- 0:03podcast. Woo.
- 0:04Wow, what was that? Was like crashed into his mic.
- 0:10Sound like a gargoyle noise I I. Was trying to do my woo in a
- 0:16normal fashion and then I heard what you sound, the sound you
- 0:20made and I was just confused. I just made a little wow.
- 0:24It was more that. He's done a lot crazier than
- 0:28that, honestly. I have, I'm have.
- 0:29I'm surprised. I'm.
- 0:30It's it's these unique, unique pitches that he's able to.
- 0:35They don't comment through go for nothing.
- 0:37Ohhhhh my God. Alright, let's let's dive in.
- 0:41We've got a lot to cover today. Yeah, so today we gonna be doing
- 0:46our Week 2 news and updates episode along with some would
- 0:51you rathers at the end, which is always a nice spicy segment.
- 0:54It's a favorite. On into the season.
- 0:56This is like Week 1 and Week 2. It's our first news episode.
- 0:59Like kind of both. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:03First one of the season, which is cool.
- 1:05Before we dive in, you could find us on Spotify, Apple
- 1:07Podcast, wherever you get your podcasts.
- 1:09Rate US five stars if you like what you hear.
- 1:11And we are also new to Discord, so definitely join the Discord
- 1:14community and you can find the link tree to that and all of our
- 1:17socials in the podcast description.
- 1:20Basically, these are news stories from around the league
- 1:22and we're going to kind of dive into the fantasy ramifications
- 1:25that each one of them has. Could be something that seems
- 1:30small that could end up having like, you know, a lot of
- 1:32significance further down. So we're going to dissect that
- 1:35some contracts, extensions, etc, and what that can actually mean
- 1:38for deployment. There's a lot of value in this,
- 1:40so stay. Tuned and yeah, lots of
- 1:43hundreds. But.
- 1:46Not to be confused with Timbits. I don't think anyone was, but
- 1:54good, good, good point, Kevin. It's.
- 1:56Pretty out there. All right, so we dive into some
- 1:59tidbits. Yes, all right, bits we shall
- 2:02have. I don't know if this is a
- 2:04tidbit, this is like a gigantic bit, but Connor McDavid, the
- 2:09second best Connor Mick in the league, reassigns with Edmonton.
- 2:12Two years, 12.5 million. What a crazy, crazy underpay.
- 2:20He clearly only cares about winning super huge respective.
- 2:24Every team wishes that their star player would do this.
- 2:26But the two years is very interesting, right?
- 2:28He's like, I'll take the pay cut, but we have to win in the
- 2:31next two years. Obviously kicks in after this
- 2:33year. So it's really three-year
- 2:34window. But he's telling them, look,
- 2:36I'll use that money to build us a winning team.
- 2:39But I saw a funny quote by him actually, he was like, he was
- 2:43like, Lenny's not going to go hungry with the few with the
- 2:45with that money. So I'm not worried.
- 2:47Lenny's dog so. I was toward the waiver wire for
- 2:52Leddy I couldn't find. It.
- 2:53Yeah, it's lady, calls Leon. I don't know, would be the worst
- 2:58nickname, but yeah, I mean I. Just go ahead.
- 3:02Why would you take this amount of money?
- 3:04That's like the suspicious thing.
- 3:06Obviously it's pretty good. He could have made more of a
- 3:0812.5. It's still a lot like.
- 3:10I mean he's not gonna take a mil like he's.
- 3:13Still no, obviously, but. Like bug but.
- 3:16You're saying you're taking 10? Yeah, 910.
- 3:19Why not? I mean, it's 2 1/2.
- 3:21Two years, that's all. I mean, he's also like, it's his
- 3:26life and he only has so many playing years in him, right?
- 3:28He's got to maximize his earnings and he's already taking
- 3:31a pay cut. So you can't be like, why do you
- 3:32take more of a pay cut? He's probably like, weird.
- 3:36Balance. Illinois, the last in the league
- 3:38and he's taking 12.5 and we. Took 16 mil right?
- 3:42No Westerville 16 or 17 mil. 16 1/2.
- 3:48OK so McDavid taking 4 mil less than Kaprizov is a ridiculous
- 3:52pay cut. I don't think anyone anyone what
- 3:55about trying to take a bigger pay cut?
- 3:58Yeah, Crosby's obviously massive, but it's not the same.
- 4:00But Crosby was doing it in an era where the cap was lower as
- 4:05well. Yeah, so.
- 4:07Yeah, he's also like 38. Yeah, I know.
- 4:10I don't know. I just feel like it's like a
- 4:11weird balance. At the end of the day, it's a
- 4:13really great thing that he did this.
- 4:14Just I don't know if it's. The needle really good, 6 to $8
- 4:19million. You could have asked for 20 mil,
- 4:22yeah. Yeah, but what, what are they
- 4:24going to do with this extra money as my.
- 4:26Sign somebody? Yeah, get a goalie.
- 4:28Maybe. That's you don't think the other
- 4:32two and a half million would have worked?
- 4:33I don't know. To me, it's still, it's a great
- 4:36move. It's noble.
- 4:37It's a good. Idea.
- 4:37You hear this, Connor McDavid? You should think less money.
- 4:42It's like like 10 versus 12 1/2 would could make the difference
- 4:46between signing like a really good player and like a mix
- 4:49player. I don't know.
- 4:50I think they. Still running really good player
- 4:52with the savings or making the 12.5, especially given the cap
- 4:56is gonna go up significantly in the next couple of years as
- 4:58well. Like I just think it skills
- 5:00really well. The biggest honestly the fantasy
- 5:04ramifications from this deal like whether you think it's
- 5:08direct or indirect, but this shows me more about like the
- 5:12mindset of McDavid this season and it's win at all costs pretty
- 5:17much like these next three years.
- 5:19All he cares about is winning. I I, if you follow us on TikTok
- 5:23like I made a post about this, but like I can really see
- 5:27McDavid dropping like his career year this year if it's in the
- 5:31cards if he's healthy like that just kind of seems what he's
- 5:33determined to do. Does that sway me from taking
- 5:36him second overall instead of a McKinnon?
- 5:39Like I don't think so. I still think like the the
- 5:41playoff schedule edges me out there, but yeah, I just.
- 5:47He's going to be a beast this year.
- 5:48He's going to be a beast this year.
- 5:49I'm I really want exposure to the power play now and I don't
- 5:52have any so. Yeah, same good year to have dry
- 5:56slightly, Jakey. Yes, it's gonna be nice.
- 6:00Yeah, we'll see how it goes. It's just the the length of the
- 6:04contract is really the glaring elements of him being able to
- 6:07have an insane year. It doesn't mean that he's not
- 6:09gonna be signed in two years. It just means that he's gonna
- 6:11get what he's worth in two years.
