- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States

- 1:00Speaker 3: All right, guys, welcome back.
- 1:01Speaker 4: E y L.
- 1:03Speaker 3: This is EYO Sports Edition.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Yeah, something that definitely looking forward to for a long time,
- 1:09Speaker 5: So I'm glad we got a chance to make this happen.
- 1:11Speaker 3: So I'm a kind of person.
- 1:12Speaker 5: I'm on Instagram all day, every day, and I find
- 1:15Speaker 5: a variety of different things. So a family through shoot
- 1:18Speaker 5: a couple of years ago, I think, I don't even
- 1:20Speaker 5: know how I originally found you. I've seen this dude
- 1:23Speaker 5: doing trick shots off of rims with nails on, Like,
- 1:29Speaker 5: I'm like, yo, this is crazy. So I was following
- 1:32Speaker 5: his journey. The athletic part is dope, We're gonna talk
- 1:35Speaker 5: about that. But what I really, you know, took was
- 1:38Speaker 5: just the marketing and the business side of it.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, this is dope.
- 1:41Speaker 5: This is somebody that's actually building a brand for himself
- 1:44Speaker 5: on social media, using his talent and just creating a buzz.
- 1:48Speaker 5: He's training celebrities, little yachty.
- 1:51Speaker 6: I mean, I mean not just training them, but turning
- 1:54Speaker 6: them in the ball players.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Like, yeah, trying.
- 1:57Speaker 6: I saw we saw Drake before he made It was
- 2:00Speaker 6: a lot different. It was you got a lot to
- 2:03Speaker 6: do with what I guess, his championships in his own house.
- 2:07Speaker 5: He wanted a lot of chips in that house. So
- 2:10Speaker 5: you so you turned into a celebrity trainer. You got
- 2:15Speaker 5: a documentary out, Like I said, you work with a
- 2:17Speaker 5: bunch of entertainers. You flew overseas a variety of different times,
- 2:21Speaker 5: you give speeches. So this is a dope conversation from
- 2:26Speaker 5: the athletics standpoint, but also from the business standpoint and
- 2:29Speaker 5: the Brandon standpoint. So I'm sure a lot of people
- 2:31Speaker 5: will gain a lot of value from this. So, first
- 2:33Speaker 5: and foremost, thank you for joining us.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Thank you for having me.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Man, it's a pleasure to have you here. Is Chris
- 2:37Speaker 6: Matthews or is it lead through Shooter.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Chris Matthews coach? Coach Chris Matthews lead the Shooter?
- 2:42Speaker 6: Both perfect?
- 2:43Speaker 5: Perfect, So let's talk about all right, let's talk about
- 2:46Speaker 5: how this starts. So you're from District of Columbia, child
- 2:49Speaker 5: out to DC and you face adversity early.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Right, I believe both of your parents passed away.
- 2:56Speaker 4: No, my my biological I didn't grow up my biological parents.
- 3:00Speaker 4: My biological mom is still alive.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah, okay.
- 3:04Speaker 5: And then this turns into a basketball journey. So how
- 3:10Speaker 5: because during that time nineties DC crazy, you know a
- 3:15Speaker 5: lot of people felt victim went to jail. I'm sure
- 3:18Speaker 5: a lot of your friends that you grew up went
- 3:19Speaker 5: to jail. Dad or just didn't make it out. How
- 3:23Speaker 5: were you able to navigate that at such a young age,
- 3:26Speaker 5: facing adversity and then end up on the basketball route.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Yeah, just long story short. You know, I didn't grow
- 3:32Speaker 4: up my biological parents, my cousins. You know, they took
- 3:35Speaker 4: me out of a home that it was stuff going
- 3:36Speaker 4: on in the house that I shouldn't have been around
- 3:38Speaker 4: as a young man, you know what I mean. So
- 3:41Speaker 4: when my cousin took me out of their home. A
- 3:43Speaker 4: lot of people know I grew up in DC, but
- 3:45Speaker 4: I grew up in the roughest neighborhoods. I grew up
- 3:46Speaker 4: around Langdon Park, I grew up around Kennedy, I grew
- 3:48Speaker 4: up around Benning Park. But every situation where it's housing authority,
- 3:53Speaker 4: if that makes sense, so projects, Yeah, basically in Washington, DC.
- 3:58Speaker 4: So I feel like those type of situations molded me
- 4:00Speaker 4: for all the tough things that I had to go
- 4:02Speaker 4: through in life. You know, I feel like I'm not
- 4:04Speaker 4: trying to say I want people to grow up in
- 4:06Speaker 4: those type of situations, but I do think it molds
- 4:08Speaker 4: you for life if you use it for the right advantage.
- 4:11Speaker 4: And I feel like all the situations I've been in
- 4:13Speaker 4: I've been saved by basketball. Like I said my documentary,
- 4:16Speaker 4: if it wasn't for basketball, I would have been in
- 4:18Speaker 4: trouble because the stuff that I was into. You know,
- 4:21Speaker 4: I'm not saying it was cool, but it's what I
- 4:22Speaker 4: had to do to survive. So I was very good
- 4:24Speaker 4: at handling myself in situations that I needed to handle
- 4:28Speaker 4: myself because how I was taught by different family members. Yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 4: if that makes sense. But the thing about my other
- 4:33Speaker 4: friends and my other family members, they didn't have basketballs
- 4:36Speaker 4: outlet to leave for aau or go to college and
- 4:38Speaker 4: do certain stuff, so they already around the way. So
- 4:40Speaker 4: that's why a lot of my friends did die, and
- 4:43Speaker 4: a lot of my friends are in jail, and a
- 4:45Speaker 4: lot of my family members are in jail or just
- 4:46Speaker 4: getting out of getting out of jail because the law
- 4:49Speaker 4: that Obama passed a few years back. So it's just
- 4:53Speaker 4: to see everything that's happening right now is definitely a
- 4:55Speaker 4: dream come true because I definitely could have failed victim
- 4:58Speaker 4: to my circumstances.
- 5:00Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, So I mean the dream, initially, I'm sure,
- 5:03Speaker 6: was to make it to the NBA. Right you got
- 5:07Speaker 6: out of high school, go to college. Team I went
- 5:10Speaker 6: to National Christ's academy was the MATHA. That's where Dante
- 5:15Speaker 6: went to. He did.
- 5:16Speaker 3: That's America's last name, Taylor.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I know Dante. He went to Pittsburgh. Yeah, okay, wow, yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 4: I know.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:24Speaker 4: I mean we didn't play together, but I know him.
- 5:25Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah, wow, okay yeah. So, I mean the
- 5:30Speaker 6: dream was to go to the NBA, but it got
- 5:32Speaker 6: deferred obviously during that process of going through your collegiate career.
- 5:38Speaker 6: What what happened there, right, because at a certain point
- 5:41Speaker 6: you realized, like, the NBA is probably not going to
- 5:42Speaker 6: be for me. Maybe he's due the injuries. Maybe it's like,
- 5:44Speaker 6: you know what, I'm not the star of this team,
- 5:46Speaker 6: But what's this life for you? At this song?
- 5:48Speaker 4: Yeah, just basically out of high school, you know, and
- 5:51Speaker 4: shout out to the New York players. You know, Jesse
- 5:53Speaker 4: Sapp was my point He was my point guard. Yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 4: he was my point guard in National Christian and he's
- 5:59Speaker 4: kind of reason why I was breaking all those high
- 6:01Speaker 4: school records. But long story short, you know, coming out
- 6:05Speaker 4: of college, you know, my senior year, I was number
- 6:07Speaker 4: one Atlantic ten and threes made. I was top seven
- 6:10Speaker 4: in the nation and threees made and I really thought
- 6:12Speaker 4: I was gonna make it.
- 6:13Speaker 6: To the NBA.
- 6:13Speaker 4: But I didn't make it. But the one thing that
- 6:16Speaker 4: my stepfather, which is my dad, that you know, always
- 6:20Speaker 4: taught me is, you know, the main goal is to
- 6:22Speaker 4: be the first person in our family to get a diploma.
- 6:24Speaker 4: So that was my biggest accomplishment. That was like making
- 6:27Speaker 4: the NBA, because I wanted to try to break like
- 6:29Speaker 4: that generational curse, if that makes sense. So long story short.
- 6:32Speaker 4: When I didn't make the NBA, it's not like I
- 6:34Speaker 4: was just like depressed, if that makes sense. So I'll
- 6:36Speaker 4: just go overseas. I mean, was I hurt a little bit, yes,
- 6:38Speaker 4: but I was like I was go over seas. So
- 6:40Speaker 4: I went to France, I got hurt. I went to China,
- 6:42Speaker 4: got hurt, went to Russia, got hurt, went to South America,
- 6:45Speaker 4: got hurt. But I'm still chasing his goal because you
- 6:47Speaker 4: know we're from like you gotta make you, gotta make
- 6:49Speaker 4: it man his neighborhood superstrong. Yeah. Yeah, so you know
- 6:53Speaker 4: I played in the G League. I wasn't patient. My
- 6:56Speaker 4: coaches told me, don't leave for Mexico because Blake a.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Hearn's gonna get a call up. And refuse. But I'm like,
- 7:01Speaker 4: I'm I gona get this money, you know what I mean.
- 7:02Speaker 4: So I went to go play in Mexico. As soon
- 7:04Speaker 4: as I left, Blake Aharn gets a call up, you
- 7:06Speaker 4: know what I mean. So I just feel like all
- 7:09Speaker 4: those learning curves and all those failures and all those
- 7:12Speaker 4: injuries definitely mowed me to understand life. You gotta be patient,
- 7:15Speaker 4: and at first I wasn't as patient, you know what
- 7:17Speaker 4: I mean, because I just wanted stuff so fast. And
- 7:20Speaker 4: the one thing everybody has to understand about life, especially
- 7:22Speaker 4: if you want to be successful, When you do feel
- 7:24Speaker 4: and when it adversity does hit, you got to like
- 7:27Speaker 4: log it in the back of your head and use
- 7:29Speaker 4: it for the next situation, if that makes sense. Like
- 7:31Speaker 4: a good situation is like the first I remember the
- 7:33Speaker 4: first time I came to New York, I wasn't moving right,
- 7:36Speaker 4: and I feel like, hold up, I might get robbed.
- 7:37Speaker 4: So I saw how to do moving So now when
- 7:39Speaker 4: I come to New York, I know how to move right.
- 7:41Speaker 4: So long story short, you got to use every situation
- 7:44Speaker 4: for your next situation. So every situation I use it
- 7:47Speaker 4: to fail. I've never made that mistake twice ever, like
- 7:51Speaker 4: never against And that's why I feel like I am
- 7:52Speaker 4: where I am today because failure has molded me.
- 7:55Speaker 5: So to oversea anybody that's played, boy, you know what
- 7:57Speaker 5: overseas grind is a tough grind.
- 7:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 5: It's like you're away from your family, you go into
- 8:02Speaker 5: a lot of different leagues every year, it's a different
- 8:04Speaker 5: country a lot of time. You're not even making that
- 8:06Speaker 5: much money. Yeah, and it's something that it burns a
- 8:10Speaker 5: lot of people out. And you know, it's kind of
- 8:12Speaker 5: like a lot of people don't really ever find their
- 8:15Speaker 5: path in life because like you come home, you're like
- 8:17Speaker 5: in your thirties, you never really worked a job, you
- 8:19Speaker 5: don't have a family, try to just coach here in there.
- 8:22Speaker 5: So at what point do you say, my basketball career
- 8:26Speaker 5: is not going to happen, but I'm going to be
- 8:29Speaker 5: a I don't want to Would you prefer trainer?
- 8:33Speaker 3: Like at what title?
- 8:36Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 8:37Speaker 4: So, I mean my whole life is training. So last
- 8:40Speaker 4: season I was blessed to help the Bucks, the Magic,
- 8:43Speaker 4: the Celtics, the Sacramento Kings, but unfortunately I'm really good
- 8:47Speaker 4: with doing content. So I'll say trainer.
- 8:50Speaker 3: So how do you get into the trainer back?
- 8:53Speaker 4: Yeah? So when I came home, like you said, man,
- 8:55Speaker 4: I was like thirty. So the one thing when you
- 8:58Speaker 4: come home, it's like rush out of jail. You come
- 9:01Speaker 4: from where you're coming from, out the whole neighborhood. No, yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 4: no seriously, because you come you come home in the summer.
- 9:10Speaker 4: But it's like you know, you coming playing a few
- 9:12Speaker 4: someer leagues that you gone for like that long haul.
- 9:15Speaker 4: So when I when I made the decision after my
- 9:17Speaker 4: injury in South America, I was just like, man, I'm done,
- 9:20Speaker 4: I'm about to I'm about to go home and try
- 9:21Speaker 4: to figure out something. So I became a school teacher. Bro.
- 9:23Speaker 4: I was at need with academy. I was a teacher's assistant,
- 9:26Speaker 4: I was a custodian. I'm doing all type of I
- 9:29Speaker 4: don't want to say wild stuff, because it was a
- 9:31Speaker 4: great job. I was getting good money. I people that's yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 4: But but but the thing I'm saying is I feel
- 9:36Speaker 4: like with us is, especially as African Americans, when we
- 9:39Speaker 4: don't make it in basketball, it's like we'd be afraid
- 9:41Speaker 4: to get other jobs. Like it's nothing wrong with getting
- 9:43Speaker 4: those types of jobs. That's why I post pictures. When
- 9:46Speaker 4: I was like Bro, I used to sell seerr missed
- 9:48Speaker 4: uh soldiers like you get where I'm coming from. But
- 9:50Speaker 4: I'm willing to do whatever do because I know if
- 9:53Speaker 4: I don't and I do the stuff that, respectfully my
- 9:55Speaker 4: family members did, or my cousins did and my best
- 9:57Speaker 4: friends did, I'm ana be in jail if I'm not
- 9:59Speaker 4: in jail and be looking looking over my back every day.
- 10:01Speaker 4: You get what I mean. So I'm willing to get
- 10:03Speaker 4: a job or do something like that. So don't be
- 10:05Speaker 4: afraid if you're watching this and you and you play
- 10:07Speaker 4: sports and sports, don't work to get a regular job
- 10:10Speaker 4: and then use that to continue on the back end
- 10:12Speaker 4: to learn your other craft to try to be successful.
- 10:15Speaker 4: You know what I mean. But what happened was his
- 10:18Speaker 4: name John Thompson at Georgetown. Uh so the father rest
- 10:23Speaker 4: in peace?
- 10:24Speaker 6: He was.
- 10:24Speaker 4: We was in the gym working out, me, Jeff Green,
- 10:27Speaker 4: Bobby May's everybody. But the one thing I never realized
- 10:29Speaker 4: when we all used to hoop, I used to always
- 10:31Speaker 4: be correcting people, you know what I mean, Like, come on, man,
- 10:33Speaker 4: you gotta.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Woo was that guy? Oh man?
- 10:36Speaker 4: I was a dude there, like yo, man, shut the
- 10:38Speaker 4: fuck up.
- 10:40Speaker 5: Right right right?
- 10:40Speaker 6: No, seriously, a little bit seriously, no.
