- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the Hawtrel Energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Happy July. We have a lot to cover because I
- 0:32Speaker 1: feel like one of the biggest life updates that has
- 0:35Speaker 1: happened recently is something that I've had to keep very
- 0:39Speaker 1: quiet for privacy reasons, safety reasons, So that's why I
- 0:44Speaker 1: haven't really shared with you guys what's been fully going on.
- 0:48Speaker 1: But Zach and I sold our house. We've officially sold
- 0:52Speaker 1: our first home, which is very bittersweet. For the past
- 0:57Speaker 1: thirty five days, I think it was on the market
- 0:59Speaker 1: for We've been obviously very low key about it on
- 1:03Speaker 1: social media and all that, because obviously for privacy reasons,
- 1:07Speaker 1: I didn't want my address leaked, even though some people
- 1:10Speaker 1: did actually find it and anyways made sure to let
- 1:14Speaker 1: me know that they had my address, which is just
- 1:16Speaker 1: creepy obviously, like not something that you really want people
- 1:21Speaker 1: to have access to. But anyways, obviously, like we have
- 1:24Speaker 1: a good security system here, so I definitely take our
- 1:28Speaker 1: safety with precaution. But anyways, it's exciting news that we
- 1:33Speaker 1: have officially sold their house, and I feel like it's
- 1:35Speaker 1: been kind of hard to record the podcast, and that's
- 1:38Speaker 1: kind of also. Another reason why I decided to take
- 1:41Speaker 1: a step back is because we had so many showings guys,
- 1:44Speaker 1: and I felt like it happened throughout the week. It
- 1:47Speaker 1: was never on the weekend, I think because with the
- 1:49Speaker 1: summer being in full effect, everybody's doing things on the weekends,
- 1:53Speaker 1: right like cottage weekends, camping, whatever the case may be.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So I feel like all the showings were between Monday
- 1:58Speaker 1: and Friday. And so imagine me on a Wednesday or
- 2:02Speaker 1: Tuesday trying to get a podcast episode up. My house
- 2:05Speaker 1: needs to be spotless. Everything needs to be clean. It
- 2:07Speaker 1: can't look like anyone's lived in the house. Basically, So
- 2:11Speaker 1: every single night before a showing or every single morning,
- 2:14Speaker 1: I would literally spend an hour just like making sure
- 2:16Speaker 1: everything was clean, making sure like our stove wasn't dirty,
- 2:19Speaker 1: that we used for breakfasts in the morning, making sure,
- 2:22Speaker 1: you know, everything was tidy. Vacuums can't have anything out
- 2:26Speaker 1: like my microphone, my work stuff, like my tripod or anything, right,
- 2:30Speaker 1: So it just made it really difficult to like put
- 2:33Speaker 1: that pressure on myself of like, you know, if there
- 2:35Speaker 1: was a showing on a Tuesday at one o'clock, which
- 2:38Speaker 1: is like typically when I record the podcast, it was difficult. Right.
- 2:41Speaker 1: So it's like, Okay, I can't be in the house
- 2:43Speaker 1: for like three hours because I leave an hour before
- 2:46Speaker 1: a showing. The showing's an hour time slot, and then
- 2:49Speaker 1: I usually wait like thirty minutes to forty minutes to
- 2:52Speaker 1: come back, and like there's three hours on my day
- 2:54Speaker 1: right there that I've completely lost. And so that was
- 2:57Speaker 1: kind of another reason why I decided to take a
- 2:58Speaker 1: step back from the podcast was just because it was
- 3:00Speaker 1: too hard to manage work with the showings and also
- 3:05Speaker 1: balance TikTok, Instagram, YouTube. You guys are the gist. But
- 3:08Speaker 1: another reason why I kind of also haven't been that
- 3:10Speaker 1: active on YouTube because again, our house was for sale,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and I feel like we were just running on a
- 3:16Speaker 1: bunch of different things. It's quite a busy time and
- 3:18Speaker 1: I don't know if anyone can relate or if someone
- 3:20Speaker 1: has sold a house ever, but I don't ever want
- 3:23Speaker 1: to do it again. It was awful. I think just
- 3:26Speaker 1: like having to keep the house clean and not really
- 3:30Speaker 1: be here too much. It just was kind of difficult,
- 3:31Speaker 1: and as a routine person, it does kind of suck
- 3:34Speaker 1: not being in your house, Like I felt like I
- 3:36Speaker 1: was constantly going to my parents' house, and that made
- 3:38Speaker 1: it really difficult for someone who literally films their life
- 3:41Speaker 1: in their house. So there was obviously some obstacle courses
- 3:44Speaker 1: that we had to kind of conquer. But on the
- 3:48Speaker 1: bright side, it's sold and we are very very happy
- 3:52Speaker 1: with the couple that bought it, and on to the
- 3:55Speaker 1: next step. Guys, we're officially waiting for the new house. Thankfully,
- 3:59Speaker 1: we were able to make the closing date of this
- 4:02Speaker 1: house close to our new house date, so it's kind
- 4:06Speaker 1: of nice that we won't have to like live somewhere
- 4:09Speaker 1: for a short period of time before moving into the
- 4:11Speaker 1: new house. So it's kind of nice that we have
- 4:14Speaker 1: that all figured out as well. So I haven't told anyone,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and I haven't honestly shared anything on social media yet.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I'm kind of just keeping it between us, which is
- 4:22Speaker 1: here on the podcast. I'm not going to share it
- 4:24Speaker 1: on Instagram and TikTok probably till the soul sign is
- 4:27Speaker 1: on our real estate sign at the front of our house,
- 4:31Speaker 1: but just wanted to let you guys know because I
- 4:33Speaker 1: always try and let the podcast girlies know the inside
- 4:36Speaker 1: scoop before everyone else does, because you guys are my girls,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and I just felt like I should share it with
