- 0:01Speaker 1: A small show, a smallsy show.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Hey, this is the script and you're listening to small.
- 0:09Speaker 3: From Danny from the script is here.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Yes, how are you Mate' great, it's good to see it.
- 0:19Speaker 4: It's wonderful to say to me, to see me. Well,
- 0:22Speaker 4: you're supposed to me being jet lagged your jet leg
- 0:24Speaker 4: this time.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm the I'm the one who hasn't slept and
- 0:28Speaker 1: could you know, answer or ask weed questions. So it's
- 0:31Speaker 1: wonderful to see you. House life, catch me up. Last
- 0:34Speaker 1: time I saw you, you was in Australia. Yeah, and
- 0:37Speaker 1: you were just about to do the.
- 0:39Speaker 4: Tours on the tour of the wineries. You know what
- 0:41Speaker 4: I mean, proper Irish band thing to do. Yeah, get
- 0:43Speaker 4: on the gargle. Yeah, that was We had such a
- 0:46Speaker 4: great time. And then we came back. We finished off
- 0:50Speaker 4: the rest of the world tour, went straight into the studio.
- 0:53Speaker 2: And then recorded a new album.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:55Speaker 4: And then I've been sitting on an album pretty much
- 0:57Speaker 4: since last September. Okay, and then and we've we got
- 1:01Speaker 4: a call from Take That too. They said that they're
- 1:04Speaker 4: doing their Circus tour, which is the same tour that
- 1:08Speaker 4: we started off on.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yes, so I'm coming to the show and I didn't,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and I'm so excited because I didn't. I'm like, I
- 1:15Speaker 1: didn't go to the take that Circus tour or see
- 1:17Speaker 1: you the first time around. And I've been seeing on TikTok,
- 1:21Speaker 1: like the elephant woman, the woman who hangs off the
- 1:23Speaker 1: back and she whips her hair, and the water fountains.
- 1:26Speaker 3: This is a production.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah, if you haven't seen it, you need to go
- 1:29Speaker 4: see it. Yeah, it's insanely massive. It's a kind of
- 1:32Speaker 4: like Circus.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Alea meets music, you know, meets the boy band, you know.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Yeah, and we so, like I said, we were lucky
- 1:39Speaker 4: enough that take that kind of shelled us off to
- 1:41Speaker 4: all their fans all those years ago. And then, like
- 1:44Speaker 4: I said, in the meantime, we've been trying to catch
- 1:46Speaker 4: up on their hits, you know, because they've got so many.
- 1:48Speaker 4: And then they call us to say that they're doing
- 1:50Speaker 4: the same show again. They want to recreate that same
- 1:54Speaker 4: night of having us support and them going on after.
- 1:57Speaker 4: So I was just like absolutely, you know, they did
- 1:59Speaker 4: like seven hundred thousand.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Tickets, seven hundred thousand tickets.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Insane amount of tickets to do. So we've got an
- 2:05Speaker 4: album coming out and it just means we can rock up.
- 2:08Speaker 3: We don't.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You know, it's not all hinging on my performance. So
- 2:11Speaker 2: just like rock up, pressures off.
- 2:13Speaker 4: To play for an hour and you got hits now too,
- 2:15Speaker 4: like and you know what I'm saying, We kind of
- 2:17Speaker 4: we're not.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Caught up, but we you know, we did our best anyway.
- 2:19Speaker 2: But yeah, it was.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Just it's a it's a magical night where you get
- 2:22Speaker 4: kind of contrast of two different bands on the one night,
- 2:25Speaker 4: but we all have the kind of similar fan bases.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I think there's there's a some take that songs the
- 2:30Speaker 4: script could do, like black for Good stuff like that.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe even your favorite real the world.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Yeah absolutely, and same vice versa. Did you want to
- 2:38Speaker 4: question did you when you grew up, what did you
- 2:41Speaker 4: listen to? Did you want to be in a boy band?
- 2:43Speaker 1: What?
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:43Speaker 2: That was that was wanted to be in everything. I
- 2:45Speaker 2: just wanted to be in music.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, regardless what that was like, Yeah, I wanted
- 2:49Speaker 4: to rap. I wanted to be the third member of
- 2:51Speaker 4: Criss Cross. Yeah yeah, like not simply the fact that
- 2:54Speaker 4: I couldn't wrap, but all so you're not black, so
- 2:57Speaker 4: how was that gonna work?
