- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome everyone to a spooky edition of the Stardom Sidham Show.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm Marcus Grant, joined by Michael F. Florio, the author
- 0:19Speaker 1: of the very not scary Stardom Sitdem column. There's nothing
- 0:22Speaker 1: frightening in that column, is there. It depends if the
- 0:26Speaker 1: player hits or not. Yes, really that's actually a very
- 0:30Speaker 1: fair comment there, so you can check it out. Of course,
- 0:32Speaker 1: every week at NFL dot com slash Start sit But
- 0:34Speaker 1: this is what we do. We break it down for
- 0:36Speaker 1: you in digestible, bite size form. We got plenty to
- 0:40Speaker 1: talk about here. On Halloween weekend, we have hit week eight,
- 0:43Speaker 1: which means we are at the midway point of the
- 0:46Speaker 1: fantasy regular season, so we're going to tell you who's
- 0:48Speaker 1: going to pile up the points. Plus we got our
- 0:51Speaker 1: Fantasy mid season Awards. The Kwan Jones will join us
- 0:54Speaker 1: for that a little bit later on in the show.
- 0:57Speaker 1: But let's get in to the starts and cents four
- 1:00Speaker 1: Week eight, starting with the quarterback position. So who are
- 1:03Speaker 1: you scaring up on your list this week?
- 1:05Speaker 2: I am scaring Jared Goff into my starting lineup, Joe
- 1:09Speaker 2: Burrow brock Perty if he plays, Sam Darnold if he
- 1:13Speaker 2: doesn't is in play. As a streamer, I would say,
- 1:15Speaker 2: see Jay Stroud and then the frightening guys this week,
- 1:19Speaker 2: Dak Prescott against the Rams, Geno Smith against the Browns,
- 1:23Speaker 2: Matt Stafford against the Cowboys, and I want no part
- 1:26Speaker 2: of Jordan Love against the Vikings.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So let's start with Joe Burrow. And for a couple
- 1:31Speaker 1: of weeks we were scared to start him, but we
- 1:33Speaker 1: were also scared to bench him as well. Look the
- 1:36Speaker 1: matchup on paper against the forty nine ers seems like
- 1:38Speaker 1: one you don't want to mess with. But you got
- 1:40Speaker 1: some confidence in Joey b this week.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna give Joe another I did that terribly.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna give him another shot this week. Though. He
- 1:47Speaker 2: started to look healthier before the bye. And that's the
- 1:50Speaker 2: thing with Joe Burrow, and he is healthy, we know
- 1:52Speaker 2: he is a must start option regardless of the matchup.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Now with the bye, I'm hoping we see him healthier
- 1:58Speaker 2: than ever. And the nine or on paper, yes, they
- 2:01Speaker 2: are his toughest test yet, but they struggle more against
- 2:04Speaker 2: the pass. They are very good against the run. We
- 2:06Speaker 2: just saw Kirk Cousins and the Vikings without Justin Jefferson
- 2:09Speaker 2: light them up. I think Joe Burrow with Jamar Chase
- 2:12Speaker 2: and everyone else that he has at his disposal to
- 2:14Speaker 2: Higgins and Plus, I mean they wear black and orange.
- 2:18Speaker 2: This is their weekend.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You gotta start your Bengals tar to go against a
- 2:22Speaker 1: pumpkin team on Halloween weekend. Meanwhile, Jared Goff, we like
- 2:27Speaker 1: to say all the time, he is an indoor cat,
- 2:29Speaker 1: and he's going to be indoors on Monday Night against
- 2:31Speaker 1: the Las Vegas Raiders. This feels like an easy start. Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 2: If Jared Goff played all of his games at home
- 2:37Speaker 2: this year, he would be the Fantasy QB one right now.
- 2:40Speaker 2: That's just how good he has been at home. He's
- 2:42Speaker 2: given you over eighteen fantasy points in every home start
- 2:46Speaker 2: this year. He's also thrown multiple passing touchdowns in them all.
- 2:49Speaker 2: And the Raiders generate pressure at just the fourth lowest
- 2:53Speaker 2: rate in the NFL. So I think Golf with that
- 2:55Speaker 2: Lion's offensive line will have plenty of time to just
- 2:58Speaker 2: comfortably get the ball to Lapo aman Ros Saint Brown,
- 3:01Speaker 2: all the guys that we want him to get the
- 3:03Speaker 2: ball to in fantasy football.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I Meanwhile, the Raiders have been masquerading as a defense
- 3:06Speaker 1: for the last couple of weeks, so we'll see how
- 3:08Speaker 1: that goes coming up on Monday night. Those are the quarterbacks.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Let's turn our attention now to the wide receivers. Taking
- 3:15Speaker 1: a look at your start sit list for week eight.
