- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'll accept it. I still don't trust this.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Don't believe I apologized.
- 2:18Speaker 1: For Oh you said we're forgiven? Yes, yeah, you two
- 2:23Speaker 1: are forgiven. Oh well, I don't like the way this
- 2:26Speaker 1: is going. Oh, I don't like the way this is going.
- 2:31Speaker 3: But if there's a Giveness Tour of twenty four, yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 4: The Forgiveness Tour of twenty four, that needs to be
- 2:37Speaker 4: a T shirt. We need to We need merchandise. We
- 2:41Speaker 4: need merchandise. One thing that people do like, well some people,
- 2:47Speaker 4: is more wrestling. Okay, it's been announced this past week.
- 2:51Speaker 1: We talked about it. What was it last week, Josh,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I think we did. It was either last week or.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Week before talked about the possibility of Saturday nights made event. No,
- 2:58Speaker 4: it was it was a week before then because as
- 3:00Speaker 4: Jason was with.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Us, Saturday Night's Main Event. It is official. This is
- 3:03Speaker 1: coming from w W dot com.
- 3:05Speaker 4: W and NBC announced the return of the iconic Saturday
- 3:09Speaker 4: Night's Main Event, which will air live on Saturday, December
- 3:12Speaker 4: fourteenth at eight pm Eastern on ESPN, on on NBC
- 3:17Speaker 4: encimblecast on Peacock. The special will be held at the
- 3:21Speaker 4: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Island, New York, the site of the first ever Saturday
- 3:28Speaker 1: Night's Main Event. It's coming back.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It's returning again, returning again.
- 3:36Speaker 1: That's true. It did what was a two thousand and seven,
- 3:39Speaker 1: two thousand and six when.
- 3:40Speaker 2: It first returned, and then they did some like live
- 3:43Speaker 2: shows with that branding.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Yeah, some house shows they did that with. So, yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 1: it looks like it is going. I don't know. I
- 3:51Speaker 1: don't know if it's going to be a regular thing.
- 3:53Speaker 1: For it's just going to be a special.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It's just a special, okay, all right?
- 3:56Speaker 4: Well maybe you know, I don't Maybe it's just going
- 3:58Speaker 4: to be a one time thing or or maybe just
- 4:00Speaker 4: a you know, every few months they have a special
- 4:02Speaker 4: Saturday Night's Main Event. Probably they go up against Aw's
- 4:06Speaker 4: Battle of the Belts, because you know, they just They
- 4:09Speaker 4: definitely like the trade barbs back and forth with one another.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Oh, this will go against collision time wise, true true
- 4:15Speaker 2: true of collision stays.
- 4:17Speaker 1: We'll see if they We'll get to that later on
- 4:21Speaker 1: in this second.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Yeah, very shock wavy, but yeah, it looks like Saturday
- 4:27Speaker 4: Night's main event will be returning on December fourteenth.
- 4:29Speaker 1: That's actually the day before my mother's birthday. So uh yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 1: moving on, just to stick with WWE SmackDown. Some people
- 4:40Speaker 1: didn't want this to happen. SmackDown's go into three hours.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Has that been confirmed?
- 4:46Speaker 4: I think it's it's being reported by Russell Volts Radio.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I don't think WWE has come out with anything official,
- 4:54Speaker 4: but it seems.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Like all.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Pretty reliable for the most part.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yeah, say, all signs are pointing towards three hours. And
- 5:03Speaker 1: this may not be a WWE thing.
- 5:05Speaker 4: This may be a USA network thing, because you got
- 5:08Speaker 4: to think they've had Monday Night Raw for three hours.
- 5:11Speaker 1: For what over a decade now something like that. Yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 1: so you know they're losing that.
- 5:17Speaker 4: It's going over to Netflix, and I'm assuming it's going
- 5:20Speaker 4: to go to three hours again on Netflix even though
- 5:22Speaker 4: it's going down. Yeah, so it only makes sense that
- 5:26Speaker 4: USA Networks like, hey, we're losing one, but can we
- 5:29Speaker 4: make this other one over here?
- 5:30Speaker 1: Three hours?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Actually losing two.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Technically true, they are losing two with NXT going over
- 5:38Speaker 4: to the CW. But their bread and butter was Monday
- 5:40Speaker 4: Night Raw and it being three hours and all of that.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I'm sure ad revenue wise it helped in that third hour.
- 5:49Speaker 4: But yeah, and this is going allegedly, this is going
- 5:53Speaker 4: to happen in January of twenty twenty five, so that
- 5:57Speaker 4: does kind of line up because that is when Monday
- 5:59Speaker 4: Night All is supposed to move over to Netflix.
- 6:03Speaker 1: So with that being said, that will mean there is
- 6:09Speaker 1: eight hours, not counting Saturday Night main of Saturday Night's
- 6:13Speaker 1: main event, eight hours of w W programming a week.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Technically nine we're an XT level, but I heard that
- 6:22Speaker 2: might be getting canceled.
- 6:23Speaker 4: So yeah, I don't because I never know when it's
- 6:26Speaker 4: going up Friday Fridays at ten.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Okay, see, I never never made care. Yeah, yeah, I
- 6:33Speaker 1: mean maybe maybe.
- 6:35Speaker 4: So it's like ten, I go back to, Yeah, what
- 6:40Speaker 4: was it back in the day, you had you had velocity,
- 6:42Speaker 4: you had heat, and you had two hours of SmackDown.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Overall, that's six hours right there. Yeah, so they they
- 6:49Speaker 1: already kind.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Of for the past a couple of decades, they've averaged
- 6:53Speaker 4: six hours of programming a week. So now it looks
- 6:57Speaker 4: like they're going to go up to nine, between between
- 7:00Speaker 4: eight and ten hours of programming a week, depending on
- 7:03Speaker 4: how long this Saturday Night's main event is. You know,
- 7:05Speaker 4: whether it's a one time thing, whether it's going to
- 7:07Speaker 4: be a continuous thing. I don't see it being a
- 7:08Speaker 4: continuous thing.
- 7:09Speaker 2: But yeah, I just see it being like a quarterly special,
- 7:13Speaker 2: and I'm okay with that.
- 7:14Speaker 1: We don't we don't.
- 7:16Speaker 4: As much as I love professional wrestling, we don't need
- 7:21Speaker 4: it's it's it's going to it's already kind.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Of diluting itself in certain aspects. With as much content
- 7:27Speaker 1: as there is out there, we don't need more. We
- 7:30Speaker 1: don't need more on a regular basis. Let me say that.
- 7:33Speaker 4: So, I don't know, maybe Saturday Night's main event takes over,
- 7:40Speaker 4: Maybe they cancel main event and level up.
- 7:44Speaker 1: And make them that. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know.
- 7:46Speaker 1: We'll find out more as we get closer to it.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So yeah, but just sticking with WWE.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Cody this past Friday night on SmackDown, very cinematic between him.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And Roman Rains.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Cinema.
