• 0:07
Speaker 1: Welcome to Become who you Are.
• 0:08
Speaker 1: Podcast production of the John Paul 2 Renewal Center.
• 0:11
Speaker 1: I'm Jack Rickards, your host.
• 0:12
Speaker 1: Hey, thanks for joining me today.
• 0:14
Speaker 1: St Catherine of Siena said that if you become who you are, that you would literally set the world on fire.
• 0:19
Speaker 1: And St Athanasius, an early church father and the doctor of the church, said the son of God became man so that we might become God.
• 0:26
Speaker 1: You know I make a while to guess at this, but I bet you, most of us, are a bit disconnected from this divine life that these saints are pointing us to.
• 0:33
Speaker 1: Yet St John Paul II said there's an echo of this story, of this divine life that we're created for, inscribed in each human heart, in your human heart, and if you put on a proper lens, if I put on a proper lens, we can get in touch with this echo within us in such a way that we have that aha moment.
• 0:50
Speaker 1: See, that's the genus of St John Paul II's theology the body.
• 0:53
Speaker 1: It connects our lived experience of life to the gospel in such a way that our life takes on a whole new meaning and helps us answer those big questions that our whole culture is so confused about today.
• 1:05
  Speaker 1: Who am I?
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: What's my purpose?
• 1:07
Speaker 1: Why were we created male and female?
• 1:09
Speaker 1: How do I find happiness here on earth?
• 1:11
Speaker 1: How do I find love that satisfies forever?
• 1:13
Speaker 1: Hey, glad you're with me.
• 1:15
Speaker 1: I'll be right back for today's episode.
• 1:17
Speaker 1: I am back with Linda Piper.
• 1:30
Speaker 1: Linda, how are you?
• 1:32
  Speaker 2: I'm great.
• 1:32
Speaker 2: How are you, Jack?
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: Good, good, good.
• 1:34
Speaker 1: So we were just Linda and I just offline were discussing stolen innocence.
• 1:40
Speaker 1: It's a presentation that that we do and in this time last week we did one in a public library, so local public library not too far from where I live.
• 1:52
Speaker 1: It was a standing room only educating parents and grandparents about what's happening in the school systems, especially the.
• 2:00
Speaker 1: You know the pornography that they're showing kids, blatant pornography to young kids, really sexualizing them and at the end of the day, robbing them of their innocence, and I'll bring up a couple samples of that.
• 2:14
Speaker 1: But the new sex ed standards are really a really disgusting In fact.
• 2:20
Speaker 1: Let me just out of the national sex ed standards.
• 2:24
Speaker 1: So they're pushing this hard.
• 2:25
Speaker 1: In Illinois we were the first.
• 2:27
Speaker 1: You know we get to be the first at some of these things and our, our great governor will, will twist and distort children in any way you can.
• 2:36
Speaker 1: We've become the one of the abortion capitals of the world now.
• 2:40
Speaker 1: So we're competing with New York and California on that.
• 2:43
Speaker 1: But if a child makes it out of the womb, god bless them.
• 2:46
Speaker 1: He has now pushed us into the national sex ed standards.
• 2:51
Speaker 1: Now the schools can, districts can opt out and and, and the majority of them have in Illinois, but not all of them and certainly they're coming back and pushing it again and it doesn't matter whether we opt it out or not, it's already in the schools.
• 3:05
Speaker 1: It comes in through through other venues, including DEI and SEL and all kinds of things.
• 3:12
Speaker 1: So I speak about that a lot.
• 3:14
Speaker 1: So if anybody's interested, go back to some of my recent podcasts.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: But here it is, in kindergarten now.
• 3:23
Speaker 1: So kindergarten kids here's one of the standards.
• 3:25
Speaker 1: So they list them all in here.
• 3:26
Speaker 1: Anybody could pull this up.
• 3:27
Speaker 1: Just go to FOSC with the future of sex education.
• 3:31
Speaker 1: Pull up national sex ed standards.
• 3:34
Speaker 1: Make sure you get the second edition, because the second edition is what they're pushing now, because the first edition was so disgusting they had to tone it down a bit, but anyways, they show by grade level how to do it, what to teach it.
• 3:47
Speaker 1: So, anyways, when you're just a young kid coming in, you should be skipping rope and and and playing football and running around in in the playground and instead we're asked to identify different kinds of families.
• 4:02
Speaker 1: There's nuclear families, there's cohabiting families, there's foster families, there's same, just gender families, etc.
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: Etc.
• 4:12
Speaker 1: And and we're defining gender identities and and what defining gender identities to, to young children, and identify credible sources of information about pure puberty and personal hygiene and and if you, if you don't have someone trusted in your home, you can come to the teachers and to the and to the counselors there.
• 4:36
Speaker 1: Soon, in third grade, you're going to distinguish between sex assigned at birth and gender identity, to find and explain differences between cisgender, transgender gender, non-binary.
• 4:50
Speaker 1: Now, this is third and fourth grade.
• 4:51
Speaker 1: So again, what you do, and then, by the time you get into sixth and eighth grade, you learn that that sex is not just vaginal and and a penis is what they what they say in here, but we need to talk about oral and anal sex so that everybody understands this.
• 5:08
Speaker 1: And then how to be safe, how to have safe sex, and they teach you how to put on condoms and and so this is all when they're just kids.
• 5:16
Speaker 1: So what we're going to be talking about today.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: This is general audience number 62, the john paul presented on on april 29, 1981 and in this is a series, a short four-part series, that he did.
