- 1:01Speaker 3: couple of weeks. I know it just happens to be
- 1:05Speaker 3: right before you turn the big four zero.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I'm be forty years old.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Welcome to the club. You're already forty when this comes out?
- 1:15Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm forty.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I was so forty.
- 1:20Speaker 1: This so full of hope, and I'm not really having
- 1:28Speaker 1: like big emotions about it yet. I don't know, did
- 1:30Speaker 1: you did you feel weird about forty. I can't.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I didn't feel weird. No, I didn't feel weird about forty.
- 1:35Speaker 3: And we've had this conversation. I felt very weird about thirty.
- 1:39Speaker 3: That was way more like I haven't done anything. What
- 1:43Speaker 3: am I doing with my life?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yes, Unfortunately, I feel like I'm athospot you were when
- 1:48Speaker 1: you were thirty. I'm just forty now. So that's a
- 1:50Speaker 1: little upsetting.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Maybe it's worse, so I don't.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I wasn't upset. I'm getting upset.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I gotta go.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Really sick.
- 2:03Speaker 1: No, that's what I remembered about when you turn forty.
- 2:07Speaker 1: That's just been so long. No, I'm just kidding.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Hey, dude, I can't even believe it was two years ago.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Like that picture comes up because Kelsey had all you
- 2:18Speaker 3: guys and surprise the hell out of it. Was the
- 2:22Speaker 3: coolest night. But dude, I have that picture that comes
- 2:26Speaker 3: up on my We have this Aura photograph that's like
- 2:30Speaker 3: those best things.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Such a great idea. Yeah, just huge fan.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Aura, if you need any publicity from me, which wouldn't
- 2:39Speaker 3: give you much Aura, I love it, Yeah, I love
- 2:43Speaker 3: it so much. But I see that picture and I'm
- 2:45Speaker 3: just like I can't believe those two years ago. It
- 2:47Speaker 3: blows my mind.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that is pretty wild.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Honestly, it's nuts.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It just goes so quick, it does. Yeah, I didn't
- 2:56Speaker 1: wait for someone to throw a surprise. We're having a
- 2:58Speaker 1: little shindig at Brando's.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Gonna be so fun. I love what he's doing there.
- 3:03Speaker 3: He's making it open house style.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I was like, are you throwing me a graduation party?
- 3:08Speaker 3: Is that?
- 3:10Speaker 1: But it's just like kind of and I was like, actually,
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'm okay with it. Let's we all love that sounds
- 3:14Speaker 1: kind of fun. I was like, because we're talking. I
- 3:17Speaker 1: was like, well, we gotta have it's got to be
- 3:19Speaker 1: during the day. People have kids. I was like, and
- 3:22Speaker 1: we just need to. Ah, let's just make a chill.
- 3:24Speaker 1: We'll do I think we're doing tacos in a bag.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you are delicious, delicious dude. The kids are gonna
- 3:31Speaker 3: freak and it's them.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It's gonna be great. Yeah, it's gonna be fun to
- 3:38Speaker 1: see everybody. But yeah, no big epiphanies or a large feelings.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So far. We'll see. Maybe maybe I will have lost
- 3:47Speaker 1: it by the time we're back. Do the people know
- 3:52Speaker 1: where you're going? Is that a secret tour.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm going to China for two weeks.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Amazing.
- 4:01Speaker 3: It kind of came together a little less second for us,
- 4:05Speaker 3: But yeah, we are. We're going to be hitting it
- 4:08Speaker 3: overseas and excited about it. I'm gonna hit Beijing, Shanghai
- 4:14Speaker 3: and some other cities that I'm looking forward to learning about.
- 4:18Speaker 3: I feel very underprepared just what I need to bring
- 4:23Speaker 3: and things of that nature. Then to probably google while
- 4:26Speaker 3: we're doing this what I need to bring.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But yeah, it's not like you leave tonight or anything, right.
- 4:33Speaker 3: No, but a few days long. Actually, I did just
- 4:38Speaker 3: get one of those things so I can plug my
- 4:41Speaker 3: phone in those outlet things.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I have one of the adapters i'm
- 4:46Speaker 1: looking for. You think you are in need, I just
- 4:49Speaker 1: bought one.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I'm not in need. I'll be good.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. I don't think I brought anything
- 4:54Speaker 1: crazy to China when I went. It's mostly just that
- 4:58Speaker 1: once you have that, you're pretty much good.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I wasn't worried about anything the last time, and well, yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 3: that's with the state of the world. I just I
- 5:06Speaker 3: don't know. I'm hoping for the best.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I don't think he'll need a lot of warm clothing.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I think it's going to be probably pretty spicy.
- 5:13Speaker 3: There were I think we're doing the exact same Beijing
- 5:18Speaker 3: Chorl Festival that I did back in two thousand.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yeah, said, yeah, that's so fun, dude.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And it was the hottest experience. It was so warm.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I remember, that's what ever, because it was our college
- 5:29Speaker 1: group that went. Yes, and I don't remember what you got,
- 5:33Speaker 1: like you got called in off the bench, right, like
- 5:36Speaker 1: as a basically out of school at that point.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Out of school, I was already doing stuff with home
- 5:42Speaker 3: free Tim. Tim came with me to one of the rehearsals. Well,
- 5:46Speaker 3: we all we both did we remember we all three
- 5:49Speaker 3: went up there.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Yeah that's right, Yeah, because we had with Zimzak. Was
- 5:53Speaker 1: that that one of the Zimza dinnernet. Yeah that's fun,
- 5:56Speaker 1: And that seems like a long time.
- 5:58Speaker 3: It was, yeah, almost twenty years ago.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy. But yeah, I just remember you were like,
- 6:05Speaker 1: I guess I'm going I don't know, it's like, yeah, sweet,
- 6:08Speaker 1: I was in I was like, free trip to China.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Why not? Yeah, But dude, it was so hot over there,
- 6:15Speaker 3: And it's the exact same time that We're going over
- 6:17Speaker 3: there and it'll be very warm, so so fun.
- 6:20Speaker 1: So was that before we went to Ireland?
- 6:23Speaker 3: It was it was it was like not even a
- 6:25Speaker 3: year before, not even Wow. I know I got to
- 6:28Speaker 3: go on two international trips with that choir after I left.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Amazing, I got one. So I'm I'm pleased a bunch Yep.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I was pleased too. I could have used you in
- 6:40Speaker 3: that first one. Yeah, I was with all these young
- 6:44Speaker 3: people and I felt very old. We did.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I remember feeling old even on the second one, so
- 6:48Speaker 1: I don't blame you.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fun.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Well, what a nice little trip down memory lane. There'll
- 6:53Speaker 1: be plenty more of that at my old man birthday party.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yes, I'm looking forward to it.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And we talked about weather in China, so we're really
- 7:01Speaker 1: we're doing it for this intro. Have you been watching
- 7:03Speaker 1: any movies? Right?
- 7:05Speaker 3: Dang it? Yes it was me.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I did it, not you.
- 7:08Speaker 3: You did it this time. Yeah, I'm guilty of that
- 7:11Speaker 3: all the time. I did watch a movie recently. I
- 7:16Speaker 3: saw the movie The Amateur. Oh my god.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I was going to talk about that for my stream weird,
- 7:23Speaker 1: weird it's not streaming, But I didn't have a different.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I mean it's available to rent slash Okay, I think, yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 3: I wanted to see it in the theater and yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 3: but I remember seeing the preview for this and thinking
- 7:37Speaker 3: it was such a great concept for a plot. A
- 7:40Speaker 3: cia smart guy who works at a desk wants to
- 7:43Speaker 3: go after the people who killed his wife. Yeah, and
- 7:48Speaker 3: so he like trains and you see all this in
- 7:50Speaker 3: the preview. But yeah, man, it turned out to be
- 7:53Speaker 3: even more complex. Uh. And it was a bunch of fun.
- 7:56Speaker 3: I bet that it was a great book. Yes, I
- 8:01Speaker 3: thought that was a novel by Robert Littel or Little.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I'm not sure how you say his name, And I've
- 8:08Speaker 3: never heard of that guy. He's done some things. This
- 8:12Speaker 3: came out in the eighties, I guess. But yeah, I
- 8:15Speaker 3: just thought it was really entertaining. Had a really big
- 8:18Speaker 3: cast with Ronnie mallick and Lawrence Fishburne and John Burnhal
- 8:22Speaker 3: and Rachel Brosnahan and Holt macallanny or mccallanie. I don't
- 8:27Speaker 3: know how you say his last name. I don't know,
- 8:30Speaker 3: but yeah, so many people. I was pleased. I enjoyed it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It was fun, for sure. My only complaint was, like
- 8:39Speaker 1: the really cool stuff was all in the trailer, there
- 8:43Speaker 1: wasn't a ton of extra cool stuff.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I mean, there was a lot.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Of intrigue and great acting and whatever, but the set
- 8:50Speaker 1: pieces were all in there, I felt like, which was
- 8:52Speaker 1: a little bit of a bummer, but yeah, overall, I
- 8:55Speaker 1: enjoyed it too. I liked it and maybe a tiny
- 8:58Speaker 1: bit more was like, I don't know, but I enjoyed it.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Watching it, I was just like, I wouldn't, you know,
- 9:04Speaker 1: would I tell anyone to watch this necessarily like give
- 9:08Speaker 1: my big like, yeah, go do it.
- 9:09Speaker 3: No, No, I wouldn't.