- 10:46Speaker 4: On, Chris, shut up.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Man.
- 10:47Speaker 4: So Big John brings me to the side. I was like, man,
- 10:49Speaker 4: would you ever want to coach here? And I was like, man,
- 10:52Speaker 4: I'm trying to make it back overseas. I ain't trying
- 10:54Speaker 4: to coach at Georgetown, but not realizing like damn, now
- 10:58Speaker 4: I got older. I'm I made it. Should have took
- 11:01Speaker 4: that job. So long story show. He said, look, you
- 11:03Speaker 4: might not want to work here, but can you just
- 11:05Speaker 4: help LJ peak before he goes to USA? It was
- 11:08Speaker 4: like USA seventeens. I was like, man, I mean, how
- 11:10Speaker 4: much you're gonna pay me? He was like, We're gonna
- 11:12Speaker 4: pay you none. I just want you to help me.
- 11:13Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, I helped him. So I helped LJ.
- 11:15Speaker 4: He goes to play for USA and kills it. So
- 11:17Speaker 4: Big John when I came back to hoop again, he
- 11:20Speaker 4: was like, man, LJ shot the best he's ever show.
- 11:22Speaker 4: But I'm still like, yeah, all right, Big John, get
- 11:24Speaker 4: out of here. Yeah. So I go keep trying to
- 11:26Speaker 4: play again. It don't work, and then Kevin Saraph reaches
- 11:29Speaker 4: out to me and was like, yo, the New York
- 11:31Speaker 4: Knicks want Big Phil was he a GM.
- 11:36Speaker 6: He was the head coach coach at this time.
- 11:38Speaker 3: He was a GM.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yeah, so I came to New York coach Jackson, Phil Jackson,
- 11:42Speaker 4: I met with uh yeah, so I met with Kevin's team.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I moved to Paris. I started helping him and his
- 11:51Speaker 4: team in Europe. Was like, we've never seen a coach
- 11:54Speaker 4: like you before. How he's shooting. But still, I mean,
- 11:56Speaker 4: I'm still on my beginning stage. So I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever, man,
- 11:58Speaker 4: I'm in parents, like you know what I mean, I
- 12:00Speaker 4: ain't really I'm a trainer right now, but I still
- 12:03Speaker 4: might try to go back to be a player, you know.
- 12:05Speaker 4: And then that's when Dwight Howard hit me up to
- 12:08Speaker 4: help him with free throws. So I asked Kevin. I
- 12:11Speaker 4: was like, yo, because I'm a loyal guy. So like,
- 12:12Speaker 4: if I'm with you and me and you are somewhere
- 12:15Speaker 4: and another guy wants to intertwine within that schedule, I say, hey, man,
- 12:18Speaker 4: is it cool if I go work with blah blah
- 12:20Speaker 4: blah for like maybe we can come back if oh yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 4: go ahead. So Kevin was like, yo, go help d White.
- 12:25Speaker 4: So when I went to Dwhite for free throws and
- 12:28Speaker 4: for the Hawks. Yeah, so the Hawk. The Hawks brought
- 12:31Speaker 4: me in. Shout out to that staff as well. So
- 12:33Speaker 4: when I helped him the first two days, he was like, man,
- 12:37Speaker 4: like we've never seen a coach like you before. Can
- 12:39Speaker 4: you stay for the whole summer? So I hit Kevin
- 12:42Speaker 4: Serafin back and was like, yo, bro, like they want
- 12:43Speaker 4: me to stay for the whole summer. He's like, Bro,
- 12:45Speaker 4: that's a dream come true if a team wants you
- 12:47Speaker 4: to help a player for a whole summer. So I
- 12:49Speaker 4: was in Atlanta and then from there, man, it was
- 12:51Speaker 4: like God is good. Like I started helping so many
- 12:53Speaker 4: other teams that year, Like OKAYC bought me in. Different
- 12:56Speaker 4: teams was bringing me in.
- 12:57Speaker 5: So when they were bringing you in, they would bring
- 12:58Speaker 5: you in to work with the whole team much just
- 13:00Speaker 5: one player individualist.
- 13:01Speaker 4: So like it's it's like a private contractor so you know,
- 13:05Speaker 4: when you're not on staff and you come in to
- 13:06Speaker 4: help people, you're basically like, uh, brought into hire for
- 13:10Speaker 4: that for that one person or two Because there are
- 13:12Speaker 4: teams that I've helped more than two players before.
- 13:14Speaker 6: So when his percentage starts increasing, they're like, who's the
- 13:17Speaker 6: guy that's doing it.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 13:19Speaker 6: So you you're a mentor, right right. I want to
- 13:22Speaker 6: go back a little bit, because before you were a mentor,
- 13:24Speaker 6: you had a mentor.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:25Speaker 6: I told you I'm a bulls guy, right right, right right,
- 13:27Speaker 6: Let's talk about one of the greatest shooters ever, right
- 13:29Speaker 6: right right, talk about the role he played in your development.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Yeah. So I was overseas, you know, you know, it's
- 13:36Speaker 4: that rough man. It's just man, I'm barely making money
- 13:39Speaker 4: at the time, and coach Coach showed me on the bench,
- 13:42Speaker 4: but he watched a lot of film. So when we
- 13:45Speaker 4: played his team, I didn't play that game and he
- 13:48Speaker 4: came to me. It was like, Yo, Christmas time, just
- 13:50Speaker 4: have your bags packed, be ready because I'm a trade
- 13:53Speaker 4: for you. And respectfully, at that time, I knew Crig Codges,
- 13:56Speaker 4: but I know the Red Hodges. I'm like this old
- 13:58Speaker 4: man trip you know what I'm syingo. Though, So when
- 14:01Speaker 4: Christmas hit and we play his team, the owner of
- 14:04Speaker 4: the team called my phone was like, Yo, You've been
- 14:06Speaker 4: traded for a first round draft picking money. Coach Craig
- 14:10Speaker 4: a team want you. So I was like, oh damn,
- 14:12Speaker 4: this dude's really serious. So when we played the team.
- 14:14Speaker 4: I went back with his team, and then that next
- 14:16Speaker 4: day he put me in the gym. He was like,
- 14:18Speaker 4: this is the stuff that I think you're doing wrong.
- 14:20Speaker 4: And I think this is how because I'm not really
- 14:22Speaker 4: the best dribbler, but shooting wise, I can score like
- 14:24Speaker 4: fifty easy with the right system, if that makes sense.
- 14:27Speaker 4: So he put me in a triangle system in different
- 14:30Speaker 4: areas to score with my footwork and making reacause I'm
- 14:32Speaker 4: really good at reading fast, so like, if something is
- 14:34Speaker 4: happening over here, in my brain, I can see how
- 14:37Speaker 4: the defend or did something and look there and know
- 14:39Speaker 4: where the other guy is going to be if it's
- 14:41Speaker 4: the system. So he took the time to do that,
- 14:43Speaker 4: and that's when I started breaking all these records overseas.
- 14:45Speaker 6: Bro.
- 14:45Speaker 4: It's games where I got on film. Bro, I'll score
- 14:48Speaker 4: like twenty two in a row. It's because of how
- 14:50Speaker 4: he was molding me. And then when I did my history.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Of course, prior when I started learning from I'm like,
- 14:56Speaker 4: dam this dude helped Kobe for all those years. This
- 14:58Speaker 4: dude was on the team. Of course I knew the
- 14:59Speaker 4: team Michael Jordan's right, but when he was shooting even
- 15:01Speaker 4: at the ages. Ever, now I was like, man, dude,
- 15:03Speaker 4: like he's amazing, and not just with basketball, but in life.
- 15:07Speaker 4: You know, the one thing the create told me about life,
- 15:09Speaker 4: you know, to use basketball, but don't let basketball use you.
- 15:12Speaker 4: And to have him as somebody that I can just
- 15:14Speaker 4: call and do stuff and just talk about life. You know,
- 15:17Speaker 4: it's a dream come true to ever meet him, because
- 15:20Speaker 4: even his attention to detail helped me become the train
- 15:22Speaker 4: I am today.
- 15:23Speaker 5: So in shooting, there's a couple of things. You want
- 15:26Speaker 5: to keep your elbow in, you want to follow through,
- 15:28Speaker 5: you want to hold it, you want to you know.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Get your legs.
- 15:33Speaker 5: What do you teach that is so different that like
- 15:36Speaker 5: drastically would improve somebody's shot.
- 15:38Speaker 4: I wouldn't say, you know, everything is so different. I
- 15:40Speaker 4: don't really agree with the elbow in because if you
- 15:42Speaker 4: look at all the top shooters that like Ray Allen
- 15:45Speaker 4: is his elbow in, his elbows out. I feel like
- 15:48Speaker 4: this dude was comfortable for you. If you can go
- 15:50Speaker 4: left and pull up and make it go right and
- 15:52Speaker 4: pull up, making side stuff, right side stuff like the
- 15:54Speaker 4: defending face, you can make it keep whatever form you have.
- 15:56Speaker 4: But if not, that's my that is my job. To
- 15:58Speaker 4: come in to make changes, not with not with just
- 16:01Speaker 4: your jump shot, but with your mind. And I really
- 16:03Speaker 4: do a good job of my clients to mentally stimulate
- 16:07Speaker 4: them in a certain way because of the circumstances I
- 16:09Speaker 4: grew up around. Because you know, you might be around
- 16:11Speaker 4: the way one of your mans might be a skit,
- 16:13Speaker 4: so one of the other man's might be a normal guy.
- 16:15Speaker 4: One of the other mans might be great. But you
- 16:17Speaker 4: all hanging out together, so you know, the one dude,
- 16:19Speaker 4: you can't think, move quick because he his flints. He
- 16:21Speaker 4: might punch you, the one dude. So it's like, that's
- 16:23Speaker 4: how you are my clients. Once I get to learn
- 16:25Speaker 4: who you are, and I get to know who you are,
- 16:27Speaker 4: that's when I attack your mental with my training. And
- 16:30Speaker 4: that's that's what I learned from my living situation and
- 16:33Speaker 4: for my degree in sociology.
- 16:36Speaker 5: So all right, So back to the NBA thing. So
- 16:39Speaker 5: you're working with Dwhite Howard and now you're like an
- 16:42Speaker 5: independent contractor just working with individual players at that point
- 16:45Speaker 5: in time, how much money will you make at that
- 16:47Speaker 5: point time?
- 16:48Speaker 4: I say, with D White, they they put me on
- 16:51Speaker 4: the contract and it wasn't that much. Bro, probably like
- 16:56Speaker 4: two thousand a month. But I feel like they give,
- 16:59Speaker 4: they give you some where it lived, they pay for
- 17:01Speaker 4: your food, They don't pay for them. It's an opportunity.
- 17:04Speaker 4: And I was just telling Seth on the way over here,
- 17:07Speaker 4: I feel like in today's world, everybody just be wanting
- 17:10Speaker 4: money so fast, you know. I feel like everybody just
- 17:13Speaker 4: is so infatuated money so fast. But your best opportunities
- 17:16Speaker 4: opportunities that don't bring a lot of money, you know,
- 17:18Speaker 4: your best opportunities are situations that mold you and help
- 17:21Speaker 4: you learn to be the person you're going to be,
- 17:23Speaker 4: if that makes sense. And I feel like even on
- 17:25Speaker 4: social media, like I was telling, everybody wants to have
- 17:28Speaker 4: the glamorous everything, but they don't understand that the best
- 17:32Speaker 4: people their first few jobs, they didn't make anything, you
- 17:35Speaker 4: know what I mean. So I really take pride in,
- 17:37Speaker 4: you know, just sacrificing what a lot with that.
- 17:39Speaker 6: So the results is what's going to change the trajectory. Right,
- 17:43Speaker 6: So after he starts performing, is it another NBA team
- 17:47Speaker 6: or another NBA athlete that changes the way that you're
- 17:50Speaker 6: doing business? Now, now you have an idea of like,
- 17:53Speaker 6: you know what I see my value, I know what
- 17:54Speaker 6: to charge or was it the celebrity route? Was it
- 17:57Speaker 6: like people watching like you know what every rap I
- 17:59Speaker 6: think they can who let me see if I see
- 18:02Speaker 6: this guy's training him, can I get involved? Like which
- 18:04Speaker 6: one happened? Was it the next athlete? Was entertainment?
- 18:07Speaker 4: Well, I really just started training entertainers just a few
- 18:10Speaker 4: years ago. So that's more like, you know, my spare time.
- 18:13Speaker 4: That's something you know, it's not like that's your main thing.
- 18:16Speaker 4: That's not my main thing. My main thing is helping
- 18:18Speaker 4: Jalen Brown, Contavious Cabo Polpe, Michael Porter, Junior, Bobby Porters,
- 18:22Speaker 4: you know what I mean. Like that's that's what my
- 18:24Speaker 4: life is devoted to. And now if I train an artist,
- 18:27Speaker 4: now I mean, don't get it messed up. I'm gonna
- 18:28Speaker 4: train you like you're getting ready for the finals. But
- 18:30Speaker 4: I'm not watching film on you like I spend it
- 18:33Speaker 4: like I do with my clients. I'm watching hours and
- 18:35Speaker 4: hours of film so we can be prepared, you know.
- 18:37Speaker 4: And and and and that's the one thing I think
- 18:39Speaker 4: people don't know about me, Like they'll see me like
- 18:41Speaker 4: last week I trained Paso. You know, he has a
- 18:43Speaker 4: number one song in the world right now, they'll think
- 18:45Speaker 4: like that's like, that's my man. I know him, he'll
- 18:48Speaker 4: be cool, but like I'm not watching film on him
- 18:51Speaker 4: to train. And when we get in the gym, it's
- 18:52Speaker 4: more like we get in a connection to see who
- 18:54Speaker 4: each other are and I'm gonna help you with your
- 18:56Speaker 4: with your jump shot, you know what I mean. So
- 18:58Speaker 4: I really want people to really understand my life is
- 19:00Speaker 4: devoted to helping my NBA, w NBA and grassroom players
- 19:04Speaker 4: taking their games to the next level.
- 19:05Speaker 3: But it is great marketing.
- 19:07Speaker 5: It is good market and so at what point do
- 19:09Speaker 5: you really hit your stride on like that social media
- 19:13Speaker 5: aspect of it, because you you've carved the niche out
- 19:18Speaker 5: for yourself to shoot these unbelievable shots right fanning celebrities.
- 19:23Speaker 5: It's the whole vibe, and that gets a lot of attention.
- 19:25Speaker 5: So at some point, I'm assuming you thought about this
- 19:28Speaker 5: and like, how can I separate myself from every other trainer?
- 19:30Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 19:31Speaker 4: So, like you know, but if you look at everybody,
- 19:33Speaker 4: look at Marvin Gaye, look at Kanye look at who's
- 19:37Speaker 4: your who do you look up to? Like, who's your
- 19:38Speaker 4: celebrity look up to?
