaker 2: like it was twenty years ago. Dude. Just still an amazing,
- 24:23Speaker 2: amazing athlete.
- 24:24Speaker 6: Well, you figure, being you know, that level of an athlete,
- 24:28Speaker 6: she would know better than anyone else if her body
- 24:30Speaker 6: can really handle the stresses of being on the court again.
- 24:33Speaker 7: CBS Sunday Morning did a report yesterday and gop ones
- 24:36Speaker 7: and the only extra benefits the one is how it
- 24:39Speaker 7: shrinks inflammation.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Yeah, which is another one that a lot of people
- 24:43Speaker 2: have to deal with.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, the uh andy to get me some
- 24:46Speaker 6: of the the comeback tour isn't stopping in London. Tournament
- 24:49Speaker 6: officials have confirmed Williams will head to Germany next week
- 24:53Speaker 6: for the Berlin Open as she builds momentum for a
- 24:56Speaker 6: highly anticipated Grand Slam return at Wimbledon.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Later this month. Well, that would be pretty amazing, Yeah,
- 25:02Speaker 2: wouldn't If she does anything that at forty four years old,
- 25:06Speaker 2: that's that would be pretty amazing. It's great, and you know,
- 25:09Speaker 2: good for her for trying.
- 25:10Speaker 7: But we we just see this story before and it's
- 25:13Speaker 7: just like you kind of have to temper your expectations
- 25:17Speaker 7: because it's not the twenty year old version, the thirty
- 25:21Speaker 7: year old.
- 25:22Speaker 2: How old was Brady when he won his last Super Bowl?
- 25:25Speaker 2: He was in his forties, right, I thought he was
- 25:26Speaker 2: in the state. Jack Nick was one of Masters at
- 25:28Speaker 2: forty six years old. Wow, So just keep that under
- 25:31Speaker 2: your head. And Michelson won a PGA championship at fifty one.
- 25:35Speaker 7: So this is golf though. That's yeah, that's a hobby, right,
- 25:39Speaker 7: very good. We're talking tennis, which is a sport.
- 25:41Speaker 6: Yeah, And now we're talking soccer, where veterans and first
- 25:44Speaker 6: responders have a chance to score some free tickets to
- 25:47Speaker 6: upcoming World Cup matches. Bank of America is offering forty
- 25:51Speaker 6: five hundred free World Cup tickets to veterans and first
- 25:54Speaker 6: responders to honor America's two hundred and fiftieth Birthday celebration
- 25:58Speaker 6: this July. Boa Market President Jason Edelman says, a first
- 26:02Speaker 6: sign up at vettics or first ticks dot org.
- 26:07Speaker 18: We have donated two million dollars for veterans, current military
- 26:12Speaker 18: first responders and their families to get tickets to several
- 26:16Speaker 18: FIFA World Cup matches at no cost to them at all.
- 26:20Speaker 6: So hard Rock Stadium will be used for four group
- 26:23Speaker 6: stage matches, followed by a knockout round match, a quarterfinal match,
- 26:27Speaker 6: and the third place match. Speaking of veterans and first responder,
- 26:31Speaker 6: especially veterans, I think this is a cool story. A
- 26:34Speaker 6: nonprofit is asking for help and finding some World War
- 26:38Speaker 6: II and Korean War veterans. All right, Honor Flight Central
- 26:43Speaker 6: Florida is looking for veterans for Mission thirty seven. The
- 26:47Speaker 6: goal is to take twenty veterans from World War II
- 26:50Speaker 6: and Korea, plus forty from Vietnam on a free flight
- 26:54Speaker 6: to Washington, DC and October. So Honor Flight Central Florida
- 26:58Speaker 6: serves veterans by flying them to DC to see the
- 27:01Speaker 6: memorials built in their honor. The one day flights are
- 27:05Speaker 6: free and you can find more info at Honor Flight Central, Florida,
- 27:08Speaker 6: Dot or So.
- 27:09Speaker 5: How many times have they done this? Oh gosh, yeah,
- 27:12Speaker 5: they've done this a lot, right.
- 27:13Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I remember hearing one hearing about this a couple of
- 27:16Speaker 2: years ago. I had no idea what was going on,
- 27:18Speaker 2: and then I heard it. I was like, Dan, that's
- 27:19Speaker 2: a really cool it's awesome.
- 27:21Speaker 7: Yeah, but also you know, with World War Two veterans,
- 27:24Speaker 7: guess I was shocked at how fast they were dying.
- 27:27Speaker 7: And that was ten fifteen years ago. And now you're
- 27:31Speaker 7: talking upper nineties, early one hundreds for any survivors.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and even Korean and Vietnamese Vietnam War. I
- 27:39Speaker 2: mean those guys are in there, what late seventies now.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, so again, twenty veterans from World War Two
- 27:44Speaker 6: in Korea plus forty from Vietnam. So if you know
- 27:46Speaker 6: of anyone who served during those conflicts, get in touch
- 27:49Speaker 6: with Honor Flights Central Florida, No, you know, for free,
- 27:52Speaker 6: take them up and let them see the memorials.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Eighty one years ago, World War two end.
- 27:55Speaker 6: Yes, that's crazy, all right. And then fortunately, if you
- 27:59Speaker 6: were trying to this concert this weekend.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Oh this is the guy now.
- 28:11Speaker 6: Charlie Booth is resting after having to cancel a weekend
- 28:14Speaker 6: show due to sickness. The thirty four year old singer
- 28:16Speaker 6: posted to Instagram canceling his Saturday show here in Orlando,
- 28:20Speaker 6: telling fans that he'd been sick for several days and
- 28:23Speaker 6: was physically unable to perform. The singer songwriter said he
- 28:27Speaker 6: was instructed to rest or risk canceling more dates on
- 28:31Speaker 6: his tour that wraps up soon in the US before
- 28:34Speaker 6: moving on to Europe. No word when or if there's
- 28:37Speaker 6: going to be a makeup date.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Another guy I wouldn't know. If I bumped into him
- 28:40Speaker 2: in the hallway, I would because, believe it or not,
- 28:44Speaker 2: he's got perfect pitch. And one of the things that
- 28:46Speaker 2: he does when he goes on like these shows to
- 28:49Speaker 2: promote his albums or whatever he's doing, is is he'll
- 28:51Speaker 2: bring this little a little recorder thing with him and
- 28:54Speaker 2: it's called there's a name for it. I cannot remember
- 28:56Speaker 2: the name of it right now, but he can record.
- 28:58Speaker 2: He'll do a pencil on a coffee cup, and he'll
- 29:01Speaker 2: do a beat on the desk and record that, and
- 29:03Speaker 2: then he can it's a loop a loop station, and
- 29:06Speaker 2: he builds a song right there. And he has perfect pitch. So,
- 29:10Speaker 2: in other words, he can sing in perfect key every
- 29:12Speaker 2: single time, and it's a rarity. That's a rare, total talent.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Your wife would know that for sure. But that's how
- 29:18Speaker 2: I kind of know him, because it is the stuff
- 29:21Speaker 2: that he can do outside of his songs, which I'm
- 29:22Speaker 2: not a giant fan of, is kind of cool. And
- 29:24Speaker 2: he's suposed to be a great guy. Well, he canceled
- 29:29Speaker 2: his concerts, sick, you can't do anything about it.
- 29:31Speaker 5: And then finally you all excited about the game tonight?
- 29:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 29:35Speaker 5: Sure, yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 6: The official social media account for Elmo has responded to
- 29:41Speaker 6: critics of a post teammate about the NBA Finals. In
- 29:45Speaker 6: his previous post, the Sesame Street character said he hopes
- 29:47Speaker 6: the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs quote have
- 29:51Speaker 6: fun end quote and their NBA Finals matchup. Then on Thursday,
- 29:54Speaker 6: Elmo posted on x quote nixt that last message.
- 29:58Speaker 5: Elmo didn't mean to spur you on. Some people need
- 30:03Speaker 5: a hobby.
- 30:04Speaker 6: So some social media users were so upset with the
- 30:07Speaker 6: red puppet over the fact that Cecil.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Street is mainly filmed and set in New York City.
- 30:12Speaker 6: A few went as far as calling Elmo quote a
- 30:15Speaker 6: trader end quote.
- 30:19Speaker 5: Regardless of the post.
- 30:20Speaker 6: The next one the second game of the series, and
- 30:22Speaker 6: a nail bier Friday Night to take a two nothing
- 30:25Speaker 6: series lead.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Imagine being a grown ass human being arguing with a puppets.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Imagine being a grown ass human being and you're triggered
- 30:35Speaker 2: by a puppet, and you feel so triggered that you
- 30:38Speaker 2: have to run to your phone and let a puppet
- 30:40Speaker 2: know how you feel, President, how it feels about basketball.
- 30:44Speaker 2: President's going to the game tonight. Yeah yep. And Mayor
- 30:47Speaker 2: Mindami is going to the game tonight.
- 30:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:50Speaker 7: And people who have spent way too much money on
- 30:53Speaker 7: tickets going to the game tonight.
- 30:54Speaker 5: Yeah yah, upwards a ten.
- 30:57Speaker 7: I can't I can't around that spending that much money
- 31:01Speaker 7: to go see a game that's on television.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. Well, and these people can't wrap their
- 31:07Speaker 2: head around the idea that of not being there for
- 31:09Speaker 2: only ten grand. Yeah, because it's only ten grand. Of
- 31:13Speaker 2: those guys, I mean you think Kardashian cares Ben Still
- 31:15Speaker 2: and his wife like, yeah, Spike Lee at ten ko.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Those guys is like you and I spend on a
- 31:19Speaker 2: dollar at seven eleven. You know, it was cool with
- 31:22Speaker 2: Ben Spike Lee, Yeah, New York Sports. But Ben Steller
- 31:25Speaker 2: he goes to the Nick games even during the regular
- 31:27Speaker 2: season that he's he's there all the time. And what
- 31:30Speaker 2: I didn't know about Timothy Shalomy, He's been to Nick
- 31:33Speaker 2: fan there's a picture of him like when he was
- 31:35Speaker 2: ten with the Knicks and stuff.
- 31:37Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 31:37Speaker 5: Yeah, so imagine the security tonight.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Oh any fun yep.
- 31:43Speaker 5: And that concludes your Jcus news.
- 31:46Speaker 8: Watch it on TV A.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Text us at seven seven zero three one back in
- 31:53Speaker 2: a second with more than Jim Corbord show.
- 31:59Speaker 3: What hell is a good one?
- 32:01Speaker 14: You know you have every tea Beckon rock Ledge in
- 32:05Speaker 14: the day we raise a beer to name your poison day.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I think you all know what my poison is, Mara Juanna,
- 32:15Speaker 2: Oh have.
- 32:17Speaker 11: A good joe y'all.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 32:18Speaker 9: Please, Hey Jay Sam Posse, you know we should be
- 32:24Speaker 9: allowed to use a paintball gun on stupid people, color
- 32:28Speaker 9: coded even one for.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Tailgator, Jaywalkers, crown ass, adults who criticize Muppets. It's a
- 32:35Speaker 2: muppet man. Yeah, double tap, just saying yeah, I can't
- 32:42Speaker 2: say that I haven't fun of that at least once
- 32:44Speaker 2: in my life. Paintball seems like a well, when you
- 32:47Speaker 2: live on a street where people speed through there a
- 32:49Speaker 2: lot right as a cutoff, which we did when we
- 32:52Speaker 2: live around the corner here, man, you just get so irritated,
- 32:55Speaker 2: and uh, I was just like, well, I guess we
- 32:57Speaker 2: just light some people up with a paintball gun. But
- 32:59Speaker 2: that would be a I got a cut of it. Yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 2: that's a bad idea. Got one from brought a Matt
- 33:03Speaker 2: about the honor flights.
- 33:05Speaker 10: Hey, yeah, the honor flight is something else. I've met
- 33:10Speaker 10: some of these guys that have been able to fly
- 33:12Speaker 10: in the past. But there's one hundred and twenty five
- 33:15Speaker 10: chapters across the United States and they've served over four
- 33:18Speaker 10: hundred thousand veterans with these flights. Now, while they don't
- 33:21Speaker 10: give an actual number, and it started in two thousand
- 33:25Speaker 10: and five, they just say they've done thousands of flights
- 33:28Speaker 10: five a year, I think in these local chapters. So
- 33:31Speaker 10: the math is there, Heloha.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Heloh una. All right for seven nine four one text
- 33:40Speaker 2: us seven seven zero three one. I'm gym. There's debt
- 33:43Speaker 2: check us here as well. Greetings, we got at update
- 33:45Speaker 2: for the the big time earthquake that we experience here
- 33:48Speaker 2: in Florida. Everybody running for their lives. Everthing's on fire,
- 33:50Speaker 2: Godzilla's coming.
- 33:51Speaker 6: Well actually it it was the strongest earthquake near Florida
- 33:55Speaker 6: on record, really the strongest earthquake ever recorded in the
- 33:58Speaker 6: golf So I mean it shook for what fifteen yeah,
- 34:02Speaker 6: maybe fifteen to twenty seconds.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Cuba's ninety miles away right from the tip of Florida,
- 34:06Speaker 2: and then we are west two hundred and fifty miles
- 34:09Speaker 2: away from Miami or something like that. So it was
- 34:12Speaker 2: like four or five hundred miles away and we still
- 34:14Speaker 2: felt it.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Yeah, we still felt it.
- 34:15Speaker 6: And again WFTV Channel nine had reported apparently that we
- 34:19Speaker 6: could expect to even feel after shocks for a few
- 34:22Speaker 6: hours afterwards.
- 34:23Speaker 2: But this is from Welsh.
- 34:25Speaker 6: This is from West West two. Lake County said it's
- 34:29Speaker 6: government offices would be closed the rest of the day
- 34:32Speaker 6: after the earthquake, quote out of an abundance of caution
- 34:36Speaker 6: and county you're saying a Monday off because it shook
- 34:41Speaker 6: for thirty seconds. But that's not all you guys. Several
- 34:44Speaker 6: rides at SeaWorld and other theme parks have closed temporarily
- 34:48Speaker 6: so badly that I understand.
- 34:50Speaker 7: For precaution, I just want to, you know, do a
- 34:52Speaker 7: test stress test on rides that are yeah, you know,
- 34:56Speaker 7: also precision run exactly.
- 34:58Speaker 2: But Lake County, though you could revive a fall from
- 35:00Speaker 2: their skyscraper. It is literally two and a half, fatally
- 35:04Speaker 2: forty feet. You get real, you probably jump down there.
- 35:07Speaker 2: That It's pretty damn funny.
- 35:09Speaker 6: There are also reports that the Regions building in downtown
- 35:12Speaker 6: Orlando was evacuated after the Now I used to work
- 35:16Speaker 6: on the twenty second floor of the SunTrust Center. That
- 35:18Speaker 6: would not have been a fun place to experience.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Well, I will tell you we've talked about this before.
- 35:22Speaker 2: When they shot lethal weapon. What number was it here?
- 35:25Speaker 2: Was it four three or four? Whatever it was? So
- 35:28Speaker 2: we had the city building downtown and for people who
- 35:30Speaker 2: are a little bit younger or people who just moved
- 35:32Speaker 2: to Orlando within the last four or five, six years
- 35:35Speaker 2: or whatever, and well they shot that downtown Orlando.
- 35:37Speaker 7: Was it?
- 35:37Speaker 2: Was it lethal weapon or die hard le weapon? Right,
- 35:40Speaker 2: So they blew up our old city building and therehouse
- 35:43Speaker 2: and they used it for this for this movie. Well,
- 35:46Speaker 2: this building that I'm talking about is still standing. It
- 35:48Speaker 2: was called First Florida when I was there. And it
- 35:51Speaker 2: so happened that the the top floor was owned by
- 35:54Speaker 2: AT and T Corporate and my buddy's mom worked for them.
- 35:58Speaker 2: So we were able to get access to the building,
- 36:00Speaker 2: get all the way up there, and we were we
- 36:02Speaker 2: were standing right next to that window. Now this scene was, oh,
- 36:05Speaker 2: this was five blocks away and we were watching it
- 36:08Speaker 2: and I mean in four D or whatever the hell
- 36:12Speaker 2: you want to say. I mean, it was right, we
- 36:13Speaker 2: were looking right down at it. When they sparked that explosion.
- 36:16Speaker 2: The glass on the twenty second floor moved in so
- 36:21Speaker 2: much it touched our nose. We were standing there right
- 36:24Speaker 2: next to it. And when the glass went group pop. Yeah,
- 36:27Speaker 2: leath the weapon three.
- 36:29Speaker 17: Uh.
- 36:29Speaker 2: It's the opening scene in that and it was nineteen
- 36:31Speaker 2: ninety two. Yeah, yeah, crazy smart, real life in front
- 36:34Speaker 2: of them. Yeah the window, yeah, real life, real life
- 36:38Speaker 2: demolition of the older Orlando City Hall. Yeah, man City Hall.
- 36:42Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Yeah. We were just and we were just down there
- 36:44Speaker 2: because she got access to the building for us and
- 36:46Speaker 2: it was a big note for her, and I was
- 36:48Speaker 2: sending over my buddy Jeff, and sure enough when it hit,
- 36:50Speaker 2: we're like, what the blank blake blake like, it's crazy,
- 36:53Speaker 2: all right? Four O seven nine four one text us
- 36:56Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one. I wonder how many people
- 36:58Speaker 2: who were in the audience are like from the West
- 37:00Speaker 2: Coasts and have experienced like big time earthquakes before, because
- 37:03Speaker 2: we've seen them on TV. I mean one happened during
- 37:05Speaker 2: was it a World Series Jack in Oakland? Yeah? Was
- 37:08Speaker 2: that a World Series game?
- 37:09Speaker 16: It was?
- 37:09Speaker 2: You know, yes, Actually I think eighty nine.
- 37:12Speaker 5: We had someone Texas earlier and say that they're earthquake survivors.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Really yeah, like they were in a building that kind
- 37:18Speaker 2: of came down or something.
- 37:19Speaker 5: I didn't. I didn't pursue it further.
- 37:21Speaker 2: I gotta tell you straight up. Look, ain't if this
- 37:23Speaker 2: thing would have kept moving another like another a minute
- 37:26Speaker 2: or so, if it wouldn't have stopped, I'd be like, Okay, buddy,
- 37:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm not. I'm not gonna I'm not. I'm
- 37:30Speaker 2: not gonna be pancakes up in here. I'm not.
- 37:33Speaker 5: Like I said, my hand was on my keys. I
- 37:35Speaker 5: already had my phone in my pocket.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Yeah, pancaking in this building.
