- 1:15Yours Truly Johnny Dollar, The Shady Lane Matter, Part three and Part four
- 1:22from Hollywood. It's time now for Johnny Dollar, mister Dollar. Where this
- 1:32is Jed Bremler. Oh, hi, you Constable Reckon. I got the
- 1:34wrong number. I was calling Shady Lane Cafe. Now you've got it.
- 1:38I'm sitting right here at the counter, but where's Milly, missus Dollar.
- 1:42She's busy crying at the moments. I'm waiting for her to get through and
- 1:46hoping she'll confess to murder. Now you hadn't aught gone and made her cry
- 1:49that way. Millie is a fine girl. That's the trouble with this whole
- 1:53case. According to you, everybody in this township is fine people, all
- 1:57of them. Ellen Bates was a fine woman too, and now she's dead,
- 2:00and one of these fine people killed her. I'm going to find out
- 2:04which one, mister Bramler, and I'm going to tag him for it.
- 2:07With your helper without it tonight and every weekday night, Bob Bailey in the
- 2:17Transcribed Adventures of the Band with the Action packed Expenser, count America's Fabulous Freelance
- 2:23Insurance Investigator, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. From Special Investigator Johnny Dollar,
- 2:39Location, Shady Lane, Vermont to the home office Star Mutual Insurance Company,
- 2:44Hartford, Connecticut. Assignment the Shady Lane matter expense account continued Item seven A
- 2:53dollar and forty cents one pot road special at the Shady Lane Cafe. While
- 2:57waitress Milly Wells dried her tears and repaired her I thought over what she'd said,
- 3:02what I'd taken for a confession, and tried to fit it in with
- 3:06the other facts in the case, what few facts there were. A young
- 3:09farm wife, a semi invalid named Ellen Bates, had been shot to death
- 3:14while sitting at the front window of her house. The weapon was an old
- 3:16fashioned squirrel rifle, a type of gun on by half the people in the
- 3:20township. Ellen Bates had no known enemies. Her husband, beneficiary of a
- 3:25ten thousand dollars insurance policy on his wife's life, had been accused by a
- 3:29spiteful neighbor of carrying on with pretty waitress Milly Wells. It's a line,
- 3:34mister Dollar. Anyone who says Ben and I were seeing each other, even
- 3:38thought of such a thing before his wife's death, is a mean, vicious
- 3:40line. All right, Take it easy, now, take it easy.
- 3:43There's no point in getting yourself all worked up and starting to cry again.
- 3:46Ben's a fine man, straight and decent, and it makes me boiled.
- 3:50I have some low sneaking gossip try to smear his reputation without reason. It
- 3:54reflects on your reputation a little too. I don't care about me. I
- 3:59told you what I've been through. I'm used to it. Do you ever
- 4:00get used to something like that? No? No, not really. Murder
- 4:06charge isn't an easy thing to forget. Dream about it nights prison, the
- 4:12courtroom, the trial, the things they said about. But you were acquitted.
- 4:15Finally I was acquitted and I was innocent. Just being tried for murder
- 4:20brands a person for life. What worthy details of the case. First,
- 4:26let me tell you about Ben. You haven't met him yet, mister Dollar.
- 4:29You don't know him, and I know the line you're thinking along.
- 4:32It's the way things point rely, then things point wrong. That's all.
- 4:38Maybe go on. Well, he's been coming in here for the last six
- 4:44months, not often, just just every once in a while, just to
- 4:47eat. Does Ben no use stood trial on a murder church? He does
- 4:50now. He didn't before before his wife was killed. We just made conversation,
- 4:57that's all. And since her death there's been no care on Some people
- 5:01choose to think one day, Ben said Millie, when when this mess is
- 5:05all settled, I'd like very much to see more of you. That's all.
- 5:11That's all, And that's enough because I love him. About the trial,
- 5:18it was four years ago in Chicago. I was working for a family
- 5:25on the west side as a nursemaid governess. They were wonderful what happened.
- 5:30The wife died suddenly under strange circumstances. It could have been an accident,
- 5:39or it might have been poison. I thought you already knew about it.
- 5:44That's why I blurted it out that way. Oh, I'd have found out
- 5:46anyway, sooner or later. Yes, I know it was in all the
- 5:49headlines, the same things that they'll be saying about me here. What do
- 5:54you mean I was accused of murdering the wife because I was in love with
- 5:58a husband. I left the shady lane cafe, and the tortured girl,
- 6:02whose secret close hidden for four frightened years, was now the property of a
- 6:06stranger. It was late now, and the town square was dark and deserted.