- 2:58Speaker 2: But I could wear my underpants.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Dream though, Yeah, potato with a dream.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I will one day I'll be a black wrapper. Yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 2: but no, I wanted that.
- 3:08Speaker 4: And then you know, watching TLC and like all these
- 3:12Speaker 4: like really colorful kind of bands coming through, but then
- 3:15Speaker 4: the boy bands kind of come through and it just
- 3:17Speaker 4: looks like girls were all over them. When you're a teenager,
- 3:20Speaker 4: it's better than having girls screaming.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Actually, yeah, you will like.
- 3:23Speaker 3: This is what we're gonna do. And I believe you me.
- 3:25Speaker 4: I've been at rock concerts and both my brothers were
- 3:27Speaker 4: in rock bands and heavy metal bands, and there ain't
- 3:30Speaker 4: nothing but a loaded dudes. They're like people you'd you'd
- 3:33Speaker 4: see at the front row in wrestlers. Yeah, there's me
- 3:36Speaker 4: like old bearded men, dirty smelly, you know what I mean.
- 3:39Speaker 4: So I was like, I think I might I might
- 3:41Speaker 4: prefer to be go with the clean ladies and said
- 3:44Speaker 4: and the dirty men.
- 3:46Speaker 3: And it has worked out. It has worked out.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Now you are coming to Australia next year. Yeah, okay,
- 3:53Speaker 1: let me quickly go through the dates. You're going to
- 3:54Speaker 1: be playing Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Uh, this is gonna
- 3:58Speaker 1: be the Men in the Arena tour in line with
- 4:02Speaker 1: the new album that's coming out as well.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're so excited. The single Man in
- 4:07Speaker 4: the Arena. I read this speech by Theodore Roosevelt and
- 4:13Speaker 4: he wrote it in the early nineteen.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Who is just so people know he is a famous
- 4:16Speaker 1: former US president.
- 4:18Speaker 3: We may not know who he is.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Yes, sorry, shout out to Teddy. Yeah dead, yeah, Daddy.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Roosevelt.
- 4:26Speaker 4: No, but he just he wrote this brilliant speech yep,
- 4:29Speaker 4: about about the you know, the spoils and the honor
- 4:34Speaker 4: and glory belongs to the person who's actually in the ring,
- 4:37Speaker 4: whose face is marred with blood and dust, who's actually
- 4:40Speaker 4: in there trying and not. It doesn't belong to the
- 4:43Speaker 4: critics or the people in the cheap seats sitting there
- 4:45Speaker 4: laughing at them and pointing as there as the strong
- 4:47Speaker 4: man stumbles and all these things.
- 4:49Speaker 3: So which is can I say?
- 4:50Speaker 1: It's a very like I've done some therapy in my times,
- 4:52Speaker 1: and and the man in the Arena notion actually comes
- 4:56Speaker 1: up for anyone who like does anything in front of
- 4:58Speaker 1: people or who is criticized. It is used as a
- 5:01Speaker 1: point to go. Actually, it doesn't matter if you fall
- 5:03Speaker 1: or you stumble. Like Teddy said that you're there doing
- 5:06Speaker 1: something is way more important than anyone who is criticizing
- 5:10Speaker 1: from the chief seats.
- 5:11Speaker 2: It's a beautiful it's a beautiful sentiment.
- 5:13Speaker 4: And for people who are I guess not really used
- 5:16Speaker 4: to you know, offering your workout to the world.
- 5:19Speaker 2: When you're an artist and you offer here's what I do.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Years ago, it used to be only people who cared
- 5:25Speaker 4: about art would comment on it, and then you're kind
- 5:28Speaker 4: of like kill But now it's like you're putting it
- 5:29Speaker 4: up to the world, and the world it almost seems
- 5:32Speaker 4: like it's like being online is like a blood sport.