- 19:39Speaker 6: Look up to? I admire Jay.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Jay, But but is he doing one thing. No, No,
- 19:44Speaker 4: he's a rapper. He's a businessman. He's he's doing clothes,
- 19:47Speaker 4: he's doing all type he's doing wine, he's doing all
- 19:49Speaker 4: different things. And that's when I started realizing, how could
- 19:52Speaker 4: I separate myself because I'm not just a trainer. I
- 19:54Speaker 4: am a content creator. I can't help with movies. I
- 19:57Speaker 4: can't help celebrities. I can help on the back with
- 20:00Speaker 4: people with life. So it's like I started being making
- 20:03Speaker 4: myself more uncomfortable, you know, and if you really want
- 20:05Speaker 4: to be successful, you got to make yourself uncomfortable. So
- 20:09Speaker 4: when I was in Atlanta, what happened was twenty one Savage.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I've never in my life training rapper bro like ever
- 20:14Speaker 4: be cause I was just like nba wnba, like you
- 20:16Speaker 4: get what I'm saying. So twenty one Savage hit me up.
- 20:19Speaker 4: I was like, yo, man, like you know, I want
- 20:20Speaker 4: to get in the gym. I'm out the blue, out
- 20:22Speaker 4: the blue, and I'm like, damn, it's like twelve o'clock midnight,
- 20:25Speaker 4: and I'm like, I told d why. I was like,
- 20:26Speaker 4: but I ain't. I don't think I want to train
- 20:28Speaker 4: a rapper. And then I started thinking to myself, like
- 20:31Speaker 4: why not? You know, So I trained twenty one.
- 20:33Speaker 6: Bro.
- 20:33Speaker 4: It was amazing, bro, good connection and was crazy was
- 20:36Speaker 4: as soon as me and him started training, he got
- 20:38Speaker 4: a call from somebody from just like midnight, you got
- 20:40Speaker 4: to call from somebody from jail. And it kind of
- 20:42Speaker 4: reminded me of like, damn, it's how I used to
- 20:44Speaker 4: have to talk to my uncle and my cousin and
- 20:45Speaker 4: my biological brother. And that's how me and him started
- 20:48Speaker 4: connecting that way. And then when I posted twenty one
- 20:50Speaker 4: on my page, everybody was like, oh, shoot twenty one
- 20:54Speaker 4: with Lee through and Lee through with twenty one, and
- 20:56Speaker 4: I was like, you know what, the next time these
- 20:57Speaker 4: other rappers reach out to me, I am going to train.
- 21:00Speaker 4: And that's when it started really doing that. So definitely
- 21:02Speaker 4: shout out to twenty one for doing that.
- 21:04Speaker 5: But then the other part of it is you, I
- 21:07Speaker 5: know a lot of trainers, yeah, but very few trends.
- 21:10Speaker 5: I don't know any training really that actually post themselves
- 21:13Speaker 5: doing drills right right, But you actually are shooting yourself.
- 21:18Speaker 5: There's another When did you want it? When did you say, Okay,
- 21:21Speaker 5: this is a good idea for me to actually showcase
- 21:24Speaker 5: my ability.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 21:25Speaker 4: I wanted like you said I wanted to stick out,
- 21:27Speaker 4: you know what I mean? I wanted it. I didn't
- 21:29Speaker 4: make it to the league, so I was like, I
- 21:30Speaker 4: got to show these people I shoot like stuff. I
- 21:32Speaker 4: shoot like Clay. So I did my first shooting video
- 21:34Speaker 4: around my way. You know, my man Chug passed me
- 21:36Speaker 4: the ball. But I didn't think it was gonna go viral.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Bro Like, people was going crazy in the comments because
- 21:41Speaker 4: the net was like extremely loud and stuff like that,
- 21:43Speaker 4: and I was like, whoa like? And that's when Instagram
- 21:45Speaker 4: first started allowing us to do videos and it was
- 21:48Speaker 4: only fifteen seconds, so I was like, in fifteen seconds,
- 21:50Speaker 4: I gotta try to squeeze in like twelve threes, like
- 21:51Speaker 4: you know what I mean. So I was just doing
- 21:53Speaker 4: everything to jump out of the box. And once I
- 21:55Speaker 4: saw people were you know, like you're saying, like, if
- 21:59Speaker 4: you're teaching something you can do it, that takes your
- 22:01Speaker 4: value up to a whole different level. And I think,
- 22:03Speaker 4: you know, if you're a trainer out there and you're
- 22:06Speaker 4: teaching some and you've mastered it, I think it's easier
- 22:08Speaker 4: to get clients and to teach other people that craft.
- 22:11Speaker 6: Is there a creative team that works with you, because
- 22:14Speaker 6: I remember, I've seen the craziest shots. I've seen the
- 22:16Speaker 6: half court sitting down behind the back. But when I
- 22:19Speaker 6: saw you put the spikes on the ring, I'm thinking
- 22:22Speaker 6: to myself, there's no way, Like is there a creative
- 22:25Speaker 6: team that goes behind that? Like who's designing the rims
- 22:28Speaker 6: for you? Like what's that process? Like?
- 22:30Speaker 4: Yeah, So every idea you see on my page, anything
- 22:33Speaker 4: red bull, everything I do with content is one hundred
- 22:35Speaker 4: percent my idea, you know. And because you know I'm
- 22:38Speaker 4: very creative, you know what I mean? And I want
- 22:40Speaker 4: to show the world that even as a basketball player,
- 22:44Speaker 4: even as somebody that you think just can shoot a basketball,
- 22:48Speaker 4: I can be creative and think out of the box.
- 22:50Speaker 4: So what happened was over COVID, we were all just
- 22:52Speaker 4: sitting and I felt like I was always scared to
- 22:55Speaker 4: really show my super creative side because as a trainer,
- 22:58Speaker 4: and especially training the NBA guys, as if you do
- 23:01Speaker 4: certain stuff, the type of elements I'm in other trainers
- 23:04Speaker 4: to try to make you feel uncomfortable, like look at
- 23:06Speaker 4: this nigga like shooting.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Like he's a joke, Like he's a joke.
- 23:10Speaker 4: So during COVID, I was like, man, man, fuck this,
- 23:12Speaker 4: Like I don't care if people think about me no more.
- 23:14Speaker 4: So I made an aluminum ball through a red Bull
- 23:18Speaker 4: can but far it was like from here to deeper
- 23:21Speaker 4: than what Seth is at, like illuminum small ball in
- 23:24Speaker 4: a can hole. And it took me like it took
- 23:27Speaker 4: me like seven straight hours to make it. To make it.
- 23:29Speaker 4: So when I did and I posted, people was like,
- 23:32Speaker 4: bro going crazy. So I said, this is the perfect time.
- 23:35Speaker 4: I went to the court down the street. I took
- 23:37Speaker 4: the whole backboard off the court. Bro took the whole
- 23:40Speaker 4: backboard er court did a shooting video that Jone was crazy.
- 23:43Speaker 3: It was just them.
- 23:43Speaker 4: It was just the rim. And then I said, man,
- 23:46Speaker 4: I got an idea for a rem but I don't
- 23:48Speaker 4: know how to build it. So I went online, typed
- 23:50Speaker 4: in welder La. All these welders popped up. I copy
- 23:53Speaker 4: and pasted a message to all these welders. I said,
- 23:55Speaker 4: the first person hit me back, that's the person I'm
- 23:57Speaker 4: gonna try to talk to. So when I talked to
- 23:59Speaker 4: this first lady, her energy wasn't as high as mine
- 24:01Speaker 4: for my idea. So if I call you and say
- 24:03Speaker 4: how you doing, man, I'm lethal. I got an idea
- 24:05Speaker 4: for me and you, and you say, okay, yeah, what's
- 24:07Speaker 4: the idea. I don't want the energy you mean with
- 24:10Speaker 4: right right. So I the second dude to respond to.
- 24:13Speaker 4: I said, hey, man, I'm lethal shooter. I got an idea.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Can you make this? He said, Man, I could make
- 24:18Speaker 4: that tonight. I said, oh, we're meeting the energy and
- 24:21Speaker 4: his name is Arthur Bru. The next day he had
- 24:24Speaker 4: the rim in my house. Remember we don't know each other,
- 24:26Speaker 4: and his energy was like that. And three years later,
- 24:29Speaker 4: we're still doing my dads and we're doing things that that. Bro.
- 24:34Speaker 4: I have millions of ideas for my dads because you
- 24:36Speaker 4: know where we come from. Bro. We gotta be creative,
- 24:38Speaker 4: you know what I mean. We got to think out
- 24:39Speaker 4: of the box.
- 24:39Speaker 6: It starts with the hanger yeah, oh man, yep, and
- 24:42Speaker 6: then the house exactly.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Get the crate, I mean, it comes from somewhere else.
- 24:47Speaker 4: You're saying, that's but we had to use crates when
- 24:50Speaker 4: I was growing up, I had to use crates for
- 24:52Speaker 4: my bed because we didn't have the bed of the
- 24:54Speaker 4: frame we would. I would have my bed sitting all
- 24:57Speaker 4: in a head with stairs walking up in my bed
- 24:59Speaker 4: in the room bru, I'm serious. Yeah, yeah, So.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Who gave it a lethal shooter?
- 25:04Speaker 4: So my dad gave me that name. It was actually
- 25:05Speaker 4: lethal and my games, my dad would call me lethal,
- 25:08Speaker 4: you know what I mean? My son lethrough lethrough le
- 25:09Speaker 4: through Lethal. So when I was going to make my Instagram,
- 25:13Speaker 4: my good friend Jonathan McNair shot to him because I
- 25:15Speaker 4: thought Instagram was corny at first.
- 25:17Speaker 3: When you first get on Instagram like twenty twelve.
- 25:19Speaker 4: I'm like that, yeah, I want to say, like twenty twelve. Yeah,
- 25:22Speaker 4: but it was an iPod, so I didn't have a
- 25:26Speaker 4: I don't even know if it was iPhones around back then.
- 25:28Speaker 4: I don't want to sound okay okay, So I didn't
- 25:30Speaker 4: have an iPhone. I had. I have one of a
- 25:33Speaker 4: small flip fl It was bad. It was just a
- 25:35Speaker 4: bad time. So long story short. He gave me his
- 25:38Speaker 4: iPod and he's like, yo, you gotta get on Instagram
- 25:41Speaker 4: and you and back then Facebook was pumping my space
- 25:44Speaker 4: all that stuff. And then I said, man, all right,
- 25:46Speaker 4: I get on this jon man. So I couldn't come
- 25:49Speaker 4: up with no names. And I was like, you know
- 25:50Speaker 4: what le through shooter, Like that's you know, woo. So
- 25:53Speaker 4: I came up to name lethrough shooter. But this is
- 25:54Speaker 4: what people don't know that he knows. I wasn't getting
- 25:57Speaker 4: no traction on there, right, Bro. I would set up
- 26:00Speaker 4: from like one o'clock in the morning to like eight
- 26:02Speaker 4: o'clock at night and just liking people's photos, bro, so
- 26:05Speaker 4: people can just see my page.
- 26:07Speaker 3: That's a growth hack strategy.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I would just I would just sit up
- 26:10Speaker 4: all night you manually do manually do it myself like
- 26:13Speaker 4: and it's just like I was just my eyes would
- 26:16Speaker 4: be burning in the morning, like I didn't care, you
- 26:17Speaker 4: know what I mean. I just wanted people to see
- 26:19Speaker 4: who I was, you know what I mean. And that's
- 26:21Speaker 4: another good example on life as well. You know, like
- 26:23Speaker 4: you gotta bet on yourself, you know what I mean.
- 26:25Speaker 4: You gotta do things that other people won't do and
- 26:27Speaker 4: don't feel like you look like a clown or something
- 26:30Speaker 4: like you know what I mean, because I've inenviceed to
- 26:31Speaker 4: do it on my face, Like, Bro, what you doing?
- 26:32Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm like a pistiness bro, Like y'all go ahead.
- 26:35Speaker 5: You know what's crazy is I actually used to do
- 26:37Speaker 5: that before you least, I was going my own personalage.
- 26:41Speaker 5: But I used a bot. It was a bot that
- 26:43Speaker 5: it was like twenty a month like that, and it
- 26:45Speaker 5: would like like five thousand pictures.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Well, I guess I'm doing the wrong way.
- 26:51Speaker 3: But it worked, but it did work.
- 26:53Speaker 6: That was one of it.
- 26:54Speaker 5: That was one of those things. But I was like,
- 26:55Speaker 5: I don't know if it still works to this day.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:57Speaker 5: That was on those backing those early Dagram strategy like
- 27:01Speaker 5: a picture and somebody's like, who's who's this random person?
- 27:05Speaker 3: He's pretty cool. I'm a follow up. Yeah, now that dope.
- 27:07Speaker 5: So all right, So now list some of your clients
- 27:11Speaker 5: again that you're working with currently NBA.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Yeah, uh man, it's a blessing man, Sa Bonus, Jalen Brown,
- 27:16Speaker 4: Bobby Porters, Michael Porter, Junior, con Tavis called Pope when
- 27:20Speaker 4: it went tonight. Guys they played a.
- 27:21Speaker 6: Night, went to Shooter, became a shooter. That's my man, Dog,
- 27:26Speaker 6: that's man Bull drafted him because we went to Milwaukee
- 27:30Speaker 6: and now he's knocking down three.
- 27:31Speaker 4: It's a blessing man, No you go, I mean it's
- 27:34Speaker 4: a lot, Grayson Islan, it's a lot of guys, man.
- 27:37Speaker 5: So now you are just getting these players on your
- 27:42Speaker 5: own individual You're not working with NBA teams anymore now, right, Yeah?
- 27:46Speaker 4: So like so like, uh, the way it works is
- 27:49Speaker 4: like when you're going to even if you help a player,
- 27:51Speaker 4: once you go inside that organization, you're part of the team,
- 27:55Speaker 4: if that makes sense. So, like a good example is
- 27:57Speaker 4: like this year I had Cole Anthony. You know, he's
- 27:59Speaker 4: a New York guy. So when I go in there
- 28:01Speaker 4: and I go into Orlando and they allow me to
- 28:03Speaker 4: come into their franchise in that gym to train, I
- 28:06Speaker 4: become that a representation of that franchise. That's why when
- 28:09Speaker 4: I'm in there, you know, I got my shirt talked in.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Am I on that staff? No, But if I'm in
- 28:13Speaker 4: there and one of the coaches want to come in
- 28:15Speaker 4: and join, yes, I absolutely love to do that if
- 28:18Speaker 4: that makes sense. And it's the same with the Celtics
- 28:20Speaker 4: when I went in there to help Jalen and Grant
- 28:22Speaker 4: Woods and stuff. I'm in there, if the coaches in there,
- 28:24Speaker 4: you know how you doing?
- 28:25Speaker 3: Coach?
- 28:25Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, woo, And it's just like
- 28:27Speaker 4: it's a blessing because that's the stuff that people don't see,
- 28:29Speaker 4: you know what I mean. So it's just you know,
- 28:31Speaker 4: I'm a people just see the posts, if that makes sense,
- 28:34Speaker 4: So people just see the results when people don't really
- 28:37Speaker 4: know what goes on in the back end.