- 6:14A stark white moon was climbing the eastern sky, and the soft summer
- 6:16night's breath stirred in the leafy tops of the maples, whispering other secrets,
- 6:21secrets the villagers dared not stay abroad and listen to him. A fantasy,
- 6:27sure, pure and simple. Oh maybe it was a bad slice of podclist
- 6:33anyway. The dim light burning in the office of Constable Jed Bramler brought me
- 6:38back a harsh reality a man, Miss donner Man, pull up the chair.
- 6:42Okay, thanks that the girl stopped crying it sniffling a little, maybe,
- 6:48but she's practically stopped for the time being, at least lean something by
- 6:54that. You know what I mean by it? Yeah? I reckon you
- 6:56must have found out about her past, so to speak about it. Yeah,
- 7:00since the day she came to town, stopped in to see me,
- 7:02told me all about it when you were keeping it pretty quiet, weren't you.
- 7:05It was told in confidence, mister Dollar. All right, but this
- 7:09is a murder case. They don't have no bearing. Milly ain't involved.
- 7:12Would you mind if I had a chance to decide that once in a while,
- 7:15didn't know you'd be interested. Don't you realize that Millie Wells may be
- 7:18the reason for the killing? Still beating the dead horse, eh, I
- 7:21think that horse is coming to life. Mister Bramler, You do the way
- 7:25things stand right now? Or prosecuting attorney could go into court with a pretty
- 7:28strong case. The charge first degree murder accused your friend Ben Bates. You
- 7:33ain't met Ben yet, mister Doll. No, no, I haven't met
- 7:36him, but the facts that it up. It's an old, old story.
- 7:40Yeah, it's downright passy. An invalid wife, a pretty girl,
- 7:43a rundown farm that doesn't look as though it's made a provident years, a
- 7:46ten thousand dollars life insurance policy dangling like a carrots. Yeah. Fact is,
- 7:50it's even worse a picture if you're remind to look at it that way.
- 7:54Ah, that farm of Bends ain't only run down, it's mortgage to
- 7:58the hilt. Then needed money for Ellen's operations. She'd had three in the
- 8:03last year and a half. He tried every way he knew how to.
- 8:05The banks wouldn't touch it. Well in that case, Martin Preeny is next
- 8:09door neighbor come through and helped him out. Seventy five hundred dollars. Is
- 8:13the farm worth that much? Nope, wouldn't bring forty five hundred if it
- 8:18was sold tomorrow, That's what I mean. Then, feels pretty obligated.
- 8:22And the ten thousand dollars from that policy on his wife would have taken the
- 8:24pressure off all the way around, plus leave him free to marry Millie Wells.
- 8:30All right, all right, I know'dadge up that way. I've been
- 8:35studying over this thing for a month now, trying to figure out some other
- 8:37way of explaining it, hoping that somebody would show their hand, Yes,
- 8:43make a move some kind, and nothing's happened. Huh No, whoever done
- 8:46it is just setting tight waiting. Might be a good thing that you come
- 8:50along. My jar. Things loose a little. Yeah, Well, whether
- 8:54I'm right or wrong, one thing we've got, the jar looses that gun.
- 8:58That's a fact, right. Can't make much of a case against nobody
- 9:01without that gun, you said, nearly everybody in the township own one of
- 9:05those old fashioned squirrel rifles, the type Ellen was killed with. That's right.
- 9:09What about her husband, it's been on one. Nope, nothing but
- 9:13a shotgun. Yes, I saw it when we were out there this afternoon,
- 9:16hanging over the mantle. But at the same time I noticed something else.
- 9:22What do you mean? That shotgun was resting on a pair of hooks
- 9:26set into the bricks above the fireplace. But the hooks hadn't been put there
- 9:30for that particular gun. They were too far apart. What are you getting
- 9:35at, mister Doller. I think those hooks would fit a squirrel rifle just
- 9:39fine. Ben ain't one to lie. He told me he didn't have a
- 9:45rifle. But that's something else I've been steadying about. What do you mean?
- 9:50I kind of half remember seeing a squirrel gun hanging over that mantle in
- 9:52years gone by, Expencer count I had have eight three dollars car expense for
- 10:01another trip out to the Baits farm, a late night trip this time,
- 10:05and the last one, I hoped. Constable Bramler had suggested that my being
- 10:09in the case might help stir things up good. I was all for it.