- 9:11Speaker 1: If you like those kind of movies, you're gonna have
- 9:13Speaker 1: a great time. Which is kind of my my final
- 9:17Speaker 1: verdict on it.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I think I do feel like they way underutilized John
- 9:21Speaker 3: Bernhal and Rachel Brosnahan, yes, and Laurence Fisherman for that matter.
- 9:27Speaker 3: It's very romy Mollik focused, and if I'm one hundred
- 9:34Speaker 3: percent honest, he's not my favorite actor in the world.
- 9:36Speaker 1: That's so funny. I know a few people of that
- 9:39Speaker 1: feel that way, and I guess he doesn't like Blow
- 9:44Speaker 1: Me Away. But I've always just been like, hey, it's
- 9:45Speaker 1: really good. I think I don't know, but yeah, I
- 9:48Speaker 1: get it.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I don't know what it is. I feel like I
- 9:51Speaker 3: really see him acting, especially in this movie, to get that. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 3: that part of sure. But I loved him and mister Robot,
- 10:00Speaker 3: and I've loved him in things. But yeah, every once
- 10:05Speaker 3: in a while, I'm like, I don't know, he.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Doesn't seem to always pick the same ish kind of things.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Well, dude, he's so different, Like he's got a very
- 10:14Speaker 3: different look.
- 10:15Speaker 1: That's true. That's a good point.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, but yeah, I kind of regardless,
- 10:22Speaker 3: I enjoyed. I enjoyed that movie.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it was fun. It was fun, some political intrigue
- 10:27Speaker 1: in things. I'm with you, So yeah, I felt very
- 10:30Speaker 1: similarly cool.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Last movie you watched, last movie I watched was a
- 10:36Speaker 3: Jurassic Park Rebirds. I haven't seen it yet.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Pretty fun, rob pretty fun. Definitely more fun than the
- 10:45Speaker 1: last three or whatever they were like trilogy. Yeah, I
- 10:50Speaker 1: didn't really care for those in a huge way. Mostly
- 10:54Speaker 1: I think just because I didn't feel like that was Bryce,
- 10:56Speaker 1: d Alice Howard right and Chris Brow. I don't feel
- 10:59Speaker 1: like I had a ton of chemistry. Maybe is why
- 11:02Speaker 1: I didn't care for him.
- 11:03Speaker 3: But and the plot was not great.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Well, that's true. They didn't hire writers. That hurt them. Yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 1: that hurt them.
- 11:10Speaker 3: This one they trained the velociraptors.
- 11:14Speaker 1: You don't worry about it. It's fine.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. This one is.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Better for sure.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I enjoyed it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: They did lose me a little bit in like the
- 11:25Speaker 1: third act, like a bunch of those kind of monstery movies,
- 11:28Speaker 1: do you know, for me for whatever reason, But I
- 11:32Speaker 1: thought that the chemistry between the cast was way better
- 11:36Speaker 1: in this one. They really they went all out again.
- 11:39Speaker 1: They got Scarlett Johansson, Marshall Ali, they got that Jonathan
- 11:43Speaker 1: Bailey guy who's like the rage right now.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Was he the guy in Wicked?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I forget what his name, Fierro or something five.
- 11:53Speaker 1: He wasn't Wicked anyway, and then just a bunch of
- 11:57Speaker 1: other people I like kind of knew from other stuff.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I enjoyed it. I thought it was a good time.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It's definitely worth seeing in the theater, for sure.
- 12:07Speaker 3: It does.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Probably it's it's no original Jurassic Park, you know, obviously,
- 12:12Speaker 1: like nothing ever will be.
- 12:15Speaker 3: But it was.
- 12:15Speaker 1: It was fun and I really did like it more
- 12:17Speaker 1: than the last ones. So for that, I was like,
- 12:21Speaker 1: I was like, great, cool at least there's that.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I guess there is that a very low bar. It
- 12:26Speaker 3: is kind of a little bar.
- 12:27Speaker 1: But it was fun. I don't know, it felt very
- 12:31Speaker 1: The one great part about these like summertime blockbusters is
- 12:35Speaker 1: it it's always just like kind of nostalgic, a little
- 12:37Speaker 1: bit of just like, sure, hey it's summer, we're seeing
- 12:40Speaker 1: like a big dumb movie that's fun, you know, like okay,
- 12:44Speaker 1: cool and at least terrible afterwards. But yes, I.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Didn't want to see it.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It's we're seeing for sure, for sure?
- 12:52Speaker 3: Nice? Yeah?
- 12:54Speaker 1: What even streaming?
- 12:56Speaker 3: Streaming? So Netflix has produced a bunch of short documentaries
- 13:01Speaker 3: called train Wreck, and I had previously only seen the
- 13:05Speaker 3: train Wreck Woodstock ninety nine, but now I can say
- 13:09Speaker 3: I've seen two with the most recent train wreck Poop Cruise.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Poop Cruise, Oh boy, this is of course all about
- 13:19Speaker 3: the cruise that happened. It was the Carnival Triumph back
- 13:24Speaker 3: in twenty thirteen, and all the power went went out
- 13:30Speaker 3: and they were just like stuck at sea with no power,
- 13:35Speaker 3: which meant none of the toilets worked, which meant they
- 13:39Speaker 3: were having to like defecate in bags, and a lot
- 13:43Speaker 3: of people were like, I'm not doing that. So it
- 13:46Speaker 3: got real gross, real fast.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I bet, yeah, especially in a cruse. They've been eating
- 13:52Speaker 1: poorly for fishing and a lot so much.
- 13:58Speaker 3: But yeah, dude, and this came out or I mean,
- 14:00Speaker 3: this happened back when I was cruising pretty regularly. I remember.
- 14:06Speaker 3: I remember it's a month, you know, and I mean
- 14:08Speaker 3: this is back when you were rising too, So yeah,
- 14:12Speaker 3: I thought, yeah, dude, So I thought it would be
- 14:16Speaker 3: a fun watch and it was. It's kind of like
- 14:20Speaker 3: cheesy editing, sure.
- 14:23Speaker 1: But it's still entertaining, like a bunch of because people
- 14:28Speaker 1: had like camera phones and stuff way more properly.
- 14:31Speaker 3: There was there was they did. Yeah, and they you know,
- 14:35Speaker 3: they really focused on like six different people and families
- 14:40Speaker 3: that were doing confessionals and just some of those felt
- 14:43Speaker 3: a little scripted a little bit, you know, kind of cheesy.
- 14:48Speaker 3: That was the cheesiest parts.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Probably you think that people did them at the time
- 14:53Speaker 1: and they were like, we're going to get famous because
- 14:55Speaker 1: of this or was it?
- 14:57Speaker 3: I don't know, Yeah, I don't know. One guy was interesting.
- 15:01Speaker 3: He was on this cruise with his girlfriend who he
- 15:06Speaker 3: was trying to make his fiance on that crew, oh boy,
- 15:09Speaker 3: and he was like trying to trying to win over
- 15:14Speaker 3: his you know, his his father in law and like,
- 15:17Speaker 3: golly wow. So yeah, he's like trying to find out
- 15:21Speaker 3: where the toilets are still working, so is his new
- 15:26Speaker 3: father in law can go poop in peace? But yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 3: that was probably the most pretty great entertaining part.
- 15:34Speaker 1: That's it's a good wedding toast. I guess right, all
- 15:38Speaker 1: worked out, right.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Yeah, they're much they're much stronger now than they were before.
- 15:45Speaker 3: But yeah, it's pretty quick, man. I don't even think
- 15:47Speaker 3: it's an hour and a half, these these old ducs.
- 15:50Speaker 3: So if that sounds interesting, it's on Netflix. I like it,
- 15:57Speaker 3: and you streamed the amateur.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah, so I guess we'll move ahead and do some plugarus.
- 16:02Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 16:03Speaker 3: Love it nice?
- 16:03Speaker 1: You guys can visitin US as always on the Twitter

- 17:09Speaker 1: Beautiful, there's a few good ones in there. I don't
- 17:11Speaker 1: know if you knew that about him. I'm not sure
- 17:13Speaker 1: if you were aware.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I didn't know that. That's cool, summer, that's awesome.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It will be super deuper fun. Yeah, and I guess
- 17:26Speaker 1: I don't have a coming attraction, so let's just get
- 17:29Speaker 1: into it. We're here today to talk about a film
- 17:31Speaker 1: that Gene Hackman is obviously in and featured in heavily.
- 17:36Speaker 1: It is twenty five years old.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Correct the replacements ladies and gentlemen.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I mean, we're getting close to football time, so this
- 17:46Speaker 1: makes sense. It does such about the time this comes out,
- 17:48Speaker 1: it's probably preseason already.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Dude. Hell yeah, it will be amazing.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I love football.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I'm ready me too, which reminds me I need to
- 17:57Speaker 3: schedule our fantasy football draft.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Oh yes, I'm going to be gone for Labor Day weekend.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry in advance.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I think we're gonna have to do it earlier. But anyway,
- 18:06Speaker 3: we'll talk about it.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, sorry, sorry, Yeah, hu's the weather where you're at, Ralph. Sorry,
- 18:14Speaker 1: we are here to talk replacements. It's gonna be super fun.