- 37:38Speaker 5: I just made my wallet, my phone and my keys.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Like you see it when you go to these
- 37:42Speaker 2: you know, see earthquakes happen in these countries that don't
- 37:44Speaker 2: have building codes and stuff, and you see those multiple
- 37:47Speaker 2: story apartment buildings just sitting on top of each other,
- 37:49Speaker 2: and you're like, get out of here with that. Not
- 37:52Speaker 2: a chance.
- 37:53Speaker 7: So back to the implosion or the lethal weapon three
- 37:57Speaker 7: when they blew up City Hall. It they paid fifty
- 38:00Speaker 7: thousand dollars Warner Brothers did at the time to be
- 38:04Speaker 7: able to have the film rights to be able to
- 38:06Speaker 7: do it. They added pyrotechnics to make it look yeah
- 38:10Speaker 7: like a fire.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. And then also and it.
- 38:14Speaker 7: Happened October twenty fourth, nineteen ninety one. It said it
- 38:16Speaker 7: drew a huge crowd down town and the mayor at
- 38:20Speaker 7: the time billed Frederick Wow. He was he played an officer,
- 38:26Speaker 7: and so he had a cameo as a police officer
- 38:29Speaker 7: in that movie.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Do you think the negotiated that. Do you think he said, yeah,
- 38:32Speaker 2: you can do it for fifty K if you put
- 38:34Speaker 2: me in the film. Yeah, if you put me in there.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Isn't that how Trump got into Uh? I think that's
- 38:39Speaker 2: how Trump got into Home Alone too. Isn't it our
- 38:41Speaker 2: Home Alone?
- 38:42Speaker 5: Like he went to Lost in New York.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Yeah, they wanted to was in his building. They wanted
- 38:46Speaker 2: to film that one part in his building because it
- 38:48Speaker 2: was so iconic and synonymous with New York. Yeah, but
- 38:51Speaker 2: he said, sure, but you gotta put me in the movie.
- 38:53Speaker 2: And I think that's when he comes up to him
- 38:54Speaker 2: and sees him walking out of the building and says.
- 38:56Speaker 6: That for the directions. Yeah, that was the movie set.
- 38:59Speaker 6: Myself and an Interurn snuck onto the Home.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Alone too, the.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Weapon.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I've been in two movie scenes. I've been on two
- 39:07Speaker 2: movie sets. In Orlando Parenthood. When they shot it here
- 39:10Speaker 2: in Orlando. They shot some of the scenes in the
- 39:13Speaker 2: house right over there in College Park, and then of
- 39:15Speaker 2: course that one there. Yeah, yeah, it's very cool, though
- 39:17Speaker 2: it is a movie set is badass.
- 39:19Speaker 6: Mel Gibson, I have to tell you has eyes that
- 39:22Speaker 6: glow in the dark. Oh really, his eyes are so blue.
- 39:26Speaker 6: They're just they'll stop you in your track.
- 39:28Speaker 2: That's all Paul. I met Paul Newman once at a
- 39:30Speaker 2: charity event eyes and that's how his eyes look. Fake. Yeah,
- 39:34Speaker 2: it was uncomfortable, yea, it was wild. He's tiny. He
- 39:37Speaker 2: was a little bitty guy with these big ass blue
- 39:39Speaker 2: eyes and are like, Wow, you're famous, little bitty ass,
- 39:42Speaker 2: You're famous, all right? Four one texts seven seven zero
- 39:46Speaker 2: three one back in a second with more than Jim
- 39:48Speaker 2: Colbert Show, sit right.
- 39:48Speaker 3: There, what's up?
- 39:51Speaker 22: Covert and Kelfy's Concrete and Mike went out a wiki
- 39:54Speaker 22: watch he paddle boarding on this weekend and you never
- 39:57Speaker 22: know what you're going to see you on the river.
- 39:58Speaker 22: We went from watching a teenager jump from twenty five
- 40:02Speaker 22: feet up at low tide into three and a half
- 40:04Speaker 22: feet of water and snap his leg too. I was
- 40:08Speaker 22: hand feeding someone's leamur frush strawberries.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Half a mile down the water. Later on, that's Florida.
- 40:16Speaker 2: That's a postcard.
- 40:17Speaker 8: So you guys want to know what my first rated
- 40:20Speaker 8: R movie was.
- 40:21Speaker 2: It was Lethal Weapon three when I saw downtown Orlando
- 40:26Speaker 2: City Hall blow up, and.
- 40:31Speaker 3: My dad laughed because he knew people that worked there.
- 40:35Speaker 3: But it was amazing.
- 40:39Speaker 2: It was amazing, like you couldn't believe it happened. Actually
- 40:45Speaker 2: it was like, well they did it on purpose. Hi,
- 40:50Speaker 2: welcome back on Jibbler's dep Hello, Jack's Ears one. Yeah,
- 40:55Speaker 2: there's some other drama in town. Did you guys see
- 40:57Speaker 2: that the Central Florida zook at a bomb threat this weekend?
- 41:00Speaker 17: Oh?
- 41:01Speaker 5: Who would threaten the zoo?
- 41:02Speaker 2: That's exactly why I pulled the story, Like, who would
- 41:05Speaker 2: do that? An angry sloth? That's funny, it shouldn't be
- 41:10Speaker 2: the Central The Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens evacuated
- 41:14Speaker 2: all guests and staff after receiving a bomb threat Sunday afternoon,
- 41:19Speaker 2: it says There's The released a statement following the incident
- 41:21Speaker 2: on social media, saying we immediately evacuated the zoo, including
- 41:24Speaker 2: remaining guests and staff. We work with some of the
- 41:26Speaker 2: county sheriffs to secure the premises. Based on their inspection,
- 41:30Speaker 2: they believe it was not a credible threat. As a
- 41:32Speaker 2: result of the clearance by the Sheriff's office, the zoo
- 41:34Speaker 2: will be open Monday from Angel three for our standard
- 41:36Speaker 2: operating hours for the summer. Sorry for the issues, but
- 41:39Speaker 2: off we go. Who calls it in a threat to
- 41:41Speaker 2: a zoo? Yeah, and then they hit I guess the animals.
- 41:46Speaker 2: You have to just say, Okay, you guys, stay here,
- 41:49Speaker 2: we'll be back.
- 41:50Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I mean you can't momba. You can't really take them out.
- 41:53Speaker 2: You don't have an art near. Uh, so you gotta
- 41:56Speaker 2: you gotta take them out of there. I guess I
- 41:57Speaker 2: gotta leave them in there. That's crazy. I'm like, I
- 41:59Speaker 2: can't sagine anybody in the world would call in a
- 42:02Speaker 2: bomb threat to a zoo. That's got to be like
- 42:03Speaker 2: a personal thing, right, That's got to be like somebody's
- 42:07Speaker 2: somebody's X or something like that, calling in the bomb
- 42:09Speaker 2: threat just to make that person's life absolutely miserable. Because
- 42:14Speaker 2: there's no reason to threat in the zoo. The zoo
- 42:17Speaker 2: is like it's the most inert like a thing on earth,
- 42:22Speaker 2: Like it doesn't do anything but good? How would or
- 42:26Speaker 2: why would anybody do that?
- 42:28Speaker 5: I have a feeling it's just like Jack said. It
- 42:29Speaker 5: could be an angry animal activist.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Yeap, that could be or it could be kids on
- 42:36Speaker 2: the hundred days of summer. Hey, what do you want
- 42:38Speaker 2: to do today?
- 42:38Speaker 8: I bet you won't do this.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Wow, I thought you were going to talk about them
- 42:42Speaker 5: opening a new goat encounter.
- 42:44Speaker 2: No, I didn't see that a goat encounter?
- 42:47Speaker 19: Yeah?
- 42:48Speaker 2: Is that rare enough to be a.
- 42:49Speaker 5: Draw for little kids who want to do like a
- 42:52Speaker 5: petting zoo?
- 42:52Speaker 4: Is that what it is?
- 42:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 42:54Speaker 8: Is that what it is?
- 42:54Speaker 2: Like a petting zoo?
- 42:55Speaker 5: Cons I still have new cougar cubs?
- 42:57Speaker 2: Really really, that's crazy. Maybe how often have you interacted
- 43:02Speaker 2: with a goat that except that one time you did yoga?
- 43:05Speaker 17: No?
- 43:05Speaker 5: I mean and you know, I mean they were so cute.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Hometown, you got a couple of them out there, you know?
- 43:10Speaker 2: Not many though not many. Goats make me very uncomfortable.
- 43:13Speaker 2: And Palatka they use some of his lawnmower. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 43:16Speaker 2: that's true though a lot of people do that too.
- 43:18Speaker 2: They bring a herd in on a trail, yeah yeah,
- 43:21Speaker 2: and they will eat anything have you ever seen the
- 43:22Speaker 2: before and afters of that online? No, like you know
- 43:25Speaker 2: Instagram videos. The guy goes and this is calls himself
- 43:28Speaker 2: like the goat guy. He's got a herd of like
- 43:29Speaker 2: thirty five to fifty goats, I think it is, and
- 43:32Speaker 2: you hire him. And one guy had a giant field
- 43:35Speaker 2: that he owned. It was overgrown with like weeds and stuff.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I mean it looked like a forest of weeds. And
- 43:40Speaker 2: they put and they put some goats in there, and
- 43:42Speaker 2: the goats won't if I remember right, they could just
- 43:45Speaker 2: put up a yellow tape like a cops would and
- 43:48Speaker 2: the goat the goats will not go beyond it. It's
- 43:51Speaker 2: the weirdest thing. They can read caution on it. It's
- 43:54Speaker 2: so wild, but they won't venture outside that. Now we're
- 43:57Speaker 2: open an area off and it's like before and after
- 43:59Speaker 2: six hours, fifty goats can do some damage, like damage,
- 44:04Speaker 2: I mean they take it all out. Yeah, it is
- 44:06Speaker 2: cool the way of it, and they load them back
- 44:10Speaker 2: up and I'll they go, have you the chicken. They
- 44:11Speaker 2: do it with chickens, do like they go take They
- 44:14Speaker 2: take like a flock of chickens and they put them
- 44:16Speaker 2: in this big square. It's made out of fence, and
- 44:19Speaker 2: it's got this tilting mechanism where you can tilt it
- 44:21Speaker 2: down and it'll raise it up just about three inches
- 44:24Speaker 2: so they can roll it. So they'll they'll let the
- 44:26Speaker 2: chickens wear it's about the size of this room right
- 44:28Speaker 2: here actually, so it's like maybe twenty by twenty, okay,
- 44:31Speaker 2: and they'll let the chickens like work out all the
- 44:33Speaker 2: stuff they need to work out in that grass, like
- 44:35Speaker 2: eat whatever we're gonna eat, and they move it to
- 44:36Speaker 2: another area and the chickens do that as well. I
- 44:39Speaker 2: know that they use that to detick places as well,
- 44:42Speaker 2: because chickens and peacocks and birds like that eat ticks
- 44:45Speaker 2: like crazy. So if you want your property to be
- 44:48Speaker 2: free of ticks, apparently you get ducks, chickens and peacocks
- 44:51Speaker 2: because they'll eat every tick in within a mile, which
- 44:54Speaker 2: is this is a great natural way to organic way
- 44:57Speaker 2: to kind of sound problem.
- 44:59Speaker 6: Especially because tickpipe a tick bites, and reports of lime
- 45:02Speaker 6: disease are on the increase in Florida.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, there's about a week and a half ago
- 45:06Speaker 2: they said that the tick situation up north was horrible
- 45:09Speaker 2: right now. I don't know if you guys ever protect
- 45:11Speaker 2: yourselves from that. But I gotta tell you, man, after
- 45:13Speaker 2: finding a couple on me, after you know, kind of
- 45:15Speaker 2: wandering through the woods and working on my property, I
- 45:18Speaker 2: get real tripped out. Like if I have to go
- 45:21Speaker 2: in the woods woods to do work, you know, if
- 45:22Speaker 2: we're doing cleaning and stuff, man, I'm head to toe
- 45:25Speaker 2: sleeves all the way down, gloves. I hate those stupid things.
- 45:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Same here. I had one of my belly button once.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Oh really, my friend's son had a couple on his.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Uh the how did you get there? He's swimming. It's
- 45:39Speaker 2: like he's swimming. We're out there playing in the woods.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Wasn't the meter the two veg?
- 45:43Speaker 2: The two veg? Yeah yeah, yeah, on the back side
- 45:47Speaker 2: of there too, so he couldn't even see it to
- 45:49Speaker 2: get it out. So it's death this old man that
- 45:51Speaker 2: hauld get it out of there for him. Oh yeah,
- 45:54Speaker 2: that's where they go though, they go to those dark ways.
- 45:56Speaker 2: They're going to be down to your crotch. That's what
- 45:58Speaker 2: they're going to be under your arm and stuff.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Tintsville, Yeah, yeah, I believe in Rhode Island they're doing
- 46:04Speaker 7: some They're using Chris Spur to change DNA and what
- 46:09Speaker 7: they're they are doing it to a certain type of
- 46:14Speaker 7: mouse that carries ticks, and Rhode Island is one of
- 46:18Speaker 7: the places that has the most tick.
- 46:21Speaker 2: When the ticks latch onto the mice. Yes, then they
- 46:24Speaker 2: like sterilized. It's just like that thing they do with
- 46:27Speaker 2: the mosquitoes here last week, right, they were los released
- 46:30Speaker 2: like a million sterile mosquitoes.
- 46:32Speaker 5: All Oil was planning on doing that. They're male mosquitoes.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, man, ticks are no good. And I
- 46:39Speaker 2: get real freaked out by him. And I've seen a
- 46:42Speaker 2: deer there. You know, you online you can picture of
- 46:44Speaker 2: deer up in the north when they start running when
- 46:46Speaker 2: it gets warm up there, and they're just apparently really
- 46:48Speaker 2: Remember how Brent Brendan O'Connor told us how bad the
- 46:51Speaker 2: flies were up in Canada and Upper New York during
- 46:55Speaker 2: the summer. He goes, you almost can't be up there
- 46:58Speaker 2: because these black flies are just everywhere. And I think
- 47:01Speaker 2: they're biting flies. Are they not?
- 47:02Speaker 6: Well, somebody just texted us at seven seven zero three one. Yeah,
- 47:05Speaker 6: my brother in law was bitten by a tick and
- 47:07Speaker 6: now he can't have red meat.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Yeah, man, they get that that crazy lime disease thing
- 47:11Speaker 2: and it's no good. It takes a while to get.
- 47:13Speaker 6: Rid of it, and apparently it's very debilitating. Yeah, a
- 47:16Speaker 6: lot more debilitating than we've were really kind of led
- 47:19Speaker 6: to believe.
- 47:20Speaker 2: I think there's it. Wasn't there a big star, A
- 47:22Speaker 2: couple of big stars, wasn't I think one of them
- 47:24Speaker 2: was that singer?
- 47:25Speaker 23: Was it?
- 47:25Speaker 5: Justin Bieber? Didn't yelse?
- 47:27Speaker 2: Look at Bieber got lime disease And there's a couple
- 47:29Speaker 2: other people that deal with it. It's still because I
- 47:31Speaker 2: don't think there's a cure for it. And I think
- 47:32Speaker 2: once you get it, you've got it.
- 47:33Speaker 5: You've got it.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I think the first person I ever remember to
- 47:36Speaker 2: get it. This is going to be a real throwback
- 47:38Speaker 2: was an artist named Nana Cherry.
- 47:40Speaker 21: Oh.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they did that song Buffalo Stands. I think they
- 47:42Speaker 2: kind of almost ruined her career. She got like a
- 47:44Speaker 2: tick bike and and got lime disease. Or I think
- 47:47Speaker 2: it was her. But there are other people as well
- 47:49Speaker 2: that got it and they said they just you can't
- 47:51Speaker 2: shake it. Oh are you ready?
- 47:53Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:55Speaker 7: Justin Timberlake, Timberlake, that's it. Yep, belahadide, Okay, Justin Bieber, Okay.
- 48:01Speaker 7: Avril Levine Okay, Shania Twain really, Alec Baldwin really, Yolanda
- 48:07Speaker 7: had Eat and Family.
- 48:09Speaker 2: Where are these rich ass people getting tick bites? Probably
- 48:12Speaker 2: Upstate New York and New York Nick super fan Ben Stiller?
- 48:17Speaker 4: Really?
- 48:18Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 48:18Speaker 5: Well, I have seen stuff like this.
- 48:21Speaker 6: There's a conspiracy out there where mysterious, unmarked helicopters are
- 48:25Speaker 6: dropping metal boxes full of ticks on people's private property farms.
- 48:29Speaker 6: There are videos on YouTube about it. I've also been
- 48:32Speaker 6: seeing it on on Instagram.
- 48:34Speaker 2: There's a conspiracy that involves Bill Gates being behind this
- 48:38Speaker 2: as well.
- 48:38Speaker 19: Well.
- 48:38Speaker 6: I thought it was like Monsanto, which just came out
- 48:41Speaker 6: with like a lime disease.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Want people to get lime disease so they can sell
- 48:45Speaker 2: them the cure.
- 48:46Speaker 5: I don't know. You got people crawling out of manholes
- 48:49Speaker 5: in New York.
- 48:50Speaker 8: This is great.
- 48:51Speaker 2: The conspiracy?
- 48:52Speaker 5: What chapter of revolutions?
- 48:54Speaker 2: Oh really, this gigantic global drug company is going to
- 48:57Speaker 2: make a couple bucks for curing lime disease. I don't
- 49:00Speaker 2: think they're doing that on purpose.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Maybe they are, who knows, I don't know. Yeah, yeah,
- 49:04Speaker 2: get rid of a tic check not to my knowledge.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Oh you'd know, okay, yeah, you'd know, because what happens, man,
- 49:11Speaker 2: is when you get the bite if you don't back
- 49:14Speaker 2: the thing out. Do you know the way you back
- 49:16Speaker 2: them out? You get light or a burnt match, Yeah,
- 49:20Speaker 2: a lit cigarette. Usually you put it right outside their
- 49:22Speaker 2: booty and they will that will back them out. But
- 49:24Speaker 2: sometimes that doesn't work right, and you can kill them
- 49:27Speaker 2: if you do that. And that's the worst thing because
- 49:29Speaker 2: then you gotta dig that head out of your skin.
- 49:31Speaker 2: And if it stays in there, and I had one
- 49:33Speaker 2: stay in and it was bad, dude. It got nasty
- 49:36Speaker 2: for a minute, man, until we got that out of
- 49:38Speaker 2: there and got some I got some ointment stuff on there.
- 49:40Speaker 2: It was pretty bad.
- 49:42Speaker 6: The worst is finding the male because the ticks that
- 49:47Speaker 6: you can see are the females.
- 49:50Speaker 5: The male ticks are the real small ones, really small.
- 49:53Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 49:54Speaker 6: Once had an infestation on my dog and the big
- 49:56Speaker 6: ticks you could find it was the little males, and
- 49:59Speaker 6: oh my god, what what misery?
