- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to The Mark Simone Show, live from the
- 0:04Speaker 1: WOR LifeVac studios. Hey, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is
- 0:13Speaker 1: the number. 800-321-0710. Let's go to Chris in West Hampton. Chris,
- 0:20Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I'm okay, thanks.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Have a good weekend?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I really want to know.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Oh, good.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Okay. And what's going on in West Hampton? You ever
- 0:29Speaker 1: go to that new Donahue's that just opened?
- 0:32Speaker 2: No, I don't go there. There's two good restaurants that
- 0:34Speaker 2: I like. There's Baby Moon and Tres Diamante, which is
- 0:37Speaker 2: a Spanish restaurant.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Well, Donahue's, though, is a legendary restaurant, 64th and Lexington.
- 0:42Speaker 1: They closed and they moved to West Hampton. It's called
- 0:44Speaker 1: Donahue's East. Go try that.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Well, okay.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I never ate in it when it was in Manhattan,
- 0:49Speaker 2: but anyway. Two things I want to ask you about.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I know you have a great.
- 0:53Speaker 2: This guy's always in panic. Yes, I'm not happy. I'm panicking, yes.
- 0:56Speaker 4: He's always in panic.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I'm panicking about Ilhan Omar.
- 0:58Speaker 1: About what?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Ilhan Omar. You remember a couple... In July, I called
- 1:03Speaker 2: and I asked you why nothing was being done about her,
- 1:05Speaker 2: if she did marry her brother, if she was involved
- 1:08Speaker 2: in the Medicare fraud, and you told me not to
- 1:10Speaker 2: worry about it, that they're looking into it.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And I said, well, they're waiting for November because we're
- 1:15Speaker 2: going to get smoked in November. Why is nobody doing
- 1:19Speaker 2: this Tim Walz stuff and all the fraud?
- 1:22Speaker 1: They are.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But who's the day?
- 1:25Speaker 1: The government, Justice Department. People are getting busted day and
- 1:28Speaker 1: night in the Medicaid fraud.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Okay, if Ilhan married her brother, is that immigration fraud?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Calm down. You know where you are right now? You're
- 1:38Speaker 1: in West Hampton. I don't know if you know this.
- 1:40Speaker 1: They have a beach there.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to the beach later on. I went
- 1:43Speaker 2: yesterday and I went today.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I want you to go to the beach and I
- 1:46Speaker 1: want you to put on some music and I want
- 1:48Speaker 1: you to relax. I don't want you to sit there
- 1:50Speaker 1: and go into panic about Elon, Omar. They'll get to it.
- 1:53Speaker 3: But it's not.
- 1:53Speaker 2: But we're going to get killed. Everything Trump is doing
- 1:56Speaker 2: is going to get reversed. Never mind they're going to
- 1:57Speaker 2: tear down the ballroom.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Okay, there's proof right there that he's going to win big.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Anytime you say he's going.
- 2:02Speaker 3: To lose, he always wins big.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I hope you're right, but I'm not wrong.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You're always wrong every time. It never fails.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Food is so expensive.
- 2:09Speaker 3: No, it's not.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Gas is expensive. No, it's not. Yes, it is. No,
- 2:12Speaker 2: it's not.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Gas is cheaper now than it was in the George W.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Bush administration, literally.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Okay, let's wait, okay? Because oil is up again for
- 2:21Speaker 2: another $ 2 or something.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I was just looking.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I look at something different.
- 2:25Speaker 3: The crude oil is not over.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Let's check the record. We don't want to do this
- 2:28Speaker 1: to you, but we could record you every election. You're
- 2:30Speaker 1: always 100% wrong every time.
- 2:33Speaker 2: From your mouth to God's ears.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You are the most reliable reverse barometer. You remember last
- 2:39Speaker 1: time around you told me we were going to lose
- 2:40Speaker 1: the whole thing.