- 18:17Speaker 1: It's just Rob and I. We're gonna hang out tonight,
- 18:20Speaker 1: just a little intimate episode between us two and you.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Yeah, we're bringing it back.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah, but Rob, will you get a started
- 18:28Speaker 1: with the rough synopsis, It's.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Late in the season, the playoffs are fast approaching, and
- 18:35Speaker 3: the Washington Sentinels have just gone on strike. Scrambling for
- 18:40Speaker 3: a solution, the Sentinels owner Edward O'Neill hatches a plan
- 18:45Speaker 3: to bring in legendary coach Jimmy Beginty to recruit a
- 18:49Speaker 3: team of replacement players in exactly one week. For fans
- 18:54Speaker 3: and owners alike, the strike is a disaster, But for
- 18:57Speaker 3: Shane Falco and a mismatch crew of outsiders, it is
- 19:02Speaker 3: the second chance they've waited their whole lives for.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Hell yeah, hell yeah.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Gravitas.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Well done, friend, well done. Let's go to Rotten to
- 19:15Speaker 1: models and hear what they have to say. Creatics didn't
- 19:17Speaker 1: feel the gravitas as much.
- 19:19Speaker 3: They are not a rush solid forty one is dum dum. Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 1: That's much lower than I thought it was going to be,
- 19:28Speaker 1: and definitely lower that serves. Audience members had it up
- 19:31Speaker 1: quite a bit, but still fairly low at sixty.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Low pretty low.
- 19:35Speaker 1: That's still pretty low.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Low.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Well, it's a pretty silly fun time. What do you
- 19:42Speaker 1: think should we go into what we think is the
- 19:44Speaker 1: time for our hot take?
- 19:46Speaker 3: Hot take?
- 19:47Speaker 1: That's a hot take.
- 19:49Speaker 3: That's a hot.
- 19:54Speaker 1: What's hot in this?
- 19:55Speaker 3: Oh hot hot?
- 20:01Speaker 1: That guy's got a lot of he's got a lot
- 20:03Speaker 1: of heat on him because of his gambling debt. There's
- 20:06Speaker 1: that hot take. Hot Listen, what do you want? What
- 20:12Speaker 1: do you want from me?
- 20:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I can go first. I loved this movie when it
- 20:20Speaker 1: first came out and continue to really enjoy it a lot.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Uh football movies at a time when I was playing
- 20:27Speaker 1: football were just the best.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Like I literally had that word for yeah, the best,
- 20:34Speaker 3: and it came out right when we were still in
- 20:36Speaker 3: high school football. I was for sure.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Absolutely same, yeah you too, absolutely because we used to
- 20:42Speaker 1: do like, you know, the team dinners and then we
- 20:44Speaker 1: to watch something it was like this and remember the
- 20:48Speaker 1: Titans and like the big ones you know, around that time.
- 20:53Speaker 1: But I just loved that. So I was gonna love
- 20:56Speaker 1: this movie no matter what. It is a silly, silly movie,
- 20:59Speaker 1: but it's just super fun. It's like a fish out
- 21:02Speaker 1: of water story like we've seen a million times. It's
- 21:06Speaker 1: a little bit of retribution, you know, all these things.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It's just really fun. Can I tell you though? On
- 21:11Speaker 1: the rewatch the part that I loved the most, Yes,
- 21:16Speaker 1: Pat summer All and John Madden announcing during it like
- 21:20Speaker 1: a warm hug so much. I kind of forgot how
- 21:25Speaker 1: much they were featured in it, probably because at the time,
- 21:29Speaker 1: like they were still you know, so omnipresent or whatever
- 21:32Speaker 1: that it didn't feel special maybe or something at the time,
- 21:36Speaker 1: but now looking back because I think they're both gone, right.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I got to assume Madden is for sure.
- 21:42Speaker 3: I think Madness for sure.
- 21:45Speaker 1: But either way, he hasn't announced for a super long
- 21:48Speaker 1: time if he's not. And it was just great to
- 21:51Speaker 1: hear them and they really they were really being goofy
- 21:54Speaker 1: with it, which was fun. I just really enjoyed that part.
- 21:58Speaker 1: A ton.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Agreed passed away.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Okay, I thought he did, but yeah, but yeah, you know,
- 22:08Speaker 1: the dumb parts of my take are like, I'm pro union,
- 22:12Speaker 1: so I wouldn't. I don't love that there's all scabs,
- 22:14Speaker 1: but what are you gonna do? Yeah, I don't know,
- 22:18Speaker 1: and obviously it doesn't matter. And I learned that it's
- 22:21Speaker 1: a similar to some real life things that it happened
- 22:24Speaker 1: in the past that will happen tripulator.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Which I did not know.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Yeah, overall, I just think this is a silly, good time,
- 22:31Speaker 1: fun movie. It is kind of the favorite. It's kind
- 22:35Speaker 1: of my favorite part about football, at least being in
- 22:37Speaker 1: it in high school and stuff, is you just get
- 22:41Speaker 1: a bunch of very different people together and you're working
- 22:44Speaker 1: towards like one goal. And you know, the part the
- 22:48Speaker 1: reason I think I love football was like, oh, all
- 22:50Speaker 1: of a sudden I was a big fat guy and
- 22:52Speaker 1: that was like useful and that was awesome, you know
- 22:55Speaker 1: what I mean? Like it was it was just super
- 22:57Speaker 1: fun and and it was very cooperative. Obviously needed a
- 23:00Speaker 1: bunch of people all working towards the same goal. And
- 23:04Speaker 1: so yeah, I think it makes for a fun movie.
- 23:06Speaker 1: And this one was super funny, super cheesy and just
- 23:10Speaker 1: a great time. I still really liked it. I love
- 23:12Speaker 1: the rewatch And I don't even think I have a
- 23:16Speaker 1: hot take, really hot take be pro union.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I don't know hot hot that is hot, bro.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I don't know, do you have a hotter take than that?
- 23:26Speaker 3: I have a hot take?
- 23:27Speaker 1: Oh hit me.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I can't say it's hotter than that. So yeah, I'm
- 23:32Speaker 3: also a sucker for a football movie. This was a
- 23:35Speaker 3: real fun one. It was directed by Howard Deutsch, who
- 23:39Speaker 3: is Zoe Deutsch's dad. Oh no kidding. Yeah. This is
- 23:43Speaker 3: the second film of his we've covered, the first being
- 23:46Speaker 3: The Great Outdoors.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Wow. I love this guy.
- 23:50Speaker 3: I know he did a couple of the John Hughes
- 23:53Speaker 3: films when John Hughes was like writing so much that
- 23:56Speaker 3: he couldn't do, but he was.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Like, well I'm doing this one and this one's in
- 24:00Speaker 1: pre production.
- 24:00Speaker 3: And exactly so he did like three of those back
- 24:04Speaker 3: in the day, but now he's pretty much doing TV cool.
- 24:08Speaker 3: It's written by Vince McEwan, who has twenty seven acting
- 24:13Speaker 3: credits from the eighties. He's written some films, but this
- 24:16Speaker 3: is his biggest success by far. And I'm gonna, yeah,
- 24:22Speaker 3: I'm gonna steal the steal the trivia. I didn't realize
- 24:26Speaker 3: it's loosely based on real events either. A Super Bowl
- 24:31Speaker 3: winning Washington team had a strike in eighty seven. They
- 24:33Speaker 3: had replacement players for three games, and they ended up
- 24:37Speaker 3: making the playoffs and winning the whole thing. And that
- 24:42Speaker 3: makes this movie so much more fun for me. After
- 24:45Speaker 3: I learned that, I was like, I had no idea
- 24:49Speaker 3: that that happened. And I have loved football my whole
- 24:52Speaker 3: life that there was just a little before I really
- 24:56Speaker 3: started paying attention to it. But yeah, I just had
- 25:00Speaker 3: no idea.
- 25:01Speaker 1: That's so because also, like the premise of this movie
- 25:05Speaker 1: seems ridiculous, and then it's like, oh, that actually that's
- 25:08Speaker 1: the least ridiculous part of it, I guess.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Yeah, the fact that this has really happened blew my mind.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I was like, oh, oh wow, Okay, that's cool.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yeah, which even boosts it higher in my opinion. Yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 3: I thought it was really a really fun cast led
- 25:27Speaker 3: by the late great Gene Hackman. I thought the football
- 25:31Speaker 3: shots were pretty great. So many helicopters and flips. There
- 25:35Speaker 3: were lots of hits.
- 25:36Speaker 1: They were getting hard. I definitely was like, some of these,
- 25:40Speaker 1: some of these, like crackback blocks are not legal.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Anymore, No, they're not. There would have been lots of
- 25:46Speaker 3: penalties going on. Yeah, it's not my favorite movie. It's
- 25:52Speaker 3: not my favorite football movie, but it is entertaining and
- 25:57Speaker 3: it hits a lot harder now that Gene Hackman has gone.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Yeah I did. I was like, oh yeah, especially because
- 26:04Speaker 1: that story was such a just such a bummer overall.
- 26:09Speaker 1: His wife died yucky, you know. Yeah, sorry, but.
- 26:17Speaker 3: My hot take. Yes, they showed the exotic dancing cheerleaders
- 26:24Speaker 3: just as much as the actual football place.
- 26:26Speaker 1: They were in it so much.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Like, so much more than I remember, And I'm just like,
- 26:32Speaker 3: why are we still going over to that? What is happening?
- 26:36Speaker 1: So why don't we remember that?
- 26:38Speaker 3: We were like the little.
- 26:42Speaker 1: I mean, I definitely remember the main actress, and.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I remember the whole bit that they got the exotic
- 26:48Speaker 3: dancers to help out, and that they had, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 3: they distracted the other team. But after every play, we're
- 26:55Speaker 3: going over there to see more.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Scenes from them. I did out the whole movie, Like
- 27:01Speaker 1: we said, Yeah, that's a super good hot take.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I like that it was gratuitous at the very least.
