- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Dude, they said I gotta come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:43Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in.
- 0:45Speaker 3: OTB, hour number two here on a football Friday, live
- 0:48Speaker 3: from Rouse's on Burbank and Lee.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Come hang out. Come see us. We'll be here all
- 0:55Speaker 4: show long. Had a couple people hang out. Oh, yeah. Remember?
- 1:00Speaker 4: It's all sweet little helmet. Brought a helmet if you
- 1:02Speaker 4: want us to sign it.
- 1:02Speaker 3: If you want to bring us cards like last year
- 1:05Speaker 3: and just give them to us.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Yeah, make sure they're one-on-ones. Yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I think we got, like, some numbered cards of ourselves,
- 1:11Speaker 3: which are definitely hard to find.
- 1:14Speaker 5: Definitely.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I mean, they're going for all the bunnies.
- 1:16Speaker 5: The market is hot. There is a card of me
- 1:18Speaker 5: out there for sale for a couple thousand dollars right now. No,
- 1:22Speaker 5: it's not going to get a couple hundred dollars, but
- 1:24Speaker 5: it's for sale for that, so respect that guy for trying.
- 1:28Speaker 4: What card is that?
- 1:30Speaker 5: It's a 2012 Panini Prism Gold PSA 10. Not that
- 1:37Speaker 5: I looked at it.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I'm surprised you didn't pull the trigger on that one.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Well, he's got it marked up about ten times more
- 1:47Speaker 5: than it's worth.
- 1:49Speaker 4: All right. Where did you find that at?
- 1:52Speaker 5: That's on eBay, Electronic Bay. I'm assuming that's what it
- 1:55Speaker 5: stands for.
- 1:56Speaker 4: You know what? I have no idea.
- 1:58Speaker 5: It's got to be, right?
- 1:59Speaker 3: I don't think so. They have way more electronics. I'm
- 2:05Speaker 3: actually going to see if we can lowball this guy.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Well, usually you can't offer less than 50%. He's on
- 2:09Speaker 5: sale for $ 4, 000.
- 2:10Speaker 4: $ 4, 999.
- 2:10Speaker 6: 95.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it's not even worth 10 times less. Look,
- 2:12Speaker 4: you're my guy. Yeah. I think you have to understand that. Yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 5: You're not just some guy.
- 2:25Speaker 4: You're just not some guy to me. It's not. Nope.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Ain't no way.
- 2:29Speaker 5: Nope.
- 2:30Speaker 4: It's not.
- 2:32Speaker 5: I actually bought a gold. I do own a gold,
- 2:35Speaker 5: and I got it graded myself. Okay.
- 2:37Speaker 4: So you had this card.
- 2:38Speaker 5: Well, I don't have it at 10, though. I got
- 2:41Speaker 5: it graded at 9.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Have you seen this one with you and the other quarterbacks?
- 2:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 3: It's Matt Flynn, Drew Stanton, Josh Johnson, who's still playing,
- 2:54Speaker 3: by the way, and Alex.
- 2:56Speaker 5: Alex what?
- 2:57Speaker 3: What's Alex's name here?
- 2:58Speaker 4: It's Alex Brink.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Alex Brink.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Who's Alex Brink?
- 3:01Speaker 5: I think Washington State. He was a seventh-round pick as well.
- 3:03Speaker 4: All right.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Shout out. Yeah. So I have one getting graded right
- 3:07Speaker 5: now that is a combination. So back then, they still
- 3:10Speaker 5: do it some. But back then, they did all these
- 3:11Speaker 5: combinations of rookies. There was a rookie. It's me, Matt Ryan,
- 3:16Speaker 5: Joe Flacco. I'm getting that one graded right now, which
- 3:19Speaker 5: is cool. I'm trying to get.
- 3:21Speaker 4: That is a cool card.
- 3:22Speaker 5: I'm trying to get a card right now that is
- 3:26Speaker 5: Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, myself, and Brian Brom from that year,
- 3:31Speaker 5: the rookie year. That would be a really cool one
- 3:33Speaker 5: to have. I don't want to pay what the guy
- 3:35Speaker 5: wants for it, though. So there's the problem. Am I right? Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 3: If it makes you feel better, my most expensive.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Card, $ 149.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Hey, babe.
- 3:48Speaker 5: Hey, babe.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Hey, babe.
- 3:52Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Oh, I have a triple lotto. It's me, Peyton Hillis,
- 3:57Speaker 3: and Owen Schmidt.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Oh, I got to get this.
- 3:59Speaker 5: You can't. That's a lot of money, though, for that.
- 4:01Speaker 4: 104? I mean. That's three fullbacks.
- 4:04Speaker 3: When's the next time three fullbacks are going to be
- 4:06Speaker 3: on a card?
- 4:09Speaker 4: Right?
- 4:10Speaker 5: You're right.
- 4:10Speaker 4: They call that a relic.
- 4:11Speaker 5: They call that a grail.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Hell, yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 5: That's a lot of money.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Tell the people something fun while I bid on this card.
- 4:19Speaker 5: I mean, there's no way you're offering more than 15
- 4:21Speaker 5: for that, right? I don't even see where it's. I
- 4:24Speaker 5: think it's just buy it now. You got to message them. Oh,
- 4:26Speaker 5: that's Com-C. So they're big.
- 4:28Speaker 4: I don't know what that means.
- 4:30Speaker 5: It's a big company that's like a third-party consigner.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Are you saying they're not going to negotiate? They don't
- 4:36Speaker 4: negotiate over there. The price is the price.
- 4:38Speaker 5: So a lot of our old cards will be with
- 4:40Speaker 5: them as a consignor.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Can't negotiate.
- 4:45Speaker 4: All right.
- 4:45Speaker 3: There's one with me and Jamal Charles, $ 69. 83.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Okay. Fun fact. Jamal Charles, a little bit better of
- 4:53Speaker 4: a running back than me.
- 4:55Speaker 5: That is fun.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I did block a punt when he was the wing
- 4:59Speaker 3: and scooped and scored it.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Not a big deal. It's not that big of a deal.
- 5:02Speaker 5: That's pretty good.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Did the punt before.
- 5:05Speaker 3: He just free released and got out there and left
- 5:07Speaker 3: me by about 17 yards in the dust.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Yep.
- 5:10Speaker 4: That happened as well. Nobody remembers that one. You look
- 5:13Speaker 4: down at your short stubby legs and you're like, why legs? Why?
- 5:16Speaker 4: I didn't even blame my legs. Be faster. I knew beforehand.
- 5:20Speaker 4: That was God.
- 5:20Speaker 5: That was God.
- 5:22Speaker 4: That was God. It was God telling me.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness.
- 5:25Speaker 4: All right.
- 5:26Speaker 3: We do have a full slate of college football games
- 5:30Speaker 3: as well. You know, game day, Texas and Ohio State.
- 5:34Speaker 3: But we're going to go over some of these other
- 5:35Speaker 3: big matchups. And, of course, we always want to remind
- 5:38Speaker 3: you before we get to that about our friends over
- 5:39Speaker 3: at Tommy's Windows, Doors, and Siding.
- 5:41Speaker 4: GoTommys.com. G-E-A-U-X.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Tommys with a Y.com. You'll clearly see the difference when
- 5:47Speaker 3: you work with Tommy and the team. They are the
- 5:50Speaker 3: best windows in the Advocate for 2025. They are Angie's
- 5:54Speaker 3: Super Service Award every year since 2016.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Go to GoTommys.com.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Are we talking about Tommy?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Are we talking about Yo, Tommy?
- 5:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:00Speaker 2: We are.
- 6:00Speaker 4: I mean, you've been late on the trigger there the
- 6:03Speaker 4: last couple times we've done that. Trying to keep up
- 6:06Speaker 4: with our chat. See what they're talking about. I'm just
- 6:08Speaker 4: trying to keep up with the hot spot here.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I'm being completely honest.
- 6:13Speaker 5: It's elusive. It's an elusive thing.