- 8:09Speaker 1: It was a lot of people are calling it cinema.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:11Speaker 4: The So this past Sunday, past Friday, on SmackDown, Cody
- 8:17Speaker 4: Roads met with Roman Rains at the Georgia Tech football field.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And in case you do not know, Roman Rains played
- 8:21Speaker 1: for Georgia Tech. He played football for him. So that's
- 8:24Speaker 1: the connection he has with Jacksonville.
- 8:27Speaker 2: What is it he also played for Jacksonville.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Yeah, we're not gonna talk about that, but Roman did
- 8:32Speaker 4: play for Georgia Tech football. The two exchange words about
- 8:36Speaker 4: who city it is, talking about Atlanta, of course Cody,
- 8:40Speaker 4: that's his home to where he's from.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Roman played football there. You know, he talked about how
- 8:46Speaker 1: he played.
- 8:46Speaker 4: He had blood, sweat and tears on that field, talking
- 8:50Speaker 4: about george Georgia Tech's football field.
- 8:53Speaker 1: But they they they were talking about who city is
- 8:55Speaker 1: in their past.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Cody asked Roman for his word to have his back
- 9:00Speaker 4: against the bloodline. Roman agreed, but said that he's coming
- 9:04Speaker 4: for his title once it's over. While all this is
- 9:07Speaker 4: going on, Kevin Owens is witnessing this all backstage, leaving
- 9:11Speaker 4: him speechless. And then Baron Saxton asked him for a
- 9:14Speaker 4: comment on it, but Owen scoffed and walked away. Later
- 9:18Speaker 4: in the night, it was teased that Owens may turn
- 9:20Speaker 4: on Cody now for this segment because it was an
- 9:24Speaker 4: on location shoot. Jeremy Borash was the producer on the segment,
- 9:29Speaker 4: and apparently he has sort of become Triple H's go
- 9:31Speaker 4: to person for on location shoots. And then Paul Haman
- 9:36Speaker 4: was actually the director on this. I don't know if
- 9:39Speaker 4: he was the overall director, but he was the one
- 9:41Speaker 4: directing Cody and Roman on how to proceed throughout this.
- 9:47Speaker 1: So and then what was this? Did you have this
- 9:51Speaker 1: additionally the years? Okay, yeah, I didn't see that on there.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Josh added it, so, yeah, it was.
- 9:58Speaker 4: It was. It was a very good SEGM and I
- 10:00Speaker 4: did watch it yesterday. I had a chance to sit
- 10:03Speaker 4: down and watch.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Just when you think the Bloodline story is getting maybe
- 10:06Speaker 2: a little steale, you do something like this.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Roman basically said that he was a man without a country. Yeah,
- 10:12Speaker 4: he doesn't have a tribe. He's pretty much he in
- 10:15Speaker 4: his words, he doesn't have the weight of the world
- 10:17Speaker 4: on his neck.
- 10:18Speaker 2: He's got nothing to lose, he does.
- 10:20Speaker 4: He doesn't Cody has everything to lose. Yeah, Cody has
- 10:24Speaker 4: the weight of the world on his neck. And then
- 10:26Speaker 4: at the end when Cody's when Roman says that Cody
- 10:29Speaker 4: is getting in his way, Cody backs up and Roman's
- 10:32Speaker 4: like getting very much getting in my way into life.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that was just a very very cool line.
- 10:38Speaker 4: And also it's kind of crazy if you think about it.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Roman reigns suffering suck atash at one point, now can
- 10:50Speaker 4: pretty well handle his own when it comes to promos
- 10:54Speaker 4: back and forth. Yeah, we've seen this more and more
- 10:58Speaker 4: since he has become the tribal chiefs, since he has
- 11:00Speaker 4: had his He'll turn.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I think COVID helped a lot too, where he didn't
- 11:04Speaker 2: have to have the entrance there, he'd be more intimate
- 11:07Speaker 2: in his promos.
- 11:08Speaker 1: True, true, Yeah, that did. That did help out a lot.
- 11:11Speaker 1: That helped out I think a lot of people, but
- 11:13Speaker 1: definitely helped him out.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Because I'll be honest, when I first started watching WW
- 11:16Speaker 4: again back in twenty fifteen, I loathed a Roman reign
- 11:20Speaker 4: segment because it just it was the same old stuff.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Like he just said, he just talked the same old thing,
- 11:28Speaker 4: the same It was just it just it was cringey,
- 11:32Speaker 4: a little bit to me. I guess for me personally,
- 11:34Speaker 4: I just couldn't when I have I wasn't watching when
- 11:37Speaker 4: the Suffering suck Atache line came out, but I went
- 11:41Speaker 4: back and saw that as I was getting caught up
- 11:44Speaker 4: on WW And yeah, if I'll say this, if you
- 11:47Speaker 4: would have told me seven eight years ago that Roman
- 11:52Speaker 4: Reigns has become a very good promo, I would probably
- 11:56Speaker 4: laughed at you. Ye.
- 11:59Speaker 1: So yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 4: But additionally, the University of Arkansas's Pine Bluff marching band
- 12:07Speaker 4: will play for Cody's entrance at Bad Blood, which that'll
- 12:11Speaker 4: be October.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Fifth, fifth.
- 12:14Speaker 2: They just announced that, like today's the twenty second. They
- 12:16Speaker 2: just announced it like earlier today. Okay, all right, it's
- 12:19Speaker 2: interesting that Arkansas's bands doing it in Georgia. But I
- 12:23Speaker 2: did see a video like a few weeks ago of
- 12:25Speaker 2: a marching band playing Cody's team, and it was probably them,
- 12:28Speaker 2: so maybe that's why.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Okay, it is kind of random that it is a
- 12:34Speaker 4: University of Arkansas yea, but I mean two each teral
- 12:40Speaker 4: and actually, yes, speaking of Bad Blood, yeah, we'll have
- 12:42Speaker 4: a it's October fifth, so that means that we'll have
- 12:45Speaker 4: predictions next week. Yeah, even though we just can't sort
- 12:49Speaker 4: of came out of a gauntlet of predictions, sort of
- 12:53Speaker 4: potatoed the title back and forth.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, so you know it happens.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I'm not worried about predictions.
- 12:59Speaker 1: You're not. No, why are You're not worried about it?
- 13:02Speaker 3: Because it doesn't matter, Like, it's not in the grand
- 13:05Speaker 3: scheme of things. It doesn't matter.
- 13:07Speaker 1: You know.
- 13:07Speaker 3: It's it's ten ounces of plastic. It's all good, it's
- 13:13Speaker 3: it's all okay.
- 13:15Speaker 2: He wants Goldie back.
- 13:17Speaker 1: No, wait till you get it back. Then we'll see.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Then we will see. I might not even take part
- 13:26Speaker 3: in the prediction.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Oh really, I might not because.