- 5:35Speaker 4: You know that people you know, you kind of like
- 5:37Speaker 4: it's it's funny.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's funny you say that too, because it's like, I
- 5:41Speaker 1: don't know if it's the algorithm or what it is,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but nice, nice, nice things doesn't work. No one gives
- 5:48Speaker 1: a shit, No one cares, no, no one cares, like,
- 5:51Speaker 1: like respectfully, and I'm gonna give this, Like, you get
- 5:53Speaker 1: out there, do an amazing vocally incredible performance.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, people will.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Be like, h Danny sound great, flick, Yeah, you get
- 6:01Speaker 1: up there, miss a note, sounds terrible.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Holy shit, they're going to eat that up.
- 6:06Speaker 4: They two million views and two thousand comments. See I
- 6:10Speaker 4: told you that he hasn't gotten it anymore. But then
- 6:13Speaker 4: there's then and then other people get involved. It really
- 6:16Speaker 4: is if you say you don't know if it's in
- 6:17Speaker 4: the algorithm, it's one hundred percent.
- 6:19Speaker 2: That's what the algorithm is. It's hate, it is discourse.
- 6:22Speaker 4: It's a bit of a difference. So hate is just
- 6:24Speaker 4: pure hate. But what is hate shouting into the voids?
- 6:27Speaker 4: You need somebody to show back with goods. So underneath
- 6:30Speaker 4: every post they'll have the boss, which is like, oh,
- 6:33Speaker 4: this is an amazing performance, and then the other guy
- 6:35Speaker 4: going this.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Is absolute mook. How dare you say that?
- 6:38Speaker 4: By the way, I've seen your profile for you look
- 6:40Speaker 4: like a mug, and then the next person underneath.
- 6:42Speaker 3: You've seen the comments section.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Listen, I live in the comments section. I'll get great
- 6:46Speaker 2: fun out of it.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Do you get do you read okay?
- 6:49Speaker 1: Do you does sometimes? Do you get triggered by the
- 6:53Speaker 1: comments though? Or have you built a bit of a
- 6:56Speaker 1: thick skin where nothing they can say to me that
- 6:58Speaker 1: I ain't heard?
- 6:59Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:00Speaker 4: Like there was at one point a few years ago,
- 7:01Speaker 4: I had like a lot of burner accounts, and I
- 7:03Speaker 4: was like, on my behalf I'm like answering on you know,
- 7:06Speaker 4: saying like how dare you you were that you were
- 7:08Speaker 4: burned to myself and the third person like, how dare you?
- 7:10Speaker 4: He put his heart on his you know sleeve and
- 7:13Speaker 4: you know he wanted England to wear that jacket and
- 7:15Speaker 4: you just can't. It doesn't fit you because you're too fat,
- 7:18Speaker 4: you know, like like just.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And you know what the craziest thing is is that
- 7:23Speaker 1: I have been told like people who are breaking into
- 7:26Speaker 1: music today are told have your number one your account, right, yeah,
- 7:30Speaker 1: but then also go and make yourself a fan account
- 7:32Speaker 1: and you have to be the fan in your comment
- 7:34Speaker 1: section saying saying, oh my god, Danny's so great, isn't
- 7:39Speaker 1: he looking good today?
- 7:40Speaker 4: He's looking fantastic? Or I'll see I'm such a self hater.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I would actually just be the mean guy. I'd be like, god,
- 7:45Speaker 4: he looks like a big head, looking like this guy's
- 7:47Speaker 4: looking unbelievable.
- 7:48Speaker 2: He's ugly, little so and so.
- 7:51Speaker 4: But that's the it's the world that we're living in
- 7:53Speaker 4: because this it's discourse. You look at the likes of
- 7:56Speaker 4: X any social media and it's written into the algorithm.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Is that discourse? And haven't but here's here's a frightening statistic.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Is one of every three tweets you read or whatever
- 8:09Speaker 4: they call now posts that you read isn't real.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Every three what do you mean?
- 8:14Speaker 3: One out of it?
- 8:15Speaker 4: But third of what you read on the internet it's
- 8:20Speaker 4: a bus or it's a fake, made up conversation to
- 8:22Speaker 4: get you interested in what.
- 8:24Speaker 2: They're talking about.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Why why does it seem like a more hate field
- 8:27Speaker 4: is because the companies know and they've seen. If you
- 8:31Speaker 4: even ask GROC about the business model, say that discourse
- 8:34Speaker 4: has written into the as a business model because it
- 8:37Speaker 4: gets you the dopamine hit. Once you see you see
- 8:40Speaker 4: two people fighting, alarm goes off, Like.