- 10:11And not just stir things up, but wind them up tonight. Maybe
- 10:15if we caught Ben Baits at home, lights on inside, you must we
- 10:20hear something. Oh evening, jaid Man like you to meet mister Johnny Dollar.
- 10:30It's a dollar. You fellows are a late little and I reckon mind
- 10:33if we come inside Ben? Oh sure, sorry, Jed, I didn't
- 10:37think. Let's go on back through to the kitchen. That's about the only
- 10:41room I use since well anymore. I mean, set your homes down there
- 10:46at the table. I'll get some lemonade if there's any ice left. Oh,
- 10:48a lemonade left would suit me fine. Don't go no trouble for us
- 10:52man. Oh, no trouble at all, got it already made. Just
- 10:54have to chip the little ice into it. I reckon, you'll kind of
- 11:00have to bear with me. I'm not much used to having callers come around
- 11:03since Hellen. It's all right, Ben, here we are. Hey,
- 11:11You fellow's got some business out this way tonight. The fact is, Ben,
- 11:15we come out here to talk to you, mister dollars and insurance investigator,
- 11:18be here to find out who killed Ellen. I see you got any
- 11:22ideas yet, mister Donna, I've I've kind of got an idea. You
- 11:28might have done it, Ben, I wouldn't have harmed a hair of Ellen's
- 11:31head. I could be wrong. Mister Dollar has been checking around Ben,
- 11:37talking to people here and their prenees, Millie Wells. What's Milly got to
- 11:41do with it? Nothing? Maybe? Or she might be part of the
- 11:43motive. I didn't even make her acquaintance hardly for the last week or two.
- 11:48What about missus Preeney. You've known her longer, haven't you. Yes,
- 11:52she was a good friend of Ellen's. Why she thinks you killed your
- 11:56wife? She wrote an anonymous letter about it to the insurance. The woman's
- 11:58crazy. I knew she never liked me for some reason, but I sure
- 12:01wouldn't figure her to go that far. Ben. Whatever happened that squirrel rifle
- 12:07you had around the house? Why the week before Ellen died somebody yes,
- 12:11been No, I didn't lie to you, Jed not Actually when I told
- 12:16you I didn't have a rifle like that, I didn't not then, and
- 12:20you didn't ask me if I had had one. What happened to the rifle?
- 12:24It was still the week before Ellen was killed. I haven't seen it
- 12:26since. No, that's the truth, mister Dolla. You didn't report it
- 12:30being stolen. Ell then asked me not to. She figured she knew who
- 12:33took it, and she wanted to give them a chance to make good,
- 12:37you know how she was. But after she'd been a shot by that same
- 12:39kind of rifle, you still didn't report it, report afterward that the gun
- 12:43had been took before. Who might have taken it? Then? I tried
- 12:48to think it wasn't. Nobody came here that week except missus Preeney and Rody
- 12:52Hawkins. Rody Hawkins, that's the hired hand we met here this afternoon,
- 12:56Miss Della, Yeah, I know the one I was a dead shot with
- 12:58a gun. Yeah, Brody wouldn't kill nobody. He's a little touched byby
- 13:01but he's good hearted and gentle. Is he another one of your pets?
- 13:05Constable? Don't you care whether the killer is identified? Kind of a funny
- 13:09question to ask a murder victims? Uncle, uncle, mister Bramler was Ellen
- 13:18Bates your niece. He didn't think to mention it. Mister Dollar just figured
- 13:24you knew. I guess, And anyhow, you don't have no bearing from
- 13:45Hollywood. It's time now for Johnny Dollar. Hello, Hello, Hello,
- 13:54Hello, Sorry to scare off your collar, Ben. You always answer other
- 14:03people's phones, mister Dollar. Yeah, when it's right on my elbow.