• 5:30
Speaker 1: This is the third part of that four-part series called the ethos of the body and art and media.
• 5:36
Speaker 1: What happened and john paul warned about this when you start to let the evils in a person's heart right, this twisted and distorted ways of looking at the human body, seeing the body not as someone to love, not as someone to take care of, but as seeing them as objects to use, you can twist and distort this in in many, many ways, and and we certainly have.
• 6:02
Speaker 1: So I think, uh, uh, maybe some of us are surprised by how fast the cultures fallen, since john paul has given this in 81.
• 6:11
Speaker 1: But john paul wouldn't have been surprised.
• 6:14
Speaker 1: He saw this coming many, many years ago and he's spoken about this.
• 6:18
Speaker 1: So, just to open this up a little bit, we have devoted john paul said a series of reflections to the meaning of the words of christ spoke on the sermon of the mount, which he exhorts his listeners to, purification of heart, and caused their attention to this concupacent look.
• 6:34
Speaker 1: We cannot forget these words of christ when we consider the issue of the vast sphere of art and culture, above all when it has the character of a visual, visual image or show, and likewise when one is dealing with the spheres of mass culture, which is so significant in our times because it's connected with any search.
• 6:55
Speaker 1: To talk about technology, now, the way technology can bring a different way of looking at the body to to mass people.
• 7:03
Speaker 1: He gets into pornography, how the body is portrayed, and and also in literature.
• 7:07
Speaker 1: Well, all of these things I brought up on tuesday, because not only are we looking at the body in this, in this degraded way, but we're bringing it right into the children, and john paul specifically points out literature and some of the books that we read from, and I showed short video clips of people in actual school board meetings reading from these books.
• 7:29
Speaker 1: They were so disgusting, uh, describing sex and and, um, these books are are written for 10 years old and up.
• 7:39
Speaker 1: Really disgusting stuff where the school board tries to shut them down because they say, well, you can't speak like that at a school board meeting and so, anyways, linda, I uh, that's a lot right there, I know, but but again, what we're getting to is the difference of how you look at a body.
• 7:56
Speaker 1: These are very, very wide gaps.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: Now we're between michael angelo's sistine chapel, the beauty of the erotic love poetry in the bible itself, with the song of songs very sensual, very erotic and and yet so beautiful yet that you are pulled upward into the beauty of another person.
• 8:16
Speaker 1: And you see, the beauty of a person is one to give your life to and to love, and and and.
• 8:21
Speaker 1: Is really this sign of of your body expressing authentic love and this gift to one another, versus the opposite of that, using, abusing, taking, distorting, and, um, and I and I wonder, linda, maybe this is, this is the question I'll pose to you have we come so far now in this crazy culture that people the average person that I meet has normalized the fall, that we won't even see this?
• 8:49
Speaker 1: As we speak about this, people would say, well, what's wrong with that?
• 8:53
Speaker 1: What's wrong with drags queen story hour?
• 8:56
Speaker 1: I mean, certainly you know we're out protesting against libraries, public libraries, um presenting drags going drag queen story hour, but we wouldn't have to have nobody brought their kids there but, they're, but they do bring their kids there and the pride parades and and all of these things they're, they're, they're, they're, they're.
• 9:19
Speaker 1: You know, people come out in droves to see these things so and expose their children to all of this.
• 9:24
Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, wow, yes.
• 9:27
Speaker 2: So many thoughts running through my head on this.
• 9:31
Speaker 2: I think there is a substantial number of people who have normalized the fall because, um, maybe they're looking at their own heart and saying you know what it's, is it really that bad?
• 9:47
Speaker 2: You know all the rules and things that I learned earlier and in a sense, I think um many people have I don't know, maybe subconsciously covered up what the Pope talks about several times in this series of four with that idea of shame or personal sensibilities.
• 10:12
Speaker 2: And he says right there in the first paragraph that the pornography and the acceptance of it can only take place when the limit of shame or personal sensibilities is overstepped.
• 10:25
Speaker 2: And so what he's saying is that, you know, we have to kind of work at that numbing, if you will, of what I think every single one of us has somewhere deep inside is that understanding of our own dignity as a person.
• 10:44
Speaker 2: And when you're in description, you use the word person a lot, and I think sometimes it just is such a common term that we don't really reflect on what do we mean by a person, and is it just that there's another human being, body, or does it go deeper with that?
• 11:01
Speaker 2: And the Pope has worked very hard at our understanding that it's much, much deeper than just, you know, the physicality that we see, and it goes right to the essence of our soul and, as we know, we're body and soul composites.
• 11:18
Speaker 2: So there's something to, I think, thinking about what is this idea of person?
• 11:25
Speaker 2: And the idea then that you mentioned that it's all about person to person, being a gift for another person and seeing that other person, body and soul, well beyond just the body, and then looking at that person as someone who's useful to me and in this case useful in a sexual way, you know, for my own pleasure at which point then we have objectified the person totally and the element of person kind of goes away.
• 12:00
Speaker 2: So when we take the average person and normalizing the fall I think that has happened a lot, because it's just too overwhelming sometimes to think about how far away we've gotten from where we should be, and so, as I don't know, maybe a defense mechanism we might say, okay, well, it's not really that bad, it's kind of normal, and we just let it go.
• 12:28
Speaker 2: When someone now steps in and says no, wait a minute, here, let's look at the fact that the fall has been normalized when it should not be that, beneath that, we still have maintained that deeper understanding, or we need to maintain that deeper understanding of who we are made in God's image and the fact that from being made in his image is where we draw our whole source of dignity.
