- 0:07Speaker 2: wash FM with Toby and Chile in the morning, I'm Kiddo'shay.
- 0:10Speaker 3: And how are you doing today?
- 0:12Speaker 4: I'm doing great, but I think you're doing.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Better because of the Commander's win.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Your Commander's won.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It's because I walked away from watching the game that
- 0:21Speaker 3: they ended up winning.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Now, explain this to me.
- 0:24Speaker 5: Well, the first quarter especially, they were down most of
- 0:27Speaker 5: the first half zero, it was zero, ten to nothing,
- 0:31Speaker 5: and I, you know, really looking forward to Jane and Daniels,
- 0:34Speaker 5: our quarterback coming back from a knee injury, and I
- 0:37Speaker 5: just it was just making me very very anxious.
- 0:40Speaker 3: So I said to my husband, I'm going to take
- 0:42Speaker 3: the dog for a walk.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 5: And then I came back and it was halftime and
- 0:46Speaker 5: he's like, they tied it ten to ten. I was like, whoa,
- 0:49Speaker 5: I need to walk away more on Yeah, And of
- 0:51Speaker 5: course that turned everything and we ended up winning twenty
- 0:54Speaker 5: seven to ten.
- 0:55Speaker 3: There we go for the Chargers yesterday.
- 0:57Speaker 4: So really nice game.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah, did you want of course? So yeah, So the
- 1:01Speaker 2: Packers had a bye week, so they were off. That's
- 1:03Speaker 2: our hometown team, and I was cheering for the Commanders,
- 1:07Speaker 2: and my partner then he's such a football fan, he's
- 1:09Speaker 2: such a Green Bay Packers, and he's like, you understood
- 1:12Speaker 2: why we can't cheer of the Commanders, right because if
- 1:14Speaker 2: we were the playoffs, we were down to this game
- 1:17Speaker 2: and we only had and they won more games than us,
- 1:19Speaker 2: then we wouldn't want that.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I'm like, well, when we get there, we can deal
- 1:22Speaker 4: with that.
- 1:23Speaker 2: For now, I'm dealing I'm cheering for the Commanders ticket.
- 1:26Speaker 3: One new week at a time, one game at.
- 1:28Speaker 4: A time, not a big deal.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I like watching the Commanders win, so I was happy

- 2:23Speaker 5: ending the war in Gaza. Officials say both Israel and
- 2:26Speaker 5: Hamas have shown conditional support for the plan, but key
- 2:30Speaker 5: details remain under negotiation. A man was arrested in Northwest

- 2:40Speaker 5: Saint Matthew's Cathedral. Authorities responded to the scene and safely
- 2:45Speaker 5: remove the materials. A former National Philharmonic music director, Peter Jaikowski,

- 3:26Speaker 5: nine percent of US adults plan to join in, spending
- 3:29Speaker 5: an average of four hundred twenty dollars a household. Gen