- 50:01Speaker 2: And you don't have and you don't find until they
- 50:03Speaker 2: fill up. And then when they fill up they look
- 50:05Speaker 2: like blood pearls hanging on your dog and they're disgusting.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Got to eat those things. Yeah, they're terrible because it's
- 50:13Speaker 2: like vampires, man, Yeah, little vampires. But so you have ticks,
- 50:18Speaker 2: then you have a subset of ticks that give you
- 50:21Speaker 2: lime disease, and a subset of ticks that also give
- 50:25Speaker 2: you that disease where you can eat red meat, right,
- 50:28Speaker 2: and they're not. That's not the same lime. I don't think.
- 50:31Speaker 7: I think lime disease is different from the disease that
- 50:34Speaker 7: you can't eat. But either way, I want no part
- 50:39Speaker 7: of it. Just staying inside and I'm gonna play video games.
- 50:42Speaker 7: When the whole when that when the thing hit up north,
- 50:44Speaker 7: this guy made a video on Instagram. He goes, he's
- 50:46Speaker 7: holding this chicken. He goes, tick infestation, huh. And he
- 50:49Speaker 7: looked at his chicken. He goes, we don't have that problem.
- 50:51Speaker 7: To his chicken was just like stiring because they eat
- 50:53Speaker 7: them like ducks. Because we had them when we had
- 50:56Speaker 7: our ducks out there in Geneva. They you know when
- 50:59Speaker 7: we got them, you know, we we bought them I
- 51:02Speaker 7: want to say Grain, not Granger, but one of those
- 51:06Speaker 7: other places. I can't remember the name of it. But
- 51:09Speaker 7: we got it there. Tractors supply, yeah, tractors apply, right,
- 51:12Speaker 7: And we got them there. And as we were checking
- 51:13Speaker 7: out the lady. The lady said, you's got a tick
- 51:15Speaker 7: problem in your garden, and I said, no, we're just
- 51:17Speaker 7: I guess we're just getting these for pleasure. And I
- 51:19Speaker 7: was like, oh, what is that a thing you should
- 51:21Speaker 7: go like, Oh, yeah, everybody knows if you have if
- 51:23Speaker 7: you have ticks, or you have a yard where you
- 51:25Speaker 7: would to keep it free of ticks. You get chickens
- 51:27Speaker 7: or ducks or peacocks or whatever, and apparently they go
- 51:29Speaker 7: and find every damn one of them.
- 51:30Speaker 5: Awesomes are really good at it too.
- 51:32Speaker 7: Don't you hate when someone is telling you something you
- 51:35Speaker 7: obviously don't know, and they say everyone knows. I can't
- 51:39Speaker 7: stand it because obviously I don't know, so what you're
- 51:43Speaker 7: telling me?
- 51:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 51:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that the old wise tractor supply wisdom. I took
- 51:48Speaker 2: it though, but every one knows well.
- 51:50Speaker 6: Someone also texted us that lime disease is easily curable.
- 51:54Speaker 6: It's the nerve damage that isn't just catch it early
- 51:57Speaker 6: with heavy antibiotics alpha gale.
- 52:01Speaker 7: I think I know how to pronounce it. That's the
- 52:04Speaker 7: that's the red meat, or you can't eat the red meat.
- 52:06Speaker 7: I think my buddy had that chicken meat he said
- 52:10Speaker 7: he would eat he would. He would save it up
- 52:12Speaker 7: and he would have beef two times a year because
- 52:15Speaker 7: he knew it was going to get and make him sick,
- 52:17Speaker 7: but he loved it so much he just had to
- 52:19Speaker 7: deal with it. It was just like a real bad
- 52:20Speaker 7: upset stomach or something.
- 52:21Speaker 2: He said. He would just deal with it because he
- 52:22Speaker 2: loved beef so much, like you, I feel, just deal
- 52:26Speaker 2: with it right four seven four one text seven seven
- 52:30Speaker 2: zero three one. Emily the Movie Girls up next.
- 52:36Speaker 3: Good afternoon.
- 52:37Speaker 12: Colver Crew, a buddy of mine, got that chick disease
- 52:41Speaker 12: where you can't eat meat in your red meat anymore.
- 52:44Speaker 12: So he decided, instead of trying to fight with getting sick,
- 52:47Speaker 12: he'd just become a virgin.
- 52:49Speaker 8: Not eat not eat meat or or anything animal based.
- 52:55Speaker 8: That was his way. It didn't seem very happy now.
- 53:00Speaker 2: I think he meant mega both will also make you unhappy.
- 53:03Speaker 2: So it's gonna say, all right, well, welcome back to
- 53:05Speaker 2: the Jim Colbert Schog Real Radio one four point one.
- 53:08Speaker 2: I am Jim. There's deb Jack is here as well.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Let's do Emily the movie girl.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Her name is Emily, she likes movies. She's a girl.
- 53:20Speaker 1: It's time for Emily the Movie girl on the Jim
- 53:23Speaker 1: Colbert Show.
- 53:27Speaker 8: Your Own.
- 53:28Speaker 24: In my first time hearing the intro, I loved that.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Wow, You're absolutely welcome. Well, Emily joined us joined the
- 53:39Speaker 2: show about a month ago or so, then had to
- 53:41Speaker 2: have Memorial Day off and then last weekend off, So
- 53:43Speaker 2: we haven't seen you in a couple of weeks. Have
- 53:44Speaker 2: you been?
- 53:45Speaker 24: I have been amazing. I've seen so many movies.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Have you really?
- 53:48Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 53:49Speaker 2: And by the way, if you want to check out
- 53:50Speaker 2: Emily on our camera, you can do that. Jim Corburt
- 53:52Speaker 2: Live dot com or Real Radio dot FM slash watch.
- 53:54Speaker 2: She is currently on camera. You can you can check
- 53:56Speaker 2: her out. And she looks very you look very spring
- 53:58Speaker 2: summer today.
- 53:59Speaker 17: Oh thank you.
- 54:00Speaker 24: Yeah, I've got a little like romper on and I
- 54:03Speaker 24: had some errands to run, so.
- 54:05Speaker 2: That your air and material there around town?
- 54:08Speaker 24: Yeah, rapping around town?
- 54:10Speaker 2: All right, Well, you come in to review movies. Let's
- 54:12Speaker 2: get to it. What's been going on out there?
- 54:14Speaker 4: Okay?
- 54:14Speaker 23: Last time I was here, I talked about obsession and
- 54:17Speaker 23: I am going to talk about it again because it
- 54:19Speaker 23: is having a moment, it is continuing to have a moment,
- 54:22Speaker 23: and I saw an article recently. Now these numbers aren't
- 54:26Speaker 23: updated because of this last weekend of Fox office numbers,
- 54:30Speaker 23: but so far domestically it's sitting at over one hundred
- 54:35Speaker 23: and sixty six million, which is crazy.
- 54:38Speaker 2: What was the budget for this movie?
- 54:39Speaker 23: Seven and fifty k, so under a million dollars, under
- 54:44Speaker 23: a million, under a million.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Went to my daughter, went with my daughter's last Thursday
- 54:48Speaker 2: to go see trivia, right, go to go do trivia.
- 54:49Speaker 2: It was like a Thursday night and we talk about
- 54:52Speaker 2: movies and pop culture and stuff like that all the time.
- 54:54Speaker 2: And I said, they said, Dad, have you seen Obsession yet?
- 54:57Speaker 2: And I said no, and they just thok. The men went, girl, yeah,
- 55:01Speaker 2: I get on it, a girl, what are you doing?
- 55:04Speaker 2: They said? It was amazing, like amazing.
- 55:06Speaker 23: It's I've seen it twice. I'm literally seeing it a
- 55:09Speaker 23: third time tomorrow. And I never do that, especially not
- 55:12Speaker 23: with horror films. But what's crazy is not only has
- 55:15Speaker 23: it made so much money, but and this article was
- 55:19Speaker 23: talking about how it has gone up in the box office,
- 55:23Speaker 23: so obviously the first hold on, I need to get
- 55:25Speaker 23: my numbers. The first weekend it made seventeen million dollars,
- 55:28Speaker 23: which like that alone is hugely successful for a film
- 55:32Speaker 23: that wasn't even a million to make, and then the
- 55:35Speaker 23: second weekend it went up and made twenty four million.
- 55:39Speaker 23: That never happens for a film, right, It never goes up,
- 55:42Speaker 23: but usually tapers off and off and off as as
- 55:45Speaker 23: the weeks go on. And then the third weekend it
- 55:47Speaker 23: made even more at thirty two million dollars am and
- 55:51Speaker 23: then the fourth weekend it did taper off a little
- 55:53Speaker 23: bit with twenty seven million.
- 55:54Speaker 2: But still.
- 55:56Speaker 23: Apparently this has been unprecedented, not seen since et came
- 56:00Speaker 23: out in nineteen eighty two. No way, really, yeah, that
- 56:03Speaker 23: it has gone up in the box office.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Everywhere, just like the word of mouth made people want
- 56:08Speaker 2: to go see it more and more and more.
- 56:09Speaker 24: And I think people yearn for an original film.
- 56:13Speaker 23: Yeah, yeah, you know, And I think you're seeing a
- 56:16Speaker 23: breakout performance in indeed Navaretti. And it's a lot of
- 56:22Speaker 23: I hate to say nobody's but up and coming artists.
- 56:25Speaker 23: So but they still love to support that.
- 56:27Speaker 2: But doesn't that really almost kind of almost clear the
- 56:29Speaker 2: etch a sketch. In other words, if you don't have
- 56:31Speaker 2: a preconceived notion of what this actor is going to
- 56:33Speaker 2: be like or how they're going to create this, and
- 56:35Speaker 2: you're not judging that role against other roles an actor
- 56:38Speaker 2: that's been known for a long time, as I think
- 56:41Speaker 2: it's actually kind of a new fresh look at movie
- 56:44Speaker 2: making when you don't really know the castle that much.
- 56:46Speaker 2: And I'm experiencing that with a lot of these shows
- 56:48Speaker 2: that are on, Like I don't know half these actors,
- 56:50Speaker 2: but man, they're turning out some incredible stuff right now.
- 56:52Speaker 23: Yeah, I think there really is something to be said
- 56:54Speaker 23: about I understand producers want to want a movie or
- 56:58Speaker 23: a TV show to make money, but if a person's
- 57:01Speaker 23: right for the role, they're right for the role. You know,
- 57:03Speaker 23: it shouldn't just be your name. So I appreciate that,
- 57:06Speaker 23: you know, producers that are backing projects like this. Yeah, yeah,
- 57:10Speaker 23: So I just had to talk about that because if
- 57:12Speaker 23: you have not seen Obsession, you absolutely need to. It
- 57:16Speaker 23: is a little spooky, but I'm a scarity cat and
- 57:19Speaker 23: I was, Okay, wear some earplugs, you're fine.
- 57:22Speaker 2: A lot of people worry about the gore level, and
- 57:24Speaker 2: when they hear horror, they automatically believe it's going to
- 57:26Speaker 2: be a gore scenario. Is that is that the case
- 57:29Speaker 2: with this movie?
- 57:30Speaker 23: There is a little bit, but more towards the end,
- 57:33Speaker 23: and I've seen worse in teen shows, like if you've
- 57:36Speaker 23: seen Game of Thrones, that's way or some of what's
- 57:38Speaker 23: going on here. Yeah, and a lot of it is
- 57:40Speaker 23: like pretty campy. So I feel like it's removed enough
- 57:44Speaker 23: from reality that you're like, oh, well that's clearly not
- 57:48Speaker 23: you know X y Z, you know so. But yeah,
- 57:50Speaker 23: I just had to talk about obsession, and then since
- 57:53Speaker 23: we were talking about it earlier, I did also see
- 57:55Speaker 23: back Rooms, which is another huge horror film that has
- 57:59Speaker 23: like made a surgence a twenty four. Right, it's an
- 58:02Speaker 23: A twenty four film, and I can't remember where I
- 58:06Speaker 23: read this, but it is currently the highest opening weekend
- 58:10Speaker 23: film for a twenty four ever.
- 58:12Speaker 2: Yeah wow? Which is it made one hundred and twenty
- 58:15Speaker 2: four million globally on its open weekend. Yeah, this is
- 58:18Speaker 2: another movie that costs under ten million.
- 58:19Speaker 8: To make, No it was.
- 58:20Speaker 23: I think it was closer to twenty million really, but
- 58:23Speaker 23: that's still like Yeah, in as far as a feature
- 58:26Speaker 23: film goes a lot of like that seems like a
- 58:28Speaker 23: lot of money, it's really not, especially for a film
- 58:30Speaker 23: that's making as much money as it is. So I
- 58:33Speaker 23: think hopefully this gives producers enough leeway to and enough
- 58:37Speaker 23: incentive to give up and coming filmmakers backing to make
- 58:43Speaker 23: films like that.
- 58:44Speaker 7: Compared to Mandalorian, Groobu and Mandalorian that was what one
- 58:47Speaker 7: hundred and sixty million to make, and you know, you
- 58:51Speaker 7: have two movies that they've made for about twenty millions. A.
- 58:55Speaker 23: Yeah, But I what's interesting about Backrooms is the direct
- 59:00Speaker 23: It's King Parsons is his name. He was twenty years
- 59:03Speaker 23: old when he made the film, but he was part
- 59:06Speaker 23: of this, like it was this huge thing on YouTube
- 59:09Speaker 23: with it was like liminal spaces. So I never got
- 59:12Speaker 23: into that, but I do remember that being a thing
- 59:15Speaker 23: kind of like around COVID time, and it just became
- 59:19Speaker 23: this weird genre that happened over YouTube.
- 59:23Speaker 24: So I think that's really cool for.
- 59:24Speaker 23: One that this like weird phenomenon that happened online became
- 59:28Speaker 23: a feature film.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and how can they know? And it's hard to
- 59:31Speaker 2: replicate that because you have to wait for the thing
- 59:32Speaker 2: to hit. I just compare it to slender Man. Yeah,
- 59:35Speaker 2: because that kind of happened online. Then they tried to
- 59:37Speaker 2: translate that into a scary movie.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the because I've not seen an idea that
- 59:42Speaker 2: started online except for the Slender Man, and then made
- 59:45Speaker 2: it onto you know, the big Streen and this is
- 59:48Speaker 2: one of those things that did.
- 59:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:49Speaker 23: I I definitely didn't like this one as much as Obsession.
- 59:53Speaker 23: I think that's also just my personal taste in films.
- 59:56Speaker 23: But back Rooms, I still gave three and a half
- 1:00:00Speaker 23: of five stars because it is extremely unsettling. Yeah, and
- 1:00:04Speaker 23: this set design and production design, lighting, it really is
- 1:00:08Speaker 23: incredible what he did even with less than twenty million dollars.
- 1:00:12Speaker 24: So for that, I think it's totally worth to go see.
- 1:00:15Speaker 24: If where is your thing?
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Yeah, my daughter said that anxiety started seeing one and
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: never let up until the very end of the movie.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: It was just like it just build and build and
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: built and built and build up.
- 1:00:24Speaker 23: There are a couple of scenes that they do in this,
- 1:00:27Speaker 23: like first person POV where it's like kind of found footage.
- 1:00:30Speaker 23: Those scenes are incredible, Yeah, truly, like the hair.
- 1:00:35Speaker 24: I was on the edge of my seat.
- 1:00:37Speaker 23: I for that alone, I think it's worth to go
- 1:00:40Speaker 23: see in a theater, but again it's not for everybody.
- 1:00:43Speaker 23: I think the thing with liminal spaces is that once
- 1:00:46Speaker 23: you start trying to explain the thing, it's less scary.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with that one hundred percent because I
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: think the premise is just kind of wild. Just enjoy
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: the movie for what it is. I mean, the scenes
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: will creep you out enough and you'll get that thing
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: you need from the horror movies that you that it
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: will provide.
- 1:01:00Speaker 24: Yeah, yeah, But I mean overall, horror is having a moment.
- 1:01:03Speaker 17: You know.
- 1:01:03Speaker 23: I also talked about Hokum a few weeks ago, and
- 1:01:06Speaker 23: I know there's at least two or I think two
- 1:01:08Speaker 23: other films like Passenger, and then there was something else
- 1:01:10Speaker 23: I think that came out recently that I mean. It's
- 1:01:13Speaker 23: cool because horror usually doesn't get this much kind of
- 1:01:17Speaker 23: time in theaters, so it's really cool that obsession and
- 1:01:21Speaker 23: back room.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: It went from like the Jason and Freddie people into
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: a different genre. And then the latest genre I think
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: that we liked was was kind of the found footage.
- 1:01:28Speaker 24: Thing with in the Garwitch project and the.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Conjuring kind of ideas and things like that. The spooky, creepy,
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: spiritual stuff kind of had a moment there for about
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: five years, and it's kind of moved on to this now,
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: which is kind of cool what you got out there.
- 1:01:41Speaker 23: Well, Okay, I'm going to move on from spooky stuff.
- 1:01:44Speaker 23: But this is a film I think you might like.
- 1:01:48Speaker 23: I feel like it towards I.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Believing it now. It's been well, like we've been three times.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: Ye your roll in the dice kid, let's go. It's
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: a musical and they.
- 1:01:59Speaker 24: Call Dustin Hoffman is in it?
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, see that's a draw.
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: That's a draw.
- 1:02:07Speaker 23: I just feel like, okay, don't take this offensively. It's
- 1:02:09Speaker 23: a it's a movie my dad would like.
- 1:02:11Speaker 24: So it's like, okay, I think I think.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Immediately delete her intro this movie too, delete next person?
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Who else is what movie? I've actually seen some clips
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: from this, but I don't know anything about it.
- 1:02:30Speaker 23: Yeah, I didn't know anything else about it either other
- 1:02:33Speaker 23: than Dustin Hoffman and Leo Woodhall earn it. So it
- 1:02:37Speaker 23: follows this guy that works for a piano tuning company
- 1:02:40Speaker 23: and he has perfect pitch and then he also has
- 1:02:43Speaker 23: something else. It's like very sensitive hearing. So he wears
- 1:02:47Speaker 23: like these like ear plugs all the time, and he's
- 1:02:51Speaker 23: on he's on a house call. Oh ahead, cranky old man,
- 1:02:53Speaker 23: we're in the ear kind of but but it's so
- 1:02:57Speaker 23: Leo Woodell's character, he's younger guy like up and coming.