- 3:18Speaker 2: A lot of starts this week.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Terry McLaurin, because if you're not playing Scary Terry on
- 3:21Speaker 1: Halloween weekend, what are you doing. Zay Flowers and a
- 3:24Speaker 1: good matchup Nico Collins. I love this week.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Rashid Rice has really come to life as of late,
- 3:29Speaker 2: and you start Drake London even in spite of Arthur
- 3:33Speaker 2: Smith and then some sits like I know I said
- 3:35Speaker 2: he start your Bengals, but if you've gotten this far
- 3:37Speaker 2: without t Higgins, I think you could try to get
- 3:39Speaker 2: away from him and just play wait and see Approach,
- 3:42Speaker 2: d Hop kJ Osbourne and.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Then Jerry Judy.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Yeah, he's He's like a permanent sit right now.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Jerry Judy has been on the sit list ever since
- 3:50Speaker 1: Steve Smith smoked him on national television, just as not
- 3:53Speaker 1: being able to get off the sit list since then.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Let's talk about Zay Flowers though, because the rookie has
- 3:59Speaker 1: stepped in and been a MIAs pretty much since Week one.
- 4:02Speaker 1: The Ravens offense looks like it's starting to click right now,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and he's got a great matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and the matchup one, like you said today, Flowers
- 4:12Speaker 2: has been awesome. He's given you double digit fantasy points
- 4:14Speaker 2: in all but one games, so such a safe floor.
- 4:16Speaker 2: But the matchup is what gets me excited. Not only
- 4:19Speaker 2: have the Cardinals allowed the most fantasy points to Wade
- 4:21Speaker 2: receivers in the last month, they play zone coverage eighty
- 4:24Speaker 2: percent of the time, and Flowers eats against zone coverage
- 4:28Speaker 2: eighty eight percent of his yards and his loan touchdown
- 4:31Speaker 2: has come against that plus fifty or more yards in
- 4:34Speaker 2: his first seven career games. The only other wide receiver
- 4:37Speaker 2: to do that in NFL history is Jamar Chase. Like
- 4:41Speaker 2: he is an elite company, start Exavian kievon Flowers this week,
- 4:45Speaker 2: we use the full government name.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Absolutely looking for Flowers to bloom in the desert this week. Meanwhile,
- 4:50Speaker 1: a veteran in Tennessee not giving us what we'd hope for.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I mean, I guess it's not a surprise because the
- 4:56Speaker 1: Titans passing offense hasn't been great but now de Andre
- 4:59Speaker 1: Hopkins either dealing with Will Levis, who might be a
- 5:02Speaker 1: bona fide sociopath putting mayo in his coffee, or Malik Willis.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Either way, it doesn't seem like a good situation.
- 5:09Speaker 2: No, and even with Ryan Tannehill like, it hasn't been
- 5:13Speaker 2: great for DeAndre Hopkins this year. He's averaging less than
- 5:16Speaker 2: eleven Fantasy points per game. He scored eight or fewer
- 5:19Speaker 2: in half of them, and he has just one game
- 5:22Speaker 2: this year with over fourteen Fantasy points. So the ceiling
- 5:25Speaker 2: has been low, the floor has been even lower. It's
- 5:27Speaker 2: a rookie quarterback, we think, like you said Marcus making
- 5:29Speaker 2: his first debut, a rookie quarterback who eats banana peels
- 5:33Speaker 2: and then the falcon secondary just deranged. Yeah, singy secondary,
- 5:38Speaker 2: deranged quarterback.
- 5:39Speaker 1: A lot of reasons to get away mayo and coffee
- 5:42Speaker 1: and eating banana peels, Like Will Levis, you are, You're different.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Cat Man's all I know about that. So there you go,
- 5:48Speaker 1: avoided DeAndre Hopkins if you can this weekend. Meanwhile, we're
- 5:52Speaker 1: just getting started here. We got running backs and tight
- 5:55Speaker 1: ends coming up. Plus we got the pile up stick around.
- 5:58Speaker 1: See who scores a lot of points in check out
- 6:00Speaker 1: more of the Stardom Cindam Show done to talk some
- 6:08Speaker 1: stardom SIEM running Backs four Week eight Florio.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Go Breise Hall as must start as must start, can
- 6:14Speaker 2: be same thing for Isaiah Pacheco this week. I like
- 6:17Speaker 2: Damian Pierce and I'm gonna give Jalen Warren a shot
- 6:21Speaker 2: this week, But I'm not gonna give his teammate Naji
- 6:24Speaker 2: Harris a shot because I think he is a sit.
- 6:26Speaker 2: So is Brian Robinson, Junior Miles Sanders and Emery de Mercado.
- 6:32Speaker 2: In the entire Cardinals backfield.
- 6:34Speaker 1: That Cardinals backfield has been a headache. But let's start
- 6:36Speaker 1: with Isaiah Pacheco because well, Broncos, right.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, you think a SAT The Broncos are in
- 6:45Speaker 2: the top three and allowing it to running backs.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You don't believe me.