- 3:55Speaker 2: Monday morning on ninety seven point one Wash FM Chasey

- 4:02Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning. I'm kiddo, Shay, It's time for
- 4:05Speaker 2: our morning mindset.
- 4:06Speaker 5: This is a Japanese proverb which says vision without action
- 4:10Speaker 5: is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare. It
- 4:14Speaker 5: means that having big ideas or dreams without taking steps
- 4:17Speaker 5: to achieve them is just wishful thinking. But taking action
- 4:20Speaker 5: if you don't have a clear plan or goal can
- 4:23Speaker 5: lead to chaos and stress. Vision gives direction, action brings
- 4:28Speaker 5: it to life. So you really do need both of
- 4:30Speaker 5: those things to succeed. The Japanese proverb vision without action
- 4:35Speaker 5: is a daydream, and action without vision is a nightmare.
- 4:39Speaker 5: It can be found on the Toby and chilipage at
- 4:42Speaker 5: washfm dot com. Also a great place if you want
- 4:45Speaker 5: to send us your own inspirational quote for us to
- 4:48Speaker 5: share here as a morning mindset.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, we would love to do that, all right, Coming
- 4:51Speaker 2: up next here, how do you celebrate important relationship milestones?
- 4:56Speaker 2: I'm hoping it's not the same way my partner Kyle
- 4:58Speaker 2: and I celebrated last night. This is pretty rough. I'll
- 5:01Speaker 2: share that with you next. Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
- 5:04Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash FM.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I'm kiddoshe how important to our relationship anniversaries in your relationship?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Last night, my partner Kyle and I realized at about
- 5:16Speaker 2: five thirty pm that it was our sixth anniversary together.
- 5:21Speaker 3: You both had forgotten day both.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Well, I really forgot it. Was Kyle that said, Hey,
- 5:26Speaker 2: you realize today's October fifth. It's our anniversary.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's so great.
- 5:31Speaker 5: I say it's great because I, in my relationship, am
- 5:36Speaker 5: the one who forgets what day it is. And my
- 5:39Speaker 5: husband is great about remembering, like every milestone. He'll have
- 5:43Speaker 5: notes for me first thing in the morning, when I
- 5:45Speaker 5: come down to leave for work, it'll be like happy
- 5:49Speaker 5: engagement anniversary, Happy, first date anniversary.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Happy. I mean, my god, this man has it in
- 5:55Speaker 3: his calendar ready to go.
- 5:57Speaker 2: But now is that important to you that he remembers
- 5:59Speaker 2: that if he didn't leave you those notes, if he
- 6:01Speaker 2: didn't remember it, would you be like Heley don doesn't
- 6:04Speaker 2: even remember when we met?
- 6:06Speaker 5: Honestly, no, because I'm guilty of not remembering either. We
- 6:10Speaker 5: have been together long enough that we're secure in that
- 6:14Speaker 5: I don't know what it is.
- 6:15Speaker 3: But it doesn't bother me.
- 6:16Speaker 5: When I was dating random other guys before my husband,
- 6:20Speaker 5: of course it.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Would bother me, like you don't know what to do?
- 6:22Speaker 5: Yeah, But no, for some reason at this point it doesn't,
- 6:25Speaker 5: And we don't really do much to celebrate, did you guys?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Are you guys going to now do something to celebrate it?
- 6:30Speaker 2: No, we made ice cream sandwiches last night and say
- 6:34Speaker 2: cheers to six years. All right, Toby and Chilly's top
- 6:39Speaker 2: stories are coming up next us. We've got more music