• 12:58
Speaker 2: And I keep going back to that concept of dignity because for me it seems like it's a key of how, as a culture, we've lost that idea.
• 13:09
Speaker 1: Christ is appealing to the human heart.
• 13:11
Speaker 1: He says you were created in the image and likeness of God.
• 13:15
Speaker 1: If you don't understand that and you lose your human dignity right away.
• 13:21
Speaker 1: In the US Declaration of Independence that we have inalienable rights.
• 13:25
Speaker 1: We have rights that are not given to us by other men but by God, and once you take that out, then everything can get twisted and distorted.
• 13:34
Speaker 1: Right, we build the tower of Babel, we build the city of man, and that's what we've done and that's been going on for a long time.
• 13:41
Speaker 1: What we have to realize is that since the fall, this world is ruled really by Satan, right, and it's the principalities and powers of the world.
• 13:53
Speaker 1: I don't think we really understand that, that we didn't come into a neutral world.
• 13:57
Speaker 1: So what John Paul and, of course, following Christ, is that it's not neutral.
• 14:03
Speaker 1: So all that numbing that you're talking about, all of that is true, but it doesn't leave you neutral.
• 14:11
Speaker 1: You're not in a neutral space when you expose your children and you allow yourself to sit in that proverbial pot with the frog as the toxic stew is boiling all around you.
• 14:21
Speaker 1: It's going to get worse.
• 14:22
Speaker 1: That train wreck is here and that train will come for you.
• 14:26
Speaker 1: That's what we don't always get right away.
• 14:29
Speaker 1: And so when Jesus said in Matthew 5, you have heard it said that you should not commit adultery, I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
• 14:41
Speaker 1: So what happens when the heart of human beings comes twisted and distorted?
• 14:45
Speaker 1: You lose your human dignity.
• 14:47
Speaker 1: You no longer have.
• 14:48
Speaker 1: And then you look at the next person and it doesn't matter.
• 14:52
Speaker 1: You will indoctrinate kids.
• 14:54
Speaker 1: You will actually rob young children of their innocence and you'll actually bring your own kids to drag queen story hours.
• 15:03
Speaker 1: You'll be looking at porn while your kids are in the other room and then you walk into that space and how do you look at your wife?
• 15:12
Speaker 1: How do you look at your family?
• 15:13
Speaker 1: You know it's really something.
• 15:15
Speaker 1: And so I started out with the library.
• 15:18
Speaker 1: Let me just say this that this is the culture.
• 15:22
Speaker 1: John Paul is saying when the human heart gets twisted and distorted, the artists, the musicians, all the people that bring and build up culture are twisted and distorted.
• 15:33
Speaker 1: So what have we done?
• 15:35
Speaker 1: We bring this pornography, this idea of using and abusing, not only into our culture at large, but into our schools.
• 15:43
Speaker 1: We're educating our children on this.
• 15:47
Speaker 1: We're teaching them vices versus virtue.
• 15:50
Speaker 1: We've twisted it totally around and of course Satan is going to do that.
• 15:55
Speaker 1: Satan wants to destroy children and so after we gave a talk on Tuesday in this local library, we got a letter the next day already from the school board telling us that we weren't welcome back.
• 16:09
Speaker 1: And it's amazing how the culture not only has accepted this, but you see the evil behind it that they're not going to allow you even to stand for the innocence of children, not even in a public square.
• 16:21
Speaker 1: They want to take you out of that.
• 16:23
Speaker 1: So how we handle that we'll have to see.
• 16:24
Speaker 1: I'll keep you guys posted on that.
• 16:27
  Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
• 16:28
Speaker 2: Last week we brought up something that the Pope mentioned.
• 16:35
Speaker 2: It was in 61, paragraph 3, where he gives an example here of an extreme circumstance in concentration camps or he says, other places of extermination, where the violation of bodily shame is a method used consciously to destroy personal sensibility and the sense of human dignity.
• 17:01
Speaker 2: And that just jumped out at me saying this is really what's going on.
• 17:08
Speaker 2: We're not in concentration camps per se, but there is a conscious effort here to destroy in our children that natural sense, sensibility and that sense of human dignity.
• 17:24
Speaker 2: At one point, kind of as a sidebar here I think that it's not as accurate to say that we've lost our dignity as it might be to say that we've lost our sense or awareness or understanding of our dignity, because deep down we as humans never lose our dignity.
• 17:46
  Speaker 2: That's immutable.
• 17:48
  Speaker 2: It's God given.
• 17:49
Speaker 2: We have that dignity being made in his image.
• 17:53
Speaker 2: But we certainly have lost the sense of it and the awareness of it.
• 17:57
Speaker 2: And that's what we are trying to do is help people understand.
• 18:02
Speaker 2: We've lost that awareness and we need to reclaim that Now.
• 18:08
Speaker 2: When it comes to this idea of the conscious destroying of that sense of dignity, my mind immediately jumped to an example of the transgender issue, with women's sports, for example, so that transgender females are allowed not only to play the sport but to be in the locker rooms and so forth.
• 18:33
Speaker 2: And we have young women who are actively fighting that and who feel attacked, so to speak.
• 18:43
Speaker 2: What they're really feeling is that my sense of my own dignity is being attacked by the presence of this male in the locker room.
• 18:52
Speaker 2: And I listened to some of the arguments and I'm not sure that anyone has recognized yet that this is really a conscious effort to go after that sense of dignity and that sensibility that the girls naturally have, that this is inappropriate.