- 27:07Speaker 3: It's just too pretty while but yeah, that's the only
- 27:11Speaker 3: real hot take.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Nice hot take, hot hot hot. Well, let's go name
- 27:17Speaker 1: our favorite acting performance. Shall we name the dude the dude?
- 27:22Speaker 1: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 27:25Speaker 1: know that, or his dudeus or duder or you know,
- 27:30Speaker 1: el dudo reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing,
- 27:34Speaker 1: you want to go first, I do, okay, because I
- 27:39Speaker 1: love Gene Hackman.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I miss him so much. I wanted to go and
- 27:44Speaker 3: like watch a bunch of Gene Hackman movies. I never
- 27:46Speaker 3: really did. And this is honestly the first one that
- 27:49Speaker 3: I've seen since he's past.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I think me too. That seems like a winteractivity.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Absolutely. I told you I was kind of looking for
- 27:57Speaker 3: the conversation and I just haven't been able to find it. Yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 3: because I really I never saw that movie either, and
- 28:05Speaker 3: it's like way up there on you know, favorites of
- 28:08Speaker 3: his at the very least. But yeah, he just he's
- 28:14Speaker 3: just perfect in this role. Especially, you know, I was
- 28:17Speaker 3: such a huge fan of Hoosiers back in the day.
- 28:20Speaker 3: I've seen him as a coach. He was rocking the
- 28:24Speaker 3: like hat, like the Tom Landry kind of football coach hat.
- 28:28Speaker 3: He just fit it perfectly, and all those speeches and
- 28:33Speaker 3: just like, yeah, he just like commanded the screen every
- 28:38Speaker 3: time he was on it. And yeah, one of my
- 28:43Speaker 3: favorite actors of all time.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Yeah, hell, yeah, dude, he's so great and he's so
- 28:48Speaker 1: he just can throw things away but still have a
- 28:51Speaker 1: mean something and he can you know, he obviously cares
- 28:54Speaker 1: about football such a great deal, but also it's not
- 28:57Speaker 1: the most important thing in life for him, you know,
- 28:59Speaker 1: in some ways, which is so great. Yeah. I love that.
- 29:02Speaker 1: That's great. He's who I picked as well. I kind
- 29:05Speaker 1: of was like, oh, maybe it'll be Keanu, and I
- 29:07Speaker 1: was like, oh, Kenna's good. I like him in this,
- 29:10Speaker 1: But yeah, he's not Gene Hackman.
- 29:12Speaker 3: I mean, where we even he's not talking about He's
- 29:16Speaker 3: not He's really not. Yeah, Yeah, but I do love Keanu.
- 29:21Speaker 3: It really reminded me of you know, I'm a huge
- 29:24Speaker 3: fan and I know you're a huge fan of necessary
- 29:27Speaker 3: roughness big time the Scott Bacula uh kind of.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Very similar. Yeah, they really are and both great, so right, Yeah,
- 29:42Speaker 1: no complaints there either way from me. But yeah, for
- 29:45Speaker 1: sure there was even one point where, oh it wasn't
- 29:48Speaker 1: that one. It was Little Giants. They do the stickham
- 29:53Speaker 1: gag as well, and giant hands and there was a
- 29:56Speaker 1: moment where I was like, do his hands get stuck
- 29:59Speaker 1: to his jersey? And I was like, wait, I think
- 30:02Speaker 1: that's the other football movie.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Sure, yeah, his are just stuck to his hands.
- 30:07Speaker 1: But in Little Giants, remember, He's like, yeah, it's the
- 30:11Speaker 1: little nerdy kid. I think if I remember with the glasses,
- 30:15Speaker 1: have we done Little Giants?
- 30:16Speaker 3: We haven't, right, we haven't. I've only seen it one time.
- 30:19Speaker 3: That was not at all. Were you like a little
- 30:21Speaker 3: bit too old?
- 30:22Speaker 1: Maybe?
- 30:24Speaker 3: No, one, I just didn't love it.
- 30:27Speaker 1: When I saw it, I loved it.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I remember I had a really annoying experience watching it
- 30:35Speaker 3: with a friend during it Sure, and I never saw
- 30:41Speaker 3: it again.
- 30:42Speaker 1: That's so funny, isn't that funny?
- 30:45Speaker 3: Just like what movies you know.
- 30:47Speaker 1: For nothing to do with the movie that you're just like,
- 30:50Speaker 1: I'm never going to think about that again or whatever. Right,
- 30:53Speaker 1: that's funny. God, I loved that movie. That little nerdy
- 30:56Speaker 1: Kid cracked me up so hard. Yeah, kids, it's so good.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Someday maybe we'll get you to watch it again someday.
- 31:05Speaker 3: At the very least, we have to do unnecessary roughness.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I can't believe we've gone this many episodes.
- 31:10Speaker 1: That's crazy. That is actually crazy. I'd rather do that
- 31:12Speaker 1: one first, for sure.
- 31:13Speaker 3: The fact that we're doing the replacements before this is insane.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, why did that happen?
- 31:19Speaker 3: Miss have never done it? You know, whenever you google
- 31:23Speaker 3: like anniversaries, they only show like the real high grossing,
- 31:27Speaker 3: you know, and that's some of them. That's a pretty
- 31:31Speaker 3: that's a pretty niche movie. You know, we should just
- 31:34Speaker 3: do it next year.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Who cares?
- 31:36Speaker 3: I'm with you.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Actor Alisondo, dude, amazing.
- 31:39Speaker 3: And Robert Loche is so good. Jason Bateman Sinbat's huge,
- 31:48Speaker 3: the in bet anyway, talk about different sorry, different movie,
- 31:53Speaker 3: we're staying on topic. You picked Gene Hackman as well.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Let's go and talk about the supporting actors. That a
- 32:00Speaker 3: lot to choose from. Let's choose that.
- 32:05Speaker 1: I started off. Bro, there's way too many. Honestly, I'm
- 32:09Speaker 1: just gonna say Fabrea is a psycho in this and
- 32:11Speaker 1: I really loved him in it, and continue to he's like,
- 32:16Speaker 1: it got that really funny, like you know, side story
- 32:20Speaker 1: or backstory, I guess is the right way to say it.
- 32:22Speaker 1: But you know, law enforcement and going to war and
- 32:25Speaker 1: all that, and he's just a crazy man. And yeah,
- 32:29Speaker 1: I just I really love his performance in this. I
- 32:31Speaker 1: think it's very very silly. Yeah, and very dumb for
- 32:36Speaker 1: a guy who's very smart anyway, right, but he can
- 32:41Speaker 1: do that, dude.
- 32:42Speaker 3: He really can't ye pretty often PCU.
- 32:45Speaker 1: He's super stupid as well.
- 32:48Speaker 3: That Oh, I'm blanking on it now. Which one was
- 32:53Speaker 3: that I Love you man where he's such a jerk.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Yeah, he's the brother in law. Yeah, well best friend's husband,
- 33:01Speaker 1: I guess or whatever.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Whatever is that one? And that movie A couple of
- 33:07Speaker 3: those kind of movies. Yeah, you're right, You're right, he does.
- 33:10Speaker 1: He does have that in him for sure. But I
- 33:13Speaker 1: thought he was just really really fun in this, So I'll.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Take him absolutely.
- 33:17Speaker 1: We're gonna talk a lot, though, so go ahead.
- 33:19Speaker 3: It's funny. I thought you were going to go with
- 33:22Speaker 3: who I picked because you had it in your hot take.
- 33:25Speaker 3: But I picked John Madden and Pot Pats. That's true.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I guess I felt like I already talked about them. Yes,
- 33:31Speaker 1: I should have picked them.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Because I had the same feeling, which just made me.
- 33:37Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, when you're in it so much
- 33:40Speaker 3: and you're saying so much, so many funny things, and
- 33:43Speaker 3: just John Madden just talking. I love John Madden's voice.
- 33:49Speaker 3: I think I just heard that they're doing a biopic
- 33:51Speaker 3: with John about John Man was playing. Uh is it
- 33:55Speaker 3: Shane gillis No?
- 33:58Speaker 4: I think it's like, uh, oh God, I want to say,
- 34:03Speaker 4: is it like Nicholas Cage.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Oh, that'd be amazing. I think that's regardless. John Madden
- 34:11Speaker 3: and Pat Summer all made this movie so much more
- 34:14Speaker 3: enjoyable for me.
- 34:15Speaker 4: It is Nicholas, Nicholas Cage and Christian Bale is al Davis.
- 34:22Speaker 1: That might be an amazing movie.
- 34:25Speaker 3: It might It might be.
- 34:26Speaker 1: It also might be so horrible.
- 34:30Speaker 3: It could be what is it?
- 34:32Speaker 1: You see what it's? Sorry I'm sidetracking us again, but
- 34:36Speaker 1: I want to know what it's is supposed to be.
- 34:38Speaker 1: It doesn't tell me, forget it.
- 34:40Speaker 3: But that's amazing for like a real acting performance. I
- 34:44Speaker 3: think my next favorite is Reese Iphens as Nigel Gruff.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I loved him, Yeah, I love him.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I've always loved him ever since notting Hill, and he
- 34:57Speaker 3: was so great in this. Dude. He the fact that
- 35:00Speaker 3: he was able to get like real tears before he
- 35:03Speaker 3: has to do the kick and it is like, hey,
- 35:06Speaker 3: I'm in for a bunch of money, you know, I
- 35:08Speaker 3: gotta do this. They're going to take my pub away
- 35:11Speaker 3: just like whoa. This is way more than we do
- 35:14Speaker 3: that right above and beyond, bro, which is great and
- 35:19Speaker 3: it Yeah, it definitely elevated the performance in the movie.