- 6:14Yeah, might take. That point, it could have just
- 6:17taken 2 1/2 less, but whatever. Alright.
- 6:22OK, let's go to #2. Alright, Mackenzie Blackwood is
- 6:26day-to-day and missed the first game of the season, but he's
- 6:28back to practicing with the main group and should be back soon.
- 6:31In the meantime, look at Scott Wedgewood to take the load.
- 6:35He definitely taking the load but.
- 6:38Oh my God, I knew right? When I said it, you set me up on
- 6:41me. You set me up.
- 6:43But I mean, listen, Wedgwood is one of the better backups in the
- 6:46league. I feel like you can be confident
- 6:48that when Blackwood is coming back on the ice because they're
- 6:51fully confident in his health, because they're they're very
- 6:54happy with Wedgwood guarding the crease in his absence.
- 6:57So definitely monitor that. Does this make me somewhat
- 7:01concerned about Blackwood's, you know, his potential health
- 7:05throughout the whole season? It definitely gives me like an
- 7:09asterisk next to him being like, well, you might see this be
- 7:12something that lingers. He had surgery in May.
- 7:15Like nobody knew about that. But that's kind of why this
- 7:18process has been longer than anticipated.
- 7:20And he's been known for being an injury riddled goalie in the
- 7:24past. So just having to keep an eye on
- 7:26it. I know I'm more, my eyes are
- 7:28kind of glued to the situation because I have Scott Wedgewood
- 7:30and I got good value on him. But Blackwood, when he's
- 7:34healthy, he should be the guy. Yeah, he got the money for it
- 7:38and it. Was that money?
- 7:39Being here. Yeah, exactly.
- 7:41George had him. I mean, you could speak to him
- 7:43more than me, but no, he's. Unreal.
- 7:45If he's healthy, there's no question in my mind that he's
- 7:47easily the one and not in one age.
- 7:49Just a full 1 goalie. I wouldn't be surprised if
- 7:51Wedgewood gets more starts this year than you did last though.
- 7:54The only reason my mind Wedgwood getting more starts is if
- 7:57they're trying to load managed Blackwood because he's not full
- 7:59yield. That's the only reason.
- 8:01Injury aside, Blackwood's the clear number one and no question
- 8:04about that. And he would get a full full #1
- 8:06load but. But why do you keep doing?
- 8:09That I don't know. It's just I can't think of one
- 8:11other. Word you say workload OK.
- 8:14Yeah. I'm sorry I didn't get that load
- 8:18baby. Sorry.
- 8:19Anyways. No, I just said our.
- 8:21Viewers aren't as dirty minded as you Kevin.
- 8:23And that they knew what I meant. Oh, they should hear you guys
- 8:25talk about off the pod so. Yeah, so, so Scott is giving
- 8:31them all the wood they need and that's basically it.
- 8:35Oh my God. OK, moving on #3 GOAT of all
- 8:41time drop offs in players. I don't know if that makes
- 8:46sense. Anyways, Jonathan Hooper dough
- 8:47is on IR. Yeah, I don't know what people
- 8:51expect from this year, but an injured start is not the
- 8:54resurgence people are hoping for.
- 8:55Expect Farabee to take his spot on power play one in his
- 8:58absence. Yes, Jackie, I know you
- 8:59mentioned Farabee and we laughed at you, so you can revel in it
- 9:04for a little. Bit reveling that was the.
- 9:07Anyway, here's Wonderwall of of transitions.
- 9:12That was the way that you described those funny, sad.
- 9:14Yeah, yeah, it's it's like a massive drop off.
- 9:17Obviously he was one at one point.
- 9:19Amazing. And now Huberdeau was really
- 9:22just like a nothing asset for fantasy.
- 9:25I'm not super high by any means on Farabi.
- 9:30I don't know how great this power play specifically is going
- 9:32to be, but it's a nice thing to know that he's there, that
- 9:35there's not much. There.
- 9:38Yeah, it's like it makes him. Wrong.
- 9:40He has a warm, super warm. Present It's your emotional
- 9:42support therapy. This really doesn't change too
- 9:46much for me, like about Calgary and the fantasy outlook there.
- 9:49Do you, do you guys see anything significant here at all?
- 9:52No, no, I I think this Calgary team has a lot of young guys
- 9:56that are kind of like on waivers in your leagues that could have
- 9:59some values like the fair bees, the frost sharing Govich, like
- 10:04those type of guys that I'm sure some of them will be fantasy
- 10:06relevant this season, mostly in your deeper leagues.
- 10:09But as well, while Humberto was out like he's the line 1P1 kind
- 10:13of guy. That's a lot of minutes to go
- 10:14around. Whoever's gonna get that spot.
- 10:16You gotta take a look. So.
- 10:18Yep, Yep, just go to the next. Alright, UPL, UCO, Pekka
- 10:24Lucanian 6K is week to week with an injury.
- 10:28Alex Lyon should be the starter in his absence.
- 10:31Georgiev got picked up to be the backup while UPL was injured.
- 10:35And then when you have the chance to grab Colton Ellis off
- 10:39waivers, you just gotta take it. And so gone.
- 10:43And Colton Ellis is the backup. But yeah, Alex Line should be
- 10:48the starter until UPL comes back.
- 10:50And Kevin drafted UPL as his only healthy goalie this year.
- 10:54And then like 2 days after the traffic got hurt so.
- 10:57So we're all having a good time. Last preseason game he got hurt.
- 11:01Lions not a bad backup. He'll be serviceable.
- 11:04Not gonna win a lot of games. I don't know how much this
- 11:08actually changes and I would say he's roster able in the meantime
- 11:12you could do. Worse.
- 11:13Yeah. I mean, while UPS out, he'll
- 11:14have the lions share the starts. Were you sitting on that one?
- 11:18I just came to me and I was like, gotta get that in there.
- 11:22Deepened puns. Yeah.
- 11:26I was gonna make a load joke when he taught when he said he
- 11:28just came to him, but anyways. I moving on.
- 11:33Actually, first of all, I will say if you can stash UPL on your
- 11:36IR, I would highly consider doing that.
- 11:38I feel like Buffalo is one of those sneaky teams that people
- 11:40are either like projecting lots into division or like a fringe
- 11:43playoff team. So in this early season window
- 11:47where we're not really sure where they're going to land,
- 11:49like getting a golden like QPL who has some potential to be
- 11:52actually a good goalie and just stash him on your IR is not the
- 11:55worst move. Yep.