- 1:02:59Speaker 23: He's one that's really doing all the work. And then
- 1:03:01Speaker 23: Justin Hoffman's character is like, you know, should be retired,
- 1:03:04Speaker 23: but he's there and he's like yeah, like under his
- 1:03:07Speaker 23: wing sort of thing. But you know, this younger guy
- 1:03:09Speaker 23: ends up doing all the work for this like little
- 1:03:12Speaker 23: mom and pop place. But anyway, they're on a house
- 1:03:15Speaker 23: call and Leo Woodall's character stumbles on this like you know,
- 1:03:20Speaker 23: quote security team that's attempting to rob a safe in
- 1:03:24Speaker 23: his house, and he's like, listen, I don't want to
- 1:03:28Speaker 23: get in your business, but I can't do in this
- 1:03:29Speaker 23: piano with you guys like making all this noise. And
- 1:03:33Speaker 23: so they're like, okay, well, then open the lock and
- 1:03:35Speaker 23: we'll leave, and he does. He opens it immediately, and
- 1:03:38Speaker 23: they're like, wait, oh, so he can hear it because
- 1:03:41Speaker 23: of his he can he can hear the gears and
- 1:03:44Speaker 23: where it needs to go and stuff.
- 1:03:46Speaker 24: So they use that to their advantage.
- 1:03:49Speaker 23: They're like, hey, if you ever want to make real money,
- 1:03:51Speaker 23: you come with us, and they kind of take advantage
- 1:03:55Speaker 23: of him, but it ends up sort of becoming almost
- 1:03:57Speaker 23: this like heist film for music nerds because then he
- 1:04:01Speaker 23: also like starts his little romance with this musician and
- 1:04:04Speaker 23: that he like tunes her piano for. But I really
- 1:04:08Speaker 23: enjoyed it, and I think the the most prominent thing
- 1:04:12Speaker 23: was the sound design, which hopefully it would be for,
- 1:04:15Speaker 23: you know, for a movie called Tuoner. But I looked
- 1:04:17Speaker 23: up the the guy that did the sound design after
- 1:04:19Speaker 23: his name is Johnny Byrne, and these are just like
- 1:04:23Speaker 23: a few of the more notable things on his resume
- 1:04:26Speaker 23: that I just happened to glance twenty eight years later.
- 1:04:30Speaker 23: Oh nope, Hamnett, Pogonia, Poor Things, Wow, and Zone of Interest, which.
- 1:04:37Speaker 24: He won an Academy for.
- 1:04:41Speaker 20: That.
- 1:04:43Speaker 23: No, literally, I'm like wow, So, no wonder the sound
- 1:04:48Speaker 23: design hit because the way it's designed, you almost hear
- 1:04:52Speaker 23: what Lea Woodell's character is cool, like very sensitive.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: It's incredible, and the story's good.
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: I liked it.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 1:05:00Speaker 23: Yes, I gave it three and a half out of
- 1:05:01Speaker 23: five stars, which to me, that's that's a passing thing.
- 1:05:03Speaker 24: I would watch it, Yes, it is.
- 1:05:08Speaker 10: It may soup.
- 1:05:08Speaker 23: It's like limited because you know, it didn't really get
- 1:05:12Speaker 23: any marketing.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: I didn't even hear about it until right now. Yeah,
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: doesn't anymore. I guess well.
- 1:05:19Speaker 24: And also he's barely in the movie. Ye, like it's
- 1:05:22Speaker 24: you know, but I really enjoyed it.
- 1:05:25Speaker 23: So yeah, if you're ever looking on something to watch
- 1:05:28Speaker 23: and it's still in theaters, totally catch Tuner.
- 1:05:31Speaker 24: I really enjoyed it.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Do you take notes during a movie?
- 1:05:35Speaker 24: I try not to. However, I am hopefully starting a podcast.
- 1:05:40Speaker 23: I haven't like, I'm not going to officially any like
- 1:05:42Speaker 23: announce anything yet, but I'm working on a podcast that
- 1:05:46Speaker 23: will hopefully be starting up soon, and I do plan
- 1:05:49Speaker 23: on hopefully taking notes then. I just don't want to
- 1:05:53Speaker 23: be disruptive to any other people's experience in the theater.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: I think reviewers do that though, right well, especially during
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: the premieeres. I mean, we've gone through a couple of
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: premieres here in town, and we've seen the people from
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: the Sentinel and the Weekly and other places there. You know,
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: they're you know, bloggers or whatever that are there and
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: they're taking their notes. They got their little there, a
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: little light that they use to take their notes and stuff.
- 1:06:14Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:06:14Speaker 23: I've even thought about, like if I were to do
- 1:06:16Speaker 23: it on my phone, get you know, one of those
- 1:06:18Speaker 23: like privacy screens. That way, it's less disruptive for other people.
- 1:06:21Speaker 23: But yeah, I because I try to basically as soon
- 1:06:24Speaker 23: as I'm done, you know. Like I said, I go
- 1:06:25Speaker 23: in into letterbox and put in my reviews, but I'll
- 1:06:28Speaker 23: usually write down some of my immediate thoughts.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Very nice. You got a streaming choice versus week?
- 1:06:32Speaker 23: Yeah, there's one that just came out. I haven't seen
- 1:06:35Speaker 23: it yet, but I'm gonna. I'm gonna plug a wrong
- 1:06:38Speaker 23: a rom com because we have to bring the rom
- 1:06:41Speaker 23: com back.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Guy, I do?
- 1:06:43Speaker 14: I do?
- 1:06:43Speaker 24: They are like comfort films for me.
- 1:06:45Speaker 7: I agree with that he's been on a horror streak
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: for a while and she has as the rental Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:52Speaker 7: you need to palette pleanser R.
- 1:06:56Speaker 23: But the one I'm gonna hopefully watch this week is
- 1:06:58Speaker 23: Office Romance. It has Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein in
- 1:07:02Speaker 23: it from Ted Lasso. It's on Netflix, and it just
- 1:07:06Speaker 23: seems sort of like an enemy's to lovers. I don't
- 1:07:09Speaker 23: really love Jennifer Lopez, but like I said, I want
- 1:07:13Speaker 23: to support a rom com, so I'll probably watch it
- 1:07:15Speaker 23: sometime this week and then if you do want something sperce.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: What I don't know, who knows what she's doing? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: no way, no, there's no way. Okay, then maybe it
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: was just from the say no way, there's no trust me,
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: there's a way. You can't throw anything out of j
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Loo's path geas. I guess.
- 1:07:33Speaker 24: I just think Brett Goldstein is too good of a person,
- 1:07:39Speaker 24: very careful.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: You never forget that, booty. Maybe maybe maybe man can
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: figure his way out around that personality.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: I go.
- 1:07:47Speaker 23: The other streaming film I had written down here. It
- 1:07:50Speaker 23: came out a couple of weeks ago, but it's on
- 1:07:52Speaker 23: HBO Max. It's Bride. So it was the remake of
- 1:07:56Speaker 23: Brida Frankenstein, which I saw in theaters and it was
- 1:08:00Speaker 23: not greaty, but it really had like some people really
- 1:08:05Speaker 23: really loved it, and I love that it took a
- 1:08:07Speaker 23: swing and aesthetically, I really I thought it was great,
- 1:08:12Speaker 23: but the story just wasn't there for me.
- 1:08:15Speaker 24: But hey, you know, you might like it at home, so.
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: I don't like it on your lap.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: We know you love movies. Do you also watch episodic
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: shows as well?
- 1:08:28Speaker 24: Sometimes? Yeah, I get through, I go through spurts.
- 1:08:30Speaker 23: I'm really bad about watching something not all the way through,
- 1:08:35Speaker 23: but like as it's airing, like Stranger Things, I don't
- 1:08:38Speaker 23: think I got until end of season two and then
- 1:08:40Speaker 23: I bing shit and then I was keeping up with it.
- 1:08:42Speaker 23: Like White Lotus, I will watch every week as that
- 1:08:45Speaker 23: comes out.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: That's so funny. I did the exact same thing with
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: White Loatus. Watched the first season every and thought it
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: was brilliant. Watch three episodes of the second seasons that
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 1:08:54Speaker 24: I mean, nothing beats the first season. Yeah, good, it's amazing.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: It was so much fun.
- 1:08:59Speaker 23: Yeah yeah, But I mean, are there any that you recommend?
- 1:09:02Speaker 23: Because I'm watching the second season of Rivals right now.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you what's wild man?
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: Is?
- 1:09:06Speaker 17: Uh?
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: Is the ones that I've watched, which is Widows Bay,
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: which is on Apple Apple TV, and the other one
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: was it Well, both of these are kind of horror ish.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: What was the other one? Guys, Widows Borrows and the Boroughs. Yeah,
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: a lot of people it's wild though, Right, So you
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: watch like three episodes of it, You're like, okay, I
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: get the idea, and then dude that it's always it's
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: always the fourth episode and it just goes off. You're like,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: what hold on? Is this what this is doing?
- 1:09:34Speaker 17: Now?
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: So I've loved both of the both of the shows.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: But man, they just they just took you somewhere where
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: it's like, damn, is this what we're doing now? Is
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: this where we are? And it started off as this
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: move this show, and then by the last episode you're like,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: good lord, what a ride that was. But they were
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: they were both kind of entertaining fun.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: Are they both on Netflix Apple TV for the Widow's
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Bay and I think the other one is on Netflix
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: the Okay, And they're pretty hot right now, but somebody
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: shows around By the.
- 1:10:01Speaker 7: Way, thanks to Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show, when
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: had the opportunity pressed Brett Goldstein and j Lo about
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: their rumored Austream romance and they have said they are
- 1:10:14Speaker 7: not dating.
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: Dramas.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Are you excited about Christopher Nolans the movie?
- 1:10:26Speaker 24: And also yes, I got my tickets weekends.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: And then how about full disclosure Disclosure Disclosure Day?
- 1:10:33Speaker 24: Yes, I also have my tickets for that. I'm seeing
- 1:10:36Speaker 24: that this weekend.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Where are you in the UFO world? Where are you
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: in that world? Where where does alien? Yeah, like all
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: that stuff, Where are you falling that?
- 1:10:43Speaker 24: I'm open to it?
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: Are you?
- 1:10:45Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:10:45Speaker 23: I'm not like full conspiracy, but I definitely think there's
- 1:10:48Speaker 23: life beyond.
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: Have you been seeing any of the interviews with Steven
- 1:10:51Speaker 7: Spielberg about this, He's done trying to pretend like he
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: doesn't believe.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: I think my work speaks for itself.
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: Any close Encounters of the Third Kid, this is really
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: what kicked it all off.
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: And he says, this is kind of like answering that
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: this is, you know, another chapter of that where what
- 1:11:10Speaker 7: he started back.
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: Then, which is creepy when you think about it, right
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: fifty years that's.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: A movie that I will see you when it's in
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: theaters immediately. I will go see the Yan. I want
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: to see that one as well.
- 1:11:21Speaker 24: That's exciting.
- 1:11:22Speaker 23: I mean a Steven Spielberg film, you know, even if
- 1:11:25Speaker 23: it's mid I I don't think it will be I
- 1:11:27Speaker 23: think this is going.
- 1:11:28Speaker 24: To be great.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: But it's wild. You say that, though, because I have
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: to tell you when eight millimeters came out right and
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: eight millimeters was also was it eight millimeters or no?
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Wasn't What The Train about Him is a young film? Directly? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: was it eight millimeter? Wait no, no, no that was
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: oh no no, that was a snuff film with las case.
- 1:11:49Speaker 24: It starts with an F. It's like wait the Fableman's.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Thea okay, is when when he was young, that was
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: his childhood growing up.
- 1:11:58Speaker 24: That one you're thinking of.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Six milimeters, sixteen millimeter, it was eight milimes.
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: It was eight millimeter.
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: Is Private Detective Nicholas Cage has a normal life with
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: his wife.
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: Oh, by the way, that movie South, Yeah, that's such
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: all of his well, most of his movie suck on.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Nicholas Cage. Sorry, what do you think about National Treasure?
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: It's pretty good, I mean, but okay, it's a it's
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: a theater rump. But I mean, if you want a stuff,
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: you got to go back to his stuff with the
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Super eight, the Coen Brothers, Yes, Super This Stielberg movie
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: with The Trade where he was like a young filmmaker
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: and see that movie was another alien movie. And this
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: guy's been making these movies trying to kind of I
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: get the feeling the Spielberg knows something and he's trying
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: to tip us off without saying anything because he didn't know.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: He doesn't want to get waxed by the government.
- 1:12:44Speaker 7: And he's telling every interviewer that he wants to be
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: the emissary when we finally make contact, And how does
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: the guy.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Who is eighty still looks like he's thirty eight. The
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Steven Spielberg. Let's he makings What's wrong.
- 1:12:57Speaker 8: With your tiev?
- 1:12:57Speaker 24: That's great for his age.
- 1:12:59Speaker 8: Let me eight.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: Say he hasn't changed a whole bunch. It looks exactly
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: the same to me.
- 1:13:05Speaker 24: Maybe the filmmaking is keeping him yet.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe so, Jean, what you'll love?
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: So what do we have coming up next week?
- 1:13:11Speaker 23: Okay, Well, I'm definitely going to talk about Disclosure Day,
- 1:13:14Speaker 23: and then I also want to talk about power Ballad
- 1:13:16Speaker 23: next week. I actually saw it a couple of days ago,
- 1:13:18Speaker 23: but I want to save it for next week just
- 1:13:20Speaker 23: because it'll be coming out closer to Father's Day and
- 1:13:23Speaker 23: I think it'll be.
- 1:13:24Speaker 24: Really good Father's Day power Ballot.
- 1:13:26Speaker 11: Yeah you've never heard of this nor Yeah, that's why
- 1:13:30Speaker 11: I'm the movie girl, the movie Girls.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: She'll be back with us next Monday. Always where can
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: you find you online? For some of the suggestions and stuff, can.
- 1:13:44Speaker 24: Follow me on letterbox to m retroreels.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: M retro reels.
- 1:13:48Speaker 24: Always good seeing you, thank you, thank you having me all.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: Right for seven nine four one text us at seven
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: seven serratory went back in a second with more of
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: the gym Colbert shows, stay put, don't please clarify it
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: for me.
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: I thought the gas prices are going down because they're
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: doping the gasoline with five percent more ethanol, making everything
- 1:14:06Speaker 7: fifteen percentthanol.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Which is bad for older vehicles. I thought that's why
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: gas prices are going down, not because of the stupid
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: thing that's hoping that's happening over there.
- 1:14:19Speaker 21: Yeah, that's a myth about using a cigarette or a
- 1:14:22Speaker 21: lighter to get a tick out, because what could happen
- 1:14:24Speaker 21: is that if you touch their back their backside, they
- 1:14:28Speaker 21: could regurgitate the stuff that's in their stomach, which is
- 1:14:31Speaker 21: all the nasty stuff you don't want in your bloodstream.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: So don't do that.
- 1:14:35Speaker 8: The best thing is to go to a doctor if possible.
- 1:14:40Speaker 17: Man.
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: I don't know anybody's going to a dog or for
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: a tig. But I guess.
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: Who's got that kind of money?
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, a thousand dollars to the all, but yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: rip that out out of your deductible, right. I got
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: to take COSM thirty one a welcome back on Jim.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: There's deb hello and Jack's ear as well. Yeah yeah, man,
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: we just I guess the last time I had one,
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: my wife just pulled it out, described it with a
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: pair of tweezers and just pulled it out real slow
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: by putting in then put pressure behind, like if you
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: had a like a splinter, got you put the pressure
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: behind where you think the splinter is, and a kind
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: of squeeze as you pull, just to make sure that
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: head doesn't stand there. Then if it does, you just
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: gotta you gotta lance yourself a little bit, and you
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: gotta reach in there and grab it. Yeah, I mean
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: you have to me. You got you gotta reach in
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: there and grab it. Yeah, you do. Man. You put
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: a little topical like lighting cade or something like that
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: on top of your skin, or or a gel work.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Sometimes it'll give you a little numbing there and then
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: you can just kind of cut it out of there
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: in a big deal. Just wash it out with peroxide
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: or alcohol and off you go. Put some dirt in it,
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: that's right, Just rub some dirt in it. You don't
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: want to tack in here four seven nine four one
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: text us at seven seven zero three one. Hey, why
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: you so Universal announce that they're opening up a a
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: park in I guess England. CBS R Comcast NBC Universal
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: announced Wednesday. This was last Wednesday.
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: That the name for Universal Destinations and Experiences. It's their
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: first theme park in Europe. It's called Universal United Kingdom Resort.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: It's gonna be in Bedford, UK. Where's that in relation
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: to like London? I look it up.
- 1:16:14Speaker 7: I remember they actually revealed that this was gonna be
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: the location. I guess they reveal more information like nine
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: months ago, almost a year ago.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: And yeah, just forty five minutes outs out of London.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: It says a silver several immersive lands. Yeah, with innovative
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: attractions and story driven experiences alongside five hundred room hotel
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: and retail. I guess it's just going to be like
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: a smaller version of what we have here. The one
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: thing I do not understand, like is this, so there
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: is a Disney in Paris? In Paris? Right? Does it
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: do well?
- 1:16:48Speaker 8: Oh? I believe so?
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Does it?
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Because I never understood like, if you want people coming
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: to the States to visit your park that's only available
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: in the US, why would you build one there?
- 1:16:57Speaker 6: Well, you put in the attractions that you can only
- 1:16:59Speaker 6: get at there, But if you want to experience certain attractions,
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: you can only get them here, So.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: What would the attractions be in the Paris Disney or
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: the Paris It's Paris Disney, right, yeah, yeah, what would
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: they have that we wouldn't have here, like because I
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: know that in California we have some of the similar
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: rides from California that we have here, or vice versa.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: They started there and then came here, right, But I
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: never kind of understood why they built theme parks in
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: other countries when the goal is to have people leave
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: those countries and come to our country and spend money
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: at the parks here, which has been the normal thing.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: And you don't ever hear anything about Disneyland. They've governed
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: in Tokyo as well, right.
- 1:17:38Speaker 7: Yeah, Disney's goal is to make money regardless of where
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: their castle is planted.
- 1:17:46Speaker 5: So if you can't make it to the States, but
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: you can, you can you live in Tokyo.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Well, there obviously must be enough evidence there that Universal
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: is dropping a whole bunch of money to build one,
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: because obviously it works because they're building it there. I
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: just I never understood the nature of that because it
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: just seems like, look, if you have everything here, your
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: infrastructure is here. But I guess also, you know, you.
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: We get what a great advertisement for here though.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I completely understand that, and I know it,
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: and here we do get you know, they get they
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: get shut out a lot of times. In other words,
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: you know, the park is completely packed in the busy seasons,
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: usually by what eleven o'clock in the morning.
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: Yeah, what's the goal in any corporate or publicly traded
- 1:18:27Speaker 7: business you have? You always have to sell more, do more. Yeah,
- 1:18:31Speaker 7: you're gonna have growth. Disneyland Paris is the Europe's premier
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: tourist attraction, considered highly successful and the largest single site
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: employer in France. WOW attracts roughly fifteen million visitors annually.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: Dan. That is a lot, generating billions in revenue.