- 4:41Speaker 1: you guys. Besides selling our house, I've been watching Love
- 4:44Speaker 1: Island literally every single day, and I'm beyond hooked. Guys.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I thought I wasn't going to love it. Like the
- 4:50Speaker 1: first few episodes, I was kind of like, this is boring.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I don't really see the hype. I don't know what
- 4:55Speaker 1: everyone's talking about. And then Kasamore hit and boom, I
- 4:59Speaker 1: just got locked in. The drama started the hype between
- 5:04Speaker 1: just like loving certain couples and like feeling sad for
- 5:08Speaker 1: the couples that didn't, you know, end up staying together
- 5:11Speaker 1: and whatever. Like I have actually like gotten hooked and
- 5:14Speaker 1: have like definitely have like a motion towards certain couples
- 5:18Speaker 1: where I'm like, I love this couple, I hate this couple,
- 5:20Speaker 1: I hate this guy, I love this girl. Like I
- 5:23Speaker 1: feel like I'm like finding like people that I like
- 5:26Speaker 1: and people that I dislike. And anyways, the whole show
- 5:29Speaker 1: is a very interesting concept This is my first time
- 5:32Speaker 1: ever watching Love Island, and I didn't really know what
- 5:34Speaker 1: to expect. To be honest, a lot of PDA it's
- 5:37Speaker 1: kind of crazy, and I'm not typically into those shows,
- 5:40Speaker 1: but I do love reality TV when it comes to
- 5:43Speaker 1: like drama all that. I used to watch Big Brother
- 5:46Speaker 1: all the time and just kind of like fell out
- 5:48Speaker 1: of love with it. So I feel like this is
- 5:49Speaker 1: kind of like a good replacement for that type of
- 5:52Speaker 1: reality TV show, you know, still having like somewhat competitions
- 5:55Speaker 1: and relationships and all that. So I don't know, I
- 5:59Speaker 1: feel like I'm deaf hooked on it now. I wasn't
- 6:01Speaker 1: maybe two weeks ago, but now I'm definitely loving the
- 6:05Speaker 1: show so far, and I'm hooked. So I love that
- 6:08Speaker 1: there's a new episode basically every single night. I feel
- 6:10Speaker 1: like that's super fun. Zach is also hooked. I don't
- 6:13Speaker 1: think he would ever admit that to people, but he's
- 6:15Speaker 1: one hundred percent hooked. He will not let me watch
- 6:17Speaker 1: an episode without him, which is so funny because he
- 6:20Speaker 1: obviously has activities that he does, like he runs some
- 6:23Speaker 1: softball teams, and I'm like, oh, I want to watch
- 6:26Speaker 1: this tonight, and He's like, well, no, I have a
- 6:28Speaker 1: softball game. I'm like, oh my god, I can't even
- 6:31Speaker 1: watch the episode without him. He said, well, yeah, you
- 6:33Speaker 1: have to wait for me. So I just find it
- 6:35Speaker 1: funny how our husbands and boyfriends say they're not into
- 6:39Speaker 1: something and then as soon as they realize that they
- 6:41Speaker 1: actually like the show, it's like, Nope, you can't watch
- 6:44Speaker 1: it without me. You gotta watch it with me. Anyways,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I just find it funny. But anyways, if you're looking
- 6:48Speaker 1: for something to get into, maybe tryout Love Island again.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I wasn't sure in the beginning. It was kind of skeptical,
- 6:54Speaker 1: but now I'm hooked and I've been loving it. Also,
- 6:57Speaker 1: this has been so random, guys, and I don't feel
- 7:00Speaker 1: like I ever feel this waste this early on in
- 7:02Speaker 1: the summer. And I don't know if it's because we've
- 7:04Speaker 1: had such hot weather lately, but I can't stop thinking
- 7:08Speaker 1: about Fall. I can't stop thinking about pumpkins, the leaves changing,
- 7:13Speaker 1: thinking about like home decor shopping during the fall season.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Like fall I think is honestly my favorite season. Like
- 7:19Speaker 1: the more I think about it, I think I talk
- 7:21Speaker 1: about summer so much on here and like looking forward
- 7:23Speaker 1: to it. Obviously, like, I have shitty winters here, so
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'm always like looking forward to the warmer weather. And
- 7:29Speaker 1: obviously I love summer with a tan. Okay, summer and
- 7:31Speaker 1: fall are definitely my two favorite seasons. But there's something
- 7:34Speaker 1: about fall that I think about that brings me so
- 7:37Speaker 1: much comfort. I just I don't know. I think it's
- 7:39Speaker 1: the foods. I think it's the time of year. I
- 7:41Speaker 1: feel like everything slows down right. Summer is so fast paced,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and I feel like there's always so much going on,
- 7:47Speaker 1: so with like weddings and things going on with your friends,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and obviously I'm moving this summer, so I feel like
- 7:51Speaker 1: there's like a lot going on. And I think about
- 7:54Speaker 1: Fall and I'm like, oh, it feels like such a slow,
- 7:56Speaker 1: comforting time. Going to the farmers' markets, going on those walks.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It's not as hot, just a little bit chilly. You know.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Some of those favorite things I love to watch, like
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know, Gilmore Girls, Vampire Diaries, Twilight, like those all
- 8:09Speaker 1: kind of have like the fall setting. I can't believe
- 8:12Speaker 1: I'm talking about this before July, like or in July,
- 8:15Speaker 1: as you guys are listening to this, which I find
- 8:17Speaker 1: so funny because I feel like I'm not usually talking
- 8:19Speaker 1: about Fall step until August, but I do not know
- 8:22Speaker 1: why I'm so excited. I am so freaking excited for September.