- 11:57Yep. Alright, so you were asking
- 12:00where that Connor McDavid money goes and this next piece of news
- 12:03should tell you. Edmonton resigned Jake Walman to
- 12:06a 7 * 7 mil contract and people's reactions were like oh
- 12:11that's a good deal. In my mind I'm like this is a
- 12:13huge overpay and I like Walman but I don't know what you guys
- 12:16think of this. I think that if he took the
- 12:18extra 2 and a half million off they could have gone Luke
- 12:21Hughes. So literally, so that's what I
- 12:26think that's almost Jackson Company exactly.
- 12:31Exactly. Yeah, sorry Kevin, I just
- 12:33needed. To you had some valuable input.
- 12:37What I was going to say is I feel like this is a if you're
- 12:39looking at Jake Walman and like his underlying metrics, like
- 12:42he's actually like a really good NHL defenseman.
- 12:45So I'm not surprised. I mean, could he have gone like
- 12:48between 5:00 and 6:00? Like, yeah, but seven years?
- 12:51I think they're just like locking down a top 4 defenseman
- 12:54on their roster. And I think it's good for them,
- 12:57for them as a team. I think also one thing to note
- 13:00is the whole rising cap thing. So a lot of these contracts that
- 13:02are getting signed this year might seem kind of crazy, but
- 13:05then with the rising cap, they're not going to look that
- 13:07yet. So that is one thing to say
- 13:09about that. So I don't think it's as bad as
- 13:10my first reaction to it, but I saw 7 * 7 for Wallman, who's
- 13:14like your 4th D and I'm like or third, yeah, 4th.
- 13:17And I'm like, whoa, what's going on?
- 13:18But honestly, it's it's pretty solid, tidy piece of work as
- 13:21they say. And then you'll be saying.
- 13:25That woman. Yeah, you.
- 13:27Know Jake Walman the way I do, and by that I mean I played
- 13:30basketball with him randomly outside.
- 13:32One day by chance you'll know that he's a nice guy that has a
- 13:36really good locker room presence.
- 13:39And yeah, I obviously think that this is like an overpay on
- 13:43paper, but he's one of those irrelevant for most fantasy
- 13:46leagues, but very solid IRL defenseman.
- 13:49So yeah, I don't, I don't hate that he's there, but I guess
- 13:52they probably could have probably paid him 5 1/2.
- 13:55Just also just goes to show like Eiserman, like paying to get him
- 13:59off the team, he looks worse and worse every single moment.
- 14:02So the big question mark, so true.
- 14:07All right, next one. Alright, Drake Batherson was
- 14:11placed on IR but has been skating.
- 14:13Expect Shane Pinto to take his spot on P1 until he returns.
- 14:16I don't think this is a long term thing by any means.
- 14:19I think it's a week or two Max, but in the meantime if you need
- 14:22a streamer, Shane Pinto bet. On as as we as we record this
- 14:27like he's she'd been told bet on it needs to be like I don't
- 14:33think we can. That just feels wrong to say
- 14:35anyways, don't bet on the chain. Don't do it.
- 14:40But yeah, Batherson, I feel like he's just they have two games in
- 14:42Week 1. He missed the first one.
- 14:45He's probably going to play the second one as a record this like
- 14:48that hasn't happened yet. So I I think Batherson this
- 14:52season is going to be sick and I have the bathrooms in Dillon
- 14:56cousin stack so I'm hyped. About that, no, you have the
- 14:59Batherson, Dylan Cousins, Brady Kuchuk, Jake Sanderson, Stack I.
- 15:03Got 4 out of five without P1. Maybe that's the only one that I
- 15:06don't have is getting all those power plays so.
- 15:09Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 15:12So this might be nothing, but if Batherson still out when you
- 15:15hear this then Pinto could be a good replacement.
- 15:17Short term I actually like Pinto a lot and he gets shorties so.
- 15:22He's a good player. It's because of the.
- 15:25I mean, he bet on this. Yeah, exactly.
- 15:27He misses a large portion of his career that he hasn't been able
- 15:31to develop properly, but just. Can't get P1 which is why.
- 15:35He's not exactly. He's also.
- 15:37Doing High School Musical. That's actually what I was
- 15:42thinking when I. Said yeah, me too.
- 15:45OK, I'm glad we are on the same page.
- 15:47Yeah, yeah. So, so Cousins and Bothersome
- 15:51are probably gonna be the ones to play together, but there's a
- 15:54chance that Pinto may play with Batherson.
- 15:56Who knows? Nevertheless, I actually like
- 15:58Pinto and I think he can. He's not gonna stay power play
- 16:01one over Batherson, but he can make a name for himself to get
- 16:04good Einstein all year. So this could be a good
- 16:06opportunity to pick him up and potentially hold her long hold
- 16:08longer term. Yeah, if you're in a really
- 16:10deeply like, he's definitely worth looking at.
- 16:13It's really deep. Alright.
- 16:16Next we've got JT Miller and Artemi Panarin, missed training
- 16:20camp, but they're back and healthy to start the season.
- 16:23But they had a slow start their first game and the coach said
- 16:25that they're gonna have to get ramped up to get back up to game
- 16:28speed. If you have them, I would say
- 16:31even though I can't listen to my own advice, I wouldn't freak out
- 16:34after one bad game and I'll get back up to speed within a week
- 16:38or two, I think. But it's easier said than done.
- 16:41JT was my first pick, was Kevin's second pick, and I think
- 16:44we were both very unenthused with how that first game for
- 16:47them. If your name is Josh and you're
- 16:50in a league with someone named Jake, that's the only time that
- 16:53you should panic sell JT Miller. I will sell them to you for a
- 16:57tricycle. No Bugs Bunny meme.
- 17:03OK, good. I wouldn't.
- 17:05I wouldn't. That's where negotiations
- 17:08ceased. But I yeah, obviously both of
- 17:12these guys are gonna be studs. There's nothing to worry about
- 17:14here. I'm Artemin Panarin owner for
- 17:18the first time, so definitely not off to a great start in my
- 17:21fantasy week with him on my team.
- 17:24But I'm not worried about either of these guys.
- 17:26Like these guys are too important to the success of this
- 17:29Rangers team. Like they're not going to let
- 17:30what happened last year happen again this year.
- 17:32I believe in Mike Sullivan. I just think that this team may
- 17:35have made, it may take a week or two for them to get the, well,
- 17:39they said the ball rolling, but maybe the puck rolling.
- 17:41And yeah, and once that happened, I feel like it's gonna
- 17:44be all systems go. Like they just need to get some
- 17:46more, get some more time under the legs.
- 17:48On the other side of things, though, if you're not the JT
- 17:51Miller owner or Tommy Finneran owner and they have a couple
- 17:54more slow games, I'd be all over those bylaws, yeah.
- 17:56Absolutely. And then next week we'll do our
- 17:59first policy iteration of buy low, sell high.
- 18:01So those are always the spiciest ones the beginning of the season
- 18:05because people are quick to overreact to what's happening.
- 18:07So it's. Josh.