• 19:12
Speaker 2: And so it seems to me, like also with the books in the library that you're talking about all of that is a conscious effort by those who say the books are all right to help children lose that natural sensibilities that they have and their dignity, so that then it will look like everything's normal, that Everything in the fall is normalized.
• 19:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, they normalize the fall, they.
• 19:43
Speaker 1: They've gone so far that there's one technique that they're using now is that they will, they will call out body parts.
• 19:52
Speaker 1: So in a class look at the school They'll get the class together and they'll say you know, let's start calling on our body parts, and at first everybody's nervous to do that your sexual body parts, right.
• 20:04
Speaker 1: And Then the teacher will start and then the kids will start and then they think it's a game and They'll say penis, and then they'll say vagina and they'll say breasts, and pretty soon you know it's they start to kind of giggle a little bit and start to let, and then they get, they can.
• 20:22
Speaker 1: The teacher will get them to be more vulgar about this stuff, right and but, and then how it's another name for but right and anus, and this, and so pretty soon you, you and Necetize them.
• 20:35
Speaker 1: You know to the point where they're numb and and so you're right on.
• 20:39
Speaker 1: You know, so we're numbing that, the human heart.
• 20:41
Speaker 1: And the same thing with girls.
• 20:42
Speaker 1: You know we, when we take, when we allow men into a girl's dressing room, you know we're doing the same thing as they did in the concentration camps.
• 20:51
Speaker 1: You know you're trying to.
• 20:52
Speaker 1: You know we're trying to get them to the point where we're.
• 20:56
Speaker 1: You know they're shame and they, you know you push them down and you know, almost to the point where you make them feel inhuman and and when you fight against this stuff, it's amazing how the girl just Riley, gains the swimmer I think her last name is gains and and you know, though, the attack that she went under when she was when you know, by the trans community, when she was literally just standing up and saying that this should be For women, right?
• 21:24
Speaker 1: I just saw a report just now came through.
• 21:27
Speaker 1: Canada puts biological male on national women's cricket team.
• 21:32
Speaker 1: So, you know, next year's World Cup is gonna have a man on the on the women's team.
• 21:37
  Speaker 1: It's so insane.
• 21:39
  Speaker 1: Here's another one.
• 21:41
Speaker 1: You can't make this stuff up, linda.
• 21:44
Speaker 1: It said there's an article from the stream which is really, really good the streamorg if anybody's interested.
• 21:50
Speaker 1: They do a great job with this.
• 21:52
Speaker 1: And they said we hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend While normal folks were enjoying food, the burgers on the grill and make an enjoyable weekend.
• 22:03
Speaker 1: The transgender idea, the ideologues that not stop their war on reality and this is exactly this will not stop.
• 22:10
Speaker 1: This is not gonna stop.
• 22:11
Speaker 1: There's only one way to stop this is if everybody stands up.
• 22:15
Speaker 1: But again, I don't know if there's enough people that'll stand up anymore.
• 22:18
Speaker 1: And but anyway, see, goes on to say Google goes full mental on men's administration.
• 22:25
Speaker 1: Who knew that God, the Bible and all of human history across the globe had it wrong and Google had it right?
• 22:31
Speaker 1: Search Google for can men menstruate?
• 22:34
Speaker 1: And you get the astounding news that having a period is not a feminist thing and people of all genders menstruate.
• 22:41
Speaker 1: So if menstruation isn't a feminine thing, nothing is a feminine thing and the notion of feminine, the reality of female, means nothing.
• 22:51
Speaker 1: But maybe that's their point.
• 22:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, I would agree.
• 22:56
Speaker 2: You know, the folk actually addresses this in a slightly different way in the audience that we're in right now, in paragraph 2 towards the end, here in audience 62, where he talks about this idea of naturalism, where there is an appeal to the right of everything that is human, essentially saying, okay, if we're gonna use all the right terms for all our body parts, that's just natural and realistic, and what's wrong with that?
• 23:31
Speaker 2: And so, in reference here to works of art, be it, you know, the statues or artistic productions in any way, he says that these people are claiming the realistic truth about man.
• 23:51
Speaker 2: And here's the key point in this paragraph.
• 23:53
Speaker 2: He says it is precisely this truth about man, the whole truth about man, that requires us to consider the sense of the intimacy of the body and the consistency of the gift connected with masculinity and Femininity of the body, which reflects the mystery of man proper to the inner structure of the person.
• 24:17
Speaker 2: Okay, so he does say things very formally, but what he's saying, the whole truth, has got to take us down to that understanding of that intimacy of male and female.
• 24:32
Speaker 2: And what I see they're doing in the classroom.
• 24:35
  Speaker 2: This, you know.
• 24:37
Speaker 2: Like you said, first there's the giggles, and it's a game, and they're just taking away Every element of that intimacy of male and female.
• 24:47
Speaker 2: So, yes, the desensitization Going all the way to numbness.
• 24:52
Speaker 2: And then what do you have left, when you have?
• 24:57
Speaker 2: I'm thinking in terms of my grandkids becoming teenagers and in the normal sense of how a young boy and a young girl begin to develop a relationship, that it they're clearly aware of their masculinity and their femininity.
• 25:16
Speaker 2: What will happen to these children who have become so desensitized to that element?
• 25:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, they began just to use one another.
• 25:24
  Speaker 1: I mean, that's what.
• 25:25
Speaker 1: That's what this pornographic culture has done too.