- 35:23Speaker 1: And yeah, I love that guy. That guy has had
- 35:26Speaker 1: a wonderful career. Look, he's really done a ton of stuff.
- 35:30Speaker 1: That's great.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Yeah, huge movies, you know, the Amazing Spider Man, and
- 35:35Speaker 3: I think he was in was he in the Pirates movies?
- 35:39Speaker 3: Maybe he wasn't in the Pirates movies. He was in
- 35:41Speaker 3: that Kingsman movie, like the.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Rescue I think right that was the last one, right,
- 35:48Speaker 1: the one that was like the prologue or whatever.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, he's done a bunch of stuff. Loved
- 35:56Speaker 3: him in this, that's a great. What was one of
- 35:58Speaker 3: your runner ups.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Ah, always fun to see Art Lafleur. I just love
- 36:04Speaker 1: that guy.
- 36:04Speaker 3: He's one of the coaches, both of those coaches, dude.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Yeah, well the other one, you know, the other one
- 36:10Speaker 1: is from Ernest P.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Worrels of course. Well, dude, he's a very accomplished actor
- 36:15Speaker 3: as well. But yes, he was definitely know him from
- 36:18Speaker 3: the earnest movies for sure.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I don't know how to say his first name, guylerd Yeah, Gaylard,
- 36:25Speaker 1: Gaylord Sartine, I don't know. Yeah, it's a great name.
- 36:28Speaker 1: But he's really fun. Yeah. I love both of them
- 36:31Speaker 1: in this time. I thought they were really they were good,
- 36:34Speaker 1: just a good time.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Dude. Orlando Jones is who I think.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Of ye good call. He's so funny in this movie
- 36:43Speaker 1: and just in this movie, so funny.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Yeah, he was fantastic. Uh and fais on Love. I
- 36:51Speaker 3: also think about him in this movie.
- 36:54Speaker 1: The Guards.
- 36:55Speaker 3: They were great. The Guards were great. And then you
- 36:58Speaker 3: have Brooke Langton, real easy on the eyes, and I'm
- 37:02Speaker 3: really surprised she didn't become more of a deal after.
- 37:05Speaker 1: She was really good in this Like I didn't have
- 37:08Speaker 1: a ton to do, but she was fine. They had
- 37:11Speaker 1: really good chemistry.
- 37:13Speaker 3: She had some fun scenes like her like driving through
- 37:17Speaker 3: so fast and like talking the whole time and knew
- 37:20Speaker 3: a lot about football.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Was Was she on Melrose Place or something? I feel
- 37:23Speaker 1: like I remember seeing that when I looked. Yeah, I
- 37:25Speaker 1: never actually watched that shot. Were you a Melrose Place guy?
- 37:28Speaker 3: Back in the day, we were more of a Beverly
- 37:30Speaker 3: Hills nine O two and o household, but we saw
- 37:33Speaker 3: some especially when did Tiffany Embertheeson go over to Melrose
- 37:38Speaker 3: Place too? Sounds this year she did Beverly Hills. Maybe
- 37:42Speaker 3: I'm mixing that up.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I missed both of those for whatever reason, Like I
- 37:46Speaker 1: guess my crew just wasn't into it or something. Maybe
- 37:48Speaker 1: we didn't have table.
- 37:50Speaker 3: The only reason I watched it was because of my
- 37:52Speaker 3: sister for sure, and so that.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but I would have loved it, I'm sure had
- 37:56Speaker 1: I seen. Yeah, like, that's very much up my alley.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Buddy abe knows a lot about Beverly, which I love
- 38:04Speaker 3: so much. Yeah, yeah, I love that.
- 38:08Speaker 1: That's great. Yeah, I thought she was great. Uh, and
- 38:11Speaker 1: she's gorgeous obviously beautiful in this movie. Keith David always
- 38:16Speaker 1: nice to see him hanging around.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Uh, he forgot i'dn't even write him down. And I love.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Keith wonderful as there like the player Rep Guy I
- 38:25Speaker 1: guess yea and David Denman his movie debut, Roy from
- 38:31Speaker 1: the Office. I thought that was pretty wild. That was yeah,
- 38:34Speaker 1: I remember that either.
- 38:37Speaker 3: No, it was even when I saw The Office. I
- 38:40Speaker 3: wasn't like, oh, yeah, you were Brian from Yeah, he.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Looks way tinier in this somehow, even though it's a
- 38:46Speaker 1: football movie, which is weird. Yeah, I think those are
- 38:52Speaker 1: all the ones I wrote down. I love everyone.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you wrote down more than more than I did. Well,
- 38:57Speaker 3: then why don't we keep moving? Let's let's pick our
- 38:59Speaker 3: favorite scene, and let's choose the dinguss.
- 39:04Speaker 1: So is quite simple, really, Dingus Dingus. I can talk
- 39:08Speaker 1: about my dingas all night long.
- 39:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna cheat on this one. And I'm just gonna say,
- 39:15Speaker 3: because I was feeling real sappy about Gene, I'm just
- 39:20Speaker 3: gonna say any speech given by Gene.
- 39:24Speaker 1: I'm into that. I'm super felt it.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Too, dude. It gave me goosebumps like five times, just
- 39:30Speaker 3: him just speaking.
- 39:32Speaker 1: When he's doing the like going into halftime speech, He's like, fright,
- 39:37Speaker 1: it's gonna take art of just like yeah, Gene, Yeah, no,
- 39:42Speaker 1: I'm with you one hundred percent. He's so good at that.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I don't know, it's yeah, I don't know nothing about
- 39:47Speaker 1: the way he does that. It's amazing.
- 39:49Speaker 3: He feels like a real leader of men. He really
- 39:52Speaker 3: just does it. Really does confident guy, really really does.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I think that's a great pick. Yeah, man, this is
- 40:01Speaker 1: the heart these movie. These comedy movies are hard for
- 40:05Speaker 1: me on these sometimes to pick a scene.
- 40:08Speaker 3: A lot of times I just go to what do
- 40:10Speaker 3: I think of when I think of this.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Movie, And for me, that is the bar fight scene
- 40:16Speaker 1: into the jail cell with the dancing and singing.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Like that is That's the first thing I think of
- 40:22Speaker 3: with this too.
- 40:23Speaker 1: And so I think that's what I would have to pick.
- 40:26Speaker 3: I think I will survive.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's really fun too. Like the fight scene beforehand,
- 40:31Speaker 1: they have each other's back, you know, like they obviously
- 40:34Speaker 1: have issues with each other, but they really galvanize as
- 40:37Speaker 1: a team, and then it happens even more as they
- 40:39Speaker 1: start singing, and you know, you just see their individual personalities.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I think that stuff is super fun. I get that
- 40:45Speaker 1: it's also wicked, corny, you know, and all the things.
- 40:49Speaker 1: But if I'm watching a sports movie. That's what I'm
- 40:52Speaker 1: there for, right, Like, I'm there to feel happy and
- 40:55Speaker 1: get pumped up and see some corny stuff. I don't know,
- 40:58Speaker 1: So I.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Love that, dude, they had the bar fight that got
- 41:03Speaker 3: the team closer in Unnecessary.
- 41:05Speaker 5: Absolutely, they're the same movie. I'm telling you, that's amazing. Yeah,
- 41:12Speaker 5: there is definitely times where I was like, yeah, are different, right?
- 41:15Speaker 5: Is that a thing I'm not going to touch you?
- 41:18Speaker 5: Is that in this one or the other one?
- 41:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 41:22Speaker 1: One hundred percent.
- 41:24Speaker 3: I would pick that.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I love all the Gene Hackman ones though I agree
- 41:29Speaker 1: with that, and I also just love and we love
- 41:32Speaker 1: because we talk about it almost every movie this happens.
- 41:34Speaker 1: But like getting the gang together like kind of montage
- 41:39Speaker 1: scene is always fun. I think where you see.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Like for sure, each character where like.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Art Lafleur is like, well, there's no reason to stand
- 41:47Speaker 1: out here out of earshot from everyone else in case
- 41:50Speaker 1: I scream or whatever, you know, when he needs the
- 41:53Speaker 1: guy from the penitentiary, and just all the things you
- 41:56Speaker 1: know they're giving each other a hard time about, you know,
- 41:59Speaker 1: what they're eating or whatever. All the things. I just
- 42:02Speaker 1: think that's really fun.
- 42:04Speaker 3: That is fun. And then the only other one I
- 42:07Speaker 3: wrote down is just pretty much the climax of the movie,
- 42:12Speaker 3: Falco coming back in at halftime to win the game.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Cochrane gets in at the end zone before his knee explodes.
- 42:20Speaker 3: He had you know, they built that up with you
- 42:22Speaker 3: know I just want to get in the end zone.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, so that hit harder. And then yeah,
- 42:30Speaker 3: Nigel crying before he's going to do the kick, and
- 42:32Speaker 3: so Falco switches it up, goes runs, does the l
- 42:37Speaker 3: Way helicopter. They did that like three.
- 42:40Speaker 1: They really did. Yeah, and it looked cool every time.