- 18:09Killed himself for those who. Can't.
- 18:11Can't you see? Not because you're blind, but
- 18:14mostly because we don't have video for this podcast.
- 18:15Yeah, mostly because you might be like this, we don't know.
- 18:21Alright, let's go to the next one.
- 18:28This one is close to Jake's heart.
- 18:30Cole Perfetti is out week to week with an ankle injury.
- 18:33Expect Alex I follow to take his P1 spot in his absence.
- 18:37Jakey, who did you curse to get all these injuries before the
- 18:42season even starts? This one is last real bull
- 18:44bleep, OK. And.
- 18:47I don't know why. I mean, last year I had horrible
- 18:49injury. Look too.
- 18:51This year, I have him and Hagel, who are both experiencing some
- 18:54injury issues. I'm not worried about Perfetti's
- 18:58production when he comes back. I'm excited about it.
- 19:00In fact, it's just like, yeah, this sucks.
- 19:03Yeah, it really sucks. We were all excited about him
- 19:06coming in and like. This right into that power play
- 19:091. Yeah, it's I'm not necessarily
- 19:13thinking that he's a young guy, and it's not like this is gonna
- 19:17make me like he's someone I really want to keep.
- 19:21So unless my IR gets flooded with absolute studs, I'm not
- 19:24dropping him week to week. Does suck, though.
- 19:27Do you know what kind of exactly Yeah, that was?
- 19:30You dropped them and then the guy wanted to lead picked them
- 19:32up. But I couldn't hold them for
- 19:34like 6 months. Like I remember you dropped him
- 19:37instead of somebody else though if I was called, yeah.
- 19:40Sure, but you ended up dropping both.
- 19:43Yeah, cause. It's as long as injury was more
- 19:45like what? What's Perfetti's timeline do
- 19:47you know? It's just week to week so I I
- 19:49feel like it's like at least two weeks.
- 19:51OK, I can. Live with not month to month, so
- 19:54it's not the end of. The world, The thing is like
- 19:56week to week, it's always like day-to-day or week to week.
- 20:00So it's like or indefinitely. But whenever it's week to week,
- 20:04like it could realistically be like 6 weeks.
- 20:06Like it's just, I wouldn't say that's the most likely scenario,
- 20:10but like there would still say week.
- 20:11Even if he was like over a month away.
- 20:13Yeah, but I think, I don't think they say week to week for like
- 20:16longer than six weeks. I.
- 20:18Think I don't know because everything some injuries like
- 20:20they're reevaluating in a couple weeks.
- 20:22So it's just like week to week. It's just like, Oh yeah, we'll
- 20:24check next week and see how he's progressing and then.
- 20:26He'll sure like it could end up happening, but if they knew like
- 20:29from the get go that it was gonna be longer than that, I
- 20:30don't think they would call it week to week.
- 20:31I. Think no, no cooked coming out.
- 20:35Day-to-day, week to week and you got cooked and I don't know if
- 20:39IR plus takes cooked but. Who should upper body quits
- 20:44hockey to become a chef? Yeah.
- 20:47Is it officially cooked? His ankle is al dente.
- 20:52God, alright, let's move on to a couple of resignings.
- 21:00So Nashville signed Luke Evangelista to a 2 * 3 mil
- 21:03contract extension. I don't know why this took so
- 21:06freaking long. Yeah, slots.
- 21:07It's just being very silly as a GM Don't ruin the relationship
- 21:12with a young guy like this. Over .5 million a year where
- 21:16your team isn't even competing. I think it's a no brainer.
- 21:18Because he just overpaid everybody on free agency last
- 21:20year, so he has to penny pinch with his young his young
- 21:23players. This year, which is the exact
- 21:24opposite thing you want to be. Doing exactly, yeah, that's a
- 21:27natural part. Would be awful this year again.
- 21:29It would have been a great addition to Edmonton if they
- 21:31were able to afford it. Anyway, yeah, not all, but
- 21:36realistically. Realistically.
- 21:39Take 9 1/2 instead of 12 1/2 so you can look.
- 21:42Eventually I'm saying there could have been Luke Evangelista
- 21:46and the Oilers, but he's actually Evangelista.
- 21:49Very good. Play.
- 21:51Yeah, I'm actually excited. He's a watchlist.
- 21:52Guy yeah, I know it doesn't seem like he could crack power play
- 21:55one, but he he can like they're not.
- 21:58This is not a sudden stone power play 1, even though the roster
- 22:01seems like it should be he's good.
- 22:03He always performs well and I'd be surprised if you're rostering
- 22:09him now, but watch this for sure like Kevin said.
- 22:12Yeah, listen, he has better deployment than Jonathan
- 22:14Marshall, so, so. Yeah.
- 22:17Marshall is playing line three with Holland Bunting and
- 22:20Evangelista is playing with a sketch Gov and Stamkos online
- 22:23too. So listen, anything can happen,
- 22:26yeah. Alright, we've got a big one
- 22:30here. Minnesota signed Philip
- 22:31Gustafson to A5 year 6.8 million contract extension.
- 22:35As bad as the Kaprizov contract is, this is an amazing contract.
- 22:40Obviously, first of all, Capri soft contract, you gotta give
- 22:43him what he wants. He's your star player and he's
- 22:44that good of a player. Obviously just held them for.
- 22:46Him. That's it exactly.
- 22:48But yeah, no, this is a really good contract for a goalie of
- 22:51his caliber. Yeah, he's a a bona fide starter
- 22:55on a very good team. And this just speaks to like
- 22:59this, this money, this term, et cetera, just speaks to the fact
- 23:03that Walstead is gonna be the backup for the next few years,
- 23:07which is very interesting because when you drop the goalie
- 23:10that high, I mean, this is not as glaringly questionable as
- 23:14what Florida did with Spencer Knight and Sergey Barowski.
- 23:18But I'm still kind of confused as to what they're thinking
- 23:21they're going to do with Walstad.
- 23:24This is just a score of 2.0 to me to be honest.
- 23:26Yeah, what do you mean with with Saros?
- 23:29Yeah, yeah. Yeah, similar idea with
- 23:32literally the exact same probably exactly.
- 23:35Yeah, I just, I don't know why you're gonna drop the gully so
- 23:37high and then do this, I guess. Whatever thing is, when you have
- 23:41a goal that's performing like you don't wanna, they're so
- 23:44volatile and anything can happen that when you have a good one,
- 23:47like, you don't wanna mess it up.
- 23:48So like, yeah, well said is a highly touted prospect, but why
- 23:50take the chance? Unlike that potential.
- 23:53Yeah, Well, you know, Gus is good.
- 23:55And like he can. Turn into anything.
- 23:56He can even turn into Gustafson. Yeah, exactly.