- 6:47Speaker 2: They're in the top three and rushing yards, rushing touchdowns,
- 6:51Speaker 2: fantasy points, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and targets, I mean
- 6:56Speaker 2: and catches.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So this is Lincoln, how would you like to play?
- 6:59Speaker 1: They physically everything?
- 7:01Speaker 2: And yeah, Isaiah Pichecko seventeen fantasy points per game in
- 7:04Speaker 2: his last five at least thirteen in all of those,
- 7:07Speaker 2: a touchdown in four of them. He at sixteen against
- 7:09Speaker 2: the Broncos earlier this year. You're starting Isaiah Pichecko this week, so.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I love the fact that you've got Jalen Warren as
- 7:16Speaker 1: a start, but Naji Harris is a set. It just
- 7:19Speaker 1: made me think of the hangover the whole like, not
- 7:20Speaker 1: you fat Jesus. That's kind of what I thought about
- 7:23Speaker 1: when I saw that. But why do you like Jalen
- 7:25Speaker 1: Warren against the Jags?
- 7:26Speaker 2: It's all about the matchup first of all. I don't
- 7:28Speaker 2: know if everyone knows this. Jalen Warren has outscored Naji
- 7:31Speaker 2: Harris every single week but won this year. The last
- 7:34Speaker 2: time they played was the only time that Naji Harris
- 7:36Speaker 2: outscored Warren. But Warren has reached double digit Fantasy points
- 7:39Speaker 2: and scored a touchdown in three straight and four of
- 7:42Speaker 2: his last five games. The Jaguars have allowed the fourth
- 7:45Speaker 2: fewest rushing yards this year to running backs, but they
- 7:48Speaker 2: allow the most catches and they're in the top four
- 7:50Speaker 2: and receiving yards allowed to the position as well, so
- 7:53Speaker 2: they struggle against past catching backs. Jalen Warren has more
- 7:56Speaker 2: than double the amount of targets this year as Naji Harris.
- 7:59Speaker 2: He's also the back that they like to use more
- 8:01Speaker 2: when they're playing from behind. So because of all of
- 8:03Speaker 2: those reasons, I think Jalen Warren is the Steelers running
- 8:06Speaker 2: back to start this stag.
- 8:07Speaker 1: At some point, hopefully the Steelers just decide to pick
- 8:09Speaker 1: one and go with it, and if it's that one,
- 8:12Speaker 1: we hope that that one is Jalen Warren. Those are
- 8:15Speaker 1: the running backs. Let's talk some tight ends because that
- 8:17Speaker 1: is maybe the most vexing position in all of fantasy football.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Who are your starts and sits for this week?
- 8:22Speaker 2: Michael Mayer because Halloween weekend of Darren Waller in the
- 8:26Speaker 2: battle for New Jersey, Taysom Hill, just keep an eye
- 8:28Speaker 2: on if Juwan Johnson is playing or not. And I
- 8:31Speaker 2: like Jake Ferguson a lot this week as well. My
- 8:34Speaker 2: sits Luke Musgrave against the Vikings David and Joku. It's
- 8:37Speaker 2: not you, it's just your offense. And then Hunter Henry
- 8:40Speaker 2: started off hot and then has just done a disappearing
- 8:43Speaker 2: act ever since.
- 8:44Speaker 1: All right, so let's talk about Michael Mayer. Do do
- 8:48Speaker 1: best Halloween movie fun fact? The Michael Myers mask is
- 8:51Speaker 1: actually a William Shatner mask painted white. I've seen Halloween.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I don't know how many times. I never knew that
- 8:57Speaker 1: would say William Shatner mask. That's paim. Don't ask me
- 8:59Speaker 1: what I know that, but it's one of those facts
- 9:01Speaker 1: that just lives rent free in my head. But Michael
- 9:03Speaker 1: Mayer starting to come on, and the Lions were as
- 9:06Speaker 1: good as they've been defensively, not good against tight ends.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the thing. The Lions have allowed the
- 9:11Speaker 2: third most yards to tight ends this season. Michael Mayer
- 9:15Speaker 2: has fully taken over, I would say, as their top
- 9:18Speaker 2: tight end there in Vegas. He played seventy two percent
- 9:20Speaker 2: of the snaps last week, ran more routes than Austin Hooper.
- 9:23Speaker 2: That's been a couple of weeks in a row now
- 9:25Speaker 2: that that has been a trend.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Look.