- 28:38Speaker 6: I'm thinking about the guys you just named. Bobby Porters.
- 28:40Speaker 6: I remember him at Arkansas. Yeah it wasn't a three
- 28:42Speaker 6: point shooter. Now you just said Grant Williams. I remember
- 28:45Speaker 6: him at Tennessee a bruiser. I just wanted, yeah he
- 28:48Speaker 6: has a three point shot. When you walk into these buildings,
- 28:50Speaker 6: and I'm sure the players know who you are, they
- 28:53Speaker 6: looking at it like, yeah, I can shoot better than him.
- 28:55Speaker 6: Oh man, I mean he could. Let's put it to
- 28:58Speaker 6: the test right now. They challenge when you get in there.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Yeah. So two weeks ago, let me tell you what happened.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Two weeks ago. This dude's crazy dog. So the Nuggets
- 29:06Speaker 4: was playing the Lakers at home, and me and Michael
- 29:08Speaker 4: Porter was in the gym till like eleven o'clock, right,
- 29:10Speaker 4: So don't forget I had to train him for like
- 29:12Speaker 4: an hour and a half. So I'm like tired, you
- 29:14Speaker 4: know what I mean, Michael, forard tomorrow, let's play a game.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Who get the first two in a row? I'm like,
- 29:19Speaker 4: Rod just trained you for an hour and a half,
- 29:22Speaker 4: so shot up to Michael Porter. He beat me, you
- 29:23Speaker 4: know what I mean. But when he beat me, I
- 29:25Speaker 4: didn't hear an end of it, you know what I mean.
- 29:26Speaker 4: But all jokes aside. I love shooting against my clients
- 29:29Speaker 4: and having a good time because it just shows you
- 29:31Speaker 4: that they believe in my shot. They know I could shoot,
- 29:33Speaker 4: and that's why I attacked the world record last year.
- 29:36Speaker 4: If you saw it was ESPN. Like with Red Bull,
- 29:40Speaker 4: they did a good job of letting me express my
- 29:42Speaker 4: shooting abilities. And Craig played a huge part in that,
- 29:44Speaker 4: by the way, because he taught me a few things
- 29:47Speaker 4: that I needed to do to break the world record,
- 29:48Speaker 4: and I did that to show people. I look, it
- 29:51Speaker 4: was his record. I love shooting on litlu cans. I
- 29:54Speaker 4: love shooting through straws, but like when you're shooting on
- 29:56Speaker 4: the real rim, that's what it really is because people
- 29:58Speaker 4: don't know what I really do done, you know what
- 30:00Speaker 4: I mean. So that's why I broke that world record,
- 30:02Speaker 4: so people can know, like I'm a legit shooter.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Another criticism, you know people online, there's always critics, all right.
- 30:07Speaker 5: Another criticism, Well, he can shoot in the drill, but
- 30:11Speaker 5: you can't shoot in the game, right, what you what's
- 30:16Speaker 5: your thoughts on people?
- 30:17Speaker 4: When I say that, yeah, so that's good. That's that's good,
- 30:19Speaker 4: and that's about life. Usually when people criticize others, that
- 30:22Speaker 4: mean they can't do what they're trying to do with
- 30:23Speaker 4: their life. You know, it's a reason why in high school,
- 30:26Speaker 4: like I said with Jesse and them, you know, I
- 30:28Speaker 4: was nominated for the McDonald's All American Game. You know
- 30:31Speaker 4: what I mean? I was. I was top three in
- 30:33Speaker 4: all of d n V and shooting guards like you
- 30:34Speaker 4: don't just I'm not doing that people, I'm coming down
- 30:37Speaker 4: the court. You're yo knocking that you're not. I don't
- 30:39Speaker 4: go to the Pac ten for no reason. That I
- 30:42Speaker 4: play a lot in the Pac ten. No, but that's
- 30:43Speaker 4: the development that I needed. But you don't go to
- 30:45Speaker 4: the Pac ten back then not being able to play
- 30:47Speaker 4: basketball and then go to the Atlantic ten and finish
- 30:50Speaker 4: first in Atlantic ten when they got players like Deontay
- 30:53Speaker 4: Christmas and different guys. That's that's that's that's playing that league.
- 30:56Speaker 4: And if I couldn't shoot with the friend of my face,
- 30:58Speaker 4: how would I play overseas? How would I do everything
- 31:01Speaker 4: that I've done? How would I have broken all these barriers.
- 31:03Speaker 4: So it's more just whenever you're doing something positive, you're
- 31:07Speaker 4: always going to have people saying something negative and you
- 31:09Speaker 4: have to learn how to master to block out the negativity.
- 31:12Speaker 4: And I think I really mastered that, especially like when
- 31:15Speaker 4: grown men walk up to me like, I don't give
- 31:17Speaker 4: a hell, but it's like, man, you can't really shoot
- 31:19Speaker 4: in real life. But it's like, I guess everything that
- 31:23Speaker 4: I've done is green screen. Like you get like, I'll
- 31:26Speaker 4: do a video like did you see a video of
- 31:28Speaker 4: me laying on the ground, yes, making shot. People say, oh,
- 31:31Speaker 4: that's green screen, the green screen, Like, I don't got
- 31:34Speaker 4: time for that, bro, I only got the money for that.
- 31:36Speaker 4: So it's just like bro like, But but that means
- 31:39Speaker 4: you're doing something right.
- 31:40Speaker 6: You might deal with it.
- 31:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that means you're doing If you don't have people
- 31:43Speaker 4: talking negative about you, you're not doing what you're supposed
- 31:45Speaker 4: to do. But that's why only select few can be
- 31:49Speaker 4: real big in life, because if you can't take negativity,
- 31:52Speaker 4: you won't be great.
- 31:52Speaker 6: When I think about the greatest shooter, Steph Curry, I
- 31:55Speaker 6: wanted your perception of it right. You're coming up at
- 31:57Speaker 6: a time he's drafted in on nine going through the
- 32:00Speaker 6: collegiate process. His impact on basketball, right, because when there
- 32:04Speaker 6: was a time where it was like I was gonna
- 32:05Speaker 6: have to cross over, everybody wanted to do that. But
- 32:07Speaker 6: Steph is coming now, it's like everybody wants to shoo.
- 32:09Speaker 6: It's not like they're working on the handle. Your thing
- 32:11Speaker 6: is specifically shooting. I wonder put your thoughts on on
- 32:14Speaker 6: his impact And have you ever shot against him?
- 32:16Speaker 4: Yeah, so I have a shot against Steph. He's a
- 32:18Speaker 4: good friend of mine. I feel like, and I always
- 32:22Speaker 4: say this, I feel like, if it wasn't for Steph
- 32:24Speaker 4: and Klay Thompson, I probably wouldn't have the brand I
- 32:27Speaker 4: have today because the way they changed the game. You know,
- 32:30Speaker 4: if it wasn't for them, shooting has always been shoot,
- 32:33Speaker 4: I'll getting messed up shooting.
- 32:34Speaker 3: They made it sexy.
- 32:35Speaker 4: They made a certain way that like, for instance, like
- 32:38Speaker 4: my client could Tavis call Poe signed eighty million dollar
- 32:40Speaker 4: contract Bobby Porters signed sixty million dollar con because they
- 32:43Speaker 4: extended their range and stuff of that nature. So it's
- 32:46Speaker 4: just like, you know, it's just a blessing to grow
- 32:49Speaker 4: up in that situation where Steph impacted at the right time,
- 32:53Speaker 4: and I say that in all my interviews. Where soon
- 32:56Speaker 4: as Steph did that, that's when I was trying to
- 32:58Speaker 4: figure out what I really wanted to do when things
- 33:00Speaker 4: of that nature, and it's you know, man, it's a
- 33:03Speaker 4: dream come true, bro, because if they wouldn't have did that,
- 33:05Speaker 4: would it really be a famous shooting coach like we
- 33:09Speaker 4: all had shooting coach growing up?
- 33:10Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 33:11Speaker 4: But would it really be like that? So definitely shout
- 33:13Speaker 4: out to those guys for doing that for sure.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Right, all right, do you only train on shooting?
- 33:20Speaker 4: Yeah? So the one thing I don't do that not
- 33:22Speaker 4: saying other trainers do that. I'm not trying to dominate
- 33:26Speaker 4: your whole training session. So you have a lot of trainers.
- 33:28Speaker 4: They want to be a way coach, they want to
- 33:30Speaker 4: be a dribbling coach. They want to cut your grass,
- 33:31Speaker 4: wash your car, and help you with the jump shot.
- 33:33Speaker 4: My only job is to help you with shooting. So
- 33:36Speaker 4: let's do Bobby Porters. When Bobby Porters hired me three
- 33:40Speaker 4: years ago and I still train him to this day.
- 33:42Speaker 4: When I went into the gym, he had two other
- 33:43Speaker 4: coaches in there, and their other coaches handle footwork, handle
- 33:47Speaker 4: all that stuff. My job is for shooting. Okay, So
- 33:50Speaker 4: when I went in there, they said, listen, bro, we've
- 33:52Speaker 4: been watching you. We need your help, man. We need
- 33:54Speaker 4: to break down this guy's jump shot. So when I
- 33:56Speaker 4: broke down his jump shot, when it's time to do
- 33:58Speaker 4: dribbling drills, it's not my job to do that, but
- 34:00Speaker 4: anything he does to shoot out of those dribbling drills,
- 34:03Speaker 4: that now it's time for me to come in. Because
- 34:04Speaker 4: the one thing I am really good at is if
- 34:06Speaker 4: it's something off the dribble, I know how to get
- 34:08Speaker 4: to a quicker rhythm. I know how to do the
- 34:10Speaker 4: stuff really really fast to stimulate the person to have
- 34:13Speaker 4: a good rhythm, If that makes sense.
- 34:15Speaker 5: So all right, advice for trainers coming up or just
- 34:18Speaker 5: trainers in general. Yeah, you think that they should just
- 34:20Speaker 5: focus on one air, like Shamguard is a dribbling coach,
- 34:23Speaker 5: you shooting coach. Because a lot of most trainers do
- 34:26Speaker 5: everything right. You think that that's a mistake. I'm trying
- 34:28Speaker 5: to do everything.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Well, that's a good example. Use a prime example that
- 34:31Speaker 4: he's considered, you know, one of the top dribbling coaches
- 34:34Speaker 4: in the world, and he's sitting on a MAVs bench
- 34:36Speaker 4: and this guy has his own shoot. So the thing
- 34:38Speaker 4: I'm saying is he's not out there trying to teach
- 34:40Speaker 4: people shooting, no disrespect. He's not out there trying to
- 34:42Speaker 4: put people in the weight room. He's teaching people ball handling.
- 34:44Speaker 4: So the thing I'm saying is absolutely, if you're a
- 34:46Speaker 4: trainer watching this, whatever God given talent that he gave you,
- 34:50Speaker 4: master that to teach it to other people and then
- 34:52Speaker 4: the world's gonna recognize that. But if you if you
- 34:55Speaker 4: can teach other things, teach that. But don't be such
- 34:57Speaker 4: in a rush to try to teach other things. Because
- 34:59Speaker 4: once you show you could teach one thing and people
- 35:01Speaker 4: start doing it really good, then that's when other people
- 35:04Speaker 4: are gonna want to hire you.
- 35:05Speaker 6: So when delete though shooter, obviously you had the skill
- 35:08Speaker 6: you were teaching it. But when does it become a brand?
- 35:10Speaker 6: When do other people start looking at it and say, well,
- 35:12Speaker 6: we need to bring this guy into examples like a
- 35:15Speaker 6: Red Bull. How did they get involved in saying we
- 35:17Speaker 6: need to have that talent on our roster.
- 35:19Speaker 4: I'll say about four years ago. So four years ago,
- 35:24Speaker 4: you know, God is good. Bro Like red Bull, Nike,
- 35:27Speaker 4: Jordan Brand, all these major companies, the NBA, Like, I'm
- 35:32Speaker 4: never playing the NBA. Bro, they got me the NBA
- 35:33Speaker 4: draft on the stage.
- 35:34Speaker 6: We saw you again.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Yeah it is. But the thing I'm saying is it
- 35:38Speaker 4: just shows you, bro, Like like what me and you
- 35:40Speaker 4: spoke about, like, if you're consistent, you're gonna get everything
- 35:43Speaker 4: you want in life, you know what I mean. So
- 35:44Speaker 4: when these brands was reaching out to me, it was
- 35:47Speaker 4: just like dang me. And then I started realizing that, yes, me,
- 35:50Speaker 4: you deserve this. You went through all this for this moment.
- 35:52Speaker 4: You didn't make it to the NBA, but your brand
- 35:54Speaker 4: now is just like an NBA player. But that's what
- 35:56Speaker 4: happens when you are consistent, bro, And that's why I
- 35:59Speaker 4: try to tell people I'm from. Yeah, Bro, you you're
- 36:01Speaker 4: a rapper, but you didn't make it as high as
- 36:03Speaker 4: Meek meals. But why not just started school and teach
- 36:06Speaker 4: people how to rap or do or teach people how
- 36:08Speaker 4: to use the keys or so. I don't know, but
- 36:10Speaker 4: I'm just saying, like it's other ways around to do
- 36:13Speaker 4: other stuff, you know what I mean. So it's just
- 36:16Speaker 4: to have these brands believe in me.
- 36:17Speaker 6: Bro.
- 36:17Speaker 4: It's it's it's man's dream country. I wouldn't even have
- 36:19Speaker 4: a documentary if it wasn't for Red Bull. You know
- 36:21Speaker 4: what I mean. I got my own Jordan shoe, you
- 36:23Speaker 4: know what I mean.
- 36:23Speaker 3: So well, you're the only trainer with Jordan Brand, right.
- 36:28Speaker 4: No, I'm the only trainer with my own shoe.
- 36:29Speaker 3: With your own shoe, Jordan Brand, with Jordan Brand. That's
- 36:32Speaker 3: good man, talk about that.
- 36:33Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 36:34Speaker 4: So and I'm the only trainer that has a jump
- 36:37Speaker 4: shot in NBA two k man, because they considered me
- 36:40Speaker 4: like a like a you know, like an NBA guy,
- 36:43Speaker 4: you know what I mean. But when Jordan Brand reached
- 36:46Speaker 4: out to me, they was like, how do you feel
- 36:48Speaker 4: about a shoe? And I was like for me, yeah yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 4: so I I right, well, we're gonna think about it.
- 36:56Speaker 4: So I get an email like yo, we got a
- 36:58Speaker 4: conference call because you gotta go through Orgon and you
- 37:01Speaker 4: know everything's in organ So they reached out we do
- 37:05Speaker 4: everything and then jump at La was like, Yo, this
- 37:08Speaker 4: is going to be the design and I looked at it.
- 37:09Speaker 4: I was like damn, like this is amazing. Man, Like
- 37:12Speaker 4: can I get it tomorrow? So I was like, nah,
- 37:15Speaker 4: you get in like ten months. You can't tell anybody,
- 37:18Speaker 4: And man, it was a dream come true, bro, a
- 37:21Speaker 4: dream come true.