- 24:01Yeah, yeah, it's like it's a great IRL move and it means he's
- 24:05gonna be the number one guy this year for sure.
- 24:07So yeah, yeah, all right, this is the next one.
- 24:11Sucks for me, but seriously signs Luke Hughes to a 7 * 9 mil
- 24:16contract extension and he seems to be taking over Power Play 1.
- 24:21I think this, I don't think this is just to follow that money
- 24:23situation because Hamilton has the same contract.
- 24:25I think this is a my brother is Jackie situation and he wants me
- 24:29on Power Play 1. So put me there.
- 24:32I don't know if that's the case because last year it wasn't.
- 24:35I think it's the case. Because like he was, he was P1.
- 24:39Everything was nice in the world.
- 24:40And then like this contract got signed and instantly Luke Hughes
- 24:43became P1 so. Yeah, I mean.
- 24:47Honestly, it doesn't make much sense in the World is hilarious.
- 24:50It doesn't make much sense to me because how good the power play
- 24:54was last year and how bad the power play was the year before
- 24:56that. So and Hamilton is a power play
- 25:00quarterback. That's what he does.
- 25:02I get they want to develop like uses the futures, they want to
- 25:04develop him I guess, but why are you keeping Hamilton if you're
- 25:08not gonna play on Power Play 1? I don't know.
- 25:10At this point. Salty because I.
- 25:12Checked Yeah, in Quinn Hughes career, it was his fourth year
- 25:15that he really had like a true proper breakout.
- 25:18Even though to date like in their first three years, Quinn
- 25:22was significantly better than Luke.
- 25:24Nevertheless, it could be a decent sign, especially after
- 25:28getting paid. I don't really believe that he's
- 25:35like I think a big portion of why you got the money because
- 25:38who Quinn is more than jog because Queens also defenseman.
- 25:41Yeah, and I wouldn't be I wouldn't be panicking on Dougie
- 25:44the way you are because he could still be pretty useful.
- 25:48Yeah, yeah. Listen, we'll see.
- 25:50I. Know lots.
- 25:53Yeah, I'm not super dumb. This makes me just more high on
- 25:56Luke, which obviously means I'm less high on Dougie, but not
- 26:01like in a detrimental manner. Like you can go in hindsight and
- 26:05not have picked him, but I'm sure if he stays healthy all
- 26:07year you're gonna be happy with the production.
- 26:09This is exactly what's going to happen like 2 years ago when
- 26:13Luke Hughes started off on PP1 and all the doggie owners which
- 26:18I was one of those like that year he still put up the same
- 26:22peripherals that he always does. Like he hovers around 3:00 lots
- 26:25of game, he gets you like one hit, he gets you one block and
- 26:28he'll chip in points here and there.
- 26:30And he's actually like a very good defenseman.
- 26:32And that you're Luke Hughes was horrible on the power play and
- 26:34they still kept him there. Then the following year they put
- 26:37Dougie on there, which was last year and they're extremely
- 26:39successful. But at the end of the season
- 26:41last year when we saw Dougie was hurt, Luke, he's had that spot
- 26:43and he was very successful with it.
- 26:45So I'm not honest, I'm not not surprised that they're going
- 26:48with him. It just feels like right now
- 26:50Doug is probably still better. It's just like a preference
- 26:52thing I guess and a Jack Hughes thing maybe if you still have
- 26:56Dougie. I'm not panicking, panicking off
- 27:00the bat. I'm definitely trying to send
- 27:01some feeler offers and try to get them off your roster.
- 27:05Maybe a lateral move or honestly like a slight slight upgrade in
- 27:10the package and just not deal with that headache this year.
- 27:16Yep, yeah. Josh is the banging his head
- 27:19against the wall as I say this. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:22It's moving on, Yeah. Moving on, I love.
- 27:27Yeah, this is great. So Anaheim signed the former
- 27:31forward Jackson Lacombe to. Which used to be a forward.
- 27:35Yeah, that's a lot of people don't know that actually, but
- 27:39they signed him to an 8 * 9 mil contract extension.
- 27:43This is a clear follow that money situation.
- 27:45I mean, not that it was in doubt that he was the power play one
- 27:47QB for for Anaheim, but there were a lot of like potential
- 27:51ones nipping at his heels, right?
- 27:53People were talking about Zellweger Michkov.
- 27:55Now if there was ever any doubt, it's gone.
- 27:57Like is the guy he's there #1 defenseman for the next 8 years
- 28:01and and honestly he deserves it. Yeah, he played really well.
- 28:05Honestly, it kind of feels like they're they're paying him like
- 28:07with a projection in mind as well.
- 28:09Like he, yeah, I wouldn't say he, he's done enough on the ice
- 28:12to warrant the contract like this, but they're like banking
- 28:14on this kid like taking multiple steps up and also like the fact
- 28:18that the cap is going to go up and this number will just like
- 28:20age gracefully. Yeah 100%.
- 28:23That's what you gotta do if you really want to win the cup.
- 28:26You gotta lock down your young guys before they fully prove it.
- 28:29And I mean, it's kind of like Habs did with Slash, right?
- 28:31Was like an 8 * 8, like definitely wasn't worth it at
- 28:34the time. You hope that overtime it
- 28:37becomes worth it and it could become a huge deal.
- 28:39So I think that's definitely the right move to do, and I think
- 28:42it's gonna pay off with Become. The biggest question to me after
- 28:44these lawsuit names is Luke Hughes gets 7 * 9, Jackson
- 28:47Lacombe gets 8 * 9. What does Lane Hudson get?
- 28:49That is. The and we are, we are Montreal
- 28:51Canadiens fans, Montreal natives.
- 28:53So like big, big talking point right now.
- 28:56But I heard Ken Hughes not worried about it.
- 28:58So I'm not worried about it. Yeah, we trust.
- 29:03Yeah, I think it's gonna be a good contract in hindsight, even
- 29:09though obviously it does seem like an overpay.
- 29:12And he was great. I loved owning him last year.
- 29:16I, I, I wonder if because he used to be a forward, they'll be
- 29:22thinking that the, the career trajectory for him can be
- 29:27similar to like that of Brent Burns.
- 29:29You know what I mean? Like that's, that's like the
- 29:32most direct comp that I can think about for him.
- 29:36I would say they're betting on it, but.
- 29:40It's just like that could be like inspiration for that's
- 29:46funny, but that that could be like the inspiration for like
- 29:49where their their heads are out. It's like, oh, this guy could
- 29:51turn into doing something like that.
- 29:53Because not many have transitioned from forward to
- 29:55defenseman so successfully as we know.
- 29:58Jackson come to that. But yeah, I love it.
- 30:01I love the Ducks this year. I'm really excited.
- 30:02And Elaine Hudson, question mark.