- 9:27Speaker 2: He is not a must start tight end, but we're
- 9:29Speaker 2: always looking for tight end streamers and I think that
- 9:32Speaker 2: is where he comes into play. Trey McBride another tight
- 9:34Speaker 2: end streamer that I like this week, but I'm chasing
- 9:38Speaker 2: rookie tight ends. I was very big on dal Kink
- 9:40Speaker 2: this week. We've both been very high on him this
- 9:43Speaker 2: year and Sam Laporta. Let's keep the rookie tight end
- 9:45Speaker 2: thing going.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Hey, the rookie tight end class was supposed to be
- 9:48Speaker 1: very good, and these guys are starting to produce at
- 9:50Speaker 1: the midway point of the fantasy season. All right. I
- 9:52Speaker 1: take no pleasure in saying this out loud, but Taysom
- 9:55Speaker 1: Hill is actually a thing and is actually producing there
- 9:58Speaker 1: in New Orleans right now.
- 10:00Speaker 2: He came through last week with sixteen point eight Fantasy points,
- 10:03Speaker 2: finished as the tight end six on the week, and
- 10:06Speaker 2: he did it in a number of different ways. Ran
- 10:08Speaker 2: forty routes, which is by far the most by a
- 10:11Speaker 2: Saints tight end. Targeted five times, caught four of them
- 10:13Speaker 2: for fifty yards. Also ran the ball five times for
- 10:16Speaker 2: eighteen yards and a touchdown. Could get involved as a
- 10:20Speaker 2: passer as well. He does some of everything, and it
- 10:24Speaker 2: could be frustrating at times because the floor's not super safe,
- 10:26Speaker 2: but we don't care when the ceiling is as high
- 10:29Speaker 2: as it's been for Taysom. And again, if Juwan Johnson sits,
- 10:32Speaker 2: he is there tight end one and it is a
- 10:35Speaker 2: good matchup as the Cults have allowed the fourth most
- 10:37Speaker 2: yards to tight.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Ends this year. I mean, he's running routes, he's getting open,
- 10:41Speaker 1: he's getting targets. At some point. As much as he
- 10:43Speaker 1: frustrates us sometimes at Fantasy it's time to admit that
- 10:46Speaker 1: Taysom Hill is actually doing some things done. Now, for
- 10:49Speaker 1: Club Doom, we had the guys that we guarantee we'll
- 10:53Speaker 1: score at least twenty five Fantasy points. Now, normally we
- 10:56Speaker 1: do this at the end of the show. Right now,
- 10:57Speaker 1: it's at the middle of the show. So consider this
- 10:59Speaker 1: kind of a day party, if you will. So, who's
- 11:03Speaker 1: got their white ones hanging out of the day party
- 11:04Speaker 1: this week?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Breece Hall, Because ever since Breis Hall has come off
- 11:08Speaker 2: to snap count, a twenty five fantasy point game is
- 11:11Speaker 2: basically an average game for him. He's averaged twenty four
- 11:13Speaker 2: point four Fantasy points per game since they take him
- 11:16Speaker 2: off to snapcount. And now he gets the Giants, who
- 11:19Speaker 2: wi allowed the second most rushing yards, third most rushing
- 11:22Speaker 2: touchdowns two running backs. They've alsolled the eighth most Fantasy
- 11:25Speaker 2: points per game. I don't worry about game script or
- 11:27Speaker 2: anything like this. In fact, I think comes Sunday night
- 11:31Speaker 2: and after the Jets win the Battle of Jersey, we're
- 11:33Speaker 2: gonna find Brice Hall down there and Karma fist pumping
- 11:37Speaker 2: with all the Jersey short people there.
- 11:38Speaker 1: It is so Breece Hall gonna be getting to going
- 11:41Speaker 1: with Mike d in the situation. But meanwhile I got
- 11:44Speaker 1: Tony Pollard. And Pollard had a big start to the
- 11:47Speaker 1: season with two touchdowns in Week one against the Giants,
- 11:50Speaker 1: and really as was on a steady decline for a
- 11:53Speaker 1: while until just at just before the bye when he
- 11:55Speaker 1: had seventeen points against the Chargers. Now he gets the
- 11:59Speaker 1: other LA team as the Cowboys, as Patrick Claibon put it,
- 12:03Speaker 1: try to be the champion of La County. The Rams
- 12:06Speaker 1: have struggled against running backs this year, especially running backs
- 12:08Speaker 1: who catch the ball out of the backfield. With the
- 12:10Speaker 1: Cowboys offense having been inconsistent, I think coming out of
- 12:13Speaker 1: the buy this is an opportunity for them to really
- 12:15Speaker 1: feature Tony Pollard, get him a lot of touches, get
- 12:18Speaker 1: him some targets, and I expect him to go big
- 12:21Speaker 1: against the Rams still to come. It is time to
- 12:25Speaker 1: hand out some awards and some grades. We're giving out
- 12:29Speaker 1: our mid term reviews as we've hit the halfway point
- 12:31Speaker 1: of the fantasy season. Stick around for more of the
- 12:33Speaker 1: stardom Sittam Show, it's time for our mid term review.
- 12:42Speaker 1: To help us out with that, Laqwan Jones researcher extraordinary.
