Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome to the NFL Report. I am Steve White here
- 0:05Speaker 1: with my guy James Palmer JP. We are approaching the
- 0:08Speaker 1: first quarter pole of the NFL season. Will be four
- 0:12Speaker 1: games done after Monday night. This is where teams find
- 0:16Speaker 1: out who.
- 0:17Speaker 2: They are JP.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Yeah, they find out who they are. I love it.
- 0:22Speaker 3: One thing I'd like to add to the NFL game experience.
- 0:24Speaker 3: We're at a lot of these games, Steve. I was
- 0:26Speaker 3: at a MLS game. The Colord Rapids play right down
- 0:28Speaker 3: the street for me, playing against Vancouver, sat in the
- 0:31Speaker 3: supporter section with my son. We need more drums and
- 0:34Speaker 3: horns and hell, bring the vouzelas back. I love the
- 0:39Speaker 3: environment of the musical side of a soccer game that's
- 0:42Speaker 3: not at NFL contests.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I think at Philly if we brought
- 0:46Speaker 1: some of those potential weapons into the stadium in stadiums
- 0:51Speaker 1: like that. No, it's true. You know the real deal.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You know the deal.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Well, look, we've got a great show.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Also, we're gonna have Niner safety Talano Ufonga on here.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We're gonna be joined by Brian Baldinger for his breakdowns.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Jane Slater's gonna be coming in talking Cowboys, Pats plus
- 1:08Speaker 1: Alvin Kamara's return and Stacy Dale's and Cameron Wolf on
- 1:11Speaker 1: the Big Bill's Dolphins matchup.
- 1:13Speaker 2: But jap before we get started, we have to follow
- 1:16Speaker 2: the frenzy.
- 1:18Speaker 1: We have to go back to Met Life Stadium where
- 1:20Speaker 1: Taylor Swift is going to be taking all eyes off
- 1:23Speaker 1: of the home team product the New York Jets. Thank
- 1:26Speaker 1: goodness for those fans when they play Kansas City this week,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and she's gonna be there to see her her bo.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He admitted it on his podcast Travis Kelsey. He said,
- 1:34Speaker 1: this isn't a front. So it debunks my theory of
- 1:37Speaker 1: the new tight Ends series that's the spinoff of the
- 1:41Speaker 1: Quarterback series.
- 1:42Speaker 2: You know him and Taylor are really a night of JP.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it also debunks a lot of what well it
- 1:47Speaker 3: actually doesn't debunk with all my friends in Philly think,
- 1:49Speaker 3: which she's trying to infiltrate the defending Super Bowl champions
- 1:52Speaker 3: from within because she's a diehard Eagles fan. We'll see
- 1:55Speaker 3: at the end of the season if that's actually how
- 1:56Speaker 3: this thing is really playing out. But get to steve
- 2:00Speaker 3: some of these teams, because we know the Chiefs are
- 2:03Speaker 3: for real, so they're not on our list of questioning
- 2:05Speaker 3: teams whether they're for real or not. You mentioned the
- 2:08Speaker 3: quarter point is usually where most coaches in the NFL,
- 2:10Speaker 3: if you ask them, say, now I know what my
- 2:11Speaker 3: team really is, what we really have, So we're gonna
- 2:14Speaker 3: play little game'renna go straight down the list. We're gonna
- 2:16Speaker 3: talk about how good are they? I'm also gonna call
- 2:18Speaker 3: it my for real meter? How for real are these
- 2:21Speaker 3: teams still on your for real meter? How for real
- 2:24Speaker 3: are the Dallas Cowboys after what happened against Arizona Cardinals
- 2:28Speaker 3: the shocker of Week three?
- 2:30Speaker 2: They're for real?
- 2:31Speaker 1: I mean, look, no one's gonna win them all, but
- 2:32Speaker 1: we look their defense is so legit JP and one
- 2:35Speaker 1: thing we've seen about these teams that have jumped out
- 2:37Speaker 1: to these early starts.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Is great defense.
- 2:39Speaker 1: We can talk about all the offenses we want, but
- 2:40Speaker 1: the great defenses are keeping them together.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I will say this about the Cowboys, though, they've got.
- 2:45Speaker 1: To get things going in the red zone offensively big time.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Dak still has to see the feel better and Mike
- 2:50Speaker 1: McCarthy's got to cost some better plays.
- 2:52Speaker 2: This defense can only carry them so far.
- 2:55Speaker 1: For the past few seasons, they've led the NFL and takeaways.
- 2:58Speaker 1: They've got Micah Parsons, but lose trade digs at corner.
- 3:02Speaker 2: They've got it kind of work their way through that.
- 3:05Speaker 2: They will.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I mean, they've got great coaching on that side. And
- 3:07Speaker 1: the fall the Dallas Cowboys are for real. They're gonna
- 3:09Speaker 1: be there at the end.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah. You know, you could think just three games in
- 3:14Speaker 3: the issues in the red zone as we're seeing them here.
- 3:16Speaker 3: If you're watching the show, not just listening to the show,
- 3:19Speaker 3: is they were number one in red zone offense a
- 3:21Speaker 3: season ago, so you could think that, Steve, they would
- 3:23Speaker 3: correct some of these. There's only three teams worse than
- 3:26Speaker 3: them in terms of the red zone so far in
- 3:28Speaker 3: this early part of the season. To me, what jumps
- 3:30Speaker 3: out is that you've lost some of those red zone
- 3:32Speaker 3: staples that you've had over the last couple of years.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Dalton Schultze tight end has gotten more targets in the
- 3:37Speaker 3: red zone last year than any other player on the Cowboys.
- 3:39Speaker 3: He's gone. We know how dominant Zekeel it was in
- 3:42Speaker 3: that short yardage red zone portion, Steve, that actually is
- 3:45Speaker 3: really if you talk to defensive coordinators, that's an advantage
- 3:47Speaker 3: there when you have the short yardage part because running
- 3:50Speaker 3: is so important and you have the boundaries that help
- 3:53Speaker 3: your defense in a sense, and the power back of
- 3:55Speaker 3: Zeke Elliott, both those guys being gone. What I'm also
- 3:58Speaker 3: curious is that's also is that you don't see Dak
- 4:02Speaker 3: using his legs very much since really that that brutal
- 4:05Speaker 3: ankle injury. Before that, he was a threat. You go
- 4:08Speaker 3: back and look at the stats before that ankle injury,
- 4:10Speaker 3: he was a threat to use his legs in the
- 4:11Speaker 3: red zone. That's another part that you know. Dak hinted.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Maybe that's something I come back on. But if they
- 4:16Speaker 3: fix these red zone stuff like they're they're right back
- 4:19Speaker 3: to where to where we've seen.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Them angle offensive lineman healthy. We know the durability of
- 4:22Speaker 1: their offensive line has been an issue.
- 4:24Speaker 2: All right, JP.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Are the Pittsburgh Steelers the two and one Steelers for real?
- 4:32Speaker 3: I don't know yet. I don't know where my fur
- 4:34Speaker 3: real meter is. My fur real meter is somewhere around
- 4:36Speaker 3: US six. And we're talking about an offense in Dallas
- 4:40Speaker 3: that we think you fix the red zone problems. Boom,
- 4:42Speaker 3: they right back to it because they are having long drives,
- 4:44Speaker 3: great drives. I'm still curious about this Steelers offense, and
- 4:47Speaker 3: there's still been so many questions. I don't know if
- 4:49Speaker 3: there's an offensive coordinator in football Steed that's questioned more
- 4:53Speaker 3: by the fans of their team than Mac cannell. Oh
- 4:56Speaker 3: had a really really strong game. There is who yes, Chicago,
- 4:59Speaker 3: look at okay, okay, well, all right, okay, Luketz, that's
- 5:04Speaker 3: actually a good call anyway, Matt Canada did play did
- 5:08Speaker 3: set things up for Kenny Pickett very well in this
- 5:10Speaker 3: last game. And what did we see. It's because they
- 5:12Speaker 3: ran the football pretty well and they were able to
- 5:13Speaker 3: play off of play action. I think Kenny Pickett personally,
- 5:16Speaker 3: I've a chance to talk to him in training camp.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Him operating out of play action giving a defense the
- 5:21Speaker 3: ability to have to think about the run game with
- 5:23Speaker 3: Najie Harrison company, that showed me that this offense has
- 5:27Speaker 3: the ability to go out and make some plays and
- 5:28Speaker 3: sustain some drives. Who saw all these different things they
- 5:31Speaker 3: can do. Mike Tomlin talked about it this week, just saying,
- 5:34Speaker 3: if we can do all these different things, you can
- 5:36Speaker 3: be more diverse in your play calling, something that we
- 5:38Speaker 3: didn't see. They've had their work cut out with them
- 5:40Speaker 3: with a lot of dominant pass rushers going after this
- 5:43Speaker 3: offensive line. But I think that's just one game where
- 5:47Speaker 3: we've seen Kenny Pickett and Mat Canada go out there
- 5:49Speaker 3: and play really good offensive football. I still need to
- 5:52Speaker 3: see it a little bit more because there's still some
- 5:53Speaker 3: questions I.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Would agree with that, but again, they opened up against
- 5:57Speaker 1: San Francisco and Cleveland, two of the best defense they're
- 5:59Speaker 1: gonna con found just about everybody.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I do need to see a little bit more.