- 37:21Speaker 6: So you said you got a jump shot in two K. Yeah,
- 37:24Speaker 6: but you recently just signed a deal with PlayStation. Man,
- 37:27Speaker 6: this is this is not just like two K the game, like, yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 6: Sony's PlayStation. Yeah, man, what was that deal? Like? How
- 37:35Speaker 6: does that look? Because I've never seen somebody sign to
- 37:38Speaker 6: the actual company.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 4: So they reached out to me like a year ago
- 37:42Speaker 4: as well, saying they've been watching me and they want
- 37:44Speaker 4: to figure out ways to help me, you know, intertwine
- 37:47Speaker 4: within the company, and they had actually me and Jalen
- 37:49Speaker 4: do a collab all start weekend and then they got
- 37:52Speaker 4: to see me, you know, just who I am as
- 37:55Speaker 4: a person, if that makes sense. And once they saw that,
- 37:56Speaker 4: they reached out again. It was like, you know, how
- 37:58Speaker 4: would you feel up under the company. And I was like,
- 38:02Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, I mean I've been playing PlayStations my
- 38:04Speaker 4: whole life, you know what I mean? So, man, I
- 38:07Speaker 4: can't even explain how I feel. Man, it's just a dream.
- 38:09Speaker 4: So we think it may be like a game or
- 38:11Speaker 4: like what I mean, they got we got some good
- 38:13Speaker 4: stuff coming out, so him definitely in the next what's
- 38:17Speaker 4: this in the next three months. Definitely stay tuned and
- 38:20Speaker 4: then you're gonna see Man, it's a dream come true.
- 38:21Speaker 6: Bro.
- 38:22Speaker 3: So how do you at this point your people are
- 38:27Speaker 3: reaching out to you as far as your clients. Yeah,
- 38:30Speaker 3: so the way are you are you? Do you recruit
- 38:32Speaker 3: people or do people reach out to you?
- 38:33Speaker 4: Yeah? I don't really recruit people at all. So like
- 38:37Speaker 4: teams reach out to me, agencies, the players, or maybe
- 38:40Speaker 4: the homie. So it might be like, Yo, man, my
- 38:42Speaker 4: cousin is is blah blah blah. Man, he played for
- 38:45Speaker 4: the Bucks. Man, he needs your help.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Man.
- 38:47Speaker 4: We're sitting in the kitchen right now, man talking about you.
- 38:49Speaker 4: So it's just whoever you know reaches out. I always
- 38:52Speaker 4: I always.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Respond, and only NBA player you're working with, So you know.
- 38:56Speaker 4: That's a good I'm glad you asked me that because
- 38:58Speaker 4: like you have people like, oh, lethal, you don't got
- 39:01Speaker 4: time for the kids and stuff like that. I do
- 39:04Speaker 4: a lot of kid groups, I do a lot of
- 39:05Speaker 4: stuff in the community. I do a lot of big things.
- 39:07Speaker 4: But when it comes to soul training right now, I
- 39:10Speaker 4: have to just do professionals, if that makes sense. So
- 39:12Speaker 4: I'm doing NBA WNBA and you know, God is good
- 39:16Speaker 4: as well, I'm signed with Nike eyb l as one
- 39:18Speaker 4: of their trainers as well. So I just came back
- 39:21Speaker 4: three days ago from Top one hundred where I have
- 39:23Speaker 4: to help all those kids and stuff like that. So
- 39:26Speaker 4: it's just it's just basically that's that eats up so
- 39:29Speaker 4: much of my time. So when I do do kids,
- 39:32Speaker 4: it has to be a big group, like for instance,
- 39:35Speaker 4: in LA in two weeks, I'm partnering with a youth
- 39:39Speaker 4: program where it's gonna be five hundred kids and there
- 39:41Speaker 4: I'm gonna hang out there for the day. And last
- 39:43Speaker 4: time I was in New York, I was with the
- 39:44Speaker 4: PA I forgot the name of the gym, but it
- 39:46Speaker 4: was like six hundred kids and then through five Star
- 39:49Speaker 4: and I'm in there hanging out all day, eating lunch
- 39:51Speaker 4: with the kids. But that's what the people don't see.
- 39:53Speaker 4: I mean, of course, i'll post a shooting video with
- 39:55Speaker 4: the kids, but I'm not just going doing that and
- 39:58Speaker 4: just leaving. I'm in there, mingling, hanging out out. When
- 40:00Speaker 4: my time is due, I don't have time with a
- 40:03Speaker 4: schedule that I have to just just train somebody really fast. Yes,
- 40:06Speaker 4: I have to do certain type of clients right now
- 40:09Speaker 4: because that's what my you know, that's what I have
- 40:11Speaker 4: to do for right now?
- 40:12Speaker 6: Are there this guy's coming into the league. The draft
- 40:15Speaker 6: is coming up, right. Are there agents that are looking
- 40:18Speaker 6: at you to help their clients get into the league,
- 40:22Speaker 6: because I know you work with professions that are there,
- 40:23Speaker 6: but yeah, I'm looking at this draft class and one
- 40:25Speaker 6: of the things, you know, some of the knocks be like,
- 40:26Speaker 6: you know what, he doesn't have rain, that's huge work.
- 40:29Speaker 6: Are there agents that are looking at you to say,
- 40:31Speaker 6: help my goud get into the league.
- 40:32Speaker 4: Yeah, So this year I actually had the most ever.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Like I really never do a pre draft workouts, but
- 40:37Speaker 4: this is the year. Like, that's a good question that
- 40:40Speaker 4: a lot of agents was hit me up because this draft,
- 40:42Speaker 4: a lot of the guys that are like lottery and
- 40:43Speaker 4: big time names, they need help with their jump shot
- 40:46Speaker 4: if they want to make that bread. But yeah, I
- 40:47Speaker 4: try to stay away from that. The only reason I
- 40:49Speaker 4: try to stay away from that because I don't want
- 40:51Speaker 4: you to try to use me is that like when
- 40:53Speaker 4: you get drafted or something and you're still shooting that
- 40:56Speaker 4: same shot and you think it's my fault. If that
- 40:58Speaker 4: makes sense, I'll let you get have to and let
- 41:00Speaker 4: you do your thing for a year or so or
- 41:02Speaker 4: something so you can see what it is, and then
- 41:04Speaker 4: that's when I'll come in and do what I do.
- 41:06Speaker 4: But you're not gonna free draft work out with me
- 41:09Speaker 4: and then go to a Remember you ain't been shooting
- 41:11Speaker 4: good your whole life, and then you go work out
- 41:13Speaker 4: for the hornets in two weeks and then you shoot
- 41:16Speaker 4: the same and then it's lethal fault, if that makes sense.
- 41:19Speaker 4: So I gotta protect myself, you know what I mean?
- 41:21Speaker 4: Because what a lot of people don't say everything is
- 41:23Speaker 4: not really about race, But like, as an African American
- 41:26Speaker 4: shooting coach, how many people it's not. It's a little rare,
- 41:30Speaker 4: you get what I'm saying. Like, So it's just like
- 41:31Speaker 4: I gotta protect myself in a certain way right now,
- 41:34Speaker 4: and I gotta sometimes say no to certain opportunities because.

- 44:02Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 44:06Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 44:10Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 44:14Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 44:18Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 44:22Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 44:26Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 44:31Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 44:34Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 44:37Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 44:41Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 44:45Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 44:49Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Do what's right.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Leave now.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Under President Trump, America's laws border and families will be protective.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Partner of homeand Security.
- 45:02Speaker 4: I want to sabotage my brand because there's people out
- 45:05Speaker 4: there that you know that anything you do, they'll try
- 45:08Speaker 4: to sabotage. Like a good example, Bobby said this on
- 45:10Speaker 4: his podcast. He said that one game he played bad
- 45:14Speaker 4: and people on Twitter was like, Lethal is a scammer.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Then the next game Bobby hits eight threes. We love
- 45:21Speaker 4: you Lethal, So it's just like, you know, it's just
- 45:24Speaker 4: it's just.
- 45:25Speaker 5: Even let me ask you this, how do you determine
- 45:29Speaker 5: like the rate to charge somebody, because that's one of
- 45:32Speaker 5: these things where there's no set price on it.
- 45:35Speaker 3: I guess it just depends on the value. Yeah, how
- 45:38Speaker 3: do you determine that?
- 45:39Speaker 4: Just basically that's what my manager does, you know what
- 45:41Speaker 4: I mean? So like she'll reach out to the team
- 45:43Speaker 4: that reach out with her. They handle that just basically,
- 45:46Speaker 4: like you know, I'm not out here. The one thing
- 45:48Speaker 4: I can say, but I could do, but I never
- 45:50Speaker 4: do because I want you to have generational wealth. I
- 45:53Speaker 4: can get points on your contract if I want it,
- 45:55Speaker 4: you know what I mean because every client that I've held,
- 45:58Speaker 4: so the way it works is like you know, let's
- 46:00Speaker 4: say you're you're Antoine and and your did you know
- 46:04Speaker 4: an NBA contracts they have percentages where if you shoot
- 46:07Speaker 4: forty percent from three, you can make like an extra
- 46:09Speaker 4: eight hundred thousand and stuff like that. If you make
- 46:11Speaker 4: that's if you make you know that it's points. So
- 46:15Speaker 4: like I could easily do things like that because I
- 46:17Speaker 4: have so much confidence in myself. I know when I
- 46:19Speaker 4: train with you bro them, percentage is going to go up.
- 46:22Speaker 4: So that's why I don't do that. But I'm saying
- 46:24Speaker 4: there's certain agencies and certain people that do do stuff
- 46:27Speaker 4: like that.
- 46:27Speaker 6: With me.
- 46:28Speaker 4: I'm not here to take all your money. I'm here
- 46:30Speaker 4: to bring value to you and your family so you
- 46:32Speaker 4: can make a lot of money, if that makes sense.
- 46:34Speaker 4: So like when Katavis call a Pope sign that contract,
- 46:36Speaker 4: you know how much money he gave me. I'm asking
- 46:40Speaker 4: cue nothing and I don't want nothing. I don't want
- 46:42Speaker 4: them rolegs. I don't want no GMC truck. I want
- 46:45Speaker 4: you to sign that thing so you and your family
- 46:47Speaker 4: could be taken care of. When Bobby signed his contract,
- 46:49Speaker 4: I called them, man, I'm proud of you, Jalen Brown.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Right now they talking about he about to get it
- 46:53Speaker 4: a Mecca three twenty three, and you know what I
- 46:55Speaker 4: want out of that. All I want him to do
- 46:57Speaker 4: is just focus in my training, bro. I want him
- 46:59Speaker 4: to have his generational wealth. That makes sense. So when
- 47:02Speaker 4: my manager talks to these people, it's a set rate
- 47:05Speaker 4: for NBA WNBA for camps and all that type of stuff.
- 47:09Speaker 4: So that's the stuff to her in my team handle.
- 47:11Speaker 6: Yeah, listen, Jalen, when you signed at three twenty three,
- 47:14Speaker 6: he at least needs court side tickets like minimum bro.
- 47:18Speaker 3: But I don't go to games.
- 47:20Speaker 5: But let's talk about the era of trainers though, like you,
- 47:23Speaker 5: Chris Brinkley, you got to have become celebrities. Yeah, but
- 47:25Speaker 5: even there, because like my son plays basketball, okay, and
- 47:27Speaker 5: I've noticed he's twelve. I noticed something when I play
- 47:31Speaker 5: basketball my whole life, and well, I used to just
- 47:34Speaker 5: go to the basketball court and play. Yeah, five on five,
- 47:37Speaker 5: three on three, one on one. Might have a training
- 47:39Speaker 5: session every once in a while. Kids don't really play
- 47:42Speaker 5: basketball anymore unless there's a training session. Yeah, there's a
- 47:46Speaker 5: lot of personal trainers. Yeah, and I feel like every
- 47:49Speaker 5: kid has a personal trainer. Now, yeah, what's your thoughts
- 47:53Speaker 5: on that?
- 47:54Speaker 4: I don't agree with it, you know what I mean
- 47:56Speaker 4: because when I grew up, you know what I mean?
- 47:57Speaker 4: Like like you said, we'll go outside, what nine in
- 47:59Speaker 4: the morning and hoop all day to five pm? That's
- 48:01Speaker 4: how you became good. I feel like, you know, at
- 48:03Speaker 4: a young age, you should I don't think a kid
- 48:05Speaker 4: should really have of course, you need to have somebody
- 48:07Speaker 4: age do this here and there, But let that kid
- 48:09Speaker 4: go play. That's how he gonna learn how to play
- 48:11Speaker 4: at the early age. I feel like it's too much
- 48:13Speaker 4: pacifying going on right now, you know what I mean.
- 48:15Speaker 4: I feel like it's so many parents that's the private
- 48:18Speaker 4: kids of their childhoods because they're saying what's happening on
- 48:20Speaker 4: social media and stuff like that, and that's why a
- 48:22Speaker 4: lot of these guys aren't really as great as they
- 48:24Speaker 4: can be, you know what I mean. A lot of
- 48:26Speaker 4: them feel uh what is the word? When somebody feels
- 48:29Speaker 4: like you're supposed to give them something entitle These kids
- 48:32Speaker 4: feel so entitled. Now we were entitled, you know what
- 48:34Speaker 4: I mean. A good example, I remember I used to
- 48:36Speaker 4: come to New York bro we will play at the Rucker,
- 48:38Speaker 4: then we'll go to Pro City, then we go to
- 48:42Speaker 4: Who's the one that was sponsored by Jordan Brand? I forgot,
- 48:46Speaker 4: But basically we're playing five games in a day, if
- 48:49Speaker 4: that makes sense. With White Chalk and all these guys.
- 48:51Speaker 4: And it's just like we didn't we didn't have no
- 48:53Speaker 4: trainers or nothing like that. We just we just hooping
- 48:56Speaker 4: because we love the game. So it's like, if it's
- 48:57Speaker 4: somebody out there and you're young, of course, have somebody
- 49:00Speaker 4: explain to you how to do a train on your
- 49:02Speaker 4: spare time here and there, but if you really want
- 49:04Speaker 4: to be the best, man, go play basketball at a
- 49:06Speaker 4: young age. You know what I mean? Yeah, go hoop
- 49:08Speaker 4: because even the runs now are like organized. Oh man, referee,
- 49:12Speaker 4: you know, you know back when we was growing up,
- 49:14Speaker 4: if you filed me, but that's what that's what messing.
- 49:16Speaker 4: You gotta figured out. They'll follow follow me, follow.
- 49:19Speaker 6: Me, man.
- 49:23Speaker 4: So it's just I feel like these kids are being
- 49:25Speaker 4: deprived on life lessons. And that's why when you go
- 49:28Speaker 4: to these AAU events, all due respect to the kids
- 49:31Speaker 4: and the family, like these kids don't even know how
- 49:33Speaker 4: to hand They all whining and stuff like that.
- 49:35Speaker 6: We didn't do that.