- 30:04You're right, Kevin. I mean, who knows?
- 30:06Does he get 10? Very doesn't have to get at
- 30:08least 10. She should.
- 30:10He definitely would deserve that based on the the contracts we're
- 30:14seeing now. I guess we shall see.
- 30:17And when he does get something, it will be in our news episode,
- 30:19don't you worry. All right, next we got Winnipeg
- 30:23signed Kyle Connor to an 8 * 12 mil contract extension.
- 30:29That's like a huge. Resigning, yeah, this is well
- 30:32deserved to me. I think he's one of the most
- 30:34underrated superstars in the NHL and I do think he's deserving of
- 30:37that title. He's really, really good and has
- 30:40been the number one scoring threat on this Winnipeg team,
- 30:44which has been amazing. And they're not gonna be as good
- 30:45if you listen to our Central Division rankings.
- 30:49This is my, that was my take. But all kidding aside, like,
- 30:51he's really, really great. And I'm very excited to that he
- 30:55got the money and what they can actually do with him leading
- 30:59them. Yeah, yeah.
- 31:00I don't think this has any fantasy impact though, because
- 31:03it's very unsurprising. He was always there best player
- 31:06going into the season and he's still their best player.
- 31:09Yep. Great deal, yeah.
- 31:12Moving on, Edmonton signed Matthias Ecome to a 3 * 4 mill
- 31:15contract extension. Is that maybe some of them make
- 31:20deep in money? I think it is we're seeing a
- 31:23term on these deals. I mean, I mean woman got 7 but
- 31:27Echo for three years like that's pretty close to the timeline
- 31:30that they're going for for their win now mode.
- 31:33So that's surprising. 4 million for him I think is a good deal
- 31:36as well. Yeah, nothing crazy here, seems
- 31:39just a very solid deal. Yeah, totally IRL, nothing to do
- 31:42with fantasy. Yeah, and lastly, Vegas signed
- 31:46Jack Eichel to an 8 * 13.5. Million Another blockbuster.
- 31:50Yeah, these are huge. This is supposed to be such an
- 31:53lighting free agency, like it towards the end of the year and
- 31:57just all the big names are just getting resigned, which I mean,
- 31:59makes perfect sense because most teams don't let their massive
- 32:02names go. But still, it's a bit of a let
- 32:05down for fans of free agency. But for fans of the Golden
- 32:08Knights, it's a huge win because Eichel is that guy.
- 32:12So that's a big contract. I like it a lot.
- 32:15Yeah, I actually really, really think that Eichel is is also one
- 32:20of the most underrated superstars in the league.
- 32:22You know, like, they don't. You don't talk about him in that
- 32:24conversation. I don't know if he's ever
- 32:26actually cracked 100 points, but it easily could be a year where
- 32:31he gets there. And for the first time since
- 32:34he's been in Vegas, he's playing with a fellow superstar and
- 32:36Mitch Marner. So yeah, last year was his
- 32:38record for 94. That's why yeah, Yeah, I was.
- 32:44And I was gonna say like, I feel like Jack Eichel this year
- 32:47playing with Marner, like he could realistically have, like
- 32:50they could together have an over 100 point season each.
- 32:54Like it's in the realm of outcome, so.
- 32:55The only like kind of L in terms of fantasy, like stealing wise
- 33:00is that Michael broke out last year.
- 33:03So he's already getting priced in for not broke out, but you
- 33:06know what I mean? He took that big step last.
- 33:08You dropped him the fourth round last year, getting him in like
- 33:101-2 turn. Exactly.
- 33:12So it's like if he had waited until this year to have that
- 33:15breakout with Marner, it could have been a mega breakout and
- 33:18people could have gotten him like, you know, like for like I
- 33:22got last year. Either way, I still think he's
- 33:24gonna be sick. But I'm just saying it's a it's
- 33:25kind of funny how that worked out where he already had the
- 33:27breakout this year. So, so yeah, it's already priced
- 33:30in even with the Mariner edition.
- 33:32Alright, should we move on to our would you Rathers?
- 33:35Yes, we absolutely should and I hope you guys did not look at
- 33:38them before. I didn't peak, I didn't peak.
- 33:40And I'm thinking definitely peaked.
- 33:43I can see your face like you're lying.
- 33:44I swear I didn't break. I always go right off, give it
- 33:49to me live and I give my live reaction for the fans.
- 33:52All right, So this is a popular segment that we've been doing
- 33:55for the last year where I prepare would you rathers
- 33:59usually same position, try to cover multiple positions and off
- 34:03the top of the Dome will see what my Co hosts think.
- 34:06But number one, we're starting off spicy.
- 34:08Would you rather Sam Reinhart or Elias Peterson?
- 34:13Wow, I mean, you gotta go Reinhart.
- 34:16I I totally get why you're putting this because Reinhart
- 34:19just lost Barkov. Every sign points to him having
- 34:22a worse year than last year and could Chuck is injured as well.
- 34:26And then Peterson, we all think he's gonna have a big bounce
- 34:29back year this year. He had a pretty awful year last
- 34:31year, but I think the gap was too big, especially if your
- 34:35league counts short handed points and hits and shots and
- 34:39all that, all that good stuff. I mean, the category coverage.
- 34:42I feel like Elias Pettersson is underrated.
- 34:44They're like, I like that. I like Patterson a lot.
- 34:47He'll he'll be like a I mean last year, which was a bad year
- 34:50for him in the back that he was what like one point something
- 34:52shots, which is not great, but then like 7 faceoff wins and
- 34:55then over a hidden over a block. Yeah, forward is actually
- 34:58really, really good. So with the points I love better
- 35:01than this year. I really wanted him in the
- 35:02fourth round. He got taken 3 picks before me.
- 35:04He was going to be my number one choice in the 4th.
- 35:06But Reinhardt is a second rounder.
- 35:09I would take Reinhart. But as Reinhardt little second
- 35:11rounder even after all these injuries.
- 35:13After the injuries, I had Reinhart as an early third
- 35:16round, but I had Peterson as an early 4th rounder, so I still
- 35:19think I prefer Reinhart. Yeah, I like Ron Hearts floor a
- 35:23lot and he's proven to be super elite.
- 35:25I I don't know what to expect from the Canucks, whereas I
- 35:28think that Florida is at least gonna be solid.
- 35:32I mean, of course I don't rank them as high as I did after the
- 35:35injuries. I have since changed my mind,
- 35:38very understandably. Nevertheless, Reinhart is now
- 35:41their best player and he succeeds in this system.
- 35:46It's going to probably not be as reliable as it has been because
- 35:50he's not playing with Barkov right now.
- 35:52But you know, I I'd, I'd still take it.
- 35:56It's a safer bed to me and I feel like they have similar
- 35:58ceilings, just Reinhard as a higher floor.