- 6:03Speaker 1: But one reason I still love the Steelers the past
- 6:05Speaker 1: two Decembers and January is their record nine and three.
- 6:10Speaker 1: This group of players finishes the season well, especially when
- 6:13Speaker 1: the weather gets a little bit inclement and they are
- 6:16Speaker 1: holding teams during that span jp to five points a
- 6:20Speaker 1: game less, So they tend to play their best football
- 6:24Speaker 1: at the end of the season. That's why if they
- 6:25Speaker 1: can kind of hold water and keep on going in
- 6:27Speaker 1: the direction that they're going in, I think they're gonna
- 6:30Speaker 1: be very good.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Okay, I like it. Also, we haven't seen Joey Porter
- 6:34Speaker 3: Junior a whole lot. It's kind of increased in snaps
- 6:36Speaker 3: a little bit as he's gone on. He's kind of
- 6:38Speaker 3: getting to few where they'rekinda doing that with a lot
- 6:39Speaker 3: of the rookies, so maybe they'll start getting some more
- 6:40Speaker 3: time as they move on with this season. Let's move
- 6:43Speaker 3: on with this, Steve to the Cleveland Browns. Let's stay
- 6:46Speaker 3: in the division. Are the Browns for real in your mind?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 6:50Speaker 1: I mean, remember, James, this is the team I called
- 6:52Speaker 1: to win the AFC North coming into the season. Yep,
- 6:56Speaker 1: we knew the defense is going to be good. But
- 6:59Speaker 1: good grief, I mean, what's going on is insane. I mean, know,
- 7:03Speaker 1: we we know Miles Garrett, but again, the guys in
- 7:05Speaker 1: the secondary, the corners, what they're doing up front is
- 7:09Speaker 1: just is just insane. I mean, Oba Ogaronkuo and Taki Taki.
- 7:13Speaker 1: These are players that we're not talking about on the
- 7:15Speaker 1: second level this defense, who are absolutely raising Kane on
- 7:18Speaker 1: that secondary level.
- 7:19Speaker 2: So offensively, that still remains the question.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Now that Nick Chubb is out again, it's going to
- 7:24Speaker 1: be more of a the Shawn friendly based offense. I
- 7:27Speaker 1: like what they did last week with Elijah Moore, the
- 7:30Speaker 1: slot receiver who plays out of the backfield. Sometimes I
- 7:33Speaker 1: think he's gonna become more of a threat expand this
- 7:35Speaker 1: offense a little bit. But the Cleveland Browns, unless they
- 7:39Speaker 1: just absolutely melt down and we know what has happened
- 7:42Speaker 1: in the factory of sadness st But I think they
- 7:46Speaker 1: are going to still be there when it's not there
- 7:49Speaker 1: for real.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm all I know them.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah, this this defense is actually off the charts. We
- 7:54Speaker 3: have been given up a touchdown I think so far.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Like they're they're playing phenomenal defense. I think on the
- 7:59Speaker 3: offense side, Steve, I love that you mentioned Elijah Moore
- 8:02Speaker 3: lining up in the backfield. What else did they do
- 8:03Speaker 3: to kind of add some wrinkles. You saw Jerome Ford
- 8:05Speaker 3: line up all the way out wide and play that
- 8:08Speaker 3: receiver spot. The ability to make some of these things
- 8:10Speaker 3: what I need to see, though, I need to see
- 8:12Speaker 3: a Mary Cooper stay healthy for them to stay real.
- 8:14Speaker 3: I do think that's key to this entire offense. I
- 8:17Speaker 3: talked to Deshaun Watson after their final preseason game, and
- 8:19Speaker 3: really so much of our conversation was based on their
- 8:22Speaker 3: relationship and the importance that is a true number one
- 8:24Speaker 3: wide receiver. And man was he living and he doesn't
- 8:27Speaker 3: talk much, Steve, but he was not happy about being
- 8:29Speaker 3: called out of bounds when he wasn't anywhere close to
- 8:31Speaker 3: being out of bounds. He would have had an avalanche
- 8:33Speaker 3: of yards in Week three. So finding other ways to
- 8:36Speaker 3: get these guys involved in the game in other spots
- 8:39Speaker 3: is an interesting wrinkle. Deshaun using his legs, playing out
- 8:42Speaker 3: of the shotgun, I like, and you're going to see
- 8:43Speaker 3: more of that. But I think of Mary Cooper staying
- 8:46Speaker 3: healthy and Deshaun Watson limiting turnovers and not hurting this defense.
- 8:50Speaker 3: The only game this season he didn't have a turnover
- 8:52Speaker 3: was last week.
- 8:52Speaker 1: All right, JP, we've kind of stated semi obvious stuff here.
- 8:56Speaker 1: We don't have enough time to get to all the
- 8:58Speaker 1: teams we had on the rundown. But that's okay because
- 9:00Speaker 1: I want to hit a team you talked about on Monday,
- 9:02Speaker 1: the Indianapolis.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Colts at two and one show amendous promise.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Okay, are they for real? Are the Colts and Shane Steiken?
- 9:14Speaker 1: Are they in the real deal category?
- 9:17Speaker 3: Well, this is what they have. They lead the division
- 9:19Speaker 3: right now. In their next three games Rams, Titans, Jags,
- 9:23Speaker 3: they can win all of those games. Steve, and I
- 9:26Speaker 3: think what we've learned from Shane Steiken's group, and the
- 9:28Speaker 3: reason I talked about him is I thought he's got
- 9:30Speaker 3: a tremendous job coaching this team so far. We saw
- 9:32Speaker 3: how resilient and tough they were coming out of that
- 9:36Speaker 3: game in overtime in a win over the Baltimore Ravens.
- 9:40Speaker 3: What I'm interested in seeing is do you continue to
- 9:42Speaker 3: see Anthony Richardson's growth. We saw Gardner Minshew come in
- 9:46Speaker 3: for a game and play well, But I do like
- 9:48Speaker 3: the amount of time I'm told Gardner Minshew's spending with
- 9:51Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson day off, watching film, Shane Stike and everything
- 9:54Speaker 3: around him. Do they continue to see him grow? Zach
- 9:57Speaker 3: Moss has emerged in the run game, and could they
- 10:00Speaker 3: get Jonathan Taylor back as they've massaged this whole situation.
- 10:04Speaker 3: What is that backfield with Zach Moss and Jonathan Taylor?
- 10:08Speaker 3: If he comes back healthy as a one two punch,
- 10:10Speaker 3: that could be one of the best backfields in football.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I love that, But let's not forget where the Colts
- 10:15Speaker 1: also are winning their games. That's on the defensive side
- 10:18Speaker 1: of the ball. They're playing excellent up front guys like
- 10:22Speaker 1: the Forest Buckner. Could he pay right the high draftic.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I think he's got three, if not.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Four sacks already.
- 10:28Speaker 1: He is playing exceptionally well, and a little bit later
- 10:31Speaker 1: on in the show, ar Gar Brian Baldinger is going
- 10:33Speaker 1: to talk about another.
- 10:35Speaker 2: One of their defensive players who he loves.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But coming up next, we've got Stacy Daills, we have
- 10:41Speaker 1: got Campbell, and we have got Jane Slater to talk about.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Some of them games, some of the biggest games coming
- 10:48Speaker 2: up in week four. We're often running at the NFL Report.
- 11:00Speaker 4: We're just getting started. I am so proud of everyone.
- 11:03Speaker 4: I want you guys to enjoy it, but keep it
- 11:06Speaker 4: in perspective.
- 11:07Speaker 2: It is a third win.
- 11:10Speaker 4: We care about our standard and our standard open.
- 11:15Speaker 5: We got to keep me going.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Who welcome back to the NFL Report. We're just getting
- 11:25Speaker 3: started with a seventy burger. It's just the beginning. Well,
- 11:29Speaker 3: it's gonna be Bills Dolphins in Buffalo, and I'm very
- 11:34Speaker 3: envious Steve of Stacey Dale's mostly all the time, but
- 11:37Speaker 3: she's gonna be the one that's gonna be at this game.
- 11:39Speaker 3: So I'm very envious of her again once on this Sunday.
- 11:42Speaker 3: But Cam, I'm gonna start with you though, because you
- 11:45Speaker 3: hit us up with a text this week and we're like,
- 11:47Speaker 3: hey man, this locker room, I've been talking to guys
- 11:50Speaker 3: in here, and they have not enjoyed what's going on
- 11:55Speaker 3: against the Buffalo Bills of late in these matchups. What's
- 11:58Speaker 3: going on down there in Miami.
- 12:00Speaker 6: Yeah, James and Dolphins have been the darlings of the
- 12:02Speaker 6: NFL the first three weeks after you put up seventy.
- 12:04Speaker 6: It's usually that way. But they're facing their big boss.
- 12:07Speaker 6: You know, if you play video games, there's the big
- 12:09Speaker 6: boss at the end of the hill, and it's the
- 12:11Speaker 6: Bills for them. Right they haven't won in Buffalo since
- 12:14Speaker 6: twenty sixteen. They're nine to two against two to nine
- 12:17Speaker 6: against Josh Allen and their time there and talking to
- 12:20Speaker 6: some of the guys, it's like, man, we gotta beat
- 12:22Speaker 6: these guys.
- 12:23Speaker 7: We have to, we have to.