- 7:11Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington, an iHeartRadio station, coming
- 7:17Speaker 1: up on Top Stories, Top of the hour.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Several lawmakers are calling for Virginia Attorney General candidate j
- 7:23Speaker 5: Jones to drop out of the race.
- 7:25Speaker 3: We've got the details on why in just a few minutes.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Chili's gon update this in all of today's top stories
- 7:30Speaker 2: coming up. Parler thirty eighty two. Today a hot fall day,
- 7:34Speaker 2: and we're glad you're starting with us here. On ninety
- 7:36Speaker 2: seven point one Wash FM, It's Toby and Chile in
- 7:38Speaker 2: the Morning, Top.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 7:43Speaker 5: Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressed the urgency of reaching
- 7:47Speaker 5: a deal to end the war in Gaza. His remark
- 7:50Speaker 5: comes as the President sends envoys little Middle East to
- 7:53Speaker 5: finalize a hostage release plan which both Israel and Hamas support,
- 7:57Speaker 5: with conditions still under negotiation. A federal judges temporarily blocked
- 8:02Speaker 5: the deployment of all National Guard troops to protect federal
- 8:05Speaker 5: buildings in Portland, Oregon. This follows the same judges earlier
- 8:08Speaker 5: ruling against using Oregon National Guard troops in the city. Virginia.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Attorney General Canada Jay Jones is now facing backlash over
- 8:18Speaker 5: text messages from twenty twenty two in which he mentioned
- 8:22Speaker 5: shooting former House Speaker Todd Gilbert. Jones has since apologized,
- 8:26Speaker 5: but now several lawmakers are calling for him to drop
- 8:29Speaker 5: out of the race. Authorities are investigating an early morning
- 8:33Speaker 5: explosion that happened yesterday in Leesburg. Several manhole covers were
- 8:37Speaker 5: dislodged and smoke filled the area, but no injuries were reported.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Quarterback Jaden Daniels made a much needed return to the
- 8:45Speaker 5: Washington Commanders this weekend, throwing for two hundred and thirty
- 8:48Speaker 5: one yards and a touchdown to help rally the team
- 8:51Speaker 5: to a twenty seven to ten win over the Chargers yesterday.
- 8:55Speaker 5: And new research reveals how much Americans are currently spending
- 8:59Speaker 5: on gifts and allowances. So birthday gifts average fifty six
- 9:03Speaker 5: dollars for adults and eighty three dollars for kids, while
- 9:06Speaker 5: wedding gifts coming at eighty five dollars. Mother's Day presents
- 9:10Speaker 5: about fifty five dollars. Kids are now receiving a weekly
- 9:14Speaker 5: allowance of thirty seven dollars, and the tooth Fairy is
- 9:16Speaker 5: leaving an average of fourteen dollars and eighty seven cents
- 9:20Speaker 5: per tooth. Forecast for today partly cloudy skies. Highs around
- 9:25Speaker 5: eighty two right now fifty six in Hyattsville.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Unbelievable. All right, I'm kidd o'she in for Toby coming
- 9:31Speaker 2: up next? Where are the best fall festivals in the DMV?
- 9:34Speaker 2: Did she checks them out? Over the weekend, Chili continues
- 9:36Speaker 2: her fall fest tour. She wants to hit up a
- 9:38Speaker 2: She hit up a new spot over the weekend, but
- 9:40Speaker 2: she wants you to help her on where she should
- 9:42Speaker 2: go next weekend. We'll get to that coming up next
- 9:44Speaker 2: here with Toby and Chili on ninety seven point one
- 9:47Speaker 2: wash FM. Toby and Chilly in the Morning ninety seven
- 9:50Speaker 2: point one wash FM, Monday Morning. I'm kiddo, Shay, where
- 9:54Speaker 2: are the best fall festivals in the DMV. I don't
- 9:57Speaker 2: think anybody knows better than chiliam are because uh huh
- 10:00Speaker 2: do you make sure you go to one every weekend?
- 10:01Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 10:01Speaker 5: You know, we have an almost twelve year old son
- 10:03Speaker 5: and he really does enjoy going to these farms and
- 10:05Speaker 5: doing these activities. We went to Cox Farm already, and
- 10:09Speaker 5: that is a quintessential one, right because it's so close
- 10:11Speaker 5: to home, and Cox Farm has the best hay ride
- 10:15Speaker 5: there is in the DMV. No one can top that.
- 10:17Speaker 5: It's like twenty minutes long. But we went to a
- 10:20Speaker 5: farm we'd never been to. This was up in Thermont, Maryland,
- 10:23Speaker 5: Magnolia Meadow Farms. The drive up there was beautiful, took