- 13:30Speaker 3: It's not important. It's what's important is the friends we
- 13:35Speaker 3: make along the way.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I'm glad you said something about making friends along the way.
- 13:41Speaker 1: You're going to enjoy this next one.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 1: The Outrunners on their time in WCCW.
- 13:47Speaker 2: They're that old.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, man, they're ageless. They're the youngest man alive, all right.
- 13:54Speaker 4: On an episode of Talk as Jericho, the Outrunners talked
- 13:56Speaker 4: about their time in WCCW.
- 13:59Speaker 2: World Class Championship Wrestling.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Yes Truth Magnum, one half of the Outrunners, said, quote
- 14:05Speaker 4: matter of fact, talking about the Undertaker, he wanted us
- 14:09Speaker 4: to watch one of his matches against Tom Ronesto Junior,
- 14:13Speaker 4: son of Tom Renesto Senior. He came back and I
- 14:16Speaker 4: was absolutely livid. I said, Mark, which I found out
- 14:19Speaker 4: later was his name. I said, Mark, it's a good
- 14:21Speaker 4: thing you're walking around like a zombie because this town
- 14:24Speaker 4: is officially dead. Then Turbo flung flung a cucumber at
- 14:29Speaker 4: his head and the.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Rest is history.
- 14:34Speaker 4: And in case you don't know about the Outrunners, they
- 14:36Speaker 4: are they are the eighties to run through. That is,
- 14:40Speaker 4: they are living the gimmick.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah, like no, I remember when my brother and I
- 14:47Speaker 3: we would go to the kids shows or whatever. It
- 14:51Speaker 3: was a kid's classic Fox Kids Expo. That's it, the
- 14:54Speaker 3: kids Expo, and there would always be WCW there and
- 14:59Speaker 3: I mean this was early nineties. One time, I specifically
- 15:04Speaker 3: remember a three way tag team match. It was the
- 15:08Speaker 3: Nasty Boys versus the Hollywood Blondes versus the Outrunners. Oh really,
- 15:14Speaker 3: yeah remember that story, Like I remember that factual, factual story,
- 15:20Speaker 3: true story, you shooting true story. It was d Q
- 15:29Speaker 3: So okay, it was a dusty finish.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I mean.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yeah, early ninety w W baby, maybe a thumb point
- 15:38Speaker 3: somebody got to buy a thickle. Who knows the baby,
- 15:41Speaker 3: But what I do know is d oubt running up
- 15:43Speaker 3: with day a baby. Oh boy, no, I will say,
- 15:48Speaker 3: funny enough, that's what people said when they announced the Outrunners.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Oh boy, didn't other Outrunners had been around as long
- 15:56Speaker 4: as they have been recently?
- 15:58Speaker 1: No they I mean, I mean they just said right
- 16:01Speaker 1: there they were a part of w C and they
- 16:05Speaker 1: were part of World Class.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So one occasion catch them locally.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Still, that's true.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Recently had conquest like last month.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's right, I remember. I think, yeah, we
- 16:15Speaker 4: we we most likely we did did announce that one. Yeah,
- 16:18Speaker 4: we did put it out there, and we'll get to
- 16:21Speaker 4: the local shows later on in the program. But yeah,
- 16:23Speaker 4: the Outrunners, like I said, they, I've been loving everything
- 16:27Speaker 4: about them on a w I just I wish it
- 16:33Speaker 4: makes me miss South.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Paul Regional Wrestling. Yes, South Paul Regional Wrestling was great.
- 16:39Speaker 1: That we should, we should, we'll.
- 16:41Speaker 2: We'll we'll retroactive review.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Yeah that was such a woo tangy woo chrispy.
- 16:49Speaker 4: And then it's actually Rick Flair saying it, but it
- 16:51Speaker 4: says a paid Rick Flair act.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Oh if you haven't had a chance to go look
- 16:56Speaker 1: at go check out the outrunners. Please do so.
- 17:00Speaker 4: And just to close out this part of the segment,
- 17:02Speaker 4: there is a possible AWB deal. Yes, And for the
- 17:07Speaker 4: full disclosure, I know we've been talking a lot about
- 17:09Speaker 4: TV deals and new programs and this and that.
- 17:11Speaker 1: That's this whole year has been nothing but contracts.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:15Speaker 4: The reason why we're not even covering talent contracts is
- 17:18Speaker 4: because of all these TV contracts that are being negotiated
- 17:20Speaker 4: and this and that, and plus we also like to
- 17:22Speaker 4: make sure everybody knows where professional wrestling is going to be.
- 17:26Speaker 4: So coming from four one one mania dot Com quotes
- 17:31Speaker 4: a new report says that the TV deal between AEW
- 17:33Speaker 4: and Warner Brothers Discovery is likely to be announced next week.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Entertainment news outlet Puck reported per pw Insider during an
- 17:42Speaker 4: article on wbd's spending that aw's deal is closed to
- 17:46Speaker 4: being finalized. The report notes that the formal announcement could
- 17:50Speaker 4: come as soon as next week bar week. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:53Speaker 4: as soon as this week, barring any last minute changes.
- 17:57Speaker 1: AW is in.
- 17:58Speaker 4: New York City this week for Grand Slam, and they
- 18:02Speaker 4: are likely to have reps from WBD in attendance. Allegedly,
- 18:07Speaker 4: AW has been shopping around a new show, though after
- 18:11Speaker 4: filing a trademark for AW Shockwave.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Allegedly they have met with Fox over this. If this
- 18:17Speaker 1: were true and go through, it would likely mean the
- 18:20Speaker 1: end of AW Rampage.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Yesterday, it was reported by Andrew's Aian of the Matman podcast,
- 18:26Speaker 4: that AW pay per views will be on Max starting
- 18:30Speaker 4: January twenty twenty five. WBD could do it sooner, but
- 18:34Speaker 4: the aim is for the start of next year. Pay
- 18:36Speaker 4: per views won't be exclusive to Max though, and will
- 18:39Speaker 4: still be available on other platforms. So, and everybody's been
- 18:44Speaker 4: waiting on this TV deal announcement from AW. We haven't
- 18:47Speaker 4: gotten an official announcement, so take some of.
- 18:49Speaker 1: That with a grain of salt.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Okay, but uh, if they are going to make an announcement,
- 18:57Speaker 4: I say it's going to be this week for Grand Slam.
- 19:00Speaker 4: It only it makes sense. It's all sort of lining
- 19:04Speaker 4: up correctly.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Possibly because uh with Grand Slam they, as far as
- 19:09Speaker 2: I know, they have not announced that Rampages is part
- 19:12Speaker 2: of Grand Slam, which maybe that does me need a rampage.
- 19:15Speaker 1: That's true, I was.
- 19:16Speaker 4: I was even on aw's website to see what all
- 19:19Speaker 4: is going to fall under the Grand Slam banner. Yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 4: and all I saw was dynamite and collision and you
- 19:24Speaker 4: see nothing for rampage.