- 8:42Speaker 3: What then you I'm watching it, I'm watching.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I'm watching. I want to see what he's saying back
- 8:46Speaker 2: to him, back to him.
- 8:47Speaker 4: But it's it's the way that you can kind of
- 8:49Speaker 4: keep people's attention until finally when you doom.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Scrolled and you're like, I need to get out of here.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Which I have to say in Australia, you guys were
- 8:57Speaker 4: the first to ban social media for sixteen but yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 4: unbelievable they just did it here.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Now, Yeah, how has that landed in the in the UK?
- 9:05Speaker 1: Because in Australia. Some people were onto it, and yes,
- 9:09Speaker 1: other people were like, great idea, but I hate that
- 9:12Speaker 1: the government is like getting involved because like there was
- 9:14Speaker 1: a fee that they might be a digital idea and
- 9:16Speaker 1: that they might track what we do.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Well you see that's that is happening over here, and
- 9:20Speaker 4: it just so happens a care starmer.
- 9:22Speaker 2: You know, he got he resigned yesterday.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think that's probably the best thing he's
- 9:27Speaker 4: doing with that.
- 9:29Speaker 2: True. Now, there are other.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Safeguards that are happening to like take away your your
- 9:35Speaker 4: anonymity online. Yeah, but I have I don't know because
- 9:39Speaker 4: I'm not an expert on it, but I have to
- 9:41Speaker 4: say there has to be some accountability somewhere along the
- 9:45Speaker 4: way for their being completely anonymous anonymous hate you know.
- 9:50Speaker 3: No, I agree.
- 9:50Speaker 4: My wife is she's let's say, a victim of just
- 9:53Speaker 4: fans anonymous hate you know, directed at her. Yeah, and
- 9:58Speaker 4: it's like and they'll set up different account and say
- 10:00Speaker 4: different things and contact our family just and stuff.
- 10:03Speaker 2: So I see it firsthand. There's only a certain amount of.
- 10:06Speaker 4: You know, if you approach any of these social media
- 10:08Speaker 4: companies that are like ignore it, you know, you've got
- 10:11Speaker 4: to report it and.
- 10:13Speaker 1: No, but that's why I asked you, like for people
- 10:15Speaker 1: who like for you, who's been doing it basically his
- 10:17Speaker 1: entire life. You it doesn't mean it doesn't trigger you,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and it doesn't mean it doesn't like sometimes sting, but
- 10:22Speaker 1: you have you build a bit of resistance to it
- 10:25Speaker 1: when you know that your family and friends, they didn't
- 10:27Speaker 1: sign up for that.
- 10:28Speaker 4: And also if people say anything about me, my family
- 10:34Speaker 4: get triggered.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 2: You know, I know.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Because I've sat and talked to a reporter and then
- 10:39Speaker 4: the next day read the story and I remember the
- 10:41Speaker 4: conversation and it didn't go like that. And so I've
- 10:45Speaker 4: years of I know just about how much to feed,
- 10:49Speaker 4: you know, the animals before.
- 10:50Speaker 2: You know, you have to be in the cage with them.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And I'd never do you dirty.
- 10:54Speaker 2: No you haven't.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't know that.
- 10:57Speaker 4: It's just going to edit this helping, you know, get
- 10:59Speaker 4: every I said and play it on you or till
- 11:01Speaker 4: you get what I want.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it is it is.
- 11:04Speaker 1: No. I get you on that point, because like you know,
- 11:06Speaker 1: for the family more, Yeah, it must be Look, I
- 11:08Speaker 1: can imagine it would be tough, and I think it
- 11:10Speaker 1: doesn't even matter, you can say something, but for some
- 11:15Speaker 1: reason people still doesn't.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Get through their head.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Like I think people.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Think that the anonymous hate on the internet is victimless
- 11:21Speaker 1: because they don't realize the actual impact that that world.
- 11:24Speaker 2: It's I actually think I think you're to a certain degree,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you're right.