- 14:05And when I want to find out who's calling at this time tonight? Did
- 14:09you find out? I think so. I know of only one person in
- 14:11the township who'd probably hang up when they heard my voice. And who you
- 14:16reckon? That'd be mister Dona, Millie Wells, Jed who else? I
- 14:18think you'd better leave Milly out of this, if you don't mind. I
- 14:20can understand your concern, Ben, but I'm afraid I can't go along with
- 14:24it. Your wife has been murdered. Gossip around town says, you and
- 14:28Milly have been interested in each other, and Millie stood trial four years ago
- 14:31on a charge of murder ed it up. Ben dded up tonight and every
- 14:43weekday night. Bob Bailey in the transcribed Adventures of the Man with the Action
- 14:48Packed Expense of Coud America's Fabulous freelance insurance Investigator, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar
- 15:05from Special Investigator Johnny Dollar, location Shady Lane, Vermont to the home office
- 15:11Star Mutual Insurance Company, Hartford, Connecticut. Assignment the Shady Lane matter expense
- 15:16account continued. It was a messy case, hard to move around in a
- 15:26small community, and everybody in it was a neighbor or friend of everybody else,
- 15:30except, of course, the unknown person who'd murdered Ellen, ben Bates
- 15:33invalid wife. But the ties were close. Ellen had turned out was the
- 15:39niece of Constable Jed Bramler, and Sarah priny next door neighbor, had accused
- 15:43Ben of carrying on with waitress Millie Wells, who was a good friend of
- 15:46Constable Brambler, and Sarah Priney's husband had helped Ben out of a jam by
- 15:50loaning him seventy five hundred dollars on a worthless farm. Yeah, it was
- 15:56sticky and tight and uncomfortable. Touch one domino, and you moved all of
- 15:58them. But the key to the game I was still convinced was Ben Bates
- 16:03himself. Yah, you're wrong, mister Dolla. I've known Ben here for
- 16:07more years than I can't think about murdered. Just ain't in his nature,
- 16:11Mister Bramler. I think you're just too close to this case to keep her
- 16:15perspective on it. I know these people and you don't. Well, that's
- 16:18exactly the point. Ben is your friend. He was married to your niece,
- 16:22so you just can't imagine him committing a murder. Ain't in his nature.
- 16:26Oh, I've never seen a killer yet without at least a few friends
- 16:29who were certain that murder wasn't in his nature. Now listen to me,
- 16:30both of you. There's not a question of my nature. It's a question
- 16:34of fact, and the fact is a plain and simple one. I didn't
- 16:37kill Ellen, mister Dolla. A lot of things say different Ben, and
- 16:41there's nothing at all between me and Milly. If Ellen had lived, i'd
- 16:44never spoken to her as it is. I've only asked her if I could
- 16:47see her sometime once this thing is all settled, when you're together. At
- 16:51least that's about what she told me. We're together because it's the truth,
- 16:53mister Dolla, or because you've already talked it over one fault. I haven't
- 16:57got it, Lion, Not even about your wife being stolen. Well,
- 17:00it wasn't no actual lie. When Jedeair asked me if I had a squirrel
- 17:06gun, I said no, And like I told you, I didn't,
- 17:08then it had already been stolen. Suppose he'd asked you if you had a
- 17:12squirrel rifle, I reckon I'd have had to fess up to it. Well
- 17:18we'll never know, of course, for sure, but one thing is sure.
- 17:22After your wife was shot and killed by a gun of that same type,
- 17:25you still didn't report to the constable here that yours had been taken.
- 17:27Well, I I explained it to you. How would it looked if I'd
- 17:32have told him after Ellen was shot that my old squirrel gun had been stolen
- 17:34before, and you didn't report the theft when had happened because Ellen asked you
- 17:37not to. Was that the story? She thought she knew who took it.
- 17:41She wanted a chance to get it back without causing them trouble, and
- 17:44of course she's not here and now of banking up on that, it's the
- 17:47truth. She was like that, jed here, I'll tell you, kind
- 17:49hearted and tolerant with people. Yeah, he was that, all right.
- 17:52It's a fact. If either Missus Preeney or Grody Hawkins took it, and
- 17:56they're the only ones that was here that week, then she was aimed to
- 18:00talk to whichever one it was and get it back without bringing the lawyer.
- 18:03Only she never had the chance to she was killed. Yeah, yeah,
- 18:07and that gun figures in it somehow, it's bound to. Look, we've
- 18:11got to find it, mister Bramler, right takes him do it, then
- 18:15we better get at it tonight. Tonight. We got things stirred up.
- 18:18Now, let's keep them stirred up, all right, Ben, you claim
- 18:22you're not guilly of this. It ain't a claim, it's a fact.
- 18:25Then who would you say is the most likely suspect? Ellen didn't have a
- 18:29single enemy in this world. As far as I know, there ain't a
- 18:32person in this township that had a reason to kill her except you. For
- 18:37the money, you mean, for that life insurance policy. It's worth ten
- 18:40thousand dollars, And I'm that kind you think a man who'd murder his own
- 18:45wife just to get his hands on ten thousand dollars. Ben, I don't
- 18:49know, but there's one thing he can count on. I'm gonna find out.