- 19:26Speaker 1: And usually they have a Grand Slam rampage.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so I mean it.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Could, you know.
- 19:34Speaker 4: I think I do think if they do have this
- 19:36Speaker 4: AW shockwave, they are going to acts rampage altogether.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think it it only makes sense. It's
- 19:41Speaker 1: just an hour on.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Friday nights after SmackDown or wherever they can really put it,
- 19:48Speaker 4: sometimes like.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Six o'clock saying as early as five.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it just depends on what sports are going on.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, So it would just it would only make sense,
- 19:57Speaker 4: and and them and possibly Fox taking it makes sense
- 20:02Speaker 4: as well, at least in my head, because even though
- 20:05Speaker 4: they just had this deal with WWE, they could get
- 20:09Speaker 4: a cheaper deal, possibly make turn a profit on something
- 20:13Speaker 4: with AW.
- 20:14Speaker 2: It's also rendered it's gonna be on their f S
- 20:15Speaker 2: one channel too.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Yes, so it may not. Yeah, I probably won't be
- 20:18Speaker 1: an all main Fox. It will just be on f
- 20:20Speaker 1: S one.
- 20:22Speaker 4: I just want I just want pay reviews to be
- 20:24Speaker 4: on Max. Yeah, that's really all one out of this.
- 20:27Speaker 4: I'm glad that this is that that they that they
- 20:30Speaker 4: are coming to a deal with this, that they're coming
- 20:33Speaker 4: to the end, you know, to possibly announcing a deal.
- 20:36Speaker 4: But I just want them to be on Max w
- 20:39Speaker 4: the the well Now Peacock. But the ww network has
- 20:42Speaker 4: ruined everybody with that, with wanting to go, you know,
- 20:45Speaker 4: wanting their pay per views to be on one streaming
- 20:48Speaker 4: service to where I just have to pay.
- 20:50Speaker 1: One fee a month and I can get them all.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So but AnyWho, we're gonna go ahead and close that
- 20:57Speaker 1: segment out before.
- 20:58Speaker 4: We take our break, though we have on this day
- 21:03Speaker 4: in wrestling history, September twenty second, nineteen eighty, in the
- 21:19Speaker 4: WWF's Madison Square Garden Show, Andre the Giant beat Hulk Hogan.
- 21:24Speaker 1: In the main event via pinfall. This is in nineteen eighty.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it wasn't the original ending. It wasn't. No, it
- 21:31Speaker 3: didn't work for Hogan the original ending. Okay, it was
- 21:38Speaker 3: supposed to be. Andre puts Hogan up on the top
- 21:42Speaker 3: turn buckle. Andre goes up for her Kinnrana, Hogan catches him,
- 21:48Speaker 3: power bombs him, and then it's supposed to be a
- 21:50Speaker 3: double down. That is according to Halk Hogan's biography of
- 21:56Speaker 3: Let's see the book was the largest arms in the world.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Brother Much love hh, Brother Brother, Brother, Brother Brother. I
- 22:05Speaker 3: think that was the original title. That one never get released.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Oh it didn't know, it didn't get released.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Did you get your hands on one though?
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yeah? Okay, it was all part of that. It's all
- 22:19Speaker 3: been part of Forgiveness Tour.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Of twenty four, the Forgiveness Tour of twenty four.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Because if there's anyone who needs to be asking for forgivens,
- 22:28Speaker 3: it's uh, it's the Double H.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Is there much love Hh?
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 22:33Speaker 4: Just sticking with Madison Square Garden and ww September twenty second,
- 22:36Speaker 4: nineteen ninety seven of Raw is held in Madison Square
- 22:39Speaker 4: Garden for the first time in its history and is
- 22:42Speaker 4: notable for two things Dose.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Two Dose.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Firstly, it was the debut of one of Mick Foley's
- 22:48Speaker 4: alter egos, Cactus Jack, my debut on WWWWF programming at
- 22:54Speaker 4: that time, Who beat Triple H in a street fight? Secondly,
- 22:57Speaker 4: it was the first time that Steve Austin hit Vance
- 22:59Speaker 4: mcmah with his famous stunner and kicked off what would
- 23:03Speaker 4: become the historic Austin McMahon feud.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Not the original story for it.
- 23:10Speaker 1: What was the original story?
- 23:12Speaker 3: According to the book, both segments were supposed to feature
- 23:19Speaker 3: Haul Cogan, and it was because Hogan had actually talked
- 23:24Speaker 3: to mcfoley prior to and he said, listen, brother, what
- 23:27Speaker 3: you need is you need to create a pop. And
- 23:30Speaker 3: what's really going to create a pop is if you
- 23:32Speaker 3: bring back that prickly guy that you had in Wcwrick. Yeah,
- 23:38Speaker 3: his name, it was like, I'm pretty sure his name
- 23:41Speaker 3: was like prickle mcjefferson and mcfoley said, Cactus Jack and
- 23:46Speaker 3: he said, yeah, that's the name I just came up
- 23:49Speaker 3: with for you, Jack. And then with the let's see
- 23:55Speaker 3: the Austin McMain feud, originally it was supposed to be
- 23:59Speaker 3: Vince McMahon broke Austin's foot and Hogan said, no, brother,
- 24:07Speaker 3: I've got a better idea for you, since I'm definitely
- 24:11Speaker 3: here in the WWF in nineteen ninety seven and not
- 24:16Speaker 3: in WCW. What you need to have is Austin stun McMahon.
- 24:22Speaker 3: And McMahon said, ah, that's a great idea, Hogan. Thank you.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Where would we be without you, Hulk Hogan? And he said, well,
- 24:30Speaker 3: you wouldn't be anywhere, because I'm Hulk Hogan. Much love, AJH. Oh,
- 24:35Speaker 3: my god, true story.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Just to close us out.
- 24:39Speaker 4: September twenty second, twenty seventeen, ROH Death Before Dishonor came
- 24:43Speaker 4: from Las.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Vegas, Nevada.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Alex Shelley and Chris Saban took the ROH Tag team
- 24:49Speaker 4: titles from the Young Bucks, and the main event saw
- 24:52Speaker 4: Cody Rhodes pen Minorozuzuki to retain the ROH World Heavyweight title.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Funny enough, twenty seventeen Day Old Bucks. Oh, what happened
- 25:03Speaker 3: there was Hogan was at a grocery store and he
- 25:08Speaker 3: saw these two fellas in there doing some flippy stuff
- 25:12Speaker 3: back with eggs, and he said, hey, you two young bucks,
- 25:16Speaker 3: stop that. And that's how Hulk Hogan discovered the Motor
- 25:21Speaker 3: City machine guns.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 25:23Speaker 3: All right, that's going coat.
- 25:25Speaker 1: That's gonna close this right there.