• 25:27
Speaker 1: And so this is the distinction, isn't it?
• 25:30
  Speaker 1: You know where?
• 25:31
Speaker 1: You know when you get, when you use words, like you said, for natural, I, like you, know there's different ways to define that term, but in essence, we're saying that we're just biology, you know biology, we're just animals, we're just like a dog in heat and Really we should be able and they're very serious about this we should just be able to express ourselves.
• 25:50
Speaker 1: And and so they say children, that the purity is the false value, and even children Should be able to sexualize and have sexual pleasure.
• 25:59
Speaker 1: Well, who's really doing this, linda?
• 26:00
Speaker 1: I mean, these are adults that want to use and abuse children and or Twisted, distort Really the culture, the human heart, and and then it becomes demonic, it becomes caulting, you know, it really becomes attack on childhood innocence.
• 26:16
Speaker 1: That's why, when I'm speaking, I like to keep it to children, because when you see the devastation that they do, look at again.
• 26:22
Speaker 1: We're in the belly of the beast.
• 26:24
Speaker 1: Here in Illinois, we want to be able to kill children, to murder children at full term.
• 26:30
Speaker 1: I mean, literally have a body, take it out of a woman, it could still be breathing, and they actually like if the heart is still beating, because they want to use that heart and those organs and Sell those right and and so it's it's, and we're saying it's okay to do that.
• 26:46
Speaker 1: You know it's, it's astounding what we've done.
• 26:50
Speaker 1: So if we don't snap out of this, it's, it's, it is something when you were talking about those young people who have this great desire to love and be loved.
• 26:59
Speaker 1: The difference between us and the animal is what we have intellect, we have reason.
• 27:05
Speaker 1: Again, if you read Genesis 2, it's so important.
• 27:08
Speaker 1: You know God took that, by biology, that Nate nature and he blew into it.
• 27:14
Speaker 1: And we know we're different than nature.
• 27:16
Speaker 1: If we don't realize we have a soul, we don't realize we have reason and intellect and we have free will to choose.
• 27:22
Speaker 1: Well, what are we choosing?
• 27:23
  Speaker 1: We're choosing that.
• 27:25
  Speaker 1: You know that.
• 27:26
Speaker 1: That the reality of the truth, right, so reason looks for the truth.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: What is the truth of mankind?
• 27:32
Speaker 1: We have a dignity that, you know, surpasses the animal kingdom.
• 27:38
Speaker 1: Right, and at the end of the day, what is that truth?
• 27:41
Speaker 1: And what we find out from revelation is that we've been Created in a mogul day and the actual image and likeness of God.
• 27:48
Speaker 1: Here's the thing, linda.
• 27:50
Speaker 1: We are destined for eternal life.
• 27:52
Speaker 1: This is the question right now.
• 27:54
Speaker 1: Those who fall short, you know I, you know this is a battle for the human soul right now.
• 28:00
Speaker 1: And John Paul says when you look at a person, you could say, yeah, well, it's just natural, like you said, to use body parts right To, and we all have body parts.
• 28:08
Speaker 1: There's nothing to be ashamed of.
• 28:09
Speaker 1: And and and that's true, we do have sexual body parts and they are nothing to be ashamed of.
• 28:16
Speaker 1: It's how we use them and abuse them that bring shame.
• 28:19
  Speaker 1: We bring shame.
• 28:20
Speaker 1: John Paul would say.
• 28:21
Speaker 1: The problem with pornography is is is that it fails to portray everything that is Human.
• 28:27
Speaker 1: So, when you say it's natural to say penis or vagina or breast, well, yeah, okay, that's fine, but it fails to see the person, well, who is inside that person that your body is making visible.
• 28:41
Speaker 1: Well, you know, we're embodied souls, our bodies are expressing the inner life of the human being.
• 28:48
Speaker 1: And when that gets pulverized look it, you know I'll stop at this point right now is that we're seeing the mental illness of these kids.
• 28:57
Speaker 1: See, there's real repercussions for all this Anxiety, depression, suicide, all this mental confusion.
• 29:07
Speaker 1: You know this is not going to end well and it's not ending well now.
• 29:12
Speaker 1: Today's reading was from one Thessalonians and same process.
• 29:17
Speaker 1: But as to the times and the seasons, brother and you have no need to have anything written to you, for you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
• 29:27
Speaker 1: When people say there is peace and security now today, right, linda, comfort, I want my comfort, my little vacations.
• 29:35
  Speaker 1: Then he says.
• 29:36
Speaker 1: Then, suddenly, destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a woman with a child, and there will be no escape.
• 29:43
Speaker 1: But you are not in darkness, brothers and sisters, for that day to surprise you like a thief, for you are all sons of light and sons of the day.
• 29:54
Speaker 1: We are not of the night or of darkness, for God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that, whether we wake or sleep, we might live with him.
• 30:08
Speaker 1: Therefore, encourage one another, build one another up, just as you are doing, and that's what we're doing here, linda, encouraging and building one another up there.
• 30:16
Speaker 1: You don't have to live like this.
• 30:19
Speaker 1: You know, you mentioned that, uh, uh, you know that I might have said you know that you're human, dignity has been taken from you, and you said, no, there's a seed of that human dignity left, and each one of us do have that, and to redeem that.
• 30:32
Speaker 1: But we have to say yes, that free will that I just mentioned, that God gave us.
• 30:37
Speaker 1: That free will is to say no or yes to that collective act that Jesus did on the cross, which is the redemption of our bodies.