- 6:17Speaker 3: All right. So we've talked about the marquee matchup. It
- 6:21Speaker 3: is Texas and Ohio State. And we can get to
- 6:24Speaker 3: maybe a prediction in that game coming up in a
- 6:27Speaker 3: little bit. But we'll go across the top 25. in
- 6:30Speaker 3: college football. Number 24, Louisville, is hosting Villanova. Number 25, Virginia,
- 6:37Speaker 3: hosting Norfolk State. Missouri and Kansas in the border war.
- 6:43Speaker 3: That's going to be a fun game. Those schools don't
- 6:45Speaker 3: like each other very much.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Indiana, who has a lot to say about.
- 6:49Speaker 3: People's schedule, hosts Howard this weekend. Oregon and Oklahoma State
- 6:55Speaker 3: is in Stillwater.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Oklahoma State is a bad, bad football team.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Texas A & M is going to host Arizona State, Oklahoma,
- 7:02Speaker 3: Michigan in the big house.
- 7:05Speaker 5: It's supposed to be a good game.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Oklahoma, Michigan is very interesting.
- 7:08Speaker 3: That line is only four and a half right now
- 7:13Speaker 3: in favor of the Oklahoma Sooners.
- 7:18Speaker 4: All the monies? I need to call Lacey real quick.
- 7:22Speaker 5: I need to make a big financial move.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Um, I know not every game's the same and I do,
- 7:29Speaker 3: and I want to put this out there. Western Michigan
- 7:31Speaker 3: was a good football team last year, like to their,
- 7:33Speaker 3: you know, on.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Their level, they were a good football team. They really were.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I think Tim Lester does a really, really nice job there.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So it's not like they were playing like this awful,
- 7:41Speaker 3: awful team and they should have, well, they, they did lose,
- 7:44Speaker 3: but they gave them the win, but still I'll watch
- 7:47Speaker 3: that game. And Bryce Underwood, put your app down.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Okay, actually, put your bed in. Yeah, I'm getting my
- 7:52Speaker 4: bed in right now.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Oklahoma, we've talked about them. We think they're a really
- 7:56Speaker 3: good football team. We think they're super sound on both
- 7:59Speaker 3: sides of the football. Shocked that that line is where
- 8:03Speaker 3: it's at right now. Again, Oklahoma minus four and a half.
- 8:06Speaker 5: I guess it's the bounce back game. It's the Vegas
- 8:08Speaker 5: people thinking maybe there's some sort of you know, come
- 8:12Speaker 5: to Jesus situation, like we weren't focused. Maybe they were
- 8:14Speaker 5: looking ahead to the Oklahoma game because there was, even
- 8:17Speaker 5: before week one, people were hyping this game up. Hyping
- 8:22Speaker 5: this game up for the Michigan-Oklahoma talking about this game
- 8:26Speaker 5: might have really big implications for the playoff picture, the
- 8:29Speaker 5: bowl picture down the road.
- 8:32Speaker 4: So maybe that's the Vegas way of thinking. And I
- 8:36Speaker 4: get it.
- 8:37Speaker 5: When you're looking at sports betting and looking at lines
- 8:40Speaker 5: and stuff, usually when you feel so good about something,
- 8:43Speaker 5: it's stinky. Like, this feels like it's a stinky situation.
- 8:47Speaker 5: But I've got to lean on our predictions, how we felt,
- 8:51Speaker 5: our conversation with Jim Nagy, how we feel about John
- 8:55Speaker 5: Mateer and their offense.
- 8:57Speaker 4: With a healthy thumb.
- 8:58Speaker 5: We believe... that Oklahoma is the real deal this year.
- 9:03Speaker 5: And I don't know if everybody around the country believes that.
- 9:06Speaker 5: I think people in the SEC after SEC media days
- 9:09Speaker 5: getting together, talking about it, and hearing the players from Oklahoma,
- 9:14Speaker 5: seeing John Mateers' huge biceps, seeing all that, I think
- 9:18Speaker 5: people in the SEC kind of know. But maybe around
- 9:20Speaker 5: the country they're not quite familiar with the preseason hype
- 9:24Speaker 5: right now with Oklahoma.
- 9:25Speaker 4: So maybe that's the reason.
- 9:26Speaker 5: So we'll see. But your boy is still looking for
- 9:29Speaker 5: that game on his app.
- 9:31Speaker 4: You can't go to the search bar there, bud?
- 9:33Speaker 5: Well, I guess I could. Yeah, you definitely. I like
- 9:36Speaker 5: to just find it organically because I'm a man.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I don't like to ask for help.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Okay, you definitely could do that. Moving on because that
- 9:43Speaker 3: line is certainly one that I think you're going to
- 9:46Speaker 3: hear a little bit later on. You better jump on that.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I still like it at five and a half, by
- 9:49Speaker 3: the way. You better jump on that one. I might
- 9:52Speaker 3: alternate line that 13 and a half.
- 9:54Speaker 5: Seriously.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Penn State, number 16 team in the country, is traveling
- 9:59Speaker 3: to Tampa. Western Kentucky and Georgia in Athens. Notre Dame
- 10:04Speaker 3: is hosting Rice, another barn burner for the fighting Irish.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Number 12, Alabama, is traveling to Lexington to take on Kentucky.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Number 15, BYU, is hosting Arizona and Michigan. I'm trying
- 10:17Speaker 3: to think if that's a conference game this year. I
- 10:19Speaker 3: know they're in the same conference, but there was a
- 10:21Speaker 3: year they played where it actually did not count as
- 10:24Speaker 3: a conference game, one of those situations. Wake Forest and
- 10:27Speaker 3: North Carolina do this sometimes as well. But either way,
- 10:30Speaker 3: BYU and Arizona. Number 19, Washington hosting Utah State. 17,
- 10:35Speaker 3: SMU hosting UC Davis. Tennessee traveling to Atlanta to take
- 10:40Speaker 3: on Georgia Tech. The Southern Jaguars, they are going to
- 10:43Speaker 3: be traveling to Houston to take on the Cougs. And again,
- 10:47Speaker 3: we mentioned number one, Ohio State at number four, Texas.
- 10:50Speaker 3: That is where college game day is going to be.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And a lot of eyeballs across the country going to
- 10:54Speaker 3: be on that one. We'll come back to that one.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Number 13, Texas Tech taking on Oregon State. Iowa and
- 11:01Speaker 3: Iowa State, their rivalry game that is typically week two
- 11:04Speaker 3: of the season. Iowa 13 and a half point favorite
- 11:08Speaker 3: in that contest. Ole Miss is hosting Charlotte, who lost
- 11:11Speaker 3: to the Citadel last weekend. Number 20, Utah is hosting Arkansas.
- 11:16Speaker 3: And number 14, USC is hosting ULL. By the way,
- 11:21Speaker 3: Miami won 77-7 over FAMU last night.
- 11:25Speaker 4: So that is your top 25. What was that again? 77-7.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Oh. They shortened the fourth quarter in the game.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Really?
- 11:34Speaker 5: Like, true story. In college football?
- 11:36Speaker 4: In college football.
- 11:38Speaker 5: They did what now?
- 11:38Speaker 4: They shortened the fourth quarter. Both coaches agreed to shorten
- 11:41Speaker 4: the fourth quarter.
- 11:43Speaker 5: To what? I don't remember what the time was exactly.
- 11:45Speaker 5: They took a couple minutes off the clock?
- 11:46Speaker 4: I think that's what they did. They can do that?
- 11:48Speaker 3: I think so.
- 11:49Speaker 4: They did.
- 11:51Speaker 5: I had no idea.
- 11:52Speaker 4: This is news to me.
- 11:53Speaker 5: I had no idea you could do that in the
- 11:56Speaker 5: year of our Lord, 2026, in college football.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Yep. I guess you can do anything.
- 12:05Speaker 3: The Ohio State-Texas game is the matchup. Texas is a
- 12:08Speaker 3: point-and-a-half favorite.
- 12:10Speaker 4: It's in Austin.
- 12:12Speaker 3: These are two teams that a lot of people think
- 12:14Speaker 3: could be right back in the situation for playing for
- 12:16Speaker 3: a national championship.