- 25:27Speaker 4: When we come back, ladies and gentlemen, we are going
- 25:29Speaker 4: to talk about the goats of WW We know who
- 25:33Speaker 4: it is.
- 25:34Speaker 5: Well much love, stay tuned. It's time for one of
- 25:45Speaker 5: the grill out here. It's probably worth Jeff.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Petty, welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the grill out.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I'm your host, Hollywood. Jeff Betty and I'm joined by
- 25:56Speaker 1: my illustrious and wonderful to co host Josh co byebye
- 26:04Speaker 1: Bro Predictionsavyweight Champions.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Maybe maybe I don't uh yeah, maybe I'm a fat guy,
- 26:13Speaker 4: so I like food, you.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Know, not a fan of hostess. Yeah, I've to my knowledge,
- 26:19Speaker 3: I've never had a twinkie in my life.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I don't like twinkies never. No, yeah, I don't like twinkies.
- 26:24Speaker 1: That's the most humble man alive.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Uh was it Forgive Forgiveness Tour twenty four, Yes, yes,
- 26:31Speaker 4: that is what I'm I'm currently on and Jason Likens. Ladies, gentlemen,
- 26:35Speaker 4: you're welcome. Yeah, it's it's just you know, the of
- 26:42Speaker 4: course it's twenty twenty four. According to Haul Coked, I
- 26:48Speaker 4: have been researching the Hulkster calendar. It's much like the
- 26:55Speaker 4: Mayan calendar, but more accurate. And yeah, I am on
- 27:04Speaker 4: the Forgiveness Tour twenty twenty four, the year of our
- 27:09Speaker 4: Lord Paul Cogan, Much Love All Right. On episode fifty,
- 27:15Speaker 4: we reported John Cena saying that Roman Rains was the
- 27:18Speaker 4: goat of WW on the Club Sha Shay podcast.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I've We've talked about.
- 27:24Speaker 3: This, which is ridiculous. Roman Reigns is not a goat back.
- 27:29Speaker 3: He is a wonderful wrestler. He is a wonderful entertainer.
- 27:32Speaker 4: He's a much he is a very much improved entertainer.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Yes, we talked about that in the.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Previous I think it is offensive to call him a goat.
- 27:41Speaker 3: That is a barnyard animal.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Okay for those of you like Jason who does not
- 27:46Speaker 4: know what I'm saying When I say goat, I mean
- 27:49Speaker 4: and greatest of all time?
- 27:50Speaker 2: What about a boat?
- 27:53Speaker 1: Best of all time?
- 27:54Speaker 3: Yeah, he could be a boat. You know who was
- 27:57Speaker 3: a great boat? Tug boat?
- 28:00Speaker 1: That's true.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Fredman, God, I love wrestling.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I love pro wrestling. Yeah, so master At, that's is
- 28:13Speaker 1: a shock mass.
- 28:14Speaker 4: The greatest debut, the greatest debut in the history of
- 28:18Speaker 4: professional wrestling, the shock Masterress.
- 28:21Speaker 3: You had a typhoon of charisma.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Oh that was such a great one. But yeah, so
- 28:31Speaker 1: we we we we did report that, and we talked
- 28:33Speaker 1: a little bit there about who we thought the goat
- 28:36Speaker 1: of w W was.
- 28:37Speaker 4: I know that we talked off the air and wanted
- 28:39Speaker 4: to eventually bring this back, like bring us back to
- 28:42Speaker 4: this subject to where we had a more more time
- 28:45Speaker 4: to discuss it. So I just figured, you know it,
- 28:50Speaker 4: the time is now. So yeah, I'm just started making
- 28:57Speaker 4: a strange noise up, I was, I was, I was doing.
- 29:00Speaker 1: His times and yeah, I was doing John Cena. Why Boodoo?
- 29:07Speaker 3: Are you okay?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm fine, I'm perfectly fine.
- 29:09Speaker 3: No, it's just every now and then you're having these
- 29:12Speaker 3: odd noises coming out of your mouth.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Hole.
- 29:16Speaker 3: It's your face hole.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Never mind, never mind?
- 29:19Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:20Speaker 1: The greatest of all time of w W.
- 29:21Speaker 3: How about that calling it the goat of w Yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 3: I mean there's no reason to call it a goat.
- 29:27Speaker 3: There is no goat.
- 29:28Speaker 1: It's an acronym.
- 29:29Speaker 3: There's no goat.
- 29:30Speaker 1: It's who is the great Okay?
- 29:34Speaker 3: No, if we were talking about animals, I mean, sure
- 29:37Speaker 3: we can talk about Daniel Bryan.
- 29:40Speaker 1: He did not like being called a goat.
- 29:42Speaker 3: He is a human being. He is not a goat.
- 29:44Speaker 1: He is somebody that can I'm not saying it. I
- 29:47Speaker 1: was gonna say, kick kick your head in. We'll say that.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm not you can kick your head in.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Yeah. So who who is the greatest of all time
- 29:58Speaker 3: of WW not of all time in w W. Yeah,
- 30:01Speaker 3: the boat, the boat, the boat.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Of w W.
- 30:06Speaker 3: I think the tote the totality of all time.
- 30:11Speaker 2: So who are we having in consideration before we narrow
- 30:13Speaker 2: it this down despite everything outside of wrestling, you probably
- 30:17Speaker 2: have to put Hall Cogan in the conversation.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Yeah, the most of all time, the moat, the moat,
- 30:25Speaker 3: the boat, the goat.
- 30:27Speaker 1: The toat.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Johnsen is definitely in the conversation.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Johnson is definitely in the conversation. I would say Johnson
- 30:36Speaker 4: is in the conversation reman Raines, isn't it?
- 30:38Speaker 3: I mean the coat the coolest of all time?
- 30:42Speaker 1: No, that that's Carly though.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Okay, so what do you what are you looking at
- 30:46Speaker 3: when you say the greatest of all time? Are you
- 30:49Speaker 3: looking at? When lost record are you looking at?
- 30:55Speaker 4: Yeah? I would say I would say total package impact
- 31:01Speaker 4: and what did they accomplish while they were on top
- 31:03Speaker 4: in WWE? Because we when we discussed this before, we
- 31:11Speaker 4: loosely narrowed it down to Michaels. But then you could
- 31:15Speaker 4: make the argument that when Michaels was on top, business
- 31:18Speaker 4: was not good. So he kind of gets a strike there.
- 31:23Speaker 4: You could make an argument because we've been bringing his
- 31:27Speaker 4: name a lot on this up a lot on this episode,
- 31:29Speaker 4: Haul Cogan you can make a strong argument for.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Him, but I think you know, Hogan was.
- 31:38Speaker 4: I don't know if I would call him the goat
- 31:40Speaker 4: of WW. He's definitely, He's definitely synonymous with WWE.
- 31:45Speaker 1: You you can't deny that.