- 12:46Speaker 1: We all have a set of awards that we are
- 12:49Speaker 1: handing out, so we'll give the award and we'll talk
- 12:52Speaker 1: about the player. So, Florio, what is the award you'd
- 12:55Speaker 1: like to hand out first? The biggest league winner so far?
- 12:59Speaker 1: And to me, there is this is a no contest.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It is Puka Nikua right now.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I mean Poka Nakula and fantasy leagues either win as
- 13:07Speaker 2: like a last round draft pick or undrafted. And through
- 13:10Speaker 2: seven weeks, the only players with more non quarterbacks with
- 13:13Speaker 2: more Fantasy points Tyreek Hill, Christian McCaffrey, Stefan Diggs and
- 13:17Speaker 2: AJ Brown. They were all either first round picks or
- 13:20Speaker 2: borderline first round picks. And that is how good pokah
- 13:23Speaker 2: Nikua has been.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I mean, it's gotta be amazing for anybody who kind
- 13:27Speaker 1: of slucked up on him on the waiver wire. You
- 13:29Speaker 1: mentioned deeper leagues, he was drafted maybe in the late rounds.
- 13:33Speaker 1: He has been amazing. In Lakwan. You are our resident
- 13:36Speaker 1: Rams fan here. I know Sean McVay talked him up,
- 13:39Speaker 1: but I don't think even the most optimistic Rams fan
- 13:42Speaker 1: expected this from Puka.
- 13:44Speaker 2: No.
- 13:44Speaker 3: I mean, like even on draft day when we like
- 13:46Speaker 3: picked him up, I was looking at his clips. I'm like,
- 13:48Speaker 3: he's very versatile, like he can be used all over
- 13:51Speaker 3: this Rams offense. So I figured, like, hey, he will
- 13:53Speaker 3: eventually find his way on the field, but I did
- 13:55Speaker 3: not expect him to explode. It's what he's doing right now.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I mean, it's amazing that he's going out there and
- 14:02Speaker 3: producing the way he is.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It's sort of fitting though, right because he plays next
- 14:05Speaker 1: to Cooper Cup, who's another guy from a smaller school
- 14:07Speaker 1: that nobody had really heard of, who came out of
- 14:10Speaker 1: nowhere and blossomed into the superstar almost right away in
- 14:13Speaker 1: the La Rams offense. All right, so Nikua, right now
- 14:16Speaker 1: the biggest league winner, Lakwan, what award would you like
- 14:20Speaker 1: to hand out?
- 14:20Speaker 3: I'm going to give the Overachiever Award to Traves etn Man.
- 14:23Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, you were drafting as a RB two,
- 14:26Speaker 3: maybe even RB three. He was dropping in drafts, but man,
- 14:29Speaker 3: he's returning huge with RB one numbers. I mean he's
- 14:32Speaker 3: the top five running back round now, averaging nineteen Fantasy points.
- 14:36Speaker 3: For a game. I mean, what more could you ask for?
- 14:38Speaker 3: I mean over the summer, we were all hyped about
- 14:40Speaker 3: this tank bell I mean Tank Bigsby hype. But I
- 14:43Speaker 3: was guilty of that as well, like cutting to some
- 14:45Speaker 3: of these opportunities. But Traves Etn is tied with Christian
- 14:48Speaker 3: McCaffrey right now and touches, so you gotta love the
- 14:50Speaker 3: return that you're getting back on him right now.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I mean, as of like a week or so ago,
- 14:54Speaker 1: the only two players in the NFL that had five
- 14:56Speaker 1: hundred and more rushing yards and five or more rushing
- 14:59Speaker 1: touchdowns were Christian Caffrey and Travis Etn and Florida. Maybe
- 15:02Speaker 1: the biggest thing is that they're actually getting targets to
- 15:04Speaker 1: him now. It's something we didn't see his first couple
- 15:06Speaker 1: of years in the NFL, and.
- 15:07Speaker 2: It's something that we kept clan like, we want them
- 15:10Speaker 2: to throw him the ball. We know he can be
- 15:12Speaker 2: used as a pass catcher. And also the touchdowns, Like
- 15:15Speaker 2: remember the first month of the year, we were like, oh,
- 15:16Speaker 2: Travis Etn is great, but they're using Bigsby near the
- 15:19Speaker 2: goal on the touchdowns haven't been there. He's got like
- 15:21Speaker 2: six in the last month or whatever it is.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Yeah, he has been legitimately a workhorse back in that
- 15:27Speaker 1: Jacksonville offense and the Travis etn has given you huge,
- 15:31Speaker 1: huge value. Speaking of value, my best value pick for
- 15:35Speaker 1: the first half of the season has been Sam Laporta.