- 12:25Speaker 6: It feels like the final checkpoint for them to show
- 12:27Speaker 6: that they're actually legit, because remember they started three to
- 12:30Speaker 6: oher last year and then fizzled off, and so this
- 12:33Speaker 6: definitely feels like a checkpoint. Guys were mentioning the last
- 12:35Speaker 6: time they were in Buffalo, they remember getting hit with
- 12:38Speaker 6: snowballs in that playoff game from fans.
- 12:40Speaker 5: From behind them.
- 12:41Speaker 6: It won't be snowing this week, but it's become a
- 12:43Speaker 6: little bit of a feisty rivalry. Christian Wilkins likes to
- 12:46Speaker 6: get into it with the Bills, hawfinsive lineman and Josh
- 12:49Speaker 6: Allen and Mike McDaniel had a great line this week
- 12:52Speaker 6: when he said, if you can't get motivated for a
- 12:55Speaker 6: game like this, you need to check your pulse or
- 12:57Speaker 6: get into another career.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Hey, hey, James, didn't you just have.
- 13:01Speaker 8: Popcorn with Baldy on the last segment It's back baby?
- 13:09Speaker 7: Have you tried.
- 13:12Speaker 8: Tried some air delicious goodness skinny pops?
- 13:17Speaker 2: Like?
- 13:17Speaker 8: What eighty calories?
- 13:19Speaker 2: Right?
- 13:19Speaker 3: Eighty calories? That's right? Watching my figure?
- 13:21Speaker 8: Yeah, well I loved everything Cam just said. My point
- 13:24Speaker 8: is is I'm going to take some chips or I'm
- 13:26Speaker 8: going to get some popcorn because this is going to
- 13:28Speaker 8: be an incredible football game on Sunday at high Mark Stadium.
- 13:31Speaker 8: I mean, you better bring the popcorn because are we
- 13:33Speaker 8: going to get a shootout or are we going to
- 13:34Speaker 8: get a defensive juggernaut in.
- 13:36Speaker 3: This football game?
- 13:38Speaker 8: But what you know, as I've I have to say
- 13:41Speaker 8: maybe mb Cam because he gets to cover this Miami
- 13:44Speaker 8: team every single week.
- 13:45Speaker 7: They are just an absolute joy to cover. I was
- 13:47Speaker 7: on the phone with a couple of players.
- 13:48Speaker 8: Yesterday, and I think it all starts with, you know,
- 13:51Speaker 8: not just from the.
- 13:52Speaker 7: Top down, but really Mike McDaniel and how special he is.
- 13:57Speaker 8: And you know, I spoke one of the players yesterday
- 14:00Speaker 8: with alec Ingold, who's a full back and he does
- 14:03Speaker 8: such a fantastic job and the really all facets for
- 14:07Speaker 8: this team, I asked, and what is it about Mike
- 14:09Speaker 8: McDaniel that's so special? And what was really interesting about
- 14:12Speaker 8: his response? It wasn't he didn't start with the x's
- 14:15Speaker 8: and o's, and he didn't start with the brilliance and
- 14:17Speaker 8: the mad scientist that Mike McDaniel is. He said that
- 14:20Speaker 8: Mike empowers human beings and he empowers them to be
- 14:24Speaker 8: the best version of themselves. Every single conversation that Mike
- 14:28Speaker 8: has with his players, alec Ingold told me, is so
- 14:31Speaker 8: intentional and from the moment that you walk into that
- 14:34Speaker 8: facility and get ready for really the entire game plan
- 14:38Speaker 8: on Wednesday, he has everything covered. He has every dimension covered,
- 14:42Speaker 8: and then by the time.
- 14:43Speaker 7: You get to game day.
- 14:44Speaker 8: I thought it was really cool, he said, we are
- 14:46Speaker 8: so prepared and Mike is just so relaxed on game day.
- 14:50Speaker 7: That was really unique.
- 14:52Speaker 8: To me because when we watch him coach on Sundays,
- 14:55Speaker 8: he has that real and caim you could speak to
- 14:57Speaker 8: this that real calmness about him that I think is
- 14:59Speaker 8: really infiltrated Tua. And one of the reasons Tua has
- 15:03Speaker 8: played with such poise and really that operation has been fantastic.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Yes, Stacy, he brings confidence to the group. They really
- 15:11Speaker 6: embody him because I remember when he got hired, a
- 15:14Speaker 6: lot of questions whereas can this guy lead? He leads
- 15:17Speaker 6: his way, his team flows their way. If you just
- 15:19Speaker 6: watch Tua on the podium over the last twelve months,
- 15:22Speaker 6: you see a complete different energy about him. We were
- 15:25Speaker 6: just joking with him yesterday about him throwing the ball
- 15:27Speaker 6: righty and lefty and he just, you know, just kind
- 15:30Speaker 6: of just laughs and completely is himself popping into interviews
- 15:34Speaker 6: in the locker room. These are elements that we didn't
- 15:37Speaker 6: see in the first two years of his career. And
- 15:38Speaker 6: that's a direct derivative of Mike McDaniel. And what's so
- 15:42Speaker 6: intriguing is you see his scheme. We know him because
- 15:45Speaker 6: of his humor, but we see a scheme really taking
- 15:47Speaker 6: over this year. Frank Smith, the offensive coordinator, was talking
- 15:50Speaker 6: today and said that he's had high school coaches texts
- 15:53Speaker 6: him this week trying to figure out their motion. What
- 15:55Speaker 6: can we do to copy your exit motion? With the
- 15:58Speaker 6: running backs, with Tyre Kill, all these elements, and so
- 16:02Speaker 6: he's connecting with the players, as you mentioned, Stacy, with
- 16:04Speaker 6: his energy, with this personality, with this with this realness.
- 16:08Speaker 6: But he's also revolutionizing how they go about this league,
- 16:11Speaker 6: as Sean McDermott said this week, with the way they
- 16:13Speaker 6: use motion.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Stacey, you know, I want to get to you real
- 16:19Speaker 1: quick because I want to get to the Buffalo side,
- 16:21Speaker 1: because we know the Bills have the number two offense
- 16:24Speaker 1: in the NFL behind the Dolphins. But you said, the
- 16:26Speaker 1: Josh Allen conversation is he's learning to take the checkdown.
- 16:30Speaker 1: That's something that's really kind of helped him, especially after
- 16:34Speaker 1: Week one.
- 16:36Speaker 2: How could that.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Come into play against an offense where a quarterback really
- 16:40Speaker 1: knows the importance of the checkdown.
- 16:44Speaker 8: Yeah, well, I think after we witnessed Josh throw a
- 16:47Speaker 8: multitude of interceptions to start off the season. You know,
- 16:50Speaker 8: I had the Buffalo Bills a couple of weeks ago
- 16:52Speaker 8: against the Raiders, and one of the conversations I had
- 16:54Speaker 8: with an executive is was essentially, you know, take what
- 17:00Speaker 8: the defense gives you, don't get bored doing that.
- 17:02Speaker 7: Josh Allen is such a talent.
- 17:03Speaker 8: I was on the phone with another executive this morning
- 17:06Speaker 8: that is not related to this game, and we were
- 17:08Speaker 8: just talking about quarterbacks and Josh Allen is just such
- 17:14Speaker 8: a rare talent and he's so massively gifted, not only
- 17:17Speaker 8: in terms of his physical stature and his size, but
- 17:19Speaker 8: his ability to rock at the football. And with that
- 17:22Speaker 8: being said, he gets a little bored sometimes, as it
- 17:27Speaker 8: was explained to me, and just taking what the defense
- 17:29Speaker 8: gives you.
- 17:29Speaker 2: He's going to have to do this. You know, Vic
- 17:31Speaker 2: Fangio has.
- 17:31Speaker 8: Already had an impact, as Cam is well aware, and
- 17:34Speaker 8: you guys are well aware. In Miami, the players have
- 17:36Speaker 8: bought into it. The players are you know, I've been
- 17:39Speaker 8: quite impressed with this Miami defense thus far this season.
- 17:43Speaker 8: And you know it will be a tall order though
- 17:45Speaker 8: to go into Buffalo, because we know that Josh can
- 17:47Speaker 8: put up points. But I'll finish with this. This is
- 17:50Speaker 8: the storyline. Is this offense against Sean McDermott. As he
- 17:53Speaker 8: has said, I'm continuing to knock the rust off as
- 17:57Speaker 8: the defensive play caller this year because we know Leslie
- 17:59Speaker 8: Frick Fridge is not there, and as he continues to
- 18:02Speaker 8: do that, he is the number one takeaway defense in football,
- 18:05Speaker 8: number two total, number two scoring defense. This is a
- 18:08Speaker 8: really good unit, and I think the storylines are just
- 18:11Speaker 8: jumping off the page in every dimension for this game.
- 18:15Speaker 5: I love, if I can go.
- 18:16Speaker 6: In here briefly, I love what Stacy said about Josh
- 18:18Speaker 6: facing this defense because the big difference with Big Vangio
- 18:21Speaker 6: is they take away that big play. Javon Hollanders safety's
- 18:24Speaker 6: played incredible ball in the back end, but the Dolphins
- 18:26Speaker 6: score a lot of points. And so what you said
- 18:28Speaker 6: about Josh Allen wanting to take the check down, I
- 18:30Speaker 6: wonder if there's going to be moments in the game
- 18:31Speaker 6: where Josh looks over to the other sideline. It's like
- 18:34Speaker 6: I might have to make a play. I might have
- 18:36Speaker 6: to go into my superman Josh Allen mode to be
- 18:38Speaker 6: able to keep up with this offense and how they
- 18:40Speaker 6: balance that. That's why this game is going to be
- 18:42Speaker 6: so fun to watch. I'm definitely enviously you, Stacy.