- 31:47Speaker 4: And he inspired an entire generation of professional wrestlers. But
- 31:50Speaker 4: you could say that about Michaels, you can say that
- 31:52Speaker 4: about Austin, you can say that about Sena and and
- 31:55Speaker 4: sooner or later, you're going to say that about Roman Reins.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Well then do you You have to look at the
- 32:00Speaker 3: one person who has something in common with everyone that's
- 32:04Speaker 3: being mentioned, who hasn't been mentioned.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Who would that be?
- 32:08Speaker 3: Vince McMahon.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Oh, that's true.
- 32:13Speaker 2: You The only reason I wouldn't put him in there
- 32:15Speaker 2: is just because, I mean, he has wrestled, but he
- 32:17Speaker 2: is not necessarily a great in ring performer.
- 32:20Speaker 1: That's true.
- 32:21Speaker 3: I disagree. I think for what the what the bar
- 32:27Speaker 3: was with Vince McMahon as an in ring competitor, he
- 32:31Speaker 3: played that wonderfully. Yeah true, And I'm I'm not a
- 32:35Speaker 3: Vince McMahon fan. No, And we choked his own daughter
- 32:39Speaker 3: with a lead pipe, yeah, come on, and.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Just not just not to go down this road, but
- 32:46Speaker 4: all the controversy surrounding events right now, all that to
- 32:49Speaker 4: the side.
- 32:49Speaker 3: No, I'm I'm just looking at contributions to the business.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you could, but it also within the business of
- 32:56Speaker 4: professional wrestling. It depends on who you ask.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Because some PEO people despise what Vince has done. Hey
- 33:04Speaker 1: hate it, They hate that. They hate the.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Business practices that Vince brought in to professional wrestling, how
- 33:10Speaker 4: he poached the territory system, pretty much killed it and
- 33:15Speaker 4: created a monopoly.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I mean, that's you know. I know at one point
- 33:20Speaker 1: his biggest competitor was.
- 33:22Speaker 4: W CW, but he bought them, he did, and he
- 33:26Speaker 4: had a complete monopoly, you could argue up until twenty
- 33:30Speaker 4: nineteen when AW came about.
- 33:33Speaker 1: And even though AW is the is the number two,
- 33:36Speaker 1: and I don't think that they will ever make it
- 33:37Speaker 1: to number one.
- 33:39Speaker 3: No, No, I think number two is very nice to
- 33:43Speaker 3: them right now.
- 33:44Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, but that's but that's a that's a different conversation.
- 33:50Speaker 4: I think that just depends on who.
- 33:51Speaker 1: You ask there.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Okay, so greatest of all time. We're looking at en
- 33:56Speaker 3: ring work impact.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yeah, like star power, drawing power, true, Yeah, I guess
- 34:03Speaker 2: they'll do with it, maybe business impact and.
- 34:06Speaker 4: If we're gonna go with what, uh so, okay instead
- 34:10Speaker 4: of just star power, mainstream appeal.
- 34:13Speaker 3: You'll go with that? We could do mainstream appeal.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Okay, that's like with.
- 34:20Speaker 2: The like tickets seller drawing power into that, I guess.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:23Speaker 4: And if we're gonna if we're going to bring mainstream
- 34:25Speaker 4: appeal into it, that kind of takes Michael's out of
- 34:29Speaker 4: the equations.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Unfortunately, it takes Michaels out of the equation.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Well. Also, here's the thing though, if you if you
- 34:36Speaker 3: just not if you just but if you bring in
- 34:39Speaker 3: mainstream appeal, you're eliminating a bunch of great talent.
- 34:44Speaker 1: That's true.
- 34:46Speaker 3: But if we're looking for an all around total package,
- 34:51Speaker 3: I mean, for me, that kind of almost narrows it
- 34:56Speaker 3: down to three people.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Okay, who would those three people be?
- 35:01Speaker 4: For you?
- 35:03Speaker 3: Reluctantly, Hulk Hogan okay, Steve Austin now and the rock.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Mhmm.
- 35:15Speaker 4: You wouldn't throw Seena in that maybe because personally I would.
- 35:24Speaker 4: I would throw Scene in that.
- 35:26Speaker 1: I would, honestly and as and as as much as
- 35:28Speaker 1: I hate to say this, I would.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Take Austin out.
- 35:33Speaker 4: And if we're gonna go with three, I would take
- 35:35Speaker 4: Austin out and put Sena there. And simply because Austin's
- 35:39Speaker 4: run was not that long, it was extremely impactful. Yeah,
- 35:43Speaker 4: but he was on top of what six years five
- 35:46Speaker 4: six years?
- 35:47Speaker 2: Maybe if that rough?
- 35:49Speaker 3: Yeah, well there was injury circumstances, there was, but also
- 35:53Speaker 3: look at merch sal true. I mean Austin is still
- 35:56Speaker 3: selling merch.
- 35:57Speaker 4: That's that's very true. Okay, you got you gotta kind
- 36:00Speaker 4: of you're convincing me a little bit back to and
- 36:02Speaker 4: also we'll put John Cena in there, okay, and also
- 36:07Speaker 4: with Austin, Let's be honest, if there's a glass shatter.
- 36:13Speaker 1: The crowd's popping every single time to this day, it's
- 36:17Speaker 1: still going to pop.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I think that mainstream of like, sure, he wasn't necessarily
- 36:22Speaker 2: as big as like Rock or Hogan, but I feel
- 36:24Speaker 2: like he's probably more relatable to more people than perhaps
- 36:28Speaker 2: they were.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Most people that I talk to who are not professional
- 36:32Speaker 1: wrestling fans, they know of WW. Yeah, they know three
- 36:37Speaker 1: they really they know three people. They know The Rock,
- 36:40Speaker 1: they know Hault, Cogan, and they know Stone Cold Steve Austin.
- 36:44Speaker 3: That is the three.
- 36:46Speaker 4: Saying you could throw John Cena in that because Sena
- 36:49Speaker 4: with the you know he's yeah with with not not
- 36:53Speaker 4: just with with his Hollywood stuff, but not just with it.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Let's be honest. Scene has been meaned too, I have, Yeah,
- 37:00Speaker 1: I mean the you know you can't see anything has
- 37:03Speaker 1: just been memed to high heaven, and.
- 37:06Speaker 4: That right there, I think does help Sina stay a
- 37:10Speaker 4: little bit in the mainstream, especially with like younger adult
- 37:13Speaker 4: fans such as people around our age.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Roman. I think Roman is getting there, but I don't
- 37:21Speaker 1: think he's there, not yet.
- 37:24Speaker 4: He's he's there, well, he's he's getting there, but once
- 37:27Speaker 4: he steps back more, he gets more.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I guess Hollywood rolls.