- 15:38Speaker 1: And this is the guy who got a lot of
- 15:41Speaker 1: hype during the preseason, during training camp and was getting
- 15:44Speaker 1: drafted sort of later in drafts. He was gonna be
- 15:46Speaker 1: your tight end two. Right now he is the tight
- 15:49Speaker 1: end four. Overall has been amazing and it comes at
- 15:53Speaker 1: a position where we're looking for help anywhere we can
- 15:57Speaker 1: find it. I mean, Lakwan, look, we knew that the
- 16:00Speaker 1: offense was going to be good. We knew how mont
- 16:02Speaker 1: Ross Saint Brown was gonna get his But I think again,
- 16:04Speaker 1: if you were optimistic about Sam Laporta, you didn't think
- 16:06Speaker 1: he was going to be coming every week starter the
- 16:08Speaker 1: way he has. Absolutely not.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Man.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I mean, Jered Goff is targeting him as if he's
- 16:13Speaker 3: his Tyler Higbee. You know he's going to be using
- 16:15Speaker 3: security blankets, but he's using him as a actual elite target.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I mean, having Sam Laporta on the fail for him,
- 16:21Speaker 3: he has to feel a lot more comfortable if a
- 16:24Speaker 3: Monro's doubled because Sam laport is going downfield and making
- 16:27Speaker 3: the big plays just like a mon Ros Saint Brown.
- 16:29Speaker 3: So I'm pretty sure he's happy. Sam Laporta was drafting
- 16:32Speaker 3: and he's going to be there for a while.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Iowa Heightened University just pumping out another one that we
- 16:37Speaker 1: can love for fantasy football. All Right, So while we
- 16:40Speaker 1: love having Sam Laporta on our rosters, Florida, you've got
- 16:44Speaker 1: somebody that we maybe are a little bit frustrated with. Yeah,
- 16:48Speaker 1: my biggest disappointment so far, because there's still time for
- 16:51Speaker 1: him to write the ship unfortunately, goes to a player
- 16:54Speaker 1: that I was really high on this offseason, Calvin Ridley.
- 16:58Speaker 2: And you see their wide receiver thirty seven right now.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I'm giving him a d. I'm hopeful, but he starts
- 17:03Speaker 2: to turn the season around this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I think he's in play as a start for there.
- 17:09Speaker 2: But it's been so up and down getting to this point.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I thought that he was going to be a fantasy
- 17:15Speaker 2: wide receiver one. Not even sure we could say that
- 17:17Speaker 2: he's been the wide receiver one. Well, I'm sure we
- 17:20Speaker 2: cannot say that he has not been the wide receiver
- 17:23Speaker 2: one on his own team thus far.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I mean Lakwan. We had Week one when he had
- 17:27Speaker 1: over one hundred yards, had a touchdown. We were all
- 17:29Speaker 1: dancing a jig, figuring, all right, here comes the breakout,
- 17:31Speaker 1: like Cali really is back since that's been the Christian
- 17:34Speaker 1: Kirk show. I mean, any hope that things turn around
- 17:37Speaker 1: on the second half. I'm not quite sure.
- 17:38Speaker 3: It's not looking good because he got Christian Kirk, he's
- 17:41Speaker 3: kind of been Travis Trevor uh Lawrence's alpha guy in
- 17:44Speaker 3: that offense. And Calvin Ridley, like you said, week one,
- 17:47Speaker 3: we were celebrating. Then it's like, oh no, we suck again.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Like I really don't understand what's going on and how
- 17:53Speaker 3: he's not really gelling into this offense. But hopefully he
- 17:56Speaker 3: could bring it around. But right now it's just not
- 17:59Speaker 3: looking good. It is not looking good for Calvin Ridley.
- 18:01Speaker 1: We'll see what happens for him in Week eight against
- 18:04Speaker 1: the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meanwhile, you got another guy who has
- 18:09Speaker 1: broken our hearts so far this season.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Yeah, broke in my heart is like an understatement, man.
- 18:13Speaker 3: I mean Damian Pierce. What is going on?