- 12:18Speaker 4: That's a good line.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Remember, Ohio State got the best of Texas last year.
- 12:22Speaker 4: It was Arch Manning's first game. Didn't go well for him,
- 12:26Speaker 4: but certainly he's grown as a player. It's a great line.
- 12:30Speaker 4: It makes you want to go Ohio State. A point
- 12:33Speaker 4: and a half.
- 12:33Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 12:36Speaker 4: What's the traditional?
- 12:37Speaker 5: About three points that they give to the home team. Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 4: It's a good line.
- 12:42Speaker 5: It's a tough one to bet because, man, what is– I.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Wouldn't touch a game like that.
- 12:46Speaker 5: I wouldn't touch it, no. I'm not going to touch it.
- 12:48Speaker 5: I mean, if you just want to have some sort
- 12:50Speaker 5: of rooting interest just outside of.
- 12:52Speaker 4: The love of football and the love of the biggest
- 12:54Speaker 4: matchup of.
- 12:55Speaker 5: The year so far, like, that's a tough one to
- 13:01Speaker 5: pick because you really don't know. You don't know what
- 13:02Speaker 5: Texas is. You don't know how Arch is going to
- 13:05Speaker 5: handle this situation.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 5: You kind of know what Ohio State is because they've
- 13:09Speaker 5: been the epitome of just consistency.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:13Speaker 5: A quarterback that was a Heisman finalist. And you've done
- 13:17Speaker 5: the things at Ohio State that Texas wants to do.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Texas is trying to be that. They're trying to be
- 13:23Speaker 5: that consistency and get that type of quarterback play week in,
- 13:27Speaker 5: week out. And they certainly got the skill and the
- 13:29Speaker 5: talent to do it. I think Ohio State goes down
- 13:32Speaker 5: to Austin and wins this game, though. I do. Am
- 13:36Speaker 5: I basing that on a whole heck of a lot? No,
- 13:39Speaker 5: I'm just basing it on the fact that I don't
- 13:41Speaker 5: think that Texas has ever– I think it's hard for
- 13:46Speaker 5: them to live up to the hype for whatever reason.
- 13:48Speaker 5: I don't know why. I don't know if it's– I
- 13:50Speaker 5: think Steve Sarkeesian is a fantastic coach. Do I think
- 13:53Speaker 5: he is a head coach that can get him to
- 13:56Speaker 5: the national championship? I don't know. I know he's a
- 13:58Speaker 5: play caller that can. I know he's like an offensive
- 14:00Speaker 5: mind that can. But is he a head coach that
- 14:03Speaker 5: can do it?
- 14:04Speaker 4: He's got to prove it.
- 14:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Will Muschamp. He's got no excuses.
- 14:08Speaker 3: And Will Muschamp's back as his defensive coordinator.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 14:10Speaker 5: He's got absolutely zero excuses for not being able.
- 14:14Speaker 4: To do it. Yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Whether it's this year, whether it's next year, you've got
- 14:19Speaker 5: to do it at some point because you've got all
- 14:22Speaker 5: the talent in the world.
- 14:23Speaker 4: You've got all the resources in the world.
- 14:25Speaker 5: You've got Will Muschamp, who's a proven, fantastic defensive coordinator.
- 14:30Speaker 5: So we'll see. They're going to have to prove it.
- 14:33Speaker 5: They're going to have to get it done.
- 14:34Speaker 4: With no excuses, and I don't think they can do it.
- 14:38Speaker 2: All right.
- 14:38Speaker 3: That is, of course, the game of the week, number
- 14:41Speaker 3: one versus number four. College game day is there. And,
- 14:45Speaker 3: of course, college game day going to be right back
- 14:48Speaker 3: around LSU next week.
- 14:48Speaker 5: I do want to comment on this. Someone in the
- 14:49Speaker 5: chat said, give me Texas. I think they got the
- 14:52Speaker 5: Texas at home and with the better QB. There is
- 14:55Speaker 5: absolutely nothing we've seen at– Either one of these quarterbacks
- 15:01Speaker 5: that says Arch is a better quarterback. Julian Sayen was
- 15:03Speaker 5: at the Heisman ceremony last year. And, you know, I
- 15:06Speaker 5: think he's going to be there probably again this year. Now,
- 15:09Speaker 5: do I think Arch has a better higher ceiling? I'm
- 15:13Speaker 5: assuming he is because of his family, right?
- 15:16Speaker 4: That's what we're assuming.
- 15:17Speaker 5: And he's got all the talent in the world. So
- 15:20Speaker 5: maybe that ceiling is higher. But as of right now.
- 15:24Speaker 5: He has not been the better quarterback of those two.
- 15:27Speaker 5: And that's not a knock on anybody because, again, Heisman finalist.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Pretty good quarterback.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah, he is.
- 15:33Speaker 3: And it is going to be a good quarterback matchup.
- 15:36Speaker 3: But to just dismiss Julian Sayen, I think it would
- 15:40Speaker 3: be disrespectful to the season he had last year and
- 15:42Speaker 3: the season we expect him to.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Have this year.
- 15:44Speaker 3: All right, that is your top 25. Of course, later
- 15:47Speaker 3: on in the show, we'll play What's the Ticket? That
- 15:51Speaker 3: one's probably going to figure into it. We're going to
- 15:53Speaker 3: have the pontoon parlay, all of those different things that
- 15:56Speaker 3: we like to do. We'll go down the full NFL
- 15:59Speaker 3: slate as well. Still a lot coming your way. Richard
- 16:02Speaker 3: Dick Dixon told me he wanted to swing by. I
- 16:05Speaker 3: don't know what time that is. Early bird gets some

- 16:10Speaker 3: what time he's going to join us as well. All
- 16:12Speaker 3: of that coming back your way when we jump back

- 17:52Speaker 3: in that.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Well, we're listening.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I know, but you need the background music a little
- 17:57Speaker 4: bit to go with. You really got to remember to
- 18:02Speaker 4: turn that down. Why? Turn it off.
- 18:05Speaker 5: I was going to. No, you weren't.
- 18:07Speaker 4: It was on for a split second. You forgot.
- 18:09Speaker 5: You put your big-ass finger in there and turned it off.
- 18:12Speaker 3: I've already serenaded you with Lifehouse this morning.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I'm surprised you're not.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Singing JT right now. Rouse is playing JT. They've got
- 18:20Speaker 5: a hell of a playlist going on.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Because they appreciate Future Sex Love Sounds. 20-year anniversary on
- 18:27Speaker 3: September the 8th the other day.
- 18:28Speaker 5: You know who else appreciates it? My sushi guy.
- 18:31Speaker 4: He's here. He's here.
- 18:33Speaker 5: He had a rough morning, I think. He was here
- 18:36Speaker 5: a little bit later. Maybe he couldn't get in the door.
- 18:39Speaker 4: The walkie-talkie wasn't there. But I tell you what, he's
- 18:42Speaker 4: making that sushi now.
- 18:44Speaker 5: I'm fired up. I'm glad he's here. I was a
- 18:46Speaker 5: little worried for him. He's back, baby.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Like he never left.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Yep.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Dick Dixon did say he's almost here.
- 18:56Speaker 5: I do find it a technique for a sushi guy.
- 18:59Speaker 5: He starts with avocados. Because you've got to think, it's
- 19:02Speaker 5: tough to get a good ripe avocado. It's perfect.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Right.
- 19:05Speaker 5: But for sushi, you've got to have a good schedule
- 19:09Speaker 5: of when these things are going to ripen up.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Right.
- 19:11Speaker 5: He starts.
- 19:12Speaker 4: He goes through a lot of avocado sushi.
- 19:15Speaker 3: You think he'll care if we go grab a roll?
- 19:16Speaker 3: I'm starving.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Well, but we're in a grocery store.
- 19:20Speaker 4: I know. You ever heard that?
- 19:22Speaker 5: Your mom is so stupid she starved to death in
- 19:23Speaker 5: a grocery store? That's you right now.