• 30:47
Speaker 1: Right, he redeemed all of us, but salvation is individual.
• 30:51
Speaker 1: So we have to say yes, we all stand at that tree, don't we?
• 30:56
Speaker 1: And we all, you know, we're standing right there and we're being tempted.
• 31:00
Speaker 1: And what do we say?
• 31:01
Speaker 1: Right, do we walk away and reject God, or or, uh, or, or not.
• 31:07
Speaker 2: So that's our question Everybody gets to do that.
• 31:11
Speaker 2: Yes, it does come down to that, jack.
• 31:14
Speaker 2: No, no doubt about it.
• 31:15
Speaker 2: But, um, what a great reading to apply right To our topic today.
• 31:21
Speaker 2: And I would see that, um, if you take the word darkness that St Paul uses and say, well, today, what is that darkness?
• 31:30
Speaker 2: It's thinking that we're more like animals, closer to animals than we are to God.
• 31:35
Speaker 2: It's having our passions rule over our intellect and our will.
• 31:41
Speaker 2: It's totally forgetting that we are destined for eternity, that it doesn't just end here, and so all of those elements that you just mentioned make a very good description of darkness.
• 31:54
Speaker 2: And so one who might be saying, well, where am I what?
• 31:58
Speaker 2: What choice am I making here?
• 32:00
Speaker 2: Ask yourself are you living in that darkness or are you living in the light?
• 32:05
Speaker 2: And of course, that it is the light where we're going to see the true, um element of who we are as persons made in God's image, and what that then implies is we have to make that decision to accept the cross, jack.
• 32:23
Speaker 2: You know we can't.
• 32:24
Speaker 2: This is not going to be easy, and, given the culture that we're in, it's just so vital for us to understand that there is going to be persecution, um, that it's not going to come easy to step out of that darkness and into the light, as we hope everyone is working on doing.
• 32:43
Speaker 2: But with the grace of God and with the acceptance of that redemption, it certainly is possible, and the Pope talks about it even in this lesson.
• 32:53
Speaker 2: We can do it, but we have to make that decision.
• 32:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, and as you look up at that cross again, that we have to carry, like you said, with Christ.
• 33:02
Speaker 1: You know, don't forget that right next door to that is the empty tomb, and so if you lose sight of the empty tomb that we are risen, he will.
• 33:09
Speaker 1: He will, you know, he wants you to die with him in this life, to rise again, and that's this purity of heart.
• 33:15
Speaker 1: The second reading today, this is just today's mass.
• 33:17
Speaker 1: You know, the readings are powerful and they and they bring, you know, when you go to mass, it's, it's incredible.
• 33:23
Speaker 1: First we're going to read these readings and then we take them into the mass, and then we take them into our heart, and then we receive Christ.
• 33:32
Speaker 1: We receive that, that actual act, that Golgotha right, that act where Jesus climbed upon the marriage bed of the cross to pour his life out to us.
• 33:42
Speaker 1: And then we receive this.
• 33:43
  Speaker 1: Why?
• 33:44
Speaker 1: So we have real power, and real power to do what To go?
• 33:47
Speaker 1: Look at the next person, linda.
• 33:48
Speaker 1: We walk out the door and see their human dignity and see their eternal life and to stand, especially for those little ones.
• 33:55
Speaker 1: If we don't have the guts to stand for those little ones, the most vulnerable and innocent among us, then then what good are we really?
• 34:04
  Speaker 1: I mean, it's amazing, right.
• 34:05
Speaker 1: And so so here's Luke, chapter four.
• 34:08
Speaker 1: And Jesus went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and he was teaching them on the Sabbath.
• 34:13
Speaker 1: Now, now listen to the battle.
• 34:15
Speaker 1: This is the battle we're in, because if we forget this, if we forget the battle that we're in, then all of this just becomes words.
• 34:22
Speaker 1: We, you know, we, were born in a battle.
• 34:25
Speaker 1: We didn't create the universe, we didn't write the larger story, but we came into a story, and the story is for the battle of the human soul.
• 34:33
Speaker 1: And he was taught and he was teaching.
• 34:36
Speaker 1: Jesus was on the Sabbath and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
• 34:41
Speaker 1: So here's Jesus takes on a human body, comes into a nuclear family, right, and then walks out and does what he goes to fight this battle.
• 34:51
Speaker 1: And so here it is.
• 34:51
Speaker 1: And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of, of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice Ah, what have you do with us, jesus of Nazareth?
• 35:03
Speaker 1: Have you come to destroy us?
• 35:05
Speaker 1: I know who you are, you're the Holy One of God.
• 35:08
Speaker 1: But Jesus rebuked him saying be silent and come out of him.
• 35:13
Speaker 1: And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst.
• 35:15
Speaker 1: He came out of him, having done him no harm, and they were all amazed and said to one another what is this word for?
• 35:23
Speaker 1: With authority and power he commands the unclean spirits and they come out of him and reports of him went out into every place in the surrounding region.
• 35:32
  Speaker 1: That's the battle.
• 35:34
Speaker 1: Linda, and, and you know, what we Jesus did, many extra systems he came to exercise.
• 35:40
Speaker 1: You know the demons really in the evil and in the evil that's in our own hearts.
• 35:45
Speaker 1: And I'll tell you what you know when I'm, when, when I see some of the people they come in contact with that are that are you know.
• 35:53
Speaker 1: You know going again.
• 35:54
Speaker 1: You know to take the innocence from children all the way from murdering them in the womb and beyond and then, if they make it Past the womb, to render them sterile.