- 8:26Speaker 1: September first is officially Fall in my mind, and yeah,
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'm so excited. So random, I know, and no one
- 8:32Speaker 1: come at me for talking about Fall here, but I
- 8:35Speaker 1: am actually really excited and I think it's gonna be
- 8:39Speaker 1: a great Fall season. We have a fun episode topic
- 8:41Speaker 1: for today's episode. I really wanted to talk about tips
- 8:45Speaker 1: on feeling hotter and just honestly becoming richer. I think
- 8:49Speaker 1: that's two things that all girls, and honestly probably meant
- 8:53Speaker 1: as well, strive for. So I really wanted to talk
- 8:55Speaker 1: about tips on feeling hotter and getting richer, and not
- 8:58Speaker 1: because either one to determines your worth, but because taking
- 9:02Speaker 1: care of yourself and building financial security tends to make
- 9:06Speaker 1: every area of your life better. Okay, let's be honest,
- 9:09Speaker 1: Like your confidence is better, you feel hotter, you feel richer,
- 9:13Speaker 1: Like of course, you're going to see your life thrive,
- 9:15Speaker 1: and you're going to feel like you're thriving in that
- 9:18Speaker 1: moment when all these good things are happening to you.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So we're going to kind of talk about some things
- 9:23Speaker 1: that I personally think are great tips to maybe help
- 9:27Speaker 1: you out with either finding a new job or finding
- 9:30Speaker 1: a side hustle to you know, financially put you in
- 9:32Speaker 1: a better situation, or things that might make your confidence
- 9:36Speaker 1: feel higher and just yourself feel hotter in general, and
- 9:40Speaker 1: being hot isn't all about the physical. Of course, we
- 9:43Speaker 1: all want to physically look our hottest, but it's also
- 9:46Speaker 1: within right, it's also about the competence, the energy, the style,
- 9:50Speaker 1: how you want to carry yourself. There's so much more
- 9:53Speaker 1: around being hotter than just our physical appearance. It's so
- 9:56Speaker 1: much deeper. So we're going to start off with ways
- 9:59Speaker 1: to get rich because there's a few things that you
- 10:01Speaker 1: can do, a few things that you could do yourself
- 10:05Speaker 1: with your current situation, whether it's your current job or
- 10:09Speaker 1: your current income, or ways that we could maybe add
- 10:13Speaker 1: on to what we're making now by doing things differently,
- 10:16Speaker 1: by finding side hustles, by figuring out, you know, skills
- 10:20Speaker 1: that involve a high income earning. So starting off with
- 10:25Speaker 1: increasing your income instead of only trying to save money,
- 10:28Speaker 1: so you can increase your income by either changing your job.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Maybe you're not in love with what you're doing right now,
- 10:35Speaker 1: and you've considered trying to find maybe a job that
- 10:38Speaker 1: has a higher income, higher salary. So there's nothing wrong
- 10:43Speaker 1: with keeping your current job, and you know, looking on
- 10:48Speaker 1: indeed or anything like that for current job listings, and
- 10:51Speaker 1: if there's something that catches your eye that is, you know,
- 10:54Speaker 1: a higher pay than what you're making now that you
- 10:56Speaker 1: think is very similar, or something that you have a
- 10:58Speaker 1: lot of passion towards, there's nothing wrong with continuing to
- 11:02Speaker 1: look for jobs. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I feel like that's a very common thing that people do.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Is the odd time they'll just check to see if
- 11:08Speaker 1: there's something better, and if there isn't, not a big deal,
- 11:10Speaker 1: you keep doing what you're doing. So that definitely something
- 11:13Speaker 1: to always keep your eye on. If you're someone that
- 11:15Speaker 1: doesn't love what they're doing in the current moment, or
- 11:17Speaker 1: looking to again earn a little bit more income than
- 11:20Speaker 1: you're currently doing now, there's literally nothing wrong with that.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Saving is also another important thing. I feel like my
- 11:27Speaker 1: parents taught me how to save and just be really
- 11:30Speaker 1: smart with my money since the beginning. I remember when
- 11:33Speaker 1: I got my first job at Michael Core's and I
- 11:36Speaker 1: was a greeter and I made like very little money.
- 11:40Speaker 1: But my mom always told me, like, you don't need
- 11:42Speaker 1: to have xyzmount in your checking's account all the freaking time.
- 11:46Speaker 1: She's like, you only need, you know, xyzmount for you know,
- 11:50Speaker 1: this to last you for the next two weeks, because
- 11:53Speaker 1: I got paid every two weeks. So she's like, you know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: pay your phone bill, pay your car bill, and have
- 11:59Speaker 1: a little bit of money for your groceries and you
- 12:01Speaker 1: know the odd maybe clothing purchase or going out for
- 12:04Speaker 1: dinner and the rest. Put it in your savings account.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Like That's how I was raised, and to this day,
- 12:10Speaker 1: it's something that I stick to where I'm like, I
- 12:11Speaker 1: don't need all this money in my checking's account. I
- 12:13Speaker 1: always put things in my savings. I invest. I do
- 12:16Speaker 1: everything that I can to not add the money in
- 12:19Speaker 1: my checking I just try and put it in other areas.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I obviously invest in like a lot of RSPs because
- 12:25Speaker 1: I'm self employed, so that's a huge, huge thing for me,
- 12:28Speaker 1: and you know, I can earn a percentage of putting
- 12:31Speaker 1: it in certain things that I put in for banking purposes.
- 12:35Speaker 1: So anyways, that's a deeper conversation, but I try my
- 12:38Speaker 1: best to be really really smart with my money. And
- 12:40Speaker 1: I think that's something that girls should really learn, is
- 12:44Speaker 1: how to be smart with your money, because that's what's
- 12:47Speaker 1: going to create more success for yourself if you're smart
- 12:49Speaker 1: with your money, choose how you spend your money wisely.