- 18:57Constable Bramler and I have been alone and his empty farm. I was
- 19:00drove back into town. The moon was higher now, and the countryside was
- 19:03dappled in black and silver, and it too was empty in silence. We
- 19:10alone moved and made noise as we rattled down the winding dirt road through the
- 19:12flint rock valleys between the sleeping elms and maples. Logic still pointed at Ben
- 19:18Bates, but I'd begun to doubt logic A little Rambler was right. Murder
- 19:23didn't seem to be in Ben's nature, And I wasn't sure now whether he
- 19:26sat there in his silent house alone with guilt or alone with grief. Rodi
- 19:33lives back at the feed store there. What do you mean back of it?
- 19:37Eh? Kind of a shock there on the back corner of the lot.
- 19:41They let him live in it and returned for keeping an eye on the
- 19:42store at night. H quite a choice for a night watch when a kid
- 19:45who's been up several times for petty theft. Mm hmm, I reckon.
- 19:49It does seem a bit odd. Well, let's go see if he's there.
- 19:55You know, folks around here use a person according to his nature Rode.
- 20:00He is pretty reliable. It's something he's made RESPONSI before. And why
- 20:03do you think he might have stolen that squirrel rifle from Ben Bates' place?
- 20:07He was working for Ben, wasn't he, but just as a hired hand.
- 20:10He wasn't hired spatially, not steel. But here he is. Now
- 20:15that's a fine point of ethics. Most points of ethics is that way,
- 20:18reck and groady, just as here things sometimes so people will notice him,
- 20:22take an interest in him. He's a little simple minded, but he ain't
- 20:26a bad kid at heart. Is anybody bad in your book? Mister Bramley,
- 20:30whoever killed Elan Bates is watch step now? It's pretty doc back here.
- 20:34Yeah, I hope nobody has dug a hole here. Somepoace't likely now.
- 20:41I think the door is here, to the corner somewhere. Try to
- 20:44collect rightly, it's been a walk. You are right, Bruce, machines
- 20:51are now who in the sam Hill put all these boxes in front of the
- 20:55door. You stop right there, don't you move. He's got a rifle
- 20:57on us, all right, don't try nothing, dollar Like I told you,
- 21:00he's a dead shot. What's you whispering about there? Never you mind,
- 21:03Brody? You just put that gun down. I'll put it up.
- 21:07Don't you move now, let me get a class flight. It's Jed Brody,
- 21:10Constable Bramler, mister dollars with me. You stand still, like,
- 21:14get a light on you, then we'll see. I got it? Yes,
- 21:18did you recognize my boys? Never can't tell people might try something funny,
- 21:25try to break in something like that. Well, now that you know
- 21:27who we are, Brody, how about having a look at that gun you're
- 21:30holding on us? Well, I don't know. I guess if Constable Bramler
- 21:37says it's all right, it's all right, Grody, let him look at
- 21:40the gun. All right? Then here? Thanks mind holding the flashlight here?
- 21:49All right? Well, at least this isn't the one. It's twenty
- 21:56two. What are you fellas up to anyhow? Grody? What did you
- 22:00do that squirrel rifle you took from over Ben Bates's mantle? Well, Brody,
- 22:07I don't know what you're talking about you. Don't anybody says I've done
- 22:11that is lying? Ah Nah, don't get excited, Brody. We're want
- 22:14to wake up this whole town while we're walking across there. Where are we
- 22:17going? Constable over to the city jail? Quiet night? Not even the
- 22:29mocking bird singing out there. I wish that bird back in the cell would
- 22:33do some singing. Eh. He will always gets to bother him after he's
- 22:37in for a while. Thirty minutes hasn't bothered that much. He'll talk pretty
- 22:41soon, provided, of course, he has anything to talk about. I
- 22:47know that boy inside out, whether he stole that gun or not, he's
- 22:51lying about something. Eh. And we're gonna have to buy some oil one
- 22:56of these days, Doug Guncherry even gets on my nerves. I don't think
- 23:00anything gets on your nerves, mister Brownwin. The country up here has that
- 23:04kind of influence. I reckon these hills were older than man. They've seen
- 23:08a lot of things come and go. It's the kind of quiet person down
- 23:12if he stays here long enough. I doubt if this place is as quiet
- 23:17as it looks. I think there are things under the surface, like flint
- 23:19rocks and the field, and sooner or later they worked at the top and
- 23:22break off a plowshare. Yeah, it happened sometimes. Isn't there anyone you
- 23:27can think of who might have hated her even slightly? If Dollar, If
- 23:32I was to say honestly who I thought was the best like person in this
- 23:36whole township, I would have to name my niece Ellen Bates. And yet
- 23:41somebody put a bullet through her head and fired at her from the brush without
- 23:44even any warning. It's a fact there had to be a lot of hate
- 23:48behind that bullet, or a lot of greed. Same old tune. Eh
- 23:53Ben killed her for the insurance. I keep coming back to it because nothing
- 23:57else makes any sense, and neither does that. He owed that mortgage to
- 24:02Martin Preeney and the farm wasn't worth it. Martin wasn't pressing him for it.