- 11:27Speaker 4: I think the person feels so insignificant that they're like, oh,
- 11:31Speaker 4: I just posted like, oh, this is a crap song
- 11:33Speaker 4: underneath Justin Bieber, he's hardly gonna he's hardly going to
- 11:36Speaker 4: read it, like he's off being famous and doing whatever.
- 11:39Speaker 4: But it's interesting that you've you know, not just a
- 11:42Speaker 4: hate comments because you're you know, even let's say the
- 11:45Speaker 4: content that you do here, there's got to be some
- 11:47Speaker 4: part of you. At the end of the day. You
- 11:49Speaker 4: have a boss. Yeah, your boss looks at how many
- 11:53Speaker 4: views you've had? Totally what's the type of interview you did?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Is it a bit more salacious? Can you not lean
- 11:58Speaker 2: into that character a bit more? You know?
- 12:00Speaker 4: But then also not just your boss is treating you
- 12:03Speaker 4: with stats the internet.
- 12:05Speaker 2: You can see how many lakes.
- 12:06Speaker 4: You got, so's it's almost like it's not like a
- 12:09Speaker 4: bad comment, but a lack of likes.
- 12:11Speaker 2: It's almost like the internet punched.
- 12:12Speaker 1: You to no I no, I agree, and if we
- 12:15Speaker 1: and if we go back to what you said before,
- 12:17Speaker 1: the social media platforms reward discourse and we can have
- 12:21Speaker 1: a mad bro loving in this interview and you know,
- 12:25Speaker 1: a couple thousand people will watch it. But if I
- 12:28Speaker 1: slammed you and say something really offensive about you know anything, boom,
- 12:34Speaker 1: my boss will.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I was like, let's do it, just reform.
- 12:39Speaker 4: You should do it like a social experiment where we
- 12:40Speaker 4: have a really awkward interview and you say some mess
- 12:43Speaker 4: up things and I say some mess of things and
- 12:44Speaker 4: it just cuts and then.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Just see which one goes by what happens.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, one hundred percent will go viral.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Tell me about the new song, which is obviously we
- 12:54Speaker 1: started getting into the Man in the Arena, but it's
- 12:57Speaker 1: is it completely driven by that?
- 12:59Speaker 2: Is that what it was? Well, it's driven yeah, kind
- 13:02Speaker 2: of like that. It's more of an answer.
- 13:05Speaker 4: To to today's day and age, you know, it's it
- 13:08Speaker 4: was the first single that we thought off the album.
- 13:10Speaker 2: The album was called.
- 13:11Speaker 4: The User's Guide to Being Human and it was just
- 13:14Speaker 4: in this day and age where AI is coming in,
- 13:17Speaker 4: everybody feels like they're losing their jobs, tech is surrounding
- 13:20Speaker 4: us completely. We're almost forgetting what it means to switch
- 13:25Speaker 4: the phone off and go out and just like spend
- 13:28Speaker 4: time with.
- 13:28Speaker 2: The people you love, yeah, looking to their eyes.
- 13:32Speaker 4: That it came about with this song, and then we
- 13:35Speaker 4: started to write about the human condition, so it was
- 13:38Speaker 4: it's quite like a lot of other Script albums in
- 13:40Speaker 4: the way that I'm just trying to explain what it's
- 13:43Speaker 4: like to be me now, living in the day and
- 13:45Speaker 4: age we're in and trying to remain as human as
- 13:48Speaker 4: I possibly can be. Yeah, before we get out of here,
- 13:50Speaker 4: because we're not here for a long time.
- 13:52Speaker 3: So that song have we got have we got some
- 13:54Speaker 3: hot break songs?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Which it's a killer, it's a class and
- 14:00Speaker 4: is the Man who Can't Be Moved part too, because
- 14:01Speaker 4: it's the continuation of the story okay.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yes, it's called.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Them living living our life without me, okay, and it's
- 14:08Speaker 4: it's like it's it's placed years on. So if there
- 14:11Speaker 4: was a movie, it's now the amount of time has
- 14:13Speaker 4: passed and the song is done and I don't want
- 14:17Speaker 4: to give too much away, but the plot in this scheme,
- 14:19Speaker 4: I'm probably gonna shoot the.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Video go back to the same corner. Oh my god,
- 14:22Speaker 2: I'm just sitting there and then she shows up.