- 1:18:53Speaker 17: Dan.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: That's great. Yeah, for some reason, because we never hear
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: about it, right, We never hear about Disneyland Paris. We
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: never hear about Disneyland, Disneyland Tokyo. And I mean I'm
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: not saying that we should on a daily basis, but
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: I mean here in Florida we get news about the
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: parks all the time. Actually, in the US, you get
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: news about the parks all the time because there's such
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: a massive draw. But we never hear about those, But
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: I guess that's the design right. There'd be no reason
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: for us. You wouldn't travel to Europe and go to Disney,
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: would you? Oh?
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: Oh, would you really? Kid Scott who works Therry, he
- 1:19:24Speaker 7: went to Japan. Yeah, in Tokyo.
- 1:19:27Speaker 8: Is that where the Disney is? Yeah?
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he went there to go to that. Wow, that's crazy.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: Like I guess just to experience what their vision of
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: the Disney product would look like.
- 1:19:36Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, some things are the same, somethings are different. Yeah.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: To me, that would be like going to Disney and
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: having McDonald's. I mean, are going to Paris and having McDonald's,
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: Like that would be my thing. It's like you have
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: all the like it's like to me, like, you know,
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: one of the reasons it's kind of whilden we go
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: on these cruise ships, Like we're surrounded by beaches in Florida.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: We see beaches all the time. Why go to the Caribbean.
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: But you know, we don't go because of that. We
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: go because of the experience on the ship. So that
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: would be like my thing.
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: When I'm on the chip, I'm also going to go
- 1:20:00Speaker 7: to the beach and if I'm there, I wouldn't mind.
- 1:20:03Speaker 7: You know it's not gonna be every meal, but maybe
- 1:20:06Speaker 7: experiencing a McDonald's in another country you.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: Would do that.
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: Oh, it's fascinating, it's different.
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: What's so different? How can it be different?
- 1:20:13Speaker 16: No?
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: Donause.
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: You remember the video that we did for what you
- 1:20:15Speaker 6: Do That's New when they went and ate at the
- 1:20:17Speaker 6: McDonald's and they had like those mustardy sausages sandwiches.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: It was like, what the hell?
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I know other countries you have specialties,
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: but I think isn't the main menu pretty much the same?
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: No, it's not.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: Well, I know cultural differences, like if they had one
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: in Arab nations they can't do certain things right, and
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: but I don't. Is it really like? Yeah, that's wild.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: You know what they call a quarter pounder in a friend?
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: So nice? Anytime you can get the pulp fiction bit
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: in Oh, it's my favorite movie? All right? Four oh
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: seven nine one six one o four one. You can
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: always text us at seven seven zero three one if
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: you don't leave a talk back, you could do that
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: as well. Describe the iHeartRadio app go right to you
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: real radio and uh and send us over something interesting.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: So there is a new wave in prostitution, a new
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: wave in prostitution, and I'm gonna tell you what it
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: is next. I'm gonna give you both at least a
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: guess to see if you can figure it out. And
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: I got money that you can. And it's on Kuchi
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: right now, all right, back in a second.
- 1:21:21Speaker 20: Yeah, in all these big cities, there's plenty of people
- 1:21:23Speaker 20: to fill them all up. So all these companies are
- 1:21:27Speaker 20: building parks around the world. And Disney has two in Tokyo.
- 1:21:31Speaker 20: One's called Tokyo Disney C's and it's completely different than
- 1:21:34Speaker 20: any other park. It's also the most amazing and the
- 1:21:38Speaker 20: most expensive park I think for its size.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: Hey, guys, on that Disney topic, each country that has
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: a Disneyland property, those are privately owned. They're not owned
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: by the same company that owns Walt Disney World or
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: Disneyland in California. But with that, you guys are right too.
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: Each park has its own separate rides for the most part,
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: and each castle is different. So like California has Frog
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: and Toad to all the Adventure, Harris has Crushes, Turtle
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: Coast or whatever. Japan has a Beautiful Beauty in the
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: Beast ride. Each one's different.
- 1:22:11Speaker 10: That way.
- 1:22:13Speaker 15: Man, I'm on pins and needles now for Jimmy to
- 1:22:15Speaker 15: tell me how to properly wave to get prostitutes these days,
- 1:22:18Speaker 15: because I've never been successful, not one time, waving at
- 1:22:21Speaker 15: anybody and getting a prostitute.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: It's a way different, buddy.
- 1:22:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: By the way, we had a lot of text about
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: that whole theme party that's crazy about how the food
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: is different and certain areas and certain nations. Of course
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: we know it is, but I thought there was always
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: a basist menu that was pretty much the US menu,
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: because I would think that's why you would want to
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: try it right the whole They're in the fascination with
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: Western culture and what we do here, especially in Asian nations.
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: For some reason, they go crazy. Japan is crazy about
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Americans and crazy about our culture and when you go there.
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: But I know that there's some of the stuff that's
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: way different, but I always thought that there was like
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: like the Big Mac will be the same, for the
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Whopper will be the same, and then you know they
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: can make some morphing elsewhere a bit. Oh yeah, the
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: core menu and whatever that chain is famous for is
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: kind of what they're offering. But they delve into the
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: cultural specialties. And that's why I would be interested in
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: going to a McDonald's in another country or yeah, Kentucky
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: franc chack chaste for what is different? So I can
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: come back and say, hey, you know what I ate
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: one of those in Germany?
- 1:23:27Speaker 6: I had actually one of the best Hawaiian pizzas ever
- 1:23:29Speaker 6: in a Brazilian pizza hunt.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Did you really?
- 1:23:31Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: How crazy is that? Somebody brought up Brazil a minute ago.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: It says Hawaiian McDonald's has spam and rice for breakfast. Yep,
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: let's see if you ever tried coca cola around the
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: world that tastes around the world are way different. One
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: of McDonald's has a lot of chicken burgers because a
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: lot of Arab people live there, and I guess they
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: don't eat beef. I did not know that. I went
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: to Portugal. We ate burger king, we ate steak and shake,
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: and we had coffee at Starbucks. They all taste very
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: different from America.
- 1:24:00Speaker 6: We went to the McDonald's in Hong Kong and Vietnam.
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: They had spaghetti, fried chicken, all kinds of different menuato chicken.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: All right, welcome back on Jim, there's deb hello here.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: As well. I'm not sure what that is. I don't either,
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: I'm not I don't.
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: Want to like Filipino right where they do a lot
- 1:24:17Speaker 6: they have like that spaghetti dish. Yeah, yeah, maybe with
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: pieces of fried chicken in it.
- 1:24:22Speaker 8: So who knows.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: All right, there's a new wave in the escort business
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: and it actually kind of an interesting turn in the
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: world of escort. Now let me just ask you guys
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: real quick before we get into this. Now, when you
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: think of the word escort, like, what do you think,
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: because we're not talking about like hookers, right, these are escorts, okay,
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: Epstein file Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, no.
- 1:24:45Speaker 17: Uh.
- 1:24:46Speaker 7: Escort is when you you hire a woman. That I
- 1:24:50Speaker 7: mean the idea, hire a woman to go to an
- 1:24:53Speaker 7: event with you and then maybe later I think when
- 1:24:57Speaker 7: you get I would agree. I would think like sex
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: guaranteed with an escort, like it's a prostitute. But an
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: escort is more than just a sex date.
- 1:25:06Speaker 20: Uh.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: An escort will go to a film, maybe go to
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: a show with you or play or something like that.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: She escorts you somewhere, yes exactly, or you yes, she's
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: escorting you to It's.
- 1:25:16Speaker 6: Like in Fargo, right where they go to see engelbird humperdink,
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: oh yeah yeah yeah.
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: So with that said, I mean, what do you think
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: the new like? And I would always think that maybe
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: a little bit more presentable than your normal kind of prostitute, right, classier, yeah,
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: a little classier, right, these are these are women that
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: kind of look like they have their s together, but
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: they're still escorts that you could be you be seen
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: with at a higher end event. They take good care
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: of themselves, they dress quite well. You know, what do
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: you think could have changed when it comes to escort?
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: What what group of people do you think now are
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: acquiring a different kind of escort? Now, look, these women
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: are still getting paid top dollars. When I tell you,
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: some of the numbers are gonna trip out. But there's
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: a specific thing that they have that other escorts will
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: not have, and people are paying gigantic money to be
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: with it. Penis, No, that's so close, not close at all.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: I'm confused by the premise and the question with our
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: answer exactly, Well, they have something, right, Yeah, in other words,
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: you're talking about like a trans thing.
- 1:26:21Speaker 6: Well, no, I was just there there. I can't imagine
- 1:26:24Speaker 6: what else they're I mean bilingual.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: Okay, so let me ask you this, like, what is
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: the biggest growing industry in the world right now? Weed?
- 1:26:32Speaker 17: AI?
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: AI is the answer, right? Oh, men in Silicon Valley, right,
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: These guys who are these AI engineers, these directors don't
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: want women who don't know anything about their business. The
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: newest niche in on the West Coast for prostitutes or
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: for escorts is having knowledge of computers, having knowledge of technology.
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: Well, there's a comfort station. I'm sure she wasn't preparing
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: to exist.
- 1:27:02Speaker 7: That's exactly what's happening. Yeah, because the escort part of
- 1:27:07Speaker 7: it is more than just showing up and being seen.
- 1:27:11Speaker 7: There's conversation.
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: Not only that.
- 1:27:14Speaker 6: If she doesn't know anything about the computing world or
- 1:27:17Speaker 6: AI and this person takes her to an event, he's outed,
- 1:27:21Speaker 6: he's kind of outed as to the fact that this
- 1:27:23Speaker 6: is an escort and not really someone he just met
- 1:27:25Speaker 6: at a conference.
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: It's as a small but lucrative class of so called
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: nerd first escorts is crushing it and cashing in on
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: the tech industry's wealth explosion by marketing themselves as intellectually
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: curious companions who can match clients' obsession with AI, cryptocurrency, longevity,
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: and other futurist pursuits. Now before you think about this,
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: like because nerds have taken it in the face all
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: their lives, right, Oh no, those are the ones with
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: the money. How much do you think a fell gates
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: how much do you think this is the girl that
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: they have that this girl, the specific girl using for
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: this story. How much do you think she makes per hour?
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: And then how much do you think it costs to
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: have her around for a day? Do the per hour
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: first thousand dollars an hour, fifteen hundred six thousand dollars
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: an hour, or twenty three thousand dollars for the day
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: if you want to hang out with her. And by
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: the way, the ones who do it say that they
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: rarely they do have sex with them, but it isn't
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: the number one thing. Dudes want to talk to girls
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: who are cute, who know this stuff. It's a turn
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: on to them, it's and they're crushing it is that
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: this this They're only a handful of escorts operating in
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: this niche, but some are commanding rates that dwarf those
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: of people who are doing this, even in high end
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: business levels, Like even when you're talking about people who
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: are very discreet, who work with CEOs and dignitaries who
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: are able to give them the sexual pleasure they want
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: without the drama of having any of it come public.
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: These guys are completely different. This check used to be
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: a finance worker, and she told she she pivoted to
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: escorting after wondering how AI might eventually affect her career prospects.
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: And then when she got in there, she started kind
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: of noticing that there is a great shortage for these
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: men who spend all of their lives, you know, just
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: basically on tech and figuring out stuff and how it works.
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: And like we've talked about this one hundred times. I mean,
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: they're just kind of very lonely because they don't really
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: have any game. All their game is wrapped up in
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: their career, and these girls pretty much can speak that language,
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: and therefore they are crushing it. I would call it
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: a nerd first approach. She's an escort and an online
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: personality known for applying data analysis to her work. Even
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: as an escort, It says they often men are working
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: directly with AI sector, including employees and companies benefiting from
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: the industry's rapid growth. Is posting about AI works. If
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: you're a hot girl. You go online, if this is
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: in your game, you start posting about it. Those dudes
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: who are responding to your posts, those are the people
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: who your clients. And they have ass loads of money
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: because they got nothing to spend it on. They're kind
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: of nerdy. They're not out there, you know, but they're
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: just holding that money. They got no time to got
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: no time to do anything. They charged a thousand at
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: the high end, and several women were reported to charge
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: between thirty five hundred and six thousand an hour. Huh nothing,
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: got a coupon. It says the girls who charge the
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: highest rates aren't the hottest girls. They're the girls who
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: are the cutest and the smartest, and you get the
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: reputation of having somebody that's very smart, and they want
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: to have those conversations. It says the AI wealth has
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: created this growing pool of potential customers and tech workers
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: who receive stock windfalls or startup fortunes are increasingly seeking
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: a companionship that feels more personal than dating apps and
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: more authentic than AHI chat bots, and it says that
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: many of the clients are less interested in sex than
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: extended conversations about the future technology in life.
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: That's so funny there.
- 1:30:57Speaker 6: They're not interested in the sex, They're more in from
- 1:31:00Speaker 6: the conversation, which you're still paying six. Just meet someone
- 1:31:06Speaker 6: in the commissary that maybe you know she also works
- 1:31:09Speaker 6: there and you also work there. Maybe just start with
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: lunch that costs like maybe twenty five bucks.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: It says there was some sex in between, but most
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: of the time it was just playful, nice conversation.
- 1:31:19Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: She this was an overnight meeting with a client.
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: Others described they may be smart with computers.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Says here are. Others describe relationships that involved in recurring
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: arrangements involving travel, luxury experiences, and extended time together. It's
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: you know, but you know what it is. I mean,
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: she's basically, you know, a call girl. But the fact
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: is that she's smart, she's she knows the tech, she's
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: you know, and I gotta tell you the picture she
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: shows of her, I mean, she isn't like, oh, I mean,
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: she's not like that cute, but she you know, she
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: does have a good body, but she's not that cute.
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: But it doesn't matter. These guys really aren't even looking
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: for that. They're looking simply for a girl who can
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: talk to them. About this stuff and it doesn't seem
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: and and the and have the girl not look down
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: on the guy.
- 1:32:01Speaker 6: Somebody just texted us. In other words, dudes with more
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: money than sense.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Right exactly.
- 1:32:05Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:32:07Speaker 7: One thing it tells me is how much money there
- 1:32:09Speaker 7: really is in the tech industry. Yeah, you can burn
- 1:32:12Speaker 7: through that, you know, expense of a call girl, but
- 1:32:18Speaker 7: without the sex. All of that is legal, yes, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:32:25Speaker 7: so they can say it's and so that's easier to
- 1:32:28Speaker 7: sell because that's what you're paying for. And then if
- 1:32:32Speaker 7: sex happens between two consenting adults, that's the other thing.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: It's just that quid pro quote you have to avoid.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: How about the last line in the story being horrifying
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: you're ready quote quote in the future being able to
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: afford human contact and to afford settings where there is
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: a genuine human contact that will wind up being the
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: ultimate luxury.
- 1:32:53Speaker 7: Ironically for people developing AI and in our official world,
- 1:32:59Speaker 7: it is so crazy, right, I mean you think about
- 1:33:01Speaker 7: what that person said, like, eventually human contact, genuine authentic
- 1:33:06Speaker 7: human contact.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: Will be a luxury according to these people who developed
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: this AI. And by the way, these are people who
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: are weaning themselves off chatbots. He says it right in
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: the article. Is it basically these people are saying this
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: is way better in a chatbot? Is the chat button?
- 1:33:19Speaker 19: Do that?
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: Boobs?
- 1:33:22Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, exactly. It's so crazy.
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: Hey, hold on, six thousand dollars an hour, I do it.
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: We all know that you would do it in a heartbeat. Jimmy, No,
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: I would sell. I wouldn't buy the get them feed
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: on only fans now. I would never pay get out
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: of here. I'd never pay for companionship.
- 1:33:41Speaker 8: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:33:41Speaker 5: That that you like, if you were a woman, you'd
- 1:33:43Speaker 5: be you'd be heels up already.
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: Oh I don't know about all that. Yeah, idea, you
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: could be only nerdst Oh there you go. You should
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: copyright it immediately. Let's go, all right? Seven to seven
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: zero three one back in a second.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: Still to come, Legal stories and more with Ray tread
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: to leave from Tklaw today at six twenty on the
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: Juke Covert.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: Show, What Up Guys Support from duvont Jimmy.
- 1:34:09Speaker 22: We went to the Dominican Republic a few years ago
- 1:34:12Speaker 22: and my daughter begged us to go to McDonald's while
- 1:34:15Speaker 22: we were there, so we did.
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: They had fried chicken and chicken wings.
- 1:34:20Speaker 8: That there's damn McDonald's.
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: And it was some good ass chicken too, by the way, man.
- 1:34:25Speaker 8: Everything else was all the burgers were kind of the same.
- 1:34:27Speaker 8: They didn't have French fries. They had yuka, so we
- 1:34:30Speaker 8: had yuka, but they had chicken wings and fried chicken.
- 1:34:34Speaker 8: McDonald and Dominican Baby.
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: Did not. We were in the Dominican a couple of
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: years ago and did not go to McDonald's. That's because
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: he didn't leave the resort. We did not leave the resort,
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: but we didn't see one in the airport either. But
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: even if we would have, we definitely would not have stopped.
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: And what we learned about the Dominican or is it
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Jamaica who has a who takes pride in their KFC's
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: that Jamaica does. Definitely Jamaica. We didn't know that until
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: we mentioned that on there, and then boy we had
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: a yeah, they I get them there. I like it.
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: I haven't had it a year.
- 1:35:08Speaker 17: I have not.
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: I couldn't even tell you the last time I've had
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: anything from Kentucky Fried Chicken. It's been at least ten years,
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: at least that long.
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: I'm here for that extra crispy I want the mashed
- 1:35:22Speaker 7: potatoes with gravy, I want the biscuit, and I want
- 1:35:24Speaker 7: the coast law.
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: Let's go, dude. I don't know about you guys, but
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: when we were kids, I was just about to.
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: Say, how many of you guys remember mom or dad
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: coming on with the bucket?
- 1:35:32Speaker 8: Dude?
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: I mean that was like when somebody got a bonus,
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: because I'm telling you, if we ever had like a
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: bucket of chicken and all the fixings that came with it,
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: like we were wondering what happened, like somebody sold something
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: or whatever, that was like a kidney. That was like
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: the most special time is to have that. I mean,
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: that was a real treat.
- 1:35:48Speaker 7: Well that was I mean for us McDonald's, are it
- 1:35:51Speaker 7: with burger? Burger King was actually the nearest fast food
- 1:35:54Speaker 7: nice of where we grew up. Say that that was
- 1:35:58Speaker 7: that was rare with seven kids, Yeah, there wasn't a lot,
- 1:36:01Speaker 7: you know, and it's.
