- 0:00Hello, friends. This is Hannah Rose, back with another podcast episode for The Sound Within.
- 0:09My platform, The Sound Within, is on the amazing platform, EyeOpener Society,
- 0:16and there are plenty of different platforms within EyeOpener Society that tap
- 0:25into the rawness and the real and the vulnerable.
- 0:34Because a lot of the time, society and people that have been programmed by society, including myself,
- 0:45are expected to stay quiet and stay small and
- 0:56not express themselves in the ways that make themselves feel good and happy,
- 1:06because of fear of being judged or put down.
- 1:11Or maybe it's the fear of being perceived a certain way.
- 1:18And the reason why you're scared
- 1:20of being perceived in this way is because that's how you view yourself.
- 1:30A lot of the time,
- 1:33the issues that I have with other people are projections of the way that I feel towards myself.
- 1:42Now, that's not always the case because sometimes the way that people are seeing
- 1:50me or treating me are projections of the way they feel about themselves.
- 2:00And it can get really tough when it is the people closest to you that you struggle
- 2:07to find neutral ground with because we're all just humans having a human experience.
- 2:19And we're also all just children in this world looking for love and acceptance,
- 2:28and to feel welcomed in the rooms that we walk into,
- 2:35and that's where the power lies being able to,
- 2:42walk into any room and know that your personal power and the true essence of who you are,
- 2:54cannot be diminished by the energy of others,
- 3:02and the tons of disgusting and hard things that we have to deal with In life.
- 3:20Not everything is always black and white, and I struggle with that.
- 3:28And oftentimes when I have a conflict, I lump everyone into this big group.
- 3:39All of a sudden, it's me against everybody else and everybody else against me.
- 3:46But that is black and white thinking.
- 3:52Because, again, we are all just experiencing this life in different ways,
- 4:01and none of it is the wrong way.
- 4:06We are destined to experience life as it comes, and sometimes it's not all that fun.
- 4:20And sometimes I get stuck in my own head and I can't get out of it because my
- 4:29obsessive compulsive brain will not allow me to.
- 4:33The harder that I try to not feel these negative feelings the more I feel them,
- 4:43which is why I find it's important to feel your feelings even when it's rage
- 4:49and anger and sadness and resentment,
- 4:56and even when I feel those feelings I still sometimes harbor some of those feelings,
- 5:03in my body, in certain energy centers.
- 5:10Without knowing, of course. And we all do this.
- 5:17But it's important to find the things that ground you and light you up.
- 5:26Because everyone else is not experiencing what you're experiencing.
- 5:34And you're not experiencing what everyone else is experiencing.
- 5:40Although we all typically have the same kind of goals in different versions,
- 5:49in different forms, we still come face-to-face with conflict very often.
- 6:02And so the real question is how do you create such a safe space within yourself
- 6:09that you can take that space with you everywhere you go,
- 6:16and feel 100 confident and happy within that.
- 6:26And we can sit here all day and say that we don't care what everyone else thinks of us.
- 6:34But a lot of the time, that is just us trying to convince ourselves of that.
- 6:43Because the truth is, we do value and care what other people think of us.
- 6:50It's part of the validation loop that society has looped us into.
- 7:00And a lot of this might just seem like mindless rambling, but this is a lot
- 7:05of what I have been experiencing in my life lately.
- 7:10And when I love, I love hard.
- 7:15And when I hate, I hate just as hard.
- 7:19I'm not a perfect person, so for me, being able to sit here and reflect on that,
- 7:32hoping that it is delivered to someone who needs it.
- 7:46It is grounding for me to reflect upon that but it's also hard because some of that is ugly.
- 8:04And that's where I sometimes feel as if I have imposter syndrome,
- 8:14because I have experienced such negative experiences in my life,
- 8:20and they have made me take it out on other people without knowing.
- 8:31Instead of being angry at myself, it's way easier to be angry at someone else for causing it.
- 8:40But at the end of the day, I have full control over myself and my thoughts and
- 8:47my feelings. I am not my thoughts.
- 8:50I am not my feelings.
- 8:53I am me.
- 9:01Ever since I was a child, I always felt as if I didn't fit in with any group
- 9:12of friends or a group of people.
- 9:14I always felt like the odd one out, as if I was trying to prove myself to people.
- 9:27And a lot of the time that has been my own insecurities rather than,
- 9:37reality,
- 9:40and that's not to say that every single person in your existence is going to
- 9:47like you and align with you and your goals.
- 9:55It's just a reminder that the people that are meant for you will gravitate towards you,
- 10:05and the people that aren't meant for you are not worth your sorrow,
- 10:16it's a huge reflection on who you are as a person rather than who they are.
- 10:26When you feel hurt and you feel pain and you feel sorrow,
- 10:37behind the rejection that you might be feeling,
- 10:44it goes to show where your heart is,
- 10:50All you wanted was to be accepted and to be loved and seen as you are and not
- 10:59as people expected you to be.
- 11:08It's okay to be you.