- 18:47Speaker 3: We are all envious of Stagy that list. The Chiefs
- 18:49Speaker 3: do that to teams over the last couple of years
- 18:52Speaker 3: a bunch. So yeah, that's something that you've seen in
- 18:54Speaker 3: effect opposing offenses for sure. Thanks Stace, Thanks Cam. Appreciate it, guys.
- 18:58Speaker 3: But let's jump to Week five. I've right now, guys,
- 19:00Speaker 3: because listen to this Week five as a monster international
- 19:04Speaker 3: matchup that can only be watched exclusively on NFL Plus.
- 19:07Speaker 3: It's the Bills, It's the Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
- 19:11Speaker 3: in London. It's a dynamite venue. October eighth at nine
- 19:15Speaker 3: thirty am Eastern. You want to watch that game, sign
- 19:18Speaker 3: up at Plus dot NFL dot com.
- 19:21Speaker 9: Y'all put us on top of the world.
- 19:24Speaker 3: We knew, we know who we are.
- 19:25Speaker 9: And in that same sense, I'm sure the media got
- 19:27Speaker 9: got what they wanted for us. That hadn't been but
- 19:33Speaker 9: one undefeated team in this league ever ever, So uh yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 9: it sucks. It's humbling, but to say it's a wake
- 19:41Speaker 9: up call. We knew we had a lot of adversity
- 19:44Speaker 9: and we just just didn't get it done. And I
- 19:46Speaker 9: think it just goes back to myself, the offense and
- 19:49Speaker 9: the red zone. So I mean, we get better at there.
- 19:51Speaker 9: We win this game, but we've got to fix that
- 19:54Speaker 9: area period.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Those Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott after the team upset loss
- 20:01Speaker 1: to Arizona last week.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And now let's bring in our Jane Slater.
- 20:06Speaker 1: To see if she can answer some of the questions,
- 20:08Speaker 1: especially something that Dak brought up there with that stage.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Thanks it, Jane, red zone offense that.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Has been an issue when last year, the last couple
- 20:16Speaker 1: of years it has not been what is the deal
- 20:19Speaker 1: and how can they fix it?
- 20:20Speaker 10: Jane Well, I would argue maybe try somebody else there
- 20:25Speaker 10: inside the twenty than Jake Ferguson. I find it interesting
- 20:28Speaker 10: that he is seeing more targets than Brandon Cooks, Tony Pollard,
- 20:33Speaker 10: and Ceedee Lamb combined. Why you were talking about last year,
- 20:37Speaker 10: through three games, they were four for six in terms
- 20:39Speaker 10: of scoring touchdowns inside the twenty. This year they're six
- 20:41Speaker 10: for fifteen, So they've got to figure out something now.
- 20:44Speaker 10: I think what's hurting them right now, honestly, guys is
- 20:47Speaker 10: losing their offensive lineman. Last week, we were told Tyron
- 20:50Speaker 10: Smith was dressed out, he was even named a team captain.
- 20:53Speaker 7: He was active. Ultimately when he went through warm ups
- 20:56Speaker 7: he wasn't ready to go.
- 20:57Speaker 10: You were also missing Zach Martin and your son Tyler
- 21:00Speaker 10: be honis you remember last year some of the issues
- 21:03Speaker 10: for Dak Prescott, and I'm not talking about just inside
- 21:05Speaker 10: the rud zone.
- 21:05Speaker 7: I'm talking about period at the line of scrimmage.
- 21:08Speaker 10: He was doing too much. In other words, he was
- 21:10Speaker 10: calling out some of the protections. They want to take
- 21:12Speaker 10: that off of his plate.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:13Speaker 10: I asked Dak Martin today, could that have been an
- 21:16Speaker 10: issue the last.
- 21:17Speaker 7: Couple of weeks. His defense of that was no. He
- 21:20Speaker 7: seems to think the offensive line did a pretty good job.
- 21:22Speaker 10: He also pointed out, Hey, they work with these these substitutions,
- 21:26Speaker 10: these younger guys a lot in camp. We saw them
- 21:29Speaker 10: rotating the guys out quite a bit during OTA's And
- 21:32Speaker 10: it was even Mike McCarthy today who said they spend
- 21:34Speaker 10: a particular amount of time during the week Mondays and
- 21:37Speaker 10: even solid up there on the board today. They have
- 21:40Speaker 10: the young guns meetings, so there are cognizant of Hey,
- 21:43Speaker 10: in the past, injuries have slipped us up. Let's not
- 21:46Speaker 10: let injuries slip up up slip us up this year.
- 21:49Speaker 10: I'm just wondering what's going on with this offense as
- 21:52Speaker 10: a whole. I did reach out to someone inside the building, Steve,
- 21:55Speaker 10: because I know you and I will talk about things offline,
- 21:57Speaker 10: and one of my questions was, is what's this offense
- 22:00Speaker 10: being a little too conservative with dak In other words,
- 22:03Speaker 10: have they overcorrected to mitigate some of.
- 22:06Speaker 7: Those interceptions last year.
- 22:07Speaker 10: I don't know the answer to that, but it does
- 22:09Speaker 10: seem like one of my buddies here, Patrick Walker, did
- 22:11Speaker 10: this great article talking about middle of the field shots,
- 22:14Speaker 10: deep shots down the middle, they don't exist this year.
- 22:17Speaker 10: I found that very very interesting and I want to
- 22:20Speaker 10: know why. So I'll see if I can't get the
- 22:22Speaker 10: answer to that.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Jane, I want to ask you about Tony Pollard real quick.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Just you know that that end part of the red zone,
- 22:29Speaker 3: the short red zone, has been an issue for the Cowboys.
- 22:31Speaker 3: They're getting inside the ten that was Zeke's domain for
- 22:34Speaker 3: a long time. What's the look of Tony Pollard in
- 22:37Speaker 3: the run game, maybe in the red zone or other aspects.
- 22:42Speaker 10: Look, I think Tony Pollard's actually done a really nice
- 22:44Speaker 10: job here this year. And you know, we can make
- 22:46Speaker 10: the case about Ezekiel Elliott and whether this team would
- 22:49Speaker 10: have been better to have him or not have him.
- 22:51Speaker 10: Yesterday he told me there were minimal discussions about him
- 22:54Speaker 10: even returning. So inside this building, the wisdom was price
- 22:58Speaker 10: tag and it just didn't make sense. Now, their hope
- 23:03Speaker 10: was obviously that they would not get the same back
- 23:06Speaker 10: of Ezekiel Elliott with Tony Pollard. Their hope was sort
- 23:08Speaker 10: of running back by committee. We've seen them do that
- 23:11Speaker 10: around here before. Remember when they did that with the
- 23:12Speaker 10: wide receivers. It didn't work, So I think they're still
- 23:15Speaker 10: trying to figure this thing out. What worries me a
- 23:17Speaker 10: little bit for Tony Pollard though, is it's feeling a
- 23:20Speaker 10: little bit like DeMarco Murray's final years here where they're
- 23:22Speaker 10: running him into the ground. I mean, through the first
- 23:24Speaker 10: three games, he's got more touches than we saw from
- 23:27Speaker 10: him all of last year. So I want to know
- 23:29Speaker 10: how sustainable that's going to be. Are they going to
- 23:31Speaker 10: start working in their full back hunter Lepki. Are they
- 23:34Speaker 10: going to start seeing more of Rico Dwell what we
- 23:36Speaker 10: see more of Douce Vaughn. So I think they're still
- 23:38Speaker 10: filling out some of their personnel. As it relates to
- 23:41Speaker 10: Mike McCarthy's new offense.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I like that the overworth the comparison to DeMarco Murray. Hey,
- 23:45Speaker 1: while we're on running back chain, let's slip down to
- 23:48Speaker 1: New Orleans real quick. Alvin Kamara is coming back from
- 23:50Speaker 1: his three game suspension. We know they're not going to
- 23:53Speaker 1: have Derek Carr, so it's gonna seem like Alvin's going
- 23:55Speaker 1: to solve all their problems because they're going to have
- 23:57Speaker 1: to have a short passing game and the running.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Game with Jameis Winston at quarterback.
- 24:01Speaker 1: What can you tell us about him finally getting back
- 24:03Speaker 1: on the field after that three game suspension.
- 24:06Speaker 10: Well, getting Alvin Kamara back is huge. He's you know,
- 24:09Speaker 10: he is such a difference maker. He's such a game changer.
- 24:12Speaker 10: I think I was there a couple what was it
- 24:13Speaker 10: this six touchdown game against Minnesota a couple of years ago,
- 24:17Speaker 10: back in December. I was there for that one, and
- 24:20Speaker 10: obviously sitting that guy out for three games, he's ready
- 24:23Speaker 10: to play. The only thing that I'm curious about, guys,
- 24:25Speaker 10: and I'm gonna throw this one back to you, is
- 24:28Speaker 10: why not utilize Taysom Hill as a quarterback? Why are
- 24:31Speaker 10: we moving away from that when we saw it points
- 24:34Speaker 10: that worked and that's not a shot at Jamis Winston.
- 24:36Speaker 10: In fact, Jamis Winston typically plays up when it comes
- 24:40Speaker 10: to playing against the.