- 12:52Speaker 1: You know. I see a lot of girls sometimes like
- 12:55Speaker 1: buy the expensive car and like waste their money on that,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and then they're, you know, having a hard time still
- 13:00Speaker 1: living the life that they want to live. Right Like
- 13:02Speaker 1: if they're the kind of girl that wants the luxury
- 13:04Speaker 1: car but they still want to go traveling and going
- 13:07Speaker 1: out for dinners with your friends all the times and
- 13:08Speaker 1: all that, but you can't afford both, then it's a
- 13:11Speaker 1: waste of money. Like why are we doing this all
- 13:12Speaker 1: to have that BMW or that Range Rover or that
- 13:16Speaker 1: whatever the car that you wanted, Like you have to
- 13:18Speaker 1: make sure that financially, does it make sense? Is it
- 13:20Speaker 1: a smart decision for me to you know, finance or
- 13:24Speaker 1: own a luxury vehicle and still be able to do
- 13:27Speaker 1: those fun things that I want to do, right Like,
- 13:29Speaker 1: any time you make a big purchase, especially right now
- 13:32Speaker 1: with our house, Like before we bought our house, we knew, okay,
- 13:36Speaker 1: what is our ballpark in terms of budget of what
- 13:38Speaker 1: we're willing to spend, Because at the end of the day,
- 13:41Speaker 1: I don't want to be house poor. I don't want
- 13:42Speaker 1: to be car poor. Like, you have to put yourself
- 13:45Speaker 1: in smart financial decisions to not put yourself at risk
- 13:49Speaker 1: with not being able to still continue living your life.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Like you want to be able to balance everything. You
- 13:54Speaker 1: want to still be able to travel, you want to
- 13:56Speaker 1: still be able to have fun things happen with your friends.
- 13:59Speaker 1: You don't want to be that. And that's like, hey, yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 1: I can't afford it because I decided to spend all
- 14:03Speaker 1: my money on my car, or I decided to spend
- 14:05Speaker 1: all my money on this, Like, don't get a luxury car.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Get the car that you can afford. That way you
- 14:10Speaker 1: can still do the fun things with your friends. It's
- 14:12Speaker 1: all about balance. It's all about just being smart with
- 14:15Speaker 1: your money. And I think that's just so so important
- 14:18Speaker 1: to learn from the beginning, because that alone will allow
- 14:20Speaker 1: you to feel richer because you're being smart, You're not
- 14:23Speaker 1: being stupid. You're putting your money in the right spot
- 14:26Speaker 1: and not wasting it on something that you don't think
- 14:29Speaker 1: you can afford. Right, So So just learning about the
- 14:32Speaker 1: proper financial situation that you're in and saving the right way,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I think is going to take you a really long way.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Another idea to get richer is start a side hustle.
- 14:41Speaker 1: So if there's a hobby that you love or a
- 14:43Speaker 1: skill that you've developed throughout the years of life that
- 14:46Speaker 1: you've always imagined starting a side business and just selling
- 14:50Speaker 1: things on the side. And it could be selling things
- 14:52Speaker 1: on the Facebook marketplace, it could be starting a poshmark
- 14:54Speaker 1: account and selling clothing like it could literally be anything.
- 14:57Speaker 1: One idea is starting a cake business. If you love
- 15:01Speaker 1: baking cakes and you're really good at it, well, there
- 15:03Speaker 1: are so many people out there that go on Facebook
- 15:05Speaker 1: marketplace to find someone to design a birthday cake or
- 15:09Speaker 1: an anniversary cake, whatever the case may be, and people
- 15:12Speaker 1: will pay you to do that, right, So you can
- 15:14Speaker 1: totally create a side hustle by dedicating time in your
- 15:18Speaker 1: evenings or weekends to do this and that again is
- 15:22Speaker 1: a great way to make side hustle money. With my situation,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I really treated my social media as my side hustle,
- 15:29Speaker 1: so I really did not think it was going to
- 15:30Speaker 1: be a full time thing. In the beginning, I thought
- 15:33Speaker 1: I love doing this. I love watching other people do this,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Like this would be so great if I could make
- 15:38Speaker 1: this my full time thing. But we'll just do this
- 15:40Speaker 1: for fun on the side and see where it takes me. Right.
- 15:43Speaker 1: So I was working my full time job, and I
- 15:45Speaker 1: was finding every hour of my weekend and every hour
- 15:48Speaker 1: of my evening spending all this time editing content, filming content,
- 15:52Speaker 1: and continuing so on doing that and being consistent with it.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I started to get small brand deals, and I started
- 15:57Speaker 1: to get people reach out to me, and then eventually
- 15:59Speaker 1: it got to the point where it became so busy
- 16:01Speaker 1: where I had a management team reach out to me
- 16:02Speaker 1: and wanting to sign me. And that's when I knew, okay,
- 16:05Speaker 1: this could become a full time thing. Like this side
- 16:08Speaker 1: hustle that I was doing for a few months became
- 16:11Speaker 1: a lot bigger than I expected it to be, and
- 16:13Speaker 1: that's amazing, And like, who knows that could be the
- 16:16Speaker 1: same for you. If you're a huge cake lover. Who
- 16:19Speaker 1: knows you could sell a bunch of cakes on Facebook
- 16:21Speaker 1: marketplace and then suddenly you could start your own cake
- 16:23Speaker 1: business and you're owning your own cake shop, Like you
- 16:25Speaker 1: have no idea where life can take you. But I
- 16:27Speaker 1: do think turning your passions into business or turning you
- 16:30Speaker 1: know skills that you're really good at into income is
- 16:34Speaker 1: worth a shot. So don't be afraid to try something different,
- 16:36Speaker 1: try something new, because it could really bring some good
- 16:40Speaker 1: luck your way. And you know, obviously, like getting more
- 16:43Speaker 1: money is great, and getting more money of doing something
- 16:46Speaker 1: that you truly love and enjoy makes things even more
- 16:49Speaker 1: enjoyable and more exciting and allows more opportunities to come.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I also think it's great that there's so many podcasts
- 16:56Speaker 1: and books that you could read or listen to that
- 16:59Speaker 1: would really really help you learn about money again, learn
- 17:03Speaker 1: about how you can make more money increase your income.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I think it just allows you to realize what's most
- 17:10Speaker 1: important for yourself. And I think it's a great way
- 17:13Speaker 1: to educate yourself too, So I think listening to podcasts
- 17:16Speaker 1: is great. I've listened to a few financial podcasts myself
- 17:19Speaker 1: that are more like in the business side of things.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I can link some of the ones that I've listened to.