- 18:15Speaker 1: He gets the dumpster fire.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Award man because it's just been bad, Like, it just
- 18:19Speaker 3: has not been good man, two point nine yards per carry,
- 18:22Speaker 3: averaging less than ten fantasy points per game. I mean,
- 18:25Speaker 3: we know the talent is there, and we know Houston's
- 18:28Speaker 3: old line has been bad, but it's just been a
- 18:30Speaker 3: complete dumpster fire. I mean, come on, man, where's the
- 18:32Speaker 3: guy that was advertised this summer of being more involved
- 18:35Speaker 3: in the passing game. This dude has nine catches. I mean,
- 18:38Speaker 3: who do I send the email or the letter to
- 18:40Speaker 3: to say, Hey, this is not what I bought, this
- 18:42Speaker 3: is false advertisement. So it's just been bad. I want
- 18:45Speaker 3: to be mad if fantasy managers want to kick him
- 18:47Speaker 3: off the roster.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I yeah, I understand folks who are dropping Damian Pierce.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I sort of share your pain too, because I went
- 18:53Speaker 1: heavy on him in drafts this season. Almost floy I'll
- 18:56Speaker 1: say this, to start the second half of the season,
- 18:59Speaker 1: he's got a choice match up ahead of him. I
- 19:01Speaker 1: mean it feels like, you know, Week eight could be
- 19:03Speaker 1: the first day of the rest of his fantasy life hopefully.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you saw on the RB boards I have Damian
- 19:08Speaker 2: Pierce as a start this week. Laquon both of our
- 19:11Speaker 2: disappointments really and Damian Pierce. It starts here. They're gonna
- 19:15Speaker 2: fix it, all.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Right, We're turning things around. Meanwhile, I'm giving you the
- 19:19Speaker 1: we all saw this coming award, and this is a
- 19:21Speaker 1: guy who's not on your start list this week. It
- 19:23Speaker 1: is Naji Harris going into drafts this season, I think
- 19:27Speaker 1: a lot of fantasy analysts, a lot of fantasy managers
- 19:30Speaker 1: were very wary of drafting Naji Harris. You saw him
- 19:33Speaker 1: falling in drafts. There was the concern that Jalen Warren
- 19:37Speaker 1: was going to take some opportunities away from him. And
- 19:39Speaker 1: everything we were worried about has come to fruition. He
- 19:43Speaker 1: is the RB thirty six right now, he is tied.
- 19:47Speaker 1: He has the same number of Fantasy points as Taija Spears,
- 19:50Speaker 1: who is behind Derek Henry. He wasn't even playing, you know,
- 19:52Speaker 1: early in this season. He's just slightly ahead of Chuba Hubbard.
- 19:56Speaker 1: That's how bad things have been for Naji Harris. You
- 19:59Speaker 1: heard Laurio mentioned it early in the show that he's
- 20:02Speaker 1: been outscored by Jalen Warren in every single week but one.
- 20:06Speaker 1: He only has two games with double digit fantasy points.
- 20:10Speaker 1: He's generally been around five to six points most weeks,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and I mean Floria at this point, like, what do
- 20:17Speaker 1: you do because no one's gonna trade you for him?
- 20:20Speaker 1: Do you just drop Najie Harris? Now, I think he
- 20:22Speaker 1: gets too much volume where you can't drop him just
- 20:25Speaker 1: in case of injuries or buys.
- 20:27Speaker 2: But we always say, like anchor on your fantasy lineup,
- 20:30Speaker 2: that's Naji Harris is the definition of an.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Ankor just an anchor around that lineup right now? All right,
- 20:35Speaker 1: so let's come back around something a little bit more upbeat, Floria.
- 20:38Speaker 1: You've got something that we can all agree on right now.
- 20:40Speaker 2: The best Player in the World award. You already know
- 20:45Speaker 2: who I'm gonna say, it's Tyreek Hill. Like the scariest
- 20:48Speaker 2: site on an NFL football field is when Tyrek Kill
- 20:51Speaker 2: throws up the peace sign at your defense.
- 20:53Speaker 1: You just know it's a rap.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Then hey plus plus plus grade and you see there
- 20:57Speaker 2: one hundred and eighty six points, six PPR points. Coming
- 21:00Speaker 2: into Week eight, no other player was within fifteen Fantasy
- 21:04Speaker 2: points of him, and fifteen is a good game for
- 21:07Speaker 2: most players not named Tyreek Hill. Even with not having
- 21:10Speaker 2: played this week, he has more Fantasy points on the
- 21:12Speaker 2: year than Josh Allen and Stefan Diggs and all the
- 21:15Speaker 2: Bucks who have played an extra game more than he has.
- 21:18Speaker 2: He is the absolute best player in Fantasy right now,
- 21:22Speaker 2: and it's looking like if you don't have Tyreek Hill,
- 21:24Speaker 2: you might not be able to win a championship.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I mean, it's wild you talk about, you know, fifteen points.
- 21:29Speaker 1: He had fifteen points in one game way back in
- 21:31Speaker 1: Week two. If he came back with fifteen points this week,
- 21:34Speaker 1: you'd be like, what what's wrong with Tyreek Hill? Yeah?
- 21:37Speaker 1: What happened where? Didn't go wrong any other widers. If
- 21:39Speaker 1: you're like, oh, that's pretty good, Tyrek Hill give you
- 21:41Speaker 1: fifteen points, You're like, ooh, he must have been sick
- 21:43Speaker 1: or something. No idea, what happened there? Lukwan, You've got
- 21:48Speaker 1: an underdog story right now. Yeah, you got a roof
- 21:51Speaker 1: for underdogs. Man.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Jacobe Myers has always been a productive wide receiver, even
- 21:55Speaker 3: dating back to his time in New England, which I'm
- 21:57Speaker 3: not quite sure why they let him walk, but man,
- 22:00Speaker 3: the best thing about Jacoby Myers right now is that
- 22:02Speaker 3: he's scoring touchdowns. Like that's the best thing going on
- 22:05Speaker 3: for him. He had trouble finding the enzone in New England.