- 36:00If Reinhardt averaged one point per game last season with bar
- 36:03code, what is the average this year without barcode?
- 36:06Because Sam Bennett or Anton Lundell are not the playmaker
- 36:10that Bark Off is. I.
- 36:11Think 29 like he. Isn't he's also a really good.
- 36:14Better. Yeah.
- 36:15He's also a really good player in his own right, right?
- 36:20Yeah, exactly that. Yeah, you could kinda thought.
- 36:28Yeah, yeah. But anyways, final answer
- 36:30Reinhart for me. Same here.
- 36:32All right #2 I've got 4 defensemen looking at Roman Yosi
- 36:39or Lane Hudson. Ooh, baby.
- 36:43Lynn. You know what, I'm going, I'm
- 36:46going Hudson. And I know it's crazy, but
- 36:49there's so many question marks around Yoshi and honestly, I
- 36:54think Lane is going to take a step up in terms of shots on
- 36:56goal this year. That's the biggest thing that
- 36:58would make me lean Yoshi is the shots.
- 37:01But I'm pretty confident and comfortable saying that Hudson's
- 37:04going to get more points and more power play points and it's
- 37:08just the back hats which are unexciting, whereas the OC has
- 37:11great shots. But I think that the points
- 37:13difference will be enough. Also, I think Yoshi is going to
- 37:15miss a decent chunk of time throughout the year.
- 37:17If I could guarantee you Roman Yosi plays 70 games this season,
- 37:21does that change your thought process?
- 37:2370 versus like 82 of of Hudson. I'm still going hot and 12 games
- 37:29a lot. If you give me tell me that
- 37:33Yoshi will play the full season or as many games as Hudson, then
- 37:37then I think I would take you actually.
- 37:40So the games played question then?
- 37:42Yeah, I think there's a huge question mark with that injury
- 37:44and I just don't see him with his age and the injury history,
- 37:47I don't see him playing the full year.
- 37:50Basically same answer for me, except 70 games guaranteed it.
- 37:57It just depends. Is this Yoshi of old or is this,
- 38:00you know what I mean? Like it's exactly cause even
- 38:03within a game, if you like plays the game, like maybe he'll be
- 38:06the T Higgins of hockey where he's just not gonna finish the
- 38:09game and play properly, right? Like he's still gonna be impeded
- 38:13by the injury. So I would still take Hudson, I
- 38:15guess in all of the scenarios because I believe in the hubs
- 38:18and he's going to be the centerpiece on that blue line
- 38:21for them. Even with the fact that you know
- 38:25who's been better shots blocks in his career than I think
- 38:27Hudson's going to achieve this specific year, I'd still rather
- 38:31take that healthy Lane Hudson over the questionable Roman Yoc.
- 38:37And this sounds I go Hudson, but if you guarantee healthy OC OC.
- 38:41Yeah, alright. Well, I can't guarantee healthy.
- 38:43So Hudson, it is. It is #3 you're talking about
- 38:47goalies. Would you rather Thatcher, Demko
- 38:50or UC Saros? Give me the juice.
- 38:54This is really, I mean, there's just a question of of a tandem
- 38:59versus a starter. I don't think Vancouver's gonna
- 39:01be enough better than Nashville to make it worth having a 50%
- 39:05goalie over and 100% goalie. This is a really good one,
- 39:09actually. I actually think because I think
- 39:11both teams are bad and they're both good goalies, but because
- 39:16of Demko's injury issues I would take Cyrus as well.
- 39:20Sarah was going so late in drafts and then you kind of like
- 39:23put him up against like all these other guys and you're just
- 39:25like, would you rather this guy, this guy that just comes back to
- 39:28like, Sarah's gonna play a lot of games?
- 39:29He's still a good goalie And will they be as bad as last
- 39:32year? And then you just kind of keep
- 39:34bumping them up a little bit. So I'm also on team sorrows, but
- 39:37I think if Demco kind of, you know, put the bed, his injury
- 39:42issues, like he has a higher ceiling potentially cause I
- 39:44actually think this Vancouver team can low key be like
- 39:46competitive. Yeah, I mean, you've got our
- 39:49steep pains. Well said.
- 39:55Well said. Alright, next one is a fun one,
- 39:59Alexander Ovechkin or Jason Robertson.
- 40:03Wow, I'm going with the Ovi on this one.
- 40:08It's oh, it's the the back cats for me are just, I mean, I don't
- 40:12think Robertson is a guaranteed three shots on goal get guy.
- 40:15Last year I think it was like 2.9.
- 40:17And I mean, I think it'll hover around 3:00, but he's not
- 40:21guaranteed. That doesn't do anything else
- 40:23for back cats. Ovi should get you 3 plus shots,
- 40:27one plus hits. And then the points difference I
- 40:29don't think is going to be enough.
- 40:30I do think Robertson gets more points, but I don't think it's
- 40:32going to be enough of a difference to make up for the
- 40:34back cuts. Yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna agree
- 40:38with Josh again on this one. I I know you.
- 40:42I'm actually kind of, you know, surprise because I know you're
- 40:46not as low on Robertson as Kevin is, and I also know you're not
- 40:48as high on Washington as I am. So I am kind of like, you know,
- 40:54in a way, like I'd say, I guess I'm with you on Robertson, but I
- 40:59also think that Washington's still gonna be decent.
- 41:01So I I like OHV better. I mean, you know, you know my
- 41:07answer is going to be. Yeah, for sure, Kevin would take
- 41:10our steep aides over. I wanna go that far, I wanna go
- 41:14that deep, but yeah. Yeah, there's there's a personal
- 41:18vendetta against Robertson. If you want to get the
- 41:21reference, you gotta listen to our Ice and Fire episode because
- 41:25I am not the biggest Jason Robertson fan, but nonetheless,
- 41:28I still, I still think he's obviously going to be good.
- 41:30It's just like he's getting he's getting drafted away too early
- 41:32anyways, for sure. Last one, talk about centres
- 41:36here. So Brayden Point or Mark
- 41:38Shifley? Wow, I like that one a lot.
- 41:42That's a good one. I think I gotta go with the with
- 41:44point. I think I trust the I trust the
- 41:48Kucherov run power play. I know Winnipeg was number one
- 41:51last year but but I mean they lost dealers propheties week to
- 41:56week and I don't know, there's just coaches the goat and Point
- 42:00gets to play with him. So I just trust Tampa more than
- 42:02Winnipeg to to have a better year this year.
- 42:05Yeah. And one other thing on that, I
- 42:08mean, he had kind of like a bit of a down year last year point
- 42:13if you look at it, he did. He did, but chiefly had a career
- 42:17year last year. Most points he's ever had in a
- 42:20season with 87 and 82 games, whereas Brayden Point had 42
- 42:24goals, which is awesome, 82 points, but the year before he
- 42:28had 90 and 95 points. So I just think that because
- 42:31like, you know, Kucherov is there with him and obviously
- 42:34Kyle O'Connor is a stud, but he's not Kucherov level elite.