- 19:25Speaker 4: No, I know.
- 19:26Speaker 3: But I'm saying I'm just going to go take one,
- 19:28Speaker 3: and then I'll pay for it after the show.
- 19:30Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:31Speaker 4: I'm hungry now. I think it's kind of part of
- 19:34Speaker 4: the gig. Oh, you think?
- 19:36Speaker 5: I think you can just go get something. Part of
- 19:38Speaker 5: the gig. Part of the sponsorship. We just assume. Yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 5: That's on the house, right? I mean, I kind of
- 19:45Speaker 5: had some biscuits and gravy last year.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. You definitely did. Some bacon.
- 19:51Speaker 5: I might not have told anybody.
- 19:52Speaker 3: No.
- 19:52Speaker 5: I just figured it was part of the sponsorship.
- 19:54Speaker 4: I think it is.
- 19:55Speaker 5: I mean, I think so.
- 19:55Speaker 4: I think it is.
- 19:56Speaker 3: And if it's not, you can bill Matt Moscona, 929
- 19:59Speaker 3: Government Street.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
- 20:01Speaker 4: I thought you were about to give his phone number out.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I was like, you started saying numbers. I was like,
- 20:07Speaker 5: hold up.
- 20:07Speaker 4: 225- I wouldn't do that to him. Of course not.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I do it to Hunt, though. Hunt is 3-1-8.
- 20:19Speaker 5: God, now they're playing seal.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Actually, Hunt better have a 3-1-8 number still. I'm going
- 20:24Speaker 3: to be very disappointed in him. What seal song are
- 20:27Speaker 3: they playing?
- 20:28Speaker 4: I can't hear. Hey, look.
- 20:29Speaker 5: I saw this today. I'm a napkin holder.
- 20:31Speaker 4: All right.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Where is it at?
- 20:32Speaker 3: Hunt 3-1-8.
- 20:33Speaker 4: He's still good. Okay.
- 20:34Speaker 5: So today is Friday here, Ralph. So they got full
- 20:37Speaker 5: slab Fridays. That's a slab of ribs, bud.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yep. I got that barbecue pit master out there.
- 20:43Speaker 3: They do.
- 20:43Speaker 5: A little bit for lunch. Going to be cooking up
- 20:45Speaker 5: these ribs. Full slab Fridays. Going to get you a
- 20:47Speaker 5: slab of ribs today.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Going to get your tailgating packages as well.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 20:52Speaker 3: If you're, you know, going to the La Tech game.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Yes. You're wondering, what are we going to do for
- 20:56Speaker 4: the tailgate? Yeah. They take all of that questioning out
- 21:00Speaker 4: of the process.
- 21:01Speaker 5: You have to think about it. And if you're like, no,
- 21:02Speaker 5: I don't want prepared food. I want to cook my stuff.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Well.
- 21:05Speaker 5: They got all the best groceries, all the best brands
- 21:07Speaker 5: right here. The fresh meat, the fresh everything. And, oh, yeah,
- 21:12Speaker 5: stay hydrated, too. Come get your Maihai at all your
- 21:15Speaker 5: Rouser stores. Stay hydrated. Make it like a nice little
- 21:20Speaker 5: Maihai cocktail as well.
- 21:21Speaker 4: What do you mix that with, Bo?
- 21:24Speaker 5: Anything, really. You can make a Maihai Mai Tai. You
- 21:27Speaker 5: can make a, you can do a mimosa. You just
- 21:29Speaker 5: put a little orange and some champagne. We've done that before.
- 21:32Speaker 4: And then just vodka soda, a little whoo-hoo. Are you
- 21:35Speaker 4: going to the game this weekend?
- 21:37Speaker 5: Which one?
- 21:38Speaker 4: The LSU-Louisiana Tech.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I know.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I'm not going to make this one. 0-2. Oh, no.
- 21:44Speaker 5: I'm going to watch it. I'll 2-2.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Nope. 0-2 and putting your feet in the stadium. Are
- 21:49Speaker 4: you going to Ole Miss game next weekend? No, I'm
- 21:52Speaker 4: not going to Oxford.
- 21:53Speaker 3: 0-3.
- 21:53Speaker 5: Okay.
- 21:54Speaker 3: What about the Texas A & M game?
- 21:56Speaker 5: Well, TBD.
- 21:59Speaker 2: TBD.
- 21:59Speaker 4: We'll see what the weather does. If it's cool, I'll go.
- 22:01Speaker 4: It is funny.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 22:02Speaker 3: I can't tell you the amount of people last weekend
- 22:04Speaker 3: that saw me and they're like, where's Flynn? Almost like
- 22:08Speaker 3: we're like a tandem that can't go anywhere.
- 22:10Speaker 5: I don't know what to do without you.
- 22:12Speaker 3: I was like, well, I'm definitely Batman. He's definitely Robin.
- 22:15Speaker 4: I'm fine with that. When it comes to hosting radio,
- 22:19Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I knew you were going to say that, so I
- 22:22Speaker 3: did it. All right, we did quickly want to go
- 22:25Speaker 3: over the NFL slate. We broke down the Saints and
- 22:29Speaker 3: Lions a little bit earlier in the show. Some intriguing matchups.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Five games this week, division rivals. And I had a
- 22:38Speaker 3: caller call.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Into the show yesterday, and he's like, I don't really
- 22:41Speaker 4: like that. He's like, you know, kind of ease into it.
- 22:43Speaker 4: I go, there's no easing into the NFL. It doesn't
- 22:46Speaker 4: matter who you're playing. There's no easing into it.
- 22:50Speaker 3: And then I started thinking about some of the the
- 22:53Speaker 3: slop that we have in college football to open up
- 22:56Speaker 3: the season.
- 22:57Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't, are you kidding? I don't want
- 22:59Speaker 4: any of that.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Like NFL matchups or NFL matchups, but I like the
- 23:03Speaker 3: fact that we've got division games. You and I, you know,
- 23:06Speaker 3: started a season against an sec team one time and
- 23:09Speaker 3: it was Mississippi state.
- 23:10Speaker 4: They were bad.
- 23:10Speaker 3: They were not a good football team, but it was
- 23:12Speaker 3: still an sec team. And we use that all off season. Hey,
- 23:15Speaker 3: you better get ready. You got a conference game on
- 23:17Speaker 3: the road, Thursday night, everybody's watching all those types of things.
- 23:20Speaker 3: So I didn't agree with that, and I think we've
- 23:22Speaker 3: got a great slate in the National Football League. We'll
- 23:26Speaker 3: quickly go across it here. It is the Buccaneers traveling
- 23:30Speaker 3: to the Bengals.
- 23:30Speaker 5: You can't ease into the NFL season. You just had
- 23:32Speaker 5: a Super Bowl rematch.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you had a bad ace division rival
- 23:40Speaker 3: matchup last night, yesterday.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Tomorrow, whatever that was.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Buccaneers and Bengals in Cincinnati. That's going to be a
- 23:47Speaker 3: fun game. That is, I think, the biggest— Point total
- 23:50Speaker 3: in the league this weekend, 50-and-a-half is that number. Of course,
- 23:53Speaker 3: we've talked about it. The Saints traveling to Detroit to
- 23:55Speaker 3: take on the Lions. How about this point total, 38-and-a-half,
- 23:59Speaker 3: a friends-and-family type game here between the New York Jets
- 24:02Speaker 3: and the Tennessee Titans in Nashville.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Fifteen bucks. Fifteen bucks. Fifteen bucks. Little man put that
- 24:12Speaker 4: in my hand.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Where's that one from?
- 24:14Speaker 4: Jay and Silent Bob.
- 24:15Speaker 3: $ 15 gets you into that game, by the way.
- 24:20Speaker 4: You've got the Ravens and Colts in Indianapolis.
- 24:23Speaker 3: You've got the Falcons and Steelers in Pittsburgh.
- 24:27Speaker 4: You've got the Bears and Panthers in Charlotte.