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: Kind of wild. We were kind of you know what
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: the weird thing is. I just when you brought that up,
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: just thought about that. We were kind of a Burger
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: King house. We really never went to McDonald's when we
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: were kids. Burger King was like our thing. We never
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: went to Taco bell or any place like that. The
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: only fast food we ever ate as kids is we
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: ate Wendy's occasionally that was another special moment, Burger King,
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: or it was Taco bell a cage or no KFC occasionally,
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: never Taco bell, never any of that or so dude,
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: I just had a subway sub the other day for
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: the first time in probably five or six or seven years. Yeah,
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: because it was the only thing. Like I couldn't get
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: into Chick fil A because everybody in Orange County was there. Again,
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: that's gotta make Wendy's frills terrible. There was nobody in
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: that drive through, and that Chick fil A thing was
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: had three auxiliary lines going into that one Chick fil Ay,
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: And it's always a coin flip.
- 1:36:48Speaker 7: Could you get through that extra long Chick fil A
- 1:36:51Speaker 7: line faster than it is to drive to another place
- 1:36:54Speaker 7: and get fis still?
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: I mean, I only had eighteen minutes to get to
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: the station. I hate being late, so I was like, well,
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: I don't I think I could get this on a
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: eighteen minute And I was like, then as soon as
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: I was pulling up the line, I saw that the
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: car was like car car, car, car. It was just
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: going so fast. I mean they they were walking down
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: the line and handing people their orders that weren't even
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: up to the window yet. Yeah, so that they could
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: just kind of go through, so they would dump like
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: four or five cars at a time. They've got a system,
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: and I don't know why more places don't try and
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: adopt their system, because you got to hire all those employees,
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: you have to have the volume, and man, they just
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: I mean again Wendy's, it was noon, nobody was over there.
- 1:37:27Speaker 5: It's crazy.
- 1:37:28Speaker 6: I remember when Taco Bell first had its first restaurant,
- 1:37:31Speaker 6: and I remember thinking, I don't know about that Mexican
- 1:37:35Speaker 6: fast food.
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:36Speaker 5: Fast forward ten to fifteen years.
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: It's like, and dude kind of telling you, Taco Bell
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: has kind of dominated that space. There have been other
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: taco places that tried to pop up and do the
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: Taco Bell kind of thing, like Taco Tico, And but
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: they're the only one, are they not? Because you can't
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: consider Ti one of flats a fast food place. It's
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: fast casual food, right. I think Dell Taco might be
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: bigger than Taco Bell, you think, if not around here? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: for Mexican I'm talking. Oh really you think so? You
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: think Del Taco is bigger than Taco I don't.
- 1:38:07Speaker 7: I just know it's surprisingly big because I remember the
- 1:38:10Speaker 7: first time, I'm like, what the hell is Delta?
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: That's a West coast thing, and apparently it's a pretty
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: big thing. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, because I mean we have
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: that like the when you up north, you see all
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: those is it Horton's What what's the coffee place? Tim Hortons? Well,
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: Tim Hortons. I mean they're they're across the street from
- 1:38:25Speaker 2: each other, okay, they I mean, if one runs out
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: of something, they could literally run across the street and
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: grab it. They're everywhere up there.
- 1:38:32Speaker 6: Apparently, if you're talking about overall company size and market dominance,
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: Taco Bell is significantly larger.
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and they're the like, as far as I know,
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: they're the only national taco brand out there right now.
- 1:38:44Speaker 6: Right so, Del Taco has six hundred locations concentrated mainly
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: in the west and southwest.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: Oh, Taco Bell Lot's have thousands, eight.
- 1:38:53Speaker 5: Thousand locations globally.
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, they're they're the only game when it
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: comes to a national TI I mean, think about that,
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: they're the only one there is no other national taco
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: chain out there, which kills me because you would think
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: like anybody could just do it a little bit better
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: and take some of that space from them. But I
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: don't know, is the brand recognition for Taco Bell that's strong.
- 1:39:12Speaker 5: I would imagine it must be.
- 1:39:13Speaker 6: It must be right, or you know, just that a
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: place like Del Taco, kind of like a Jack in
- 1:39:17Speaker 6: the box, doesn't want to be outside of that West
- 1:39:20Speaker 6: Southwest area.
- 1:39:21Speaker 7: Chipotle comes in number two, then Del Taco, Cunoba, Mos
- 1:39:25Speaker 7: Southwest Grill. Yeah, but Taco John Snackobweo, I've never.
- 1:39:29Speaker 8: Heard of those.
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: Yeah. The thing is, I do not consider Mo's or
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: Chipotle as fast food places because as a rule, they
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: do not have drive through is it isn't that the
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: indicator for fast food? They call those fast casual? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: you go insan down and have your food.
- 1:39:45Speaker 5: And the chairs aren't plastic.
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not plasting right all right? Pour seven nine
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: six four one, text Us at seven seven zero three one.
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: So we've seen pretty much every iteration of forced dates
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: out there, right from your painting date to your pottery
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: date to your wine dates, all that stuff, right, anything
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: they try to get they try to drum up some
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: kind of action that gets you to come in for
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: a date. Right, there's a new one out there, and
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: this is kind of interesting. Magic class boy, that's a
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: good one, is it. No, it didn't mean that's a
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: great I think it's think of something more basic. Let's
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: see if you guys can hit this real quick. Think
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: of this as something a little bit more basic. Like
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: if you had a date and it was a place
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: to date, and let's say you were you weren't necessarily
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: up on how things ran in a household or something
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: like that. God, it's so hard to do housekeeping. Admin
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: dates are the new thing. What admin dates?
- 1:40:44Speaker 21: Uh?
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: Where you get together as a date. You schedule a
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: date and you get together and you do life task
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: like you pay your bills together, you cancel subscriptions together,
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: you answer overdate, overdue emails, anything to get together to
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: do something. But these are called admin dates. This is
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: an ap story today too.
- 1:41:03Speaker 7: So it's not like it's seems like you're going to
- 1:41:05Speaker 7: have to put forth a lot of personal information for
- 1:41:09Speaker 7: the date itself.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: I don't think you're doing it with each other. In
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: other words, I think if if like let's say deb
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: and I went on an admin date, right. I think
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: she would bring her computer and I would bring my
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: computer and we would just kind of get together and
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: do our bid I love when you guys go on
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: these hypothetical dates. You each have your computer, Jack, Jack,
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: Why do you make this always so comfortable that what
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: are you wearing.
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: Overall?
- 1:41:39Speaker 19: Oh? Come on?
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: Can I look at your computer screen? But the whole
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: idea is this, Let's say, like, you know, we're trying
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: to find something to do, but we really don't like
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: all that corny stuff. We don't want to go bowling
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: or do anything like that. And the whole idea is
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: you go to a coffee shop or a little restaurant
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: or maybe a lunch joint, and you bring your laptop hell,
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: you know, and you get together with your friends and
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: you just take that time to do all the stuff
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: that you don't get done at home, answering emails, paying
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: your bills.
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: I'm not doing my personal banking in a coffee shop.
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: But what I'm saying is it's the whole idea of
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: getting together to do something and not have it be
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: something just ridiculous.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: I guess.
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: That doesn't sound like fun.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: Really, you don't think, so let's have a laundry folding date. Hey,
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: that's the wrong with that. Have you ever been on Hey?
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: You you've never been with your wife on a laundromat
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: date when you're washer broke. No, I guess that's an
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: experience I missed. I gotta tell you, it's one of
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: my wife's favorite things in the world to do. It's
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: a good to laundromat and I can't even I cannot
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: explain it. That's absolutely true because I think it goes
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: back to her childhood.
- 1:42:45Speaker 6: I was gonna say, anybody is who spent time as
- 1:42:47Speaker 6: a kid in the laundry mat does not want to
- 1:42:49Speaker 6: go back to the lawn.
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: Dude.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, I used to have a blast
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: of the laundry mat because those carts that they will
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: give you a movie when you go out and get
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: your stuff from the car, right and you get those
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: carts and you just put your cousin in the cart
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: and pushed as fast as you going let go the Yeah,
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: that was fun for somebody, It was fun for me.
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: That's some good rolling.
- 1:43:06Speaker 7: Yeah, But I like it because all of the dryer
- 1:43:09Speaker 7: sheets and softener fabric softener that smell is usually yeah.
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: Exactly, but they're usually too hot. But and all the
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: washers and dryers are taken up.
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: I think that somebody tried or somebody actually turned one
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: of these into a club. I think there is a
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: laundry maat club in America, and I believe you go
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: in and you do your laundry and there's like a
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: bar in there, and there's music in the whole nine yards.
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: They get that's a good idea.
- 1:43:36Speaker 6: Actually, well, let's see, we have a laundry maat club
- 1:43:40Speaker 6: in Saint Petersburg, Chicago, Paris, Sydney, Miami, New York City.
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: I'm telling you, dude, it's the thing man, because people
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: don't like doing this stuff by themselves, so for you
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: to take your laundry up that's kind of gross though maybe.
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: Called dirty laundry. You can get food, coffee, and beer,
- 1:43:55Speaker 5: but then.
- 1:43:56Speaker 7: You know, again, on a date or you're introducing someone,
- 1:44:01Speaker 7: and it's also a lot of private, private personal items
- 1:44:06Speaker 7: that you're exposing them to.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why you throw the whites in first, because
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: you definitely don't want them seeing you pull that out. Yeah,
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: it says these low pressure gatherings taking place in coffee
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: shops accommodating bars and private homes are intended to turn
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: tedious and procrastination inducing adult responsibilities into productive time with
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: a twist you think about the problem. I think that's
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: a great idea. Like if you have Bunco parties at
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: your house, I mean women, you just have these Bunco
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: parties where they'd have like a.
- 1:44:35Speaker 5: What it's a Bunko party.
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: Bunko is a game I think they play. And I remember,
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: like eight or ten years ago, like Bunco parties were
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: like the thing for women. They would invite all their
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: friends over and they played Bunko. This is just basically
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: imagine biting all your friends over and you bring all
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: your personal stuff. I mean, you don't have to share
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: anything with anybody. Us guys just hang out and have
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: wine or listen to music and take care of this
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: stuff and I'm sure you know chatter will happen as
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: you do it. It says tackling a personal to do
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: list alongside others is a double duty activity that combines
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: the satisfaction of tending the necessary chores with no less
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: vital work and some nature nurturing relationships. He says, you
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: can have both. You can get things done, and you
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: can connect with people. I'm canceling my Disney Plus, what
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: do you do it?
- 1:45:23Speaker 5: It's careful. Those are words to turn Jack on if
- 1:45:26Speaker 5: you said something like that.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: I guess Pepperdine University did a little study about this,
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: and they talked about They talked about it this way.
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: At the gym, if I'm taking a group exercise class,
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: I'm less likely to stop in the middle with other
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: people and then try to start a conversation in the
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: same way. Admin dates can help with accountability and motivation
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: and connection. And imagine if you're in one of these
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: dates and you're not like savvy to something, maybe it's
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: AI or something like that, and somebody else in your
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: group can do that you learn something that time.
- 1:45:55Speaker 24: Well, there you have it.
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: I don't like the fact that you guys don't think
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: this is a good idea, driving me crazy. I thought
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: this is a damn good idea. Did you Yeah, I
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: think this is a good idea. It's you guys kill me.
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: This is a romantic or business partner's looking at it
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: on the same page. Club members, volunteers, all this stuff,
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: get together and do your stuff together. Maybe it's not
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: a good idea. I have the laundry date. It's a
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: joke and you your eyes lit up, But it's not
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: a joke. I mean, that's real happening, man. People are
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: going to laundry me's for dates.
- 1:46:27Speaker 7: Or is the idea that maybe you can find a
- 1:46:29Speaker 7: date while you're also getting the chore done the laundry.
- 1:46:32Speaker 7: It's not like you know, you and dab on one
- 1:46:35Speaker 7: of your your nights out together. You each grab your
- 1:46:41Speaker 7: you each grab your you know, dirty laundry, and then
- 1:46:44Speaker 7: meet there.
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: That tells you a lot about your your date, though,
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: doesn't Yeah, Yeah, I think if you're dating, a lot
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: of granting's in there.
- 1:46:55Speaker 6: I think if you're dating and you're like five six dates,
- 1:47:00Speaker 6: that might be when you want to do something like
- 1:47:03Speaker 6: an admin day.
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: I don't know, but you know what I gotta tell you.
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: I think you know, we're thinking at it. We're thinking
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: about this like with a little bit of older perspective, right.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: I do believe that younger people. I think people in
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: their twenties. I think people in your twenties and early
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: thirties don't look at life the way we look at it.
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: Obviously they don't and they would not consider this like
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: an intrusion. I think most I think kids that age
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: would like be perfectly cool with this. More apt to
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: be neurodivergent, and this might be something that gives them comfort.
- 1:47:29Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean and connectivity since to say there's so
- 1:47:32Speaker 6: much loneliness and can I tell you reliance on social media?
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: And look, the laundry thing is, I mean you have
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: to do it, and I don't. The thing is, it's
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: weird not having a washer. I don't. I guess maybe
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: if you live in a certain apartment and it doesn't
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: come with like a stackable or whatever, and you don't
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: want to go to the apartments slaundry, you know place
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: you could go to one of these places and hang out.
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: Everybody's there for the same reason.
- 1:47:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean thinking outside of the box.
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: That's for sure interesting. We can call it duds and suids.
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: Somebody just text let's start it up, let's get some
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: seed money and get going here.
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: There you go, it says.
- 1:48:07Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: Romantic or business partner partners looking to get on the
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: same page, or club members and volunteers collaborating on a
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: big project may find admin dates helpful. I mean you
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: think about like like like this, right, so we have
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: the big yachtley cruise coming up this Saturday. Yes, so
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: an admin date would be nothing more than me saying
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: to you, guys, hey, pop over to the house this Wednesday.
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: You'll bring your laptops. I'll get a couple of bottles
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: of wine and a charcooterie board, and we'll sit here
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: and we'll hammer out this entire event, you know, all
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: the times, all the things. We're gonna do everything we
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: need and then we'll just got that's an admin date.
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: I mean that does that seem that weird?
- 1:48:41Speaker 5: Are you asking?
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: Jack Stump? I'm missing time out in computer do the bit?
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: Oh my god?
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: Hey someone texted us. You know what turns a woman
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: on when I can't pay my cell phone bill? Oh yeah,
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: what's on your screen? My world of problems?
- 1:49:13Speaker 17: Hey?
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: Maybe how you don't gut you've been moved that you've
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: been move me ten dollars? My water may get off?
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: What do you working on it? I haven't paid it
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: for three months, but now with this admin date, I
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: realized that I'm about to be water free in my apartment.
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, what are you working on? Just some proof
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: that I didn't properly prepare for my future? You put
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: it that way. It doesn't sound that enticing to it,
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: does it. Well, you're looking at him there, Oh, just
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: the bill for my puppy had to put her in
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: the vet yesterday. So, uh, what's on this charcoderie board
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: for you? Poison? Jack? Oh, come on, lots and lots
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: of rat poison for you. I like crackers, I said,
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: A woman picking up dudes in the laundry mat isn't
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: gonna be the AI millionaire hooker. I'm sorry. Yeah, no,
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: you never know, man, I mean there are a lot
- 1:50:08Speaker 2: of insides out there that don't have washers and dryers.
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: We're covering all the bases, yeah, all economic levels. But
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: the funny that you guys are busting my balls about this,
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: But if this was like a creator space date, you
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: wouldn't be saying a word and it's basically the same thing.
- 1:50:27Speaker 6: Yeah, Well, a creator space is different than you're going
- 1:50:29Speaker 6: in to create something new.
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: I mean, bills and laundry.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: One's a hobby or career, the other one's a chore.
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: Apparently these things have taken off on social media, says
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: some suggestions. When you organize one, it says, gives you
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: all these new uh doing life together feels better to
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: people like when people don't. When people have a support
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: group that are that are similarly focused, that that actually
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: helps out.
- 1:50:53Speaker 6: Somebody texted us, I don't really understand it, but it
- 1:50:56Speaker 6: said it's also called body doubling for ADHD.
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: Oh really, yeah, I haven't heard that one yet.
- 1:51:02Speaker 5: Let me look that up.
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: But I think that's the kind of the thing I
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: said a minute ago is kind of what I think
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: most of this is probably right. Like if ill, let's
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: say there's a big task here in the building and
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: the sales reps over there, we're all focused on getting
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: a big, real radio event together, and they all said, hey,
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: let's just go over here. Everybody bring their laptop, will
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: sit in a circle, drink some wine. We'll figure this out.
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: That's basically an ADMIN date.
- 1:51:22Speaker 6: So it's no wonder you do like this because body
- 1:51:25Speaker 6: doubling is a highly effective ADHD productivity strategy. It involves
- 1:51:30Speaker 6: completing a task or project while another person is present.
- 1:51:33Speaker 6: The companion acts as a subtle anchor or gentle queue,
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: helping to reduce distractions and increase accountability without actually helping
- 1:51:42Speaker 6: with the work.
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: That's absolutely exactly what I thought it would be. Like too,
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: because I have to tell you I have some of that,
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: and I can get off track pretty easily if I
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: was in If we were in a group of people
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: and they were all singularly focused on one thing, it
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: would be way more difficult for me to hop off
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: track and go do something. Still, dah, you can't just
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: start scrolling through Instagram getting together.
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: Organize an event as a committee meeting, not a date.
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: All right? Four oh seven nine six four one text
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: us seven to seven zero three one. How much do
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: you know about AI? It's not gonna segue for me
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: a little buf it's time.
- 1:52:15Speaker 19: When you just said fried chicken, the sides of my cheeks,
- 1:52:20Speaker 19: I could taste fried chicken in them, and I have
- 1:52:23Speaker 19: to have it now, actually want my mom's fried chicken.
- 1:52:27Speaker 19: Come on, if people know what I'm talking about, right,
- 1:52:29Speaker 19: you get? But yeah, I would do some koc sopt
- 1:52:33Speaker 19: maybe original. You can almost eat the phones it's so soft, But.
- 1:52:36Speaker 5: I wouldn't ever do that.
- 1:52:38Speaker 19: And a whopper yeah, but not at the same time,
- 1:52:42Speaker 19: that's just too much food.
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree.
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: Every time she calls us, try to draw a picture
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: of what she looks like. No, and I don't ever
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: want to know. Yeah, yeah, Now you can't know. That's
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: one of the beautiful things about being on this side
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: of the mic, Like when you guys call in and
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one on Jim, there's dead.
- 1:52:58Speaker 3: Hello.
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: Jack is here as well. He's got the Jackie sack.
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: What's in there? OLLI Lord chucket shout that's true. Look
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: at it. Glec we get eglect.