- 42:38I would just take points. I think it's a it's a better
- 42:41floor for points, ironically, as is in the name.
- 42:46So yeah, point is my choice there.
- 42:50I also bring in point. I just feel like the point
- 42:52ceiling is too, too high. And yeah, I don't expect trade
- 42:55you to do as good as he did last year.
- 42:57So. So that's my answer.
- 43:00Kevin, I think you you gotta do better for next week.
- 43:02You can have ones where we all agree on all of them.
- 43:04Yeah, I know. Well, how about have a?
- 43:06I have a, a bonus round. I put a.
- 43:09Bonus. Round lucky number six I put
- 43:12Drake Batherson or Dylan Holloway.
- 43:16Oh I'm going with Dylan Holloway.
- 43:23Surprising absolutely no one. Yeah, I think Holloway
- 43:26definitely has the back cats edge on a bathroom.
- 43:29Not the bathroom to bad back hats guy but I think they'll
- 43:31have similar shots and Holloway will get more hits.
- 43:34And then in terms of the points I don't see it being different
- 43:36enough for the extra Holloway hits to do not outweigh it.
- 43:40I do think Jason gets more power play points though, I'll give
- 43:42you. That do not many PowerPoints
- 43:43browser single last season. I should because I had him but.
- 43:47I should .38. Yeah, that's unreal.
- 43:51Yeah. It's very solid.
- 43:56He's almost a .4. That's like, that's like
- 43:58McKinnon, McKinnon. Like you're the you're the king
- 44:01of sing, sing that and being like, it's gotta regress.
- 44:04That's like your whole thing, you see.
- 44:05That's A season average. That's not like looking that
- 44:08over a month. OK, Esper Brat, the entire year
- 44:11last year, including towards the end of the season was putting up
- 44:14crazy numbers and you're like, look at this power play
- 44:17production. There's no way this last he's
- 44:18cooked. I didn't say that.
- 44:21Does that does that reconcile to you?
- 44:25Mention that it should regress, but listen.
- 44:26They end up being a top five power play.
- 44:28So no, I love passing likes that he will get more power play
- 44:30points. I like the back cats of Holloway
- 44:33better and I think the points are not gonna be that that
- 44:36different, but I don't think you could go wrong either way.
- 44:38I will say auto has a better playoff schedule, so you can
- 44:41lean in that sense. This one I like this is there
- 44:44you go. That's.
- 44:45Think. Kevin, would you Rathers?
- 44:47That's actually the other ones were all kind of instant for me,
- 44:49but this one's a tough one. This is a points versus banger
- 44:53preference for me cuz I think, I think the shots would be
- 44:56similar. I think Holloway should average
- 44:59around the hit more, yeah, which obviously is valuable when you
- 45:02getting from a forward. Batherson has the better playoff
- 45:05schedule and I think he'll get significantly more power play
- 45:09points and I think he'll get more points.
- 45:11So to me, does that outweigh the extra hit a game?
- 45:16Yes. So that was my logic.
- 45:19That's fair. What about?
- 45:20You it's it is fair. I'm gonna go haul away and I
- 45:23also. Always.
- 45:24Always gonna get get more points just I don't necessarily believe
- 45:29that it's gonna outweigh it. That's kind of where we differ,
- 45:32Kevin, where you think that the points are gonna make the
- 45:34difference. And I just think.
- 45:35It's points are harder to get than one hit though.
- 45:39For sure. The question is how much of A
- 45:41points difference are you getting?
- 45:43Yeah, exactly. Like, do you think it's gonna be
- 45:45more than 10 points? If Batherson stays healthy for
- 45:50most of the season, like now, he's obviously has some injury
- 45:53concerns to go into the year. But like, yeah, I think it'll be
- 45:56more than 10 points. I just think the power play is
- 45:58going to be too good. I think that they can easily be
- 46:00a top five power play. Yeah.
- 46:02I mean, I hope you think that you have four or five of those.
- 46:04Yeah. Yeah, which is better for
- 46:07fantasy, but I also like the Blues power play and always
- 46:10gonna be on one of the two, you know what I mean?
- 46:13They're both gonna is on the one that is the.
- 46:15One exactly so it's gonna be way less volatile and annoying I'm
- 46:19honestly taking I have to take power play out of the equation
- 46:22for me to truly believe in Holloway more because I think
- 46:26that the factor of Batherson PowerPoints are awesome.
- 46:29I just like the fact that I'm going to rely on Holloway for
- 46:33more of a dimensional addition to my team.
- 46:35I would. Say, but the power play is
- 46:37integral to the players value because yes.
- 46:40No Yes, Eagles into. Multiple categories and it's the
- 46:43hardest thing to get. I know, but it's it's like it's
- 46:48it doesn't outweigh what he's going to be able to do in the
- 46:50Charlotte hits. So that's that's kind of it.
- 46:53Like, I think there's other guys I could think of like, you know,
- 46:57Clayton Keller, would you rather?
- 46:58Or Batherson, you know, it's like.
- 47:00Another Keller. Keller will get more shots,
- 47:02endpoints. Yeah.
- 47:03Yeah, see. That also rather Keller over
- 47:06Holloway. Would you rather OVV or
- 47:09bothersome? Ovi.
- 47:11Ovi. So are we convinced that the
- 47:17like points, not power play points that the OV hallway is
- 47:20gonna be a huge difference power play side?
- 47:24Yeah, I think Ovi gets more points than Holloway.
- 47:27OK, OK. Look at the end of the day, it's
- 47:29like what's great about Matherson is that he is on that
- 47:32staple power play one. But I still think that Holloway
- 47:34is gonna have like a big role. And if they do consolidate and
- 47:37Holloway ends up there, then I'm very confident about it.
- 47:39Nevertheless, I like the floor of what always gonna bring me
- 47:42this year. Josh had both last year and we
- 47:45now have one each of this year. So it's kind of like.
- 47:48A bonus bonus choice. Yeah, this was the hardest one,
- 47:51but I love both, honestly. I think they're both fantastic
- 47:54and he's a decent hitter. It's just the double double
- 47:57element and if it's 2.5 was for each for hallway I'm super super
- 48:01high on that. Yeah.
- 48:03So yeah, alrighty, thank you. Guys, that wraps it up.
- 48:07Thank you to everybody for listening to our week 1/2 news

- 48:28smaller part as the season goes, but you'll see it's gonna get
- 48:31even more fun. Kevin's gonna come up with even
- 48:34spice here. Would you rathers when we have a