- 42:42Speaker 1: So I get why they kept kind of going back
- 42:44Speaker 1: to that, honestly.
- 42:45Speaker 3: Because that would have been two years prior to that movie.
- 42:50Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, wow, that's crazy. That seems like that
- 42:52Speaker 1: was way farther before this movie somehow. Yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Yeah, uh yeah. That was just a low hanging for
- 43:04Speaker 3: And this kind of goes into your speech one, but
- 43:06Speaker 3: the Quicksands explanation and then the speech afterward.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I just love that scene as a more like serious
- 43:13Speaker 1: scene quote unquote. It's just great.
- 43:21Speaker 3: But I would be fine doing a dual ding guy
- 43:23Speaker 3: with the speeches by Gene and I will survive.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Let's just do a triple Let's get let's get Madden
- 43:30Speaker 1: in summer all all their scenes, all scenes, and then
- 43:35Speaker 1: love it the climax. I'm great with that, and I
- 43:38Speaker 1: will survive.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I survive.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I like it. I like it.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Well, then let's let's talk about some quotes.
- 43:45Speaker 5: Let's show me the money me the money show.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Started off.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Bro has love at the beginning when he's like you
- 44:00Speaker 1: look like, He's like, well, I'm dying, Jimmy, He's like,
- 44:03Speaker 1: come on, You've been dying for twenty years. It's super early.
- 44:07Speaker 3: That actor too. Yeah, what is his name, Jack Warden?
- 44:10Speaker 3: I think is his name?
- 44:11Speaker 1: Sounds right?
- 44:12Speaker 3: Yeah, very accomplished actor. The only other I saw that
- 44:17Speaker 3: The thing that I really remembered him from was the
- 44:21Speaker 3: really troubling Problem Child movies.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Yes, that's what I remember him, because he was the
- 44:29Speaker 1: Grandpa or something.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Yeah, those movies were. Yeah. I can't imagine what those
- 44:34Speaker 1: are like on a rewatch.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Yeah, can't be getting terrifying.
- 44:38Speaker 1: But boy did I think they were silly and fun
- 44:41Speaker 1: at the time.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, big fan. Anyway, I know.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Mom sure loves him. What is the one I'm trying
- 44:49Speaker 1: to think of? Oh, it's after a really fun scene
- 44:53Speaker 1: where they they have previously flipped over Shane's truck because
- 44:58Speaker 1: he parked in the you know, the other guys or whatever.
- 45:01Speaker 1: And then he comes back and he's like, I don't
- 45:03Speaker 1: even park his boy. He's like, well, it's his spot
- 45:05Speaker 1: and he gets really mad and they flip it and
- 45:07Speaker 1: then the two dudes Faison and whatever come over and
- 45:10Speaker 1: they shoot the car, which is not great but whatever.
- 45:14Speaker 1: It's super funny. But the part I love about that
- 45:16Speaker 1: scene is as they're walking back, he had just had
- 45:19Speaker 1: the yam put on or whatever. He's like, what does
- 45:22Speaker 1: that smell? And he's like, oh wow, yeam. He's like, oh,
- 45:25Speaker 1: that's nice.
- 45:27Speaker 3: I also like that a lot. Yeah, I wrote that.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I just love that so so much. I think that's
- 45:33Speaker 1: really funny. Oh. I love when I think it's recipments.
- 45:40Speaker 1: When he's like that'll do? You pick that'll do? He's like,
- 45:44Speaker 1: screw you cockroach. It's like, well you have to find
- 45:47Speaker 1: your dick first, Chamu. It's just really silly. I mean
- 45:52Speaker 1: it's Welsh not Scottish, but.
- 45:53Speaker 3: You get yeah, I get it at the point.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Yeah what do you got? You said a couple?
- 46:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I can say some. The cool one in this
- 46:05Speaker 3: is Falco In the huddle, He's like, I wish I
- 46:07Speaker 3: could say something class and inspirational, but that just wouldn't
- 46:10Speaker 3: be our style. Pain heels, chicks, dig scars, glory, last forever.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's definitely pretty great. I was said in
- 46:19Speaker 1: a huddle or two in high school.
- 46:22Speaker 3: I love that so much. I loved the winners always
- 46:27Speaker 3: want the ball when the game is on the line,
- 46:30Speaker 3: and then it comes back with Shane's like, I want
- 46:33Speaker 3: the ball.
- 46:33Speaker 1: He said, Yeah, that is wonderful.
- 46:38Speaker 3: My favorite Madden line. I love to see a fat
- 46:42Speaker 3: guy school Why because first you get a fat guy spike,
- 46:46Speaker 3: then you get the fat guy dance so good in
- 46:49Speaker 3: his disgrade. It's like, oh, first you go then.
- 46:55Speaker 1: And I love that.
- 46:56Speaker 3: At one point they're like and he comes over here
- 46:59Speaker 3: and he goes over you, like the.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Whole thing so great. Yeah, it's such a great scene.
- 47:05Speaker 1: In general.
- 47:08Speaker 3: I love when Orlando Jones, uh, he finally gets interviewed
- 47:13Speaker 3: and then he is just the third person the whole time,
- 47:17Speaker 3: but he ends with the football is like a one
- 47:19Speaker 3: man cold to Clifford Franklin, Clifford Franklin's the only man
- 47:23Speaker 3: catching it. Clifford Franklin's the only man coming down with it.
- 47:28Speaker 3: So good. It is so great.
- 47:32Speaker 1: He catches one ball and immediately he's like his today
- 47:35Speaker 1: was a good day for Clifford Frank. Yeah, yeah, I
- 47:39Speaker 1: have those bothering down. That's so good. And then the
- 47:42Speaker 1: cold line is actually pretty cool.
- 47:45Speaker 3: I like which one said, Oh yeah, coming.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I'm the only one coming down catching it.
- 47:50Speaker 3: And coming down with it. Yeah dude. I also liked
- 47:54Speaker 3: him saying, now you know this, don't look natural, coach.
- 47:57Speaker 3: That's when he puts the stick. You know it, don't
- 48:00Speaker 3: I look like I just jacked off an elephant.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I forgot that one, and I giggled a lot.
- 48:06Speaker 3: It was good, pretty good. I got some more of
- 48:09Speaker 3: a why don't you say someone when?
- 48:11Speaker 1: Uh? Falco? And what is the cheerleader? What's her character name?
- 48:19Speaker 1: I remember? God, I just anyone ever at bro Langton?
- 48:23Speaker 3: Is her? Annabelle Farrell is her name?
- 48:26Speaker 1: Anyway, They're trying, and he's like, I thought you might
- 48:29Speaker 1: need a ride. When she shows up at his boat,
- 48:31Speaker 1: he's like, oh, I'm good, I got my truck back.
- 48:33Speaker 1: She's like, oh yeah, how is it flatter after it's
- 48:37Speaker 1: been tipped over on its side? I love that. I
- 48:40Speaker 1: thought that was really fun. I also love when uh,
- 48:47Speaker 1: the other team gets the ball and Gene Ackman goes Danny, Danny,
- 48:53Speaker 1: I need that ball, can't need that ball. He's like, oh,
- 48:56Speaker 1: I got your Paul, and they're just like screaming at
- 48:58Speaker 1: each other. It's like he runs out on the field.
- 49:02Speaker 1: He's like, God, I hope he doesn't kill somebody. Yeah,
- 49:07Speaker 1: and then after he gets the ball, he's standing there's
- 49:10Speaker 1: like yeah, yeah, yeah, it's like, go sit down, Danny. Okay.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I feel like, yeah, I know that person on my
- 49:17Speaker 1: high school football team that was just like they you
- 49:21Speaker 1: just had to point him a direction. And I was
- 49:23Speaker 1: never that guy because I was never that good.
- 49:25Speaker 3: Maybe I know, but no, just like I was always
- 49:28Speaker 3: too tired.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Yeah you're wonder okay, like I would have already been
- 49:34Speaker 1: sitting on the bench, no problem, no problem. But yeah,
- 49:38Speaker 1: I just thought that was really funny. Goes down, Danny. Okay.
- 49:43Speaker 1: You know there's a ruling sports don't do anything great
- 49:46Speaker 1: if you can't handle the congratulations there is there is.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, such funny is Reis kept getting hurt
- 49:59Speaker 3: John Favreau coming at.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Him every time.
- 50:01Speaker 3: He was so happy.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Oh it was so funny.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Oh and I love this line.
- 50:07Speaker 1: I look at you and I see two men, the
- 50:09Speaker 1: man you are and the man you were supposed to be.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Someday those men will meet and it should make one
- 50:15Speaker 1: hell of a good football player. Yeah, that's a good line.
- 50:19Speaker 3: That's a good line classic Jimmy McGinty is man it is, dude,
- 50:25Speaker 3: is one that really pumps me out though. Was listen up.
- 50:29Speaker 3: By this time tomorrow the strike will officially be over
- 50:32Speaker 3: and you men will be out of a job. Up
- 50:34Speaker 3: until now, Dallas hasn't been afraid of you, and they
- 50:37Speaker 3: should be because you have a powerful weapon working for you.
- 50:41Speaker 3: There is no tomorrow for you, and that makes you
- 50:43Speaker 3: all very dangerous people.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that is pretty sweet.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Love that.
- 50:49Speaker 1: I tell you. One that cracked me up back in
- 50:52Speaker 1: the day, and it's such a throwaway line that it
- 50:54Speaker 1: made me laugh this time. But it's just when they're
- 50:57Speaker 1: talking about I thought you said Reciphans was one solid
- 51:01Speaker 1: muscle and he's like, I'm wary, I'm wary. I don't
- 51:06Speaker 1: I'm wy I loved that line back in the day.