• 36:03
Speaker 1: That's what they're trying to do here, right attack their very Femininity, their masculinity, their way of becoming in union and communion with God.
• 36:11
Speaker 1: Once they put them on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, even before they'd second, before they surgically mutilate them, what happened?
• 36:19
Speaker 1: They're already chemically castrated.
• 36:21
Speaker 1: So what does that prevent them from doing from?
• 36:24
Speaker 2: bringing new life into.
• 36:26
  Speaker 1: Yeah, fertility.
• 36:28
  Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
• 36:30
Speaker 2: So clearly, the battle is there, we're in it, whether we want to be in it or not.
• 36:39
Speaker 2: I would make a special appeal to parents to find out Specifically what might be going on in the schools that their children might attend.
• 36:49
Speaker 2: As you said, many school districts have opted out of this Education sexual education but there's elements of it there and I think it'd be very important for each parent to ask Questions, you know, to find out.
• 37:09
Speaker 2: I think naturally, as a parent, I would have sat down with my children over the years and just talk to them, first to see what they're getting you know, what their understanding of this is, and Get a sense for how they might be getting information or misinformation and I don't want them to have you know.
• 37:29
Speaker 2: And then grandparents even, who might be listening, talk to your son or daughter and daughter-in-law, son-in-law and say you know what?
• 37:39
Speaker 2: What is their understanding of what the children might be getting exposed to?
• 37:43
Speaker 2: And that's a few little steps in fighting this battle.
• 37:47
Speaker 2: It has to be done that awareness.
• 37:50
Speaker 2: We have to walk out of that darkness into the light, so that awareness has to Be, you have to be proactive, guess, to go after the understanding of what's going on.
• 38:01
  Speaker 2: And you know.
• 38:02
Speaker 2: Part of it, too, is just praying for all of them and everyone who's actively in the battle, like yourself, who's trying to raise that level of awareness because we're in a critical state now.
• 38:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, and we do have.
• 38:18
Speaker 1: You know, there is a you know talk about parents rising up.
• 38:21
Speaker 1: I'm not, I don't have it back up on my screen right now, I just took, I just took it down.
• 38:26
Speaker 1: Oh, actually, you know, it just popped back up again that this might be something to read, you know, and Mexico is a very Just like we are becoming now, but they might even be ahead of us, the very Corrupt state right and maybe not, maybe not even more corrupt than we are now, and it's amazing how much corruption is right now and in our, in our own hearts and then, and in the state, meaning Meaning the government bodies and and also the education system, our cultural, our social media, everything.
• 38:59
Speaker 1: So, anyways, in Mexico, mexican parents burn textbooks and pushing gender ideology.
• 39:05
Speaker 1: In the Mexican state of Aquacali entes, in Chiapas, around 1200 Christian parents Gather to oppose new textbooks introduced by the Ministry of Public Education.
• 39:16
Speaker 1: They say the textbooks are rife with gender and sexual idea, Ideological content and protests.
• 39:23
Speaker 1: They sent the textbooks ablaze at the elementary school in Chiapas.
• 39:28
Speaker 1: Mexican news daily reported parents in the community piled up boxes of the new textbooks, doused them with fuel, set them on fire.
• 39:36
Speaker 1: Mexico's leftist president, lopez or Abrador, denies the books have a problem of sexual and gender Indoctrination.
• 39:45
Speaker 1: After all, he says they have been prepared, prepared by teachers and by experts.
• 39:51
  Speaker 1: I mean what?
• 39:52
Speaker 1: By teachers and by experts?
• 39:54
  Speaker 1: You know, I, it's I.
• 39:56
Speaker 1: Just, we got to laugh at that, right, these teachers and these experts are.
• 39:59
Speaker 1: You know, I can't throw all teachers under the bus, of course, right.
• 40:03
Speaker 1: But but, many of them are pushing these right into the schools.
• 40:07
Speaker 1: And these experts, oh my gosh, I, I really think and again I apologize if I'm offending anybody, but anybody with a, with a, in the last 20 years they got a PhD in education.
• 40:18
Speaker 1: I meet plenty of them out at the school boards and different things.
• 40:21
Speaker 1: Phd in education stands for psychological head disorder and and that's really what they have and and it's really, it's really something.
• 40:30
Speaker 1: I mean, even the best ones who are trying, which aren't many, but there are some and and these Superintendents of school districts, many of them are doctor this and doctor that, and I'll tell you what.
• 40:42
Speaker 1: I met him in the Catholic Church.
• 40:43
Speaker 1: Doctor of Education is in charge of Catholic schools for district Linda.
• 40:48
Speaker 1: They have become so a world, so, so, so, worldly right.
• 40:52
Speaker 1: They become so secularized that that they I'll tell you what I was presenting Love Ed, which is a education to help parents do exactly this.
• 41:04
Speaker 1: So if anybody's interested, go look at our website, jp2renewedorg.
• 41:07
Speaker 1: Look up Love Ed.
• 41:09
Speaker 1: Let's bring it to your parish because it gives parents and their children together.
• 41:14
Speaker 1: We come up alongside you and we help you to unpack what used to be called the birds and the bee talk.
• 41:20
Speaker 1: We do it in one night with you over a series.
• 41:23
Speaker 1: We give you some books to take home so that you can follow up and you become active in this role.
• 41:28
Speaker 1: So what Linda said is well, how do I talk to my kids?
• 41:31
Speaker 1: How do I do this?