- 17:24Speaker 1: But I do think it's really really good to educate yourself,
- 17:28Speaker 1: and honestly, just hear hearing people like that talk about
- 17:32Speaker 1: it is so inspiring and so motivational I find, so
- 17:36Speaker 1: definitely do your own research, but I do think reading
- 17:39Speaker 1: books around this and kind of going back to the saving,
- 17:42Speaker 1: but spending your money intentionally instead of emotionally. So just
- 17:45Speaker 1: being smart with your money in general, I think is
- 17:47Speaker 1: the key thing to take out of this as well.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Because don't get me wrong, of course I want to
- 17:52Speaker 1: drop all my money on a Chanel handbag that literally
- 17:55Speaker 1: costs fifteen thousand dollars, But to me, that's not smart,
- 17:58Speaker 1: Like why would I waste fifteen thousand dollars on a
- 18:00Speaker 1: Chanelle handbag when I can put that money towards my
- 18:03Speaker 1: new house. So, like there's things that I get if
- 18:06Speaker 1: people can do if they're in the financial situation to
- 18:08Speaker 1: do so, or the whole burken situation. I don't even
- 18:11Speaker 1: know how much a burkin is at Armes, but like,
- 18:13Speaker 1: people will spend the money on handbags, and if you
- 18:16Speaker 1: weren't in the financial situation to do so, I love
- 18:18Speaker 1: that for you. I think that's great. I think that's
- 18:20Speaker 1: every girl's dream. Some people it's not their dreams. Some
- 18:23Speaker 1: people don't care about handbags, and that's fine, But you know,
- 18:25Speaker 1: if you're the kind of girl that like wants that dream,
- 18:27Speaker 1: you can do it. But if you want to be
- 18:29Speaker 1: smart with your money in your current situation in life,
- 18:33Speaker 1: if you think it's stupid for you to buy that
- 18:35Speaker 1: handbag right now, then don't do it. Like put your
- 18:38Speaker 1: money in your savings. And if you want to go
- 18:41Speaker 1: on a big European trip, let's say, then I would
- 18:45Speaker 1: rather you paid that fifteen thousand dollars on a trip
- 18:47Speaker 1: versus handbag. Like I mean, I'm not saying the trip's
- 18:49Speaker 1: going to cost you fifteen thousand dollars, you know what
- 18:50Speaker 1: I mean though, But like it would probably be like,
- 18:53Speaker 1: you know, let's say five grand for like the flights, food, accommodations,
- 18:58Speaker 1: add all that up going to Europe verse fifteen thousand
- 19:01Speaker 1: dollars that you would spend on a Burkein or Chanel big,
- 19:03Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So it's like it's probably
- 19:05Speaker 1: smarter to do that and spend your money on a handbag.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So obviously that's just a very broad example, but the
- 19:11Speaker 1: point is that, like you can be smarter with your
- 19:13Speaker 1: money decisions. If you don't think it's worth it, don't
- 19:15Speaker 1: spend your money on it. Just put your money on
- 19:18Speaker 1: things that you are intentional with and things that you
- 19:20Speaker 1: personally think are worth investing in. All right, now, let's
- 19:23Speaker 1: talk about ways to get hotter. So we're gonna kind
- 19:26Speaker 1: of mix us up with a bit of competence and
- 19:29Speaker 1: also just like physically feeling hotter, because I think a
- 19:32Speaker 1: lot of people obviously want to physically feel their hot
- 19:35Speaker 1: ast self, right, So one thing that I always strive
- 19:37Speaker 1: here on the podcast is really building a workout routine
- 19:40Speaker 1: for yourself. I personally think the combination of strength training
- 19:44Speaker 1: and pilates is, in my opinion, the ideal world of
- 19:49Speaker 1: a girl that wants to feel her fittest self feel
- 19:53Speaker 1: tone also just like feel her hottest self. I saw
- 19:56Speaker 1: an interview with Haley Beaver recently and she did say
- 19:59Speaker 1: that pilates a little overhyped, but she still includes it
- 20:02Speaker 1: in her routine. So I think Haley is that kind
- 20:04Speaker 1: of girl where she really does combine to her strength
- 20:06Speaker 1: training with her biloates, because I can tell based off
- 20:10Speaker 1: of her personal training videos that I've seen that she
- 20:12Speaker 1: does incorporate strength training, and it goes to show that
- 20:15Speaker 1: it's like if you want that lean muscle, if you
- 20:17Speaker 1: want that you know, toned look. I do think it's
- 20:21Speaker 1: a combination of multiple things. It's not just one, but
- 20:25Speaker 1: you can also be the kind of girl it doesn't
- 20:26Speaker 1: like either of those things and you're more of a
- 20:28Speaker 1: cardio girl. That's amazing. If you love to do cardio,
- 20:31Speaker 1: that's great. Like everyone has their own thing that works
- 20:34Speaker 1: for their body. There's not like a specific thing that
- 20:36Speaker 1: works for everyone. I just think it, in my opinion,
- 20:39Speaker 1: if you want like the best of both worlds to
- 20:41Speaker 1: feel and look muscular tone, get that like physique that
- 20:45Speaker 1: you've wanted. I do think strength training is so important.
- 20:48Speaker 1: It's something that I've definitely lacked these past few years.
