  God's word in your life. So, let's

  huddle up and hear today's play from

  Luke 22, which says, "I have prayed for
• 0:13
  you, Simon, that your faith may not
• 0:15
  fail. And when you have turned back,
• 0:18
  strengthen your brothers." The Lord
• 0:20
  turned and looked straight at Peter.
• 0:21
  Then Peter remembered the word the Lord
• 0:23
  had spoken to him, and he went outside
• 0:25
  and wept bitterly. In Luke 22, Jesus
• 0:29
  says something every man needs to hear.
• 0:32
  I have prayed for you. And when you have
• 0:34
  turned back, strengthen your brothers.

  This is the moment right before Peter
• 0:38
  denies Jesus three times. And yet, Jesus
• 0:42
  isn't focused on Peter's fall. He's
• 0:44
  focused on Peter's return and on the
• 0:46
  mission that will follow it. Every man
• 0:49
  listening knows the feeling Peter
• 0:51
  carried that night. We've all denied
• 0:53
  Jesus. Sometimes with our silence,
• 0:55
  sometimes with our compromise, sometimes
• 0:58
  with the choices we knew were wrong
• 1:00
  before we even made them. We've all had
• 1:02
  moments when the rooster crowed in our
• 1:04
  hearts. But Luke tells us something
• 1:07
  staggering. The Lord turned and looked
• 1:09
  straight at Peter. Not with disgust, not
• 1:12
  with rejection, but with a kind of love
• 1:14
  that calls a man back to his purpose.
• 1:17
  And that's what God continues to do with
• 1:19
  men today. He restores them so they can
• 1:22
  restore others. He lifts them so they
• 1:24
  can lift others. He strengthens them so
• 1:26
  they can strengthen their brothers. This
• 1:29
  is why men go. This is why men serve.
• 1:31
  And this is why men show up for the
• 1:33
  church when the world is falling apart.
• 1:35
  And this is why men step into places of
• 1:38
  uncertainty by faith to encourage
• 1:41
  pastors, soldiers, husbands, fathers,
• 1:43
  brothers who desperately need to
• 1:45
  remember that Christ has not forgotten
• 1:47
  them. God doesn't send perfect men. He
• 1:50
  sends restored men. Men who know what it
• 1:53
  means to fail and to be forgiven. Men
• 1:56
  who know what it means to fall and to be
• 1:58
  raised up by grace. Men who can look
• 2:00
  another brother in the eye and say,
• 2:02
  "I've been there and Christ brought me
• 2:04
  back." Run today's play. Return to Jesus

  and then strengthen your brothers. Don't
• 2:11
  wait until you feel worthy. Don't wait
• 2:13
  until you feel strong. Jesus didn't tell
• 2:16
  Peter, "If you recover, maybe I can use
• 2:18
  you." He said, "When you return,
• 2:21
  strengthen your brothers." There's a man
• 2:23
  in your life today who needs your
• 2:24
  encouragement, your prayer, your
• 2:26
  presence, your testimony, your courage.

  Don't underestimate how God can res use
• 2:32
  a restored man. Don't underestimate how
• 2:35