• 41:31
Speaker 1: Well, we show you how to do that.
• 41:33
Speaker 1: We put you on a program and on a trajectory that's going to bond you with your children, so when they have questions about sexuality, they will come to you, and not only that, we fill their hearts full of what is really true, good and beautiful that night and have you do it with us so that you don't leave them in a vacuum.
• 41:51
Speaker 1: When you leave children in a vacuum and avoid, you are literally feeding them to Satan right now.
• 41:57
  Speaker 1: I mean, it's amazing.
• 41:58
Speaker 1: You are actually allowing this to happen.
• 42:01
Speaker 1: Parents, to your point, linda, we have a responsibility in grandparents to say no, no more, not on my watch, no more stolen innocence on my watch.
• 42:10
Speaker 1: If we're not doing that, then again, we're not.
• 42:13
Speaker 1: We're not responsible parents, it's just the reality of it.
• 42:18
Speaker 1: And in the other hand, they're bringing kids to drag shows they're showing.
• 42:22
Speaker 1: I had one teacher that said to me Jack, what do I do?
• 42:26
Speaker 1: You know, I caught this young boy looking at pornography and he wasn't worried about it.
• 42:29
Speaker 1: And I asked them.
• 42:30
Speaker 1: I said I'm going to call your dad and he said my dad watches porn.
• 42:35
Speaker 2: You know, I mean, look what we're doing to these kids, you know.
• 42:37
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 42:38
Speaker 2: So there's a lot of complication with that, but you know, Jack, the love ed is such a good way for parents who may be saying I want to get involved, I want to do this, I need hope that.
• 42:54
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I wish I had it back when I was a parent.
• 42:58
Speaker 2: But that example from Mexico is so important to say.
• 43:03
Speaker 2: When, when parents really get this and they understand what's happening to our children, there's great power in them getting together.
• 43:12
Speaker 2: So a large group of parents who have all been through love ed and understand this perspective, have a lot of power in making changes.
• 43:21
Speaker 2: You know, many years ago in working with alcoholism and a DIY program or we were working with people who didn't have issues with alcohol and so on I learned some stuff about persuasion and one of the things I learned that was most helpful was in the program called talking with your kids about alcohol, and we learned that, you know, we can actually inoculate our kids against what we today call the indoctrination of ideas that we do not want them to hold because they're false.
• 43:59
Speaker 2: And the way we do that is by talking to our kids about all these issues first, and that we may say you know you're going to hear some people say, and then you would present the idea that you do not want them to hold because of the falsity of it, and then you say but this is what we know, this is what we understand.
• 44:22
Speaker 2: So it's a process really where you, if the kids go out and then they hear that thought that you told them they might hear.
• 44:30
Speaker 2: They have some frame of reference now to say, wait a minute, mom or dad, talk to me about that.
• 44:37
Speaker 2: That's not true, you see, and they gradually will feel like some strengthen themselves not to believe everything that they're hearing out there, because they've already heard it from the people.
• 44:49
Speaker 2: They trust that it is not the truth and I can see that working in my own grandkids.
• 44:54
Speaker 2: It's very, very powerful.
• 44:56
Speaker 2: So I would suggest that the starting point would be the love ed and then going from there with how we're going to deal with our own kids, and I think, if enough kids are having that experience in their own home, that we will see in the broader sense that many, many of them are not buying it and they're not going to fall into it, you know.
• 45:18
Speaker 2: So that's hope that I have about these issues, yeah that's a great point.
• 45:23
Speaker 1: So let's, we'll wind it up there, linda.
• 45:25
Speaker 1: I think that's a great point, and and if we don't, if we don't fill our kids right with the truth, then they're going to be taken down.
• 45:32
Speaker 1: It's just there's too much power out there right now.
• 45:35
Speaker 1: There's too many currents of evil, and you explained it very, very well.
• 45:38
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 45:38
Speaker 1: That's how we can become proactive, and the good point that you made is it's not as hard as you think.
• 45:45
Speaker 1: You know, if you go along with something like love ed, we've actually help you unpack this.
• 45:51
Speaker 1: We take you through these steps because otherwise it can seem daunting.
• 45:55
Speaker 1: But what a beauty is.
• 45:57
Speaker 1: One day it seems daunting, you go to one session and the next day it doesn't seem as daunting anymore and you empower parents to do exactly what you said, right.
• 46:07
Speaker 2: And they're not alone.
• 46:08
Speaker 2: They see that others are doing it as well.
• 46:10
  Speaker 2: I'm not alone.
• 46:12
  Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, linda.
• 46:13
Speaker 1: Well, thank you very much.
• 46:14
Speaker 1: Thanks for being with us.
• 46:15
Speaker 1: I went all over the board.
• 46:17
  Speaker 1: I know I didn't stay on, john.
• 46:18
  Speaker 2: Paul.
• 46:19
Speaker 1: But John Paul would want us to do that.
• 46:20
Speaker 1: I think you know he brought this out because he said look, there was a time where if parents didn't bring the sex ed and then speak about these things to their kids, the culture itself would help.
• 46:31
Speaker 1: Today it's the opposite.
• 46:33
Speaker 1: The culture will take you down, you know, and so you're really a hostile environment out there.
• 46:40
Speaker 1: All right, hey, god bless you.
• 46:41
Speaker 1: Thanks for being with us.
• 46:42
  Speaker 1: Everybody.
• 46:43
Speaker 1: Talk to you soon.
• 46:43
  Speaker 1: Bye.