- 20:51Speaker 1: And I can honestly tell you know, I put so
- 20:53Speaker 1: much love into pilates for a little too long, which
- 20:56Speaker 1: I don't regret, but now I've kind of cut it
- 20:59Speaker 1: back a bit and really focused on both because I
- 21:01Speaker 1: do think strength training is so important, especially like for
- 21:04Speaker 1: my whole back injury. It's literally because I wasn't strength training,
- 21:07Speaker 1: like that's one reason, and I'm like, I need to
- 21:10Speaker 1: just get back into lifting weights, and honestly, I just
- 21:14Speaker 1: want to have the strongest back ever. That's my goal.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I want to have like a six pack off my back.
- 21:18Speaker 1: That is something that I've always wanted, So I'm like,
- 21:21Speaker 1: we're really making this a priority this year and getting
- 21:24Speaker 1: back into strength training. Another thing is eating protein, eating
- 21:28Speaker 1: enough food. I think there's so many girls that think
- 21:31Speaker 1: eating less is what's going to give you that lean
- 21:33Speaker 1: and like perfect physique. Look take it from a girl
- 21:36Speaker 1: here who literally went through that herself. I used to
- 21:39Speaker 1: skip meals all the time as a kid. I had
- 21:41Speaker 1: a really bad food journey, which I've shared from the
- 21:43Speaker 1: podcast in a different episode. But I've had my fair
- 21:46Speaker 1: share of like cutting out carbs, eating less food, not
- 21:50Speaker 1: really eating enough protein, and my results were not really good.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It was actually really unhealthy. So hot girls need to
- 21:57Speaker 1: know that it's hot to eat food. Food. Okay, that's
- 22:00Speaker 1: what's gonna give you that muscle, that's what's gonna make
- 22:02Speaker 1: you look lean, that's what's gonna make you look hot.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Eat the carbs, eat the protein. It's so so important
- 22:09Speaker 1: to see food as fuel and it just builds so
- 22:12Speaker 1: much muscle and makes you feel so much better. So
- 22:15Speaker 1: we're all about eating protein and eating enough food here
- 22:18Speaker 1: and eating things that you enjoy and love and all
- 22:20Speaker 1: about balance, because I think that's so crucial into also
- 22:23Speaker 1: feeling good. With yourself, because if you're avoiding certain foods
- 22:27Speaker 1: and like not eating out with your friends, like again,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you're missing out on opportunities, fun memories, fun moments, all
- 22:33Speaker 1: because you decided you didn't want to eat out. Like, no,
- 22:36Speaker 1: we're not about that here. It's all about balance, and
- 22:39Speaker 1: you're still gonna see results from eating that cheeseburger or
- 22:42Speaker 1: eating that pizza the odd time. It's not gonna ruin
- 22:44Speaker 1: your progress. So just make sure you keep that in
- 22:47Speaker 1: your mind, because you got to live life too. This
- 22:50Speaker 1: one is so crucial, and I didn't really realize how
- 22:52Speaker 1: important it was until I was currently living with it.
- 22:55Speaker 1: But taking care of your hair and getting it done
- 22:57Speaker 1: ever so often. I have not gotten a hair cut, guys,
- 23:00Speaker 1: in six months. Six months, Okay, I have not gone
- 23:03Speaker 1: to my hair salon that long because I purposely waited
- 23:06Speaker 1: to book my hair appointment before my portual trip. Obviously,
- 23:09Speaker 1: I'm not going to Portugal now with my dad going
- 23:11Speaker 1: through surgery, so my hairdresser books really far in advance,
- 23:15Speaker 1: so unfortunately there's nothing sooner. But I think it's in
- 23:17Speaker 1: two weeks, which is not terrible, but I'm like, I
- 23:20Speaker 1: cannot wait to get my hair cut done because I
- 23:22Speaker 1: think my hair just like needs a refresh, and I
- 23:25Speaker 1: think that's something that we don't think about too much.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I think we overlook that and you don't realize how
- 23:31Speaker 1: important your hair is until you're currently in this situation
- 23:33Speaker 1: where you're like, oh my god, my hair looks rady.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, my hair needs to be done. It
- 23:37Speaker 1: needs a hair mask, it needs some hydration, it needs
- 23:40Speaker 1: anything besides what it's going through now. So I think, really,
- 23:44Speaker 1: you know, going to those appointments every three months, I
- 23:48Speaker 1: think is so crucial because it really does make a
- 23:50Speaker 1: huge difference in how you feel and honestly your appearance.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Like I think for me, I'm like in desperate need
- 23:57Speaker 1: of getting my hair done, and I just know the
- 23:58Speaker 1: day I have my appointment and I get that chop
- 24:01Speaker 1: and I get that gloss, I'm going to be the
- 24:04Speaker 1: happiest girl ever and I'm going to feel ten times
- 24:06Speaker 1: o her. This one here is actually something that I
- 24:08Speaker 1: feel like not enough people talk about, and it really
- 24:10Speaker 1: does make a huge difference on how you feel and
- 24:13Speaker 1: how you look. But improving your posture like standing up straighter,
- 24:18Speaker 1: you know, not having your shoulders hunched over. I grew
- 24:21Speaker 1: up as the tallest girl in my class, the tallest
- 24:24Speaker 1: girl out of my friends from like grade four to
- 24:28Speaker 1: like high school, and I just always remember my mom
- 24:31Speaker 1: was like, killie, you're hunching, killing you're hunting. Like I'd
- 24:33Speaker 1: always curl my shoulders down because I felt like my
- 24:36Speaker 1: friends were so short that I kind of like had
- 24:37Speaker 1: to like hunch a bit to like, I don't know
- 24:40Speaker 1: fit in. I have no idea, to be honest. Now,
- 24:42Speaker 1: I've like worked so hard at keeping my postures so well,
- 24:47Speaker 1: and I feel like I'm constantly like keeping my shoulders back.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I'm like, I can catch myself when I'm hunting now,
- 24:52Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, no, posture, got to keep that
- 24:54Speaker 1: in check. But I feel like when you see a