- 10:27Speaker 5: us about an hour to get up there, and their
- 10:30Speaker 5: fall festival offers a little bit of different activity, right.
- 10:33Speaker 5: So they had apple cannons where you can shoot a
- 10:35Speaker 5: half what to a yes, a target. My son loved that.
- 10:39Speaker 5: That sounds like it's fun for adults too. It was, Yeah,
- 10:42Speaker 5: that's a little bit extra, but it was worth it.
- 10:44Speaker 5: They have like a miniature little zip line for kids
- 10:47Speaker 5: and Donado must have done it no lie forty times
- 10:50Speaker 5: because there weren't long lines. They had a great little
- 10:53Speaker 5: load to the ground ropes course my kind of ropes course. Yeah,
- 10:56Speaker 5: and a corn maze. So we were there for a
- 10:58Speaker 5: good two and a half three three hours. And what
- 11:01Speaker 5: I loved about this farm, Magnolia Farm, is that it's
- 11:04Speaker 5: so wide open and spread out that even with as
- 11:08Speaker 5: many people that there were, you couldn't tell.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You didn't feel like it was a crowded so nice.
- 11:13Speaker 5: And yeah, and the mountains conducted mountains in the fath
- 11:17Speaker 5: room like. It was just very beautiful and I recommend it.
- 11:22Speaker 5: So if you want to take a nice little drive
- 11:24Speaker 5: and try it out, great, And I would love any
- 11:27Speaker 5: more suggestions because I know there are a lot of
- 11:29Speaker 5: fall festivals in the DMV and we're not afraid to
- 11:31Speaker 5: drive a little far to get to a good one.
- 11:33Speaker 3: If you want to let us know where.
- 11:35Speaker 4: To check out, Yeah, so share it.
- 11:37Speaker 2: With us right now, open up the iHeart app and
- 11:39Speaker 2: tap that red microphone when you're listening to ninety seven
- 11:42Speaker 2: point one wash FM, just leave us a little message
- 11:44Speaker 2: about your favorite fall festival and the DMV.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Maybe Chili will check it out this weekend.
- 11:48Speaker 6: Shelby and Chili's nearly impossible question?
- 11:51Speaker 4: All right, what is today's question? Chili?
- 11:53Speaker 5: Forty five percent of people admit they've lied about this
- 11:56Speaker 5: on a first date?
- 11:57Speaker 3: What is it? All right?
- 11:59Speaker 2: Eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
- 12:01Speaker 2: That's eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Playing for tickets to Ildivo at Capitol one Hall on
- 12:09Speaker 2: October twenty sixth.
- 12:10Speaker 4: What's that question? Again?
- 12:12Speaker 5: Forty five percent of people admit they've lied about this
- 12:15Speaker 5: on a first date.
- 12:16Speaker 2: What is it? We have a bunch of music lined
- 12:19Speaker 2: up and the answer to the nearly impossible question.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Next, Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.
- 12:26Speaker 2: And I'm kiddo'she in for Toby. We are playing for
- 12:28Speaker 2: tickets to see Eldvo at Capital one Hall.
- 12:32Speaker 4: What is today's question?
- 12:33Speaker 5: Forty five percent of people admit they've lied about this
- 12:37Speaker 5: on a first date.
- 12:38Speaker 2: What is it?
- 12:39Speaker 4: Eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Good morning, Nancy and Sterling.
- 12:45Speaker 4: How are you today?
- 12:46Speaker 5: Doing good? How are you?
- 12:48Speaker 3: We're doing well, not bad for a Monday. You've got
- 12:51Speaker 3: the question, what do you think? The answer is fair? Age? Wow?
- 12:56Speaker 2: Now? Uh?
- 12:57Speaker 3: Have you ever fibbed about how old you were when
- 13:00Speaker 3: you were dating?
- 13:01Speaker 6: No?
- 13:03Speaker 2: I'm with you, Nancy. They're gonna find out at some
- 13:06Speaker 2: point exactly. Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 5: And which way do you lie? I wonder do you
- 13:11Speaker 5: lie and say you're older or do you lie and
- 13:13Speaker 5: say you're younger? Perhaps it depends on the person you're
- 13:15Speaker 5: going to date with, rights.
- 13:18Speaker 2: On what you're on a date with.
- 13:21Speaker 5: That's an excellent guess, Nancy, and it is the correct
- 13:25Speaker 5: to answer. Forty five percent of people admit they've lied
- 13:27Speaker 5: about their age on a first date.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Congratulations.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Oh great, and you've got an incredible ticket to Eldvo
- 13:36Speaker 2: at Capitol one Hall on October twenty sixth.