- 49:36Speaker 4: You get what I'm saying. When I played for DC
- 49:38Speaker 4: assault and different things, like, we was so much intertwined
- 49:41Speaker 4: and understanding how it was playing at the park that
- 49:44Speaker 4: when we went to and stuff happened, we knew how
- 49:46Speaker 4: to handle ourselves. The kids right now don't even know
- 49:48Speaker 4: how to handle theirself. Soon, bro, these kids now and
- 49:51Speaker 4: are walking down with walking around videographers of age. You get,
- 49:53Speaker 4: I can't even get content from my age. You gained.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Everybody's got a videographer.
- 49:58Speaker 4: Everybody got a videographer.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Now rankings coming young, young, you.
- 50:01Speaker 4: Shouldn't rank I think we shouldn't rank kids bro until
- 50:04Speaker 4: they get to middle school. Middle yeah, because we wouldn't
- 50:07Speaker 4: know hospool a little too late. I feel like middle school.
- 50:10Speaker 3: I saw you.
- 50:11Speaker 6: There's a picture. Yeah, you're working out with Bryce right right,
- 50:14Speaker 6: right right, which is obviously Lebron's son.
- 50:17Speaker 4: Right.
- 50:17Speaker 6: So what I mean, what what is that like when
- 50:19Speaker 6: you have a child of a legend of superstar, one
- 50:24Speaker 6: of the greatest ever? What's that like for you?
- 50:27Speaker 2: Right?
- 50:27Speaker 6: Because it's like, is there pressure for you to say,
- 50:29Speaker 6: like I got to make sure this is working because
- 50:30Speaker 6: you know that's Pops. What is that like?
- 50:33Speaker 4: Well, you know, the blessing is to help Nike and
- 50:35Speaker 4: Jordan Brown. I am around a lot of top kids,
- 50:38Speaker 4: so there's no pressure for me, you know what I do.
- 50:40Speaker 4: I have a lot of confidence in so you know,
- 50:42Speaker 4: at that camp, it was a lot of kids that
- 50:44Speaker 4: are great. It's just Bryce's fathers actually is Lebron James.
- 50:47Speaker 4: Just like just like Mellow Song was there, you know,
- 50:49Speaker 4: just like other legends. Kids are hooping, like you know,
- 50:52Speaker 4: Big Zach Randolph, I trained his daughter, you know what
- 50:54Speaker 4: I mean. Yeah, she's very very great, you know what
- 50:56Speaker 4: I mean, She's a dog. I love her, you know
- 50:58Speaker 4: what I mean. But long story show or not to
- 51:02Speaker 4: disrespect the Lebron to anybody, but it's like it's not
- 51:05Speaker 4: like nothing. I don't look at him as Lebron's son.
- 51:08Speaker 4: I look at him as another young man that I
- 51:09Speaker 4: need to help take to the next level. So when
- 51:11Speaker 4: I'm talking to him, I'm not talking to him or
- 51:14Speaker 4: a different person because you are somebody of that statue.
- 51:17Speaker 4: I'm looking at you as a young man that I
- 51:18Speaker 4: want to help take your jump shot to the next level.
- 51:21Speaker 6: If that makes it, I'm sure.
- 51:22Speaker 4: Bro.
- 51:22Speaker 6: When you said you don't go to games, but I
- 51:24Speaker 6: know you watch games, Yeah, you have a watching games
- 51:27Speaker 6: and somebody struggling, like yo, damn, he really need to
- 51:29Speaker 6: reach out. Yeah, he really need to reach out. I
- 51:33Speaker 6: wish you would reach out so I could help him.
- 51:34Speaker 4: Yeah. So I'll go to games here and there, but
- 51:37Speaker 4: I can't go watch my cars play because it give
- 51:39Speaker 4: me anxiety, because I can't really be myself because like
- 51:42Speaker 4: at the game, Like when I went to one of
- 51:44Speaker 4: Sabona's games, he did good. He had like twenty and twenty,
- 51:46Speaker 4: but he could have had like thirty two and twenty five.
- 51:49Speaker 4: So when he do certain stuff at the games. You know,
- 51:51Speaker 4: I want to be like, got it, but I can't
- 51:52Speaker 4: do that because I'm leave the shooter. So I got
- 51:54Speaker 4: to sit there with my polo on and just be
- 51:56Speaker 4: like just chilling. So I like, I'd rather watch from
- 51:58Speaker 4: the TV because I'm ready to SNA.
- 52:00Speaker 6: You're like the boxing trainer watching the fighter.
- 52:01Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes, So it's just I can't really be myself,
- 52:05Speaker 4: so yes, bruh. What I do is I got a book.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Is I got leathal shooter on the side of the book, Bro,
- 52:10Speaker 4: I'll watch all these games. Every shooter that can't shoot,
- 52:13Speaker 4: I write notes down on them. That's why every time
- 52:16Speaker 4: somebody calls me and ask for help, I don't. I'm good.
- 52:18Speaker 4: I'm ready. So like, let's say somebody DM me or
- 52:21Speaker 4: management team hits me up, Hey man, we want you
- 52:23Speaker 4: to work with blah blah blah. Perfect. As soon as
- 52:25Speaker 4: I get with that person, I'll be like, man, what's
- 52:27Speaker 4: your favorite spot? And they'll be like, I don't know.
- 52:29Speaker 4: I could tell them their favorite spot. I could tell
- 52:30Speaker 4: them why they're missing. I could tell them the shots
- 52:32Speaker 4: they can't make. I could tell them everything about their
- 52:35Speaker 4: body demeanor on the bench. I can tell them their
- 52:37Speaker 4: body language after they misshots.
- 52:39Speaker 3: I can literally tell you.
- 52:40Speaker 4: Everything you're doing wrong with the artist shooting doing it work.
- 52:42Speaker 4: You gotta do the prep, you know what I mean.
- 52:44Speaker 4: You got to, especially dealing with these type of guys.
- 52:47Speaker 4: You know what I mean, because when they meet you,
- 52:48Speaker 4: I'm gonna give you a good example, bro. Because he's
- 52:50Speaker 4: from New York. So I met Danny Green two years ago.
- 52:54Speaker 4: And you remember, he's considered one of the best shooters
- 52:56Speaker 4: all time. You know what I mean. He did a
- 52:57Speaker 4: good job.
- 52:57Speaker 5: I mean, Danny's He's a great for New York. How
- 53:01Speaker 5: many people out of New York. So a lot of
- 53:05Speaker 5: great shooters come out of New York.
- 53:07Speaker 6: It don't matter, just like him. Tobias Harris.
- 53:11Speaker 4: Okay, all right, So Danny's so long story short. When
- 53:15Speaker 4: I first met Danny, he was like, what can you
- 53:18Speaker 4: teach me that I don't know about shooting? Yeah, So
- 53:20Speaker 4: I was like, I really think it's a lot I
- 53:22Speaker 4: could teach you.
- 53:23Speaker 6: Man.
- 53:23Speaker 4: I think this is what you do wrong. That's what
- 53:25Speaker 4: you do wrong. He was like, oh damn. So when
- 53:28Speaker 4: he came to the Sixers, that was the highest three
- 53:30Speaker 4: point percentage you ever shot in his career from the
- 53:32Speaker 4: corner because that was the biggest thing he was working
- 53:34Speaker 4: on because the year prior that I wasn't with him
- 53:36Speaker 4: the Lakers, we wasn't. He didn't do it the way
- 53:38Speaker 4: he really wanted to do it, But we built a
- 53:40Speaker 4: relationship that with people don't know is in the finals,
- 53:43Speaker 4: we were talking on the phone, but I wasn't really
- 53:45Speaker 4: being able to touch him the way I could. So
- 53:47Speaker 4: I trained him one time for the Lakers, but that's
- 53:49Speaker 4: not enough with the artist shooting, that's not enough. So
- 53:51Speaker 4: we would have phone calls and then we started training
- 53:54Speaker 4: when he was with the Sixers. That's when everything started
- 53:56Speaker 4: coming back. But that's another prime example where players are like,
- 53:59Speaker 4: you know, like like how can you really help me?
- 54:01Speaker 4: And that's a good example because a lot of elite
- 54:04Speaker 4: shooters who hire me when I do help them, they
- 54:06Speaker 4: always say that, like what can you teach me that
- 54:07Speaker 4: I don't know? And if Steph Curry, if Tiger Woods
- 54:11Speaker 4: have coaches, all of us can have coaches because they're
- 54:14Speaker 4: the best.
- 54:15Speaker 5: So your demand on your time right because you're training
- 54:18Speaker 5: different players a different parts of the country. Like you said,
- 54:20Speaker 5: I mean, if you get one session with a person
- 54:23Speaker 5: that's not really going to change everything. What how do
- 54:27Speaker 5: you structure this? Is it like a package? Like I
- 54:29Speaker 5: got to see you two times in a week or
- 54:31Speaker 5: six times over the course of a month, Like.
- 54:33Speaker 6: How do you do that?
- 54:34Speaker 4: Yes, you got to be very consistent in the summertime.
- 54:36Speaker 4: It has to be over at least twenty five workouts,
- 54:39Speaker 4: you know what I mean. If you if each each player,
- 54:41Speaker 4: each player, it doesn't matter how it happens, but it
- 54:44Speaker 4: needs to be at least twenty five workouts just so
- 54:46Speaker 4: because the thing about muscle memory is and it's about repetition,
- 54:49Speaker 4: you know what I mean. Like if you if you
- 54:51Speaker 4: don't do something consistently, you're not with that person that's
- 54:53Speaker 4: teaching you how to do it. Like if you're training
- 54:55Speaker 4: me in the summer three times and you think the
- 54:58Speaker 4: first game in the NBA season you're going to be
- 55:00Speaker 4: shooting great. No, That's why it's a lot of people
- 55:02Speaker 4: that I've actually trained that I never posted, because you know,
- 55:05Speaker 4: you're not a representation of me. If you only train
- 55:07Speaker 4: for me one or twice. You're a representation of me
- 55:10Speaker 4: when we train multiple times, and that's when I that's
- 55:12Speaker 4: when I post the shooting videos and stuff like that
- 55:15Speaker 4: of that nature.
- 55:15Speaker 3: So so do you have because I used to go
- 55:16Speaker 3: to IMG Academy, right, so I'm sure.
- 55:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:19Speaker 5: So the train of his name was Joe Bonasoon. Okay,
- 55:22Speaker 5: I think they got impact now in Vegas. But all
- 55:25Speaker 5: the NBA players used to go to IMG to train.
- 55:28Speaker 5: Are they all coming to you? They're a't coming to you?
- 55:31Speaker 4: No, No, So I travel as well travel yeah, yeah,
- 55:34Speaker 4: but that makes it harder though, right, it does make
- 55:36Speaker 4: it hard. But the reason why I do that so
- 55:38Speaker 4: just so everybody can know too, I can. I can
- 55:40Speaker 4: if I want it, I'm not. I could easily be
- 55:42Speaker 4: a millionaire because all I would have to do is
- 55:45Speaker 4: build a gym, let every single bro. If I let
- 55:48Speaker 4: every single NBA player that reached out to me train
- 55:50Speaker 4: with me, I would make tons of money. But the
- 55:52Speaker 4: thing is, since I'm a shooting coach in my brand
- 55:54Speaker 4: is where it's at. If an NBA player comes to
- 55:57Speaker 4: my gym, does an answer story, what are everybody gonna say?
- 55:59Speaker 4: Ohah blah blah ba lethal, But they don't know that
- 56:02Speaker 4: that might have been one of two workouts. Now that
- 56:04Speaker 4: that gets out, Now, what happens is when in the
- 56:07Speaker 4: middle of the season, his shooting percentage is a certain way.
- 56:10Speaker 4: Who fault is it? It's lethal's faults. So that's why
- 56:13Speaker 4: with my brand, I can't bring in all these NBA
- 56:15Speaker 4: guys because I'm teaching one premium thing. If that makes sense.
- 56:18Speaker 4: You get where I'm coming from. And that's why I
- 56:21Speaker 4: don't cheat people even with my youth camp. So like
- 56:23Speaker 4: when you see my personal camps, I do small camps
- 56:27Speaker 4: so all the kids can can touch me and understand
- 56:30Speaker 4: and get the understand the artist shooting. I don't do big,
- 56:33Speaker 4: massive camps for myself because I'm not going to be
- 56:35Speaker 4: to give everybody same attention. I want to do camps
- 56:38Speaker 4: to give everybody the same attention. That's why every camp
- 56:40Speaker 4: that I do is really really small because I really
- 56:43Speaker 4: want to help them people. Not saying there's nothing wrong
- 56:45Speaker 4: with the other camps that other people doing, but if
- 56:47Speaker 4: I really wanted to do the quick get money schemes,
- 56:49Speaker 4: I could easily do that.
- 56:51Speaker 6: Okay, So, but.
- 56:54Speaker 3: So you never want to have a facility where it's
- 56:56Speaker 3: just everybody just comes.
- 56:57Speaker 4: Even oh I have a facility right now. But the
- 57:00Speaker 4: thing is the way you explained which is done. It
- 57:03Speaker 4: is so many people when I'm teaching the artist shooting
- 57:06Speaker 4: BRO and the energy that I'm giving to a client.
- 57:08Speaker 4: It's impossible for me to try to train five NBA
- 57:13Speaker 4: person at a time. I like to probably in a day.
- 57:16Speaker 4: The most out pushed myself is probably two NBA players
- 57:19Speaker 4: in a day.
- 57:19Speaker 3: And the whole in the whole entire day.
- 57:20Speaker 4: And yeah, because the energy that I'm giving that person,
- 57:23Speaker 4: I don't want it to be other. I wanted to
- 57:27Speaker 4: be myself. As long as the workout itself, it would
- 57:29Speaker 4: probably be an hour and a half and I feel
- 57:31Speaker 4: like you ain't listening. I'm gonna push you to you
- 57:33Speaker 4: like I'm and I don't get paid overtime. So it
- 57:36Speaker 4: was a good example. Let's let's do uh, let's do
- 57:39Speaker 4: Cole Anthony because it's from New York. It was one
- 57:41Speaker 4: time he was in the workout, he wasn't getting the
- 57:43Speaker 4: food work that I needed to understand to his step back.
- 57:45Speaker 4: So after the hour and a half is up, that's
- 57:47Speaker 4: the hour that he hour half he paid for. We
- 57:49Speaker 4: stayed in the gym BRO for like three and a
- 57:51Speaker 4: half hours. But the one thing that I understand is
- 57:53Speaker 4: I'm not about to child you double. I just want
- 57:55Speaker 4: you to understand what I'm looking for. So now what
- 57:57Speaker 4: that does is I'm not waiting. Oh shnan, I got
- 58:00Speaker 4: blah blah blah. Next, I need to hurry up and
- 58:02Speaker 4: get cold out, if that makes sense. So I just
- 58:04Speaker 4: like to have my day open because I really want
- 58:06Speaker 4: this person to understand what I'm looking for. You know
- 58:08Speaker 4: what I mean. But if I want it for trust me, bro,
- 58:10Speaker 4: I can get about seven in the day and make
- 58:13Speaker 4: make some great money doing that, but it'll compromise, yeah, man,
- 58:17Speaker 4: because I just want that person. And that's why. If
- 58:20Speaker 4: you notice with my content, it's not saying that all
- 58:24Speaker 4: the traders need to do this, but I don't have
- 58:26Speaker 4: a million a lot of people in my workouts and
- 58:28Speaker 4: stuff like that. It's me and I might have somebody rebound,
- 58:30Speaker 4: but I'm doing I'm checking the guy. I'm doing everything.