- 1:53:05Speaker 7: Got a couple of prizes and the winner today will
- 1:53:07Speaker 7: get to pick which they would like. It could be
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: a pair of tickets to see Orlando City take on
- 1:53:13Speaker 7: Natural sc at Interncoast Stadium on July Jupiter. They're twenty
- 1:53:17Speaker 7: five years in the Atmosphere Tour. This is happening in
- 1:53:20Speaker 7: Tampa to Mid Florida Credit Union Amphitheater July tenth. So
- 1:53:24Speaker 7: a train in one, two, three, four or five. Let's
- 1:53:29Speaker 7: go three three is the answer. Robbie, How you doing?
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: I'm here. I'm glad to hear that. Robbie. You want
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: to play a little game with his buddy.
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: It's time for JCS trivia.
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: Ya all right, Robbie. This is a real easy game.
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: But he got a question here for you. Four answers.
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: One of these answers is not true. What but if
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: you can Baseball week this week? That's right. Here are
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: three fun fake facts about Little League Baseball and one
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: inside the park homer of the line. All right, buddy,
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: we're talking about litt League Baseball, which one of its
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: first night game on May twenty fourth, nineteen seventy five,
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: exactly forty years after the major leagues first. Number three,
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: In just forty five days, the Little League World Series
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: plays sixteen thousand games, more than six full Major league seasons.
- 1:54:12Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: Or lastly, at fourteen years old, standing six feet nine
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: inches tall, Aaron Durley is the tallest person to ever
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: play Little League baseball. Which of those is a lie?
- 1:54:25Speaker 22: I'm gonna go with the third one.
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: No, that's absolutely true. In forty five days, the Little
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: League World Series plays sixteen thousand games. That's more than
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: six full Major league seasons. Damn, Betty, we're talking about
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: Little league baseball. Which one of these is not true?
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: Number one, Little League Baseball introduced the first batting helmets.
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: Major League Baseball adopted them shortly after Number two, the
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: Little League World Series played. It's from Durley is the
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: tallest person to ever play Little league baseball.
- 1:54:50Speaker 15: Yim, I'm gonna go at number two because I don't
- 1:54:52Speaker 15: think they play ni games.
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: What in little league? Yeah, yeah, you got that part
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: of it wrong, But you dig at the answer, right,
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: that's the one.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: What.
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: What year do you think their first night game was?
- 1:55:05Speaker 12: Probably somewhere in the eighties.
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: Actually ninety two was the first year.
- 1:55:08Speaker 8: Wow.
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: August twenty fourth, nineteen ninety two was the very first
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: Little League World Series night game. The first Major league
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: night game was in nineteen thirty five. Damn, there about
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: You're a winter I'm gonna put you on hold. Tim
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: gets a prize today. Hey, the Little League. Little League
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: Baseball did introduce the batting helmet that then played shortly
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: after that. Have fourteen years old standing six', Nine Aaron
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: durley is the tallest person to ever Play Little league
- 1:55:33Speaker 2: baseball fourteen years. Old he was six nine we two
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: hundred fifty. Pounds oh my.
- 1:55:36Speaker 5: God oh feeding that.
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: KID a couple other things you may not. Know before
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: we get to the top of the. Hour we Have
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: Ray tremley on the other. Side No Brandon kravitz. Today
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: Little League baseball also introduced remote control scoreboards and the
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: umpcam To Major League. Baseball they had that Before major. Leagues.
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: Wow the first girl to Play Little League Baseball Catherine Tubby.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: Johnston she did it. Illegally she actually tucked her pigtails
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: under her hat and took on the Name tubby as
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: a nickname so that nobody would think that she was a.
- 1:56:06Speaker 2: Girl the Official Little League baseball, Mascot dugout was created
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: by whom we have a connection, HERE I Disney. Imagineers. Really,
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: yeah so The Little League World series mascot was actually
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: created By Disney. Imagineers. Wow and then lastly here you,
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: know originally it was gonna be in the, eighties AND
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: i changed it to kind of mimic The Major League baseball.
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: THING i thought that would throw them off a little bit.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: More but my mansol right through.
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: It that's why he's going to The.
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: Jackets he's going to The jacketsack zero three one to
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: take a little break back in a second with more
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: Than Jimp Colbert.
- 1:56:39Speaker 14: Show laundry and a basket and anything else you might
- 1:56:44Speaker 14: need to take care.
- 1:56:45Speaker 17: Of that's, fantastic, HEY gcs. Crew, yeah it's funny you
- 1:56:50Speaker 17: mentioned that body doubling.
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: Idea.
- 1:56:54Speaker 17: YEAH a friend of mine has like a side hustle
- 1:56:56Speaker 17: where he has a garage and he you, know restores you,
- 1:57:00Speaker 17: know cars and stuff like, that puts some cars and
- 1:57:03Speaker 17: he'll invite me over just have some beer and you,
- 1:57:05Speaker 17: know maybe pass some tools to. Him and he actually
- 1:57:08Speaker 17: admitted to me, that you, know he gets a lot.
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: More work done When i'm.
- 1:57:12Speaker 17: There it's, like, uh you know the work has, purpose
- 1:57:15Speaker 17: you know that doesn't want to waste my time sort of.
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: Thing any, over, Crew i'm almost, there about ninety you
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: get talk more about THAT adm and. Stuff tell me
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: about your tax.
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: To have those, overalls tell me about your.
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: Tell me about your. Taxes. Death it was ninety. There he,
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: said tell me more about your, taxes deb than you're.
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: Over he's so. Close, yeah do you have a tank
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: top under those? Overalls? Dead all? Right four seven four
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: one text seven seven zero three one On, jim there's.
- 1:57:50Speaker 2: Deb Hello jack's ear as. Well hi, There, jack you
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: said you had a H i want to make SURE
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: i get this. Correct DID i not hear you just?
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: Say in the hall?
- 1:58:00Speaker 7: Ways it was one of those bird feeders with the
- 1:58:03Speaker 7: camera motion Sensor Wi fi little solar thing charges.
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: That three years. Ago the Hottest christmas present On earth
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: was that thing right.
- 1:58:11Speaker 8: There and we love.
- 1:58:12Speaker 7: It, however it we kind of stopped filling it because
- 1:58:15Speaker 7: it was we were all we were getting was the
- 1:58:17Speaker 7: acid of a squirrel on, cameras.
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: Right and they are they are. Relentless, yeah and so
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: and that was on the. Tree So i'm, like, OKAY
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: i need to put this on its own. Posts and
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: you just watch the squirrel slide.
- 1:58:31Speaker 7: Down but that's a lot of ongoing work and eventually
- 1:58:34Speaker 7: they wear that out and just get right back up.
- 1:58:36Speaker 7: There so the one That i've seen that seems to
- 1:58:39Speaker 7: hold the most promise is over the pole that holds
- 1:58:44Speaker 7: the this bird, feeder you put another one like a
- 1:58:48Speaker 7: five INCH, pvc a wide one or.
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: SOMETHING i saw somebody like a. Slinky they put like
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: a slinky on.
- 1:58:53Speaker 7: It so when they reach up, there they just kind
- 1:58:55Speaker 7: of go, back you, know they was something wide because
- 1:58:58Speaker 7: then they can't kind of wrap their little paws around.
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: It, yeah because, man their nails are so. Sharp if
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: you ever held, one oh my, god you think your
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: cat's nails are. Sharp these things are like the smallest
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: needles of all.
- 1:59:10Speaker 7: Time so the, CHALLENGES i think they call it like
- 1:59:12Speaker 7: the a five seven eight, rule like five feet off the,
- 1:59:17Speaker 7: ground but like seven feet over it by eight, feet
- 1:59:21Speaker 7: AND i REALIZED i don't have any spot in my
- 1:59:25Speaker 7: backyard that isn't too close to a fence or tree
- 1:59:29Speaker 7: ors up on my.
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: Roof did you somebody just text? SOMETHING i remember this
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: from a trivia. Thing they, said by spicy bird, seed that,
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: was and the reason why is because birds can't taste.
- 1:59:40Speaker 7: SPICE i watched a video about that and they, said
- 1:59:45Speaker 7: mixed results on the spicy.
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: Brand because eventually you'll you'll wind up getting a scroll
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: that loves its spicy. Exactly, actually he likes it nice and.
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: HOT i think that was the. Problem we, never you,
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: know we we eventually we put ours out for birds
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: and squirrel started rating. It and to be honest with,
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: you we enjoyed the squirrels. More oh, really while my
- 2:00:04Speaker 2: dog absolutely lost her mind because she was able to
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: stand up and be face to face with the. Squirrel,
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: yeah and the squirrel would just stare at, her wouldn't.
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: Care he knew she wasn't gonna be able to get,
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: him so he would just like it was kind of
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: punker a little. Bit, yeah have you ever thought about
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: dangling it from like a.
- 2:00:21Speaker 7: String they climbed, Those they climbed the squirrels will do, that,
- 2:00:25Speaker 7: yeah because what are you hanging it?
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: From and the squirrels can get up. There, yeah BUT i,
- 2:00:29Speaker 2: mean LIKE i mean a really like piece of monofilament.
- 2:00:32Speaker 2: Line they will climb on a piece of fishy line
- 2:00:34Speaker 2: THAT i don't, know but they can jump on. It but, yeah,
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: Yeah also you don't want it to. Break it's a you,
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: know it's a it's a beautiful little. Yeah, yeah camera
- 2:00:43Speaker 2: feeder set? Up M where are you gonna put?
- 2:00:49Speaker 7: IT i don't, Know LIKE i can kind of try
- 2:00:53Speaker 7: and get equal distance from the tree and the, fence
- 2:00:57Speaker 7: but still there's, overhang SO i don't. Know MAYBE i
- 2:01:00Speaker 7: could go up close to the, house like on the
- 2:01:02Speaker 7: side of the, house but you, know that's only like
- 2:01:06Speaker 7: six feet away from a.
- 2:01:07Speaker 2: Fence and they're like the most athletic things on Planet.
- 2:01:09Speaker 2: EARTH i mean they just put a golf ball sized
- 2:01:12Speaker 2: wad in each cheek and then off they. GO i was,
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: like where do all the bird feed? Go the thing
- 2:01:15Speaker 2: was filled with, It and THEN i go back and
- 2:01:17Speaker 2: look at the, Video i'm, like, yeah it's another twenty
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: five dollars bag of bird. Seed. Yeah, WELL i wish
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: you the best, there, Man But i'm gonna tell you
- 2:01:24Speaker 2: the bird scene. THING i, mean THAT'S i like that
- 2:01:26Speaker 2: that it's a it's a cool, idea it.
- 2:01:28Speaker 5: Is it's fun fresh.
- 2:01:30Speaker 7: Fruits, yeah but they make them With oh there's also
- 2:01:34Speaker 7: like a like a. Cone you can do it like
- 2:01:37Speaker 7: a cone thing around the, post but you have to
- 2:01:39Speaker 7: be careful that they can't get over. That but, again for,
- 2:01:43Speaker 7: me the issue is not so much the post, now
- 2:01:46Speaker 7: but just the like the distance from trees and fences and.
- 2:01:51Speaker 2: Stuff how about you set up something like when they
- 2:01:53Speaker 2: when they try to jump up on, it like let's
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: say YOUR pbc pipe thing, right, hey, yeah and they
- 2:01:56Speaker 2: try to jump up on, it but attach THAT pbc
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: pipe with a string and when they get their weight on,
- 2:02:00Speaker 2: it it pulls down and like sprays them with water
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: or something like, that like you do. Birds that seems
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: like a lot of work to keep scrolls out of your.
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: Birdhouse but, yeah how about you pay for this bird?
- 2:02:11Speaker 2: HOUSE i didn't it was a gaff how? Much one hundred?
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: BUCKS i think it goes for a little.
- 2:02:15Speaker 7: More, yeah it's, camera it's motions, camera the fi wi
- 2:02:19Speaker 7: fi and then it's worked.
- 2:02:20Speaker 2: Before but it looks like a slinky and when they
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: jump on, it and they try to they try to
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: get it just they just go right down to the
- 2:02:26Speaker 2: bottom of the of the.
- 2:02:27Speaker 6: GROUND a lot of rescues will tell you don't worry
- 2:02:29Speaker 6: about it's the water that they don't have the easiest access.
- 2:02:32Speaker 5: To so get a bird.
- 2:02:34Speaker 2: Bath SO i have a bird. Bath look at. Me
- 2:02:37Speaker 2: i'm missing no shady.
- 2:02:38Speaker 6: Spot, though because if they doesn't get as much activity
- 2:02:41Speaker 6: as if it's.
- 2:02:41Speaker 2: SHADED i did not know. That, yeah that makes a big.
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: DIFFERENCE i have a little solar like a bloom that a.
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: Fountain get a baby get a baby. Pool, yeah and
- 2:02:52Speaker 2: put your whatever the pole is that your bird thing is,
- 2:02:55Speaker 2: on put it in the dead center of. That, okay
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: well squirrels swim. Across.
- 2:03:00Speaker 6: Yeah thinking about stagnant. Water now now you, know now
- 2:03:04Speaker 6: you've got mosquito breeding.
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: Ground put that you put those things in?
- 2:03:07Speaker 5: It, no because you don't want the birds to be drinking.
- 2:03:09Speaker 17: It oh my.
- 2:03:10Speaker 6: God, well we know who doesn't have a wildlife habitat?
- 2:03:16Speaker 6: HEALTHY i had a bat box.
- 2:03:19Speaker 8: Or a bat.
- 2:03:19Speaker 2: BOX i was talking To Ray trillian at the. Hallway he,
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: said you got a bb gun because, Hey ray would
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: not say, no.
- 2:03:33Speaker 4: You mean.
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: Hunter ray wouldn't say anything like. That the guy hunts
- 2:03:37Speaker 2: hogs with knives wouldn't say anything like. That you're, right
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: don't smirch his. Name he's not here to defend. Him
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: he will be in a minute. Too if he only heard.
- 2:03:44Speaker 14: This not a.
- 2:03:45Speaker 2: Chance he's in the. Hallway he can't hear.
- 2:03:47Speaker 5: That this a, bird buddy.
- 2:03:49Speaker 2: Jack MAYBE i don't. KNOW i didn't look at the.
- 2:03:52Speaker 2: Name that's what an entitled. BRICK i don't look at.
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: IT i just know it was. Expectively, NO i.
- 2:03:58Speaker 6: Didn'ts they may leave your bird bath alone or your
- 2:04:02Speaker 6: bird feeder.
- 2:04:03Speaker 5: ALONE i used to do that WHEN i live.
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: Downtown just dip that cob in some. Acetone, yeah it's a.
- 2:04:09Speaker 2: Joke did they make it? Lids did they make it
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: gnarly so they can't do it like they did that with? Gas?
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: Right and then model, glue model? Glue also the they
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: put horse radish oil and model glue or something?
- 2:04:22Speaker 7: Right those uh see TWO o three? Two those uh nickel, Batteries,
- 2:04:29Speaker 7: yeah they do those. Now they those a little round
- 2:04:33Speaker 7: like watch. Batteries they put a sour coating on them
- 2:04:37Speaker 7: so kids won't.
- 2:04:38Speaker 5: Wow those button, batteries those those button.
- 2:04:42Speaker 6: Batteries you especially around the, holidays you know you're buying,
- 2:04:46Speaker 6: toys they require the.
- 2:04:47Speaker 5: Batteries kid slips it.
- 2:04:49Speaker 6: Out it looks like a small silver disc and and
- 2:04:52Speaker 6: then the fun begins once they swallow.
- 2:04:54Speaker 5: Those SO i guess the where don't swell.
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: Sweens you don't need to make like a roller pole or, something,
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: right like a pole just like has rollers on it
- 2:05:07Speaker 2: so that when they try to climb up, it they
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: would just kind of isn't, well you.
- 2:05:11Speaker 7: Don't want anything that they can you, know, somehow even
- 2:05:14Speaker 7: though there's rollers on it that they'd be able to
- 2:05:17Speaker 7: latch into and. Stuff so the pole, itself it seems
- 2:05:21Speaker 7: like the WIDER pvc like a five INCH bbc or
- 2:05:24Speaker 7: a stovepipe is wide enough where.
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: They can't climb.
- 2:05:28Speaker 5: That, yeah they can't get the grip, right BUT i
- 2:05:31Speaker 5: still need.
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: To find a location Where i'm not they can't access
- 2:05:35Speaker 2: it from other means because they they can defeat that
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: by just climbing climb up. Anything, man they really. Can't it's.
- 2:05:41Speaker 2: Amazing SO i wish the best. Check, Yeah i'll document.
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: It you should at least try the spicy food thing
- 2:05:48Speaker 2: to see if that.
- 2:05:49Speaker 5: Works roper squirrels on.
- 2:05:51Speaker 2: YouTube, okay apparently he has quite the squirrel obstacle course that. Gog,
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: yes that's the, thing Till, yeah it's kind of, like
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: let's just just tire him, out give him a whole
- 2:06:04Speaker 2: lot to do to get to, it and then for
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: a while they just quit like screw, This we'll go
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: in a. Bug then you have to get this degree,
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: right all? Right seven seven zero, three want to take
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: a little, breaker, Buddy Ray trimley on the other, side
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: stay tuned.
- 2:06:15Speaker 25: The problem in the squirrels and you know all the
- 2:06:18Speaker 25: the fixes and things you can do to try to
- 2:06:20Speaker 25: keep the squirrels.
- 2:06:20Speaker 12: Out of your bird.
- 2:06:21Speaker 25: Feeder and it reminded me of one of my favorite
- 2:06:24Speaker 25: YouTube videos of all. TIME i think he now has
- 2:06:26Speaker 25: a show streaming On netflix which features this.
- 2:06:28Speaker 8: Segment but if you.
- 2:06:29Speaker 25: Look Up Mark rober squirrel obstacle, course This Mark rober
- 2:06:33Speaker 25: guy is super.

- 2:06:36Speaker 8: Yeah there's another good bird feeder.
- 2:06:39Speaker 15: Trick if you are buying one with a camera in,
- 2:06:41Speaker 15: it buy another camera that points down from the bottom
- 2:06:47Speaker 15: of the bird feeder at the ground to watch the
- 2:06:51Speaker 15: rodents that come out at night to eat all the
- 2:06:53Speaker 15: seed that's on the ground and.
- 2:06:55Speaker 25: Talking about bird baths and nature and squirrels and birds in.
- 2:07:00Speaker 25: General and it just reminded me that over the WEEKEND
- 2:07:03Speaker 25: i watched a hawk swoop down and grab like a
- 2:07:07Speaker 25: smaller sparrow or robin or traditional you, know yardbird off
- 2:07:12Speaker 25: of my neighbor's gutter five feet away from my.
- 2:07:15Speaker 8: Head it was it was.
- 2:07:16Speaker 16: Incredible MAYBE i know a guy that got really tired
- 2:07:22Speaker 16: of messing with the squirrels and he built a catapult
- 2:07:26Speaker 16: on top of his.