- 14:24Speaker 4: I'm getting she doesn't show up. No, she shows up,
- 14:26Speaker 4: shut up. Yeah, but she's there and her husband's there.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Oh fuck that you what are you doing that to
- 14:31Speaker 3: us for?
- 14:32Speaker 4: And I noticed there's a ring on her finger and
- 14:34Speaker 4: of course finger. Yeah, and then his fucking kid steps
- 14:36Speaker 4: out from behind him. No, it doesn't look like me,
- 14:39Speaker 4: and his eyes don't look like mine.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It's like this heartbreak.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Moment where you do you do you in our life
- 14:45Speaker 4: without me?
- 14:46Speaker 1: Do you in that moment, like realize that you're That song, right,
- 14:52Speaker 1: is gonna be someone's breakup song, like like the Man,
- 14:55Speaker 1: Like the Man Who Can't Be Moved is a is
- 14:57Speaker 1: millions of people's breakup song, like they you know, there
- 15:00Speaker 1: is a moment that the worst thing happens, their relationship
- 15:02Speaker 1: busts up, and that song gets them through that and
- 15:05Speaker 1: they cry and they wind their windows down and they
- 15:07Speaker 1: scream it why And now you're going to do that
- 15:11Speaker 1: to a whole new generation hoping that's.
- 15:13Speaker 2: The planet great?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I love you know people cry like.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Adele, Hello from the other side. Is is?
- 15:24Speaker 4: It's kind of like in that same same thing as like, Okay,
- 15:26Speaker 4: we've had I sang the song about you all those
- 15:28Speaker 4: years ago, and it's like hello from the other side.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I've now gotten through.
- 15:31Speaker 4: The heartache and it's still hurts and it's still painful
- 15:34Speaker 4: to talk about you, but it's it's kind of in
- 15:37Speaker 4: that same way, in that same same vein.
- 15:39Speaker 2: It's actually on piano as well, which is it's beautiful.
- 15:42Speaker 3: T jerk out it. I love it.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Ah, talk to me about AI in music?
- 15:48Speaker 3: Are we using it? Are we hating on it? What
- 15:50Speaker 3: do we?
- 15:50Speaker 1: What do you?
- 15:50Speaker 2: It's mad because I go on a journey.
- 15:52Speaker 4: I think the same thing as well as if you
- 15:54Speaker 4: talk about it in an artistic side, everyone's going to
- 15:58Speaker 4: be in the comments section be like.
- 15:59Speaker 2: This, So I get rid of it.
- 16:01Speaker 4: You know, you would have been one of the bands
- 16:02Speaker 4: we thought would have been against it, and I am
- 16:05Speaker 4: completely against it, But I don't need to be too
- 16:07Speaker 4: vocally against it because it's against itself. It can't it
- 16:11Speaker 4: can't replicate what a human does. It can musically, you
- 16:15Speaker 4: can kind of go oll that sounds like a track,
- 16:17Speaker 4: like a well polished you know, yeah, But as far
- 16:20Speaker 4: as the human condition or lyrics, I still to this
- 16:23Speaker 4: day haven't seen anything that comes anywhere near close to
- 16:27Speaker 4: a human describing what it's like to be human. There's
- 16:29Speaker 4: something in it that tells me, how can a robot
- 16:33Speaker 4: ever replicate?
- 16:35Speaker 2: You know, the zeitgeist that is artists?
- 16:38Speaker 4: Know, because I personally I can see a song or
- 16:42Speaker 4: two doing well.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I can see all these things.
- 16:44Speaker 4: But as far as an artist, I mean, you think
- 16:46Speaker 4: of the ecosystem that's there, you've got okay, you know,
- 16:50Speaker 4: you want to go see the band. Part of me
- 16:52Speaker 4: is like I see an artist, and what I like
- 16:55Speaker 4: about the artist is the fact that they're broken. Maybe
- 16:58Speaker 4: then maybe they come from the same place as me,
- 17:00Speaker 4: or they've gotten through you know, the.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Same thing, similar thing that I've gone through.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Yeah completely, maybe I haven't, but I can really identify
- 17:07Speaker 4: it or find it beautiful how someone was able to
- 17:10Speaker 4: turn all of that heartache and tragedy into something beautiful.