- 2:41Speaker 2: With the abortion, yes. I still can't believe it. I
- 2:43Speaker 2: said that last time. I can't believe that that was
- 2:45Speaker 2: not a bigger issue. Well, it's true.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Everybody in New York was bringing their daughters.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You've got to calm down. This is some kind of
- 2:51Speaker 1: mental thing with you. You can look at actual data
- 2:54Speaker 1: and metrics. You don't have to just guess. At the time,
- 2:57Speaker 1: abortion was not coming up as an issue with any voters.
- 2:59Speaker 1: It was like number 17 on the list of issues
- 3:02Speaker 1: in every survey, every poll, every study. Now, not only that,
- 3:08Speaker 1: abortion has nothing to do with the president. He has
- 3:11Speaker 1: no say whatsoever about abortion anywhere.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Right, but it had to do with the Republicans. And
- 3:16Speaker 2: just like Trump is saying, vote like I'm on the
- 3:18Speaker 2: ballot right now.
- 3:18Speaker 1: The Republicans have nothing to do with abortion. It's a
- 3:21Speaker 1: local issue now. The Congress has nothing to do with
- 3:23Speaker 1: abortion anymore. It's a local issue now.
- 3:27Speaker 3: All right. Well, anyway, thank you.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You're my favorite show, no matter what. Not that there's
- 3:30Speaker 2: ever been anything wrong, but, you know.
- 3:32Speaker 1: All right. Thanks for calling.
- 3:34Speaker 3: All right. Take care.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Thanks. He's a nice guy, but you can listen to
- 3:36Speaker 1: any show anywhere on any station. He's calling up, and
- 3:40Speaker 1: at the end, you're my favorite show. Nice guy, though.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Let's go to Blauvelt in Florida. Blauvelt, how are you doing?
- 3:47Speaker 3: Hello.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Oh, man, he's a good caller, that guy, Chris.
- 3:51Speaker 1: He's a good caller, but you hear him on every station,
- 3:53Speaker 1: every show. You can put on WBZ in Boston. There
- 3:57Speaker 1: he is calling Dan Ray. Every show.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I haven't called in a while. I hope you haven't
- 4:02Speaker 4: missed me that much.
- 4:03Speaker 1: We did.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Hey, listen, what is the real story behind Maria?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Well, the real story is she's always had a rocky
- 4:12Speaker 1: relationship with management. She's a very nice person in real life,
- 4:17Speaker 1: but at work she's always, I don't know, she's always
- 4:19Speaker 1: in a clash with management. Ratings weren't so good. I mean,
- 4:23Speaker 1: they were okay, but not big. I mean, Varney gets
- 4:26Speaker 1: much bigger ratings. Kudlow gets enormous ratings.
- 4:29Speaker 4: I watched her every morning. I prefer that over Fox
- 4:32Speaker 4: and Friends.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's a different type of show. Fox and Friends is
- 4:36Speaker 1: more for the general public. This was more for, you know,
- 4:39Speaker 1: the investor class, but... It's a small audience she had,
- 4:43Speaker 1: but a very good audience. She was always pushing the
- 4:47Speaker 1: envelope with questionable stories, the China AI centers. There was
- 4:52Speaker 1: a Kevin O'Leary segment that Fox had to issue multiple
- 4:55Speaker 1: apologies for.
- 4:56Speaker 4: You mentioned O'Leary. I heard him on an interview and
- 4:59Speaker 4: he's talking about he's trying to open up a data
- 5:02Speaker 4: center out in Ohio. And he says these things don't
- 5:05Speaker 4: use any water more than water than a golf course.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Well, that's true.
- 5:10Speaker 4: There's Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, one by one, they're solving all the problems.
- 5:15Speaker 1: The water, they figured out how to recycle it. They
- 5:18Speaker 1: don't use that much water. Good, good, good. Energy, they're
- 5:21Speaker 1: figuring out how to power themselves.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Could you do me a favor? Could you ask Vincent,
- 5:27Speaker 4: what are the names of the little pepper biscuits at
- 5:29Speaker 4: Adio's Bakery in Arthur Avenue in the Bronx? I can't
- 5:33Speaker 4: remember the name of those things. The little pepper biscuits
- 5:36Speaker 4: at Adio's Bakery.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I don't mean to... sound like a genius. I mean,
- 5:41Speaker 1: this is the most brilliant thing in the world I've
- 5:43Speaker 1: come up with. You ever think of calling the Adios
- 5:45Speaker 1: Bakery and saying, what are the names of those biscuits?