- 24:30Speaker 3: The Browns and the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Actually, I think
- 24:35Speaker 3: they're playing somewhere else this year because they're doing renovations
- 24:38Speaker 3: on their stadium. Either way, that is a home game
- 24:40Speaker 3: for the Jags.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Bill's Texans in Houston.
- 24:46Speaker 5: I think last time they played was in the playoffs,
- 24:48Speaker 5: and the Texans sacked Josh Allen six times, I think.
- 24:51Speaker 3: The Bills are a point-and-a-half favorite on the road against
- 24:55Speaker 3: the Houston Texans. That could be a preview of the
- 24:58Speaker 3: AFC championship game.
- 25:01Speaker 5: We didn't get to Super Bowl picks before the season started,
- 25:05Speaker 5: but the Houston Texans are my pick to make the
- 25:08Speaker 5: Super Bowl out of the AFC.
- 25:09Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 25:10Speaker 5: I'm either.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Because I'm either going Bills or Texans, so it's funny
- 25:13Speaker 3: that this game's in week number one.
- 25:15Speaker 5: Because even if C.J. Stroud, so he played like a
- 25:17Speaker 5: JV quarterback last year. Even if he plays just like
- 25:20Speaker 5: a varsity high school quarterback this year, they have an
- 25:23Speaker 5: opportunity to make the playoffs because that defense is so good.
- 25:26Speaker 5: And they've done some, I mean, they've got, they have
- 25:30Speaker 5: given C.J. Stroud everything he needs around him.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Running back, new receiver, like he's a, trade for Boutte,
- 25:40Speaker 5: like right there at the end. He has got– they
- 25:43Speaker 5: got the best roster, one of the best rosters in
- 25:45Speaker 5: the NFL.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 5: In my opinion.
- 25:47Speaker 4: No, I'm right there with you. Yeah, no, I'm right
- 25:49Speaker 4: there with you.
- 25:49Speaker 3: I think they are my pick out of the AFC
- 25:52Speaker 3: to make it to the Super Bowl. You think the
- 25:53Speaker 3: Patriots are like, we traded Keyshawn Booty?
- 25:56Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Oh, it's weird.
- 25:57Speaker 3: You can't really have a surplus in the NFL. It's
- 25:59Speaker 3: not really how it works.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Yeah, no.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yeah, what– A.J. Brown's injury is?
- 26:04Speaker 4: A couple weeks.
- 26:05Speaker 5: A couple weeks?
- 26:06Speaker 4: A couple weeks. High ankle sprain. Originally, they were like,
- 26:08Speaker 4: I don't know if it's an Achilles or not.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it ended up being a high ankle sprain,
- 26:12Speaker 3: but multiple weeks, and then Romeo Dobbs didn't look good.
- 26:14Speaker 4: It's one game, but we'll see where they go there.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Let me ask you this. So the Steelers are hosting
- 26:21Speaker 5: the Falcons, right?
- 26:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Yes.
- 26:25Speaker 5: The news yesterday, Tua is injured now?
- 26:27Speaker 4: He's got an oblique injury.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Is this a Cooper Rush game to start the year?
- 26:31Speaker 3: Cooper Rush took every rep with the first team. Jack
- 26:34Speaker 3: Strand is an undrafted free agent.
- 26:36Speaker 4: That they love.
- 26:38Speaker 3: They got four quarterbacks on the active. Well, of course
- 26:40Speaker 3: they love him.
- 26:41Speaker 5: They've been watching Tua go out there. Well, they hadn't
- 26:46Speaker 5: been watching Pennix.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Well, Pennix at least done 7-on-7 and stuff. But Pennix
- 26:49Speaker 3: said himself that he's not ready to go. Tua hurts
- 26:51Speaker 3: his oblique in practice. So Cooper rushed. So you need
- 26:55Speaker 3: to rush to the betting window.
- 26:58Speaker 5: And bet the Steelers.
- 26:59Speaker 4: I see what you did there.
- 27:00Speaker 5: What was the line?
- 27:01Speaker 4: Five and a half, Pittsburgh.
- 27:04Speaker 5: I don't know if I got any more money left
- 27:05Speaker 5: over that Oklahoma bet.
- 27:08Speaker 3: It is another friends and family game, Dolphins and Raiders.
- 27:13Speaker 3: You've got the Packers at the Minnesota Vikings, the Commanders
- 27:17Speaker 3: at the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 27:19Speaker 4: The Arizona Cardinals and the L.A. Chargers.
- 27:22Speaker 3: And then Sunday night football is the Cowboys at Giants.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Monday night, a game that I think is going to
- 27:28Speaker 3: be a really, really good one, Denver Broncos.
- 27:31Speaker 4: At the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Oh, that's fun.
- 27:34Speaker 3: So, yeah, the cheapest ticket in the NFL this weekend is,
- 27:37Speaker 3: it's not even close, it's that $ 15 game between the
- 27:41Speaker 3: Jets and the Titans.
- 27:42Speaker 5: That's not great, man.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Oh, boy.
- 27:46Speaker 5: Just a rough one. We just need a new team.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Expansion team, please. Just get rid of the Jets.
- 27:50Speaker 4: You know what?
- 27:51Speaker 3: I tried to pop a joke off, but I think
- 27:53Speaker 3: I was dead wrong. I said friends and family game,
- 27:55Speaker 3: Dolphins and Raiders, because it's the highest ticket in the NFL.
- 28:00Speaker 5: In Las Vegas?
- 28:00Speaker 2: $ 208 to.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Get two feet into the stadium for the Raiders and
- 28:05Speaker 3: the Dolphins.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Raiders fans are great. They show up.
- 28:09Speaker 3: I'll give them that.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:12Speaker 5: Nicest thing I'll ever see. And look, there's a lot
- 28:14Speaker 5: to be excited about for the Raiders, I guess. I mean,
- 28:17Speaker 5: you've got the number one pick.
- 28:19Speaker 3: You're not going to see him play.
- 28:21Speaker 5: I guess Brock Bowers isn't going to play either.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Nope.
- 28:24Speaker 3: He had a meniscus cleanup, which makes me a little
- 28:26Speaker 3: nervous sometimes.
- 28:27Speaker 4: But it is a fun stadium to get to. And
- 28:30Speaker 4: he was considered to maybe be out.
- 28:33Speaker 3: So I feel Dick Dixon's presence.
- 28:36Speaker 5: His aura.
- 28:37Speaker 4: I feel his aura.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Is he farming?
- 28:39Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:39Speaker 5: Oh, there he is.
- 28:40Speaker 4: I knew I felt him. Oh, hey, buddy. I knew
- 28:41Speaker 4: I felt him.
- 28:43Speaker 5: You look so old bending over to pick.
- 28:45Speaker 4: That chair up. Oh, my God.
- 28:46Speaker 3: You, like, literally used your hamstrings to bend that right then.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Wow. All right.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Let's do this. Let's take a break. We can come back.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Dixon is going to join us.
- 28:57Speaker 4: We'll talk a little football. I'm sure we'll get into

- 30:31Speaker 7: she's gone And she's always gone too long Anytime she.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Goes away.
- 30:42Speaker 7: Wonder this time where she's gone.

- 31:03Speaker 1: Tigers turn talkers. This is Off the Bench.
- 31:14Speaker 7: .
- 31:15Speaker 5: Welcome back in.
- 31:18Speaker 3: OTB here live from Rouse's.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Got a couple things going on.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Richard Dick Dixon, we put him in the timeout chair here.
- 31:26Speaker 5: Should we go down in our chairs?
- 31:29Speaker 4: No.
- 31:31Speaker 3: I am not a very tall fella, and so I'm
- 31:33Speaker 3: already pretty low here.
- 31:34Speaker 4: On this deal. Small chairs.
- 31:37Speaker 3: We also had, so if you missed it earlier in
- 31:39Speaker 3: the week, we were putting a little bit of a
- 31:41Speaker 3: bounty out. We had Hester and Flynn jerseys in the wild.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Somebody took a picture of it, and we got a
- 31:48Speaker 3: chance to meet them. They're here at Rouse's with us,
- 31:50Speaker 3: and so we had a chance to take a picture,
- 31:52Speaker 3: sign some jerseys, and I got a little care package
- 31:55Speaker 3: for them, and I'm going to send it to them,
- 31:56Speaker 3: little hats and T-shirts, and we appreciate the support of
- 32:00Speaker 3: Team OTB.