- 24:55Speaker 1: beautiful girl and you see her standing up straight, and
- 24:59Speaker 1: like you can just tell her posture and body language
- 25:01Speaker 1: is like so beautiful. It makes a huge difference. I
- 25:05Speaker 1: don't know, I feel like that's something a lot of
- 25:06Speaker 1: people don't talk about, but it really does make you
- 25:09Speaker 1: feel more confident and just hotter in general when you
- 25:13Speaker 1: have good posture. Another thing is walking every single day.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I feel good just getting a walk in every single morning,
- 25:20Speaker 1: knowing that I've gotten my steps in I've actually decided
- 25:23Speaker 1: to create a challenge for myself for July. If anybody
- 25:26Speaker 1: wants to join, they can join. But I am starting
- 25:29Speaker 1: a challenge where I'm going to start doing ten k
- 25:31Speaker 1: steps before ten am, which sounds crazy, but it is
- 25:34Speaker 1: very attainable, okay, And I'm going to share it with
- 25:37Speaker 1: you guys in some content that I'll film throughout the
- 25:39Speaker 1: month of July. But I love walking so much. I
- 25:42Speaker 1: think it's so underrated. I think you don't need to,
- 25:45Speaker 1: you know, kill yourself in cardioclasses. You could literally just
- 25:50Speaker 1: walk ten kse steps to day and get such great results.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And I think walking is so underrated, even though yeah
- 25:56Speaker 1: it's not, it's literally the best thing ever. I feel
- 25:58Speaker 1: like it's something that likes would talk about all the time,
- 26:01Speaker 1: just saying you just need to walk, you just need
- 26:03Speaker 1: to walk, Like, yeah, I feel like walking is so
- 26:05Speaker 1: so important. My nan Na, she's eighty five years old
- 26:09Speaker 1: and she does not own a car. She walks to
- 26:12Speaker 1: the bus stop every single day, and she'll walk to
- 26:14Speaker 1: the grocery store. She'll do all of her walking, and
- 26:17Speaker 1: I swear she is so freaking healthy, and I know
- 26:22Speaker 1: it's because of all her walking like she's never owned
- 26:24Speaker 1: a car in her life. She literally was born in Italy,
- 26:26Speaker 1: was there for twenty five years of her life, moved
- 26:28Speaker 1: to Canada and just never owned a car. She's like, Nope,
- 26:31Speaker 1: I don't need it. I can walk around and like
- 26:34Speaker 1: to this day, I'm like, I swear it's because she
- 26:37Speaker 1: walks everywhere, Like I don't know, I just I think
- 26:40Speaker 1: it's a thing. I think walking is so important at
- 26:42Speaker 1: any age, and I'm gonna be walking ten k steps
- 26:46Speaker 1: every single day for the rest of my life. That's
- 26:47Speaker 1: my goal in life. Another thing to feel hotter is
- 26:50Speaker 1: figuring out your style. I think fashion is such a
- 26:53Speaker 1: crucial part of your identity. I think so many people
- 26:56Speaker 1: kind of lose the plot of like how they want
- 26:59Speaker 1: to dress them So, of course we see so many
- 27:02Speaker 1: different types of fashion on TikTok and social media, and
- 27:05Speaker 1: I think a lot of people just get sucked into
- 27:08Speaker 1: trends and are just buying things that they're seeing other
- 27:10Speaker 1: people wear, but they're not really like figuring out like
- 27:12Speaker 1: what they feel is best for themselves and what they
- 27:15Speaker 1: feel the most competent in. And I think that's a
- 27:17Speaker 1: huge thing when it comes to competence it's like being
- 27:20Speaker 1: able to wear something that you feel extremely comfortable in
- 27:22Speaker 1: and you feel extremely competent in. I feel like I
- 27:25Speaker 1: used to be that kind of person where I would
- 27:27Speaker 1: just fall for trends, buy whatever my favorite influencer or
- 27:31Speaker 1: girl that I admire, like celebrities and such, and you know,
- 27:34Speaker 1: wear it in myself, but I wouldn't feel confident in it.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I would just wear it because I thought it was
- 27:38Speaker 1: cool and what other people were, you know, selling me
- 27:41Speaker 1: and what other people were selling me on. But honestly,
- 27:43Speaker 1: I feel like finding what makes you happy and finding
- 27:46Speaker 1: things that make you feel confident is your goal in life.
- 27:49Speaker 1: For fashion, it's not about following other people. It's about
- 27:52Speaker 1: doing what you think is best for yourself. I feel
- 27:54Speaker 1: like I've always had a love for fashion, and I
- 27:57Speaker 1: always wanted things that were like to the ordinary. I
- 28:01Speaker 1: remember when like ripped jeans became such a big thing
- 28:04Speaker 1: back in high school, and I never went to Abercombi
- 28:07Speaker 1: or Hollister to go buy ripped jeans. I just took
- 28:09Speaker 1: a pair of jeens that I owned and I made
- 28:11Speaker 1: my mom rip them for me. But like, I always
- 28:13Speaker 1: found ways to kind of like do things in my
- 28:15Speaker 1: own way. If that makes sense. So that's why I
- 28:18Speaker 1: feel like fashion is so important for how you see
- 28:21Speaker 1: yourself and how your confidence is. And yeah, something that
- 28:25Speaker 1: I think is so important to really focus on if
- 28:29Speaker 1: you're really wanting to feel your hottest self and just
- 28:31Speaker 1: like feel confident as well. Now, let's talk about confidence
- 28:34Speaker 1: for a bit, because it's kind of like your mental
- 28:37Speaker 1: health as well, right, Like, we want to talk about
- 28:39Speaker 1: mental health here because taking care of your emotion and
- 28:42Speaker 1: physical being is important, right, So obviously getting enough sleep
- 28:48Speaker 1: and exercising is what's going to help your mental health.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Setting healthy boundaries with people who you know disrespect you. Like,
- 28:55Speaker 1: if there's people that are sucking negative energy out of you,
- 28:59Speaker 1: why are we with these people? We should be surrounding
- 29:01Speaker 1: yourself with positive people who bring a positive aspect to
- 29:03Speaker 1: your life. We don't want to be in surround ourselves
- 29:06Speaker 1: with people that disrespect you. Managing your stress by not
- 29:09Speaker 1: ignoring it. What are we doing to manage this stress?