- 17:14Speaker 4: And that is part of the journey for me because
- 17:16Speaker 4: I like my artists broken.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I like my favorite.
- 17:19Speaker 3: People, the best ones. Yeah, a little bit.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Yeah, they're a lot of bit you know, Yeah, but
- 17:24Speaker 4: I don't think that well at the day when you
- 17:27Speaker 4: know a robot is able to do that or come
- 17:29Speaker 4: and do an interview because I like I like artists,
- 17:32Speaker 4: and I look at artists, but I also want to
- 17:35Speaker 4: know about them and where they're from and look on
- 17:37Speaker 4: the say, look on their Instagram. And because today how
- 17:40Speaker 4: transparent you can be online. It's all like the fourth
- 17:43Speaker 4: wall is completely broken down to two artists, and I
- 17:46Speaker 4: find that I'm not scared at all. But we've been
- 17:50Speaker 4: doing fun things, like we have our new single Man
- 17:53Speaker 4: in the Arena. And I heard I was listening to
- 17:55Speaker 4: Joe Rogan and he was saying, I was looking me
- 17:57Speaker 4: on the podcast.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I was on it Joe Rogan the other day. Yeah,
- 18:00Speaker 2: I heard Joe saying this to me, but I was
- 18:03Speaker 2: on this.
- 18:04Speaker 4: I was listening to his podcast and he said that
- 18:07Speaker 4: he has it translated into every language but with but
- 18:13Speaker 4: then put applies his own voice on it. So it's
- 18:16Speaker 4: Joe Rogan's voice speaking Chinese.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Yeah, because AI can do that, right, like you can.
- 18:22Speaker 3: You can read a couple of.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, So it translated over.
- 18:26Speaker 4: So it's Joe Rogan's actual voice speaking Spanish, even.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Though Joe Rogan.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, but I think that I think there's something
- 18:36Speaker 4: really unique about that. So I tried it with Domanic
- 18:39Speaker 4: can't be moved. So my girlfriend is French. My girlfriend,
- 18:43Speaker 4: my wife don't wie no, no, no, my wife is French.
- 18:47Speaker 4: So she translated word for word domanic can't be moved,
- 18:51Speaker 4: and so I sang it and I sorry, she sang
- 18:55Speaker 4: it yeah. And then we applied my AI to to
- 18:59Speaker 4: it at and then she listened to it.
- 19:02Speaker 2: She was like, oh my god, this is insane.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I was like, what, she goes, well, the song itself,
- 19:07Speaker 4: I always pictured there was a guy in America on
- 19:10Speaker 4: an American street singing this song, because it's like words
- 19:14Speaker 4: on cardboard, picture on my hand, but hearing it in
- 19:16Speaker 4: my own language, you're actually on my street from me
- 19:21Speaker 4: in France.
- 19:22Speaker 2: And it made it. It brought it a lot closer
- 19:25Speaker 2: to home.
- 19:25Speaker 4: She said, I put a whole new, beautiful spin on it,
- 19:27Speaker 4: and I was like, wow, this is what am like.
- 19:30Speaker 4: That's the type of AI okay, fun stuff you do.
- 19:33Speaker 4: But like as far as like letting letting it write
- 19:36Speaker 4: for you or you know, I'm just writing lyrics I
- 19:39Speaker 4: pride myself on. I mean, if I gave my job
- 19:42Speaker 4: away or have nothing to.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Do, you know, absolutely.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Last question is a heat wave here in London, Yes, terrible?
- 19:48Speaker 1: What how are you keeping cool. Are you going to play?
- 19:51Speaker 4: I wasn't even gonna do interviews today, but I have
- 19:53Speaker 4: no airic on in my in my hotel, so I
- 19:55Speaker 4: just decided I'll come down here.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, do the interview. I appreciate you, getting preciate you
- 20:00Speaker 1: what I'm spending some time. We'll see you in Australia
- 20:04Speaker 1: next year. We're looking forward to it. Best of luck
- 20:07Speaker 1: with the album, Thank you so much, and we shall
- 20:09Speaker 1: see you back that.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't wait. I cannot wait for take that.