- 32:01Speaker 2: While y'all were taking the pictures, I thought I was
- 32:02Speaker 2: going to have to bring us in. I was like,
- 32:03Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 32:04Speaker 4: I'm about to go get back in the truck.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought you were just going to go solo
- 32:07Speaker 5: for this segment.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Floppy Mike. Poppy Mike.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Matt's not bringing it back to segment either.
- 32:13Speaker 2: No, so he gets on there and you're the last one.
- 32:14Speaker 5: I'm like, Matt?
- 32:16Speaker 4: Matt? No?
- 32:17Speaker 5: We had to do, Richard and I did the whole
- 32:19Speaker 5: show all three hours last year when you were puking
- 32:22Speaker 5: your guts out like a selfish guy.
- 32:24Speaker 3: We did do that. I thought about this morning. Can
- 32:26Speaker 3: I make myself puke?
- 32:29Speaker 4: It's not fun. I'm really tired. With those big-ass fingers?
- 32:32Speaker 3: I'm really tired. I had to watch my son's team
- 32:35Speaker 3: get beat up on last night. We didn't get home
- 32:37Speaker 3: until late.
- 32:38Speaker 5: Who did they play?
- 32:38Speaker 4: A Madison Prep.
- 32:39Speaker 3: 38-21.
- 32:39Speaker 4: It wasn't great, Coach.
- 32:42Speaker 3: It wasn't great. I'll tell you what, though. I'll give
- 32:46Speaker 3: Knox Kiffin his credit. He fought to the very last play.
- 32:50Speaker 3: He ran like a 60-yard touchdown, like one of the
- 32:52Speaker 3: last plays of the game, broke a bunch of tackles. Awesome.
- 32:55Speaker 3: He gave what he had.
- 32:56Speaker 5: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Gave what he had.
- 32:58Speaker 3: So it was kind of, you know, it's cool to
- 32:59Speaker 3: see a kid go out there and, you.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Know, the clock hits triple zero. Heck, yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 5: That's great.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I love it. What's up, sir? How we doing?
- 33:06Speaker 2: Oh, I'm trying to figure out this floppy mic.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Good luck. Here, let's see. And you kind of get
- 33:10Speaker 4: a little bend to it.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Oh, you're a professional.
- 33:13Speaker 4: Oh, man, it fell. It stood for a little bit.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Not much, man.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Just looking forward to the weekend. Got a little live
- 33:20Speaker 2: Oak versus Santa Ma.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Thank you game Saturday morning.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Heck yeah, you do.
- 33:25Speaker 2: And then I'm hoping to watch us score more than
- 33:27Speaker 2: 23 points against Louisiana Tech.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah, last year it was 23-7, but it didn't even
- 33:31Speaker 3: feel like 23-7.
- 33:31Speaker 2: It felt like we got our butts whipped.
- 33:33Speaker 3: It really did. It really did. I was like, wait
- 33:35Speaker 3: a minute. Is Mason Hitt out there playing defensive line again?
- 33:40Speaker 4: That's a deep cut. Mason Hitt. That's a deep cut.
- 33:43Speaker 4: That's a very, very deep cut.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I need to get two sacks in a game.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I did.
- 33:47Speaker 4: He did against us. But that was like brother on
- 33:49Speaker 4: brother hate.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I mean, that was Mason versus Lyle.
- 33:51Speaker 4: I know.
- 33:51Speaker 5: It was. Shout out, Lyle.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Pretty cool. That's got a pretty fun story that was. But, yeah,
- 33:57Speaker 4: 23-7 last year. It was clunky. It was a mess.
- 33:59Speaker 3: You never felt like you were in control of the.
- 34:02Speaker 4: Game against Louisiana Tech.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Now, Louisiana Tech, I do want to say, they're not
- 34:06Speaker 3: directional school you.
- 34:07Speaker 4: They're better than that.
- 34:08Speaker 3: But still, you should not have a game like you
- 34:10Speaker 3: did a year ago against them. And so I am
- 34:13Speaker 3: fully expecting and hoping– that they take care of business,
- 34:17Speaker 3: they play with the same intensity, they play with the
- 34:19Speaker 3: same execution. And like Lane Kivens talked about a couple times,
- 34:22Speaker 3: he thinks there's things they need to continue to do better.
- 34:25Speaker 3: And so that's what you hope in a game, that
- 34:26Speaker 3: you go out there and you do what you're supposed
- 34:28Speaker 3: to do in a game like this.
- 34:29Speaker 2: No, I like what Lane said then, I think it
- 34:32Speaker 2: was Monday, when everybody was talking about no sacks, no
- 34:35Speaker 2: negative plays, no tackles for loss. And he goes, yeah,
- 34:37Speaker 2: but when you have a quarterback that moves like that
- 34:38Speaker 2: and a running back that's.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Powerful, that hides a lot of problems.
- 34:40Speaker 2: And when you go back and watch the film, there
- 34:42Speaker 2: was a lot of leakage up the middle that they
- 34:43Speaker 2: were able to escape.
- 34:46Speaker 3: I guess I'm scarred, Flynn, from last year in the
- 34:49Speaker 3: offensive line play because I'm kind of like you. Like,
- 34:51Speaker 3: I watched it, and I'm like, I didn't see a ton,
- 34:55Speaker 3: but maybe it's because it was so bad a year ago.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Maybe so.
- 34:58Speaker 3: That we just, like, we lowered our expectations.
- 35:00Speaker 2: And maybe a lot.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Of that came in towards the second half.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Right.
- 35:03Speaker 5: At some point in the second half. But first half,
- 35:06Speaker 5: I saw one misplot.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:08Speaker 2: There was a big scramble that he kind of split
- 35:10Speaker 2: between two of the D-tackles that got up on him.
- 35:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 2: There was another one in the end, came clean, he
- 35:14Speaker 2: pushed forward.
- 35:15Speaker 4: There was one, yeah.
- 35:16Speaker 2: It wasn't a lot. You know, we're nitpicking at this point.
- 35:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Because I talked about it.
- 35:20Speaker 5: Because Lane said this week, he's like, we got to
- 35:22Speaker 5: improve on the guard play. That is like ultimate coach's speak,
- 35:26Speaker 5: trying to like find something to improve on. Because... The
- 35:29Speaker 5: offensive line played very damn good.
- 35:31Speaker 2: It played amazing compared to what we've seen the last
- 35:33Speaker 2: two years. But, I mean, I like just like his
- 35:36Speaker 2: halftime speech. I mean, he's not just letting anybody get
- 35:39Speaker 2: pats on the backs right now.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I mean, he's got to get it perfected. And that's
- 35:45Speaker 2: what your coach has to say. I mean, that's perfect.
- 35:47Speaker 2: People are like, oh, I mean, that's kind of rough.
- 35:49Speaker 2: They're up 31-3. I'm like, I love every second of it.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Oh, that's great. It was so good. Right.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Like, I say it all the time because it's my
- 35:55Speaker 3: favorite thing. Rich Passaccia, who, funny enough, was coaching for Clemson,
- 35:59Speaker 3: I got it gets me and you fired.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Yeah. So when you say I got it, like, oh,
- 36:03Speaker 4: we're good. We got it.
- 36:04Speaker 3: That's when you get in trouble. And so I'm right
- 36:06Speaker 3: there with you. Don't let that ever kind of creep
- 36:08Speaker 3: into the locker room. And, you know, there is things
- 36:11Speaker 3: that you can work on. You can continue to grow
- 36:13Speaker 3: as you get ready to head to Oxford, Mississippi, as
- 36:16Speaker 3: we know, like, you know, the coaches and players, they
- 36:19Speaker 3: don't put the cart before the horse. We can a
- 36:21Speaker 3: little bit. That's a marquee matchup. That is going to
- 36:23Speaker 3: be everything. that everybody talks about next week. College game
- 36:27Speaker 3: day is going to be there. LSU is the villain.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin coming back to town. Somebody was telling me
- 36:32Speaker 3: they're trying to get the National Guard to show up
- 36:36Speaker 3: to the game. Somebody told me that is truly how deep.