- 29:11Speaker 1: Are we journaling? Are we meditating? Are we taking time
- 29:14Speaker 1: out over a day to do an hour walk besides,
- 29:17Speaker 1: you know, draining ourselves in something that's creating this stress
- 29:20Speaker 1: on ourselves. Are we seeking support? Are we talking to
- 29:23Speaker 1: our friends, Are we talking to a family member, are
- 29:25Speaker 1: we you know, maybe hiring a therapist, Like really making
- 29:29Speaker 1: those things up priorities also going to make you feel
- 29:33Speaker 1: more confident, more hot because you're actually focusing within yourself
- 29:37Speaker 1: and not just your physical being. I just want people
- 29:39Speaker 1: to know that all these things that I've talked about
- 29:42Speaker 1: in today's episode is not about striving to be perfect.
- 29:45Speaker 1: It's striving to just be better. You want to feel
- 29:49Speaker 1: like you're investing in yourself. You want to feel like
- 29:52Speaker 1: you're trying to become the best version of yourself by
- 29:55Speaker 1: maybe taking these tips into your day to day life
- 29:59Speaker 1: to make you feel a little bit better. Right, Like,
- 30:01Speaker 1: that's all this episode was really about, is that no
- 30:04Speaker 1: one's perfect. Everyone has things to work on. As I said,
- 30:08Speaker 1: there's things here that I need to work on for
- 30:11Speaker 1: me feeling hotter, me wanting to feel richer, Like everybody
- 30:14Speaker 1: could take something from this episode and apply it to
- 30:16Speaker 1: their life and make it better. Right. So, anyways, that's
- 30:20Speaker 1: kind of like what the point of this episode was
- 30:22Speaker 1: today was really just take it and see how you
- 30:25Speaker 1: can make your life better. And I thought to end
- 30:28Speaker 1: this episode off, we could do a hotter and Richer
- 30:30Speaker 1: challenge for anyone that wants to challenge yourself for the
- 30:33Speaker 1: month of July to get hotter or get richer. Here
- 30:36Speaker 1: are some ideas. If you're wanting to get richer, maybe
- 30:39Speaker 1: figure out a skill or hobby that you love that
- 30:42Speaker 1: can make you money. Whether it's again doing cakes on
- 30:45Speaker 1: the side, selling stuff on the Facebook marketplace. Maybe you
- 30:49Speaker 1: want to be a personal trainer, getting your personal training
- 30:52Speaker 1: certificate and doing that as a side hustle to make
- 30:55Speaker 1: side hustle money, taking on clients all that, like, who knows,
- 30:58Speaker 1: but figuring out a skill or hobby that can make
- 31:01Speaker 1: you money could be crucial. Or another way is applying
- 31:05Speaker 1: to a part time job or you know, or another
- 31:09Speaker 1: idea is maybe applying for a part time job. You
- 31:12Speaker 1: want to do something on the side, earn more income
- 31:15Speaker 1: on the side to do different things that you've been
- 31:17Speaker 1: wanting to do. Maybe you really want to travel somewhere
- 31:19Speaker 1: this fall, and you knew if you had a part
- 31:22Speaker 1: time job, like working as a server or a bartender,
- 31:24Speaker 1: if you made that extra money, you know, twice a
- 31:27Speaker 1: week in the evenings, Oh, you could get that trip
- 31:30Speaker 1: in the fall if you did that, right, So just
- 31:32Speaker 1: kind of thinking to yourself if this is at all
- 31:34Speaker 1: possible to do something like that on the side, and
- 31:36Speaker 1: also starting to save money if you don't have a
- 31:38Speaker 1: savings account, this is the time to be smart with
- 31:41Speaker 1: your money. Every time you get something in your bank
- 31:43Speaker 1: account from your job, how much do you actually need
- 31:46Speaker 1: in your checking's account to pay for things your mortgage,
- 31:49Speaker 1: your car payment, whatever. If you have a small amount
- 31:51Speaker 1: of money that you could take out and put into
- 31:54Speaker 1: a savings account every single week or every two weeks
- 31:56Speaker 1: whenever you get paid, that's one way to start a
- 31:59Speaker 1: savings cause it's as simple as that. So those are
- 32:02Speaker 1: some tips on how to feel a little bit richer
- 32:05Speaker 1: and again just some tips you don't have to do it,
- 32:08Speaker 1: but just thought I would share. And then tips to
- 32:10Speaker 1: feel hotter, working out at least three times a week,
- 32:13Speaker 1: walking daily, booking yourself a haircut, so could be a
- 32:18Speaker 1: hair appointment this month, it could be a hair appointment
- 32:20Speaker 1: the next month, but making sure that you're doing something,
- 32:22Speaker 1: or it could even be just refreshing your hair at home,
- 32:25Speaker 1: like finding hair masks that you love just to really
- 32:29Speaker 1: make you feel like you did something. And lastly, buy
- 32:32Speaker 1: yourself an outfit that makes you feel confident. Find something
- 32:35Speaker 1: at Zara, find something at a Ritzia. Where is your
- 32:37Speaker 1: favorite place to shop? Find something that you feel like
- 32:40Speaker 1: makes you confident and priches it for yourself. I think
- 32:43Speaker 1: we can all use a fun little summer outfit too. Well.