- 24:41Speaker 7: Tampa Bay Bucks.
- 24:42Speaker 10: But I just don't understand why they're not considering at
- 24:45Speaker 10: least the use of I understand not moving him out
- 24:47Speaker 10: of the tight end position altogether, but why aren't they
- 24:50Speaker 10: utilizing him a little bit more in this offense, particularly
- 24:52Speaker 10: when things haven't really changed since Sean left. I mean,
- 24:55Speaker 10: this is still a Pete Carmichael offense. I can't make
- 24:59Speaker 10: sense of it. What are your thoughts on that?
- 25:00Speaker 2: Well?
- 25:01Speaker 1: My thought real quick, jab, since we're close on time.
- 25:03Speaker 1: They've tried it with Taysen before and over the long haul.
- 25:06Speaker 2: It hasn't worked. It has worked in spots that That's
- 25:09Speaker 2: pretty much all I could think of it.
- 25:10Speaker 3: I'd see more snaps though, for sure, I'd see more
- 25:13Speaker 3: snaps I think so normally see when Derek was in there. Yeah.
- 25:16Speaker 1: The bigger question that Jane answered to me on the
- 25:18Speaker 1: phone before we talked about is Alvin Kamara corrected the
- 25:21Speaker 1: pronunciation of his name, Jane pronounce it correctly for the people.
- 25:27Speaker 10: Well, he says, his mom says Kamara, but he goes
- 25:31Speaker 10: by Kamara is what he will tell his friends. So
- 25:33Speaker 10: he says, you can say Kamara or Camara. I know
- 25:36Speaker 10: here on the NFL network, I've said it different ways.
- 25:38Speaker 10: I don't know all of you guys have said it
- 25:40Speaker 10: different ways.
- 25:41Speaker 7: So there you go. Either way works.
- 25:43Speaker 1: All right day, Thank you so much, And coming up
- 25:45Speaker 1: next on the NFL Report, we're throwing up the t
- 25:48Speaker 1: with Niner safety talanoa Whofonga Aka Hoff Next on the
- 25:54Speaker 1: NFL Report.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Welcome back to the NFL Report, James Pummer, Steve Whitch
- 26:06Speaker 3: with you and Steve. They did it last year. Best
- 26:09Speaker 3: defense in football to San Francisco forty nine ers and
- 26:11Speaker 3: three games in right where they left off a season ago,
- 26:15Speaker 3: a top five defense and pretty much everything. The only
- 26:18Speaker 3: team to not allow a completion of over twenty air
- 26:21Speaker 3: yards this season. This defense is firing all cylinders, and
- 26:26Speaker 3: that pass defense not giving up deep throws. We need
- 26:29Speaker 3: some info on tonight.
- 26:30Speaker 1: We're about to get that info because we're getting ready
- 26:32Speaker 1: to bring in a key member of that secondary, all
- 26:36Speaker 1: very safety Talana Hufanga Huff. Thanks so much for joining
- 26:39Speaker 1: us here on the NFL Report.
- 26:41Speaker 11: Thank you guys, someone for having you said.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Hey man, you're off the great start the season. Two picks,
- 26:46Speaker 1: both on tipped passes. Though you're like the king of
- 26:48Speaker 1: the tip pass. I NT bro, Like, what exactly is
- 26:53Speaker 1: it where you're always in position to be the recipient
- 26:57Speaker 1: of the tip drill?
- 26:59Speaker 11: Honestly, all glory to God, but first and foremost we
- 27:03Speaker 11: practice it each each day. We got tip tip drills,
- 27:06Speaker 11: turnover circuit and for me just to go through those
- 27:09Speaker 11: jails and kind of just practice what they preach and everything.
- 27:12Speaker 11: So when it happens in the game, you gotta be
- 27:13Speaker 11: ready for it. And Fred has blessed me with two
- 27:15Speaker 11: of them. So all shouts out, shout outs Bred helping
- 27:18Speaker 11: me out.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Steve called you Hof. Can I call you Huff? Are
- 27:22Speaker 3: we close enough to do that?
- 27:24Speaker 5: Yes?
- 27:24Speaker 11: Of course?
- 27:26Speaker 3: Okay, perfect? Perfect. Let me ask you, I mean, this
- 27:29Speaker 3: is your second year as a starter, now, so what
- 27:31Speaker 3: have you what did you do this offseason to take
- 27:34Speaker 3: another step? Because did you have success in the first
- 27:36Speaker 3: year as a start, So what did you do to think,
- 27:38Speaker 3: all right, I need to go, I need this much
- 27:41Speaker 3: further in my game? What aspect did you look into?
- 27:44Speaker 11: Well, honestly, I think you can involve your whole game truthfully,
- 27:48Speaker 11: your weaknesses, your strengths. Is always wanting to be the
- 27:50Speaker 11: best at all of it. Continue to grow. I think
- 27:54Speaker 11: for me my vision, especially having a new coach that
- 27:57Speaker 11: really preaches the vision aspect of it and Coach Wilkes
- 28:00Speaker 11: allows me to be more of a leader in the
- 28:01Speaker 11: back end and be able to see more and communicate.
- 28:04Speaker 11: So when you involve your whole game, I think that's
- 28:06Speaker 11: what helps everybody elevate their game to around you. And
- 28:09Speaker 11: just being a guy that can they can lean on,
- 28:11Speaker 11: and guys that can help other guys be put in
- 28:13Speaker 11: place to make plays.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Tell them if you can expand on that, because Steve
- 28:16Speaker 1: Wilkes is your new defensive coordinator and you and you
- 28:19Speaker 1: just said he said the vision aspect of that is important.
- 28:23Speaker 1: What is Steve done and what exactly do you mean
- 28:26Speaker 1: when you say expanding the vision aspect of playing that position?
- 28:30Speaker 11: Well, I think one of one of the greatest comments
- 28:33Speaker 11: that he always says is, you know, the formation is
- 28:35Speaker 11: talking to you. You know, understanding what you see is
- 28:37Speaker 11: what you're probably gonna get, allowing you to play faster,
- 28:39Speaker 11: seeing what you're going to see before the snap pat
- 28:42Speaker 11: snap counts starts, so allowing yourself to put other guys
- 28:45Speaker 11: in position too. So I think he allowed the safeties
- 28:49Speaker 11: to be a little bit more free in the back,
- 28:50Speaker 11: making the vision kind of more allowing us to play
- 28:52Speaker 11: what we do and make the plays that we can,
- 28:55Speaker 11: but helping other guys be put in place too. So
- 28:58Speaker 11: it's a lot of just interest the season of the formation,
- 29:02Speaker 11: but it's been really good for us for sure.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Don't know.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I'm curious, you know, from just watching your games, it
- 29:10Speaker 3: seems like there is a chip on this entire team shoulder,
- 29:13Speaker 3: both sides of the ball. I feel like I see
- 29:14Speaker 3: it in the play calling that Kyle has and the
- 29:17Speaker 3: way he goes after certain players, what's said in your
- 29:19Speaker 3: locker room postgame, and it seems like this revolves around you.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Guys know how good you were last year and it
- 29:26Speaker 3: didn't finish for a variety of reasons. Obviously we know
- 29:28Speaker 3: a couple of them the way you wanted it to.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Is that chip legitimate? Like is that talked about in
- 29:34Speaker 3: the locker room? Because it seems like a more motivated
- 29:36Speaker 3: team maybe than anybody else in football right now.
- 29:40Speaker 11: Yeah, I think, honestly, I think everybody in the league
- 29:42Speaker 11: should have a chip on the shoulder. I think that's
- 29:44Speaker 11: just what the game comes with, you know, every day,
- 29:47Speaker 11: even any given Sunday, anybody can get beat and so
- 29:49Speaker 11: for us, it's allowing us to have that chip on
- 29:51Speaker 11: our shoulder going there with the mindset that we want
- 29:52Speaker 11: to win. We want to allow ourselves to be in midseason,
- 29:57Speaker 11: midseason shape that we had last year. We kind of
- 29:59Speaker 11: wanted to start that off a little bit sooner this
- 30:01Speaker 11: year because you know, some of the early on losses
- 30:03Speaker 11: last year kind of put us in a tough spot
- 30:05Speaker 11: towards the end. But for us, just allowing ourselves to
- 30:07Speaker 11: get going, that's kind of where we're trying to get
- 30:09Speaker 11: right now.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Tell No, we know this roster is loaded, and this
- 30:14Speaker 1: is crazy because, like I mentioned, you were first team
- 30:16Speaker 1: Pro Bowler last year, first team All Pro, and when
- 30:19Speaker 1: people talk about the talent on your defense, they tend
- 30:22Speaker 1: to go Bosa, Armstead.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Hardgrave, Warner green Law. It's like, what about talent?
- 30:30Speaker 1: No, he's a pro bowler and he doesn't as you
- 30:32Speaker 1: can mention in the top five.
- 30:34Speaker 2: What about that?
- 30:35Speaker 1: And just what about the overall abundance of talent that
- 30:38Speaker 1: you guys have.
- 30:40Speaker 11: Honestly, if they didn't have to mention my name at
- 30:42Speaker 11: all and guys got all the credit, I'm all for it.