- 36:40Speaker 4: That they're going.
- 36:40Speaker 5: You're going?
- 36:41Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. We're leaving Thursday.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Seems like two of us are going to be there.
- 36:44Speaker 5: Nice.
- 36:46Speaker 4: I was there last weekend, too. If you weren't.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Calling the game, you wouldn't be in Oxford either.
- 36:51Speaker 4: You don't know that. I do know that.
- 36:53Speaker 3: No, you don't know that.
- 36:54Speaker 4: You can't speak in absolutes on that.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Cassie, you going to the game in Oxford next weekend?
- 36:58Speaker 4: You are?
- 36:59Speaker 5: Cool.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Three to four.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Wow.
- 37:01Speaker 4: She's off camera.
- 37:03Speaker 2: She's off camera. Don't say that.
- 37:05Speaker 4: No, we've got the RV loaded up.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 4: We're bringing the RV. I mean, you're from Mississippi.
- 37:09Speaker 3: That makes all the sense in the world.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got a group of guys from Ocean Springs
- 37:12Speaker 2: going up. Then I've got a group of guys from
- 37:14Speaker 2: here that we're bringing up the RV on Thursday. We're
- 37:16Speaker 2: towing the Jeep. We're going to make a weekend out
- 37:18Speaker 2: of it.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Like, where are you going to stay if you go
- 37:19Speaker 4: up there?
- 37:20Speaker 2: So, we've got a campground like 30 minutes outside of town.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I was about to say, yeah.
- 37:24Speaker 3: So, I wonder where LSU will stay because.
- 37:28Speaker 2: They usually stay in Memphis, don't they?
- 37:29Speaker 4: So, in the past– That's where we stayed. We stayed
- 37:32Speaker 4: in Memphis.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Now– The last couple of years I've been traveling with
- 37:37Speaker 3: the team, anytime we play Mississippi State or Ole Miss,
- 37:40Speaker 3: we stay in the same place in Tupelo.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Split the difference.
- 37:43Speaker 3: So I'm not sure if that's going to be the
- 37:45Speaker 3: case again, if they're staying in Tupelo, if they're going
- 37:47Speaker 3: to go back up north like we used to.
- 37:48Speaker 5: So I'm not sure.
- 37:49Speaker 2: No, that was Arkansas. We go to the Peabody and
- 37:51Speaker 2: then do the Duck Walk?
- 37:52Speaker 4: Yes.
- 37:54Speaker 2: No, no.
- 37:54Speaker 4: That was Memphis.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Yeah, that was Memphis.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. You're right.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Matt, which famous musician was born in Tupelo, Mississippi? Oh, God.
- 38:04Speaker 4: The king?
- 38:04Speaker 5: One that I don't like.
- 38:05Speaker 4: The king?
- 38:06Speaker 5: One that was ever in. It stole his dance moves. Yeah, sure.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Sure, that stupid podcast that you and T-Bob listened to. Uh-huh. Meh.
- 38:15Speaker 4: That was y'all. Sheep. Oh, God. Oh, that's a conversation
- 38:21Speaker 4: you want to start, bud.
- 38:22Speaker 2: No.
- 38:23Speaker 4: We've had this before, and I win this every time.
- 38:25Speaker 5: It's fine.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I am excited you're going to the game. That'll be fun.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Don't get any fights.
- 38:30Speaker 2: No, I'm not. I'm going there to watch them.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Yeah. Watch them. They will be there.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I was telling Matt, it's like it's one of those
- 38:37Speaker 3: press boxes where you kind of got to go through
- 38:41Speaker 3: the crowd to get to the press elevator to go
- 38:43Speaker 3: to the press box. And, you know, I'm going to
- 38:46Speaker 3: have a purple polo on. And you know me, I
- 38:48Speaker 3: hate confrontation.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean, you're going to have an easy escape.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Oh, please don't say anything to me, y'all.
- 38:55Speaker 4: Please. Like, I want to stay as neutral as possible.
- 38:58Speaker 3: My confrontation meter just, it's, and it's not good.
- 39:01Speaker 4: It's not like I'm bragging about it.
- 39:02Speaker 3: I don't like that it's so high. I'm like, one
- 39:06Speaker 3: brat of Chad says something to me, and then I'm
- 39:09Speaker 3: going to be on the news, and then Flynn's going
- 39:10Speaker 3: to be hosting the show by himself next week.
- 39:12Speaker 4: No, he's going to call me. No, I just, it'll
- 39:17Speaker 4: get thrown to national.
- 39:18Speaker 2: You know, and probably the most, and it's just probably
- 39:21Speaker 2: because of who I am, I've had the most trash
- 39:23Speaker 2: to me ever talked in Oxford.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Every time I've gone there. So I don't know.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Thursday and Friday I'm going to wear neutral clothes. I
- 39:33Speaker 2: don't want anything until Saturday.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Yeah. Does your family have some ties to Ole Miss
- 39:37Speaker 3: or Mississippi State?
- 39:38Speaker 4: Both. So my grandfather played at Ole Miss.
- 39:40Speaker 5: That's what it was.
- 39:40Speaker 4: My dad played at Mississippi State.
- 39:41Speaker 3: That's what it was.
- 39:42Speaker 4: I knew it was one. I couldn't remember how that
- 39:43Speaker 4: all played out there. My sister graduated from Ole Miss. Yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 4: I knew that.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I've hated them my entire life. I was raised to
- 39:49Speaker 2: hate Ole Miss.
- 39:49Speaker 5: Sure.
- 39:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 2: I think my dad was actually committed to Ole Miss.
- 39:52Speaker 2: When his sophomore year, they illegally recruited him, and he
- 39:54Speaker 2: had to go to court over it, and that's why
- 39:56Speaker 2: he ended up at Mississippi State. Yeah.
- 39:58Speaker 3: All right.
- 39:59Speaker 4: How about that? Didn't know that fun fact.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Yep, they made an in-home visit his sophomore year, and
- 40:05Speaker 2: it got leaked, and they got in trouble.
- 40:07Speaker 5: So until recently, I've never really disliked them. You didn't
- 40:12Speaker 5: think about them?
- 40:13Speaker 4: I just didn't think. I was just like, whatever.
- 40:15Speaker 5: They didn't really matter.
- 40:16Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, the culture got changed not that long ago.
- 40:19Speaker 5: But it's funny.
- 40:20Speaker 4: They are now, for sure. How did they get changed?
- 40:23Speaker 5: Who changed it?
- 40:24Speaker 4: I think it was Lane.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Growing up, they used to, like, always consider LSU a
- 40:29Speaker 2: big rival.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 2: And when I was getting recruited, everybody talked about the
- 40:31Speaker 2: big rivalry. And I remember Josh Henson coming in town
- 40:34Speaker 2: and talking about the Ole Miss game. And I was like, oh, yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 2: is it a big rivalry game? He goes, only to them.
- 40:38Speaker 2: That's not LSU's rivalry.
- 40:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not.
- 40:39Speaker 2: It's not ours.
- 40:41Speaker 5: They suck. I mean, we were 4-4.
- 40:44Speaker 4: I'm sure you.
- 40:44Speaker 2: We got beat once.
- 40:45Speaker 4: You did? What year was that event?
- 40:47Speaker 2: That was in.
- 40:49Speaker 3: My.
- 40:49Speaker 2: 08? No, that was, I think it was the old
- 40:51Speaker 2: Arkansas coach.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Houston Nutt?
- 40:53Speaker 5: No.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Yeah, Houston Nutt.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 4: I forgot about it. He was the coach there?
- 40:58Speaker 2: Yeah. When Orgeron got fired. At Ole Miss?