- 22:07Speaker 3: He's actually leading the Raiders right now in touchdowns. Like
- 22:10Speaker 3: every time Jacoby Myers are scoring touchdowns, I was screening
- 22:13Speaker 3: my living room like a psychopath. He would think it
- 22:16Speaker 3: was pooking decor or a Cooper cuff like scoring touchdowns.
- 22:18Speaker 3: But like, I just got a roof for the underdog.
- 22:20Speaker 3: He's such a productive wide receiver. He's top twelve right
- 22:23Speaker 3: now and averaging seventeen Fantasy points per game, and like
- 22:26Speaker 3: he's has more targets than DeVante Adams in the last
- 22:30Speaker 3: three games. Like this is crazy to really talk about.
- 22:32Speaker 3: And you were getting him so late in drafts, so
- 22:34Speaker 3: you got a roof for the underdog here.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Man, the Patriots had to move on from Jacoby Myers.
- 22:39Speaker 1: That you give targets to a wash to Juju Smith
- 22:41Speaker 1: Houston just makes perfect sense. He's also made Hunter renfro expendable.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I mean, guy, yeah, it's a man like you forget
- 22:48Speaker 1: that he's on the roster because he's never on the
- 22:50Speaker 1: field and never seen, never gets targets in their offense anymore.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Our last award of the show is the Goodwill Hunting Award.
- 22:59Speaker 1: It's not your fault. It's not your fault. Kyle Pitts
- 23:03Speaker 1: it's not your fault. He doesn't get a great he
- 23:06Speaker 1: is an incomplete because look, it's not about you, Kyle,
- 23:08Speaker 1: it's about your head coach, who apparently just fantasy football
- 23:12Speaker 1: lives rent free in Arthur Smith's brain because every time
- 23:15Speaker 1: somebody asks him about his player usage, he makes a
- 23:18Speaker 1: reference to fantasy football. It's like, you know, Arthur, this
- 23:20Speaker 1: is about your offense maybe not living up to its
- 23:23Speaker 1: full potential because you want to force feed Cordero Patterson touches.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Nobody understands it. You've got a guy who's just an
- 23:29Speaker 1: absolute freak of nature athletically, and Kyle Pitts. You can't
- 23:32Speaker 1: consistently get opportunities. When we as fantasy folks, say you
- 23:37Speaker 1: should give Kyle Pitts the ball, it's not solely because
- 23:40Speaker 1: we want our fantasy teams to succeed, but it's because
- 23:42Speaker 1: it seems like you'd be the best reason for your
- 23:44Speaker 1: offense to succeed. Floryda, I mean, I know we do
- 23:48Speaker 1: this every week on the NFL Fantasy Football Show, we
- 23:50Speaker 1: do it here, right, but like, I don't even know
- 23:54Speaker 1: what to say anymore other than why why is this
- 23:56Speaker 1: happening to us? You know how Arthur Smith clearly has
- 23:59Speaker 1: some staying for fantasy managers.
- 24:01Speaker 2: That's exactly how we feel about you, Arthur Smith. Like
- 24:04Speaker 2: and just remember the Internet always gets the last laugh.
- 24:08Speaker 2: So we're just we're gonna keep this all in our
- 24:10Speaker 2: mind and we'll see at the end of the.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Year we've got the receipts. I mean, LQ, there's nothing
- 24:15Speaker 1: that brings the fantasy community together like Arthur Smith. Like
- 24:18Speaker 1: we don't agree on anything. We all agree that we
- 24:21Speaker 1: don't like the way Arthur Smith runs this.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Offense absolutely not Like I don't even care for the
- 24:25Speaker 3: Falcons in general. But when he comes to Kyle Pitts,
- 24:27Speaker 3: he's a generational talent and you're just keeping the Lamborghini
- 24:30Speaker 3: in the garage man, just letting him out, go on
- 24:32Speaker 3: the road and fit one hundred and forty, do whatever.
- 24:35Speaker 1: The case may be.
- 24:35Speaker 3: But he needs the ball in his hands more times
- 24:39Speaker 3: than John and Smith.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I'll tell you that. I mean it really is that
- 24:41Speaker 1: meme of the sports card next to the beat up
- 24:43Speaker 1: old house with the whack car and cover on it,
- 24:46Speaker 1: That's exactly what Kyle Pitts is in the Falcons offense. Mean, well,
- 24:49Speaker 1: this show, it's been a lot of fun. We hope
- 24:51Speaker 1: that you enjoyed it. We enjoyed having you with us
- 24:54Speaker 1: on this episode of The Startum Sodam Show. For Laqwan Jones,
- 24:57Speaker 1: for Michael lef Floyda, I am Marcus Grant. We appreciate you. Hey,
- 25:00Speaker 1: it out with us. We'll talk to you again real
- 25:01Speaker 1: soon