- 30:45Speaker 11: I think you're allowing yourself to get those those guys
- 30:48Speaker 11: up front do what they do. It helps our job
- 30:50Speaker 11: in the back end. So as a safety in corners,
- 30:53Speaker 11: you know, we try to help out in any way
- 30:55Speaker 11: we can to give them extra time just to get
- 30:57Speaker 11: back there and get a sack. But those guys up front,
- 30:59Speaker 11: you know, they lead the way. A guy like Freddy
- 31:01Speaker 11: commands the defense. He's the leader on our on our
- 31:03Speaker 11: defense and allows us to play free too, So you
- 31:07Speaker 11: know that run game is really set the tone from
- 31:10Speaker 11: them and then allows us the pass game. We can
- 31:11Speaker 11: give hi an extra extra second so they can get home.
- 31:14Speaker 11: We'll do it anytime, all right.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Steve mentioned all the talent on the defensive side. Then
- 31:19Speaker 3: let's go to the offense, and we got Christian McCaffrey,
- 31:21Speaker 3: and we got George Kittle, and we got thebo and
- 31:23Speaker 3: we got up and we got the list goes on
- 31:25Speaker 3: and on. Best all around athlete on the San Francisco
- 31:30Speaker 3: forty nine ers.
- 31:34Speaker 11: Man probably coach Kyle what jokingly, I don't know, Kyle.
- 31:42Speaker 11: He he puts those guys in the spots. You know,
- 31:44Speaker 11: I think this was a was a tough conversation, is
- 31:46Speaker 11: who would you build your team around? If you had
- 31:49Speaker 11: one player to play all eleven spots. And so when
- 31:52Speaker 11: when you think about it, a guy like George, when
- 31:54Speaker 11: a guy like George Kittle that can can do the
- 31:56Speaker 11: pass protection, you can run the ball, can block and catch.
- 32:00Speaker 11: I don't know if he can throw, but maybe a
- 32:03Speaker 11: guy like Kid or I'd probably say he's probably up there.
- 32:05Speaker 1: So okay, that's a good answer, man, because normally, you
- 32:08Speaker 1: know Toner, you know, guys are like Okay, who could
- 32:10Speaker 1: basically go out in a basketball court and dunk and
- 32:12Speaker 1: light guys up.
- 32:13Speaker 3: But I love the way, yes that you spun that.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Okay, speaking of your offense, first three games, thirty points,
- 32:21Speaker 1: thirty points, thirty points?
- 32:24Speaker 2: What's the deal?
- 32:25Speaker 1: And are you anticipating thirty against the Cardinals this weekend?
- 32:29Speaker 11: Oh? Man, honestly, I'm just hoping for a win. So
- 32:32Speaker 11: regardless of what it looks like, you know, we're just
- 32:33Speaker 11: gonna preach. Want to know, this week thirty would be cool,
- 32:36Speaker 11: maybe a little bit more than thirty, But I really
- 32:38Speaker 11: don't know. It's crazy that it happened three weeks in
- 32:40Speaker 11: a row, though, I'll tell you that.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Well, I want to stick with the offense because I
- 32:44Speaker 3: went a safety's perspective on your quarterback in brock Purty,
- 32:49Speaker 3: this is maybe the only show that says he's playing
- 32:52Speaker 3: he deserves the respect. Now with as much as he's
- 32:55Speaker 3: played that he should be in the conversation with a
- 32:58Speaker 3: lot of these other quarterbacks. What does Brown Party do
- 33:01Speaker 3: that that makes him a very good quarterback? Because I
- 33:04Speaker 3: think everybody just says right telling like the weapons he has,
- 33:07Speaker 3: it's easy. No, what does he do as a quarterback
- 33:10Speaker 3: that impresses you as a safety?
- 33:12Speaker 11: Yeah? Well, I think first and foremost is his prep.
- 33:15Speaker 11: I think, you know, I'm a guy that I'm two
- 33:16Speaker 11: lockers down from him, so I see what he does
- 33:19Speaker 11: on a daily basis in terms of his prep. Guy
- 33:22Speaker 11: that shows up each and every day. And I think
- 33:24Speaker 11: he commands the huddle. You know, anybody can be plugged
- 33:26Speaker 11: into a system and have a bunch of weapons, but
- 33:28Speaker 11: it's how can you command the guys, earn the respect,
- 33:30Speaker 11: and on top of that, I perform when needed to.
- 33:33Speaker 11: And a guy like him, he's showing that each and
- 33:35Speaker 11: every week last year and so far this year, so
- 33:39Speaker 11: obviously that he's the top quarterback in this league. And
- 33:41Speaker 11: for me just get to go against him ups our game.
- 33:44Speaker 11: The competition, So from that say, safety perspective, very blessed
- 33:49Speaker 11: just to go against him, for sure.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Got to ask you about your cousin and fellow USC
- 33:52Speaker 1: Trojan tu Lee too.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Yeah, he is balling right now. Man two sacks, nine tackles.
- 33:59Speaker 2: He seems to be living in opposing backfield. What about
- 34:03Speaker 2: his start? And could you foresee him kicking off the
- 34:06Speaker 2: sheets the way he has.
- 34:08Speaker 11: You know, I'm very close to him, my little cousin
- 34:11Speaker 11: and honestly his older brother as well. He was my roommate.
- 34:14Speaker 11: He plays for Philadelphia. He got a sacked this last
- 34:16Speaker 11: Monday night as well. So just very proud of them.
- 34:20Speaker 11: You know, we trained together and these guys are just
- 34:23Speaker 11: they got motors and they're doing what they're supposed to
- 34:26Speaker 11: do and we're allowing it. We're throwing the t's up everywhere,
- 34:29Speaker 11: and so very very blessed just to be a part
- 34:32Speaker 11: of a special group like that with my cousins. For sure.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Every time I turn on the screen, i feel like
- 34:37Speaker 3: I'm seeing one of the like the team from somewhere,
- 34:39Speaker 3: you know, whether it's at the college, jovel or the pros.
- 34:42Speaker 3: It's pretty awesome toime to take over finish it with
- 34:44Speaker 3: this USC see you. I'm sitting here in Denver right now.
- 34:49Speaker 3: What are we going to see in Boulder? A couple
- 34:51Speaker 3: of really talented quarterbacks going at it?
- 34:54Speaker 11: Yeah, hopefully we see a USC win. You know, obviously
- 34:58Speaker 11: I've got a pool for my team where I went
- 35:00Speaker 11: to college. But for sure, very very excited to watch
- 35:03Speaker 11: coach Prondo. You know, I've been following it so far
- 35:06Speaker 11: and it's really cool to see the way he changed
- 35:08Speaker 11: the program over there in the mindset. Obviously it's gonna
- 35:11Speaker 11: be a class Obviously, I would love for it to
- 35:13Speaker 11: be a blowout, but I know Coach Prime is now
- 35:16Speaker 11: on things up and turning the tables over there. For sure.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Tal No, you're not gonna give the Prime and he
- 35:22Speaker 1: bulletin board material because you know, you know he takes
- 35:24Speaker 1: everything personal.
- 35:26Speaker 2: But look, man, we can't thank you.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Enough for joining us because you know, you're such a
- 35:29Speaker 1: special player.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I know you you're a special dude.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Man, do a lot of things to make people lives better.
- 35:34Speaker 1: So again, really appreciate you taking the time.
- 35:36Speaker 12: Man.
- 35:37Speaker 11: I appreciate you. Guys, Thank you so much.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Following up next, Bryan Baldinger, Yeah, you know, the king
- 35:47Speaker 1: of the breakdowns, he's going to break down some offensive
- 35:51Speaker 1: and defensive rookies. You're watching Jalen Carter or the Eagles
- 35:56Speaker 1: because he has been a grown man up.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Next on the end, Fell.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Report are back at the NFL Report and we are
- 36:09Speaker 1: now joined by Brian Balden.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Well not yet because JP is eating popcorn, because again
- 36:15Speaker 2: he's always watching Baldi's.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Watching bald these films.
- 36:20Speaker 5: You know.
- 36:21Speaker 1: So we just had the interview with Talaa Hufanga in
- 36:25Speaker 1: twenty sixteen. You and I MC the Polian Football Hall
- 36:29Speaker 1: of Fame and Trium at ceremony where your dear friend
- 36:31Speaker 1: Vai Sikahema, one of the first Tonguan players to ever
- 36:35Speaker 1: play in the NFL.
- 36:36Speaker 2: I wasn't trined in the policies and football Hall of Fame.
- 36:39Speaker 1: That's right, Jp for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Saint
- 36:41Speaker 1: Louis Cardinals. But Baldi, Talanoa Hufanga, Tui Poluto and then
- 36:48Speaker 1: his brother Marlin are all coming off big, big games
- 36:53Speaker 1: and breaking down the film.
- 36:54Speaker 2: And let's start with Talanoa.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Of these three Tonguan just terrors on the field on
- 36:59Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball.
- 37:01Speaker 2: What have you seen from these guys?
- 37:03Speaker 12: Well, I mean playmaking, playmaking ability by all of them.
- 37:09Speaker 12: You know, when you look at talanoa like he can
- 37:12Speaker 12: be your deep free safety and get those tape tipball
- 37:15Speaker 12: interceptions that you asked about James. He could be in
- 37:18Speaker 12: the box playing right next to Fred Warner and Dre
- 37:21Speaker 12: and be in the backfield at the snap okay, and
- 37:24Speaker 12: making a tackle for loss. He could be on the
- 37:26Speaker 12: blitz off the edge. You can really just about you
- 37:29Speaker 12: can line them up and have him cover the tight end.