- 37:32Speaker 4: More roles and movies and stuff, kind of like the
- 37:34Speaker 4: Rock and Them, you're you'll see more appeal and we
- 37:39Speaker 4: may not, and we may not be able to see
- 37:41Speaker 4: Roman rains.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Is full effect on the business until five years down
- 37:45Speaker 1: the line.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm like. I kind of get what
- 37:48Speaker 2: Seene is saying. At the same time, it feels too
- 37:50Speaker 2: soon to try to throw him in a conversation because
- 37:52Speaker 2: we really need to wait and see down the road
- 37:54Speaker 2: what exactly his impact was for.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Sure exactly, And I think with Sina you could make
- 38:00Speaker 4: a strong argument for him because while business. While the
- 38:05Speaker 4: product itself was not good per se for WWE at
- 38:11Speaker 4: time it was pretty stale, Sena kept it afloat being
- 38:16Speaker 4: on top. Sena like business still was going up with
- 38:22Speaker 4: Seina on top, whether people want to admit that or not,
- 38:26Speaker 4: Like they were able to get to the point to
- 38:28Speaker 4: where they went to a traditional pay per view model
- 38:31Speaker 4: to the WWE network, and now we're to the point
- 38:35Speaker 4: because of that lift off right there, we are now
- 38:37Speaker 4: to the point to where Netflix is going to step
- 38:39Speaker 4: in and take pretty much WWE's flagship show and put
- 38:44Speaker 4: it exclusively on their platform.
- 38:47Speaker 1: And that started with Sena in the mid to mid
- 38:52Speaker 1: to late two thousands.
- 38:55Speaker 3: But to go to the the Hogan argument here, we
- 39:02Speaker 3: keep giggling Ogan's mentioned well because it's also it's not
- 39:05Speaker 3: saying anything negative about it. It's not it's you know, okay, yeah,
- 39:12Speaker 3: So if you if you look at the Hogan argument, Okay,
- 39:16Speaker 3: Hogan didn't have at the time WWF, WWE, Titan Entertainment
- 39:23Speaker 3: pushing movies on him. He had outside studios getting him
- 39:29Speaker 3: to do movies for them.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Very true.
- 39:32Speaker 3: The rock and wrestling movement was based around HAULK. Hogan.
- 39:37Speaker 3: The nineteen eighties, wrestling was HAULK Hogan aka the Golden Era. Yes,
- 39:42Speaker 3: was Hulk Hogan. You know when Hogan left WWF and
- 39:47Speaker 3: went to WCW, that was a big deal. And then
- 39:51Speaker 3: Hogan still had entities coming in for him to do
- 39:55Speaker 3: movies and TV shows.
- 39:57Speaker 2: And honestly, probably w stayed as long as it did
- 40:01Speaker 2: probably cause a Hogan.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and also you know it also kind of ended
- 40:06Speaker 3: up being their demises.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 40:10Speaker 3: It wasn't Hogan. It was more of the creative liberties.
- 40:15Speaker 4: And it wasn't outsaid this and it was it. Hogan
- 40:18Speaker 4: is to blame for that, but it's not just him.
- 40:21Speaker 4: There was a lot of them to blame. And it
- 40:22Speaker 4: came down to the lunatics were running the asylum. And
- 40:25Speaker 4: you know you've we've heard the stories and this has
- 40:27Speaker 4: been covered many times, not so much on this program,
- 40:30Speaker 4: but you can go out and you could find plenty of.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Products out there.
- 40:34Speaker 3: They covered that.
- 40:36Speaker 1: But no, yeah, Hogan going you're right, Hogan going over
- 40:39Speaker 1: to WCW was a huge deal and that was a
- 40:41Speaker 1: big ripple effect over there.
- 40:42Speaker 3: But when you're talking about putting butts in seats, I mean,
- 40:46Speaker 3: how many times was Hogan on the ticket? And that
- 40:50Speaker 3: is what made people buy a ticket.
- 40:53Speaker 1: You're true.
- 40:53Speaker 2: You could almost even throw Brubeo San Martine during like
- 40:57Speaker 2: the sixties because he was so in outmus.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Around every time he was, but he didn't have the
- 41:02Speaker 3: mainste appeal.
- 41:03Speaker 1: That's true. Also, wrestling at that time was sort of
- 41:06Speaker 1: in its infancy. Yeah, we hadn't.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Yeah with I get exactly what you're saying, Jason, because
- 41:13Speaker 4: like and what you're saying, Josh Bruno san Martino was
- 41:16Speaker 4: very impactful for professional wrestling during his time, but yeah,
- 41:21Speaker 4: we didn't go mainstream with wrestling until Hogan.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Access to.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Well and also with you're saying, you know Johnson has
- 41:30Speaker 3: been memed. He has that technology wasn't so much with
- 41:36Speaker 3: the Hogan era. True, But I mean Hogan was, you know,
- 41:40Speaker 3: on countless number of daytime talk shows, the amount of
- 41:43Speaker 3: segments he did with Regis Philburn, you know, he did
- 41:48Speaker 3: countless publicity, so he was kind of in a way memed.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I mean he choked out a talk show.
- 41:59Speaker 1: That's true. That's very true. That was what was Were
- 42:01Speaker 1: they promoting wrestlminging a one for that or.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Quite possibly I think because I know it was Hogan
- 42:07Speaker 3: and mister T.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Yeah, so it probably was, and the.
- 42:11Speaker 3: The host name is fleeing my head at the moment.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's on the tip of my top.
- 42:17Speaker 3: He was also on Law and Order SVU. But the
- 42:22Speaker 3: money that that guy got, he bought a beach house
- 42:25Speaker 3: and named it like Terry Still.
- 42:27Speaker 2: A pay per view around one of his movies, wis
- 42:30Speaker 2: which paper?
- 42:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 42:32Speaker 1: Oh well I didn't know.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they did a pay per view. They did one
- 42:36Speaker 2: match on it and then they showed the movie.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Yeah, because they brought in his name, tiny Lister.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Tiny Lester. Yeah, he played he played Debo on Friday.
- 42:45Speaker 3: Okay, and he did.
- 42:48Speaker 4: He did play Zeus, but he was most known for
- 42:50Speaker 4: playing Debo on Friday. I think you, I mean, you're
- 42:55Speaker 4: making a You're making a solid argument.
- 42:57Speaker 3: For for Hogan. I'm not happy about it.
- 43:01Speaker 2: If one thing, he definitely set the bar.
- 43:05Speaker 4: Yeah, very true, very very good point there. He did
- 43:09Speaker 4: set the bar, and others have have reached that bar
- 43:12Speaker 4: plenty of times. There's been others that have went above
- 43:15Speaker 4: the bar.
- 43:16Speaker 3: I mean he had his own TV show.
- 43:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true, because I mean, as as impactful as
- 43:23Speaker 4: Austin has been. Austin has even said it on his podcast,
- 43:27Speaker 4: he's a hermit. Yeah, he kind of stays to hisself.