- 24:04Maybe not, But if I tagged Ben Wright, he still felt the
- 24:07obligation, the sense of pressure. Ten thousand dollars must to look pretty big
- 24:11to him, not that big, mister Dollar. Then there's Millie Wells,
- 24:15pretty as a picture and in love with him, and an invalid wife at
- 24:18home. Well, my pigeons starting to chirp and let him think I ain't
- 24:25coming right way, he gets more anxious, saves time in the long run,
- 24:29A matter of understanding his nature, something like that. What about your
- 24:33nature? Mister Browner? Always was kind to my mother and your niece too,
- 24:40meaning how did you and Ellen get along? Fine? Just fine?
- 24:47I reckon? He must be ready to talk. It's true I was lying
- 24:56about it. I stole that gun, all right, But I ain't got
- 24:59it now, is it, Brody? I sold it to mister Martin Preeney
- 25:03to hang in his house. Martin Preeney, Yeah, I can't figure Martin
- 25:06paying money for something to hang in the house. He's too tight fisted.
- 25:08He give me four dollars for it about three weeks ago. That would be
- 25:12after Ellen was shot and you took the gun the week before the murderer.
- 25:17Are you saying that I shot Miss Baits? That gun was in your possession
- 25:19at the time, Brody. Oh, she was the best friend I ever
- 25:22had, the only one in this town that ever treated me like somebody.
- 25:27I wouldn't ever done nothing to hurt Miss Babs. You had that gun,
- 25:30the same kind she was killed with. Oh, that gun ain't been fired
- 25:33in years? What why, mister bas never did use it when it's even
- 25:37got rested inside the barrel, Brody, for your sake, I hope it
- 25:42has. Now Here's our star are to tell you about the final intriguing episode
- 26:02of this week's story Tomorrow one domino tips, the whole stack tumbles, and
- 26:07the last man falls with a crash. Join us, won't you? Yours
- 26:11Truly? Johnny Dall. Yours Truly Johnny Dollar starring Bob Bailey is transcribed in
- 26:29Hollywood, written by Les Crutchfield. It is produced and directed by Jack Johnstone.
- 26:33Be sure to join us tomorrow night at the same time in station for
- 26:37the next exciting episode of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar, Roy Rowan speaking welcome back.
- 28:19Well. Johnny does scene in this episode to be making grasping a bit
- 28:26more in allegations than we have seen in previous serials, and it's something to
- 28:33note some listener. One listener suggested that this could come off as arrogance.
- 28:40I don't see in this particular case any sort of arrogance. It's more a
- 28:42lot of frustration. This actually is one of my favorite Johnny Dollar cereals,
- 28:49just because of the contrast between Johnny Dollar and the town a Constable and their
- 28:56approach. And I think the Constables area is just absolutely frustrating for Johnny because
- 29:03basically it's dealing with someone who knows everybody and can't imagine any of them committing
- 29:10the crime and constantly says, you know, it just wasn't in their nature,
- 29:15which isn't something you can quantify, and which isn't something that Johnny can
- 29:19tell his insurance company. And I think definitely it's a level of frustration because
- 29:25it's such a foreign approach. And I have to say that that, to
- 29:30me is what really led to him even asking the question, did how was
- 29:42your relationship with your niece? Is there some sort of angle I can hang
- 29:48on to here? Obviously, it's just such a contrasting style, And I
- 29:55have to say I remember the end, and I think it's just a it's
- 29:59a perfect and I think we will definitely you'll want to be here on Friday
- 30:06to hear how this all turns out, because I just absolutely love the end
- 30:10of this serial. Well that we have actually one comment and then we'll be