- 51:09Speaker 3: Well, and then Gene Hackman kept saying that, and then uh,
- 51:14Speaker 3: the other coach kept trying, No, it's I'm waity, I'm
- 51:17Speaker 3: wary so funny.
- 51:19Speaker 1: I loved that. That's great. Yeah, remember red means stop.
- 51:26Speaker 1: That was a funny thing where crushing him in practice?
- 51:30Speaker 3: Mm hmm like traffic. Yeah.
- 51:34Speaker 1: I don't know, man, that was maybe all the ones
- 51:36Speaker 1: I wrote down to you.
- 51:37Speaker 3: But others just another badass football why yeah, which just
- 51:42Speaker 3: like made me miss football so much. But Falco is
- 51:45Speaker 3: just like gentlemen. It's been an honor to share the
- 51:48Speaker 3: field of battle with you.
- 51:50Speaker 1: That is fun.
- 51:52Speaker 3: I missed football sometimes. I know. I loved it so much.
- 51:55Speaker 1: I'd be so tired if I tried to play.
- 51:57Speaker 3: Now, though, Oh dude, I would be yeack. And after
- 52:01Speaker 3: warm ups.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Absolutely, there's no way I'd make it for warm ups. Honestly,
- 52:08Speaker 1: I did do that a couple of times.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Right, it did happen. Let's go to bugs boohoo moments.
- 52:19Speaker 3: I had a hard time with this. I felt like
- 52:22Speaker 3: there could have been a bunch I just didn't know
- 52:27Speaker 3: it is, so I I kind of went, I don't.
- 52:31Speaker 3: I don't think you got too into the the Annabelle
- 52:36Speaker 3: Shane Falco love story. I thought maybe you got some
- 52:40Speaker 3: hype tears when coach yells and and and that makes
- 52:44Speaker 3: you all very dangerous people.
- 52:47Speaker 1: I did like them.
- 52:49Speaker 3: That was about all I got.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I don't think I wrote that one, Okay, although so
- 52:56Speaker 1: they also blend together a lot, so it's a little hard.
- 53:00Speaker 3: Yeah. So yeah, dude, I didn't have a good barometer
- 53:04Speaker 3: on this one. How many times did you behoove?
- 53:06Speaker 1: I have four?
- 53:08Speaker 3: Wow?
- 53:09Speaker 1: But I look at you and I see two men.
- 53:11Speaker 1: I really liked that. That got me. Okay, Uh, the
- 53:16Speaker 1: quicksand into the second chance speech, I really liked that.
- 53:20Speaker 1: I thought that was great. Oh the uh when they're
- 53:27Speaker 1: talking about the other quarterback and he's like he doesn't
- 53:32Speaker 1: have heart and you do, and then he says like
- 53:34Speaker 1: it's been a privilege. I think it's when he's he's
- 53:36Speaker 1: letting him know that they're starting the other guy because
- 53:39Speaker 1: he crossed over the line right That that got me.
- 53:42Speaker 1: And then I want the ball winners always do got me.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Okay, it's just those four. I was even gonna say,
- 53:51Speaker 3: just the last close ups to Gene Hackman at the
- 53:54Speaker 3: very end of the movie, and he's got the uh,
- 53:57Speaker 3: he's got the good outro too, which is a pretty
- 54:00Speaker 3: dramatic outra for this kind of silly movie.
- 54:03Speaker 1: I kind of forgot that they did the narrator.
- 54:05Speaker 3: Bit, the tonal to tonally. It was a little, maybe
- 54:10Speaker 3: too much, but it was pretty beautiful. Man. He's like
- 54:13Speaker 3: when the Washington Sentinel Sentinels left the stadium that date,
- 54:17Speaker 3: there was no ticker tape parade, no endorsement deals for
- 54:20Speaker 3: sneakers or soda pop or breakfast cereal, just a locker
- 54:23Speaker 3: to be cleaned out and a ride home to catch.
- 54:26Speaker 3: But what they didn't know was that their lives had
- 54:28Speaker 3: been changed forever because they had been part of something
- 54:30Speaker 3: great and greatness, no matter how brief, stays with the man.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Every athlete dreams of a second chance. These men lived it.
- 54:39Speaker 1: I will say it just did me right now. So
- 54:43Speaker 1: it was beautiful. It's wonderful.
- 54:46Speaker 3: It's also when it felt real like braveheart.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Like it's pretty at the end. Yeah, honestly, like it's
- 54:53Speaker 1: almost the same they left as they fought as warrior poets.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they left it Scottsmith.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Honestly, it's very similar to that. I totally agree. Yeah,
- 55:06Speaker 1: that's really funny.
- 55:08Speaker 3: I didn't write down this must.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Not have got me to cry in the moment anyway.
- 55:10Speaker 1: So four, but who's pretty good? I didn't do well
- 55:14Speaker 1: in this that's all right, it's still a little movie trivia.
- 55:17Speaker 1: There wasn't a whole bunch for this. The final film
- 55:22Speaker 1: of Jack Warden, we said that he was great. He
- 55:25Speaker 1: won an oscar at some point. I don't remember what for, but.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't look at it.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Let's see. Oh, I just thought this was fun. The
- 55:35Speaker 1: reason everyone refers to Shane Falco's meltdown in the ninety
- 55:38Speaker 1: six Sugar Bowl is because there was no Sugar Bowl
- 55:41Speaker 1: in ninety six, and it just made it easy continuity
- 55:45Speaker 1: wise to like not have crossover. So that was funny.
- 55:48Speaker 1: And this was because they played it on New Year's
- 55:50Speaker 1: Even ninety five, and then the next year they played
- 55:56Speaker 1: the day after New Year so on the second of
- 55:58Speaker 1: January ninety seven, So funny just because of scheduling, they
- 56:02Speaker 1: didn't actually happen one in that six.
- 56:05Speaker 3: The other thing that's funny about that that would have
- 56:08Speaker 3: been like three years or four years prior to that,
- 56:12Speaker 3: and they're trying to say that this guy is just
- 56:14Speaker 3: completely washed up.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Bro, what is like twenty es Yeah, right, right, that's funny.
- 56:23Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 56:24Speaker 3: I did not think of that until just either.
- 56:27Speaker 1: That's really good. We said the thing about the Washington
- 56:32Speaker 1: football team being real life. That's cool. Heano gained twenty
- 56:37Speaker 1: three pounds for this role, which is pretty wild.
- 56:41Speaker 3: Do we think of muscle because I don't know.
- 56:44Speaker 1: He didn't look like super Jack. I didn't think, Yeah,
- 56:48Speaker 1: that was interesting, but yeah, Fumiko's war Rid the Nandaska
- 56:54Speaker 1: is actually what is this in Japanese? I guess that's
- 56:58Speaker 1: kind of fun, dude.
- 57:01Speaker 3: It's so funny. We didn't talk about him. I love
- 57:03Speaker 3: that they had a Sumer wrestler. I just saw a
- 57:06Speaker 3: clip of Oh god, what is the great defensive end
- 57:11Speaker 3: for the Cowboys? Who's so good? Micah Parson Parsons. Yeah, okay,
- 57:16Speaker 3: Parsons was going up against a Suma wrestler, no kidding,
- 57:20Speaker 3: and this guy what didn't even look as big as
- 57:23Speaker 3: as Micah Parsons and he just couldn't move him. He
- 57:26Speaker 3: couldn't do anything strong and Michael Parsons like, no, he was,
- 57:33Speaker 3: he was mad. He was I'm doing nothing but leg
- 57:36Speaker 3: day for the next three weeks. And then he did
- 57:39Speaker 3: it again and he was able to get but he
- 57:41Speaker 3: was Yeah.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, that crazy I thought was fun. That's super cool.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I like that a lot.
- 57:51Speaker 3: This is crazy.
- 57:53Speaker 1: During filming, Keanu Reeves was offered a try out with
- 57:55Speaker 1: the Baltimore Ravens.
- 57:58Speaker 3: And then that's nuts.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Also they won the Super Bowl six months later. That's
- 58:04Speaker 1: so crazy. Film's release, and that would.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Have been with Flacco, right, Oh Flacco and Falca.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Oh that's fun, truest would that have been or was
- 58:14Speaker 1: that dil for?
- 58:17Speaker 2: Enough?
- 58:18Speaker 1: Was dil for?
- 58:19Speaker 3: Did he win a super Bowl with the Ravens?
- 58:21Speaker 1: Yeah? That team?
- 58:23Speaker 3: Oh okay, team that.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Where the defense was so crazy crazy?
- 58:26Speaker 3: Good, well it probably was then, yeah, because Flacco would
- 58:29Speaker 3: have been more like like way year.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that must have been later, right.
- 58:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that would have been that. Yeah, he
- 58:37Speaker 3: hasn't been playing for twenty five years. Oh yeah yeah,
- 58:40Speaker 3: that wouldn't work. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. Anyway, yes, they
- 58:44Speaker 3: and that would make sense that they're asking Keanu.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Honestly, Yeah, they sucked, right, so yeah that makes sense. Weird,
- 58:51Speaker 1: what a weird thing. I thought this was fun?
- 58:54Speaker 3: Uh.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Keanu plays a former quarterback from Ohio State in both
- 58:58Speaker 1: this movie and Point Bright. Thought that was right, Johnny utah, utah,
- 59:05Speaker 1: I'm not going to read that one. That one is
- 59:06Speaker 1: a bummer, dude. You have to It's scene Okay, I didn't.