- 37:32Speaker 12: Like he's just all over the place and he just
- 37:35Speaker 12: has instincts for the game, real instincts. And then he
- 37:39Speaker 12: just has this ability to crash your party, you know.
- 37:42Speaker 12: So that's that's Toalinoa. Now, if you look at Touley,
- 37:46Speaker 12: like I did the Minnesota Charger game last weekend at
- 37:49Speaker 12: us Banks h Stand hum up in Minneapolis, he was
- 37:52Speaker 12: the best defensive player on the field, Like he had
- 37:54Speaker 12: seven pressures. If you look at the sack by Bosa,
- 37:58Speaker 12: the sack by Morgan Fox, the guy that got there
- 38:00Speaker 12: first was Tooley, Like he won his one on one
- 38:04Speaker 12: and then Kirk Cousins, you know, scrambled out of the
- 38:06Speaker 12: way and here comes Bosa. And the thing that I
- 38:08Speaker 12: love about Tooley is Bosa gets to sack, but I
- 38:12Speaker 12: felt like Tooley was celebrating more than Bosa was. And
- 38:16Speaker 12: when Fox got to sacked, I felt like Tuley like
- 38:19Speaker 12: his celebrations were like big time. And then if you
- 38:23Speaker 12: look at Marlon, if you look at you know, just
- 38:24Speaker 12: the Eagles and their defensive tackle rotation right now with
- 38:28Speaker 12: Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter and Marlin, I mean,
- 38:33Speaker 12: that's as deep and as strong a defensive tackle rotation
- 38:36Speaker 12: as there is in the NFL right now.
- 38:38Speaker 5: They as good as anybody in the middle. And Marlin
- 38:40Speaker 5: is a big part of that.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Let's let's talk about another guy in the middle of
- 38:44Speaker 3: that defense, Baldy, because I think there's back to back
- 38:47Speaker 3: plays right that Jalen Carter had in their last game
- 38:50Speaker 3: that were just incredible. I think he gets the pressure
- 38:52Speaker 3: up the middle and then then he forces the fumble
- 38:54Speaker 3: on the very next play. What is Jalen Carter in
- 38:56Speaker 3: your eyes? When you look at the film jump out
- 38:59Speaker 3: you which aspect of his game so far has been
- 39:01Speaker 3: the one that you most enjoyed.
- 39:04Speaker 12: He just moves bodies, James big bodies and maybe like
- 39:08Speaker 12: one or two guys at a time, physically. You know,
- 39:11Speaker 12: he broke you know, a blocking sled in Philadelphia this year.
- 39:14Speaker 12: It was a big deal, like nobody's ever seen a
- 39:16Speaker 12: blocking said it broke. But his his power is tenacious.
- 39:21Speaker 12: But then with that, I see a lot of rookies
- 39:24Speaker 12: come in and they just played power football. But this
- 39:27Speaker 12: guy actually knows how to rush the quarterback. He knows
- 39:29Speaker 12: how to get on the edge, he knows how to
- 39:32Speaker 12: like he punched the ball out right there. You know,
- 39:35Speaker 12: he caused the safety last week by just crushed the pocket.
- 39:39Speaker 12: He has almost inhuman power. But then he's also because
- 39:45Speaker 12: he's not quite the rookie that we expect, because he's
- 39:49Speaker 12: got past rush ability and his rise. In just three games,
- 39:53Speaker 12: he's already becoming one of the more dominant interior defensive
- 39:58Speaker 12: linemen in this league. After three games, I mean he's
- 40:01Speaker 12: grown already. And just the amount of snaps that he's taken.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Wow.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Okay, So we heard about two starting rookie you know,
- 40:07Speaker 1: defensive players here, uh you know, Jalen and Tuley offense
- 40:12Speaker 1: side of the ball, And this is the guy you
- 40:13Speaker 1: break down all the time that you clearly love his emerges.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Dwan Jones the tackle for the Brown fascinating.
- 40:20Speaker 12: Well, it's interesting because you know, the the Browns played
- 40:23Speaker 12: four preseason games this year because they have the Hall
- 40:25Speaker 12: of Fame game. So Bill Callahan, the offensive line coach, said,
- 40:29Speaker 12: you know, let's get this kid ready. So he played
- 40:32Speaker 12: a ton of snaps and that in fact, a couple
- 40:34Speaker 12: of preseason games he took every snap. So I'm like, Okay,
- 40:37Speaker 12: who's this guy with the wingspan of a Pacific manta
- 40:41Speaker 12: that's playing out there?
- 40:43Speaker 5: Because sometimes.
- 40:46Speaker 12: No, sometimes it's left hand is in Cleveland and his
- 40:49Speaker 12: right hands in Pittsburgh. Like it's the biggest wings band
- 40:52Speaker 12: you've ever seen. Right, So then you go, okay, all right,
- 40:55Speaker 12: he's got size.
- 40:56Speaker 5: We get that. We saw that in Ohio State. We
- 40:58Speaker 5: saw that the combine.
- 40:59Speaker 12: We all did the measurements, right, But then you see him,
- 41:02Speaker 12: okay against Sam Hubbard, dominant against Sam Hubbard against Cincinnati,
- 41:06Speaker 12: went in there for Jack Conkline.
- 41:08Speaker 5: He got hurt.
- 41:09Speaker 12: Unfortunately he's a right tackle. But you know, even against TJ. Watt,
- 41:13Speaker 12: he wasn't bad against TJ.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Watt.
- 41:15Speaker 5: I mean, TJ just has a motor. He's just gonna
- 41:17Speaker 5: keep going and going and going. You got to get
- 41:19Speaker 5: used to that.
- 41:20Speaker 2: But he was.
- 41:20Speaker 12: Outstanding last week. He looks entrenched to play the next
- 41:26Speaker 12: ten years at that position. And he's a big guy
- 41:29Speaker 12: that has good movement, good sets, and I think you
- 41:32Speaker 12: can count on to play consistent football right now.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Body. I did their last preseason game and I remember
- 41:39Speaker 3: talking to their coaching staff on the sideline and they
- 41:41Speaker 3: were like, something has clicked here at the end of
- 41:43Speaker 3: this preseason with Dwan Jones, and they thought it took
- 41:46Speaker 3: a minute, but they had loved it heading into the season.
- 41:48Speaker 3: I love that breakdown. How about a wide receiver Jayden
- 41:51Speaker 3: Reid sticking with these young guys from the Packers. What
- 41:54Speaker 3: have you seen with him so far? Because they haven't
- 41:57Speaker 3: had one of the receivers yet to play for them,
- 41:59Speaker 3: and Christian and hasn't played.
- 42:01Speaker 5: So you know, you look at you, look at you.
- 42:03Speaker 12: Just last week, you know, yeah, Jayden Reed, second round pick,
- 42:06Speaker 12: Dontavious Wicks, the fifth round pick out of Virginia, Lucas Musgrave.
- 42:10Speaker 5: It's all rookies out there, but this Jayden.
- 42:12Speaker 12: Reed, now like he's slippery, he's fast, he plays inside,
- 42:16Speaker 12: he plays outside. He called a spray fade last week
- 42:19Speaker 12: and that big seventeen nothing comeback. You know that they
- 42:23Speaker 12: had against the Saints. He caught the big play on that.
- 42:26Speaker 12: He just looks like he knows how to run routes.
- 42:28Speaker 12: I know Jordan Loved trusts him like he keeps going
- 42:31Speaker 12: to him. And so he's second on the team right now,
- 42:34Speaker 12: next to Romeo Dobbs in receptions. He's got a couple
- 42:36Speaker 12: of touchdowns he's been he's just fluid. He's very fluid,
- 42:41Speaker 12: and he's very smooth. He runs good routes and he
- 42:44Speaker 12: can beat man coverage. Like you can't ask for anything
- 42:47Speaker 12: more from your second round pick, because for a long time,
- 42:50Speaker 12: Green Bay never got the rookie receivers on the field,
- 42:53Speaker 12: like you know, go back to you know, Davonte Adams
- 42:56Speaker 12: and way before that, Like those guys never made a contribution.
- 42:59Speaker 12: They just sat and watched and made mistakes. But this
- 43:02Speaker 12: kid's out there contributing right away right now.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Well, I love how each week, though, you really single
- 43:07Speaker 1: out this particular veteran for the Indianapolis Colts has been
- 43:11Speaker 1: in the league for a while, a wonderful human being,
- 43:14Speaker 1: but he is really rounded into a stud linebacker that
- 43:17Speaker 1: Zire Franklin.
- 43:19Speaker 12: Well you know he's from Philly, Steve, so you know
- 43:21Speaker 12: It's part of me is I'm you know, I'm a
- 43:22Speaker 12: little pat you know, James, right, I mean he's a
- 43:25Speaker 12: Philly kid, Yeah, I know.
- 43:27Speaker 3: You know.
- 43:27Speaker 12: The thing about him is, you know you had you
- 43:29Speaker 12: had Shaq Leonard there and he was, you know, maybe
- 43:32Speaker 12: the best playmaking linebacker in.
- 43:33Speaker 5: Football for a while. Then he had then he got hurt.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Bobby o'caoke was there.