- 58:33Speaker 3: So do you ever train two people at one time?
- 58:35Speaker 4: The only time I do that is when they have
- 58:37Speaker 4: to understand the same exact task. I can't train you
- 58:40Speaker 4: two together if your footwork's off and his arm is off,
- 58:43Speaker 4: because now if you do something, I'm watching him, you're
- 58:46Speaker 4: you're doing the same thing wrong over and over and over.
- 58:48Speaker 4: If that makes sense. Now, if both of you guys
- 58:50Speaker 4: have the same issues. I can train both of you
- 58:52Speaker 4: guys together. You know, I find that weird sometimes too,
- 58:55Speaker 4: when you'll have a guard and a center and some
- 58:58Speaker 4: all these guys traded in one group doing the same move.
- 59:01Speaker 4: It don't even make sense. Like a good example is
- 59:03Speaker 4: I trained Grayson Allen and Bobby Porters. You know how
- 59:06Speaker 4: many times they've trained together.
- 59:10Speaker 6: During the season.
- 59:10Speaker 4: During the season, I trained both of them the whole season.
- 59:12Speaker 4: How many times you think they trained together in the
- 59:14Speaker 4: same gym. Never they're doing two different things. But now,
- 59:20Speaker 4: if I wanted to do it quick and to knock
- 59:23Speaker 4: them out quick, I'll do it that way. When I
- 59:25Speaker 4: go to the water two for one and do it
- 59:26Speaker 4: two for one. Let me get this quick, Brad, I
- 59:28Speaker 4: go back to my room, get.
- 59:29Speaker 6: Some good to eat. You know, we keep bringing up Milwaukee.
- 59:31Speaker 6: Grayson's in Milwaukee, Bobby's in Milwaukee. We know the biggest
- 59:35Speaker 6: star Milwaukee is. Be honest, I'm thinking from a business standpoint.
- 59:39Speaker 6: If I'm the Bucks, right, if I've seen the work
- 59:41Speaker 6: that you've done with Bobby team, what you've done with Grayson,
- 59:44Speaker 6: and I know the one thing that's stopping this guy
- 59:46Speaker 6: from potentially being I mean he's probably top three in
- 59:50Speaker 6: the league. Now is his jump shot? Yeah? It is
- 59:52Speaker 6: the three point shot. Why are we not reaching out? Yeah?
- 59:56Speaker 4: Well, the good thing about life is you know, if
- 59:58Speaker 4: they're not reaching out of the reaching out, when the
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: time does come, I'm gonna be ready, you know what
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: i mean. So like you know, you have to wait
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: on others, you know what i mean. And I'm prepared
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: to take on any task. I'm prepared to take on anybody,
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: anybody that you name.
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: How big is the legal shooting notebook on?
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: Honest, it's not really that big, you know what I mean.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: It's not it's not really that much. You know what
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: I mean. It's just it's just the repetitions that's needed.
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: A good example once again, I'll use let's use Grayson
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: and Cole. Do they both jump high?
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: No?
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: No, jump high? Cole though, Grayson Allen don't jump high?
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: And Dookie he used to what you still got du Bro?
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Come on?
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Known as a dunker Bro?
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Grayson google right now? Yeah he has retalk? He got no,
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: he has a quick twitch. So the thing is with
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: people with quick twitches like Cole, Anthony, Grayson, Russell Westbrook,
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: who else we know talking about him.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: Donovan Mitchell another one.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: Donovan Mitchell. Donald Mitchell does a good job of calming
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: it down though. So it's just different things that people
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: with quick twitches have to learn how to how to
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: shoot the basketball. So people like Yannis and different people
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: of the nature, it's not hard for me to teach it.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: I feel like anybody that's shooting the basketball can learn
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: how to properly shoot the basketball.
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: So I want to ask you this. I used to
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: use this machine called the gun. Yeah, how do you
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: feel about that? Like technology? Do you use that in
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: your drinks?
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: I mean, I don't knock it though, you know what
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: I mean. But I prefer how I grew up, pass
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: me the ball. I passed my client the ball, you
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: know what I mean, because that stimulation is real, you
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: know what I mean. And not saying don't use a gun,
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: don't buy a gun, but you when you're using a
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: shooting gun, it's not the same as somebody passing you
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: the ball. You get what I mean. So I prefer
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: somebody passing you the ball.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: The next question is we went to Toronto and we
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: went to we played at the Ovios Okay Raptor Center.
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: So shout to the raptists. They had this thing they
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: was showing us where it was like AI on the
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: board and it tracks the ball. Yeah, yeah, you familiar
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: with this. Yeah, I'm familiar with how you you use
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: that or how that?
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: Nah, Like it's just too much, you know what I mean,
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: Like it's almost like two K.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: But the thing I'm trying to say is like not
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: saying it's not true, but when Steph Curry's making all
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: these shots, you know what I mean, Yes, the arc
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: might be the same a little bit of ways, but
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: once you start getting all that technical, you got people
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: overthinking for no reason. You know, just shoot the damn ball, bro.
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: We don't need all that I look, oh it was green.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Let me do it again, Like, just shoot the ball,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: you know what I mean. Not saying in today's world
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: we shouldn't evolve and do different things to stimulate these players.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: But me personally, if I'm training, I don't need all
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: that stuff going on, if.
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: That makes sense? Is a skill set up versus mindset?
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: When in shooting, I think it's mindset, you know what
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: I mean. I feel like anything that somebody does as
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: great as mindset, you know what I mean? Not saying
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: Tiger Woods isn't the greatest golfer potential of all time,
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: but he's the greatest golf of all time because of
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: his mental And if you got a weak mind and
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: you fold fast, you're not gonna be good at nothing,
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: you know what I mean.
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: It's weird because you'll see great shooters and get to
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: the free throw line and they'll shoot like seventy.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: Yeah I did that. So in college, I was number
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: one in the conference and threes made, but I was
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: like thirtieth in free throws. You get what I'm saying.
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: Because I didn't master understanding how to master that area
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: in my game. And that's why I'm able to teach
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: the way I teach because it was certain things that
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: I didn't master here because I was feeding that on
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: the court. And that's why my clients I'm able to
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: teaching the whole master the craft with the artist shooting.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: I used to when I used to shoot.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: Maybe it was mental, but I always felt when I
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: lift weights, like when I did shoulders, it just made
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: me a much better shooter.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: When I did.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm surprised. So you would lift and then go.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: Play yeah, or like yeah all that workout? Yeah, So
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: I didn't play a game.
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: Okay, okay, workout, but whenever I was like in a
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: shooting slump, I would I would do shoulder proces.
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: But it sounds like when you feel like you're strong,
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: it gives you confidence.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: Yeah, just so it's a mindset. So it's like it's
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: like me, like I'm not trying to be funny, like
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: if I don't got a nice haircut, like this is
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: some weird stuff. Like if I don't got a nice
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: haircut and the way my shoes need to be, I
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: can't break world records and do the stuff I do.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: If that makes sense. So, like what's your thing?
- 1:04:15Speaker 6: It depends on what we're talking about basketball. I stopped
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: playing basketball high school.
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: Okay, okay, but every hooper has that thing, you know
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: what I mean? So was it Carmelone or Chris whatever
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: one of them used to lift crazy hard before game?
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: Carl Malone, But look how I saw off as men
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: range jump. But that was that mental you talking about.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: But me, my clients don't don't lift before no game.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: You get what I'm saying. That's just nah.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Well do you think lifting plays a part in shooting
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: at all?
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: Yeah? It does.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: That's why you look at the biggest athletes now, they
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: don't lift crazy strong weights. They do bands and they
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: do lightweights with a lot of reps. You get what
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: I'm saying. That's why it'd be so funny when you
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: see these kids now they young and their parents be
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: having lifting all these weights, like you number one people,
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: that's not gonna stunt they growth. Yes, it is. Kevin
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: Durant wasn't lifting no weights.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: And so that's the age, that's the age old debate.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: So you're saying that lifting weights does lifting weights bands
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: in the light because lifting all right, once again going
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: back to the IMG thing, because that's the first time
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: I really got a chance to really get into training
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: and like and they had us lifting weights, Like how
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: old were you?
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: I was like eighteen, You're eighteen, You're a grown man. No.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: No, But I'm saying, like even Kevin Durant doesn't lift weights,
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: like some people say, like there's no need to lift
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: weights at all.
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: So Kevin Durant is seven foot foot seven foot, he
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: don't need He gonna get to wherever he want to get.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: But the thing I'm saying is at your age, at
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: your height and my height, we shouldn't have lift weights
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: into the tenth grade. Everything should be bands, running heels.
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: And when you say in bands, it's just like coming
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: from like kinesiology. When people lift like a Kevin Durant,
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: he's doing it for muscular endurance, yes, right, not muscular strength.
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: You got we lift weights. It's like I want to
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: get bigger, I want younger, but you really just want
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: to have those muscles having durance, so exactly have that
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: fast twitch go back.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: I think it depends on what kind of player you are.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: If you are if you're more of a.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: Carlos Boozer, Yeah, he has to lift weights.
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: He's a bullet because he's what he's gonna be doing exactly.
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: But like even like us, we saw him get muscular, right,
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: but he still has the endurance.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Or like like Braun Braun.
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: That's good, that's good bron is physically, But does he live.
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: Strong with doesn't live strong weights?
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: No, because he's not. He's also natural.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Okay, let's use somebody else then?
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: Who else is? Uh? Can use Greek?
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: Listen you use you think he's in there lifting strong weight. No,
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: he did put on some he put that's body massive food.
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: You get what I'm saying. Sort of thing I'm saying
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: is you do bands and then you do light weights
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: with a lot, a lot of reps. Because the thing is,
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: if you go too heavy, bro, you will break stuff off,
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: and that's when you start getting hurt a lot, I'm
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: telling you. And that's what Let's do it another. Let's
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: do Dwight because I got to Dwight. The first time
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: I got to Dwight what he called again, bro? They
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: was he was trop x de None of us know
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: retur off. Okay, we don't know what we're talking about
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: right now, but whatever.
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: The wife has big delta, okay.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: And then so listen, when I first met him, he
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: was like Megatron, if that makes sense. So I went
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: to his way coach, I said, respectfully, can we drop
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: all of that make him smaller, but make him stronger?
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: If that makes sense, Bro. We made him stronger and
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: we dropped all of the strength. So if you look
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: at the white body right now, even after the Hawks,
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: even for the Lakers, he looked how well slim? Now?
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: Was he still strong as the motherfucker?
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: Yes?
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: Faster, jumping higher of course, not jumping that Orlando Dwight.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: That was different.
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: He was young.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: He was straight out of high school. Now older, he's
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: still getting up because they shrunk and they took stopped
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: lifting all that crazy stuff and minimize it to bands
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: and doing different things. And the air matters too, Like
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: when you train like high end athletes, you want to
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: train them and in places where it's low oxygen. You
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: get what I'm saying. You gotta do that place like
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: Montana and in different places like that. That's what I do.
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: Like if you're really serious, like and heat so like well, Bobby,
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: sometimes like we'll do stuff outside, like you want to
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: do certain stuff. Don't make it comfortable for them, you
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: want them to make That's what So.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: I used to go to school in Hawaii and.
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: They just gave you his entirest elastic career.
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: Because everything he's saying elementary school, you know. But now
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: that's when, Yeah, we used to play in the gym.
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: It was no egg at this perfect ninety degrees perfect
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: and you just your shirt is just so perfect. That's
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: the vibe that you need. Even in New York during
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: the summertime you play outside ninety degrees outside, like gosh, I.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Always liked it better, exactly like exactly you get the
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: most out of it.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: I don't like. I don't I don't like training my
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: clients and gyms with ac cut that cut that off, yeah, man,
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: cut that.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: Off, man like a boxer.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: Yeah No, I'm serious, bro, Like like this last time
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: when I was the bonus, I probably ripped his shirt
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: like full times. It's me and you, me and YOUP
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: and this motherfucker. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: He's a star.
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: Yeah, he's an all star. Man, A blessing.
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: How many shooting records do you have? Right? Because I
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: know you made twenty three out of twenty five, which
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: is the world record. Yeah.
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: I feel like twenty twenty in a row is a
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: real record. That was extremely hard.
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: Are we going for twenty five out of twenty five?
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: Oh yeah yeah I started that in a month and
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: a half. That's gonna be pretty easy.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Twenty five threes, twenty in.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: The three point concess.
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: You get the five balls that yeah, crapp Yeah five.
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: So nobody's nobody's crack. Nobody he had twenty one, twenty one. Yeah,
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: nobody's ever did twenty row. Nobody's I've done twenty three
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: like fourteen times?
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: Easy?
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: Easy?
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Yeah, but you remember I wouldn't say easy, don't get it.
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: I think you get it misconstrued. This type of concentration
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: is like you're staring at something and you can't even
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: you can only blink twice. Like It's like the stuff
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: that you have to do to get these type of
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: things done. That's why Ray Island, Reggie Miller, Rip Hamilton,
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: Allen Houston, uh As I did that. All of them
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: reached out to me, bro, all of them because like
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: people see it online, oh there you go again, but
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: they don't know, like, Bro, this is extremely hard. But
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: like I said, I had Craig Hodges explaining small things
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: to me, explaining different things of that nature. But I
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: had to go out there and shoot it, if that
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: makes sense. So I'm trying. I'm trying to do twenty
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: five for Red Bull. They gave me that task. I'm
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: gonna do it.
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: They got you going to Tokyo. They got me going Tokyo,
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: going to face a robot yep.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Shooting shooting.
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: Yeah. You know they got that robot that just shoots yeah,
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: perfect form and it makes shot. Yeah. So you're gonna
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: face this robot. Yeah, it's each each Well, you're gonna
- 1:10:37Speaker 6: get twenty five shots.
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: Getting twenty five So We're not We're not doing running racks.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: We're gonna play a game of horse. And the upside
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: of the robot does have that like from half court
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: it can shoot regular. So my half court shot is
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: like a push like I wouldn't even say a push.
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: It's like a push shot because I could make bro,
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: you I don't know if y'all seen on my page,
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: I can make like eight in a row from half
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: court easy, you know what I mean. So that's the
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: only thing it had has on. It's just like yeah,
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: lot boop and and it'll go in. So I'm excited
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: because this is something that I thought about three years ago,
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: you know what I mean. And Red Bull did a
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: good job of making a dream reality. And I'm gonna
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: make sure I take care of mankind. Man, I'm a
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: represent man. We can't let we can't let the robot win.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: What is the most important part about shooting? Is it
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: your legs? Is it your form? Is it your follow through?
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: What's the most important outside of the mental I know mention? Yeah, Well,
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: what's the most mechanical important part of the shooter?
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: I say your footwork?