- 59:11Speaker 1: I didn't want to bring It's crazy, dude, Wilkinson. Michael
- 59:15Speaker 1: Jas was the actor. He's the actor who was the
- 59:20Speaker 1: one who got out of prison in the movie Right
- 59:23Speaker 1: to Come Play, And he's in the quick sand scene.
- 59:26Speaker 1: He's afraid. He says he's afraid to go back to prison. Well,
- 59:29Speaker 1: in twenty sixteen, that actor was convicted of second degree
- 59:33Speaker 1: murder killing his wife and was sent into prison for
- 59:37Speaker 1: forty years.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he's gonna he's gonna die in prison.
- 59:41Speaker 1: That's wild, dude.
- 59:42Speaker 3: Isn't that nuts?
- 59:44Speaker 1: I mean it's sad too, and just yeah, so weird.
- 59:47Speaker 3: That blew my mind. And the other thing that blew
- 59:50Speaker 3: my mind. It's probably the next thing you're gonna say,
- 59:52Speaker 3: but that. Wilkinson was based on Tony Robinson, who was
- 59:58Speaker 3: a replacement quarterback for the redskin in a game against
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: the Cowboys during the eighty seven NFL strike. Robinson was
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: an inmate on work release and he was allowed to
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: play that one game and led the Redskins to a
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: thirteen seven victory midy night Football and then he was
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: eventually released in twenty twelve. So they let him all
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: hour ago, but they let him out like so early,
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: like he still stayed in until twenty twelve, and he
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: did that in eighty seven he got to go play
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: in an NFL agame and then go back to prison.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: That's nuts, nuts. I thought that was No. I love that.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: I love to share that because I read that. I
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: didn't actually even write down. So I'm glad. You know. Oh,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Jack Wardon just he also was a head coach slash
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: owner in Brian's song and then was a coach.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I never saw that, do you see that?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: No, that's the one that's real sad, right.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Yeah, And I've always heard that. I'm like, I don't know, watch.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: It football movie and it's said, good lord, chance it
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: is supposed to be amazing, though, I just yeah, I
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: ever saw it.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: And then the last thing I have, Oh, I just
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: thought was fun. So he obviously says the halftime speech
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: or interview that Gene Hackman does when he's like miles
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: and miles of heart, miles and miles and miles of heart.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: This is a reference, of course, to them talking about
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: heart earlier in the film, but it's also from Damn Yankees,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: the song you Gotta Have Heart, which applies to the
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Washington Senators in that movie. So I just thought that
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: was because every time he said it, because I had
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: been in that play not long before this movie came out,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: and so I was like, I was like, well, that's
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: weird that he did a damn y Do you guys
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: do that in high school? Yeah, we did that summer
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: program that I did back in the day. They did
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: it there.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: It was fun.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: It's a fun show.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: But I did that. I just did that one scene
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: in like something.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great song.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: That's funny.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Miles apart, you guys did that song I got I
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: have that song is also the only reason I was
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: probably in the show because they need people to sing it.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: So yeah, I loved it. But I just thought that
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: was a fun elusion there. That was all I had, though.
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't have anything else. I didn't see any
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: other actors that were up and stuff. They didn't they
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: didn't put any of that in. So so yeah, let's
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: go to Judgment Day. Will there be a sequel? No,
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: but there were plans to do a sequel and they
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: fell through.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's fun.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: They could they can, right, I mean, you obviously can't
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: have Gene Hackman.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: That's true. It wouldn't be a sequel with this.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: Maybe Keanu could be the coach and it's a new
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: group of you. You could you could do that.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: You could have it be like an XFL team or
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: something or whatever. They're right, mm hmm, but probably not
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: at this point.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Probably not. Fig there's going to be more football movies.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Though, for sure there'll be something similar to it, Just
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: like this was to necessary, right.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: I know it so funny? Well would you like to play?
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Okol Well, I sent out a tweet if they still
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: call that a tweet On x an X, I was like, hey,
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: give me the name of a favorite actor actress of
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: yours with a with a large filmography. Yes, please, And
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: let's see what the people had to say.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: What did they say?
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: We got some responses, Okay, The one that got hearted
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: the most was Liam Neeson, Oh, which is interesting. Next
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: is Ryan Gosling. And now I do just want to
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: throw out there. We had a listener, Louenne if you're listening, no,
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: not Louenne. Lorraine, Loraine, Lorraine, thank you so much. She
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: has listened to pretty much every episode and has listened
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: to all of our last man Stanton, and she gave
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: me a list of the thirty five actors that we've used.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Most people before.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: We have not done Liam Neeson or Ryan Goune, so
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: those are in the run. We got Samuel L. Jackson,
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: which we have used him. Johnny Depp, which we've used
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: three times, three times, three times, that's the worst one. Funny,
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: we got Steve McQueen, it wouldn't be great, Robert Duval,
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Catherine Hepburn, Robin Williams we've had to have done twice,
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: two times. Yeah, Alan Tudic's fun Harrison Ford which we've done,
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Benedict cumber Batch we have not done, Simon Pegg and
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: David Tennant. Hmmm. So to all those, i'd probably between
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Liam Neeson Ryan Gosling.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Liam, Liam is sticking out to me. Should we
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: just do him?
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Let's do Liam Neeson And I want to give a
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: big thanks to our patron, Marsha Greasy, thank you so
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: much for your for your suggestion. Yeah, Liam Neeson, let's
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: do it.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Oh there's there's so many.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to start it off.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Taken, damn it, taken too, taken three.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: I think that was all of them.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Love Actually, dang it, that was my next poopy sticks.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: I'll say the gray that's a good one.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a bunch of those that are like similar.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I can't remember what the one is called Snowplow or something.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: What the hell is that one called that? It's not
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: that though, but it's but it's close. Wow, snow it's.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Not plow, get plow out of here. And well, unless
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: he's done a different one with him, maybe it's the
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: same movie.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Sure, it doesn't matter. Gangs of New York.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: That makes more sense. Can I say the New Naked
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: Gun movie.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I was gonna ask that too.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Sure, I'm gonna say it's gonna be open like it's
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: it's almost here.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Uh, Lego Batman.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Because he is I can't.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Remember which one he is, but he's definitely in it.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Or is it just Lego movie?
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Maybe it's a Lego movie. I don't think he's in
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Lego Batman. I don't know who he is where he's
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: like the narrators so many times. Well, no, that's Will
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: Arnett doing.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: All that.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Him too, though. All right, I can say something else.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: Uh maybe the Lego movie, but I don't think it's
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: Lego Batman.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: I'm not confident, so I'll say one. I am confident
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: in Batman begins.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna say, you just said that they kind of
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: show him again in Dark Knight Rise. I believe they do.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna say Dark Knight Shot.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Yeah. I can't remember any of the names of his movies.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Uh yeah, Snow. I saw this stupid Snow movie and
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I want to get credit for it. Damn it. I
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: was just thinking of the other day that he was in.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: It's called Schindler's List.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: There you go. I was gonna say, we are missing
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: a huge one. Yeah.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: It's hard to nail a lot of different things.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: Right, I'm going to take the one that you were
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: thinking of.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: Do you remember the name of it? Damn it?
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: Yes, I do. I even saw it.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: No, old No, he's saying rain, Do you tell me
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: the name?
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: What? What? What is it? When it freezes, it turns into.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Ice ice ro ro.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: I watched that piece.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: I remember you watching it telling me. You're just like,
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: oh my god, it's just taking what we doing. Yeah,
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: that's funny. Fine.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, there's got to be one hundred thousand more.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: There are definitely more. N I have four.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I'm struggling over here, but.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Dude, there's so many more, and I'm blanking I know.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I don't think I would have come up with gangs
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: in New York, which makes me sad.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Yeah right, damn, it isn't he in. I don't know.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: I think I'm done. I can't think of anything right now.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: So the one, it was a newer one. It was
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: called A Walk among the Tombstones.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I never watched that.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Actually I saw it when I was I saw like
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: the end at like at the gym. I just saw,
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: so I know how it ended. I was saying, well,
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: I'm never gonna watch that. It's a whole scene in
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: it was ceminterary. So uh. There was a movie called
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Before and After with him and Meryl Streep that always
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: stuck in my head. It was about a family dealing
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: with It's a husband and wife. I think their kid
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: does a hit and run and they have to they
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: have to decide what to do.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: These two look young in this movie.
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, I saw it when I was a kid,
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: and get stuck with me. I've never seen And the
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: only other two that I thought of was Rob Roy
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: and Michael Collins.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Yeah that makes sense. Oh, we got s we go
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: through and look at the nine hundred.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: He had no dude, there's so many.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: That's on one hundred and thirty seven.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: Oh, I saw Kenny Kinsey. I watched it was so awkward.
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: I watched it with my parents that you said that,
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: Why did I do that? Oh my god? Okay, are
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: you starting earlier or late?
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: I can do either. You want me to go back
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: to the beginning.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: There's so many, let's go back to the beginning. A
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: bunch of movies I've never heard of. He played Gawayne
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: in Excalibur, which I never saw. That was back in
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: eighty one. Bro.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: The first thing I saw he was in the Deadpool
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: of the original.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Oh, with like the Clint east Well, I think.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: So it's eighty eight, so I assume.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I never saw the mission. I think that was
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: a big movie.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: I never saw it.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: Either with de Niro.