- 41:01Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Houston Nut went there after Orgeron. And then Orgeron brought
- 41:04Speaker 2: in all those recruits. And then Houston Nut was a
- 41:07Speaker 2: decent coach. He had enough talent for the first time
- 41:09Speaker 2: leaving Arkansas. And they had a pretty decent little team.
- 41:11Speaker 2: I think they went to the Sugar Bowl maybe my
- 41:13Speaker 2: senior year. Or the Cotton Bowl or something.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Wow.
- 41:18Speaker 4: I have no– like even– Jevin Sneed was a quarterback.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Even though you all have said it, I still have
- 41:23Speaker 5: no recollection or memory of Houston Nutt being the coach
- 41:26Speaker 5: at Ole Miss.
- 41:26Speaker 2: I hate Houston Nutt.
- 41:27Speaker 4: Houston Dale Nutt, I think is his middle name.
- 41:30Speaker 3: He's one of those people that always gets his middle
- 41:32Speaker 3: name said too.
- 41:32Speaker 4: I think Houston Dale.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Sounds good.
- 41:35Speaker 5: Sounds right. I don't know.
- 41:36Speaker 2: He gave me my like most motivation my freshman year.
- 41:39Speaker 2: There was a big all-American Arkansas football player that grew
- 41:42Speaker 2: up next door to me and they always tried to
- 41:43Speaker 2: push me to go to Arkansas. I liked him when
- 41:45Speaker 2: I was young. But I remember when I committed to
- 41:47Speaker 2: LSU in like the Arkansas newspaper, they asked about me
- 41:51Speaker 2: committing and not going to Arkansas. And he said that
- 41:53Speaker 2: I wasn't big enough to play in the SEC, so
- 41:54Speaker 2: they weren't concerned about it.
- 41:55Speaker 4: Smart.
- 41:56Speaker 2: So I always remembered that going into playing Arkansas.
- 41:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:59Speaker 5: Because you just weren't good enough. You weren't big enough,
- 42:02Speaker 5: strong enough, fast enough.
- 42:03Speaker 4: To start as a true freshman, 18-year-old.
- 42:05Speaker 2: It's true.
- 42:05Speaker 5: It's true.
- 42:07Speaker 4: It stinks. It stinks for you. It stinks.
- 42:08Speaker 5: If you think about it.
- 42:10Speaker 4: All right. We will take a break.
- 42:11Speaker 3: We've got more OTB when we come back here live
- 42:14Speaker 3: from Rouse's on Burbank and Lee.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Off the Bench.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Speaking of stinking, plumbing can sometimes stink. Plumbing problems never
- 42:24Speaker 3: seem to happen at a convenient time. So when something

- 42:30Speaker 3: is where Central Plumbing comes in. So whether it's a
- 42:32Speaker 3: leaking pipe, a clogged drain, or a water heater issue,

- 42:40Speaker 3: to normal. Dependable service from people who know what they're doing.

- 42:55Speaker 5: business for that long, that means you're doing things the
- 42:58Speaker 5: right way. You're doing business the right way, treating people

- 43:01Speaker 5: you do. So whether it's commercial, whether it's residential, there's
- 43:04Speaker 5: nothing too big, nothing too small for Central Plumbing.
- 43:07Speaker 4: So if you're adding on, maybe.
- 43:08Speaker 5: It's a powder room, maybe it's a tankless water heater,
- 43:10Speaker 5: maybe it's something at the job site, whatever it is,
- 43:12Speaker 5: gas lines, water lines, they are the experts.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Central Plumbing, centralplumbing.org.
- 43:36Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 43:39Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 43:44Speaker 6: Give me one reason to stay here And I'll turn
- 43:48Speaker 6: right back around.
- 43:55Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in.
- 43:56Speaker 3: OTV here live from Ross' own Burbank and Lee.
- 43:59Speaker 4: Come and hang out with us.
- 44:02Speaker 3: We've already had a chance to meet the great fans
- 44:04Speaker 3: that wore the Flynn and Hester jerseys last weekend.
- 44:08Speaker 4: And they said they've been doing it for about three
- 44:09Speaker 4: or four years. That's crazy. I know.
- 44:10Speaker 2: I said, good job.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Great job.
- 44:16Speaker 2: I'm so proud you knew that button.
- 44:18Speaker 3: I don't remember this one.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Crickets. What is this one?
- 44:24Speaker 3: Joke. Spooky.
- 44:27Speaker 4: And this one is?
- 44:30Speaker 5: This one.
- 44:31Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 44:34Speaker 5: That you did.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Richard's here.
- 44:38Speaker 5: Perfect.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Well played.
- 44:40Speaker 5: Well played, sir.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Richard.
- 44:43Speaker 3: Obviously, last weekend went pretty well for the Tigers. It's
- 44:46Speaker 3: our first chance to have you. As we close out
- 44:49Speaker 3: hour number two, maybe the most impressive thing that you
- 44:52Speaker 3: saw from the fellas.
- 44:54Speaker 2: The atmosphere was amazing. It was the most fun I've
- 44:56Speaker 2: had at a game in a long time. Just the
- 44:58Speaker 2: way the guys have bought into the system. Nobody's celebrating
- 45:01Speaker 2: the amount of big plays that were made. They immediately
- 45:04Speaker 2: sprinted back to the referee, gave them the ball, got
- 45:05Speaker 2: lined up. I mean, I thought it was the most
- 45:07Speaker 2: well-coached team I've seen play in a long time.
- 45:11Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, wait.
- 45:12Speaker 2: I mean, when was the last time you watched a
- 45:15Speaker 2: game and, you know, big play, celebrate, whatever, people jog. And,
- 45:19Speaker 2: you know what, hats off to the ball boys. The
- 45:21Speaker 2: ball boys were freaking rolling. They're part of the team.
- 45:23Speaker 5: They really are. I think there's four, maybe six. There's
- 45:25Speaker 5: either four or six that are trained and they're part
- 45:27Speaker 5: of practice. They wear different colors. They are integral in practice.
- 45:32Speaker 5: And what I've heard is, like, they'll, like, they see
- 45:36Speaker 5: something on film in practice and I'll let them know.
- 45:39Speaker 4: Like, hey, let's change this.
- 45:40Speaker 3: The ball boys, like, if you'll notice, watch it this weekend.
- 45:44Speaker 3: If the player, like, puts the ball down or he's not, like,
- 45:46Speaker 3: immediately going, like, they are, like, hitting them, like, basically, like,
- 45:50Speaker 3: pointing to the field. Like, get back out there. Grab
- 45:53Speaker 3: the ball and go.
- 45:54Speaker 2: The most impressive thing is, like, you would see the
- 45:55Speaker 2: play going towards the sideline and also need to see
- 45:57Speaker 2: two ball boys flying down the sideline and try to
- 45:59Speaker 2: meet them wherever they went out.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Hey, did y'all feel bad?
- 46:02Speaker 5: Y'all saw Brian Kelly's quote that he said it was
- 46:05Speaker 5: hard for him to watch the game.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Well, they got more rushing yards in that game than
- 46:08Speaker 2: he got in a half a season. I was just
- 46:09Speaker 2: so sad for him.
- 46:12Speaker 5: Just kidding. It made me mad. It's hard for him
- 46:17Speaker 5: to watch, though.
- 46:18Speaker 4: I just love the clip. I got too many comments.
- 46:20Speaker 2: The clip is going around and showing, like, his speech
- 46:23Speaker 2: after the Florida game when he called everybody, when Cobble
- 46:25Speaker 2: called him out and everybody.
- 46:26Speaker 5: Was freaking out.
- 46:26Speaker 4: He's like, spoiled? You're spoiled.
- 46:28Speaker 2: And then, you know, Kiffin's like, well, you know, we
- 46:30Speaker 2: got to do this. We gave up three. We had
- 46:31Speaker 2: a turnover. I'm like, complete difference.
- 46:34Speaker 4: It certainly was.
- 46:34Speaker 3: We'll talk about it in hour number three when we
- 46:36Speaker 3: come back.
- 46:37Speaker 5: Off the bench.