- 2:07:27Speaker 2: Fence, yeah that's the other, one all, right seven seven
- 2:07:31Speaker 2: zero three. One that's how you text. Us if you

- 2:09:31Speaker 2: years old whatever started The palisades?
- 2:09:33Speaker 8: Fire?
- 2:09:33Speaker 2: Right is he twenty three or twenty? Six twenty nine years?
- 2:09:36Speaker 17: Old?
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: Okay started this? Fire and WHAT i read TODAY i was, like, god,
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: man this is. Unbelievable this guy is only facing like forty,
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: five forty one to forty five years in prison and
- 2:09:46Speaker 2: he started a fire that killed twelve. People and did
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: you ever look up how much it? Costs, yeah it
- 2:09:55Speaker 2: was A i was always under the estimation that when
- 2:09:58Speaker 2: you are an arsonist and you started a there was
- 2:10:00Speaker 2: always a threat of death, there like because the only
- 2:10:04Speaker 2: THING i can figure.
- 2:10:05Speaker 5: OUT i just wanted to let you.
- 2:10:06Speaker 6: Know The Palisades fire in Southern california in early twenty
- 2:10:09Speaker 6: twenty five was the costliest costliest wildfire event on record,
- 2:10:14Speaker 6: globally with insured losses of forty billion, Dollars so.
- 2:10:18Speaker 2: Forty billion dollars in damage in twelve, lives and this
- 2:10:21Speaker 2: guy's only facing forty five. Years, theoretically with good, behavior
- 2:10:24Speaker 2: could be out by the time he's fifty.
- 2:10:25Speaker 8: Five, well and these are the federal charges that he's
- 2:10:28Speaker 8: he's currently under trial for that we're. Seeing and so
- 2:10:33Speaker 8: federal law is different from state. Laws they do have
- 2:10:35Speaker 8: it In, california they just rarely. EMPLOYED i say, YEAH.
- 2:10:38Speaker 7: I say BECAUSE i feel like it came up with
- 2:10:40Speaker 7: The mendoza brothers and also with the rob. Render so
- 2:10:45Speaker 7: you always have the state laws of.
- 2:10:47Speaker 8: Possibility but when you're dealing with federal law and you're
- 2:10:51Speaker 8: dealing with specifically these types of, crimes where as far
- 2:10:55Speaker 8: AS i understand the, facts is a situation where he
- 2:10:59Speaker 8: may have started this, fire the fire department came extinguished,
- 2:11:03Speaker 8: it and they believe that due to high winds seven days,
- 2:11:06Speaker 8: later it reignited and caused this big. Fire and the
- 2:11:12Speaker 8: problem that the prosecutors are going to have is proving
- 2:11:17Speaker 8: that he had some type of, intent some type of
- 2:11:19Speaker 8: criminal intent we call it men's, rea which is this
- 2:11:22Speaker 8: criminal intent that you want to cause harm to. People
- 2:11:25Speaker 8: they're going to have a really hard time proving that
- 2:11:26Speaker 8: BECAUSE i think THE ai or The google search that
- 2:11:30Speaker 8: he had on his computer was what happens if you
- 2:11:32Speaker 8: start a fire with a, cigarette right that wasn't properly.
- 2:11:35Speaker 8: Extinguished it's something to that. Effect so he didn't have
- 2:11:38Speaker 8: the intent of starting this. Fire he was just, negligent.
- 2:11:41Speaker 8: Right he was criminally, negligent probably by the fact that you,
- 2:11:46Speaker 8: know there's all these high risk warnings for fire and
- 2:11:50Speaker 8: but conceptually. Negligent and so when you're dealing with negligent
- 2:11:54Speaker 8: type based, crimes to put somebody to death for, that
- 2:11:57Speaker 8: usually the punishment doesn't fit the. Crime we want the
- 2:12:00Speaker 8: people that are premeditated, murder you, know capital, offenses like
- 2:12:07Speaker 8: we had them talk about that with the trees and,
- 2:12:09Speaker 8: stuff with The january sixth. Stuff those are the types
- 2:12:11Speaker 8: of things we're normally looking at when we're talking about capital,
- 2:12:13Speaker 8: punishment and so so that's the reason why capital punishment's
- 2:12:18Speaker 8: not on the.
- 2:12:18Speaker 2: Table, yeah the last person that was executed In california
- 2:12:21Speaker 2: was two thousand and. Six agavin knew some put a
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: moratorium into IF i set fire to a building with people,
- 2:12:27Speaker 2: involved and then you, know people, die AND i, go,
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: WELL i was trying to scare. PEOPLE i didn't really
- 2:12:31Speaker 2: intend for anybody to. DIE i, mean couldn't you easily
- 2:12:34Speaker 2: say that with? THIS i MEAN i wanted to set
- 2:12:36Speaker 2: something on. FIRE i had no. Idea every possible indicator
- 2:12:40Speaker 2: showed that not only could this grow very, quickly it
- 2:12:43Speaker 2: could also sweep through NEIGHBOR.
- 2:12:45Speaker 8: I feel like he tried to call nine one one
- 2:12:48Speaker 8: at some, point and again from my, MEMORY i felt
- 2:12:53Speaker 8: like maybe he couldn't get into nine one one to
- 2:12:55Speaker 8: make that nine one one, call and that was with
- 2:12:58Speaker 8: the first. Fire and SO i think to some, degree
- 2:13:03Speaker 8: if you're looking at mitigating, facts, right facts that would
- 2:13:05Speaker 8: suggest that maybe he wasn't trying to start a, fire
- 2:13:08Speaker 8: that maybe this was more. ACCIDENTAL i think that one
- 2:13:11Speaker 8: goes into that category of he didn't really want to
- 2:13:14Speaker 8: burn this building down in and, oh by the, way
- 2:13:16Speaker 8: now all these things. Happened he was just AGAIN i
- 2:13:20Speaker 8: don't know if they've ever been able to find the
- 2:13:22Speaker 8: source of this. Fire he was just. Negligent he through
- 2:13:25Speaker 8: out of the.
- 2:13:25Speaker 6: Case, yeah the judge rule that prosecutors cannot INTRODUCE ai
- 2:13:29Speaker 6: images that render necked was allegedly created of fires.
- 2:13:35Speaker 8: Evidence that you can use and you can really rely
- 2:13:37Speaker 8: on to, say here's proof that they intended to start this.
- 2:13:39Speaker 8: Fire so when you can't prove those things from a prosecutor,
- 2:13:43Speaker 8: standpoint it makes more sense to go with something that
- 2:13:46Speaker 8: doesn't have that type of criminal intent component to, it
- 2:13:51Speaker 8: where it's much more simple did you start this? Fire
- 2:13:54Speaker 8: did this fire cause this? Damage and then that, WAY
- 2:13:56Speaker 8: i don't say it's, easier but now you're only proving
- 2:14:00Speaker 8: cause and, effect right, Right you only have to prove
- 2:14:02Speaker 8: that he was the proximate cause for that. Fire so
- 2:14:05Speaker 8: his cigarette in that original fire is what then led
- 2:14:09Speaker 8: to this this Big palisades.
- 2:14:11Speaker 2: Fire and it wasn't there another thing though with them
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: about something That Vard.
- 2:14:15Speaker 6: County he was working as an uber driver AND i
- 2:14:17Speaker 6: remember when the earlier had arrested, him he had expressed
- 2:14:21Speaker 6: some kind of like the, yeah like yet.
- 2:14:25Speaker 2: They're rich not BURN i, MEAN i don't know how
- 2:14:28Speaker 2: deep motivation has to. GO i don't know if a
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: one sentence statement in a in a post OR i.
- 2:14:35Speaker 2: DON'T i don't know how deep that. Goes BUT i
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: mean that you, know if you're looking for, intent.
- 2:14:39Speaker 6: Well prosecutors intend to frame rendernect as a mentally disturbed
- 2:14:43Speaker 6: man who was fascinated by fire and the concept of
- 2:14:46Speaker 6: cities burning to the. Ground, Again they've amassed thousands of
- 2:14:49Speaker 6: pieces of, evidence including CHET gpt, PROMPTS ai images and,
- 2:14:54Speaker 6: videos they, say and nothing can directly tie the fire
- 2:14:57Speaker 6: he's accused of setting to The palisades fire rather than
- 2:15:00Speaker 6: the other two fires one week apart in the same.
- 2:15:03Speaker 5: Area that's the.
- 2:15:04Speaker 2: THING i thought that would be the most difficult, thing.
- 2:15:05Speaker 8: That approximate costs that but for his starting that original,
- 2:15:09Speaker 8: fire this second fire never would have. Happened and AGAIN
- 2:15:12Speaker 8: i DON'T i wasn't aware of the thousands of pieces
- 2:15:15Speaker 8: of evidence that show that he had this fascination with.
- 2:15:18Speaker 8: FIRE i think that definitely hurts his case a little
- 2:15:20Speaker 8: bit because as a juror sitting, there you know in this,
- 2:15:24Speaker 8: community right because the jury of your peers in this,
- 2:15:26Speaker 8: community that they're probably going to be pretty concerned that
- 2:15:30Speaker 8: he has this obsession with, fire and then you you,
- 2:15:35Speaker 8: know add that into what it's, possible but it has to,
- 2:15:39Speaker 8: be it has to prove be unreasonable doubt that he
- 2:15:42Speaker 8: was the approximate. Cosic but for that, action this never
- 2:15:45Speaker 8: would have.
- 2:15:45Speaker 2: Happened to be tough, Though BUT i want to ask,
- 2:15:47Speaker 2: also you said these are federal. Charges what takes? Precedent
- 2:15:50Speaker 2: so when this federal case is, done can he be
- 2:15:53Speaker 2: Again california can now come at him as? Well is
- 2:15:55Speaker 2: there a reason why do The feds always get the first.
- 2:15:58Speaker 8: Shot it's not, all but it is a form of
- 2:16:01Speaker 8: preemption where we usually have To feds get the first
- 2:16:05Speaker 8: kind of bite at the.
- 2:16:05Speaker 2: Apples that helps set a precedent for you, Guys like
- 2:16:08Speaker 2: in other, words if he Gets here's my thing is
- 2:16:11Speaker 2: we hear about this with traffic all the. Time like
- 2:16:13Speaker 2: you can't introduce information from Other like you can't tell
- 2:16:16Speaker 2: somebody who's currently being charged WITH dui that they had another.
- 2:16:19Speaker 2: Dui you know What i'm. Saying so with this, case
- 2:16:22Speaker 2: if they if you went to trial In, california could
- 2:16:24Speaker 2: attorneys In california, say, Well, wall The fed's got, him
- 2:16:27Speaker 2: The vet's convicted him with all this. STUFF i, mean
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: so obviously he's your. Guy here's the. Case you do
- 2:16:32Speaker 2: what you? WILL i, mean can they not use that?
- 2:16:34Speaker 8: Information they would be able to use the, information Would,
- 2:16:37Speaker 8: yeah as long as there's been a, conviction they would
- 2:16:39Speaker 8: be able to use the. Information.
- 2:16:39Speaker 6: Now somebody also texted us at seven seven zero three
- 2:16:42Speaker 6: one saying that there is no parole.
- 2:16:44Speaker 8: Or in a trial like, this oftentimes the court's not
- 2:16:49Speaker 8: going to be lenient in the sentencing and open leave
- 2:16:52Speaker 8: the door open for good.
- 2:16:53Speaker 2: Behavior calls with this damage based.
- 2:16:56Speaker 8: Off of WHAT i know of the, evidence which you
- 2:16:58Speaker 8: know is not as in depth as it could. Be,
- 2:17:01Speaker 8: uh you, KNOW i would SAY i would probably take this.
- 2:17:03Speaker 8: CASE i think it's an interesting. ISSUE i think anytime
- 2:17:06Speaker 8: you're dealing with any type of reconstruction from an accident
- 2:17:10Speaker 8: or from a, fire there's always the possibility that your expert,
- 2:17:15Speaker 8: prevails where your expert is more, persuasive the jury understands
- 2:17:20Speaker 8: what they have to say. Better BUT i do think
- 2:17:22Speaker 8: that this is definitely an uphill battle where you, know
- 2:17:25Speaker 8: again trying to convince the jury of your peers that
- 2:17:28Speaker 8: you had nothing to do with. This if, apparently if
- 2:17:30Speaker 8: there's thousands of images and and AND i just remember one.
- 2:17:33Speaker 8: Search so if there's, THOUSANDS i, mean that's that's not looking.
- 2:17:37Speaker 2: Good what is THE i, MEAN i Don't you don't
- 2:17:38Speaker 2: have to answer this if you don't want, to but,
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: YEAH i. DON'T i don't know what the protocol is
- 2:17:41Speaker 2: THAT i don't want to be offensive BECAUSE i don't
- 2:17:43Speaker 2: know when you.
- 2:17:44Speaker 8: It's easier to use that as an. Example so they
- 2:17:47Speaker 8: come to me and they, say this is What i'm
- 2:17:48Speaker 8: being charged. With and here's the THING i Think i'm
- 2:17:51Speaker 8: going through and making sure THAT i get a good
- 2:17:54Speaker 8: understanding of who this person. Is i'm probably gonna tell
- 2:17:57Speaker 8: them to take some type of action up front to
- 2:18:00Speaker 8: try to mitigate how how they, look maybe in the public.
- 2:18:04Speaker 8: Eye and depending on how receptive they are to some
- 2:18:06Speaker 8: of those suggestions and some of the ADVICE i give.
- 2:18:09Speaker 2: Them do you interview their friends and? Family? Oh, absolutely
- 2:18:11Speaker 2: you go and say obviously facebook and social media, History
- 2:18:15Speaker 2: but then you go to their closest friends and, say,
- 2:18:17Speaker 2: HEY i, mean does your, guy did your guy ever
- 2:18:19Speaker 2: show any? Propensity do you ever talk about studying? Fires
- 2:18:21Speaker 2: did he seem to have a fascination with things? Burning
- 2:18:24Speaker 2: Or i'll tell you, what even more than friends and.
- 2:18:26Speaker 8: FAMILY i go to their employers and former employers because you,
- 2:18:29Speaker 8: know a lot of times that's where you show yourself
- 2:18:32Speaker 8: and you, know if there's you, know those, signs usually
- 2:18:35Speaker 8: the employers will see it before their parents will or
- 2:18:38Speaker 8: let abi.
- 2:18:39Speaker 2: That you want me to want to admit to, It,
- 2:18:40Speaker 2: yeah less appt to cover for them as a family
- 2:18:42Speaker 2: member as.
- 2:18:43Speaker 8: Well, yeah, Right So i've talked to. Employers neighbors are sometimes,
- 2:18:48Speaker 8: helpful just kind of depending on the. Situation i've had,
- 2:18:53Speaker 8: teachers you, know especially when somebody has been you, know,
- 2:18:56Speaker 8: younger have teachers come in and, say, hey he's a
- 2:18:59Speaker 8: really good. Kid they had a hard you, know hard,
- 2:19:01Speaker 8: life and you know they deserve a second. Chance stuff like. That, no,
- 2:19:06Speaker 8: YEAH i MEAN i don't DO i don't do as
- 2:19:09Speaker 8: much criminal defense AS i used to do in a past.
- 2:19:11Speaker 8: Life but, yeah maybe like five or ten percent cases
- 2:19:14Speaker 8: WHERE i go through that kind of detail up the.
- 2:19:16Speaker 8: Front most of the time it's it's on the back.
- 2:19:18Speaker 3: End.
- 2:19:18Speaker 2: Yeah but you could even have that with the. Divorces
- 2:19:20Speaker 2: right if somebody you and they want a divorce and
- 2:19:21Speaker 2: they're telling you one side of the story and you
- 2:19:22Speaker 2: get out of, this you, know to my. Side interesting,
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: MAN i wonder what's gonna happen with this. Case you
- 2:19:27Speaker 2: brought up a very good. POINT i would have never.
- 2:19:29Speaker 2: CAN i, MEAN i thought they had him dead. NUTS i,
- 2:19:30Speaker 2: mean you, Know depp says they do have a lot of.
- 2:19:32Speaker 2: Evidence But i'm interested to see what that what happens,
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: there and then of course after the fact In, california
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: obviously there's he's got no way to pay back any
- 2:19:39Speaker 2: of the, money so there's no restitution coming his, way
- 2:19:41Speaker 2: coming their. Way so very interesting. STUFF i always, continue,
- 2:19:44Speaker 2: buddy go to SEE i getting this very trently One

- 2:21:15Speaker 2: On saturday or On wednesday to talk about the whole
- 2:21:18Speaker 2: thing with the property. Taxes and he's the first. One
- 2:21:21Speaker 2: i've reached out to a number of mayors throughout the
- 2:21:22Speaker 2: area to kind of find out how it's gonna affect
- 2:21:25Speaker 2: them or if they're for. It EVERYTHING i see online
- 2:21:28Speaker 2: not a lot of small municipality leaders for this property tax.
- 2:21:32Speaker 2: THING i read a lot more about it this. WEEKEND I,
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: mean there are arguments on both, sides for, sure but,
- 2:21:38Speaker 2: man the ones THAT i pay attention to the most
- 2:21:39Speaker 2: are the ones from little towns that have no industry
- 2:21:42Speaker 2: to create. Revenue their property taxes are the only revenue
- 2:21:45Speaker 2: they make to create things like parks and take care
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: of the infrastructure in their area and things of that,
- 2:21:50Speaker 2: nature and.
- 2:21:51Speaker 5: High hot works for the fourth Of.
- 2:21:52Speaker 2: JULY i just don't know how they're going to make
- 2:21:54Speaker 2: up those budgets. Shortfalls but you, know maybe one of
- 2:21:56Speaker 2: these mayors will check in and, Say, hey this is
- 2:21:58Speaker 2: how we're going to do, it and then we'll. Know
- 2:22:00Speaker 2: because In. November you will be voting for it for
- 2:22:03Speaker 2: sure that you get some. News, yeah let's get it

- 2:22:23Speaker 2: confirmed with the earthquake that happened and right around two
- 2:22:25Speaker 2: pm on Your cuba that there is no tsunami.
- 2:22:28Speaker 6: Threat so no reports of damage In florida from the
- 2:22:31Speaker 6: quake measuring at six point one magnitude six point. One
- 2:22:35Speaker 6: some office workers and taller buildings felt the tremor and
- 2:22:38Speaker 6: were briefly, evacuated including The region's building in Downtown.
- 2:22:42Speaker 5: Orlando but kudos to.
- 2:22:44Speaker 2: Moving back and forth for about seconds you.
- 2:22:46Speaker 5: Watched it was a CRAZY tv swinging swing on the.

- 2:23:07Speaker 6: Wow now down In South, florida there's an investigation Near
- 2:23:11Speaker 6: hollywood beach where a flight attendant's body washed.