- 5:50Speaker 1: If you know the name of the bakery, look up
- 5:51Speaker 1: the number and call them.
- 5:54Speaker 4: I'd rather hear it from Vincent.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Oh, I mean, if you know the bakery, go to
- 5:58Speaker 1: their website, go to their Instagram. I'm sure it's right
- 6:01Speaker 1: on their menu there. Anyway, let's go to Rich in
- 6:04Speaker 1: Myrtle Beach. Rich, how you doing?
- 6:06Speaker 3: Hey, thanks, Mark. You know, you're right. The Costco hot
- 6:09Speaker 3: dog is the best hot dog in the world. It's
- 6:10Speaker 3: even better than the Nathan's. I'm not thrilled with the
- 6:13Speaker 3: bun because they're steamed. No, but it's a beautiful bun.
- 6:16Speaker 1: It's got great flavor in it.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's got a nice flavor, but I like them toasted,
- 6:20Speaker 3: you know, but they don't do that. But the pizza
- 6:21Speaker 3: I wouldn't eat, but the sundae is my next thing
- 6:23Speaker 3: on the agenda. You know, we're down here in Myrtle
- 6:26Speaker 3: Beach in the land of golf courses. You see Sprinkles
- 6:28Speaker 3: does have gallons of water every minute all over the
- 6:31Speaker 3: streets and all over the golf courses down here, so
- 6:33Speaker 3: I'm not worried about the data centers. But, you know,
- 6:35Speaker 3: we're down here in Myrtle Beach. Gas is supposed to
- 6:38Speaker 3: be $ 2. 50 down here. It's $ 3. 60 to $ 3. 69 to $ 3. 72.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It changes sometimes three or four times a day. If
- 6:44Speaker 3: Trump doesn't get this gas price under control by the
- 6:47Speaker 3: end of September, he's going to blow the midterms for it.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Not necessarily. Gas prices were much, much, much higher during
- 6:54Speaker 1: the Biden administration.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And, uh, but that's apples and oranges because Biden was
- 6:59Speaker 3: a dope. Trump promised us cheaper gas has started to
- 7:02Speaker 3: come down. He got involved with Iran, which I fully support,
- 7:05Speaker 3: but either wrap this thing up in Iran or get
- 7:07Speaker 3: out of it, but just bomb the hell out of
- 7:09Speaker 3: them and get rid of everybody. They all want to
- 7:11Speaker 3: die anyway. Yeah. To make an omelet, you got to
- 7:15Speaker 3: kill a few citizens, but they all got to go.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I understand. But you got to remember, uh, we've been
- 7:19Speaker 1: through this before with the straight, the straight home roots
- 7:21Speaker 1: always closes in every war. Uh, A good example was
- 7:24Speaker 1: the Iraq War. They closed the Strait of Hormuz. Gas
- 7:27Speaker 1: had been $ 60 a barrel. And when the Strait of
- 7:31Speaker 1: Hormuz closed, panic set in. It went to $ 100 a barrel,
- 7:35Speaker 1: $ 110 a barrel. But once the whole thing got settled,
- 7:38Speaker 1: it not only went back to $ 60, it plunged to
- 7:40Speaker 1: $ 40 a barrel. You had the cheapest gas ever. So
- 7:43Speaker 1: once they wrap up the Iran thing, which could happen
- 7:45Speaker 1: at any point, it'll not only go back down, it'll plunge.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It always does that after. Every time it increases like this. Hey,
- 7:52Speaker 1: when we come back, Bill O'Reilly. We'll talk to Bill
- 7:55Speaker 1: O'Reilly next on 710WOR.