- 43:38Speaker 12: He's got a big free agent contract, so last year
- 43:41Speaker 12: Shaq got hurt, Zier got a chance to start. The
- 43:43Speaker 12: kid has started not just twenty straight games in a
- 43:47Speaker 12: row now for the Colts, but he's played every snap
- 43:50Speaker 12: in twenty straight games. I don't know if another player
- 43:53Speaker 12: has played every snap for twenty straight plays twenty straight
- 43:57Speaker 12: games in his league. And then you watch him last
- 43:59Speaker 12: week and you watch, you know, him chase down Lamar
- 44:03Speaker 12: Jackson the open field and catch him like you don't
- 44:05Speaker 12: see that, Like when you see a number forty four
- 44:08Speaker 12: come out on one side of the field and there's
- 44:10Speaker 12: Lamar on the run and he gets caught by Zier Franklin.
- 44:14Speaker 12: You go, that catches your eye, that says, you know,
- 44:17Speaker 12: wait a second, maybe what I'm seeing he's more than
- 44:20Speaker 12: just a hoover vacuum cleaner, you know, cleaning up sack
- 44:24Speaker 12: tackles right here like he is all over the field,
- 44:29Speaker 12: and anybody that underestimates this Colts defense just isn't paying
- 44:34Speaker 12: attention because what they did to Baltimore now they look
- 44:37Speaker 12: they just reduced him to just you know, dnking and
- 44:40Speaker 12: dunking down the field. And Zaire is a big part
- 44:43Speaker 12: of that right now. He's he's really he's been fun
- 44:45Speaker 12: to watch. You're gonna get a breakdown from him probably
- 44:48Speaker 12: every week. He leaves the team and tackles every single week.
- 44:51Speaker 12: Number forty four for the Colts is the real deal.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Well, the JP's got the pop Warren I got, you know, no,
- 44:57Speaker 1: it's my favorite segment of the week. I mean, this
- 44:59Speaker 1: is I've got to go get like some raisin uts
- 45:02Speaker 1: or something for tonight. Baldy, we don't have time to
- 45:06Speaker 1: talk about Max Prosby, but I'm sure he's gonna be
- 45:09Speaker 1: dominant again this week, so we're gonna talk about him
- 45:12Speaker 1: next Thursday.
- 45:13Speaker 2: We appreciate the reach references from Cleveland to Pittsburgh. The
- 45:17Speaker 2: MAT's right comparisons.
- 45:19Speaker 3: We'll see you next Thursday.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Baldie, And coming up, which teams might be on thin Ice.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, this is a segment you're not gonna want
- 45:29Speaker 1: to miss here on the NFL Report.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Welcome back to the NFL Report, James Palmer, Steve White
- 45:42Speaker 3: with you, Steve, how good is Baldy? Is this your
- 45:44Speaker 3: favorite thing every Thursday that we.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Have He's great. He's great.
- 45:47Speaker 1: He's everybody's favorite thing. He's everybody's favorite, not just us
- 45:51Speaker 1: in the media world. How about players listen to this
- 45:54Speaker 1: from Javon Holland, the Dolphins safety, asked about being PFF's
- 45:58Speaker 1: number one safety, he said, quote, really, only the one
- 46:00Speaker 1: that's more important is what Baldi thinks. He's like the
- 46:03Speaker 1: best analysts I've come across. If I'm in Baldy's breakdowns
- 46:07Speaker 1: at the end of the week, then I know I
- 46:09Speaker 1: did something that we don't do something right every Thursday. Here,
- 46:13Speaker 1: we know we do something right every Thursday here, Steve,
- 46:14Speaker 1: because we have Baldi on. Quick note before we get
- 46:16Speaker 1: to the end of this, end of this segment and
- 46:18Speaker 1: the end of this show, Steve.
- 46:19Speaker 3: David Baktiari, the left tackle for the Packers, put on
- 46:22Speaker 3: ir Ian Rappaport are NFL insider saying that, you know,
- 46:26Speaker 3: obviously it's four games at minimum. He also said, we'll
- 46:29Speaker 3: see if he comes back this season. That could be
- 46:31Speaker 3: a big blow to the Green Bay factors. And how
- 46:34Speaker 3: about Steve. Some teams that are suffered some pretty passive
- 46:38Speaker 3: blows early in this young season that we're in the
- 46:41Speaker 3: playoffs a year ago, reeling early on here, Let's start
- 46:46Speaker 3: with you and the Giants at one and two.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look, they play Seattle this week, and
- 46:51Speaker 1: we know Seattle they're a tough team. If the Giants
- 46:54Speaker 1: don't win this game, their next two games are at
- 46:58Speaker 1: Miami and at Ball James.
- 47:01Speaker 2: That means they'd be steering at one in.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Five and based with Philadelphia and Dallas in the division,
- 47:06Speaker 1: that means the Giants would almost have to be perfect
- 47:10Speaker 1: the rest of the way.
- 47:11Speaker 2: They've got to win at.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Seattle and try to get some momentum going, otherwise they
- 47:16Speaker 1: will not be going back to the playoffs.
- 47:19Speaker 3: It's tough. I just feel like everything asks to me
- 47:20Speaker 3: perfect for them to get wins, including their quarterback Daniel Jones.
- 47:23Speaker 3: How about the Chargers, I'm gonna go with them. They're
- 47:25Speaker 3: one and two facing the Raiders. I think Steve personally,
- 47:28Speaker 3: this is a team as well as his offense has
- 47:30Speaker 3: played can go on a run, and I think they
- 47:32Speaker 3: have a bye week in a couple of weeks see
- 47:34Speaker 3: where Derwin James is in terms of health wise. That
- 47:36Speaker 3: gives them an early opportunity to figure out what they
- 47:38Speaker 3: want to do without Mike Williams, who's been lost for
- 47:41Speaker 3: the season. But I just think Justin Herbert's been too good.
- 47:43Speaker 3: They can put up too many points that down the
- 47:45Speaker 3: stretch if they just fix a few things with their defense,
- 47:48Speaker 3: specifically in the secondary. What can j C. Jackson do
- 47:51Speaker 3: for them? We'll see moving forward, but I think they
- 47:54Speaker 3: have the ability to write the ship specifically because the
- 47:56Speaker 3: division they're in as well, with the Raiders and the
- 47:59Speaker 3: Broncos in there.
- 48:00Speaker 1: That's the type of team that could go on a
- 48:01Speaker 1: seven game win streak.
- 48:02Speaker 2: So I am not that worried about the Chargers and James.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Let's go to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 48:07Speaker 1: They're one and two, right they were supposed to be
- 48:09Speaker 1: the AFC favorites coming in. They're playing over London against
- 48:12Speaker 1: the Atlanta Falcons this week. But I like the Jags
- 48:17Speaker 1: because I think, like last year, remember they won five
- 48:19Speaker 1: straight games to finish their season, then won a playoff game.
- 48:22Speaker 2: They've got the potential to do that.
- 48:25Speaker 1: The problem is, and this is an intriguing one, after
- 48:29Speaker 1: they play the Falcons in London, they have another game
- 48:33Speaker 1: in London, right then they've opted not against the Bills,
- 48:37Speaker 1: by the way, and then.
- 48:38Speaker 2: They've opted not to take the buy. So they come
- 48:40Speaker 2: back and they.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Play the Colts at New Orleans and at Pittsburgh before
- 48:44Speaker 1: they have a bye. So they have got to start
- 48:47Speaker 1: winning this week otherwise, regardless of the type of run.
- 48:50Speaker 2: They make, it is going to be an uphill climb.
- 48:54Speaker 3: They just got to be better than the Trenches Steve
- 48:55Speaker 3: on the offensive side of the ball, on the defensive
- 48:57Speaker 3: side of all quarters Rush. I think one of the
- 49:00Speaker 3: things is that they have been eating their clippings a
- 49:03Speaker 3: little bit, at least that's what dub Peterson says. I'll
- 49:05Speaker 3: finish this off with the Vikings at zero to three.
- 49:07Speaker 3: You and I were talking offline. I think, actually I'm
- 49:10Speaker 3: more confident in the Vikings, who are winless going against
- 49:12Speaker 3: the Panthers this Sunday, than I am against you for
- 49:15Speaker 3: the Giants. I think this team is talented. Obviously, you
- 49:17Speaker 3: have a guy in Justin Jefferson that an entire game plan,
- 49:20Speaker 3: his model to stopping him and he still gets roughly
- 49:23Speaker 3: one hundred and fifty yards a game. It's remarkable, but
- 49:26Speaker 3: they won so many games by one score a year ago. Steve,
- 49:29Speaker 3: we're seeing some highlights or low lights, as you like
- 49:32Speaker 3: to call him, with some turnover issues. That's been a
- 49:34Speaker 3: problem hanging on to the football for the Vikings. But
- 49:36Speaker 3: I still think they're a good team. I actually have
- 49:38Speaker 3: some confidence in them in a sense. I think that
- 49:40Speaker 3: part kind of surprises myself a little bit. But at
- 49:43Speaker 3: the same time, I do like what the Vikings have.
- 49:46Speaker 1: DeBie, the Vikings better be Carolina. Caroline's had a tough
- 49:48Speaker 1: time getting to the end zone. Plus they got Detroit
- 49:51Speaker 1: and Miami next. Hey, j PB, you gotta get out here.
- 49:54Speaker 1: In the NFL Report Week four, coming up, Dolphins Bills.
- 49:59Speaker 2: That game is gonna be off the chain. Now.
- 50:02Speaker 3: You can't say change a chance. The Chant of the
- 50:05Speaker 3: Chance Steven.
- 50:06Speaker 2: The Report on Monday. Listen to the podcast