- 43:30Speaker 4: He really doesn't go out very much. He's pretty much
- 43:32Speaker 4: he pretty much made his millions left and with the
- 43:36Speaker 4: injuries he had, rightfully, so he deserves it, every bit
- 43:39Speaker 4: of it.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Well. But here's the thing on TikTok, Austin is huge
- 43:42Speaker 3: because of his.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Cats, Austin being a cat out of which we've covered
- 43:47Speaker 1: on this program.
- 43:48Speaker 2: I mean, he's probably been huge without the cats, but
- 43:49Speaker 2: he's even bigger because of the cats.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Yeah, true, true, Like I don't like putting Hogan with
- 43:57Speaker 3: this title, but if you just get impact and name
- 44:02Speaker 3: and ticket droll, it's hard.
- 44:05Speaker 1: To not true, very true. I think I think you're
- 44:10Speaker 1: making a very very solid for that.
- 44:13Speaker 3: And again I'm not happy, and you.
- 44:17Speaker 4: Know, in a way I'm in agreement with you, because
- 44:19Speaker 4: for every other name that we've given out, Austin, Michaels, Rock, Seen, Roman.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Reigns, they have everything but one.
- 44:31Speaker 4: Now the only thing I think you could knock Hogan
- 44:33Speaker 4: on it And it's not even not even that you
- 44:34Speaker 4: can not you can knock him on it, but for this, no, no, no,
- 44:39Speaker 4: there's a lot that we can knock Hogan.
- 44:41Speaker 1: On, but is his in ring work that's really the
- 44:44Speaker 1: only thing that you could knock him on.
- 44:46Speaker 2: That's I wouldn't say it's his fault either. It's more
- 44:48Speaker 2: of Vince's fault.
- 44:49Speaker 4: That's true because if you know, we've mentioned on the program,
- 44:51Speaker 4: before you go over to Japan, you've got to know
- 44:54Speaker 4: how to work, you know, and and go and watch
- 44:57Speaker 4: a Hogan match in Japan.
- 44:59Speaker 1: It it'll blow your mind.
- 45:00Speaker 2: A little bit of bit of Hogan's fault too, it
- 45:03Speaker 2: might not work for him, So that's true.
- 45:05Speaker 4: But it's also like, you know, it's sort of like
- 45:07Speaker 4: the Shinsky Knackamoor thing where he's coming over to ww
- 45:11Speaker 4: because of how hard that style is on your body,
- 45:15Speaker 4: like you don't.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Want to be. Yeah, I mean those dropped toe holds
- 45:18Speaker 3: that Hogan did in Japan, you know, that's what messed
- 45:21Speaker 3: up his knee. Not the eighty years of doing a
- 45:26Speaker 3: leg draw.
- 45:28Speaker 1: That's true, and has any like shrink three inches or something.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Okay, But in fairness though you get older, that happened.
- 45:34Speaker 4: That does and when you do a move like that,
- 45:37Speaker 4: it does compress a little bit back there, like it's
- 45:39Speaker 4: just it's it's going to happen.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Your body, de teria. He should have just stuck with
- 45:44Speaker 1: the true Yeah, all right, so are we? Are we
- 45:48Speaker 1: in agreement?
- 45:49Speaker 4: No?
- 45:50Speaker 2: One thing I will say about Hogan is like during
- 45:52Speaker 2: that time he was he was the face the entire time,
- 45:56Speaker 2: Like during that eighties early nineties, true, there were to
- 45:59Speaker 2: say the rock he came out as a babyface, had
- 46:02Speaker 2: to go heal and then back to babyface, and he.
- 46:04Speaker 4: Kept going back and forth and even while he was there,
- 46:08Speaker 4: if you think about it, he's always had the shared
- 46:09Speaker 4: spotlight with somebody, whether it was with with Austin Seen
- 46:13Speaker 4: It or Roman Reigns.
- 46:15Speaker 1: He's always had to share the spotlight with somebody. And
- 46:20Speaker 1: Michael's like Michael's all around package he has, but he
- 46:25Speaker 1: doesn't have the mainstream appeal.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, if we're looking at just like I
- 46:29Speaker 2: guess technical ability, Michael's probably is right up there.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Yeah, but the total.
- 46:34Speaker 4: Package of like overall things. Yeah, Unfortunately, Michael's getting sknocked
- 46:39Speaker 4: out of that. So all right, who do you think
- 46:44Speaker 4: is the goat of w W? You can email us
- 46:46Speaker 4: to Grill at ninety five at gmail dot com. You
- 46:48Speaker 4: can also message us on Facebook. Can tell us who
- 46:51Speaker 4: you think the goat of w W is.
- 46:52Speaker 1: We might go ahead and put a poll up and
- 46:54Speaker 1: just see what what other people are saying.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Are we going to give our answer?
- 47:00Speaker 1: I I will say this. You have convinced me I
- 47:03Speaker 1: am not happy. I'm not happy. I'm not happy.
- 47:07Speaker 3: It's just if you look at just the facts of it. Reluctantly,
- 47:14Speaker 3: I have to say, Hulk Hogan, Okay, yeah, you know now?
- 47:18Speaker 5: Is it?
- 47:19Speaker 3: Now? Are we looking at the goat of WWF or
- 47:22Speaker 3: ww I.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Say, I say overall all together?
- 47:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Then I have to say Hogan, Yeah.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Okay, I'm in agreement.
- 47:31Speaker 2: I agree with that now like twenty years who knows,
- 47:34Speaker 2: maybe we could be saying rains, but we'll see.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we won't know until much love.
- 47:40Speaker 3: All right, this segment has been brought to you by
- 47:42Speaker 3: Hulk Hogan, who told us that this segment would not
- 47:45Speaker 3: work for me.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Brother.
- 47:49Speaker 4: All right, now we have Wow, the energy has just
- 47:54Speaker 4: been sucked out of this. All right, here we go

- 48:26Speaker 4: There hasn't been any word about Rampage. I'm just assuming
- 48:29Speaker 4: maybe they will because you.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Know, they might be taping it. I don't know.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you know something is being taped with Dynamite, So

- 54:00Speaker 1: Geez, and we got Josh.
- 54:05Speaker 3: I could have kept going, by the way, I know,
- 54:08Speaker 3: I was starting to annoy myself.
- 54:10Speaker 1: We only have a few minutes left in this last
- 54:12Speaker 1: segment anyway.
- 54:13Speaker 4: So.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Who do you think is the coach of w W?
- 54:19Speaker 1: We talked about this, We did well. I'm just I'm
- 54:22Speaker 1: asking the audience, who do they think?
- 54:23Speaker 3: Yeah, they're here? Yeah, yeah? Am I the only one
- 54:28Speaker 3: that can't see them?
- 54:29Speaker 1: It's okay, it's right, Johnson. A lot of a lot
- 54:32Speaker 1: of them are seen the fans.
- 54:34Speaker 4: Mm.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Yeah, who do you think is the goat of w W?