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: But what I mean, you know you can you should
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: be pointed to the basket.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: I don't even say it have to be straight pointing
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: to the basket like Klay Thompson. But if you don't
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: have good footwork, you're not gonna be a great shooter,
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: you know what I mean. That's like in any sport, hockey, whatever,
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: Like you gotta have soccer, you gotta have great footwork,
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: and everything you do in life always starts with the foundation. Boxers,
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: you get what I'm saying. So if you want to
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: be a great shooter, make sure as much as you
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: want to shoot the basketball, you take time to master
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: your feet as well.
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: Yeah, listen, man, I'm gonna tell you something. He's giving
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: you his whole scholastic career. Yeah. We're going to the
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: All Star Game next year.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Okay, okay.
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: And we're playing in the celebrity are playing it. But
- 1:12:09Speaker 6: we're gonna get them.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: Me and Jada Kiss. We gotta think we're gonna get
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: him in there. Okay, we campaign it.
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: When we went to Toronto. I'm seeing him make a
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: lot of shots I'm used to seeing, like we grew
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: up watching him play. Yeah, his form was a little
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: bit off.
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: Okay, it wasn't. It wasn't so much my form. It
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: was I wasn't used to I'm not used to an
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: NBA courts. It's a far three exactly. But you got
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: me now, you got me?
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: Got me?
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: Yeah, because when we saw you last year, yeah and
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: uh in utah, I was like, all right, this is
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: the this is not the moment. Yeah, you're not playing
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: this year. The next year he's gonna be playing.
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: You got right, right right? He can't make you look
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: bad out there?
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: What were you working with?
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: Als? So the dude from from Chris, Chris trained him
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: and then I had to train him twice for the NBA.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: He's a great listener, Leanna great, Yeah.
- 1:13:01Speaker 6: So you want MVP twice. So I feel like this
- 1:13:03Speaker 6: is something that if.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: You, if you, if you're a good listener, bro, and
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: and and and you want that's about to say, and you,
- 1:13:10Speaker 4: I got you.
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: I appreciate it. Before we finished, I gotta ask you
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: a couple of basketball questions. Your top five d C
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: players or who's your favorite DC player.
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: Let's just say that I got some I got somebody.
- 1:13:21Speaker 6: I'm thinking you said so.
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: I did this before about a few weeks ago, but
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: I'll say that my favorite player ever to come from
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: d C you know what I mean. Only I'll say
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: he don't get enough credit because how social media is.
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: But I really think it's uh, I think it's Kevin Durant. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: I think I think it's Kevin. Yeah, you got you
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: got four more.
- 1:13:48Speaker 6: I want to what's gonna say because there's a guy
- 1:13:50Speaker 6: that I watched growing up from the area with the THEMATHA.
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: KD technically is from maryln Maryland's.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: D C does it.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: It's it's like it's not really a left it's it's
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: d n V Like it's like.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: PG County, PG County, DC, because DC had a lot
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: of great high school like the Catholic School League and DC.
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: My favorite play of all time from DC is Victor Page.
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: Victor he grew up one of my old neighbors, Victor Page.
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: I just felt like I was gonna say, yeah, that Georgetown.
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: Backcourt with him and man and he was and then
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: when Iverson left Man out of like twenty six points
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: like he was killing.
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: But that's another prime example of our area. Man like
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: Victor is a reason why I go as hard as
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: I go because you you know, as brothers, you we
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: won bad decision away from being all the way back
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: in square zero. You know what I mean, He's that
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: he's that left hand silky you know, I mean, he
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: told a out of crossover. You feel me Like this dude,
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: This dude Victor is a is a neighborhood superstar, but
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: the world don't know about him because of the decisions
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: that he made, you know what I mean. He's one
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: of those people when I was growing up, Man, I
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: wanted to be like Victor Page, you know what I mean,
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: Like he's one of those guys that like, but that's
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: that grit. We're talking about that that d m V
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: grit that killing my set, you know what I mean.
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: And he's just man. I just pray the world could
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: have sawd somebody like him.
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: Man, he's in your top five.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: I wouldn't say he's in my top five. Who who
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: you got ill say, like Limbias and I remember you
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: to be up there. You got to be a winner
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: as well. There's nobody in the d n V area
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: that has won more accolades than Quinn Cook.
- 1:15:20Speaker 6: You know what I mean.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: Quin Cook does not getting another one. He does not
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: get the benefit of the doubt that he's supposed to.
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: Be National champion, NBA champion, you.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: He won an Olympic medal in high school high school championship.
- 1:15:32Speaker 4: He wanted college, he won NBA. I mean this dude,
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: nobody is like on man. So it's just it's just
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: it's so many greats. I don't want to listen.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: Bogans, Keith and the other one went to North Carolina
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: and so.
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: These are these are guys who are so skilled. Bro See,
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: people don't know about Joe Forte. Joe Fote was like
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: our you're talking about fundamental. He was like he was
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: built like who was he built like him? And Keith
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: was built the same Keith Bogan's was strong, no fat,
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: but just But but that's what you gotta be. Like
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: New York. Like d n V and New York, we
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: both have the same pedigree. We're not about to back down.
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: You got to kill us. We're not backing down. So
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: but the people you're naming is just. But people knew
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: what Keith was because Keith was able to hold He
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: did a good job of playing the naa uy and
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: went to Kentucky. I mean, Joe went to North Carolina,
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: but nothing happened after that. Is Ronald Curry, I don't know,
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: he's from Maryland. No, No, he's from DMV.
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: But he was number one football player, number one basketball.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: No, you're talking about Peppers.
- 1:16:39Speaker 6: That's not Julius.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: You're talking about Julius Peppers.
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: Now Ronald Curry.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: He was Ronald Curry from n C.
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: He was a number one football player in the country,
- 1:16:46Speaker 6: number one basketball playing in the country. Went to North Carolina.
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: Google might want Google. This one is a top five question,
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: and the top three is easy, but the top two,
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: the all the two was interesting. Shooters of all time,
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: top five shooters. This always, this is easy. So I
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: say Steph at number one. People hate when I say this,
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: but this is the truth. Yeah, I mean Clay Thompson bro.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: At number two.
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: Yeah, Clay like like this. This dude scores sixty points
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: in off twelve dribbles.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: Dangerous.
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: And this is what people understand too. When I don't
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: say Reggie or don't say those difficults, it's not that
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: they're not better than Clay and Steph. It's just the
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: way the game evolved. So if Reggie played in today's era,
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: how they're slanging threes and doing Ray played in this
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: era slinging threes, they'll tier, They'll tier both of those guys,
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: but nobody will ever tier Steph Curry. Why because Ray
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: and Reggie they can't shoot off the dribble like Steph Curry.
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: But the thing is Steph, like you can't like shoot
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: off the dribble. Steph Curry's one. He's considered the best
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: shooter of all time. So when I say Clay, Clay, Reggie, Ray,
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: they're all in that same rim. If that makes sense,
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: you get where I'm coming from. I think the best
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: mid range shooter of all time. I'm not saying this
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: because I know him, but I really truly thinks it's
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: Kevin Durant. Like Kevin, you can't stop him in the
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: mid range, you know what I mean? Larry Bird how
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: his mid range jump shot was. But Larry Bird was
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: very skilled. Larry Berg was next level. But it's the
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: times that have changed Larry Bird's skill level and the
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: mid was different than Kevin because Kevin had an advanced
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: skill set because of how our times are. So we
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: take Kevin and take him to the eighties to plan
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: the era. He's gonna be doing stuff and they're gonna
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: be like, what the hell. But if you bring Larry
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: Bird to this era and he works out with these people.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: Now he's doing what Kevin's doing. I don't know, because
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: Larry Birg' body was thicker.
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: Larry burg was not athletic though he.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: Wasn't athletic because back then they weren't doing what they're
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: doing now with the body. If that makes sense, you
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: get where I'm coming from. So it's like when we
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: do these comparisons, it's kind of it's tough because certain
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: things were being deprived.
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: You get what I'm saying, So, toy, you got one more.
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: So you got you got Steph Curry, you got d
- 1:18:59Speaker 5: which is Golden State. That's crazy, right, and then you
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: got you got Larry Bird Uh one more.
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: Creig Hodges. I think Craig Hodges didn't get a chance
- 1:19:09Speaker 4: he got he got You know, this guy won the
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: three point contest back to back. Bro, This dude, this dude,
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: this dude is the best shooter ever in Chicago history.
- 1:19:19Speaker 6: Bro and beat him.
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: Yeah, And it's interesting how you judge because it's like
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: most people will say, Okay, Ray Allen and then also
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: Ray Allen and Reggie Miller. But then it's like Mike
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: moving on through our technically is the best. He's one
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: of the best shooters of all time.
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: He is considered oneization.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: He is shooter best Ever, So when you put damon there.
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: Right now, Dame shooters ever.
- 1:19:50Speaker 6: A conversation, you don't think he's one of the best.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: Disrespect Dame Dames, a legend, but ever, yeah, I think,
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: so what do you think? Why would you?
- 1:19:57Speaker 6: Why would you range where you can? I mean he
- 1:20:00Speaker 6: has mid raged so beyond twenty five thirty feet?
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: What you said, you got, Dirk Whiskey, he's you gotta say, Dirk,
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: we got to say. But don't get it messed up
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: right now in today's NBA, Today's NBA, I think Dame
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: is today's.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: He's legendary, he's top five.
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: Curry, by the way, that's Hampton, that's not considered DMV Hampton.
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: He's not wrong though. He's not wrong though, but Hampton,
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: no dispect to Hampton out there. I'm just saying, I say,
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: that's that's like us trying to claim Alan Ibson. We
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: would love to We would love to say a hours
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: from the d n V. But I would love to
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: take that type of claim.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: So what what what advice would you give for training?
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: I know there's a lot of trainers that and a
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: lot I know a lot of trainers personally trying to
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: get over the hump, you know what I mean, working
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: with kids. They have a passion for basketball, but I
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: haven't figured it out how to like really monetize it,
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: how to really you know, what advice would you give
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: for trainers are looking at you as a role model.
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: Man, Just keep going, you know what I mean. It's
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: gonna be tough. You know, you're gonna have people that
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: don't want to pay. Sometimes you're gonna have people that
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: are gonna want to underpay how great your work is.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: But just keep going, man, because the one thing when
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: you're a good training people see results. Your name gets
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: to start ringing, you know what I mean. So you
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: know that's where I was. I was like, Man, this
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: is tough, but you just got to keep going. And
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: most importantly, man, make sure you're getting your rest as well.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: I got to do better at getting my rest because
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: when you're a trainer, it's like being a pastor because
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: you're serving other people, you know what I mean. So
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: make sure your mental is right as well, because if
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: your mental isn't right, how can you serve other people
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: and give them the type of energy and knowledge they
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: need if you're off, if that makes sense, you know
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: what I mean. And understand that every player isn't the same.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: You know, you can't train everybody the same. Make sure
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: you're taking the time to get to know your client.
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: Make sure you're getting the time to know what helps
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: this person, what doesn't help this person, so you continue
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: to help them go in the right direction. And watch
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: a lot of film on your client. If they're older,
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: you know what I mean, make sure you study that
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: person so you're in the gym, you're actually helping them
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: on things that they really need to get help with.
- 1:22:01Speaker 6: Last thing I got, man, I mean the life life
- 1:22:04Speaker 6: in basketball, the rise of the truer. When people go
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: to see this, what they're gonna get from me?
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: Just basically, like you know, if I can make it,
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: anybody can make it, you know what I mean. Like
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: I didn't like what people don't know is like you know,
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: I didn't grow up my biological parents, you know what
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: I'm saying. Like when I was younger, I was getting
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: passed from house to house. You know what I mean.
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: These are things that people don't know about me, but
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: that's what made me who I am today. You know,
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: what I mean, And I don't hold it against my
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: biological parents what happened to me, But if that type
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: of stuff didn't hapen, I probably wouldn't be sitting here
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: with you guys right now. A lot of people don't know,
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: you know, rest in peace. My biological father, he just
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: ode you get what I'm saying. So it's just everybody
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: that's facing their back against the wall or stuff is
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: not working out for them. If you be consistent in life, bro,
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: anything is possible, you know. And then success don't always
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: mean the big house or the Bentley or living in Hollywood.
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. Success is just you being
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: happy and living your life the way you want to
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: live your life, you know what I mean. So just
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: the last thing you can never do is give up.
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: So when you watch this documentary, it's just gonna show
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: you somebody that never gave up through all of the mistakes,
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: through all the failures, through just like having all the
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: odds against me, you know what I mean, I was
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: able to be one of the ones to come out
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: to tell my story.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Follow you some announcements, anything else you want to tell
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: the people before we rat.
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: Just basically my social lethal shooter on Instagram. I have
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: YouTube and Twitter and Facebook as well. Like you said,
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: my documentary comes out on Tuesday. It's a lot of
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: big things coming out. I got some special projects coming
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: out with Nike and Joan Brand and NBA two K
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: and Red Bull. We're doing some special stuff, so definitely
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: look out for those. And I want to say thank
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: you to you guys for having me on here. And
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: it means a lot, you know, especially with the New
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: York culture, because New York, like I said before, man
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: it definitely molded me. You know, when I was playing overseas,
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: I wouldn't have broke the records that I broke if
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: it wasn't for my One of my teammates, his name
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: is Clink Skills, and when I was playing overseas, one
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: time he came down court and he had a wide
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: open layup, but he threw it, threw it back to
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: me like that and I made the shot, and Coach
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: Craig was like, goddamn, oh okay. But I knew how
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: to already play with New York Guards because of Jesse.
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: So the one thing that I learned playing with New
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: York Guards is a shooter. Just always be ready or
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: you're gonna get your notes broken, you know what I mean.
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: So I know how many people you guys could probably
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: have on this show, and to have me, man, it
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: means a lot.
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: Man. Yeah, Man, keep pushing the culture forward.
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: Ye.
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: And I advise anybody, no matter what you're doing, follow
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: this guy and look what he's doing on social media.
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: The marketing is extremely important for any line of work,
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: especially if you're a trainer. So thank you for coming,
- 1:24:50Speaker 5: and we're gonna get a couple of training sessions in.
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: Seriously, but you but if you're trying to make that
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: NBA all start for the celebrity one, like you might
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: have to put something out now.
- 1:25:03Speaker 6: Like yeah, you're not working on it.
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, okay, you don't. Don't try to wait like
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: a muff and advance. They make picks early, Yeah, they
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: make picks early.
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: Yeah, working on Yes, where's it that next year? Minnesota?
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: Something like that? Minneapolis?
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: Uh, I.
- 1:25:21Speaker 6: Thinktown, but I think it is the same as like Utah,
- 1:25:25Speaker 6: I mean Utah, Indiana, Indians the state Indianapolis. It's a
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: good one.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: Only Naptown. We want to be on our way. Man,
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: Thank you guys for rocking with us for see you
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: next week.

- 1:25:55Speaker 1: are just some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: the President Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: United States Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: illegal border crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded,
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: and over one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: If you are here illegally, your next you will be

- 1:26:29Speaker 1: to return legally. Do what's right, leave now. Under President Trump,