- 17:02Speaker 2: next Toby and Chilly in the morning, ninety seven point
- 17:06Speaker 2: one Wash FM, I'm kidd O'Shea, our Susan g Coman
- 17:09Speaker 2: More than Pink walk is coming up this weekend.
- 17:11Speaker 5: It's Saturday, October eleventh at National Harbor and we would
- 17:15Speaker 5: love for you to be part of the wash team
- 17:17Speaker 5: for free. You can get all the details at washfm
- 17:20Speaker 5: dot com slash pink.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I mean.
- 17:21Speaker 5: October is Breast cancer Awareness Month. And look, this is
- 17:25Speaker 5: a really really big deal, right because women are recommended
- 17:29Speaker 5: that we get mammograms every year starting at age forty,
- 17:33Speaker 5: and statistically, only about sixty five percent of women over
- 17:38Speaker 5: the age of forty are getting screened for breast cancer.
- 17:41Speaker 5: And a new study shows that women who skip their
- 17:43Speaker 5: first breast cancer screening have a forty percent higher risk
- 17:48Speaker 5: of dying from the disease later on. Okay, I don't
- 17:51Speaker 5: know about you all, but I would not want to
- 17:53Speaker 5: mess with those statistics. And if you're new to the
- 17:57Speaker 5: show or if you haven't heard me talk about this before,
- 18:00Speaker 5: I lost my mother to ovarian cancer. She was only
- 18:03Speaker 5: fifty nine years old. This was back in two thousand
- 18:05Speaker 5: and nine. At the time, my sister and I got
- 18:08Speaker 5: tested for a gene mutation Braca two gene mutation, which
- 18:13Speaker 5: if you have it and I do, increases your chances
- 18:16Speaker 5: of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. And I'm one of
- 18:20Speaker 5: those people that, you know what, Sure, I could do screenings,
- 18:23Speaker 5: but I'm gonna go one step further. And what I
- 18:26Speaker 5: felt was best for me was to get a hysterectomy
- 18:30Speaker 5: and preventive double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
- 18:36Speaker 3: So I went ahead and went through that.
- 18:38Speaker 6: And was it easy?
- 18:40Speaker 2: No?
- 18:40Speaker 3: But am I glad I did it? Yes?
- 18:42Speaker 5: Because peace of mind, just going to say, is worth
- 18:45Speaker 5: more than that. And so if you need a y,
- 18:50Speaker 5: ladies and gentlemen, because this applies to gentlemen too, then
- 18:54Speaker 5: look to your loved ones. They're gonna want you around
- 18:57Speaker 5: for longer. And please, it is very quick and it
- 19:01Speaker 5: is not as painful and scary as you may think
- 19:05Speaker 5: getting those mammograms.
- 19:06Speaker 3: So that is my PSA for today.
- 19:09Speaker 4: And I love that.
- 19:10Speaker 2: And you know, if anyone ever has any questions or
- 19:12Speaker 2: wants to chat more, reach out to ChIL on social
- 19:15Speaker 2: media and connect with Chili just search Chili and Maar
- 19:18Speaker 2: on Instagram. All right, we're going to get back to

- 19:24Speaker 2: story is coming up. A Northern Virginia high school senior

- 20:21Speaker 5: even created a Share your Story campaign that drew in
- 20:26Speaker 5: adults that we're trying to quit vaping. So her work
- 20:29Speaker 5: is grounded in compassion and an urgency, and she reminds
- 20:33Speaker 5: young people that vaping may look like it's fun, but
- 20:36Speaker 5: the damage can last for years. And although she's still
- 20:39Speaker 5: in high school, her impact is already reaching far beyond
- 20:43Speaker 5: the classroom, and she really has no plans to stop.
- 20:47Speaker 5: So we want to thank Rougei for giving us a
- 20:50Speaker 5: story that makes our Monday by creating clear lungs to
- 20:55Speaker 5: raise awareness about the dangers of vaping.
